Greyhound Research Paper
Woof, Woof, Woof! In the middle of a ideally hot afternoon people gather around for an incredible
race. These dogs on their way in the back of the truck to start the race are known as Italian
Greyhounds. Only the fastest will win as they cross the finish line barking at the raccoon hanging
from the tree. Italian Greyhounds are awesome animals due to their history, life cycle, housing,
nutrition, and the benefits of Greyhounds. Greyhounds have been migrated to America in the most
amazing ways. The Greyhound species first started about two thousand years ago in the
Mediterranean, Greece, and Turkey. Italian Greyhounds were bred for small games, hunting, and
companionship. As the years passed, miniature Greyhounds were all over Southeastern Europe. About
the 1600 Greyhounds appeared in England. Then by 1820 the Greyhounds only had two breeds named
in the dog book. During World War II, the popularity of Greyhounds decreased. As the number
decreased, the Greyhounds still had hope. In the nineteenth century high quality Greyhounds were
introduced to the United States. In interesting fact the Greyhounds were bred to restore Europe after
World War II. Greyhounds had travelled all over the world on their voyage to the United States. Italian

Raw diets give them their proper amount of protein. For example, meat is a good part of a Greyhounds
raw diet and the meat can in the form of frozen patties. Another diet would be Home cooked diet.
They could also be given fresh diets, which includes refrigerated foods. Greyhounds should never be
fed grapes, chocolate, walnuts, and etc. Greyhounds need to be fed two scoops of food in the morning
and at night. Water should be given every couple hours because they are very active dogs. This will
help the Greyhounds get the right nutrition to be the best

Music Essay On Music And The Power Of Music
Song Essay The power of music is as strong today as it has ever been before. Throughout history
music has been a way for our people to speak out against the government or follow their commands.
There is a great irony that a lot of these songs nowadays all tie together to portray the same message,
and this is not a coincidence. Today, hip hop has taken the lead in protesting police brutality and the
injustices suffered by the poor. Within the selection of songs, the audience can see how the
government tries to control us, as well as how there is still much racism going on today. Joey s song,
Temptations, explores the issue of racial equality and the struggle of being black in America. Growing
up in a poor neighborhood not having your rent on time because your mom works a nine to five job
that s just enough to make a living as a result of how the government has set up the average person to
be, I really came up from the bottom / Strugglin , my momma on her last dollar / Hustling man I ve
been putting in these hours / The government been trying to take away what s ours (line 18 21). In this
song, Badmon describes how young men are killing one another, and figure that is the way to go about
things because of culture but fail to really see what they are doing as well as who they are hurting. He
also mentions how people make an example out of killing someone rather than spreading positivity
and leaves you with the question of are you willing to make the sacrifice, to make a

Substantive Due Process Claim Analysis
The Complaint Fails to Establish a Basis for Count II, a Substantive Due Process Claim Shahmaleki
failed to state a Substantive Due Process claim that arises to the level of shocking the conscience. The
substantive due process claims is subject to dismissal as such claims are reserved for only the most
egregious official conduct. As Circuit Judge David Ebel stated in affirming a judgment in defendants
favor on a substantive due process claim based upon the murder of a state employee in a state facility,
this claim requires a plaintiff to demonstrate that the State acted in a manner that shock[s] the
conscience. While Shahmaleki may have faced hardship from the University s decision, that hardship
does not rise to the level of conscience shocking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Equal Protection claims based upon national origin are subject to close judicial scrutiny and generally
such claims follow equal protection precedent concerning race. A plaintiff must show a discriminatory
intent or purpose for a violation of the Equal protection Clause. A plaintiff cannot just allege a racially
disproportionate impact, but must also allege a discriminatory purpose for that impact. This requires
both a showing that the Defendants treated the plaintiff differently from others similar situated
individuals and that such treatment was the result of intentional discrimination. This standard is
heightened when it is against a supervisor and requires a specific intent to discriminate behind just
being aware of the consequences of their action. Essentially, a plaintiff must show that the supervisor
engaged in the discriminatory action because of the other person s race or national origin and not
merely in spite of their race or

Personal Narrative-Padre Island
I jumped on my bed at 12 in the morning. I can t wait for tomorrow! It s going to be a tremendous day.
My family; Dad, Mom, little brother Andrew and I, are going to South Padre Island early in the
morning! I couldn t stop thinking about it. What am I going to be able to do there? How will the hotel
look like? Pause. The list can go on and on, but first, I need some sleep. It s going to be a great time
with my family.
Ring! Ring! My alarm rang at 5:15 am. I enthusiastically ran downstairs trying to let my legs get
moving. The first thing I see is loads of bags and luggage. Good morning, Ashley! Mom and Dad
cheered at me. I waved my hand and wondered about how they could be still efficacious with all the
packing. Andrew is on the couch napping with a sausage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I quickly changed into comfortable clothes and woke my brother up (which probably took five
minutes) and ate breakfast. I hopped into our rental car, which was presumably small. Three layers of
soft, feathered blankets over me, and probably holding onto five different head pillows. I can t believe
we get to go to South Padre Island for three days! I yelled to my family. It takes about eight hours to
arrive at our hotel, so I definitely got carsick. The good news was that we got to eat fast food! Andrew
and I got to sleep a lot while the parents got to drive. We arrived after 7 pm to our hotel. Then, we
grabbed our heavy, bulky, luggage and brought them to our room to the 2nd floor. After we unpacked,
we were exhausted and all but we still had the stamina to go down to the beach and take a view on the
glazing ocean water. It looked very delicate like a clear foil was laid on top of the water. I doused my
feet in the cool, numb water. While digging my hands deep in the soft, cushy, sand, I could feel all the

Music And Its Impact On Society
There are two pillars of society that have and always will be prevalent in civilizations. The first pillar
being competition of power; society will always have individuals in charge of the decisions regarding
the administration of their civilization. Secondly, being the self expression of the human condition
through music. Both concepts widely disparate, although both vital to the constitution of one s identity
and development of their life choices. A person s life will always be altered due to interactions with
their environment. For James Hornaday Murray, the two most influential aspects of his environment
have been the impact of music and politically dismay he grew up with. In his most shapeable stage in
life, the coming of adulthood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Songs metamorphosed to expression of frustration and anger towards the political choices of
countries. Music concerts were then formed to create a focal point of social change and discovery of
one s self. One of the most momentous concerts in James Murray s life was Woodstock in 1969.
Woodstock was the coalescing of the most influencing artists of their decade making an impact on
their world; James learned from this event how music was more than just an art form but an
outpouring of raw emotion. He learned of the power of music. Woodstock was stationed on a 600 acre
dairy farm in Bethel, New York. Initially its purpose was for the founders to start their own label; it
transformed into a cultural mecca for peace, love and antiwar sentiments. (Sanjek) The youth
counterculture was able to experience musicians such as Joan Baez, Creedence Clearwater Revival,
The Grateful Dead and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. (Festival concludes) For James, just beginning
his adult life, these bands brought on new ideas he never quite imagined were possible. It was due to
the fact that he had grown up with parents who lived in an era of conformity. Thus he never
experienced this type of self expression and open anger with the American Government.
Experimentation with oneself was not permissible. Questioning the government was not thought of
and individuals could not make a difference. Woodstock provided

Lack Of Systemic Evaluation And Financial Resources Essay
The very bare existence of any organization is profit maximization through a series of inputs
maneuvered by a mixture of mechanical and human activity. Though businesses evaluate their
machine via depreciation, human evaluation remains their only challenge. To face this challenge,
Human resources managers and business leaders put together a system called: Employee Performance
Appraisal which sets to evaluate employees on a yearly basis. This process often causes tension
between employees and employers because it fails to do away with biases and prejudices. So, it is
hardly ever that an employee receives a fair performance evaluation. Many kinds of bias can show up
during the performance appraisal process. The most common ones occur when managers or appraisers
compare two employees performance against each other while using only one form for each
department, a process that discourages smart and strong employees from seeking higher ranks within.
Some argue that lack of systemic evaluation and financial resources is to blame. The intent of this
paper is to address the various kind of bias and show they affect negatively both the organization and
its employees. In addition, valuable time and resources are wasted conducting interviews and meeting
that are inefficient. Time that could have been used to enhance productivity and training for
employees, is now allocated to either to degrade, demean, demotivate employees. Such behavior is
always perceived as bias. Consequently, if

Female Discrimination in the Mass Media
Mass media is one the most proficient ways to advertise new or improved products. Catchy jingles,
bold font, and abstract pictures are amongst the various ways to grasp the audience s attention. These
characteristics grab the attention of individuals and persuade them to buy whatever it is a company is
selling. The key factor is the product may not even be physically seen within the advertisement. For
instance, a commercial will not show the actual product until the very end when the company suggests
that their product is the product for you. So how would a person know that this merchandise that is
being advertised is really something they need? What grabs their attention? A key factor to selling
merchandise that companies insist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of the woman s mouth, suggesting that this is the proper way to eat the meal, and give oral sex for that
matter. When looking at this advertisement, the sandwich isn t even that catchy portion, the slogan is.
Nearly everyone in today s society knows what a blow job is, and Burger King completely takes this
phrase and goes overboard. If the picture of the sandwich is replaced with a penis, it will look like the
woman is actually give oral sex to a 7 incher , and enjoying it! Women should find this absurd
behavior from Burger King, and not want to purchase anything from the company. Even though the
text and slogans in the advertisement are clearly describing that appearance and taste of the sandwich,
the catchy wording definitely pertains to sexual content. Unfavorably, women really do not have a
choice when it comes to the purchase of many products. A lot of companies have a very unique or
niche product that they sell, and women have no other route to go when it comes to making a
purchase. In this case, women have other alternatives within the fast food industry, yet they still
support the likes of Burger King. Does this mean that women accept the embarrassment placed in the
media? In a way, women do accept it because it is

during this time he quickly became a part of the Harlem Renaissance. Four years later, he was

Paraphilic Disorder Research Paper
Although the disorder is categorized into many different types of specific paraphilia, the
characteristics of the illness are often very similar. At first, the disorder may seem like a regular fetish
or a sexual fantasy of an individual. However, if an individual is going through guilt, distress,
depression, or any sense of immorality from his/her particular interest, the signs of the Paraphilic
disorder becomes more explicit. As the individual relieves himself/herself from engaging in paraphilic

Analysis Of The Drinking Man s Scotch , By The Liquor...
My aim within this essay is to discuss, in detail, the underlining semiotics and ideological messages of
a specific piece of work relatable to my professional field, photography. This being said within this
essay I have chosen to focus on an image generated for the advertising campaign; The drinking man s
scotch , by the liquor company Dewar s. Throughout my essay I hope to apply relevant information
gathered from surrounding fundamental theories, to support and emphasise my own personal view of
the subject matter, and aid the interpretation of the meanings, and connotations, behind the work that I
have chosen to focus on. The main theme of my essay will focus heavily on the significations
presented within the image, to create meaning and persuasion in association with advertisement
photography, my argument taking influence from the works of Roland Barthes, Ferdinand de
Saussure, and David Crow. However I will also address the use of ideology within advertisement,
applying theories presented within the works of Karl Marx, Ron Beasley and Marcel Danes, to my
argument.
The theory of semiotics, is a study that focuses on the relationship between the components of the sign
that enables us to turn signals, in whatever form they appear, into a message which can we can
understand (Crow, 2003). It is the theory, which can be applied in practice, that all imagery can be
decoded to reveal an underlining signification, which can be interpreted to create symptomatic and

Destiny is the belief that the Americans could extend themselves from coast to coast. It is known as an

The growth in population played a key part in the reason to expand to the west. The birth rate was

Melatonin Agonists
Discussion There have been studies conducted that show that targeting melatonin receptors may be a
novel way of reducing the threshold of seizure propensity. Currently, progabide is an established drug
that is used to control epileptic seizures. However, there are no studies conducted that combine both
melatonin agonists and GABA agonists together to treat epileptic seizures. Our results showed that
there was a decrease in seizure propensity when treating the mice with melatonin and GABA agonists,
however, there was an even significant decrease in seizure propensity when these two treatments were
combined together. The two way ANOVA test also revealed that treatment and seizure propensity had

Progabide is not a relatively popular drug for the treatment for epilepsy, so there are no concrete list of
symptoms for this drug. However, central nervous system depressants in general tend to produce
symptoms such as drowsiness or dizziness. It can also lead to suicidal thoughts or depression.21 Thus,
when combined with melatonin agonists, it may produce more intense feelings of drowsiness because
melatonin also causes increased drowsiness in humans. This experiment could have been improved if
we had used rats that were genetically engineered or born with a proclivity towards seizures. This way,
we could have seen the effects of GABA and melatonin agonists on rats that had organic long term
seizures rather than short term seizures that were induced artificially by kainic acid. It was found that
rats purchased from a group of Crj:Wistar rats from the company Charles River Japan spontaneously
exhibited seizures. These rats were then inbred and their seizure susceptibility loci (Ner1 and Ner2)
were mapped out on chromosomes 1 and 3.22 Perhaps by using these rats, we can truly mimic
seizures that are more closely related to the ones produced

Office Space
In 1999, Hollywood writer and director, Mike Judge, wrote and directed a movie entitled Office
Space. Office Space is a satirical look at the human experience in the workplace environment.
Although the scenarios presented in this comedy are far fetched, they do shine a light on several
industrial and organizational psychological principles. Some themes that are touched on in the movie
are leadership, communication, motivation, job analysis, groupthink, and counterproductive
workplace behaviors. This paper will attempt to analyze and evaluate the workplace conditions

Analysis Of Data Analysis
Our root node, which holds 100% of the sample, and average sleeping hour for mammals in the entire
sample is 10.4 hours. Then, our decision tree diverges to left (for condition being true, that is, is body
weight equal to or greater than 168?) One thing the data scientist should always to is to get an
assessment of how the chosen algorithm is performing, as far as accuracy is concerned. Different
packages and different methods often use different algorithms and it is important to understand how
source code makes the data behave so that we can better analyze, predict, model, and visualize our
data. It would be like knowing which port our ship has sailed to so we can expect to know when to

LAD is another statistical optimality criterion and the statistical optimization technique that relies on
it. Similar to other celebrity like optimization techniques, LAD aims to find a function which closely
approximate our data. Trimmed Mean: Involves the calculation of the mean after discarding given
parts of a probability distribution or sample at the high and low end, and typically discarding an equal
amount of both. This number of points to be discarded is usually given as a percentage of the total
number of points, but may also be given as a fixed number of points. Also known as Truncated Mean.
For classification trees, phi coefficient, Gini Index, or twoing are the most commonly used
approximation techniques. Phi Coefficient: Is a measure of association for two binary variables (n is
total number of observations). Gini Index: The Gini Index loss measures inequality or dispersion.
Another step data scientist should consider before finalizing his predictions on data, pruning the tree is
usually common approach, which I am going to cover in the next section 2.4 Tree Pruning Pruning is a
technique we use to reduce the size of decision trees by getting rid of sections of our tree that provide
little to no power for our classification. Pruning process helps us reduce the complexity of the
finalized classifier, hence providing a better and improved accuracy on our predictions. Since a

Pop Art And Its Influence On American Culture
If Pop art was a from of realism, it was a realism that represented the ways American consumer
culture had altered the perception of reality itself. Pop artists imagined themselves confronting a world
in which the scale and compass of consumer capitalism, with its near total saturation of society,
exceeded traditional perceptual structures (Miller 598). Pop Art movement took place in various cities
but mainly in New York in the sixties and became popular within two or three years. Artist from this
movement worked on imagery originally created for the base amusement of lowbrows (Scherman 68).
This movement took place to get rid of boundaries between high art and low culture. I think the artist s
concept behind their work to show everyone that there is no hierarchy of culture. Pop Art was mainly
about using other artists work and adding their own influential characteristics to it. The three
commonly known artist from Pop Art movement were Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and James
Rosenquist. Roy Lichtenstein lived in the Jersey suburbs and was an art professor at Rutgers
University. At the age 37 Roy was smuggling comic strip characters into his otherwise unremarkable
abstractions when it hit him: Why not make paintings that look just like comic books (Scherman 71).

Hypocrisy in The Scarlett Letter
HYPOCRISY IN THE SCARLET LETTER: The Scarlet Letter mainly revolves around sin and
hypocrisy. Every character in some way, shape or form is considered a hypocrite to some level/degree.
To start from the top and work our way downward, the officials. The officials in this book have such
horrid views of Hester. You d think that they have some sense of compassion or show remorse for
Hester but that was never the case. Overtime, it all dulled down her sin wasn t a big deal as opposed to
when it first occurred. Her sin wasn t forgotten but the depth in actions in which people would take to
make sure she felt miserable, faded away in quite sometime. The main characters each sin the words
in which Hawthorne uses in their dialect gives you a taste of their sins. Even the character to which is
highly praised by society is a sinner. Roger Chillingworth, Hester Prynne and Reverend Arthur
Dimmesdale are the perfect examples of hypocrisy in The Scarlet Letter. The way they re introduced
in the story and the way the story carries them out to be is outrageous. You begin to question their
motivates entirely. We can start off with the town s hypocrisy, in the quote There was a frequent and
characteristic demand for such labor as Hester Prynne could supply. It seems as if the only talent that

Comparison Between Boccaccio s The Decameron
In the community that Giovanni Boccaccio s The Decameron is set in, females are held at a lower
social ranking than males. As with most communities up till relatively recently in the past, women
were not permitted to have a significant role in the community, other than that of a wife and matriarch.
In The Decameron, Boccaccio shows that while they may not have notable social ranking, females do
have an advantage in most aspects of the male female relationship. Even though the tales deal with a
range of subjects, when Boccaccio makes a comparison between men and women, it is apparent that
he advocates women as the superior sex in terms of both right and wrong. When studying tales where
Boccaccio features male female relationships, it appears that females are dominant, more licentious,
and more guileful. Moreover, on the occasions where the male character attains victory or outshines
the female, the male typically reach success through deceitful means. For the most part, it is fair to say
that Boccaccio does depict women as surpassing men in many aspects−some favorable, and some in
the negative. Boccaccio describes women in The Decameron as being more robust than men. While
this trait is not as common in all of the tales, Boccaccio does exemplify that women endure more
hardship than males do. This escalated endurance for hardship may stem from a fundamental lack of
choices: if females are facing some adversity, they usually do not have the capacity to get rid of their

The Four Stages Of The Cell Cycle
The cell cycle has four main stages. The cell cycle is the regular pattern of growth. The four stages
consist of Gap 1 (G1), Synthesis (S), Gap 2 (G2), and Mitosis (M). Gap 1, consists of a cell that
carries its normal functions. Calls also increase in size, and the organelles increase in number. A cell
will spend the most time in this phase. But it also depends on the cell type to see how long it will
spend in this phase. During this phase the cell has to pass a critical checkpoint before it can continue
into the (S) stage, also called the Synthesis stage. It would be dangerous for a cell to keep dividing if
the certain conditions were not met. The cells in this stage also need signals from the other cells to tell
the if division is needed. Now the next stage is the Synthesis stage. During this phase the cell makes a
copy of it s nuclear DNA. By the end of the (S) phase DNA appears grainy in photos and the cell
nucleus contains two complete sets of DNA. Gap 2, is the third stage of the cell cycle. The cells
continue doing there thing and more growth occurs. This phase is like the checkpoint, everything in
the cell has to be going right for the cell to be able to enter mitosis. Mitosis is the fourth stage of the
cell cycle. It includes two phases mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis is the division of the cell s nucleus
and all it s contents. Cytokinesis is the process that divides the cell s cytoplasm. The stages of the cell
cycle and the proteins are all alike in all

Divine Reality In Hinduism
Hinduism is a religion practiced all over the world and has gained a large following. Hinduism got its
start in the Indus Valley civilization and since then has evolved into a open and tolerant religion upon
which every and anybody from all walks of life are welcome. In Hinduism there is a divine reality
which can best be described as all reality is ultimately one for monistic Hindus or that there is no
distinction between the divine reality and the rest of reality for dualistic Hindus. Either way it is put
Hindus try to understand divine reality through their different gods, images, nature, and avatars.
Dualistic Hindus try and understand divine reality through their many different gods. With that there is
a focus put onto the one god Brahman which Brood describes as, supreme, unitary reality, the ground
of all Being. (Brood et al., 2016). The monistic viewpoint of Brahman can best be described as the
belief that all reality is ultimately one. Brahman is, treated as a basic cosmic principle. (Hopkins,
1971). According to Hopkins in the, Atharva Veda, brahman is said to have the lowest and highest
forms and to be the womb of both the existent and the nonexistent. In 10.2 it is said that by brahman

Analyzing Audit And Fraud Risks
Analyzing Audit and Fraud Risks
Audit risk, as defined in SAS No. 47, under Audit Risk and Materiality in Conducting an Audit , is the
kind of risk that an auditor may unknowingly take by failing to make corrections as per their opinions
on financial statements that are materially misstated (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). SAS represents
audit risk in the form of a model that comprises three different risks. There is the control risk, the
inherent risk and detection risk. This is known as the Audit Risk Model (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur
34).
As a way of increasing awareness of possible fraud, SAS No. 82 Consideration of Fraud in a Financial
Statement Audit , was issued in 1997 (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). This SAS does not modify the
basic ARM, but it expands on the guidance for the auditor s consideration of material fraud in
conducting financial statement audits. The SAS increases an auditor s ability to detect fraud in an
organization.
Since the issuance of SAS No. 47, many other approaches of developing the ARM have been issued
(Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). One such approach is the belief function framework that is used to
model the audit planning and evaluation process for accounts receivable. While using such an
approach, it is easier to demonstrate the viability of the auditors. The approach also serves as an expert
system to automate belief functions propagations in networks. More so, sensitivity analyses have been

Incarceration In A Tale Of Two Cities
At the start of the novel, Manette has been recently released from the Bastille after a long
imprisonment. He is briefly given shelter in Paris by his former servant Ernest Defarge (who will
subsequently be a leader of the storming of the Bastille) and is then reunited with his daughter Lucie.
He does nothing but make shoes, a pastime that he adopted to distract himself from the tortures of
prison. He is clearly not in his right mind during this time; he speaks only when necessary, and has
become so used to being a prisoner that he can hardly bear light or freedom. As he overcomes his past

As Jarvis Lorry makes his way toward France to recover Manette, the narrator reflects that every
human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other. For much of the
novel, the cause of Manette s incarceration remains a mystery both to the other characters and to the
reader. Even when the story concerning the evil Marquis St. Evrémonde comes to light, the conditions
of Manette s imprisonment remain hidden. Though the reader never learns exactly how Manette
suffered, his relapses into trembling sessions of shoemaking evidence the depth of his misery. Like
Carton, Manette over the course of the novel, undergoes drastic change. He is transformed from an
insensate prisoner who mindlessly cobbles shoes into a man of distinction. The contemporary reader
tends to understand human individuals not as fixed entities but rather as impressionable and reactive
beings, affected and influenced by their surroundings and by the people with whom they interact. In
Dickens age, however, this notion was rather revolutionary. Manette s transformation testifies to the
tremendous impact of relationships and experience on life. The strength that he displays while
dedicating himself to rescuing Darnay seems to confirm the lesson that Carton learns by the end of the
novel that not only does

Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend
Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the war to end all
wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in this horrific war; special
qualities were developed throughout the war such as endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of
April the birth of the Anzac legend had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early
morning of the 1900s, they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish
soldiers. Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a result, no
one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical records show many different
perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs
had demonstrated courage, mateship and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper
in its purpose to motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops
made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were introduced such as
the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen conditions caused by feet remaining wet for
too long; if gangrene (progress) set in, the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This
shows determination, which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These
hard conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric Rapkins s Dairy.

open source intelligence (OSINT), with a view to determining whether the collection methods can be
ranked in terms of importance. To this end, this essay will describe SIGINT and OSINT, with a focus
on outlining the relative advantages and disadvantages of each method. It will be shown that any
attempt to rank collection methods in terms of their importance is only productive insofar as it is

Examples Of Power And Authority In The Hunger Games
Power and authority is the theme that I have chosen for my making connections essay. My four chosen
texts are the book series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the film series Harry Potter based on
the books by J.K Rowling, the film The Last of the Mohicans by Michael Mann and the book Private
Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo.
Authority is the right to give orders, make decisions and enforce obedience. Whereas power is the
possession of authority, control or an influence by which a person manipulates the actions of others.

that they know this. He continuously torments them and threatens them into obeying his every order.
So when Charlie disobeys a particularly ridiculous order, he is immediately charged with cowardice
and is sentenced to death.
While Magua did not achieve his goal of gaining authority, but instead got the revenge he needed,
Hanley had authority and used it as an advantage to get what he desired. Both Magua and Hanley are
determined in order to obtain what they want, no matter what it took them. Even if that meant taking
the lives of the innocent.
I have come to the conclusion that authority and power are two separate ideas but both relate together
as one concept. Power can reinforce authority and authority is one of the primary sources of power.
Bearing this in mind, I feel that these four texts use a wide range of different examples to portray this
theme of power and authority, which I believe was shown as a clear message to the readers or viewers
of any of these four texts. Every man who has power is impelled to abuse it. CHARLES DE

Transitions can positively or negatively impact on children and young people s development
depending on how they are supported and the change is managed. There are several types of transition
children and young people face, including, emotional, physical, physiological, and intellectual that if

This change can also means a physical transition because the child or young person may also have to
deal with going to a new school, and establishing new network of friends. If well managed this can be
positive transition. If the child is moved from an unstable, neglected home to a stable, warm and
loving one, it can have a good emotional effect and improve their sense of security and self worth.
Divorce/ Family Breakdown Changes to family circumstances can have a profound effect on children.
Separation or Divorce can leave the child with a sense of bereavement, like they have lost one of their
parents. They may feel angry or confused and worried about what will happen to them in the future.
They may also feel that they are in some way to blame for the family breakdown so carry a burden of
guilt. These negative emotions may lead to a lack of concentration at school, or exhibits themselves as
withdrawn or aggressive behaviours. In cases where a family breakdown is caused because on of the
adults have been abusive and/or violent to the other this can be a positive transition as the child or
young person will be taken out of a difficult home environment. PHYSICAL Moving house or area

Estate Administration
If you are acting as the executor of an estate, you have been trusted to fulfill each of the provisions

In many cases, disputes that arise during the probate process seriously undermine both the process

Public Shame Essay
Humiliation can be defined as a strong feeling of embarrassment or mortification (vocabulary.com).
Public humiliation, or public shame, has impacted the lives of many people around the world in that
novels and movies have been based around this harsh topic. The influence of public shame is harmful,
because it can cause terrible consequences, but on the other hand, there are benefits. For instance,
public humiliation can help people to learn from their mistakes, and it can teach valuable lessons to
the people who have done something wrong. In the Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, an

  • 3. Music Essay On Music And The Power Of Music Song Essay The power of music is as strong today as it has ever been before. Throughout history music has been a way for our people to speak out against the government or follow their commands. There is a great irony that a lot of these songs nowadays all tie together to portray the same message, and this is not a coincidence. Today, hip hop has taken the lead in protesting police brutality and the injustices suffered by the poor. Within the selection of songs, the audience can see how the government tries to control us, as well as how there is still much racism going on today. Joey s song, Temptations, explores the issue of racial equality and the struggle of being black in America. Growing up in a poor neighborhood not having your rent on time because your mom works a nine to five job that s just enough to make a living as a result of how the government has set up the average person to be, I really came up from the bottom / Strugglin , my momma on her last dollar / Hustling man I ve been putting in these hours / The government been trying to take away what s ours (line 18 21). In this song, Badmon describes how young men are killing one another, and figure that is the way to go about things because of culture but fail to really see what they are doing as well as who they are hurting. He also mentions how people make an example out of killing someone rather than spreading positivity and leaves you with the question of are you willing to make the sacrifice, to make a ... As Circuit Judge David Ebel stated in affirming a judgment in defendants favor on a substantive due process claim based upon the murder of a state employee in a state facility, this claim requires a plaintiff to demonstrate that the State acted in a manner that shock[s] the conscience. While Shahmaleki may have faced hardship from the University s decision, that hardship does not rise to the level of conscience shocking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Equal Protection claims based upon national origin are subject to close judicial scrutiny and generally such claims follow equal protection precedent concerning race. A plaintiff must show a discriminatory intent or purpose for a violation of the Equal protection Clause. A plaintiff cannot just allege a racially disproportionate impact, but must also allege a discriminatory purpose for that impact. This requires both a showing that the Defendants treated the plaintiff differently from others similar situated individuals and that such treatment was the result of intentional discrimination. This standard is heightened when it is against a supervisor and requires a specific intent to discriminate behind just being aware of the consequences of their action. Essentially, a plaintiff must show that the supervisor engaged in the discriminatory action because of the other person s race or national origin and not merely in spite of their race or ... • 5. Personal Narrative-Padre Island I jumped on my bed at 12 in the morning. I can t wait for tomorrow! It s going to be a tremendous day. My family; Dad, Mom, little brother Andrew and I, are going to South Padre Island early in the morning! I couldn t stop thinking about it. What am I going to be able to do there? How will the hotel look like? Pause. The list can go on and on, but first, I need some sleep. It s going to be a great time with my family. Ring! Ring! My alarm rang at 5:15 am. I enthusiastically ran downstairs trying to let my legs get moving. The first thing I see is loads of bags and luggage. Good morning, Ashley! Mom and Dad cheered at me. He learned of the power of music. Woodstock was stationed on a 600 acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York. Initially its purpose was for the founders to start their own label; it transformed into a cultural mecca for peace, love and antiwar sentiments. • 7. Lack Of Systemic Evaluation And Financial Resources Essay The very bare existence of any organization is profit maximization through a series of inputs maneuvered by a mixture of mechanical and human activity. Though businesses evaluate their machine via depreciation, human evaluation remains their only challenge. To face this challenge, Human resources managers and business leaders put together a system called: Employee Performance Appraisal which sets to evaluate employees on a yearly basis. This process often causes tension between employees and employers because it fails to do away with biases and prejudices. So, it is hardly ever that an employee receives a fair performance evaluation. Many kinds of bias can show up during the performance appraisal process. The most common ones occur when managers or appraisers compare two employees performance against each other while using only one form for each department, a process that discourages smart and strong employees from seeking higher ranks within. Some argue that lack of systemic evaluation and financial resources is to blame. The intent of this paper is to address the various kind of bias and show they affect negatively both the organization and its employees. When studying tales where Boccaccio features male female relationships, it appears that females are dominant, more licentious, and more guileful. Moreover, on the occasions where the male character attains victory or outshines the female, the male typically reach success through deceitful means. For the most part, it is fair to say that Boccaccio does depict women as surpassing men in many aspects−some favorable, and some in the negative. Boccaccio describes women in The Decameron as being more robust than men. While this trait is not as common in all of the tales, Boccaccio does exemplify that women endure more hardship than males do. This escalated endurance for hardship may stem from a fundamental lack of choices: if females are facing some adversity, they usually do not have the capacity to get rid of their ... • 28. The Four Stages Of The Cell Cycle The cell cycle has four main stages. The cell cycle is the regular pattern of growth. The four stages consist of Gap 1 (G1), Synthesis (S), Gap 2 (G2), and Mitosis (M). Gap 1, consists of a cell that carries its normal functions. Calls also increase in size, and the organelles increase in number. A cell will spend the most time in this phase. But it also depends on the cell type to see how long it will spend in this phase. During this phase the cell has to pass a critical checkpoint before it can continue into the (S) stage, also called the Synthesis stage. It would be dangerous for a cell to keep dividing if the certain conditions were not met. The cells in this stage also need signals from the other cells to tell the if division is needed. Now the next stage is the Synthesis stage. During this phase the cell makes a copy of it s nuclear DNA. By the end of the (S) phase DNA appears grainy in photos and the cell nucleus contains two complete sets of DNA. Gap 2, is the third stage of the cell cycle. The cells continue doing there thing and more growth occurs. This phase is like the checkpoint, everything in the cell has to be going right for the cell to be able to enter mitosis. Mitosis is the fourth stage of the cell cycle. It includes two phases mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis is the division of the cell s nucleus and all it s contents. Cytokinesis is the process that divides the cell s cytoplasm. The stages of the cell cycle and the proteins are all alike in all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hinduism got its start in the Indus Valley civilization and since then has evolved into a open and tolerant religion upon which every and anybody from all walks of life are welcome. Either way it is put Hindus try to understand divine reality through their different gods, images, nature, and avatars. Dualistic Hindus try and understand divine reality through their many different gods. With that there is a focus put onto the one god Brahman which Brood describes as, supreme, unitary reality, the ground of all Being. (Brood et al., 2016). The monistic viewpoint of Brahman can best be described as the belief that all reality is ultimately one. Brahman is, treated as a basic cosmic principle. (Hopkins, 1971). According to Hopkins in the, Atharva Veda, brahman is said to have the lowest and highest forms and to be the womb of both the existent and the nonexistent. In 10.2 it is said that by brahman the earth was disposed, as brahman the sky was set above, as brahman this atmosphere, the wide expanse, was set aloft and crosswise. (Hopkins, 1971). • 30. Analyzing Audit And Fraud Risks Analyzing Audit and Fraud Risks Audit risk, as defined in SAS No. 47, under Audit Risk and Materiality in Conducting an Audit , is the kind of risk that an auditor may unknowingly take by failing to make corrections as per their opinions on financial statements that are materially misstated (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). SAS represents audit risk in the form of a model that comprises three different risks. There is the control risk, the inherent risk and detection risk. This is known as the Audit Risk Model (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). As a way of increasing awareness of possible fraud, SAS No. 82 Consideration of Fraud in a Financial Statement Audit , was issued in 1997 (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). This SAS does not modify the basic ARM, but it expands on the guidance for the auditor s consideration of material fraud in conducting financial statement audits. The SAS increases an auditor s ability to detect fraud in an organization. Since the issuance of SAS No. 47, many other approaches of developing the ARM have been issued (Riahi Belkaoui, and Picur 34). One such approach is the belief function framework that is used to model the audit planning and evaluation process for accounts receivable. While using such an approach, it is easier to demonstrate the viability of the auditors. The approach also serves as an expert system to automate belief functions propagations in networks. He is briefly given shelter in Paris by his former servant Ernest Defarge (who will subsequently be a leader of the storming of the Bastille) and is then reunited with his daughter Lucie. He does nothing but make shoes, a pastime that he adopted to distract himself from the tortures of prison. He is clearly not in his right mind during this time; he speaks only when necessary, and has become so used to being a prisoner that he can hardly bear light or freedom. As he overcomes his past as a prisoner, due to his daughter s love and devotion to him, however, he resumes his occupation as a physician in England, and proves to be a kind, loving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Jarvis Lorry makes his way toward France to recover Manette, the narrator reflects that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other. For much of the novel, the cause of Manette s incarceration remains a mystery both to the other characters and to the reader. Even when the story concerning the evil Marquis St. Evrémonde comes to light, the conditions of Manette s imprisonment remain hidden. Though the reader never learns exactly how Manette suffered, his relapses into trembling sessions of shoemaking evidence the depth of his misery. Like Carton, Manette over the course of the novel, undergoes drastic change. He is transformed from an insensate prisoner who mindlessly cobbles shoes into a man of distinction. The contemporary reader tends to understand human individuals not as fixed entities but rather as impressionable and reactive beings, affected and influenced by their surroundings and by the people with whom they interact. In Dickens age, however, this notion was rather revolutionary. Manette s transformation testifies to the tremendous impact of relationships and experience on life. The strength that he displays while dedicating himself to rescuing Darnay seems to confirm the lesson that Carton learns by the end of the novel that not only does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the war to end all wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in this horrific war; special qualities were developed throughout the war such as endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of April the birth of the Anzac legend had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early morning of the 1900s, they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish soldiers. Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a result, no one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical records show many different perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs had demonstrated courage, mateship and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper in its purpose to motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were introduced such as the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen conditions caused by feet remaining wet for too long; if gangrene (progress) set in, the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This shows determination, which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These hard conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric Rapkins s Dairy. Eric ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So when Charlie disobeys a particularly ridiculous order, he is immediately charged with cowardice and is sentenced to death.
