A Study On Attending Law School
Attending law school has always been a part of the plan since I was twelve or thirteen years old.
My interest was probably sparked by Hollywood s interpretation of what it means to be a lawyer.
I grew up thinking every day of a lawyer s life was like an episode of Law Order. Needless to say,
while my desire to go to law school has remained, my motivations have definitely changed. In
May of 2014 I began working at the Philadelphia District Attorney s Office shortly after earning
my paralegal certificate from Widener University. I had previously studied criminal justice and
political science at the University of Delaware and took and interest in criminal prosecution.
The DA s office has recently taken over traffic court after several judges were charged with
fixing tickets in exchange for favors. Ten new paralegals were hired for the DA s new traffic
court unit, myself included. In the grand scheme of things, traffic violations can seem a bit trivial.
However, being a paralegal with the traffic court unit was a unique and eye opening experience
that revealed some fundamental truths about the justice system. It is these fundamental truths that
motivate me to continue my path in the legal field, and to pursue a law degree. As a traffic court
paralegal, I have face to face encounters with defendants on an almost daily basis. As one might
expect, there are a lot of traffic tickets issued in Philadelphia and, as a result, I have had

A Middle Age Monastery
The purpose of a middle age monastery is a sacred place where a monk, priest, etc. would devote
their will of serving or worship their God. It was a place to focus on the God they believe in and
leaves the outside world behind. To get away from the evil of the world and become closer to
God. Outsider were forbidden in the monastery because the evil from the outside will distract
them from their journey with their faith. Monastery comes from a greek word that means alone
or to live alone. An ordained member may feel alone, but should consider that there are other
members that are focus on being one with their God. Another feature that is a part of the
monastery is the cloister. Within the interior of the monastery would have a cloister. The
monastery cloister is an outside hallway that allow a pathway into an interior garden. Events
would occur in the cloister such as learning how to read and write. The reason for where its name
is from a Latin word that meant enclose. The main reason for the feature in the monastery is to all
these members to enjoy the outdoors without being tempted from the evils and distract them. There
would be manual labor in garden and that will help them keep their mind off the outside world evil.
Most of the time, the members would be in the temple pray to their God and do ceremonies. The
features of the monastery structure that is one of the most significant besides the chapel that is the
chapter house. The chapter house would be use to meeting

Modern Day Chromatsu Alternate Ending
The boy looked terrified, help! He called out, This guy is using magic! Choromatsu immediately
got up in a panic. How can he be so stupid? Was this all a trap
He didn t have time to think anymore, several men came out of the woods. There are four in all,
big and buff; they had their swords out. Choromatsu only knew a few defensive spells. He could
try to use his fire magic.
He muttered the words to the spell. He was about to finish his spell before someone puts a cloth
around his mouth. He started panicking, he kept clawing at the guy s arm. He started to feel dizzy.
His thoughts were scrambled, he couldn t think. His vision became dark. The last thing he saw

Totoko took a seat, the soldiers around stared at the captain, waiting for further orders. The man

pointing at. It was mostly surrounded by water and white huts, The brothers were spotted here by
soldiers that were guarding the area. Two brothers, believed to be Prince Ichimatsu and Prince
Jyushimatsu were beating them up for coins.
That was bullshit, and Totoko knew that. Jyushimatsu wouldn t attack anyone. Unless, he or his
brothers were threatened. Jyushimatsu wouldn t attack anyone, without any reason to do so.
Ichimatsu on the other hand, might.
Did they had contact with anyone besides the soldiers? Totoko asked, keeping calm. The soldiers
around her look surprised at her. What? They didn t think, she would cooperate?
Yes, actually. The captain eyed her carefully, waiting for any false move. He saw none so far,
Prince Jyushimatsu and Prince Ichimatsu were seen talking to a girl before they approached the
soldiers.

Changes In Ancient History
The reality of the phrase learn from your mistakes is one that is not often recognized. When
looking at the ancient history of the world, it is remarkable to notice the advancements of
specific societies, such as the Mayans and the Incans, have created. Not all advancements were
progressive, however. Some set the world back and made it difficult to recover from. Yet without
these failures, it d be harder to appreciate the successes that have been accomplished. Ancient
history gives the new generation the privilege to take the current problems of today, and solve
them efficiently while providing concrete evidence as to how similar problems were solved. The

Trump. I think it s clear that he wants no part of environmental progress, and I imagine the
damage from this election will be measured in geologic time. We will do what we can, but

Metalcraft Supplier Scorecard Case Study
In the case Metalcraft Supplier Scorecard , the author uses an example of a decision making
problem regarding to which supplier should Metalcraft choose to lead to the topic of the Metalcraft
supplier scorecard. Metalcraft, as a component designer and manufacturer, supplies a few largest
automobile manufacturers with vehicle parts all over the world. As one of the tier 1 suppliers,
Metalcraft offers and ships finished parts and components using in the automobile production
process to automakers.
Normally, the large automakers demand 0 defects from their suppliers. However, it is challenging
for Metalcraft to achieve extremely low defect rate and succeed among rivals. Therefore, to solve
the problem of control during the supply chain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In terms of using the Scorecard for plant quality engineers, Ellie Smith commented that although
the Scorecard improved the awareness about the performance of suppliers, it did not increase the
reactivity in the selection of suppliers because of the lack of detailed data and query functions
during the evaluating process. Moreover, the Scorecard did not incorporate with suppliers feedback
and Metalcraft also lacks process of evaluating the products of suppliers and make further
improvement. For example, one of the suppliers Jack Dawkins compliant that their products were
clean when left their company, however, it turns dirty when arrived at Metalcraft. Surprisingly, the
supplier did not have any chance to defend and explain the situation and Metalcraft rejected their
products without any discussion between the two companies. Metalcraft did not find a way to solve
the problem at that time rather showed inappropriate attitude to the supplier.
To improve the Metalcraft Supplier Scorecard, instead of focusing on the car line, it would be
helpful to increase data and query functions by product line and access though defects using
Microsoft Access system. Moreover, Metalcraft should increase the accessibility of the Supplier
Scorecard by massive advertising the system inside of the company because majority of the
engineers are not aware of the existence of the Scorecard. After the advertising, Metalcraft should
educate and train employees and suppliers how to use the

Overall, Japan developed into an overall better country. When the Meiji period ended, with the
death of the emperor in 1912, Japan had established an elected parliament, a well developed

established and rapidly growing industrial sector based on the latest technology, and a powerful

Being Googley Has Its Perks
In 1998, Google Inc., a company that did not actually exist, ( Google Inc. 2012 ) received their first
investment of $100,000. This small startup company, originally named Backrub, was founded by
two Stanford University PhD students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, in 1996. What started out as
an internet search engine utilized by the students at Stanford University, became the world s largest
search engine in 2000. In just 4 years these two students took a research project and turned it into
a profitable business, which is now a part of everyday life for most people in the world. The startup
story of Google is an impressive one, but more impressive than that is the environment in which
the employees work. According to Jorgen Sundberg (2014) of Undercover Recruiter, jobs at
Google are the most sought after careers in the Silicon Valley. 1 in 4 young professionals want
to work at Google, but fewer than 1 in 250 applicants will ever work at the company. (В¶ 1)

treatment, all psychologists give up talking with him because of his stubborn characteristic until
he meets Sean Maguire played by Robin Williams. Sean is the only person who is able to guide

At the time that Arthur called a halt to Gaius s execution, coolly postponing his father s judgement

s boldness had surprised her. Not that she had ever doubted his courage, but it was the first time

Points are scored when after serving the ball, the server wins the rally. If the player returning
serve wins the rally, no points are scored for either player, and the player who won the rally
retains the right to serve. Keeping the ball low and hitting it high gives the opponent time to get
to the ball before it bounces twice. Once the ball is in play, each player hits the ball back and
forth until one misses the ball, hits an illegal shot or goes out of bounds. The objective is earn
points or win the serve each player must try end the rally. To end a rally, a player s shot hits the
front wall at its lowest point, causing the ball to go out of bounds rather than bounce back into
the playing area; this is call a kill shot or a rollout. Rallies end with an error, or if the ball makes
contact with the floor before reaching the wall. The walls and ceilings can be used for shot
variations. The key to a great shot is to grip your racquet firmly. Many shots will fall short
because of an improper grip and the racquet ends up at the wrong angle when it actually makes
contact with the ball. A firm grip will make your shots faster and more accurate. Using the wall

Police Brutality a Violation of Human Rights
Police brutality is one of the most serious human rights violations in the United States and it occurs
everywhere. The reason why I chose this topic is because police brutality happens all the time in
the United States and still remains unrecognized by many. Additionally, the public should be
knowledgeable about this topic because of how serious this crimecan be and the serious outcomes
that policebrutality can have on other police officers and the public. The job of police officers is to
maintain public order, prevent, and detect crimes. They are involved in very dangerous and
stressful occupations that can involve violent situations that must be stopped and controlled by any

They prefer to keep all of those types of things private. Even if an officer is caught using
excessive force, the bill of rights limit the abilities of a police commissioner or chief to suspend
the officer that is being accused , and requires that the suspended officer continues to get their
benefits and pay. Most of the time there s nothing that can be done to properly punish an officer
who abuses their power due to the fact that the officers won t tell on each other. Newspapers,
television stations and tabloids are getting involved in the sensitive subject of police brutality. It is
more common to turn on a television or read a paper and
see headlines like, Police officer brutally beats a homeless man for example. There are many
cases of the police using excessive force and corruption within a department and even debates on
whether high speed pursuits are necessary (Deshon, 2000). It can be that officers may not have a
full understanding of their oath of office or the ethical code they attained. It could also be that
they are corrupt cops. Officers go through training and in doing so are also educated on the ethical
behaviors and oath of an officer. Police agencies all take the same oath.
Police brutality in the United States, is a problem that must be solved. It all begins with the police
and civilians trusting one another. Just like the words that can be seen on the side of an NYPD

Becoming An Adult- Chronic Stressor
1.
School classes Daily hassle
Becoming an adult Chronic stressor
Deciding on a college Stressful event
Money Situations Chronic stressor
Family Problems Chronic stressor
2. There are many factors that could lead to the cause of a person s stress response. One includes
any life events or change to a person. Any transition that causes you to change and adjust your
life style can cause a great amount of stress, being that you cant go day to day like you may be
use to. Whether it may be a positive or negative, it tends to be stress producing. In my view i m
optimistic about this and try to see the bright side to things that may change my daily routine and
think of it as it happened for the best. Another factor that may cause a persons stress is somehow
being a part of a traumatic event. Events such as sexual assault, violence, or even unexpected loss
of a loved one can stress a person out so much that it changes the view of their life completely and
can cause changes in ways they carry themselves. It can cause symptoms such as nervousness and
symptoms of anxiety which escalate the amount of stress they experience. Daily hassles is
common for everyones stress. Minor things that seem to annoy or upset a person such as traffic
on the way to work or misplacing your shoes causes a hit of stress to go through your body.
Gender usually plays a factor in what causes a person to stress daily. Woman are more likely to

The Keystone Xl ( Kxl ) Pipeline
In the October of 2015, oil prices have dropped to their lowest since 2008 and Canada has lost
over 35,000 jobs, and the value of the loonie has dropped to a mere 77 cents compared to the U.S.
Dollar. As Canada desperately clings onto the failing economy, it turns its attention to The
Keystone Pipelines. The Keystone XL (KXL) pipeline was an idea proposed in 2008 by the
TransCanada energy company, to deliver 830,000 barrels of oil each day beginning in Hardisty,
Alberta, and extending south to Steele City, Nebraska. TransCanada claims to bring more jobs,
energy security, and benefit to the Canadian and American economy. Yet, President Obama denied

The main reason President Obama rejected the proposal of Keystone XL was due to environment
concerns. As quoted from Salon News President Obama s decision to deny permission for

A Comprehensive Analysis Of Online Gambling Essay
The cheap and accessible Internet combined with the growing confidence of consumers in online
commerce has enabled the increasing popularity of interactive gambling which is defined as online
and remote wagering and gaming through interactive media devices (Gainsbury, Russell, Hing,
Wood, Lubman Blacszczynski, 2015). In fact, despite its relatively new history, the industry has
significantly grown in the last few years, accounting for approximately 10% in the worldwide
gamblingindustry and been expected to steadily flourish in the foreseeable future (Global Betting
and Gaming Consultants, 2011). However, the rapid growth of interactive gambling outpacing the
laws and the complex nature of the Internet has given rise to a great number of concerns around the
negative aspects that it can bring to the economy and society (Gainsbury, 2012). A thorough and
critical understanding of these disadvantages is crucial, especially in a country, whereas people are
highly involved in gambling and increasingly participate in online gamblinglike Australia

Supplier Power * As long as Google continues its dominance as the number one internet search
engine in the world, supplier bargaining power will remain low. * Thanks to programs like

Threat of Substitution * With such a position of dominance within the internet search engine
industry, Google has positioned itself well for long term success on the internet. * Technology
wise, there may be some threat to the Android phone, that Google has developed as there are other
brands of phones available that may be cheaper in price, but do not possess the same applications
or operating systems that the Android phone does. * Software wise, none of the companies that
Google has competed against could hope to compete against the software that Google has produced
and allows its clients to utilize: Google Analytics, Google Maps, iGoogle, YouTube, Gmail etc. The
threat of substitution would also be made hard by the fact that Google constantly is updating and
improving their software.
Threat of New Entry * The threat of a new entry into the markets that Google has established itself
in is very minimal. * A company looking to challenge Google in its market would need a massive
amount of financial resources to build the start up network infrastructure that would allow it to
compete with Google and the services and products that Google has to offer. * The new entrant
would also be facing the challenge of having to maintain and update/upgrade their services and
products at a rate

Wax moth larvae is a species of caterpillar which has a surprising ability: to degrade plastic waste!
One hundred of these worms can degrade ninety two milligrams of polyethylene, which is the
hardest to degrade plastic, as well as the most common. Wax moth larvae, also known as Galleria
mellonella will be a valuable research topic in the coming years. Additionally, these organisms
come with a plethora of information on how plastic can finally be properly disposed of. How
scientists discovered the abilities of the wax moth larvae is actually quite comical. Spanish

Causes Of Villain In Frankenstein
On the face of this gothic novel is a tale about a terrible creature that committed hideous acts against
the society. Most readers believe that the monster is the story s villain Contrary to this, the hidden
but true villain is Victor Frankenstein because the fateful events are the repercussions of his
reckless and irresponsible behavior. Victor Frankensteindid not directly kill his lovely family.
However, he is the only one to blame and only cause of the deathly catastrophe through the monster
s creation, his lack of responsibility for the monster, his isolation from the world resulting in the
creature s freedom to roam about at its pleasure neglected and unattended. Therefore Victor
Frankenstein was the root cause of the ruin of his family, his creation and eventually his very own
life.
At first, even before the monster s creation, Frankenstein s physical and mental health is already
in a poor state because of his infatuation with the experiment. Every night I was oppressed by a
slow fever, and I became nervous to a most painful degree...sometimes I grew alarmed at the
wreck I perceived that I had become (Shelly 42.) This points to Victor as the sole perpetrator in his
pain as he seeks knowledge. His physical and mental condition continue to deteriorate as the story

Why Is Memorial Important
Memorials and monuments are important because they offer a method of recognizing and
celebrating notable figures achievements. There are more complications when constructing
memorials and monuments than people think. Agencies that construct memorials need to take into
account the demands of various people in order to satisfy their concerns. Once the agencies can
establish a plan for a monumentthat has a neutral position, then they should begin to create them.
Agencies should think about the significance, controversy, location, and the emotional connection
when constructing a monument or memorial. Foremost, the significance of a monument is an
important element. The agencies responsible for making the memorials need to question the story
behind the monument to make sure it is something that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is worth recognizing Lincoln for his achievement in ending the American Civil War and
outlawing slavery in the United States. Through the statue the feeling of authority and greatness is
conveyed to the audience who stands before it and reads the text of the two speeches. While it
can be easy to read Lincoln s most famous speech in a history textbook, the experience of seeing
the actual monument itself is much more powerful. The significance of the statues need to matter

The Statue of Liberty represents the idea of freedom and democracy which is what the United

Social Action At The Lower East Side Tenement Museum
Case study 3: Social action at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum
Ruth J. Abram, who wanted to create a museum centered upon an experience common to the
majority of Americans, founded the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Abram believed that the
immigrant experience was something that diverse groups of people could relate to and unite
together on, moving Americans to participate in a national conversation with similarly situated,
contemporary immigrants and other outsiders (Abram 2005:21). As we can see, Abram has been
dedicated from the start to civic engagement through community collaboration.
Abram continually ensures that the museum has the resources and insight needed for community
engagement. This is done in several ways. For instance, Abram and the Board of Trustees are
committed to ensuring that there is funding for not only the various programs the museum engage
in, but also for the staff s needs. They are committed to having a diverse and inclusive team,
comprised of individuals from multiple backgrounds. Furthermore, they have 32 full time staff
positions and 30 part time docents (Abram 2005). It is this kind of commitment that has contributed
to successful and sustainable community collaboration. Staff members often speak more than one
language and have experienced many of the same issues that past and present immigrants have
faced such as welfare (Abram 2005). This brings in diverse experiences and stories into the
museum space.

Multicultural In Canada
Development of Canada as a multicultural nation
In the early half of the 20th century, Canada was not known to be socially accepting of different
races, nor were a lot of countries in the world at the time. However, after World War II, everything
started to change. People started to stand up to these unfair rules, like the African Canadians and
First Nations did. In other cases, like the Vietnamese, they were gradually accepted into the
Canadian Society. Throughout all the ups and downs, protests and court rulings, we can look back
and thank this era for the diversity they created in Canada. The First Nations and the African
Canadian issues were significant, but the biggest clue that signified social change in Canada was

Though the first nations had operated on Canadian soil long before any Europeans settled on the
land, they were still disregarded in terms of importance in the early 20th century: Aboriginal
policy was made by government without consulting Aboriginal people and with little public
attention . This quote shows how First Nations people had no voice when it came to decisions
made about them, or anything else in Canada for that matter. Aboriginals hated that they were
being taken advantage of, and they felt like they were just a pawn in the government s game of
chess. However, this started to change in the 1950s when public opinion became more informed
and disturbed about Aboriginal poverty and marginality . The Aboriginals voice was finally heard
in 1951, where the Indian Act was revised. Aboriginal representatives looked to further revise the
Act in 1968, but the Government had other plans. In the Summer of 1969, the Government releases
its proposal of The White Paper , which was a plan to terminate the Indian Act, and therefore Indian
status, within the next 5 years. The Aboriginals refused to give in to the government s wishes, and
fought hard to convince them of a different approach. The Government now saw for the first time
of how the First Nations could put up a good fight. The government, who was now faced with
multiple tough decisions, retreated on their harsh demands and

Paul Bogard s Let There Be Dark
In his article Let There Be Dark , Paul Bogard builds a persuasive argument through a series of
effective examples that natural darkness needs to be preserved. To prove his main argument,
Bogard implements facts and statistics about the negative effects of light pollution such as the
carcinogenic effects of a lack of darkness, the dependency of flora and fauna on natural darkness,
and the inspiration sparked through the stillness provided by darkness. Even though humans are the
only living things contributing to artificial lightat night, the decreasing amount of natural darkness
is negatively affecting people s health. For most people, this problem does not seem evident,
since we still spend about eight hours every day sleeping in darkness. Bogard makes this issue
seem more tangible by classifying the job of working the night shift as a carcinogen, stating that
our bodies need darkness to produce the hormone melatonin, which keeps certain cancers from
developing, and our bodies need darkness for sleep. Even with numerous vaccines and innovative
treatments, cancer remains to be everyone s worst nightmare. This example is effective because it

one of the many benefits of natural darkness. While a negative quality, people tend to change their
ways only if they find personal benefit towards it. Bogard s decision to demonstrate how bats, an

A Comparison Of Love In The Birthmark And Feathertop By...
Love is a mysterious feeling that varies for each relationship. Some relationships have a very deep
love, where the only thing that matters is personality. In these relationships, the people have a
strong emotional bond because it doesn t matter what visual flaws the person has; the connection
keeps them close. A surface deep relationship lacks this connection, and will not last. Once
someone in a surface deep relationship finds a simple flaw, they will not be able to overcome that
flaw and the relationship will deteriorate. Nathaniel Hawthorne had a beautiful wife named Sophia,
and he loved her dearly. In Hawthorne s first journal entry, he wrote that Sophia was the only
sunshine in the world. (Page 1) However, in Hawthorne s writings, The Birthmark and Feathertop

the emerging technologies and overcoming countermeasures.
Many computer security experts question the possibility that the Internet could be used to inflict
death on a large scale. Some precautions have been made. Systems have been established in the
last five years, which aim at preventing a possible cyber terrorism attack. Air gapping has been
established on all nuclear weapons, meaning the weapons are not connected to the Internet or any
open computer network and cannot be accessed by intruders or terrorists. Still, other areas of
concern include subways, gas lines, power grids and communication systems; which are owned
primarily by the private sector and are managed by Internet enabled computer systems.

Natural Law Theorists And Positivist Theorists
To what degree are natural law theorists and positivist theorists accurate in terms of the idea that
an unjust law cannot be a valid law ? In this essay i will assess the accuracy of this statement and
attempt to define the concept of the validity of law in relation to both natural law theorists and
positivist theorists. For the purpose of this essay I will define validity of a law as Having legal
force; effective or binding (The Free Dictionary). The main reason for the continual debate
between both theories is that they are both very similar although they may appear to be at
contrary ends of each spectrum. Natural law theorists believe that in order for a law to be valid
it must have some moral principle therefore if laws which are enacted in statues have no
authority, they are not moral. Whereas positivists support and emphasise the importance of a
division between morality and law. I will begin by outlining both theories. I will then move onto
asses the accuracy of the following statement, An unjust law cannot be a valid law this includes
establishing the similarities and differences of both theories; in order to do this effectively it is
essential that a thorough understanding of both theories has been developed. Finally I will
summarise my findings, An unjust law cannot be a valid law true or false? The first question we
need to address in order to be able to assess this statement is what is natural law? The basic concept
of natural law is that in order for a

The pressure of western society and the crisis of losing one s culture and identity is

Gender Roles Of Men And Women
Roles of Males and Females in Different Television Programs
Americans watch an alarming amount of television starting from a young age. The average
American watches five hours of television a day (Koblin 2016). This enormous amount of media
input influences perceptions and is connected to cementing many things in people, such as gender
roles. Gender roles are thoughts, actions, and feelings learned by a person fitting their gender due
to cultural norms (Santrock 2016). Additionally, stereotypes appeal to people s emotions and
television shows are infamous for relying on them due to lack of time for character development
(Signorielli 2001). Different television show categories reflect roles and representations of males
and females in both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also parallels the Signorielli article s findings that children s shows fare better than cartoons
but still convey a noticeably uneven representation (Signorielli 2001). Also in congruence with the
Signorielli article, situational comedies score the best in equal representation (Signorielli 2001). In
my findings, Friends was the only show to have true equal representation and the other situational
comedy viewed, Seinfeld, has more main male characters but there is an overall greater flexibility
in gender roles. Notably, it is easier to include females in situational comedies to create more humor
due to the stereotyped emotions and victim role that provides comical plots.
Female and Male Stereotypes
The issue of the underrepresentation of females is further worsened in the television shows through
the gender stereotypes. Women are viewed as more youthful, domestic, emotional, affectionate, and
more emphasis is placed on beauty (Signorielli 2001). In Seinfeld, the only major female character,
Elaine, is seen as helpless, emotional, and nagging. In the episode, The Little Kicks , although her
profession of lead editor is non traditional, female stereotypes are implemented by her feeling lost
and going insane from her staff acting differently towards her because she had embarrassing dance
moves at the company party (Feresten Ackerman

Argumentative Essay On Sex Education
Transitioning from childhood to teenage years is already awkward enough for most girls, but the
talk is unbearable for some. Little do these young minds know that the scariest part of sex education
is the lack of accurate and detailed information. A shortage of information on their own bodies can
have grim effects on their sexuality later in life. Inadequate sex education for adolescents has
consequently set the foundation for an orgasminequality, favoring men over women. The nation s
incomplete standards for sex education has consistently failed young women in teaching them
enough about their own anatomies. An interview has been conducted with an 18 year old
cisgendered woman named Carly. The purpose was to study how well an average young woman
knows herself and her own sexuality. Carly completed sex education in the state of Wisconsin.
Currently in the united states there are no federal laws that dictate a uniform sexual health
education curriculum (Koepsel 2016). How, and what is taught is left to each of the individual
states (Koepsel 2016). As a result, a range of information is being taught to Americans, but it may
or not be favorable to the student s well being. It seems rather controversial that local governments,
which students can rarely participate in, choose the fate of their sexual health education. It is an
unfair system that ultimately allows only those who have had extensive and medically accurate
education a future in sexual well being. Carly explained

A Free Man By Thomas Jefferson And Sally Hemings
Imagine living a life in slavery, where you have a limited freedom and society constantly looks
down on you. If you had the opportunity to be a free man, would you take it or would you come
running back to becoming a slave? Two of Thomas Jefferson s slaves, James Hemings and Sally
Hemings had to make this decision in 1789. James and Sally are part of a family that held
various high positions at Monticello, Jefferson s plantation. Martha Jefferson, Jefferson s wife,
was step siblings with James and Sally. When Jefferson was called to be the U.S. minister in
France, he called upon James to come with him to serve as his servant. Two years later, Sally
followed accompanying Jefferson s youngest daughter, Polly to France. While in France, James
and Sally were considered free due to the Freedom Principle. This states that any slave who sets
foot in France is now considered a free man. Jefferson chose James specifically to come with him
to France because he knew that James wanted to be chef and France was the perfect place to
enhance his culinary skills. Not only did Jefferson pay for James training but he also gave
James a salary that was more than the average salary of anyone in his profession. There are those
who believe that James loyalty to Jefferson was a valid reason to stay; however, I believe James
unwisely chose to leave behind the booming city of Paris and his personal freedom. This paper

Animal Abuse And Human Abuse
For years people have been abusing animals. So much so, that there are commercials and
organizations dedicated to stopping the abuse of animals. It seems like everyday we turn on the
news and hear stories of a person burning a kitten or someone shooting a puppy, but why do these
people feel the need to do that to these helpless animals? Is there something deeper than just
animal abuse? The types of animal abuse these helpless victim faces are similar to the same type
of abuse children face. Animals are sexually abused, physically abused, neglected and even
psychologically abused, but it does not seem to be taken as seriously as human abuse. Domestic
violence, school shootings, murders and other forms of violence are also topics that seem to come
up far too often in everyday life. These criminals that have committed heinous crimes against
humans all got their start somewhere, and for many of them animals were where their abuses
started. This paper will discuss what animal abuse is, how animal abuse and violence are linked,
how people evolve into the criminals they are today through some sort of animal abuse, the warning
signs of future abuse, and how we can help these mentally ill individuals. Animal abuse, defined by

antibiotics prescribed to patients are unnecessary (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
2016). Overutilization of antibiotics is a growing problem due to some patients inappropriate
demands for antibiotics or misdiagnoses by prescribers, however, underutilization of antibiotics can
be just as problematic. Physicians are trained to use good antimicrobial stewardship when
prescribing antibiotics; only giving them to patients who truly do have a bacterial infection. This
becomes an issue when providers are too cautious and do not prescribe antibiotics in an attempt not
to contribute to antibiotic resistance. Unfortunately, this caution could have a detrimental effect on
the health of patients who actually need the antibiotics. To combat this issue, we must find a
balance between good antimicrobial stewardship to minimize resistance while also taking
underutilization into consideration. We, as pharmacists, are at a unique position between the
physician and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While stewardship is extremely important to slow the rate of resistance, we must also make sure
that patients in need of antimicrobial therapy receive the treatment they need. Price of medication
and overly cautious prescribers are two of many barriers that patients may experience; as clinicians
it s important that we do our part to promote appropriate and affordable treatments. Ideally,
prescribers could determine the exact pathogen using a swab or culture of the infected tissue. This
would prevent misdiagnoses and reduce unnecessary costs to the

  • 2. A Study On Attending Law School Attending law school has always been a part of the plan since I was twelve or thirteen years old. My interest was probably sparked by Hollywood s interpretation of what it means to be a lawyer. I grew up thinking every day of a lawyer s life was like an episode of Law Order. Needless to say, while my desire to go to law school has remained, my motivations have definitely changed. In May of 2014 I began working at the Philadelphia District Attorney s Office shortly after earning my paralegal certificate from Widener University. I had previously studied criminal justice and political science at the University of Delaware and took and interest in criminal prosecution. The DA s office has recently taken over traffic court after several judges were charged with fixing tickets in exchange for favors. Ten new paralegals were hired for the DA s new traffic court unit, myself included. In the grand scheme of things, traffic violations can seem a bit trivial. However, being a paralegal with the traffic court unit was a unique and eye opening experience that revealed some fundamental truths about the justice system. It is these fundamental truths that motivate me to continue my path in the legal field, and to pursue a law degree. As a traffic court paralegal, I have face to face encounters with defendants on an almost daily basis. As one might expect, there are a lot of traffic tickets issued in Philadelphia and, as a result, I have had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An ordained member may feel alone, but should consider that there are other members that are focus on being one with their God. Another feature that is a part of the monastery is the cloister. Within the interior of the monastery would have a cloister. The monastery cloister is an outside hallway that allow a pathway into an interior garden. Events would occur in the cloister such as learning how to read and write. The reason for where its name is from a Latin word that meant enclose. The main reason for the feature in the monastery is to all these members to enjoy the outdoors without being tempted from the evils and distract them. There would be manual labor in garden and that will help them keep their mind off the outside world evil. Most of the time, the members would be in the temple pray to their God and do ceremonies. There are more complications when constructing memorials and monuments than people think. Agencies that construct memorials need to take into account the demands of various people in order to satisfy their concerns. Once the agencies can establish a plan for a monumentthat has a neutral position, then they should begin to create them. Agencies should think about the significance, controversy, location, and the emotional connection when constructing a monument or memorial. Foremost, the significance of a monument is an important element. The agencies responsible for making the memorials need to question the story behind the monument to make sure it is something that... Through the statue the feeling of authority and greatness is conveyed to the audience who stands before it and reads the text of the two speeches. The significance of the statues need to matter to people or else there is no point in celebrating the the person or thing who was made into a monument. Similar to the Lincoln Memorial, the Statue of Liberty s significance is of importance. The Statue of Liberty represents the idea of freedom and democracy which is what the United States values greatly. When the Statue of Liberty was designed the architects wanted to create a symbol for the United States that would embody freedom. Through the use of the depiction of the Roman goddess Libertas they were able to accomplish that. The meaning has to be taken into account, if not the memorial can become like The Maine Lobsterman . Abram, who wanted to create a museum centered upon an experience common to the majority of Americans, founded the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Abram believed that the immigrant experience was something that diverse groups of people could relate to and unite together on, moving Americans to participate in a national conversation with similarly situated, contemporary immigrants and other outsiders (Abram 2005:21). As we can see, Abram has been dedicated from the start to civic engagement through community collaboration. Abram continually ensures that the museum has the resources and insight needed for community engagement. This is done in several ways. For instance, Abram and the Board of Trustees are committed to ensuring that there is funding for not only the various programs the museum engage in, but also for the staff s needs. They are committed to having a diverse and inclusive team, comprised of individuals from multiple backgrounds. Furthermore, they have 32 full time staff positions and 30 part time docents (Abram 2005). It is this kind of commitment that has contributed to successful and sustainable community collaboration. Staff members often speak more than one language and have experienced many of the same issues that past and present immigrants have faced such as welfare (Abram 2005). This brings in diverse experiences and stories into the museum space. As Abram has pointed out The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Multicultural In Canada Development of Canada as a multicultural nation In the early half of the 20th century, Canada was not known to be socially accepting of different races, nor were a lot of countries in the world at the time. However, after World War II, everything started to change. People started to stand up to these unfair rules, like the African Canadians and First Nations did. In other cases, like the Vietnamese, they were gradually accepted into the Canadian Society. Though the first nations had operated on Canadian soil long before any Europeans settled on the land, they were still disregarded in terms of importance in the early 20th century: Aboriginal policy was made by government without consulting Aboriginal people and with little public attention . This quote shows how First Nations people had no voice when it came to decisions made about them, or anything else in Canada for that matter. Aboriginals hated that they were being taken advantage of, and they felt like they were just a pawn in the government s game of chess. However, this started to change in the 1950s when public opinion became more informed and disturbed about Aboriginal poverty and marginality . The Aboriginals voice was finally heard in 1951, where the Indian Act was revised. Aboriginal representatives looked to further revise the Act in 1968, but the Government had other plans. In the Summer of 1969, the Government releases its proposal of The White Paper , which was a plan to terminate the Indian Act, and therefore Indian status, within the next 5 years. The Aboriginals refused to give in to the government s wishes, and fought hard to convince them of a different approach. The Government now saw for the first time of how the First Nations could put up a good fight. The government, who was now faced with multiple tough decisions, retreated on their harsh demands and ... • 30. Paul Bogard s Let There Be Dark In his article Let There Be Dark , Paul Bogard builds a persuasive argument through a series of effective examples that natural darkness needs to be preserved. To prove his main argument, Bogard implements facts and statistics about the negative effects of light pollution such as the carcinogenic effects of a lack of darkness, the dependency of flora and fauna on natural darkness, and the inspiration sparked through the stillness provided by darkness. Even though humans are the only living things contributing to artificial lightat night, the decreasing amount of natural darkness is negatively affecting people s health. For most people, this problem does not seem evident, since we still spend about eight hours every day sleeping in darkness. Bogard makes this issue seem more tangible by classifying the job of working the night shift as a carcinogen, stating that our bodies need darkness to produce the hormone melatonin, which keeps certain cancers from developing, and our bodies need darkness for sleep. Even with numerous vaccines and innovative treatments, cancer remains to be everyone s worst nightmare. This example is effective because it uses pathos to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 31. A Comparison Of Love In The Birthmark And Feathertop By... Love is a mysterious feeling that varies for each relationship. Some relationships have a very deep love, where the only thing that matters is personality. In these relationships, the people have a strong emotional bond because it doesn t matter what visual flaws the person has; the connection keeps them close. A surface deep relationship lacks this connection, and will not last. Once someone in a surface deep relationship finds a simple flaw, they will not be able to overcome that flaw and the relationship will deteriorate. Nathaniel Hawthorne had a beautiful wife named Sophia, and he loved her dearly. In Hawthorne s first journal entry, he wrote that Sophia was the only sunshine in the world. • 33. Natural Law Theorists And Positivist Theorists To what degree are natural law theorists and positivist theorists accurate in terms of the idea that an unjust law cannot be a valid law ? In this essay i will assess the accuracy of this statement and attempt to define the concept of the validity of law in relation to both natural law theorists and positivist theorists. For the purpose of this essay I will define validity of a law as Having legal force; effective or binding (The Free Dictionary). The main reason for the continual debate between both theories is that they are both very similar although they may appear to be at contrary ends of each spectrum. Natural law theorists believe that in order for a law to be valid it must have some moral principle therefore if laws which are enacted in statues have no authority, they are not moral. Whereas positivists support and emphasise the importance of a division between morality and law. I will begin by outlining both theories. I will then move onto asses the accuracy of the following statement, An unjust law cannot be a valid law this includes establishing the similarities and differences of both theories; in order to do this effectively it is essential that a thorough understanding of both theories has been developed. Finally I will summarise my findings, An unjust law cannot be a valid law true or false? The first question we need to address in order to be able to assess this statement is what is natural law? The basic concept of natural law is that in order for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The average American watches five hours of television a day (Koblin 2016). Gender roles are thoughts, actions, and feelings learned by a person fitting their gender due to cultural norms (Santrock 2016). This also parallels the Signorielli article s findings that children s shows fare better than cartoons but still convey a noticeably uneven representation (Signorielli 2001). Also in congruence with the Signorielli article, situational comedies score the best in equal representation (Signorielli 2001). In my findings, Friends was the only show to have true equal representation and the other situational comedy viewed, Seinfeld, has more main male characters but there is an overall greater flexibility in gender roles. Notably, it is easier to include females in situational comedies to create more humor due to the stereotyped emotions and victim role that provides comical plots. Female and Male Stereotypes The issue of the underrepresentation of females is further worsened in the television shows through the gender stereotypes. Women are viewed as more youthful, domestic, emotional, affectionate, and more emphasis is placed on beauty (Signorielli 2001). In Seinfeld, the only major female character, Elaine, is seen as helpless, emotional, and nagging. • 37. Argumentative Essay On Sex Education Transitioning from childhood to teenage years is already awkward enough for most girls, but the talk is unbearable for some. Little do these young minds know that the scariest part of sex education is the lack of accurate and detailed information. A shortage of information on their own bodies can have grim effects on their sexuality later in life. Inadequate sex education for adolescents has consequently set the foundation for an orgasminequality, favoring men over women. The nation s incomplete standards for sex education has consistently failed young women in teaching them enough about their own anatomies. An interview has been conducted with an 18 year old cisgendered woman named Carly. The purpose was to study how well an average young woman knows herself and her own sexuality. Carly completed sex education in the state of Wisconsin. Currently in the united states there are no federal laws that dictate a uniform sexual health education curriculum (Koepsel 2016). How, and what is taught is left to each of the individual states (Koepsel 2016). As a result, a range of information is being taught to Americans, but it may or not be favorable to the student s well being. It seems rather controversial that local governments, which students can rarely participate in, choose the fate of their sexual health education. It is an unfair system that ultimately allows only those who have had extensive and medically accurate education a future in sexual well being. Carly explained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you had the opportunity to be a free man, would you take it or would you come running back to becoming a slave? Two of Thomas Jefferson s slaves, James Hemings and Sally Hemings had to make this decision in 1789. James and Sally are part of a family that held various high positions at Monticello, Jefferson s plantation. Martha Jefferson, Jefferson s wife, was step siblings with James and Sally. When Jefferson was called to be the U.S. minister in France, he called upon James to come with him to serve as his servant. Two years later, Sally followed accompanying Jefferson s youngest daughter, Polly to France. While in France, James and Sally were considered free due to the Freedom Principle. This states that any slave who sets foot in France is now considered a free man. Jefferson chose James specifically to come with him to France because he knew that James wanted to be chef and France was the perfect place to enhance his culinary skills. Not only did Jefferson pay for James training but he also gave James a salary that was more than the average salary of anyone in his profession. There are those who believe that James loyalty to Jefferson was a valid reason to stay; however, I believe James unwisely chose to leave behind the booming city of Paris and his personal freedom. • 41. Antimicrobial Stewardship Antibiotic resistance is becoming a more prevalent issue. This is a growing dilemma because, not only do patients have the potential to develop resistance, but they also can transmit the resistant bacteria to others (McKellar, 2014). Additionally, it is estimated that over one third of all antibiotics prescribed to patients are unnecessary (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Overutilization of antibiotics is a growing problem due to some patients inappropriate demands for antibiotics or misdiagnoses by prescribers, however, underutilization of antibiotics can be just as problematic. Physicians are trained to use good antimicrobial stewardship when prescribing antibiotics; only giving them to patients who truly do have a bacterial infection. This becomes an issue when providers are too cautious and do not prescribe antibiotics in an attempt not to contribute to antibiotic resistance. Unfortunately, this caution could have a detrimental effect on the health of patients who actually need the antibiotics.
