North Dakota Adventure
Life Adventure in North Dakota
In the 19th century someone quoted that, Money doesn t grow on trees. Whoever this person was; He
or she was very wise. In 2013, I was going to college for culinary, but decided that it was not for me.
Finishing my second quarter, my dad asks me if I wanted to go work with him in North Dakota.
Without second guessing it, I told him Yes. I had not lived with my dad in six years. Do not get me
wrong, he came around once in a while whenever he could, but I didn t know my dad very well.
Moving to North Dakota changed the way I looked at life and has helped guide me to learn my true
worth.
In the Book The User s Guide to the Human Mind When Luke struggled to find his worth, I realized
that I too at that time was struggling to find my worth (Smith, 2011). I always see people ... Show

This is when manual labor was worth it when you were getting paid the big bucks, but money does not
last very long in our world. Once we make money most of us like to spend it, because it is actually
nice when one can get what they want. You have to work for this type of life, and I believe it will be
worth it in the end. My life was slowly striving toward the right direction. Until one day, I realized
that money was not everything. I was still missing a part of myself and my mind, and I was not
satisfied. Then I came across our safety manager in our company. He told me that I was young and
have so much potential. He also said that I should not work in this type of work all my life that I
should go get myself an education and a degree. This is what shocked me. Something just clicked in
my head and told me that what he was saying was true. This is when I started to plan out my life to go
back to college and become who I always dreamed to be. My dream is to be a mechanical engineer
and engineer refineries all over the world. This will be my worth. This will be my journey to

Hollywood Break Up Research Paper
Be prepared! It s that time of year and it s already starting to trickle in. Yep, I m talking about
Hollywood break ups. Don t roll your eyes! This is serious. From Thanksgiving to New Year s Eve the
news of Hollywood changes from work on set for movies and TV shows to personal relationships.
What does this mean? Hollywood break ups are in the works. It could be a divorce. A couple who has
been steady forever and decides to quit. Or any other personal situations (like an adoption) and it s
bound to hit the headlines. Typically, the first announcement comes just before Thanksgiving and one
or two new announcements roll in a week until the middle of January. Hollywood break ups higher
around the holidays? Why? If you are a true gossip monger,

Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Caius Cassius plays one of the most important roles in William Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar ,
which is centred round the assassination of the Roman dictator. The driving force behind the
conspiracy is Cassius though there are others who are unhappy with the state of affairs under the
prevailing system. Yet, they do not take an active part in the design to get rid of powerful Caesar. So, it
is not incorrect to state that the chief protagonist of the assassination plot is no one but Caius Cassius.
Let me have men about me that are fat;
Sleek headed men, and such as sleep o nights:
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous. Act1.ii.
In the Act 1 Scene ii of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The strategy succeeds in obtaining Brutus whole hearted involvement in the conspiracy when he says,
Speak, strike, redress! Am I entreated
To speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise,
If the redress will follow, thou receivest
Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus! Act 2.ii.
Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill of a
practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus point in
his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to which he is
pushed by artful manipulation.
Unlike Brutus, Cassius is a far sighted man. He is aware of the capability of Antony and his solid
friendship with Caesar. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antony as well, along with
Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. But this is over ruled by Brutus
on the premise that it will foul their good intention. Brutus reaction to the suggestion is:
Let s be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. Act 2 Scene i.
What takes place later fully justifies the stand taken by Cassius with regard to Antony. If Brutus
agreed with Cassius, the conspiracy would have been a complete success.
Brutus permits Antony to make a funeral oration at Caesar s burial. Again Cassius objects to Antony
being allowed to speak for he sees it

Analysis Of Sittig Libs 6991 Internship Reflection
Sittig LIBS 6991 Internship Reflection
I began my MLS program two semesters before moving from a school based technology facilitator
into an elementary school media coordinator position. I served as a media coordinator for an
elementary school three years before moving into the role of a district technology facilitator. In my
current position, I work with a team of three other district technology facilitators. We each have a
curriculum focus, mine is media. I work with media coordinators across the district and advocate for
our district s media programs.

As I began my internship at the middle school level, I had an expectation that middle school students
would leisurely stroll through the library, check out books, and a media coordinator would assist
students from multiple classrooms in doing research. I also envisioned the shelves would be filled
with upper level chapter books and a large nonfiction section would prominently display books that
support the various facets of the curriculum. This was not a fulfilled expectation.
The current media coordinator is pulled for various duties outside of the role that would be described
within her evaluation rubric. Testing encompasses many days within the school year. She acts as one
of the testing coordinators and is responsible for not only administering tests, but also as coordinating
placement of students and collecting materials. She also acts as the in school suspension teacher
during part of the day, technology facilitator, and as a substitute for classes. Throughout her day,
students and teachers constantly flow into the library for her to repair devices and troubleshoot
programs. She also must cover classes during the day when teachers are pulled for meetings or other
outside duties.
One advantage of the role a media coordinator plays in the school, is that she assumes a leadership
position and provides input in the school improvement plan and is involved in creating policies at the
school level. She handles some types of administrative

The Pros And Cons Of Active Euthanasia
The American Medical Association states that passive euthanasia (letting die) is morally permissible.
However, active euthanasia (assisting patients die) is never morally permissible because it s like
killing the patient instead of letting the patient die naturally. Active euthanasia, is taking a direct action
to kill a patient and on the other hand, passive euthanasia, is withholding treatments to let the patient
die (letting die). Rachels (1975) disagrees with the American Medical Association because he supports
active euthanasia contrary to the position of this body. According to Rachels, active euthanasia
reduces the pain of the patients who would otherwise die even without the injection. In other words,
there are no significant differences between letting a person die and killing a person, who will still
perish in the end. Rachels refutes the claim of the American Medical Association that does not support
intentional termination of the life of the patient or what is referred to as mercy killing. In her view,
doctors only uphold their legal mandate by not engaging in the mercy killing and ignoring their moral
duty to ensure the patient die without pain. The doctors only seek to avoid legal responsibility by
letting the patient die instead of killing the patient. Alternatively, passive euthanasia allows the patient
to die naturally while the active one requires the doctor to take action to terminate the life of the
patient. As such, by allowing the patient to die, the

The Movie Primal Fear
In the movie Primal Fear, Aaron was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder by the
psychiatrist. As the plot is set up in the movie, everything seems to fall into place and fit with the
doctor s diagnosis. As the psychiatrist was interviewing Aaron and getting to know him, his rough
childhood could have led to the disorder. Since DID is typically caused by severe childhood trauma, I
believe the stories Aaron was telling along with his actions matched up to the psychiatrist s diagnosis.
With the evidence that the psychiatrist was presented with, I did agree with her diagnosis. Although, in
the movie, it was clear that she was not an expert on Dissociative Identity Disorder; I believe that
would have made her diagnosis invalid. She should have found another clinician that had more insight
to the disorder and let him or her evaluate Aaron before proceeding to testify in court.
Aaron suffered a long history of abuse at the hands of his father, and later with the Archbishop forcing
him to have sex with a girl and another altar boy while recording it; it was very likely that he could
have suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder. Aaron suffered from spells of amnesia and could
not recall long periods of time, which is a characteristic of DID listed in the DSM 5. Another
characteristic Aaron also portrayed were two separate personalities, Aaron and Roy. Whenever he
changed into Roy and then Aaron comes back , Aaron acts as though he cannot remember what

Frederick Douglass A Long Road To Freedom Analysis
A Long Road to Freedom
It s easy to boil down Frederick Douglas desire to escape slavery by saying that slavery was evil and
inhumane. In fact, this narrative is used as the underlying motivation of most, if not all, slaves whose
lives and journeys towards freedom. However, settling on this idea has two potentially disastrous
outcomes. A best, it lessens the role that slave owners held in this harsh climate. A worst, it erases the
inhumanities on both sides of the slave issue entirely. Yes, the desire for freedom is certainly a part of
Douglas , and countless other slaves , dangerous yearning for life outside of abusive homes and brutal
plantations, but it absolutely wasn t the only one. Slavery didn t just hold them back physically, but
economically, mentally, and spiritually. Frederick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We re told that slave owners separate babies from their mothers after twelve months, presumably after
the baby can derive nourishment from things other than their mother s milk. The owners see this as a
custom in the Maryland area, Douglas says. Slave babies were then given to older women while the
mothers were shuttled off the other plantations. This blatant violation of human rights wasn t seen as
an issue, and only served to dishearten slaves by depriving them of a meaningful connection with their
mother. Despite his mother s secret midnight trips to visit him, young Douglas was unable to form any
emotional ties to her, and likened his reaction to her death as though she were just a stranger. Even as
a child, slavery was able to strip him of an important part of his humanity. It wasn t just him who had
these issues, either. He repeats, again and again, that the barbarity of slavery was a wide ranging issue
that was horrible enough that many others would brave the wild unknowns and risk death than stay
and continue to be subjected to life on a

Critics believe John Keats poetry is often a remembrance of a desire to escape from his harsh and
unforgiving real world, into an imaginary world of unchanging perfection and ceaseless pleasure (

uses this sonnet to string his thoughts about death, love, art, imagination, and using it all as the theme
in his poetry. , Another critic believes Keats wrote this poem about having fears of dying before
people could recognize his poetry work. Critic king discuss how When I Have Fears is a
Shakespearean sonnet consisting of three quatrains. Bruce King describes how there are alternating
new rhymes concluding a couplet throughout the poem, that include a rhyme scheme of (abab, cdcd,

throughout the poem critic Bruce King mentions. Critic Bruce King says, the vowel rhyme romance /
chance in the second quatrain has similarities to brain / grain in the first quatrain while the n sounds
are alike in the poem . Therefore, those are vowel rhymes ( Bruce King ). Critic King believes this is
one of the many ways in which Keats makes the poem more unified and the rhymes less obtrusive by
using the vowel sound rhymes

Border Patrol Essay
Illegal immigration has been around ever since borders were created to divide the world. The reasons
for illegal immigration, stretch from escaping unstable governments, seeking job opportunities, and
making money. In the United States, most of the current illegal immigration comes from Mexico and
Latin America because of poverty and the lack of jobs (Poroy)(Wilson, Armstrong). The United States
provides many cheap labor positions in construction and farming where business owners are looking
for immediate workers that will get the job done. Unfortunately, illegal immigrants cost the U.S.

Cinderella Short Story Essay
Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are representative of the time. The
story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the story begins with the death of Cinderella s birth
mom who became sick . . . and died (Grimm). This is because death was quite common in the mid
1800s [and] life expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties (Huber). Soon after the
father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s second wives were quite
common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to marry to produce a male heir. Since the
father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it was his role to remarry and have a male to inherit his land
and belongings. Remarrying was also a norm of the time for child rearing. While the role of the man
was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to take care of the children. Taking care of the
children was typically in the hands of the mother (Eidson). The stepmother s role would have been to
watch over the children as the husband was gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the
stepmother watches over Cinderella as the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women
would remarry because they were limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it is not
unusual the stepmother remarried as well. By remarrying, the stepmother is provided for by the
husband. The husband provides a home for the girls and buys dresses,

Racism And Racial Discrimination
Today, racism and racial discrimination is something you see everyday. Whether it be in a news story,
an article on social media, or something that you personally witness, but what is racism? The Merriam
Webster Dictionary describes racism as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits
and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. This
means that one race will discriminate another because they believe that their race is better. Some
people think that the only people that can be racist are white people. Their definition of racism is
summed up to white people discriminating against the minority including African Americans and
Latinos. Their definition of racism is not true. Racism does go both ways. Anyone is capable of
saying, Hey, my race is better than yours for this reason. This is called reverse racism. The term
reverse racism is referred to as discrimination against racial majorities inflicted by racial minorities.
Reverse racism does exist and it is just as common as racism ( Racism ). In the article Racism Against
White People Exists by Codi Bott, she explains that racism against white people does in fact exist and
it is just as much of a problem as discrimination against racial minorities. In her opinion, she does not
consider it to be reverse racism. In fact, she says that any type of prejudice or discrimination towards
any person based on their ethnicity or skin color is just blatant racism. Racism can be a part of
everyone s lives. Codi does not support racism against anyone, she is just trying to make people
realize that racism against white people does exist (Codi Bott). First hand, I can say that me and my
family have been victims of racial discrimination. Although I am not proud of it, my family does
require government assistance in order to get by. When we first went through the process of getting
the help, we also had friends from different races that were also applying. Those families received
their help much quicker than our family even though we applied first. They also received more help
than our family. After this incident, we did some research and learned that is extremely common for
our state to to move families

Civil Society And Its Prospects For A Democratic Transition
Civil Society in Cuba and Its Prospects for a Democratic Transition
4/23/12
Although evidence has shown that civil society is developing in Cuba, the country will probably not
undergo a democratic transition in the near future. Civil society is still repressed by the government,
independent media is mostly silenced, and many of Cuba s citizens appear understandably apathetic.
Cuba will only transition to democracy, develop a democratic political culture, and consolidate its
democracy only when civil society develops to a position of organization, strength, and mass support.
This essay seeks to analyze the major impediments in Cuba s prospects for democracy.
Political History
Cuba was one of the last Latin American nations to gain independence. The island won its
independence from Spain in 1898, but was taken over by the United States after its victory in the
Spanish American War. In 1902, Cuba won its independence from the United States. In 1940, Batista
was elected president but was voted out of office in 1944. From 1944 until 1952, the country was
ruled by civilian presidents who had the support of political parties. In 1952, Batista orchestrated a
coup after being out of office for eight years and presided over a seven year military dictatorship.
Batista s anti communism won him the support of the United States, but his administration was
extremely corrupt and his closeness with the United States angered many Cubans. In addition, under

Dinosaur Art Essay
The Significance of Dinosaur Art
Dinosaurs are creatures that seem to fascinate humans, since all we have left are their fossils.
Although, through art, their bodies can be put back together and we have a better sense of what they
looked like. The problem with art is that pictures can sometimes be disproportionate, unrealistic, or
even made up. Young children who learn about dinosaurs may think that they are actually different
colors and can talk for example. This is why it is important to make dinosaur art as realistic as
possible and more informative.
In an article titled, Do They Really Look Like That? The Science Of Dino Art , writer John Roach
discusses people who do art and paleobiology for a living. A man by ... Show more content on

Besides paying attention to new discoveries, paleo artists must notice how information is interpreted
by different people. Paleo artist John Sibbick states that a bunch of people could have the same
scientific information and fossil evidence in front of them, but how they all interpret it is very
different. Everyone has a different artistic style, but the important thing is that their pictures clearly
depict dinosaurs in an accurate environment with the dinosaurs realistic themselves.
Through the years, paleo art has increased greatly, due to an increase in scientific findings and
information being confirmed. The understanding of dinosaurs has increased and the art has changed to
reflect that , said Sloan (2). One step to an increase in dinosaur understanding and art was in the 1980
s. Paleontologist Robert Bakker came up with a theory that dinosaurs were warm blooded. He thought
that fossils looked more like warm blooded bones. Eventually his theory was accepted all over. This
had a big impact on dinosaur art and then it encountered a drastic change. Instead of dinosaurs
standing around and doing nothing but eating, they were now running and hunting their prey. The art
changed from still life to a more action filled art, which appealed to more people and made the lives of
dinosaurs seem more complicated than originally believed.
After Robert Bakker s theory, was the discovery of small and medium sized dinosaurs that were found

Political Allegories In Dante s Inferno
Inferno is an allegory of the pilgrimage of the soul and Dante draws on the mythological dimensions
to convey and express the spiritual journey that he is on. Dante construct of hell is his own and his
judgement is reflected by the societal norms which were present during his time. Allegory, in the
traditional definition is a story or poem that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a
moral or political one. Allegorically, the journey which Dante goes on represent the journey of the
soul to reaching spiritual enlightenment. The allegory used in Inferno is unique in the sense that there
is mimetic realism even though there is a fantastical setting. Dante uses political allegories in order to

Up until Canto IX, Virgil has been able to talk his way into the various circles, despite Dante being
human. His words have no value against those who had the guts to oppose Christ so Virgil s words
present no threat to them. This moment when the poets are refused entry shows how words alone, no
longer have the ability to get them out of any situation. Words now are not enough to save one in the
face of sin. The three female Furies have a threatening and fearful presence. Allegorically their
appearance makes us conscious of the threat of sin. The threat of looking into their eyes shows how
witnessing sin is dangerous and how the perfect female nature is rendered perverse. Evil could appeal
to Dante and the reader s sympathies before but this circle is a playground for evil. The three female
Furies show us that Dante s truth and morals have no standing in Hell. Even though this is his
construct of hell, he doesn t have control over what happens. The sinners thus render the poets
immobile. Manipulation can be seen as lying or twisting the truth and thus allegory and symbolism, in
Inferno, although having the ability to depict truth, they also have the ability to alter ones

evolution as the theory that establishes the link between humans and monkeys or that the phrase
Survival of the fittest meant that the strongest always prevailed over the weak. However, this chapter

see that Charles was very hesitant to publish his book because he feared that it might not be taken
serious or that it would be thought of as rubbish. Therefore, he spent multiple years piecing together
his observations and lots of evidence to support his theory. This is very similar to modern day because
multiple people are very reluctant about what they say or do because of how society will react or the
backlash they will receive.

I Failed Two Accounting Courses
SMO411 Term Paper
Jenny Kim
11 12 2016
Introduction
Last year, I failed two accounting courses which were 400 levels. I tried to retake one of the courses
because my dad was pressuring me so hard that I should be able to understand much better but I still
could not understand the concepts and I found it really hard to catch up with the class. Since this class
was a prerequisite class for my major, I was very frustrated. I was getting so much stress from my dad
and the course that I had to retake. However, several days before I had to take a midterm, I was
overwhelmed and I was not ready to take an exam. I decided to withdraw from a course because there
was no way that I could handle 400 level accounting courses. Since I failed two accounting courses
before, I got an academic probation due to low grades. My dad thought that I was still retaking one of
the accounting courses. When I told him that I withdrew from a course, he was very mad because I did
not discuss this issue with him. I did not know why I had to discuss with him while I was very stressed
out. It was a tough decision for me to withdraw from a course. I had to discuss with him about
changing my major since I was in my last year. Preparation Stage
The purpose of this stage is to help me use the information to prepare what can be my options if the
negotiation goes well or does not go well. Also, preparation stage also helps me to guess what the
other party s options can be and try to negotiate much better.

What Is Virtue Ethics
Chapter nine talks about the environment within and virtues. Christian virtue ethics focus on the end
of an act instead of on the consequences because the end says more about the agent (p.164, M). If one
person does something that doesn t seem of good virtue, then Christian virtue won t judge that person
till the end because their means for doing something could be different than one thinks. The goal of
virtue ethics is not better decisions but better deciders (p.164, M). Virtue ethics is about an individual
making a decision that may or may not be a good one. Then, people outside of that decision have to
decide if that individual s decision was worth changing or leaving it be. Environmental virtue ethics

people to live in good relationship with the animals, plants, water, air, and earth that are our neighbors
and without which we would not survive (p.170 171, B T). These virtues are the ones that drive people
to protect the environment and see that nature is something that we need to survive and cannot
continue to destroy. However, virtues are something that are developed as one continues to put them
into action. Not all virtues are ones that we are born with. Virtues are acquired and continually
perfected as one practices being the kind of individual one wants to be (p.171,

Essay On Australian Flag
Let go of mummy s skirt Australia! It s time to move forward as a nation. The current Australian flag
does not distinctively represent Australia s national identity and must be changed. First of all, the flag
does not acknowledge prior ownership of the land, nor does it demonstrate the ability to fully reflect
the identity of ordinary Australians. Furthermore, changing the flag will not alter the national pride
within Australians as they fought for the country, not for the flag.
It is well known in Australian history that the Aboriginal people were first inhabitants of Australia
before Captain Arthur Phillip and the first fleet. Clearly indicating that aspects of the Indigenous
culture should be included in the Australia flag to acknowledge their prior ownership of the land.
However, Australian and New Zealand are the only two major independent Commonwealth countries
which retain British Ensigns as their national flags. The flag only acknowledges Australia s historical
links with the United Kingdom, unit of the six states and territories and geographical location.
Changing the flag will allow Australians to acknowledge the Aboriginal s prior ownership of the land
and even promote reconciliation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Ausflag.com, there is pictorial evidence which proves that the red ensign was the flag
which members of the Armed Services in Australia related to as Australia s de facto national flag

fought under . Therefore, just changing the flag will definitely not diminish the spirit of the
courageous souls which battled for the country. Instead, the heroic servicemen should be recognised

Summary Of The Simpsons And Their Mathematical Secrets By...
The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets by Simon Singh is a trade book that talks about the
history of The Simpsons and Futurama and how mathematics is embedded into numerous episodes in
each series. Along the way Singh, in addition to the other main writers for The Simpsons, talk about
many of the subtle math jokes that are present. These jokes range from very simple jokes that students
in elementary school could understand to jokes that not even some mathematics professors with
doctorate degrees can decipher. Singh said that everything that happens to us has some effect on us,
and I do suppose that the time I spent in grad school made me a better writer at the end of the book.
He recalls when he was younger and he was working on numerous projects in mathematics. In
addition to being a bright student, he had the ability to make jokes. Eventually, several famous people
in television such as Johnny Carson and David Letterman noticed this and gave him an in in the
entertainment business. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of The American Invasion Of Iraq
The American invasion of Iraq in March 2003 led to the collapse of Saddam Hussein, yet unleashed a
huge partisan war. The instability has led to many terrorist organizations feeding on the chaos, most
notably, Al Qaeda and, now, ISIS (Daesh). The Bush administration s decision to invade Iraq was not
successful in stopping the spread of terrorism and has led to strained relations with many countries.
Before the American intervention, Iraq was safer and wealthier. It was a relatively wealthy nation in
the 70 s to the 80 s, until Saddam Hussein went to war with Iran. After the war, Iraq needed a lot of
money to help fix it s main infrastructure. He was accused by locals of not spending to fix the
infrastructure, instead spending money on a lavish lifestyle, including construction of palaces for
himself. Saddam Hussein s autocracy gave base camps, working bases, and other backing to terrorists
battling the administrations of neighboring Turkey and Iran, and in addition to hard line Palestinian
organizations. Amid the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam charged a few fizzled terrorist assaults on U.S.
offices. Preceding the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the State Department recorded Iraq as a ... Show more

devastating and decimating attack. Supporters also believed that progress would have been a disaster

Islamic Golden Age Research Paper
The Islamic Golden Age was a time of development and change. This period lasted from 632 to 1258
CE. It began with the death of Muhammad and ended with the Mongols invading Baghdad. During the
time between these two major events, many things were invented and discovered, and many wars took
place. Muhammad, the final prophet of Islam, died in Medina after a short illness in 632 CE. Abu
Bakr, the father of Muhammad s favorite wife, A isha, was his successor. Abu Bakr continued with
Muhammad s teachings. He ordered the people who had written down Muhammad s teachings to
collect them into a book called the Quran. There were many Caliphs after Abu Bakr. However, due to
the split of Muslims into Shi ites and Sunnis, all except for Abu Bakr were killed. The Abbasid
Caliphate began to decline in the middle of the ninth century, when more people began to convert to
Islam. The Abbasid Caliphate fell and the Islamic Golden Age ... Show more content on

Short Essay About The Aztecs
The Aztecs were a complex civilization, I don t know much about the Aztec Civilization, I only know
the outline. The reason why I chose the Aztecs is because I played a few video games growing up
playing as that civilization, and they have always made me more interested in them. What I know, is
eventually they came upon a spot with an eagle sitting on a cactus with a serpent wrapped in it s legs,
that s where Tenochtitlan would be built. Montezuma was their leader, he was fierce and strict, but at
the same time kind hearted and understanding, but nobody mistook his kindness for weakness, except
for the Spanish. The Aztecs would fight enemies and enslave the rebellions and sacrifice them. The
ones that cooperated, would have to pay tributes every few weeks though. Those people could live a
normal life, just under Aztec control. They built things called skyfarms. Those farms were very well
designed and worked in the desert setting they lived in. The Aztecs ... Show more content on

they ever skip a day and know the sun rises the next day? Or did they never find out? What I want to

(It hadn t been an extremely long time since I last saw her, we simply enjoy hanging out.)
Accordingly, I called her up and asked, Hey, are you busy today? Because if not, you should come
over to my house and spend the night or something. She said, No, I m not busy. I need to ask if I can
come, I m sure she ll say yes. I probably need to clean my room first though. Hence, it might be a
while. I told her that was fine and to swing by whenever she was done cleaning, and that was the end
of it. I only had to wait an hour, maybe two, before she arrived at my house. We were incredibly
excited to see each other because, actually, I have no idea why. I mean yes we re excellent friends, still
we saw each other a lot, and we talk, and text all the time. I don t know, we re weird. We always

Eugenics, Eugenics And Selective Breeding
Eugenics is defined as the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase
the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics (Merriam Webster). The extensive and shadowed
history of authoritative and liberal eugenics practices dates back to 1883 when eugenecist Francis
Galton began publicly advocating for the castration of the insane. Eugenics practices occurred around
the world for more than a century and are still part of scientific progress and discussion today. From
the T4 programs of Nazi Germany to the Human Genome Project and the mapping of the entire fetal
genetic makeup, eugenics and selective breeding have played a major part in the history and social
makeup of the world.
Sterilization became the most common eugenics practice in American between the 1920 s and 1970 s.
In 1907, Indiana passed the first sterilization law which enabled doctors to legally sterilize patients
deemed unfit to reproduce without their permission. The law came about during an era when
vaccinations, clean eating and workplace safety were all being supported. These public views helped
the practice gain support in the name of generational health and wellbeing. In the Model Law of
Sterilization published in 1914 by Harry Laughlin, any persons deemed feeble minded, insane,
criminalistic, epileptic, diseased, blind, deaf, deformed, promiscuous or dependent by the state were
able to be sterilized by a physician without consent. Although sterilization wasn t widely

Currently, there are two major of database management systems which are used to deal with data, the
first one called Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which is the traditional relational
databases, it deals with structured data and have been popular since decades from 1970, while the
second one called Not only Structure Query Language databases (NoSQL), they have been dealing
with semi structured and unstructured data; the NoSQL term was introduced for the first time in 1998
by Carlo Strozzi and Eric Evans reintroduced the term NoSQL in early 2009, and now the NoSQL
types are gaining their popularity with the development of the internet and the social media. NoSQL
are intending to override the cons of RDBMS, such as fixed schemas, JOIN operations and handling
the scalability problems. With the appearance of Big Data,

The Importance Of Distance Education Over Traditional...
Approximately 7 billion people live in the world and the number is getting higher every day. How
many people have internet access? Roughly 3 billion people have access to the internet. No wonder
online education is on the rise. But why? What is so wrong with a traditional education. Why are more
colleges offering online courses? Why are more kids being homeschooled? Even though you won t
meet a lot of new people, experience a lot of different cultures, or even become that social butterfly,
for people who do not function well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance
education over traditional education. For stay at home parents or even single parents, it might be hard
to get an education on your schedule. For military families, you may move all over, going from school
to school, never really continuing what your learning from school to school. Distance education can
keep you connected to your school anywhere you are. First, for people who do not function very well
in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education over traditional education.
Distance education, or homeschooling, allows for more individualized instruction, based on the
students needs. It isn t as structured as a traditional education. According to Redford, Battle, and
Bielick (20707), the most important reason parents are homeschooling was the environment of other
schools. Other reasons include providing religious instruction, provide a nontraditional approach to
the students education, and to provide moral instruction (p. 12). In public or private school, you have
no control over what your child is learning and how they are learning it. With distance education, or
homeschooling, you can. Are you afraid they will miss out on the opptunities that traditional schools
provide. A friend of mine home schools her children after a few years of being in a public school
system. They belong to a local co op where all the other distance education students and families get
together and play sports, interact, even have a prom for high school students. Your student can now
participate in distance education and get the same opportunity as a traditional education. Additionally,
for stay at home parents or single

DELEGATION Delegation is an integral component of the organizing process. Since manager is

his subordinates less important work which he need not to do himself. It is through this process of

the goal or objective of the task, 2. the results to be achieved, 3. performance standards required, 4.
quality standards to be observed, 5. the importance and relevance of the task and 6. the exact

step. 5. With all this done, the duties and responsibilities for the task can be delegated. Also, it s
important to establish timelines and deadlines for the task after discussing the same with the employee
to whom the work has been delegated. 6. The delegation process doesn t end right here, there is one

conversations on topics of mutual interest. Of late, many Facebook communities have come into play,

In addition to now representing more than a fifth of Roche s revenue, Roche says, its diagnostics
technology has made its core pharmaceutical business more successful by identifying new therapeutic

Strategic bets in pharmaceuticals, as in any other industry, must take into account what a company
already does well. In other words, the bets should leverage the company s capabilities system, made
up of the three to six activities that truly differentiate the company and allow it to compete effectively
both in the market position it has staked out and with the products and services in its portfolio.
Companies that exhibit a high degree of coherence in these three elements (their capabilities system,
market positioning, and product/service portfolio) tend to thrive in their industry sector; companies
that exhibit lower degrees of coherence tend to have trouble keeping up.
Identifying the right strategic bets should be the highest strategic priority for the company, and the
effort should be led by the CEO or a committee that includes the CEO, because in most cases these
steps will lead to a different or substantially modified strategic direction for the company (1).

Creative Industries And The Creative Industry
As an ever evolving concept, the creative industries as as hard to define as creativity itself. Academia
is struggling to keep up with the growing global interest in these ideas. (De Beukelaer, 2015) A
creative industry is defined as unpredictability, rapid shift in trends and fashions (Lee, 2015, p. 141).
Products that are innovative and novel, satisfying the rapidly changing needs and demands of a
globalized society. (Lee, 2015) Lee (2015) identified two common strands of creative industry
research. The first focuses on the development of creative industries and the second on place
promotion : using arts and culture to promote or rejuvenate urban areas. (Lee, 2015) The know why,
know how, know who, know when and know from (Lee, 2015) are critical to development within the

knowledge bases among the firms and freelancers of the creative industries. Access to this base,
providing information on job opportunities, new commodities and methods and new collaborators is
critical for maintaining a competitive advantage. (Lee, 2015) There are three key concepts that

  • 2. North Dakota Adventure Life Adventure in North Dakota In the 19th century someone quoted that, Money doesn t grow on trees. Whoever this person was; He or she was very wise. In 2013, I was going to college for culinary, but decided that it was not for me. Finishing my second quarter, my dad asks me if I wanted to go work with him in North Dakota. Without second guessing it, I told him Yes. I had not lived with my dad in six years. Do not get me wrong, he came around once in a while whenever he could, but I didn t know my dad very well. Moving to North Dakota changed the way I looked at life and has helped guide me to learn my true worth. In the Book The User s Guide to the Human Mind When Luke struggled to find his worth, I realized that I too at that time was struggling to find my worth (Smith, 2011). I always see people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is when manual labor was worth it when you were getting paid the big bucks, but money does not last very long in our world. Once we make money most of us like to spend it, because it is actually nice when one can get what they want. You have to work for this type of life, and I believe it will be worth it in the end. My life was slowly striving toward the right direction. Until one day, I realized that money was not everything. I was still missing a part of myself and my mind, and I was not satisfied. Then I came across our safety manager in our company. He told me that I was young and have so much potential. He also said that I should not work in this type of work all my life that I should go get myself an education and a degree. This is what shocked me. Something just clicked in my head and told me that what he was saying was true. This is when I started to plan out my life to go back to college and become who I always dreamed to be. My dream is to be a mechanical engineer and engineer refineries all over the world. This will be my worth. This will be my journey to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hollywood Break Up Research Paper Be prepared! It s that time of year and it s already starting to trickle in. Yep, I m talking about Hollywood break ups. Don t roll your eyes! This is serious. From Thanksgiving to New Year s Eve the news of Hollywood changes from work on set for movies and TV shows to personal relationships. What does this mean? Hollywood break ups are in the works. It could be a divorce. A couple who has been steady forever and decides to quit. Or any other personal situations (like an adoption) and it s bound to hit the headlines. Typically, the first announcement comes just before Thanksgiving and one or two new announcements roll in a week until the middle of January. Hollywood break ups higher around the holidays? Why? • 4. Analysis of Caius Cassius Character Analysis of Caius Cassius Character Caius Cassius plays one of the most important roles in William Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar , which is centred round the assassination of the Roman dictator. The driving force behind the conspiracy is Cassius though there are others who are unhappy with the state of affairs under the prevailing system. Yet, they do not take an active part in the design to get rid of powerful Caesar. So, it is not incorrect to state that the chief protagonist of the assassination plot is no one but Caius Cassius. Let me have men about me that are fat; Sleek headed men, and such as sleep o nights: Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous. Act1.ii. In the Act 1 Scene ii of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The strategy succeeds in obtaining Brutus whole hearted involvement in the conspiracy when he says, Speak, strike, redress! Am I entreated To speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise, If the redress will follow, thou receivest Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus! Act 2.ii. Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill of a practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus point in his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to which he is pushed by artful manipulation. Unlike Brutus, Cassius is a far sighted man. He is aware of the capability of Antony and his solid friendship with Caesar. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antony as well, along with Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. But this is over ruled by Brutus on the premise that it will foul their good intention. Brutus reaction to the suggestion is: Let s be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. Act 2 Scene i. What takes place later fully justifies the stand taken by Cassius with regard to Antony. If Brutus agreed with Cassius, the conspiracy would have been a complete success. Brutus permits Antony to make a funeral oration at Caesar s burial. Again Cassius objects to Antony being allowed to speak for he sees it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Sittig Libs 6991 Internship Reflection Sittig LIBS 6991 Internship Reflection I began my MLS program two semesters before moving from a school based technology facilitator into an elementary school media coordinator position. I served as a media coordinator for an elementary school three years before moving into the role of a district technology facilitator. In my current position, I work with a team of three other district technology facilitators. We each have a curriculum focus, mine is media. I work with media coordinators across the district and advocate for our district s media programs. It is with a heavy heart that I write this reflection. This journey has been incredible, and a learning experience that is only comparable to the total amount of time I have spent in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I began my internship at the middle school level, I had an expectation that middle school students would leisurely stroll through the library, check out books, and a media coordinator would assist students from multiple classrooms in doing research. I also envisioned the shelves would be filled with upper level chapter books and a large nonfiction section would prominently display books that support the various facets of the curriculum. This was not a fulfilled expectation. The current media coordinator is pulled for various duties outside of the role that would be described within her evaluation rubric. Testing encompasses many days within the school year. She acts as one of the testing coordinators and is responsible for not only administering tests, but also as coordinating placement of students and collecting materials. She also acts as the in school suspension teacher during part of the day, technology facilitator, and as a substitute for classes. Throughout her day, students and teachers constantly flow into the library for her to repair devices and troubleshoot programs. She also must cover classes during the day when teachers are pulled for meetings or other outside duties. One advantage of the role a media coordinator plays in the school, is that she assumes a leadership position and provides input in the school improvement plan and is involved in creating policies at the school level. She handles some types of administrative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Pros And Cons Of Active Euthanasia The American Medical Association states that passive euthanasia (letting die) is morally permissible. However, active euthanasia (assisting patients die) is never morally permissible because it s like killing the patient instead of letting the patient die naturally. Active euthanasia, is taking a direct action to kill a patient and on the other hand, passive euthanasia, is withholding treatments to let the patient die (letting die). Rachels (1975) disagrees with the American Medical Association because he supports active euthanasia contrary to the position of this body. According to Rachels, active euthanasia reduces the pain of the patients who would otherwise die even without the injection. In other words, there are no significant differences between letting a person die and killing a person, who will still perish in the end. Rachels refutes the claim of the American Medical Association that does not support intentional termination of the life of the patient or what is referred to as mercy killing. In her view, doctors only uphold their legal mandate by not engaging in the mercy killing and ignoring their moral duty to ensure the patient die without pain. The doctors only seek to avoid legal responsibility by letting the patient die instead of killing the patient. Alternatively, passive euthanasia allows the patient to die naturally while the active one requires the doctor to take action to terminate the life of the patient. As such, by allowing the patient to die, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Movie Primal Fear In the movie Primal Fear, Aaron was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder by the psychiatrist. As the plot is set up in the movie, everything seems to fall into place and fit with the doctor s diagnosis. As the psychiatrist was interviewing Aaron and getting to know him, his rough childhood could have led to the disorder. Since DID is typically caused by severe childhood trauma, I believe the stories Aaron was telling along with his actions matched up to the psychiatrist s diagnosis. With the evidence that the psychiatrist was presented with, I did agree with her diagnosis. Although, in the movie, it was clear that she was not an expert on Dissociative Identity Disorder; I believe that would have made her diagnosis invalid. She should have found another clinician that had more insight to the disorder and let him or her evaluate Aaron before proceeding to testify in court. Aaron suffered a long history of abuse at the hands of his father, and later with the Archbishop forcing him to have sex with a girl and another altar boy while recording it; it was very likely that he could have suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder. • 8. Frederick Douglass A Long Road To Freedom Analysis A Long Road to Freedom It s easy to boil down Frederick Douglas desire to escape slavery by saying that slavery was evil and inhumane. In fact, this narrative is used as the underlying motivation of most, if not all, slaves whose lives and journeys towards freedom. However, settling on this idea has two potentially disastrous outcomes. A best, it lessens the role that slave owners held in this harsh climate. A worst, it erases the inhumanities on both sides of the slave issue entirely. Yes, the desire for freedom is certainly a part of Douglas , and countless other slaves , dangerous yearning for life outside of abusive homes and brutal plantations, but it absolutely wasn t the only one. We re told that slave owners separate babies from their mothers after twelve months, presumably after the baby can derive nourishment from things other than their mother s milk. The owners see this as a custom in the Maryland area, Douglas says. Slave babies were then given to older women while the mothers were shuttled off the other plantations. This blatant violation of human rights wasn t seen as an issue, and only served to dishearten slaves by depriving them of a meaningful connection with their mother. Despite his mother s secret midnight trips to visit him, young Douglas was unable to form any emotional ties to her, and likened his reaction to her death as though she were just a stranger. Even as a child, slavery was able to strip him of an important part of his humanity. It wasn t just him who had these issues, either. He repeats, again and again, that the barbarity of slavery was a wide ranging issue that was horrible enough that many others would brave the wild unknowns and risk death than stay and continue to be subjected to life on a ... • 11. Cinderella Short Story Essay Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are representative of the time. The story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the story begins with the death of Cinderella s birth mom who became sick . . . and died (Grimm). This is because death was quite common in the mid 1800s [and] life expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties (Huber). Soon after the father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s second wives were quite common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to marry to produce a male heir. Since the father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it was his role to remarry and have a male to inherit his land and belongings. Remarrying was also a norm of the time for child rearing. While the role of the man was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to take care of the children. Taking care of the children was typically in the hands of the mother (Eidson). The stepmother s role would have been to watch over the children as the husband was gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the stepmother watches over Cinderella as the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women would remarry because they were limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it is not unusual the stepmother remarried as well. • 13. Racism And Racial Discrimination Today, racism and racial discrimination is something you see everyday. Whether it be in a news story, an article on social media, or something that you personally witness, but what is racism? The Merriam Webster Dictionary describes racism as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. This means that one race will discriminate another because they believe that their race is better. Some people think that the only people that can be racist are white people. Their definition of racism is summed up to white people discriminating against the minority including African Americans and Latinos. Their definition of racism is not true. Racism does go both ways. Anyone is capable of saying, Hey, my race is better than yours for this reason. This is called reverse racism. The term reverse racism is referred to as discrimination against racial majorities inflicted by racial minorities. Reverse racism does exist and it is just as common as racism ( Racism ). In the article Racism Against White People Exists by Codi Bott, she explains that racism against white people does in fact exist and it is just as much of a problem as discrimination against racial minorities. In her opinion, she does not consider it to be reverse racism. In fact, she says that any type of prejudice or discrimination towards any person based on their ethnicity or skin color is just blatant racism. Racism can be a part of everyone s lives. Codi does not support racism against anyone, she is just trying to make people realize that racism against white people does exist (Codi Bott). First hand, I can say that me and my family have been victims of racial discrimination. Although I am not proud of it, my family does require government assistance in order to get by. When we first went through the process of getting the help, we also had friends from different races that were also applying. Civil Society And Its Prospects For A Democratic Transition Civil Society in Cuba and Its Prospects for a Democratic Transition 4/23/12 Although evidence has shown that civil society is developing in Cuba, the country will probably not undergo a democratic transition in the near future. Civil society is still repressed by the government, independent media is mostly silenced, and many of Cuba s citizens appear understandably apathetic. Cuba will only transition to democracy, develop a democratic political culture, and consolidate its democracy only when civil society develops to a position of organization, strength, and mass support. This essay seeks to analyze the major impediments in Cuba s prospects for democracy. Political History Cuba was one of the last Latin American nations to gain independence. The island won its independence from Spain in 1898, but was taken over by the United States after its victory in the Spanish American War. In 1902, Cuba won its independence from the United States. In 1940, Batista was elected president but was voted out of office in 1944. From 1944 until 1952, the country was ruled by civilian presidents who had the support of political parties. In 1952, Batista orchestrated a coup after being out of office for eight years and presided over a seven year military dictatorship. Young children who learn about dinosaurs may think that they are actually different colors and can talk for example. Paleo artist John Sibbick states that a bunch of people could have the same scientific information and fossil evidence in front of them, but how they all interpret it is very different. Everyone has a different artistic style, but the important thing is that their pictures clearly depict dinosaurs in an accurate environment with the dinosaurs realistic themselves. Through the years, paleo art has increased greatly, due to an increase in scientific findings and information being confirmed. The understanding of dinosaurs has increased and the art has changed to reflect that , said Sloan (2). One step to an increase in dinosaur understanding and art was in the 1980 s. Paleontologist Robert Bakker came up with a theory that dinosaurs were warm blooded. He thought that fossils looked more like warm blooded bones. Eventually his theory was accepted all over. This had a big impact on dinosaur art and then it encountered a drastic change. Instead of dinosaurs standing around and doing nothing but eating, they were now running and hunting their prey. The art changed from still life to a more action filled art, which appealed to more people and made the lives of dinosaurs seem more complicated than originally believed. The facts that actually caught the most my attention was the on Chapter 4 was that he stated that as Crack become more popular they had a few more police going against it, but this actually did not change much, it only made it better for drug dealer. You might wonder why? So read the book, just kidding. Here it goes, how the drugs Were now scarcer they could put the prices higher. This teaches us that we have to really look careful to what our government does, because we at the moment might think its better but it sometimes can be worse. This book is an eye opener, making you look at things in a different way changing your views and perspective of things we thought were impossible or that they had no relationship at all. He incentives you to formulate the correct questions by questioning everything that you feel curious about. Just remember what a genius once said, I have no special talent. • 29. Eugenics, Eugenics And Selective Breeding Eugenics is defined as the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics (Merriam Webster). The extensive and shadowed history of authoritative and liberal eugenics practices dates back to 1883 when eugenecist Francis Galton began publicly advocating for the castration of the insane. Eugenics practices occurred around the world for more than a century and are still part of scientific progress and discussion today. From the T4 programs of Nazi Germany to the Human Genome Project and the mapping of the entire fetal genetic makeup, eugenics and selective breeding have played a major part in the history and social makeup of the world. Sterilization became the most common eugenics practice in American between the 1920 s and 1970 s. In 1907, Indiana passed the first sterilization law which enabled doctors to legally sterilize patients deemed unfit to reproduce without their permission. The law came about during an era when vaccinations, clean eating and workplace safety were all being supported. These public views helped the practice gain support in the name of generational health and wellbeing. In the Model Law of Sterilization published in 1914 by Harry Laughlin, any persons deemed feeble minded, insane, criminalistic, epileptic, diseased, blind, deaf, deformed, promiscuous or dependent by the state were able to be sterilized by a physician without consent. • 32. The Importance Of Distance Education Over Traditional... Approximately 7 billion people live in the world and the number is getting higher every day. How many people have internet access? Roughly 3 billion people have access to the internet. No wonder online education is on the rise. But why? What is so wrong with a traditional education. Why are more colleges offering online courses? Why are more kids being homeschooled? Even though you won t meet a lot of new people, experience a lot of different cultures, or even become that social butterfly, for people who do not function well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education over traditional education. For stay at home parents or even single parents, it might be hard to get an education on your schedule. For military families, you may move all over, going from school to school, never really continuing what your learning from school to school. Distance education can keep you connected to your school anywhere you are. First, for people who do not function very well in a traditional classroom, I think you should choose distance education over traditional education. Distance education, or homeschooling, allows for more individualized instruction, based on the students needs. It isn t as structured as a traditional education. According to Redford, Battle, and Bielick (20707), the most important reason parents are homeschooling was the environment of other schools. Other reasons include providing religious instruction, provide a nontraditional approach to the students education, and to provide moral instruction (p. 12). In public or private school, you have no control over what your child is learning and how they are learning it. With distance education, or homeschooling, you can. Are you afraid they will miss out on the opptunities that traditional schools provide. A friend of mine home schools her children after a few years of being in a public school system. They belong to a local co op where all the other distance education students and families get together and play sports, interact, even have a prom for high school students. Your student can now participate in distance education and get the same opportunity as a traditional education. Additionally, for stay at home parents or single ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition to now representing more than a fifth of Roche s revenue, Roche says, its diagnostics technology has made its core pharmaceutical business more successful by identifying new therapeutic targets and screening out poor drug candidates. Strategic bets in pharmaceuticals, as in any other industry, must take into account what a company already does well. In other words, the bets should leverage the company s capabilities system, made up of the three to six activities that truly differentiate the company and allow it to compete effectively both in the market position it has staked out and with the products and services in its portfolio. Companies that exhibit a high degree of coherence in these three elements (their capabilities system, market positioning, and product/service portfolio) tend to thrive in their industry sector; companies that exhibit lower degrees of coherence tend to have trouble keeping up. Identifying the right strategic bets should be the highest strategic priority for the company, and the effort should be led by the CEO or a committee that includes the CEO, because in most cases these steps will lead to a different or substantially modified strategic direction for the company (1).
