Building Pledge Sunday Essay
Sunday, September 25, Building Pledge Sunday, is an important celebration in the life of this
congregation of Christ s Church. God has blessed Shady Grove with a much needed building
addition that began in 2009 and was completed in 2010. The addition has made it far easier to
host fellowship meals. It has also become a place for meetings, and fellowship gatherings from
large to small, as well as a Sunday School meeting place, and a place for Youth Movie Night and
Vacation Bible School. The building addition has been a blessing to us and our community.
Financially, we have made great progress. The original cost was $800,000 and because of faithful
giving and financial gifts, we are more than half way in paying for our wonderful addition. The...

The Importance Of A Student s Education And That May...
A factor that I feel is vital for a student s education and that may benefit a teacher is the factor of
assessments. Assessments is a method in which teachers use to evaluate, measure, and document
the progress students have made. While assessments are usually equated with traditional testing
teachers may also use a diverse array of assessment methods to measure a students progress in any
class. Assessments are usually created to measure specific elements of learning wither its
cognitive, psychomotor or affective. Assessment may also be used to see the level of knowledge a
student may already have on a concept or a skill that the teacher is planning on teaching.
Assessments are also used to identify individual student weaknesses and... Show more content on

You are also able to provide parents with evidence in their child s progress or the lack of progress
the child is making. After assessing students the teacher may modify there instruction to a students
need. It may also encourage teachers to assess there own teaching and the adjustments they may
need to make to enhance there teaching. By holding teachers responsible for assessing students,
teachers understand they need to provide a higher quality of education. As we see a higher emphasis
on assessments and the accountability on teachers. We are now required to provide evidence of
student s achievements (Rink Williams, 2003). We can provide these achievements with hard
copies of assessments taken by the students. Earlier in the paper I had mentioned the two
assessments commonly used through out schools. Another assessment that is highly used in
physical education is authentic assessment, which was promoted by Grant Wiggins (1989). This
sort of assessment places students in real world problems which students may use skills and
knowledge to solve these issues (Jacalyn Lund, 1997). There are about 15 forms of authentic
assessments. These forms are teacher observation, self observation, checklists, demonstration, peer
observation, event task, group projects, student projects, oral discourse, student log and etc. With
Mitah (2003) statistical findings we can see that 100% of the teachers in every grade level used

Boston Lyric Opera
1. BLO s eight customer objectives The first objective is to gain generous contributions. The
amount per donator, ration between new donators and new contacts (collection rate) and the total
amount of the donators and contributions are ways to measure how this aspect is doing. Incentives
for the staff should also be incorporated into these objectives, especially ones that steer the process
towards multi year support programs. To measure the board involvement and recruitment, it is
important that the reputation of the new board member is blameless and since operating in Boston,
a local person with strong ties to the community would be better. To measure involvement the
easiest way is to look the member s activity, how many times... Show more content on

The biggest change here was BLO reshaping its strategy. They acknowledged that their most
important customers in this situation are the people who resourced their organization. BLO
received nearly 70 percent of their operating budget from sources other than ticket sales, mostly
from donors and supporters. BLO decided to place donors and supporters as their main interest
group in the Balanced Scorecard. They were the body that enabled BLO to carry out their
mission and strategy. Even though Boston Lyric Opera is a non profit organization and its output
is intangible, its organizational performance can be measured by quantitative measures. The
Balanced Scorecard would bring quantitative measures alongside the qualitative measures. The
Balanced Scorecard required BLO to quantify their activities. BLO acknowledged that and they
for example created a database where they linked quantifiable donor data to qualitative
information about donor meetings etc. Basically, the Balanced Scorecard required BLO to be
managed like a business. 3. Lyric Opera had a new question ahead of them. They had to figure
out what they wanted to become. BLO s existing strategy was not valid anymore as their operating
expenses rose and revenues from ticket sales were limited. BLO decided to adapt the Balance
Scorecard in order to set new strategic objectives and measure their performance against those

Great Chicago Fire Was A Tragedy
T he Great Chicago fire was a tragic. We never knew what actual happened we just have theory s.
We think we know what happened but what we do know was why it was so fierce.
The theory is that a women by the name of Mrs. O Leary was milking her cow when the cow
kicked a lantern that was used to light up the barn. What they think happened is that the fire got out
of hand, before the firefighters got there. It spread so fast from the dry and humid weather. What
didn t help the fact is that the whole city was made out of wood. The city only had one water supply
and the city was full of oil.
Chicago in the 1871 was no more. There was nothing left after this tragic. The fire got so bad that

Polymerization Is The Four Major Groups Of Macromolecules
Polymerization Polymerization is when two monomer molecules join together to form a larger
polymer monomer molecule or a chain of lager polymer molecules. This chemical reaction takes
place through dehydration synthesis. Dehydration synthesis is when water is removed to make it
able for monomers to join of bond together. The four major group of biochemical: carbohydrates,
nucleic acid, lipids, and proteins share properties with polymerization of the macromolecules.
Therefore completed macromolecules depend on properties of single monomers and their sequence.
The four major biochemical groups (carbohydrates, nucleic acid, lipids and proteins) go through the
process of dehydration synthesis to reach their goal and become polymers by joining together

Analysis of The Unknown Citizen by W.H. Auden Essay examples
Analysis of The Unknown Citizen by W.H. Auden The Unknown Citizen , written by W.H. Auden
during 1940, is a poem where the speaker, a representative of the state or government, directs a
speech to the audience about a monument being erected for a citizen. Written in free verse,
although using many couplets, this poem is a poem that describes the life of a certain person
through his records and documents. This citizen is portrayed as a normal and average human being
who is being honoured for being normal. Auden, however, uses the fact that the state is honouring
someone for being normal to criticise his society. By emphasizing certain grammatical conventions
and the structure the author explains the true meaning of this poem,... Show more content on

Throughout the poem, Auden sarcastically shows that the state is erecting a monument for a
nobody. Monuments are usually erected as a memorial to a person with outstanding
accomplishments who stand out from the rest of the population. However, this citizen does not
do anything that makes him different from the rest of the population. As Auden writes: The
Press are convinced that he bought a paper every day And that his reactions to advertisements
were normal in every way. Policies taken out in his name prove that he was fully insured, And
his Health card shows he was once in a hospital but left it cured. Both Producers Research and
High Grade Living declare He was fully sensible to the advantages of the Installment Plan And
had everything necessary to the Modern Man, A phonograph, a radio, a car and a frigidaire. Our
researchers into Public Opinion are content That he held the proper opinions for the time of
year; When there was peace, he was for peace; when there was war, he went. (14 24) The author
describes this citizen as being an overall regular man in society, who did not change or impact the
world by any means. He was a normal man who bought a paper every day

The rise of industrialization brought the ability to mass produce goods and thus able to sustain a
larger population, a population that was expanding out and away from the city. White veterans
returning from World War II received access to GI bill, which afforded them new housing, that was
being built more quickly than ever thanks to prefabricated parts, manufactured in factories. Thus
with the creation of the suburbs we see this movement away from the dense cityand into the
surrounding area. Neighborhoods with Black families could no longer receive any loans from
the bank due to red lining. Money was being invested in building up the suburbs instead, where
the land was cheap and so were the taxes. This lead to a sharp decrease in the value of land within

Video Game Comparison Essay
As a child, one never thinks twice about a possible hidden meaning when playing a video game.
Playing a video game was simply that, just playing. We are controlling a device to make actions
for the character displayed on a screen. But what if we were not only playing a senseless game, but
in fact, doing something more. At that point, we begin to question whether the video gamewe have
grown to love was doing something more than entertain us for the time being. We were not only
leveling up to fight the main boss or bad guy in the game, but possibly strengthening ourselves to
fight a figure that symbolizes an actual person or event in a different context. Plenty of games

similarities to each other, such as presenting a fictional reality, and what if situations. These
video games, like many others, provide a way to experience these simulations of societal terrors.
The difference between the two is that each display a specific cultural fear. One being a corrupt
organization in charge of society that is ruining the planet and the other a world trying to
rebuild after being nuked. Final Fantasy VII is able to keep up with modern games, not by its
graphics but by its themes. According to the Square Enix, the makers of Final Fantasy VII, as
the game continues to be popular, they will be releasing a modern remake of the game (FINAL
FANTASY VII Remake | PSX 2015 | Message from Yoshinori Kitase). In other words, the game s
large fan base has made it the point of remaking. The game s continuation in popularity well past
its released date is possibly related to the fact that these fears still exist in the present day. Final
Fantasy VII not only shows connections to other video game themes, but also demonstrates events

Informative Speech On Salvador
Who are you? What are you? Where are you from? Questions that people are always asking and

reunions or special occasions. My first language learned and spoken at home was spanish.
Although us Salvadorians speak spanish we say and pronounce certain words differently. It?s

different words which sometimes causes confusion to other spanish speakers. I remembered one
day me and my mexican friend were talking about her upcoming quinceanera. I remember telling
her, ?It?s going to be so much fun learning the dance moves for the special dance! Although I bet

Other teachers were using Skype in the classroom with native speaking classes to talk about culture

Green Light Symbolism In The Great Gatsby
Baz Luhrmann portrays many symbols in the film, The Great to show the motivation and fate of
Jay Gatsby. The text itself is constructed using many symbols, which are incorporated to highlight
different elements of the film s message. The three major symbols in the film are the Green Light,
the Eyes from the Valley of Ashes and finally the Parties, which Gatsby frequently hosts.
Probably the most noticeable symbol in the film is the green light, which is situated at the end of
Daisy s dock but barely visible from Gatsby s dock. Gatsby is often depicted gazing into the
distance at the green light. Luhrmann positions Gatsby in this way because the green light
represents hope and his dreams for the future. Therefore it is evident that Gatsby ... Show more

However the green light represents Gatsby s dream of Daisy and how they would live as they

in the past, which is not what Daisy wants within the social context of their relationship it is clear
that the green light on a broader scale represents society s near impossible desire to achieve the
insatiable goal of the American Dream.
Another symbol that features regularly throughout the film is the large eyes painted on the old
advertising billboard overlooking the Valley of Ashes. These are the eyes of Dr. T. J. Eckleburg.
The eyes may represent God or another higher being looking down upon America judging the
society for the loss of spiritual values that it has attained. An example of the loss of spiritual values
is in the character of Tom Buchanan as he is constantly committing adultery and discriminating
against people on their heritage and ancestral background. Jay Gatsby is also an example of the

The Kite Runner And Oedipus Rex Comparison Essay
As I read The Kite Runner and Oedipus Rex I came to a realization that both the books were very
graphic. In The Kite Runner I discovered that Hassan had been raped by Assef, and Amir had no
intentions to stop what was happening to stand up for his best friend. That gruesome experience
can translate to what happened in OedipusRex. In Oedipus Rex, Oedipus wife, Jocasta, winds up
killing herself knowing that she married her son, but that s not it. At the very end of the book
Oedipus stabs himself in the eyes out. Those horrific images only happened due to the theme
betrayal and not being able to step up and say the truth until it s too late.
In the book The Kite Runner, Amir ruined Hassan and his friendship because he was too much
of a coward. Amir was considered a coward and even called himself a coward in the book due to
the fact he was afraid to stand up for his friendship when Hassan needed him the most. As
Hassan was in the alley getting raped by Assef, Amir says, I stopped watching, turned away from
the alley...I could step into the alley, stand up for Hassan and accept whatever would happen to
me. Or I could run. In the end, I ran (Hosseini 77). Amir in this situation thought about himself
and instead of standing up for Hassan like Hassan has always done for him, Amir chooses to not
help. He was too scared to get hurt. The reason Amir did not go help Hassan was because he was
too worried on finding Baba. Growing up Baba never gave him the attention or

Virginia Woolf on Men and Women Colleges During Virginia Woolf s time, women are seen to
be inferior to men. She uses education as a way to highlight the differences. Woolf partakes in a
luncheon at each college. The meals are metaphorical devices that she uses to describe the
poverty women s colleges have and in comparison to the lavishness of a men s. Woolf s selection
of detail is evident in the way she describes the meals and sets a tone. The men s lunch is
luxurious and rich as ...so relate it to rice and tapioca would be an insult. Woolf uses this as a
way to help the reader understand that the meal was higher than a basic staple and to refer as
such is an offense. The course also help describes the tone of the men s college. The men s

[p88] It is evident that this debate will continue to grow in interest and relevance in a modern,
global society and it is important to look at the underlying premise behind Mintzberg s conviction.
Underlying premise Mintzberg s underlying assumption is that businesses must learn which
opportunities are available in the current and future environments and to do this, strategy must be
developed by managers at the operational level: built from occasional nuggets they uncover [p111]
and not by senior managers and analysts in an ivory tower looking backwards at past data. Birger
Wernerfelt, (1984) illustrates an organisation driven, resource based view of strategy in which firms
can influence the environment in which they operate. Wernerfelt argues that firms must first
understand their organisation and develop ways to shape their business surroundings accordingly.
On the other side of this learning debate, Porter (1985) presents a positioning approach where the
role of the strategist is to identify the external forces of the environment (Competitive forces Model:
Porter, 1979) and find a unique and valuable position in which the firm can flourish. As is typical in
organisational strategy, nothing is clear cut and indeed Mintzberg s article draws parallels with
both Wernerfelt and Porter. In this article, he argues that organisations must learn which
opportunities are

Tourism In UK Tourism
To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing
despite the different impact, however this could also be seen as a negative according to the
WTTC findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might
have to go back to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners
working in the sector like working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could
mean less people are able to effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the
sector has boosted the UK s economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could
change for UK travellers. According to express article for tourists who are going on holiday they
would need to keep on top of the Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe , this suggests
that the guide book was made to ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European
country but ensuring rules are being kept. The studies from this article shows that there is a main
focus on passport changes, euros and exchange rates, visas and healthcare, when it comes to the
passport the Foreign and Commonwealth Office describes it as still giving the British people the

iPhone App Development: Features Of iOS 11 Developers Must Know
In the iPhone app development world, developers have relentlessly shown that they are a
community of creative innovators and they have not disappointed app and game users in earlier
iOS versions until date. Apple iOS 11 was introduced on 5 June, 2017 at the Conference of
Worldwide Developers, but with iOS 11 was released to the public on 19 September, 2017 and
since then, there has been two distinct updates to iOS 11.02 which fixed the earpiece noise during

the new design resembles the Finder app on the Mac.
With the improvements, developers can include Files integration into their apps, this will allow
apps to be listed inside the Files app like every other content, making it simple to transfer
documents, photos, videos, and other content between apps.

Ku Klux Klan Impact
The Ku Klux Klan not only played a part in the history of civil rights but also made quite an
impact on our society. Some negative impacts that have occurred included inflicted violence and
large numbers of deaths within the African American community. Many families and friends

Frankenstein s monster is an eight foot tall, malformed human child. The monster has the mind of
a child in an eight foot body, green with a nail in his head, Frankenstein s monster is mentally a

he hates what he sees. Victor produces such a grotesque model for his procreation in part as a

Bruno Bettelheim s Fairy Tale Insight Essay
The birth of fairy tales is many times unknown, but their reputations have always remained the
same. These tales not only attract children with their wondrous lands and magical charm, but they
captivate the child by involving relatable characters with recognizable problems. While these
stories provide mind churning imagination, the lesson they provide does not cease to exist when
the book is closed.
Bruno Bettelheim, the author of Uses of Enchantment, has constructed an evaluation that fairy tale s
offer insight to the child s psychological life. He believes such literature depicts underline meaning
to ways in which the child develops and deals with real life conflicts. Undertaking such a strong
controversial topic for the first time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this statement s broadness, it remains true for the sole fact that children do not have much
comprehensible knowledge of most subjects at an adolescent age. Bettelheim implies his words
though, as if children have understanding of many things, but fairy tales being the most intelligible
to them. Bettelheim also makes unexplainable assumptions about the psyche of a child. He
compares their mind more to the developed adult who knows how to cope with struggles of
society rather than viewing the child as the undeveloped innocent mind that it is. Fairy tales are
harmless to a child while it may regress an adult. Bettelheim fails to recognize the gap of minds
(95). He also falls short of realizing that even though he is trying to defend the child and the way
their mind works, Bettelheim still thinks and reacts like an adult and cannot place himself in the
child s thinking position but only observe them.
Another aid in the justification that children may not always find an emphasized meaning to a
fairy tale is the idea that children begin in a largely animistic world and only slowly learn the art
of abstract thinking (95). The fact that the books offer more than just a beginning, middle, and end
solution to a story for children has been disregarded. Rarely are children attentive to the story
itself, but more intrigued with the illustrations and voice of the story teller. Books are generally
read to children before bedtime to calm them and offer a time to

Korsgaard Normative Questions
** The normative question
Korsgaard frames the question that is central to ethics as the `normative question . An answer to the
normative question, in Korsgaard s view must be tailored to address someone in the first person
perspective, since the question arises from the first person perspective.
Korsgaard writes that it is helpful to imagine the normative question as the question that is asked
when moralities demands are difficult:
#+BEGIN_QUOTE
When you want to know what a philosopher s theory of normativity is, you must place yourself in
the position of an agent on whom morality is making a difficult claim. You then ask the
philosopher: must I really do this? Why must I do it? And his answer is his answer to the normative
question.[fn:176]
#+END_QUOTE
Korsgaard uses this idea as a kind of thought experiment to see whether a particular approach to
morality is convincing. In /Sources of Normativity/ she discusses several approaches to morality

According to a constructivist reading of Kant, morality is grounded in the will or practical reason
and particular moral obligations are constructed by practical reason. The fact that the moral law is
a demand of reason or rationality provides a justification for subjecting ourselves to morality:
moralities demands are rational. At the same time Korsgaard argues that it explains why we are
motivated to act in accordance with the moral law: the moral law is a demand of our own will.
Constructivism is tied to what Korsgaars names the Kantian `ethics of autonomy . The main idea of
the Kantian ethics of autonomy that Korsgaard defends is the idea that morality is not grounded in
something that is external to practical reason or the will, but rather that it is grounded in the will or

With Cushings syndrome, this cycle is disrupted, resulting in an excess of circulating cortisol. There
are multiple mechanisms that can disrupt the cycle and they can be classified as either ACTH
dependent or ACTH independent Cushings Syndrome. The most common form of Cushings
Syndome is an ACTH dependent form called Cushings Disease. This type accounts for two thirds of
cushings syndrome and is the result of either an adenoma or carcinoma on the pituitary gland. The
tumor causes overproduction of ACTH, resulting in increased release of cortisol from the adrenal
gland. ACTH dependent Cushings Syndrome can also result from ectopic tumors that cause
overproduction of ACTH or CRH. The most frequent is small cell lung carcinoma (12% of patients
develop Cushings syndrome). A final type of ACTH dependent cushings syndrome is from
exogenous ACTH administration, typically the use of synthetic steroids. ACTH independent
Cushings Syndrome typically originates from abnormalities of the adrenal gland. Adrenal adenoma
and adrenal carcinoma occur when there is a benign or cancerous tumor on the adrenal gland.
These tumors can cause over production of cortisol, disrupting homeostasis. Other diseases like
Carney complex and McCune Albright syndrome have also been associated with abnormalities of
the adrenal gland, causing overproduction of cortisol. A final form of cushings syndrome is

As well as other features, car crumple zones greatly improve the the safety of a vehicle. There
are very few disadvantages to having a new and working car crumple zone. The disadvantages
are: After a collision, the cost of repairs to the vehicle is greatly increased. Because crumple
zones are so effective, often even minor crashes must be repaired. Crumple zones also have to
be kept up to date because of road safety regulations. This is an extra expense, and also makes
selling cars with old safety systems difficult. In conclusion, it is very advantageous to have a
new and working crumple zone. Car crumple zones greatly reduce the force that reaches the
occupant of the car by redistributing the force of the collision around the car, and increasing the
time taken for the car to stop. Redistributed force means that less of the force of the impact

the force of the collision is actually lowered. All of this makes it less likely for people to be injured

Beauty s camerawork is the use of the technique to reinforce the message of the movie s tagline,

so that organizational goals can be accomplished. (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg Coulter, 2012, p.10)
Managers play an important role as the organization requires their skills to overcome the
challenges in chaotic times. Besides, manager is vital to make sure all the work activities operate
smoothly and thus achieve the goals efficiency and effectively. There is said to be three specific
categorization schemes which are functions, roles and skills to describe what managers exactly
needed to do at each level of management. Firstly, there are four managerial functions as identified
in Henri Fayol s research that underlying the framework of a manager s jobs which are planning,
organizing, leading and controlling. Planning as the first step in managerial functions requires the
managers to develop strategies and plans to define and aim at some organization s goals. (Education
Portal, 2014) The managers are also responsible for determining and allocating the limited
resources. This is called as organizing function. Next, in the leading function, managers involve in
communicating, motivating, encouraging and inspiriting his subordinates towards higher
productivity. (Education Portal, 2014) Controlling means how the activities are monitored by
managers to ensure the goals are achieved as planned. (Robbins, et.al, 2012).For example, a

The Witches Are The Catalyst In Macbeth
Whenever there is a mass murder and dozens of innocent people die the world wants to know why
the murderer would do such a thing. Sometimes, the murderer is acting under the influence of
someone else. This is the case in William Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of Macbeth, where the
titular character commits multiple crimes after hearing three witches predict his future. In The
Tragedy of Macbeth, the witches are the catalyst to all of Macbeth s crimes. This can be seen
when they convince Macbeth that he will become king, they motivate him to kill Banquo and they
inform him that he is virtually unkillable and should fear MacDuff. To begin, the witches are the
catalyst to Macbeth s crimes because the convince him that he will become king. Macbeth first
meets the witches while returning from a gruesome battle and it is safe to say that they greet him
with some audacious titles. They initially greet him as the Thane of Glamis and the Thane of
Cawdor, but it is their final greeting which has the greatest effect on Macbeth. The witches hail
Macbeth as someone that shalt be king hereafter! (1.3.53). This ignites a fire inside Macbeth, who
is an immensely ambitious person. He begins to fantasize about the luxurious life he would have if
he were the king of Scotland and he suddenly has the temptation to kill King Duncan. Although the
witches prediction is favourable, Macbeth has no reason to believe them, at least until one of their
other predictions turns out to be true. This

Short Note On The Coffee Shop And Dilli Wali Girlfriend
I sat in the coffee shop, listening to Dilli Wali Girlfriend that played on the T.V. screen. It was
interesting how these cafГ©s played Hindi songs. Especially, the ones I loved. The waiter
dropped my coffee off and left me to wait. My people were late. Ms. Saini, a voice called behind
me. I stood up, quietly, and gave my bosses forced smiles. They were two middle aged men and
an older woman. Mr. Mehra, Mr. Sharma, and Mrs. Khan, good to see you, I said as they joined
me. Oh, we re so sorry, Preet! Mrs. Khan said, taking the chair next to mine. You know Delhi
traffic. Ah, of course. I do happen to live an hour away from here, I replied. Same here, Mr. Mehra
nodded. I am sorry, but I have another meeting after this.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mehra praised. Let me guess, you don t have anyone else to go represent the company? I said.
The three of them nodded with sheepish looks. Sighing heavily, I sipped on my coffee. What do
I have to do? Sell our company, Mr. Sharma said. What?! I asked, shocked as I put the coffee cup
down. Mrs. Khan rolled her eyes and said, By selling, he means trying to get the Khurana
company to work with us. Make our company look good. If our company and their company
combine, we can have crores and crores of money! What s in it for me? A way better income and
status. Also, your friend, Piyali, is accompanying you, Mr. Mehra smiled. I weighed my options.
If someone else went, they would either fail and ruin everything, but if someone gets the deed
done, we ll all get a better life. I ll do it. The song on the T. V. changed to some old song with
lyrics like, hum bhi hai josh mein, bate kar hosh mein...(we re prepared for everything, say
something that sounds sane). Great! they said simultaneously. I had no idea what I was getting
myself into. ___________________ Mumma, please hat jao (please stop)! You re being irritating!
I cried as she droned about her latest dream. My mother was a lonely housewife who loved to
gossip, but unfortunately, had no one to gossip with. Her most favorite hobby was sharing her latest
dreams. Right now, she was talking about seeing her dead grandfather. But listen, Preet! she
insisted, Your grandfather

The Argument From Religious Experience
The Argument from Religious Experience
The argument for God, based on personal Religious experiences, is an argument that cannot be
refuted by others. While others may not have the ability to prove the existence of God, through
another s experiences, they also cannot disprove this existence. A person s personal experiences are
something that no other person can determine, nor argue. My experiences are my interpretations for
the occurrences within my life, therefore, another person cannot determine what my true
experiences are, or how they make me feel or believe. Kreeft points out that there really is no need
for an argument for the existence of God, based on these personal experiences, since another person
cannot determine another s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These experiences cannot be argued by anyone, since the person in which it occurred, is the only
one with the ability to provide the reality to others.
While a person may not have the ability to argue the experiences of another person, one can
certainly argue the differences in these reported experiences. Accounts from different people,
who cite various experiences, creates an argument against the existence of God, based on
religious experiences. Utilizing these inconsistencies, people attempt to refute the existence of
God by outlining these inconsistencies with various reports of the people claiming to have
received these experiences (Holt, 2008). Persons who are skeptical of the religious experiences
to support God will look to find inconsistencies within the stories of those reporting these
experiences. However, to the believer, variances are a way of action for God. None of the
miracles performed within the Bible were performed in the same manner. While the overall
miracle may have been the same, the manner in which it was performed may vary. As an example,
Jesus healed two blind men in vastly differing ways. One man, Jesus spat in the dirt to create mud,
then rubbed the mud on the man s eyes and instructed him to wash in the pool of Siloam, to which

Tahiti History And Culture
Tahiti essay Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia and is situated halfway between South
America and Australia. The island is best known for the beauty of the cultural traditions and
beautiful beaches (Tahiti tourism, 2017). Tahiti was one of the last islands of Polynesia to be
settled and was one of the last to be colonised by Southeast Asia (Tahiti History and culture, 2017)
.This evidence suggests that the Tahitians originated from Samoa and the island was settled
approximately 2000 years ago. Through this information we can see that the Samoans arrival to
Tahiti was intentional and that they came from a west to east direction. The Samoans were able to

The Tahitians used the land of Tahiti in a sustainable way and eventually make high classed
boats with the tree wood from the island. Which the Samoans then used to travel and went on to
setting Hawaii. The Tahitians used their land for mostly market gardening, food crops and food
orchards. Before the arrival of the Europeans the Tahitians wore clothing that was made out of
various plants such as dried pandanus leaves, coconut fibre and breadfruit bark. Tahiti is very
mountainous island 61% of the island is cover by slopes and mountainous terrain (Tahiti tourism,
2017). Evidence suggests that three quarters of Tahiti s surface area is unsuitable for cultivation
(forestry department, 2016). The islands of Tahiti are believed to have formed from a series of
underwater volcanic eruption (tahiti.com, 2017). Even though Tahiti doesn t have the best
landscape for farming the Tahitians used the land they had very well. Thus, Tahiti is a small
island located 8,000 kilometres away from Australia and is best known for it pristine beaches
(Tahiti tourism, 2017). It was first settled approximately 200 years ago by the Samoans (Tahiti

By holding teachers responsible for assessing students, teachers understand they need to provide a higher quality of education. As we see a higher emphasis on assessments and the accountability on teachers. We are now required to provide evidence of student s achievements (Rink Williams, 2003). We can provide these achievements with hard copies of assessments taken by the students. Earlier in the paper I had mentioned the two assessments commonly used through out schools. Another assessment that is highly used in physical education is authentic assessment, which was promoted by Grant Wiggins (1989). This sort of assessment places students in real world problems which students may use skills and knowledge to solve these issues (Jacalyn Lund, 1997). There are about 15 forms of authentic assessments. In The Kite Runner I discovered that Hassan had been raped by Assef, and Amir had no intentions to stop what was happening to stand up for his best friend. That gruesome experience can translate to what happened in OedipusRex. In Oedipus Rex, Oedipus wife, Jocasta, winds up killing herself knowing that she married her son, but that s not it. Bettelheim also makes unexplainable assumptions about the psyche of a child. He compares their mind more to the developed adult who knows how to cope with struggles of society rather than viewing the child as the undeveloped innocent mind that it is. Fairy tales are harmless to a child while it may regress an adult. Bettelheim fails to recognize the gap of minds (95). He also falls short of realizing that even though he is trying to defend the child and the way their mind works, Bettelheim still thinks and reacts like an adult and cannot place himself in the child s thinking position but only observe them. Another aid in the justification that children may not always find an emphasized meaning to a fairy tale is the idea that children begin in a largely animistic world and only slowly learn the art of abstract thinking (95). The fact that the books offer more than just a beginning, middle, and end solution to a story for children has been disregarded. • 46. Short Note On The Coffee Shop And Dilli Wali Girlfriend I sat in the coffee shop, listening to Dilli Wali Girlfriend that played on the T.V. screen. It was interesting how these cafГ©s played Hindi songs. Especially, the ones I loved. The waiter dropped my coffee off and left me to wait. My people were late. Ms. Saini, a voice called behind me. I stood up, quietly, and gave my bosses forced smiles. They were two middle aged men and an older woman. Mr. Mehra, Mr. Sharma, and Mrs. Khan, good to see you, I said as they joined me. Oh, we re so sorry, Preet! Mrs. Khan said, taking the chair next to mine. You know Delhi traffic. Ah, of course. I do happen to live an hour away from here, I replied. Same here, Mr. Mehra nodded. I am sorry, but I have another meeting after this.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mehra praised. Let me guess, you don t have anyone else to go represent the company? I said. The three of them nodded with sheepish looks. Sighing heavily, I sipped on my coffee. What do I have to do? Sell our company, Mr. Sharma said. What?! I asked, shocked as I put the coffee cup down. Mrs. Khan rolled her eyes and said, By selling, he means trying to get the Khurana company to work with us. Make our company look good. If our company and their company combine, we can have crores and crores of money! What s in it for me? A way better income and status. Also, your friend, Piyali, is accompanying you, Mr. Mehra smiled. I weighed my options. If someone else went, they would either fail and ruin everything, but if someone gets the deed done, we ll all get a better life. I ll do it. The song on the T. V. changed to some old song with lyrics like, hum bhi hai josh mein, bate kar hosh mein...(we re prepared for everything, say something that sounds sane). Great! they said simultaneously. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. ___________________ Mumma, please hat jao (please stop)! You re being irritating! I cried as she droned about her latest dream. My mother was a lonely housewife who loved to gossip, but unfortunately, had no one to gossip with. Her most favorite hobby was sharing her latest dreams. • 47. The Argument From Religious Experience The Argument from Religious Experience The argument for God, based on personal Religious experiences, is an argument that cannot be refuted by others. While others may not have the ability to prove the existence of God, through another s experiences, they also cannot disprove this existence. A person s personal experiences are something that no other person can determine, nor argue. My experiences are my interpretations for the occurrences within my life, therefore, another person cannot determine what my true experiences are, or how they make me feel or believe. Kreeft points out that there really is no need for an argument for the existence of God, based on these personal experiences, since another person cannot determine another s ... While a person may not have the ability to argue the experiences of another person, one can certainly argue the differences in these reported experiences. Accounts from different people, who cite various experiences, creates an argument against the existence of God, based on religious experiences. Utilizing these inconsistencies, people attempt to refute the existence of God by outlining these inconsistencies with various reports of the people claiming to have received these experiences (Holt, 2008). Persons who are skeptical of the religious experiences to support God will look to find inconsistencies within the stories of those reporting these experiences. However, to the believer, variances are a way of action for God. None of the miracles performed within the Bible were performed in the same manner. While the overall miracle may have been the same, the manner in which it was performed may vary. As an example, Jesus healed two blind men in vastly differing ways. One man, Jesus spat in the dirt to create mud, then rubbed the mud on the man s eyes and instructed him to wash in the pool of Siloam, to which the man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
