Genocide In Bosnia Research Paper
Genocide In Bosnia The Genocide in Bosnia was the outcome of misleadership and late intervention
by the world. The Bosnian conflict was a war that led to the death of over 100,000 soldiers and
civilians(War Crime). The war consisted consisted of two sides: the Bosnian Serbs and the Bosnian
Croats. The conflict was handled improperly. It even came close to home as one american soldier was
stranded in Bosnia in the middle of the war witnessing all that the UN and the government of the
Bosnian Serbs would pronounce to be false. Genocide means any of the following acts committed
with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group(US Holocaust
Museum) .The Bosnian war is a pure example of Genocide. In 1995 the Bosnian Serbs massacred the
town of Srebrenica. Eight thousand Muslim Men and boys died while the women were raped and then
slaughtered(War crime). Civilian killings were directed toward Muslims and in 1971 the Muslim ...

Booker T. Washington
Established in history for his tremendous efforts to improve the condition of blacks in the United
States, Booker T. Washington well deserves admission into the Progressive Hall of Fame. Washington
took it upon his own conscience to deal with the poverty and discrimination faced by black americans
during the Jim Crow era. He provided education and economic opportunity to disadvantaged black
men at institutes, much like the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Though Washington focused moreso
on economic equality than social equality, he provided a stepping stone for the future, which would
surmount to the furthering of civil rights for blacks.
In a time of desperation for the common black man, Washington provided a beacon of hope, providing
a community to those lost in the waves of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Washington took advantage of the situation, offering a humble plea to the white race, so that his black
brothers could be employed. Washington then continued to describe the fidelity that the Negro would
offer, being a reliable source of work. Washington s views were not without fault however, as they
were assailed by W.E.B. Du Bois for subjugating the black race to menial labor and social inferiority.
In Du Bois essay Of Mr. Booker T. Washington and Others in his collection The Souls of Black Folk,
Du Bois accuses Washington of allowing the South to solidify the supremacy of the white race over
the black. Washington s programme practically accepts the alleged inferiority of the Negro races.
Though partly true, Washington s incentive was not to gain equal economic footing, but a footing at
all. Due to the numerous labor strikes following the Panic of 1893, unemployment went through the
roof, leaving many white southerners without an efficient labor force. Washington chose to fill the gap
with a band of hard working blacks, so that they may prove their aptitude to their white employers.
Washington insisted instead that blacks could surmount trade unions by

The Effects Of Performing Local Pwht And Considerations
CHAPTER 1
Literature and Previous Work
Introduction and Related Research
There is a common practice to perform post weld heat treatment when performing alterations or
repairs to pressure vessels that have been stress relived prior to being commissioned. This research
paper is the study of the consequences of performing local PWHT and considerations that need to be
taken when determining what type of stress relieving is to be performed to meet code requirements.
Post weld heat treatment is an effective way to minimize weld residual stresses in pressure vessels and
piping equipment. PWHT is a required for carbon steels above a code defined thickness threshold and
other lo allow steels to mitigate the propensity for crack initiation and ultimately, brittle fracture, and
is often employed to mitigate stress corrosion cracking due to environmental conditions. Performing
local PWHT following component repairs or alterations is often more practical and cost effective than
heat treating an entire vessel or a large portion of the pressure boundary. Spot or bulls eye
configurations are often employed in industry to perform PWHT following local weld repairs to
regions of the pressure boundary. Both the ASME Boiler and Pressure vessel code and the National
Board inspection code permit the use of local PWHT around nozzles or other pressure boundary
repairs or alterations. Additionally, welding research council bulletin 452 offers detailed guidance
relating to local PWHT and

Depression Essay
Depression Introduction Depression is a common illness most people are affected by. Every person
has suffered through at least one depression episode if not more. Depression does not discriminate
against age, ethnicity or gender. For some people, depression is so severe they feel like it s not worth
living. Other people feel generally miserable or unhappy without really knowing why. Definition
Depression is a medical illness that involves the mind and body. It affects how you feel, think and
behave. Depression can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems (Mayo Clinic, 2011).
When Depression occurs, it intervenes with daily activities and lacks the feeling of any sort of joy or

Causes of Depression Many things may lead to depression but according to the NIMH (2012), cutting
edge research has presented new opportunities for studying people with depression. Brain imaging
technologies, like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have shown that the brains of people with
depression actually look different from those of people without depression. Also Emedicineheath
(2012) noted, depression is not caused by personal weakness and is not a character flaw. When people
suffer from depression, chemicals in your brain called neurotransmitters are out of balance . Many
people believe it s a combination of family genes and/or a stress related event. Reported by
MayoClinic (2012) Depression is more common in people whose biological family members also
have this condition . Depression may begin with a simple difficult situation or a very big stressful
event such as lost a loved one, had a baby, recently divorced, been diagnosed with a long term disease
such as diabetes or heart disease. Experts in Emedicinehealth (2012) suggested sometimes even happy
life events, such as a marriage or promotion, can trigger depression because of the stress that comes
with change (para 4). Depression can also be caused by hormones. According to MayoClinic (2011)
Changes in the body s balance of hormones may be involved in

Project Requirements Of AAir Quality
3 Feasibility Study
3.1 Project requirements
The main requirements of this project is to create a solution that is capable of detecting a change of air
quality in a room(s) without a physical connection to the sensor and the web page host.
The sensor must be able to detect a change in air quality such as temperature and humidity. A wireless
network connection will be required so that data can be submitted to a webpage which will be
constantly updated via a live stream.
There must be some form of interaction with the end user, being able to send an alarm warning the
user about the room condition or a warning system on the sensor webpage with an alert on the page.
Also the webpage must be able to display multiple results in the event additional sensors are added.
3.2 Potential solutions and technical feasibility
I have three potential solutions, however there is only a slight variation between them, as a result, I
will make statements on the changes in the following solutions, and note in the title will cover what
area the solution covers to prevent repetition.
3.2.1 Solution 1 Temperature humidity sensor with XML data format
The first stage would be to build or obtain(both have advantages, building a sensor is more flexible
plus be more accessible but would be time consuming whereas obtaining one would be more
restrictive but it would save time for more important tasks) a sensor that can detect fluctuations in
temperature and humidity.
The next step would be to

Why Was The Visit From Commodore Perry A Turning Point In...
1. Why was the visit from Commodore Perry a turning point in Japanese history? Before 1853, Japan
remained in isolation from the other Western powers, but the arrival of Commodore Matthew C. Perry
influenced Japan to expand their trade. With the American fleet of warships led by Perry, it
intimidated Japan to open their foreign interests in hope of arising trading opportunities from both
sides. In a way, the U.S. military superiority spurred the Japanese to agree to the Treaty of Kanagawa.
This treaty allowed the return of American sailors, allowed U.S. residence, and opened two ports in
Japan. This indicated that Perry s visit marked a turning point in Japan s history; in addition, Japan
continued to negotiate treaties with U.S. and other countries for opening their ports for trade and
residence. 2. How was Japan s experience after 1854 similar to China? Japan s experiences after 1854
were very similar to those of China s. For instance, China and Japan served as important foreign
interests to the Western powers. The reason why the Western powers were so interested in those two
countries was due to the increasing rivalry and economic interests. As a result of foreign interaction by
force or intimidation, Japan and China faced challenges such as adapting to an industrial and
technological advanced society of the West. Both signed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Origins Behind Mimes
The teachings about origins behind Mimes were very beneficial to me. It was such a refresher to read
about the vision that Larnell Harris had about a person with a white face and white gloves, using
creative moves to flow with a gospel song, simply an amazing vision that has came to past. Now we
have mime ministries all over the country. As I did more research about the history of mimes I also
learned that this art form was not always used for its good. The Greeks used it show stories to there
gods where their acts were sexual in nature. To me this does not bother me one bit because God can
take a mess and certainly turn it for good. Even though it was used in bad ways doesn t mean it had to
stay that way. It was also a key factor to let Mimes

The North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Essay
The North American Nursing Diagnosis Association uses Gordon s Framework as a foundation for its
nursing diagnosis (Edelman Mandle 2014). Gordon s framework consists of functional health patterns
as defined by Endleman and Mandle (2014) is, viewing the individual as a whole being using
interrelated behavioral areas (p. 150). There are eleven patterns used as a tool to collect information
during assessments in order to create a plan for validation and communication among the nursing
profession. It focuses on five areas; pattern, individual environment, age development, functional and
lastly cultural. With the various detailed questions related to the health perception, is a method devised
by Marjory Gordon to be used by nurses in the nursing process to provide a more comprehensive
nursing assessment of the patient. Marjorie Gordon (1987) proposed functional health patterns as a
guide for establishing a comprehensive nursing data base. These 11 categories make possible a
systematic and standardized approach to data collection, and enable the nurse to determine the
following aspects of health and human function: At this time I have not been able to incorporate
Gordon s framework within my practice for I have been home since week 2 has begun. I am able to
incorporate this into my own and identify my own patterns when confronted with illness and assessing
my own. Two patterns that have emerge from completing the framework are Nutritional and Metabolic

Florence Art School Research Paper
Florence requires more advanced education in the arts. I propose that a new academy be constructed in
the city with the purpose of teaching these skills to citizens from across Europe. The main concern for
this academy is the curriculum. First of all, there should be an emphasis on Humanism, because it s a
belief system growing in popularity that has been advancing the arts so far and has been restoring
Roman design elements in all mediums of art, most notably observable in architecture and
perspective. Next, I should specify the materials that will be taught. There will be a focus in
architecture, painting, metalworking, ceramics and sculpture. There will also be a language
requirement, calling for students to learn classical Latin and Greek while at the Academies, allowing
for them to read original Roman and Greek texts. This will allow them to draw inspiration for their
work. As someone who learned the secrets of Architecture by studying Ancient Roman structures and
texts, I can attest to their ingenuity and knowledge, some of which, remains undiscovered. In addition,
I propose that a library be constructed in order for students to have access to original Ancient Greek
and Ancient Roman texts and sources. Finally, some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

against his father. He comes to the stand, but the judge closes the case. The judge advises that Albert
and his family move out of the county. When they walk out the court room, Sarty and his father are
accused of being barn burners by a little kid. Then they head to the wagon with the rest of his family

The Pros And Cons Of Air Compressor
Introduction
There are few things more frustrating to a car owner than a flat tire, especially when that flat tire is
discovered just before a big getaway. Remedying a deflated tire can be a chore, but when you
introduce an air compressor to the situation it becomes a whole lot easier.
What Is An Air Compressor?
An air compressor is a device which is used to compress and store air. When the time comes to release
the air into another object, the gas is pushed into its new home with immense force, which is what
makes air compressors so useful when it comes to inflating a car tire in a timely manner.
However, the uses of an air compressor extend far beyond the realm of automobiles. Owing to their
ability to convert electric energy into kinetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cartman Car Air Compressor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F8HI600
The Cartman Car Air Compressor is a heavy duty yet relatively inexpensive air compressor designed
for those who must inflate a couple of tires at a time.
Pros
Powerful
When it comes to sheer power, you re going to struggle to find a better air compressor than this. It
comes fitted with an extra strength motor, which allows for complete inflation in half the time of the
average air compressor.
Quiet
Powerful motors often create quite a bit of noise pollution, but that is not the case with the Cartman
Car Air Compressor. Despite the incredible strength of its motor, it is almost entirely silent when in
use.
Cons
Possibly Too Demanding
The above average strength of this air compressor is great. That is, of course, if your car can handle it.
If your car isn t particularly powerful, you may run into a bit of trouble. Multiple users of the Cartman
Car Air Compressor have claimed that it resulted in blown fuses in their vehicles. A blown fuse in a
car isn t too challenging to fix, but it is a major inconvenience if you re far from home, so it s best to
avoid this compressor until you are absolutely certain that it won t damage your

The Contributions Of Freud And The Case Of Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, is predominantly recognized as one of the most
influential and authoritative thinkers of the twentieth century. Freud gave a broad perspective on
things involving dreams, religion, and cultural artifacts while still focusing on different states of the
mind, such as unconsciousness. Freud also relied on a local sexual repression issue to create theories
about human behavior. His theories and ideas of psychoanalysis still have a strong impact on
psychology and early childhood education today. Freud s most important claim is that with
psychoanalysis he had invented a new science of the mind, however, remains the subject of copious
critical debate and controversy. Sigmund Freud was born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

time, many psychoanalysts were drafted into war efforts, as physicians or as psychiatrists, due to the
rise in war neuroses. Many psychiatrists at the time believed that when soldiers showed symptoms of
constant nervousness, nightmares, and traumatic memories of war experiences, they were merely
cowards trying to escape combat. During the First World War, this perception started to change and
people began to think that these symptoms were signs of real psychiatric problems. Shortly after,
Freud created a model of the mind called the Psychic

What Is The Theme Of A Worn Path
Introduction A Worn Path story by Eudora Welty is an exciting and amazing story that I love to read. It
is a short story about a very old black woman, Phoenix Jackson who preserves heroically in the
difficult circumstances which mean she encounters many hardships on her way to find the medicine to
cure his grandson. She is not only and elder, but brittle and lonely as well. But for a good portion of
the story, she never gives up in a journey into town because she is on the mission to help one she
loves. This action takes place in December, circa 1940, in southwestern Mississippi. The scene begins
in the wilderness and then shifts to the city of Natchez. I admire the cleverness of the author, Eudora

Phoenix first encounter with the white hunter is a perfect example. The hunter dismisses her journey s
importance by saying that he knows.....colored people would never miss a chance to see santa claus

Furthermore, Phoenix Jackson must bear racial prejudice as part of her everyday life. Consider that the
white hunter refers to her condescendingly as Granny. The narrator does not reveal the race of the
shopper, the attendant, and the nurse. However, they are likely white, for they also treat her
condescendingly. The shopper calls her Grandma, and the nurse calls her Aunt Phoenix. It is
interesting to note, though, that the people she encounters do treat her with a modicum of respect and
kindness. A sign perhaps that America is making gradual progress in race relations. But not until the

Impact Of Globalization On China
Introduction This paper sheds light on the impact of globalisation on China and the factors, which
affect the process of globalisation in the developing country like China. China is a developing
country; its service sector is generally small scale and weak in strength compared with other sectors in
the country and its counterparts in the other nations. The business is pre ruled by traditional services
and presently can t seem to be expanded sector wise. When the markets open up, they will feel the
pressure from different nations, which have pre emptive advantages in business thoughts, quality and
scale. In any case, the open entryway change during recent years saw the effective change from a
conventional arranged economy to a market economy and from withdrawal to openness. The effect of
such a change has gone past desire and been overpowering. What s more, it is likewise genuine that no
single nation can avoid globalisation. Support is the best way to distinguish and get a handle on the
open doors. Interest is additionally the best way to stay up to date with the standard of the world
economy. Discussion The impact of globalisation on China s economic growth is broad. During the
previous 20 years, China s worldwide trade extended 16 times, with its positioning in the world
skipped to seventh from the original 32nd and trade dependence rate lifted from 10 to 36%. The
amount of FDI is presently the largest among developing nations. As indicated by a review on the

Analysis Of Watchman Nee s Song Of Songs
The book Song of Songs, by Watchman Nee is about his interpretation of the book in the Bible Song
of Songs, written by Solomon. The book in the Bible is basically about the romance between a lover
and his beloved. The language speaks of the love in a marriage relationship and the pursuing nature of
the two lovers. It is a very touching dialogue and has a lot of meaning hidden in the text. Watchmen
Nee brings to life his interpretation of the text and how it relates to believers pursuit of Christ. He also
goes into the spiritual aspect of the Biblical text in his interpretations. The read is very deep and
informative on what is actually written in the Song of Songs. He gives many insights into the book in
the Bible, many that relate to believers now and some that I touched my life. There are many sections
of the book Song of Songs ranging from, The Initial Pursuit and Satisfaction, to The Groaning of the
Flesh and so on. Each of the sections cover certain verses from the Biblical text and include
subsections on the interpretation of verses. The part of the book that touched me the most was in
section two, on The Call for Deliverance from the Self, specifically, Failure and Recovery. This
section speaks of how the beloved wants to dwell with her lover in his presence, living with the him
and his benefits, but not wanting to change her ways to be closer to him. As Watchman Nee says, in

Structure And Purpose Of The Human Genome Project
Human Genome Research Paper
Everything that you are made up of comes from the same set of unique sequences inside your body.
All of your traits, characteristics, actions, and functions are controlled and created from a set of
genetic instructions. These instructions are called a genome. The human genome contains endless
amounts of information. Scientists have been working for years on ways to unlock the human genome
and gain access to all the information it holds. These studies presents multiple benefits but also come
with some controversy. Despite that, the human genome has been the focus of scientific interest for
years, and for a understandable reasons.
According to the UXL Encyclopedia of Science, A genome is an organism s entire set of genetic
information. In living organisms, that means its entire set of DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, the
molecule that encodes genetic instructions. ( Genome 2015). Each genome contains all of the
information needed to build and maintain that organism. All of this information is embedded within a
sequence of base pairs that is over 6 billion bases long. By analyzing and reading the order of the
bases, scientists can begin to understand the structure and purpose of the human genome. However
this process is very long and tedious. Few attempts to decode the human genome had been made
before the Human Genome Project.
The Human Genome Project impacted the course of science and discovery forever. It was one of the
most well known,

Describe The Pathogenesis Behind Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become brittle and lose their durable architecture. This
condition can be caused as a side effect of some drugs such as corticosteroids, hormonal changes or
due to nutritional deficiencies. The pathogenesis behind osteoporosis is an imbalance between bone
catabolism and anabolism; which nutrition contributes greatly to. The two main nutrients that are
implicated with bone turnover are calcium and vitamin D, and a deficiency in either of them can result
in impaired bone matrix deposition. Calcium and vitamin D are tightly linked; the body cannot benefit
from either if they are not present together. Calcium is one of the major components of bone and
regardless of the amount of intake, it cannot be absorbed

Closed Itemsets Mining Closed Itemset
2.4.1 A Closed Algorithm Mining closed itemset, initially proposed in [23] Pasquier et al .A close
algorithm is a basic algorithm in frequent closed itemsets mining which is based on Apriori
algorithm[25] in frequent item mining. A close operation is performed in the following two general
steps: Producing frequent generators and achieving closure of frequent generators. For A close
algorithm, an itemset p is generator of closed itemset y, if p is one of smallest itemsets (it may be more
than one), and it determines y with Galois closure operator h(p)=y [26]. To produce generators, a level
wise approach, similar to that of Apriori algorithm is taken. Then three steps of pruning are conducted
on candidate generators, and useless generators are pruned thereby[26]. The operation of generator
production is repeated until no other generator is produced. After producing generators G1 to Gn (n is
maximum generator size), closure of all these frequent generators should be computed. The closure of
all frequent generators results in all closed frequent itemsets. The technique for calculating closure as
the next.
The closure of generator p which is achieved by applying function h from Relation (3) on p, is
intersection of all database transactions that include p . A close algorithm uses breath first search
strategy for mining operation, and itemset lattice is analyzed in a bottom up way. Its weak point is the
great number of candid items and passes from dataset, leading to much

Sequency Hereditary Material
INTRODUCTION: Since days bygone, study of living beings required to break barriers of the single
cell and throw light into hereditary material, giving us great insights into nucleic acid sequences. To
face the challenges associated with various questions thrown at biology, great advent was required to
be made in the area of working out the correct order of how nucleic acids are arranged in an array of
genes to give rise to various phenotypes and often, its deviations. Focus was to be shifted out of the
wet laboratory and into silicon chips .Ever since the Thus, arose the requirement of sequencing the
hereditary material, knowing about the entire genetic content of the organism or rather, it s genome
and its analysis. With the help of sequencing a great number of laboratories across the globe have
conducted groundbreaking research and this very important technique has been established as the
basis of a plethora of investigations REASON BEHIND CHOOSING GENOME ASSEMBLY: From
research laboratories to personalized genome analysis, genome sequencing and downstream
processing of the sequenced data has become a mandate for most biological experimentation. The
complete genome sequence of Haemophilus influenzae by TIGR in 1995 turned a lot of heads with the
scope of studying actual relatedness between organisms, their hereditary material, their genotypic data

The Patricians were a privileged class of Roman citizens, membership in the Patrician class was

There began to be a lot of clashes between the people, the way the Patricians ruled began to irritate the
Plebeians, bringing them to the edge of revolt. Lucius Sicinius Vellutus advised the plebeians to
secede en masse to the Mons Sacer (The Sacred Mount), a hill outside of Rome. The senate was
panicked by this and dispatched Agrippa Menenius Lanatus, a former consul who was liked by the
Plebeians, they saw him as one of their own. Menenius was well received and told them the fable of
the belly and the limbs, comparing the people to the limbs who chose not to support the belly and thus
starved themselves, just as the belly and the limbs, the city could not survive without the Patricians
and Plebeians working together in unison. Plebeians negotiated for their return to the city under one
condition. They wanted tribunes to be appointed to represent the Plebeians and to protect them from
the consuls power. Over two decades later, another tribune, Lucius Genucius, had a law passed

George Arnold Wood Convicts Analysis
Convict reputation is quite a controversial topic with two main evident opinions on how Australia s
convicts should be perceived. George Arnold Wood and several other historians have made strong
arguments in stating that convicts were victims of rapid economic change and an unjust legal system,
however, there are also many historians who oppose this view and believe that convicts were of a
professional criminal class. This essay will discuss the social and economic background of Britain at
the time, historical records of convicts and will also evaluate the arguments of historians regarding
convict identity, in order to achieve an accurate assumption on convict history.

The convict indent of the Pyramus (Making Australian History, Perspectives on the Past Since 1788,
pp. 97 101) helps to distinguish trends arising with the convicts and their sentences. The Pyramus
displays information on 30 convict women who all received a seven year sentence, except for two who
both attained life sentences, albeit similar crimes were committed. This trend highlights why
historians might perceive convicts as victims of an unjust legal system, as a woman who had been
convicted of quite a minor offence was given the same sentence as one convicted of a severer crime.
The majority of women listed in this particular indent were detained for the violation of stealing,
which poses the question, were that many women all serious criminals or were they indeed just good
people who lived in difficult times ? Case studies have been completed on several convicts and are an
exceptional way of discovering the real personality and traits of individual convicts. A noteworthy
case study written by GD Woods on John Knatchbull delves into the background behind his
conviction and the events that led to his life as a convict. Knatchbull served as a volunteer for the
British Navy before rising to the rank as captain. Shortly after this he experiences hardship where Pike
states, He seems to have then fallen on hard times and in August 1824 he was found

Everywhere today we are all categorized by race; but what is race? Where does it come from, who
dictates what s our race, what it is? Race is a group of people who share a set of characteristic mostly
but not all the time physical ones, and are said to share a common bloodline (Conley,322). Therefore,
Race is created by society who wanted to divide people into different category based in their color and
biologically features. Physically features, people thought it would be much convenient to tell the
difference between white and non white human, when they start it off with the one drop rule. The one
drop rule is when they have a one drop of black blood makes a person black(Conley,331). Which
indicates that if you would of taking the test of blood it tells you from your ancestors that were African

Social Learning And Teaching Play Essay
There is a part in the handbook, learning and teaching play. Play involves the holistic child, from the
physical, psychological, intellectual, social, and emotional. Either by working independently or group
work. Play is now a big part of the curriculum as doesn t just help with the teaching side, but it also
gives the children a way to relax and be themselves, and to express their feelings or what is going on
in their life through play. (http://ccea.org.uk accessed on 29th November 2016)
Tina Bruce would also be a big influence on play, creativity. She is a social learning theorist . Tina
identified ten principles of early childhood education. Some of these principles where, that a child
needs to be a child. Focus on what children can do taking that as the starting point and lastly the
essential interaction between child, context, and curriculum context if education is to be successful.
(How children learn 3, L. Pound, pg.12 13) Tina Bruce correlates with some of Vygotsky s theory,
with the Zone of Proximal Development. The ZPD is the distance between and student s ability to
perform tasks under guidance from teachers or teaching assistants and being able to solve problems
independently. This was seen in the observation when child A was taking child B s sand. However,
when child B confronted child A he panicked and walked away from the sand table.

I think it is not necessary that if one story seems wrong then another will also be. If someone don t
believe on one story then it is not necessary for them to not believe on another. We can t force another
to view everything in similar way.
#Juror 3.Nobody proved otherwise
If someone blame on me that i have killed someone and i have no evidence, it means not i really killed
someone. During initial inspection of the case there was no evidence in favor of kid. Due to that we
should not assume that kid had killed his father. There may be also possibility that all the evidences

Worldview As A Person s Worldview
A person s worldview may not be my worldview, a person s worldview is individual to the person. I
would define worldview as a person s specific bias or opinion on topics that influence how they look
at the world and their surroundings from what is there to what is expected to be there. Now that I have
a definition of a worldview, what is a christian worldview? With the article, A Christian Worldview,
there are five points that make up a christian worldview. First, God exists and the world was created
by Him. Secondly, humans who fully believe in God has enjoyment to look forward to after death
because they can be with God, but everyone has a soul and spirit to go somewhere after they die.
Third, science and metaphysics are not the only approach that explains the big bang theory and
everything that exists today. Fourth, epistemology is not the only intellectuality that helps us perceive
real senses. Last, there is a difference between objective morality and subjective morality along with
the Bible as a source for Christians to follow God s will for our life (Drury 3). Likewise, with the five
points to a person s worldview and a christian worldview, terminally ill or extremely pained people
end their life. Currently, there are four states that passed a law stating under certain circumstances a
person is legally allowed to die with physician assisted suicide. The opponents state that people have

These mice, a severe model from the Arthur Burghes lab at Ohio State University, are either stillborn
or die on average at approximately postnatal day 5 with approximately 40% loss of motor neurons,
representing the severe type I SMA phenotype. As is seen in human patients, mice with higher copy
numbers (more than eight) of the SMN2 transgene were phenotypically rescued, once again
demonstrating that the SMA phenotype could be modified by the number of copies of SMN2 (Monani
et al., 2000). A similar strategy was used to generate SMA mice in the Hung Li lab in Taiwan (Hsieh
Li et al., 2000). In contrast to Burghes severe model, the Hung Li SMA mice showed a range of
phenotypic severity within the same litter, from severe to moderate. Further studies indicated that this
variation in phenotypic severity was likely due to hemi or homozygous transmission of the transgenic
human SMN2 allele on the background of heterozygous deletion of the Smn1 endogenous allele,
thereby producing mice expressing varying copy numbers of the transgene (Gogliotti et al., 2010).
Building on the development of the Burghes severe model, mice expressing a SMN7 transgene in
addition to full length SMN2 were also produced (Smn1 / ;SMN2tg/tg;SMN7tg/tg). Introduction of
the SMN7 allele extended the life span of affected mice from approximately five days to
approximately thirteen days (Le et al., 2005) and indicated that SMN produced from the SMN2 locus
could be a valid therapeutic target. To date, the two most commonly used mouse models are the Smn1
/ ;SMN2tg/tg;SMN7tg/tg (SMA7 mice) and the Smn1hung / ;SMN2Hungtg/tg (Hung Li SMA
mice), which both have an average survival of approximately 13 days and recapitulate the clinical
manifestations and neuropathology of intermediate type II SMA

Essay about Descartes discourse on method
Understanding Descartes Method of Doubt
Clear your mind, if you will, of everything you have ever seen or known to be true. To begin
understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments
and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all
thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was
embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute
truth in which he would base his beliefs. Placing upon himself a task to find an axiom or absolute truth
to base all thought, he ventured as a youth in travel to collect a variety in experiences to derive some

(Descartes, Pg.19). On the other end of the spectrum, apriori knowledge ,which is an understanding
based on reasoning, is a more efficient way of explaining the method of doubt presented by Descartes.
Method of Doubt Step One
On the journey to find truth to base all thought upon, Descartes explains his first step in doing so.
Never accept anything for true which I did not clearly know to be such; that is to say, carefully to
avoid precipitancy and prejudice, and to comprise nothing more in my judgment than what was
presented to my mind so clearly and distinctly as to exclude all ground of doubt. (Kolak, Pg.228).
Assuming that everything you see is fictitious, Descartes believed he had no senses at all; body, shape,
extension, motion, and place are unreal. (Weissman, Pg.23). Our senses have failed us all at one point
or another in our lives, so why use the senses as a base for thought? The most famous quote and
philosophy by Descartes in history ever, Je pense, donc je suis, cogito ergo sum (Durant, Pg.639). I
think, therefore I am was the first step towards a basis to understand truth, and leaning away from
truth through the senses.
Method of Doubt Step Two
The second argument that Descartes defends is another question posed towards the senses. How can
we take anything as real if our dreams cannot be

Political Corruption By Government Officials For...

corruption by government officials for illegitimate personal gain. Corruption used to be a low profile

Capitalism, which is a theory that has evolved from corruption over a period of time. This idea

They drift away from the rule of law which they themselves have established to maintain social
control over their country. The government chooses to monopolize over businesses in pursuit of
getting a larger share of money. However, most of the time these turn into sunken costs, which they
then try to cover by raising tax rates. Countries that were regarded as miracles are nothing more than
havens now, for crony capitalists to get rich the easy way (Kang, 3). An example of this is in Canada,
where a big incentive in the form of tax credit is given to the Film Producing Industry. The
government has been providing tax payers money and direct subsidies in an effort to induce film
production in their province. Currently, film and television tax credits cover up to 35% of labour costs
all over Canada, except for Quebec where it covers up to 45%. This does not include the additional tax
credits that are provided to cover up the total production costs. In Alberta, the film and television
industry demanded $18 million for a project worth $32 million of building a film studio in Calgary.
The government has provided them with $10 million from property tax which means that the
remaining $22 million will be obtained from taxpayers at their cost. The film industry in Alberta
claims that this is beneficial since every buck that taxpayers contribute towards subsidies will result in
a 10 fold return to the economy. This demonstrates how Crony

Analyse the Argument of the Existence of God from...
i) Analyse the Argument for the Existence of God from Religious Experience (18)
The argument for the existence of God from Religious Experience is a simple one, with only two
premises. The first being that some people have, or have had a religious experience, the second
premise is that these are only explicable though God, thus leading to the conclusion that God exists.
This leads us to question, what exactly are religious experiences?
Theologians have struggled for centuries trying to define what a religious experience is, with many
believing a religious experience to be a sort of revelation, meaning that God reveals some part of hi
nature to the experient. St Thomas Aquinas believed that to be his Revealed Theology , where truths ...

Swinburne s third type is a strong feeling, a conviction that they were experiencing, even though there
is no phenomena surrounding the experience. The penultimate type is witnessing a perfectly normal
experience, such as the Grand Canyon, which creates a numinous experience. The final type of
experience is in perceiving a very unusual public object, like a miracle, for instance, the resurrection.
To help identify a religious experience, William James put forward four characteristics of a typical
experience. The first being passivity: how in control the experient is; as whilst you undergo a religious
experience, you take on an alternative personality outside of your own, surrendering your own control
to God. The second quality is ineffability, where the experient can t quite put the occurrence into
words. Another characteristic of a religious experience is the Noetic Quality of said experience. This
quality is the knowledge that is gained in a religious experience, knowledge that cannot be gained in a
conventional manner, and tells you something that you otherwise wouldn t know. The final quality is
transciency, where the time the experience takes doesn t dictate the significance of the experience, as
time is altered or distorted in some way, just as in a dream the dream may seem really long, whereas in
reality it s only been a few minutes

A Brief Note On Helicobacter Pylori
HELICOBACTER PYLORI
Helicobacter pylori have been implicated in cases of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer diseases( includes
duodenal and gastric ulcers). Even though these diseases were linked to stress factors, in 1983,
Australian microbiologists Warren and Marshall proved that gastritis and peptic ulcer diseases were
infectious diseases caused by a bacterium (1). This bacterium has also been linked to gastric
carcinoma and Mucosa associated lymphocyte (MALT) lymphoma (2)
This organism was formerly classified under the genus Campylobacter because scientists found a
campylobacter like bacterium in the gastric mucus of patients with chronic gastritis. It was thus
formerly called Campylobacter pylori, however, further study of the organism at genetic level by
analyzing a sequence of the 16s rRNA gene necessitated the formation of a new genus, hence the
name Helicobacter pylori (3).
Helicobacter pylori is a Gram negative spiral shaped microaerophilic rod (4). The term
microaerophilic means that the organism requires small amounts of oxygen to survive. It is also a
rapidly motile organism due to the multiple polar flagella (4). The bacterium is approximately 3µm
long and 0.5µm in diameter. The organism has 4 7 polar sheathed flagella which helps it to move in
the gastric mucus in the stomach (3). It is also a fastidious organism. This means that it requires
special nutrients to grow. The common media for isolation include Skirrow s medium with
vancomycin, polymixin B,

The return on Assets is 8.52% whereas the industry figure is 11.10%. Two of FedEx strategies that
have worked are its tie up with the US postal system and its first mover advantage in introducing the
tracking system for packages. My assessment of the sustainability of UPS s current performance does
not change.
Given your assessment of the company s strategy and the sustainability of its performance, forecast
the key factors for UPS s stock value? The original company strategy has been to deliver goods
overnight. Time bound deliveries is its main selling point. It creates security in the minds of its
customers by using the Guardian anti missile system on board its flight. FedEx offers a wide range of
products that target customers with different needs. Federal Express has been the innovator in the
strategy of allowing the customers to track their packages. This facility has developed great
confidence in the system of FedEx. In fact, the tracking system of FedEx has forced other shipping
companies also to use tracking systems. In promotions FedEx has adapted the strategy of using motor
sports. The key factors for UPS s stock value are its size, the increasing revenues from its international
operations and the increasing sales of its supply chain solutions. The investors are also impressed by
the net profit of UPS that is 8.48 which is higher than the industry figure of 7.70. The return on assets
is also 11.75 which is greater than

The Drug Of Red Blood Cells
Erythropoietin is a hormone that is produced by the kidneys in response to a decrease in the oxygen
carrying capacity of red blood cells in circulation (2). From the kidneys, erythropoietin (EPO) enters
the blood stream and enters the bone marrow where it stimulates an increase in the production of red
blood cells (1, 2). This mechanism functions as a negative feedback loop since the signaling of an
increase in the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood due to an increased number of red blood cells
inhibits further production of EPO. The release of EPO is very sensitive to the level of oxygen
carrying capacity in the blood. The simple occurrence of red blood cells death will trigger its release to
ensure normal levels are maintained (1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important aspect to producing synthesized EPO is the use of mammalian cells. EPO contains 40%
carbohydrates which are important to the stability and biosynthesis of recombinant EPO (5). In 1984,
EPO was able to be cloned and synthesized for use by using recombinant DNA technology (1, 3, 4, 5).
The biological properties of synthesized EPO are very similar to the original hormone found naturally
in the body (3). The importance of the mammalian cell carbohydrate composition allowed for the
carbohydrate portions of recombinant EPO to be almost identical to the carbohydrate portions of
native EPO (3). Success in creating synthetic EPO on a large scale that mimics native EPO in humans
allowed for the implementation of synthesized EPO for medicinal purposes. Synthesized
erythropoietin became the first hematopoietic growth factor to be used in clinical settings (1). The
discovery of synthesized EPO has provided patients with renal failure and severe anemia the ability to
reverse the effects of these disorders and improve the oxygen carrying capacity of their circulatory
system (1, 5). Individuals with kidney damage or renal failure are in need of EPO the most. Since
adults make EPO in their kidneys, any damage to the renal system will alter the ability to produce
enough EPO to sufficiently restore red blood cell levels (1, 5).
There are also some secondary

For an example, consider two alternative belief systems A...
For an example, consider two alternative belief systems A and B consisting of beliefs A1, A2 and B1,
B2 respectively. There are two beliefs in each system none of which can justify themselves alone. If
A1 → A2 and A2 → A1, then there are 2 inferential connections in A and a high inferential density.
Bonjour says this makes A likely. However, if only B1 → B2 and not vice versa, then there is only 1
non mutual inferential connection in B and thus a low inferential density. Bonjour suggests that lack of
mutual justification makes the whole system of B unjustified since B1 must act foundationally. From
this example, we can see that the coherence of a system is defined to be inversely related to the
number of beliefs in the system and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, even Bonjour s own account does not fully live up to this claim in the end. For clarity, this
initial account of Coherentism will henceforth be referred to as Non foundational Coherentism. As is
to be expected, the account of Non foundational Coherentism is not without its flaws. Firstly,
coherence is still too broadly defined by Bonjour to be useful. To illustrate the issue, consider two new
belief systems A and B. If A is more inferentially dense but B is less anomalous in content, how do
you decide which belief system is more likely? Curiously, Bonjour is largely silent on this point
despite its dramatic consequences. The effect of this observation might lead one to the same skeptical
conclusion as McGrew s linear foundationalism. In fact, this account may be even more troubling; the
total number of possible coherent belief systems increases exponentially with the number of possible
explanatory beliefs since such belief systems actually inhabit the powerset of these explanatory
beliefs. Secondly, assuming Bonjour s account of Coherentism, one might encounter a few corner
cases where such an account will fail to provide reliable justification entirely. Consider the case
presented by Olsson wherein two eyewitness accounts A1 and A2 describe an event E having
occurred. In this example it is assumed that we do not know if E occurred or who is telling the truth.
We first assume that neither account

Pay and reward systems exist in the form of pay, bonuses and benefits, financial and non financial and
designed to improve performance, increase motivation, staff retention and increase profitability.
Appreciation and gratitude is widely received as reward and the opportunity for training and
development for career progression. A good culture encompassing strong values, vision, morale s and
beliefs and behaviours expressed by employers and employees of an organisation can be the driver of
the overall performance of a company. A good culture can help support the implementation of changes
and new initiatives and are likely to be supported by those involved. 2 External factors and there
impacts: The economic climate surrounding a company can determine many things and can have
financial implications as well as affecting the levels productivity. Economic growth can lead to a lack
of employees available to fill positions because the labor market is saturated with jobs. A company
will look to offer higher wages, more benefits and incentive programs to entice potential candidates
and will invest in current employees with training and development to help retain the staff and
promote succession planning throughout the company. A downturn in economic growth can have the
opposite effect. Companies have a tendency to cut the workforce to maintain profit margins, thus
applying extra pressure to the remaining employees, causing extra work loads, poor morale and a high

  • 2. Genocide In Bosnia Research Paper Genocide In Bosnia The Genocide in Bosnia was the outcome of misleadership and late intervention by the world. The Bosnian conflict was a war that led to the death of over 100,000 soldiers and civilians(War Crime). The war consisted consisted of two sides: the Bosnian Serbs and the Bosnian Croats. The conflict was handled improperly. It even came close to home as one american soldier was stranded in Bosnia in the middle of the war witnessing all that the UN and the government of the Bosnian Serbs would pronounce to be false. Genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group(US Holocaust Museum) .The Bosnian war is a pure example of Genocide. In 1995 the Bosnian Serbs massacred the town of Srebrenica. Eight thousand Muslim Men and boys died while the women were raped and then slaughtered(War crime). Washington well deserves admission into the Progressive Hall of Fame. Washington took it upon his own conscience to deal with the poverty and discrimination faced by black americans during the Jim Crow era. He provided education and economic opportunity to disadvantaged black men at institutes, much like the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Though Washington focused moreso on economic equality than social equality, he provided a stepping stone for the future, which would surmount to the furthering of civil rights for blacks. Washington took advantage of the situation, offering a humble plea to the white race, so that his black brothers could be employed. Washington then continued to describe the fidelity that the Negro would offer, being a reliable source of work. Washington s views were not without fault however, as they were assailed by W.E.B. Du Bois for subjugating the black race to menial labor and social inferiority. In Du Bois essay Of Mr. Booker T. Washington and Others in his collection The Souls of Black Folk, Du Bois accuses Washington of allowing the South to solidify the supremacy of the white race over the black. Washington s programme practically accepts the alleged inferiority of the Negro races. Though partly true, Washington s incentive was not to gain equal economic footing, but a footing at all. Due to the numerous labor strikes following the Panic of 1893, unemployment went through the roof, leaving many white southerners without an efficient labor force. Washington chose to fill the gap with a band of hard working blacks, so that they may prove their aptitude to their white employers. Washington insisted instead that blacks could surmount trade unions by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Effects Of Performing Local Pwht And Considerations CHAPTER 1 Literature and Previous Work Introduction and Related Research There is a common practice to perform post weld heat treatment when performing alterations or repairs to pressure vessels that have been stress relived prior to being commissioned. This research paper is the study of the consequences of performing local PWHT and considerations that need to be taken when determining what type of stress relieving is to be performed to meet code requirements. Post weld heat treatment is an effective way to minimize weld residual stresses in pressure vessels and piping equipment. PWHT is a required for carbon steels above a code defined thickness threshold and other lo allow steels to mitigate the propensity for crack initiation and ultimately, brittle fracture, and is often employed to mitigate stress corrosion cracking due to environmental conditions. Performing local PWHT following component repairs or alterations is often more practical and cost effective than heat treating an entire vessel or a large portion of the pressure boundary. Spot or bulls eye configurations are often employed in industry to perform PWHT following local weld repairs to regions of the pressure boundary. Both the ASME Boiler and Pressure vessel code and the National Board inspection code permit the use of local PWHT around nozzles or other pressure boundary repairs or alterations. Additionally, welding research council bulletin 452 offers detailed guidance relating to local PWHT and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Causes of Depression Many things may lead to depression but according to the NIMH (2012), cutting edge research has presented new opportunities for studying people with depression. Brain imaging technologies, like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have shown that the brains of people with depression actually look different from those of people without depression. Also Emedicineheath (2012) noted, depression is not caused by personal weakness and is not a character flaw. When people suffer from depression, chemicals in your brain called neurotransmitters are out of balance . Many people believe it s a combination of family genes and/or a stress related event. Reported by MayoClinic (2012) Depression is more common in people whose biological family members also have this condition . Depression may begin with a simple difficult situation or a very big stressful event such as lost a loved one, had a baby, recently divorced, been diagnosed with a long term disease such as diabetes or heart disease. Experts in Emedicinehealth (2012) suggested sometimes even happy life events, such as a marriage or promotion, can trigger depression because of the stress that comes with change (para 4). The sensor must be able to detect a change in air quality such as temperature and humidity. A wireless network connection will be required so that data can be submitted to a webpage which will be constantly updated via a live stream. There must be some form of interaction with the end user, being able to send an alarm warning the user about the room condition or a warning system on the sensor webpage with an alert on the page. Also the webpage must be able to display multiple results in the event additional sensors are added. 3.2 Potential solutions and technical feasibility I have three potential solutions, however there is only a slight variation between them, as a result, I will make statements on the changes in the following solutions, and note in the title will cover what area the solution covers to prevent repetition. 3.2.1 Solution 1 Temperature humidity sensor with XML data format The first stage would be to build or obtain(both have advantages, building a sensor is more flexible plus be more accessible but would be time consuming whereas obtaining one would be more restrictive but it would save time for more important tasks) a sensor that can detect fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Before 1853, Japan remained in isolation from the other Western powers, but the arrival of Commodore Matthew C. Perry influenced Japan to expand their trade. With the American fleet of warships led by Perry, it intimidated Japan to open their foreign interests in hope of arising trading opportunities from both sides. In a way, the U.S. military superiority spurred the Japanese to agree to the Treaty of Kanagawa. This treaty allowed the return of American sailors, allowed U.S. residence, and opened two ports in Japan. This indicated that Perry s visit marked a turning point in Japan s history; in addition, Japan continued to negotiate treaties with U.S. and other countries for opening their ports for trade and residence. 2. How was Japan s experience after 1854 similar to China? Japan s experiences after 1854 were very similar to those of China s. For instance, China and Japan served as important foreign interests to the Western powers. The reason why the Western powers were so interested in those two countries was due to the increasing rivalry and economic interests. I propose that a new academy be constructed in the city with the purpose of teaching these skills to citizens from across Europe. The main concern for this academy is the curriculum. First of all, there should be an emphasis on Humanism, because it s a belief system growing in popularity that has been advancing the arts so far and has been restoring Roman design elements in all mediums of art, most notably observable in architecture and perspective. Next, I should specify the materials that will be taught. There will be a focus in architecture, painting, metalworking, ceramics and sculpture. There will also be a language requirement, calling for students to learn classical Latin and Greek while at the Academies, allowing for them to read original Roman and Greek texts. This will allow them to draw inspiration for their work. As someone who learned the secrets of Architecture by studying Ancient Roman structures and texts, I can attest to their ingenuity and knowledge, some of which, remains undiscovered. The part of the book that touched me the most was in section two, on The Call for Deliverance from the Self, specifically, Failure and Recovery. This section speaks of how the beloved wants to dwell with her lover in his presence, living with the him and his benefits, but not wanting to change her ways to be closer to him. Truly, with the advent of certain new pathies, Reflexology and acupuncture received some setback but these systems could not be ignored altogether. Their abiding qualities again attracted the attention of men in medical profession as well as others. It was during the year 1582 that two distinguished European physicians, Dr. Adamus and Dr. A tatis, brought out a book on Zone Therapy which gave eminence to this primitive system of treatment. • 23. Structure And Purpose Of The Human Genome Project Human Genome Research Paper Everything that you are made up of comes from the same set of unique sequences inside your body. All of your traits, characteristics, actions, and functions are controlled and created from a set of genetic instructions. These instructions are called a genome. The human genome contains endless amounts of information. Scientists have been working for years on ways to unlock the human genome and gain access to all the information it holds. These studies presents multiple benefits but also come with some controversy. Despite that, the human genome has been the focus of scientific interest for years, and for a understandable reasons. According to the UXL Encyclopedia of Science, A genome is an organism s entire set of genetic information. In living organisms, that means its entire set of DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, the molecule that encodes genetic instructions. ( Genome 2015). Each genome contains all of the information needed to build and maintain that organism. All of this information is embedded within a sequence of base pairs that is over 6 billion bases long. By analyzing and reading the order of the bases, scientists can begin to understand the structure and purpose of the human genome. However this process is very long and tedious. Few attempts to decode the human genome had been made before the Human Genome Project. The Human Genome Project impacted the course of science and discovery forever. This condition can be caused as a side effect of some drugs such as corticosteroids, hormonal changes or due to nutritional deficiencies. The pathogenesis behind osteoporosis is an imbalance between bone catabolism and anabolism; which nutrition contributes greatly to. The two main nutrients that are implicated with bone turnover are calcium and vitamin D, and a deficiency in either of them can result in impaired bone matrix deposition. Calcium and vitamin D are tightly linked; the body cannot benefit from either if they are not present together. • 25. Closed Itemsets Mining Closed Itemset 2.4.1 A Closed Algorithm Mining closed itemset, initially proposed in [23] Pasquier et al .A close algorithm is a basic algorithm in frequent closed itemsets mining which is based on Apriori algorithm[25] in frequent item mining. A close operation is performed in the following two general steps: Producing frequent generators and achieving closure of frequent generators. For A close algorithm, an itemset p is generator of closed itemset y, if p is one of smallest itemsets (it may be more than one), and it determines y with Galois closure operator h(p)=y [26]. To produce generators, a level wise approach, similar to that of Apriori algorithm is taken. Then three steps of pruning are conducted on candidate generators, and useless generators are pruned thereby[26]. The operation of generator production is repeated until no other generator is produced. After producing generators G1 to Gn (n is maximum generator size), closure of all these frequent generators should be computed. The closure of all frequent generators results in all closed frequent itemsets. The technique for calculating closure as the next. The closure of generator p which is achieved by applying function h from Relation (3) on p, is intersection of all database transactions that include p . A close algorithm uses breath first search strategy for mining operation, and itemset lattice is analyzed in a bottom up way. Its weak point is the great number of candid items and passes from dataset, leading to much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The convict indent of the Pyramus (Making Australian History, Perspectives on the Past Since 1788, pp. 97 101) helps to distinguish trends arising with the convicts and their sentences. The Pyramus displays information on 30 convict women who all received a seven year sentence, except for two who both attained life sentences, albeit similar crimes were committed. This trend highlights why historians might perceive convicts as victims of an unjust legal system, as a woman who had been convicted of quite a minor offence was given the same sentence as one convicted of a severer crime. The majority of women listed in this particular indent were detained for the violation of stealing, which poses the question, were that many women all serious criminals or were they indeed just good people who lived in difficult times ? I would define worldview as a person s specific bias or opinion on topics that influence how they look at the world and their surroundings from what is there to what is expected to be there. Now that I have a definition of a worldview, what is a christian worldview? With the article, A Christian Worldview, there are five points that make up a christian worldview. First, God exists and the world was created by Him. Secondly, humans who fully believe in God has enjoyment to look forward to after death because they can be with God, but everyone has a soul and spirit to go somewhere after they die. Third, science and metaphysics are not the only approach that explains the big bang theory and everything that exists today. Fourth, epistemology is not the only intellectuality that helps us perceive real senses. These mice, a severe model from the Arthur Burghes lab at Ohio State University, are either stillborn or die on average at approximately postnatal day 5 with approximately 40% loss of motor neurons, representing the severe type I SMA phenotype. As is seen in human patients, mice with higher copy numbers (more than eight) of the SMN2 transgene were phenotypically rescued, once again demonstrating that the SMA phenotype could be modified by the number of copies of SMN2 (Monani et al., 2000). A similar strategy was used to generate SMA mice in the Hung Li lab in Taiwan (Hsieh Li et al., 2000). In contrast to Burghes severe model, the Hung Li SMA mice showed a range of phenotypic severity within the same litter, from severe to moderate. Further studies indicated that this variation in phenotypic severity was likely due to hemi or homozygous transmission of the transgenic human SMN2 allele on the background of heterozygous deletion of the Smn1 endogenous allele, thereby producing mice expressing varying copy numbers of the transgene (Gogliotti et al., 2010). Building on the development of the Burghes severe model, mice expressing a SMN7 transgene in addition to full length SMN2 were also produced (Smn1 / ;SMN2tg/tg;SMN7tg/tg). Introduction of the SMN7 allele extended the life span of affected mice from approximately five days to approximately thirteen days (Le et al., 2005) and indicated that SMN produced from the SMN2 locus could be a valid therapeutic target. To date, the two most commonly used mouse models are the Smn1 / ;SMN2tg/tg;SMN7tg/tg (SMA7 mice) and the Smn1hung / ;SMN2Hungtg/tg (Hung Li SMA mice), which both have an average survival of approximately 13 days and recapitulate the clinical manifestations and neuropathology of intermediate type II SMA ... On the other end of the spectrum, apriori knowledge ,which is an understanding based on reasoning, is a more efficient way of explaining the method of doubt presented by Descartes. Method of Doubt Step One On the journey to find truth to base all thought upon, Descartes explains his first step in doing so. Never accept anything for true which I did not clearly know to be such; that is to say, carefully to avoid precipitancy and prejudice, and to comprise nothing more in my judgment than what was presented to my mind so clearly and distinctly as to exclude all ground of doubt. (Kolak, Pg.228). Assuming that everything you see is fictitious, Descartes believed he had no senses at all; body, shape, extension, motion, and place are unreal. (Weissman, Pg.23). Our senses have failed us all at one point or another in our lives, so why use the senses as a base for thought? The most famous quote and philosophy by Descartes in history ever, Je pense, donc je suis, cogito ergo sum (Durant, Pg.639). • 42. Political Corruption By Government Officials For... Throughout history, several sovereign nations across the world have been subject to political corruption by government officials for illegitimate personal gain. Corruption used to be a low profile line item. However, today it has reached heights at which the government must get involved to try and cover it up to ensure its secrecy and avoid exploitation. This instance is referred to as Crony Capitalism, which is a theory that has evolved from corruption over a period of time. This idea involves more intervention by the government who achieves its purpose by providing incentives and subsidies to their known business partners in specific operating fields. They favour this particular set of business owners who they keep close ties with over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They drift away from the rule of law which they themselves have established to maintain social control over their country. The government chooses to monopolize over businesses in pursuit of getting a larger share of money. However, most of the time these turn into sunken costs, which they then try to cover by raising tax rates. Countries that were regarded as miracles are nothing more than havens now, for crony capitalists to get rich the easy way (Kang, 3). An example of this is in Canada, where a big incentive in the form of tax credit is given to the Film Producing Industry. The government has been providing tax payers money and direct subsidies in an effort to induce film production in their province. Currently, film and television tax credits cover up to 35% of labour costs all over Canada, except for Quebec where it covers up to 45%. This does not include the additional tax credits that are provided to cover up the total production costs. In Alberta, the film and television industry demanded $18 million for a project worth $32 million of building a film studio in Calgary. The government has provided them with $10 million from property tax which means that the remaining $22 million will be obtained from taxpayers at their cost. The film industry in Alberta claims that this is beneficial since every buck that taxpayers contribute towards subsidies will result in a 10 fold return to the economy. This demonstrates how Crony ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Description Of The Electric Motors 1. Introduction The electric motors are widely used in model life. In task 3, it is required to design an escalator in this task. To reduce the energy consumption, the control system should be designed as working in two models, high speed or low speed when there is no people use the escalator. The specific requirements are listed as below: 1. Suitable sensors are chosen to detect the number of people in the escalator. 2. The escalator operates at a high speed mode when there is a person or more in the escalator. The control voltage is 2.5V with no load connected to the generator. 3. The escalator will change to low speed mode when the last person has left the escalator 5 seconds. The control voltage is 1V with no load connected to the generator. 4. Mode 1: the motor will accelerate from low speed mode to high speed model within 0.5 seconds. 5. Mode 2: the motor is able to accelerate with a zero steady state error with minimum achievable rise time. 6. As the passenger in the escalator are different, the system is able to work with no load and 5 Ω load. 2. Motor 2.1 Motor generator set The motor and generator are connected in coaxial mode, as figure 1 describes. Due to the specification (operating same in the situation of with and without load), the set point is used. That is because that when the load changes, the voltage between the motor will change. However, since the speed should be same in the condition of no load and 5 Ω load, the measured ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Analyse the Argument of the Existence of God from... i) Analyse the Argument for the Existence of God from Religious Experience (18) The argument for the existence of God from Religious Experience is a simple one, with only two premises. The first being that some people have, or have had a religious experience, the second premise is that these are only explicable though God, thus leading to the conclusion that God exists. This leads us to question, what exactly are religious experiences? Theologians have struggled for centuries trying to define what a religious experience is, with many believing a religious experience to be a sort of revelation, meaning that God reveals some part of hi nature to the experient. St Thomas Aquinas believed that to be his Revealed Theology , where truths ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Swinburne s third type is a strong feeling, a conviction that they were experiencing, even though there is no phenomena surrounding the experience. The penultimate type is witnessing a perfectly normal experience, such as the Grand Canyon, which creates a numinous experience. The final type of experience is in perceiving a very unusual public object, like a miracle, for instance, the resurrection. To help identify a religious experience, William James put forward four characteristics of a typical experience. The first being passivity: how in control the experient is; as whilst you undergo a religious experience, you take on an alternative personality outside of your own, surrendering your own control to God. The second quality is ineffability, where the experient can t quite put the occurrence into words. Another characteristic of a religious experience is the Noetic Quality of said experience. This quality is the knowledge that is gained in a religious experience, knowledge that cannot be gained in a conventional manner, and tells you something that you otherwise wouldn t know. The final quality is transciency, where the time the experience takes doesn t dictate the significance of the experience, as time is altered or distorted in some way, just as in a dream the dream may seem really long, whereas in reality it s only been a few minutes ... • 46. A Brief Note On Helicobacter Pylori HELICOBACTER PYLORI Helicobacter pylori have been implicated in cases of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer diseases( includes duodenal and gastric ulcers). Even though these diseases were linked to stress factors, in 1983, Australian microbiologists Warren and Marshall proved that gastritis and peptic ulcer diseases were infectious diseases caused by a bacterium (1). This bacterium has also been linked to gastric carcinoma and Mucosa associated lymphocyte (MALT) lymphoma (2) This organism was formerly classified under the genus Campylobacter because scientists found a campylobacter like bacterium in the gastric mucus of patients with chronic gastritis. It was thus formerly called Campylobacter pylori, however, further study of the organism at genetic level by analyzing a sequence of the 16s rRNA gene necessitated the formation of a new genus, hence the name Helicobacter pylori (3). Helicobacter pylori is a Gram negative spiral shaped microaerophilic rod (4). The term microaerophilic means that the organism requires small amounts of oxygen to survive. It is also a rapidly motile organism due to the multiple polar flagella (4). The bacterium is approximately 3µm long and 0.5µm in diameter. The organism has 4 7 polar sheathed flagella which helps it to move in the gastric mucus in the stomach (3). It is also a fastidious organism. This means that it requires special nutrients to grow. • 49. The Drug Of Red Blood Cells Erythropoietin is a hormone that is produced by the kidneys in response to a decrease in the oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells in circulation (2). From the kidneys, erythropoietin (EPO) enters the blood stream and enters the bone marrow where it stimulates an increase in the production of red blood cells (1, 2). This mechanism functions as a negative feedback loop since the signaling of an increase in the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood due to an increased number of red blood cells inhibits further production of EPO. The release of EPO is very sensitive to the level of oxygen carrying capacity in the blood. The simple occurrence of red blood cells death will trigger its release to ensure normal levels are maintained (1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An important aspect to producing synthesized EPO is the use of mammalian cells. EPO contains 40% carbohydrates which are important to the stability and biosynthesis of recombinant EPO (5). In 1984, EPO was able to be cloned and synthesized for use by using recombinant DNA technology (1, 3, 4, 5). The biological properties of synthesized EPO are very similar to the original hormone found naturally in the body (3). The importance of the mammalian cell carbohydrate composition allowed for the carbohydrate portions of recombinant EPO to be almost identical to the carbohydrate portions of native EPO (3). Success in creating synthetic EPO on a large scale that mimics native EPO in humans allowed for the implementation of synthesized EPO for medicinal purposes. Synthesized erythropoietin became the first hematopoietic growth factor to be used in clinical settings (1). The discovery of synthesized EPO has provided patients with renal failure and severe anemia the ability to reverse the effects of these disorders and improve the oxygen carrying capacity of their circulatory system (1, 5). Individuals with kidney damage or renal failure are in need of EPO the most. Since adults make EPO in their kidneys, any damage to the renal system will alter the ability to produce enough EPO to sufficiently restore red blood cell levels (1, 5). • 50. For an example, consider two alternative belief systems A... For an example, consider two alternative belief systems A and B consisting of beliefs A1, A2 and B1, B2 respectively. There are two beliefs in each system none of which can justify themselves alone. If A1 → A2 and A2 → A1, then there are 2 inferential connections in A and a high inferential density. Bonjour says this makes A likely. However, if only B1 → B2 and not vice versa, then there is only 1 non mutual inferential connection in B and thus a low inferential density. Bonjour suggests that lack of mutual justification makes the whole system of B unjustified since B1 must act foundationally. From this example, we can see that the coherence of a system is defined to be inversely related to the number of beliefs in the system and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ironically, even Bonjour s own account does not fully live up to this claim in the end. For clarity, this initial account of Coherentism will henceforth be referred to as Non foundational Coherentism. As is to be expected, the account of Non foundational Coherentism is not without its flaws. Firstly, coherence is still too broadly defined by Bonjour to be useful. To illustrate the issue, consider two new belief systems A and B. If A is more inferentially dense but B is less anomalous in content, how do you decide which belief system is more likely? Curiously, Bonjour is largely silent on this point despite its dramatic consequences. The effect of this observation might lead one to the same skeptical conclusion as McGrew s linear foundationalism. In fact, this account may be even more troubling; the total number of possible coherent belief systems increases exponentially with the number of possible explanatory beliefs since such belief systems actually inhabit the powerset of these explanatory beliefs. Secondly, assuming Bonjour s account of Coherentism, one might encounter a few corner cases where such an account will fail to provide reliable justification entirely. Consider the case presented by Olsson wherein two eyewitness accounts A1 and A2 describe an event E having occurred. In this example it is assumed that we do not know if E occurred or who is telling the truth. We first assume that neither account ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
