Diet And Paleo Diet
The term diet has many assumptions as to what it means or what it is or which kind is the best. The
term Diet is a balance of energy nutrients and adequate levels of vitamins, minerals, and water (Mader,
2016). There are so many different types of diets that are made popular by mainstream media such as
the Atkins Diet which is a low carbohydrate diet and the Paleo Diet which mimics a caveman
approach to eating, which means eating only meats and vegetables. Not all the diets that are being
advertised nowadays are perfect or with in nutritional range of what the human body was designed to
consume.
According to Health.gov, my caloric intake should be at least 3000 calories per day consisting of
meats, grains, vegetables, and fruits. My typical diet consists of high protein coming from meats and
whey protein supplements, low carbohydrates consisting of brown rice and quinoa and low saturated
fats which come from olive oil and the meats I eat. I eat around 5 to 6 servings of vegetables and 3 to
4 pieces of fruit every day. I consume approximately 1/2 a gram of protein per pound, which is about
190 pounds which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am well below the required 3000 calories but I do it on purpose because I m trying to get down to a
very low body fat percentage. Scientists have determined that high calorie diets increase the levels of
free radicals, thus accelerating cellular aging (Mader, 2016). This is one reason, I prefer to eat a low
calorie diet and I also do the occasional 24 hours fasting to detox and clean body. The fasting is not
meant for everyone but it works for me.
As I get older, I have noticed that carbohydrates are not my friend. I primarily eat meats and
vegetables and it seems to be doing the job. Although on a low calorie diet I m energetic and in good
spirits. Everyone is different and you have to investigate what works best for your

All day and all night, they battled the emergency with each instrument available to them to keep the

STYLES OF LEADERSHIP IN THE I.T. INDUSTRY
Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. Warren G. Bennis

ABSTRACT
Leadership is a complex process by which a person influences others to accomplish a mission, task, or
objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. Leadership,
as a process, shapes the goals of a group or organization, motivates behavior toward the achievement
of those goals, and helps define group or organizational culture. It is primarily a process of influence.

It is not so, Good leaders are made not born. If one has the desire and willpower, heshe can become
an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self study, education,
training, and experience.Leaders must be able to cope with complex technological change in their
organizations; general leadership skills are not sufficient in IT enriched environments. Specific
technology related knowledge is required and it must directly relate to the tools, medium, strategies
and competencies found within the culture. An IT leader must possess analytical and listening skills as
true listening involves insight into what will work today, tomorrow and in the future. The IT leader
must take the initiative to try new methods without fear of failure, an enormous task facing the IT
leader when deciding on solutions to technology related issues within his scope of influence. Attrition
rate is high in IT industry due to the work pressure wherein managers are not able to spend enough
time with their subordinates. In the fast paced IT work environment, there is very limited time and
mind share devoted by a manager to his team member s personal training and thereby, the manager is
not influencing the employee s perception of growth. The only key to solving this problem is to
improve the leadership abilities of IT managers, to learn how to manage differences in thinking of

THE ROLE OF AMERICAN SOLDIERS
The Role of American Soldiers during and after the Second Battle of Marne
In the beginning, World War I was considered to be The European War
During the beginning of the war, Americans had decided to remain neutral. Many Americans felt that
it was not the United States war to fight. Things quickly turned around when America s ability to trade
was compromised (Schultz, 2011). Another situation leading to the US joining the war was the sinking

The two main gases that used were Chlorine gas and mustard gas. These gases caused the enemy to
drown in their own bodily fluid once exposed. Using poisonous gases came with positives and
negatives. The major positive was is caused major problems to the enemy. One of the major negatives
was that some of the troops would be caught in gas that was meant for the enemy (Bull, 2002).
Trench mortars were used to have a safe place to be protected while attacking or resisting an attack
from the other side. Although it was not an actual weapon itself, it was essential in survival of many
troops on both sides.
Army tanks were first introduced during World War I (Bull, 2002). It was used to provide mobility and
protection. Many of the tanks were equipped with machine guns. The tanks were also used in order to
extract injured soldiers from the battle zone.
The living conditions of World War I was horrible for soldiers. There were many different things that
affected the troops. One of the major concerns was the rats that were in the trenches. There were
millions of rats located in the trenches with the soldiers (Duffy, 2009). The rats caused infection and
contaminated lots of the scarce food that the soldiers had (Duffy, 2009).

Essay on World War I
World War I
World War I involved more countries and caused greater destruction than any other war, except World
War II. An assassin s bullet set off the war, and a system of military agreements plunged the main
European powers into the fight. Each side expected a quick victory; but the war lasted four years and
took the lives of nearly ten million military troops. Military drafts raised larger armies than ever
before, and extreme patriotism gave men a cause they were willing to die for. Progaganda whipped up
support for the war by making the enemy seem villainous.

Germany won early victories in World War I on the main battlefields. The western front hardly moved
for three and a half years in spite of fierce combat. The fighting went back and forth until 1917 when a

The United States remained neutral at first, but many Americans turned against the

In 1918, the Central Powers surrendered. (World Book Encyclopedia)
World War I grew into the greatest war the world had ever seen. The amount of money spent was

African American Perspective in Early 20th Century America
Throughout the era after the Civil War, Blacks struggled to show themselves and create an identity
outside of the confines of slavery. There were many different ideas that display how Black should be
perceived and how Blacks should carry themselves in order to uplift the race. Uplifting the race was
one of the most influential ideas of the time. Miscegenation, sexuality, and education are just three of
the issues that were influenced by the racial attitudes of the times. Many authors commented on these
issues and the other issues of the time. Nella Larsen, Booker T. Washington, and Charles Chestnutt are
three authors that share their views with their readers. Miscegenation occurs when different racial
groups mix through marriage, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We make our customs lightly; once made, like our sins, they grip us in bands of steel, we become
creatures of our creations. By one standard the office boy should have never been born. Yet he is a son
of Adam and came into existence in the way ordained by God from the beginning of the world
(Chestnutt, 24). Chestnutt shows the judge in the same struggle that he leaves his reader feelings. The
customs of society say one thing; yet, true seems to be saying another. Chestnutt leaves his readers
with this dichotomy in his book. Chestnutt balances between Larsen and Washington s views. He
makes his reader think though the reasons why or why not miscegenation should or should not be
allowed. Sexuality was also an issue for Blacks in this time period. Most black women were classified
as either a respectable, almost asexual, lady or a whore. They were classified as a mammy or a jezebel.
There was a dichotomy between what women were allowed to be. Sexual desire needed to be separate
from respectability. And respectability was highly prized. Larsen s character Helga struggles greatly
with this dichotomy between sexual desire and respectability. She has been taught to be a respectable
woman in order to uplift the race and that black women should be perceived in a certain way. Larsen
writes of Helga and Dr. Anderson s conversation about Helga s upbringing. Dr. Anderson says,

Abigail Fisher Vs The University Of Texas At Austin Case...
Abigail Fisher vs. The University of Texas at Austin Response
Racial discrimination has been a prevalent issue in America since the beginning. After the Civil Rights
Movement in the 1950s and 1960s, American society has tried to correct its discriminatory behavior,
particularly in the field of education. But some believe this correction to ensure equality of
educational opportunity is infringing on the rights of, not minorities, but whites. The Supreme Court
Case, Abigail Fisher vs. University of Texas at Austin, tried to combat this issue regarding the
discrimination of whites in college admission. Edward Blum uploaded a video on to the internet
summarizing Abigail Fisher s side of the court case. The video entitled Abigail Fisher vs. University
of Texas at Austin lacks ethos, antagonizes the University of Texas for trying to enlarge their student
diversity, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The University of Texas at Austin video fails to accomplish its goal of portraying Fisher s side of the
lawsuit effectively. This is due to its lack of ethos, ignorance regarding the current economical stance
of non white races, and the right of the University of Texas to enhance their student diversity. Fisher is
blind to the fact that non whites have historically faced discrimination, and those historical events
have affected their societal place today. Her statement saying, A good start to ending discrimination
would be getting rid of the boxes on applications, is erasing both the history and the identity of people
of color (Blum). Joel Spring states, Today, the issue of classification is tied to the concept of equality
of educational opportunity (Spring 128). It is important to remember that history has affected modern
society, and we cannot simply erase the idea of race and call it equality. Fisher claiming that the
inclusion of different races in college admission being discriminatory against her is insensitive to

The Crucible And The Handmaids Tale Analysis
By exploring settings societies governed by political and social patriarchies, both Arthur Miller s the
Crucible and Margaret Atwood s The Handmaids Tale provide commentary on women s role in
society. Both texts are set against a backdrop in which women are seen as a second class and are
subject to male dominance. The similarities in the two texts lie within their separate discussions of
gender roles in society, but they differ on the intricacies of this. From a theocratic standpoint, the play
and the novel dissect the faults in an oppressive society, with Miller making it abundantly clear that it
can in fact be challenged instead of conformed to. Atwood also somewhat entertains this concept, but
both writers have different perceptions on identity and individuality in worlds that don t seem much
unlike our own. The consequences of a patriarchal, theocratic state based on the foundation of
Puritanism is first challenged by The Crucible, which evaluates its effect on the women in its society.
This specific form of religion seemed unhealthy to Miller, as in the search for the perfect people,
Puritans became obsessed with seeking out the damned and condemning them. Perfection was seen as
a responsibility to these people as they wanted to ensure the Devil could not harm them, and the
playwright attributes this paranoia as one of the main reasons behind the mass hysteria in Salem that
followed. The townspeople were constantly looking for evil in everything that went wrong, and

Y2K Preparedness
This year, most of the world is preparing to celebrate the year 2000 and the coming of a new
millennium. However, many businesses, manufacturers, banks and hospitals are quietly hoping for an
uneventful new year s transition. At midnight on December 31, many businesses will be anticipating
what effects the millennium rollover will have on computer software and other equipment that contain
a time sensitive chip called an embedded chip. Early computer programmers, in an effort to conserve
limited memory space, programmed computers to read the year in only two digits. So computers read
15 as 1915, and 02 as 1902, and so on. Thus, when the year 2000 arrives, many computer programs
might go from December 31, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some critical biomedical devices are pacemakers, fetal monitors, Magnetic Resonance Imaging
machines (MRI s), and heart defibrillators. One of the most important biomedical devices that could
be affected by the Y2K problem is the pacemaker. A pacemaker is a biomedical, electronic device
implanted in the wall of the heart designed to detect irregular heartbeats and provide regular, mild,
electric shocks that restore normalcy to the heartbeat. The pacemaker then records the time an electric
shock was administered; this information can then be downloaded to a computer system and analyzed
by medical personnel. Cardiologists use this information to detect patterns and irregularities in the
patient s heart rhythms. If the software were to record faulty times for the shock deliveries, the
cardiologist could misinterpret the results and administer improper medical care. The results could be
deadly for some patients. The Veteran s Administration interviewed the top five pacemaker
manufacturers to gauge their awareness of the potentially hazardous Y2K problem. One company said
the problem would be corrected by mid year; two companies stated the problem was already under
control; and the final two companies were behind schedule in eradicate the problem. In addition to the
pacemaker, there are several other biomedical devices that may contain faulty software. One such type
of device is an anesthesia monitor. An anesthesia

Second, God promises to make the faithful ride on the heights of the land.113 The precise meaning of
the heights of the land is highly ambiguous. Knight claims that these heights are where God places his
feet, so from there one in his turn will be able to view the world below lying in the hands of God (cf.

Greek Influence On Hollywood
The Paramount decision and the Hollywood black list forever altered the direction of American film
making standards. Before the Paramount decision, major Hollywood studios owned a monopoly on
the movie industry. They bought their own movie theaters and hawked only their movies and also
forced movie stars into highly restrictive contracts. The Hollywood blacklistk, on the other hand, was
a time in history when the American Government focused on Hollywood to make sure they weren t
pushing a communist agenda on the public. They scrutinized many actors and directors and black
listed them from working in Hollywood. These events made a large change in the way movies were
produced and made the people of Hollywood question their rights as movie makers. The Paramount
decision was a supreme court ruling in 1948 against the major film studios in Hollywood. The studios
were Loew s incorporated, Fox, RKO, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Brothers, also called The big 5
. The court ruled for the elimination of block booking and blind buying. Block booking meant that a

The Transformation of the International System due to the...
Rise of Networks and ICTs are transforming the International System
Introduction
Revolution in Information Technology has changed the entire meaning of International Social and
Economic System. This change became more prominent in the fourth quarter of twentieth century
when the core activities of circulation, consumption and production of markets, information,
technology, labor, capital and raw materials all started to be controlled globally. These activities are
now organized directly or by means of network connection between business and economic agents.
This system of new economy is more commonly known as globalization and when we talk about it,
the first thing that comes to mind is an instant exchange of information and trading by means of
networks. Information and communication technology has played a major role in globalizing the
world and transforming the international social and economic system.
Globalization has now created the business market networks in which the whole world participates to
raise the economy and thus profitability. In fact, it is now not possible to think of globalization without
understanding the concept of networks. In order to compete with the rest of the world, every nation or
business has to grow their network.
As noted in World Summit on IT, Information and Communication technology is acting like a catalyst
in making development to social and economic system of the world. ICT is expected and already

What Caused The Seven Years War
I. An Introduction to The Seven Years War Despite its transformation into what many historians
consider to be the first global war, the Anglo French Seven Years War had rather humble beginnings.
That is, the war did not erupt simultaneously in all areas due to some incredibly catalytic event that
sent the two great European powers into an inevitable conflict. Rather, Britain and France went to war
over the little things. In spite of both France s and England s desires to remain defensive, minor
skirmishes and maneuvers over disputed lands increased misperceptions of the other s intentions,
which when amplified by miscommunications both between and within parties led to the war we know
today. Ultimately, the Seven Years could have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of the prelude to The Seven Years War, colonies would deliberately deceive their home
state, who would then act out in fear of the worst. There was perhaps no more egregious occurrence of
intentional deceit to state than when Governor Shirley of Britain s Massachusetts colony falsely
declared that there was a French invasion near the Kennebec River in Maine (then part of
Massachusetts). In addition to the information being blatantly wrong, communication failures between
colonies and states created a five month gap between when Shirley rescinded his initial claims, by
stating them as an error. Governor Shirley s news of an invasion in Maine arrived in Britain
concurrently with Governor Dinwiddie s news of an invasion in the Ohio Valley, making it seem in
Britain that the French had initiated all out war. Similar communication failures occurred on the
French side, when Duquesne falsely reported British positions, leading the French to take hysteric
defensive action. Without an officially embedded government in their colonies there was no method
for the French and British to discern the truth, and the powers were stuck in a survival dilemma, which
in this case led each to lash out against the other in fear that their presence in their colonies was about
to be eliminated. It is animal instinct to fight

Many People Surmise That Products In Advertisements Do
Many people surmise that products in advertisements do what they promise to. The same people will
believe any claim to be true when the face of a authoritative figure like Kim Kardashian is included in
the advertisement. When the topic of fitness and health, self esteem, or self confidence is brought into
play, potential customers will readily buy into the probability that one product can positively and
effectively change their lives (without any knowledge that they are being manipulated by fallacies).

order for these claims to appear true and reliable, Skechers uses Kim Kardashian, to advertise the

anyone viewing the advertisement that if she wears them and she is in good shape, then that will

Skechers claim to strengthen muscle is entirely false. Shape Ups do not tone or strengthen your lower

The Evolution And Importance Of Sound
The Evolution and Importance of Sound in Media Sound has accompanied performances and visual
entertainment all throughout history, and more recently, with interactive media in video games. Sound
is an integral part of the user experience and helps solidify immersion and realism. With the rapid
increase of visual fidelity in film/television, and the rapid growth of graphical power in video games
and animation, sound plays a more important role than ever. In these visual and interactive medias, the
image you see is considered the most important factor. However, both factors of audio and image must
form a seamless bond to provide a well synced, uninterrupted experience. Sound quality is often
overlooked in both production and reception and should be held in the same regard as
cinematography, interactive gameplay, and other creative content. Music has always been, until now,
experienced live. (Katz 11) The time before recorded sound is almost impossible to imagine. The
world is at a time in which imagined and virtual worlds are part of everyone s daily lives. Over the last
century, and beyond, there has been an exponential rise in technological advances that are causing an
increased simplicity of creating and distributing creative and technical multimedia works. To get to
this point, basic technologies and inventions from the world s greatest and creative minds had to

The Different Affects of Drug Abuse Among Genders
As seen in Long Days Journey into Night by Eugene O Neill, drug abuse affects women and men
differently. Mary Tyrone seems to be affected mentally by her morphine addiction, whereas the men,
Tyrone, Jamie, Edmund, in the household appear to be affected physically by their alcohol addiction.
Cynthia Robbins s Sex Differences in Psychosocial Consequences of Alcohol and Drug Abuse
supports the different effects of drug abuse among men and women. She examines three different
hypotheses concerning gender differences in the impact of alcohol and drug abuse. She claims that the
generalized view of women being more vulnerable lies on physical vulnerability, social control and
labeling, and internalized sex role norms. In addition, she offers a style of deviance perspective, which
suggests that women are more vulnerable to adverse intrapsychic consequences of substance abuse,
but that men are more vulnerable to certain behavioral and interpersonal consequences. Gerardine
Meaney s article also focuses on the generalized view of women and men, specifically of Mary and
Tyrone in the play.
Drug abuse and alcohol abuse are expected to have worse consequences for women than for men
based on biological differences and societal role expectations for men and women. The biological
argument is that women metabolize alcohol at a different rate because of their lower ratio of water to
body weight. Social role expectations exist because of the strong social disapproval of intoxication

Greek Art And Greek Architecture
Greece No matter where you are, chances are you have witness an inspiring piece of Greece art and
Greece architecture. Whether it s a building, furniture, or pottery, you have seen ideas that started from
Greek. Even houses have resemblance to some of the most famous buildings we seen throughout
history. The architecture of ancient Greece is defined by the temples built to glorify their gods and
goddesses and express pride in their cities. Though in today s world we may not glorify gods and
goddesses when we began to design a home, but we do know how to turn once traditional into a more
contemporary feel. Modern Greek architecture is generally constructed with wood, unbaked bricks,
limestone and marble, and terracotta and metals. Contractors today still use the methods, and of all the
architectural designs used by ancient Greeks throughout history, three major systems have withstood
the test of time and are still used today. Doric, Ionic and Corinthian styles have their own
characteristics, but, however they can look very similar.
The Doric (sturdiest) was based on the proportions of a man. It was the first order and arguably the
most famous Greek system used in today s world. It seemed to have known base and has the simplest
capital atop the fluted shaft. The Parthenon communicated the ideals of the order and harmony for
what Greek architecture is known for.
As for the Ionic it was lighter in character to reflect the portions of women. Unlike the Doric

arranged in a grid on one standard size page. While this layout of comics is perfectly fine and has been
for decades, it doesn t take full advantage of the web format. Coded webpages present a nearly endless
number of ways to manipulate the images, allowing artists to tell their stories in new and exciting
ways, and yet most people stick to the same format that s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That process is more than exemplified in his making of his most successful comic, Homestuck. At
over 8000 pages long, with over 800,000 words of narration and dialogue, Homestuck is the longest
web comic in existence, and according to Hussie was started with little more planning than the thought
it s a story about kids in houses . Along with this, Homestuck is a story that goes beyond the
traditional comic format, becoming a truly multi media experience spanning the entire internet and
beyond, influenced by the massive community that became involved with it over its 7 year span.
Besides just still images, Hussie s comic is filled with colorful animations in many of its panels, along
with videos and interactive games accompanied by a wide array of music. In fact, over 26 albums total
were produced by Hussie s web store turned record label for the comic. This is something that, while
other artists had likely attempted it in some way, no other comic had had such a large success with,
and in turn had such a wide influence on the web comic community. Beyond just the images on the
page, Hussie also manipulates webpages themselves, going as far as to completely change the color
and format of the page to manipulate the narrative mechanic and add to the story, as shown in the

Air And Air Pollution
Air and air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. Air and air pollution can cause
from car emission, chemical, dust, air planes, and pollen. What cause the air to be bad pollution is
factories machines and energy that everyone is using. Air can be fresh and bad air depend on the work
that we do. The solution that cause and effect the air to be bad is that the gases of the car, planes,
chemical gases, and factories makes the air to be bad because the person that is doing it might did
something wrong. Some air can different and smell different. It could be poison or cause
human to breathe hard. Air pollution can be bad when the air is not right and it changes. The gases of
the air can harmful animals, human, and plant. It could kill us if you have hard time to breathe and
smell. It could increase and decrease the gases anytime. Factories air problem is that the air can cause
an effect to the fresh air to be bad, like dust, gases, and smoke. It could be very different about air and

Examples Of Conflict In The Chrysalids
One can encounter several physical and emotional difficulties in the journey to protect their identity.
Similarly, in The Chrysalids by John Wyndham, as a result of wanting to preserve identity, in the form
of risks, major sacrifices surface between characters. These sacrifices tend to result in breaking moral
laws, letting go of family ties and death. The motives of the sacrifices come from the society of
Waknuk. People in this society learn not to accept individuals with physical deformations since they
are sent by the Devil. Due to fear, most people abide by the laws but, are quick to bend them in order
to preserve their sense of self. Therefore, the novel The Chrysalids, develops the idea through conflict
and irony, that people are willing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, over the course of many years, Mrs. Wender keeps Sophie hidden to protect her secret.
Any individual with a physical deformation in Waknuk is considered an outlaw, and to prevent losing
her child; Mrs. Wender does not let Sophie out in public. The importance of protecting Sophie is seen
when Mrs. Wender says, It s very, very important, she insisted. How can I explain to you? But she
didn t really need to explain. Her urgent tight strung feeling of the importance was very plain. Her
words were far less potent. She said: If anyone were to find out, they d they d be terribly unkind to her
(Wyndham 12). Mrs. Wender disobeys the moral laws of Waknuk to protect her daughter, which is
different from what most individuals in her society would do in this situation. This introduces
situational irony because unlike others in Waknuk, Mrs. Wender first cares for her family and that is
highly unexpected. She took a great risk to keep her daughter unknown for several years because she
has six toes which is a physical deformation. If Waknuk authorities realize Mrs. Wender s daughter is
a mutant she could be punished and tortured for not only connecting with a mutant but disobeying the
society s laws. Coincidentally, in the process of protecting Sophie, Mrs. Wender preserves her sense of
self because she wants to keep those who fit her definition of the true

Baseball Of The Baseball Rule
INTRODUCTION
Baseball ballpark owners owe a duty of care to spectators who attend games their stadiums.
Historically, there has been a devotion to the baseball rule , which is essentially a tool of public policy
used to protect stadium owners. However, there is very little consensus on what exactly the rule entails
and how it is applied across all jurisdictions. While this rule is justified based on a limited amount of
data, Gallatin legislature should either reshape it to better reflect modern tort doctrine or continue
operating on a case by case basis, taking all facts and situation based evidence into account.
BASEBALL RULE
The Baseball Rule has been widely adopted by courts in jurisdiction considering the legal duty of
landowners owed to spectators at baseball games. The Baseball Rule has two main components: the
owner must screen the most dangerous section of the field (typically the area behind the Homeplate)
and the screening provided must be adequate to provide covering for as many spectators who desire
protected seats. Spectators that willingly choose to watch the game in unscreened areas assume the
open and obvious risk of being struck by a ball. With the Baseball Rule clearly limiting the landowner
s legal duty, ballpark owners avoid potential lawsuits for every ball that strikes a spectator.
Without the Baseball Rule, under general principles of landowner liability for negligence, spectator
injuries are considered on a case by case basis upon criteria

Comparing The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Pride
The Epic of Gilgamesh was translated by Andrew George and the Iliad was written by Homer. These
are both heroic epics that show some similarities in their stories. The Epic of Gilgamesh came to us in
a fragmentary form and was written in some form we no longer have. It possibly influenced the Iliad
because the Iliad showed some modification of the epic and was written later than Gilgamesh. Both
stories show some similarities in theme, such as pride, morality, friendship, love, fate, and free will. In
both the books, pride seems like a big topic. Comparing the pride in the character Gilgamesh in the,
The Epic of Gilgamesh, and Achilles in the Iliad shows that the mistakes both make is that they can
not let go of their pride. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This further insults Achilles pride by showing that he cannot even protect the woman he loves.
In tablet III, The Preparation for the Expedition to the Forest of Cedar, Gilgamesh and Enkidu were
scared to go on this journey and because of the pride they could go back home, and they had to
succeed. In the end of tablet II, Gilgamesh heard the words of the senior advisers, he looked with a
[laugh at] Enkidu...: [ Now, my friend, how frightened I am!] [In fear of him shall I change my mind]
(22). The elders warned Gilgamesh and Enkidu that they should not go into the forest because this is
not an accomplishable journey. Even the goddess Ninsun, Gilgamesh s mother, warns them not to go,
but they still went. In tablet IV, The Journey of the Cedar Forest, Gilgamesh got scared and had
multiple dreams. When he woke up, Gilgamesh said, [The dream that I had [was an utter confusion:]
in [a] mountain valley... [The mountain fell down on top of..., [then] we like... (30). The readers do not
know the full dream because it was written in fragments, but we can understand Gilgamesh s fear.
During the journey, Gilgamesh has five dreams and every time Gilgamesh tells a dream to Enkidu,
Enkidu interprets the dream in a positive way. He deciphers the dream that the gods wants Gilgamesh
to go and kill the protector of the cedar forest, Humbaba, even though both of them are scared to kill
him. Both travelers had five changes to go back home and give up on their

Safe Water with Adequate Sanitation
1 Introduction
Accessing safe water with adequate sanitation has been a crucial problem for billions of people around
the world (1). Most of them are in the developing countries and this problem seems to increase in the
following years (2). One of the renewable sources of freshwater which has sufficient sanitation is
rainfall. Globally precipitation generates supply of 40000 to 45000 km3 per year (3). However, there
is not a uniform rainfall for different areas of the world. Developed countries are mostly located in the
temperate or tepid latitudes, hence they have more precipitation. On the other hand, developing
countries have mostly arid and semi arid climates which they lack in the sufficient rainfall. Imbalance
between water needs and its resources has been a crucial issue for these countries. It has been
expected that by the year 2025, 34 countries most of them developing nations will experience water
scarcity (2) (3). This situation is more critical in the North Africa and in the Middle East (4).
In addition to the scarcity of fresh water which is a major concern, nowadays for both developed and
developing countries, the quality of water has been deteriorated due to the pollution, particularly in the
developing nations. The major causes of the contaminated water resources are the inadequate
wastewater treatment, non optimized landfill construction, leaking from sewage systems, and
unauthorized agricultural, municipal and industrial wastewater discharge into aquatic

The Truth Of The Bible
Question 9 I believe the time isn t relevant as far as wear I will spend eternity, four there s two ways of
that can happen. First of all, nobody is immune to die at any point in time for went is your time to go
you have no control over it. Second of all, Jesus can come anytime. Therefore, if either of these events
happens, eternity awaits. Are used to think that the younger you are the least you need to worry about
these two events happening. On the contrary, the acknowledgment that Jesus is the only way and the
one hole redeemed us is now, not later, not when you feel like it, the time is now.
Question 10 I believe that the main source of truth is the Bible. On the other hand, God is an infinite
God, and if he chooses any other means for you to find truth, you will find it, weather if it is through
dreams or through other Scriptures. However, God can choose to reveal himself outside of
Christianity. I have heard that throughout the Muslim faith several have come to know Jesus through
their own scripture, the Quran. In addition, others have begun to believe in Jesus through dreams.
Perhaps, God can choose any means to reveal himself. I do not know why there are so many different
religions; perhaps, this is what makes us different from each other. Not everybody thinks the same
way. I also believe that there is an accuser who hates humankind and doesn t want humanity to see
clear, that the more confused we are the better it is. Epistemology is the hypothesis of

Information Driven Technique For Extortion
Misrepresentation, waste, and manhandle in the social insurance framework are evaluated at $700
billion yearly. Prescient investigation offers government and private payers the chance to recognize
and avoid or recoup such billings. This paper proposes an information driven technique for extortion
location taking into account similar examination, misrepresentat ion cases, and writing survey.
Unsupervised information mining procedures for example, anomaly discovery are recommended as
compelling indicators for extortion. In view of a multi dimensional information model produced for
Medicaid claim information, particular measurements for dental suppliers were created and assessed
in investigative examinations utilizing exception identification connected to claim, supplier, and
patient information in a state Medicaid program. The proposed strategy empowered effective
recognizable proof of fake action, with 12 of the main 17 suspicious suppliers (71%) alluded to
authorities for examination with obviously strange and unseemly action. Future examination is in
progress to extend the strategy to different strengths and empower its utilization by extortion experts.

Abstract This paper proposes direct torque control of induction motor simulation using conventional
method and space vector pulse width modulation technique for ripple reduction. Direct Torque Control
is a control technique used in AC drive systems to obtain high performance torque control and thereby
controlling the speed of induction motor. The principle is based on simultaneous decoupling of stator
flux and electromagnetic torque of AC drive system. DTC drives use hysteresis comparators and they
suffer from high torque ripple and variable switching frequency problem. The proposed SVM based
DTC reduces torque ripples. The basis of the SVM DTC methodology is the calculation of the
required voltage space vector to compensate the flux and torque errors and its generation using the
SVM at each sample period. The performance of this method is demonstrated by simulation using
MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results presented in this paper show the torque, flux linkage
and stator current ripple decreases with the proposed SVM DTC algorithm. Keywords: Direct Torque

The Current Osha Recordkeeping Regulation 29 Cfr 1904
Under the current OSHA recordkeeping regulation 29 CFR 1904, employers are required to maintain
an accurate record of workplace injuries and illnesses. Information contained in these records is
important in helping OSHA identify workplace hazards and implementing protections to reduce risks
within the workplace.1 Recording and reporting a work related injury does not mean that the employer
or employee was at fault or that an OSHA rule has been violated.2 It is simply meant to inform
OSHA, employers, and employees of potential hazards. Exceptions to this rule include employers with
fewer than 10 full time employees and some low risk industries such as retail, finance, insurance or
real estate.1 However, all employers must report incidents leading to a fatality or the hospitalization of
three or more employees.3 A proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904.41 to add three new electronic
reporting methods. The comment period for this proposed rule expired on October 14, 2014 and is
now in the final stages of the rule making process. This proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904 in the
following ways: first, employers with over 250 employees in the previous calendar year will be
required to submit electronic records every quarter. Second, employers with over 20 employees in the
last calendar year will be required to electronically submit their reports annually. Lastly, all employers
that keep injury and illness records are required to submit these records electronically.4 Much of this

The restaurant commits itself to franchisees and stakeholders in helping to achieve superior financial
results and sustainable performance and development opportunities. Thus, the corporate mission and
its core values are instrumental to the company s success. Industry Analysis The industry is made up
of full service restaurants, which provide take out and entertainment services along with food services
(Southward, 2013). The food service industry is extremely competitive, in which BWW is constantly
increasing and improving its brand image, recognition and loyalty. The actual major industry concerns
are rising food and labor costs. Rising costs have forced restaurant chains to increase prices for meals.
In the recent years, BWW restaurants are affected by the economic downfall (Southward, 2013).
People began eating out less as a whole and restaurants have had to use new techniques and solutions
to draw more guests. BWW is undertaking various steps to fight the economic crisis. For instance,
twice a week they have specials on two types of chicken wings: traditional and boneless ones at fifty
percent off. This tool has been an effective in attracting more guests. The company is also utilizing
such measures as distribution of coupons with $5 discount or a coupon for 6 free wings in BWW
(Buffalo Wild Wings Marketing Plan, n.d.). Additionally, to entertain their guests and make their visit

  • 2. Diet And Paleo Diet The term diet has many assumptions as to what it means or what it is or which kind is the best. The term Diet is a balance of energy nutrients and adequate levels of vitamins, minerals, and water (Mader, 2016). There are so many different types of diets that are made popular by mainstream media such as the Atkins Diet which is a low carbohydrate diet and the Paleo Diet which mimics a caveman approach to eating, which means eating only meats and vegetables. Not all the diets that are being advertised nowadays are perfect or with in nutritional range of what the human body was designed to consume. According to Health.gov, my caloric intake should be at least 3000 calories per day consisting of meats, grains, vegetables, and fruits. My typical diet consists of high protein coming from meats and whey protein supplements, low carbohydrates consisting of brown rice and quinoa and low saturated fats which come from olive oil and the meats I eat. I eat around 5 to 6 servings of vegetables and 3 to 4 pieces of fruit every day. I consume approximately 1/2 a gram of protein per pound, which is about 190 pounds which ... This is one reason, I prefer to eat a low calorie diet and I also do the occasional 24 hours fasting to detox and clean body. The fasting is not meant for everyone but it works for me. As I get older, I have noticed that carbohydrates are not my friend. I primarily eat meats and vegetables and it seems to be doing the job. • 8. African American Perspective in Early 20th Century America Throughout the era after the Civil War, Blacks struggled to show themselves and create an identity outside of the confines of slavery. There were many different ideas that display how Black should be perceived and how Blacks should carry themselves in order to uplift the race. Uplifting the race was one of the most influential ideas of the time. Miscegenation, sexuality, and education are just three of the issues that were influenced by the racial attitudes of the times. Many authors commented on these issues and the other issues of the time. Nella Larsen, Booker T. Washington, and Charles Chestnutt are three authors that share their views with their readers. We make our customs lightly; once made, like our sins, they grip us in bands of steel, we become creatures of our creations. By one standard the office boy should have never been born. Yet he is a son of Adam and came into existence in the way ordained by God from the beginning of the world (Chestnutt, 24). Chestnutt shows the judge in the same struggle that he leaves his reader feelings. The customs of society say one thing; yet, true seems to be saying another. Chestnutt leaves his readers with this dichotomy in his book. Chestnutt balances between Larsen and Washington s views. He makes his reader think though the reasons why or why not miscegenation should or should not be allowed. Sexuality was also an issue for Blacks in this time period. Most black women were classified as either a respectable, almost asexual, lady or a whore. They were classified as a mammy or a jezebel. There was a dichotomy between what women were allowed to be. Sexual desire needed to be separate from respectability. And respectability was highly prized. Larsen s character Helga struggles greatly with this dichotomy between sexual desire and respectability. • 9. Abigail Fisher Vs The University Of Texas At Austin Case... Abigail Fisher vs. The University of Texas at Austin Response Racial discrimination has been a prevalent issue in America since the beginning. After the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s, American society has tried to correct its discriminatory behavior, particularly in the field of education. But some believe this correction to ensure equality of educational opportunity is infringing on the rights of, not minorities, but whites. The Supreme Court Case, Abigail Fisher vs. University of Texas at Austin, tried to combat this issue regarding the discrimination of whites in college admission. Edward Blum uploaded a video on to the internet summarizing Abigail Fisher s side of the court case. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The University of Texas at Austin video fails to accomplish its goal of portraying Fisher s side of the lawsuit effectively. This is due to its lack of ethos, ignorance regarding the current economical stance of non white races, and the right of the University of Texas to enhance their student diversity. Fisher is blind to the fact that non whites have historically faced discrimination, and those historical events have affected their societal place today. Her statement saying, A good start to ending discrimination would be getting rid of the boxes on applications, is erasing both the history and the identity of people of color (Blum). Joel Spring states, Today, the issue of classification is tied to the concept of equality of educational opportunity (Spring 128). • 10. The Crucible And The Handmaids Tale Analysis By exploring settings societies governed by political and social patriarchies, both Arthur Miller s the Crucible and Margaret Atwood s The Handmaids Tale provide commentary on women s role in society. Both texts are set against a backdrop in which women are seen as a second class and are subject to male dominance. The similarities in the two texts lie within their separate discussions of gender roles in society, but they differ on the intricacies of this. From a theocratic standpoint, the play and the novel dissect the faults in an oppressive society, with Miller making it abundantly clear that it can in fact be challenged instead of conformed to. Atwood also somewhat entertains this concept, but both writers have different perceptions on identity and individuality in worlds that don t seem much unlike our own. The consequences of a patriarchal, theocratic state based on the foundation of Puritanism is first challenged by The Crucible, which evaluates its effect on the women in its society. This specific form of religion seemed unhealthy to Miller, as in the search for the perfect people, Puritans became obsessed with seeking out the damned and condemning them. Perfection was seen as a responsibility to these people as they wanted to ensure the Devil could not harm them, and the playwright attributes this paranoia as one of the main reasons behind the mass hysteria in Salem that followed. However, many businesses, manufacturers, banks and hospitals are quietly hoping for an uneventful new year s transition. At midnight on December 31, many businesses will be anticipating what effects the millennium rollover will have on computer software and other equipment that contain a time sensitive chip called an embedded chip. Early computer programmers, in an effort to conserve limited memory space, programmed computers to read the year in only two digits. So computers read 15 as 1915, and 02 as 1902, and so on. Some critical biomedical devices are pacemakers, fetal monitors, Magnetic Resonance Imaging machines (MRI s), and heart defibrillators. One of the most important biomedical devices that could be affected by the Y2K problem is the pacemaker. The pacemaker then records the time an electric shock was administered; this information can then be downloaded to a computer system and analyzed by medical personnel. Cardiologists use this information to detect patterns and irregularities in the patient s heart rhythms. If the software were to record faulty times for the shock deliveries, the cardiologist could misinterpret the results and administer improper medical care. The results could be deadly for some patients. The Veteran s Administration interviewed the top five pacemaker manufacturers to gauge their awareness of the potentially hazardous Y2K problem. Second, God promises to make the faithful ride on the heights of the land.113 The precise meaning of the heights of the land is highly ambiguous. Knight claims that these heights are where God places his feet, so from there one in his turn will be able to view the world below lying in the hands of God (cf. Matt 4:8). 114 On the contrary, Achtemeier argues that in sheer exultation, they will be exalted and will rejoice in the abundant and secure life Yahweh gives: such is the meaning of v 14b (cf. Deut 32:13; 33:29; Isa 33:16; Am 4:13; Mic 1:3; Hab 3:18 19). 115 The latter view seems to be more persuasive because of its similar expression in Deut 32:13 and the LXX rendering ta. avgaqa. th/ j gh/ j (the good places of the land).116 112Ibid. 113There is a shift of the verbal conjugation from gN:[;t.Ti (hithael second per. masc. sing.) in v. 14a to ^yTiÞb.K;r hi (hiphil first per. masc. sing.) in v. 14b. Before the Paramount decision, major Hollywood studios owned a monopoly on the movie industry. They bought their own movie theaters and hawked only their movies and also forced movie stars into highly restrictive contracts. The Hollywood blacklistk, on the other hand, was a time in history when the American Government focused on Hollywood to make sure they weren t pushing a communist agenda on the public. They scrutinized many actors and directors and black listed them from working in Hollywood. These events made a large change in the way movies were produced and made the people of Hollywood question their rights as movie makers. The Paramount decision was a supreme court ruling in 1948 against the major film studios in Hollywood. The studios were Loew s incorporated, Fox, RKO, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Brothers, also called The big 5 . The court ruled for the elimination of block booking and blind buying. Rise of Networks and ICTs are transforming the International System Introduction Revolution in Information Technology has changed the entire meaning of International Social and Economic System. This change became more prominent in the fourth quarter of twentieth century when the core activities of circulation, consumption and production of markets, information, technology, labor, capital and raw materials all started to be controlled globally. These activities are now organized directly or by means of network connection between business and economic agents. This system of new economy is more commonly known as globalization and when we talk about it, the first thing that comes to mind is an instant exchange of information and trading by means of networks. Information and communication technology has played a major role in globalizing the world and transforming the international social and economic system. Globalization has now created the business market networks in which the whole world participates to raise the economy and thus profitability. In fact, it is now not possible to think of globalization without understanding the concept of networks. In order to compete with the rest of the world, every nation or business has to grow their network. As noted in World Summit on IT, Information and Communication technology is acting like a catalyst in making development to social and economic system of the world. An Introduction to The Seven Years War Despite its transformation into what many historians consider to be the first global war, the Anglo French Seven Years War had rather humble beginnings. That is, the war did not erupt simultaneously in all areas due to some incredibly catalytic event that sent the two great European powers into an inevitable conflict. Rather, Britain and France went to war over the little things. In spite of both France s and England s desires to remain defensive, minor skirmishes and maneuvers over disputed lands increased misperceptions of the other s intentions, which when amplified by miscommunications both between and within parties led to the war we know today. In the case of the prelude to The Seven Years War, colonies would deliberately deceive their home state, who would then act out in fear of the worst. There was perhaps no more egregious occurrence of intentional deceit to state than when Governor Shirley of Britain s Massachusetts colony falsely declared that there was a French invasion near the Kennebec River in Maine (then part of Massachusetts). In addition to the information being blatantly wrong, communication failures between colonies and states created a five month gap between when Shirley rescinded his initial claims, by stating them as an error. Governor Shirley s news of an invasion in Maine arrived in Britain concurrently with Governor Dinwiddie s news of an invasion in the Ohio Valley, making it seem in Britain that the French had initiated all out war. Similar communication failures occurred on the French side, when Duquesne falsely reported British positions, leading the French to take hysteric defensive action. Without an officially embedded government in their colonies there was no method for the French and British to discern the truth, and the powers were stuck in a survival dilemma, which in this case led each to lash out against the other in fear that their presence in their colonies was about to be eliminated. The Evolution And Importance Of Sound The Evolution and Importance of Sound in Media Sound has accompanied performances and visual entertainment all throughout history, and more recently, with interactive media in video games. Sound is an integral part of the user experience and helps solidify immersion and realism. With the rapid increase of visual fidelity in film/television, and the rapid growth of graphical power in video games and animation, sound plays a more important role than ever. In these visual and interactive medias, the image you see is considered the most important factor. However, both factors of audio and image must form a seamless bond to provide a well synced, uninterrupted experience. Sound quality is often overlooked in both production and reception and should be held in the same regard as cinematography, interactive gameplay, and other creative content. Mary Tyrone seems to be affected mentally by her morphine addiction, whereas the men, Tyrone, Jamie, Edmund, in the household appear to be affected physically by their alcohol addiction. Cynthia Robbins s Sex Differences in Psychosocial Consequences of Alcohol and Drug Abuse supports the different effects of drug abuse among men and women. She examines three different hypotheses concerning gender differences in the impact of alcohol and drug abuse. She claims that the generalized view of women being more vulnerable lies on physical vulnerability, social control and labeling, and internalized sex role norms. In addition, she offers a style of deviance perspective, which suggests that women are more vulnerable to adverse intrapsychic consequences of substance abuse, but that men are more vulnerable to certain behavioral and interpersonal consequences. Gerardine Meaney s article also focuses on the generalized view of women and men, specifically of Mary and Tyrone in the play. Drug abuse and alcohol abuse are expected to have worse consequences for women than for men based on biological differences and societal role expectations for men and women. The architecture of ancient Greece is defined by the temples built to glorify their gods and goddesses and express pride in their cities. Historically, there has been a devotion to the baseball rule , which is essentially a tool of public policy used to protect stadium owners. However, there is very little consensus on what exactly the rule entails and how it is applied across all jurisdictions. While this rule is justified based on a limited amount of data, Gallatin legislature should either reshape it to better reflect modern tort doctrine or continue operating on a case by case basis, taking all facts and situation based evidence into account. BASEBALL RULE The Baseball Rule has been widely adopted by courts in jurisdiction considering the legal duty of landowners owed to spectators at baseball games. The Baseball Rule has two main components: the owner must screen the most dangerous section of the field (typically the area behind the Homeplate) and the screening provided must be adequate to provide covering for as many spectators who desire protected seats. Spectators that willingly choose to watch the game in unscreened areas assume the open and obvious risk of being struck by a ball. With the Baseball Rule clearly limiting the landowner s legal duty, ballpark owners avoid potential lawsuits for every ball that strikes a spectator. Most of them are in the developing countries and this problem seems to increase in the following years (2). One of the renewable sources of freshwater which has sufficient sanitation is rainfall. Globally precipitation generates supply of 40000 to 45000 km3 per year (3). However, there is not a uniform rainfall for different areas of the world. Developed countries are mostly located in the temperate or tepid latitudes, hence they have more precipitation. On the other hand, developing countries have mostly arid and semi arid climates which they lack in the sufficient rainfall. Imbalance between water needs and its resources has been a crucial issue for these countries. It has been expected that by the year 2025, 34 countries most of them developing nations will experience water scarcity (2) (3). This situation is more critical in the North Africa and in the Middle East (4). In addition to the scarcity of fresh water which is a major concern, nowadays for both developed and developing countries, the quality of water has been deteriorated due to the pollution, particularly in the developing nations. Chatterji Professor Head Electrical Engineering NITTTR Chandigarh, India Abstract This paper proposes direct torque control of induction motor simulation using conventional method and space vector pulse width modulation technique for ripple reduction. Direct Torque Control is a control technique used in AC drive systems to obtain high performance torque control and thereby controlling the speed of induction motor. The principle is based on simultaneous decoupling of stator flux and electromagnetic torque of AC drive system. DTC drives use hysteresis comparators and they suffer from high torque ripple and variable switching frequency problem. The proposed SVM based DTC reduces torque ripples. The basis of the SVM DTC methodology is the calculation of the required voltage space vector to compensate the flux and torque errors and its generation using the SVM at each sample period. The performance of this method is demonstrated by simulation using MATLAB/Simulink software.
