Litigation vs. Common Sense and Compassion
This essay will focus on the motivation in the phrase Common sense and compassion in the workplace
has been replaced by litigation. As a business relationship emerges between an employer and
employee negotiations, agreements, rules, and guidelines are formed. Normally these arrangements
and duties are established through the human resources (HR) department along with expectations that
an individual will perform their job with acceptable common sense and compassion if necessary.
However, it currently appears that common sense or compassion has been exchanged for lawsuits
within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The legal process within the human resources department tries to format strategies and alliances that
avoid negative activities affecting the employers and employees; however, exhibitions using common
sense or compassion can conflict with these guidelines creating inappropriate behaviors. If this
becomes the case, disciplinary actions begin bringing about other matters of legal issues.
Nevertheless, once an individual believes they have been illegally mistreated, they become more apt
to submit a lawsuit for purposes of revenge, financial struggles, or inapt employment securities
(Alboher, 2012).
The Safety Process versus Common Sense and Compassion The human resources process has to
accompany both the employee and employer in regard to safety issues. An employee wants the
assurance of safe and healthy working conditions; anything less exposes danger to their own
wellbeing. In addition employees must take heed to precautions design by the organization. However
an employer wants to avoid expenditures in overhead by cutting cost or corners often putting their
employees at harmful risk. In addition, organizations also have a lawful obligation in which they have
to provide a safe workplace by preventing accidents, hazards, serious injuries or accident related
deaths. Negligence on either behalf can result in determination, fines, citations, work related

Pros And Cons Of Shale Gas
Shale gas is an unconventional emerging energy source that since 2008 has had an increase in both
conventional and unconventional well inspections which have led to a decrease in violations (Phillips,
2016). In 2015, inspectors issued 404 violations whereas in 2010 inspectors issued 1,280 violations
(Phillips, 2016)! In addition, for the year 2015, the Department of Environmental Investigation
reported no findings of wrongdoing of water contamination through methane migration by the gas
industry. Moreover, the Department of Environmental Protection is the responsible party for reviewing
and issuing drilling permits, respondents to water quality problems, and the inspection of drilling

Environmental Protection is regulating the exploration, development, and recovery of Marcellus Shale
natural gas reservoirs in a way that will protect the environment and the commonwealth national

compliance, the additional assistance helps to prevent incidents that may harm the environment. The
additional assistance provided also includes preventative workshops for the industry to help applicants

Argumentative Essay On Electoral College
Electoral College The most important time of the year in the USA is when all the citizens gather
together and cast a vote for their elect president. During this process most people would say this when
Americans really show out for their democracy. Many times we have seen the electoral college not
work in favor of the people.. Or maybe it does. The arguments to maintain the Electoral College
system are all derived from the notion that it has worked fine thus far. There have been many attempts
to reform the electoral system but none of them have been successful. This is due to the fact that no
election system is perfect, but the current system has stood the test of time. It has never rejected the
winner of a popular vote majority. It always produces clear and immediately known winners, so far.
Getting rid of the Electoral College system would be profoundly dangerous. Especially with the way

The electoral college began in 1964 with the constitution of the United States in Article II, Clause II.
The total number of electors are 538 and the required number of electoral votes for the candidates
running for president to win the presidency is 270. Along the years, many people have argued that the
electoral college is not a fair. Twice with the running candidates we have seen elect presidents win due
to the electoral college. For example, back in 2000 with Gore vs Bush, Gore had won the popular vote
but did not win the amount of electoral votes to win presidency, therefore Bush had won and became
president. A second example of this happening is in the recent president election with Clinton vs
Trump, Clinton had won the popular vote by nearly 2 million more votes than Trump. In the end,
Trump was the first to receive all 270 electoral votes needed to win and therefore won and became our
elect president. When electoral votes happen it leaves many to question does our vote really

Social Medi The Top Form Of Communication
Back in the 19th century it took very little to have fun. Simple outdoor activities such as basketball,
football, and playing hide and go seek brought happiness and joy across the world. Things changed
drastically once social media was presented to teens. Social media has given teens more ways to
express themselves, but has come at a high price. Although social media is the top form of
communication even above cell phones, it has brought many risks. Social media has changed a lot in
recent memory, affecting communication methods amongst teens, social, and psychological behavior.
The pros associated with social media are communication, social networking, and freedom of speech
while the cons are internet crime, loss of productivity in health and education. Social media has some
great perks. It allows for communication between long lost friends and can connect you with business
partners. Social sites let you express and communicate by exchanging messages and comments. They
also allow you to establish connections with family, friends, and acquaintances. Social media is a
medium for people to keep in contact with their friends and loved ones. For example, someone
moving from state to state or from country to another country can stay connected with them without
missing a beat through social media. Relationships and bonds can be strengthened, as a result, because
of it. In addition, it allows you to express how you are feeling and share your thoughts publicly with
others. Twitter

The Theory Of Moral Development By Lawrence Kohlberg
The reason people in the society are often good than bad lies in the overall process of socialization.
Most of the individuals brought up in an environment of strict morality and teachings of fairness,
kindness and respect to others have good morals. In my opinion, all these factors should be
intertwined to enhance moral development in the society as a whole. Teachings should discourage
violence, dishonesty and selfishness and encourage a sense of fairness, cooperative tendencies and
restraint for other humans. Nevertheless, it is my belief that a strict moral code should be instilled in
the individuals through religion. The process of socialization in religion can have good effects if it
does not focus on religious extremism. The focus on human togetherness and oneness through religion
can enhance tolerance between humans in the society.
The study used the theory of moral development by Lawrence Kohlberg to articulate its views on the
process of human socialization. This theory gives three levels of moral development in the human
beings that include the pre conventional morality, conventional morality and post conventional
morality (Murphey 367). The process of socialization of children following this theory has good
results in the society. Children get to learn ways of handling things and situation from their elders.
This theory provides a consequential way through which individuals can socialize with others in the
society without causing tension or harm. The universal

Introduction
The purpose of this work is to discuss the relevancy of the court case the United States of America v.
Richard D. King, Jr. and the influence it had on future cybercrime cases. A description will be given as
to how the Fourth and Fifth Amendments are applied to cybercrimes, as well as an explanation how
the Fourth and Fifth Amendments were addressed in this case. Further explanation on how the King
ruling may apply to other cases involving computers or other devices that contain electronic evidence
is provided.

A brief summary of the events leading up to the case provided through the University of Phoenix
materials includes King s involvement in email communications with Larkin, the mother of a 2 year
old girl who would later be abused by King sexually. Because Larkin and the child, known as Peanut ,
were residing in King s residence, law enforcement would serve an arrest warrant there against Larkin
and to rescue Peanut from abuse by her caretakers. King walked the officers to Larkin, who willingly
gave up her computer to investigators. King objected that his hard drive was in her computer and did
not give permission for officers to take it, but they did so regardless of his objections. King would
later be connected to further criminal activity and willingly went to speak with law enforcement,
where he made admissions to his involvement. King would later try to have his admission and other
evidence obtained through investigating Larkin as well hidden when he was charged and faced trial
for his crimes (University, 2016).
In regard to the 4th Amendment, King asserted that the police violated the Fourth Amendment when
they entered his house on February 19, 2004 and seized his hard drive without a warrant or his consent
(FindLaw, 2016). Because the owner of the computer hardware was disputing the legality of its

Have you ever thought about how much labor the female workers in Japanese factories have done?
Well, it s a lot but it all pays off! Female workers in Japan worked long hours. One regular working
day could be as long as 13 14 hours (Document B)! Luckily the girls got paid! It may have taken
about 16 long hours of working, just to be able to buy one pound of sugar (Document C). The girls

During the pre Gilead period society was free and was able to do as they pleased. However, the
extremist views of religion changed the life of Gilead. Society is forced to believe that the Republic of
Gilead is much better than the pre Gilead period, and that they are the supreme power of the world.
The creators of the totalitarian regime believe that society can forget about the past. They also use
brainwashing and desensitizes society from the amount of violence, executions, discrimination, and
horrible treatment towards women and those with different religions. Women in Gilead are just seen as
reproductive machines, like as they were commonly used in the Bible. Aunt Lydia brainwashes the
handmaid s by stating: This may not seem ordinary to you now, but after a time it will. It will become
ordinary (31). However, Offred knows that her life will never be ordinary. She admits to the reader
that her once free life is lost. She walks by Harvard University everyday; what once was a symbol of
knowledge and innovation, is now seen as a place where executed bodies hang as a fear tactic for
those who do not believe in Gilead. While others have become desensitized to the amount of
executions and harsh violence in Gilead, Offred never does. Society was forced to forget their past,
however, Offred never does. Offred cannot simply accept a society that took everything that she once

Government Listening
In an ideal world, your governments driving purpose would be to serve and protect its populace and
would do so flawlessly and efficiently. In this ideal system, I do believe that if this government were
listening to the personal telephone calls of its residents it would be able to better protect its people
from threats that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Dreadfully, this is not the case and never will
be the case, as human nature is not that pure. There is a plethora of other factors that become
problematic and cloud the perspective of government officials, preventing them from doing whats
right. Because of this, I realistic circumstances, I believe that government listening in on our phone

Granted my interpretation of this is up to debate but I firmly believe this problem stems from an
increasing number police officers who allow the power of their position to get into their head and
think that they are above the law, and I do think this relates back to the initial question because if a
police officer will let the relatively small amount of power he has go to his head, You can only
imagine how it effects politicians. This isn t the only instance of this either, as a while back, some of

ECV Turning up the Heat in the North East
The profitability of a beef suckler herd is directly related to the number of calves reared per cow
annually. Commercial suckler herds should aim for a tighter calving period with cows producing a
viable calf every 365 days.
The average calving period for lowland suckler herd is 21 weeks, compared to the 12 week target and
reducing the calving period from 21 weeks to 12 weeks can increase revenue from extra weaning
weight by more than £2000 for a 50 cow herd.
Tighter calving periods will increase profitability. If the weaning date on the farm stays constant then
a calf born in the first 3 weeks of calving will on average have a weaning age of 230 days weighing
309kg. A calf born in the 18th ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This data is then collected, interpreted and analysed to deliver an accurate indication of breeding
potential. This data can also be used to give health and nutritional insights for the farmer in a user
friendly format.
SCR Heatime works by monitoring the cow s activity with a unique motion sensor tag which records
cow activity in 2 hour blocks, providing detailed data on the cow s activity levels and their intensity.
The data is collected each time the cow passes under the ID unit, the data is transferred from the tag to
the Heatime control box using infra red communication. This allows the base unit to be sited close to
water troughs and other well used routes so the animal s activity data will be picked up regularly.
The activity data is analysed by the system and separates the cow s day to day activity from oestrus
related activities. The screen shows obvious peaks when the cow is in heat and indicates the optimum
time for inseminating the cow.
In addition, SCR Heatime will highlight cows with low activity levels which can act as an early
indication that an animal requires attention. The home screen will flash up as a health alert giving the
farmer early warning to possible ailments in the cow. The system also detects non cycling cows,
allowing them to be investigated so that less fertile cows can be removed from the herd, thereby
decreasing costs.

The Significance Of Physical Education Essay
The Significance of Physical Education in American Schools
Review
Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA
Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity needed
to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, 2016) and one in three children are overweight or obese (American Heart Association,
2016). This is a local and national emergency that needs to be addressed to keep children healthy,
prevent morbidities, and control the costs that are associated with being overweight or obese. Pre
diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension in children is at an all time high. However, research
indicates that only 3.8 percent of American elementary schools provide daily physical education
(Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2007). This paper will discuss the importance of daily physical
education in our schools. There is an abundance of support to provide daily physical education in our
schools. First Lady Michelle Obama is leading a national initiative called Let s Move to reverse the
childhood obesity epidemic. One of the initiatives in Let s Move is to increase physical activity (Let s
Move!) In fact, Healthy People 2020 has objectives to increase the portion of the America s private
and public schools that require daily physical education (U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services 2011). There is also a national initiative, the FIT Kids Act of

The Nature Of Self By Sri Ramana Maharshi
The Nature of Self
Introduction
The life of man today is characterized by millions of activities that almost steal attention of one self. It
is literally impossible for man to quietly life in a serene place that is very quiet and free from
distraction of any manner. If anybody needs such scenery, then such a person has to invest a lot on it.
Technology has invaded almost all the private areas of human beings. Phones are everywhere and
electromagnetic radiations are everywhere. Even the once thought private zones like bathrooms and
toilets are being invaded by water proof podcasts and Iphones. It is because of these kinds of
distractions and the likes that the concept of nature of self becomes of importance. The nature of self
is an ideology, which is embedded on religious believes in Asia. Sri Ramana Maharshi tried to explain
the concept on different facets. The reason behind the multi facet nature of the concept is because it
tries to explain human behavior, which is very dynamic. The quest to understand humanity propels
this concept to a reality and makes it have diverse versions from different people. Through the lens of
subjects and objects in the greater universe, man tries to explain himself and find peace with the
environment. This is irrespective of whether an atheist or theist. Nature of self not only concentrates
on the explanation of the out going nature of the human begins, but its religious aspect helps mediate
on behavior of human beings. According to the

Law Enforcement And The Community
Law enforcement has a crucial role in the community which goes beyond enforcing the law in a
politically correct manner. The role of law enforcement includes preserving the peace and generating
trust within the community. Communities rely on law enforcement to protect and serve, while in
return, law enforcement relies on the community to support and cooperate. In a perfect world, the
relationship between law enforcement and the community would be mutually beneficial and
harmonious. However, it is not easy enforcing the law in today s free society. Law enforcement
officers face the best and the worst in humanity. The strained relationship between law enforcement
and the community hinders the effectiveness of police officers. There are several approaches to
improve the relationship between police officers and the community. Some of these approaches
include community policing, use of force, body worn cameras, and specialized training requirements
for police officers, among others.
At some point in the history of the United States, citizens had a fearful yet healthy respect for law
enforcement officers. That respect is a vital part of the responsibility that comes from living in a free
society. It is part of the social contract, to follow the laws and respect authority, which makes us a
civilized nation. Regrettably, our current society has changed and the level of respect and appreciation
for authority has diminished. Officers can be thanked for risking their lives on a

Conflict And Internal Conflicts In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The Epic of Gilgamesh tells a story of a powerful demigod whose internal conflicts prevent him from
becoming the great ruler he is meant to be. The story takes place in ancient Mesopotamia in the most
important city, Uruk. Gilgamesh was an impulsive king with much power who had no moral limits on
how he ruled his people. Gilgamesh lets no girl go free to her bridegroom (George 4) he ruled heavily
with an iron fist and his sexual desires brought fear to the women in the city. His unquestionable and
unchallenged power forced the people of Uruk to plead to the gods to end the torment of horrid ruling
and wish to live in peace. The God s solution was to create an equal being to balance the storm of
Gilgamesh s heart. Thus, Enkidu is created with a general purpose to complement Gilgamesh. As
these opposite characters cross paths, Gilgamesh is challenged and his authority is threatened. Their
agreement to fight lead them to figure out their differences and join to become the perfect duo. Slowly
Gilgamesh is exposed to situations, that force him to address his internal conflicts and mature to
become a better ruler.
Self expression can be viewed as weakness in a king. Under these circumstances Gilgamesh cannot
truly express himself due to his position of high power. Gilgamesh goes on a search of triumph to give
meaning to his life. He sets out with Enkidu on a conquest in search of Humbaba, the ogre who guards
of the Forest of Cedar, with the goal to slay him and bring back his

Filipino Culture Essay
A look into Filipino culture
Filipino culture is a mix of east and western perspectives and is heavily rooted in Christianity. The
diversity of its people coupled with their ability to adapt and tolerate new ideas has created a fusion of
traditional and modern. Filipinos pride themselves in their Sociability, religious belief, and Family
oriented lifestyle.
Social Aspects Filipino culture focuses heavily on social interaction and although many Filipinos are
aware of western social norms and are tolerant of social miscues that would be rather damaging in
other conservative cultures. Although there are many western aspects to Filipino social behaviors it is
in many respects entirely different. For example teasing is a viable and acceptable form of social
interaction and is used in many aspects to draw attention to a serious issue without shaming the
involved parties. In addition, direct eye contact with a Filipino is discouraged as it implies aggression
and malevolence. Employer relations with their employees is considered a very important topic. It is
important to indulge employees or any underlings you may have with kindness and respect such
behavior is highly esteemed. Any rude behaviors to such individuals is considered arrogance and will
earn you poor marks with any community or organization you may work with.

know has a phobia, phobias have affected their lives somehow. Researchers have found various
methods for treating these phobias, but still have not found the exact cause for the development of
phobias. To help organize these phobias, researchers have created three main categories that group the
phobias by the general subject of fear. As previously stated, researchers have not yet determined the
cause of the development of phobias, but have narrowed it down to two main theories. With
treatments, researchers have been a bit more successful with finding working treatments, however,
there still aren t very many alternatives. Through the use of three broad categories of phobias,
probable causes and treatments can be determined. The possible cause(s) of the development of
phobias has been debated multiple times, but there are two leading theories, currently. Most
researchers support either genetics or traumatic experiences. Phobias that have been developed during
childhood are more likely to disappear in comparison to adult ... Show more content on

The first and most common category is specific phobias. They tend to focus on one subject such as an
animal or an enviormental factor (i.e heights or the dark). The next category is Agoraphobia.
Agoraphobia centers around areas that make the patient uncomfortable such as open spaces. Panic
attacks tend to be more common for people with Agoraphobia. The last class of phobias is social
phobias. This category is generally regarded as the most severe out of the three due to how it affects
the individual s life. For example, as states, Social phobia disrupts normal life, interfering with career
or social relationships . In this class of phobias, individuals fear that they might be embarrassed or
singled out by others, so they tend to avoid social

Essay On Current Weather
The current event article I chose is called Recent improvement and projected worsening of weather in
the United States by Patrick J. Egan and Megan Mullin published in the journal Nature. Egan is an
Assistant Professor of Politics and Public Policy at NYU. He has written or co written many works
ranging from LGBTQ+ rights to politics, to climate change. He seems to write a lot about public
opinion and how it comes to be. Egan s works have been published in journals ranging from Journal of

Since winter temperatures have increased much faster than summer temperatures, it would seem to
line up well with Americans preferences. On a county by county basis they found, using their WPI
scale, that in the past 40 years the average mean WPI score has increased, meaning over time people
are living in more and more preferable weather. Next, they calculated that approximately 80% of
people live in counties where the weather has improved. (Egan and Mullin, 2016) Lastly, Mullin and
Egan discuss the problems with the perceived comfort of Americans and how this comfort will
change. Climate models show that the trend of smaller increases in summer temperatures, and higher
increases in winter temperatures of the past 40 years will soon reverse. Using their WPI data and two
separate scenarios for Americans future by 2099, they calculated how pleasant the weather will most
likely be. In the first scenario they calculated in weather pleasantness if greenhouse house emissions
are stabilized shortly after 2100, and found that approximately 71% of American counties would
experience a decrease in WPI score. In the second scenario they calculated if greenhouse emissions
were left unabated by 2100, and found that approximately 88% of American counties would likely
experience a decrease in WPI score. (Egan and Mullin, 2016) The authors believe that this switch
from more to less pleasant weather could be big problem. Apathy has

Description Of The Coypu ( Myocastor Coypus )
INTRODUCTION: The Coypu (Myocastor coypus) is a large, robust, semi aquatic rat like rodent and
a casual observer may misidentify a Coypu as a beaver or a muskrat, especially when it is swimming.
However, this superficial resemblance ends when a more detailed study of the animal is made
(LeBlanc. 2005). The average size of the head and body is 52cm with the length of the tail being an
additional 37cm. The body is highly arched with a large almost triangular head. The Incisors are large
with an orange pigmented surface. The Coypu s pelage contains two types of fur; soft dense under fur
and long coarse guard hairs, varying in colour from yellowish brown to reddish brown. The under fur
is dark grey and is thicker on the abdomen (Gosling. 1981). The legs are short, with the hind feet
being significantly longer than the forefeet, and possess five digits; the first four are connected by
webbing and the fifth is free. The forefeet have four long, flexible digits with no webbing and a
vestigial thumb. Because of their dexterous forepaws, coypu can excavate soil to construct sometimes
complex burrow systems within riparian areas and handle very small food items (Woods et al. 1992; D
Elia, 1999). The tail is long and rounded with a scaly texture and scantily haired (D Elia. 1999). In
addition to having webbed hind feet, coypu have several other adaptations conducive to their semi
aquatic lifestyle. The eyes, ears, and nostrils of coypu are set high on their heads. Furthermore,

The Lower House Analysis
The United States Congress comprise two houses, one of them is the lower house known as the House
of Representatives, the upper house known as the Senate. These two chambers made up the legislative
branch due to the agreement of the bicameral legislature resulted from the Great Compromise in 1787.
The House represents the population, while the Senates are appointed by the Congress. Both started
new session on January 6, 2015. However, they have different majority leader; Kevin McCarthy was
the leader of the House of Representatives and Mitch McConnell was the leader of the Senate. People
who work for the lower house have to be fast because the representatives only have two year term. For
the upper house, people can work slower because of six year term; so the Senate can contemplate the
long term effects of laws. Two houses handle different responsibilities. The House of Representatives

which allows the House of Representatives to spend public money on national government. The
founding fathers decided that the House should have the power of spending public money because it s
closer to the public than the Senate. The Senate, the upper house, has an important role on
international relation. Even though the President can make foreign treaties, he President must have
Senate approval by two third votes in order to finalize the treaty to foreign nations. This was designed

review. Randomized and quasi randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the analgesic
effects of adding SNB to FNB following TKA were reviewed and evaluated using a predesigned
protocol.
Literature search
Two of the authors (F.W.A. and R.B.) independently searched the US National Library of Medicine
database, MEDLINE; and the Medline In Process and Other Non Indexed Citations databases; the
ExcerptaMedica database, Embase; Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; and the Cochrane

We retrieved full reports and abstracts of RCTs that examined the effects of single shot or catheter
based infusion proximal SNB (SNB group) compared to placebo, systemic analgesia, or general
anesthesia (Control group) on analgesic outcomes in patients undergoing unilateral TKA. Only RCTs
where FNB was administered in both groups were included; and RCTs examining surgical anesthesia
and/or postoperative analgesia were considered. We excluded studies if analgesic outcomes (at least
analgesic consumption or pain scores) were not reported; if distal SNB was performed; if the analgesic
effect of SNB could not be assessed in isolation from other concurrent analgesic interventions, such as
local anaesthetic wound infiltration, intra articular injection, or epidural anesthesia; if surgeries
involved anatomical areas other than the knee joint, such as the ankle; if knee procedures did not
involve arthroplasty, such as cruciate ligament repair; or, if adjuvants other than epinephrine were
added to local anaesthetics. Additionally, trials involving non adult patients ( 18 years) were also
excluded. Search was limited to RCTs published in English.
Selection of included studies
Two authors (F.W.A. and R.B.) independently evaluated the results of the literature search. The
decision on including qualifying studies in the review was taken by consensus between two of the

William Butler Yeats The Cap and Bells Essay
William Butler Yeats The Cap and Bells
William Butler Yeats s ballad The Cap and Bells depicts the behavior of love through an allegorical
account of actions between a jester and a queen. Through the use of many symbolic references, the
dramatic characters accurately reflect a lover s conduct. Referring to jester like men throughout many
of his works ( A Coat , The Fool by the Roadside , Two Songs of a Fool , The Hour Glass , etc.), Yeats
continually portrays the actions of humans as foolish many a times. Coming to him in a dream, The
Cap and Bells likely acquired its origin from the obsessive infatuation Yeats had with Maud Gonne.
Being an acclaimed actress, Yeats most likely perceived Gonne exceeding him in status; her ... Show

The garden is also important in that it was the first place of affection and romance between man and
woman (Eden). As the garden falls still , Yeats also depicts the harmony between nature and love; no
disturbances occur. Continuing, we read how the jester bade his soul rise upward. Here, the man is
offering his soul to rise to the queen who is above him both physically and in social status. It rises in a
straight blue garment until it reaches her window sill. With the color blue being indicative of hope and
truth, Yeats implies that the soul retains an outer covering of hope as it rises. The soul does not rise in
a curve like manner, but is instead straight, direct, and uninterrupted by any forces which may sway its
course. The window sill becomes symbolic of the queen s spirit. As the jester s soul rises to the ledge,
it hopes the queen s spirit will allow him to enter. As Yeats explains the owls who began to call ,
dualistic meanings develop; the obvious one being that night has fallen. On the contrary, this idea also
implies the symbolism behind the wisdom of the owl. In Webster s dictionary, call has an alternative
meaning of finding fault . Therefore, an attentive reader can distinguish that the owls are giving a wise
warning to the jester about giving his soul to the woman. Although Yeats does not directly state this
notion, his poetic hand constantly relates a simple idea into a

Literature Review On Recidivism
The study, Recidivism among Participants of a Reentry Program for Prisoners Released without
Supervision (2012) by Wikoff, Linhorst, and Morani, discusses if reentry programs with direct
financial assistance leads to a lower recidivism rate and predictors of recidivism among offenders who
have maxed out. In the study, there were 122 inmates that were a part of the Project Re Connect (PRC)
group and 158 offenders were part of the nonparticipation group. The participants were monitor to see
if they would get convicted of other charges after initially being released. While the article was overall
well done, there are some aspects that could be changed and/or interpreted more. There are various
sections within the article that help to further explain the steps of the study. For instance, the abstract
of the article provides a well described summary of the study as a whole. The literature review at the
beginning of the article explains the a brief history of the problem being studied and how more studies
need to be conducted on the topic of recidivism among released prisoners. For examples, the literature
review provides data and statistics that show the rise in the prison population by 475% within a 30
years spanned and the rise of prisoners who are released without supervision. Also, it explains how
many offenders are often sent to jail for new charges and they need for programs that can create an
easier transition process for released prisoners. The literature review

Social Institutions And Its Impact On Society
For sake of discussion, I used the words most influential only in a positive and/or inspiring sense,
meaning society would benefit most from these social institutions. Conversely, I could have argued
that the least influential social institutions are good and/or beneficial to our society, but our society
chooses to ignore them; and the most influential social institution plague our society. However, I chose
the former the positive and/or inspiring sense of the words. Social institutions are the organized, usual,
or standard ways that a society meets its basic needs (P. 104). Moreover, functionalists identify five
functional requisites that each society must meet to insure their survival (Pp. 104 106). With this in
mind, Family and the Economy are the most influential social institutions in industrial society. Henslin
stated in Chapter 3 that Our experiences in the family and other groups during childhood lay down the
basic orientations to life (p. 94). Families offer guidance as well as protection from the larger, and
sometimes hurtful, society. Furthermore, loving families provide socialization, identity, and comfort,
all of which have an essential role in the development of the self (Pp. 104 106). The economy is the
second most influential social institution in industrial societies. To fulfill basic needs, societies rely on
a strong economy to produce and distribute goods and services. Additionally, strong and stable
economies provide employment and job security to

Gandhi s Use Of Nonviolent Civil Disobedience
Until 1947, the British crown ruled over the entire country of India. Indians were treated like second
class citizens below British citizens for years, even though it was their home country. Mohandas K.
Gandhi was an Indian rights activist during this time who eventually became known as the father of
Indian nationalism for his achievements in gaining Indian autonomy while averting civil war.
Although he was an activist for Indian independence, he was also an advocate for peace. Throughout
the duration of the movement, he always encouraged the protestors to never use violence or fight back
against British officers, even when they attacked them. His tactics were considered uses of nonviolent
civil disobedience, or satyagraha . Nonviolent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He started this movement after the English cloth industry put the once thriving Indian cloth industry
out of business. It was also a statement of self sufficiency, making the spinning wheel a symbol of
Indian independence. The spinning wheel is currently featured in the center of the national flag, as
well. Another example is Gandhi s Salt March. In 1930, he walked across the country to the ocean,
with his followers in tow, in order to make salt from the sea. This was a large blow to the British
government because Gandhi made the mach symbolic. British industry had a monopoly of the salt
industry and made it illegal for anyone to make salt without a special permission, so when Gandhi
made salt, he broke the law and defied the British dominance over economy and government.
Throughout all of Gandhi s protest movements, he never encouraged or resorted to violence in order to
meet an end. His philosophy of satyagraha, or nonviolent civil disobedience, sent a message. He
believed that the people who make up a country have the power, so they can bring change without

Star Wars Game Analysis
Would you rather be in a dinosaur world or play a game where you are in a battle in Star Wars? These

their own objective. Your own personal objective could be to tame a certain dinosaur or build your
base but first you need to get the supplies to do so. Although there is not an objective given to you,
most people have the goal and that is to stay alive!

Ark Survival Evolved and Star Wars Battlefront are different. Ark has dinosaurs but there isn t really a

The Resurrection Of Jesus Was A Literal, Historical Event
For thousands of years, man has wondered about life and death. Questions such as What is there after
death? and Do I have a purpose on this planet? have plagued countless people. When looking at the
statement in question, It is not necessary for Christian faith to believe that the resurrection of Jesus
was a literal, historical event. , one must remember that in the minds of Christians, not only is it a
comfort that there is something after death, but also an answer to both of the previous questions; yes,
there is life after death and; yes, the purpose is to follow the Christian belief and eventually spend
eternity in heaven with God after death. I ask you to keep this in mind when reading the rest of this
essay, for man s fear of death is complex and ongoing.
The biggest problems and the four components of the resurrection
There are four components to the resurrection; the appearances after death, the verb to be , the empty
tomb and the passages in the bible. All of these components have meaning to them, however with this
meaning comes problems. For example, the verb to be in the quote he is risen (Matthew 28:6) is a
historical present, however the problem is that the verb may have been changed during translation
over the past two thousand years causing doubt in its literal meaning. This links to another component,
literature; when looking at Christianity s belief in the resurrection of Jesus, the bible is our main
source. Just like the verb to be , some of the

Santa Ana Zoo Field Trip
The self guided field trip that I conducted was to the Santa Ana Zoo. I went to the Santa Ana Zoo on
April 7th, 2017. What I learned while being at the zoo was how animals interacted with each other and
their environment. A couple of the animals were able to live in the same environment because they
don t eat or harm one another. An observation I made was that they grouped different animals in a
huge cage like lemurs, a couple of birds, and a porcupine in which they lived very peacefully minding
their own business. I also learned about different species like insects that I have never heard of and
different kinds of monkeys/ lemurs. Just to add on, visiting the Santa Ana Zoo allowed me to see a real
life anteater, in which I have never seen before, but I did know that they existed. One of the animals

their homes or they are being hunted down. Some of the animals at the zoo can be there because
global warming has caused their environment to be in a drought and the plants they eat and their

  • 4. Argumentative Essay On Electoral College Electoral College The most important time of the year in the USA is when all the citizens gather together and cast a vote for their elect president. During this process most people would say this when Americans really show out for their democracy. Many times we have seen the electoral college not work in favor of the people.. Or maybe it does. The arguments to maintain the Electoral College system are all derived from the notion that it has worked fine thus far. There have been many attempts to reform the electoral system but none of them have been successful. This is due to the fact that no election system is perfect, but the current system has stood the test of time. It has never rejected the winner of a popular vote majority. It always produces clear and immediately known winners, so far. Getting rid of the Electoral College system would be profoundly dangerous. Especially with the way modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The electoral college began in 1964 with the constitution of the United States in Article II, Clause II. The total number of electors are 538 and the required number of electoral votes for the candidates running for president to win the presidency is 270. Along the years, many people have argued that the electoral college is not a fair. Twice with the running candidates we have seen elect presidents win due to the electoral college. For example, back in 2000 with Gore vs Bush, Gore had won the popular vote but did not win the amount of electoral votes to win presidency, therefore Bush had won and became president. A second example of this happening is in the recent president election with Clinton vs Trump, Clinton had won the popular vote by nearly 2 million more votes than Trump. In the end, Trump was the first to receive all 270 electoral votes needed to win and therefore won and became our elect president. When electoral votes happen it leaves many to question does our vote really ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Simple outdoor activities such as basketball, football, and playing hide and go seek brought happiness and joy across the world. Things changed drastically once social media was presented to teens. Social media has given teens more ways to express themselves, but has come at a high price. Although social media is the top form of communication even above cell phones, it has brought many risks. The pros associated with social media are communication, social networking, and freedom of speech while the cons are internet crime, loss of productivity in health and education. • 7. The Theory Of Moral Development By Lawrence Kohlberg The reason people in the society are often good than bad lies in the overall process of socialization. Most of the individuals brought up in an environment of strict morality and teachings of fairness, kindness and respect to others have good morals. In my opinion, all these factors should be intertwined to enhance moral development in the society as a whole. Teachings should discourage violence, dishonesty and selfishness and encourage a sense of fairness, cooperative tendencies and restraint for other humans. Nevertheless, it is my belief that a strict moral code should be instilled in the individuals through religion. The process of socialization in religion can have good effects if it does not focus on religious extremism. The focus on human togetherness and oneness through religion can enhance tolerance between humans in the society. The study used the theory of moral development by Lawrence Kohlberg to articulate its views on the process of human socialization. This theory gives three levels of moral development in the human beings that include the pre conventional morality, conventional morality and post conventional morality (Murphey 367). The process of socialization of children following this theory has good results in the society. Children get to learn ways of handling things and situation from their elders. This theory provides a consequential way through which individuals can socialize with others in the society without causing tension or harm. The universal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because Larkin and the child, known as Peanut , were residing in King s residence, law enforcement would serve an arrest warrant there against Larkin and to rescue Peanut from abuse by her caretakers. King walked the officers to Larkin, who willingly gave up her computer to investigators. King objected that his hard drive was in her computer and did not give permission for officers to take it, but they did so regardless of his objections. King would later be connected to further criminal activity and willingly went to speak with law enforcement, where he made admissions to his involvement. King would later try to have his admission and other evidence obtained through investigating Larkin as well hidden when he was charged and faced trial for his crimes (University, 2016). In regard to the 4th Amendment, King asserted that the police violated the Fourth Amendment when they entered his house on February 19, 2004 and seized his hard drive without a warrant or his consent (FindLaw, 2016). In a perfect world, the relationship between law enforcement and the community would be mutually beneficial and harmonious. However, it is not easy enforcing the law in today s free society. Some of these approaches include community policing, use of force, body worn cameras, and specialized training requirements for police officers, among others. At some point in the history of the United States, citizens had a fearful yet healthy respect for law enforcement officers. That respect is a vital part of the responsibility that comes from living in a free society. It is part of the social contract, to follow the laws and respect authority, which makes us a civilized nation. Description Of The Coypu ( Myocastor Coypus ) INTRODUCTION: The Coypu (Myocastor coypus) is a large, robust, semi aquatic rat like rodent and a casual observer may misidentify a Coypu as a beaver or a muskrat, especially when it is swimming. However, this superficial resemblance ends when a more detailed study of the animal is made (LeBlanc. 2005). The average size of the head and body is 52cm with the length of the tail being an additional 37cm. The body is highly arched with a large almost triangular head. The Incisors are large with an orange pigmented surface. The Coypu s pelage contains two types of fur; soft dense under fur and long coarse guard hairs, varying in colour from yellowish brown to reddish brown. The under fur is dark grey and is thicker on the abdomen (Gosling. 1981). The legs are short, with the hind feet being significantly longer than the forefeet, and possess five digits; the first four are connected by webbing and the fifth is free. The forefeet have four long, flexible digits with no webbing and a vestigial thumb. Because of their dexterous forepaws, coypu can excavate soil to construct sometimes complex burrow systems within riparian areas and handle very small food items (Woods et al. 1992; D Elia, 1999). The tail is long and rounded with a scaly texture and scantily haired (D Elia. 1999). William Butler Yeats The Cap and Bells Essay William Butler Yeats The Cap and Bells William Butler Yeats s ballad The Cap and Bells depicts the behavior of love through an allegorical account of actions between a jester and a queen. Referring to jester like men throughout many of his works ( A Coat , The Fool by the Roadside , Two Songs of a Fool , The Hour Glass , etc.), Yeats continually portrays the actions of humans as foolish many a times. Here, the man is offering his soul to rise to the queen who is above him both physically and in social status. It rises in a straight blue garment until it reaches her window sill. With the color blue being indicative of hope and truth, Yeats implies that the soul retains an outer covering of hope as it rises. The soul does not rise in a curve like manner, but is instead straight, direct, and uninterrupted by any forces which may sway its course. The window sill becomes symbolic of the queen s spirit. As the jester s soul rises to the ledge, it hopes the queen s spirit will allow him to enter. As Yeats explains the owls who began to call , dualistic meanings develop; the obvious one being that night has fallen. On the contrary, this idea also implies the symbolism behind the wisdom of the owl. In Webster s dictionary, call has an alternative meaning of finding fault . • 32. Social Institutions And Its Impact On Society For sake of discussion, I used the words most influential only in a positive and/or inspiring sense, meaning society would benefit most from these social institutions. Conversely, I could have argued that the least influential social institutions are good and/or beneficial to our society, but our society chooses to ignore them; and the most influential social institution plague our society. However, I chose the former the positive and/or inspiring sense of the words. Social institutions are the organized, usual, or standard ways that a society meets its basic needs (P. 104). Moreover, functionalists identify five functional requisites that each society must meet to insure their survival (Pp. 104 106). With this in mind, Family and the Economy are the most influential social institutions in industrial society. Henslin stated in Chapter 3 that Our experiences in the family and other groups during childhood lay down the basic orientations to life (p. 94). Families offer guidance as well as protection from the larger, and sometimes hurtful, society. Furthermore, loving families provide socialization, identity, and comfort, all of which have an essential role in the development of the self (Pp. 104 106). The economy is the second most influential social institution in industrial societies. To fulfill basic needs, societies rely on a strong economy to produce and distribute goods and services. Additionally, strong and stable economies provide employment and job security to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Gandhi s Use Of Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Until 1947, the British crown ruled over the entire country of India. Indians were treated like second class citizens below British citizens for years, even though it was their home country. Mohandas K. Gandhi was an Indian rights activist during this time who eventually became known as the father of Indian nationalism for his achievements in gaining Indian autonomy while averting civil war. Although he was an activist for Indian independence, he was also an advocate for peace. Throughout the duration of the movement, he always encouraged the protestors to never use violence or fight back against British officers, even when they attacked them. His tactics were considered uses of nonviolent civil disobedience, or satyagraha . Nonviolent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He started this movement after the English cloth industry put the once thriving Indian cloth industry out of business. It was also a statement of self sufficiency, making the spinning wheel a symbol of Indian independence. The spinning wheel is currently featured in the center of the national flag, as well. Another example is Gandhi s Salt March. In 1930, he walked across the country to the ocean, with his followers in tow, in order to make salt from the sea. This was a large blow to the British government because Gandhi made the mach symbolic. British industry had a monopoly of the salt industry and made it illegal for anyone to make salt without a special permission, so when Gandhi made salt, he broke the law and defied the British dominance over economy and government. Throughout all of Gandhi s protest movements, he never encouraged or resorted to violence in order to meet an end. His philosophy of satyagraha, or nonviolent civil disobedience, sent a message. This game is an open world with almost endless possibilities. There really isn t an objective given to you, players just have to come up with their own objective. Your own personal objective could be to tame a certain dinosaur or build your base but first you need to get the supplies to do so. Although there is not an objective given to you, most people have the goal and that is to stay alive! Now for Star Wars Battlefront . The objective depends on what gamemode you play. For example, in one of the gamemodes, you have to defend or attack objectives and those are usually labeled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ark has dinosaurs but there isn t really a time on it because there are guns and turrets but no futuristic stuff. While Star Wars Battlefront is set in star wars which is along time ago in a galaxy far far away and as everyone knows is very futuristic. These games are very different. • 35. Jam Concert Review A quiet little house on a University campus that has 3 boys and 6 girls encompassing it. All three boys play guitar beautifully and attempt to sing as best they can. I have never heard them play before, but I was invited to go watch one of their jam sessions that took place in the past couple weeks for this project and to learn more about music from the musicians themselves. What makes this something out of my comfort zone? Why did I choose this venue or music type for this project? When I think of live music, I do not think of jam sessions, in fact I have never been to a jam session. I often find it far to intimate and uncomfortable because the performer can usually touch you with their foot in the space that they are playing in. As a performer ... A song that originally was made with piano and female vocals while this performer chose to do it with a single acoustic guitar and no singing. He began in a slow tempo rhythm, I would say about half the speed of the original song, when the artist came up to the chorus he sped up the tempo to the normal speed of the song. Because of our intimate setting I was able to ask the artist why he made that decision, his response was that it was by accident and that noticed he started the song off a little slow and had to wait for the optimal time to get to the correct ... • 39. The Resurrection Of Jesus Was A Literal, Historical Event For thousands of years, man has wondered about life and death. Questions such as What is there after death? and Do I have a purpose on this planet? have plagued countless people. When looking at the statement in question, It is not necessary for Christian faith to believe that the resurrection of Jesus was a literal, historical event. , one must remember that in the minds of Christians, not only is it a comfort that there is something after death, but also an answer to both of the previous questions; yes, there is life after death and; yes, the purpose is to follow the Christian belief and eventually spend eternity in heaven with God after death. I ask you to keep this in mind when reading the rest of this essay, for man s fear of death is complex and ongoing. The biggest problems and the four components of the resurrection There are four components to the resurrection; the appearances after death, the verb to be , the empty tomb and the passages in the bible. All of these components have meaning to them, however with this meaning comes problems. For example, the verb to be in the quote he is risen (Matthew 28:6) is a historical present, however the problem is that the verb may have been changed during translation over the past two thousand years causing doubt in its literal meaning. This links to another component, literature; when looking at Christianity s belief in the resurrection of Jesus, the bible is our main source. Just like the verb to be , some of the ... • 40. Santa Ana Zoo Field Trip The self guided field trip that I conducted was to the Santa Ana Zoo. I went to the Santa Ana Zoo on April 7th, 2017. What I learned while being at the zoo was how animals interacted with each other and their environment. A couple of the animals were able to live in the same environment because they don t eat or harm one another. An observation I made was that they grouped different animals in a huge cage like lemurs, a couple of birds, and a porcupine in which they lived very peacefully minding their own business. I also learned about different species like insects that I have never heard of and different kinds of monkeys/ lemurs. Just to add on, visiting the Santa Ana Zoo allowed me to see a real life anteater, in which I have never seen before, but I did know that they existed. One of the animals that I found the most interesting was a Gibbon. A Gibbon is an ape that I have never seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The evolution of these animals can be connected to Social Darwinism in Unit one subtopics. In the zoo, the animals are sheltered there not solely on the case of survival of the fittest , but because humans are destroying their homes or they are being hunted down. Some of the animals at the zoo can be there because global warming has caused their environment to be in a drought and the plants they eat and their shelter isn t able to survive in the new conditions.
