Is Hannibal Lecter s Integrity In The Film Silence Of The...
The film Silence of the Lambs risks its integrity by banking heavily on the interactions between the
two main actors to keep the viewer engaged;Though a lot is wagered in this move, much is gleaned as
Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster both proved their worth bringing in countless awards for their
performances. The film closely follows Clarice Starling, a budding FBI agent in training, as she
follows the case of serial killer, Buffalo Bill. As opposed to most horror movies, there is not one sole
villain; Hannibal Lecter is a sort of grey area character due to the fact that he is a psychotic,
cannibalistic killer, but he in fact actually assists in the apprehension of Buffalo Bill. Though she is
supposed to be working as part of a team, throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen by just glancing at the dvd case, as the Death s head Hawkmoth is actually
constructed with 7 bodies; this makes quite a lot of sense since they could easily represent the 7
victims in this film. The moth, in its simplest interpretation, symbolizes change. This is so blatantly
obvious that Lecter literally says The significance of the moth is change . That which is referred to
with the theme of change is much less obvious however, as it could represent a number of the
characters. I believe it most closely is to exemplify Clarice s journey from a woman trying to become
recognized in the law enforcement world, to an FBI agent who, by her self, conquers her demons by
silencing her lambs, by taking down serial killer, Buffalo Bill. Interesting that I would mention Lambs
right? It s no coincidence. Lambs are beautiful, innocent and helpless, needing a caretaker for
nurturing, impotent against the slaughterer. Clarice tried to intervene on their behalf, and failed.
Because of this, she has always heard lambs screaming in the back of her mind. Enter this film, and
Starling herself becomes the lamb, constantly the prey of men such as Lecter and Bill who seem just
to be waiting to jump at the chance to slaughter her (one butchers his victims, while the other eats
them). Ironically, it is Lecter, who we think of as the slaughterer, that

Resistance To Change Analysis
assess during the change process, and also change direction if necessary.
Strategies
The organization must implement specific strategies to identify and resolve resistance to change. O
Connor (1993) stated In an organization, resistance is opposition or witholding of support for specific
plans or ideas. It can either be intentional or unintentional, covert or overt (p. 30). Employees will
likely consider how change affects them personally and that may naturally cause some resistance. One
of the most important things an organization can do to minimize resistance is to address these personal
concerns. It is also important to identify any potential loss or gain that comes from implementing, or
not implementing, the change initiative. Leaders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leaders have to give stakeholders the opportunity to properly digest information, and react to change,
especially if it affects them directly. Understanding that a disruption may occur also provides the
leaders with an opportunity to address issues and assess the need for training. Properly allocating an
honest timeframe for all stages of the change process gives the organization an opportunity to set
realistic goals. This means allowing for the training of employees that may require it to be successful
in projected goals. Treating employees fairly and setting them up to be successful is not only good for
them, but also for the productivity and possibility of success of the organization as a whole. During
the assessment phase leaders must have an honest reflection of the entire process, considering the
areas of both success and failure. Leaders must be fair in their assessment of the outcomes and be able
to take responsibility for making decisions and the effects of those decisions (Stainer, 2004).
Properly responding to ethical issues include the following: recognizing the issue, using ethical
judgment in assessment of the issue, behaving ethically, and the moral intent (Jones, 1991; Rest,
1986). The organization must be transparent in identifying the problem and actively work to correct
the issue. Because regulations and laws are in place to protect people from any ethical mistreatment,

Descriptive Essay Christmas
Christmas I sat awaiting all of my family members in the heat filled garage that would become much
warmer as the night went on. It would be filled with loud laughter and cheering from my whole
family. It would be smelling of grandma s ham she cooked and pretzel salad my mom makes every
year. I m getting anxious as i hear a car pull up outside crunching on the black gravel. I rush to the
window and see my cousins step out of the car, I rush to the door to greet them with a big smile on my
face. It is our annual family Christmas party and my cousins one a year older than me and one
younger rush to give me a big hug at the door. I haven t seen them in a couple of months and we have
all missed each other. My Aunt and Uncle sneak two presents into the garage while my grandma and
grandpa give my cousins hugs.
Well hello there, come on in! shouts my grandma excitedly. She gives them all kisses on the cheek and
then my cousins and I run upstairs to the kitchen, away from all the loud noise. We all have three big
grins on our faces when my brother comes in from the living room. He also is smiling and takes
ashton in to the garage to play with the legos. Meghan and I await the rest of our family in the kitchen
window. More people start showing up and my little cousin Kearson arrives.
The garage in full of all sorts of voices now, for most of my large family has arrived. Meghan and I
rush down the stairs greeted my a strong little hug from our favorite cousin.

Communism And Fall Of Communism
What is Communism ? Communism according to Cambridge dictionary can be defined as: the belief
in a society without different social classes in which the methods of production are owned and
controlled by all its members and everyone works as much as they can and receives what they need. .
Communism is gotten from the Latin word communis common, universal. It s a financial and social
framework in which all (or almost all) property and assets are altogether claimed by a raunchy society
and not by individual residents. The goal is to make it a classless society, and there s less gap between
the poor and the rich. Communism took place mainly in Russia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, North Korea
and some Eastern European countries etc. The most familiar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One thing they have in common is that they were both communist states. I m going to be discussing
about the communist systems both in Bulgaria and Czechoslovakia, and also the fall of communism,
and compare them.
COMMUNISM IN BULGARIA: in spite of the fact that Bulgaria changed its union and proclaimed
war on Nazi Germany on September 7, 1944 on September 9 a coup d état, sponsored by means of the
Red Army troops, introduced another administration headed by the Fatherland Front, which might
have been overwhelmed by the Bulgarian Communist Party. The People s Republic of Bulgaria (PRB)
was the name of the Bulgaria socialist gathering that existed from 1946 to 1990, exactly when the
Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP) was governing together with the oppositional National Agrarian
Party. The following two years were joined by cumbersome suppression of the non Communist
resistance. This just expanded when it got to be obvious that the United States and United Kingdom
had generally impartial themselves in Bulgaria. By September, a referendum was held in Bulgaria, in
regards to whether to leave it as a monarch or it should become a republic. The majority of people

Evolution Of Ice Hockey
Fans in the crowds experience all the exciting and nail biting moments each game with modern sports
such as hockey. Throughout the years an evolution in the game has been witnessed; there has been
new technologies introduced to the equipment, near death experiences, bias from various sports fields,
and new implementation of rules to the game as the years progressed. The true satisfaction of not only
being a hockey fan, but a soccer fanatic myself is watching teams come together, and strive to
complete the objective in a proper healthy way; where violence is seen less as a necessity and more as
a catalyst to bring the crowds to their feet with excitement and emotions. Ice hockey was founded
around the 1880 s, and during its early stages people played the game outdoors, using equipment for
warmth rather than protection. As time; progressed the NHL was stablished, games were played
indoor, and the use of helmets was made mandatory by the organization. Leather and felt were largely
used as protection, but as time moved forward these were replaced with more ... Show more content

Consequently, it is not surprising to see many fouls and fights on the field. The Flames and Oilers are
a great example of a famous hockey rivalry. This match is known as the Battle of Alberta and as fans

having fan hatred and politics off the ice. This is a battle of City Vs City where their main goal is to
out do one another in the game and prove to their audience who the better city is. This feud has been
going on for over 30 years, and it has shaped hockey history, and our natural hatred thanks to all the
all the fights, the jealousy, the overtime wins, and trophies each team has obtained through the years

Reaction Temperature Lab
Determining the Effect of Temperature on a Chemical Reaction In the experiment, my partner and I
will be conducting small tests multiple times to determine what effect temperature of a solution can
have of the speed of a reaction. Heating up sodium thiosulphate in a water bath will alter the
temperature of the solution. The sodium thiosulphate will then be added to room temperature
hydrochloric acid, and using a stopwatch, we will record how long each reaction takes. My partner
and I have decided to do the 90 degrees, 50 degrees, room temperature and ice bath. We have also

temperature. Aim: To investigate how the temperature of a solution affects ... Show more content on

How Did Thucydides Contribute To The Peloponnesian War
Thucydides, an Athenian who lived during the Peloponnesian War (431 404 BC), may be one of the
earliest western war theorists thanks to his work, History of the Peloponnesian War. His history
described the conflict between ancient Athens and Sparta. In doing so, he authored one of the most
balanced and powerful explanations of the causes of war.
Thucydides, linked to the Athenian aristocracy, enjoyed a wealthy upbringing and education as a
youth. As an adult, he served as a commander for Athens. He witnessed a number speeches, debates,
and events or heard them second hand that decided the many courses the war would take. This all
bears out in the articulate, informed narrative of the war from tactical through strategic levels.
Surprisingly, Thucydides maintained an objective perspective through much of his history. One
assumes that as an Athenian, he would take a pro Athens approach. However, two reasons provide
balance and significance to his work. First, following the loss ... Show more content on

Ancient Greece consisted of many competing city states; the most powerful consisted of democratic
Athens and authoritarian Sparta. Each power made strategic decisions in different ways. The
Athenians set and adjusted the course of the war through open debate and voting while the Spartan
oligarchy under a king cast the final decisions. Additionally, each state s economic nature affected
their military character. The agrarian Sparta formed a dominant landpower while the seafaring
Athenians cultivated a powerful navy. Further, though a small theater of operations compared to
modern standards, time and space affected the course and nature of the war. Wind speed and sea
conditions limited throughput along lines of communication. Rigid Hellenic phalanxes encouraged set

The Theme Of Life In Dante s Inferno
After reading Dante s Divine Comedy or Dante s Inferno by Dante Alighieri, it would appear that this
is a story about a man describing how his exile is leading him towards hell. At the beginning of the
story, Dante starts out by saying, In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself within a dark
woods where the straight way was lost (page 27). The reader will assume that this story is about Dante
explaining his views of hell separated into nine circles. Alighieri s writings gave context relating to his
life from his exile to his beloved.
The story Dante s Inferno is about a man s journey through hell. The main character, Dante, has just
been exiled from his home and is now trying to find the right road. The significance of the beginning
is the religious aspect of Dante s adventure of leaving to another realm. In my opinion, the straight
way is through faith in God. The dark woods represents sins and fear in God. He was lost in sin and he
sets out to look for God in a sinful world. The Guelph Ghibelline Wars was a struggle between the
papacy and the holy roman empire. There was a split, which created two factions in the Guelphs. One
was a white faction, which supported independence from the Pope. The other was the black, whose
people were willing to work with the Pope. Alighieri was fighting with for white faction. Those
against the Pope, including Dante, were exiled from the Italian Peninsula. Dante felt lost in the world
and wanted to find confidence in God

Romeo And Juliet Forbidden Love
Examine the theme of love in Romeo and Juliet. How does Shakespeare explore this theme? In
William Shakespeare s play written in 1595, Romeo and Juliet explores the theme of love, as the two
star crosses lovers who come from two different conflicting families that hate each other s guts, yet
fate brings them together and despite the grudge that each family holds for the other. Young Romeo is
seen though impulsive and immature, his idealism and passion make him an extremely likable
character. He lives in the middle of a violent feud between his family and the Capulets, but he is not at
all interested in violence. Meanwhile, Juliet appears to be just another teen girl infatuated with a
young boy. Forbidden Love: As the feud between the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Montague is a good father and he asks Benvolio to discover Romeo s problem. Romeo, of course, is
the victim of unrequited love. Lord Capulet also shows signs of being a good father. When Count
Paris asks for Juliet s hand in marriage, Capulet displays his concern for his daughter by urging Paris
to win her love. Juliet s happiness is important and he will not agree to marry her unless she is
satisfied with the choice. He tells Paris in Act I, Scene 2, But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart; My
will to her consent is but a part. And, she agreed, within her scope of choice lies my consent and fair
according voice. Later, Capulet changes his mind. Even then, though, he is thinking of his family
when he tries to bring a day of joy with a wedding after the death of Tybalt, Juliet s cousin. The Nurse,
who must be considered a member of the Capulet family, is obviously very loving toward Juliet. In
Act I, Scene 3, she talks about how she literally nursed the girl. She says, Thou wast the prettiest babe
that e er I nursed. Conclusion: To conclude, Romeo and Juliet share a very loving relationship since
their very strong friendship at the start. In the reader s mind, it is truly insanity if you could imagine
these two lovers only having met just a few short days ago yet, still sharing a wonderful connection,
knowing they are truly in love, and not just love struck. as some say. Word Count:

Challenges Facing New Markets, Multinational Corporations...
Introduction
When entering new markets, multinational corporations (MNCs) often form strategic alliances with
local companies. An alliance is where two or more organisations integrate to form a strategic, business
relationship (Finlay, 2000). The potential benefits of such alliances include access to knowledge and
resources, building a global network, market access, recognition and access to a distribution network
which can all provide MNCs with a competitive advantage in a foreign market. However, MNCs also
face many challenges when forming alliances in other countries including loss of intellectual property,
different expectations, various challenges of globalisation (e.g. more stringent regulations being
imposed on foreign firms), ethical and cultural considerations and change management. This essay
will focus on two of these challenges in depth change management and cultural adaptation. However
within these sections, certain other topics will also be considered including leadership, innovation and
diversity and globalisation. This essay will critically discuss and analyse these challenges drawing on
real world examples, academic theory and additional research. It will also highlight and consider
potential solutions to these challenges.
Change management
One challenge MNCs face when forming alliances in foreign countries is successfully managing the
organisational change necessary to integrate two businesses which may have different cultures,
workforces and

Home Inequalities In Public Schools
When the Home Hurts the Schooled: The Inequalities in Public School Education
The education system in America is stained by racial and structural inequalities that cause those in
lower income areas to not receive the necessary resources that enable a student to thrive. These
benefits are as simple as certified teachers (Turner), maintained classrooms, and even accredited
school districts. The common denominator in the lack of basic expectations is the type of funding
public schools receive. The federal government gives about 10 percent of the money schools have to
spend (Turner), while the state and mainly local dollars have to provide the rest. When the majority of
a school s funding is produced using the local region s property taxes, ... Show more content on

In 1926, U.S Supreme Court decision, Corrigan v. Buckley, validated the use of restrictive covenants,
a legally enforceable contract imposed in a deed upon the buyer of property ( 1920s 1948: Racially
Restrictive Covenants ). These covenants were typically used to permit the denial of ownership to a
black family. Covenants, neighborhood groups, and other types of legislative or physical interference,
froze efforts to integrate, forcing black families to live in inadequate housing conditions at absurdly
high prices.
After racially restrictive covenants and Federal Housing Administration practices were deemed racist
and immoral, the damage was already done. Black families living in previously marked red zones
could not afford to move out of their segregated and underdeveloped neighborhoods. The public
schools in these districts suffered as well because of the decreasing values of the properties and the
high concentration of low income residents. Necessary educational resources in these areas dwindle

Idiopathic Epilepsy Research Paper
Epilepsy is a disorder where nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disturbed. This activity causes
sporadic electrical storms in the brain called seizures. During seizures, people experience unusual
behavior and symptoms. There are two major types of epilepsy, idiopathic/cryptogenic, symptomatic.
Both of these have different causes and affect the body and mind in particular ways.
Idiopathic epilepsy is commonly associated with cryptogenic because they are very similar. However,
there are some main differences between the two. Idiopathic epilepsy means that there is no cause for
the abnormal activity occurring in the brain. Cryptogenic epilepsy is when there is a likely cause, but

A CBC helps the doctor identify infections, allergies, and other abnormalities to choose the right
anticonvulsant medication. CBC s measure the number of red blood cells, the number of white blood
cells, platelets(help the blood clot in case of an injury or bleeding), hemoglobin(the substance in red
blood cells that carry oxygen), hematocrit(the percentage of blood made up of red blood cells), and
mean corpuscular volume(the size of the red blood cells).
In some cases, epilepsy can be prevented. However, most of the time, this isn t the case. Usually,
epilepsy is genetic. Another common cause is traumatic head injury from an accident. Preventing falls
can lower your risk of getting epilepsy. In most cases, though, it is hereditary. Normally, epilepsy
occurs in someone who has a family history of seizures.
Right now, there is no cure for epilepsy. There are, however, treatments that people find helpful.
Traditional treatments include prescription medications like Lyrica or Zarontin for symptom control.
Most of these prescriptions are to control seizures and depending on what type of seizure a person has,
they may take different medications to regulate symptoms. Another traditional treatment is surgery.
The most common one is corpus callosotomy. This is when a person with extreme seizures has split
brain surgery so that seizures don t spread from one hemisphere of the brain to

Instagram Is A Negative Impact On The Youth Culture
Demi Lovato stated People say sticks and stones may break your bones, but names can never hurt you,
but that s not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven t forgotten.
Given this point, I believe Instagram is a negative impact on the youth culture because it created
virtual bullying and a disillusioned self image meaning lowering one s self esteem how someone s
appearance supposed to be. Thus, I believe as a previous instagramer one shouldn t indulge in the
social media world if they re not self confident or aware of their own self.
Bullying begins inside the school because my beginning stages of being bullied began in the 4th
grade. At that time, I attended a private school which was majority whites and I was the only little
black girl in my class, we all knew each other since pre school but as we aged the one s I had as
friends disappeared into their own group of peers, so I was left alone. Since, I felt like I wasn t fitting
in and lost the friends I once had I decided to transfer over to a majority African American public
school in the 6th grade which was actually worse than being alienated at the private school. My
assumption on being around peers who were the same race was a mistake because although I felt
alienated at my other school, once I transferred over in the 5th grade I literally transferred to a school
from hell. Students started to bully me because of how proper I spoken. For example, They would

Heroin And Other Opiate Abuse
The purpose of this paper is to assess the issues that arise from heroin and other opiate abuse, how the
US government is combating it, and what effects these policies have in Afghanistan, the world s
supplier of opium.
Heroin was invented in the 1895. ( Opium Throughout History ) It was a new concoction based on
morphine, similar to the then popular laudanum, and was initially meant to be used as a cheaper
medical substitute at the time. Heroin was never successfully brought into the medical fold, but was
popular as a recreational drug almost immediately. Opiates, in one form or another, have been used for
medical pain relief and recreationally since as early as 3400 BC. ( Opium throughout History )
Throughout the history of opium, control, regulation, trade, and addiction have been struggles for
every society and civilization, starting with the Egyptians, hitting the Romans, the Chinese, and the
Portuguese on the way, and continues to be a struggle in every modern society in the world. ( World
Drug Report 2010 )
Throughout history the popularity of heroin has waxed and waned. Sometimes heroin was practically
a non issue, other times, heroin has been one of the biggest struggles a society has faced. America
today struggles with heroin like no other time in its history, in part because of the effects of addiction
at home, and in part because of the significant profits it allows its handlers both at home and overseas.
Heroin was invented in 1895 by a

Using Sip Procedures For Food Deprived Sprague Dawley Rats
Using SIP procedures in moderately food deprived Sprague Dawley rats, we found that adolescent
males and females provided with scheduled delivery of banana pellets willingly drank notable
amounts of 10% ethanol in a palatable solution (Boost®) in short, 30 minute daily access sessions
between the ages of P28 to P41. By collecting blood samples twice during the fourteen days of access,
we established that this intake was often sufficient to raise BECs into the binge range ( 80mg/dl).
Intake of individual animals was observed to occur in a binge like pattern over days, typically

1b). This finding is inconsistent with prior literature, showing that SIP can be established with water
only (Falk, 1961). Furthermore, in Experiment 2 where scheduled delivery was abolished, with
animals receiving mass presentation of pellets at the onset of the intake session, high consumption
levels were nevertheless maintained. It is possible that the lack of schedule dependency per se may
have been associated with limitations in the number of test days due to the time constraints of
adolescence. Indeed, SIP with an ethanol solution is typically established in adult rats over a period of
many weeks in the operant chambers, during which the concentration of ethanol is gradually raised
(Falk et al., 1972). In preliminary work, we established the 14 day (P28 41) intake period, noting that
consumptions declined notably as animals transitioned out of the early mid adolescent period, an
ontogenetic time course similar to what we have observed in home cage consumption studies (Vetter
O Hagen et al., 2009).
In Experiment 1b, animals given access to Boost® without ethanol consumed on average more than
twice as much fluid (ml/kg) per intake session than their ethanol drinking counterparts in Experiment
1a. This is likely to be due to the high palatability of chocolate Boost ® for adolescent rats, which is
diminished by the combination of the bitter/sweet taste properties of

The Carolina Panthers Analysis
After opening at 5.5 points, the Super Bowl line has settled at around 6.0 with the Carolina Panthers
favored over the Denver Broncos. One would assume the Panthers are favored due in large part to its
15 1 regular season record and the manner with which it eliminated its playoff opponents Seattle 31 24
and Arizona 49 15. All things considered, it would be prudent to consider whether or not the Broncos
are indeed as much of an underdog as the line indicates. One one hand, the Panthers are very flashy
with its brash young QB in Cam Newton and high scoring offense. On the other side of the field, the
Broncos are led by a strong defense and an aging QB, Peyton Manning, who is arguably one of the

With a marginal advantage on defense and a big deficit on offense, the 6 point line seems reasonable.
However, the one intangible that can t be factored into the line is Manning s will to win. A man doesn

efforts and the government s laws the fur trade will not stop until they try and cut off the demand for
this fur. They ve realized that this is a very profitable industry so no matter how illegal or cruel it is,
poachers will still try and make money. Therefore, if there is no demand and if they can make people
realize that they do not need fur then the poachers will be forced to stop. The European Union and the
United States have banned trade in seal fur products but yet those seals continue on the verge of
extinction ( American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ). Factory farming has also
been banned in Austria, Croatia and the United Kingdom but in Austria there are still very high rates

The Benefits Of Intrauterine Insemination ( Iui ), And...
In today s world there are several options for couples who are wanting to begin or add to the number
of members in their families, but have had difficulties in doing so. Aside from adoption, the
possibilities for these couples include: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVI), and
Surrogate Mother Arrangements. While these options may result in a pregnancy, they are not without
risk and must be considered prayerfully, as they carry a moral and ethical weight. First, Intrauterine
Insemination, also known as artificial insemination, is a process commonly used for unexplained
infertility in which specially washed sperm is directly inserted into the uterus (Christianlifesources).
Most clinics offer for the woman to remain lying down for a few minutes after the procedure, although
it has not been shown to improve success. The sperm has been put above the vagina and cervix it will
not leak out when you stand up (Advanced Fertilization). During the IUI procedure, Doctors place the
sperm higher in the cervix than with Intracervical or ICI procedures, resulting in higher percentages of
pregnancy. Doctors utilize IUI in situations where women experience problems with ovulation, mild
cases of endometriosis, and cervical factor infertility (advanced fertility). Clients also benefit from IUI
when male factor infertility is an issue, however, If the sperm count, motility and morphology scores
are quite low, intrauterine insemination is unlikely to work (Advanced

Short Bowel Syndrome Case Study
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a heterogeneous, malabsorptive disorder that occurs after an extensive
small bowel resection surgery (2). Conditions of the small bowel which may warrant this type of
surgery include Crohn s disease, post radiation enteritis, ischemia/other vascular issues of the bowel,
malignancy, trauma, tumors, and complications from previous abdominal or gastric bypass surgery (1,
2). Once the bowel has been resected, the normal processes involved in absorption of nutrients,
electrolytes, and fluids are altered (1). A variety of long term complications related to SBS exists and
is dependent upon which sections of the bowel remain, the amount of remaining bowel, and the
functional and structural adaptations that occur post surgery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, the jejunum only has the ability to adapt functionally, but the ileum has the ability to
adapt functionally and structurally (3). Therefore, the more ileum remaining after a resection, the
better the outcome. The severity of SBS symptoms is largely based on the type of small bowel
resection surgery that has been performed. Three distinct bowel resections are known to result in SBS:
jejuno ileal anastomosis, jejuno colic anastomosis, and end jejunostomy (3). The adverse symptoms
created by SBS vary based on the type of resection that has occurred, the phase of post resection in
which the patient is, and the extent of adaptation of the bowel that occurs.

Persuasive Essay On Camaros
Camaros have a great deal of horsepower and some great engines. By all the horsepower and big
engines you ll soon see that there s more to find in these cars. Camaros have started to show a lack of
interest in 1967 and by that forward these cars have shown improvement. Forward on, you ll start

Camaros of today. You ll see that these fascinating Camaros will catch you interest once you start
reading! The popular 1967 Camaro caught the interest of many people the year it came out. Of how
popular they were, these cars were built over 220,000 models that year. People enjoyed these cars and
just couldn t get over the idea that these cars were something else. Over the years the cars were
gaining more size and engines but especially lots of horsepower. People caught these new
improvements in the Camaros so they thought that these cars had a good price on them. The people
were right, the 1967 Camaro models were highly priced by the collectors. It was GM s powerful

Causes And Effects Of Anthropogenic Ecosystems
Anthropogenic activity has affected a large number of ecosystems in the world including the earth s
oceans. Atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been escalating since the rise of the
industrial revolution and are now at a far more prominent rate than previously experienced in the
Earth s history primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (Wood et al., 2008). The concentration of
CO2 in the Earth s atmosphere now surpasses 380 parts per million (ppm), which is more than 80 ppm
over the highest values of the past 740,000 years (Hoegh Guldberg et al., 2007). As a result, the
oceans have absorbed approximately 25% to 30% of the CO2 in the atmosphere acting as carbon sinks
and decreasing the rate of CO2 rise in the atmosphere, which has had a direct effect on the ocean s
chemistry (Logan, 2010). This results in the most prominent phenomena known as ocean acidification,
which worsens day to day as CO2 enters the oceans at a more noteworthy rate than ever before,
diminishing the ocean s natural buffering capacity and lowering the pH (Wood et al., 2008). This is
documented to have a significant threat to marine species. As CO2 enters the ocean and comes in
contact with the water, it reacts and changes the chemical properties of the ocean itself (Wood et al.,
2008). This process produces carbonic acid that breaks down into bicarbonate, carbonate, and
hydrogen ions that increase the acidity. The ocean s pH commonly ranges between 7.8 and 8.2, yet,
recent studies show that

The Indium Scan Test Essay examples
Who would have thought we would be using nuclear substances for medical purposes? Well, we are
many different ways. I am going to discuss a test called the Indium Scan; this test requires the use of
nuclear substances being injected into the blood stream via an IV. The amount of Indium that is giving
is based on the patient and what the doctor feels as appropriate.
What is Indium you may ask?
Indium is an element. It has a classification name of metal. Indium was named for the Indigo line of
spectrum and came from the Latin word indicum. There are 23 different types of Indium isotopes
however only two are natural. Indium is also found in zinc, iron and lead. Indium is used for many
reasons such as low melting point alloys, as well as many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First the patient s blood is drawn usually mixed with a small amount of substance called Indium 111
isotope, also known as tagging. This test requires around 50 mls of blood. In the second part of the test
they inject the cells back into the patient s body through a vein. This is not a contrast.
The next day the patient is asked to return for a series of images using a gamma camera. This is a full
body scan. This test is done by a nuclear medicine technician. This part usually last between 60 to 90
minutes, this is the final stage of the test. In the case of an infection or abscess the tagged cells will
clump to a specific area of the body usually the liver or spleen but also other organs as well.
The test has been known to be giving on children in the case of inflammatory bowel disease so the test
does not discriminate against age. There have not been enough studies in the case of children and the
Indium scan and the effects from it.
There are no restrictions or preparation to undergo this test and is painless except for the sharp feeling
from the needle however the patient is asked to remain still on the table as if not it may affect the
results. The table may be hard and cold, you will not be able to feel the radioactive substance enter
your blood stream. The patient may eat regularly as well as drink. The doctor may ask you to stop
taking any antibiotics if any prior to testing.
There are no known side effects of the test,

Antivirus programs and Internet security programs are useful in protecting a computer or
programmable device / system from malware.
Such programs are used to detect and usually eliminate viruses. Anti virus software can be purchased
or downloaded via the internet. Care should be taken in selecting anti virus software, as some
programs are not as effective as others in finding and eliminating viruses or malware. Also, when
downloading anti virus software from the Internet, one should be cautious as some websites say they
are providing protection from viruses with their software, but are really trying to install malware on
your computer by disguising it as something else.

Breitenfeld Battle Analysis
The small Saxon village of Breitenfeld has long since been absorbed by the city of Leipzig. There isn t
that much to see there. There is no tourism to speak of and even people in the area have only a vague
notion of the importance that their small town once held. In fact, in the fields to the east of the city
was fought a battle that probably decided the direction of European (and thus Western) Civilization.
The battle fought there was not just a clash of armies; it was a collision between religions, a testing
ground for new tactics and a stage for larger than life personalities. An afternoon in September,
1631was all it took for the world to take its present course. BACKGROUND One hundred years

As Pappenheim s defeated formations fell back, the rest of the Imperial cavalry attacked the Saxon
army holding Gustavus left flank. The inexperienced (but apparently well dressed) Saxon infantry,
which was formed into Tercios like their Catholic opponents were routed and fled the field in panic.
Over 3000 of them were cut down by pursuing cavalry. The rout of the Saxons was a massive problem
for Gustavus. This is where his adaptation of the linear formation saved him. In warfare such as this,
the flanks are everything. If your flank is turned then your army must flee in order to avoid
destruction. The Swedes, in their long lines of infantry, were able to pull their expose flank back faster
than the slow moving Imperial Tercios (which had, at this point, not been involved in the attacks) were
able to move around it. In modern terms, Adolphus refused his flank to the enemy. After securing his
battered left flank, Gustavus struck from his right with his cavalry and his well disciplined infantry. It
is worth mentioning the high level of training that the Swedish musketeers. They were trained to load
and fire at a much higher rate than other musketeers of the time. The Swedes were much more
dependent on firepower than other armies of the time and Gustavus attack tore the Imperial Tercios
apart with musket and cannon fire. Sometime after the Swedish counterattack, Gustavus infantry
captured most of the Catholic artillery pieces and because the Swedes were cross trained in other
disciplines, they were able to add the weight of the captured cannons to their own attack. This added
firepower was the last straw for the Catholic forces. They broke and ran for their lives. Thousands
were cut down or captured in the ensuing pursuit (Rickard, 2000). Gustavus Adolphus had his victory

Negative Impact Of Sacrifice In Society
Walking on the road to Jerusalem, The time had come to sacrifice again, My two small sons, they
walked beside me on the road, The reason that they came was to watch the lamb... Daddy, daddy,
What have we seen here?, There s so much that we don t understand, So I took them in my arms, And
we turned and faced the cross, Then I said dear children watch the lamb (Boltz n.p.). Did Jesus only
feel pain and anguish, or did he feel joy on the cross too?
Sacrifice is, an act of offering to a deity something precious; especially: the killing of a victim on an
altar (Merriam Webster n.p.). Along with its denotation, sacrifice is described as letting something go
that will benefit a greater cause because of a belief. Sacrifice helps make the world a better and more
viable place. The next generation is relying on this generation to make the world a better place, which
can only be done if time and talents are offered up. Often times the word sacrifice has a negative
impact, but is sacrifice what brought every human being into this world?
While religion and politics are controversial to America s society in this era, sacrifice is a way for
people to express themselves. Expressing ones self can be a hard task, and thoughts of judgment
always come to mind. Only one thing that can judge, and that is a greater being. Every human on the
planet earth stands for something like the cross symbolizes sacrifice for the life of Jesus Christ. Along
with biblical references, society recognizes

Discipline Models Of The Assertive Discipline Model
3. Using the discipline models presented in this chapter, which one or combination of models best fits
your personality and your own belief about discipline? Explain why this is so. I believe I would use a
combination of two discipline models, assertive and positive. I would utilize all five steps of the
assertive discipline model, yet modifying it a bit. Additionally,I would use certain aspects of Positive
Discipline Model.
Assertive Model
Step 1: Develop Positive Student Teacher Relationship
Step 2: Set Clear Rules and Expectations
Step 3: Monitor and Rack Inappropriate Behaviors
Step 4: Use Punishment When Rules Are Broken
Step 5: Use Rewards for Appropriate Behaviors
Step 5: Get The Parents on Side
I would also use positive model steps 1, checking frequently, especially at the beginning of the year,
that students know what is expected of them after setting clear rules and expectation. I would modify
the assertive model once again by using positive model step two, exploring between sets three and
four of the assertive model. I believe students learn from making independent decisions, some of
which may lead to mistakes. Mistakes can be a learning experience and are ok. I would also use
positive model step 4, celebrating student s positive actions and decisions between assertive model
steps 4 and 5. Positive reinforcement would be a reward system I would go to first and use most
frequently. Finally, I would adopt positive model step 5, respecting students. I

How Did Martin Luther King Jr And The American Dream
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Civil War was definitely not America s finest hour. From other places
in the world, we might have looked foolish, fighting against each other. In our perspective, it was not
foolish. We fought brother against brother, friend against friend, Father against son. War was the only
topic on our minds. But for what? The right to keep our laziness, against the right of freedom, already
established years and years ago? Thousands upon thousands of lives lost, because we were too good to
do our own housework? We fought as a union for the millions of lives lost before us, who were
captured, put in chains, and forced to be treated like animals. Racism was wild among the states, even
after the most awful war in American history ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King s story is one that America will never forget. His speeches were powerful. Enough so that he
moved a whole country. Forget mountains, this man was so amazing that he was able to move millions
of people s hearts. That is an incredible feat, and one that will go down in history as the day America
realized that all men ARE created equal. He united thousands upon thousands of people by showing
that he wasn t going to give up his freedom. He taught them peace and how to work together to
accomplish great things. We all have a role of living out the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,
whether in our home, school, or community. As Dr. King once said, Love is the only force capable of
transforming an enemy into friend. (wikipedia.com) Dr. King knew that if we only showed kindness
and love to everyone, there will be no hate and injustice. We may not know it, but we can play a big
part in fulfilling his dream. If you look around today, you can see that racism is not completely dead.
Although it has sufficiently died down, I don t think racism will be completely gone for a long time
and I am sure many others do too. But we can do our part, by simply not judging others on how they
look, their wealth, or their heritage, but by who they really are on the inside. Dr. King also taught that
we should not be putting people in groups, again because of how they look, their wealth, or their
heritage. We should not be the one to decide what they will do, where they will go, and what they will
say. No one has the power to completely take control over someone s thoughts, their words, or their
actions. And if you can t completely control them, what s the point in trying? Sadly, Dr. King has not
lived to see his dream become reality. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968.
He was fatally shot at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 39, by James Earl Ray.
Dr. King was on his way to dinner when a bullet struck him in the cheek. Instantly,

The Development And Analysis Of Microsatellite Dna Essay

THE DEVELOPMENT AND ANALYSIS OF MICROSATELLITE DNA
Summary
Due to the significant negative impact of the industrial activities on the habitat, many species have
become endangered. To conserve the species, a thorough investigation is needed. In this case, the
research is based on the study the interdependencies between the genotype and spatial dispersal of
populations.
Despite being endangered, turtles comprise rather specific object for such investigations, as well as
any other long lived organisms, because their reproduction cycles complicate the genetic
investigations using conventional methods. That is why the novel DNA markers, microsatellites, were
chosen for this research.
Although the microsatellites are very informative and universal, the overall cost for research is higher
than for RAPD and AFLP. This is mostly due to the cost of the fluorescent dye which is used in the
PCR. To eliminate this, I will apply an interesting technique which allows for incorporation of the dye
by the forward primer into the product of polymerization thus saving a considerable amount of the
dye.
Generally, I plan to base research on such steps:
Studying the populations of Apalone spinifera and Apalone mutica based on available data;
Taking samples of blood from the animals which are going to be caught by hand in their usual habitat.
The sampling will occur in the least possible harmful way;
Testing 12 pairs of primers initially developed for Apalone spinifera using the

  • 2. Is Hannibal Lecter s Integrity In The Film Silence Of The... The film Silence of the Lambs risks its integrity by banking heavily on the interactions between the two main actors to keep the viewer engaged;Though a lot is wagered in this move, much is gleaned as Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster both proved their worth bringing in countless awards for their performances. The film closely follows Clarice Starling, a budding FBI agent in training, as she follows the case of serial killer, Buffalo Bill. As opposed to most horror movies, there is not one sole villain; Hannibal Lecter is a sort of grey area character due to the fact that he is a psychotic, cannibalistic killer, but he in fact actually assists in the apprehension of Buffalo Bill. Though she is supposed to be working as part of a team, throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be seen by just glancing at the dvd case, as the Death s head Hawkmoth is actually constructed with 7 bodies; this makes quite a lot of sense since they could easily represent the 7 victims in this film. The moth, in its simplest interpretation, symbolizes change. This is so blatantly obvious that Lecter literally says The significance of the moth is change . That which is referred to with the theme of change is much less obvious however, as it could represent a number of the characters. I believe it most closely is to exemplify Clarice s journey from a woman trying to become recognized in the law enforcement world, to an FBI agent who, by her self, conquers her demons by silencing her lambs, by taking down serial killer, Buffalo Bill. Interesting that I would mention Lambs right? It s no coincidence. Lambs are beautiful, innocent and helpless, needing a caretaker for nurturing, impotent against the slaughterer. Clarice tried to intervene on their behalf, and failed. Because of this, she has always heard lambs screaming in the back of her mind. Enter this film, and Starling herself becomes the lamb, constantly the prey of men such as Lecter and Bill who seem just to be waiting to jump at the chance to slaughter her (one butchers his victims, while the other eats them). Ironically, it is Lecter, who we think of as the slaughterer, that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Resistance To Change Analysis assess during the change process, and also change direction if necessary. Strategies The organization must implement specific strategies to identify and resolve resistance to change. O Connor (1993) stated In an organization, resistance is opposition or witholding of support for specific plans or ideas. It can either be intentional or unintentional, covert or overt (p. 30). Employees will likely consider how change affects them personally and that may naturally cause some resistance. One of the most important things an organization can do to minimize resistance is to address these personal concerns. It is also important to identify any potential loss or gain that comes from implementing, or not implementing, the change initiative. Leaders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leaders have to give stakeholders the opportunity to properly digest information, and react to change, especially if it affects them directly. Understanding that a disruption may occur also provides the leaders with an opportunity to address issues and assess the need for training. Properly allocating an honest timeframe for all stages of the change process gives the organization an opportunity to set realistic goals. This means allowing for the training of employees that may require it to be successful in projected goals. Treating employees fairly and setting them up to be successful is not only good for them, but also for the productivity and possibility of success of the organization as a whole. During the assessment phase leaders must have an honest reflection of the entire process, considering the areas of both success and failure. Leaders must be fair in their assessment of the outcomes and be able to take responsibility for making decisions and the effects of those decisions (Stainer, 2004). Properly responding to ethical issues include the following: recognizing the issue, using ethical judgment in assessment of the issue, behaving ethically, and the moral intent (Jones, 1991; Rest, 1986). The organization must be transparent in identifying the problem and actively work to correct the issue. Because regulations and laws are in place to protect people from any ethical mistreatment, organizations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Descriptive Essay Christmas Christmas I sat awaiting all of my family members in the heat filled garage that would become much warmer as the night went on. It would be filled with loud laughter and cheering from my whole family. It would be smelling of grandma s ham she cooked and pretzel salad my mom makes every year. I m getting anxious as i hear a car pull up outside crunching on the black gravel. I rush to the window and see my cousins step out of the car, I rush to the door to greet them with a big smile on my face. It is our annual family Christmas party and my cousins one a year older than me and one younger rush to give me a big hug at the door. I haven t seen them in a couple of months and we have all missed each other. My Aunt and Uncle sneak two presents into the garage while my grandma and grandpa give my cousins hugs. Well hello there, come on in! shouts my grandma excitedly. She gives them all kisses on the cheek and then my cousins and I run upstairs to the kitchen, away from all the loud noise. We all have three big grins on our faces when my brother comes in from the living room. He also is smiling and takes ashton in to the garage to play with the legos. Meghan and I await the rest of our family in the kitchen window. More people start showing up and my little cousin Kearson arrives. The garage in full of all sorts of voices now, for most of my large family has arrived. Meghan and I rush down the stairs greeted my a strong little hug from our favorite cousin. Kearson! ... • 5. Communism And Fall Of Communism What is Communism ? Communism according to Cambridge dictionary can be defined as: the belief in a society without different social classes in which the methods of production are owned and controlled by all its members and everyone works as much as they can and receives what they need. . Communism is gotten from the Latin word communis common, universal. It s a financial and social framework in which all (or almost all) property and assets are altogether claimed by a raunchy society and not by individual residents. The goal is to make it a classless society, and there s less gap between the poor and the rich. Communism took place mainly in Russia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, North Korea and some Eastern European countries etc. The most familiar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... COMMUNISM IN BULGARIA: in spite of the fact that Bulgaria changed its union and proclaimed war on Nazi Germany on September 7, 1944 on September 9 a coup d état, sponsored by means of the Red Army troops, introduced another administration headed by the Fatherland Front, which might have been overwhelmed by the Bulgarian Communist Party. The People s Republic of Bulgaria (PRB) was the name of the Bulgaria socialist gathering that existed from 1946 to 1990, exactly when the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP) was governing together with the oppositional National Agrarian Party. The following two years were joined by cumbersome suppression of the non Communist resistance. This just expanded when it got to be obvious that the United States and United Kingdom had generally impartial themselves in Bulgaria. By September, a referendum was held in Bulgaria, in regards to whether to leave it as a monarch or it should become a republic. The majority of people voted for it to become a ... Throughout the years an evolution in the game has been witnessed; there has been new technologies introduced to the equipment, near death experiences, bias from various sports fields, and new implementation of rules to the game as the years progressed. The true satisfaction of not only being a hockey fan, but a soccer fanatic myself is watching teams come together, and strive to complete the objective in a proper healthy way; where violence is seen less as a necessity and more as a catalyst to bring the crowds to their feet with excitement and emotions. Ice hockey was founded around the 1880 s, and during its early stages people played the game outdoors, using equipment for warmth rather than protection. • 8. How Did Thucydides Contribute To The Peloponnesian War Thucydides, an Athenian who lived during the Peloponnesian War (431 404 BC), may be one of the earliest western war theorists thanks to his work, History of the Peloponnesian War. His history described the conflict between ancient Athens and Sparta. In doing so, he authored one of the most balanced and powerful explanations of the causes of war. Thucydides, linked to the Athenian aristocracy, enjoyed a wealthy upbringing and education as a youth. As an adult, he served as a commander for Athens. He witnessed a number speeches, debates, and events or heard them second hand that decided the many courses the war would take. This all bears out in the articulate, informed narrative of the war from tactical through strategic levels. Surprisingly, Thucydides maintained an objective perspective through much of his history. One assumes that as an Athenian, he would take a pro Athens approach. However, two reasons provide balance and significance to his work. First, following the loss ... Each power made strategic decisions in different ways. The Athenians set and adjusted the course of the war through open debate and voting while the Spartan oligarchy under a king cast the final decisions. Additionally, each state s economic nature affected their military character. The agrarian Sparta formed a dominant landpower while the seafaring Athenians cultivated a powerful navy. Further, though a small theater of operations compared to modern standards, time and space affected the course and nature of the war. • 9. The Theme Of Life In Dante s Inferno After reading Dante s Divine Comedy or Dante s Inferno by Dante Alighieri, it would appear that this is a story about a man describing how his exile is leading him towards hell. At the beginning of the story, Dante starts out by saying, In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself within a dark woods where the straight way was lost (page 27). The reader will assume that this story is about Dante explaining his views of hell separated into nine circles. Alighieri s writings gave context relating to his life from his exile to his beloved. The story Dante s Inferno is about a man s journey through hell. The main character, Dante, has just been exiled from his home and is now trying to find the right road. The significance of the beginning is the religious aspect of Dante s adventure of leaving to another realm. In my opinion, the straight way is through faith in God. The dark woods represents sins and fear in God. He was lost in sin and he sets out to look for God in a sinful world. The Guelph Ghibelline Wars was a struggle between the papacy and the holy roman empire. There was a split, which created two factions in the Guelphs. One was a white faction, which supported independence from the Pope. The other was the black, whose people were willing to work with the Pope. Alighieri was fighting with for white faction. Those against the Pope, including Dante, were exiled from the Italian Peninsula. Dante felt lost in the world and wanted to find confidence in God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Romeo And Juliet Forbidden Love Examine the theme of love in Romeo and Juliet. How does Shakespeare explore this theme? In William Shakespeare s play written in 1595, Romeo and Juliet explores the theme of love, as the two star crosses lovers who come from two different conflicting families that hate each other s guts, yet fate brings them together and despite the grudge that each family holds for the other. Young Romeo is seen though impulsive and immature, his idealism and passion make him an extremely likable character. He lives in the middle of a violent feud between his family and the Capulets, but he is not at all interested in violence. Meanwhile, Juliet appears to be just another teen girl infatuated with a young boy. Forbidden Love: As the feud between the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Montague is a good father and he asks Benvolio to discover Romeo s problem. Romeo, of course, is the victim of unrequited love. Lord Capulet also shows signs of being a good father. When Count Paris asks for Juliet s hand in marriage, Capulet displays his concern for his daughter by urging Paris to win her love. Juliet s happiness is important and he will not agree to marry her unless she is satisfied with the choice. He tells Paris in Act I, Scene 2, But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart; My will to her consent is but a part. And, she agreed, within her scope of choice lies my consent and fair according voice. Later, Capulet changes his mind. Even then, though, he is thinking of his family when he tries to bring a day of joy with a wedding after the death of Tybalt, Juliet s cousin. The Nurse, who must be considered a member of the Capulet family, is obviously very loving toward Juliet. In Act I, Scene 3, she talks about how she literally nursed the girl. She says, Thou wast the prettiest babe that e er I nursed. Conclusion: To conclude, Romeo and Juliet share a very loving relationship since their very strong friendship at the start. • 11. Challenges Facing New Markets, Multinational Corporations... Introduction When entering new markets, multinational corporations (MNCs) often form strategic alliances with local companies. An alliance is where two or more organisations integrate to form a strategic, business relationship (Finlay, 2000). The potential benefits of such alliances include access to knowledge and resources, building a global network, market access, recognition and access to a distribution network which can all provide MNCs with a competitive advantage in a foreign market. However, MNCs also face many challenges when forming alliances in other countries including loss of intellectual property, different expectations, various challenges of globalisation (e.g. more stringent regulations being imposed on foreign firms), ethical and cultural considerations and change management. This essay will focus on two of these challenges in depth change management and cultural adaptation. However within these sections, certain other topics will also be considered including leadership, innovation and diversity and globalisation. This essay will critically discuss and analyse these challenges drawing on real world examples, academic theory and additional research. It will also highlight and consider potential solutions to these challenges. Home Inequalities In Public Schools When the Home Hurts the Schooled: The Inequalities in Public School Education The education system in America is stained by racial and structural inequalities that cause those in lower income areas to not receive the necessary resources that enable a student to thrive. These benefits are as simple as certified teachers (Turner), maintained classrooms, and even accredited school districts. The common denominator in the lack of basic expectations is the type of funding public schools receive. The federal government gives about 10 percent of the money schools have to spend (Turner), while the state and mainly local dollars have to provide the rest. Buckley, validated the use of restrictive covenants, a legally enforceable contract imposed in a deed upon the buyer of property ( 1920s 1948: Racially Restrictive Covenants ). These covenants were typically used to permit the denial of ownership to a black family. Covenants, neighborhood groups, and other types of legislative or physical interference, froze efforts to integrate, forcing black families to live in inadequate housing conditions at absurdly high prices. After racially restrictive covenants and Federal Housing Administration practices were deemed racist and immoral, the damage was already done. Black families living in previously marked red zones could not afford to move out of their segregated and underdeveloped neighborhoods. The public schools in these districts suffered as well because of the decreasing values of the properties and the high concentration of low income residents. This activity causes sporadic electrical storms in the brain called seizures. During seizures, people experience unusual behavior and symptoms. There are two major types of epilepsy, idiopathic/cryptogenic, symptomatic. Both of these have different causes and affect the body and mind in particular ways. Idiopathic epilepsy is commonly associated with cryptogenic because they are very similar. However, there are some main differences between the two. • 14. Instagram Is A Negative Impact On The Youth Culture Demi Lovato stated People say sticks and stones may break your bones, but names can never hurt you, but that s not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven t forgotten. Given this point, I believe Instagram is a negative impact on the youth culture because it created virtual bullying and a disillusioned self image meaning lowering one s self esteem how someone s appearance supposed to be. Thus, I believe as a previous instagramer one shouldn t indulge in the social media world if they re not self confident or aware of their own self. Bullying begins inside the school because my beginning stages of being bullied began in the 4th grade. At that time, I attended a private school which was majority whites and I was the only little black girl in my class, we all knew each other since pre school but as we aged the one s I had as friends disappeared into their own group of peers, so I was left alone. Since, I felt like I wasn t fitting in and lost the friends I once had I decided to transfer over to a majority African American public school in the 6th grade which was actually worse than being alienated at the private school. My assumption on being around peers who were the same race was a mistake because although I felt alienated at my other school, once I transferred over in the 5th grade I literally transferred to a school from hell. Heroin And Other Opiate Abuse The purpose of this paper is to assess the issues that arise from heroin and other opiate abuse, how the US government is combating it, and what effects these policies have in Afghanistan, the world s supplier of opium. Heroin was invented in the 1895. ( Opium Throughout History ) It was a new concoction based on morphine, similar to the then popular laudanum, and was initially meant to be used as a cheaper medical substitute at the time. Heroin was never successfully brought into the medical fold, but was popular as a recreational drug almost immediately. Opiates, in one form or another, have been used for medical pain relief and recreationally since as early as 3400 BC. ( Opium throughout History ) Throughout the history of opium, control, regulation, trade, and addiction have been struggles for every society and civilization, starting with the Egyptians, hitting the Romans, the Chinese, and the Portuguese on the way, and continues to be a struggle in every modern society in the world. ( World Drug Report 2010 ) Throughout history the popularity of heroin has waxed and waned. Sometimes heroin was practically a non issue, other times, heroin has been one of the biggest struggles a society has faced. America today struggles with heroin like no other time in its history, in part because of the effects of addiction at home, and in part because of the significant profits it allows its handlers both at home and overseas. By collecting blood samples twice during the fourteen days of access, we established that this intake was often sufficient to raise BECs into the binge range ( 80mg/dl). This finding is inconsistent with prior literature, showing that SIP can be established with water only (Falk, 1961). Furthermore, in Experiment 2 where scheduled delivery was abolished, with animals receiving mass presentation of pellets at the onset of the intake session, high consumption levels were nevertheless maintained. It is possible that the lack of schedule dependency per se may have been associated with limitations in the number of test days due to the time constraints of adolescence. Indeed, SIP with an ethanol solution is typically established in adult rats over a period of many weeks in the operant chambers, during which the concentration of ethanol is gradually raised (Falk et al., 1972). In preliminary work, we established the 14 day (P28 41) intake period, noting that consumptions declined notably as animals transitioned out of the early mid adolescent period, an ontogenetic time course similar to what we have observed in home cage consumption studies (Vetter O Hagen et al., 2009). In Experiment 1b, animals given access to Boost® without ethanol consumed on average more than twice as much fluid (ml/kg) per intake session than their ethanol drinking counterparts in Experiment 1a. This is likely to be due to the high palatability of chocolate Boost ® for adolescent rats, which is diminished by the combination of the bitter/sweet taste properties of ... • 17. The Carolina Panthers Analysis After opening at 5.5 points, the Super Bowl line has settled at around 6.0 with the Carolina Panthers favored over the Denver Broncos. One would assume the Panthers are favored due in large part to its 15 1 regular season record and the manner with which it eliminated its playoff opponents Seattle 31 24 and Arizona 49 15. All things considered, it would be prudent to consider whether or not the Broncos are indeed as much of an underdog as the line indicates. One one hand, the Panthers are very flashy with its brash young QB in Cam Newton and high scoring offense. On the other side of the field, the Broncos are led by a strong defense and an aging QB, Peyton Manning, who is arguably one of the greatest football players in NFL history. To begin the analysis, everyone sans Carolina ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the season, he ran or passed for 4,473 yards while accounting for 45 TDs and only 10 interceptions. It was his ability to finally grasp a leadership role that led to the Panthers huge turn around from a 7 8 1 season recorded in 2014. Also, the Panthers have a defense that more than held its own, ranking sixth in the league in both scoring defense (193 PPG) and yards allowed at 322 YPG. With a marginal advantage on defense and a big deficit on offense, the 6 point line seems reasonable. However, the one intangible that can t be factored into the line is Manning s will to win. A man doesn t retire from the NFL as its leader in passing yards and TDs by accident. The Broncos might be an underdog, but gamblers should proceed with caution. It is estimated that the population of the wild yak in Qinghai, China has dropped from one 1 million to 75,000 in the past decade (Fang 38 39). These organizations have discovered that even with their efforts and the government s laws the fur trade will not stop until they try and cut off the demand for this fur. They ve realized that this is a very profitable industry so no matter how illegal or cruel it is, poachers will still try and make money. Therefore, if there is no demand and if they can make people realize that they do not need fur then the poachers will be forced to stop. The European Union and the United States have banned trade in seal fur products but yet those seals continue on the verge of extinction ( American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ). In today s world there are several options for couples who are wanting to begin or add to the number of members in their families, but have had difficulties in doing so. Aside from adoption, the possibilities for these couples include: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVI), and Surrogate Mother Arrangements. While these options may result in a pregnancy, they are not without risk and must be considered prayerfully, as they carry a moral and ethical weight. First, Intrauterine Insemination, also known as artificial insemination, is a process commonly used for unexplained infertility in which specially washed sperm is directly inserted into the uterus (Christianlifesources). Most clinics offer for the woman to remain lying down for a few minutes after the procedure, although it has not been shown to improve success. The sperm has been put above the vagina and cervix it will not leak out when you stand up (Advanced Fertilization). During the IUI procedure, Doctors place the sperm higher in the cervix than with Intracervical or ICI procedures, resulting in higher percentages of pregnancy. Doctors utilize IUI in situations where women experience problems with ovulation, mild cases of endometriosis, and cervical factor infertility (advanced fertility). Clients also benefit from IUI when male factor infertility is an issue, however, If the sperm count, motility and morphology scores are quite low, intrauterine insemination is unlikely to work (Advanced ... • 23. Causes And Effects Of Anthropogenic Ecosystems Anthropogenic activity has affected a large number of ecosystems in the world including the earth s oceans. Atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been escalating since the rise of the industrial revolution and are now at a far more prominent rate than previously experienced in the Earth s history primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (Wood et al., 2008). The concentration of CO2 in the Earth s atmosphere now surpasses 380 parts per million (ppm), which is more than 80 ppm over the highest values of the past 740,000 years (Hoegh Guldberg et al., 2007). As a result, the oceans have absorbed approximately 25% to 30% of the CO2 in the atmosphere acting as carbon sinks and decreasing the rate of CO2 rise in the atmosphere, which has had a direct effect on the ocean s chemistry (Logan, 2010). This results in the most prominent phenomena known as ocean acidification, which worsens day to day as CO2 enters the oceans at a more noteworthy rate than ever before, diminishing the ocean s natural buffering capacity and lowering the pH (Wood et al., 2008). This is documented to have a significant threat to marine species. As CO2 enters the ocean and comes in contact with the water, it reacts and changes the chemical properties of the ocean itself (Wood et al., 2008). This process produces carbonic acid that breaks down into bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydrogen ions that increase the acidity. The ocean s pH commonly ranges between 7.8 and 8.2, yet, recent studies show that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact, in the fields to the east of the city was fought a battle that probably decided the direction of European (and thus Western) Civilization. The battle fought there was not just a clash of armies; it was a collision between religions, a testing ground for new tactics and a stage for larger than life personalities. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Pappenheim s defeated formations fell back, the rest of the Imperial cavalry attacked the Saxon army holding Gustavus left flank. The inexperienced (but apparently well dressed) Saxon infantry, which was formed into Tercios like their Catholic opponents were routed and fled the field in panic. Over 3000 of them were cut down by pursuing cavalry. The rout of the Saxons was a massive problem for Gustavus. This is where his adaptation of the linear formation saved him. In warfare such as this, the flanks are everything. If your flank is turned then your army must flee in order to avoid destruction. The Swedes, in their long lines of infantry, were able to pull their expose flank back faster than the slow moving Imperial Tercios (which had, at this point, not been involved in the attacks) were able to move around it. In modern terms, Adolphus refused his flank to the enemy. After securing his battered left flank, Gustavus struck from his right with his cavalry and his well disciplined infantry. It is worth mentioning the high level of training that the Swedish musketeers. They were trained to load and fire at a much higher rate than other musketeers of the time. The Swedes were much more dependent on firepower than other armies of the time and Gustavus attack tore the Imperial Tercios apart with musket and cannon fire. Sometime after the Swedish counterattack, Gustavus infantry captured most of the Catholic artillery pieces and because the Swedes were cross trained in other disciplines, they were able to add the weight of the captured cannons to their own attack. The right to keep our laziness, against the right of freedom, already established years and years ago? Thousands upon thousands of lives lost, because we were too good to do our own housework? We fought as a union for the millions of lives lost before us, who were captured, put in chains, and forced to be treated like animals. He united thousands upon thousands of people by showing that he wasn t going to give up his freedom. He taught them peace and how to work together to accomplish great things. We all have a role of living out the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whether in our home, school, or community. As Dr. King once said, Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend. (wikipedia.com) Dr. King knew that if we only showed kindness and love to everyone, there will be no hate and injustice. We may not know it, but we can play a big part in fulfilling his dream. If you look around today, you can see that racism is not completely dead. Although it has sufficiently died down, I don t think racism will be completely gone for a long time and I am sure many others do too. But we can do our part, by simply not judging others on how they look, their wealth, or their heritage, but by who they really are on the inside. Dr. King also taught that we should not be putting people in groups, again because of how they look, their wealth, or their heritage. We should not be the one to decide what they will do, where they will go, and what they will say. No one has the power to completely take control over someone s thoughts, their words, or their actions. And if you can t completely control them, what s the point in trying? Sadly, Dr. King has not lived to see his dream become reality. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. To conserve the species, a thorough investigation is needed. In this case, the research is based on the study the interdependencies between the genotype and spatial dispersal of populations. Despite being endangered, turtles comprise rather specific object for such investigations, as well as any other long lived organisms, because their reproduction cycles complicate the genetic investigations using conventional methods. That is why the novel DNA markers, microsatellites, were chosen for this research. Although the microsatellites are very informative and universal, the overall cost for research is higher than for RAPD and AFLP. This is mostly due to the cost of the fluorescent dye which is used in the PCR. To eliminate this, I will apply an interesting technique which allows for incorporation of the dye by the forward primer into the product of polymerization thus saving a considerable amount of the dye. Generally, I plan to base research on such steps: Studying the populations of Apalone spinifera and Apalone mutica based on available data; Taking samples of blood from the animals which are going to be caught by hand in their usual habitat.
