Summary Of Song Of A Citizen
The purpose of this assignment was to reflect on the poem Song of a Citizen using critical analysis to
understand the complete meaning of what Milosz has written within the text. The poem Song of a
Citizen is an illuminating reflection on the abominable conditions of the Jewish people and the
suffering they have endured wrapped into a piece on how a prisoner is separated from the natural
world, connected by Milosz s incredible writing ability.
The poem Song of a Citizen is an open book that allows the reader a deep view into the inner
character of its speaker. Firstly, we see many of the speaker s views reflected in the poem s numerous
verses. For example, in verse 9, he says that it is better to be a live dog than a dead lion , which shows
how he has felt and acted in this perilous situation. This could even be taken so far as to say that,
because of the horrors he faced during the war, the speaker feels that it is better to be living than even
to die a courageous death. Additionally, another revealing verse was from 20 25, which symbolized
his continuing relationship with the world. He mentions a copper leaved garden , which can be seen as
a parallel to fall or winter trees, as well as a heart of metal , which could describe the heart of
manufacturing combined with nature. This shows the speaker s character as we see how he connects
nature to freedom and beauty, running a parallel to countless prisoners and captives(including the
Jews) who were separated from nature

Romania s Post Communism Accounting Practices and The Effects of Adapting IFRS for SMEs
Abstract Romania, located in southeastern European, was heavily influenced by the Russian Soviet
Union as a socialist republic between 1947 and 1989. With becoming a capitalist country in 1989, its
accounting practices began its transformation. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Romania
accounting practices post its revolution. The paper discusses three major accounting practice
conversions made in Romania post communism. Included in this paper are comparisons of previous
practices and the implications presented within each practice; along with the pros and cons and many

Romania adaption of a French Accounting System was based on a close relationship based on similar
economic and social environments. During this time, the French Accounting System was limited and
based solely on converting from a cash basis of accounting to an accrual basis. By 1996, Romania s
rapid economic improvements had surpassed that of the simplicity presented in its current French
accounting system and began to transform. Anglo Saxon Accounting Approach Beginning in 1996,
Romania joined the Accounting Systems Development Program. The program created by the British
government, provided assistance to the Romanian Ministry of Finance through consulting services. In
joining the program Romania was required to meet certain conditions. Albu et al. s (2011) reports
describes the conditions as followed: The funding came with several conditions: the application of
International Financial Standards (IFS) by several large companies; the requirement to be audited
against IFS and International Standards of Auditing; the requirement for the Ministry of Finance to
issue guidance for the implementation of IAS; and the creation of the institution responsible for the
activity of financial auditing (p.159). In 1999, Romania s involvement in this program resulted in the
harmonization of European Derivatives with an IAS influence, making up the Anglo Saxon
accounting approach. In the study of Deaconu and Buiga

Women s Sport Coverage
Women s Sport Coverage is Decreasing We are the best in the world, have three World Cup
championships, four Olympic championships, and the men get paid more to just show up compared to
how much we get paid to win major championships, says Hope Solo (American Goalkeeper). In the
1920 s the issue of broadcasting, promoting, and displaying women s sport equal to men was brought
about. Gertrude Ederle, a competitive american swimmer in 1926 became the first woman to swim the
English Channel, while also breaking the male record. She is just one of the examples of how women
s sport has proven to be just as successful as men s. However since then much has changed revolving
around equality in men and women sports. There has always been lacking ... Show more content on

Women sacrifice as much as men, for example after giving birth they make impressive efforts to come
back to competitive levels while men have not been said to make any of these such efforts. This leads
to another point on how women actually have the ability to do things most men can t. For example,
men don t have the proper body types to perform in figure skating, synchronized swimming, or
gymnastics like women can. The competitiveness is the same. The quality and skill levels are the
same. Different, of course, but not inferior in any way (Ottoway). Even if a female was better than a
male at a certain sport they would still be treated as inferior. For example a female hockey player,
Rachel Fradette states, even if I was a better athlete than the male hockey players, my team still got
the worse ice time and treated as almost a joke when we practiced...women not only have to fight for
their stance, but they also have to be the absolute best at their craft (Fradette). When girls get treated
this way they then start to lose the love of the sport which leads to less and less role models and less
successful female athletes. These female athlete role models are important for future generations as
girls decide to also become athletes they want someone to look up to and learn from and realize to not
give up even if they are treated

Nancy Ward s Influence On Cherokee Indians
Nanye hi, or Nancy Ward as she was most common known, was a Cherokee Indian. She was a very
determined and respected women. She was born into a powerful family in the Wolf clan, who lived in
the hills of what today is Eastern Tennessee. Growing up Nancy Ward was greatly affected by the
constant conflict with European settlers and with enemy tribes. This violent impact influenced the
strong willed Nancy Ward to become a significant mediator between the native tribes and European

Nancy Ward fought by her husband s side. Many sources say she would chew the lead bullets for his
rifle to make them more pointed and deadly on the enemies. When the Creeks killed Ward s husband
she picked up his rifle and led a charge that brought victory to the Cherokees. Due to her actions

Nancy Ward immediately left the council and saved Lydia Bean, a prisoner who some warriors had

to return home. Bean taught Nancy Ward how to make butter and cheese. This led Nancy Ward to buy

Acroangiodermatitis is a rare vasoproliferative disorderof cutaneous blood vessels.2, 5It is a benign,
exaggerated form of stasis dermatitis, and begins as violaceous macules and patches. They develop
into nodules or indurated plaques over time, usually bilaterally on the extensor surfaces of lower

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Laparoscopy
Laparoscopic surgery is one of the most commonly used modality in surgical technique, being
performed 7.5 million surgeries annually worldwide.
It is an alternative technique for carrying out many operations that have traditionally required an open
approach. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery performed though small incisions. It presents
benefits, compared with traditional open surgeries, including shorten recovery times; lower
postoperative morbidity; allow patients to return to work and regular activities faster; and produce
better cosmetic results. Laparoscopic procedure starts with small incisions kept open with trocars.

Generally divided into running and interrupted closures. Running sutures have the advantage of speed,
since knots need only be tied at two or three points. And comparing to interrupted sutures, the helical
nature of running stitch evenly distributes tension along the entire wound and allows for superior
perfusion. However, if one is insecurely tied, or breaks, the whole incision will not come apart. If tied
only tightly enough to approximate the tissue, but loosely enough to permit adequate perfusion of the
fascia within the suture, such sutures can provide a secure closure without necrosis. There is, however,
an inherent tendency to pull forcefully on these sutures as they are being tied. This is unquestionably
the reverse of what is best. If interrupted sutures are not done properly, they can be a greater
impediment to a strong closure than a running suture that produces inherently less

What Is Amelia Earhart Role Model
Amelia Earhart had an outstanding career that led her to becoming a role model for woman
everywhere because she was the first women aviator to break records and gender barriers. Amelia
accomplished goals that no one has ever done. As a woman, breaking all the records that she did
shows that women can be just as strong and brave as men. It shows that if someone puts his/her mind
to something they can accomplish it. Throughout her life she worked very hard to succeed in being a
famous pilot. Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Kansas. In 1904, with the help of her uncle, she
built a home made ramp inspired by a roller coaster she has seen on a trip to St. Louis and secured the
ramp to the roof of the family toolshed. Earhart s first flight didn t end so well. She flew from the
broken wooden box that had served the sled with a bruised lip, torn dress and a sensation of
exhilaration . She exclaimed, Oh, Pidge, it s just like flying! (Bio. 230). Awhile after in 1920, the

Grime has gigantic potential, both commercially and artistically. But it s always failed to live up to
expectations, and violence is partly to blame. Most promoters now find it impossible to put on grime
in clubs, because grime nights have been unofficially outlawed by the police.
Deja Vu FM, Rinse FM, Flex FM, Freeze FM, Axe FM were some of the first radio stations illegally

What Is Betting In The Bible
The Bible contain examples of betting: Samson s wager in Judges 14:12 and the warriors that were
betting over Jesus pieces of clothing in Mark 15:24. In neither one of the cases is betting exhibited in a
decent light. The Bible likewise says the throwing of parcels with the end goal of choice making
(Joshua 18:10; Nehemiah 10:34). What s more, Proverbs 16:33 accentuates the power of God: The
part is thrown into the lap, however its each choice is from the LORD. But the scriptural reason for
making bets was not to test one s fortunes or to increase material riches. The primary motivation
behind playing the lottery is to win cash, and the Bible lets us know what our state of mind toward
cash ought to be. So frequently, wealth impede a man s otherworldly advantage (Mark 4:19; 10:25).
Jesus educates, Nobody can serve two experts. It is possible that you will detest the one and affection
the other, or you will be given to the one and disdain the other. You can t serve both God and cash
(Luke 16:13). Initially Timothy 6:10 is the place we locate the popular cautioning that the adoration

The Characters Of Coraline And Harry Potter
Literary heroes that are also ordinary children are engaging to readers, particularly child readers.
James Pope and Julia Round write that Roald Dahl is a fascinating author in that his books for
children feature child heroes who are very often neither hero nor villain, but a wild, subversive
combination of both (258). These characteristics are also true of Coraline and Harry Potter, as they are
presented as imperfect, but ultimately find the power within themselves to save what is important to
them. Children readers are empowered by Coraline and Harry because they identify with these
ordinary children and feel as if they can also make a difference in their lives, as the characters defeat
the evil in theirs. Children are more likely to engage with characters they identify with, but when a
character is also a hero, children feel as if they themselves have the power to take agency in their own
lives. Coraline is a representation of any child that is easily bored and seeks adventure, but she also
displays bravery and heroism. Coraline s greatest strength is her imagination, which she uses to her
advantage. Most children have active imaginations as she does, and this quality that they have in
common will result in children identifying with Coraline and believing they are just as capable of
surmounting obstacles as she is. Coraline is also not perfect, and although many children like to
pretend they are perfect, they know they are not. When she loses the marble containing

Bunkering In Nigeria Essay
The Political Economy Of Illegal Bunkering In Nigeria
By
Kòmbò Mason Braide (PhD)
Port Harcourt, Nigeria
Demonise Diabolise:
The Niger Delta has been a source of illicit international business deals (like the trans Atlantic slave
trade), as far back as the 15th century. Today a new form of syndicated criminal proclivity is
threatening the very foundations of Nigeria s petroleum industry, and by extension, the Nigerian
economy, as well as putting tremendous pressure on Chief (General) Olusegun Obasanjo. That
problem is the illegal bunkering of crude oil and/or its derivatives.
The term bunkering , (whether legal or illegal) has been thoroughly abused, demonised, and misused
in Nigerian parlance, so much so that the mere ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the criminalisation of bunkering operations, the unstable, inadequate, and unreliable
domestic refining capacity, and a miasma of simplistically conceived national energy policies, among
several other reasons, account for this unique anomaly in Nigeria. Actually, ships prefer not to come to
Nigeria and bunker because of the high port charges, related miscellaneous illegalities, called levies ,
and official extortions like mandatory but illegal military task force approvals .
The Origins Of A Dysfunction:
Before 1973, petroleum products pricing was not uniform in Nigeria. The retail prices of petroleum
products were dependent on the point of sale, relative to the only primary distribution depot then, at
the Shell BP Refinery, Alesa Eleme, near Okrika, near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In October 1973, the military dictatorship of General Yakubu Gowon decreed uniform pricing of
refined petroleum products for the Nigerian market. Subsequently, the Petroleum Equalisation Fund
(PEF) Decree No. 9 of 1975 was promulgated. To date, it provides for the uniform pricing of all

Many look at Jazz Musician Ray Chaeles as being the Father of Soul , as he virtually created Soul
music. By bring together the genera s of gospel, blues, country, and jazz, Charles was able to create a

his two parents. Charles had witnessed the droning death of his younger brother, which had left him

Proximate Analysis Of The Coal The Moisture Content Essay
Proximate Analysis In proximate analysis of the coal the moisture content, ash, the volatile matter, and
the fixed carbon in the coal sample is determined. It is the most common simplest form of coal
evaluation. Moisture Moisture occurs in Various forms Within the Coal: Surface or Free Moisture: the
moisture produced on the surface of coal particles Or Inherent Moisture: the moisture produced by
capillary action within the pores of coal. Decomposition Moisture: the moisture produced from the
thermal decomposition of organic constituents of coal. Mineral moisture: the moisture which
comprises part of hydrous silicates such as clays and inorganic materials in coal. There a re different
tests to determine the moisture content of coal. In proximate analysis of moisture the total or residual
moisture content of coal is determined. The total moisture content includes the surface and inherent
moisture and is reported as mass percentage of coal on received basis. Residual moisture determines
the moisture content of an air dried sample of coal. The determination of moisture depends on the
extent of sample preparation and the condition of the coal sample. The whole procedure for
determining the total moisture in coal, begins after collecting the gross sample, begins with preparing
the sample for analysis. If the sample is sufficiently dry, it can be reduced immediately and then air
dried. If the sample is too wet that it

Ancient Greek History And The History Of Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece
The ancient Greeks were unique and had a one of a kind culture which would heavily influence the
Western world. Their literature would bring forth works that intertwined religious, philosophical,
mythological, and political attributes all in one. From the Bronze Age to the Dark Age, the ancient
Greeks would be innovators for practices we have become accustomed to, such as philosophy,
democracy, literature and theatricals. During this time, most that had been illuminated had been lost in
the Dark Ages, yet thanks to Homer, a Greek writer, some of Greeks lost age was recorded and
survived centuries to come. (Damrosch 186) Little is known about the beginning of Greek civilization;
however, Ancient Greece can be traced back to earlier cultures of the Minoans and Myceneans. (Betts)
The Minoans thrived on the island of Crete around 2000 BC. They developed a writing system called
Linear A, which the Myceneans would later adapt to develop the Linear B writing system. (Mark)
According to geological evidence, it is thought that the Minoan civilization fell due to overuse of land,
yet conventionally, history acknowledges that the Myceneans conquered the Minoans. (Mark) The
Myceneans prospered as well and were greatly influenced by the Minoan civilization, especially
establishing the same religious rites and what would later be known as the pantheon of Ancient
Greece. Although archeological evidence isn t clear as to what wiped out and destroyed the Mycenean

Essay about Ibn Battuta
Ibn Battuta s remarks of his travels say a great deal about his own culture and norms. Almost every
place he travels to he brings up women and how they are treated, as well as what their status is in that
society. He is also very amused with the décor of the buildings in terms of gold and silver decorations.
It seems as though he does not come from a wealthy society or his family is not on the wealthy status
level. Battuta also seems to bring up the cleanliness of each area he travels to. Ibn Battuta s travels to
Africa showed a lot about how he was brought up and also about his culture. He describes the
occupants of the town of Zayla as negro people and when he arrives in the town of Kulwa he describes
the Zanj people as jet black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sultan soon passes away and the reign is taken over by his brother who is the polar opposite of
the former ruler. I feel as though this is hearsay and not a direct observation since a mere traveler
wouldn t have such close encounters.
While traveling to India, Battuta notes the inaccessible mountains that are inhabited by Hindu infidels
but are mostly under Muslim rule. The others seem to be rebels who seem to be outcasts that may
have been banished possibly by the Muslims. Again Battuta brings up a woman who he observes
richly dressed followed by both Muslims and infidels. These men accompanying her were the chiefs
of the Hindus. He seems to be surprised with women having any kind of social status or wealth.
Battuta finds one of their death rituals interesting and seems very intrigued by this practice. The
practice involves the burning of a wife after her husband dies. After the widow burns herself, the
widow s family does gain a certain stature and does gain a reputation for fidelity. However, a widow
that does not perform this practice must dress in crude garments and must live with her own people in
misery and is despised for her lack of fidelity. Battuta also is interested in another death practice that
involves the Indians. This is the practice of drowning themselves in the River Ganges. After they die,
the body is burned and the ashes are taken into the river.
Battuta doesn t seem to agree with the King s eagerness to kill. He makes it a point to explain

The Movie The Box
The Game
The box itself paints itself as the front of a horror book from the 80s or 90s, with a low angle shot of
an old house that is backlit by creepy green fog, and a full moon peers through the clouds. This game
is meant to be horror, and the players are supposed to know exactly that going in.
Like a group of dumb kids who go into the abandoned house on their street, when setting up, each
player finds themselves playing the role of one of 12 different people standing inside of the foyer a
decrepit old mansion (presumably on a hill). The players then have the task of exploring said creepy
mansion, uncovering tiles and finding items or events that happen in each of the rooms. The characters
gain and lose some of their stats based on these events and items, allowing them to either become
more powerful than they were initially upon entering the house, or it may end up killing their
character if any of the stats reach zero. The other possible things a player might find when looking
around the house are omens. These are like events, but the player has make a haunt roll that gets
harder for each omen that gets uncovered. If the player fails the haunt roll, the second phase of the
game begins.
The second phase incorporates the betrayal part of the name. The rules of the game select one of the
players to be the traitor, based on what omen was drawn, and where. The player that was selected by

Chinese Migration
In the year of 2017, Canada will be celebrating 132 years since the completion of the CPR, the
Canadian Pacific Railway. The completion of the transcontinental railway was critical for the survival
of the newly formed country of Canada. It finally unified the country from coast to coast,
economically, and physically linking the wide set of land together. However, even though the building
of the railroad was a dangerous and a long construction, it created employment for thousands of
Chinese workers. The Heritage Minute: Nitro presents the story of an old man telling his

Many citizens of Canada believed that the Chinese had come to take away their jobs, urging on great
amount of racism. The Prime Minister of Canada at the time, John A. Macdonald, insisted on the
recruitment of the Chinese workers in the interest of reducing costs. The Chinese workers were paid
one fifth to one half of the salaries Canadian workers received. Not only did they provide cheap labour
for their employers, but would also do the jobs Canadians would not. Just as shown in the Heritage
Minute, the Chinese workers were used to blow up rock with the explosive nitroglycerin. As
mentioned in the Heritage Minute, it is said that for every mile of the railway, one Chinese worker
died. Some argue that it is more accurate to say that for every mile of the railway, four Chinese
workers died. However, the Chinese workers brought more to the production of the CPR than just
cheap labour; they brought with them their knowledge and experience, proving to be skilled

Cassie and I have conducted an experiment for our Probs and Stats project. We did and experiment to
see if listening to music during a test affect your scores. This experiment is relative by most of the
students in Alpena High listen to music. As a result of this experiment we were hoping that listening to
either classical or rap improves test scores.
Our population size is the students at Alpena High. Therefore, narrowing it down to AP classes in the
morning as our sample size. In this experiment we had four variables, which is advance students
(categorical), time of day (categorical), type of music (categorical) and our time interval of one minute
(quantitative). As a result of our variables a T test would be best because, we won t know the
population deviation. On the other hand, our randomization issue we decided to have a different test
for each class, as well as each day (3 days). Then each day we rotated classical, rap and no music in

Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay
Introduction
Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes related to the
pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within 42 days after pregnancy
termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013; Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al.,
2014). There are proposals to change this definition to make it include one year post partum death of
mothers, as the risk of death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans et al.,
2006). Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries. In the year
2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most occurred in these developing
countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of the outcomes that have been targeted in the
efforts to improve maternal health for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Say et al., 2014).
In developing countries, especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels remain high, maternal
deaths have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction (Requejo et al., 2013). Many
argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and quantify this problem, but
Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is sufficient.
The social issues
The causes of maternal deaths are both direct and indirect. Majorly, the causes of maternal death are
usually the aftermath of childbirth and pregnancy, and are majorly contributed to by diseases and

The Resilience Of Nature By Sara Teasdale And Carl...
The Resilience of Nature The outcome of engaging in war brings about inevitable consequences and
atrocities that ultimately become part of humanities history. With the battles of war leaving such
destruction in its wake one would think that there would remain visible and noticeable scars upon the
landscape. However, nature and time have the ability to erase all the evidence and devastation that war
can leave behind. The many non human life forms that exist in nature are unaware and undeterred
from their purpose and routine within the environment. Even if humans destroy themselves to the
point of non existence nature will continue to flourish. Although Sara Teasdale and Carl Sandberg
have each chosen the topic of war within their poems and both have used nature to convey their
opinions about humanity; the mechanics used to write each poem are different. Each poet chooses the
theme of nature s generative abilities to portray man s disillusion about what war truly has a lasting
effect on. Each author s poem reads as a metaphorical opinion about war and the existence of humans
within the natural environment; as well as the physical history of war that is left behind. Sara Teasdale
and Carl Sandberg also both seem to agree that the damages and carnage of war have no permanency
on nature s ability to carry on in spite of human atrocities. Both poems also highlight nature s physical
capabilities to dispose of the bodies left behind and ignore what was torn apart as a result of

Essay On Branches Of Government
In grade school, children are taught that there are only three branches of government: the Judiciary,
Legislative, and Executive branch. All three branches serve with equal power and each branch has the
right to check and balance the other branches in order to keep every branch from being too over
powered. The Supreme Court rules the Judiciary branch while the President rules over the Executive
branch, and while Congress rules over the Legislative branch. What if the textbooks and lessons were
wrong? Could there be a fourth branch of government? Yes and no. Mass media has made its way into
controversy and is being categorized as a branch of government. The branches of government serve to

Without mass media, none of this would have been made possible. The nation is changing

Evaluation Of A New Hybrid Strategy
Abstract
Testing is an important process in software development and widely used by developers to reveal
bugs. Often, software failures can lead to disastrous consequences such as loss of data, fortune and
lives. Test engineers have generated a set of test cases to validate against the user requirements. The
highest number of reduction can save a cost of testing. When dealing with a large line of code (LOCs)
there still has redundancy happened. Our experiment studies about hybrid tReduct GNA_SA and the
existing strategies to counter test redundancy reduction issues. In our experiment, we apply four
(tReductLAHC, tReductSA, tReductGNA and tReduct GNA_SA) test suite reduction strategies for six
different situation. After that, we then measure the effectiveness of the diversified solutions of four
test suite reduction strategies. Our experiment shows that a new hybrid strategy tReduct GNA_SA
offers more effectiveness to reduce redundancy compared to existing work.

Dual Tasking And Cognitive Tasks
Dual tasking is the simultaneous execution of two tasks, (McArdle, 2015) these tasks include two
elementary cognitive tasks (ECT), or secondary tasks. ECTs are basic tasks which require a small
number of mental processes (Caroll, 1993.) Dual tasking is the combination of two ECTs. Main
cognitive functions, utilised in ECTs, are affected during the process of dual tasking specifically in
executive function and attention. Executive function includes complex mental processes such as:
problem solving, planning and dual tasking as shown in a study by Zelazo (2002.) Attention includes
mental processes such as the ability to concentrate on people; actions, objects and restraint from
impulsive actions. This cognitive function, along with executive ... Show more content on

This refers to focusing on one task until it is completed, rather than sharing attention to another task
and simultaneously trying to complete both (Jayne, 2006.) Patients inflicted with PD, which are
subject to dual task conditions, are seen with an increase in festinating steps and a worsened state of
bradykinesia. In other words; an increased amount of shuffling steps and a slower pace of gait (Brauer,
et al. 2011.) Furthermore, patients with the disorder whilst dual tasking demonstrate: increased
variability in step length and width, leading to asymmetry in gait, and frequent motor blocks compared
to walking alone (Yogev, Plotnik, Peretz, Giladi, Hausdorff, 2007; Spildooren, et al. 2010; Bloem,

  • 2. Summary Of Song Of A Citizen The purpose of this assignment was to reflect on the poem Song of a Citizen using critical analysis to understand the complete meaning of what Milosz has written within the text. The poem Song of a Citizen is an illuminating reflection on the abominable conditions of the Jewish people and the suffering they have endured wrapped into a piece on how a prisoner is separated from the natural world, connected by Milosz s incredible writing ability. The poem Song of a Citizen is an open book that allows the reader a deep view into the inner character of its speaker. Firstly, we see many of the speaker s views reflected in the poem s numerous verses. For example, in verse 9, he says that it is better to be a live dog than a dead lion , which shows how he has felt and acted in this perilous situation. This could even be taken so far as to say that, because of the horrors he faced during the war, the speaker feels that it is better to be living than even to die a courageous death. Additionally, another revealing verse was from 20 25, which symbolized his continuing relationship with the world. He mentions a copper leaved garden , which can be seen as a parallel to fall or winter trees, as well as a heart of metal , which could describe the heart of manufacturing combined with nature. This shows the speaker s character as we see how he connects nature to freedom and beauty, running a parallel to countless prisoners and captives(including the Jews) who were separated from nature ... During this time, the French Accounting System was limited and based solely on converting from a cash basis of accounting to an accrual basis. By 1996, Romania s rapid economic improvements had surpassed that of the simplicity presented in its current French accounting system and began to transform. Anglo Saxon Accounting Approach Beginning in 1996, Romania joined the Accounting Systems Development Program. The program created by the British government, provided assistance to the Romanian Ministry of Finance through consulting services. In joining the program Romania was required to meet certain conditions. Albu et al. s (2011) reports describes the conditions as followed: The funding came with several conditions: the application of International Financial Standards (IFS) by several large companies; the requirement to be audited against IFS and International Standards of Auditing; the requirement for the Ministry of Finance to issue guidance for the implementation of IAS; and the creation of the institution responsible for the activity of financial auditing (p.159). In 1999, Romania s involvement in this program resulted in the harmonization of European Derivatives with an IAS influence, making up the Anglo Saxon accounting approach. Women s Sport Coverage Women s Sport Coverage is Decreasing We are the best in the world, have three World Cup championships, four Olympic championships, and the men get paid more to just show up compared to how much we get paid to win major championships, says Hope Solo (American Goalkeeper). In the 1920 s the issue of broadcasting, promoting, and displaying women s sport equal to men was brought about. Gertrude Ederle, a competitive american swimmer in 1926 became the first woman to swim the English Channel, while also breaking the male record. She is just one of the examples of how women s sport has proven to be just as successful as men s. However since then much has changed revolving around equality in men and women sports. There has always been lacking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women sacrifice as much as men, for example after giving birth they make impressive efforts to come back to competitive levels while men have not been said to make any of these such efforts. This leads to another point on how women actually have the ability to do things most men can t. For example, men don t have the proper body types to perform in figure skating, synchronized swimming, or gymnastics like women can. The competitiveness is the same. The quality and skill levels are the same. Different, of course, but not inferior in any way (Ottoway). Even if a female was better than a male at a certain sport they would still be treated as inferior. For example a female hockey player, Rachel Fradette states, even if I was a better athlete than the male hockey players, my team still got the worse ice time and treated as almost a joke when we practiced...women not only have to fight for their stance, but they also have to be the absolute best at their craft (Fradette). When girls get treated this way they then start to lose the love of the sport which leads to less and less role models and less successful female athletes. These female athlete role models are important for future generations as girls decide to also become athletes they want someone to look up to and learn from and realize to not give up even if they are treated ... And comparing to interrupted sutures, the helical nature of running stitch evenly distributes tension along the entire wound and allows for superior perfusion. However, if one is insecurely tied, or breaks, the whole incision will not come apart. If tied only tightly enough to approximate the tissue, but loosely enough to permit adequate perfusion of the fascia within the suture, such sutures can provide a secure closure without necrosis. There is, however, an inherent tendency to pull forcefully on these sutures as they are being tied. This is unquestionably the reverse of what is best. What Is Amelia Earhart Role Model Amelia Earhart had an outstanding career that led her to becoming a role model for woman everywhere because she was the first women aviator to break records and gender barriers. Amelia accomplished goals that no one has ever done. As a woman, breaking all the records that she did shows that women can be just as strong and brave as men. James Pope and Julia Round write that Roald Dahl is a fascinating author in that his books for children feature child heroes who are very often neither hero nor villain, but a wild, subversive combination of both (258). These characteristics are also true of Coraline and Harry Potter, as they are presented as imperfect, but ultimately find the power within themselves to save what is important to them. Children readers are empowered by Coraline and Harry because they identify with these ordinary children and feel as if they can also make a difference in their lives, as the characters defeat the evil in theirs. Children are more likely to engage with characters they identify with, but when a character is also a hero, children feel as if they themselves have the power to take agency in their own lives. Coraline is a representation of any child that is easily bored and seeks adventure, but she also displays bravery and heroism. Coraline s greatest strength is her imagination, which she uses to her advantage. Most children have active imaginations as she does, and this quality that they have in common will result in children identifying with Coraline and believing they are just as capable of surmounting obstacles as she is. • 28. Alpena Stats Study Cassie and I have conducted an experiment for our Probs and Stats project. We did and experiment to see if listening to music during a test affect your scores. This experiment is relative by most of the students in Alpena High listen to music. As a result of this experiment we were hoping that listening to either classical or rap improves test scores. Our population size is the students at Alpena High. Therefore, narrowing it down to AP classes in the morning as our sample size. In this experiment we had four variables, which is advance students (categorical), time of day (categorical), type of music (categorical) and our time interval of one minute (quantitative). As a result of our variables a T test would be best because, we won t know the population deviation. On the other hand, our randomization issue we decided to have a different test for each class, as well as each day (3 days). Then each day we rotated classical, rap and no music in each class.Meanwhile our sampling method would be a cluster sampling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At least 10 minutes was taken up of each class so we could do the experiment. One of us went to the front and explain why we are doing it and what they were doing, while the other person passed out the test. To keep this anonymous experiment we only had them put the date and hour, then they had to flip over so they couldn t see the test, Once everyone had their test flipped over and they were ready we did on the count of three to get them started on the test. Giving them a minute to the test. Then later in class we graded all the test. Once we got all the test for the three days we got each class averages and compare how they class did within the three days. Also compared all of the rap, all the classical and all the no music. • 30. Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay Introduction Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes related to the pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within 42 days after pregnancy termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013; Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al., 2014). There are proposals to change this definition to make it include one year post partum death of mothers, as the risk of death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans et al., 2006). Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries. In the year 2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most occurred in these developing countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of the outcomes that have been targeted in the efforts to improve maternal health for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Say et al., 2014). In developing countries, especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels remain high, maternal deaths have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction (Requejo et al., 2013). Many argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and quantify this problem, but Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is sufficient. The social issues The causes of maternal deaths are both direct and indirect. Majorly, the causes of maternal death are usually the aftermath of childbirth and pregnancy, and are majorly contributed to by diseases and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Resilience Of Nature By Sara Teasdale And Carl... The Resilience of Nature The outcome of engaging in war brings about inevitable consequences and atrocities that ultimately become part of humanities history. With the battles of war leaving such destruction in its wake one would think that there would remain visible and noticeable scars upon the landscape. However, nature and time have the ability to erase all the evidence and devastation that war can leave behind. The many non human life forms that exist in nature are unaware and undeterred from their purpose and routine within the environment. Even if humans destroy themselves to the point of non existence nature will continue to flourish. Although Sara Teasdale and Carl Sandberg have each chosen the topic of war within their poems and both have used nature to convey their opinions about humanity; the mechanics used to write each poem are different. Each poet chooses the theme of nature s generative abilities to portray man s disillusion about what war truly has a lasting effect on. Each author s poem reads as a metaphorical opinion about war and the existence of humans within the natural environment; as well as the physical history of war that is left behind. Sara Teasdale and Carl Sandberg also both seem to agree that the damages and carnage of war have no permanency on nature s ability to carry on in spite of human atrocities. Both poems also highlight nature s physical capabilities to dispose of the bodies left behind and ignore what was torn apart as a result of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Essay On Branches Of Government In grade school, children are taught that there are only three branches of government: the Judiciary, Legislative, and Executive branch. All three branches serve with equal power and each branch has the right to check and balance the other branches in order to keep every branch from being too over powered. The Supreme Court rules the Judiciary branch while the President rules over the Executive branch, and while Congress rules over the Legislative branch. What if the textbooks and lessons were wrong? Could there be a fourth branch of government? Yes and no. Mass media has made its way into controversy and is being categorized as a branch of government. The branches of government serve to check if the other branches of government are abusing their power in the government. In part, the media has served to put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, there has been an outcry of police brutality against the African American race. Many people would say the system in unjust and want justice for what has been happening in the last couple of years. Many African American males have been victims of discriminatory murder and the police officers have yet to experience any consequence. The platform at which people actually hear about the injustice is media. Twitter, Facebook, and many other mediums have been a platform for its users to share the outrageous news to other users. Without mass media, none of this would have been made possible. The nation is changing progressively with the new advancements in technology and will continue to do so. Mass media will stay with us for a very long time, if not forever. I believe it should be names as the fourth branch of government due to its effectiveness in checking the actions made by the government. • 33. Evaluation Of A New Hybrid Strategy Abstract Testing is an important process in software development and widely used by developers to reveal bugs. Often, software failures can lead to disastrous consequences such as loss of data, fortune and lives. Test engineers have generated a set of test cases to validate against the user requirements. The highest number of reduction can save a cost of testing. When dealing with a large line of code (LOCs) there still has redundancy happened. Our experiment studies about hybrid tReduct GNA_SA and the existing strategies to counter test redundancy reduction issues. In our experiment, we apply four (tReductLAHC, tReductSA, tReductGNA and tReduct GNA_SA) test suite reduction strategies for six different situation. After that, we then measure the effectiveness of the diversified solutions of four test suite reduction strategies. Our experiment shows that a new hybrid strategy tReduct GNA_SA offers more effectiveness to reduce redundancy compared to existing work. Keywords: Test suite redundancy reduction. Search based software engineering. Global Neighborhood Algorithm .Optimization . Simulated Annealing 1.0 INTRODUCTION Software testing refers to the process of finding an error of ensuring that particular software meets its specification. • 35. Dual Tasking And Cognitive Tasks Dual tasking is the simultaneous execution of two tasks, (McArdle, 2015) these tasks include two elementary cognitive tasks (ECT), or secondary tasks. ECTs are basic tasks which require a small number of mental processes (Caroll, 1993.) Dual tasking is the combination of two ECTs. Main cognitive functions, utilised in ECTs, are affected during the process of dual tasking specifically in executive function and attention. Executive function includes complex mental processes such as: problem solving, planning and dual tasking as shown in a study by Zelazo (2002.) Attention includes mental processes such as the ability to concentrate on people; actions, objects and restraint from impulsive actions. This cognitive function, along with executive ... This refers to focusing on one task until it is completed, rather than sharing attention to another task and simultaneously trying to complete both (Jayne, 2006.) Patients inflicted with PD, which are subject to dual task conditions, are seen with an increase in festinating steps and a worsened state of bradykinesia. In other words; an increased amount of shuffling steps and a slower pace of gait (Brauer, et al. 2011.) Furthermore, patients with the disorder whilst dual tasking demonstrate: increased variability in step length and width, leading to asymmetry in gait, and frequent motor blocks compared to walking alone (Yogev, Plotnik, Peretz, Giladi, Hausdorff, 2007; Spildooren, et al. 2010; Bloem, Valkenburg, Slabbekoorn, Dijk, 2001.)
