American Beauty Movie Review
Final Essay
Diva Denissov
American Beauty is a classic example of a family in deep seated conflict and conflict management.
The four horsemen are employed here regularly by the main character of Kevin Spacey who plays the
role of Lester Burnham, a depressed suburban father in a mid life crisis and a badgered and repressed
husband who is absolutely contemptuous of his wife Caroline Burnham who is played by Annette
Benning. Caroline is likewise contemptuous of Lester and his laizze faire way of negotiating through
life. Caroline is a Realtor who is seeking status and approval from the outside world, her friends and
her peers. Lester on the other hand is not seeking anything but to be comfortable and to find some
semblance of balance in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The neighbors are mirrors of each other, but the express their dysfunctions differently. The main
theme here is the dysfunctional nature of these two families who live right next door.
Lester is a man of character and principles, but he is simply disempowered by his conflict styles and
tactics. He is out of touch with himself and his wife, because he does not know what he wants out of
his life. He is out of touch entirely with his world and hates his job, does not know his daughter any
more and despises his wife for how she has changed from the hippie girl he married 20 years
previously. They do not talk about anything of importance, they do not talk about plans or goals or
wants or things that make them happy. They only talk about or discuss the things that irritate and
annoy each other.
They are both confrontational and also avoiding of their feelings. Caroline is inflexible and dominant
but yet she is passive aggressive over things that are trivial and of no real consequence. She is
completely consumed with attaining the acknowledgment of her peers in her profession. She thinks of
that as being the most important thing she can work towards or attain. She is completely unavailable

Representation Of African American Films
The medium of film and television have not been effectively coding the many American conflicts of
the past decades. The roles of superheroes, villains, and antiheroes have always been used in every
film and media directly or indirectly, introducing which is which. Since the beginning of modern film,
many movies plots and conflicts have revolved around a protagonist or several protagonists faced with
an opposing force that is disturbing the order of things, usually another individual bent on malicious
intent. A battle between the good and the bad, the heroic and the villainous. Unfortunately, the
conflicts between good and bad have not been effectively introduced through this medium.
Throughout history, the definition of what is good and what is bad has also changed slightly as a result
of the effects of the Sexual Revolution and the Judeo Christian ethic, and this has indeed been
reflected in the more modern movies of today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, politics, most notably the presidential election, through the medium of television has
become very confusing and has turned audience s attention to subjects that do not matter much. In
addition, films about racism, particularly towards African Americans, serve only as propaganda to
feed SJW rhetoric into the minds of Americans. Furthermore, the lack of films and media coverage of
educational reform has made audiences uninformed about this issue. On the other hand, the medium of
film has succeeded in providing an effective discussion of income inequality in America. Although
film and media has succeeded in providing accurate information about income inequality in America,
they have failed in effectively coding the conflicts of politics, racism, and education

Persuasive Essay On Bees
Pollination, produce, honey, bee´s wax, life wouldn t be the same without some of the few products
bees create and work their whole lives doing. Bees are dying off, over the past few years the bee
population has decreased which means some of our very beloved products have either increased in
price or may be hard to find. We as humans that have so much control over this planet should help the
bees so they can help us. Honeybees are an essential part of humanity.

miniature flying teddy bears , while others have smooth and shiny polished metallic bodies and legs
that glisten in colors of green, blue, and copper. Some are larger than the world s smallest

Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Positron emission tomography (PET) is a unique test that uses
positron emitters. It can be used in different parts of the body. PET scanning can be combined with
anatomical imaging such as CT and MRI, which enhanced the usefulness of the PET. The PET
scanning test are essential tools to diagnose various kind of diseases with abnormal characteristics.
PET can be use in Oncology routinely. In Neurology, PET is used to determine the diagnosis of
dementia by detecting beta amyloid in the brain. In cardiology, it measures cardiac perfusion and
assesses pathogenesis of intractable cardiac pathology (Batsuri, 2015). Sevigny et al., (2016), studied

The Study Of Psychology And Psychology
Firstly, it is important to know what is meant by the term science , and then to establish whether
psychology adheres to this. The Oxford English Dictionary defines science as the study or knowledge
of the physical world, based on observation and experiment . This immediately raises issues about this
debate as many areas of psychological research do not involve the observable. For example, the areas
of Clinical and Counselling psychology rely on a patient s thoughts and feelings to help determine
whether they suffer from a mental disorder. Owing to an advancement in technology, however,
phenomena that was once labelled as unobservable can now be observed. One example of this
includes emotions, including happiness, sadness, disgust, fear, ... Show more content on

This, however, should not be taken at face value as these bodies would not want to portray themselves
as being unscientific. Nevertheless, there is an overall positive effect of the psychological bodies
seeing themselves as scientific as empirical research will be promoted further, making psychology as a
subject more scientific.
Furthermore, psychology has become more scientific by the need to move away from pseudo
scientific perspectives. One such perspective, is Freud s Psychodynamic approach. This focuses on the
subconscious mind, and as this phenomena cannot be observed, it has been argued that the
Psychodynamic perspective is unfalsifiable and untestable. Both of these elements are key parts of
what makes a science. However, others have argued that the Psychodynamic perspective is testable,
but that it has just failed those tests (Hansson, 2015). review
The Behavioural perspective was the first to try and move psychology as a subject away from the
unscientific by focusing on observable and measurable behaviour to gain empirical evidence.
Moreover, since the 1970s, the Biological perspective has grown hugely with neuropsychology now
being a dominant approach. This shows that psychology has made a move to become more scientific
in its approaches and methods over time. review

Road Pricing Necessary, Unhealthy Rhetorical Analysis
In Daniel Wood s article Road Pricing Necessary, Contentious and coming to Vancouver, he provides a
glimpse into the possible uproar that will come of introducing road pricing to the city of Vancouver.
The masses of people who commute by transit have to pay for it while drivers on the other hand, pay
nothing to use the roads. Woods goes on to describe examples of how drivers get charged for using the
roads in other parts of the world and how it helps to reduce congestion and encourage the use of public
transit. Woods states that in Vancouver, the roads have been free since the beginning of time.
Consequentially, the public does not really comprehend the concept of road pricing let alone have any
experience with it and without the proper education,

The Late Middle Ages
The late Middle ages was definitely a troubled time for citizens around Europe. From the 14th Century
to the 15th Century, humans were raveled by famines, disruption of socio economics, and lost of faith
in the Catholic Church. To the eyes of many at the time, this era was looked at as a major decline of
life. With the many deaths, poor condition for poor people, and the schism of the Church, it may seem
easy to call this era a decline. Although upon closer looking, this era is more of a transitional period
into the next period than a decline due to many reasons. Whether you look at religious, social
movements, or economically, the late Middle Ages helped transition Europe into what it has become.
For example, the church went through a great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Limitations Of Selective Perception
Selective perception is an aspect that influence decision making corresponding to the hypothesis of
Hastorf and Cantrill which states that out of all the occurrences going on in the environment, people
will choose those that is important to them in their own egocentric perception. Specifically, in the
study of escalation of commitment Biyalogorsky, Boulding, and Staelin established that one of the
most influential drivers of intensification is biased belief updates. In the investigation, students
received statistics regarding recent merchandise with the history of its marketed competitors, based on
this information they had to decide whether the organization should invest 2.5 million to improve and
relaunch the product. Additionally, in the second part of the experiment the students received new
information that was negative about the net present value forecast for the investment. Notably, the
result of the experiment reveals that the student did not update their beliefs concurring to the new
information, and in the final analysis, their evaluation was influenced by their initial beliefs. Selective
perceptive seem to have occurred (Steinkuhler et al. 2014). In a like manner, Keil, Depledge and Rai s
experiment with the students on selective perceptive involved software quality and its following effect
on escalation. First, students were asked to roll play some were marketed staffers while others were
chosen as quality assurance staffers. Comparatively, the student who was

Beginners Film Techniques
The movie Beginners was a comical yet gloomy movie drama. Comical and depressed doesn t seem
like words to describe a film but it was balanced. It was in a way painful to watch since from the
beginning the audience would know what was going to happen. There are various elements that made
this film an interesting disheartening comedy drama. Throughout the film the shot (lighting, costume,
and set design) set the whole experience. To some the shot and camerawork and the number one
priority but lack the action and dialogue and the proper actors, but beginners seemed to have a
balance, much like other films. The lighting throughout the film seemed to fit the mood for example,
during some scenes the shot looked smoky or cloudy, but never dark and in scenes with Hal the sun
seemed to shine every time he was in the shot, and when he was happy. Another important element in
the shot is costume, and it plays a major role because the way someone is dressed helps people
understand them better. The costumes fit each character, and although the costumes were simple they
played a role in understating the character. Lastly the set design in the film was remarkable. The

Although it had flashbacks that may have confused some, but the movie flowed smoothly, and didn t
reveal some things prematurely. For example we knew the father was going to die but didn t know
exactly when or exactly how. In order for a film to succeed and receive great reviews like beginners it
must keep the audience hooked from the moment it begins and Mike Mills and the actors achieved
that. Although the audience knew there was going to be a sad ending the action and dialogue seemed
to keep the audience interested. During the film the dialogue revealed a lot about the characters and
what was going on in their life and mind. It showed how Oliver was in the beginning and how he

Essay on The Anglo-saxon Literature
In the Anglo Saxon literature, the scop has a privilege of retaining history, culture and social values of
that society. In many cases the scop exercises the power to create stories which reflect the values of
that society. The Rood in the ¡°The Dream of the Rood¡± also tells a story of which affects its society
and people. The existence of this witness that reports the suffering and the glorification of Christ
proves necessary for the people to believe. The Rood becomes a hero that preserves an event that

What defines a hero in this period pertains to facing the ¡°wierd.¡± Rather than a resignation in giving

1.1 Explain The Difference Between Sequence And Rate Of...
Explain the difference between: The sequence of and rate of development And why this difference is
important The sequence of development refers to the usual order in which development occurs. The
main difference between the sequence and the rate is that the sequence is the order in which
development takes place, whilst the rate is the time frame given for the average development of a
child at a certain age. The sequence of development is like a milestone as children usually finish one
area of development before moving to another. In life each child is unique and individual; Patterns of
development will be different too. Some Children develop quicker in different areas. Development can

This varies between each child although they tend to follow the same pattern. An example would be

stopped her from accomplishing things. All children develop at different rates but by seeing the
comparisons we may be able to identify if there are any difficulties with a child s development. It s
important to know the difference between the sequence and rate of development as it helps to meet the
children s individual needs. It helps you recognise if any children have special educational needs

The Role Of Nurse Leader With Advocacy
Combining Nurse Leader With Advocacy
Introduction
The focus of this paper is to expatiate on the role of nurse leader in advocacy and their responsibilities
in the transformation of the health care in today s industry. The role of nurse managers has a far
reaching effect on the overall shaping of the health care industry for the future American health system
and most especially in fulfilling the expertise needed in the complex and dynamic health care safety
environment. This can only be achieved with the help of the nurse leader willing to effect the change.

Ghetto Symphony Poem Meaning
The first girl I ever made love to, she was ghetto as hell. Kyle Grooms Centuries ago the word ghetto
did not quite have the same meaning as it does now. It is an Etymological mystery... Did it come from
hebrew? Or was it Ghektes, which is the Yiddish word for enclosed ? From the Italian borghetto, little
town ? Or possibly even the Venetian foundry? Whatever the other meanings may be, the original
creation of the word was in the 17th century when it was used to refer to the quarter in a city, chiefly
in Italy, to which the Jews were restricted, At this time during the 16th and 17th century Jewish
populations in cites such Rome, Frankfurt, and Prague were often isolated from the rest of society.

They create the mold from the real human being, and the process usually takes twenty minutes

that way so that they can capture all of human`s emotions truly. They can easily catch every feeling or

the conventional plaster portraits is the color. According to Rigoberto, this is how people really look

She dresses casually like a housewife with a tight bun hair, but her face appears a smile among the
signs of tiredness. All these features combine together with the message of happiness. About the pose,
she rounds her arms like the need of covering from the husband. This feature gains the femininity of

Theme Of I Am And Ode To Autumn By John Clare
The poem I have chosen to discuss are, John Clare s I am and Ode to Autumn. by John Keats. Both of
these poems deal with the sublime and express the concern of self consciousness that poetry addressed
during the romantic period. John Clare s I am is a refection upon ones last minutes of breathing life, or
rather a pondering of death. The poem is cleverly constructed through the structured use of complex
poetic techniques in the phonics and sense appealing aspects of the poem. Clare writes to manipulate
the reader, not to show them his grief and despair from his point of view, but instead, a point of view
of which he would like them to see from. I chose this poem because the poem itself, almost becomes
self aware, as though the experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keats indulges himself in his personified version of autumn. This poem also deals with the theme of
death and its inevitability. This was also a common trait of Keats, as for him, these petite and gradual
notions of death occurred daily and he recorded them and marvelled their lack of severity. The images
that Keats expresses of the cease of your loved ones hold, the engravings on a historical samovar, and
the harvesting in August are of course symbols of death, but are also actually deathly occurrences if
we really think about it. This introduces the underlying threat under al the fruitful beauty of this

Chairman and Chief Executive of leading European pharmaceutical enterprises, Nourtis:
Profit in pharmaceutical industries is not possible without patents and without patents innovation,
research and development of new life saving drugs and medicines suffers (Winestock and Cooper,
2001, p. 1). Without incentive Research and Development (R amp;D) cannot be done, and this
incentive is provided by strong IPRs. According to Grabowski, H. (2002) the total cost of doing
researching and developing new drug along with the costs of capital and failed R amp;D is more than
US$400 million. In the absence of strong implementation of IPRs and R amp;D costs, investors will
not be ready to invest in R amp;D.
According to Dam (1994, P. 247), the copping of intangible assets are very easy and this will result in
free copying of innovation by imitators at a low cost. Patent which is one of the way of IPRs, helps to
motivate innovation and R amp;D by giving assurance to innovator total and exclusive rights, these
rights include manufacturing right, selling or maintaining, distributing or licensing to distribute the
invention. If patent laws in not available in pharmaceutical market no investors will ready to do
investment in R amp;D and the risk is so high that competitor will copy the good and services with
less risky investment (Ryan and Shanebrook, 2004, pp. 15, 16).

A Strong Personality That Goes Against The Patriarchal...

Merida has a strong personality that goes against the patriarchal idea of a weak woman. Merida does
not share in any womanly domestic activities championed by patriarchy and often performed by past
Disney princesses. In Disney movies, Princesses like Snow White and Cinderella are often shown
cleaning and cooking, but Merida enjoys physical activities such as horseback riding, rock climbing,

However, some will not support Merida is her feminist agenda due to messing up the flow of
entertainment via media. Laura Mulvy in her article Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema , backs
these claims by stating, In their traditional exhibitionist role women are simultaneously looked at and
displayed, with their appearance coded for strong visual and erotic impact so that they can be said to
connote to be looked at ness. Woman displayed as sexual object is the leit motif of erotic spectacle:
from pin ups to striptease, from Ziegfeld to Busby Berkeley, therefore women are presence to
indispensable elements of spectacle in normal narrative film . Some misogynist movie goers and TV
watchers like to see women objectified and hyper sexualized because it keeps there attention and
usually the attention is what funds the films. If cartoons and films starting breaking down hyper
sexuality of women, such as Merida is attempting in this film, it could cause drastic change in
audience and possible decline in sales. Turning back to my original point, Merida is feminist because
she has the patriarchal idea of a weak. Merida is confident about her self and does not hesitate to take
control when she ought to, such as coming up with a plan to sneak Elinor in bear form out of the castle
or procuring food when she and her mother are in the woods. She insists on thinking for

How Does Pip Develop Throughout The Novel
What influences shape the character of young Pip in Great Expectations? Great Expectations , by
Charles Dickens, is an enthralling tale of love and fortune. The story is set in the period of Dickens
childhood, from 1810 to approximately 1830, and it is likely that memories of his own youth inspired
Dickens to write the novel. The main character, Pip, is a gentle and humble boy whose character and
personality undergo major transformations throughout the novel. He is influenced by many characters,
in particular Estella, the hard hearted girl from Satis House, and Magwitch, the convict from the
marshes. From the first page of the novel, Pip is introduced as an orphan and he enlightens the reader I

depicts him as a mild, good natured, sweet tempered, easy going, foolish, dear fellow and because of

Starwars Episode 6 Essay
In starwars episode 6, Leia gets captured by Jabba the Hutt and released, Luke resumes his whining
(this time as a Jedi), and former Anakin turns to the light side after going through 3 episodes as Darth
Vader. Luke is like his father in the sense that he has lost his mother, he learned the force easily, and
he saved his father just as Darth Vader saved his son.
Luke is like his father, in the sense that he lost his mother. His mother died when giving birth to both
him and Leia, and although he didn t know his mother, he did have a similar attachment to a man he

Berlioz Characteristics
Music is a beautiful form of producing harmony and expressing emotions, but a tune cannot suddenly
pop up out of the abyss. Someone had to write music to be played. People who compose a tune are
given the term composer. With many composers around the world, one that sticks out is Louis Hector
Berlioz. Hector Berlioz, oldest son of father, Louis Joseph Berlioz, and mother, Marie Antoinette was
born in La Côte Saint André, France on December 11, 1803. His father, at a time being a massive idol
for Hector, a physician and was believed to have introduced acupunctural techniques while his mother
was a devout Roman Catholic, could not get Hector to have a love for classical languages. His father
had wanted Hector to have an education in medicine. Berlioz was one of six siblings ;however, three
had sadly died at a young age. The other two who had lived past the traumatic time were Nanci, who
was younger than Hector by three years, and Adèle, who was the youngest and younger than Hector
by eleven years. Berlioz was close to the both of them. In Hector s lifetime he had two different
spouses but not at the same time. Harriet Smithson was his first partner and Mademoiselle Récio
followed. Hector soon developed a passion for music which overflowed into his own music as he goes
into further detail about how the prevailing characteristics of my music are passionate expression,
rhythmic animation, and unexpected turns. He was entranced with music, so he started

Osteoporosis is known to cause problems in middle aged women and occasionally effecting some men

Organisation states that anyone can get osteoporosis but women are about four times more likely than
men to develop it, with two main reasons contributing to this fact. For several years after menopause
occurs (ovaries stop producing oestrogen), the process of bone loss speeds up, increasing the chance

As osteoporosis occurs due to calcium deficiency, diet habit changes are crucial, allowing the body to
recover and strengthen the bones. Bone strengthening nutrition often includes an increase intake of
calcium and vitamin D (5).
As recommended, nutritionists often say that a sufficient amount of calcium intake per day is 1000mg
for women over the age of 19 (6). Unfortunately, many people find it difficult to meet the
requirements as not all calcium we take in is used effectively. Some is lost and some excreted.
However, with the menu provided, calcium intake levels have been boosted to fit patients diagnosed
with osteoporosis. For example, the glass of milk provided at breakfast contains 300mg per cup,
providing approximately 1/3 of the recommended amount (7). Not only does milk boost up the
calcium, but most dairy products, tinned sardines or salmons, soy based products and dark leaved
vegetables also contain calcium (8). Some of these meals include the cream of potato soup. As it
remains as a side dish of the lunch, only 37mg of calcium has been added. With all other meals and
their calcium levels, the body is able to receive enough calcium per day, as recommended. One other
example throughout the menu that consists of calcium is the apple turnover and custard for the dessert.
This dessert comprises of ingredients such as milk and cream allowing the body to consume a
sufficient amount of calcium. Other calcium products has been added throughout the meal to balance
out the calcium intake of the day, without an overdosage as it can have other side effects such as
hypercalcimia which occurs due to too much calcium in the bloodstream. To prevent osteoporosis the
menu provides suitable amounts calcium, where the calcium intake approximately adds up to 1087.17

Do African Americans like their food well done or almost burnt? Do greens and beans require pork to

rhetorical questions are solutions to why diabetes is most prevalent in the African Americans
community. Fifty percent of African American women suffer from obesity. African American adults
have substantially higher rates of obesity than white Americans. (3) Overweight is a major risk factor
for diabetes 2 in the African American community. Excess amounts of fats and sugars are killing the
African Community. In the bestseller Satan , by Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, she argues that Diabetes is the
third leading killer after heart disease and cancer among African Americans. (4) She goes on to say
that, Historically black people have played diabetes off and commonly referred to this deadly disease
by saying Mama has a sugar problem. (4) In order for the expansion of diabetes to lessen in the black
community, people have to be comfortable enough to name the disease and realize that if mama has a
sugar problem, then mama needs to stop eating five pounds of sugar! Many African Americans tend
characterize diabetes as being a sugar disease , but there are so many other factors besides sugar, to
take into account when talking about diabetes. For one, a high amount of fat intake can be a huge risk
factor for diabetes 2. My parents both have diabetes 2

Developmental Motor Scale. We chose this assessment because our patient was a chronological age of
thirteen months (premature 1 week, 9 days) and were aiming to look at her gross motor function in the
following areas: reflexes, stationary, locomotion, object manipulation. Our results provided us with
raw scores of: 12 for reflexes, 36 for stationary, 53 for locomotion and 1 for object manipulation. Due
to our patient, Olivia, being premature we decided to compare her percentile ranks to her
chronological age and her corrected age. Upon doing so, we found that our patient was in higher
percentile ranks for her corrected age than her chronological age.

The Political Economy Of Globalization
Joseph Stiglitz and Layna Mosley both discuss globalization in detail and both have similar views
regarding globalization. In the chapter The Political Economy of Globalization Layna Mosley asks the
question whether globalizations effect on government policy making has adverse effects on the state
of the global economy or if governments retain autonomy in regards to policymaking despite
globalization. She analyzes trends in globalization and the hypothesis of the race to the bottom as well
as economic openness and if government are truly in control of capital markets. Joseph Stiglitz
however analyzes globalization in a historical and current point of view and how the management of
globalization has comparatively helped developed nations extensively more than developing/poor
nations. Stiglitz s supports his argument regarding the poor management of globalization by arguing
that monopoly power created by patents and the TRIPs agreement has resulted in an unfair global
market and is overall very critical of trade agreements. This paper will summarize and critically
analyze these two readings and why both texts make strong a valid point in regards to the management
of globalization and its effect on the global environment. Furthermore this paper will argue why the
texts support the claim that globalization has not only prospered but also resulted in the end of the
nation state because of the increasing interdependence between countries all around the world.

While at the camp stella saw the bond that Rosa and Magda had. She was envious of the love that they

Stella to act the way she did was the fact that Magda was different from them. Magda was not like the
other jews in the concentration camp. Although she only a baby, Magda had the features of an aryan .
This was probably another reason Stella did such an evil deed. Stella without remorse stole Magda s
only thread of hope for survival. The shawl that stella stole was the only driving force keeping Magda
alive. She purposefully ripped it from her to lead to her demise. This really showed who stella was and
who she was always going to be. Even after Stella escaped the camp and made a life for herself she

Accurate Timekeeping At Sea
In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries clock making was a vital European technology, and
London was at its cutting edge. As a maritime nation, the British were concerned with one problem in
particular: they could make clocks that kept very good time as long as they stayed perfectly still but
not when they were shaken about, and particularly not on board a rolling ship. If you wanted to sail, it
was impossible to keep a precise record of time. And at sea, if you can t tell the time, you don t how
far east or west you are. It is relatively easy to calculate latitude your distance north or south of the
equator by measuring the height of the Sun above the horizon at noon; but this won t let you calculate
longitude your position east or west.
The problem of accurate timekeeping at sea was finally fixed in the middle of the eighteenth century
by John Harrison. He invented a marine chronometer which could go on accurately telling the time in
spite of the changes in temperature and humidity and the constant movement of a ship. This made it
possible for ships anywhere to establish their longitude. Before a ship set sail, its chronometer would
be set to the local time in harbor for the British this was usually Greenwich. You would then compare
the time at Greenwich with the time of noon on the ship, which you fixed by the Sun. The difference
between the two times gave you your longitude. For the twenty four hours in the day, every hour the
Sun moves across the sky that

The project, referred to as Nickel Mine Opportunity is a product of a comprehensive of options work
that led to a preliminary feasibility study which further farmed the project concept to an approximate
accuracy range of +/ 25 percent. The target schedule for the project is approximately 12 months. For
the project to be approved, the client holds the opinion that a contracting company engaged in the
preparation of a feasibility study must develop a study that define scope and cost to an accuracy of +/
15 percent.
The undertaking of the project will involve one or more development contractors who will work
closely with the lead contractor. Close collaboration among different contractors working on a project
is an effective way of achieving project objectives within set timelines (Binder, 2007). The execution
of the project will be undertaken by the contractor after approval via an appropriate procurement
contract. The client proposes a target schedule of project execution to start of production at
approximately 48 months.
Te concept of the scope of work is defined by the location and infrastructure elements that encompass
the project. The physical location of the Nickel Mine is approximately 1000km inland in the country
of Kumahatata, located in the African continent. Key infrastructural components that encompass the
project include offices, accommodation, and an aerodrome. The location and preliminary design of the

Gait Variability And Fall Risk
Gait Variability and Fall Risk in Older Adults
Abdulrahman M. Aldahmashi University of Pittsburgh Motor Learning and Control of Movement
Dr. Susan Whitney November 2, 2014
Introduction
Falling is described as resting on the ground or the floor accidently without being caused by intrinsic
incident or tremendous hazard (Ayoubi Launay, 2014; Tuunainen, Rasku, Jäntti, Pyykkö, 2014). It is
also defined as unexpected, unintended, unprovoked alteration in body position causing an individual
to be in an inferior level and not resulted from internal disturbance (Menant, Schoene, Sarofim, Lord,
2014).
Background Information
Fall is the major cause of injury in the elderly, which places more load on the health care system
(Krasovsky, Lamontagne, Feldman, Levin, 2014). Samuel D. Towne Jr. and his colleagues conducted
a study to calculate the cost of hospitalizing older people as a result of falling in Texas Hospital.
77,086 fallers were hospitalized, costing around 3.1 billion dollars in 2011, which is an increase of
around 2 billion dollars since 2007 (Towne, Ory, Smith, 2014). Moreover, fall directly causes 21,649
deaths and indirectly causes 5,402 deaths in the United States in 2010 (Stevens Rudd, 2014). Also,
420,000 individuals around the world die yearly because of falling (Mignardot et al., 2014). Most falls
in older adults take place during walking (Lee, Verghese, Holtzer, Mahoney, Oh Park, 2014).
Therefore, falls are related to gait variability

The True, Good, and Beautiful
March 17, 2017
As we have learned by defining truth and how it is based on an unwavering and dogmatic stance,
which is faith in God Love, and is absolute. Absolute truth starts with God and ends with God, truth
looks at the Bible for what it is and what it says, and not with independence or interpretation. Now,
what is good and can we define it? In the American society, it is evident that individuals want to brand
good as personally defined and not absolute, however, for something to be truly good , it has to be
good for the whole world, meaning it cannot constantly change between persons. Therefore, what is
good must be defined by something unchanging, for that reason, what ... Show more content on

His goodness is unity, oneness, without division, it looks at truth for definition, it is absolute love, it
places every person higher than themselves, and it does not worry or take thought about things that are
not beneficial for love. Christ is the perfect example for truth and goodness. He is truly relational to
God, he accepted the whole world in love by dying for them to include murderers, pedophiles,
enemies, the oppressed, the racist, the tax collectors, the sexually immoral, the slave, every nationality,
those who continually struggle with sin, etc. Jesus was and is impartial; he is the definition of truth,
which leads to goodness. Goodness as defined by truth is our guidance for how to live, reason,
communicate, and comprehend in a secular world. Without a firm stance on what is good, based on
absolute truth, we (again) would be left to find the answers for ourselves in a modernist and
postmodernist fashion. As without truth, the result leaves one empty while searching and finding
nothing truly good. Therefore, we must focus on truth and what it tells us to define good, because
what is good is the byproduct of absolute

The Pros And Cons Of Hydrogen
Jasmine Nguyen, Annie Vo
The energy source that will have a thorough description from how it works to what it s made of and
much more, is hydrogen fuel source. The first fuel cell was invented by Sir William Robert Grove in
1839. Hydrogen is the fuel of destiny mainly due to it s elevated transformation efficiency, salvaging,
and non contaminating nature. Hydrogen plays a higher role in the sustainability of life and can be
employed to cause energy. Hydrogen can also be manufactured using several various processes such
as electrolysis, solar energy, and can be assembled, both thermochemically and biologically.
Electrolysis is the process of using a dynamic current to isolate water into hydrogen and oxygen gas.
Unfortunately this procedure has more intensive energy. The electrolysis process is pretty valuable
since it involves high energy consumption. The energy used to generate a current in the electrolysis
process is pretty valuable since it involves high energy consumption. The energy is also limited from
fossil fuels like oil, natural gas or coal. The electrical charge that is tested to water will shatter the
chemical bonds between hydrogen and oxygen atoms. As a result, it will produce charged particles
called ions. The ions must be free to proceed in order for electrolysis to work. When classic ... Show

As time in the future comes near, hydrogen could join electricity as an important energy carrier. An
energy carrier is able to transport and deliver energy in a useable form to consumers. There are
renewable energy sources such as the sun and wind, but they can t produce energy all the time. With
hydrogen being a fuel cell, it has a higher efficiency than diesel or gas engines. Most fuel cells are
able to operate without making sound, compared to central combustion engines. Therefore they re
perfectly convenient to be usable in buildings such as

Romeo And Juliet Ambition Essay
The beautiful thing about Shakespeare s writings is that while they may not be canonically connected,
they share similar aspects in terms of central themes or driving forces. This is most notable in many of
Shakespeare s tragedies since he uses many of the same faults of man to create a tragic ending. One of
these recurring fatal flaws is ambition, and interestingly enough, Shakespeare crafts his work in such a
way that the characters all show their passionate ambition in very different ways depending on the
story. Shakespeare uses ambition as a prominent driving force in Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Romeo and
Juliet, and Titus Andronicus, and how he views ambition changes between each story. Hamlet and
Julius Caesar are both primarily driven by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These drastic actions show how ambitious Hamlet was to avenge the wrongful death of his father and
remove Claudius from the throne.
Claudius is the other major example of ambition in the story, as shown through his drastic measures
taken to assure that no one discovers that he killed the King and used his death as an opportunity to
take up the crown. It is revealed to Hamlet by his father s ghost that Claudius killed the former ruler in
his own garden by pouring poison into his ear. This is very characteristic of Shakespeare s tragedies,
characters will kill each other off for their own ambitious agendas without hesitation for morals or law
and Claudius fits into this trend perfectly. To further ensure that his status as king is not compromised,
he seduces the King s wife, Gertrude, and attempts to get Hamlet to forget his father by calling his
grief childish and a hindrance to his role as the prince (365). The King s ghost informs Hamlet that
Gertrude was one of the most virtuous women alive and wouldn t have taken lightly to his sudden
death, so it is apparent that Claudius took extreme measures to get Gertrude on his side. To go through
all this work to ensure that he remained in power proves that Claudius was just as ambitious to
achieve power as Hamlet was to remove him from it.
The famous story of Caesar s rise to power and the opposition he faces from his so called friends and
allies, Julius Caesar is another prominent

Different Types Of Economics Within The Game Show Industry
The business that I have chosen for this project is TV Game Shows. Over the next few pages, I will
show different types of economics within the game show industry.
Cash prizes are paid by the show, and the money comes from the producers, who are paid by the
advertisers/network. There can be a couple of safeguards that make this a little easier for the shows:
They can have an insurance policy to protect them from huge losses. For example, the insurance
company says, we ve studied the odds of your game, and we ll sell you a policy for $200,000 up front,
that pays out full prize money any time someone wins $100,000 or more during this season of the
show. Obviously this is all about a smart insurance company who has studied the gameplay and sorted
out the odds of how many players will win big, but the point is that the show doesn t have to worry
about it. They can let the insurance company work it out, and the show then has a nice fixed cost
expense they can reliably drop into their production budget and not think about it.
For really big prizes ($1,000,000), shows may pay similar to a lottery, where the money is in a fund
that pays over x amount of years, or the winner can take a reduced lump sum immediately. For
example, if you were to win $1 million on a show, they might tell you (after the show is done taping)
okay! We can give you $50,000 a year for the next 20 years, or we can pay you $450,000 lump sum
right now and that s all you get.
And of course,

Spot Fake Cashiers
Four Tips to Help a Small Business Owner Spot Fake $10 and $20 Bills
If you own a retail business that takes cash, it is important that you train your cashiers to spot fake
currency. For many businesses, it is a basic strategy to simply refuse bills over twenty dollars, but you
still have to deal with the problem of counterfeit $10 and $20 bills. The following are a few things you
and your cashiers should know to spot fake money in you store.
Look for the watermark
This is an image that can be seen when you hold the bill up to the light. The watermark will be a face,
and it will be the same face as the portrait on the bill. It will also be on the right side of the front of the
bill. There are several ways to detect a fake bill using the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you look closely when holding up the note to the light, you can see this thread. It is not printed, but
is a thread that is embedded in the bill. In addition, there is printing on the thread. For the $10 and $20
bills, there will be the letters USA. After this will be the word ten or twenty, depending upon the
denomination.
Using a counterfeit money detection pen
These pens are easy to use and are an important weapon in detecting counterfeit bills. Basically, you
make a mark on the bill the same way you would when using a felt pen. If the mark changes to a color
indicated by the manufacturer of the pen, then the bill is fake. These pens are checking for certain
common chemicals that are used when criminals produce fake money.
Check for the feel of the note and the printing
If you are still unsure after the above three checks, you can take a bill that is known to be authentic
and compare this to the suspicious bill. The first thing to compare is the feel of the bill. Fake bills may
have a thinner texture to them. A better comparison is with the printing. Authentic bills have small and
detailed printing that is produced from metal plates. When a bill is a forgery, the details on a bill are
often blurry. A magnifying glass is best used to detect these

Compare And Contrast Two Famous Bad Leader
A simple definition of leadership is a skill or ability that someone has in order to lead or guide the
community to a specific set of goal to better outcomes. Based on this definition, judging bad leaders in
this term should be considered just by their results as good leaders will essentially lead to good results
and bad leaders will lead to bad results. In this essay, the difference of describing two famous bad
leaders of the ancient Rome, Caligula and Nero, written by two authors, Tacitus and Suetonius, are
mentioned in details to see if they are judged rightly. Therefore, it can be seen if the two bad leaders
are unfair, or they had some good results in that time or after. The first bad leader that is introduced is
the Emperor of Rome Gaius, mostly known as Caligula. In the beginning, the Romans loved Caligula
because of his father, Germanicus, who was a great general and kind person among the others, and
Caligula used to accompany him when he was a boy. However, Caligula is famous for being a
Capricious, harmful, and mass murderer person. All this love for Caligula was gone after he changed
to a cruel person due to his illness. Suetonius mentions only the negative points on Caligula and
describes that his illness made him to be so cruel and heartless, and Caligula knew there is ... Show

Nero was a person who was known to love musical instruments and forced his people to join theaters.
People tried to avoid attending the theater by faking their death or finding other excuses not to come

for specific goals as burning the entire Rome and rebuilding it into another shape that he was pleased.
He was seen as an obsessive and dishonest person among the Romans because he blamed and killed
the Christians for burning Rome, and he killed his own people for his own desire

Swot Analysis Of Nestle Pakistan
Over view of nestle Pakistan:
Nestle Pakistan started its operations in Pakistan in 1988 under a joint venture with milk Pak and took
over management in 1992. Nestle Pakistan is the leading food and beverage company in Pakistan. The
key focus of nestle is on nutrition, health and wellness of people. Nestle Pakistan is engaged only in
production and manufacturing of quality products for its consumers. They are not directly involve in
the distribution of products. They only market or advertise the products. The distribution work is done
with the help of third party.
Segmentation:
When the products are manufactured they are invoiced to the distributer. Here the distributer acts as a
wholesaler, he does not deals in retailing activities. The duty of distributer is just to deliver the product
to retailer.
If we talk about the segmentation, Pakistan is divided in to three zones.
1. South zone
2. Central zone
3. North zone
Each zone is further divided in to more regions. Like if we talk about central zone it is divided in to
five regions.
1. Lahore
2. Sahiwal

5. Faisalabad

have to increase the inventory for juices and in winter season the demand of coffee is increased so
they have to keep inventory on that demanded quantity. If these matters are going smoothly that means
there exists no gap in supply side and if there arise problems, inventory turnover is the indicator
through which the gap can be analyzed. External environment like uncertain or certain weather
conditions may create problems or gaps in distribution system because of delayed supply

Comparison Between Friedrich Nietzsche And Dr. Martin...
Whether or not you agree with their views, both Friedrich Nietzsche and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
were great, highly influential men. Their views, though radically different, impacted the world in the
greatest of ways, altering history for many nations. While Nietzsche, a German philosopher from the
1800s, spoke from a materialistic point of view, believing that there is no god and that all that exists is
matter, King, a civil rights activist of the 1900s, spoke from the belief in transcendence, that there is
indeed a god, and that he exists in a divine realm outside of this universe. But not only do these men
differ in their backgrounds and religious beliefs, they differ radically in how they believe society
should function. In Nietzsche s writings, he promoted a system that emphasizes will to power. He
believed that an aristocracy was the basis for a great society. King, on the other hand, promoted a
system of equality and justice. He thought all men were created equal, and that society should reflect
that belief. The writings of these men have come to be studied by people everywhere. They are so
influential, in fact, that one of them played an incredible role in getting our society to the point that it
is today.
As stated previously, Nietzsche s work was both great and highly influential. The Nazis even used his
writings as a basis for their beliefs. Nietzsche believed that the greatest societies were always built
upon the aristocratic system. Since he believed there

Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists
To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It was
created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a
real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it
is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the
creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not
have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against
bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using
ethos and pathos to make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of
logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona
that allows the audience to see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with
authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done
in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer
by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. He tells the story of his pain
when he was bullied and how simple name calling left lasting effects on him personally. This not only
lets the viewer see that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has

Many myths exist concerning the eyes and proper care. For example, easing carrots will help an
individual have good eyesight, yet many other factors also play a role in the health of one s eyes.
Sitting too close to the television won t hurt the eyes either, although many believe doing so will
damage their eyesight. When visiting an optometrist, it s best to discuss any concerns you may have
about your eyes. Your doctor examines the eyes and can provide you individualized information that
will be of benefit to you. Although you may be experiencing one or more problems similar to those a
friend or family member is, your body is unique, thus you need information specific to you, and your
optometrist can provide that information, Dr. Simmons continues. Understanding the difference
between an optometrist and an opthalmologist is of great importance. An optometrist conducts full
vision exams and prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses, among other things. He or she may also
provide medical optometry services. An opthalmologist sees patients in need of medical eye treatment
and surgeries. Vision Institute employs doctors of both types to best meet the needs of their

Discuss The Arguments In Favour Of British Imperialism
Dirks argues we should look past colonial justifications of higher principles such as Liberty,
Democracy or a civilising impulse and recognise them as excuses for domination and exploitation .
However, the confident and aggrandising attitude is crucial to understanding why the British presumed
that their white settler colonies would desire a closer union, and why others were excluded. J. S. Mill
s, who studied the empire as a scholar and as an official of the East India Company thought that
different types of possessions [are] to be governed in different ways depending on the stages of
civilisation they had reached and because of this civilising aim any failure was blamed on the
precolonial past . As Sullivan has noted, like James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the difficulties of a creating an agreed constitutional formula exposed that a coherent
ideology was out of grasp. Political structures and Britain s role within them were of particular
concern as for Froude one free people cannot govern another free people . An anonymous article in
1873 argued for a really Imperial Parliament in place of the English, Welsh and Scotch, and Irish one
that wrongly goes by that name . There was particular concern over Britain s future role; whether it
would be first amongst equals, maintain her status, or be equal with perhaps power centred not in
Westminster, but in a federal head. Dilke argued that the issue of central government as the choice of
capital will, here as in Canada, be a matter of peculiar difficulty . Also, ambiguous vocabulary with
federations , confederations , and commonwealths whilst in one way was a strength in attracting many
to the cause, meant disagreement was inevitable. Bell compares Seeley with anti Imperialist and
opponent Goldwin Smith to show that they shared a broad consensus about the world and Britain s
place within it, as Smith, nicknamed Little Englander advocated unity, but contrasting Seeley, believed
it would come from residue loyalty to England. Furthermore, Dilke, who had already raised concern

How to Go Broke
Going broke is a very tedious and cumbersome activity, which requires constant vigilance and tireless
effort. Although many have accomplished this feat on their own, many of us require some form of
guidance. This serves as the quintessential handbook of how to get broke; it shall be called The House
of Cards Insolvency Process Guide. To begin, it is critical to limit the term broke as financially
bankrupt. Although at times broke can refer to moral emptiness or may even be used to describe both
pecuniary and personal ruin, we limit our definition strictly to fiscal failure. Before we delve into the
step by step guidelines on achieving one s bankruptcy, certain foundations are suggested to be laid out
in order to facilitate the process. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One must pretend to know the broad and yet differentiated world of banking and equity portfolios
without bothering to actually learn about them. Use words such as instability , hedging , and
derivatives to inspire awe and trust among those who discuss these activities with you. Of utmost
importance to Step Two, one must invest in only certain types of products to assure that one s portfolio
remains inflexible and susceptible to crashing. Next comes the more advanced form of unwise asset
management: putting up businesses. In the Sound Business stage, the thoughtless and unabashed
purchasing habits initiated in Step One shall be the basis. At this point, the financially carefree person
should have festered into a near irrational spender. Combined with the presumed delusions of grandeur
instilled within every money dependent being, one s illogical fund management should produce poorly
thought through and totally unreasoned out business plans. Logic and better judgment that should
dawn on a person after a few days of the first occurrence of the insane business idea should be shelved
for other situations. Ideas like creating exotic pet shops selling poisonous snails and scorpions, making
edible condoms, and putting up a sperm bank should be seen as profitable and nothing short of genius
market differentiation. It is advised to fund the aforementioned businesses via bank loans for higher
interest rates, but if

The Life Of Nicole s Spiritual Journey
Nicole is a 21 year old female, who grew up in the church all of her life. Her parents held very
traditional views, which was reflected in her upbringing. She was dedicated as a baby, she attended
church every Sunday, was baptized at the early age of seven years old, and accepted Christ as the head
of her life and the foundation of her existence. She was active in the church very early on,
participating in Sunday school, the usher board, and singing in the youth choir. Even so, Nicole s
spiritual journey has not been smooth sailing as she has encountered many detours along the way.
Oftentimes turning to secular behaviors and activities, seeking self gratification, not attending church
for years at a time, and ultimately becoming a single unwed mother. Through it all, the highs and the
lows, Nicole is still a devout Christian; on a journey to rededicate her life to Christ, removing
unhealthy people and situations from her life, focusing on God, and fully going after the life that God
intended for her. Over the course of religious and faith development, there will be times that each
individual steps outside of the will of God, as no one is perfect. Through these obstacles and rebellious
acts, God corrects and reforms one s behaviors as the individual draws nearer to him. In this way, faith
development is similar to the social learning theory. The social learning theory deals with
observational learning and how individuals learn through imitating and modeling other s

  • 3. Representation Of African American Films The medium of film and television have not been effectively coding the many American conflicts of the past decades. The roles of superheroes, villains, and antiheroes have always been used in every film and media directly or indirectly, introducing which is which. Since the beginning of modern film, many movies plots and conflicts have revolved around a protagonist or several protagonists faced with an opposing force that is disturbing the order of things, usually another individual bent on malicious intent. A battle between the good and the bad, the heroic and the villainous. Unfortunately, the conflicts between good and bad have not been effectively introduced through this medium. Throughout history, the definition of what is good and what is bad has also changed slightly as a result of the effects of the Sexual Revolution and the Judeo Christian ethic, and this has indeed been reflected in the more modern movies of today. ... Furthermore, the lack of films and media coverage of educational reform has made audiences uninformed about this issue. On the other hand, the medium of film has succeeded in providing an effective discussion of income inequality in America. • 9. The Study Of Psychology And Psychology Firstly, it is important to know what is meant by the term science , and then to establish whether psychology adheres to this. The Oxford English Dictionary defines science as the study or knowledge of the physical world, based on observation and experiment . This immediately raises issues about this debate as many areas of psychological research do not involve the observable. For example, the areas of Clinical and Counselling psychology rely on a patient s thoughts and feelings to help determine whether they suffer from a mental disorder. Furthermore, psychology has become more scientific by the need to move away from pseudo scientific perspectives. One such perspective, is Freud s Psychodynamic approach. This focuses on the subconscious mind, and as this phenomena cannot be observed, it has been argued that the Psychodynamic perspective is unfalsifiable and untestable. Both of these elements are key parts of what makes a science. However, others have argued that the Psychodynamic perspective is testable, but that it has just failed those tests (Hansson, 2015). review The Behavioural perspective was the first to try and move psychology as a subject away from the unscientific by focusing on observable and measurable behaviour to gain empirical evidence. Moreover, since the 1970s, the Biological perspective has grown hugely with neuropsychology now being a dominant approach. From the 14th Century to the 15th Century, humans were raveled by famines, disruption of socio economics, and lost of faith in the Catholic Church. To the eyes of many at the time, this era was looked at as a major decline of life. With the many deaths, poor condition for poor people, and the schism of the Church, it may seem easy to call this era a decline. Although upon closer looking, this era is more of a transitional period into the next period than a decline due to many reasons. Limitations Of Selective Perception Selective perception is an aspect that influence decision making corresponding to the hypothesis of Hastorf and Cantrill which states that out of all the occurrences going on in the environment, people will choose those that is important to them in their own egocentric perception. Specifically, in the study of escalation of commitment Biyalogorsky, Boulding, and Staelin established that one of the most influential drivers of intensification is biased belief updates. In the investigation, students received statistics regarding recent merchandise with the history of its marketed competitors, based on this information they had to decide whether the organization should invest 2.5 million to improve and relaunch the product. Additionally, in the second part of the experiment the students received new information that was negative about the net present value forecast for the investment. Notably, the result of the experiment reveals that the student did not update their beliefs concurring to the new information, and in the final analysis, their evaluation was influenced by their initial beliefs. It was in a way painful to watch since from the beginning the audience would know what was going to happen. There are various elements that made this film an interesting disheartening comedy drama. Throughout the film the shot (lighting, costume, and set design) set the whole experience. To some the shot and camerawork and the number one priority but lack the action and dialogue and the proper actors, but beginners seemed to have a balance, much like other films. The lighting throughout the film seemed to fit the mood for example, during some scenes the shot looked smoky or cloudy, but never dark and in scenes with Hal the sun seemed to shine every time he was in the shot, and when he was happy. Another important element in the shot is costume, and it plays a major role because the way someone is dressed helps people understand them better. The costumes fit each character, and although the costumes were simple they played a role in understating the character. Lastly the set design in the film was remarkable. The director ... Explain the difference between: The sequence of and rate of development And why this difference is important The sequence of development refers to the usual order in which development occurs. The main difference between the sequence and the rate is that the sequence is the order in which development takes place, whilst the rate is the time frame given for the average development of a child at a certain age. The sequence of development is like a milestone as children usually finish one area of development before moving to another. The novella begins with the short story The Shawl . The shawl is quite short, but it leaves an emotional impact on the reader that isn t forgotten throughout the entire book. The setting of The Shawl is in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. A young mother named Rosa is trying to stay alive with her very young baby Magda, and her niece Stella. Although she only a baby, Magda had the features of an aryan . This was probably another reason Stella did such an evil deed. Stella without remorse stole Magda s only thread of hope for survival. The shawl that stella stole was the only driving force keeping Magda alive. She purposefully ripped it from her to lead to her demise. This really showed who stella was and who she was always going to be. • 36. Accurate Timekeeping At Sea In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries clock making was a vital European technology, and London was at its cutting edge. As a maritime nation, the British were concerned with one problem in particular: they could make clocks that kept very good time as long as they stayed perfectly still but not when they were shaken about, and particularly not on board a rolling ship. If you wanted to sail, it was impossible to keep a precise record of time. And at sea, if you can t tell the time, you don t how far east or west you are. It is relatively easy to calculate latitude your distance north or south of the equator by measuring the height of the Sun above the horizon at noon; but this won t let you calculate longitude your position east or west. The problem of accurate timekeeping at sea was finally fixed in the middle of the eighteenth century by John Harrison. He invented a marine chronometer which could go on accurately telling the time in spite of the changes in temperature and humidity and the constant movement of a ship. This made it possible for ships anywhere to establish their longitude. Before a ship set sail, its chronometer would be set to the local time in harbor for the British this was usually Greenwich. You would then compare the time at Greenwich with the time of noon on the ship, which you fixed by the Sun. The difference between the two times gave you your longitude. For the twenty four hours in the day, every hour the Sun moves across the sky that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aldahmashi University of Pittsburgh Motor Learning and Control of Movement Dr. Susan Whitney November 2, 2014 Introduction Falling is described as resting on the ground or the floor accidently without being caused by intrinsic incident or tremendous hazard (Ayoubi Launay, 2014; Tuunainen, Rasku, Jäntti, Pyykkö, 2014). It is also defined as unexpected, unintended, unprovoked alteration in body position causing an individual to be in an inferior level and not resulted from internal disturbance (Menant, Schoene, Sarofim, Lord, 2014). Background Information Fall is the major cause of injury in the elderly, which places more load on the health care system (Krasovsky, Lamontagne, Feldman, Levin, 2014). Samuel D. Towne Jr. and his colleagues conducted a study to calculate the cost of hospitalizing older people as a result of falling in Texas Hospital. 77,086 fallers were hospitalized, costing around 3.1 billion dollars in 2011, which is an increase of around 2 billion dollars since 2007 (Towne, Ory, Smith, 2014). Moreover, fall directly causes 21,649 deaths and indirectly causes 5,402 deaths in the United States in 2010 (Stevens Rudd, 2014). Also, 420,000 individuals around the world die yearly because of falling (Mignardot et al., 2014). Definition Essay On Good Analysis Good Jesse Roux The True, Good, and Beautiful March 17, 2017 As we have learned by defining truth and how it is based on an unwavering and dogmatic stance, which is faith in God Love, and is absolute. Absolute truth starts with God and ends with God, truth looks at the Bible for what it is and what it says, and not with independence or interpretation. Now, what is good and can we define it? In the American society, it is evident that individuals want to brand good as personally defined and not absolute, however, for something to be truly good , it has to be good for the whole world, meaning it cannot constantly change between persons. Therefore, what is good must be defined by something unchanging, for that reason, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Goodness as defined by truth is our guidance for how to live, reason, communicate, and comprehend in a secular world. Without a firm stance on what is good, based on absolute truth, we (again) would be left to find the answers for ourselves in a modernist and postmodernist fashion. This is most notable in many of Shakespeare s tragedies since he uses many of the same faults of man to create a tragic ending. One of these recurring fatal flaws is ambition, and interestingly enough, Shakespeare crafts his work in such a way that the characters all show their passionate ambition in very different ways depending on the story. These drastic actions show how ambitious Hamlet was to avenge the wrongful death of his father and remove Claudius from the throne. Claudius is the other major example of ambition in the story, as shown through his drastic measures taken to assure that no one discovers that he killed the King and used his death as an opportunity to take up the crown. It is revealed to Hamlet by his father s ghost that Claudius killed the former ruler in his own garden by pouring poison into his ear. This is very characteristic of Shakespeare s tragedies, characters will kill each other off for their own ambitious agendas without hesitation for morals or law and Claudius fits into this trend perfectly. To further ensure that his status as king is not compromised, he seduces the King s wife, Gertrude, and attempts to get Hamlet to forget his father by calling his grief childish and a hindrance to his role as the prince (365). The King s ghost informs Hamlet that Gertrude was one of the most virtuous women alive and wouldn t have taken lightly to his sudden death, so it is apparent that Claudius took extreme measures to get Gertrude on his side. To go through all this work to ensure that he remained in power proves that Claudius was just as ambitious to achieve power as Hamlet was to remove him from it. • 42. Different Types Of Economics Within The Game Show Industry The business that I have chosen for this project is TV Game Shows. Over the next few pages, I will show different types of economics within the game show industry. Cash prizes are paid by the show, and the money comes from the producers, who are paid by the advertisers/network. There can be a couple of safeguards that make this a little easier for the shows: They can have an insurance policy to protect them from huge losses. For example, the insurance company says, we ve studied the odds of your game, and we ll sell you a policy for $200,000 up front, that pays out full prize money any time someone wins $100,000 or more during this season of the show. Obviously this is all about a smart insurance company who has studied the gameplay and sorted out the odds of how many players will win big, but the point is that the show doesn t have to worry about it. They can let the insurance company work it out, and the show then has a nice fixed cost expense they can reliably drop into their production budget and not think about it. For really big prizes ($1,000,000), shows may pay similar to a lottery, where the money is in a fund that pays over x amount of years, or the winner can take a reduced lump sum immediately. For example, if you were to win $1 million on a show, they might tell you (after the show is done taping) okay! We can give you $50,000 a year for the next 20 years, or we can pay you $450,000 lump sum right now and that s all you get. And of course, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their views, though radically different, impacted the world in the greatest of ways, altering history for many nations. While Nietzsche, a German philosopher from the 1800s, spoke from a materialistic point of view, believing that there is no god and that all that exists is matter, King, a civil rights activist of the 1900s, spoke from the belief in transcendence, that there is indeed a god, and that he exists in a divine realm outside of this universe. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against bullying and contributing to the cause.
