Essay on Solving HealthCare’s eMail Security Problem
Solving HealthCare s eMail Security Problem
Abstract
While healthcare organizations have come to depend heavily on electronic mail, they do so without a
significant email security infrastructure. New Federal law and regulation place new obligations on the
organizations to either secure their email systems or drastically restrict their use. This paper discusses
email security in a healthcare context. The paper considers and recommends solutions to the
healthcare organization s problem in securing its mail. Because email encryption will soon be a
categorical requirement for healthcare organizations, email encryption is discussed in some detail. The
paper describes details and benefits of domain level encryption model and considers how PKI ... Show

Although these security standards have not yet been finalized, in August of 1998, HHS did publish in
45 CFR Part 142 a proposal for that Security Standard. That Notice of
Proposed Rule Making did include a number of specific security implementation features. Particularly
relevant to email use is a specification for encryption of health information communicated over any
network for which the transmitter cannot control access (45 CFR Part 142.308[d][1][ii]). This
restriction clearly is intended to apply to the healthcare organization s Internet bound electronic mail.
This paper broadly outlines steps that healthcare organizations can take to ensure the security of their
electronic mail use. A substantial portion of this activity has a Security
101 aspect to it. Healthcare organizations are generally exposed to the same Internet borne threats as
any other type organization. As a result, healthcare organizations do well to follow the general
recommendations for email security provided in documents such as NIST s Guidelines for Electronic
Mail Security . Healthcare organizations do have business imperatives and legal obligations, however,
that may encumber routine application of email security best practice. Therefore, this paper will
provide a healthcare industry context to its discussion of electronic mail security.
Risks Associated with Electronic Mail Use
Generally speaking there are three classes of email related risk that

Giovanni Bellini Research Paper
Of all the artists from the European Renaissance to have come from Venice, perhaps the most
important one of them all was Giovanni Bellini. Many of his works such as The Feast of the Gods,
Agony in the Garden, and Holy Allegory have become known around the world thanks to various
museums and their exhibits. Interestingly, there is the subject of his life story overall. Regarding this,
Philip Hendy wrote in one article for Encyclopedia Britannica, Giovanni Bellini, (born c. 1430, Venice
[Italy] died 1516, Venice), Italian painter who, in his work, reflects the increasing interest of the
Venetian artistic milieu in the stylistic innovations and concerns of the Renaissance (Hendy). Hendy

were keenly interested in the relationship between light and color . . . Additionally, the Venetian
painters had a distinct method of brushwork. It s rather smooth, and makes for a velvety surface
texture (Esaak). In other words, Venetian Renaissance art tends to have contrasting relationships
between lighting and color in order to create a certain mood or emphasize a certain detail, and that the
colors faded into each other, thus creating smooth transitions with almost outlines around shapes. In
Giovanni Bellini s Crucifixion, the sunlight is particularly shined on Jesus, which is juxtaposed by the
green grass below him. Plus, the colors smoothly transition to each other, thus leaving any shape
outlines almost invisible. Furthermore, the natural world was a prevalent theme in not just Venetian
Renaissance art, but the Renaissance as a whole. Jessie Szalay once wrote for Livescience, Both
classical and Renaissance art focused on human beauty and nature (Szalay). In Bellini s Crucifixion,
the aforementioned grass has a bright, green color to it, and has a highly detailed

Differences Between The Egyptian Culture And General...
In today s world, cross culture communication is used every day within every industry. The ability to
communicate effectively between two cultures can be quite a difficult task. In this essay some do s and
don ts regarding cross cultural communication on a business level between the Egyptian culture and
general Western culture will be discussed. The essay will explain the differences in listening and
responding in regards to communicating, relationships, and business etiquette. The differences
between Individualism and collectivism will be discussed along with the Power stance outline in Geert
Hofstede s cultural comparison of Egypt and Australia (Hofstede 2013).
Egypt s population is mostly dominated by one culture with (94%) following the Sunni Islamic faith.
The rest of the population is made up of a Coptic Christian faith following (6%) (Commisceo Global
2014). With such a dominant presences of Islamic faith in the community, day to day business is
conducted heavily around their customs. In Geert Hofstede s comprehensive research into national
values throughout the world we can see the many difference and similarities between different cultures
all around the world.
In Hofstede s findings Egypt is considered a collectivistic society. Unlike many western cultures the
general population is committed to putting the needs of the community above their own. Their social
rules promote selflessness and encourage working together to support others and do what s best for

Revenge In Hamlet And Othello
Across his many works, William Shakespeare commonly uses revenge not only as a motive for
individuals but as a driving force for the entire plot. This appears in both Hamlet, in which the hero
seeks revenge for the murder of his father, and Othello, in which the villain seeks revenge for the
promotion of the less qualified Michael Cassio. Though Shakespeare portrays these characters
conversely, their ends and means mirror each other. Readers can draw parallels between Prince
Hamlet and Iago: they both have a desire for revenge, a meticulous methodology, and the intellect
needed to tie together their plans. Using their intellect, both Prince Hamlet and Iago form elaborate
plans, manipulate those around them, and, after much suffering, achieve their goals. At the discovery
of his father s murder, Hamlet quickly springs into planning how to revenge [King Hamlet s] ... most
unnatural murder and builds his plan around the opportunities presented by the arrival of Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern, the play put on by the acting troupe, and young Fortinbras desire to cross Denmark
s borders (I.v.25). As Eric Levy, an emeritus professor at University of British Columbia, writes, the
mental awareness that Hamlet possesses eventually exceeds his own unaided cognitive powers,
causing the spiral of madness that ultimately brings the play to its violent end (9). Before this madness
overtakes him, however, Hamlet devises the plan to verify Claudius guilt and prepare the perfect

The Big Short
The Big Short Report
One of the topics I found most interesting in this book was the differences between the stock market
and the bond market that Michael Lewis to some extent explains in the beginning of chapter three.
While the stock market was intensely regulated and mostly transparent, the bond market consisted of
primarily large institutions and escaped serious regulation. This lack of legislative control played a
great part in allowing the credit default swaps on subprime mortgage bonds, CDO s, and the eventual
collapse of the subprime market. Following the subprime mortgage crisis, the Department of the
Treasury released a new regulatory plan, The Department of the Treasury Blueprint for a Modernized
Financial Regulatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the Paulson Plan held off a major financial crisis and attempted to address many of the
issues that were the cause of the crisis, improvements could have been made that would have a more
lasting positive effect on the American financial system. According to an article in the Wall Street
Journal, the plan needed to achieve at three objectives. It needed to prevent a deep and prolonged
recession, achieve that first objective at the lowest possible costs to the U.S. taxpayer, and it should
not bail out the existing investors. As stated in the article, the Treasury plan addresses only the first
objective, and only indirectly. While the article gave many suggestions for improving the plan,
perhaps the most useful was the recommendation to require all regulated financial institutions to raise
2% of their assets in additional capital to preserve the stability of the financial system. This mandate
should ensure that no individual bank sends an adverse signal to the market, which should cause
investors to not lose confidence in the banks. Another key event described in The Big Short, was when
American International Group found a way to insure subprime mortgage loans while being able to
bury these risks on its balance sheet. This was made possible by the fact that AIG was a triple A rated
corporation with an enormous

Claudius as Evil in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essay
Claudius as Evil in Hamlet by William Shakespeare
The abstract concept of evil has vastly transformed throughout human history, ranging for the
supernatural and mystical to the very humans amongst whom we live. In modern times, evil has
become an entirely ambiguous term. Who is evil? What is evil? Men like Adolph Hitler and Saddam
Hussein have been garnered with the term evil for their atrocities against fellow humans. Now it
seems evil has a solely human significance; when a person violates the individual rights of others on a
massive scale, he/she is evil. In Shakespeare s time the Elizabethan era evil had a similar, but
somewhat altered connotation in the human mind. Evil was an entity that violated the English

Claudius propensity towards fabrications is in direct violation with the Holy Commandment Thou
shalt not bear false witness; hence, he violates one of the pillars of Christian moral law.
Claudius lies are effective enough to persistently deceive to play s antagonist, Hamlet. Despite Hamlet
s disgust with Claudius for marrying Gertrude, and his view of Claudius as a king of shreds and
patches (III.iv.104), Hamlet suspicion of Claudius as a murderer is preliminarily nonexistent. The
appearance of a spirit claiming to be Hamlet s dead father first alerts Hamlet to the actions of that
incestuous, that adulterate beast, /With witchcraft of his with, with traitorous gifts (I.v.42 3). And yet
still, Hamlet remains hesitant to believe that Claudius was the murderer, searching for complementary
evidence. The play that Hamlet enacts designed to catch the conscience of the king (II.ii.562) succeeds
in revealing Claudius guilt, but does not provoke instant action on Hamlet s part. So effective is
Claudius manipulation of the royal circle that he manages to almost permanently stay the revelation of
his guilt, and if it weren t for supernatural intervention against an injustice, he may never have been
exposed.
The most odious of Claudius crimes is his lack of emotion over his

Status of Women in Indian Society... a Study
Status of women in society
A project report
Present scenario of the status of women in Indian society
According to India s constitution, women are legal citizens of the country and have equal rights with
men (Indian Parliament). Because of lack of acceptance from the male dominant society, Indian
women suffer immensely. Women are responsible for bearing children, yet they are malnourished and
in poor health. Women are also overworked in the fields and complete all of the domestic work. Most
Indian women are uneducated. Although the country s constitution says women have equal status as of
men, women are powerless and are mistreated inside and outside the home.
India is a society where the male is greatly revered. Therefore women, ... Show more content on

Educated/literate women will be better able to manage their families, so that their children become
good citizens of the country.
Mothers create the foundation stone on which children can build their careers and grow to become
respectable citizens.
The family is the foundation for building sustaining any nation and women is an important aspect of a
family.
Family participation should not be limited to their children only but must also include children of
relatives, neighbors and the less privileged. Since people do not live in isolation, we must encourage
mothers to participate in the parenting of people in and outside of their own families.
Young and even older children must also participate in supporting the family activities on a regular
basis. Through family participation, values can be instilled that will build and sustain a great nation.
My views
A woman is an architect of society. She establishes the institution of family life, builds the home,
brings up the children and makes them good citizens. Her strength in totality contributes in the making
of an ideal family, ideal society and an ideal state.
The question is how secure a woman is in her family and society and what is her socio economic and
political status. The position of women in any society is the indicator of health of the state.
Women contribute to society in many, many ways! There are very, very few professions that

“Coral Reefs Represent Some Of The World’S Most Spectacular
Coral reefs represent some of the world s most spectacular beauty spots, but they are also the
foundation of marine life: without them many of the seas most exquisite species will not survive.
(Sheherazade Goldsmith) Imagine scuba diving in the glistening coasts of the Philippines, swimming
swiftly near the vibrant coral reefs with splashes of red, orange, and green. Submerged by the beauty
of the underwater world, fishes of all species come inspect their new visitor while you watch in awe at

There are many threats to the coral reefs, but one of the worst things that we do to damage of them are
using dynamite and cyanide to catch our fishes. Dynamite fishing is particularly used near Tanzania,
because fishermen find it easier to catch fish by killing them and the letting them float to the surface.
Rather than them using a net, because it would either snag on the coral reef or miss all the fishes. The
dynamite technique consists of throwing any type of dynamite or waterproof exploding object, into the
water, waiting for it to reach the coral reef (home to the fishes). Paddling away from the explosive,
then pushing the button which will explode the coral reef. Last, you collect the dead fish that float to
the top of the water, because their air bladders cause them to become resilient. Some fishermen use
dynamite fishing at night to catch even more fish, which may sound weird because they can t see
anything at night. However, what happens is the fishermen shine a bright light into the water, which
attracts small and large fish. Then with a push of a button they explode the dynamite causing all of
those animals to die, but in addition to the fish they also kill shrimp and crabs without knowing. A
man from the World Wildlife Fund observed the explosions, and created a chart based on his findings.
Then he concluded that around nineteen

The Theme of Colonialism in Shakespeare s Tempest Essay...
The Tempest, by Shakespeare, offers the reader a variety of themes. The one theme that stands out the
most is that of colonialism. During the time of Shakespeare, many European countries such as Spain,
France, and England, were expanding their borders by taking over less developed countries, referred
to as colonies. During this time of exploitation, there was skepticism concerning the possible success
of the colonies. While some scholars believe that the play is about the Americas, I argue that the play
reflects on colonialism in general and how it is destined for failure which is shown through the
character s relationships throughout the play. During the 1600 s the English decided to have people
colonize in the Americas for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to these debates, it s possible that Shakespeare has contemplated on the different views on
colonization and decided not only to create the setting of the play on an island, but uses the storm in
the first act as way to create excitement and danger and also to reference to the perils of the struggle of
exploration. Also the title of the play is The Tempest which also hints how powerful the storms of the
ocean are, that it can determine the fate of many people as seen in the play; and is relatable to real life
events such as the one described earlier. The Tempest also reflect the concerns of the times such as the
exploration of foreign lands and struggles for power and the colonization of lands as seen in the role
of the characters in the play. The roles the characters have in the play are an essential in the expression
of colonization and how it destined for failure. In The Tempest, Shakespeare shows hints of
colonization problems in a subtle manner. The character Prospero, for example, can be seen playing
the role of the colonist, because he was usurped from his dukedom for neglecting his duties as a duke,
he sees the island as a way to be able to exercise the power he had but did not exercise in his
dukedom. In this case, he s able to use all the knowledge and magic he knows to be able to conjure up
the storm and to be able to control nature. His control over

Reflective Essay On Professionalism
Professionalism can be defined as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession
or a professional person. (Merriam webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism
is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do
we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying professionalism?
Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective
practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when practitioners engage in a continuous
cycle of self observation and self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions
they prompt in themselves (becoming a better university teacher...). In the day to day life, everyone
performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional
it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to
find a way to effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation
therapy students.
There is a simple three step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen that
really stood out to me. Reflective practice should not be complicated or time consuming or else it will
not be done efficiently or effectively. We need reflective practice to become habit during our school
years in order for it to be

Building A Conventional Sewage Treatment Facility
As in the case of rural non point source pollution; urban areas are not likely to fix all contamination
problems with one system. While it may be possible to build a conventional sewage treatment facility
that can handle any storm condition it is not likely that this will ever be cost feasible to do. One type
of larger combined sewage system that is being tried in several locations around the county where
proper topography allows is the aquatic marsh system. In this type of system sewage still goes through
the primary treatment of separation out the larger solids. Once these solids have settled out it move on

While the wet land treatment system is very effective in treating large quantities of sewage it still falls
short of the large problem. It still is not treating the problem at its source. There are other options and
systems that are in place to deal with urban pollution issues and flooding. Some example of systems
that have the potential to mitigate urban at their source are implementing low impact development,
installation of sand filters, infiltration trenches permeable pavers, storm water planters and green
roofs. Low impact development (LID) is not a new concept but is still considered innovated when
being discussed. LID is a storm water management program that manages storm water on site
compare to conventional systems that pipe it off to a central treatment facility or directly into local
water ways. Storms waters in the natural environment normally soak into the ground and are filter by
the soils and vegetation. When areas are urbanized the water now running off taking contaminate with
them. These waters can flow at fast rates causing increased flooding. The goals of LID are to lessen
the impact storm waters on the natural environment, use land more efficiently, and help to lower cost.

The United States And Soviet Union Essay
The 1980 s were a dynamic time in the life cycle of the Cold War. The early portion of this decade,
which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained an
atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was the
logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and militarization.
Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War belligerents, and contrary to the early rhetoric of
the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their perceptions of each
other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite producing no tangible results,
established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of the Cold War. This warming of
relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered significant hurdles as the two nations
attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war. Ultimately, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail
Gorbachev s dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one administration to the next, while also
weathering significant domestic pressures as the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated.
Doubt and insecurity largely characterized the Cold War in the late 1970s and early stages of the
Reagan presidency. Following the rise and fall of détente, the collapse of the Nixon administration,
and the expansion of alarmist groups such as the Committee on the Present Danger, the Soviet Union

techniques, to create different effects in the opening sequence and further on in the film. Many of
these film techniques can be seen in the opening scene where Marion Crane meets her lover (Sam)
who she is having an affair with. The two characters can be seen meeting at a cheap hotel during
Marion s extended lunch break, they discuss the progression of their relationship and how they cannot
afford to get married. However, their conversation ends when Marion must return to her work, at the
real estate agents. Hitchcock uses these techniques such as camera angles, diegetic sound and non
diegetic sound etc. to give a specific effect which will go on to build up the main themes of the film.
In the beginning of the opening scene, the film shows the skyline of Phoenix before zooming into the
window of a hotel room. Hitchcock cleverly uses these camera angles to build up the theme of
voyeurism, giving the effect of curiosity to the audience. The first appearance of voyeurism is when
the camera zooms in from the establishing shot of the city to reveal the window of the cheap hotel
room, where the couple, Marion and Sam stayed in. The use of a high angle shot looking down
towards the window of the hotel creates the feeling that the couple is being watched or possibly being
spied on. This leaves an effect on the audience, as the angle gives a sense of judgement making the
audience to judge

Fellini Essay
Fellini When Ida and Urbano Fellini bore their first son, Federico, they must have known that he
would be far from a calm easygoing person. On the evening of January 20, 1940, the weather at the
seaside resort of Rimini on the Adriatic coast of Italy, was not pleasant. There was thunder, lightning,
high seas, winds, and heavy rains; quite a setting for the entrance of one who was to be regarded as
one of the greatest film directors in history.
Urbano was prominent salesman of confectionaries and preserves, and dreamed of training his son for
the bar. Ida, who had a vibrant personality and a flair for art, was mainly in charge of raising Federico
and his younger siblings, Riccado and Maddalena.
Fellini was a fairly good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fellini had a small group of friends, of which he seemed to be the ringleader. They would play jokes
on the other children and on the teachers in his school. During confession, Federico would often make
up sins just to hear the reaction of the priest; setting fire to his own home, causing the deaths of
hundreds of people, axing a priest to death, and kicking a friend during recess.
The director was born tow years after Mussolini came to power and introduced fascism to Italy. Like
all students, Fellini joined a fascist youth group and wore the uniform required for member ship. As a
small, personal revolt against the norm, Federico would often make minor mistakes, like not having
his fez, or wearing brown shoes instead of black.
All of these aspects of his personality, including his love for women and his incredible artistic
qualities could be readily seen in his films. His most famous movies are often considered grotesque,
many of which are scored by Nino Rota and starring Fellini s wife, Giulietta Masini. Fellini
collaborated as a scriptwriter with Roberto Rosselini on the films The Open City and Paisan, which he
directed some of. His first film as solo director was the White Shark, which as followed by I Vitelloni.
La Strada won international recognition with its Oscar for best foreign film. Fellini s second Oscar
was with the Nights of Cabiria.

Somnambulism In Macbeth
If the tragedy was to be read in the light of modern psychopathology the interpretation will be found
that Lady Macbeth is an accurate example of portraying the disease hysteria. It has been demonstrated
that there is a rigid determinism in the mental world and that psychophysical processes are the result
of a certain chain of causation of either conscious or unconscious. It has been repeatedly demonstrated
that the resistance offered by the memory of emotional experience may sometimes be so great that it
produces a dissociation or splitting of consciousness.
Somnambulism is one of the most marked forms of splitting of consciousness that is most liable to
occur in the disease hysteria, which is a form of mental dissociation. Characteristics of somnambulism
are that images are clearly represented and the subject seems to see and hear everything. In each
somnambulistic state the subject repeats the same words and makes the same gestures as in the
original experience which was responsible for the cause of the somnambulistic state (Pierre).
Somnambulism may assume various types of sleep walking or it may develop to such a high degree
that the subjects may wander in strange places for hours or days, and lose memory of their real
personality. It can also create hallucinations of the various senses, and the subject speaks to imaginary
persons or hears imaginary voices (Pierre). Hallucinations also occur in the sense of smell as in Lady
Macbeth s sleepwalking scene, it is

There is no right and wrong; everything is relative: there are no absolutes, everything is relative to the
emerging church.[10] The emerging church leaders consider fundamentalist, orthodox church and
worship service with hymns as stagnant and failing to interact with and impact the culture. They see to
resovle that by shedding themselves of traditionalism (which they see as modernism( and adapt to the
culture.[11] Emerging church adherents see a cultural shift from knowledge to experience. The
traditional evangelical view begins with facts which influence belief, which influences behavior, the
emerging church begins with experience which influences behavior, which influences belief.[12] Thus
the emergent church places a geat emphasis on truth.[13] The emerging church movement consists of
a diverse group of people who identify with Christianity, but who feel that reaching the postmodern
world would requires it to radically reshape the chruch s beliefs and practices to conform to
postmodernism.[14] Six Major Viewpoints of the Emerging Church Movement 1. The Bible Emerging

Csikszentmihalyi s Happiness Revisited
Authored by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Happiness Revisited is a study on happiness and creativity.
Csikszentmihalyi defines happiness in terms of how we achieve it. He suggests that people achieve
happiness not by trying to look for it directly (609) but by looking for it directly. He also added that by
achieving control over the contents of our consciousness (609), a circuitous path begins, thus the
beginning of achieving happiness. Further, Csikszentmihalyi stated that just like happiness, success is
not to be pursued but ensued. This statement is ideally illustrated by Viktor Frankl s book on Man s
Search for meaning: Don t aim at success the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are
going to miss it (609). As quoted by Csikszentmihalyi that people often end up feeling that their lives
have been wasted, and instead of being filled with happiness their years were spent in anxiety and
boredom (608). He added that despite the comfort of today s modern living; the contentment does not

As an adult student without any academic intellectual stimulation for the past two decades, I consider
the best moments of happiness by advancing to the next level of courses towards the end of the
semester, not to mention the bonus of making to the HCC s dean s list. However, the circuitous path
towards that academic path described includes many sleep nights, no weekends off and holidays spent
on studying. An illustration of optimal experience wherein intellectual capacity is stretched to its limit
that makes an accomplishment feels even more special. Thus, what Csikszentmihalyi described in his
theory on optimal experience wherein the laboring experiences may not be as pleasant at the time of

Hillary Clinton Women s Rights Are Human Rights Speech...
In the past, women didn t have as many rights as men. They were seen as men s possessions who were
only allowed to cook, clean, and make babies. Women weren t allowed as many privileges as men
such as voting. But as the years went by, changes were made. Women were granted many of the same
privileges as men, but they were still being mistreated in some perspectives. On September 5, 1995 in
Beijing, China, Hillary Clinton delivered a speech about this issue at the United Nations Fourth World
Conference for Women in front of 180 countries. Her speech was called Women s Rights are Human
Rights . She gave this speech to express her concern over the mistreatment women have been facing.
Clinton directed her speech to governments and other organizations to argue why they need to help
improve women s rights. Clinton uses ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade her audience that women
should be treated equally. Clinton uses ethos in her speech to persuade her audience by showing them
your credibility. Ethos is an effective way to persuade an audience. This helps to show the audience
that the speaker knows what they re talking about. As First Lady and Senator, Clinton shows she has
credibility on the topic by saying Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating
to women, children, and families. Over the past two and a half years. I ve has the opportunity to learn
more about the challenges facing women in my own country and around the world (Clinton 2).

Mentor New Leaders Within Your Organization
As a leader, it is important to mentor new leaders within your organization. Encouraging confidence in
the new leaders will help establish competence in their field. Competence can also be achieved when
an education has been invested in the new leader s future. With the new knowledge of skills and
education, the new leader will feel self confident in the leadership position. After the establishment of
self confidence, the mentoring of the new leader must continue to set a precedent of continued
support. The continued support will further strengthen the new leaders in their capabilities.
Encourage Confidence in New Leaders Common causes that can contribute to a new leader feeling
inadequate include, a lack of resources and lack of knowledge to feel confident in their new position.
These concerns could lead to feeling overwhelmed and could sabotage the performance of the new
leader. Unfortunately, when resources are available, but the leader still lacks the self confidence to
take advantage the same problem will occur.
Kouzes (2012) explains [d]eveloping competence and building confidence are essential to delivering
on the organization s promises and maintaining the credibility of leaders and team members alike. For
a company to exhibit exemplary performance an investment in the quality of leaders and staff must be
executed. The term co active leader in front is defined as a leader that nurtures relationships with their

Early and Mid 19th Century Thought Essay
Early and Mid 19th Century Thought
Throughout history, there have been many isms that had come and gone. Many things have come out
of these so called isms.
Romanticism began in the closing decades of the eighteenth century. It practically dominated
European cultural life in most of the first half of the nineteenth century. Poets such as Shelley,
Wordsworth, Keats, and Byron were all exponents of romanticism. This was expressed in many
different ways such as Writing, art and music.
Victor Hugo, A.W., Friedrich Schlegel, Schiller and Schelling all expressed their thoughts of
romanticism through writing. Caspar David Friedrich and John Constable expressed their thoughts on
romanticism on canvas through art. Later on, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liberals attacked the state and other authorities that prevented the individual from exercising the right
of free choice, interfered with the right of free expression.
To the traditional rulers of Europe #8212;kings, aristocrats, and clergy #8212;the French Revolution
was a great evil, which had inflicted a near fatal wound on civilization. Edmund Burke s Reflections
on the Revolution in France was instrumental in shaping conservative thought. Burke, an Anglo Irish
statesman and political theorist, wanted to warn his countrymen of the dangers inherent in the
ideology of the revolutionaries.
Conservatism pointed to a limitation of the enlightenment. It showed that human beings and social
relationships are far more complex than the philosphes had imagined. They often find familiar
customs and ancestral religions more satisfying guides to life than the blueprints of philosophers.
Conservative theorists warned that revolutionary violence in the pursuit of utopian dreams transforms
politics into an ideological crusade that ends in terror and despotism.
Nationalism is a conscious bond shared by a group of people who feel strongly attached to a particular

Old Testament Redemption Essay
In order to prepare an evaluation of the similarities between Old Testament (OT) and New Testament
(NT) redemption I believe it would be appropriate to first start with the definition of redemption.
Redemption defined by The Lexham Bible Dictionary is
The release of people, animals, or property from bondage through the payment of a price.
Old Testament Origins The two Hebrew root words associated with redemption are
1. ‫ל‬ ‫ָּגַא‬ (ga al), meaning redeem or act as a kinsman redeemer
2. ‫ה‬‫ָּפָד‬ (padah), meaning ransom or redeem
One of the most miraculous acts of OT redemption refers to how God enabled Moses to bring the
Israelites out of Egypt after 430 years (Ex 12:40 English Standard Version or ESV) of bondage.
Pharaoh s heart was hard and he would not listen to God s warnings. The price paid was very high for
Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Losing all of their first born children and livestock proved to be too much.
As a result Pharaoh finally decided to release the Israelites. The redemption of God s chosen people

Similar to the Brazen Altar it was also made of acacia wood and had a horn at each corner. It was
placed just outside the Holy of Holies (or Most Holy Place) and was to be kept burning continuously
day and night. The rising smoke from the burning incense signifies the intercession and prayers of
God s people. King David wrote in Ps. 141:2 (ESV) Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice! Christ is our intercessor. While Christ was on
earth He prayed or interceded for His disciples. Just like today He intercedes for us. He acts as our

The Importance Of Effective Communication
Effective Communication Effective communication can be a hard skill to develop. Changes in the way
society communicates has made methods of getting a message to a larger audience easier but it has
also hindered the development of active listening skills. Written communication and effective listening
are two areas that I am continually striving to enhance. Effective Listening De Janasz, Dowd, and
Schneider provided multiple factors that contribute to the inability to listen effectively. I often find it
hard to listen in specific situations such as long meetings, individuals that take a long time to get to the
point, subjects that I do not have an interest in. I have tried different methods to overcome my
shortfalls; yet, I never thought about the root causes. Physiological limitations, I work in a large office
and if I am out on the main floor having a conversation with a team member often my visual cues start
taking over. I can see other things that need my attention and I start feeling as if the conversation
needs to be rushed so I can attend to something else. I have started to sit down and have a
conversation with the person I am talking to rather than walking over to the desk and hovering while
we are talking. This is helping me stay focused on the person, rather than seeing the multitude of
situations that are happening around me. Boredom is another factor I am working to overcome;
especially in long meetings. I often find myself wondering off and

Fast Food Rhetorical Analysis
Health Disorders Related to Fast Food
This rhetorical analysis is over the effects of fast food and the health of the person eating it. Eat fast,
die young is the motto of the second spoof ad. The reality is that this spoof ad is accurate. Studies over
the past 30 to 50 years show that fast food and junk food is extremely unhealthy and causes obesity,
heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and several other diseases. Most fast food restaurants
serve high caloric and low density foods. That means one get a lot of calories and very little nutrition
value from the food. Obesity rates have steadily climbed over the past 60 years as have the number of
fast food restaurants. The prevalence of obesity and obesity related diseases has increased rapidly in
the U.S. since the mid 1970s. At the same time, the number of fast food restaurants more than doubled
over the same time period, while the number of other restaurants grew at a much slower pace. (Currie
Vigna Moretti Pathania 1) Saying the fact that when one eats substantial amounts of fast food, the
health of that person will drastically decrease is definitely true.
Clearly it is not hard to notice that a multitude of people seen on a daily basis are either overweight or
obese. Even though it may not be as noticeable, there is also a large percent of the population with
other fast food related illnesses. Diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and dietary disorders have all
been contributed to

Age-Related Macular Degeneration Paper
The research topic I will be introducing is Age Related Macular Degeneration. This has been classified
as a degenerative disorder that distresses the macula in one s eye. AMD is unfortunately a common
illness that individuals over 65 suffer from and that is a central cause vision loss. AMD doesn t have a
set disease pathway, in some individuals it advances slowly so that loss of vision does not arise for a
long time. The disease can also advance much quicker and may lead to lack of vision in either or both
eyes. The disease begins a blurry area near the center of one s vision which grows larger and larger
possibly causing a blank space in the eye (Boyd, 2013). Research is being done on AMD because it is
a prevalent illness and has extreme consequences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Although there was possibilities of certain bias, I believe that this article was of high enough quality to

Macular Degeneration, I believed it was a localized eye disease. It would impact the way I cared for

Buddhism As A Mere Alternative To Buddhism In The Fifth...
Buddhism As a mere alternative to Hinduism, Buddhism emerged in the fifth century to overcome the
empty perception in the main religion of the time. It was started by an Indian prince named Siddhartha
Gautama (later known as the Buddha ) who left his royal life to find Enlightenment. This man s
journey was the starting point of a religion that has become one of the world s biggest and most
popular. In the beginnings, Buddhism was started singlehandedly by Siddhartha Gautama, an Indian
prince who was the son of Queen Maha Maya, Mahapajapati Gotami, and King Śuddhodana. He was
born in Lumbini (present day Nepal) during the fifth century BCE. According to Buddhist tradition,
Siddhartha lived a wealthy and comfortable life as a prince until at one point, he left on a journey and
was horrified at the sight of four people suffering of old age, illness, poverty, and death. At the age of
29, after witnessing their sufferings, he decided to leave his family in an attempt to seek
enlightenment through self discipline, or asceticism, but even his most intense asceticism didn t bring

Pros And Cons Of Social Darwinism
Social Darwinists argue that economic competition produces human process. Social Darwinism is a
theory that states that individuals, groups, and people are all subject to the same Darwinian law of
natural selection as plants and animals. Spencer s idea was modified to refer to free competition in the
economic world. Spencer stated that free competition ensures that only the most capable individuals
survive and rise to the top. He also argued that the free competition that enriches some individuals and
reduces others to poverty results in the gradual improvement of the human race. One basic problem
with his idea is that the skills that help individuals and firms advance and survive in the business
world are not necessarily those that help humanity survive on the planet. Advancements might be
achieved through a ruthless disregard for other human beings. It is also important to mention that the
main problem with the Social Darwinists is the normative assumption that survival of the fittest means
survival of the best. 9. What are Marx s four forms of alienation? How does each form help to increase

usually traveled by riding on horses. Aristocrats usually rode on the wagons, and commoners rode on
horses. People usually did not transport through sea, but when they did, they used ships. Ships were
usually used during the war, or trade between Middle East countries. Military technology in the
Medieval period was discrete from other generations. Because there were knights during the Middle
Ages, they used the swords and arrows to fight. Other than these weapons, they had special kinds of
weapon, biological and psychological weapon. Biological weapons such as dead bodies and dead
animals were used to spread the disease over the enemy camp. Psychological weapons were used to

times larger than the normal size. Then they would put the armor in the scene of victory to show the

arouse fear of the knights. Agricultural tool was also distinct in the Middle Ages. The plow was
considered to be one of the most important technologies developed especially in the Medieval period.
During this period, the plow was used with multiple oxen teams. By this, farmers were able to plow

felt she needed to protect them from his violent way. Deep in her heart she felt that there would be one
day when he could change, because she could see the good in him. Brian would use his charm on her,
profess his immense love for her and she would again forgive him and stay in the relationship. It is
obvious that Roz was brainwashed in believing Brian loved her in spite of his controlling and violent
ways.
Brian seemed to have total control of Roz. Brian seemed to have his own personal issues with dealing
with the loss of his wife, taking care of four children by himself, and although the book does not
reveal any other issues, it s quite evident that he had trust issues and insecurities of his own. His
behaviors indicate that his violent ways is his way of being in power and control. He would use his
grieving as an excuse for his behavior. His non violent actions were just as repetitive, his continued

Prenatal Care For Young Women Essay
Prenatal Care for Young Women
Most young mothers are worried about a number of new changes that will impact them socially,
physically and emotionally. Prenatal care can be neglected due to an unexpected pregnancy, not being
educated on what to do, or not having resources to get care. Prenatal care is very important to a child s
early development. Prenatal care can mean several things like cutting back on caffeine and stopping
smoking. It can also mean soon after conception beginning to care for yourself and the baby as well as
starting to schedule regular checkups with a doctor.
Healthy People 2020 wants to help mothers, infants and children achieve optimal preconception
health, and interconception health. The main goal is reducing the infant mortality rate and preterm
births. In order to achieve this, it is important that mothers are educated on how to take care of their
body and their growing baby. Preconception (before pregnancy) and interconception (between
pregnancies) care provide an opportunity to identify existing health risks and to prevent health
problems for women and their children. These problems include heart disease, diabetes, genetic
conditions, sexually transmitted diseases and unhealthy weight (Office of Disease Prevention and
Health Promotion, 2016). According to the CDC (2016), teen pregnancy in the United States is not as
large of a problem as it had been between 1990 and 2008. Teen pregnancy is isolated in females ages
15 19. Ideally women should

Literary Analysis Of Anne Bradstreet s The Author To Her Book
When we create something, it s always challenging to reveal it to others. No matter how big or small
our creation might seem we will still have doubts about our work. For instance, writing an essay might
seem simple to some, but the reality of putting words together to state he or she s point is a difficult
task for anyone. In addition, when finished, we tend to have a great uncertainty buried deep down in
our mind reminding either our work is great or it needs improvement. Poet, Anne Bradstreet, in her
poem, The Author of Her Book, also experiences the uncertainty and frustration that creating
something with your own hands brings. In the poem, the author describes how imperfect and
unbearable her work seems to her. In addition, the author conveys her attitude throughout the poem in
order to reveal her attachment to her work; hence, the title of the poem The Author to Her Book.
Through the use of poetic devices such as diction, imagery, and metaphors, in order to reveal
Bradstreet s attitude towards her offspring/writing. Bradstreet begins her poem by adopting scathing
diction. The author conveys her attitude through the usage of words like, ill form d and raggs.
Bradstreet uses these words in order to help convey both how critical and masterful she is about her
work. In addition, she writes, [The] offspring of my feeble brain. In this line, Bradstreet emphasizes
the notion of being unsatisfied. The author utilities the word feeble brain in order to address

My Dream Job At The Nike Outlet
As people grow from their adolescent years, to their adult years, one of the hardest ideas they have to
come up with is what their future will look like. Many are set on the idea of being rich, having a nice
house and car, and having the luxury life. But in reality, very few are actually like that. As a junior in
high school I started to look for a part time job as i was interested in the aspect of money. My dream
job since I was about 8 was to work at the Nike outlet in Centralia, Washington. So long story short, I
applied and applied over and over and eventually got the call during August 2015. Even though
working an already busy schedule was a definite struggle, I really enjoyed my time and experiences I
gained through Nike. The job, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cost can also depend on if you attend a two year school to get your basic classes out of the way. The
average cost of a bachelor s degree at a public four year school would be $22,261, compared to a
private school where the price jumps to $43,289. Again, the cost depends on what school you attend.
Because of my interest in continuing an athletic career on the baseball field, where I attend school is
limited. With my interest in being both on the academic and athletic fields, my choices are narrowed.
If I were to choose my perfect path it would be attending a two year school to get my basic studies
done cheaper, and then after those two years, I would like to attend a four year school to finish up my
degree in business. Many of the requirements to get into the schools I would look at attending require
a high school diploma and then specific requirements for each school after that. With what I have done
as a student in the classroom, I have met or exceeded some requirements to receive admission into
colleges. With the training that I hope to receive while attending school to get my bachelor s in
business, I hope to receive many skills that are needed, and then use those and the skills that I already
have, to garner a job in the field of business. Skills typically needed to be in the sales management
profession include leadership and coaching. Really in the hindsight of

  • 2. Essay on Solving HealthCare’s eMail Security Problem Solving HealthCare s eMail Security Problem Abstract While healthcare organizations have come to depend heavily on electronic mail, they do so without a significant email security infrastructure. New Federal law and regulation place new obligations on the organizations to either secure their email systems or drastically restrict their use. This paper discusses email security in a healthcare context. The paper considers and recommends solutions to the healthcare organization s problem in securing its mail. Because email encryption will soon be a categorical requirement for healthcare organizations, email encryption is discussed in some detail. The paper describes details and benefits of domain level encryption model and considers how PKI ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although these security standards have not yet been finalized, in August of 1998, HHS did publish in 45 CFR Part 142 a proposal for that Security Standard. That Notice of Proposed Rule Making did include a number of specific security implementation features. Particularly relevant to email use is a specification for encryption of health information communicated over any network for which the transmitter cannot control access (45 CFR Part 142.308[d][1][ii]). This restriction clearly is intended to apply to the healthcare organization s Internet bound electronic mail. This paper broadly outlines steps that healthcare organizations can take to ensure the security of their electronic mail use. A substantial portion of this activity has a Security 101 aspect to it. Healthcare organizations are generally exposed to the same Internet borne threats as any other type organization. As a result, healthcare organizations do well to follow the general recommendations for email security provided in documents such as NIST s Guidelines for Electronic Mail Security . Healthcare organizations do have business imperatives and legal obligations, however, that may encumber routine application of email security best practice. Therefore, this paper will provide a healthcare industry context to its discussion of electronic mail security. • 3. Giovanni Bellini Research Paper Of all the artists from the European Renaissance to have come from Venice, perhaps the most important one of them all was Giovanni Bellini. Many of his works such as The Feast of the Gods, Agony in the Garden, and Holy Allegory have become known around the world thanks to various museums and their exhibits. Interestingly, there is the subject of his life story overall. Regarding this, Philip Hendy wrote in one article for Encyclopedia Britannica, Giovanni Bellini, (born c. 1430, Venice [Italy] died 1516, Venice), Italian painter who, in his work, reflects the increasing interest of the Venetian artistic milieu in the stylistic innovations and concerns of the Renaissance (Hendy). Four hundred years prior to Impressionism, the Venetian painters were keenly interested in the relationship between light and color . . . Additionally, the Venetian painters had a distinct method of brushwork. It s rather smooth, and makes for a velvety surface texture (Esaak). In other words, Venetian Renaissance art tends to have contrasting relationships between lighting and color in order to create a certain mood or emphasize a certain detail, and that the colors faded into each other, thus creating smooth transitions with almost outlines around shapes. In Giovanni Bellini s Crucifixion, the sunlight is particularly shined on Jesus, which is juxtaposed by the green grass below him. Plus, the colors smoothly transition to each other, thus leaving any shape outlines almost invisible. Furthermore, the natural world was a prevalent theme in not just Venetian Renaissance art, but the Renaissance as a whole. Jessie Szalay once wrote for Livescience, Both classical and Renaissance art focused on human beauty and nature (Szalay). The ability to communicate effectively between two cultures can be quite a difficult task. In this essay some do s and don ts regarding cross cultural communication on a business level between the Egyptian culture and general Western culture will be discussed. The essay will explain the differences in listening and responding in regards to communicating, relationships, and business etiquette. The differences between Individualism and collectivism will be discussed along with the Power stance outline in Geert Hofstede s cultural comparison of Egypt and Australia (Hofstede 2013). Egypt s population is mostly dominated by one culture with (94%) following the Sunni Islamic faith. The rest of the population is made up of a Coptic Christian faith following (6%) (Commisceo Global 2014). With such a dominant presences of Islamic faith in the community, day to day business is conducted heavily around their customs. In Geert Hofstede s comprehensive research into national values throughout the world we can see the many difference and similarities between different cultures all around the world. • 5. Revenge In Hamlet And Othello Across his many works, William Shakespeare commonly uses revenge not only as a motive for individuals but as a driving force for the entire plot. This appears in both Hamlet, in which the hero seeks revenge for the murder of his father, and Othello, in which the villain seeks revenge for the promotion of the less qualified Michael Cassio. Though Shakespeare portrays these characters conversely, their ends and means mirror each other. Readers can draw parallels between Prince Hamlet and Iago: they both have a desire for revenge, a meticulous methodology, and the intellect needed to tie together their plans. Using their intellect, both Prince Hamlet and Iago form elaborate plans, manipulate those around them, and, after much suffering, achieve their goals. At the discovery of his father s murder, Hamlet quickly springs into planning how to revenge [King Hamlet s] ... most unnatural murder and builds his plan around the opportunities presented by the arrival of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, the play put on by the acting troupe, and young Fortinbras desire to cross Denmark s borders (I.v.25). As Eric Levy, an emeritus professor at University of British Columbia, writes, the mental awareness that Hamlet possesses eventually exceeds his own unaided cognitive powers, causing the spiral of madness that ultimately brings the play to its violent end (9). Before this madness overtakes him, however, Hamlet devises the plan to verify Claudius guilt and prepare the perfect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Big Short The Big Short Report One of the topics I found most interesting in this book was the differences between the stock market and the bond market that Michael Lewis to some extent explains in the beginning of chapter three. While the stock market was intensely regulated and mostly transparent, the bond market consisted of primarily large institutions and escaped serious regulation. This lack of legislative control played a great part in allowing the credit default swaps on subprime mortgage bonds, CDO s, and the eventual collapse of the subprime market. Following the subprime mortgage crisis, the Department of the Treasury released a new regulatory plan, The Department of the Treasury Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the Paulson Plan held off a major financial crisis and attempted to address many of the issues that were the cause of the crisis, improvements could have been made that would have a more lasting positive effect on the American financial system. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the plan needed to achieve at three objectives. It needed to prevent a deep and prolonged recession, achieve that first objective at the lowest possible costs to the U.S. taxpayer, and it should not bail out the existing investors. As stated in the article, the Treasury plan addresses only the first objective, and only indirectly. While the article gave many suggestions for improving the plan, perhaps the most useful was the recommendation to require all regulated financial institutions to raise 2% of their assets in additional capital to preserve the stability of the financial system. This mandate should ensure that no individual bank sends an adverse signal to the market, which should cause investors to not lose confidence in the banks. Another key event described in The Big Short, was when American International Group found a way to insure subprime mortgage loans while being able to bury these risks on its balance sheet. Claudius as Evil in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essay Claudius as Evil in Hamlet by William Shakespeare The abstract concept of evil has vastly transformed throughout human history, ranging for the supernatural and mystical to the very humans amongst whom we live. In modern times, evil has become an entirely ambiguous term. Who is evil? What is evil? Men like Adolph Hitler and Saddam Hussein have been garnered with the term evil for their atrocities against fellow humans. Now it seems evil has a solely human significance; when a person violates the individual rights of others on a massive scale, he/she is evil. In Shakespeare s time the Elizabethan era evil had a similar, but somewhat altered connotation in the human mind. Evil was an entity that violated the English Christian ... Claudius propensity towards fabrications is in direct violation with the Holy Commandment Thou shalt not bear false witness; hence, he violates one of the pillars of Christian moral law. Claudius lies are effective enough to persistently deceive to play s antagonist, Hamlet. Despite Hamlet s disgust with Claudius for marrying Gertrude, and his view of Claudius as a king of shreds and patches (III.iv.104), Hamlet suspicion of Claudius as a murderer is preliminarily nonexistent. The appearance of a spirit claiming to be Hamlet s dead father first alerts Hamlet to the actions of that incestuous, that adulterate beast, /With witchcraft of his with, with traitorous gifts (I.v.42 3). And yet still, Hamlet remains hesitant to believe that Claudius was the murderer, searching for complementary evidence. The play that Hamlet enacts designed to catch the conscience of the king (II.ii.562) succeeds in revealing Claudius guilt, but does not provoke instant action on Hamlet s part. So effective is Claudius manipulation of the royal circle that he manages to almost permanently stay the revelation of his guilt, and if it weren t for supernatural intervention against an injustice, he may never have been exposed. Women are also overworked in the fields and complete all of the domestic work. Most Indian women are uneducated. Family participation should not be limited to their children only but must also include children of relatives, neighbors and the less privileged. Since people do not live in isolation, we must encourage mothers to participate in the parenting of people in and outside of their own families. Young and even older children must also participate in supporting the family activities on a regular basis. Through family participation, values can be instilled that will build and sustain a great nation. My views A woman is an architect of society. She establishes the institution of family life, builds the home, brings up the children and makes them good citizens. There are many threats to the coral reefs, but one of the worst things that we do to damage of them are using dynamite and cyanide to catch our fishes. Dynamite fishing is particularly used near Tanzania, because fishermen find it easier to catch fish by killing them and the letting them float to the surface. Rather than them using a net, because it would either snag on the coral reef or miss all the fishes. The dynamite technique consists of throwing any type of dynamite or waterproof exploding object, into the water, waiting for it to reach the coral reef (home to the fishes). Paddling away from the explosive, then pushing the button which will explode the coral reef. Last, you collect the dead fish that float to the top of the water, because their air bladders cause them to become resilient. Some fishermen use dynamite fishing at night to catch even more fish, which may sound weird because they can t see anything at night. However, what happens is the fishermen shine a bright light into the water, which attracts small and large fish. Then with a push of a button they explode the dynamite causing all of those animals to die, but in addition to the fish they also kill shrimp and crabs without knowing. • 12. The Theme of Colonialism in Shakespeare s Tempest Essay... The Tempest, by Shakespeare, offers the reader a variety of themes. The one theme that stands out the most is that of colonialism. During the time of Shakespeare, many European countries such as Spain, France, and England, were expanding their borders by taking over less developed countries, referred to as colonies. During this time of exploitation, there was skepticism concerning the possible success of the colonies. While some scholars believe that the play is about the Americas, I argue that the play reflects on colonialism in general and how it is destined for failure which is shown through the character s relationships throughout the play. During the 1600 s the English decided to have people colonize in the Americas for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to these debates, it s possible that Shakespeare has contemplated on the different views on colonization and decided not only to create the setting of the play on an island, but uses the storm in the first act as way to create excitement and danger and also to reference to the perils of the struggle of exploration. Also the title of the play is The Tempest which also hints how powerful the storms of the ocean are, that it can determine the fate of many people as seen in the play; and is relatable to real life events such as the one described earlier. The Tempest also reflect the concerns of the times such as the exploration of foreign lands and struggles for power and the colonization of lands as seen in the role of the characters in the play. The roles the characters have in the play are an essential in the expression of colonization and how it destined for failure. • 14. Reflective Essay On Professionalism Professionalism can be defined as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. (Merriam webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self observation and self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves (becoming a better university teacher...). In the day to day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students. There is a simple three step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen that really stood out to me. • 21. The United States And Soviet Union Essay The 1980 s were a dynamic time in the life cycle of the Cold War. The early portion of this decade, which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained an atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was the logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and militarization. Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War belligerents, and contrary to the early rhetoric of the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their perceptions of each other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite producing no tangible results, established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of the Cold War. This warming of relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered significant hurdles as the two nations attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war. Ultimately, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev s dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one administration to the next, while also weathering significant domestic pressures as the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated. Doubt and insecurity largely characterized the Cold War in the late 1970s and early stages of the Reagan presidency. Following the rise and fall of détente, the collapse of the Nixon administration, and the expansion of alarmist groups such as the Committee on the Present Danger, the Soviet Union and ... • 22. Film Techniques In Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho The film Psycho directed by Alfred Hitchcock is an excellent example that exploits many film techniques, to create different effects in the opening sequence and further on in the film. Many of these film techniques can be seen in the opening scene where Marion Crane meets her lover (Sam) who she is having an affair with. The two characters can be seen meeting at a cheap hotel during Marion s extended lunch break, they discuss the progression of their relationship and how they cannot afford to get married. However, their conversation ends when Marion must return to her work, at the real estate agents. Hitchcock uses these techniques such as camera angles, diegetic sound and non diegetic sound etc. to give a specific effect which will go on to build up the main themes of the film. In the beginning of the opening scene, the film shows the skyline of Phoenix before zooming into the window of a hotel room. Hitchcock cleverly uses these camera angles to build up the theme of voyeurism, giving the effect of curiosity to the audience. The first appearance of voyeurism is when the camera zooms in from the establishing shot of the city to reveal the window of the cheap hotel room, where the couple, Marion and Sam stayed in. The use of a high angle shot looking down towards the window of the hotel creates the feeling that the couple is being watched or possibly being spied on. This leaves an effect on the audience, as the angle gives a sense of judgement making the audience to judge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There was thunder, lightning, high seas, winds, and heavy rains; quite a setting for the entrance of one who was to be regarded as one of the greatest film directors in history. As a small, personal revolt against the norm, Federico would often make minor mistakes, like not having his fez, or wearing brown shoes instead of black. All of these aspects of his personality, including his love for women and his incredible artistic qualities could be readily seen in his films. His most famous movies are often considered grotesque, many of which are scored by Nino Rota and starring Fellini s wife, Giulietta Masini. • 24. Somnambulism In Macbeth If the tragedy was to be read in the light of modern psychopathology the interpretation will be found that Lady Macbeth is an accurate example of portraying the disease hysteria. It has been demonstrated that there is a rigid determinism in the mental world and that psychophysical processes are the result of a certain chain of causation of either conscious or unconscious. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that the resistance offered by the memory of emotional experience may sometimes be so great that it produces a dissociation or splitting of consciousness. Somnambulism is one of the most marked forms of splitting of consciousness that is most liable to occur in the disease hysteria, which is a form of mental dissociation. Characteristics of somnambulism are that images are clearly represented and the subject seems to see and hear everything. In each somnambulistic state the subject repeats the same words and makes the same gestures as in the original experience which was responsible for the cause of the somnambulistic state (Pierre). Somnambulism may assume various types of sleep walking or it may develop to such a high degree that the subjects may wander in strange places for hours or days, and lose memory of their real personality. It can also create hallucinations of the various senses, and the subject speaks to imaginary persons or hears imaginary voices (Pierre). Csikszentmihalyi defines happiness in terms of how we achieve it. He suggests that people achieve happiness not by trying to look for it directly (609) but by looking for it directly. He also added that by achieving control over the contents of our consciousness (609), a circuitous path begins, thus the beginning of achieving happiness. Further, Csikszentmihalyi stated that just like happiness, success is not to be pursued but ensued. This statement is ideally illustrated by Viktor Frankl s book on Man s Search for meaning: Don t aim at success the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it (609). As quoted by Csikszentmihalyi that people often end up feeling that their lives have been wasted, and instead of being filled with happiness their years were spent in anxiety and boredom (608). Women were granted many of the same privileges as men, but they were still being mistreated in some perspectives. Old Testament Origins The two Hebrew root words associated with redemption are 1. ‫ל‬ ‫ָּגַא‬ (ga al), meaning redeem or act as a kinsman redeemer 2. ‫ה‬‫ָּפָד‬ (padah), meaning ransom or redeem One of the most miraculous acts of OT redemption refers to how God enabled Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt after 430 years (Ex 12:40 English Standard Version or ESV) of bondage. Changes in the way society communicates has made methods of getting a message to a larger audience easier but it has also hindered the development of active listening skills. Written communication and effective listening are two areas that I am continually striving to enhance. Effective Listening De Janasz, Dowd, and Schneider provided multiple factors that contribute to the inability to listen effectively. I often find it hard to listen in specific situations such as long meetings, individuals that take a long time to get to the point, subjects that I do not have an interest in. Social Darwinism is a theory that states that individuals, groups, and people are all subject to the same Darwinian law of natural selection as plants and animals. Spencer s idea was modified to refer to free competition in the economic world. Spencer stated that free competition ensures that only the most capable individuals survive and rise to the top. He also argued that the free competition that enriches some individuals and reduces others to poverty results in the gradual improvement of the human race. One basic problem with his idea is that the skills that help individuals and firms advance and survive in the business world are not necessarily those that help humanity survive on the planet. Advancements might be achieved through a ruthless disregard for other human beings. It is also important to mention that the main problem with the Social Darwinists is the normative assumption that survival of the fittest means survival of the best. 9. • 45. Literary Analysis Of Anne Bradstreet s The Author To Her Book When we create something, it s always challenging to reveal it to others. No matter how big or small our creation might seem we will still have doubts about our work. For instance, writing an essay might seem simple to some, but the reality of putting words together to state he or she s point is a difficult task for anyone. In addition, when finished, we tend to have a great uncertainty buried deep down in our mind reminding either our work is great or it needs improvement. Poet, Anne Bradstreet, in her poem, The Author of Her Book, also experiences the uncertainty and frustration that creating something with your own hands brings. In the poem, the author describes how imperfect and unbearable her work seems to her. In addition, the author conveys her attitude throughout the poem in order to reveal her attachment to her work; hence, the title of the poem The Author to Her Book. Through the use of poetic devices such as diction, imagery, and metaphors, in order to reveal Bradstreet s attitude towards her offspring/writing. • 46. My Dream Job At The Nike Outlet As people grow from their adolescent years, to their adult years, one of the hardest ideas they have to come up with is what their future will look like. Many are set on the idea of being rich, having a nice house and car, and having the luxury life. But in reality, very few are actually like that. As a junior in high school I started to look for a part time job as i was interested in the aspect of money. My dream job since I was about 8 was to work at the Nike outlet in Centralia, Washington. So long story short, I applied and applied over and over and eventually got the call during August 2015. Even though working an already busy schedule was a definite struggle, I really enjoyed my time and experiences I gained through Nike. The job, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cost can also depend on if you attend a two year school to get your basic classes out of the way. The average cost of a bachelor s degree at a public four year school would be $22,261, compared to a private school where the price jumps to $43,289. Again, the cost depends on what school you attend. Because of my interest in continuing an athletic career on the baseball field, where I attend school is limited. With my interest in being both on the academic and athletic fields, my choices are narrowed. If I were to choose my perfect path it would be attending a two year school to get my basic studies done cheaper, and then after those two years, I would like to attend a four year school to finish up my degree in business. Many of the requirements to get into the schools I would look at attending require a high school diploma and then specific requirements for each school after that. With what I have done as a student in the classroom, I have met or exceeded some requirements to receive admission into colleges. With the training that I hope to receive while attending school to get my bachelor s in business, I hope to receive many skills that are needed, and then use those and the skills that I already have, to garner a job in the field of business. Skills typically needed to be in the sales management profession include leadership and coaching. Really in the hindsight of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
