How To Write An Essay On Yourself
Writing an essay on the topic of "How To Write An Essay On Yourself" is a peculiar challenge.
It's akin to attempting to explain the process of self-reflection while engaging in that very
process. The inherent paradox lies in the task itself – you are expected to objectively dissect
and present your own thoughts, experiences, and personality, a task that requires a delicate
balance between humility and self-promotion.
Embarking on such an essay demands a profound understanding of oneself. You must scrutinize
your own life, experiences, and beliefs, discerning the moments that shaped you and the values
that define you. This introspective journey is not only time-consuming but also emotionally
taxing, as you grapple with the challenge of translating your complex identity into a coherent
narrative.
Moreover, the challenge extends beyond self-awareness. It requires a mastery of language, an
ability to articulate your thoughts with clarity and precision. Striking the right tone becomes
crucial – too boastful, and you risk coming across as arrogant; too self-deprecating, and your
achievements might be overshadowed. Balancing confidence with humility is a tightrope walk
that requires a nuanced understanding of your own narrative.
The essay on "How To Write An Essay On Yourself" becomes a meta-reflection, as you find
yourself applying the very principles you are attempting to elucidate. It's an intricate dance
between self-expression and the expectations of your audience. You must anticipate the reader's
perspective, crafting a story that is not just about you but is also relatable and engaging for
others.
In the end, the difficulty lies not just in the technical aspects of essay writing, but in the
vulnerability and authenticity required to genuinely share your story. It is a journey of self-
discovery that goes beyond the confines of grammar and structure, delving into the essence of
who you are.
And remember, if the challenge becomes too overwhelming, there are resources available to
assist you. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where
professional writers can help navigate the intricate process of introspection and self-expression.

Examples Of Conflict In The Wizard Of Oz
To begin, the type of conflict in the Wizard of Oz is person versus self. To start, in
the movie The Wizard of Oz during the initial incident, Dorothy ends up in the
tornado, then Oz. Dorothy has always wanted to go somewhere over the rainbow, and
there she is. However, she would later have many other emotions that aren t just
happiness. In addition, during the climax scene, Dorothy accidentally melts the witch.
The Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow get what they wanted from the Wizard.
Throughout their adventures in Oz, Dorothy realized that she just wanted to go
home. Her homesickness caused emotions that motivated her to go home, and
sometimes her emotions brought the worst out of her. Last, in the denouement,
Dorothy finally made it home, and she was in a coma the whole time. Now that
Dorothy is home, the conflict is resolved because that is what she wanted all along.
So, the type of conflict is person versus self because Dorothy experiences all these
emotions when she finally is away from home, and she just wants to go home.... Show

First of all, in the beginning, the Tin Man killed a bee on accident, and he started
to cry because of it. He had to have a heart if he felt bad about killing just a little
bee. Second of all, when Dorothy fell asleep in the poppy field the Tin Man starts
to cry. This also relates to the bee, he couldn t start to feel bad and cry if he didn t
have a heart. Third of all, the Tin Man follows Toto to the witches castle to save
Dorothy without any hesitations. The Wicked Witch s castle is very dangerous, he
so had to be very passionate about Dorothy to do this. Therefore, the Tin Man had a
heart all along, he just didn t use it to the fullest until he met
How Learning Can Be Very Challenging For Some
Learning can be very challenging for some, everyone has a different way of
learning. I would explain learning as something you want to do, not something
you have to do. It s much easier to learn when it s a choice instead of a chore. My
views on learning have changed dramatically from when I have first started the
online college. Before I started online college, I was afraid to go back to school
because, I didn t do well in high school. I thoughtI was just not smart enough to every
continue my education. With EXP 105, I have found what my strength and
weaknesses are when it comes to my learningabilities. I also now feel more
confident that I can do this, and it s just going to take time to develop my mind to
be in a growth mind set. Sequence (31) is one of my Use First Pattern. I use
Sequence in everyday life. When it comes to my home, I like a well organized
structured home. Everything in my home has a place to which it belongs. I have
tasks in my home that must be done from beginning to end or it doesn t feel
completed to me. When I start my week out I have a list of things that needtaken care
of throughout the week and it s broken down Monday Sunday. Precision (29) is
another Use First that I have. I Use Precision when I m trying to get to know things
or people. I ask a lot of questions in order to find all the information that I can in
order to understand who, what, when, where, and why. I m a challenger when it
comes to information. If I don t know the answer
Five Impetitive Forces Of IBM
In the epoch of globalization and widespread use of technologies, emerging trends
change rapidly. Thus, the future of any competitive company becomes less and
less predictable. To avoid this situation, enterprises apply risk prevention and
mitigation strategies aimed to remove the general threat of substitution. However,
a biggest danger derives from small day to day changes which are likely to affect
the businesses slowly but notably. Taking IBM as a vivid example of a successful
company, it is reasonable to claim that it also is endangered by non linear changes
and needs to be ready for the uncertain future. To prepare the organization for
potential unstable situations, it is important to consider five competitive forces of
the company as well as global technological trends, in accordance with the
specialization of a business entity. First, the influence of customer and supplier
power, established rivals, new entrants or substitutes may notably impact the
productivity and profitability of IBM (Porter, 2008). To neutralize the supplier s
power, the IT company needs to put efforts into improvement of its production
process because it mostly relies on staff. To attract consumers, IBM can focus on the
idea of multiplatform consisting of several technological start ups, where each one
has a different function. As a result, with the versatile range a products, it would be
easier for the company to pressure new entrants and spend more resources on
research and development (R D).
The Transformative Learning Project At A New York City...
In Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, college students participate in a service learning
project to earn college credits at a New York City community college. During this
international service learning opportunity, students perform service work and conduct
research to examine and address health and social problems in resource poor
communities. Students design and implement health educationskits and workshops,
conduct health assessments in local neighborhoods, and work at the local hospital.
Program requirements include a daily journal, evening reflection groups, a report that
communicates the results of student research and a final reflection paper which
includes a plan for future action. The transformative learningaspect involves the
student s ability to learn and understand of the levels of poverty, economic disparities,
and health issues within the region as well as the different factors that contribute to
it. Social and cultural factors, structural issues, and baseline contextual factors all
influence the situation that the region experiences. The program is designed that
students experience this condition for the first time and are transformed in the way
that they view and articulate poverty. With the region in such despair, students
experience austere conditions that they ve never experienced and they learn and are
transformed in their views of poverty, poverty levels, and basic cultural
understandings of different regions around the world. This immersion into
Kyphoplasty Case Study
On 4/19/18 I met Mr. McDonald at the office of Dr. Rampersaud. Mr. McDonald
reports that he is about 50% better with the Lyrica; he rates his pain at a 7. He is
tender to touch over the bilateral Si joints and has pain to the L1 spine area. He
reports he has been taking one Norco at night to help with his sleep. We again
discussed the Kyphoplasty. Mr. McDonald told Dr. Rampersaud that he is being
sent to see Dr. Palavali for a 2nd opinion regarding the Kyphoplasty. He said he has
had surgery in the past with Dr. Palavali and trust him. In the meantime Dr.
Rampersaud told him that is he wants to proceed he could always put this through
his personal health insurance and move forward on the Kyphoplasty. Mr.
McDonald said he really doesn t do anything at home; his wife won t let him pick
up a bag or anything. He feels very weak. Dr. Rampersaud said he has let himself
get de conditioned. I remind him of the physical therapy and the work hardening he
had before. Dr. Rampersaud would like him to start a reconditioning program with...

Mr. McDonald has been terminated from work. He has permanent restrictions of no
lifting over 50 pounds and no prolonged sitting, standing, or walking.
ASSESSMENT Mr. McDonald says he wants to have the Kyphoplasty done but he

Narrative Essay Fishing
Four years and we finally have something on the line. Is the nonlinear structure
working? On superbowl sunday in the year 2015 my Dad,Jim Brown and I were
going to go fishing for steelhead on the river again. The first year we had ever
started fishing for steelhead my dad caught a small native steelhead which he had to
let go and had hooked a much larger steelhead that threw the hookthat same day.
Though after that, year after year we hadn t had any luck and today didn t feel any
different we were going to go down to the river and fishand fish and we would come
home empty handed yet again. Even so I always felt that the worst day of fishing is
better than the best day at school. The three of us went down to Jones Creek to fish

We started out upstream. The water dripping from the lichen glistened like little
drops of the sun. The mist from the river lifted our spirits and got us ready to fish.
This time I was ready for a new type of lure. I ended up pulling out a bass crankbait
that looked like a fry salmon and thought that should catch something . We fished
for hours again with no luck. The water was extremely clear, I figured that if there
was any fish we would be able to see them. We had time to kill though, we figured
that we could keep trying for a little while longer. As the water seeped into my
boots( that I forgot to seal with shoe wax),we moved downstream a little bit. I
could tell that I had come and walked right next to a perfect place for steelhead to
rest on their journey to spawn. I grabbed the line with one finger unclipped the bail
and let a lure find his wings. It flew to the other side of the river and I brought it
right under the the rocks that I was close to. I reeled the lure closer to me and just
stopped coming, whatever it was hooked on was not moving. DANG IT! I couldn t
believe it, I had snagged. I gave my rod a few jerks to loosen the
hooks.ZzZzZzZzZzZz!, the line zipped through the water with force. Not a moment
too soon I came to my senses and fought the
Online Dating
Spira s Argument
There is no one size fit for all scenarios in considering the best practice between
online and offline dating, but rather, both should be embraced with discrete
moderation.
An alternative
An alternative argument to the Spira s view point is that offline dating can be more
beneficial than offline dating, especially at times when one is searching for the
perfect partner. An alternative gives a different view point on a given topic.
Conclusion and Premises from the 4 articles
The first premise is that offline dating was found to lead to more marriages than
online dating according to a research conducted. Secondly, marriages that resulted
from offline dating were seen to have lasted. The third premise is that online dating

Comparison Of Genesis 1 And Ancient Egyptian Creation
Myths
Jia GuoBen Smuin Section A02 Critical Reading Assignment July 14th, 2015
Summary of Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths In the feature article
Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths, the scholar Gordon H. Johnston,
identifies the relationship between Genesis 1 and ancient Egyptian cosmogony by
analyzing the parallels, similarities, and differences with respect to literature and
theology. In order to verify Genesis 1 corresponds with Egyptian creation myths from
the literary perspective, Gordon indicates three parallels between Genesis 1 and the
Egyptian creation traditions: lexical, structural, and thematic. (Johnston 182)
Furthermore, Gordon makes a thorough exploration in theology since he detects the
numerous parallels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, Gordon believes lexical parallels exist in both Genesis 1 and Egyptian
materials in light of the equivalent expression in the beginning , in which means the
moment of the creative activity begins. (Johnston 183) Second of all, Gordon
clarifies that Genesis 1 and Egyptian mythic cycles share structural parallels. In
specific, Hermopolis constructs a similar storyline with Genesis 1, and Memphis
also applies to Memphite theology as well as Genesis 1. (Johnston 182 184) Third of
all, Gordon illustrates Genesis 1 conceptually parallels with Egyptian creation due to
the numerous thematic parallels. More specifically, the tradition of Hermopolis
shows the birth of sun god is later than the emergence of supernatural light, and
Genesis 1 concretely expounds the fact that God created the light on Day 1 and sun
not until Day 4. (Johnston 187) Nevertheless, Gordon queries himself that the literary
parallels are not occasional because both Genesis 1 and Egyptian creation myths are
originated from some of the real historical connect . Hence, he generates the literary
parallels cannot be the decisive factor to determine the relationship between them.

Sigmund Freud And Psychoanalysis
Sigmund Freud contributed more to the modern psychological research landscape
than any of his contemporaries. Throughout his career he created one of the first
empirically based methods of understanding the human psyche. These methods are
often summarized under the term Psychoanalysis and it is defined by a series of
theories which connect the human experience to human behaviors and motivations.
These theories consist of development analyses based around psychological,
physiological, and psychosexual growth. The ID Ego Superego relationship
developed by Freud attempts to categorically sort the different elements of human
desires that combine to create a picture of a healthy mind. Applying these conceptual
divides to specific systems... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A societal participant must display a sense of morality; or the ability to determine
right from wrong. The moral compass was a result of a humans Superego
according to Freud. The superego was believed to develop later on after the Ego,
which was in turn developed just after birth. The superego allows for a higher level
understanding of human relations; and creates motivations to care for other
humans beyond a direct benefit to ones self. A parallel development to the ID Ego
Superego process is the psychosexual stages of human consciousness. These stages
develop over the first few years a child s life; and Freud believed they were the
primary component of sexual development in the psyche. From birth to 18 months a
child experiences the oral stage of psychosexuality; this time period finds the child
focused on the erogenous zone of the mouth. Exploration comes in the form of eating
or sucking on things; and the brain builds a relationship between these actions and
pleasure. This stage can carry extreme significance and Freud believed that events
like withheld food can severely impact the child s sense of trust as an adult. After the
18 month period
Teacher Reflection
This passage from the book exemplifies the importance of a role that a teacher plays
in a child s life. Teachers have the ability to improve a child s life without even
realizing it a refreshing revelation for both new and old teachers who may often
wonder if they have ever made a difference. In most classrooms there will be students
who will say they do not wish to be there and do not want to learn. And while the
student s unwillingness to learn is frustrating for teachers at times, the teacher creates
the learning environment and can do much to motivate her students to succeed. By
implementing effective teaching strategies, teachers can influence and motivate their
students.
Tracy Kidder wrote Among Schoolchildren after spending nine months in Mrs. Zajac
s fifth grade classroom located in the Flats of Massachusetts. This books gives an
insight to many in the education field about how economic class, ethnicity, and
parental involvement can harm or benefit education. The setting is in a low socio
economic class neighborhood in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a town consisting of a
high population of people of Puerto Rican descent. Miss Zajac s class is made up of
about twenty students, most of whom are Puerto Rican, low income students, many
of whom have been abused, neglected, or have emotional difficulties. Kidder portrays
Miss Zajac as a charming yet tough, fair, and dedicated teacher. Among
Schoolchildren focuses on a particular group of students, especially those that give

Alain Locke describes his hopes and aspirations for the Black race in his 1925 essay
The New Negro. He argues that the birth of the new Negro is dependent on the
transformation of old characterizations and attitudes into less restrictive and more
supportive notions. Locke states that by shedding the old chrysalis of the Negro
problem [Blacks] are achieving something like a spiritual emancipation (Locke, p.
985). This emancipation is a liberation from the prejudices of the White man and the
psychological segregation interpreted from social discrimination. This internal
metamorphosis is a reoccurring theme in some of the poetry from the Harlem

The Two Witnesses of Revelation
Who are the witnesses of Revelation 11? What is there importance? There are
multiple theories on who these witness are. One of the most popular theories is
that it will be Elijah and Enoch because they were taken away by God before their
death.(2 Kings 2:11; Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5) Others believe that it will be
Moses, who turned water to blood and sent other plagues on Egypt, and Elijah
because he stopped the rain in Israel for 3 1/2 years. (Exodus 7 12; 1 Kings 17:1)
Another theory believes that the two witnessesare the two houses of Israel. Finally,
another theory is that these two witnesses will be completely new. All of these have
different twists and use scripture to back them up. However, almost everyone
believes their importance in the end times because it is pretty clearly stated in the
Bible. (Revelation 11: 1 14) First, let us look at the theory that the Moses and Elijah
are the two witnesses. The most common reason to believe Moses and Elijah are
the two witnesses are because the miracles they will perform are similar to the
judgments inflicted in the Old Testament by Moses and Elijah for the purpose of
stimulating repentance. Elijah called down fire from heaven (2 Kings 1:10, 12)
and pronounced a three and one half year drought on the land (1 Kings 17:1; James
5:17) the same length as the drought brought by the two witnesses (Rev. 11:6).
Moses turned the waters of the Nile into blood (Ex. 7:17 21) and announced the
other plagues on Egypt recorded in
Gun Control and the Bill of Rights Essay
George Mason, a co author of the Bill of Rights, said To disarm the people is the
best and most effectual way to enslave them If this is true, why would anyone try
to ban firearms in the U.S? Guns have been a part of American history since we
declared independence from Britain in 1776. Many people believe that removing
weapons from the hands of citizens is the only way to stop criminals from shooting
down people at malls and kids at schools, but this is not the case. Outlawing guns is
not the answer for effectively reducing gun crime.
According to Wikipedia, a firearm is a portable gun, being a barreled weapon that
launches one or more projectiles often driven by the action of an explosive force.

Murder by knives was first, followed by clubs, then strangulation. It seems that by
banning guns, people used other ways to kill. On the other hand, Switzerland s gun
policy is very different than other nations. It requires all men to go through militia
training at age twenty and issue an assault rifle when they complete it. Switzerland
has the lowest gun crime rates in the world, despite giving everyone a high powered,
fully automatic firearm.
Another hot topic that politicians debate about is allowing assault rifles, or select
fire guns (capable of semi automatic or fully automatic fire),which have the ability
to shoot rounds as long as you can hold the trigger down, in the hand of American
citizens. Currently, eight states have banned owning assault weapons in some
sense. Some may argue that these guns are overkill, and aren t practical for hunting
or self defense, whereas other firearms fill that position well. In some cases that
might be true, but if multiple intruders enter your home armed, a pistol with a low
capacity clip may not suffice. Contrary to popular belief, gun crime has dropped
significantly over the past 20 years. Since 1993, violence involving guns has gone
down 49% according to Pew Research. The media is to blame for sensationalizing
shootings and with the internet s influence an argument that got out of hand can be
seen as an all out battle. The Second

Crossing The Red Sea By Peter Skrzynecki s
The journey, not the arrival is what matters in human experience. It can be said that
when one takes the first steps of a journey, that person will be forever changed as
they will no longer be the way they were. As on travels, through physical or inner
journeys the experiences one has, the decisions one makes and the affects of those
decisions enables one to grow and develop in new and unexpected ways. These
ideas are explored in Roberts frosts poem the road not taken and Peter Skrzynecki s
poem crossing the red sea in both poems, journey is represented as both a physical
and inner state of journeying that all people experience Journeys last forever.
Decisions that lead to another can continue throughout one s life. Proof of this is
embedded in way leads on to way ,a form of repetition shows the continuous nature of
the process of journeying. Ages and ages hence also represents the similar idea, future
tense is used show how the future is undeniably full of new and exciting journeys.
Both quotes allow us to understand that the persona understands that journey is
continuous/that a journey never ends. Frost shows us that there are a number of
possibilities that can all be assessed once a decision is made.
The idea is reinforced in peters poem. Decisions made in a journey can lead to
another and can continue throughout one s life, this is seen in the phrase beyond
whose waters the equator was still to be crossed this brings a sense of optimism that
the journey is still continuing bringing new life to the passengers of the ship the
phrase uses foreshadowing to continue the point that journeys last forever that there
will always be a journey no matter what and a decision in a journey can affect the
journey all together.
Small decisions can have a big/lasting impact on the journey. A minor decision
might seem like it has a quick and easy answer but it s not always the case. the
decision made in a journey have a lasting impact on the future of that journey frost

Chad Christian Clift is not working tirelessly in a restaurant or traveling, he likes to
spend some of his free time sky diving. This extreme adventure sport has a
reputation for being both loved and feared by many. For those who have already
experienced the thrill of falling through the sky, there is no doubt that the
experience is one of a kind. Others, however, have been intrigued by the concept,
but are too afraid to give it a go. Clift explains that a first time sky diving
experience does not have to be scary, especially since it will be a tandem jump. In a
tandem sky dive, the person jumping is literally attached via a harness to

anyone in good health can do it with ease. When you sky dive, the most
complicated part of the trip will be the paperwork that must be filled out prior to
jumping, and getting suited up and harnessed. Special suits are worn to help the
professional or individual diver adjust for wind, drag, and lift. These suits are
comfortable, though not very stylish. After that it is all clear skies according to

J Alfred Prufrock Aging
In T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock the author begins to form
the dilemmas that the main character, Prufrock, has to come to terms with in his
middle age. He is severely troubled over the fact that he is growing old, and feels that
the best part of his life has passed. His obsession with timethroughout the poem
characterizes his fear of growing older. He is a man experiencing a mid life crisis,
brought about by his perception of aging and his own feelings of imperfection. As
people get older, they go through mid life crisis and begin to experience a plethora
of feelings. They begin to think about accomplishments they have made in life, in
addition to their age. They ponder around the idea of whether they still... Show more

The time allusions throughout the poem are to show that Prufrock is getting
progressively older. He says I have measured out my life with coffee spoons (Eliot

in society, he discovers that he cannot exist with the type of people he once did.
His being is lonely and tedious while those younger than him are in a state that is
fun and exciting. I know the voices dying with a dying fall beneath the music from
a farther room (Eliot 52 53). He can hear the voices of his neighbors but he cannot
go to them. He is bothered by the idea of the younger generation judging him. He
wishes he could fit in, but believes that cannot be his reality. As time passes so
does the soul of the narrator. His heart dissipates by the moment. Even within his
imagination he is tortured by the ever present troubles which stay with him
throughout his life. He can t even see the point in expressing his love because of
the fear of being rejected. Elliot s portrayal of the uncertainties of aging is a major
aspect merged into the poem. Although Prufrock is a man of knowledge and society
he is still a misfit because of a little characteristic he can do nothing about. Prufrock
describes his emotional state as being in a hell, of his own feelings. The first forty
eight lines of the poem show the main character thinking

Rhetorical Analysis Of Cloud Computing For Increased...
In reference to the 100A assignment sheet for the rhetorical analysis, a rhetorical
analysis is a written work that focuses on analyzing and understanding a published
article. In this assignment, students will get opportunities to develop their writing
and improve deep analytic skills to identifying rhetorical strategies that writers will
use to achieve the purpose of a well written document. The audience for this
analytical paper will be my classmates, professor, and the committee members of the
100A.
To begin with, rhetorical strategies are techniques which writers use in their article
to assert and persuade the audience about a specific point. These techniques can
include narratives, descriptive, and cause and effect. Using these strategies, a writer
is able to introduce the topic and provide examples in order to achieve their purpose,
which could be a variety of different things.
In the following rhetorical analysis, I will analyze Cloud Computing for Increased
Business Value by Abdulaziz Alijabre. Alijabre received his Doctorate degree in
Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Bridgeford and is
currently a CEO of System security solution company. Alijabre has written numerous
articles and Cloud Computing for Increased Business Value was written in January
2012. This article gives a perception of how using cloud computing can be beneficial
and yet create obstacles in business. The author examines specific types of businesses
that will benefit from

The Women’S Rights Convention Took Place In Seneca
Falls,
The Women s Rights Convention took place in Seneca Falls, New York 1848. This
was the first ever women s rights convention in the United States, and with almost
200 women in attendance. This convention was organized by Lucretia Mott and
Elizabeth Kelly Stanton, who were both abolitionists that met at the 1840 World Anti
Slavery Convention in London. In 1848 at Elizabeth Stanton s home near Seneca
Falls, the two women, Mott and Stanton, were working with Martha Wright, Mary
Ann McClintock and Jane Hunt, to send out a call for a women s conference to be
held at Seneca Falls. On July 19, 1848, 200 women gathered at the Wesleyan Chapel.

Women began entering male dominated professions such as law, medicine, clergy
and corporate. Women also began to commence several new institutions. The
suffrage movement allowed for women to fix their place in society and take a
closer step to full equality of people in America. After the suffrage movement,
women s economic roles increased in society. Since there were now more
educational opportunities, it led more and more women to find and use their
potential for meaningful and professional careers. Women s salaries also increased
but not to the amount men had received. However, this was still a huge
achievement for women because it was such a huge step from what it had been
before. The resistance of giving women the right to vote began to cease when the
territorial legislature of Wyoming granted women the vote in 1869; it was the first
permanent suffrage law in U.S. history. By the 1890 s many states had granted
suffrage. By 1913 there were 12 states and the National Woman s Party, under
leadership of Alice Paul, decided to harness the voting power of women in those
states to push a suffrage resolution through congress. The country s involvement in
WWI needed the help of women; which then provided the suffragists their power.
When the U.S. entered the war in 1917, a woman s suffrage amendment was
submitted into the House of Representatives. By 1919, it was passed by both houses

Human Trafficking Essay examples
Slavery is a form of human bondage, in which people were forced to follow the
demands of whoever owns them. Although it was abolished in the 19th century,
slavery has been resurrected and has taken the form of human trafficking, a form of
modern day slavery, in which thousands of foreign people are smuggled across
national borders as forced labor in factories, farms, and brothels. The way human
traffickers persuade foreign women into coming to their country is forcing them
against their will or falsely promising them the American dream. The threats that
human traffickingpresent are that it deprives people of their human rights, it is a
global health risk, and fuels the growth of organized crimes, like sex crimes. The

That was the case for a Nigerian woman by the name of Martina Okeke. In 1998,
Martina was taken in by a Staten Island couple with a promise of a $300 monthly
wage and tuition help for her children back in Nigeria, but never received a penny.
12 years later, her friends finally convinced her to speak out about her current
situation. (Fox) In June 2001, two Indonesian women were promised a well
paying restaurant job in New York, but ended up working at a Brooklyn Brothel.
When they arrived in New York, the men waiting for them had given them a
$30,000 debt to pay up and if they refuse to work as prostitutes, they threaten to kill
them. Human trafficking for labor or sex would seem to be something from
another country, however stories like these make it clear that it commonly
practiced in modern day New York. (Fox) This implies that trafficking takes
different forms in different parts of the United States, like in New York or in
California. In 2000, a Berkeley landlord was charged with smuggling minors and
keeping them as sex slaves and was sentenced to more than eight years in prison
with a restitution payment of $2 million. One of his sex slaves suffered an accident
that resulted in her death and leaving behind her younger sister, however, it had not
been for a malfunctioning heater, none of those sex slaves would escape and live in
state of misery. (Bergman) On December 4th, 2007, researchers
Absolutism Vs Conservatism
Liberalism is an ideology that invoked upon the ideals and fundamentals of the
enlightenment period as well as the French Revolution. Liberals opposed
conservatism which boasted heeding to the dominance of politics and society by
monarchs, aristocrats, and clergy and the government s arbitrary interference with
individual liberty. [Therefore], to the extent that these elements of the traditional
order remained in place, liberals demanded reform and fought resisting conservatives

In France, after citizen king Louis Philippe fled in exile due to growing discontent
under his rule, a second republic was hastily formed in the form of a provisional
government. Afterwards, they immediately called for the election by universal
male suffrage of an assembly to draw up a new constitution (599). this was
something that Great Britain had failed to do, however France did turn down
political and economic demands voiced in the woman s magazine, The Voice of

order to participate, there was a surplus of workers, and that meant higher taxes for
the citizens in order for the government to be able to pay its workers. This plan,
although a great thought, proved to be a rash decision and was soon
Atn-7 Network Case Study
ATN is the Sydney flagship television station of the Seven Network in Australia.
The licence, issued to a company named Amalgamated Television Services, a
subsidiary of Fairfax, was one of the first four licences (two in Sydney, two in
Melbourne) to be issued for commercial television stations in Australia. It began
broadcasting on 2 December 1956.
The station formed an affiliation with GTV 9 Melbourne in 1957, in order to share
content. In 1963, Frank Packer ended up owning both GTV 9 and TCN 9, so as a
result the stations switched their previous affiliations. ATN 7 and HSV 7 joined to
create the Australian TelevisionNetwork, which later became the Seven Network.
ATN 7 is the home of the national level Seven News bulletins.

Mary Adelaide Nutting
Mary Adelaide Nutting a Nurse Leader Abstract For this paper we were required to
write about the life of a particular nursing leader. The purpose was to document
about their lives and to include things like their backgrounds, credentials, and their
influences on nursing. These women are considered some of the most influential
people to nursing. But the most important questions are, What exactly is a leader
and what makes someone a leader? As defined by Yoder Wise (2011), a leader is a
person who demonstrates and exercises power and influence over others . This is
the essence of a leader and is the description of who Mary Adelaide Nutting was to

The Genre of Southern Gothic in A Good Man Is Hard to...
When you cross the sweeping drama of romance with the macabre isolation of small
town life and then throw in a touch of Southern whimsy you ve cooked up a
collection of American literature absolutely unique in time, place, and sentiment,
Southern gothic. Southern gothic comes from the genre of gothic fiction, and has
some type of supernatural or unusual events in it. It is characterized as having a
grotesque quality yet still having enough good in it to keep readers interested. The
short story, A Good Man is Hard to Find by Mary Flannery O Connor, is often
considered a perfect example of Southern gothicwriting. In A Good Man is Hard to
Find , O Connor has characters typical of Southern gothic. Characters in this genre are

actions and is consistent in his morality, unlike the grandmother. He commits crimes,
though does so believing that they are right and they do not matter. The main
characters all come in contact with one another when the grandmother and her
family are driving for a vacation in Florida, they get in a car accident and encounter
the Misfit. They live in Georgia and the day before they left the grandmother was
reading about the Misfit and trying to talk the family into going to Tennessee instead
so that they would not chance being around him. The grandmother really wants to go
to Tennessee to see her friends, but the dramatic irony of them actually meeting the

writing. The situational irony of the grandmother becoming a good, enlightened
person after the short conversation she has with the Misfit in the story also shows
how it is in the genre of southern gothic. She reaches out to him, after realizing that
she is a sinner, and tries to redeem herself. She dies with a smile on her face because

Quality Time Redefined Analysis
In today s society with cell phones, television, internet, and social media, it is very
difficult to stay connected. Our ability to stay balanced in a society with technology
exponentially improving will benefit us when connecting to more things that are real
and in the moment. The idea is not to become completely disconnected with the tech
space, but rather to connect and be involved with life outside of technologyas well.
The point is to become more involved with family and quality time. Yes, we can
still be connected with technology; however, if we take time to disconnect we can
understand what is really going on in our society. Technology is universal no matter
where we go, one use it every day if its traffic lights, bikes, phones, cars,... Show

One just does whatever technology wants them to. For instance you have an iPhone 5
and it perfectly fine, but just because the iPhone 6 comes out you have to get it.
People are oblivious to the negative effects of technology. Technology does has its
benefits but look at the long term effects: the human race is growing thoughtless with
each generation because of the internet and not have real connections with people.
Andrews states, Most people have no idea how much information is collected
surreptitiously about them from social networks and other websites (Andrews 713).
With most sites that one has to make an account in, it usually asks for both first and
last name, email including a conformation within the email, sometimes credit card
number, and even sometimes your address. That right there is enough information to
steal someone s identity. People aren t realizing actually how much information the
internet knows about them. The more advanced we get in technology the lazier
people become. More and more children would rather stay inside and play video
games than go outside to play. Our communication is getting to the point where
people barley have face to face conversations without being distracted by an
electronic device. According to Williams, Even before iPads, there was evidence that
Web centric home life might not, in fact, be eating away at family unity (Williams
Lewis Addison Armistead And The Civil War
Lewis Addison Armistead was a brigadier general in the Confederate Army during
the Civil War. He participated in the Mexican American War, the Mojave War, and
the Civil War. Armistead s heritage included great participation in the military of
the United States and ties to Virginia during the colonial period. Armistead was
born February 18, 1817 in New Bern, North Carolina. Lewis came from a high
ranking military family. His father, George Armistead was the commander of Fort
McHenry during the War of 1812, and his grandfather, John Stanly was a United
Stated Congressman, and uncle Edward Stanly was a military governor of Eastern
North Carolina during the Civil War. Due to his family connection to the United
States military and government, Lewis attended the West Point in 1834. He
attended West Point as a cadet until he broke a plate over Jubal Early s head, which
led to his dismissal in 1836. Along with the misconduct, he had troubles
academically with French class. After his dismissal he was still able to attain a spot
in the Sixth US Infantry as second lieutenant on July 10, 1839 from George
Armistead s help. Later he was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1844 after serving
under his father in the Second Seminole War. Lewis then married his wife Cecilia
Lee Love later that year. According to militaryhistory.about.com Cecilia was a distant
cousin of Robert E. Lee. They had two children named Walker Keith and Flora Lee.

Defensive Lineman Case Study
Will the Steelers go after a defensive lineman early in this draft? Though the
Steelers defense struggled for much of 2015, one area emerged as one of the best
young groups in football: the defensive line. Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt
combined for 13.5 sacks on the year and were both a force in a run defense that
was fifth in the league. But outside of these two young thoroughbreds, the rest of
the defensive line was average at best. Steve McLendon had another so so season
while Cam Thomas made about $222,222 per tackle in 2015 (his salary was $2
million). They both now hit free agency, but McLendon is the only one out of the two

His combination of speed off the ball and upper body strength allows him to blow
past offensive lineman. Over his four years, Butler racked 28.5 tackles for loss
including 22.5 in the last two. Even if he is double teamed, he is able to either
fight it off or eat the double preventing lineman from climbing up to the
linebackers. Butler has great hand movement and placement, which not only
benefits him in the run game but the passing game. He can rush from anywhere on
the defensive line using his tremendous athleticism. His bull rush and swim move
have been devastating Conference USA linemen thanks to his freakily large arms.
However, he only totaled 5 sacks in his career. Still, Butler was named first team
all conference his junior and senior year. He also made preseason award watch lists
in 2015, but failed to gain any national hype. Adding Butler to the great duo of
Heyward and Tuitt will be a great upgrade. He is a much better penetrator than
McLendon and more versatile. Like Tuitt was in his rookie season, Butler may need
a season under his belt until he provides the impact the Steelers need. But with the
type of talent he possesses, his addition to the defensive front will make him a force

Recent Obstacles and Barriers to Voting
In this essay, I would like to discuss the major obstacles to voting, recent changes to
overcome voting barriers and the political influence of changed rules. Low turnout
in the U.S. reflects that there are obstacles for people to voting and changes to
overcome these obstacles may also bring new problems to different social groups. I
will elaborate on these aspects in the following parts. Obstacles to voting and the
absent voting of pure independents are the reason of low turnout in the U.S. today,
which may also have great influence both politically and legally. The voter turnoutis
the percentage of qualified voters who actually go to an electionto cast a ballot.
Overall, the voter turnout in America is low, with only between 51 and 57 percent of
eligible voters going to polls in presidential electionsfrom 2004 to 2012. The reason
why America has such a low turnout is because of several obstacles in voting. The
U.S. do not provide paid holiday for voters who are workers to vote or well
structured politics for different racial voters, other obstacles like advanced
registration and absentee voting also make the voting more difficult for voters. The
pure independents, who are unlike independent leaners or behaviour independents,
are less well informed and less care about the election information and also
definitely less likely to vote on the Election Day, they do not have any preference for
any candidates or parties. As Hershey mentioned in his book,
Carbon Nanotubes ( Cnts ) Are Molecular Scale
Cylindrical...
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are molecular scale cylindrical tubes of graphitic carbon1.
Their unique structures give them an extremely large surface area, good electronic
conductivity, excellent thermal stability and strength. CNTs have been successfully
applied in various fields such as medicine delivery2, aerospace3, construction4 and
incorporated into numerous consumer products5, with potential uses in everything
from tennis racquets and bulletproof vests to electronic components and energy
storage devices. The size of global CNTs market is estimated to reach $ 5.64 billion
by 2020 from $ 2.26 billion in 20156. Therefore, the likelihood of CNTs being
released into the environmentduring their manufacture, use and disposal of products
containing CNT has definitely increased7. Despite exceptional properties that are
valuable in many applications, there is potential concern regarding its negative
influence on environmental or human health8. Information on the amounts of CNTs
accumulated or deposited in various environmental matrices is required before any
risk or hazardous assessment can be conducted. Typical methods that can be used for
determining carboncontent such as total organic carbon (TOC) analysis simply
provide a nonspecific measurement of carbon, and are not able to distinguish CNTs
from other carbon sources in environmental matrices. Therefore, a quantitative
method that is specific for CNTs is needed.
Quantification of CNTs in complex environmental media is still
Global Entrepreneurship Monitor ( Gem )
The business environment, which the entrepreneur operates in, has varying impact
on business performance (Ahmad et al 2010). Social norms are known to be one of
the most significant factors within the business environment (Hong and Kacperczyk
2009). Owing to the fact that social norms differ across nations and cities, the level
of entrepreneurial competencies influenced by culture can be assumed to be
different. Therefore, a country comparison between the two countries, UK and
Singapore, will be conducted using the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).
Paul Reynolds and a team of scholars created the GEM model for an international
index aimed to be an equivalent for entrepreneurship and enterprise of the World
Economic Forum s Global Competitiveness Index (Reynolds et al 2005). This
reputable model outlines two business processes that they suggestively associate with
the growth or decline of an economy. GEM contributing authors describes: The first
process portrays existing routine business activity and its antecedents. GEM proposes
an additional complementary process in which individuals perceive opportunities and
are thereby promoted to create new business activity, which in turn is proposed to
impact economic growth (Levie and Autio, 2008, p.237). Using data from GEM
(2014) allows this study to narrow in and investigate how the UK and Singapore are
alike on business performance and entrepreneurial competencies. The entrepreneurial
environment within the UK and

inspired, even though they are down by fifteen points with five minutes left in the
game? The band is that group. The band works for over twenty hours a week to do
what many people take for granted, music. Yet the band departments receive the least
amount of support in many high schools. Throughout a student s career, they are
encouraged to do something outside of the classroom. Whether a sport, a club, or
combination of the two everyone has a place where they excel. That something that

Also throughout the past year the marching band earned a superior at state, three

band has placed first in several competitions, including the Olde English Festival of
Bands they placed first in every category (Overman). Yet this band did not get the
chance to show their hometown. A few weeks ago the band tried to play at a

from all over the country flew, drove, or walked to the stadium to see the band

Stinging Nettle Research Paper
Stinging Nettle
Stinging nettle is a broad leafed plant that can cause a hive like rash and burning
(urticarial) after being touched. Hives are itchy, red, swollen areas of your skin.
This reaction is caused by hairs on the leaves of the stinging nettle plant. When you
touch or make contact with the plant, these tiny hairs break off and release acid into
your skin. This causes a chemical called histamine to be released by cells in your
skin. Both of these chemicals are irritating to your skin and can cause a rash.
In severe cases, the rash may be followed by swelling in other parts of your body,
such as your eyes, lips, tongue, throat, or hands.

and tried to fix it without having to kill the master. But eventually the butler got
caught and the master sat up and looked at the door with the butler there not moving
at all.A few moments later the butler went insane and hit his master right in the head
and knocked the poor old man out then pushed his bead on top of him and jumped
onto the bead killing the old man. After that he cut up the body and completely
dismembered it into many pieces in a bathtub so he could just wash the blood down
the drain. But as the butler was killing the master he was caught in the act by his ...

Both of these stories were very creepy and horrific. The Landlady was a silent killer
as well as the butler in Tell Tale Heart they were also both smart killer just the boy
wasn t that clever about his murder. The stories both ended in a cliffhanger which
really made me mad because I was really into both of the stories. They also both
acted like they were pretty trusting people so they were obviously liked. They also
both killed their victims at nighttime. They were also both short stories instead of

You re in a tent in the middle of wilderness. After having a deep sleep, you get up
and go out of your tent to find a beautiful sunset coming out right from the horizon
with its bright colors, you stretch your arms feeling the cold breeze tickling your
body. You go towards the cold fire from the night before, you start warming it up a

III. Unlike RTW, flashpacking consists of traveling at ease, as it is commonly
defined: to backpack in style
A It resembles to the regular RTW in the most general traits of traveling abroad and
discovering new lands and cultures but is mainly directed towards the fanciest of
available options. According to Google Dictionaries, flashpacking has an association
of more disposable income while traveling and has been defined simply as
backpacking with a bigger budget. So it s targeted towards the high budget housing,
activities, luxury which a flash packer permits himself in order to have the best out
of his special trip.
B Such types of higher traveling standards englobes traveling while holding a lot of
tech gear like IPads and Laptops which are usually highly used to broadcast live the
packer s experiences so there s a need for wifi at the luxury hotel, as stated in an
article entitled Flashpacking on www.hostelbookers.com
Identity In Comedy Of Errors And The Brothers
Identity is also another major theme in The Comedy of Errors and The Brothers
Menaechmus. While the plays are obviously about misidentification, even before
the actual misidentification occurs do we see discussions on the nature of identity.
In this play, it is seen that identity is determined, in part, by one s relationship with
other people. The loss of the family comes a loss of identity because of the
importance of familial relationships. With the loss of his wife, Egeon loses his
identity as a husband; with the loss of his twin, Antipholus S. loses his identity as a
brother. They no longer have these relationship to determine their identities. In fact,
the split between Egeon s past and present states can be seen in the states of his sons,

Menaechmus II, who is analogous to Antipholus of Syracuse, searches for his
brother in order to restore his family while Menaechmus I seeks to escape these
bonds. At the end of the play, both of those desires are realized with Menaechmus I
outright rejecting his responsibilities auctioning off his slaves and goods, his farm
and city house, his everything in order to start a new life with his brother. In the
end, everyone gets what they want: Menaechmus of Syracuse has found his
brother, Menaechmus of Epidamnus has escaped his world of obligations, and
Messenio is freed in this festive celebration that represents the festival world of
comedy itself (Maurice 57). However, while both sets of twins in each of the plays
get their happy endings, these happy endings come about for different reasons. In
Errors, the play ends happily because the world returns to order and sense because
of the restoration of the family and of the family identity. In The Brothers
Menaechmus, the happy ending comes about due to the fulfillment of individual
desires. Menaechmus I s primary motivation to leave with his brother is not a sense
of family responsibility, but his desire to leave his old life and be free of his current
responsibilities. There is no return to order. If anything, Menaechmus I leaving with
his brother causes further disruptions to the social order by inverting the Roman
values of industria, gravitas, and
Voluntary Services In Non-Profit Organizations
You have brought many important points to this week s discussion, and I agree with
majority of them; in particular your argument regarding communication. I render
voluntary services in a non profit organization for many years; I have witnessed how
changes are implemented right away. Although that these changes have been
analyzed by the leaders and most experienced individuals in the organization,
volunteers often are not acquainted of these changes until leaders announce the
changes. Despite changes usually lead to the organization improvement, ineffective
communication channels leaves a bad taste among the workforce. Almost all changes
in the workplace cause uncertainty since most employees may question their ability
to adjust to them (self efficacy).
Leading With Jesus
Leading with Jesus Leading others is a lot like skinning a cat, there are multiple
ways to do. Similarly, some of these ways will produce positive results, while
others will leave you wish you thought your decisions through a little bit more. In a
world driven so much by ego, it is hard work to get a group of people to work
together with the group s best interest in mind. Leaders need to be open to new
ideas on how to relate to the people they are leading. If they fail to find ways to
connect with the people they are leading, it will spell disaster for their group. This
paper will lay out ideas that will allow its reader to formulate an approach that will
allow them to take lead in any group and achieve desired their desired results.... Show

(Belhaven, 2015). In other terms, leaders prepare and make sure that their followers
are ready to take on the tasks that they are to be presented with. The model has strong
purposes currently in fields such as athletic coaching and in the military. Coaches
work to prepare their athletes for competition by practicing and repeating techniques.
They also scout their opponents and then use the information found while scouting to
help prepare their their team for the upcoming opponent. In the military, numerous
tasks and tests are presented to members to make sure they are prepared for the
dealings they will have when they are on their own and in battle.
This leadership model has strong ties to the greatest leader of all, Jesus Christ.
Christ used this type of modeling when he prepared his apostles for their ministry
work in Matthew. Christ began by laying out the the mission, gave them authority
over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to cure every disease and every sickness.
(Matthew 10:15, New Revised Standard Version). He gave them that authority in
order to prepare them for the unclean cities and people they were to encounter. As
He continue to address these 12, Christ explained to them they were to proclaim the
good news, The kingdom of heaven has come near. (Matt. 10:7, NRSV). By
addressing the people of the cities to this news, the apostles would also use a form of
situational leadership by preparing the people for

Public Sector in India
Overview of Central Public Sector Enterprises
The government owned corporations play a pivotal role in the economic development
of emerging economies because their participation is higher in the industrial and
commercial activities of these economies. Resource constraints and limited scope of
the private sector in the early stages of development and planning have set the stage
for predominance of the public enterprises in these economies. Thus, public sectors in
the leading developing countries of the world (including the countries in the BRIC
region) play a very important role.
Investments in public sector enterprises have also been greater and have continued to
accelerate growth in core sectors of a developing economy (such as ... Show more

In 1969, the government nationalised 14 major banks.
The Industrial Licensing Policy 1970 placed certain restrictions on undertakings
belonging to large industrial houses defined on the basis of assets exceeding Rs 350
mn. In 1973, the definition of large industrial houses was adopted in conformity with
that of the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act (MRTPA) 1969 and
included companies whose assets exceeded Rs 200 mn. This move intended to
provide the government more effective control on concentration of economic power.
The Industrial Policy 1977 provided greater interaction between agriculture and
industrial sectors. The Industrial Policy Statement of July 1980 spelt out major
policy initiatives such as XVIII optimum utilisation of installed capacity, correction of
regional imbalances, high employment generation, promotion of economic
federalism, and more importantly, focused on reviving efficiency of public sector
enterprises through a time bound programme of corrective action on a unit by unit
basis.
The next major policy initiated by the government was the announcement of the
Statement on Industrial Policy in July 1991. This statement consisted of the
following strategic decisions:
The entire portfolio of investments made in the public sector was to be reviewed with
an aim to focus on sectors of strategic importance,

How To Write An Essay On Yourself

  • 1. How To Write An Essay On Yourself Writing an essay on the topic of "How To Write An Essay On Yourself" is a peculiar challenge. It's akin to attempting to explain the process of self-reflection while engaging in that very process. The inherent paradox lies in the task itself – you are expected to objectively dissect and present your own thoughts, experiences, and personality, a task that requires a delicate balance between humility and self-promotion. Embarking on such an essay demands a profound understanding of oneself. You must scrutinize your own life, experiences, and beliefs, discerning the moments that shaped you and the values that define you. This introspective journey is not only time-consuming but also emotionally taxing, as you grapple with the challenge of translating your complex identity into a coherent narrative. Moreover, the challenge extends beyond self-awareness. It requires a mastery of language, an ability to articulate your thoughts with clarity and precision. Striking the right tone becomes crucial – too boastful, and you risk coming across as arrogant; too self-deprecating, and your achievements might be overshadowed. Balancing confidence with humility is a tightrope walk that requires a nuanced understanding of your own narrative. The essay on "How To Write An Essay On Yourself" becomes a meta-reflection, as you find yourself applying the very principles you are attempting to elucidate. It's an intricate dance between self-expression and the expectations of your audience. You must anticipate the reader's perspective, crafting a story that is not just about you but is also relatable and engaging for others. In the end, the difficulty lies not just in the technical aspects of essay writing, but in the vulnerability and authenticity required to genuinely share your story. It is a journey of self- discovery that goes beyond the confines of grammar and structure, delving into the essence of who you are. And remember, if the challenge becomes too overwhelming, there are resources available to assist you. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can help navigate the intricate process of introspection and self-expression. • 2. Examples Of Conflict In The Wizard Of Oz To begin, the type of conflict in the Wizard of Oz is person versus self. To start, in the movie The Wizard of Oz during the initial incident, Dorothy ends up in the tornado, then Oz. Dorothy has always wanted to go somewhere over the rainbow, and there she is. However, she would later have many other emotions that aren t just happiness. In addition, during the climax scene, Dorothy accidentally melts the witch. The Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow get what they wanted from the Wizard. Throughout their adventures in Oz, Dorothy realized that she just wanted to go home. Her homesickness caused emotions that motivated her to go home, and sometimes her emotions brought the worst out of her. Last, in the denouement, Dorothy finally made it home, and she was in a coma the whole time. Now that Dorothy is home, the conflict is resolved because that is what she wanted all along. So, the type of conflict is person versus self because Dorothy experiences all these emotions when she finally is away from home, and she just wants to go home.... • 3. How Learning Can Be Very Challenging For Some Learning can be very challenging for some, everyone has a different way of learning. I would explain learning as something you want to do, not something you have to do. It s much easier to learn when it s a choice instead of a chore. My views on learning have changed dramatically from when I have first started the online college. Before I started online college, I was afraid to go back to school because, I didn t do well in high school. I thoughtI was just not smart enough to every continue my education. • 4. Five Impetitive Forces Of IBM In the epoch of globalization and widespread use of technologies, emerging trends change rapidly. Thus, the future of any competitive company becomes less and less predictable. To avoid this situation, enterprises apply risk prevention and mitigation strategies aimed to remove the general threat of substitution. However, a biggest danger derives from small day to day changes which are likely to affect the businesses slowly but notably. Taking IBM as a vivid example of a successful company, it is reasonable to claim that it also is endangered by non linear changes and needs to be ready for the uncertain future. To prepare the organization for potential unstable situations, it is important to consider five competitive forces of the company as well as global technological trends, in accordance with the specialization of a business entity. First, the influence of customer and supplier power, established rivals, new entrants or substitutes may notably impact the productivity and profitability of IBM (Porter, 2008). To neutralize the supplier s power, the IT company needs to put efforts into improvement of its production process because it mostly relies on staff. To attract consumers, IBM can focus on the idea of multiplatform consisting of several technological start ups, where each one has a different function. As a result, with the versatile range a products, it would be easier for the company to pressure new entrants and spend more resources on research and development (R D).

Comparison Of Genesis 1 And Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths Jia GuoBen Smuin Section A02 Critical Reading Assignment July 14th, 2015 Summary of Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths In the feature article Genesis 1 and Ancient Egyptian Creation Myths, the scholar Gordon H. Johnston, identifies the relationship between Genesis 1 and ancient Egyptian cosmogony by analyzing the parallels, similarities, and differences with respect to literature and theology. In order to verify Genesis 1 corresponds with Egyptian creation myths from the literary perspective, Gordon indicates three parallels between Genesis 1 and the Egyptian creation traditions: lexical, structural, and thematic. (Johnston 182) Furthermore, Gordon makes a thorough exploration in theology since he detects the numerous parallels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First of all, Gordon believes lexical parallels exist in both Genesis 1 and Egyptian materials in light of the equivalent expression in the beginning , in which means the moment of the creative activity begins. (Johnston 183) Second of all, Gordon clarifies that Genesis 1 and Egyptian mythic cycles share structural parallels. In specific, Hermopolis constructs a similar storyline with Genesis 1, and Memphis also applies to Memphite theology as well as Genesis 1. (Johnston 182 184) Third of all, Gordon illustrates Genesis 1 conceptually parallels with Egyptian creation due to the numerous thematic parallels. More specifically, the tradition of Hermopolis shows the birth of sun god is later than the emergence of supernatural light, and Genesis 1 concretely expounds the fact that God created the light on Day 1 and sun not until Day 4. (Johnston 187) Nevertheless, Gordon queries himself that the literary parallels are not occasional because both Genesis 1 and Egyptian creation myths are originated from some of the real historical connect . Hence, he generates the literary parallels cannot be the decisive factor to determine the relationship between them. (Johnston

Throughout his career he created one of the first empirically based methods of understanding the human psyche. These methods are often summarized under the term Psychoanalysis and it is defined by a series of theories which connect the human experience to human behaviors and motivations. These theories consist of development analyses based around psychological, physiological, and psychosexual growth. A societal participant must display a sense of morality; or the ability to determine right from wrong. The moral compass was a result of a humans Superego according to Freud. The superego was believed to develop later on after the Ego, which was in turn developed just after birth. The superego allows for a higher level understanding of human relations; and creates motivations to care for other humans beyond a direct benefit to ones self. A parallel development to the ID Ego Superego process is the psychosexual stages of human consciousness. These stages develop over the first few years a child s life; and Freud believed they were the primary component of sexual development in the psyche. From birth to 18 months a child experiences the oral stage of psychosexuality; this time period finds the child focused on the erogenous zone of the mouth. Exploration comes in the form of eating or sucking on things; and the brain builds a relationship between these actions and pleasure. This stage can carry extreme significance and Freud believed that events like withheld food can severely impact the child s sense of trust as an adult. After the 18 month period
  • 12. Teacher Reflection This passage from the book exemplifies the importance of a role that a teacher plays in a child s life. Teachers have the ability to improve a child s life without even realizing it a refreshing revelation for both new and old teachers who may often wonder if they have ever made a difference. In most classrooms there will be students who will say they do not wish to be there and do not want to learn. And while the student s unwillingness to learn is frustrating for teachers at times, the teacher creates the learning environment and can do much to motivate her students to succeed. By implementing effective teaching strategies, teachers can influence and motivate their students. Tracy Kidder wrote Among Schoolchildren after spending nine months in Mrs. Zajac s fifth grade classroom located in the Flats of Massachusetts. This books gives an insight to many in the education field about how economic class, ethnicity, and parental involvement can harm or benefit education. • 15. The Two Witnesses of Revelation Who are the witnesses of Revelation 11? What is there importance? There are multiple theories on who these witness are. One of the most popular theories is that it will be Elijah and Enoch because they were taken away by God before their death.(2 Kings 2:11; Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5) Others believe that it will be Moses, who turned water to blood and sent other plagues on Egypt, and Elijah because he stopped the rain in Israel for 3 1/2 years. (Exodus 7 12; 1 Kings 17:1) Another theory believes that the two witnessesare the two houses of Israel. Finally, another theory is that these two witnesses will be completely new. All of these have different twists and use scripture to back them up. However, almost everyone believes their importance in the end times because it is pretty clearly stated in the Bible. (Revelation 11: 1 14) First, let us look at the theory that the Moses and Elijah are the two witnesses. The most common reason to believe Moses and Elijah are the two witnesses are because the miracles they will perform are similar to the judgments inflicted in the Old Testament by Moses and Elijah for the purpose of stimulating repentance. Elijah called down fire from heaven (2 Kings 1:10, 12) and pronounced a three and one half year drought on the land (1 Kings 17:1; James 5:17) the same length as the drought brought by the two witnesses (Rev. 11:6). Many people believe that removing weapons from the hands of citizens is the only way to stop criminals from shooting down people at malls and kids at schools, but this is not the case. Switzerland has the lowest gun crime rates in the world, despite giving everyone a high powered, fully automatic firearm. Another hot topic that politicians debate about is allowing assault rifles, or select fire guns (capable of semi automatic or fully automatic fire),which have the ability to shoot rounds as long as you can hold the trigger down, in the hand of American citizens. Currently, eight states have banned owning assault weapons in some sense. Some may argue that these guns are overkill, and aren t practical for hunting or self defense, whereas other firearms fill that position well. • 18. Crossing The Red Sea By Peter Skrzynecki s The journey, not the arrival is what matters in human experience. It can be said that when one takes the first steps of a journey, that person will be forever changed as they will no longer be the way they were. As on travels, through physical or inner journeys the experiences one has, the decisions one makes and the affects of those decisions enables one to grow and develop in new and unexpected ways. These ideas are explored in Roberts frosts poem the road not taken and Peter Skrzynecki s poem crossing the red sea in both poems, journey is represented as both a physical and inner state of journeying that all people experience Journeys last forever. Decisions that lead to another can continue throughout one s life. Proof of this is embedded in way leads on to way ,a form of repetition shows the continuous nature of the process of journeying. Ages and ages hence also represents the similar idea, future tense is used show how the future is undeniably full of new and exciting journeys. Both quotes allow us to understand that the persona understands that journey is continuous/that a journey never ends. Frost shows us that there are a number of possibilities that can all be assessed once a decision is made. The idea is reinforced in peters poem. Decisions made in a journey can lead to another and can continue throughout one s life, this is seen in the phrase beyond whose waters the equator was still to be crossed this brings a sense of optimism that the journey is still continuing bringing new life to the passengers of the ship the phrase uses foreshadowing to continue the point that journeys last forever that there will always be a journey no matter what and a decision in a journey can affect the journey all together. Small decisions can have a big/lasting impact on the journey. A minor decision might seem like it has a quick and easy answer but it s not always the case. the decision made in a journey have a lasting impact on the future of that journey frost uses oh I kept the first for another day/I doubted if iI should ever come back frost uses contradiction to show how this sentiment is only to make him feel better and that further on there will be more forks in the road. showing us the strength f

He is severely troubled over the fact that he is growing old, and feels that the best part of his life has passed. His obsession with timethroughout the poem characterizes his fear of growing older. He is a man experiencing a mid life crisis, brought about by his perception of aging and his own feelings of imperfection. He says I have measured out my life with coffee spoons (Eliot 51). This again shows his fixation with the passing of time. His being is lonely and tedious while those younger than him are in a state that is fun and exciting. I know the voices dying with a dying fall beneath the music from a farther room (Eliot 52 53). He can hear the voices of his neighbors but he cannot go to them. He is bothered by the idea of the younger generation judging him. He wishes he could fit in, but believes that cannot be his reality. As time passes so does the soul of the narrator. His heart dissipates by the moment. Even within his imagination he is tortured by the ever present troubles which stay with him throughout his life. He can t even see the point in expressing his love because of the fear of being rejected. Elliot s portrayal of the uncertainties of aging is a major aspect merged into the poem. Although Prufrock is a man of knowledge and society he is still a misfit because of a little characteristic he can do nothing about. Prufrock describes his emotional state as being in a hell, of his own feelings. The first forty eight lines of the poem show the main character thinking

This was the first ever women s rights convention in the United States, and with almost 200 women in attendance. This convention was organized by Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Kelly Stanton, who were both abolitionists that met at the 1840 World Anti Slavery Convention in London. In 1848 at Elizabeth Stanton s home near Seneca Falls, the two women, Mott and Stanton, were working with Martha Wright, Mary Ann McClintock and Jane Hunt, to send out a call for a women s conference to be held at Seneca Falls. On July 19, 1848, 200 women gathered at the Wesleyan Chapel. Stanton read the Declaration of Sentiments and Grievances , something she had written over the previous... The suffrage movement allowed for women to fix their place in society and take a closer step to full equality of people in America. After the suffrage movement, women s economic roles increased in society. Since there were now more educational opportunities, it led more and more women to find and use their potential for meaningful and professional careers. Women s salaries also increased but not to the amount men had received. However, this was still a huge achievement for women because it was such a huge step from what it had been before. The resistance of giving women the right to vote began to cease when the territorial legislature of Wyoming granted women the vote in 1869; it was the first permanent suffrage law in U.S. history. By the 1890 s many states had granted suffrage. By 1913 there were 12 states and the National Woman s Party, under leadership of Alice Paul, decided to harness the voting power of women in those states to push a suffrage resolution through congress. The country s involvement in WWI needed the help of women; which then provided the suffragists their power. When the U.S. entered the war in 1917, a woman s suffrage amendment was submitted into the House of Representatives. By 1919, it was passed by both houses of

Although it was abolished in the 19th century, slavery has been resurrected and has taken the form of human trafficking, a form of modern day slavery, in which thousands of foreign people are smuggled across national borders as forced labor in factories, farms, and brothels. The way human traffickers persuade foreign women into coming to their country is forcing them against their will or falsely promising them the American dream. When you cross the sweeping drama of romance with the macabre isolation of small town life and then throw in a touch of Southern whimsy you ve cooked up a collection of American literature absolutely unique in time, place, and sentiment, Southern gothic. Our ability to stay balanced in a society with technology exponentially improving will benefit us when connecting to more things that are real and in the moment. The idea is not to become completely disconnected with the tech space, but rather to connect and be involved with life outside of technologyas well. The point is to become more involved with family and quality time. Yes, we can still be connected with technology; however, if we take time to disconnect we can understand what is really going on in our society. • 33. Recent Obstacles and Barriers to Voting In this essay, I would like to discuss the major obstacles to voting, recent changes to overcome voting barriers and the political influence of changed rules. Low turnout in the U.S. reflects that there are obstacles for people to voting and changes to overcome these obstacles may also bring new problems to different social groups. I will elaborate on these aspects in the following parts. Obstacles to voting and the absent voting of pure independents are the reason of low turnout in the U.S. today, which may also have great influence both politically and legally. The voter turnoutis the percentage of qualified voters who actually go to an electionto cast a ballot. Overall, the voter turnout in America is low, with only between 51 and 57 percent of eligible voters going to polls in presidential electionsfrom 2004 to 2012. The reason why America has such a low turnout is because of several obstacles in voting. The U.S. do not provide paid holiday for voters who are workers to vote or well structured politics for different racial voters, other obstacles like advanced registration and absentee voting also make the voting more difficult for voters. The pure independents, who are unlike independent leaners or behaviour independents, are less well informed and less care about the election information and also definitely less likely to vote on the Election Day, they do not have any preference for any candidates or parties. As Hershey mentioned in his book,

Their unique structures give them an extremely large surface area, good electronic conductivity, excellent thermal stability and strength. CNTs have been successfully applied in various fields such as medicine delivery2, aerospace3, construction4 and incorporated into numerous consumer products5, with potential uses in everything from tennis racquets and bulletproof vests to electronic components and energy storage devices. The size of global CNTs market is estimated to reach $ 5.64 billion by 2020 from $ 2.26 billion in 20156. Therefore, the likelihood of CNTs being released into the environmentduring their manufacture, use and disposal of products containing CNT has definitely increased7. Despite exceptional properties that are valuable in many applications, there is potential concern regarding its negative influence on environmental or human health8. Information on the amounts of CNTs accumulated or deposited in various environmental matrices is required before any risk or hazardous assessment can be conducted. Typical methods that can be used for determining carboncontent such as total organic carbon (TOC) analysis simply provide a nonspecific measurement of carbon, and are not able to distinguish CNTs from other carbon sources in environmental matrices. Therefore, a quantitative method that is specific for CNTs is needed. Quantification of CNTs in complex environmental media is still

Owing to the fact that social norms differ across nations and cities, the level of entrepreneurial competencies influenced by culture can be assumed to be different. Therefore, a country comparison between the two countries, UK and Singapore, will be conducted using the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). This reputable model outlines two business processes that they suggestively associate with the growth or decline of an economy. GEM contributing authors describes: The first process portrays existing routine business activity and its antecedents. GEM proposes an additional complementary process in which individuals perceive opportunities and are thereby promoted to create new business activity, which in turn is proposed to impact economic growth (Levie and Autio, 2008, p.237). Using data from GEM (2014) allows this study to narrow in and investigate how the UK and Singapore are alike on business performance and entrepreneurial competencies.
