Part 1. Normal Distributions and Birth Weights in America
1) What percent of the babies born with each gestation period have a low birth

3) No, the ages are not normally distributed because with the view of the histogram, it
is not bell shaped.
4)

Histogram is approximately bell shaped and symmetric and agrees with the results
predicted by the Central Limit Theorem which says that whatever the population
shape, the sampling distribution is approximately normal
5) Standard deviation = 3.5518 ( = STDEV formula was used) Standard deviation of
population = 22.57 Standard deviation of sample mean=Standard deviation / sqauare

These two values are close; thus the result predicted by central limit theorem is true.

The IPO of XYZ Construction Inc. Essay
XYZ Construction Inc. like many other organizations has outgrown its geographical
boundaries and as a result the leadership team plans on expanding its horizontal
construction nationally and internationally. du Plessis (2009) suggested that
globalization and internationalization challenges are now demanding that
organizational managers fine tune or draft new policies and procedures to stay
competitive in the global markets. As such, the leadership within XYZ Construction
Inc. has also decided to transition from a private to a public ownership construct and
launch its initial public offering(IPO). Going forward there is a number of issues that
need to be briefed to the executive level within XYZ Construction, Inc. Specifically,
there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons is that Chinese IPO markets are known to be extremely
underpriced and as a result China ranks first among 45 countries with respect to
IPO underpricing. Guo et al. (2011) also suggested that there is a great number of
optimistic investors waiting for high initial day returns despise the greatly reduced
potential benefit from IPOs, nevertheless they are still thought to be highly
profitable. Lastly, during the last decade or so the IPO market in China has
developed and maintained a good track record for profits. Consequently, the China
example is encouraging to support the investors desire to launch XYZ Construction,
Inc. IPO, which as aforementioned may very well benefit from an underpriced IPO
market. Additionally, it is prudent to point out that there are expenses associated
with an IPO yet these are worth in the long run. As suggested by Booth (2011.)
Underpricing comes at the expense of the original owners and venture capitalists of
the issuing firm (Booth, 2011, p. 4). However, there is a general tendency that
investors do not sell their shares after the lockup period expires, nevertheless,
underpricing will be considered a predictable cost of going public (Booth, 2011).
Lastly, XYZ Construction, Inc. stakeholders should realize encouraging results as
capital is generated while simultaneously growing the market capital in both domestic
and international markets.

The Presence-Absence Of Opium In Sumerian Cuneiform
The presence absence of opium in the ancient Near East and Mesopotamia is a topic
debated for almost a century. In 1928 Charles Terry and Nildred Pellens, following an
interpretation of R. Doughert started the debate trying to identify opium in Sumerian
Cuneiform word hul gil, in which hul would mean opium and gil, joy . In 1949
Reginald Campbell Thompson, in an extensive paper on Assyrian botany, recognized
opium in another Sumerian term, Гє nam ti (or Гє nam til la), literally the plant of life
, corresponding to the Akkadian irrГ». This term, according to Thompson, would
mean coursing, in the sense of a prophecy expressed under the narcotic effect, by
binding to the same concept the words ЕЎam and araru. From attempts to recognize

Risk And Politics Of Disaster Coverage
Analysis of Risk and Politics of Disaster Coverage in Haiti and Katrina
Introduction and Purpose of the Study The article, Risk and Politics of Disaster
Coverage in Haiti and Katrina, by Jennifer Petersen of the University of Virginia,
which appeared in the journal Communication, Culture Critique in 2014, provides a
comparison and contrast of the media coverage of Hurricane Katrina (2005), which
devastated the U.S. Gulf Coast and was the costliest natural disaster in the nation s
history, and the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti, which devastated one of the poorest
nations in the Western Hemisphere. The purpose of the article is to discuss the
reasons why the news media framed Hurricane Katrina as an unmitigated and
unimaginable catastrophe that violated expected norms, while the 2010 Haiti
earthquake was framed as an almost routine and manageable crisis, despite the fact
that the Haiti earthquake caused much more loss of life and human suffering than
Katrina. This purpose is discussed in both the short, nine line abstract, and the
introduction.
Literature Review and Research Questions Petersen cites more than 50 sources as
references for her study. Many of these sources are the news programs on NBC and
CNN, which she compared when reviewing the coverage of each disaster. However,
the reference list also includes a fair number of other scholarly journal articles and
publications by reputable academic publishers. The author provides the
Travel Agency Supply Chain Essay
Supply Chain in the Travel Industry The travel industry is an industry that is in
constant change. It is the type of industry that must change with the times, including
how it conducts business, how it sells its products and services, and how each link of
their supply chain works and connects with the rest of the chain. While each brick
and mortar location and travel websiteare similar to their counter parts, each one has
a varying supply chain they use in order to get their product and services to the
customer. We will take a look at how a brick and mortar travel agencyuses its supply
chain, and how changing to a website location can and will affect their supply chain.

Their offices would include customer service agents, also known as travel agents,
at desks and computers ready to punch in when, where, and what you wanted to do
on a trip. Their offices would be filled with posters of exotic locations and
pamphlets full of information and ideas to make your vacation perfect. In order to
provide this service to the customer, the agency would begin by making deals
business to business with the airlines, hotels, cruise lines and car rental agencies.
Their supply chain would begin with those businesses by making deals that they
would use their products when arranging plans for their customers. Their supplies
would include contractual agreements, as well as informational brochures. For
instance, a travel agency would make a deal with certain hotels to try and use them
when reserving rooms for their customers. The hotel would then give the travel
agency a commission off the room as payment. Business to business links would
also come in the form of finding locations to rent for their offices, as well as places
to purchase their office furniture and computer systems. There would be the need for
travel agents for serving the customers, as well as advertising and distribution of
information to potential customers. Hotels, airlines, car rentals, cruise ships, and
cities visitor bureau would all make deals with the agencies in order to have their
information posted within the agencies
The Impact Of Media On Technology On Our Lives Essay
Often, we take for granted the significance of media within our lives. Experimenting
without media usage for a day, I was amazed at the change in my thought and
behavior. Personal experiences and examples provide proof of new ideas and present
theories, discussed and developed within the essay. Presenting a balance to the
subject, there is an analysis to both the positivity and negativity behind abandoning
media. Within the essay, the reader is able to attain a college point of view,
illustrating the role mass mediaplays while in class, working on homework, eating
with friends, or playing a sport. Ultimately, the essay enhances the importance of our
dependency on technology and our path to robotic communication.
A Response to Media Fasting Completing the media fast assignment was one of the
most difficult, frustrating, and engaging tasks that I have ever participated in. After
two failed attempts of living without my iphone for twenty four hours, I was forced
to lock my phone up, physically detaching myself from it. Although my failed
attempts occurred because of unconsciously responding to a text or checking the
time, close observation of my habitual phone patterns proved to be truly remarkable.
Media, as a whole, occupies a huge part of our lives, keeping us connected and up to
date with the latest news, trends, and advertisements. Subtracting media out of my
life for a day actually made me feel unconnected from others, which I never would
imagine to occur.

Essay On Ancient Egyptian Architecture
The architecture in ancient Egypt is one of the largest and most beautiful civilizations
in the whole history according to the big monuments and famous places like temples,
pyramids. And in this essay I ll be talking about the history of the architecture in
ancient Egypt and how they built some of the large monuments. To begin with, in
ancient Egyptthey hadn t much wood for building so they used sun baked mud
bricks and stones, also they used the stones to build tombs and temples; in addition,
they used bricks to build castles and royal palaces; but, before they put any stone or
brick they used granite as a carcass for building. Furthermore, ancient Egyptians used
mud to build their houses after collecting it from the NileRiver and putting the mud
into molds and dry it by using the sun. To continue with, the architectures in ancient

the temple and its entrance that shows Ptolemy XII defeats his enemies. Of all the

huge Ptolemaic temple was constructed over the site of a smaller earlier temple,

Ophelia Foil To Hamlet
In a play filled with despair and suffering, love can still play an important role.
Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare, is a play about revenge with
eight deaths. Despite this, the relationship between two characters, Hamlet and
Ophelia is extremely vital to the theme of the work and influences how the characters
in the play act. It does this through how Ophelia acts like a foil to Hamlet, how the
pair views each other, and what themes present in the play the relationship
emphasizes..
One of the important points in the relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia is how
Ophelia acts like a foil to Hamlet. One of the ways Ophelia dos this is through her
madness. While Hamlet fakes madness, Ophelia is actually mad. Hamlet spends the
How Technology Has Changed Our Visual Learning
Introduction: Look around this classroom, over there lies the projector we use for
of our visual learning. Over there lies the teacher s computer which she uses to
make handouts and other learning tools. Over there lies the speaker in, which we
have for auditory learning. The future is bright and it s going to be brighter than ever
before. Look at all the opportunities we will get in the futurethrough technology,
educationand jobs. Today I m here to convince to you that the future is bright.
Technology:
Look at what has already been done through technology.
We have come up with some of the most amazing ideas ever.
Technology has helped us to accomplish simple tasks, and bring us to the world we
live in now.
Simple pieces of technology such as heaters and microwaves may seem like
nothing. But can you imagine waking up in the morning to a 5 degree house, or not
being able to warm up your food. It would be painful right?
Look around you. Probably only a few centimeters away is your beloved phone,
computer, and tablet. Look around this classroom, projectors, heaters, speakers,
laptops, phones and many more.
The internet is also a form of technology that has revolutionised the way of life. So
many people will argue about how the internet is ruining our lives with Bad role
models, over obsessions and many others. ~But everything aside; the internet is an
amazing place that has improved our way of life. Technology is transforming our
lives.

Ethical Hacking And Information Security Essay
Ethical Hacking and Information Security
Merriam Webster defines Hacker as, a person who secretly gets access to a computer
system in order to get information, cause damage. But what if I told you that having a
hacker is necessary? Ethical Hacking is paramount to the security of our Information
Technologies (IT). The task of testing your computers and network for security
vulnerabilities and plugging the vulnerabilities you find before the opposition gets a
chance to exploit them. Without having the ability to do what devious personnel can
do inside your IT, you will never fully understand the holes in your security.
It all began in the 1960s at MIT, origin of the term hacker , but the science dates
back to 1903 to the first ever documented hacking of an electronic device. In 1932,
Marian Rejewski hacked the German Enigma Machine. The Enigma machine was an
electromechanical device, equipped with a 26 letter keyboard and 26 lamps,
relating to the letters of the alphabet. Inside was a set of wired drums (rotors and a
reflector) that jumbled the input. The Enigma used a plug board to swap pairs of
letters, and the encryption varied from one key press to the next. For two operators
to communicate, both Enigma machines had to be set up in the same way. The large
number of possibilities for setting the rotors and the plug board combined to form an
exponential number of configurations, and the settings were changed daily, so the
machine code had to be broken each day. Marian s
I Want To Pursue A Degree In Kinesiology
I have always been interested in physical activities and how it can influence an
individual s mental and physical health. My passion towards athletics developed at a
young age as I have been involved in various sports including swimming and tennis.
Moreover, my desire to study Kinesiology stems from the technological development
and its impact on modern society. As technology advances, it allows for many
individuals to become dependent on their devices thus proposing healthrisks. I wish to
pursue a Bachelor of Kinesiologydegree in hopes to promote a healthier lifestyle
amongst society and gain a greater understanding of how physical movements can

In addition, I have received a certificate for completing a customer service and
leadership training where we explored how factors like words and physical gestures
can contribute to becoming an effective leader and service provider. Likewise, other
circumstances that helped me pursue leadership opportunities lies within my
association with the dramatic arts council where we promoted dramatic art related
activities. Specific occasions that enabled me to present my leadership skills include
events where we invited students from different elementary schools to show them the
high school and dramatic arts environment. My leadership potential is evident
through my interactions with the students because I have to organize activities and
think of solutions for possible issues that may arise. In doing so, we also wanted
students to understand that dramatic arts includes writing creative pieces and
technological effects like sound and lighting, not just
Health Care Administrator Of A Hospital
Disasters as we know it comes on suddenly without warning, it can happen
anywhere, anytime or at any hour. In order to regain control of an event is to be
prepared at all times. Often, danger occurs, leaving many lives unprepared for
catastrophes or misfortunes. As a Health Care Administrator of a hospital it is
important to be prepared at all times, not only is it a duty, but it is the job of the
Administrator to ensure the safety of its patients at all times. Therefore, it is the
Administrator s duty to ensure their team is prepared at all times for any and all
disasters. Being prepared for each and every incident that arises saves that many
more lives. A conversation about Disaster Preparedness led me to speak with Artie
Salter. Mr. Salter is a Fireman/Emergency Medical Technician, who has been an
active for the more than 17 years at the Charleston County Fire Department, as the
Rank of a Lieutenant. His duty is to respond to emergency calls daily, however his
task as a Fireman/EMT is to be prepared to respond to any type of emergency. As a
result, some days he responds as a Fireman and on other days as an Emergency
Medical Technician. With years of experience, knowledge and understanding of
Disaster Planning, Artie has helped to open my eyes to the untold preparation a
fireman must endure to protect the community in which we live. There are many
days of training and drills that each fireman must attend and pass in order to be
prepared for any and every

Essay on Langston Hughes The Weary Blues
Langston Hughes The Weary Blues
Jazz music is often associated with long, lazy melodies and ornate rhythmical
patterns. The Blues, a type of jazz, also follows this similar style. Langston Hughes
poem, The Weary Blues, is no exception. The sound qualities that make up Hughes
work are intricate, yet quite apparent. Hughes use of consonance, assonance,
onomatopoeia, and rhyme in The Weary Bluesgives the poem a deep feeling of
sorrow while, at the same time, allows the reader to feel as if he or she is actually
listening to the blues sung by the poem s character.
The Blues musical move was prominent during the 1920s and 30s, a time known as
the Harlem Renaissance. Blues music characteristically told the story of ... Show more

Another place that consonance is apparent is in line 5, ?pale, dull pallor of an old
gas light. The sticky l sounds are difficult to produce off of the tongue quickly;
therefore, these words slow the poem down. This is typical of the blues. The slow
sounds of blues music are incorporated in the words of this poem. It seems as if the
words with the l sounds get extra emphasis, as well, because they are so difficult to
pronounce. Added strength through word sounds helps boost the poem s glumness.
Line 10 is another excellent example of consonance in The Weary Blues. The m
and p sounds of He made that poor piano moan with melody give the poem a
juxtaposition of warm sounds from the m to aggressive tones with the sharp p. This
is a nice element as it is characteristic of blues music, as well. Usually there are some
elements of comfort and disdain within the blues. The contrast of the m and p sounds
highlights this very well.
There is a great amount of assonance in The Weary Blues. The first example of
assonance comes right away in the poem. Line 1 opens with the long o sound in
Droning a drowsy syncopated tune and continues with Rocking back and forth to a
mellow croon in line 2. This long o sound is representative of the forlorn blues
aforementioned. The long o is repeated throughout the poem, for example in line 10

book it shows how Charlie being the wallflower he is begins to get out of his

endured when younger that made him become isolated and not let people in to know
the real him. The theme of the book friendship can take you far, since Charlie at first
didn t have many friend he lived in the shadows and did not enjoy normal teenage
activities. Later when he get friends that being to encourage him and help him he
explores his boundaries. Without the support he received he might have fallen
deeper into the pit of depression he was lost in, but because of the people around
him that filled in the gaps he was able to get his life back together and be more
carefree. In general I would recommend this book because you can read the point
of view of someone who has been through so much and was able to come out fine in
the end. Also this book deals with real life topic that can be very controversial which
is why not many people bring them

thing that happens, the adults take control over the family. But now days, in the
modern world children have more of their own opinions of what to do. Readers who

Netflix And The Streaming Application
Introduction
A streaming application is a program that does not require to be pre installed in the
computer, rather it downloads the necessary components when needed. Some of the
applications are so large (sometimes over a gigabyte), that it is not possible to copy
the entire application. When there is request for streaming application, only some
portion of the files are downloaded which is required to launch. Streaming has
become important because not everyone has the fast access to download large files
quickly and due to streaming, the plug in can display the content even before the
entire file has been transmitted. Among numerous streaming applications, the video
streaming is on rise.
Talking About NETFLIX
Netflix is one of the most successful on demand streaming services that exist today.
When it comes to video on demand, Netflix has created a revolution in the field of
digital content. It has a major market in the entertainment section ranging from
movies and TV shows to gaming consoles. Netflix has gained huge response and
audience because it has the ability to stream media on almost all the electronic
devices, be it laptop, PCs, mobile or televisions, providing entertainment on the go
with a very economic rent. Netflix uses Dynamic Streaming over HTTP protocol for
streaming media.
Use of DASH and TCP
DASH enables streaming of high quality media using HTTP servers and TCP as its
transport protocol. It divides the video into small chunks and sends the user one at a
Antoine Lavoisier
Antoine Lavoisier (1743 1794) Antoine Laurent Lavoisier (lah vwah ZYAY) was one
of the best known French scientists and was an important government official. His
theories of combustion, his development of a way to classify the elements and the
first modern textbook of chemistry led to his being known as the father of modern
chemistry. He contributed to much of the research in the field of chemistry. He is
quoted for saying, Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.
Lavoisier was born in Paris, France on Aug. 26, 1743. When he was eleven years old
he attended a college called Mazain. For Lavoisier s last two years in college he
found a great deal of interest in science. He received an excellent education and...

With French astronomer and mathematician Pierre Simon Laplace, Lavoisier
conducted experiments on the respiration in animals. Their studies showed a
similarity between ordinary chemical reactions and the processes that happen in
living organisms. These experiments were the basis for the science now known as
biochemistry. Lavoisier also helped to develop a system for naming chemical
substances based on their composition. This system is still in use. He made the very
first modern chemistry text named Trait eacute; el eacute;mentaire de chimie
(Elements of Chemistry). Many consider it the first textbook on modern chemistry.
Here for the first time the elements are laid out systematically. His list included
many compounds, which were thought to be elements at the time. Lavoisier worked
out reactions in chemical equations that respect the conservation of mass. As a
government official, Lavoisier was successful in creating agricultural reform,
serving as a tax collection official, and overseeing the government s manufacture of
gunpowder. On 1775 he was made commissioner of gunpowder. He was asked to
improve the quality of French gunpowder. This boosted his career. Politically,
Lavoisier was a moderate constitutionalist, and Marat and other radicals hated him
because of this. He became involved in the Ferme Generale, a private tax collection
firm, which became a target during the Terror. When the Reign of Terror erupted in
France, Lavoisier

many themes lied within its script. One theme in particular sticks out throughout the
play and, that theme can be tied to three specific characters. William Shakespeare s
Julius Caesar presents the timeless theme of betrayal can ultimately lead to
absurdity. First, the first betrayal towards Caesar triggers the chaos among the men
in Julius Caesar. Next, Mark Antony s betrayal towards the Senate boosts the
illogicality up to a whole new level. Lastly, the betrayal within the main characters
conclusively ends most of the chaos and the play. Now that the structure for how
betrayal is tied to the characters is laid out, now it s time to state how all that can tie...

First, once Cassius kills himself, the men begin to grieve. When Cassius commits
suicide, which is his betrayal to himself, the men begin to settle their tomfoolery.
Due to the men s betrayal to one another during their war, this leads to a
misunderstanding, which ultimately led to Cassius death. Second, once Portia
commits suicide, this eases Brutus motivation for betrayal because of his wife s
death. Even if Brutus brushes off her death, it really was one of the assets that
drove him off the deep end. Portia s death goes hand in hand with Brutus which
ultimately ended the men acting so absurd. Lastly, due to Brutus suicide, this ends
all the absurdity amongst the men. Once Brutus runs on his sword this sets the final
peace, mainly because there is no one else to betray. This example clearly states
how betrayal leads to complete chaos, once there is no one else to betray there s
finally peace. In conclusion, the betrayal that had happened amongst the men and
Romans (suicide) in the play was what conclusively ended most of the chaos. With
self betrayal being represented with suicide, after a good amount of characters
commit suicide, there isn t anyone else to betray. So this ultimately ends the
The Beveridge Report On Social Insurance
The Beveridge report was announced in 1942 by William Beveridge who was a
British economist and social reformer. In 1942 William Beveridge was given a
task of directing a government report on Social Insurance and Allied Services. The
beverage report was designed to provide a full system of social insurance from
cradle to the grave . It was also planned that all people should pay a weekly support
to the state. He came out with the Beveridge report which is properly named as A
Report on Social Insurance and Allied Services. It was introduced in order to
tackle the five giants of economic hardships Want, ignorance, idleness, squalor and
disease Want poverty was the key to social problem which affected everyone.
However in 1946 the National Insurance Act was introduced in order to provide
comprehensive insurance. It provided unemployment benefits, retirement pension
and widow, maternity benefits. Ignorance this was introduced to provide free
education for children up to the age of 15. Idleness It was introduced to maintain
high levels of employment after war. William Beveridge understood that poverty
and unemployment were linked to a lack of information which hindered people in
finding work. Squalor this was a system of dropping slum areas and overcrowding
areas during war. The government aimed to build 200,000 houses a year New
Towns Act (1946). Disease the NHS was announced for British citizens to get
medical, dental and optical services for free. Nevertheless the
Anticipatory Grief
Empirical referents are cases or categories of actual observable phenomena that are
measurable (Walker Avant, 1995). The empirical referents of anticipatory grief were
determined from the refining of the characteristics of it through reviewing model and
additional cases above. The empirical referents of anticipatory griefare: i) having
perception and acknowledgement, ii) the timing is prior to their own or others loss
or death, iii) having grief symptom clusters, and iv) its intensity depending on grief
work or the closeness to the person or the thing.
Antecedents
Anticipatory grief is the results of several factors. These risk factors and causes are
the antecedents of anticipatory grief. There are five antecedents of anticipatory grief:

There are several distinct meanings of anticipatory grief based on the four resources
from non nursing disciplines in the following explication.
The first study is one psychology professor s autobiographical case (Comerchero,
2014). The timing of anticipatory grief can even be after the loss from a different
view in this study. The author argued that anticipatory grief can occur while
currently experiencing the death of her loved one, which is distinguished from the
definition of anticipatory grief in nursing discipline. Even after the loss, individuals
coping process can be present in anticipatory grief based on the model of Elisabeth
KГјbler Ross (1969). The second study described the distinct pattern of experiencing
anticipatory grief associated with substance use (Templeton et al., 2016). Some
people questioned their grief because they felt that they do not have the right to
grieve and tend to devalue these deaths. The lack of knowledge and understanding
about substance use and stigma can provide families with different perceptions
towards anticipatory grief. The family expressed denial towards grief and addressed
that they do not need to feel grief. This denial and not having grief are distinct
properties compared to one of the attributes of anticipatory grief in nursing
Density Investigation
5861
Are these Objects Made of the Same Material?
Every substance has its own unique density due to all of the atoms mass, size, and
arrangement being different for each atom. Density is the relationship between two
characteristics of matter which are mass and the occupied space. Density is a
characteristic property, meaning the density of a substance will stay the same. In an
investigation the objects densities would be calculated to determine whether the
objects are made of the same material. The objects are all different colors, sizes,
textures and shapes. In order to find density, the mass and volume would need to be
calculated.
In order to calculate the density of an object two things must be calculated the mass
and volume of the object. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The blue object has a density of 1.19g/cm3, while the black object has a density of
1.41g/cm3, and the clear object has a density of 1.04g/cm3. Although the density
difference is in the tenths it still is a difference in the densities. For example, the
difference in the density of neon versus sodium is 0.03 which is a small difference
and because of the different densities the two substances are completely different. The
measurement of the volume in mL could have been better if the 10mL graduated
cylinder was used in place of the 50 mL. The calipers and graduated cylinder only
measures to the tenths which does not give as precise measurements as the balance.
The human error causes the non identical cm3 to mL measurement of the same
objects causing a slight difference in the densities of the same object. When
comparing my data to another group doing the same experiment I found a possible
miscalculation of volume in mL for the clear object in my own experiment. Aside
from the possible miscalculation, the volume measured in the other group was to the
ones place of a number while our group measured to the tenths place. Since the top
loader balance the other group used was different, the masses were also different in
the hundredths. They also stated that the objects are made of the same material which
according to their data is not
Benefits Of Comcast Cable And Nbcuniversal
Comcast had an exceptional year in 2016. Stock prices reached an all time high,
while revenue, assets, and operating cash flow toppled analysts projections. The
global media and technology company has two primary businesses: Comcast Cable
and NBCUniversal. These two businesses make up the five reportable business
segments which are: cable communications, cable networks, broadcast television,
filmed entertainment, and theme parks. Below is the revenue, operating income

segment. For 2016, cable communications represent the greatest proportion of each

Furthermore, this acquisition explains the currency translation adjustment made in
the theme parks segment during 2015 and 2016 to represent current United States
dollars. Additionally, another enormous acquisition was in the filmed
entertainment segment in 2016. Comcast acquired DreamWorks Animation for
$3.8 billion, of which $2.7 bilion was recognized in 2016 (Stelter, 2016). With this
acquisition, NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burker said Dreamworks will help us grow
our film, television, theme parks and consumer products businesses for years to
come (Stelter, 2016). Consequently, the entrance into the filmed entertainment and
theme parks segment explains the decrease in gross profit percentage from 2014
to 2016 along these business segments. Moreover, Comcast closed a multi year
movie distribution deal with Alibaba to tap into the Chinese Market, which
Furious 7 and Jurassic World made almost $630 million in the box office (Krause,
2015). This deal was a move towards distribution of their filmed entertainment
segment outside of the United States. Moving forward, cable networks increased
$232 million, which is in part to the reclassifications of certain operations and
businesses from corporate and other to this segment. Be on the lookout for
NBCUniversal s new $3.3 billion park in Beijing set to open in 2019 (Hertzler, 2014).
In conclusion, Comcast s goodwill is $35,980 million along all lines of
Ficer Corps And The Noncommissioned Officer
Abstract The officer corps and the noncommissioned officer corps in the Army go all
the back to before the founding fathers formed the country. Both of these corps have
adapted and changed according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The
success of the Army is dependent on the ability of officers and noncommissioned
officers to work together. Training, education and mentorship lead to officers and
noncommissioned officerserving as the cornerstone of the Army. Establishing roles
and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non
commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non
commissioned officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously
updated regulations, field manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever
changing operational environment the Army operates in. Army Doctrine Publication
(ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine Reference Publication (ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish
the roles of the officer and the non commissioned officer. Additional Army doctrine
provides for other miscellaneous tasks or responsibilities that officers and non
commissioned officers either share or work together to accomplish. A simple
example is Training Circular (TC) 3 21, Drill and Ceremony. The non
commissioned officer has the bulk of the responsibility to conduct but the officer
does have a role as the commander of troops. Although Drill and Ceremony not does

Summary Of Oration On The Dignity Of Man
1a. Giovanni Pico della Mirandola says that human beings are free to become
whatever or whomever they may choose to be. In his work, Oration on the Dignity
of Man, Mirandola discusses how as a human being you have no limit or no bound
and may choose for yourself the limits and bounds of your nature He believes that
God created humans with no fixed position in life and that the choices they make
during their journey will define whether they fall into high or low positions on the
chain of life.
1b. Pico believes that human beings are free because they have the ability to choose
their own paths. In Oration on the Dignity of Man, he states that we should not
make that freedom of choice God gave us into something harmful, for it was
intended to be to our advantage. Representing that God created us as free beings in
having the freedom to choose. Later on in his work, he declares, Let a holy ambition
enter into our souls; let us not be content with mediocrity, but rather strive after the
highest and expend all our strength in achieving it. He regarded the most noble goal,
the goal to reach the highest position, in union to god. To choose to be next to God
was the greatest achievement.
1c. The ancient philosopher that was the most influential in Pico s beliefs was Plato.
His influence guided him away from the focus on civic life that had been such a
feature of earlier humanist thought and lead him to the belief than man could aspire
to union with God through the
Auster Narrative Style
American writer and director Paul Auster uses different literary devices and narrative
styles to create a new form of crime fiction, that links the traditional genre
characteristics with experimental metafiction and postmodern irony. In the New York
Trilogy novels published sequentially as City of Glass (1985), Ghosts (1986) and The
Locked Room (1986), Auster uses a number of different narrative styles including
pastiche, parody and intertextuality to mix postmodernism with crime fiction.
Previously, the most important aspect in a detective story according to Encyclopedia
Britannica has been: solving the crime and answering the whodunitquestion (
Detective Story ). For that reason, most literature on criminal fiction has focused...

According to literary criticist William G. Little: While the goal of detection is to
uncover the whole story, in Auster s work, nothing, especially not nothing, is grasped
in its all. No case is closed...his calculations and representations lead to no final
illumination, no climatic discovery. (p. 133). It is clear, that the postmodern detective
fiction has a different purpose than just answering all the questions and restore
order. At the beginning of City of Glass the narrator describes that detective Quinn
s knowledge regarding crime in general, is very average: Like most people, Quinn
knew almost nothing about crime. He had never murdered anyone, had never
stolen anything, and he did not know anyone who had. He had never been inside a
police station, had never met a private detective, had never spoken to a criminal.
Whatever he knew about these things, he had learned from books, films, and
newspapers. (p. 7). Therefore, Quinn as the writer of crime novels does not have
any actual information about real crime and his stories are not real, but the kind that
parodies the genre on which he lacks experience. On the use of parody M. H.
Abrams says: it imitates the serious manner and characteristic features of a particular
literary work, or the distinctive style of
How Does Exponential Growth Grow
Exponential Growth/Decay and how to use it
Exponential growth is growth whose rate becomes ever more rapid in proportion
to the growing total number or size. Exponential growth has three parts the initial
value, the rate of change, and the number of years(y=a(1+or 1 r)t) When Y is what
you get when you plug in your numbers, a is your initial value, and r is your rate of
change and if it is a change where the Y value gets smaller then it is exponential
decay and that is minus one t o the rate of change but if it is exponential growth then
you add one to the rate of change, then there is t which is your number of years
which should be an exponent to r.
My word problem was, The population of Luck, Wisconsin in 2015 was 527 and is
growing by an annual rate of 1.90%. The equation was Y=527(1.19) raised to the
power of t. You start by making a table of your t values and your y values and you
choose what ever numbers you want in order for your t values and whatever that
number is you plug it into your equation to find your y value then you put that into
the table. My table looked like this.

Exponential growth and decay are modeled in many real world processes. Populations
of people, and a growing population of anything, can be modeled as a function
showing exponential growth. The growth of a savings account collecting compound
interest is another example of an exponential growth function. But in conclusion
Exponential growth is a mathematical change that increases without limit based on an
exponential function. The change can be in the positive or negative direction. The
important concept is that the rate of change continues to
Globalization Means Underaken Entirely
1. Defining Globalization:
The term Globalization in origin came from the word global . In different languages
there are different meanings for the word global. Meydan Larousse defined the term
global as undertaken entirely and this meaning was attributed to the word global by
western languages. In French this term means homogeneity . Henceforth the word
means both entirety and homogeneity . Here are various ideas on the first usage of
the word globalization with its modern meaning.
An American Defense Institute states globalization as fast and continuous inter
border flow of goods, services, capital (or money), technology, ideas, information,
cultures and nations .
According to the Institute, through globalization is a unique combination among
economies is happening, an evidence modification is being experienced, and
governance, markets, corporations and organizations are becoming more
international. The term globalization covers many concepts and cannot be assessed
uniquely as either economic, political process or worldwide spanning of capital or
production flows. Hence, the word globalization is given various meanings by
different people, but can be interpreted differently due to various dimensions based on
the terms such as time and location. The term globalization has a wide complex and
challenging effects that are mainly analyzed with its economic dimension taking
cultural, social, political and historical facets as some references (Atkearney, 2007).

Temperature Of A Frog Lab Report
Effects of Temperature on a Frog
INTRODUCTION:
Amphibians are cold blooded animals that adapt to the surrounding temperatures.
Frogs are one kind of amphibian. Frogs are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals are
more active in warmer temperatures and stagnant when it is cold. A frogs system is
always moving, but depending on the temperature it is exposed to, its breaths aren t
always clearly visible or at a constant rate. A frog s skin is able to take in oxygen in
exchange for carbon dioxide, so all of a frog s breathing isn t done through its
lungs. Water is a compound made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.
Molecules in warmer water move around at a faster speed than molecules in colder
water. The problem to be solved is what the effect of different water temperatures
have on a frog s breathing rate.
HYPOTHESIS:
If a frog is put in 30в„ѓ water, then the frog will have a higher breathing rate than the
control frog.

The data from the chart and graph show a drop in the number of breaths when the
temperature drops. The frog had an average breathing rate of 104 breaths per minute
when it was put in the highest temperature tested (30в„ѓ). Once the frog was placed
in 10в„ѓ, it had an average breathing rate of zero breaths per minute. The frog took
more breaths in the warm water. Since the frog is cold blooded, its body
temperature changes depending on the environment. Because molecules move
quickly in warmer water, the frog s respiratory system circulates faster. Molecules
moving slower in colder water do not allow the frog to take in as much oxygen as
often. Therefore, a warmer temperature makes a frog s breathing rate per minute
increase while a colder temperature makes it
Phantom Limb Pain Research Paper
Phantom Limb Pain: Characteristics, Mechanisms, Treatments
Phantom limb pain is the onset of pain following amputation of a limb. Stump pain
and phantom sensations are also common versions of this phenomenon. Phantom
limb sensation includes any type of feeling besides pain where a body part is absent
and stump pain is specifically located in the stump. All amputees experience some
type of phantom feeling, but for some with severe pain it can be very difficult to
treat. The first person to describe this phenomenon was Ambroise Pare in 1552 and
the first person to coin the term phantom limb pain was Silas Weir Mitchell in 1871.
Since then there have been different studies of animals and scientists have discovered

amputation become overcome reorganization in the somatosensory and motor cortex

stimulation of neurons. The awareness of our self and illusory perceptions might be
related to PLP. Because mirror therapy has shown to be beneficial in the treatment of
PLP, it shows that cortical deafferentation plays a key role in phantom generation.
The mirroring and stretching movements of opposite extremity can compensate for

The Process In A Criminal Trial
Criminal Trial Process
Criminal Trial Process There are many distinct parts to the process in a criminal
trial. Some parts of these trials happen within every single trial while others can be
hit or miss and do not happen all of the time. Regardless, the defendant in each trial
either gets off on some or all charges or is convicted on one or more charges.
Regardless, there is an orderly process behind what might or might not happen.
The Process Before the trial even starts, there are several things that have already
happened. The first is the arrest of the charged person. The person is arrested by police
, or he/she turns himself/herself in, based on one or more charges that have been
brought against the person. The person must then make an initial appearance
before a judge. The person must be arraigned in a timely fashion and the defendant
must then enter a plea at that hearing. If the defendant pleads guilty, there is no
need for a criminal trial as the person is admitting that they are guilty (Nolo, 2012).
If, however, the person pleads not guilty to one or more charges, the trial process
will start. At any point in the process, whether it be before the trial or during it, a
deal can be cut between the prosecutor s team and the defendant. This is often done
to avoid a lengthy and expensive trial and the defendant often gets some form of
lenciency if they do plead guilty. Leniency can come in the form of less time overall,
probation instead of actual prison time,
What Are The Four Elements Of Atmosphere
This essay will discuss the four elements of atmosphere that are used to reach out to
customers. Those elements are the following: exterior, general interior, store layout,
and displays. The combined used of these elements create a unique image that
customers can identify with the store s image and lends to what is known as visual
merchandising.
The first element that contributes to a customer s perception of a store based firm is
the exterior. Planning of the exterior, has to include the store s exterior attributes
which includes the storefront, store entrances, display windows, building height,
visibility, surrounding areas and stores and parking facilities. Depending on the
image that the store wishes to be perceived as these attributes have to portray
uniqueness. According to Berman and Evans, a storefront is defined as the total
physical exterior of the store itself. It includes the marquee, ... Show more content on

Decisions of flooring, interior color palettes, scents and sounds, store fixtures, aisle
widths, light fixtures, overall cleanliness of the store, price displays, and dressing
facilities all help to create a mood within customers and to add to the atmosphere of
the store. A store needs to know what mood it is trying to convey when all of these
elements come together.
The third element that contributes to a customer s perception of a store based
firm is the store layout. There are six steps that need to be considered when
planning the store s layout. These steps are the following: allocation of store space,
classification or store offerings, determination of a traffic flow pattern, mapping our
in store locations, and arrangement of individual products. The purpose of a store s
layout is to make shopping as efficient as possible. Customers should find what they
are looking for easily while also being persuaded to buy a few impulse items along the

England for work in warmer climes, possibly due to health issues which persisted
throughout his life. In December 1852 he joined the Ceylonese (now Sri Lankan)

Conventional elements of sexualitiy in Carol are complicated further by the power
dynamics between Carol and Therese expressed through cinematographic
elements. While Carol is wiser and more experienced than Therese and is often
framed with low angle shots making her appear large, confident, and strong. The
complexity of Carol s character is further explored as she simultaneously appears
as having power over Therese but is also the subject of Therese s objectifying gaze.
Therese, who is often captured through high angle shots giving viewers a sense of
looking down on her, possess a gaze which often frames Carol seductively as she
photographs and stares at Carol flaunting her feminine glamour and sexuality. Just
as the scene in which they first met, Therese is often obscured, hidden behind the
lense of her camera, and Carol is the subject of awe, attention, and desire. In the
dark, Therese stares at Carol under her red covers as she sleeps. Through parts of her

Policymakers have a range of tools to use in conflict...
Policymakers have a range of tools to use in conflict resolution and post conflict
reconstruction. While varied in breath and effect, the political, economic, and
military tools policy makers use ties to traditional methods of conflict resolution.
However, as conflicts have evolved to occupy the larger and more public stages
following globalization, so have the tools. Globalization not only increased stateto
state awareness of inequalities in wealth and resources, but also within states;
increasing tension along ethnic and tribal lines. (Bercovitch and Jackson, 5) The
political, economic, and militarytools used in conflict resolution and post conflict
reconstruction present a deeply interconnected method of reshaping a war torn...

Economic measures seek to establish long term macroeconomic policies and
sustainable community development by providing humanitarian relief, essential
social services, and communication. Military measures seek to demilitarize politics
and transform cultures of violence through disarmament, demobilization, establishing
law and order, and rebuilding military and police forces. Ramsbotham also identifies a
fourth tenant not mentioned in the paper s question but equally important, social
measures. Social measures seek to heal psychological wounds and facilitate
reconciliation by building trust and inter communal dialog. Together these lines of
effort replace lost essential infrastructure, rebuild manufacturing capability to support
the population, and construct the framework for a state to thrive. (Week 3 Lecture,
3) Yet despite the different goals in each of the categories, they are far from
disconnected in practice. Political, economic, and military tools are as intertwined as
their counterparts in a Realists Balance of Power system. In The Balance of Power in
International Relations, Richard Little describes power as a function of the size of the
population and territory, resource endowment, economic capability, military strength,
political stability and competence. (Little, 174) Stronger nations tend to show stronger
The Psychological Effects Of Dietary Zinc Deficiency In...
Zinc deficiency in humans was first described by Ananda Prasad in the early 1960s
(Prasad et al., 1961, 1963). Patients with zinc deficiency besides having stunted
growth and being immune compromised, exhibit mental lethargy. Indeed, there is a
relationship between dietary zinc deficiency and the induction of depressive
symptoms (Amani R, 2010;137:150 158). Several studies have now have now
confirmed the relationship between depression and the disruption of serum zinclevels
(Nowak G. 1999 67(1):85 92, Siwek M. 2010 126(3):447 52, Can you add another

depression reverse the behavioral changes induced by ZnD indicating the feasibility
of ZnD animal models in the study of depression.
4.1 Zinc deficiency diet and zinc transporters
The list of psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders for which changes have
been observed in zinc transporters is steadily growing and includes schizophrenia,
Parkinson, and Alzheimer diseases as well as depression (Fukada T. 2016 S0003
9861(16)30207 7, Whitfield 2015 DR 23, RafaЕ‚o UliЕ„ska 2016). We found
statistically significant decreases in ZnT1 and ZnT3 mRNA were observed in the
PFC albeit with a trend towards decreased protein levels in ZnD rats. (Fig.....It will
really make sense if the figures are included because I can t really make out which
figure you are referring to here and if this is RNA or protein you are talking
about). Unlike in the PFC, ZnT1 protein level was significantly increased in the Hp
with other zinc transporter protein levels remaining unchanged in ZnD rats. It is
noteworthy to mention that mRNAs of all the ZnTs were significantly increased
(Fig..) in the ZnD rats with no changes in either in mRNA or protein levels in rats
treated with AMI. These effects are quite different from those observed in our earlier
studies which showed decreases in ZnT1, ZnT3 and ZnT4 mRNAs in the Hp of
Sham (control) rats (Rafalo et al., 2017). One difference though
Mir-193a-5p Essay
In this article, we aimed to research the diagnostic value of peripheral blood and
tissue miR 193a 5p. And we also tend to illuminate the underlying molecular
modulatory mechanism of miR 193a 5p in lung cancer. Hereby, we comprehensively
retrieve the eligible microarrays and performed meta analysis to explore the clinical
diagnostic significance. Then we adopted bioinformatics analysis to lucubrate the
potential molecular mechanism. We collected predicted and validated target genes
of miR 193a 5p and further acquired the overlapping genes. GO, KEGG and PPI
network analysis were further performed for the overlapping genes. We hope what we
obtained might offer references for future researches.

Therefore, it is worthy to notice such special expression difference of miR 193a 5p
in lung cancer. The reasons causing such inverse peripheral blood and tissue miR
193a 5p expression remain unclear yet. It still needs additional larger samples
studies to validate and provide exact explanation. Still, peripheral blood and tissue
miR 193a 5p could provide a certain reference value for clinical lung cancer
diagnosis.
Since miR 193a 5p exerts its regulative functions through specifically targeting certain
target genes, we here collected the possible targets of miR 193a 5p and further
uncover the underlying regulatory pathways. We found that the top enriched items in
BP, CC and MF were regulation of neuron apoptosis; organelle outer membrane and
tubulin tyrosine ligase activity, respectively. Mitochondria is the basic and important
organelle in most of the eukaryocyte. Mitochondria outer membrane permeabilization
has been reported to be involved in cancer and be a promising therapeutic target. [26
27] Thereby, miR 193a 5p might be also involved in lung cancer through similar
approach. Recently, Tubulin tyrosine ligase widespread loss has been found during
the tumor growth, which suggests tubulin tyrosine ligase activity may be involved in
the regulation of tumor cells [28]. As a result, tubulin tyrosine ligase activity might
be related miR 193a 5p, which might exert effects in lung cancer. Nevertheless, more
studies are needed in the future. In KEGG

Extraordinary constructions of monuments seem to have been the staple for the
ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilization yet their purposes proved somewhat
different. For the Sumerian civilization, the construction of the ancient monuments
served a multiple purpose as social, economic and religious centers and in the latter
half of the third millennium B.C.E. the Ur based civilization focused on building
schemes for their administrative, economic and agricultural benefits. In contrast, the
Egyptian civilization during the peak of the Fourth Dynasty s power during the
reign of the first three rulers of the dynasty: Cheops, Khufu and Menkuare] focused
on building projects aimed at edifying the political and religious power of the
civilization (Wake 29). Indeed, one needs only consider the fact that while the
pyramids of Egypt served as funereal complexes for their rulers the ziggurats of
ancient Mesopotamia served as cultural museums and offices for their people.
The period between 2112 B.C.E. and 2004 B.C.E. were the peak in Sumerian
civilization s development and were stereotyped by the construction of public
monuments such as the sanctuary complex for Nanna between 2112 B.C.E. and 2047
B.C.E. While historians note that the monument edified Ur Nammu, the dynastic
patriarch of the Ur based civilization, the monument served as a palatial complex,

The Success of the New Deal in Solving the Problems Caused by the Great
Depression
Introduction In the late 1920 s and early 1930 s the whole of America was in a deep
depression and was in desperate need of help. When Franklin D Roosevelt was
elected president of USA he came up with the plan of the new deal this was a planned
guideline to regenerate money and the high standards of living the Americans once
had not so long ago. He introduced 5 major organisations to restructure the
American way of life they were now facing; these were the F.E.R.A, C.C.C, A.A.A,
T.V.A and the N.R.A. In this essay I am going to study if the new deal was
successful up to 1941.

He asked Congress to create a corporation clothed with the power of government but
possessed of the flexibility and initiative of a private enterprise. On May 18, 1933,
Congress passed the TVA act. Right from the start, TVA established a unique problem
solving approach to fulfilling its mission integrated resource management. Each issue
TVA faced whether it was power production, navigation, flood control, malaria
prevention, reforestation, or erosion control was studied in its broadest context.
The N.R.A was an act called for industrial self regulation and declared that codes of
fair competition for the protection of consumers, competitors, and employers were to
be drafted for the various industries of the country and were to be subject to public
hearings. The administration was empowered to make voluntary agreements dealing
with hours of work, rates of pay, and the fixing of prices.
The AAA paid farmers not to grow crops and not to produce dairy produce such as
milk and butter. It also paid them not to raise pigs and lambs. The money to pay
the farmers for cutting back production of about 30% was raised by a tax on
companies that bought the farm products and processed them into food and clothing.
The AAA also became involved in trying to help farmers destroyed by the creation of
the dust bowl in 1934.

The War Of The Persian Wars Essay
We had many revolutionary wars that shaped our world into becoming what it is
today. The Persian Wars were one of those unforgettable events that inspired not
only our military structure but government as well. The Persian Wars lasted for
almost half a decade from 498 BCE to 448 BCE between the Persian Empire, of
course, and Greek poleis. The war was centered around expanding the Empire of
Persia as it claimed and took over land within battle and then ruling it as one while
making a profit from it. Most of what we know about the Persian wars was written
by Herodotus, who was born 484 BCE and gives us our primary source of what
really took place during that time. The Persian Empire was the most powerful and
aggressive power in the eastern Mediterranean at the time. (Many Europes; pg 51).
Before expanding the land, The Persian Empire had land that expanded west of
Asia and included Egypt. With the defeat of the Assyrians Empire around 550 BCE
with the leadership of King Cyrus, this gave them the name of the Persian Empire.
That s when the Empire began to expand its land and power with overtaking many
different city sates, like Lydians, Mesopotamians, and Babylonians, and
incorporating them into the Persian Empire. It wasn t until King Darius, who ruled
from 521 BCE to 485 BCE, started to rule that the invasions were directed to the
Greece. Now many of the Greeks thought that the Persian Empire was different and
that was for a good reason. Not only did the empire have a
Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Four Wheel Steering
System
2.1 Vehicle Dynamic Expressions
2.1.1 Ackerman Steering Mechanism
Ackerman system was developed by a German Engineer named Lankensperger in
1817. Rudolf Ackerman was the lawyer who secured the patent, hence the name
Ackerman. In Ackerman system the inner wheel turns more than the outer wheel to
effectively steer the vehicle without any slip. With perfect Ackermann steering, at any
angle of steering, the center point of all the circles traced by all four wheels should
be a common point. Modern cars do not use complete Ackermann steering because it
ignores the important dynamic and compliant effects.

Rear wheel steering was also tried and developed but due to the tendency of the
vehicle to move sideways from rear lead to its failure. Four wheel steering on the
other hand is still under development. From 1987 when Honda developed first four
wheel steering, it was accepted and widely used but due to skeptical tendency and
behavior of customers it was not widely accepted, despite of being a great steering
system. From 2010, BMW, Porsche and Honda are developing this steering system
purely for getting better handling with the premium cars they offer, this has yet again
reinvented interest in four wheel steering in automobile makers.
2.3 Theory and Facts about Four Wheel Steering System
This section will discuss about the choices we made in developing this steering
system and the theory behind it, for selecting a specific system or mechanism. It
will also help reader to get a better understanding of why a system was selected or
made. As the name suggest two vs four, we can have an idea that the traction
provided by four wheels will always be greater than the traction provided by two
wheels during giving direction to car.
The whole idea was to improve, enhance safety and comfort with developing this four

The Trial Of Galileo And The Catholic Church
In the Trial of Galileo, The Roman Catholic church is the largest christian church in
the Western civilization .The moral aspect concerns salvation. The Catholic Church
was directed by the Holy Scripture by the Church Fathers, which provided the means
of eternal salvation: those don t renounce the Catholic Churchof Catholicism place
their souls in peril. Protestantism was an enemy Galileo had encountered but it
derives the Catholic Church of converts because it deprives people from the true
ideal of salvation amongst early catholic people. But in some situations got difficult
for Galileo to handle more than one role played. The Galileo case for many anti
catholics, is to be proven that church abhors science, refuse to abandon outdated
teachings. The Church was not anti scientific but it supported scientific endeavors for
centuries. The Jesuits were a respected group of astronomers and scientist in Rome
during Galileo s time. Individuals and church officials and from the church, were
many notable scientist who received fundings. During this time period Church
funding from many scientific advances were contributed by clerics. Therefore if
Galileo had not been prosecuted with the political controversy of the Catholic
Church, he would have lived a longer life contributing more towards his theories and
inventions as a scientist than his religious obedience.
The Catholic Church teaches the most important that is the one true church founded
by Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church
Literary Analysis Of John O Connor sFirst Confession
Will there ever be an object or idea that can reverse a mistake ? As humans have
evolved, there have been different notions created on the consequences of doing
certain activities or actions. While the preceding is important to take into mind,
does it always have to be so serious? Any individual who grows up does either
childish actions or just simple mistakes. O Connor shows how the formality of this
can be taken to an extreme point with the story of Jackie. In First Confessionhe
creates a humorous tone with the utilization of figurative language and
characterization. To begin with, First Confession holds a strong message, but it holds
it with a touch of humor. With this story being told from a reflective point of view,
it really shows the comical sides of the story. Most of us have those stories that as
we reflect on them now, can be very funny; the same was for Jackie. Jackie wrote
about his first confession, which was probably from a few years back and now he
highlights the funny parts of them. For example, the rivalry between Nora, his sister,
and him. A rivalry which then seemed very serious for Jackie, was not that serious in
reality. As well, his grandmother s arrival was so bad for him then that he even
plotted her murder. The humorous side of this story is reflected mainly in his
conversation with the priest. The priest tells him, Between ourselves, there s a lot of
people I d like to do the same to, but I d never have the nerve. By breaking this line of

Sarasota Real Estate Analysis
While most qualified homebuyers with a ready down payment and good credit
history are more than welcome by any Sarasota real estate agent, a real estate
investor is seen as a pain. In fact, most Sarasota real estate agents consider real estate
investors a complete headache when it comes to purchasing any property.
There are two main reasons for this...
First of all, like any businessperson, a real estate agent likes making a quick and
hassle free profit. Secondly, many real estate agents do not have the experience,
expertise, or willingness to handle the creative deals that real estate investors need.
Nevertheless, real estate investors have no choice but to use an agent because that is

3. Offer the offer yourself. Sometimes real estate investors can come up with very
creative offers. Try persuading the real estate agent to allow you to present the
offer directly to the seller (with the agent present of course). You want the seller to
hear the offer directly from you, as no one else can match your precision and
passion in presenting the offer. It will also allow the seller to address any questions
directly to you, instead of going through the real estate agent as a middleman.
As a real estate investor you may come across many uncooperative real estate agents.
A number of Sarasota real estate agents would prefer not to work with real estate
investors because it requires more work than simply writing up a contract and
handing over the keys. Don t get discouraged though...there are also many Sarasota
real estate agents who enjoy working with real estate investors...especially those that
follow the tips above.

One of the reasons is that Chinese IPO markets are known to be extremely underpriced and as a result China ranks first among 45 countries with respect to IPO underpricing. Guo et al. • 7. The Impact Of Media On Technology On Our Lives Essay Often, we take for granted the significance of media within our lives. Experimenting without media usage for a day, I was amazed at the change in my thought and behavior. Personal experiences and examples provide proof of new ideas and present theories, discussed and developed within the essay. Presenting a balance to the subject, there is an analysis to both the positivity and negativity behind abandoning media. Within the essay, the reader is able to attain a college point of view, illustrating the role mass mediaplays while in class, working on homework, eating with friends, or playing a sport. Ultimately, the essay enhances the importance of our dependency on technology and our path to robotic communication. A Response to Media Fasting Completing the media fast assignment was one of the most difficult, frustrating, and engaging tasks that I have ever participated in. After two failed attempts of living without my iphone for twenty four hours, I was forced to lock my phone up, physically detaching myself from it. Although my failed attempts occurred because of unconsciously responding to a text or checking the time, close observation of my habitual phone patterns proved to be truly remarkable. Media, as a whole, occupies a huge part of our lives, keeping us connected and up to date with the latest news, trends, and advertisements. Subtracting media out of my life for a day actually made me feel unconnected from others, which I never would imagine to occur.

Ethical Hacking And Information Security Essay Ethical Hacking and Information Security Merriam Webster defines Hacker as, a person who secretly gets access to a computer system in order to get information, cause damage. But what if I told you that having a hacker is necessary? Ethical Hacking is paramount to the security of our Information Technologies (IT). The task of testing your computers and network for security vulnerabilities and plugging the vulnerabilities you find before the opposition gets a chance to exploit them. Without having the ability to do what devious personnel can do inside your IT, you will never fully understand the holes in your security. It all began in the 1960s at MIT, origin of the term hacker , but the science dates back to 1903 to the first ever documented hacking of an electronic device. In 1932, Marian Rejewski hacked the German Enigma Machine. The Enigma machine was an electromechanical device, equipped with a 26 letter keyboard and 26 lamps, relating to the letters of the alphabet. Inside was a set of wired drums (rotors and a reflector) that jumbled the input. The Enigma used a plug board to swap pairs of letters, and the encryption varied from one key press to the next. For two operators to communicate, both Enigma machines had to be set up in the same way. The large number of possibilities for setting the rotors and the plug board combined to form an exponential number of configurations, and the settings were changed daily, so the machine code had to be broken each day. The Blues, a type of jazz, also follows this similar style. Langston Hughes poem, The Weary Blues, is no exception. The sound qualities that make up Hughes work are intricate, yet quite apparent. Hughes use of consonance, assonance, onomatopoeia, and rhyme in The Weary Bluesgives the poem a deep feeling of sorrow while, at the same time, allows the reader to feel as if he or she is actually listening to the blues sung by the poem s character. Another place that consonance is apparent is in line 5, ?pale, dull pallor of an old gas light. The sticky l sounds are difficult to produce off of the tongue quickly; therefore, these words slow the poem down. This is typical of the blues. The slow sounds of blues music are incorporated in the words of this poem. It seems as if the words with the l sounds get extra emphasis, as well, because they are so difficult to pronounce. Added strength through word sounds helps boost the poem s glumness. Line 10 is another excellent example of consonance in The Weary Blues. The m and p sounds of He made that poor piano moan with melody give the poem a juxtaposition of warm sounds from the m to aggressive tones with the sharp p. This is a nice element as it is characteristic of blues music, as well. Usually there are some elements of comfort and disdain within the blues. The contrast of the m and p sounds highlights this very well. There is a great amount of assonance in The Weary Blues. The first example of assonance comes right away in the poem. Line 1 opens with the long o sound in Droning a drowsy syncopated tune and continues with Rocking back and forth to a mellow croon in line 2. This long o sound is representative of the forlorn blues aforementioned. The long o is repeated throughout the poem, for example in line 10 with

He made the very first modern chemistry text named Trait eacute; el eacute;mentaire de chimie (Elements of Chemistry). Many consider it the first textbook on modern chemistry. Second, once Portia commits suicide, this eases Brutus motivation for betrayal because of his wife s death. For example, the difference in the density of neon versus sodium is 0.03 which is a small difference and because of the different densities the two substances are completely different. Auster Narrative Style American writer and director Paul Auster uses different literary devices and narrative styles to create a new form of crime fiction, that links the traditional genre characteristics with experimental metafiction and postmodern irony. In the New York Trilogy novels published sequentially as City of Glass (1985), Ghosts (1986) and The Locked Room (1986), Auster uses a number of different narrative styles including pastiche, parody and intertextuality to mix postmodernism with crime fiction. It is clear, that the postmodern detective fiction has a different purpose than just answering all the questions and restore order. At the beginning of City of Glass the narrator describes that detective Quinn s knowledge regarding crime in general, is very average: Like most people, Quinn knew almost nothing about crime. He had never murdered anyone, had never stolen anything, and he did not know anyone who had. He had never been inside a police station, had never met a private detective, had never spoken to a criminal. Whatever he knew about these things, he had learned from books, films, and newspapers. Exponential growth has three parts the initial value, the rate of change, and the number of years(y=a(1+or 1 r)t) When Y is what you get when you plug in your numbers, a is your initial value, and r is your rate of change and if it is a change where the Y value gets smaller then it is exponential decay and that is minus one t o the rate of change but if it is exponential growth then you add one to the rate of change, then there is t which is your number of years which should be an exponent to r. In different languages there are different meanings for the word global. Meydan Larousse defined the term global as undertaken entirely and this meaning was attributed to the word global by western languages. In French this term means homogeneity . Henceforth the word means both entirety and homogeneity . Here are various ideas on the first usage of the word globalization with its modern meaning. An American Defense Institute states globalization as fast and continuous inter border flow of goods, services, capital (or money), technology, ideas, information, cultures and nations . According to the Institute, through globalization is a unique combination among economies is happening, an evidence modification is being experienced, and governance, markets, corporations and organizations are becoming more international. The term globalization covers many concepts and cannot be assessed uniquely as either economic, political process or worldwide spanning of capital or production flows. Hence, the word globalization is given various meanings by different people, but can be interpreted differently due to various dimensions based on the terms such as time and location. The term globalization has a wide complex and challenging effects that are mainly analyzed with its economic dimension taking cultural, social, political and historical facets as some references (Atkearney, 2007). 2.
  • 31. Temperature Of A Frog Lab Report Effects of Temperature on a Frog INTRODUCTION: Amphibians are cold blooded animals that adapt to the surrounding temperatures. Frogs are one kind of amphibian. Frogs are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals are more active in warmer temperatures and stagnant when it is cold. A frogs system is always moving, but depending on the temperature it is exposed to, its breaths aren t always clearly visible or at a constant rate. A frog s skin is able to take in oxygen in exchange for carbon dioxide, so all of a frog s breathing isn t done through its lungs. Water is a compound made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Molecules in warmer water move around at a faster speed than molecules in colder water. The problem to be solved is what the effect of different water temperatures have on a frog s breathing rate. HYPOTHESIS: If a frog is put in 30в„ѓ water, then the frog will have a higher breathing rate than the control frog. MATERIALS: 400 mL Beaker (2)Frog PencilWatch/Clock IceWaterThermometer Ice Glass DishLab paperRuler EXPERIMENTAL PLAN:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The data from the chart and graph show a drop in the number of breaths when the temperature drops. The frog had an average breathing rate of 104 breaths per minute when it was put in the highest temperature tested (30в„ѓ). Once the frog was placed in 10в„ѓ, it had an average breathing rate of zero breaths per minute. The frog took more breaths in the warm water. Since the frog is cold blooded, its body temperature changes depending on the environment. Because molecules move quickly in warmer water, the frog s respiratory system circulates faster. Molecules moving slower in colder water do not allow the frog to take in as much oxygen as often. Therefore, a warmer temperature makes a frog s breathing rate per minute increase while a colder temperature makes it

  • 33. The Process In A Criminal Trial Criminal Trial Process Criminal Trial Process There are many distinct parts to the process in a criminal trial. Some parts of these trials happen within every single trial while others can be hit or miss and do not happen all of the time. Regardless, the defendant in each trial either gets off on some or all charges or is convicted on one or more charges. Regardless, there is an orderly process behind what might or might not happen. The Process Before the trial even starts, there are several things that have already happened. The first is the arrest of the charged person. The person is arrested by police , or he/she turns himself/herself in, based on one or more charges that have been brought against the person. The person must then make an initial appearance before a judge. The person must be arraigned in a timely fashion and the defendant must then enter a plea at that hearing. If the defendant pleads guilty, there is no need for a criminal trial as the person is admitting that they are guilty (Nolo, 2012). If, however, the person pleads not guilty to one or more charges, the trial process will start. At any point in the process, whether it be before the trial or during it, a deal can be cut between the prosecutor s team and the defendant. This is often done to avoid a lengthy and expensive trial and the defendant often gets some form of lenciency if they do plead guilty. Leniency can come in the form of less time overall, probation instead of actual prison time,

  • 48. The War Of The Persian Wars Essay We had many revolutionary wars that shaped our world into becoming what it is today. The Persian Wars were one of those unforgettable events that inspired not only our military structure but government as well. The Persian Wars lasted for almost half a decade from 498 BCE to 448 BCE between the Persian Empire, of course, and Greek poleis. The war was centered around expanding the Empire of Persia as it claimed and took over land within battle and then ruling it as one while making a profit from it. Most of what we know about the Persian wars was written by Herodotus, who was born 484 BCE and gives us our primary source of what really took place during that time. The Persian Empire was the most powerful and aggressive power in the eastern Mediterranean at the time. (Many Europes; pg 51). With the defeat of the Assyrians Empire around 550 BCE with the leadership of King Cyrus, this gave them the name of the Persian Empire. • 51. Literary Analysis Of John O Connor sFirst Confession Will there ever be an object or idea that can reverse a mistake ? Jackie wrote about his first confession, which was probably from a few years back and now he highlights the funny parts of them. For example, the rivalry between Nora, his sister, and him. A rivalry which then seemed very serious for Jackie, was not that serious in reality. As well, his grandmother s arrival was so bad for him then that he even plotted her murder. The humorous side of this story is reflected mainly in his conversation with the priest. The priest tells him, Between ourselves, there s a lot of people I d like to do the same to, but I d never have the nerve. By breaking this line of
