Culture, Culture And Culture Essay
Culture
Many times we hear concepts like Oriental culture , Italian culture or Gothic Culture . So we can
understand and verify that it is an important concept related to the idea of the society where we live
in. Culture, in Sociology, is a concept developed during XVIII and XIX centuries that has had
various definitions.
One exhaustive definition is in Browne (2015, p. 31):
Culture refers to the language, beliefs, values and norms, customs, dress, diet, roles, knowledge
and skills, and all the other things that people learn that make up the way of life of any society
So when we use the expression Italian culture we know that we are talking about the entire set of
believes, knowledge and the whole way of life that characterise Italian people. Something
connected to their country but that is with them wherever they go. If they are born in Italy or
within an Italian group of people they will speak Italian, they will eat traditional Italian food when
they are home, they will be probably Catholic etc.
While many concepts inside Browne definition are familiar and easy to identify like language and
diet, three of them need a proper explanation for a better understanding of them.
Values, Norms, Roles
What are values ?
The word values is often used in our daily language. When we listen to someone that is talking
about her or his values we understand that that person is talking about something that marks out
what characterize her/his own concept of what is important,

Christianity and Buddhism: Are they Synonyms?
Every coin has two sides. Similarly, every issue consists of two different aspects be it political,
social, or religious. One of the biggest controversial topics encountered by most would be that of
religion. Some people believe that their religion is the only true religion. Although, there are some
people who understand that a religion is true to the person that believes in it. These are the people
that are able to find similarities between religions. In the movie, Little Buddha, Christianity and
Buddhism are found to be very similar in their preaching regarding life after death, their way of
living life, and their history.

Buddhism was started by a Hindu prince Siddhartha Guatama, who led a very happy and content
life without any worries until he witnessed sufferings in his kingdom and decided to find a cure.
In the movie, Little Buddha, he is shown to be meditating to attain enlightenment. While
meditating, he had to fight the evil god, Mara. After reaching nirvana he started spreading peace
by teaching good morals and the right way of living life. Similarly, Jesus also spread peace in
the world by preaching the right way of living life and good ethics. While spreading his wisdom,
he had to face many difficulties and opposition from other people. In the end, he willingly
crucified in order spread the good news and reach heaven which is similar to being enlightened in
Buddhism. Therefore, the history of both religions is almost the same since both Buddha and Jesus
wanted to end suffering and to do this they had to face many

Composers Of The 1950 s-1970
During the 1950 s 1970 s many composers started experimenting film scoring by associating genres
such as jazz, funk, and rock. Composers such as Henry Mancini, Duke Ellington and Kenyon
Hopkins associated different genres of music into film scoring. Henry Mancini was an American
composer, conductor and arranger. His most notable works include the Jazzidiom theme to the Pink
Panther filmseries. Mancini also composed the film scoring for Victor Victoria and Oklahoma
Crude etc. He also recorded musicin styles ranging from big band to classical to pop. Duke
Ellington was also an American composer and Pianist and is often considered as the most
influential composer and bandleader of the big band era. Ellington composed the film scoring for

With Anatomy of a Murder he combined very rich harmonic sounds along with the use of
soloists to create a jazz soundtrack. Kenyon Hopkins was an American composer who composed
film scores in a jazz idiom. Films such as The Hustler (1961), The Fugitive kind (1960) and one
of his best works Mister Buddwing (1965). Hopkins often incorporated Latin percussion and
soulful Hammond organ in his jazz compositions for film scoring. While the experimentation of
different genres in film scoring evolved during the 1950 s 1970 s, film scoring was transformed
and modified again as synthesizers were introduced and a full orchestra/ensemble were no longer
required to record music as it could be done using a single instrument such as a synthesizer.

News Media and the Coverage of Darfur
News Media and the Coverage of Darfur Our news media is as celebrity obsessed as the rest of
the nation. And why shouldn t it be? The articles and television news coverage of celebrities is
going to sell a lot more magazines and draw in a lot more viewers than something depressing and
/or hard to understand like a genocide. Let s face it, when people come home from a long, hard
day at work, they want to be entertained, not forced to think of the bad things happening in the
world. Plus, thanks to a sub par educational system in the United States that teaches to the test
and lets important subjects such as geography and social sciences fall by the wayside, many
people don t even know where these places are that are experiencing humanitarian crises. They
can t be expected to be interested in places of which they have never heard. This, at least, is the
common perception among the media today. In 2005, the collective news media channels of this
country ran 55 times as many stories about Michael Jackson and his trial for alleged child sexual
abuse than they did regarding the genocide going on in Darfur. In fact, MTVu, which is the
university station for MTV, did a more thorough job of covering Darfur than any of the major
media outlets in the United States. Further, while the news media in other countries, most notably
the BBC in Great Britain, do a generally good job of covering important world events (proving it
can be done), the news media in the United States tends to

The Influence Of Follower Motivation
In addition, she also uses behaviorism. Most notably, punishments are provided for undesirable
behaviors. In turn, it discourages the likelihood that followers will repeat the behavior (Ben Hur

one quarter during 2013, 600 of the lowest performing employees were dismissed (Lobello, 2013).
Mayer claimed this improved the performance of employees that were not fired.
Techniques Used to Influence Follower Motivation

These behaviors can sabotage the organization s goals, resources, and effectiveness and adversely
affect the motivation, well being, and job satisfaction of followers (Sheard, Kakabadse, Kakabadse,
2013). Leaders with self destructive tendencies often not to intentionally harm the organization or
followers, but because of their thoughtlessness and insensitivity they effectively do so (Sheard,
Kakabadse, Kakabadse, 2013).
Zuckerberg is impulsive and narcissistic. For example, Zuckerberg purchased Instagram on an
impulse. In fact, the deal was set up and finalized in one weekend (Eaton, 2012). According to
Lewis (n.d.), impulsive leaders can destabilize organizations. Further, impulsive leaders may tend to
fire employees suddenly, which could create a constant fear of uncertainty among followers (Lewis,
n.d.).
Additionally, Zuckerberg was ranked the third most narcissistic CEO in the technology industry
(Jackson, 2013). Narcissism is linked to the personalized use of power (Padilla, Hogan, Kaiser,
2007). Narcissists may test their judgment, which sometimes causes them to take unnecessary
risks (Padilla, Hogan, Kaiser, 2007). Narcissism is also linked to overreach, so they tend to make
ill advised acquisitions and pay more than market value to acquire them (Padilla, Hogan, Kaiser,
2007).
Like Zuckerberg, Mayer is also a

The Short Story Of Daru s The Guest
Albert Campus is an award winning author who has received a Nobel Peace Prize for his literature.
In 1957 he wrote, L HГґte a word in the French vocabulary that has a double meaning translating to
guest and host. Although, in English, it only translates to the guest. This is the first ambiguous clue
in the story that points out Campus s beliefs and gives readers a point of observation. The Guest is
a short storyabout an Algerian born Frenchman with the occupation of teaching. He lives in a
desolate that is isolated and rarely has visitors. Whereas, one day a Corsican named Balducci
comes there on horseback because he was given government orders to deliver an Arab criminal.
Balducci then gave Daru the news that the government has also ordered Daru that he must then
deliver the Arab to jail. With this news, Daru then struggles to decide whether he should bring the
Arab to jail or set him free. It is an internal struggle that Daru and the Arab have to face between
choosing right from wrong and understanding if the two meanings matter. Campuses ambiguous
writing distinguishes that by not taking total responsibility for a choice, that itself is a choice. Daru
and the Arab both have conflicting choices that they face throughout the entire short story suggests
that whether one may want to or not there are choices underlyingly people make.
Daru is initially conflicted between having a strong opinion about following the code of law, and

Songlyrics In The Figurative Language In Literature
Figurative language in the world of literature is language that uses words or expressions with a
deep meaning that is different from the normal meaning of words and expressions. In the world of
literature many writers and poets use figurative language to grab their audience attention.
Figurative language is very common in poetry, lyrics, nonfiction writing and prose pieces. In this
particular essay I would be discussing and analyzing different songlyrics that contain figures of
speech and how effective these different figures of speech make the songs popular. In the
figurative language we have different figures of speech. A figure of speechis a word or phrase that
has different meaning than the actual meaning is a way writers used to exaggerate feelings and
emotions. There are several figures of speech such as a hyperbole, personification, metaphor,
simile and onomatopoeia. Each of these figures of speech all have different functions they play in
the world of writing. Figures of speech are not used to exaggerate language, but to also cause a
moment of excitement and intensity when reading. The majority of these figures of speech provide
the writing with a more concise and clarifications of what the author, singer, writer or poet is trying
to share with their particular audience. For instance, let s take a look at several songs that contain
figures of speech. For example in the song Mean by Taylor Swift is singing about how someone s
words could be painful and

Leland Gaunt
A new shop opens up in a small town called Castle Rock. The shopkeeper, Leland Gaunt, always
has an item in stock that fulfills the next customers dreams. The only difference between this shop
and others like it is the fact that Gaunt only asks for a small financial payment for the items in his
shop. To make up for the lost revenue, Gaunt asks the customers to play a little harmless prank on
the resident of his choosing. Chaos manifests itself throughout the town as more and more tricks are
being played. No one knows who is behind it all and only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that
Gaunt is behind the increasing violence in this small town. After reading this story and evaluating
each character s identity, I ve come to notice that I somewhat relate to the main character Leland

moods! Although I ve never actually visited the town of Castle Rock, I can paint a pretty clear
picture in my head of what it may look like. If you have ever walked down the streets on old
town Folsom, Auburn, or Roseville then you d know what I mean. I imagine rustic signs and
shelves with brick walls and a creaky wooden floor. Overall, I m not quite sure what the theme of
the story might be; but I can say that there are glimpses of the American Dream

Poem Analysis- Robert Fross; Robert Browning; Anne Bradstreet
Robert Frost, Out,Out
1. In line 15, Frost describes the saw as being sinister. He infers that the saw has a mind of its
own, by stating that the saw jumped out of the boy s hand and cut the boy s hand terribly. Frost
also makes it seem as if the saw is in a way, like a friend. He does this by demonstrating that using
the saw is an advantage for the boy because it is making his job ten times easier. Without the saw,
the boy would spend hours cutting through the wood. 2. In Frost s poem, the people that surround
the boy must be his family. It could also very much be friends, or members of his community, along
with the doctor and nurses working on his injury. The tone of the poem leads me to conclude that

In other words, he, the Duke, controls the Duchess; or he wishes to control his Duchess. The Duke
wouldn t want anyone to see the portrait of his Duchess, with her blushed cheeks, unless he was
there. The same can be inferred from the last few lines of the poem, line 54 55, Notice Neptune,
though,/Taming a sea horse, thought a rarity,/ Which Claus of Innsbruck cast in bronze for me!
The Duke is implying, that he himself is Neptune, and his last Duchess is the sea horse. No one
could have imagined that a sea horse could be tamed, but Neptune achieved it. Identical to the way
that the last Duchess herself was tamed.
Adrienne Rich, Aunt Jennifer s Tigers,
In her poem, Aunt Jennifer s Tigers, Adrienne is describing the protagonist s feelings towards
her marriage. In lines 9 10, the protagonist feels that she is a prisoner of her marriage, and will
only be set free when she dies. The protagonist uses the tigers as a symbol of who she wished she
could be. In the first stanza of the poem, Adrienne describes the tigers as being un fearful of the
men. A trait she wishes she possessed.
Sharon Olds, Rite of Passage, 1. The speaker describes the first grade boys at her son s birthday
party as men. Their behavior is pure imitation of the men they have been around. Her description
of them is ironic, because how can first graders realistically be grown men? She also uses the
concept of violence a lot in the poem.

There has been growing recognition of the potential of design to transform health care drawing on
a tradition of creative and divergent thinking to address the significant challenges. These challenges
are by definition wicked problems , where there is no single true answer and where design s
strength lies in creatively responding to these complex interdependencies.
Escalating costs of healthcare services and a shortage of personnel and facilities have put pressure
on the health system to deliver more care on an outpatient basis.
While tending to health needs at home has a long history and some medical devices have been used
in the home for many years, we are now witnessing an increasing migration of other devices and
emergent technologies into the home setting.
However most medical devices are designed for health professionals in formal health care settings
and not for domestic use. Consequently there are many challenges to address the complexity
demanded by the varied users within this environment.
eHealth is the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for health (WHO).
According to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) telehealth and telecare are relatively new
eHealth services, the language used to describe them is still evolving and the terms used are
interchangeable. Telehealth (also referred to as telemedicine) covers the remote monitoring of
physiological data that can be used by health professionals for diagnosis or disease management.

Budgeting Is The Most Important Parts Of The Project...
Budgeting is one of the most important parts of the project planning process. Projects that come in
at or under budget when completed depends on it. Poor planning will lead to budget crisis where
the project could end up costing double or triple times the budget and delay the opening of a facility
or business by that same token; time is money. As Dr. Pace mentions, had the planners of the Irwin
Army Community Hospital paid attention to the budget planning, the sponsor might have realized
the short comings of that project (G. Pace, personal communication, December 3, 2015). Therefore,

The scope of the project gets defined in the work breakdown structure (WBS), where the schedules
are planned, and resources are assigned; at which the project manager are more familiar and can
estimate more precisely to an agreeable point with the customers. Project scope has a great
influence on the accuracy of cost estimates (Ciraci Polat, 2009).
The delay and disruption caused by bad estimation may lead to project failure (Lee et al. 2009) or
at best to project management failure, that is, not delivering the project on time, within budget,
and per specifications (Khamooshi Cioffi, 2013). Projects that come in at or under budget when

Jumbo Loan Limit Analysis
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) establishes limits for conforming
loans on homes. Any home that falls outside of the guidelines cannot be securitized, purchased or
guaranteed by Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, therefore they are referred to as Houston jumbo loans.
The loan limits established by the OFHEO change annually, thus potential home buyers need to be
aware of current conforming loanlimits before purchasing a home. Individuals wishing to purchase
a home that exceeds the conforming loan limit need to looking into non conforming jumbo loans.
Jumbo Loan Limits
Currently, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight has set the conforming loan limit at
$417,000 for all states within the continental United States. Homes in Alaska and Hawaii may be
purchased at amounts up to $625,500 and still be purchased, securitized or guaranteed by Fannie
Mae or Freddie Mac. In addition, in areas where homes fall into a high priced market, such as in
Los Angeles, the limit is higher, allowing home buyers to purchase a residence as high as $625,500
with a secured loan. this does vary by area, however, thus home buyers need to learn the limits in
their region to determine how much they may obtain without turning to jumbo home loans. At this

The Importance of Being Earnest Essay
AThe Importance of Being Earnest a play written by Oscar Wilde is set in England in the late
Victorian era. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his
time period. According to Roger Sale in Being Ernest the title has a double meaning to it and is
certainly another example of satire used by Wilde. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the
absurdities of the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. (Sale, 478) In the
Victorian era, courtship rituals were slightly different from modern time courtships. It started with
couples speaking first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after
mutual attraction was confirmed. The character... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. When you do become engaged to someone, I, or your
father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact. An engagement should come
on a young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that
she could be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622). Lady Bracknell s harsh criticism and
stubborn ways are customary of upper class mothers in the era. Ironically enough, Algernon later
develops a kind of forbidden love. The object of his affection is young and being taught to be
unimaginative and serious. One thing that Jack and Algernon have in common is that they both
have these false faces. Algernon s alter ego Bunbury is a version of himself used in the country but
he uses Ernest to marry Cecily. The story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both
Cecily and Gwendolyn become engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the
irony comes from this character. One of Wilde s satiric targets is romantic and sentimental love,
which he ridicules by having the women fall in love with a man because of his name rather than
more personal attributes. Gwendolyn said No, there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at
all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces

Rent To Own Essay
Before my dad began working at RNR Tire Express I did not know very much about rent to own.
I understood that it meant you rent something until you own it just by drawing conclusions. I
think it is easy to find the benefit of rent to own in America especially in tough economic times.
Nowadays it is uncommon for people to be able to pay for large, yet necessary items in one full
payment. For example, new tires can be very expensive, but they are necessary in order to drive
safely. Old, worn tires are a safety issue and could cause more damage to your car if they aren t
replaced. I think many Americans dread having to get new tires because it often times means
spending moneythat they do not have. I think there are many Americans that would have to choose
between new tires or paying another bill if they had to pay for their tires in full, upfront. Rent to
own makes it possible for someone to buy a new set of needed tires without breaking the bank by
allowing them to make payments. Another benefit to making payments is that usually the buyer
can choose the best time for them to make their payments such as weekly, biweekly, or monthly....

Atticus Qualities In To Kill A Mockingbird
In To Kill a Mockingbird, a novel by Harper Lee, Atticus displays many admirable qualities. He is
a figure many look up to, and many respect. His emotions never get the better of him, and he is
always calm and collected. He is kind and pleasant to everyone, no matter how they treat him. He
loves his children a lot, and raises them to the best of his ability, even though people criticize him
for raising them the way he is. Because of all the reading Atticus does, he is very knowledgeable,
and although he is definitely one of the smartest people in the town, he never brags and always
stays humble. Atticus has numerous admirable qualities; he is loving, amiable, and humble. One of
Atticus s best characteristics was his humble nature. Although he was a very smart and skilled
person, he never bragged over anything. Atticus shooting Tim Johnson was one great example of
this. Atticus, using his amazing rifle skills shoots a sick dog, and impresses his children greatly.

of potentially dangerous men, and his children follow him there. Knowing that the situation could
get ugly, Atticus immediately tries to get his children to leave and go home. One slightly different
example comes soon after when Atticus demonstrates the one way he shows physical affection for
his children. As they passed under a streetlight, Atticus reached out and massaged Jem s hair, his
one gesture of affection. (207) Despite not showing love in the way most would, loving is certainly

Analysis Of Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn
INTRODUCTION
Out of the four gospels, Mark s gospel seems to be the one most focused on Jesus s miracles.
This paper will be looking at the purpose and meaning of these miracles. First, what is a miracle?
A miracle is, a special act of God that interrupts the natural course of events. There are three
different kinds of miracles that Jesus does: exorcisms, nature miracles, and healings. Just as there
are three kinds of miracles, there seem to be three different purposes for His miracles. These are to
attract people, to prove Jesus was the Messiah, and to show God s characteristics.
Before one can discuss the purpose and meaning of His account of Jesus miracles, it is important
to define what Mark s goal was with writing this Gospel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

MIRACLES IN ANCIENT HISTORY Greek and ancient Near Eastern societies understood the
occurrences of miraculous events as evidence of spiritual beings and the divine participating in
earthly affairs. Typical Greek and ancient Near Eastern cosmologies reserved an essential role for
deities and spiritual beings within the natural order of the world. Although miraculous events were
extraordinary, they were not considered contraindications to the natural order. Common miraculous
events that occurred in ancient society included: healings, oracles, celestial portents, extraordinary
natural events (eg. earthquakes). The distinction between miracle and magic derives from the
observer s perspective, which can involve numerous factors, including; group membership;
historical context; cultural context; and theological views. In the fifth and fourth centuries bc,
many Greeks and Romans came to suspect traditional healers, diviners, prophets, and wonder
workers of being magicians . In the Roman imperial period, Christ followers recognized wonders
performed by or through God as miracles and commonly characterized all other wonders as magic
performed by or through the devil. Stratton refers to this as the Christian magic discourse (e.g.,
Acts 8:9 15; 13:6 12; Stratton Naming the Witch, 107 41; see also Remus, Pagan Christian
Conflict, 48 82; Lampe, Miracles and Apologetic, 205 18).

Isaac Newton was a key figure in the development of the age of reason. His achievements
revolutionized physics and mathematics and he has been recognized as an undisputed genius
(Gardner 13). Newton was a intriguing individual who played an important role in the
advancement of the scientific community of his time and of today. Newton was born on
Christmas day in 1642 to a widowed farming mother. When he was three his mother left him in
the care of his grandmother, so she could remarry (Westfall 1). After being widowed for a second
time she came back to help care for her son. At the age of twelve he was sent to The King s

He also invented the methods of calculus and began his research of optics and the color spectrum
(da C. Andrade 50). The unfortunate thing about Newton s astounding discoveries was that he
never published any of them until later in his life, which caused much conflict. This period was
the prime of Newton s interest in math and science, as time progressed his interest faded towards
alchemistry (chemical experimentation) and interpreting Biblical prophecy of which his written
works far outnumber those on natural philosophy and mathematics (Gardner 13). Despite his in
depth involvement in logic and natural philosophy, Newton still passionately believed in the
necessity of God. He felt that only a divine being could create a universe of such harmonic
balance, and that God periodically intervened to keep everything intact and working properly
(White 329). Newton s character astounded some and outraged others. Newton was very
withdrawn from the world, all his works he studied and performed in isolation and seldom shared
his ideas with others. The delay of the publication of his works in natural philosophy was due to
his extreme fear of criticism. Newton s greatest work Philosophiea Naturalis Principia Mathmatica
(Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), often just called the Principia, wasn t published
until 1686, after Edmond Halley had convinced him to publish it despite Newton s fear of his
devout critic, Robert Hooke (Weisstein 1). Newton

The Ku Klux Klan (KK)
The Ku Klux Klan( K.K.K.) is a domestic terrorist organization established during the
Reconstruction era. Slavery was no longer a legal business during this time period but freedom
was hardly available to millions of newly freed blacks. The membership of the hate group was
dominated by lawmakers, more specifically republicans from Pulaski, Tennessee. White men and
women dressed in white robes and cone shaped masks and often rallied at night to terrorize black
communities. The mindsets of Klan members were centered on black and white no metaphor.
They felt that the white race was superior and blacks were inferior. In the southern states black
people were being murdered and terrorized by the thousands and because the Klan had direct
influences with the local police forces, judges, and medical professionals, there was no justice for
black victims.
The American government has a greater concern with combatting foreign terrorism than it does
with combatting domestic terrorist groups such as the KKK. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi

Design And The Technologies Used
In depth defense network design.
пѓ Design a defense in depth network. Research the latest technology such as firewalls, IDS, IPS,
VPN, Virus Protection, and Malware Protection. Describe your design and the technologies used.
Defend your design and provide a logical diagram of the system.
When it comes to network defense, there is never a safe zone where a network is prone to
attacks, which is why it is always a good idea to make use of the in depth strategic defense. This is
a coordinated use of multiple security countermeasures to protect the integrity of the information
assets in an enterprise. This type of defense makes it difficult for an enemy to get into, because of
its complex and multilayered defense system (Rouse, 2007). Defense in depth minimizes the
probability that the efforts of malicious hackers will succeed. A well designed strategy of this kind
can also help system administrators and security personnel identify people who attempt to
compromise a computer, server, proprietary network. Some of the things that make up a defense in
depth are antivirus software, firewalls, anti spyware, strong passwords, intrusion detecttion,
biometrics and much more (Rouse, 2007).
The first thing that comes to mind in designing an in depth defense network is access control and
authentications. Which means that we will be dealing with firewalls, which will be used to protect
the servers, segments and subnets. This first step will establish an industrial demilitarization zone,

Anna Karenina Essay
In Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy presents marriage in a realistic sense, marriage is not an easy
institution; couples must work through the rough patches in order for it to be strong; he also
presents passion as a force that can have a positive influence, but simultaneously presents passion
as a factor that can have a corrupting power on a person s life. These two couples, Levin and Kitty
and Vronsky and Anna, are compared throughout the course of the novel. Levin and Kitty differ
from Anna and Vronsky because they do not communicate in the same ways. Kitty and Levin try to
resolve issues as they arise, so that they do not create a bigger issue. Another difference is that Ann
and Vronsky are sheltered from society because of Anna s position... Show more content on

They are completely open with each other, no matter how difficult the subject is to talk about.
Anna and Vronsky are completely different with respect to their communication. They are
described as having a dark and powerful spiritual bond (Merezhlevosky, pg.772). Because their
relationship is based solely on love, it is harder for them to communicate effectively. Rather than
take the time to solve a problem, Anna and Vronsky blame each other for the problems. Anna is
described as getting more and more heated and thereby betraying the cause of her irritation
(pg.326). Anna simply gets angry and as a result cannot have a conversation with Vronsky. This is
quite different from the Anna we are introduced to early on in the novel. She is portrayed as a
sweet, charming woman. This kind of attitude is not at all what is expected of Anna. Vronsky is
does not handle situations well either. At one point in an argument, Vronsky leaves. He is described
as having announced his departure (pg.584). Unlike Kitty and Levin, Anna and Vronsky try to
avoid each other when an issue comes up.
Because of Anna s position as a fallen woman, she and Vronsky lead rather different social lives
than do Kitty and Levin. As Anna and Vronsky s relationship develops and becomes public, their
interactions with society become dulled. At one point, Anna wishes to go to the theatre; however
Vronsky and vises her not to because society

Interest Groups in Texas Essay
In this essay I will compare and contrast the different legislative agendas of various interest
groups involved with the Texas Government. An interest group (also called an advocacy group,
lobbying group, pressure group, or special interest) is a collection of members that are
determined to encourage or prevent changes in public policy without trying to be elected. The
essay will discuss the four kinds of interest groups, trade, professional, single and public, as well
as provide one detailed example of each type. It includes examples from the Texas Alliance of
Energy Producers, Texas AFT, MADD and TexPIRG interest groups, which are just a few of the
many groups in existence out, but it provides an idea of what different types of... Show more content

The Texas AFT wants to influence the legislator because the school districts have been left to try
to make up for inadequate state aid by raising local tax rates, even as the state has continued to
make it much harder for them to accomplish this. Basically, all they want to do is handle the
budget crisis in the school districts of Texas. To analyze the successes and failures of Texas AFT
in influencing legislation is short and sweet; school systems are still under budgeted and local
taxes are still being raised to help the schools. The only break educators have received was in
2006 with surplus dollars tax swap for which the bill is now belatedly coming due. The third
interest group of topic is a single interest group called Mothers Against Drunk Driving, also
known as MADD. A single interest group is a group of persons working on behalf of or strongly
supporting a particular cause, such as an item of legislation, an industry, or a special segment of
society. (Answer.com) Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a non profit organization

One Of Holden’S Main Defense Mechanisms In The Novel Is
One of Holden s main defense mechanisms in the novel is isolation and same isolation can
derive from his constant depression.. Holden chooses to isolate himself many times throughout
the storyline because of his saddening past. An article by Debbie Roome acknowledged
Depression is another prime cause of isolation. A depressed teen loses interest in everyday
activities and drops out of social groups at school (Roome). The reader will in fact see this early
on in the book demonstrating Holden flunked out of his school! The quote Where I want to start

For instance, Holden can be seen isolating himself when he distances himself from the rest of the
school at a football game, the quote I remember around three o clock that afternoon I was standing
way the hell up on top of Thomsen Hill, right next to this crazy cannon that was in the
Revolutionary War and all (Salinger 2). The depression which is causing him to isolate himself is
very evident throughout the novel because of the main ideals circling around these two defense
mechanisms. The depression may also derive from the relationship with Holden and his mother.
Freud would argue that Holden s lack of any meaningful attachment to his mother leaves him
feeling inadequate and depressed thus making Holden isolate himself. In an article by Neil Farber
M.D the main idea was on mother and child relationships and how it affects the child s development
and psychoanalysis. Farber acknowledges that parent child relationships influences child and
family functioning as well as and has the used longitudinal studies to look at the association
between parenting styles and children s emotions and behaviors that may contribute to early
mental health issues in children (Farber ). And this can be one direct reason on why Holden
behaves the way he does because when Holden s family went through the loss of a son/ brother the
mother began to not focus as much on Holden thus driving Holden into a depressed state of mind
and those furthermore caused the isolationism.

The Importance Of Equality And Equality
We have shifted into an age of acceptance, diversity and equality. However we don t all agree the
best way to become equal. Many believe we should all be the same to be equal, some believe we
should be boosted to all have the same outcome, but in that they are giving different chances. This
is a long standing debate and it will take a society coming together and agreeing to fix these
issues. Whether or not we have the answer these ideas were explored by cell phone manufacturers
in recent years. With their two advertisements, they both share themes of acceptance and diversity,
however they have different ways of coming to that conclusion. Early in May of 2016, Googlehad
released an advertisement for their operating system, Android. This advert was the story of a
piece of paper on his first day as a new student in high school. This paper person walked into the
school and was immediately ostracized by the majority of the scissor students, they all glared at
him as he walked down the hall. Not having any reprieve he looked around and got hope when he
saw more paper people. He walked towards them, and they turned to him, exposing drawings on
them, implying they are bad paper people, and they are bullies in this school. They then proceeded
to assault him, hitting him with a spitball, pushing his books on the ground, shoving him down,
then shaking him for all of his paper clips. Then he opened his eyes from his punishment to see an

Adam And Eve, And The Serpent
According to the Genesis in the Hebrew bible, the story of Adam and Eve in books 1 4 eating
from the tree of knowledge was considered a sin, but after a close analysis of the story perhaps
eating from the tree of knowledge only opened up Adam and Eves eyes to see the world for what
it truly is. The serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit, and later Eve convinced Adam to follow in her
footsteps. From this act the Lord GodPunished Adam, Eve, and the serpent. Their disobedience was
the first sin committed by the first humans, but why was the Lord God being so overprotective of
both Adam and Eve? Was finding out the truth of the world . Was eating from the tree of knowledge
a good or an evil act? And Why was the punishment that the Lord God implemented on Adam, Eve,
and the serpent harsh? Adam and Eve committed the first sin but through their sin or mistake the
human race has accomplished great success.
Was the Lord God being too overprotective of both Adam and Eve? Well, they had everything that
they could need in the Garden of Eden. In the Eden, the land was fertile with beautiful gardens,
fruit trees, cool breezes, rivers, and the tree of knowledge. He created eve from Adam s rib when
he needed company. Adam and Eve were the Lord God s first humans so he gave them the
highest quality of life and even gave them immorality. The Lord God really cared for them
because they were his first children. The Lord God only had one rule which both Adam and Eve
couldn t obey.

The story Country Lovers was written in 1975 when times were different then they are today.
This story was written about a farmer s son and one of the children of the farm s help. There are
many aspects of this story that are wrong but the most pronounced one is the racial segregation.
Even though certain races are perceived as inferior to some, there should be no such thing because
we all need to work together to make the planet a better place and lives are ruined over racial this

is really hard for some of us in America to understand because we do not live with this amount of
segregation. In certain places in Africa it is very strict on racial divides even to this day. Even with
the world stage crying for equality in race, ethnic and gender there are many countries today that
still have strict ethnic and racial divides as well as strict rules on the roles of women. Stories like
this one should be part of any school s curriculum. I did not know that countries were still like
this until I was in my late teens early twenties. I received a big dose of cultural sensitivity
training on my plane ride to Afghanistan in later 2001. I saw the horrible ways that women are
treated over there and I saw this again on a trip to the horn of Africa. I use the word horrible
because that is what it is to me by the standards I was raised with, but it is just normal life to them.

Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna
Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was born in Jalapa, Veracruz Mexico, on February 21, 1794. He
belongs to a criollo middle class family. His parents were from Spain. He was a Mexican politician
and military leader who was President of Mexico eleven times from 1833 to 1855. He was
president officially six times, and unofficially five more. He was also a disastrous president of
Mexicobecause he lost Texasand much more of the current American west in the United States.
However, by far he was an important figure of his generation in the Mexican history. Many people
love him during his first years of president, and he was remembered for two major conflicts, the
Battle of the Alamo in 1836 during the Texas Revolution, and as a restored Mexican leader during
the Mexican American War in 1847 (tshaonline.org).
The prestige of Santa Anna in 1829 helped him to gain the presidency in 1833. In 1829 he fought
against Spain s attempt to conquer Mexico, and after his victory everyone looked at him as a good
leader. His victory from Spain makes him immediately turn over power. At that time the vice
president was ValentГn GГіmez FarГas, and allowed him to make some reforms, including many
that aimed at the Catholic Church and the army. Because the people of Mexico do not accept his
reforms, Santa Anna stepped in and removed GГіmez FarГas from power, and consequently he
gained the presidency in 1833 as a Federalist and opponent of Roman Catholic Church. He was in
power from 1833 to 1836

Overfishing Is A Serious Problem
Overfishing is a serious problem that often gets overlooked. In the article by Udy Bell, called
Overfishing: A Threat to Marine Biology, Bell talks about how only 1 percent of the world s
oceans are marine protected areas (MPAs). MPAs not only help protect oceans by allowing
habitats to recover from damage caused by overfishing but also allow fishto safely reproduce. Due
to fishingfish faster then they can reproduce, many species of fish are going endangered or
already endangered of being extinct. Species like whales, dungongs, sea cows, codfish, jewfish,
sharks, and other marine vertebrates are examples of fish that are being overfished. Overfishing
was addressed at the World Summit in Johannesburg, Africa in 2002 (Bell 17). At the World
Summit, many experts in the field of overfishing agreed that the most effective way to battle
overfishing is by creating and establishing more MPAs around the world. Although overfishing is a
serious problem, there are ways to solve the problem like creating Marine Protected Areas.
Gutierrez 2
Humans are the ones responsible for the damage caused to our oceans by overfishing. MPAs are
essential to preserve and protect the biological diversity of the oceans (Kechington, Ward, Hegerl

Feminine Mystique, By Betty Friedan
In Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan writes about women s inequality from men to women s
equality to men, while also writing about women accepting the inequality to women and then
fighting for equality. Friedan encourages women to find worth outside of the home and explore
her possibilities but, for the sake of every member of the family, the family needs a head. This
means Father, not Mother. Children of both sexes need to learn, recognize and respect the abilities
and functions of each sex. He is not just a substitute mother, even though he s ready and willing to
do his share of bathing, feeding, comforting, playing. [...] If in that world he is interested,
courageous, tolerant, constructive, he will pass on these values to his children (Friedan 99).
Friedan is attempts to tell her readers that no matter the circumstances, men are handed power when
they re assigned their genderand they dominate the world in every aspect jobs, politics and at
home. Since the beginning, women, believing they didn t have any other choice, would blindly
follow their husband, because they were brought up believing when a woman grows up, they are
to only marry and have children. Girls didn t get excited about things like that anymore. We don t
want careers. Our parents expect us to go to college. Everybody goes. You re a social outcast at
home if you don t. But a girl who got serious about anything she studied, like wanting to go on and
do research would be peculiar, unfeminine.

Interpretation By Summarizing. To Summarize Is To State
Interpretation by Summarizing
To summarize is to state the most important points. We might try to summarize the Bible. We might
try to summarize some scientific observations. We might try to summarize our experiences. We
might try to summarize this book.
Many of our statements are summaries. It would be nice if we could interpret our observations and
experiences by pure objective summarizing. It s very difficult though. Our worldviews get in the
way.
Anytime we summarize, we leave out information that we consider minor. We only include
information that we consider the most important information. That makes it very easy to distort
reality into something that looks real but isn t real. There are several problems with summaries.
These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During analysis, we tend to unconsciously add elements of the worldview and create an illusion.
What we ve built in our worldviews seems real. When we add unreal elements from our
worldviews, we think those unreal elements are real. Worldviews give that illusion. During
analysis, we often unconsciously filter some elements out if those elements aren t part of our
worldviews. In addition, we don t have a way of knowing that we have identified all the elements
unless God reveals such a thing to us. The worldview is a deceitful filter. For this reason, Jesus sent
the Holy Spirit to guide us in the process. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to correct us when we get it
wrong.
Interpretation can t add information. It s not a source of new knowledge. It can give us a better
understanding of the information that exists. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the human
mind is deceitful and will automatically distort the interpretation.
Explanations as a Way of Knowing
During the Q A session, Bill made the following statement:
We challenge you; tell us why the universe is accelerating. Tell us why these mothers were getting

Explanations aren t found. Explanations are made up. The word explanation exposes wrong
thinking about how we can know. Bodie Hodge gives this example:
Now I want the readers to understand that just because someone has an explanation for something,
that doesn t make it true. The Greeks

Analysis Of Tim O Brien s Going After The
Paul in Wonderland: Reality vs. Fantasy in Tim O Brien s Going After Cacciato
On the surface, Tim O Brien s 1978 novel Going After Cacciato seems like a typical telling of the
Vietnam War from the perspective of one of the soldiers as the Third Squad searches for
Cacciato, a soldier who has gone AWOL. However, a closer reading would reveal that the vast
majority of the novel does not actually take place in reality. This search for Cacciato is a fantasy
which takes place in Paul Berlin s head, and the scenarios and even the Vietnamese people who
aid the Third Squad are completely fictitious. Only in a handful of chapters does the novel take
place in reality, and even fewer of these chapters takes place in one which is permanent. Reading the

The terminology parts unknown is frequently used in fairy tales and other stories in the genre of
fantasy, especially as a representation of a good place. The fact that they are currently fighting a
war in Vietnam, along with knowledge that Vietnam was once a colony of France, juxtaposes
Paris with the term parts unknown , as Paris can be seen similarly to the soldiers fighting the war
as the Emerald City is seen in any of the books in the Oz series.
The other chapter that takes place on the battlefield in a permanent reality is chapter 46, the last
chapter of the novel. One noticeable comparison between this chapter and the first chapter is that
they both share the same name: Going After Cacciato . This shows that they are both parts of the
same scene, where Doc tells Corson the news about Cacciato going AWOL. In this regard, the
novel seems to have finally come around full circle as Paul Berlin fully reenters reality after the
fantasy of the Third Squad chasing Cacciato across multiple continents. The beginning of the novel
has become the end.
This is even supported by a summary which occurs early in this chapter. Her smile when she first

be across the river from his parents plantation. G. W. Morris s parents, Ann Barnett Elliott and
Colonel Lewis Morris, owned a large piece of land called Bull s Island along with a plantation
across the river that was called Block Island. G. W. Morris inherited those pieces of land and
renamed the plantations The Grove, he later built what is known as The Grove House in 1828.

times. At one point in 1930 Thompson Brown purchased the plantation as a winter vacation
home. Brown also used the plantation for a place where his daughter could recover from her
illness of polio. Brown planted numerous amount of different trees within the property and also
ran power lines throughout the land leading to the house, giving the house electricity in 1947.
Roughly about two decades later Margaret B. Hendricks bought the plantation that was
containing about 2200 acres with only 400 acres of rice fields and then sold it in 1991 to The

I Want To Pursue My Degree In College
In the near future I plan on finishing my senior year of high school here at Ellington Academy and
I plan on attending a community college of my choice here in Michigan taking classes for
photography such as a filmmaking class and/or graphic communications as I do now at the Kent
Career Technical Center, furthering my knowledge and experience of that field.
I intend on having art as my major in college. I specifically became interested in art because of an
important event in my life when I was younger. A very close loved one I had used to love art and
would draw whatever I could imagine for me in extreme detail in little time. This exposed me to
my interest of art. Then, one day, this loved one passed away. I mourned this person s death for
a few years. About three years later I began thinking missing that person s artwork and I didn t
have any to remember them by. So I wanted to learn how to draw. I then began to self teach myself.
After a few years I began to grow deeper in the art field and ... Show more content on

I m still deciding on what college(s) I want to attend in the near future but i m doing my best to
make college life easier on myself. I m planning ahead of time and preparing myself right now to
make things easier on myself later on in my life later on such as: having a job, saving up money,
obtaining early college credits, applying to and doing research on colleges, and trying to keep my
grades up in high school.
In conclusion, It may have taken a while for me to choose a career path but I eventually chose to
become a photographer, to travel the world and take pictures to keep memories of the good times
and possibly even the bad ones to reflect back on. I have other careers that I chose to fall back on
such as accounting, animation, interpreter, camera operator, etc. Although I would prefer to stay in
the art

Summary Of Disco Rice And Other Trash Talk
In the article Disco Rice, and Other Trash Talk written by Ian Urbina, the sanitation workers
developed their own slang. Many people who work as garbage men cannot understand one
persons language, or way of speaking. Using slang as a language is easier for all of the workers
to communicate as a group. In addition to making it easier to communicate there are also
several other reasons why New York workers use slang terms. First of all, the garbage men are
working in the hot summer. In paragraph four it says It makes disgusting items not so disgusting.
Using other words like mongo and Disco rice is looking at the trash in a different way. They would
no longer have to picture loads of debris. using different words can also be a distraction

Inclusion and Consultation Theory
The principle of Inclusion tresses, among other concepts, that all members accept their fair share of
responsibility for all children, including those with disabilities (Dettmer, Thurston, Dyck, 2005, p.
40). This shared responsibility and giftedness is facilitated through consultation theory, which
employs a team approach to successful inclusionof students with disabilities within mainstream
education. Sheridan, Richards and Smoot (2000) report that Urie Brofenbrenner (1977) In a seminal
article, emphasized the importance of ecological considerations in child development by
recognizing that a child is part of a number of interrelated systems, each with reciprocal and
bidirectional influence on the others. (p.167) It is reported that the subsystems primarily addressed
in consultation are the microsystem and the mesosystem. The mesosystem is reported to be defined
as the immediate setting or system within which an individual functions at anyone point in time,
such as a classroom, neighborhood, or home setting. (Sheridan, Richards and Smoot, 2000, p.167)
Problems are addressed at this level at the time they occur in a setting or environment that is
isolated in nature whereas the mesosystem is focused on relationships among immediate systems in
an individual s environment, such as interrelations among the home and school settings. (Sheridan,
Richards and Smoot, 2000, p. 167) The focus at this level is such that enables the identification and
resolution of broader

  • 2. Culture, Culture And Culture Essay Culture Many times we hear concepts like Oriental culture , Italian culture or Gothic Culture . So we can understand and verify that it is an important concept related to the idea of the society where we live in. Culture, in Sociology, is a concept developed during XVIII and XIX centuries that has had various definitions. One exhaustive definition is in Browne (2015, p. 31): Culture refers to the language, beliefs, values and norms, customs, dress, diet, roles, knowledge and skills, and all the other things that people learn that make up the way of life of any society So when we use the expression Italian culture we know that we are talking about the entire set of believes, knowledge and the whole way of life that characterise Italian people. Something connected to their country but that is with them wherever they go. If they are born in Italy or within an Italian group of people they will speak Italian, they will eat traditional Italian food when they are home, they will be probably Catholic etc. While many concepts inside Browne definition are familiar and easy to identify like language and diet, three of them need a proper explanation for a better understanding of them. Values, Norms, Roles What are values ? The word values is often used in our daily language. When we listen to someone that is talking about her or his values we understand that that person is talking about something that marks out what characterize her/his own concept of what is important, ... The articles and television news coverage of celebrities is going to sell a lot more magazines and draw in a lot more viewers than something depressing and /or hard to understand like a genocide. Let s face it, when people come home from a long, hard day at work, they want to be entertained, not forced to think of the bad things happening in the world. Plus, thanks to a sub par educational system in the United States that teaches to the test and lets important subjects such as geography and social sciences fall by the wayside, many people don t even know where these places are that are experiencing humanitarian crises. They can t be expected to be interested in places of which they have never heard. This, at least, is the common perception among the media today. In 2005, the collective news media channels of this country ran 55 times as many stories about Michael Jackson and his trial for alleged child sexual abuse than they did regarding the genocide going on in Darfur. In fact, MTVu, which is the university station for MTV, did a more thorough job of covering Darfur than any of the major media outlets in the United States. Songlyrics In The Figurative Language In Literature Figurative language in the world of literature is language that uses words or expressions with a deep meaning that is different from the normal meaning of words and expressions. In the world of literature many writers and poets use figurative language to grab their audience attention. Figurative language is very common in poetry, lyrics, nonfiction writing and prose pieces. In this particular essay I would be discussing and analyzing different songlyrics that contain figures of speech and how effective these different figures of speech make the songs popular. In the figurative language we have different figures of speech. There are several figures of speech such as a hyperbole, personification, metaphor, simile and onomatopoeia. Each of these figures of speech all have different functions they play in the world of writing. Figures of speech are not used to exaggerate language, but to also cause a moment of excitement and intensity when reading. The majority of these figures of speech provide the writing with a more concise and clarifications of what the author, singer, writer or poet is trying to share with their particular audience. Some of the things that make up a defense in depth are antivirus software, firewalls, anti spyware, strong passwords, intrusion detecttion, biometrics and much more (Rouse, 2007). The first thing that comes to mind in designing an in depth defense network is access control and authentications. Which means that we will be dealing with firewalls, which will be used to protect the servers, segments and subnets. This first step will establish an industrial demilitarization zone, ... • 21. Anna Karenina Essay In Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy presents marriage in a realistic sense, marriage is not an easy institution; couples must work through the rough patches in order for it to be strong; he also presents passion as a force that can have a positive influence, but simultaneously presents passion as a factor that can have a corrupting power on a person s life. These two couples, Levin and Kitty and Vronsky and Anna, are compared throughout the course of the novel. Levin and Kitty differ from Anna and Vronsky because they do not communicate in the same ways. Kitty and Levin try to resolve issues as they arise, so that they do not create a bigger issue. Another difference is that Ann and Vronsky are sheltered from society because of Anna s position... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are completely open with each other, no matter how difficult the subject is to talk about. Anna and Vronsky are completely different with respect to their communication. They are described as having a dark and powerful spiritual bond (Merezhlevosky, pg.772). Because their relationship is based solely on love, it is harder for them to communicate effectively. Rather than take the time to solve a problem, Anna and Vronsky blame each other for the problems. Anna is described as getting more and more heated and thereby betraying the cause of her irritation (pg.326). Anna simply gets angry and as a result cannot have a conversation with Vronsky. This is quite different from the Anna we are introduced to early on in the novel. She is portrayed as a sweet, charming woman. This kind of attitude is not at all what is expected of Anna. Vronsky is does not handle situations well either. At one point in an argument, Vronsky leaves. He is described as having announced his departure (pg.584). Unlike Kitty and Levin, Anna and Vronsky try to avoid each other when an issue comes up. Because of Anna s position as a fallen woman, she and Vronsky lead rather different social lives than do Kitty and Levin. As Anna and Vronsky s relationship develops and becomes public, their interactions with society become dulled. • 22. Interest Groups in Texas Essay In this essay I will compare and contrast the different legislative agendas of various interest groups involved with the Texas Government. An interest group (also called an advocacy group, lobbying group, pressure group, or special interest) is a collection of members that are determined to encourage or prevent changes in public policy without trying to be elected. The essay will discuss the four kinds of interest groups, trade, professional, single and public, as well as provide one detailed example of each type. It includes examples from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, Texas AFT, MADD and TexPIRG interest groups, which are just a few of the many groups in existence out, but it provides an idea of what different types of... The Texas AFT wants to influence the legislator because the school districts have been left to try to make up for inadequate state aid by raising local tax rates, even as the state has continued to make it much harder for them to accomplish this. Basically, all they want to do is handle the budget crisis in the school districts of Texas. To analyze the successes and failures of Texas AFT in influencing legislation is short and sweet; school systems are still under budgeted and local taxes are still being raised to help the schools. The only break educators have received was in 2006 with surplus dollars tax swap for which the bill is now belatedly coming due. The third interest group of topic is a single interest group called Mothers Against Drunk Driving, also known as MADD. Holden chooses to isolate himself many times throughout the storyline because of his saddening past. An article by Debbie Roome acknowledged Depression is another prime cause of isolation. A depressed teen loses interest in everyday activities and drops out of social groups at school (Roome). The reader will in fact see this early on in the book demonstrating Holden flunked out of his school! The quote Where I want to start telling is the day I left Pencey Prep. For instance, Holden can be seen isolating himself when he distances himself from the rest of the school at a football game, the quote I remember around three o clock that afternoon I was standing way the hell up on top of Thomsen Hill, right next to this crazy cannon that was in the Revolutionary War and all (Salinger 2). The depression which is causing him to isolate himself is very evident throughout the novel because of the main ideals circling around these two defense mechanisms. The depression may also derive from the relationship with Holden and his mother. Freud would argue that Holden s lack of any meaningful attachment to his mother leaves him feeling inadequate and depressed thus making Holden isolate himself. In an article by Neil Farber M.D the main idea was on mother and child relationships and how it affects the child s development and psychoanalysis. Farber acknowledges that parent child relationships influences child and family functioning as well as and has the used longitudinal studies to look at the association between parenting styles and children s emotions and behaviors that may contribute to early mental health issues in children (Farber ). And this can be one direct reason on why Holden behaves the way he does because when Holden s family went through the loss of a son/ brother the mother began to not focus as much on Holden thus driving Holden into a depressed state of mind and those furthermore caused the isolationism. ... The serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit, and later Eve convinced Adam to follow in her footsteps. From this act the Lord GodPunished Adam, Eve, and the serpent. Their disobedience was the first sin committed by the first humans, but why was the Lord God being so overprotective of both Adam and Eve? Was finding out the truth of the world . In the article by Udy Bell, called Overfishing: A Threat to Marine Biology, Bell talks about how only 1 percent of the world s oceans are marine protected areas (MPAs). MPAs not only help protect oceans by allowing habitats to recover from damage caused by overfishing but also allow fishto safely reproduce. Due to fishingfish faster then they can reproduce, many species of fish are going endangered or already endangered of being extinct. Species like whales, dungongs, sea cows, codfish, jewfish, sharks, and other marine vertebrates are examples of fish that are being overfished. Overfishing was addressed at the World Summit in Johannesburg, Africa in 2002 (Bell 17). At the World Summit, many experts in the field of overfishing agreed that the most effective way to battle overfishing is by creating and establishing more MPAs around the world. This shared responsibility and giftedness is facilitated through consultation theory, which employs a team approach to successful inclusionof students with disabilities within mainstream education. Sheridan, Richards and Smoot (2000) report that Urie Brofenbrenner (1977) In a seminal article, emphasized the importance of ecological considerations in child development by recognizing that a child is part of a number of interrelated systems, each with reciprocal and bidirectional influence on the others. (Sheridan, Richards and Smoot, 2000, p. 167) The focus at this level is such that enables the identification and resolution of broader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
