Persuasive Essay On Chocolate
Chocolate one of the only things in the world that can be as addictive as a drug but not affect our
health in a detrimental way. Sometimes when eating that chocolaty goodness, do you ever think about
where I could have possibly come from, or even looking past the chocolate itself, what about the
companies that produce that small bite of happiness, are they receiving the right benefits? Ferrero
Rocher is one of the biggest Chocolatiers in the world, it s websites provides an abundance of
information on the chocolate itself and company heritage, as well as provides insight on the social
responsibility, environmental safety, and the importance of their workers.
To begin, Ferrero Rocher is known to be one of the most equisite european chocolatiers in the world.
Ferrero has nationewide stores in possibly, every country. Personally, I love Nutella, developed from
the very own Ferrero Rocher itself, it is absolutely the most addicting thing a person could consume.
As a chocoholic, I consume chocolate daily, but it varies off brand. Nutella, is my perfect end to a
good meal, it is always my after dinner dessert or many times too often, my late night snack. However,
when you think of that spoon full of goodness, you often wonder who makes it so good?
Out of curiosity, I searched for Ferrero s official website (http://www.ferrerorocherusa.com/) on
Wednesday November 8, 2017. The website is filled with information about their chocolates, how
rocher was founded, where to buy the

The Repeat Offenders Project
The Repeat Offenders project is one that presents some concepts as pertains repeat offending. This
project, as earlier defined, was created with an aim of reducing the rates of recidivism. In it, unique
mechanisms of dealing with this problem have been presented through some of the mechanisms
presented already been implemented either fully or partially in different nations. Despite the
similarities that may exist between the concepts presented in this project with those implemented in
other nations, these are presented in a manner that gives them some uniqueness since the approach in
their implementation is one of its own kind. This paper serves to compile all the concepts which have
been presented so far under this project, citing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Governments have over the years been forced to spend massive funds in arresting and detaining
criminals who relapse back to the crime the moment they are released. Research according to (BJS,
2014), has proven that within a period of five years, three out of four malefactors who initially were
punished for crimes relapse back to similar or different criminal activities. Many nations have already
put in place mechanisms to counter this problem in vain. It is for this reason that this unique project
has been presented and needs to be handled with the importance and urgency that it deserves.
The background of this project is based on an in depth analysis of repeat offending. This entails the
factors responsible or contributing to recidivism. Research has proven that most of the repeat
malefactors are the kids who were exposed to violence at a very early age, those who did not attain
very high levels of education, those who have got minor to serious psychological problems, the
unemployed who have some low level education as well as those involved in the abuse of hard drugs.
Effectively dealing with this problem thus lies in dealing with these issues. Arresting criminals and
subjecting them to the greatest of punishments has not seemed to work so far because after the
punishment, for as long as the underlying factors remain constant, one will always forget the
consequences of crime and relapse back to it if an

Empire Vs Persian Empire
The Persian empire under the Achaemenid dynasty was one of the largest and most diverse nations to
exist during the second wave of civilization. Persia effortlessly exuded wealth and power with its
grand structures and far stretching conquest. In total, there was close to 50 million people, all ranging
in background, culture, and religion, living under one empire. Ruling over such a large diverse
population may pose a problem for a nation in terms of intolerance and ethnic hatred. However, Persia
readily adapted to the influx of cultures. Leaders promoted various religious groups, as well as
appeasing specific cultural grievances in hopes of gaining trust and loyalty. (96) The Persian empire
accomplished a nearly impossible feat for a nation during this era: creating and sustaining an empire
with grandeur that lasted for over 220 years. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Funeral Oration p.34) Athens was a part of the city states that made up the Greek empire. Even
though they all lived under one empire and shared a common language and religion, each state was
independent which sparked frequent conflict between them. (99) What set Athens a part was its use of
democracy. Every citizen had the chance to participate directly in government. This character also set
them apart from other empires who ruled with kings. Pericles boasted about this fact during the
funeral. He states that their government does not seek the approval of others, but rather acts as a guide
for them to follow. Here he can be referring to neighboring states like Sparta or Corinth, and outside
empires. His air of superiority over other nations can be due to the fact that this speech was given 50
years after defeating the Persian army for the second time in ten years. This victory made way to
radicalization of democracy in Athens. (pg.

Benjamin West s Appreciation Of Affectionate Marriage

Art History
25 April 2017 The Commemoration of Affectionate Marriage
Benjamin West combines Neoclassicism and a baroque style composition to create a scene greater
than an average portrait in Mr. and Mrs. John Custance, 1778. In turn, the content within this theatrical
setting illustrates the change of attitude towards marriage during the late eighteenth century England,
especially through the interaction of allegories. The 60¼ x 84⅝ oil on canvas painting was created to
celebrate the union of John Custance and Frances Beauchamp Proctor. The painting was created the
same year the couple was wedded. By the end of the eighteenth century, the concept of marriage had
faced various ideological developments, which was indicative of the broader social and economic
growth during this period. West takes into account the desire for affectionate marriages rather than
ones solely based in economic need through compositional elements and symbolism.

and Mrs. John Custance rises above the genre of portraiture to represent the new ideology of marriage
in the late eighteenth century of England. The strong compositional elements coupled with
Neoclassical and a Baroque stylistic feature indicates the wealth of the subjects but also gives
emphasis to the actual union. Without the grandeur style of allegories, the painting would not edge
towards the historical painting genre. The combination of Hymen and Cupid is instrumental in
developing the theme of the painting and the painting s prestige towards the historical genre. The
presentation of the newlyweds with figures from antiquity gives a divine quality to their union. The
overall stylistic features mirror the concept of affectionate marriages by merging the meanings of
Cupid and Hymen and changing the focus of the painting to the interaction of the couple. West
fashions a painting that is morally instructive and reserved, but retains theatricality from the

Mr. M. H. S Glucose Level
It was 2 a.m. when Mr. H, a 52 year old man, arrived to the Emergency Department accompanied by
his brother complaining of dizziness and hyperglycemia. Upon arrival Mr. H s glucose level was 500

dyslipidemia, vision and respiratory problems. He was treated with insulin and put under supervision

attend diabetic lectures and read to gain the knowledge needed to prevent the consequences of
diabetes, but again he used the time to make excuses.
In 2003, Mr. H was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. Therefore, he had to go to the dialysis
unit three times a week. Due to this problem, he decided to retire so he would be able to go to the
dialysis sessions. Mr. H was committed in going to his dialysis session, but still according to him, he
could not change his lifestyle and eating habits. Three years later, his physician decided to do
peritoneal dialysis for him. Mr. H s daughter was taught how to perform it for him at home. Mr. H s
conditions started to deteriorate and he went into depression since he became dependent on others to
an extent that he did not want to take a bath.
Mr. H refused to take his insulin dose and his daughter was worried. In fact, Mr. H was much more
worried because he knew that two of his daughters were diagnosed with diabetes and he did not want
them to suffer. Mr. H continued to resist taking his insulin dose and other medications. In August 13,

Hegemonic masculinity represent a structure of dominance and oppression in the gender order. This

One of the hardest video games in recent memory, From Software s third person action Dark Souls

quickly into the game, as one of the first items in the game, the Tiny Being s Ring, blatantly lies to the

Because of her background, she is prone to embellishment and filling in the gaps where possible.
Because of her large sense of self, she does more embellishing to increase her moral and social
standing. Because of the embellishment, the true story gets lost amidst her interpretation, like a deck
of cards getting reshuffled; people can make different hands with the same cards. As the novel wears
on, the readers stop caring so much about Nelly, as her so consistently emphasized good qualities turn
out to be of so little use, her technique effectively backfiring (Mathison 22). A story is truly at the

because of that, a new level of meaning gets added to what was already there; a meaning of what

How Does Sarty Show Identity In Barn Burning
In William Faulkner s story Barn Burning, a ten year old boy, Sarty develops his own identity as he is
trying to resolve the conflict between his loyalty to Abner, his father and accepted social norms of
justice. Sarty is raised by a very poor family in the south who make their means by sharecropping. The
family represents the lot of sharecroppers who have no intentions of improving the conditions of their
life. The sharecroppers work on farms with rich landowners; Abner is a rebel and shows his anger
towards his life by burning landowners barns. Abner influences Sarty, and drives him toward manhood
prematurely by continually putting Sarty in a position to choose between his father s idea of justice
and his own, because of this Sarty is left to decide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sarty disapproves of the barn burning and knows that everyone is just looking for the truth and for the
justice system to exact wrongs done. When the first barn burning scene happens the African American
who runs to tell the owner therefore Sarty didn t have to decide whether to tell the owner or let it burn.
In the second barn burning there is a lack of an African American and Sarty has to make his own
decisions. This barn burning Sarty turns against his father. The quote, If I had said they wanted only
truth, justice, he would have hit me again (Faulkner 3). When his father was talking to him it was
obvious that Sarty went into deep thought about this. He was clearly conflicted as what to do. When
he finally told the Peace of the Justice the truth Abner disapproved. Abner s as well had a very
different idea of what Justice was. The moment when Sarty finally began to question is quoted here, I
could run on and on and never look back, never need to see his face again (Faulkner 9). Sarty starting
to think about this more seriously shows he has become a man. Men make their own decisions. Sarty
is young but all that he is put through is the reason why he

The Role Of Railroads In American Industrialization
In nineteenth century America, the development of railroads had often been linked with The
annihilation of time and space . In the nineteenth century, the United States had not seen a means of
transportation with as much potential to drastically change various aspects of daily life as the railroad.
While today railroads may be viewed as a dated and ineffective method of transportation, they played
a tremendous role in the United States conversion to an industrialized nation and expanding its
economy. Although some may view the introduction of canals as the most vital contributor to
American industrialization, the development of rail transport was the most beneficial innovation to the

They had the ability to expand the national market like never before. In their publication, authors
Olson and Kenny inform that, Railroads not only became the country s first corporate giants but also
stimulated the coal, iron, and steel industries and linked the different regions of the country into a
single national market that provided new opportunities for manufacturers (The Industrial Revolution:
Key Themes and Documents). The increased popularity in railroading led to an increase demand for
resources needed in the expansion of the nation s railway system. A few markets that benefited greatly
from this demand were those supplying coal and steel. The heavy demand for steel was caused by the
need for railroad companies to forge more railway tracks, while the increase demand in coal was used
to fuel the locomotives once they were on the tracks. Furthermore, the rise in popularity and
expansion of the railway system allowed manufacturers to reach a potential consumer base that would
not be available to them otherwise. While discussing railroads abilities to increase economic
productivity Kenny and Olson inform that, Such booming opportunities to sell stimulated the need for,
and therefore the development of, mass production technologies and monumental increases in the size

callous men can become. However, callousness varies, whether they chose to be apathetic, like Tim

Even the author undergoes an incredible change from the beginning of the story, and through the trials
and tribulations, he becomes an almost completely different person. Although there were more
situations in which this particular change was exhibited, I feel that these represented it to the most
acute degree.
Incredible paranoia is one side effect of being surrounded by so much carnage. After Lee Strunk
comes back from the undertakings involving his broken nose, Dave Jensen went into a mentality
consisting of paranoid lunacy. When you are around a person who has an incredible amount of spite
for you, as well as ready access to firearms, moreover nothing to lose, one cannot help but spend their
days looking over your shoulder. Living in fear of someone you have crossed, waiting for the day
when you will be caught off guard, giving them the chance to exact their horrible revenge. Jensen just
could not take it any more, and he went as far as to break his own nose. It takes a certain type of
motivation for a person to sit down and break his own nose. But afterwards, he felt as if a great burden
had been lifted off of his shoulders. And that is exactly what the war did, it burdened these men,
whether the baggage be physical or emotional, war is a burden that is not only difficult to remove, but
difficult to carry.

Cherokee Indian Benefits
If you don t know the history about the Cherokee indians I am going to tell you in my essay. In my
opinion i feel that the best chance of survival is to just accept new tribal lands and move west. After all
the research about the Cherokee indians i feel if they want they tribe to be safe is to flea their land.
The reasons i say the Cherokee should leave is because if they do leave they will be given 5,000,000
dollars and 7,000,000 acres of land. Another reason they should accept to move to the west is to
prevent their tribe from being terminated by president andrew jackson by being attacked. More

The reason is because they would receive 5,000,000 dollars to start over in the west. When the

They will be able to buy some materials for new places to live. They will be able to buy some food for
their tribe. Even though they won t be able to get there gold back they still will be rich in dollar bills.
Also they will receive 7,000,000 acres of land. On the other side of the argument there is a resist side.
The resist side is telling them to resist because the Cherokee was their first, and there forefathers
inherited that land, and that they was already rich in gold and nutrients. I said accept instead of resist
because there tribe will become extinct and die out because the U.S Government will attack the
Cherokee. Some more reasons the Cherokee should leave is if they don t they will be attacked and
terminated by the Government. The Cherokee will be doomed because they wouldn t have no more
children and their tribe will be extinct. Some evidence of what Major Ridge said is accept his offer or
Risk the terminations of their tribe . He said that because if the Government attack the cherokee they

Non Effective Followers And The Groups Of Followers,...
The four groups of followers operated as alienated followers, sheep, yes people, and survivors, all
lacking the key factor of being able to succeed without strong leadership. Sheep lack initiative and
sense of responsibility, while yes people refuse to be against the leader (Wren 195). Alienated
followers tend to think more independently but are prone to group think. They are normally
dissatisfied and/or resentful. Any of these three groups can at any time merge into the survivor group
because this group of followers operate under the slogan better safe than sorry (Wren 195). If a leader

Transformational leadership is used by a leader to appeal to the moral values of followers in an

When first studying Jim Jones, one would think that he led through transformational leadership;
however, he actually leds through pseudotransformational leadership. Since Jones preached about
equality and accepting all men, his messages seemed consistent with ethical morals. He also formed a

emotions in most members and even visitors, and is often talked about in movies (McCloud). One
would think that people would be tired after all the commotion, but, on the contrary, people felt
revived and energized after services. Jones finally showed his true style when he moved part of his
congregation to Guyana. At this location, Jones

Presentation Of A Banquet Server

server has helped me to appreciate people hard work around the tables serving their clients without
complaining their exhaustion. According to Christa Titus, the author of The Definition of a Banquet
Server, A banquet server is a person who serves food and beverages to guests at an event. The servers
work at many special events such as graduation ceremony or wedding feast. Some of their duties are
serving the ordered dishes, cleaning up the leftovers and assisting guests with their menu items. From
my observation, this career is a low class job which pays a little amount of money for the life expenses
alone. The workers are paid by hour but the wages in each country are varied. I am a student so my

Barn Burning Little Sarty Character Analysis
Throughout William Faulkner s Barn Burning, little Sarty struggles with an internal conflict. He feels
pressured to lie on behalf of his father, Abner, because he is family; but he also feels that he should tell
the truth about his father burning the barn. All his life, Sarty was taught by his father that blood is the
most important thing in life; and because they were a poor family, it s all they had. Although Sarty was
just ten years old, he knew that lying wasn t the right thing to do. However, he continued to lie for his
father out of fear of losing his family. As the story progresses, little Sarty s internal conflict only gets
worse. His father, who would never change his ways, decides to burn down his new boss s barn. In
order to try and stop his father from burning down the barn and to also stop having to lie on behalf of
his father, innocent Sarty, warns the boss of his father s plan, completely unaware of the danger this
would put his father in. Ultimately, his father and brother are killed and Sarty leaves the rest of his

INTRODUCTION
Marketing is an integrated communications based process through which individuals and communities
discover that existing and newly identified needs and wants may be satisfied by the products and
services of others. Perhaps the most important factor in successful marketing is marketing plan. A
marketing plan is a written document that details the necessary actions to achieve one or more
marketing objectives. It can be for a product or service, a brand, or a product line.
The purpose of this marketing plan is to clearly identify the direction that we have decided to take in
order to MARKET our business to promote our business, attract and retain customers and exploit

STEM Leadership Scholarship
(FULL DISCLOSURE: The attitude I display in this writing is purely for the sake of exhibiting
confidence in myself. Admittedly, I find it a little odd to be writing some much boasting on myself,
but if that s what it takes for this scholarship, I will.)
I am the prime candidate for this STEM Leadership scholarship for many reasons, the greatest of
which I would say is that I plan to study something at the heart of STEM: cyber engineering. This
major is the epitome of what STEM stands for; technology is becoming more and more integrated into
our daily lives and studying this major will not only help me to stay up to date with the trends that will
come (and inevitably go), but will also give me the skills and knowledge to potentially develop my
own ideas into something that people can integrate into their everyday lives. Studying this major also
gives me the potential to bring my new knowledge with me wherever I go and keep wherever I am in
the current times. Now, I do not by any means mean to belittle any of the other three fields in STEM
because all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyone who knows me knows that I am not really one to get too worked up about much unless it is
something that I am truly passionate about. The thing that maintains the greatest amount of passion in
my life is my love for music. Before moving to Pitkin three years ago, I was a part of my high school s
marching band and that gave me probably the greatest outlet I had ever experienced for my passion for
music. (My parents could attest to this because they would laugh that I always got so into the music as
we played it... needless to say, I loved it.) I believe that the passion I am developing for working with
computers and software can very easily grow into something to the same magnitude as that as I have
for music. This scholarship would help fund that passion so that it can grow into a strong force in my

The Symbolic Interactionist View Of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a national and annual holiday where people express their gratitude and appreciation
towards family members, friends, significant others, their religion, their health, their education, or are
appreciative of what they have. Most of us are all aware that Thanksgiving is one of the happiest days
of the year because we all share a traditional meal with our family and often give thanks to our loved
ones. Typically, on this day interactions are what is primarily being focused on. Everyone is
communicating with one another about how grateful they are to have them in their lives and this
ultimately strengthens and provides reassurance to the relationship. The most important part about
Thanksgiving is that all families come together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As symbolic interactionists believe, the emphasis of family reinforces and restores these bonds
through symbolic occasions. The symbolic interactionist perspective strongly believes that such
holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas strengthen an individual s bond with others due to the social
interactions taking place during the family meals and holidays. From this past Thanksgiving
experience, I can thoroughly agree with the symbolic interactionists on their claim about how vital
family interactions are. Throughout the night, I observed how everyone was communicating with one
another and building better emotional bonds together. Disputes aside, everyone just enjoys the holiday
and reminisce about memories of the past holidays. I, for one, was forming closer bonds with my
cousins that have not really played a role in my life. We all happily ate and later played games
together as a family. Therefore, I cherish moments and memories like these because not only do I
become closer with my family members, although, I can look back and remember all the great and
special times we all shared together. Conclusively, interactions are extremely important to establish a
strong relationship whether it being family, friends, significant others,

How Does Gram-Negative Bacteria Structure
Gram negative bacteria structure
The lipid A palmitoyltransferase pagP is an outer membrane enzyme of the gram negative bacteria
Escherichia coli. Gram negative bacteria are surrounded by two lipid bilayer membranes, which
enclose the periplasmic space composed of peptidoglycan that contains ions and proteins. The two
membranes differ in composition and function. With respect to composition, the inner or cytoplasmic
membrane is composed of phospholipids, such as phosphatidylethanolamine, phospatidylglycerol and
cardiolipin found in both the inner and outer leaflet. The outer membrane is highly asymmetric with
its inner leaflet having the same phospholipid composition as the inner membrane and the outer leaflet
consisting of lipopolysaccharides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order for the bacteria to establish a successful attachment on the host surfaces, they need to have an
adaptation ability towards external changes. Certain cellular regulators transmit signals from the
exterior to the inner part of the cell via cytoplasmic secondary messenger systems or so called
alomers. In bacteria this function is performed by the 3 ,5 cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)
which is an ubiquitous molecule found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. The cAMP targets its
receptor, the cAMP receptor protein (CRP) and this CRP cAMP complex formed binds to the DNA in
order to activate the expression of genes that code for enzymes responsible for the supply of energy of
the cell, besides the cAMP is a derivative of ATP independent of glucose. It is studied that the CRP
cAMP is a global regulator of gene expression of almost 200 operons in E.coli. Type 1 fimbriation is
dependent on growth phase and it is found that CRP cAMP regulates type 1 fimbriae expression
during the exponential growth phase. CRP and cAMP levels are influenced by environmental
conditions mainly by glucose availability and osmolarity. These particular conditions affect also the
DNA topology in E. coli. There are others global regulators, expect the CRP cAMP, found that affect
the type 1 fimbriae expression such as the H NS, the RpoS

Epistemological Development Essay example
Everything in education is impacted by the perspective of a biblical worldview because educating a
child is teaching them to know and find truth. According to Knight, Much truth exists outside of the
Bible, but no truth exists outside the metaphysical framework of the Bible. (2006, p. 226). The
concepts of the Bible are used to give a unifying foundation for all subjects taught. The Bible also
becomes the integration point. All content knowledge is contextually interpreted with the Bible
because God is the source of all truth and the one who unifies all truth in Himself. The Bible can be
compared to leaven that permeates all subjects. This gives all subjects significance and all subjects
then give significance to a child s life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Postmodernism is the rejection of universal truth, logic and reasoning. The view that truth is
subjective and personally defined creates a world without a meta narrative or overarching story to give
meaning or significance to life. Meta narratives, or stories that give definition to a culture or nation,
are power plays based upon deceit, in which leaders use language to create their own interpretation of
truth, for the purpose of domination over others. Human beings, as products of an evolutionary
system, are going nowhere, and are incapable of knowing or discovering truth. Individuals can only
pragmatically create a personal truth with no greater purpose than a truth that works for them
(Hoffecker, 2007).
Epistemological Development in Middle School Students
An important component of a biblical worldview is personal epistemology. An individual s
understanding of how knowledge is achieved and truth discovered. As students progress through
school, they progress through specific stages of epistemological development, evolving increasingly
more sophisticated ways of accepting, justifing and understanding truth.
If worldview development is part of cognitive development, then it will be a gradual process by which
reasoning becomes more sophisticated and complex. At each stage, children will actively structure and
restructure their understanding in a significantly different way. According to Jean Piaget, at sixth
grade, a child s

The Sun God And Hercules Masculinity In Hamlet
Due to the death of his father and the remarriage of his mother, Hamlet must now be subservient to his
Uncle Claudius, for whom he has no respect. In his soliloquy, Hamlet contrasts his late father with his
uncle like a Hyperion to a satyr, [...] My father s brother, but no more like my father than I to Hercules
(1.2.140 153). To Hamlet, both Hyperion (the Sun God) and Hercules (a demigod) represent the
epitome of strength. In the case of Hercules, he embodies the patriarchal ideal of masculinity violent,
dominant, and immortal. He promotes the image that men should be unfeeling, undoubting, and all
action and no words. This is the unattainable standard of masculinity that men in Hamlet s society is
subject to, since in order to be a Real Man , that would require him to to become a God. ... Show more

Instead of being bold and brash, he is thoughtful, sensitive, and emotional, which are typically traits
reserved for women. As a result, the way that others perceive his mental instability is derived from
how much he falls short of male social expectations. His exhibition of emotions deemed unfit for men,
such as pain and vulnerability, identifies him as a social outlier. This vulnerability is triggered by the
sudden death of his father, which he vocalizes at his uncle s coronation. Hamlet complains that he
wished the Everlasting had not fixed/ His canon gainst self slaughter! (1.2.131 132). In this scenario,
death equates inaction, since Hamlet cannot do anything if he kills himself. This contrasts the male
social expectations placed upon him, since he is expected to act on his father s behalf by taking
revenge on his enemies and inflicting outward damage. However, Hamlet chooses to direct his
frustrations inward, reflecting on his actions in long soliloquies and thinking about self harm and

Supernatural Events In Macbeth Research Paper

Supernatural Events in Macbeth William Shakespeare had a common theme of supernatural events
and attributes in his plays. This continues in his famous play, Macbeth, where there are four main
supernatural events that incite the plot of the play. These metaphysical components add drama and
excitement to the play and are the catalysts to Macbeth s tragic hero downfall. The encountering of the
witches, the imaginary dagger, Banquo s ghost, and the apparitions all added dramatic elements to the
play including foreshadowing, suspense, subconscious thoughts, and plot stimulants. Through the
combination of unearthly phenomenon s and mundane characters, Shakespeare creates an imaginative
plot that establishes character s true thoughts and causes the characters to act on ideas brought upon by
these supernatural projections. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are the evil spirits that initially bring out the evil in Macbeth when he is at his highest point in
his career. He has just slain several traitors in the civilization and is well respected by King Duncan
and his fellow noblemen. The witches impose what they call Macbeth s fate on Macbeth and he whole

Hail to thee, thane of Glamis! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! and All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king
hereafter! (1.3.49 51) Since shortly after these proclamations, Macbeth actually was presented with
the title of Thane of Cawdor, he feels he has reason to trust what these supernatural sisters are telling
him. Each of the prophesies the witches make foreshadow the events in future scenes in the play that

I suffered a laceration of my arm, which proceeded laterally from the medial aspect of my left wrist.
The laceration only reached about halfway across this site, but that was enough to cause major
physiopathology in my left hand (primarily). The laceration severed my left ulnar nerve, ulnar artery,
and palmar interossei. I immediately lost sensation in the region described above (pinky and medial
aspect of ring finger, as well as proximally down my entire hand). Table 14.4 in the textbook
illustrates exactly the region affected (McKinley, O Loughlin, Bidle 556). I completely lost motor
control of the affected region, as well. I received first aid, and eventually surgeons were able to repair
the nerve, ligate the artery ( to tie, as in ligament or ligature ; the artery could not be repaired), and
repair the palmar interossei. The reason that I still have a functioning left hand is that both the ulnar
and radial arteries supply blood to the hand. As the textbook describes (as if the authors are describing
my own situation), If the left ulnar artery were cut, the left hand and fingers could still receive blood
via the left radial artery, since both vessels contribute to the superficial and deep palmar arches

Agriculture And The Industrial Revolution Of The Late 1700s
As the Earth s population grows at breakneck pace over the next several decades, who will feed the
world s people? Agriculture has undergone an extensive expansion and transformation throughout the
last few centuries, beginning with the Industrial Revolution of the late 1700s. New technology
allowed for better and greater methods of production. With the development of modern technology,
people try to think some way can plant less, get more. Many farmers plant only one crop in the same
place year after year. However, those against monocropping claim that it is very hard on the
environment and actually less profitable than organic means of farming ( Monoculture Crops Learn
About The Effects Of Monocropping ). In addition, the destructive nature of agriculture has recently
shown its hand. While our supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants are filled with abundant
food options, people forget to ask themselves where all this food comes from. Globalization has
opened up economies of scale and has allowed people to tap into different types of products, whether
that is food or clothing. But the availability of an increased mass market comes at a cost. However,
today, the modern farming techniques have grown into a headache for farmers and governments alike,
because they are the consequences of overproduction, industrial waste and other problems arising
from the modern methods of agriculture. Thus, modern techniques are harmful to environments,
animals, and humans.

Glacier National Park, located in Northwestern Montana, is an astounding spectacle of history and
beauty. Not simply just the history of the Native Americans and European descended settlers that call
the area their home, but also the geologic history of the Earth. The region is known for the beautiful
scenery that can be seen from anywhere in the park. Large, steep mountains rise out of deep, lake
filled valleys and thick conifer forests open up into grassy, flower filled meadows. The park is also
home to a wide variety of plants and animals. Grizzly bears and mountain goats wander through the
forests and rocky cliffs while beargrass flowers light up meadows and evergreens rise high above the
valleys below. It is for this beauty and scenery that the region was designated a national park for

The Factors Of Temperature Affects A Tenebrio Molitor s...
In this lab, an experiment was done in order to test how the abiotic factor of temperature affects a
Tenebrio molitor s activity level. Both experiments conducted consisted of two separate treatment
trials; one in a warm environment (25 degrees Celsius) and one in a relatively cold environment (14
degrees Celsius). Results obtained from these experiments both showed a higher level of T. molitor
activity in the warm environment as opposed to the cold environment where less activity occurred. In
this case, the activity level of a T. molitor was measured by distance travelled (cm) over one minute.
Prior to preforming the experiment, the prediction was made; An increase in environmental
temperature will lead to an increased activity level of T. molitor. This prediction was made based on
the knowledge of T. molitor being ectotherms. This is because temperature has been shown to have a
major effect on an ethotherms growth rate and development rate, with higher temperatures being
optimal conditions for both these to occur (Van Der Have et al. 1996).
Both experiments preformed showed the same trend of increased temperature leading to and increased
activity level, thus supporting our prediction. For instance, in experiment 1, T. molitor in the 25 C
moved a mean distance of 14.41 cm over 1 minute while moving a mean distance of 4.05 cm over 1
minute in an average environmental temperature of 13.8 C. Likewise, in experiment 2, T. molitor in
the 25 C environment moved a mean distance

Business acquisition is one of the most vital tools to expand an existing business effectively. An

similar operating activities and ended up controlling it. It is clearly different from merger which is the

Managing the process of acquisition correctly is the major challenge to make an acquisition work. A
number of different factors that ranges from setting well defined goals to look for circumstances under
which it will make sense to walk away must be carefully considered to make a successful acquisition.
In order to carry out an acquisition activity one must first understand whether the business is ready for
it. A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis can be carried out to assess the
condition of the business as it might give a clear direction about how to take maximum advantage of
the strengths, resolve weaknesses, exploit opportunities and avoid threats. Another way to understand
whether the business is ready for an acquisition is to carrying out a strategic gap analysis. This
involves identifying where the business stands now where one wants to see it after a defined period of
time. By identifying the gap between the two one can decide whether acquisition is well enough to
bridge the gap. However the extent of planning and research that can be done before making an
acquisition decision does not always prove to be enough as situations outside of control may arise and
one have to be prepared for these risks. Degree of uncertainty and the time and effort that are spent for
the deal can in effect damage the performance

Be Our Guest, a Boston based company, is a rapidly growing equipment rental company with

a very volatile and seasonal business. The founder, Stephen Lizio and co owners Al Lovata and
Simone Williamson found it difficult to fund daily operations because of seasonal cash shortages. In
1996, the company had secured a $100,000 revolving line of credit at the prime rate plus 1.5%, and a

In the short run, refinancing its existing debt to obtain better terms, such as lower interest rates, is also
a likely way to quickly free up cash. The company has very strong balance sheet and profitable
growth, so it has plenty of bargaining power to negotiate a better deal with State Street, especially in a
banking climate where financing is plentiful. All of those covenant on State Street s loan, like
prohibiting two consecutive quarters of net losses and not incur a net loss for any fiscal year, suggest
further that Be Our Guest may need to find another lender who will not be as strict with its terms.
Ultimately, the company must devise a plan for funding its growth long term. While refinanced bank
loans may be adequate to finance the company, it should consider raising funds from selling equity.
Proceeds from such a deal might be invested in a business that generates revenue during Be Our Guest

should approach the bank should be in a way that would allow Be Our Guest be comfortable, specify
its own terms and not let the bank tell them what to do. The company is in good standing in terms of

Governments have over the years been forced to spend massive funds in arresting and detaining criminals who relapse back to the crime the moment they are released. Research according to (BJS, 2014), has proven that within a period of five years, three out of four malefactors who initially were punished for crimes relapse back to similar or different criminal activities. Many nations have already put in place mechanisms to counter this problem in vain. It is for this reason that this unique project has been presented and needs to be handled with the importance and urgency that it deserves. The background of this project is based on an in depth analysis of repeat offending. This entails the factors responsible or contributing to recidivism. Research has proven that most of the repeat malefactors are the kids who were exposed to violence at a very early age, those who did not attain very high levels of education, those who have got minor to serious psychological problems, the unemployed who have some low level education as well as those involved in the abuse of hard drugs. Effectively dealing with this problem thus lies in dealing with these issues. • 4. Empire Vs Persian Empire The Persian empire under the Achaemenid dynasty was one of the largest and most diverse nations to exist during the second wave of civilization. Persia effortlessly exuded wealth and power with its grand structures and far stretching conquest. In total, there was close to 50 million people, all ranging in background, culture, and religion, living under one empire. Ruling over such a large diverse population may pose a problem for a nation in terms of intolerance and ethnic hatred. However, Persia readily adapted to the influx of cultures. Leaders promoted various religious groups, as well as appeasing specific cultural grievances in hopes of gaining trust and loyalty. (96) The Persian empire accomplished a nearly impossible feat for a nation during this era: creating and sustaining an empire with grandeur that lasted for over 220 years. This ... Even though they all lived under one empire and shared a common language and religion, each state was independent which sparked frequent conflict between them. (99) What set Athens a part was its use of democracy. Every citizen had the chance to participate directly in government. This character also set them apart from other empires who ruled with kings. Pericles boasted about this fact during the funeral. He states that their government does not seek the approval of others, but rather acts as a guide for them to follow. Here he can be referring to neighboring states like Sparta or Corinth, and outside empires. His air of superiority over other nations can be due to the fact that this speech was given 50 years after defeating the Persian army for the second time in ten years. This victory made way to radicalization of democracy in Athens. (pg. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Benjamin West s Appreciation Of Affectionate Marriage 1 Samantha Bradfield Dr. Rachel Chantos Art History 25 April 2017 The Commemoration of Affectionate Marriage Benjamin West combines Neoclassicism and a baroque style composition to create a scene greater than an average portrait in Mr. and Mrs. John Custance, 1778. In turn, the content within this theatrical setting illustrates the change of attitude towards marriage during the late eighteenth century England, especially through the interaction of allegories. The 60¼ x 84⅝ oil on canvas painting was created to celebrate the union of John Custance and Frances Beauchamp Proctor. The painting was created the same year the couple was wedded. By the end of the eighteenth century, the concept of marriage had faced various ideological developments, which was indicative of the broader social and economic growth during this period. West takes into account the desire for affectionate marriages rather than ones solely based in economic need through compositional elements and symbolism. During ... The strong compositional elements coupled with Neoclassical and a Baroque stylistic feature indicates the wealth of the subjects but also gives emphasis to the actual union. Without the grandeur style of allegories, the painting would not edge towards the historical painting genre. The combination of Hymen and Cupid is instrumental in developing the theme of the painting and the painting s prestige towards the historical genre. The presentation of the newlyweds with figures from antiquity gives a divine quality to their union. The overall stylistic features mirror the concept of affectionate marriages by merging the meanings of Cupid and Hymen and changing the focus of the painting to the interaction of the couple. West fashions a painting that is morally instructive and reserved, but retains theatricality from the Neoclassical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The increased popularity in railroading led to an increase demand for resources needed in the expansion of the nation s railway system. A few markets that benefited greatly from this demand were those supplying coal and steel. The heavy demand for steel was caused by the need for railroad companies to forge more railway tracks, while the increase demand in coal was used to fuel the locomotives once they were on the tracks. • 27. Epistemological Development Essay example Everything in education is impacted by the perspective of a biblical worldview because educating a child is teaching them to know and find truth. According to Knight, Much truth exists outside of the Bible, but no truth exists outside the metaphysical framework of the Bible. (2006, p. 226). The concepts of the Bible are used to give a unifying foundation for all subjects taught. The Bible also becomes the integration point. All content knowledge is contextually interpreted with the Bible because God is the source of all truth and the one who unifies all truth in Himself. The Bible can be compared to leaven that permeates all subjects. This gives all subjects significance and all subjects then give significance to a child s life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Postmodernism is the rejection of universal truth, logic and reasoning. The view that truth is subjective and personally defined creates a world without a meta narrative or overarching story to give meaning or significance to life. Meta narratives, or stories that give definition to a culture or nation, are power plays based upon deceit, in which leaders use language to create their own interpretation of truth, for the purpose of domination over others. Human beings, as products of an evolutionary system, are going nowhere, and are incapable of knowing or discovering truth. Individuals can only pragmatically create a personal truth with no greater purpose than a truth that works for them (Hoffecker, 2007). Epistemological Development in Middle School Students An important component of a biblical worldview is personal epistemology. An individual s understanding of how knowledge is achieved and truth discovered. As students progress through school, they progress through specific stages of epistemological development, evolving increasingly more sophisticated ways of accepting, justifing and understanding truth. If worldview development is part of cognitive development, then it will be a gradual process by which reasoning becomes more sophisticated and complex. At each stage, children will actively structure and restructure their understanding in a significantly different way. According to Jean Piaget, at sixth grade, a child s ... The Sun God And Hercules Masculinity In Hamlet Due to the death of his father and the remarriage of his mother, Hamlet must now be subservient to his Uncle Claudius, for whom he has no respect. In his soliloquy, Hamlet contrasts his late father with his uncle like a Hyperion to a satyr, [...] My father s brother, but no more like my father than I to Hercules (1.2.140 153). To Hamlet, both Hyperion (the Sun God) and Hercules (a demigod) represent the epitome of strength. In the case of Hercules, he embodies the patriarchal ideal of masculinity violent, dominant, and immortal. He promotes the image that men should be unfeeling, undoubting, and all action and no words. This is the unattainable standard of masculinity that men in Hamlet s society is subject to, since in order to be a Real Man , that would require him to to become a God. ... As a result, the way that others perceive his mental instability is derived from how much he falls short of male social expectations. This vulnerability is triggered by the sudden death of his father, which he vocalizes at his uncle s coronation. Hamlet complains that he wished the Everlasting had not fixed/ His canon gainst self slaughter! (1.2.131 132). In this scenario, death equates inaction, since Hamlet cannot do anything if he kills himself. Supernatural Events In Macbeth Research Paper Sydney Reynolds Smith AP Lang 3/31/15 Supernatural Events in Macbeth William Shakespeare had a common theme of supernatural events and attributes in his plays. This continues in his famous play, Macbeth, where there are four main supernatural events that incite the plot of the play. These metaphysical components add drama and excitement to the play and are the catalysts to Macbeth s tragic hero downfall. The encountering of the witches, the imaginary dagger, Banquo s ghost, and the apparitions all added dramatic elements to the play including foreshadowing, suspense, subconscious thoughts, and plot stimulants. Through the combination of unearthly phenomenon s and mundane characters, Shakespeare creates an imaginative plot that establishes character s true thoughts and causes the characters to act on ideas brought upon by these supernatural projections. The prophesies are presented in a way of greeting Macbeth with, Hail to thee, thane of Glamis! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! and All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! The topic is based on my own experience. In 2010, I suffered a severe laceration of my left arm near the wrist, which, fortunately, was able to be treated and partially relatively quickly. This is part of the reason that I was medically retired from the Army in 2012, for combat related injuries. The ulnar artery of that arm and several interossial tendons were also severed. I suffered a laceration of my arm, which proceeded laterally from the medial aspect of my left wrist. The laceration only reached about halfway across this site, but that was enough to cause major physiopathology in my left hand (primarily). The laceration severed my left ulnar nerve, ulnar artery, and palmar interossei. I immediately lost sensation in the region described above (pinky and medial aspect of ring finger, as well as proximally down my entire hand). Table 14.4 in the textbook illustrates exactly the region affected (McKinley, O Loughlin, Bidle 556). I completely lost motor control of the affected region, as well. I received first aid, and eventually surgeons were able to repair the nerve, ligate the artery ( to tie, as in ligament or ligature ; the artery could not be repaired), and repair the palmar interossei. The reason that I still have a functioning left hand is that both the ulnar and radial arteries supply blood to the hand. As the textbook describes (as if the authors are describing my own situation), If the left ulnar artery were cut, the left hand and fingers could still receive blood via the left radial artery, since both vessels contribute to the superficial and deep palmar arches (McKinley, O Loughlin, Bidle ... Agriculture has undergone an extensive expansion and transformation throughout the last few centuries, beginning with the Industrial Revolution of the late 1700s. New technology allowed for better and greater methods of production. With the development of modern technology, people try to think some way can plant less, get more. Many farmers plant only one crop in the same place year after year. However, those against monocropping claim that it is very hard on the environment and actually less profitable than organic means of farming ( Monoculture Crops Learn About The Effects Of Monocropping ). In addition, the destructive nature of agriculture has recently shown its hand. While our supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants are filled with abundant food options, people forget to ask themselves where all this food comes from. Globalization has opened up economies of scale and has allowed people to tap into different types of products, whether that is food or clothing. But the availability of an increased mass market comes at a cost. However, today, the modern farming techniques have grown into a headache for farmers and governments alike, because they are the consequences of overproduction, industrial waste and other problems arising from the modern methods of agriculture. Thus, modern techniques are harmful to environments, animals, and humans. The one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. The Factors Of Temperature Affects A Tenebrio Molitor s... In this lab, an experiment was done in order to test how the abiotic factor of temperature affects a Tenebrio molitor s activity level. Both experiments conducted consisted of two separate treatment trials; one in a warm environment (25 degrees Celsius) and one in a relatively cold environment (14 degrees Celsius). Results obtained from these experiments both showed a higher level of T. molitor activity in the warm environment as opposed to the cold environment where less activity occurred. In this case, the activity level of a T. molitor was measured by distance travelled (cm) over one minute. Prior to preforming the experiment, the prediction was made; An increase in environmental temperature will lead to an increased activity level of T. molitor. This prediction was made based on the knowledge of T. molitor being ectotherms. This is because temperature has been shown to have a major effect on an ethotherms growth rate and development rate, with higher temperatures being optimal conditions for both these to occur (Van Der Have et al. 1996). Both experiments preformed showed the same trend of increased temperature leading to and increased activity level, thus supporting our prediction. For instance, in experiment 1, T. molitor in the 25 C moved a mean distance of 14.41 cm over 1 minute while moving a mean distance of 4.05 cm over 1 minute in an average environmental temperature of 13.8 C. Likewise, in experiment 2, T. molitor in the 25 C environment moved a mean distance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Managing the process of acquisition correctly is the major challenge to make an acquisition work. A number of different factors that ranges from setting well defined goals to look for circumstances under which it will make sense to walk away must be carefully considered to make a successful acquisition. In order to carry out an acquisition activity one must first understand whether the business is ready for it. A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis can be carried out to assess the condition of the business as it might give a clear direction about how to take maximum advantage of the strengths, resolve weaknesses, exploit opportunities and avoid threats. Another way to understand whether the business is ready for an acquisition is to carrying out a strategic gap analysis. This involves identifying where the business stands now where one wants to see it after a defined period of time. By identifying the gap between the two one can decide whether acquisition is well enough to bridge the gap. However the extent of planning and research that can be done before making an acquisition decision does not always prove to be enough as situations outside of control may arise and one have to be prepared for these risks. Degree of uncertainty and the time and effort that are spent for the deal can in effect damage the performance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
