Rhetorical Analysis Of President Trump s Inauguration Speech
The presidential inauguration speech started off with the new president swearing in, and taking his
oath, then he made his way to the podium where he began his inauguration speech as the 45th
president of the United States of America. In his speech, he went over his plans and goals for his
future term: through him people will regain their political power. He uses pathos, ethos, and logos to
persuade his audience of this. President Trump started off with presenting his views and aspirations
for the country. As he had been saying all throughout his campaign, about rebuilding the Americans a
super power and making it great again. He reaffirmed those ideas for the citizens that he will do as he
promised even though it would be hard. He highlighted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Trump has also pledged to suspend America s intake of Syrian refugees. The topic of health and
addictions was also briefly touched upon saying The crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too
many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential, said Trump. This American
carnage stops right here and stops right now. This statement shows ethos for the people who might be
victims of such crimes in the country. Trump then reassures the people that they are protected and
secure by saying We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every
foreign capital and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.
From this day forward, it s going to be only America first America first. Once again this ethos and he
gives emotion feel that they are going to be protected again. He also referred to the Bible to emphasize
how much potential America has to once again be great as he said The Bible tells us how good and
pleasant it is when God s people live together in unity. We must speak our minds openly, debate our
disagreements honestly but always pursue solidarity. When America is united, America is totally
unstoppable. This aspect of unity that he explains about in the Bible is correct but, not to

The Folly of Fools
The Logic of Deceit and Self Deception in Human Life
Our daily life is effortlessly painted by our ignorance and own deceit and self deception. Our most
prized possession, language, not only strengthens our ability to lie, but also greatly extends it scope.
According to the book The Folly of Fools The Logic of Deceit and Self Deception in Human Life,
written by Robert Trivers, we as humans lie to ourselves to better lie to others. In this book, deceit and
self deception are analyzed from different perspectives of life and different perspectives scientifically.
The main topics discussed are the evolutionary logic of self deception, neurophysiology and levels of
imposed self deception, the psychology of self deception, and self deception and the structure of social
sciences. In the text to follow, I will discuss each category in detail in hopes to better understand why
as humans we are deceitful not only to others, but also to ourselves as well. To begin with, I will
layout a foundation to further understand deceit and self deception by looking at the evolutionary logic
of self deception. We can start by discussing the idea of natural selection. Natural selection refers the
notion that certain individuals leave behind more offspring than others; therefore genetic traits of the
reproductively successful tend to become more common over time. This is relevant because

The Rise Of Civilization And Ancient Civilizations
The rise of civilization has always fascinated people. Since the appearance of anatomically modern
human beings, some one hundred and fifty thousand years ago, the emergence of civilization has been
one of the most important accomplishments of people.
Civilization is defined as an organizing principle that implies common institutions, economic systems,
social structures, and values that extend over space and time (Matthews 3). Some of the things that
make up a civilization are religion, government, arts, writing and language, currency, study of science,
math and medicine as examples. The two earliest known civilizations were Mesopotamia and Egypt.
These two civilizations arose around the same time and coincidentally near one another, near the
Mediterranean Sea. Many similarities and differences exist between these ancient civilizations. In
particular, the religions of these two civilizations are distinguishably different, yet have many concrete
similarities as well.
The religions of Mesopotamia and Egypt are the products of the environment that the people lived in
and their experiences living in it. Because of the harsh and unpredictable nature of their environment,
the religion of the ancient people in Mesopotamia was very pessimistic.
They lived only at the mercy of their gods, who they believed were of great power and controlled the
environment. In ancient Egypt, contrastingly, nature was far more stable and predictable. It was thusly
believed that the gods favored

Evaluation Of The Cross Site Scripting Attacks
A vast array of techniques is implemented to counter the cross site scripting attacks (XSS) that only
seems to increase in number and complexity day by day. However, all the prevention practices to avert
the XSS attacks can be classified based upon the place it is deployed. Validation checks can be setup
at server side, client side or at both end points.
1. Server Side Validation: Before any data is passed to the server or the database, it needs to be
systematically checked and validated to reduce any ambiguity, duplication and inconsistent data. Over
the years, a number of testing tools have been used in the web development industry along with white
box weakness scanners to detect any incoming XSS attacks in the real world. (V. ... Show more

The modified architecture to screen the attacks would intercept all HTML and Scripts the use of this
application proxy. Large volumes of testing data sets collected over time together with the use of
modified testing and scanning techniques enables the developers to build the robust systems that is
able to scan attacks generated and written in Hypertext Preprocessor PHP and other script capable of
generating complex dynamic HTML attacks.
Furthermore, server side validation can be further boosted by the input validation techniques and are
capable of preventing XSS attacks. Bisht, Venkatakrishanan (2008) proposed several techniques to
identify the HTML inputs as an XSS scripts as well as examined various causes a filtering and
validation mechanism fail to identify incoming XSS attacks. A new framework was also proposed that
is capable of identifying and blocking attacks coming in various forms. Called XSS Guard, they works
by dynamically learning the set of scripts that a web application intends to create for any HTML
request. Ponnavaikk , et al., (2008)
Another popular approach to perform server side dynamic XSS identification and prevention
technique is the use of Pearl s taint mode. Sharp, Scott (2002). In this technique, any suspicious
variable is traced and tracked during its life time in the program. Any malicious value is marked if it is
found that its origin is deemed suspicious or is from

Essay about Aboriginal People of Canada
Aboriginal people represent less than 3% of the total population in BC. Yet, they account for more
than 9% of all suicides in BC (Chandler). The numbers of suicides amongst aboriginal youth are even
more alarming nearly one fourth of all youth suicides in BC are committed by aboriginals and more
than half of all aboriginal suicides are committed by youth (Chandler). The fact that indigenous
communities in Canada have the highest rate of suicide of any culturally identifiable group in the
world implies that these alarming statistics may not solely be a result of aboriginal communities
belonging to a minority cultural group. I will attempt to build a speculative hypothesis behind the
significantly high suicide rates amongst aboriginal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory predicts that there are two components to suicide. First off, perception of burdening others
and feeling socially alienated combine to result in the desire to die. However, an individual will not
act on this desire unless he/she has developed a capability to do so. Capability to commit suicide is
developed through habituation from overexposure which perhaps desensitizes the individual to
experiences that are painful. This may be vital in allowing the individual to overcome innate instincts
for survival and prepare him/her to act on the desire to die. Aboriginal people in Canada have
undergone tremendous acculturation and marginalization (failing to acquire and value Aboriginal
values and identity, while also failing to identify with the cultural values of the larger society) which
may be responsible in making them perceive themselves as a burden to others and feel socially
alienated. Such feelings, based on the interpersonal psychological theory, might instil the desire to die.
Habituation and as a result, desensitization to the fear and pain associated with a suicidal experience,
could be occurring due to high rates of suicide in one s community. Thus, the interpersonal
psychological theory provides some insight into aboriginal suicide. However, the picture is incomplete
as this explanation could be applied to suicide amongst patients

Muscle Moment Lab Report
The purpose of the experiment in lab 5 was to see how force and EMG of the muscles would be
affected when the wrist angles were changed. In order to determine how much the myosin and actin
were interacting and how many times the muscle cell was stimulated we had to measure the force.
When the wrist was fully flexed at 90 degrees the muscle was more contracted. Therefore, causing the
sarcomere to be pushed closer together and the zone of overlap to be larger. This causes the myosin
and actin to be on top of each other making it more difficult to have a quality cross bridge formation.
This makes it harder to stimulate the muscle. As we continued to squeeze at different angles the force
would get greater as the angle became more flat. We had the

Critical Thinking and Writing in Criminal Justice
December 13, 2016 Abstract
This paper explores the history of Charleston Southern University located in the heart of the
Lowcountry in Charleston, South Carolina. With its core Christian values, Charleston Southern
achieves an atmosphere that most universities cannot. The history of this school can be pinpointed
back to 1964 when it was initially founded (University History and Milestones, 2015). The early years
were fairly rough, with low enrollment rates and very few majors being offered (Joslin, Merkling,
Strubel, 2014). However, the university went through countless changes that drove it to be the
successful school that it is today. Now, Charleston Southern University is an academically excellent
school and also a member of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. This school started as
merely an idea and expanded into a thriving university full of thousands of students. ... Show more

Donald Trump s Arguments Against Immigration In The United...
For our new president, Donald trump it has already been a rough start in office and its only been a
couple of weeks. There is not a lot of people that approve of how he s handling is job already. The
biggest action citizens disapprove of is the travel restrictions and most people say it is an attempt to
ban Muslims from entering the US. Another action that is highly disapproved is The Wall which will
be between the US and Mexico. The citizens of the US are very divided on whether this will make the
US a safer place and protects us from terrorism. Most voters think President Trump s executive order
on immigration is better described as a restriction on terrorist than as a Muslim ban. This level of

But I do understand that public opinion polls play an important role in politics. They are used
throughout the course of election campaigns by candidates and by the media to see which candidates
are ahead and who is likely to emerge victorious. The results of these polls, in turn, largely determine
where future campaign monies are to be spent and where each candidate s efforts will be concentrated
until the close of the campaign. My political opinion is influenced by public opinion because, knowing
the role of the candidates and how they act is a huge part when it comes to voting on election day.

Analyzing Epicurus Letter To Menoecceous
In Letter to Menoecceous, Epicurus outlines the view that life should be and is about maximizing ones
own pleasure. Epicurus importantly notes that pleasure is not necessarily one of a lavish lifestyle, but
where pain is absent in body and soul (Epicurus (1), p. 32). This overarching notion filters into his
ethical philosophies; in the way that one is and should be just while maintaining the aim of
maximizing pleasure. This essay aims to explain the reasons behind Epicurus view that one s life can
maintain justice while focusing on pleasure.
Epicurus empathizes being just does not disrupt the aim to maximize pleasure by defining justice and
thus claiming that lack of restriction would increase suffering and outweigh the good so, in order

Drug Use And The Therapeutic Treatment Of Drug Addiction
I. Hypothesis
It commonly believed that over time, the effects of drug related cues increases the efficacy of relapse.
To this end, the researchers are looking to key brain chemicals to aid in the therapeutic treatment of
drug addiction. A main concern is how can drug related cues be counteracted or reduced in patients
prone to relapse. In one study, investigators found that drug use and relapse involves learned
associations between drug associated discrete and contextual cues and drug taking... (Bossert,
Marchant, Calu, Shaham, 2013). This is further corroborated by data suggesting with repeated drug
use, an attentional bias occurs (Jasinska, Stein, Kaiser, Naumer, Yalachkov, 2014). As a result, drug
cues take over perceptual, cognitive and memory processes. This produces a priming effect,
essentially putting the addict in a state of drug seeking readiness. We predict that when presented with
certain contextual cues associated with drug use, they will trigger a drug seeking response in drug
addicted individuals when compared to the control. We also theorize that time of day will have an
effect on the intensity of the drug seeking response.
II. Methodology
A. Subjects
We will recruit 30 individuals currently seeking drug treatment for cocaine addiction for a two day
study, ages 18 to 50, from local Narcotics Anonymous (NA) groups. The recruits will be from a cross

Essay Analysis of The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost
In the Robert Frost poem The Road Not Taken there is a pervasive and in many ways intrinsic sense of
journey throughout. In such, the poem explores an aspect associated with human decision, or
indecision, relative to the oxymoron, that choices with the least the difference should bear the most
indifference, but realistically, carry the most difficulty. This is conveyed through the use of several
pivotal techniques. Where the first such instance is the use of an extended metaphor, where the poem
as a whole becomes a literary embodiment of something more, the journey of life. The second
technique used is the writing style of first person. Where in using this, the reader can depict a clear
train of thought from the walker and understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wherein this is the extent of the metaphor, where in this poem it is a changeable anomaly subject to
the readers interpretation of taking the road less travelled and whether it be a positive (sigh of
satisfaction) or negative (sigh of regret). This is all one can hope when using a metaphor relating to
the readers life, that they substitute their own feelings and create their own meaning, their own attitude
towards to such decisions and subsequently, such journeys. Furthermore, we have the use of first
person, where the almost universal effect is to have an in depth look into the character and their
immediate response to a problem or dilemma. This poem no different, where in the first stanza we are
ushered in with the use of anaphora in lines 2, 3 and 4 with the repetition of the word and . This
specific use of anaphora is used to create the mindset and intelligible deduction of the traveller to the
events and dilemma prescribed to him. Insofar as his immediate reaction be being presented with a
choice. It shows his reaction of regret in that he is sorry he could not travel both and explains what he
wish he could do be two travellers but also how he initiates his decision making process looked down
one as far as I could . Also, the use of first person is used to connect with the reader, enforcing the
affore used notion that the reader substitutes their own personal truth into a positive

Conceptually consistent programs within behavior analysis are those programs that use the principles
of operant learning theory. Sensory integration and mindfulness therapies are not conceptually
consistent with the principles of behavior analysis.
Behavior analysts should be aware of the values their clients have. The behavior analyst should be

The Fantasies of Don Quixote Essay
The Fantasies of Don Quixote
Don Quixote lived in a fantasy world of chivalry. Chivalry had negative and
positive effects on the lives of the people. Don Quixote emphasizes a cross section of
Spanish life, thought, and feeling at the end of chivalry. Don Quixote has been called
the best novel in the world, and it cannot be compared to any other novel. Don
Quixote has been described as that genial and just judge of imposture, folly, vanity,
affectation, and insincerity; that tragic picture of the brave man born out of his
time, too proud and too just to be of use in his age (Putnam, 15).

Don Quixote was a Spanish knight about fifty years old. His real name was Alonso Quijano. He lived
in the village of La Mancha with his neice, his house
keeper, and a handy man. He gave up hunting and taking care of his estate to satisfy
his passion of reading books of chivalry. He had a large collection of romances of
chivalry and in the end they turned his brain. His mind became weak from his
reading his many romances of chivalry (Samuel, 57). His mind became stuffed with
fantasy accounts of tournaments, knightly quests, damsels or women in distress, and
strange enchantments (Grossvogel, 89). His high spirit and his courage never failed
him, but his illusions led him into trouble. Warddropper says, Don Quixote s
madness is not the result of unrequited passion. It is the result of reading too many
books of chivalry. He is a knight gone mad from a platonic love (Warddropper,
136).
One day he decided to imitate the heroes of the books he had read and to
revive the ancient custom of knight erranty. Don believed that he had been called to
become a knight errant (Putnam, 63). Nothing would satisfy him but that he must

Song Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees
The Secret Life of Bees, takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina. Lily Owens
is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys herself
believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused that caused
her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned T. Ray and her.
She is now at a different conundrum and believes her mother should be hoping she ll forgive her
instead of her mother forgiving her. She learns form the Boatrights that she needs to come to piece
with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how Mary comes to piece
when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own trials and hardships but we
also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh Garrels sings the song, Farther
Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a somber tone to the song. I wondered why
the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries because he loves em both . This phrase tells me
how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying because a good man died, or because one of his
children has fallen far off track, but he is crying for them both. He loves them both. There s much
more to life than we ve been told it s full of beauty that will unfold . Life is full of ugliness and
hardships. This proclaims that there is more than all of that and we will all one day see this beauty

IMEI and UDID are the unique ID of a user s phone. Access to IMEI/UDID is a major concern as well
as it ad networks and application developers can get in depth view of users by creating a complete
profile of a user across multiple apps combined with other over collected data (Li et al. 2016, 1342).
Data Collection and Public Awareness
The apps used today often collect data more than needed for its functionality (Li et al. 2016, p.1340).
Often these apps track the user location, access the photos, address books, access calendar and track
IMEI/UDID without users notice (Li et al. 2016, 1340). A report by appthority shows that 24 percent
of the top iOS paid apps track users location. Whereas, 82 percent of the top Android free apps and 49

p.28) studied 1,100 Android apps, and found that half of these apps exposed location data to third

The Negative Effects Of The NBA Salary Cap
In one of the most profitable industries in America, the National Basketball Association has increased
in popularity and in revenue since their incorporation. With these growths, stardom and income have
increased exponentially for the players. As the value of the players have risen, the salary cap has
followed. Although the salary cap has risen, star players continue to feel like they are worth more on
the free market than they are being paid. LeBron James, for example, is invaluable to the NBA s
bottom line. Yet, because of the salary cap, he gets paid around the same as Grizzly s guard Mike
Conley who is not considered a top five point guard in the NBA. Although the NBA salary cap is in

If the NBA was to follow Major League Baseball s path and not have a salary cap, we would see super

than LeBron James impact. Per Spotrac s payroll tracker, there were three teams in the MLB who
were below league average in payroll and still made the playoffs. In the NBA there are currently eight
teams below average salary who are in playoff contention. As players are more valuable to teams in
the NBA, the salary cap is more important to talent distribution. As there are benefits to the current

Background:
Currently, quality of life (QOL) as a measure of individuals subjective feelings on various aspects of

Assynt Geography
Assynt is a region in the south west of Sutherland, a county in the Highlands of Scotland. It is
characterised by water logged grasslands on much of the landscape, as well as large rocky mountains
dominating the sky. To the east of the northern road, there is a zone of imbricates created by the sole
thrust, indicating beginning of the Moine thrust complex. This sole thrust is also visible around the
Skiag bridge area and also by Ardveck castle. The area has been of particular interest for geologists
since the early 20th century, due to the wide range of rocks and processes that are present. For
example, the ages of the rocks in the area vary from Lewisian Gneiss of Archean age, all the way up to
the relatively recent Ordovician Durness limestone group, covering a vast portion of our planets
history. The more recent formations are not found within the mapping area, and are more prominent in
the east, and the Durness limestones have a much larger area of outcrops in the north, surrounding the
village of Durness along the coast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, the peaks of Quinag rise high above the area at up to 808m. As the area is in Scotland, and

landscape that we see today, creating glacial till deposits and U shaped valleys that can be seen

Two Other Philosophers, John Locke, And George Berkeley
Two other philosophers, John Locke, and George Berkeley have shown similar theories to the
discussion from the ideas presented by Plato. Unlike Plato who argues that we cannot determine what
is true or real based on experience, Locke argues that all knowledge which we use to determine what
is true or real comes from experience. And similar to Plato, Berkeley argues that only our ideas are the
only thing that is real. Locke also argues in his essay that knowledge is not something people are born
with. Locke differs from Plato, because Plato believes we do not know the true or ideal state of
something. This is so because on Earth the physical realm, we only experience shadows , or
reflections of the perfect ideal objects we have in our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Locke s second point in his argument is that knowledge comes from the senses and how we perceive
the world. This means that all the knowledge society has acquired comes from the observations and
reasoning people have made based on their perceptions. In his essay, Locke presents the idea of two
fountains of knowledge. These fountains of knowledge is where all the ideas that we can have have
come from. The first fountain of knowledge is sensation, which involves all the five senses of the
human body. It is because of sensation we have ideas such as hot, the color orange, sweet, and bright.
The second fountain of knowledge is experience, which helps explain the things we perceive from the
first sense, such as reasoning, thinking, and knowing. Locke then separates experience into two
categories, primary and secondary qualities. Primary qualities are qualities that an object can have
without us needing to sense it such as size of an object or the way it is moving. An object will already
have these qualities regardless if a person recognizes them or not. Secondary qualities are the other
qualities such as color, or the sound an object makes when it hits the floor. These our qualities that
exist in our mind, not qualities that an object has already on its own. A great example is wine. When it
comes to wine many people have different experiences on how a wine tastes. Imagine one bottle of
wine that is sampled by two different

Costa Rica-Personal Narrative
I have had the opportunity to live in both Montana and Costa Rica, both which are synonymous with
anything that might encompass the thoughts of adventure, environment and the outdoors. So much so,
that their economy is centralized around eco tourism. I always had Glacier National Park, the Bob
Marshal Wilderness and Corcovado National Park right at my footsteps do to my father being a
wildlife biologist. Around the time I was 6 years old we were living in a small town in the mountains
of Costa Rica the towns name was Montverde. I did not have friends or a street to ride my bike, what I
had was an imagination that ran wild. We lived in the middle of the clouded rainforest where wild
hogs and tapirs would surround the house and even rub their bodies up again the outside of my
bedroom, it was not uncommon to come across a recently shedded skin of a boa constrictor or chase
out tarantulas the size of a adult s hand from the house. To me this lifestyle was normal, I had not
experienced much difference in other places where we lived. I remember vividly walking to

Citizen Kane And The American Dream
Citizen Kane and the American Dream No one can sum up a man s life into one word. This was a
thought intriguingly an idea in the film that still resonates today in our society. Citizen Kane (1941) is
an important film that reflected society s false belief of the American Dream during its time. The film
was directed and starred by Orson Welles and tells a story of a man name Charles Foster Kane, who
had everything and who lived an ideal life that everyone wanted to have. However, having many fine
possessions of things and a great deal amount of money at his disposal, did not make him happy. The
film reflects on Mr. Kane s life before his death and his legacy. Citizen Kane shows how during the
era, people wanted to have financial security, happiness and to gain material success. Although the
American Dream is still something people want today, Citizen Kane shows how attaining the
American Dream was something less of a dream during its era. The film also show the changes of the
American Dream from dream to myth and explores the dark side of the held belief. The term
American Dream was first coined in 1931 by James Truslow Adams. The term is defined as, anyone in
America can gain wealth and status as long as he or she worked hard, regardless of their social status.
For instance, in one of the most significant scene, it showed a young Charles Foster Kane playing
outside in the snow with his sled, while his mother watches him from inside the boarding house. In

Thesis on Infant Mortality
1
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Children are vital to the nation s present and its future. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are
usually committed to providing every advantage possible to the children in their families, and to
ensuring that they are healthy and have the opportunities that they need to fulfill their potential. Yet
communities vary considerably in their commitment to the collective health of children and in the
resources that they make available to meet children s needs. This is reflected in the ways in which
communities address their collective commitment to children, specifically to their health. In recent
years, there has been an increased focus on issues that affect children and on improving their health. ...

Hot Coffee, By Susan Saladoff
Homework Assignment I: Hot Coffee The movie, Hot Coffee , is a documentary film that was created
by Susan Saladoff in 2011 that analyzes the impact of the tort reform on the United States judicial
system. The title and the basis of the film is derived from the Liebeck v. McDonald s restaurants
lawsuit where Liebeck had burned herself after spilling hot coffee purchased from McDonald s into
her lap. The film features four different suits that may involve the tort reform. This film included
many comments from politicians and celebrities about the case. There were also several myths and
misconceptions on how Liebeck had spilled the coffee and how severe the burns were to her. One of
the myths was that many people thought she was driving when she spilled the coffee on herself and
that she suffered only minor burns, while in truth she suffered severe burns and needed surgery. This
case is portrayed in the film as being used and misused to describe in conjunction with tort reform
efforts. The film explained how corporations have spent millions of dollars deforming tort cases in
order to promote tort reform. So in the film Hot Coffee it uses the case, Liebeck v. McDonalds, as an
example of large corporations trying to promote the tort reform, in which has many advantages and
disadvantages to the United States judicial system. The tort reform is often proposed by the
Republican Party in which it changes the civil judicial system that aims to reduce the ability of

The Human Papillomavirus And Its Effects On The United States
The human papillomavirus remains one of the highest common sexually transmitted infections in the
United States. The human papillomavirus dates back to the nineteen hundreds. Scientists during the
nineteen hundreds did not comprehend on why people who had sexually transmitted infections also
had cancer. It was not until the nineteen eighties, that a scientist discovered that the human papilloma
virus caused cancer (Preventing Cervical Cancer). Moreover the human papillomavirus causes genital

Henceforth only four thousand women die annually of cervical cancer. At the present time, the HPV
vaccine has the possibility to eradicate cervical cancer. Furthermore, he HPV vaccine will not only
save lives annually, but it will also reduce sexually transmitted infections.
The HPV vaccine should be required on the grounds that it will reduce sexually transmitted infections
in the United States. The human papillomavirus is spread and contracted through sexual intercourse.
Around twenty million people have the human papillomavirus in the United States (Creel). An
abundance of people do not realize that they have been infected by the human papillomavirus since it
has no symptoms, thus making the virus dangerous. If a person has the human papilloma virus and
does not acquire treatment, it can lead to cancer or genital warts. Women might learn if they have
contracted the human papilloma virus if they have a Pap smear test done. Unfortunately, men are not
able to know if they have the virus unless they develop genital warts or cancer. Research shows that
the HPV vaccine, produces a strong immune response when tested (Creel). If a person decides to
receive the vaccine when required and is ever exposed to the virus the chances of contracting the virus
are extremely low. As of today, studies show that both HPV vaccines can reduce the risk of
contracting cancer and genital warts

French Calendar Dbq Essay
France was a country plagued by debt, corruption, and an extremely large gap between each
socioeconomic group. With these troubles, the loss of Louis XIV, and the indecisiveness of Louis
XVI, France underwent a violent revolution; one that left its citizens blood poured over the ruins of
France. The adoption of the revolutionary calendar in France took place on November 24th, 1793, by
the push of the National Convention. The new calendar survived until it was abolished by Napoleon in
1806. This revolutionary calendar was created in attempt to break free of the dogma of a feeling
government, but it failed to converge with the desires of the working class. The French Republican
calendar was largely unsupported due to anti tradition by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to the head of the calendar reform committee, Gilbert Romme, the Gregorian calendar tied
France to their retired monarchy (Document 1). Between late 1793 and mid 1794, there was a period
of explosive violence in France known as the Reign of Terror. The Reign of Terror occurred after the
onset of the French Revolution and was marked by mass executions of the enemies of the revolution.
During 1794, the French Republic was engaged in a series of wars, and factions of France were
engaged in civil war against the loyalist regime. This statement given by Romme may be slightly
biased, as he was the head of creating the new calendar. Or, perhaps, the convention was merely
seeking for a bandage for the bloodshed. There were groups who agreed and disagreed with the
Republic calendar. Among the opposing, there was Abbe Sieyes. Sieyes expressed the belief that it
was unwise to adopt a new calendar because the Gregorian calendar was a French connection with
neighboring countries (Document 2). Sieyes advocated the abandonment of the three estates and the
formation of a single chamber of the National Assembly. Sieyes also wrote The Third Estate, a series
of pamphlets that outlined his frustrations of the class of people that made up the third estate. In many
senses, he was the force that revealed the fraudulent nobility and exposed the

Intrusion Detection Systems And Data Fusion
In this part we will talk more deeply about this intrusion detection systems and data fusion.
Coming to intrusion detection systems it is defined as the problem of detecting the intruders who are
accessing the company s networks or systems without authorization. ID systems are categorized as:
1. Signature based detection: In this type the detection is based on signature or pattern of attacks
because any attack is targeted on vulnerabilities of a system
2. Anomaly based detection: In this type detection is based on looking for the anomalous behavior
based on reviewing the audit files and log files.

The ideal characteristics of an Intrusion detection system are:
It must work continually with minimal human interference
It must be error free by being able to recover from system crashes, either accidental or by malicious
activity.
Upon startup, the intrusion detection system must be able to recover its previous state and resume its
operation unaffected.
It must resist subversion. The intrusion detection system should be automated by monitoring itself
weather it has been compromised by an intruder
It must impose a minimal overhead on the system where it is running, to avoid interfering with the
system s normal operation.
It must be configurable according to the security policies of the system that is being monitored.
It must be adaptable over time to the advances. For example, new applications being installed, users
changing from one activity to another or new resources being available can cause changes in system
use patterns.
As the number of systems to be monitored increases and the chances of attacks increase we also
consider the following characteristics as desirable:
It must be scalable to monitor a large number of hosts while providing results in a timely and accurate
manner.
It must provide graceful degradation of service. If some components of the intrusion detection system
stop working for any reason, the rest of them should be affected as little as possible.
It must allow dynamic reconfiguration, allowing the

The Absurd
The Absurd: What then is implied by the idea of the Absurd? In spite of the view passed on by pop
culture, the Absurd, in any event not what Camus had expressed, that it doesn t just allude to some
dubious discernment that current life is full of mysteries, incoherencies, and scholarly disarray. Rather,
as he accentuates and tries to clarify, the Absurd communicates an essential disharmony, a deplorable
contrariness, in our reality. As a result, he contends that the Absurd is the result of an impact or
showdown between our human yearning for request, which means, and reason in life and the clear,
impassive quiet of the universe : The crazy is not in man nor on the planet, but rather in their nearness
together... it is the main bond joining them. (The Myth of Sisyphus, Chapter 2, Absurd Walls) The
Revolt: The buddy subject to the Absurd in Camus oeuvre is Revolt. What is revolt? Essentially
characterized, it is the Sisyphean soul of insubordination even with the Absurd. All the more in fact

we found this country. Our founding fathers would have technically been a dreamer. It is wrong for the
United States to make some people, who are under the statue of DACA, leave when it was not their

Blue Collar Brilliance By Mike Rose
The articles Blue Collar Brilliance written by Mike Rose and Are Too Many People Going to College?
by Charles Murray discuss the importance of education and its outcomes. Both authors talk about
people s careers on the aspect of whether a college degree made them succeed in life or it is just an
expensive waste of time. Also, each article has its own opinion over the fact that some people with
college education aren t able to find jobs while others with no college background are able to succeed.
Rose and Murray, both agreed on the idea that college isn t for all just simply because of its cost, and
how each person s intelligence does not depend on their acceptance to a college; further, both authors
also acknowledge the importance of blue collar workers and their prosperity. First, Mike Rose starts
making references on how some people can t afford a college education and through this, they believe
that they don t need to get a degree in order to work or learn something different; those who can t go
to college, look for any possible way of getting an education that could help them discover a different
path for their life. Different levels of intelligence and particular talents set people apart and make them
unique in their own way which help them to carry on with their life. On the other hand, Charles
Murray addresses that now, high school students have a new approach about getting a college
education. They now believe that getting a B.A. would guarantee them a job and

Does Equality Still Exist Today
Today we live in a world where achieving equality seems to be a highly debated topic regardless of
where you go. Since our country was founded we have progressed in the sense that we have
established laws that prohibit us from viewing women as inferior to men in the workplace and thus
forcing us to give the same opportunities to both men and women alike. So then we are left with the
question; why does this inequality still exist today? It can be best explained as there are still
individuals within our society than believe certain gender roles foster a better society. Utah

Analysis Of James Joyce s The Dead And Araby
The unwanting desire to face reality and confront the isolation in which one is living is a struggle that
both Gabriel and a little boy encounter. Jame Joyce s works portray his characters to display both
inner struggles and difficulty being socially accepted. During the party, Gabriel is anxious and nervous
because he wants to uphold this reputation of a confident man. Therefore, he creates a script allowing
him to have a sense control and comfort which he lacks. In Contrast, the little boy perceives himself to

However, as Gretta was listening to The Lass of Aughrim being played Gabriel stood still and began

idea that he is starting to understand the internal beauty of his muse, Gretta. Adding on, every painter
starts with a blank canvas so Gabriel can ignore her mistakes and paint her without flaws, depicting
Gretta perfect. Gabriel s need to be accepted by this perfect woman is important to him because

and minimise the frequency of service interruption. Ebeling (1997) concluded that availability is the
important index of the all indices for power availability. Several maintenance types or tactics have
been suggested by many authors for example (Mowbray, 1991 and Kelly, 1997). There are mainly two
types of maintenance practices and these are breakdown and preventive maintenance. Breakdown
maintenance requires replacement of damaged part of the equipment during unscheduled maintenance
while preventive maintenance requires replacement of the components at pre determined intervals.
Condition based maintenance is used to monitor the condition of the equipment using condition
monitoring technique.
There is a general belief that corrective maintenance is less economical than preventive maintenance,
and all failures can then be prevented. This approach to preventive maintenance firstly wastes a lot of
resources in doing unnecessary tasks which will not improve equipment or system availability and
secondly it is potentially risk (Tsang,1995).Principal argument in favour of detailed and integrated

In his speech, he went over his plans and goals for his future term: through him people will regain their political power. He uses pathos, ethos, and logos to persuade his audience of this. President Trump started off with presenting his views and aspirations for the country. As he had been saying all throughout his campaign, about rebuilding the Americans a super power and making it great again. He reaffirmed those ideas for the citizens that he will do as he promised even though it would be hard. He highlighted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trump has also pledged to suspend America s intake of Syrian refugees. The topic of health and addictions was also briefly touched upon saying The crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential, said Trump. • 4. The Rise Of Civilization And Ancient Civilizations The rise of civilization has always fascinated people. Since the appearance of anatomically modern human beings, some one hundred and fifty thousand years ago, the emergence of civilization has been one of the most important accomplishments of people. Civilization is defined as an organizing principle that implies common institutions, economic systems, social structures, and values that extend over space and time (Matthews 3). Some of the things that make up a civilization are religion, government, arts, writing and language, currency, study of science, math and medicine as examples. The two earliest known civilizations were Mesopotamia and Egypt. These two civilizations arose around the same time and coincidentally near one another, near the Mediterranean Sea. Many similarities and differences exist between these ancient civilizations. In particular, the religions of these two civilizations are distinguishably different, yet have many concrete similarities as well. Evaluation Of The Cross Site Scripting Attacks A vast array of techniques is implemented to counter the cross site scripting attacks (XSS) that only seems to increase in number and complexity day by day. However, all the prevention practices to avert the XSS attacks can be classified based upon the place it is deployed. Validation checks can be setup at server side, client side or at both end points. 1. Server Side Validation: Before any data is passed to the server or the database, it needs to be systematically checked and validated to reduce any ambiguity, duplication and inconsistent data. The numbers of suicides amongst aboriginal youth are even more alarming nearly one fourth of all youth suicides in BC are committed by aboriginals and more than half of all aboriginal suicides are committed by youth (Chandler). I will attempt to build a speculative hypothesis behind the significantly high suicide rates amongst aboriginal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theory predicts that there are two components to suicide. First off, perception of burdening others and feeling socially alienated combine to result in the desire to die. However, an individual will not act on this desire unless he/she has developed a capability to do so. Capability to commit suicide is developed through habituation from overexposure which perhaps desensitizes the individual to experiences that are painful. This may be vital in allowing the individual to overcome innate instincts for survival and prepare him/her to act on the desire to die. Aboriginal people in Canada have undergone tremendous acculturation and marginalization (failing to acquire and value Aboriginal values and identity, while also failing to identify with the cultural values of the larger society) which may be responsible in making them perceive themselves as a burden to others and feel socially alienated. Such feelings, based on the interpersonal psychological theory, might instil the desire to die. Habituation and as a result, desensitization to the fear and pain associated with a suicidal experience, could be occurring due to high rates of suicide in one s community. Thus, the interpersonal psychological theory provides some insight into aboriginal suicide. However, the picture is incomplete as this explanation could be applied to suicide amongst patients ... In order to determine how much the myosin and actin were interacting and how many times the muscle cell was stimulated we had to measure the force. When the wrist was fully flexed at 90 degrees the muscle was more contracted. Therefore, causing the sarcomere to be pushed closer together and the zone of overlap to be larger. This causes the myosin and actin to be on top of each other making it more difficult to have a quality cross bridge formation. This makes it harder to stimulate the muscle. To this end, the researchers are looking to key brain chemicals to aid in the therapeutic treatment of drug addiction. A main concern is how can drug related cues be counteracted or reduced in patients prone to relapse. In one study, investigators found that drug use and relapse involves learned associations between drug associated discrete and contextual cues and drug taking... (Bossert, Marchant, Calu, Shaham, 2013). This is further corroborated by data suggesting with repeated drug use, an attentional bias occurs (Jasinska, Stein, Kaiser, Naumer, Yalachkov, 2014). As a result, drug cues take over perceptual, cognitive and memory processes. This produces a priming effect, essentially putting the addict in a state of drug seeking readiness. We predict that when presented with certain contextual cues associated with drug use, they will trigger a drug seeking response in drug addicted individuals when compared to the control. We also theorize that time of day will have an effect on the intensity of the drug seeking response. II. Methodology A. In such, the poem explores an aspect associated with human decision, or indecision, relative to the oxymoron, that choices with the least the difference should bear the most indifference, but realistically, carry the most difficulty. This is conveyed through the use of several pivotal techniques. Where the first such instance is the use of an extended metaphor, where the poem as a whole becomes a literary embodiment of something more, the journey of life. And similar to Plato, Berkeley argues that only our ideas are the only thing that is real. Locke also argues in his essay that knowledge is not something people are born with. Locke s second point in his argument is that knowledge comes from the senses and how we perceive the world. This means that all the knowledge society has acquired comes from the observations and reasoning people have made based on their perceptions. In his essay, Locke presents the idea of two fountains of knowledge. These fountains of knowledge is where all the ideas that we can have have come from. The first fountain of knowledge is sensation, which involves all the five senses of the human body. It is because of sensation we have ideas such as hot, the color orange, sweet, and bright. The second fountain of knowledge is experience, which helps explain the things we perceive from the first sense, such as reasoning, thinking, and knowing. Locke then separates experience into two categories, primary and secondary qualities. Primary qualities are qualities that an object can have without us needing to sense it such as size of an object or the way it is moving. An object will already have these qualities regardless if a person recognizes them or not. Secondary qualities are the other qualities such as color, or the sound an object makes when it hits the floor. • 28. Citizen Kane And The American Dream Citizen Kane and the American Dream No one can sum up a man s life into one word. This was a thought intriguingly an idea in the film that still resonates today in our society. Citizen Kane (1941) is an important film that reflected society s false belief of the American Dream during its time. The film was directed and starred by Orson Welles and tells a story of a man name Charles Foster Kane, who had everything and who lived an ideal life that everyone wanted to have. However, having many fine possessions of things and a great deal amount of money at his disposal, did not make him happy. The film reflects on Mr. Kane s life before his death and his legacy. Citizen Kane shows how during the era, people wanted to have financial security, happiness and to gain material success. Although the American Dream is still something people want today, Citizen Kane shows how attaining the American Dream was something less of a dream during its era. The film also show the changes of the American Dream from dream to myth and explores the dark side of the held belief. The term American Dream was first coined in 1931 by James Truslow Adams. The term is defined as, anyone in America can gain wealth and status as long as he or she worked hard, regardless of their social status. For instance, in one of the most significant scene, it showed a young Charles Foster Kane playing outside in the snow with his sled, while his mother watches him from inside the boarding house. Hot Coffee, By Susan Saladoff Homework Assignment I: Hot Coffee The movie, Hot Coffee , is a documentary film that was created by Susan Saladoff in 2011 that analyzes the impact of the tort reform on the United States judicial system. The title and the basis of the film is derived from the Liebeck v. McDonald s restaurants lawsuit where Liebeck had burned herself after spilling hot coffee purchased from McDonald s into her lap. The film features four different suits that may involve the tort reform. This film included many comments from politicians and celebrities about the case. There were also several myths and misconceptions on how Liebeck had spilled the coffee and how severe the burns were to her. One of the myths was that many people thought she was driving when she spilled the coffee on herself and that she suffered only minor burns, while in truth she suffered severe burns and needed surgery. This case is portrayed in the film as being used and misused to describe in conjunction with tort reform efforts. The film explained how corporations have spent millions of dollars deforming tort cases in order to promote tort reform. So in the film Hot Coffee it uses the case, Liebeck v. The adoption of the revolutionary calendar in France took place on November 24th, 1793, by the push of the National Convention. The new calendar survived until it was abolished by Napoleon in 1806. Between late 1793 and mid 1794, there was a period of explosive violence in France known as the Reign of Terror. The Reign of Terror occurred after the onset of the French Revolution and was marked by mass executions of the enemies of the revolution. During 1794, the French Republic was engaged in a series of wars, and factions of France were engaged in civil war against the loyalist regime. This statement given by Romme may be slightly biased, as he was the head of creating the new calendar. Or, perhaps, the convention was merely seeking for a bandage for the bloodshed. There were groups who agreed and disagreed with the Republic calendar. Among the opposing, there was Abbe Sieyes. Sieyes expressed the belief that it was unwise to adopt a new calendar because the Gregorian calendar was a French connection with neighboring countries (Document 2). Sieyes advocated the abandonment of the three estates and the formation of a single chamber of the National Assembly.
