Effects Of Mung Bean Starch On Rice Noodles Quality
Criticizing Effects of Mung Bean Starch on Rice Noodles Quality
In Effect of mung bean starch on quality of rice noodles made by direct dry flour extrusion Wu, Meng,
Yang et al. (2015) focus on developing a better understanding of the influences of mung bean starch
(MS) on the physiochemical properties of rice flour (RF) and quality of rice noodles produced by the
direct dry flour extrusion; as well as test possible corporation of rice flour (RF) and MS fractions into
rice noodles to improve its quality. First of all, Wu et al. analyzed the substituted rice flour samples.
The rice flour samples were prepared in four difference MS substitutions, 0%, 2%, 5% and 8% for
experimentations. With increase MS content in the mixture, the results showed increase in amylose
content, rate of retrogradation, pasting stability, and strength of the gel, but decline in swelling power
and solubility. The authors pointed out corporation of MS and RF significantly influenced the
physicochemical properties of rice noodle mixture, which desirable for rice noodle making. This
phenomenon results rice noodles were positively affected by these changes as well, including
decreased cooking time, loss rate and broken rate. Also, based on the texture properties and sensory
evaluation, elevating MS content contributed to better texture and overall acceptance of rice noodles,
but authors also point out, after 5% MS substitution, the rate of quality improvements were decreased.

Lascia Ch Io Pianga Analysis Essay
The analysis of the aria Lascia ch io pianga by Haendel according to the thorough bass method, shows
us how the composer refer in this piece to the typical compositional procedures of baroque music. The
aria starts with a pedal (frame, according to Joel Lester s terminology) followed by a cadence
harmonized according the regle de l octave both in ascending and descending motion (MM. 5 8). The
second episode starting at M. 8 consists of a sequence, precisely a modified sequence, in which the
subsequent is slightly modified at the end introducing a new harmony on the second beat of M. 12 that
leads to a final cadence with a modulation to the original key. The regle is always working also in the
sequence, it is just applied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Lascia ch io pianga is possible to understand all the harmonies as fifths and sevenths but the bass
line motion not always moves naturally by fifths and fourths. In many cases, through the use of the
double emploi, is has been possible to correct some irregular motions into fifth motion, but still for
some of them it hasn t been possible. Probably the most evident example is the motion by second
occurring between MM. 6 and 7, and between MM. 11 and 12. The fundamental bass analysis bring
into play notes that are supposed, that are not in the score but affect the music as the roots of a tree
feed the last leaf on the highest branch. In this case, we can see how the sense of motion that we
perceive listening to this aria is perfectly explained and justified by the succession of seventh chord
and fifth chord, as the epitome of the arsi tesi feeling in music.
Even in the first two measures, that look really simple in the thorough bass analysis, we can still
discover something that makes this beginning not so obvious. In the first measure the F is transformed
into D with a seventh chord on top, and the accumulation of this seventh with the next one in the
second measure create a sense of instability and a need to resolve. In the next measures this tension
will be released through a succession of 5 chord with two final combinations 7 5 to close the

A Separate Peace Act 1 Scene 1 Analysis
The scene I have chosen is a bit more than midway through the book, page 180 exactly. I chose this
excerpt because I believe it is a true display of thematic ideas of manipulation and politics, with a
small touch on the theme of religion. This passage is all about Rasputin s political power through ties
to the royal family and his skill in manipulation. In this passage, Rasputin is attempting to instate a
friend, Alexander Protopopov, the Duma s vice president, as minister of interior. Of course he need to
get the tsar Nicholas II to approve this, so Rasputin started with asking the empress
Backtracking a bit, because preceding this excerpt, there were large amounts of political leapfrogging
in 1916, lots of events tied to the theme of politics. Ministers of different departments were fired, re
assigned, or hired for no reason, which left the minister of interior position open for Rasputin to secure
for Protopopov. Now Protopopov was a respectable nobleman, charming statesman, and veteran,
which made it all the easier for Rasputin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only three months past and Nicholas had Protopopov made the new minister of interior. Once again,
Rasputin had his way. God bless your new choice of Protopopov, Alexandra exclaimed. Our Friend
says you have done a very wise act in naming him . This quote is obviously tied to the themes of
religion, politics AND manipulation. Rasputin manipulates Alexandra into believing what he does, and
into telling Nicholas II that by listening to her (thus Rasputin) choice in political figures, the tsar was
approved by God, an idea that Nicholas II could draw the conclusion that as long as he listens to his
wife(a.k.a. Gregory Rasputin) he will always be right by the Church. It s ironic that the author uses
rather sophisticated language due to that Rasputin, though he appears to be a flamboyant monk with
too much love for alcohol, is an intelligent, deceiving

The New York City Police Department Essay
In the 1990s, the growth of violent crime reached its all time high in New York City. In response to the
number of high murder rates in the 1990s, the New York City Police Department realized that their
efforts to reduce crime were ineffective. The local news reported that New Yorkers were afraid to wear
their jewelry in public. Some reported they had to sprint to the subway exit to avoid victimization
when the door opened. The New York City Police Department decided to implement a practice of
Stop, Question, and Frisk. This practice became known as Stop and Frisk (Bellin, 2014). Stop and
Frisk was a method in which an officer stopped a pedestrian and asked them a question, and then
frisked them for any weapon or contraband (Rengifo Slocum, 2016). By the late 1990s, stop and frisk
became a common practice implemented by New York City Police Department (Bellin, 2014). The
framework of Stop and Frisk started in 1968 in a case known as Terry v. Ohio. This was a landmark
case that gave law enforcement the constitutional limitations by the United States Supreme Court to
stop and search individuals in streets encounters for weapon or contraband (Rengifo Slocum, 2016). In
1996, the Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer opened an investigation to assess the effectiveness of Stop
and Frisk on the minority communities in New York City. The assessment involved looking at 175,000
stop and frisk forms from 1998 to 1999. During the assessment, a report indicated a disproportionate

Examples Of Masculinity In A View From The Bridge
In A View From The Bridge, Arthur Miller explores what it is to be a man in many ways, such as the
jobs and skills the characters have, power within family, sexuality and having honor. Many of these
ways are shown directly, but are also shown indirectly in what the characters say. Eddie Carbone as he
main protagonist of this play, a lot of the themes of masculinity are linked to Eddie and his views.
A concept of masculinity that Miller explores throughout the play is the job that the characters have,
and their skills this links to what Eddie considers to be manly . Eddie is said to be a longshore man at
the beginning of the play, this job has connotations of strength because it is a very physical job.

hurt (upper or lower body) determines if it is a lower or upper extremity injury.. First of all, there are
the lower extremities which vary in seriousness but all deal with the lower body. In this category,
strains and sprains, cartilage tears and ACL sprains, and fractures and contusions are all taken care of
differently. For example, whilst ACL sprains are mostly very serious to athletes and can require
surgery, strains are in the same exact category yet never require surgery. Following are the Overuse
Lower Extremity Injuries which have more to do with how much an athlete works then what happens
in game. Shin Splints, Patellar Tendinitis (knee pain), and Achilles Tendinitis (ankle pain) are all very
common especially in high schools where practices occur almost daily and as a result, bones and
muscles are overused. Stress added onto an athlete because of overwork can cause what are called
Stress Fractures which is when bones become weak from overuse (for doctors, it is often puzzling to

usually involve the wrists and shoulders. Wrist sprains/fractures and shoulder

Classroom Reflection Paper
In the classroom where I am doing student teaching I have observed students utilizing a science
notebook only three times in the school year so far. Some schools have clusters, while other schools
integrate science into their curriculum through other subject such as reading and writing. According to
one teacher, the students receive science instruction through STEM, which creates more of a focus for
her teaching in social studies instead of science. At my assigned school, the students receive
instruction in their native language in science one day and social studies the next. Most teachers put a
lot of planning into ELA and math, but not a lot of planning into the science lessons that are part of the
curriculum. Part of my belief that science isn t taught at the same level as other subjects is that
teachers don t feel confident enough when it comes to different science topics. When reading Chapter
7 of The Essentials of Science and Literacy I was able to realize important practices when it comes to
science instruction that are not being implemented in the classroom. As a part of the classroom there
are many good practices that I observe from my cooperating teacher. However, I believe that no
general education teacher provides perfect instruction in every subject.
The science notebook has several key purposes within a classroom. According to the article, the
science notebook is the ongoing record of the thinking and the process of a scientific inquiry. Without
a written record, it makes it hard for students to recall at the top of their head their findings from the
day before. A science notebook creates opportunities for students not only to engage in the process of
scientific inquiry, but also to reflect upon their learning. What I like most about the science notebook
is the integration of skills because even though the focus is not on writing, a science notebook allows
students to use several skills in the context of science. When asking students to produce any form of
assessment, there must also be some kind of feedback given to students in order to help them grow
and deepen their understanding of the topic.

Literary Analysis Of Sherlock Holmes
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle utilizes many/several detail oriented literary elements to develop the many
adventures of the famous fictional British detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner, John Watson.
Long winded description and complex vocabulary are infused into Doyle s writing to accentuate
Holmes s great intelligence. By incorporating such a heavy, educated tone upon the mysteries, the
tales of Sherlock Holmes are expressed as very complicated stories that challenge readers in
comprehension as well as encourage curiosity through puzzling cases. One of the most important
literary features of Doyle s works is the use of dialogue and conversations held between characters,
whether it be Holmes, Watson, a victim, and so forth. It seems that ... Show more content on

Another factor to consider is how Holmes questions Watson despite already knowing the answer. This
curious habit in their interactions may also elevate the status Holmes imposes on the text and to the
readers by differentiating/comparing their sense of understanding.
?? Not only can the dialogue bring life to the story, but it can tell the story itself, as seen in many
instances in which Holmes has wrapped up another mystery. Most cases are concluded with a
recollection of events and revealing hints that only Holmes knew of, presented almost
conversationally from Holmes to Watson. With his first person account of the mystery, Doyle uses
Holmes to clarify any remaining confusion or questions that linger in readers minds as the chapter
ends. While it is repetitive after several cases, granting Holmes with such large chunks of dialogue
eliminates the need for boring, lengthy straightforward narration. In relation to dialogue and narration,
Doyle s writing can sometimes venture into a playful tone, which can be found in Holmes. Moreover,
there are also some hints of dark humor dispersed throughout each adventure of Sherlock Holmes that
can bring light to some situations. As mentioned previously, Sherlock Holmes is intended to be an
impressive, genius of a man. Conversely, Doyle also uses Holmes to execute a moderate sense of
comic relief, a refreshing feature that deepens the understanding Holmes and his cases rather than
remaining in a constant state of dead

Inequality in British Schools
Is there a problem of Inequality in British schools?
The educational system is one of the most influential institutions in society as it provides young
people with a vast amount of knowledge, attitudes and skills. These are acquired formally through set
lessons or informally through the hidden curriculum which provides the unofficial and unplanned
consequences of school experience. Social Inequality is one of the major preoccupations of sociology.
The relationship between inequality and education has been studied for many years. Although it seems
obvious that educational success is simply down to an individual s capabilities and motivation,
sociological research shows that the inequalities in social class, gender and race and ethnicity ... Show

On the other hand if the teacher labels a pupil as un co operative or from a poor background, this can
cause low self esteem and the pupil will be likely to fail to achieve much success.
The Neo Marxist s perspective on class stratification in Britain claims that schools create a false class
consciousness so it seems that they promote equal opportunities for all, but they really reproduce a
capitalist division of labour, preparing young people for class determined careers in the labour market.
Willis (1977) accepts the Marxist s view on education being closely linked to the needs of the
capitalist s system; however he does not agree with the idea of there being a direct link between
education and the economy. (Macionis. J, Plummer.K, 2008)
His study found that poorer children often grow up in environments where people see little hope of
upward social mobility and rebel against the system rather than trying to conform with in. In such an
environment adults often discourage rather than encourage success at school. (Macionis. J,
Plummer.K, 2008)
Social class is not the only inequality in Britain s schooling. Sociologists have also found a link
between gender and academic success. Until the late 1980 s there was high concern about the
underachievement of girls. Societies had been structured to consider schooling more important for
males than for females. Although the gap in gender

Ohio Government Benefits
Ohio has so much potential. Property is cheap, taxes are cheap, the colleges are cheaper than most, but
people are fleeing the state at alarming rates. There is only one reason that comes to mind for this. The
state government. It sounds narrow, I know, but everything the state government does, affects this
state, and our lives drastically. An example of this would be College Credit Plus, which is helping
students tremendously, or the Commercial Activity Tax, or CAT, which is driving small businesses out
of the state, or even how Ohio still hasn t legalized recreational marijuana. I know you can t fix who is
in our state government, but there are things our state government, and the people of Ohio can do in
order to better the state. Ohio ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The funding for public education is based on the grounds of property tax. Which, again, is incredibly
stupid because Ohio s property taxes are so low. A better way to fund public education would be to
legalize marijuana. Marijuana is legal in Ohio, but only for medical use. It would be so much more
profitable if it was legal for recreational use also. Not to mention, the people who do marijuana would
stop being thrown in jail. Which is my main beef with it. The federal government paints marijuana as
this terrible drug, Compared to those who don t use marijuana, those who frequently use large
amounts report the following: lower life satisfaction, poorer mental health, poorer physical health,
more relationship problems. People also report less academic and career success. For example,
marijuana use is linked to a higher likelihood of dropping out of school. It s also linked to more job
absences, accidents, and injuries (National Institute of Drug Abuse). Look, I really don t care how
high people get off of marijuana, they can smoke until they don t know their own name. It makes me
mad that people are getting thrown in jail over simply having marijuana on them, while people die of
lung cancer from smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes are even popularized by the media, not demonized
like marijuana is. It s ridiculous. According to Tax Foundation in 2016, A mature

Mean Girls By Cady Heron
An adolescent is a young person who is the in the process of forming from a child into an adult. The
formation can result in physical changes, sexuality, a sense of self direction, and more. During the
movie Mean Girls a female adolescent by the name of Cady Heron who recently just relocated to a

The main point in his theory is that behavior is learned from the environment and the process of

around respectful family members and kind people. Heron quickly learned that respecting your peers

Similarities Between OLAPAnd ORDBMS
Abstract: ORDBMS (Object relational Database Management Systems) provides a convenient
migration for users to enhance and form combined capabilities of relational DBMSs (RDBMSs) while
adding the features appearing in object DBMSs (ODBMSs). ORDBMS adopt the approach of queries
in management of data which is being inherited from that of RDBMS.
OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) is used for the analysis of complex data for the successful
management. OLAP has different meanings depending upon the specific combination of different
technologies however; it is an integral technique of data warehousing solution. This paper will treat
OLAP and ORDBMS comparatively to bring out its similarities and differences.

The major distinguishing features between ORDBMS and OLAP are summarized as
Follows:
Users and system orientation: An ORDBMS technology is customer oriented and is used for query
processing and transactions by information technology professionals, clerks and clients.
An OLAP system is used for data analysis by knowledge workers, including managers, executives,
and analysts and it is market oriented.
Data contents: An ORDBMS system manages current data that typically are too detailed to be easily
used for decision making.
An OLAP system provides facilities for summarization and aggregation, and stores and manages
information at different levels of granularity. It manages large amounts of historical data. These
features make the data easier to use in informed decision making.
Database design: An ORDBMS system usually adopts an entity relationship (ER) or extended entity
relationship (E ER) data model and an object relational database design.
An OLAP system makes use of multidimensional data cubes and star or snowflake data model. It is a

When business do not understand the mind of their target audience they do not generate the type of
responses they initially hoped. The psychological reasons why people comfort themselves when
buying products they don t need is often overlooked. Many American feel they need things but in
reality they just want them. Consumers will go into debt to buy an item they want to personally have.
The joy of seeing it in the house or having friends see them with it is worth it all for them. So many
consumers feel a great sense of comfort in consumer goods that are popular or in demand because they
feel like they can do or have things that others cannot.
Social Processes on Marketing Behavior
Most consumers reasons for buying goods are because friends or family may want them or have them
already. Consumers have said that the reason for buying products is because of someone they know
really wants the product or they want to be the first of the group to have it. This provides a great sense
of gratitude and joy for the consumer group to know that they were the first to have the product. This
brings out the competitive trait in the consumer. Many will go out of their way to get things others
want just so that they can be envied. This makes them feel like a leader or trend setter to the group.

The Leatherstocking Tales Character Analysis
Oceans ever turning, rivers ever rushing, wind ever blowing, and lakes ever placid. Nature stands with
all of it s raw, unforgiving beauty dunting over mankind, not afraid to show its untapped strength.
There is a sheltering quality to this deception, as can be best described through the novel series written
by James F. Cooper. The Leatherstocking Tales develop an ideal environment for the emergence of
one of the first American heros. Cooper created his character, Hawkeye, as a hero that was able to
personally embody the conflicts that early America was facing in the 1750 s, even though the series
was written nearly a decade later. The seclusion and peacefulness of nature create an environment able
to harbor inner conflicts, parallel to the inner conflicts experienced within James F. Cooper s
character, Hawkeye, as he struggles with the colliding cultures of the Native Americans and Western
civilization. Nature, in all its glory, is known for being able to disguise the truth. This is included in
literature all throughout history, whether it be the ever rolling ocean that conceals the fate of a
infamous whaler, or the mist coverd trees that seal in the chaos that harbors beneath them. Upon the
murder of a Native American, Hawkeye reflects aopn how lake was an unchristened sheet of water
that veiled the darkness that hid beneath. The whole scene was radiant with beauty, and yet it was the
sight of countless ruthless and barbaric acts ( Deerslayer , Chapter 7). This

Advanatges of Computerized Accounting
The Advantages of Computerized Accounting System
Speed and accuracy
Computerized accounting system for invoicing make the accounting process run faster and more
efficiently. Instead of using the old fashioned manual paper and pen, you can print professional
looking invoices fast. You even can send out invoices via e mail. The faster invoices get out, the faster
you are likely to get paid. Many invoicing or billing software packages interface with the rest of your
accounting software, making the process of preparing invoices and recording them seamless, fast and
automatic. Computerized accounting programs are quicker as far as entering information is concerned.

Danger of computer fraud if proper level of control and security whether internal and external are not
properly been instituted. Computer systems are prone to damage like hardware malfunctions, virus,
etcetera, plus the data can be far more easily tampered with than the one written on hard media, like
paper records. Additionally, you need specialized personnel to handle these systems.
Facts
Companies using computerized accounting systems often face high implementation and maintenance
costs. Most business owners and managers are unable to update these systems on their own, so they
must contract with an outside agency to set up the system. Ongoing technical support costs may also
be necessary for these systems.
Training
When getting a new accounting system, there is always time and energy spent in training. After a
system is bought, then about every year new versions are released with changes that may need some
extra training getting used to. Some folks are just not computer people and take them lots of time to be
able to use a system.
Dependency
Computerized accounting is dependent on machines and other software to work properly. Often
enough if one thing is wrong with the computer, then there is no access to the software and work
cannot be done. Then time and expense are involved in getting all the system and software up and
running. But then, maybe the printer stops working.
Features
Computerized accounting systems typically require

Henri Vieuxtemps Research Paper
Henri François Joseph Vieuxtemps was born on February 17th, 1820, in Verviers Belgium. He was the
only child to his mother and father, whom were both weavers. His father was an ameteur violinist, and
had decided to begin instructing Henri at the age of four. In that time, and until the age of six, Henri
was taught by his father, in addition to Joseph Lecloux Dejonc, after which he made his first public
performance, a violin concerto. This debut performance was considered so impressive, Henri was sent
to tour many local cities, including Brussels and Liege. During this tour, Henri would attract the
attention of Charles de Bériot, who would try and take take him on as a student sometime in 1829.

He followed this up with another tour in America in 1857, with him settling down to compose a fifth
violin concerto coming in 1861. Unfortunately, Josephine passed away in 1868, leading him to take
another period of foreign touring. After this tour concluded, Henri took a teaching post at the Brussels
Conservatory in 1871. Two years later, he suffered a paralyzing stroke in his right arm, mostly forcing
him to stop performing other than in private chamber arrangements. With most of his work over, he
left his teaching post and kept composing music until another stroke led to his death in

Descartes Dualism
In philosophy, dualism declares a radical difference between mind and matter ( Internet Encyclopedia
of Philosophy, n.d.). All dualists believe that the mind is separate from the brain ( Internet
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, n.d.). Each dualist has their own view on the mind being a product of the
brain. Specifically, philosopher Rene Descartes believed that the soul and body are two different kinds
of substances and neither needs the other in order to exist ( Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. n.d.).
Furthermore, Descartes dualism asserts that the mind, which is non physical, and the body, which is
physical, are separate entities ( Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, n.d.). The mind is not part of the
brain or the body, but exists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pineal gland is a pea sized organ placed at the center of the brain that played an important role in
Descartes philosophy (Lokhorst, 2005). He regarded it as the main seat of the soul and the place in
which all of our thoughts are formed (Lokhorst, 2005). Additionally, Descartes affirmed that the pineal
gland played a critical role, because it was involved in sensation, imagination, memory, and the
causation of bodily movement (Lokhorst, 2005). Descartes believed that the pineal gland was
suspended in the middle of the ventricles, which are fluid filled cavities in the center of the brain
(Lokhorst, 2005). However, this was proven to be false by another philosopher, Aelius Galenus
(Lokhorst, 2005). Secondly, Descartes believed that the pineal gland was full of animal spirits,
surrounded by several small arteries (Lokhorst, 2005). Again, Galenus proved this to be false, because
the pineal gland is surrounded by veins, not arteries (Lokhorst, 2005). Perhaps Descartes assumptions
regarding the pineal gland were mistaken, due to what was known at that time. Either way, Galenus
had already explored the truths and function of the pineal gland before

The Pros And Cons Of Peer Pressure
Peer pressure is the influence that one person or group has on another. Peer pressure is a devastating
force that affects the lives of millions across the world. Most often, peer pressure receives a reputation
for being demeaning, harsh, brutal, and generally negative. However, peer pressure can inspire the
affected party to rise above the cruelty and positively impact their own lives. Yes, peer pressure may
negatively affect someone s life, but it may also change their life in a positive manner. Generally, peer
pressure receives a negative perception from all people, especially teenagers. As a person ages, they
begin to care less and less of their image, but in a person s early years of middle and high school is
when the most effort is put into their public portrayal. Negative peer pressure can be very demeaning,
and ruin a person s self esteem. Personally, I have been a victim of peer pressure. As a young boy, I
was in fact obese. I struggled with my eating habits and the result was an unathletic, nerdy,
unattractive boy. This image I had created for myself caused me a world of terror. Everyday, when at
school, I was the butt of the fat jokes and was excluded from most friend groups. My self confidence
hit rock bottom and I had zero faith I would overcome this obstacle. Now, even though I have
overcome obesity and become healthy, my past still haunts me. I am very shy and reserved, and I am
constantly worried about my image and how people view me. Although this peer

Snout s On Patrol Analysis
Snout s on Patrol Did you know there are pigs that work at airports? I m one. My name is Snout. I m
an airport pest control pig. I look for birds that are living in the tall grass and bushes near the runways
at the airport. Birds can cause problems for planes. If they come too close to one, they can run into it
or fly into the engines. I help keep people and birds safe. I have a fabulous sense of smell, and I m
very smart. I can figure out where the birds are from their scent. Here s what happened today. 8:30
a.m. to 12:00 p.m. My trainer Joe and I patrolled the grass and bushes along runways 1 through 5.
Many birds come to these brushy areas to build their nests, and also because there are seeds, insects,
and berries to eat. It was a quiet

Case Study On Small Business Managers
Blunder # 6 Not having an advisor with experience
Ugh. At first I was going to strike this from the list because, in my opinion, it isn t applicable to every
one. Some business types may be along the road less traveled, making available advisors scarce. I can
think of a few industries where the managers are hard to find and the owners and founders even
harder. People with valuable experience may not be available to some of you reading right now.
For the rest of us here, on the other hand, finding someone who could advise us and answer questions
isn t as difficult. You may even have relatives who are in the same field you want to venture into. If I
decide to open a bar or a lounge in a nice part of the city, I can (and do) get pointers ... Show more

I hate to break it to you, this ain t Cheers, and you aren t Norm. Everyone will NOT know your name.
Unless you have a high profile product, or a high profile client who endorses you, you ll likely need ad
injections from time to time throughout your company s life. Think about it, everyone knows about
Pepsi, Gieco, and McDonald s, but you still see their ads right? Even the big guys do it.
The need for advertising and marketing never stops, regardless of how big you get. And growth will
come from attracting new clients with solid advertising. Blunder # 9 Not having a sufficient marketing
budget
I made this blunder last year selling a product I developed. I was selling a deluxe wine set on Amazon
around Christmas time, which is a gold mining time of year for my product. My goods were in stock
and ready for sale. I started my ad campaign and drained my budget in two weeks. Sadly, there was
still another 60+ days until Christmas day. Needless to say, I made much less than I could ve had if I
set aside more money for my ad campaign.
Pardon the expression, but don t half ass your advertising. Ad dollars out is sales dollars in times ten.
If your ad campaign get cut short, so will your profits.
I m going to step out on a limb and include one more thing that you don t want to ignore when plotting
your marketing budget. Your promotional items. Whether they be

A Contract For Knowledge Management Services
Context
Background and Objectives
This was a contract for knowledge management services proposed by a consulting company to the
client, Train Monitoring System (TMS). The objectives of the contract were: The Role of the Contract
First, the contract states scope of the services delivered by consulting company and the terms and
conditions in agreement in order to avoid any types of misunderstanding (Swaab, 2014). Second, the
contract can put restrictions on the behaviors of both parties as it is legally enforceable. Third, the
contract defines the rights, limits and obligations for both parties and these can be used as evidence in
dispute. It protects both consulting company and TMS and minimizes their business risks.

Deliverables and Acceptance
The deliverables section is to outline the outcomes that contractor should provide to obtain payment
(University of Newcastle, n.d.). The current section only listed report as the only deliverable and lack
of details. The presentation and workshop were omitted. The current section also omitted acceptance
criteria, which is essential to define breach and poor performance and to provide evidence for
withholding of payment, even penalty. Recommendations are:
To specify the title, contents, pages, format, due date and price for report, presentation and workshop.
To clearly identify the acceptance criteria regarding quality and time of deliverables.
To describe when breaching, withholding payment and penalty will be applied.
Client Inputs
Client input is to help clients to understand the requirement for consultancy to complete the work. The
current client inputs were neither specific nor sufficient for conducting the project. Recommendations
are:
To specify all inputs TMS should provide, including location, office, facilities, materials and
documentation.
To outline the time and requirement for each listed items.
To specify which stakeholders will be notified.
To specify personnel in TMS engaged in this project.

Furthermore, I expect that REITs use relatively less debt for financing, because of the relatively higher
cost of debt.
Already in 1958, Modigliani and Miller have pointed the discussion of capital structure towards the
cost of debt and equity. According to their first proposition, in a world of no corporate taxes and with
perfect markets, financial leverage has no effect on a firm s value. In their second proposition, they
state that the cost of equity equals a linear function defined by the required return on assets and the
cost of debt (Modigliani and Miller, 1958).
As negative aspects of debt, e.g. personal tax loss and bankruptcy costs however do exist in reality,
Miller (1977) elaborates that leverage will either have no or a negative effect on the firm s value,
hence untaxed firms should favor equity.
Nevertheless, firms have used leverage even before corporate taxes have been introduced (Maris and
Elayan, 1990). This implies the existence of some market imperfections, which benefit the use of debt
financing, thus enable a trade off of the cost and benefits of debt resulting in an optimal capital
structure, where marginal cost equal marginal benefits.
In general, the majority of existing research is set up by taking the security issuance choice as the
dependent variable and then tests empirically for determinants based on data from one type of
companies. It needs to be taken into consideration that security issue decision and capital

Netflix vs. Blockbuster vs. Redbox
Which movie rental service is right for you?
We all love movies, and the best way to see all the films you want is to rent them. There was a time
when we all used brick and mortar stores to get our hands on a movie to watch. Nowadays, there are
more options available for the film lover. The internet has changed things drastically, and many
physical rental stores are disappearing. Hollywood Video is long gone, and most Mom and Pop stores
were crushed under Blockbuster s boot back in the 90 s.
So, which option is best for you in the new world of movie rentals? Should you go with Netflix?...
Blockbuster?... Redbox?
Each of these big players have various pros and cons associated with them. I have used all three

There are thousands of movies available to watch instantly on your TV screen through such devices as
the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and many more devices.
Not everything is available for streaming, so i still use the mail quite a bit, albeit with a much smaller
plan than the 8 disc behemoth. I have been surprised by some of the obscure titles I found on Netflix
titles that I didn t find when I was with Blockbuster. Things like Strings , Metropia , and Zachariah .
However, if you find that you re doing all your viewing through the streaming, then you should
consider the streaming only plan for $7.99.
There are some new releases however that will be held back for that 28 day head start that Blockbuster
is so proud of. Which is fine with me, because there are plenty of deep catalog titles and streaming
selections to keep me busy for four weeks. They also don t have games for rent, but would be a one
stop supersite if they ever did.
Redbox
Maybe you only watch a couple of movies every month. If so, Redbox is for you. Redbox has
machines in many locations nationwide, allowing you to rent movies for only a dollar a night. You can
return to any machine, which you should have no problem finding, since they are in most Wal Mart s,
as well as at several McDonald s and 7 11 s.
There are some drawbacks, however. The selection is pretty slim, and the wait to use the machines can

2016 Primary Election And Presidential Election Essay
The 2016 primary election has been the most intriguing in modern history, mainly due to one
candidate; Donald J. Trump. Before he won the general election, President elect Donald J. Trump won
the Republican primary. Since the day he announced his candidacy by riding down an escalator in
Trump Tower, pundits and politicians didn t seriously believe he had a chance. As the debates were
held and the primaries went on, it became apparent that he had an actual chance of winning the
nomination. The Republican primary showed that there was an anger toward traditional politicians, an
anger which Donald Trump tapped into. The rise of Trump also showed that the old rules of what was
acceptable to say do not apply any more. These and other factors lead me to the conclusion that the
Republican party lost control of the 2016 primary election and failed to choose its eventual nominee.
To understand how the GOP failed to select its candidate, we should first understand the
circumstances leading up to the 2016 primary. In the 1990 s the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA) and other free trade deals dealt a blow to US manufacturing. People that worked
in manufacturing lost their jobs, in addition to those in the steel and coal industries . These factors
affected the area known as the Rust Belt especially hard. In politics, for decades, politicians learned
that to get votes, they must act very polished and speak like a politician. Both Democrats and
Republicans were generally

The Islamic Faith Sufism Essay
Islam, as a religion, is divided into two different sects, Sunni and Shi i. These divisions have their own
separate values and rituals that create an unconquerable schism between them. The gap, however, is
somewhat bridged by a twist on the Islamic faith known as Sufism. The mystic ways of the Sufi
society make it very appealing to both Sunnis and Shiites, not to mention the newcomers to the
Islamic faith. Sufism uses the quality of unification and the quality of appeal to make it one of the
strongest aspects of Islam.
Sufism was founded on the belief that Muslims could obtain a one on one ; relationship with God
through mystical practices. Mysticism is defined as a particular method of approach to Reality making

The Master proceeds to stand in the midst of this chanting, and he is followed by the circle of devotees
around him. The entire group then begins to chant very loudly while they jump, clap, sway, or bounce.
At the end of this two hour session, the Master gives some verbal command, which causes the
devotees to stop their chanting while the choir drops to a very low tone, and the ceremony comes to an
end. The Sufis believe that this type of worship will bring them to ecstasy, thereby shortening the
distance between God and themselves.
Sufis also believe that the ecstasy for which they strive can only be reached by a Pure Love ; for the
Beloved ; or God. Sufis believe that their God is omniscient and omnipotent. They hold faith in his
ability to give and take away. Their God has the undeniable ability to do anything and everything that
he wills. Their strength comes from the Beloved, and they strive solely for the right to be one with the
Beloved. The end of the Path come when the mystic soul is rapt up into union with the Divine and the
soul becomes one with God ; in much the same manner as the drop subsists when it is merged in the
ocean amp;#8230;for the part has returned to become one with the Whole. ;
The Sufis have one particular story, which shows this deep infatuation with the Beloved. The story
speaks of a man who is asked where he is going, where he comes from, what he desires, etc. His

Effects Of Mung Bean Starch On Rice Noodles Quality Criticizing Effects of Mung Bean Starch on Rice Noodles Quality In Effect of mung bean starch on quality of rice noodles made by direct dry flour extrusion Wu, Meng, Yang et al. (2015) focus on developing a better understanding of the influences of mung bean starch (MS) on the physiochemical properties of rice flour (RF) and quality of rice noodles produced by the direct dry flour extrusion; as well as test possible corporation of rice flour (RF) and MS fractions into rice noodles to improve its quality. First of all, Wu et al. analyzed the substituted rice flour samples. The rice flour samples were prepared in four difference MS substitutions, 0%, 2%, 5% and 8% for experimentations. With increase MS content in the mixture, the results showed increase in amylose content, rate of retrogradation, pasting stability, and strength of the gel, but decline in swelling power and solubility. The authors pointed out corporation of MS and RF significantly influenced the physicochemical properties of rice noodle mixture, which desirable for rice noodle making. This phenomenon results rice noodles were positively affected by these changes as well, including decreased cooking time, loss rate and broken rate. Also, based on the texture properties and sensory evaluation, elevating MS content contributed to better texture and overall acceptance of rice noodles, but authors also point out, after 5% MS substitution, the rate of quality improvements were decreased. • 3. Lascia Ch Io Pianga Analysis Essay The analysis of the aria Lascia ch io pianga by Haendel according to the thorough bass method, shows us how the composer refer in this piece to the typical compositional procedures of baroque music. The aria starts with a pedal (frame, according to Joel Lester s terminology) followed by a cadence harmonized according the regle de l octave both in ascending and descending motion (MM. 5 8). The second episode starting at M. 8 consists of a sequence, precisely a modified sequence, in which the subsequent is slightly modified at the end introducing a new harmony on the second beat of M. 12 that leads to a final cadence with a modulation to the original key. The regle is always working also in the sequence, it is just applied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Lascia ch io pianga is possible to understand all the harmonies as fifths and sevenths but the bass line motion not always moves naturally by fifths and fourths. In many cases, through the use of the double emploi, is has been possible to correct some irregular motions into fifth motion, but still for some of them it hasn t been possible. Probably the most evident example is the motion by second occurring between MM. 6 and 7, and between MM. 11 and 12. The fundamental bass analysis bring into play notes that are supposed, that are not in the score but affect the music as the roots of a tree feed the last leaf on the highest branch. In this case, we can see how the sense of motion that we perceive listening to this aria is perfectly explained and justified by the succession of seventh chord and fifth chord, as the epitome of the arsi tesi feeling in music. Even in the first two measures, that look really simple in the thorough bass analysis, we can still discover something that makes this beginning not so obvious. In the first measure the F is transformed into D with a seventh chord on top, and the accumulation of this seventh with the next one in the second measure create a sense of instability and a need to resolve. In the next measures this tension will be released through a succession of 5 chord with two final combinations 7 5 to close the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Separate Peace Act 1 Scene 1 Analysis The scene I have chosen is a bit more than midway through the book, page 180 exactly. I chose this excerpt because I believe it is a true display of thematic ideas of manipulation and politics, with a small touch on the theme of religion. This passage is all about Rasputin s political power through ties to the royal family and his skill in manipulation. In this passage, Rasputin is attempting to instate a friend, Alexander Protopopov, the Duma s vice president, as minister of interior. Of course he need to get the tsar Nicholas II to approve this, so Rasputin started with asking the empress Backtracking a bit, because preceding this excerpt, there were large amounts of political leapfrogging in 1916, lots of events tied to the theme of politics. Ministers of different departments were fired, re assigned, or hired for no reason, which left the minister of interior position open for Rasputin to secure for Protopopov. Now Protopopov was a respectable nobleman, charming statesman, and veteran, which made it all the easier for Rasputin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only three months past and Nicholas had Protopopov made the new minister of interior. Once again, Rasputin had his way. God bless your new choice of Protopopov, Alexandra exclaimed. Our Friend says you have done a very wise act in naming him . This quote is obviously tied to the themes of religion, politics AND manipulation. Rasputin manipulates Alexandra into believing what he does, and into telling Nicholas II that by listening to her (thus Rasputin) choice in political figures, the tsar was approved by God, an idea that Nicholas II could draw the conclusion that as long as he listens to his wife(a.k.a. Gregory Rasputin) he will always be right by the Church. It s ironic that the author uses rather sophisticated language due to that Rasputin, though he appears to be a flamboyant monk with too much love for alcohol, is an intelligent, deceiving ... • 5. The New York City Police Department Essay In the 1990s, the growth of violent crime reached its all time high in New York City. In response to the number of high murder rates in the 1990s, the New York City Police Department realized that their efforts to reduce crime were ineffective. The local news reported that New Yorkers were afraid to wear their jewelry in public. Some reported they had to sprint to the subway exit to avoid victimization when the door opened. The New York City Police Department decided to implement a practice of Stop, Question, and Frisk. This practice became known as Stop and Frisk (Bellin, 2014). Stop and Frisk was a method in which an officer stopped a pedestrian and asked them a question, and then frisked them for any weapon or contraband (Rengifo Slocum, 2016). By the late 1990s, stop and frisk became a common practice implemented by New York City Police Department (Bellin, 2014). The framework of Stop and Frisk started in 1968 in a case known as Terry v. Ohio. This was a landmark case that gave law enforcement the constitutional limitations by the United States Supreme Court to stop and search individuals in streets encounters for weapon or contraband (Rengifo Slocum, 2016). In 1996, the Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer opened an investigation to assess the effectiveness of Stop and Frisk on the minority communities in New York City. The assessment involved looking at 175,000 stop and frisk forms from 1998 to 1999. During the assessment, a report indicated a disproportionate stop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are different extremities as to how one can get hurt, meaning wherever you get hurt (upper or lower body) determines if it is a lower or upper extremity injury.. First of all, there are the lower extremities which vary in seriousness but all deal with the lower body. In this category, strains and sprains, cartilage tears and ACL sprains, and fractures and contusions are all taken care of differently. For example, whilst ACL sprains are mostly very serious to athletes and can require surgery, strains are in the same exact category yet never require surgery. Shin Splints, Patellar Tendinitis (knee pain), and Achilles Tendinitis (ankle pain) are all very common especially in high schools where practices occur almost daily and as a result, bones and muscles are overused. • 9. Classroom Reflection Paper In the classroom where I am doing student teaching I have observed students utilizing a science notebook only three times in the school year so far. Some schools have clusters, while other schools integrate science into their curriculum through other subject such as reading and writing. According to one teacher, the students receive science instruction through STEM, which creates more of a focus for her teaching in social studies instead of science. At my assigned school, the students receive instruction in their native language in science one day and social studies the next. Most teachers put a lot of planning into ELA and math, but not a lot of planning into the science lessons that are part of the curriculum. Part of my belief that science isn t taught at the same level as other subjects is that teachers don t feel confident enough when it comes to different science topics. When reading Chapter 7 of The Essentials of Science and Literacy I was able to realize important practices when it comes to science instruction that are not being implemented in the classroom. As a part of the classroom there are many good practices that I observe from my cooperating teacher. However, I believe that no general education teacher provides perfect instruction in every subject. The science notebook has several key purposes within a classroom. According to the article, the science notebook is the ongoing record of the thinking and the process of a scientific inquiry. Without a written record, it makes it hard for students to recall at the top of their head their findings from the day before. A science notebook creates opportunities for students not only to engage in the process of scientific inquiry, but also to reflect upon their learning. What I like most about the science notebook is the integration of skills because even though the focus is not on writing, a science notebook allows students to use several skills in the context of science. When asking students to produce any form of assessment, there must also be some kind of feedback given to students in order to help them grow and deepen their understanding of the topic. 2. • 10. Literary Analysis Of Sherlock Holmes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle utilizes many/several detail oriented literary elements to develop the many adventures of the famous fictional British detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner, John Watson. Long winded description and complex vocabulary are infused into Doyle s writing to accentuate Holmes s great intelligence. By incorporating such a heavy, educated tone upon the mysteries, the tales of Sherlock Holmes are expressed as very complicated stories that challenge readers in comprehension as well as encourage curiosity through puzzling cases. One of the most important literary features of Doyle s works is the use of dialogue and conversations held between characters, whether it be Holmes, Watson, a victim, and so forth. It seems that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another factor to consider is how Holmes questions Watson despite already knowing the answer. This curious habit in their interactions may also elevate the status Holmes imposes on the text and to the readers by differentiating/comparing their sense of understanding. ?? Not only can the dialogue bring life to the story, but it can tell the story itself, as seen in many instances in which Holmes has wrapped up another mystery. Most cases are concluded with a recollection of events and revealing hints that only Holmes knew of, presented almost conversationally from Holmes to Watson. With his first person account of the mystery, Doyle uses Holmes to clarify any remaining confusion or questions that linger in readers minds as the chapter ends. While it is repetitive after several cases, granting Holmes with such large chunks of dialogue eliminates the need for boring, lengthy straightforward narration. In relation to dialogue and narration, Doyle s writing can sometimes venture into a playful tone, which can be found in Holmes. Moreover, there are also some hints of dark humor dispersed throughout each adventure of Sherlock Holmes that can bring light to some situations. As mentioned previously, Sherlock Holmes is intended to be an impressive, genius of a man. Conversely, Doyle also uses Holmes to execute a moderate sense of comic relief, a refreshing feature that deepens the understanding Holmes and his cases rather than remaining in a constant state of dead ... The educational system is one of the most influential institutions in society as it provides young people with a vast amount of knowledge, attitudes and skills. These are acquired formally through set lessons or informally through the hidden curriculum which provides the unofficial and unplanned consequences of school experience. Social Inequality is one of the major preoccupations of sociology. The relationship between inequality and education has been studied for many years. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand if the teacher labels a pupil as un co operative or from a poor background, this can cause low self esteem and the pupil will be likely to fail to achieve much success. The Neo Marxist s perspective on class stratification in Britain claims that schools create a false class consciousness so it seems that they promote equal opportunities for all, but they really reproduce a capitalist division of labour, preparing young people for class determined careers in the labour market. Willis (1977) accepts the Marxist s view on education being closely linked to the needs of the capitalist s system; however he does not agree with the idea of there being a direct link between education and the economy. (Macionis. J, Plummer.K, 2008) His study found that poorer children often grow up in environments where people see little hope of upward social mobility and rebel against the system rather than trying to conform with in. In such an environment adults often discourage rather than encourage success at school. (Macionis. J, Plummer.K, 2008) Social class is not the only inequality in Britain s schooling. Sociologists have also found a link between gender and academic success. Until the late 1980 s there was high concern about the underachievement of girls. Societies had been structured to consider schooling more important for males than for females. Although the gap in gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Ohio Government Benefits Ohio has so much potential. Property is cheap, taxes are cheap, the colleges are cheaper than most, but people are fleeing the state at alarming rates. There is only one reason that comes to mind for this. The state government. It sounds narrow, I know, but everything the state government does, affects this state, and our lives drastically. An example of this would be College Credit Plus, which is helping students tremendously, or the Commercial Activity Tax, or CAT, which is driving small businesses out of the state, or even how Ohio still hasn t legalized recreational marijuana. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The funding for public education is based on the grounds of property tax. Which, again, is incredibly stupid because Ohio s property taxes are so low. A better way to fund public education would be to legalize marijuana. Marijuana is legal in Ohio, but only for medical use. It would be so much more profitable if it was legal for recreational use also. Not to mention, the people who do marijuana would stop being thrown in jail. Which is my main beef with it. The federal government paints marijuana as this terrible drug, Compared to those who don t use marijuana, those who frequently use large amounts report the following: lower life satisfaction, poorer mental health, poorer physical health, more relationship problems. People also report less academic and career success. For example, marijuana use is linked to a higher likelihood of dropping out of school. It s also linked to more job absences, accidents, and injuries (National Institute of Drug Abuse). Look, I really don t care how high people get off of marijuana, they can smoke until they don t know their own name. There is a sheltering quality to this deception, as can be best described through the novel series written by James F. Cooper. The Leatherstocking Tales develop an ideal environment for the emergence of one of the first American heros. Cooper created his character, Hawkeye, as a hero that was able to personally embody the conflicts that early America was facing in the 1750 s, even though the series was written nearly a decade later. The seclusion and peacefulness of nature create an environment able to harbor inner conflicts, parallel to the inner conflicts experienced within James F.
