Personal Reflection Of Personal Writing
Hi Professor Savage,
You mention in your email quite a few references to my writing having some serious issues, yet in the
grading not one example was pointed out . I ask that if you believe the same applies to any part of the
draft submission that you highlight at least the one that will explain any significant point deduction.
More, importantly, I would like to know exactly where I can use improvements, plus I prefer clarity as
to where and/or why points were taken off in this class. Sometimes stylistic choice is mistaken for
poor writing or incoherent or illogical as you suggested. I have not come across any professor that has
said so much about my writing (negatively) and not offer any example. A link in this case is not
exactly the solution for all that was implied. Anyhow, my main goal is to focus on where I can fix it
myself, so please. show where, next time thanks.
You said, The essay is not intended to be a personal reflection or a guide for writers but rather an
advocacy for an idea. The journal and notes came across reflective, well, because they re preliminary
tools, the scaffold to the final, right. I understand the draft and final are 3rd POV, backed by
annotation, and my opinion as well, but not delivered as a personal narrative. The backstory was
merely to show I am speaking from some experience. We cannot advocate what we don t understand,
sure credible annotations are needed, but self publishing is a hands on approach, therefore, subjective,
too.
I m concerned about a few things, and then again, not so much knowing all these assignments leading
to the actual final submission are meant to serve us as a form of outline the chaos, ironed out. As you
must be aware brainstorming can happen at any stage. However, I do have a few comments on some
changes you suggested (thanks) and those I have in mind. You said, concisely, , and I assure you my
aim for the final, I don t worry too much at these stages, as I will rigorously edit, revise and chisel
away from the draft, and then polish for the final. Furthermore, incorporate any feedback if given and
are applicable from the workshop and your grading notes. I m not fond of MindEdge s outline
approach, but I do get the gist, while still using what

MRAP Program Essay
The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) program differ from a normal procurement program
by being a relatively available commercial off the shelf (COTS) vehicle, senior leadership
involvement, and ample funding. The MRAP program acquisition methodology should not be
repeated for other major defense acquisition programs. Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) became a
wicked problem for the U.S. military in Iraq, especially for the ground forces. The MRAP program
was a leadership driven, a partial operational solution, not a strategic solution. Accordingly, the MRAP
program showcased positive and negative effects of a rapid acquisition process. Strategic leaders must
allow operational and tactical leaders to define requirements. Strategic leaders should establish
prioritization of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The MRAP program followed the normal defense acquisition process, but some aspects of the
program cannot be duplicated easily. Conatser and Grizio outlined four requirements for a rapid
acquisition process mature technical solution, user s acceptance of a short term solution, full support
by the leadership, and full funding. The MRAP program met all these requirements. There were
several MRAP type vehicles already in full production mode that just needed to be mass produced.
Using multiple vendors allowed quick mass production of MRAPs. Although later shown to be
insufficient to defeat all IED threats as the Insurgents increased the size of IEDs and used Explosive
Formed Projectiles (EFP), the commanders in Iraq accepted MRAPs. There were several politicians
pushing the U.S. military to procure MRAPs quickly as possible. In 2007, Secretary Gates made
MRAP the top DoD acquisition priority. Lastly, the Congress allocated sufficient funding for the
MRAP program. Secretary Carter cites the MRAP program as an example of how much can be
accomplished with the full backing of leaders in Congress and the

American Sign Language ( Asl )
Classifiers are handshapes we use in American sign language (ASL) to show the movement,
placement, orientation, size, and shape of a noun. Since ASL is a rule governed language when using
classifiers you must first identify the noun, then you can use the classifier to show how the object
moves or is placed in relationship to other objects (Aron). American sign language uses eight different
kinds of classifiers for specific categories.
Since classifiers cover a wide variety of uses there are several categories that a classifier can be used
for, as a Descriptive classifier (DCL) which is used for describing an object or a person. The story
TIMBER the signer describes a lumberjack s appearance. The signer describes the lumberjacks large
muscles and large chest; he describes the plaid shirt the lumberjack is wearing as well. Locative
Classifiers (LCL) are representing an object in a specific place and sometimes movement. The
handshape is given followed by spatial or locative information. In the story TIMBER the signer uses
several Locative classifiers, one of them is when he shows the forest being in front of the lumberjack.
Another classifier is the Semantic Classifier (SCL) that represents a category of nouns such as a
vehicle or a person. The handshape is given then information about specific movement. In the story
TIMBER the signer uses the semantic classifier to show a person walking in the woods as well as a
tree about to fall. Plural Classifiers (PCL) indicates

Understanding Key Words Analysis
1.According to the Google video being clear when you write is when you have a full understanding
and clarity across when your writing. To ensure your writing has clarity you can read it out loud, try
and make it sound as naturally as possible.Try not to use scientific terms so it is more understandable
for regular people you can use the scientific terms but not by itself use them more a definition of what
you are trying to explain.
2.From my understanding key phrases are a phrase that gives the writing meaning or a strong point
across. This message should be used frequently so its not forgotten. Im not sure if I used key phrases
or not in my week of change essay but if it can be just a one word that you can use I would say that

Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream
William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride
through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to
be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the
play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to
explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the
Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream
interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the
unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare is actually the inventor of what we refer to
as Freudian psychology, and we see this at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other
plays. Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity has searched for their significance and meanings, from the Old Testament dreams of
Pharaoh and of Jacob s dream of the ladder, to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as being messages
from the gods. These vivid images that arise in the unconscious mind contain elements of our personal
identity, segments of our daily lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s
work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream,
seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like
one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also
lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the
audience is dropped into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the
events that led to where they

Gm s Argumentative Analysis
A positive spotlight shines on the GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado, a pair of midsize pickup
trucks with an available turbo diesel engine. In light of the Volkswagen diesel scandal, GM has
managed to undergo extra scrutiny of its new to the US market turbo diesel engine and has emerged
with both its reputation and its mileage claims intact. Indeed, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado 4x2
equipped with a 2.8 liter, four cylinder turbo diesel is EPA rated at 31 mpg on the highway. The
Colorado and its GMC Canyon twin will also get 29 mpg on the highway for its 4x4 models. Not

The Ram model is the first light duty pickup with a diesel offered in about 15 years. Only heavy duty
models have offered diesel variants, trucks powered by substantial turbo diesel six or eight cylinder
engines. Moving into diesels will give GM an immediate edge as neither Toyota nor Nissan have such
choices available. Toyota is the undisputed segment leader and with its most recent update it should
easily retain its position. But, for customers desiring the ultimate in pulling power up to 7,700 pounds
in 4x2 trucks equipped with the trailering package and engine longevity, the GM diesels are certain to
thrive. The Colorado Duramax diesel is in a league of its own, said Sandor Piszar, director of
Chevrolet Truck Marketing. Colorado s gas models already led the segment in fuel efficiency, and the
new diesel which no other non GM competitor offers on a midsize truck gives customers even greater
freedom to go where they want with fewer fill ups. That range is an estimated 651 miles for the trucks

The Importance Of Repercussion In Dead Poets Society
Robin Williams stated in the film, Dead Poets Society, that those who have now passed, [were] [f]ull
of hormones, just like you. Invincible just like you feel. The world is their oyster (Williams). When
people believe that they are invincible, they forget that their actions have repercussions. In the belief
that the world is their oyster, obtaining the pearl inside to achieve success is nothing but a solo
mission, which is apparent in the novels Oedipus the King , Death of a Salesman and Do Androids
Dream of Electric Sheep. In these literary works the repercussions from being covetous leads to
hurting the ones dearest to them by risking what is important in life and eliciting self destruction. In
life, rapaciousness drives a person until they lose the ability to rationalize their actions, resulting in the
detachment of others. When one is greedy they lack the morality of working their way up to
accomplish a goal. Instead they are steadfast in taking unnecessary risks in order to achieve.
Unfortunately, they compromise their relationships as well.To start off with, Family is the most
important factor in one s life. Risking it, regrettably ensues problems in the relationships with others.
For instance, Biff from Death of a Salesman has an ongoing disagreement with his father, Willy. The
two cannot seem to get along because Biff believes his father has had the wrong dreams (Miller 138).
In contrast, Biff himself cannot seem to find a job in the plight of his own

Homelessness And Poverty And Homelessness
Imagine a world where it is illegal to sit down. Could you survive if there were no place you were
allowed to fall asleep, to store your belongings, or to stand still? For most of us, these scenarios seem
unrealistic to the point of being ludicrous. But, for homeless people across America, these
circumstances are an ordinary part of life. (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty 7)
While a portion of today s society turns a blind eye to the subject of the criminalization of
homelessness, an even larger quantity of people are not aware of the situation that is happening in
every major city of America. For those living an affluent lifestyle, it can be difficult to discuss the
amount of poverty and homelessness that is constantly occurring. The definition and meaning behind
the absence of home is also arduous to discuss. While homelessness is commonly associated with
sleeping outside or in provisional areas, this word also identifies with an absence of belonging. This
absence of belonging can relate not only to a community, but also to the people that dwell there
(Baumohl 3). Within the portion of those who are aware of the homelessness situation, there is a
section that detests the poverty stricken persons of our society. These biased members of the American
population express their antipathy in several ways. It is necessary to reveal the privileges that
homeless persons have been violently stripped of, and expose and broadcast the freedom they are
entitled to. Through

What Are The Six Abiotic Factors That Affect Coral Reefs
Six abiotic factors that affect the organisms living in the ecosystem are sunlight, temperature, the
density, the buoyancy level, the salinity level, and the penetration of light. The sunlight entering the
ecosystem allows the process of photosynthesis to continue. This process provided nutrients, food, and
energy to the plants and animals in the area, allowing the food chain to be secure. The temperature of
the water should be between 68 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperatures go lower than the range,
or higher, some organisms who use the coral reef as a habitat may not be able to adapt or survive in
the new conditions. The density of the coral reef affects the communities of animals and other biotic
factors since some of them can only survive between certain depths of the water. The buoyancy level
of the water in the coral reef contributes to the ability to move for the animals. Buoyancy is the force
that supports an organism s weight. The salinity level in a coral reef is greater than the salinity in a
freshwater ecosystem. If the salinity levels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reefs are restricted to certain environmental conditions, such as warmer air and ocean temperatures,
there are not many forms of precipitation that occur in the biome. The average annual rainfall in the

Why Recreational Hunting Of Western Canada Is Morally...
In his letter titled Why Recreational Hunting in Western Canada is Morally Justified, Sven states that
he is arguing for responsible hunting where the primary benefits are the pleasure of hunting animals in
the wilderness and eating their meat. Despite several strengths, his weaknesses in reasoning outweigh
the few positives. Thus, the letter s overall worth is negligible. The letter s weaknesses in reasoning lie
in Sven s central justifications for recreational hunting, being human pleasure and eating meat, in his
supporting argument for animal suffering, and in his failure to define recreational hunting s necessity.
To begin, I will address the strengths of Sven s letter. The first strength is that Sven defines his
argument s parameters, allowing him to eliminate several counterarguments against his claim. Sven
specifies that the hunting type he argues for does not include killing for protection or sustenance, nor
negligent hunting practices that promote needless harm to humans, property, or wildlife. Additionally,
Sven rejects using bait or vehicles. Sven s most significant strength is when he defines the moral
relationship between humans and animals, stating, [a]nimals deserve respect, but so do humans, and
when there is conflict of interests, the interest that humans have in feeding their families must prevail.
Stuart Rachels, in his evaluation of Utilitarianism, argues that humans are special in many ways but
are not the only beings capable of suffering, and thus

Society s Impact On Wealth And Elite Social Status
Increase in wealth during the post agriculture period impacted elite social status greatly. Elite social
status was a great deal to the wealth people in this era. They would do everything in their power to
ensure that their social status was unharmed. The wealth made the wealthier individual s feel higher
and separated from the common people. The increase in wealth allowed room for elite to make rules
that were to be governed in sexual relationships. It was so important to pass on the elite social status
and wealth that it became codified as written laws for the elite. Wealth impacted the elite because it
controlled who they could marry in order to pass on the social status. The most acceptable form of a
relationship that would form into a marriage in an elite social status would be a relationship between a
man and a woman, both coming from elite families. The wealth would then be able to be passed down,
which exemplifies the impact wealth had on the elite social status. Elite men that formed relationships
with a non elite woman would only be viewed her as a mistress for sexual pleasure. A elite woman and
a non elite man would cause shame to be brought upon her family and the man could possibly be
murdered for his actions. There were exceptions where a wealth family would adopt non elite males
and raise them to be elite. (McKay, Pg. 26) Wealth impacted elite social status because most
inheritance is left to male heirs, but in desperate efforts to keep wealth within their

Alexander Plutarch s Influence On Alexander The Great
Best known for his writings of leading figures in antiquity and his essays on ethics and virtue, Plutarch
s biography on Alexander the Great and his vision would influence tremendously upon future western
writers in regard to the interpretation of Alexander the Great. Plutarch s Alexander s fortune and virtue
claimed that Alexander s aim for his empire was homonoia, the unity of mankind and fusion between
civilizations. According to Plutarch, Alexander rejected the traditional Greek view that Persian were
barbarians, and instead proclaimed that Alexander was intentionally trying to establish a sense of
oneness throughout his empire. In the more than two millennium since Plutarch s biography and

Why Do Cults Be Illegal
Cults are a small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or
sinister. Cults are portrayed to the people as dangerous and strange because of what they often do. For
example, one cult that is well known is the Ku Klux Klan also knows as the KKK. They targeted
African Americans, the criminal acts they did were very violent. All cults should be illegal because
they choose violent methods to put out their message. Cults are dangerous to be apart in. The reason
they should all be illegal is because they are very dangerous. As well as their actions turn into violent
acts. They fulfill acts of racism and oppression. Another reason is because they brainwash their
members to make them stay in the cult. Once in a cult many members of such cults aren t allowed ...

tenets are revealed, as with the People s Temple after Jonestown . Brainwashing is one of many ways
cult leaders make their members do the activities they want them to do. Cult members usually do not
know they are in a cult. Once they figure out they are in one they want to leave but cannot. The
members that are able to leave the cult will be left with the physical and mental damages the cult

Coca Cola a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drink products. Coca Cola was not
always the sugary syrup soft drink most people know today. As a matter of fact, before 1886 Coca

Georgia Coca Cola was originally named Pemberton s French Wine Coca. Dr. Pemberton marketed
the drink as a cure all for mental and physical disorders and was sold from a soda fountain at his local

The Dangers Of Complacency In The Military
The Dangers of Complacency Complacency is a common theme throughout life whether it be civilian
or military. Merriam Webster defines complacency as a feeling of being satisfied with how things are
and not wanting to try to make them better: a complacent feeling or condition (Merriam Webster s
online dictionary, n.d.). This state or feeling can be as simple as wanting to maintain the status quo.
While it is important in civilian careers to battle complacency, it is of the utmost important to remain
vigilant against complacency for military members because so many lives are at stake. This is why it
is important for military members, not just leaders, to identify the dangers of and the ever growing
status of complacency while implementing strategies to prevent and correct complacency.
Complacency Causes Facing the Army One of the most frequent causes of complacency is over
confidence. This can be seen in individuals and units after becoming comfortable with the operational
tempo. One way this is manifested is by skipping Pre Combat Checks (PCCs) and Pre Combat

Moreover, researcher Torgeson and a group of his colleagues, conducted extensive research in 2007
regarding academic literacy for adolescents. Their findings pinpointed six critical factors underlying
proficient reading performance at the late elementary, middle and high school levels. They are:
Fluency of text reading
Vocabulary or the breadth and depth of knowledge about the meaning of words;
Active and flexible use of reading strategies to enhance comprehension;
Background, or prior knowledge related to the content of the text being read;
Higher level reasoning and thinking skills; and
Motivation and engagement for understanding and learning from text (2007, p. 5).
With these critical factors identified, I chose to focus on four components that result in barriers to

Essay on The Politics of Going Green
Sustainability, as it pertains to the environment, seems like an idea that would appeal to everyone. The
idea of conserving what we have, reusing what we can, and developing new ways to more efficiently
use our planet s limited recourses just seems like common sense to me. Unfortunately, our
representatives in Washington D.C. have used environmentalism as a way to gain votes and divide the
electorate. Responsible management of our planet has become as widely debated as gay marriage or
religion in the schools. Like most social issues, sustainability has ardent supporters and determined
critics. Global warming has become the spotlight for both sides of the battle over sustainability in
American politics. Supporters of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On that day some 20 million Americans throughout the country held peaceful demonstrations favoring
environmental reforms. The year ended with the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) on December 2, 1970.The EPA is charged with establishing and enforcing environmental
protection standards, conducting environmental research, assisting others in combating environmental
pollution, and recommending new environmental protection policies to the President (Lewis). The
short Carter administration s energy policy highlighted funding for solar energy and the continuation
of Nixon policies. As the environmental decade came to close and the Carter administration ended in
1981, the new President shifted attention and funding elsewhere. The left praised Reagan for his
environmental record as governor of California but after entering the oval office Reagan quickly
began undoing much of the environmental progress of the last decade. In his first year in office
Reagan proposed a 25 percent cut in funding for the EPA. Reagan was quoted saying trees cause more
pollution than automobiles do, and if you ve seen one tree you ve seen them all (Little). I, along with
most Americans, easily get frustrated when politicians change their views just so they will get elected.
The example of Reagan changing his stance on energy use to

Write An Essay On The Malagans
The Malagan s are a particularly peaceful society because their authority figures are women, and
women tend to be less aggressive rulers. (Miller 2014) Although Malagana has their own government
like system, they are regulated by the Madagascan government. Their fishing exports are regulated by
Madagascar, as well as their imports. If the Malagan s were ever confronted with conflict with another
group the Madagascan government would have the obligation to intervene and keep the peace.
First off, they Malagan people are tremendously peaceful. Within the society, there is barely any
crime. Law enforcement is provided my Madagascar, and they rarely have to do work. If the Malagan
s were to be introduced to a weaker society, they would immediately attempt to form an alliance. The
Malagan s would not try to assimilate the society, or get rid of them through genocide. They do not
seek to conquer. Instead, the Malagan s would offer their help. If the other society seems to have a
struggling way of life, the Malagan s might donate extra harvest or teach the people new ways to make
a living, but only if they are prompted. The Malagan s would only assimilate the other society if they
were asked. Many cultures do not want to change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Malagan s would possibly try to adapt the other group s ways of life in order to become more
successful. Although, if faced with conflict of assimilation, the Madagascan government would
intervene. Malagana s law enforcement system is not equipped to deal with numerous attacks and
threats due to the extremely low crime rate. Madagascar is so dependent on Malagana s exports that
the entire country s welfare would suffer if Malagana was taken over by a different society.
Madagascar is also the regulator of Malagan import and export, which means they are obligated to

1.1. WIRELESS NETWORKING INTRODUCTION
Wireless networking is an emerging technology that allows users to access information and services
electronically, regardless of their geographic position. The use of wireless communication between
mobile users has become increasingly popular due to recent performance advancements in computer
and wireless technologies. This has led to lower prices and higher data rates, which are the two main
reasons why mobile computing is expected to see increasingly widespread use and ... Show more

1.1. MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKS
1.1.1. Overview of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) consists of a set of mobile hosts that carry out basic networking
functions like packet forwarding, routing, and service discovery without the help of an established
infrastructure [1]. Nodes of an ad hoc network rely on one another in forwarding a packet to its
destination, due to the limited range of each mobile host s wireless transmissions. An ad hoc network
uses no centralized administration. This ensures that the network will not cease functioning just
because one of the mobile nodes moves out of the range of the others. Nodes should be able to enter
and leave the network as they wish. Because of the limited transmitter range of the nodes, multiple
hops are generally needed to reach other nodes. Every node in an ad hoc network must be willing to
forward packets for other nodes. Thus, every node acts both as a host and as a router. The topology of
ad hoc networks varies with time as nodes move, join or leave the network. This topological
instability requires a routing protocol to run on each node to create and maintain routes among the
nodes [21].

aa100 assignment 1. octavian versus plutarch on anthony
Assignment 01
Compare and contrast the ways in which the passage below attempts top discredit Anthony with the
ways this is done in the speech attributed to Octavian die ( in reading 1.1 of book 1. Chapter 1.)
It is very obvious when reading both passages that whilst Plutarch and Octavian had similar but also
differing opinions about Mark Anthony and his relationship with Cleopatra, they are both guilty of
putting their own negative spin on the situation. They both use different approaches to the subject but
the end result is the same. Anthony is portrayed as a man who has lost his way and in doing so, has
sunk to the lowest levels of society .The one thing they both agree on, is that Cleopatra had a very
negative effect on Anthony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He cites several cases where Anthony disregards his fellow roman man e.g. on one occasion Octavian
discovered the contents of Anthony s will to his disgust. he had left orders that his body should be
carried in state through the forum but then sent to Egypt to be with Cleopatra this was seen as being a
huge insult to the roman empire. He also cites several while he was sitting on the tribunal
administering juice to kings and tetrarchs, he would receive love letters written on tablets of onyx or
crystal and starts to read then aloud. Plutarch makes it very clear that Anthony should have not
allowed himself to behave like a love stuck puppy but stood up to Cleopatra and behave like a man of
honour.
When we compare Octavian s passage, his thoughts are quite different. He believes Anthony was a
man bewitched. He argues that no man in his right mind would behave in such a scandalous way
.without thought or caring for his fellow noblemen. He say she is either blind or accursed and so being
enslaved by her he plunges into war with all its attendant dangers which he has accepted for her sake
against his country and fellow noblemen.
Looking at both passages we see the similarities but also see the differences...it is a great example of
the problems we have trying to make sense of ancient history. Ancient historians never collected facts
or proof.

If you live in Florida or you are planning to pass by for a few days, there are two great choices to
spend 2 or 3 days of vacation time. The obvious choice if you have kids would be Walt Disney World
Resort, but there is also Universal Studios Resort, which could be better for kids older that 8 or 10. In
terms of size, Disney World is far larger and have four theme parks, while Universal Studios have only
two. Each park seems to be perfect for one day, and that is the same for both Disney and Universal. If
what is important for you is the amount of attractions, then you should know that despite the size,
Universal Studios has more concentrated and it is far more easy to do every ride of a park in just one

General Opinions:
This book, when you cut to the heart of the matter, talks about leaders involving people, making
people feel good about themselves and what they do.
Much of the book discusses why this is true by explaining how the brain operates. There is discussion
how neurotransmitters work and how neural chemical reactions occur in the brain. These explanations
are done in lay terms so that anyone can understand them.
There are also examples given of how this has worked. And some examples are given where, due to

The whole concept of how one person s mental state can influence all those around them was very
interesting to me. Along with that how the four EI domains (Self Awareness, Self Management,
Social Awareness, and Relationship Management) are learned abilities.
For much of my life I thought that these were attributes that you either had or did not have, or that if
they were learned at all it was while you were very young and you were then set for life . I was glad to
read that research shows that these attributes can be learned later in life, that it just takes more time
and more effort.
So, the concept, noted above, that the brain can be reprogrammed to operate differently than it had
been trained to operate was very eye opening to me. That we are not hard wired from birth is very
meaningful to me. It tells me that I can continue to grow as a person and improve myself in how I deal
with others. If I only continue long enough I can and will improve all four areas of EI, but for me,
most importantly Relationship
Management.
Another important concept, for me, was that the brain can grow new cells. This indicates that decline
in mental capacities, as we age, is not necessarily inevitable. It also means that we can develop new
skills as we age. With people living and working longer, it s good to know that we can continue to
remain (mentally) active and productive. While
I m not (yet) what most people would consider old, I know people who have stopped exercising, and

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI)
INTRODUCTION The University of North Carolina Central is located in Durham, North Carolina.
The US National Library of Medicine National Institution of Heath states that in 2009 it was reported
that 65 Percent of HIV infected people receiving care had undetectable viral loads. There were many
reasons that prevented people from getting tested such stigma, fear, and denial of risk, included costs,
transportation, and low medical literacy (Bartlett, Kolman, Proeschold, 2009). It is important that
students become aware of ones surroundings and learn how to protect themselves. One needs to get
over their fear to prevent damage that cannot be reversed. College provides an abundance of freedom

Exposure to drugs and alcohol directly increases the amount of risky sexual activity students engage
in, and the college environment provides an opportunity to have sexual encounters with multiple
partners, even in a casual context, often without condom use or other forms of contraception. These
students are at heightened risk for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, and unwanted pregnancies.
Research in this area has relied on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to identify beliefs and
attitudes that might predict sexual risk taking. However, the TPB model does not take into
consideration other factors that might influence sexual behaviors such as past sexual history, moral
beliefs, self esteem, family expectation, and peer influence. College is a time for experimentation and
discovering the world around you. More importantly, it is when one discovers him or herself. Being
away from home is a new found freedom that most freshmen have not experienced before. On college
campuses and more specifically historically black institutions students are becoming a victim of their
own freedoms. Sexually transmitted infections are on the rise and education and awareness is key in
the fight against it. Without getting into religion or personal beliefs saying someone has too much sex
or other risky behaviors is hard to do, but limiting these behaviors as well as taking preventative

Intelligence Trap
What holds me back from becoming an improved critical thinker is a method of thinking called the
intelligence trap. The intelligence trap, founded in Edward de Bono s book, de Bono s Thinking
Course. The intelligence trap is when an opinion is formed initially and then due to higher intelligence
or practice in debating, is naturally able to defend the opinion, even against scrutiny. This cause a trap
where there no need to seek out other opinions, results, or contradiction due to others inability to
successfully challenge the opinion. My father loved to debate when I was an adolescent, and I
emulated this at a young age. Unfortunately, he was more interested in winning rather than making a
cohesive argument. At the end of every argument or disagreement, he had to be the victor. Eventually,
I was able to hold my opinions against him. But this is how I devolve into this trap, I learned how to
defend my already formed position, but not necessarily taking the time to flush out the details, or seek
alternatives. I was taught and eventually saw it as a weakness to dawn a new opinion in the middle of
the moment. I developed my method of defending myself over time growing after every confrontation.
My vernacular grew as I senesce. This only increased my confidence incrementally. ... Show more

This article addresses a controversial issue that has remained secret for years. Twenty nine courageous
women have come together to tell their stories about how Bill Cosby sexually abused them. They

even underage at the time it happened and they were afraid at that time to come public with this issue.
Almost all the women say that they know even more victims, but they are afraid to step into the public

tangible proof that those statements are true. In my opinion Bill Cosby should be charged or even
imprisoned for these unlawful acts, because why would

U.s. Federal Campaign Finance Reform Proposal
One main issue raised by presidential hopefuls revolves around campaign money received by
candidates, donated by multi million dollar corporations. Although it remains illegal for these
corporations to directly donate large sums of money to political campaigns and political parties, the
fear that political and judicial figures in the American political systems are being bought out by these
affluent corporations still worries an inordinate amount of people in the United States. In 2009, the
Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United v. FEC whether these wealthy companies had the
constitutional right to air advertisements they paid for using company expenditures. Similar to
Supreme Court cases within the past half century, the case suggests that ... Show more content on

However, it is not money they seek; rather favors and special privileges earned by donating the
supplies and monetary funds necessary for the candidate to win. Albeit to some, these favors may be
menial, but to others, it could mean permission to adjourn laws that may pertain to them. A
corporation, for instance, may have inspectors and officials turn a blind eye to human and workers
rights violations. Likewise, similar campaign finance proposals began to start limiting the regulation
of campaign financing, however, the next notable campaign act Congress enacted did not happen until
the latter portion of the 20th century.
Before 1971, political figures still had leeway in the financing of their campaigns. However, Congress
tightened down on campaign financing, and began to restrict the permissible activities candidates
could expedite in, beginning in 1971. The first component of the bill demanded that all candidates

could, for the most part, receive and spend contributed campaign money any way they seemed fit for
the success of their campaigns, though previous acts had heightened the stipulations of this money.
Furthermore, this act enacted restrictions on the permissible amounts of money candidates could
spend on advertisements (appendix 4). Although advertisements had not

Pride Of Reputation In Beowulf
Beowulf is a piece of Anglo Saxon literature that is expressed in Old English and provides an image of
early medieval times. It is known as one of the greatest epic poems ever written. The main character,
Beowulf, displays personality traits that set him apart from the other warriors. The bond between
family and clans shapes the powerful warrior s action that would either form an alliance to help
protect against enemies or gain enemies. There are many elements that are significant to a person s
life. In Beowulf, establishing reputation is one of the most important aspects in life. In the Anglo
Saxon culture, when a man has a higher reputation, he will most likely have a stronger respect and
trust amongst other warriors. Each character has a reputation that plays a role in society. Having a
superior reputation can make someone have a recognition in a part of the history. In every epic poem,
a character becoming too concerned with his image is the main flaw that causes problems. The
character only thinks about their image and not what is best for them in order to overcome challenges.
However, in Beowulf, this pride of reputation helps enhance him as a great warrior. Beowulf is
establishing his reputation through his building blocks of challenges he will have encountered.
Reputation is the defining concept because Beowulf is constantly concerned of how people view him.
In the beginning of the poem, when Beowulf first met the Danes, he was concerned with how their

Analysis Of The Borden War Measures Act
The Borden War Measures Act The War Measures Act was introduced in 1914 as a way to give

However the idea of protecting the populace did not come to be. Both civilians and the federal

enabled war profiteering and the unfair treatment of those classified as Enemy Aliens . Abuse of the

The reason why such a poorly made weapon was made standard issue in the Canadian military was
because of Sam Hughes the Minister of Militia and Defence who drew serious criticism when he
defended it against growing evidence of its deficiencies in combat (8). But the War Measures Act was
also to blame since it enabled the government to control ...trading, exportation, importation,
production and manufacture; (9). Had the War Measures Act not been in place better quality products
for soldiers could have been produced. But it would also be ignorant to not acknowledge that industry
in Canada had grown because of the war. The war called for vast quantities of shells for artillery and
Canadian factories produced a large majority of shells. However at the start of production, Sam
Hughes, initially established a Shell Committee to coordinate production, but its failure to deliver on
contracts led to angry recriminations between Canada and Britain and widespread rumours of
corruption. (10). It was not until a new production company, the Imperial Munitions Board, was
established under toronto businessman Joseph Flavelle did production start to pick up. Since the board
was organized according to sound business practices and hired professional managers to oversee its
operations (11). This displays that under civilian control, production in factories would run smoother

  • 2. Personal Reflection Of Personal Writing Hi Professor Savage, You mention in your email quite a few references to my writing having some serious issues, yet in the grading not one example was pointed out . I ask that if you believe the same applies to any part of the draft submission that you highlight at least the one that will explain any significant point deduction. More, importantly, I would like to know exactly where I can use improvements, plus I prefer clarity as to where and/or why points were taken off in this class. Sometimes stylistic choice is mistaken for poor writing or incoherent or illogical as you suggested. I have not come across any professor that has said so much about my writing (negatively) and not offer any example. A link in this case is not exactly the solution for all that was implied. Anyhow, my main goal is to focus on where I can fix it myself, so please. show where, next time thanks. You said, The essay is not intended to be a personal reflection or a guide for writers but rather an advocacy for an idea. The journal and notes came across reflective, well, because they re preliminary tools, the scaffold to the final, right. I understand the draft and final are 3rd POV, backed by annotation, and my opinion as well, but not delivered as a personal narrative. The backstory was merely to show I am speaking from some experience. We cannot advocate what we don t understand, sure credible annotations are needed, but self publishing is a hands on approach, therefore, subjective, too. I m concerned about a few things, and then again, not so much knowing all these assignments leading to the actual final submission are meant to serve us as a form of outline the chaos, ironed out. As you must be aware brainstorming can happen at any stage. However, I do have a few comments on some changes you suggested (thanks) and those I have in mind. You said, concisely, , and I assure you my aim for the final, I don t worry too much at these stages, as I will rigorously edit, revise and chisel away from the draft, and then polish for the final. Furthermore, incorporate any feedback if given and are applicable from the workshop and your grading notes. I m not fond of MindEdge s outline approach, but I do get the gist, while still using what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. MRAP Program Essay The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) program differ from a normal procurement program by being a relatively available commercial off the shelf (COTS) vehicle, senior leadership involvement, and ample funding. The MRAP program acquisition methodology should not be repeated for other major defense acquisition programs. Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) became a wicked problem for the U.S. military in Iraq, especially for the ground forces. The MRAP program was a leadership driven, a partial operational solution, not a strategic solution. Accordingly, the MRAP program showcased positive and negative effects of a rapid acquisition process. Strategic leaders must allow operational and tactical leaders to define requirements. Strategic leaders should establish prioritization of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The MRAP program followed the normal defense acquisition process, but some aspects of the program cannot be duplicated easily. Conatser and Grizio outlined four requirements for a rapid acquisition process mature technical solution, user s acceptance of a short term solution, full support by the leadership, and full funding. The MRAP program met all these requirements. There were several MRAP type vehicles already in full production mode that just needed to be mass produced. Using multiple vendors allowed quick mass production of MRAPs. Although later shown to be insufficient to defeat all IED threats as the Insurgents increased the size of IEDs and used Explosive Formed Projectiles (EFP), the commanders in Iraq accepted MRAPs. There were several politicians pushing the U.S. military to procure MRAPs quickly as possible. In 2007, Secretary Gates made MRAP the top DoD acquisition priority. Lastly, the Congress allocated sufficient funding for the MRAP program. Secretary Carter cites the MRAP program as an example of how much can be accomplished with the full backing of leaders in Congress and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. American Sign Language ( Asl ) Classifiers are handshapes we use in American sign language (ASL) to show the movement, placement, orientation, size, and shape of a noun. Since ASL is a rule governed language when using classifiers you must first identify the noun, then you can use the classifier to show how the object moves or is placed in relationship to other objects (Aron). American sign language uses eight different kinds of classifiers for specific categories. Since classifiers cover a wide variety of uses there are several categories that a classifier can be used for, as a Descriptive classifier (DCL) which is used for describing an object or a person. The story TIMBER the signer describes a lumberjack s appearance. The signer describes the lumberjacks large muscles and large chest; he describes the plaid shirt the lumberjack is wearing as well. Locative Classifiers (LCL) are representing an object in a specific place and sometimes movement. The handshape is given followed by spatial or locative information. In the story TIMBER the signer uses several Locative classifiers, one of them is when he shows the forest being in front of the lumberjack. Another classifier is the Semantic Classifier (SCL) that represents a category of nouns such as a vehicle or a person. The handshape is given then information about specific movement. In the story TIMBER the signer uses the semantic classifier to show a person walking in the woods as well as a tree about to fall. Plural Classifiers (PCL) indicates ... To ensure your writing has clarity you can read it out loud, try and make it sound as naturally as possible.Try not to use scientific terms so it is more understandable for regular people you can use the scientific terms but not by itself use them more a definition of what you are trying to explain. 2.From my understanding key phrases are a phrase that gives the writing meaning or a strong point across. • 6. Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare is actually the inventor of what we refer to as Freudian psychology, and we see this at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other plays. Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Humanity has searched for their significance and meanings, from the Old Testament dreams of Pharaoh and of Jacob s dream of the ladder, to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as being messages from the gods. These vivid images that arise in the unconscious mind contain elements of our personal identity, segments of our daily lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream, seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the audience is dropped into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the events that led to where they ... • 7. Gm s Argumentative Analysis A positive spotlight shines on the GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado, a pair of midsize pickup trucks with an available turbo diesel engine. In light of the Volkswagen diesel scandal, GM has managed to undergo extra scrutiny of its new to the US market turbo diesel engine and has emerged with both its reputation and its mileage claims intact. Indeed, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado 4x2 equipped with a 2.8 liter, four cylinder turbo diesel is EPA rated at 31 mpg on the highway. The Colorado and its GMC Canyon twin will also get 29 mpg on the highway for its 4x4 models. Not Scandalized by Volkswagen GM was preparing for EPA testing when the Volkswagen scandal broke in September. In response, the EPA noted that it would pay extra special ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Ram model is the first light duty pickup with a diesel offered in about 15 years. Only heavy duty models have offered diesel variants, trucks powered by substantial turbo diesel six or eight cylinder engines. Moving into diesels will give GM an immediate edge as neither Toyota nor Nissan have such choices available. Toyota is the undisputed segment leader and with its most recent update it should easily retain its position. But, for customers desiring the ultimate in pulling power up to 7,700 pounds in 4x2 trucks equipped with the trailering package and engine longevity, the GM diesels are certain to thrive. The Colorado Duramax diesel is in a league of its own, said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing. Colorado s gas models already led the segment in fuel efficiency, and the new diesel which no other non GM competitor offers on a midsize truck gives customers even greater freedom to go where they want with fewer fill ups. That range is an estimated 651 miles for the trucks 21 gallon fuel tank. The trucks are also flex fuel capable, designed to take B20 fuel 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent straight ... • 8. The Importance Of Repercussion In Dead Poets Society Robin Williams stated in the film, Dead Poets Society, that those who have now passed, [were] [f]ull of hormones, just like you. Invincible just like you feel. The world is their oyster (Williams). When people believe that they are invincible, they forget that their actions have repercussions. In the belief that the world is their oyster, obtaining the pearl inside to achieve success is nothing but a solo mission, which is apparent in the novels Oedipus the King , Death of a Salesman and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. In these literary works the repercussions from being covetous leads to hurting the ones dearest to them by risking what is important in life and eliciting self destruction. In life, rapaciousness drives a person until they lose the ability to rationalize their actions, resulting in the detachment of others. When one is greedy they lack the morality of working their way up to accomplish a goal. Instead they are steadfast in taking unnecessary risks in order to achieve. Unfortunately, they compromise their relationships as well.To start off with, Family is the most important factor in one s life. Risking it, regrettably ensues problems in the relationships with others. For instance, Biff from Death of a Salesman has an ongoing disagreement with his father, Willy. The two cannot seem to get along because Biff believes his father has had the wrong dreams (Miller 138). In contrast, Biff himself cannot seem to find a job in the plight of his own ... • 9. Homelessness And Poverty And Homelessness Imagine a world where it is illegal to sit down. Could you survive if there were no place you were allowed to fall asleep, to store your belongings, or to stand still? For most of us, these scenarios seem unrealistic to the point of being ludicrous. But, for homeless people across America, these circumstances are an ordinary part of life. (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty 7) While a portion of today s society turns a blind eye to the subject of the criminalization of homelessness, an even larger quantity of people are not aware of the situation that is happening in every major city of America. For those living an affluent lifestyle, it can be difficult to discuss the amount of poverty and homelessness that is constantly occurring. The definition and meaning behind the absence of home is also arduous to discuss. While homelessness is commonly associated with sleeping outside or in provisional areas, this word also identifies with an absence of belonging. This absence of belonging can relate not only to a community, but also to the people that dwell there (Baumohl 3). Within the portion of those who are aware of the homelessness situation, there is a section that detests the poverty stricken persons of our society. These biased members of the American population express their antipathy in several ways. It is necessary to reveal the privileges that homeless persons have been violently stripped of, and expose and broadcast the freedom they are entitled to. Through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This process provided nutrients, food, and energy to the plants and animals in the area, allowing the food chain to be secure. The temperature of the water should be between 68 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperatures go lower than the range, or higher, some organisms who use the coral reef as a habitat may not be able to adapt or survive in the new conditions. The density of the coral reef affects the communities of animals and other biotic factors since some of them can only survive between certain depths of the water. The buoyancy level of the water in the coral reef contributes to the ability to move for the animals. Buoyancy is the force that supports an organism s weight. The salinity level in a coral reef is greater than the salinity in a freshwater ecosystem. If the salinity levels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. Why Recreational Hunting Of Western Canada Is Morally... In his letter titled Why Recreational Hunting in Western Canada is Morally Justified, Sven states that he is arguing for responsible hunting where the primary benefits are the pleasure of hunting animals in the wilderness and eating their meat. Despite several strengths, his weaknesses in reasoning outweigh the few positives. Thus, the letter s overall worth is negligible. The letter s weaknesses in reasoning lie in Sven s central justifications for recreational hunting, being human pleasure and eating meat, in his supporting argument for animal suffering, and in his failure to define recreational hunting s necessity. To begin, I will address the strengths of Sven s letter. The first strength is that Sven defines his argument s parameters, allowing him to eliminate several counterarguments against his claim. Sven specifies that the hunting type he argues for does not include killing for protection or sustenance, nor negligent hunting practices that promote needless harm to humans, property, or wildlife. Additionally, Sven rejects using bait or vehicles. Sven s most significant strength is when he defines the moral relationship between humans and animals, stating, [a]nimals deserve respect, but so do humans, and when there is conflict of interests, the interest that humans have in feeding their families must prevail. Stuart Rachels, in his evaluation of Utilitarianism, argues that humans are special in many ways but are not the only beings capable of suffering, and thus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Society s Impact On Wealth And Elite Social Status Increase in wealth during the post agriculture period impacted elite social status greatly. Elite social status was a great deal to the wealth people in this era. They would do everything in their power to ensure that their social status was unharmed. The wealth made the wealthier individual s feel higher and separated from the common people. The increase in wealth allowed room for elite to make rules that were to be governed in sexual relationships. It was so important to pass on the elite social status and wealth that it became codified as written laws for the elite. Wealth impacted the elite because it controlled who they could marry in order to pass on the social status. The most acceptable form of a relationship that would form into a marriage in an elite social status would be a relationship between a man and a woman, both coming from elite families. The wealth would then be able to be passed down, which exemplifies the impact wealth had on the elite social status. Elite men that formed relationships with a non elite woman would only be viewed her as a mistress for sexual pleasure. A elite woman and a non elite man would cause shame to be brought upon her family and the man could possibly be murdered for his actions. There were exceptions where a wealth family would adopt non elite males and raise them to be elite. Overview of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) consists of a set of mobile hosts that carry out basic networking functions like packet forwarding, routing, and service discovery without the help of an established infrastructure [1]. Nodes of an ad hoc network rely on one another in forwarding a packet to its destination, due to the limited range of each mobile host s wireless transmissions. An ad hoc network uses no centralized administration. This ensures that the network will not cease functioning just because one of the mobile nodes moves out of the range of the others. Nodes should be able to enter and leave the network as they wish. Because of the limited transmitter range of the nodes, multiple hops are generally needed to reach other nodes. Every node in an ad hoc network must be willing to forward packets for other nodes. Thus, every node acts both as a host and as a router. The topology of ad hoc networks varies with time as nodes move, join or leave the network. This topological instability requires a routing protocol to run on each node to create and maintain routes among the nodes [21]. 1.1.1. Mobile Ad hoc Networks Usages Wireless ad hoc ... For much of my life I thought that these were attributes that you either had or did not have, or that if they were learned at all it was while you were very young and you were then set for life . I was glad to read that research shows that these attributes can be learned later in life, that it just takes more time and more effort. My father loved to debate when I was an adolescent, and I emulated this at a young age. Unfortunately, he was more interested in winning rather than making a cohesive argument. At the end of every argument or disagreement, he had to be the victor. Eventually, I was able to hold my opinions against him. But this is how I devolve into this trap, I learned how to defend my already formed position, but not necessarily taking the time to flush out the details, or seek alternatives. I was taught and eventually saw it as a weakness to dawn a new opinion in the middle of the moment. I developed my method of defending myself over time growing after every confrontation. My vernacular grew as I senesce. This only increased my confidence incrementally. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although it remains illegal for these corporations to directly donate large sums of money to political campaigns and political parties, the fear that political and judicial figures in the American political systems are being bought out by these affluent corporations still worries an inordinate amount of people in the United States. In 2009, the Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United v. FEC whether these wealthy companies had the constitutional right to air advertisements they paid for using company expenditures. However, it is not money they seek; rather favors and special privileges earned by donating the supplies and monetary funds necessary for the candidate to win. Albeit to some, these favors may be menial, but to others, it could mean permission to adjourn laws that may pertain to them. A corporation, for instance, may have inspectors and officials turn a blind eye to human and workers rights violations. Likewise, similar campaign finance proposals began to start limiting the regulation of campaign financing, however, the next notable campaign act Congress enacted did not happen until the latter portion of the 20th century. Before 1971, political figures still had leeway in the financing of their campaigns. However, Congress tightened down on campaign financing, and began to restrict the permissible activities candidates could expedite in, beginning in 1971. The first component of the bill demanded that all candidates running to fully disclose their full campaign finance report (Appendix 4). Before this, candidates could, for the most part, receive and spend contributed campaign money any way they seemed fit for the success of their campaigns, though previous acts had heightened the stipulations of this money. The war called for vast quantities of shells for artillery and Canadian factories produced a large majority of shells. However at the start of production, Sam Hughes, initially established a Shell Committee to coordinate production, but its failure to deliver on contracts led to angry recriminations between Canada and Britain and widespread rumours of corruption. Since the board was organized according to sound business practices and hired professional managers to oversee its operations (11).
