Contemplative practices can take several forms, including meditation, prayers, and certain physical
exercises such as yoga. Before taking Education in the USA, I had spent very little time participating
in these practices except for the occasional yoga session my former tennis coach would instruct me to
attend. However, these were cases of me superficially participating in that practice. Since participating

words in the center of the room I have become increasingly aware of the importance of these practices

opinion, the respective purposes of these different contemplative practices have been to cultivate a
sense of mental calmness while taking a break from our busy lives, identify the importance of fully
embracing the present moment, and expose us to different viewpoints and reactions regarding certain

Dr Pepper has been around for years. Nowadays this beverage might be your favorite soft drink but it
wasn t always so popular. It had to endure many hardships on its journey to where it is today. There
was also a lot of luck and dedication involved. You might not even know where the beverage even
comes from. Well I think it s about time you found out.
In 1885, at a drugstore in Waco Texas, a man by the name of Wade Morrison had hired Charles
Alderton. Alderton was a pharmacist but he also served soft drinks to his customers. Back in that time
there weren t as many soft drink selections to choose from so Alderton would often combine

In order to keep the trend going A man name Robert Lazenby, a chemist, decided to work with
Morrison to form the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Works in the year 1891. This event was
able to get the town of Waco to be able to reproduce the soft drink. During this time the company had
its first slogan. It was a simple slogan that just said Drink Dr Pepper, This slogan would be used for
the company and the drink for a while. This company ran for about 29 long years until it was
purchased in 1920. The company who bought Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Works was
another manufacturing and bottling company known as Southwestern Soda Fountain. They would

Pepper had taken its first logo and second slogan. To replace the old slogan the new one had taken a
