Jovian Planets Research Paper
I would have to say that the atmospheres of Jovian planets and the atmospheres of terrestrial planets
similar because they are all part of the same primordial solar nebula. Another similarity is that, they
both move around the Sun at an angle orbit with changing eccentricities. Despite the fact, the Jovian
and terrestrial planets differ in structure, they both have a solid core which in turn makes the cores of
the terrestrial planets are larger than the cores of the Jovian planets.
The textbook defines Jovian planets as the Jupiter like planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
These planets have relatively low densities (Lutgens Tarbuck, 2011, pg 430). The atmospheres of the
Jovian planets in our solar system are made mostly of hydrogen

Perfect College Essay
As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I
wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a
campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the
right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one
perfect college.
I filtered my search to include colleges located within the United States. Furthermore, I did not look at
any colleges that do not provide a cyber security or computer science degree. Following my
investigation, the few colleges that did satisfied my prerequisites, were vetted once again. I had to
consider which college could provide me the necessary resources to start a career. I found that most of

I found many entries online from ivy league students who shared their campus experiences. The
entries indicated that many of their students are stressed, constantly tired and in poor health due to
stress of the academic standards. Their students are used to easy A s, but in the ivy league institutions,
they are loaded with work and cannot deal with the unacceptable grades. I experienced that situation
when I attended the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, a boarding school for juniors and
seniors that provide college level classes. I was on antidepressants and went to therapy in an attempt
to cope with the taxing environment. I did not want to go through that feeling again at Cornell. I hoped
for the best as I investigated the lifestyle of OSU IT. I scheduled a campus tour and instantly felt at
home. It is a small college in a rural town, and the environment felt warm. Even though the school is
academically challenging, the school provides relaxation areas and counseling. Even though I did not
visit Cornell, I knew from past research that the school did not provide such comfort as

How Does Goya Design Transcend Into Modern Caricature And...
Baudelaire once said, Caricatures are often the most faithful mirror of life. The art of caricature was
established into print in eighteenth century England as a form of commentary on the current events of
the time. Caricature as a style itself is a combination of two separate social inventions. Caricature
Adopting the Italian invention of caricatura the graphic exaggeration of facial and bodily features for
comic effect and combining it with an updated repertoire of visual metaphor, personification, and
allegorical attributes. Though born in England, the story about to be told in this paper is one of
Spanish origin, a story about Francisco Goya. This paper will discuss how Goya implemented
painting, drawing, and printing technique to stimulate social critique of and satirize the subjects of his
works. Then how does Goya s methodology transcend into modern caricature and social critique?
Before one can talk about his prints, one must understand who Francisco Goya is as an artist. Goya
was a Spanish romantic painter and printmaker of late 18th and early 19th centuries and throughout
his long career was an important commentator and chronicler of his era. Goya produced a great
number of works in a variety of media in his lifetime. He did religious subjects in painted frescos and
portraits, he then also depicted life in Spain through aquatints, etchings, and lithographs . Gautier

Biochemical Approaches On The Import Of Genetics Essay
Sociogenomics: Biochemical Approaches to Study the Import of Genetics in Social Behaviours
Literature Review
Sociogenomics is a relatively new research area that isn t very well understood. Scholarly articles
(e.g., Roberts Jackson, 2008) describe it as a field that explores the following: the identification of
genes that influence social behavior, the understanding of the influence of these genes on underlying
neural and endocrine mechanisms, and understanding the effects of the environment, particularly the
social environment, on gene action.
Technological advances paired with impressive progress in molecular biology and genomics make this
an appropriate time to attempt to understand the molecular basis of social life.
In Psychology 241, we were introduced to the OPRM1 gene, which is a single nucleotide
polymorphism (SNP). This gene can vary, in people, by a single nucleotide (A ↔ G). Ways et al.
(2009) discovered that people with the G allele showed more pain activation after social rejection. In
addition, these subjects show reduced opiate potency and, therefore, need more morphine to
counteract both physical and social pain. Ultimately, from this study, scientists made the novel
discovery that specific genetic mutations (i.e. OPRMI allele) can affect our social and psychological
behaviors (i.e. tolerance to social rejection).
Furthermore, scientists have recently claimed that the actual expression level of genes, at any given
time, also affects our social

When driving past a golf course on a brutally hot or substantially cold day, citizens always seem to ask
themselves why are these people golfing today? Through the centuries men and women both have

lives in multiple ways with it providing better business opportunities, building character within
oneself, and also a game that can be played for an entire life time. When golfers are playing golf, the
golf course is not the only one able to make a profit that day. The golfer could be bringing clients out
for a day of fun filled golf while talking business. Players only spend a small portion of the four hour
game actually hitting the golf ball. In the meantime there is actually plenty of time to talk business
with the boss or possible clients. This tactic is often done by the boss of a specific company to try to
make business ties with other companies or clients wanting to get to know more information about his
company. Donald Trump, one of the most noted entrepreneurs, has even stated I have done many deals

bosses that do. Bosses of these companies will tell you they simply want to get to know clients

Isabella Baumfree, An African American Abolitionist And...
In 1797, Isabella Baumfree, an African American abolitionist and women s rights activist, was born
into slavery. Although her real name was Isabella Baumfree, the rest of the world knows her as
Sojourner Truth. Throughout her childhood, she was traded and sold to several different families, in
which she was separated from her family. Her father was a slave that was captured in Ghana and her
mother descended from slaves, so it was typical for children of slaves to be sold separately from their
families. Originally, her family was owned by Colonel Hardenbergh, but they were sold separately
soon after his death. At the young age of nine, Truth was sold for the very first time at an auction for a
measly $100 to John Dumont. She spent a total of two years with Mr. Dumont prior to being sold, in
which she was treated very poorly. Although she was treated very poorly, she learned how to speak
English during this time, which proved to be a valuable tool throughout her life. Not only did this help
her as an itinerant preacher, but it also allowed her to fight for her rights against injustices. During her
time at Mr. Dumont s, she fell in love with another slave named Robert from a neighboring farm.
Although Robert s owner forbade the relationship, Truth became pregnant and the couple had one
daughter together. After the birth of their daughter, Robert and Sojourner Truth never saw each other
again. Out of spite, Truth s owner forced her to marry an older slave, Thomas, in which she

power and uselessness of money. As we know, people of the lost generation were not the happiest and
had quite careless lifestyles. In this novel, even though characters are not poor, still, the only meaning
of life they have left is wild and free lifestyle and love. Author also did not leave out the meaningless
relationships to the society and conventions.

pGlo Transformation Lab Report
I Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to show the genetic transformation of E. coli bacteria with a
plasmid that codes for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and contains a gene regulatory system that
confers ampicillin resistance. A plasmid is a genetic structure in a cell that can replicate independently
of chromosomes. In this lab, the Green Fluorescent Protein, which is typically found in the
bioluminescent jellyfish Aequorea Victoria, was cloned, purified, and moved from one organism to
another with the use of pGlo plasmids. It was hypothesized that if bacteria that were transformed with
+pGlo plasmids are given the gene for GFP, then transformed cell colonies ... Show more content on

Next, the transformation efficiency was calculated by dividing the total amount of DNA on the agar
plate in μl by the number of cells growing on the +pGLO LB/amp/ara plate.
During the purification section of this lab, the LB/amp/ara agar plate was examined for well isolated
green colonies and the LB/amp plate was observed for white colonies with space between each other.
These colonies were circled on the outside of the plates using a marker. Next, two 15 milliliter culture
tubes containing 2 milliliters of nutrient growth media were obtained and labeled + and . Using a new
inoculation tube, the circled colonies from each plate were scooped out and immersed in their
respective culture tubes. Once the bacteria was mixed into the solution, the tubes were sealed and
placed horizontally into the 32⁰ incubator for 24 hours.
After labeling a new microtube with a marker, the culture tubes were removed from the incubator and
observed under the ultraviolet lamp. Using a sterile pipette, the contents of the (+) culture tube were
transferred to the 2 milliliter mictrotube and the ( ) culture tube was disposed of. The (+) tube was
then spun in the centrifuge at maximum speed for 5 minutes. Once it was removed from the
centrifuge, a noticeable bacterial pellet had formed at the bottom of the tube and the remaining liquid

Skinny Jeans In The 1950 s
Do you own any pairs of skinny jeans? Do you want to own skinny jeans? Can you fit into skinny
jeans? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you may have a serious disorder from love
of skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are a form fitting, thigh hugging, narrow legged type of jeans. Now let s
go back time, all the way back to the 1950 s. The term skinny jeans was invented first in the 1800 s by
Levi Strauss. Skinny jeans were another term for a kind of jeans, like Levi s slim fit jeans. Over 100
years later, the brand Levi the name taken from the real jean inventor reinvented the skinny jeans in
the 1950 s. After the reinvented jeans by Levi, skinny jeans were really introduced to the world in old
movies, usually old Western movies. Actors like Roy Rogers, the Lone Ranger, Marilyn Monroe, and
Zorro wore them in their movies during the 50 s. Performers were also a part of the skinny jeans
history. People like Elvis Presley wore them during his concerts in the 1950 s.
Quick! Now let s get going to the 1960 s.
During the 60 s, Elvis was still going strong with the skinny jean trend. During this decade, things in
the jean industry were changing. Women started wearing them to show off their curves, pushing
gender roles.

Values And Values Of The Music
Beliefs and values of oneself in music are essential to determining future musical decisions. A students
self efficacy can be highly predictive in determining levels of performance achievement (Lehmann,
Sloboda, Woody, 2007). Secondary music students who want to be quality musicians build a system of
dispositions, skills, and abilities that enable them to self regulate their learning (Hewitt, 2015). These
students generally have greater self efficacy and are more likely to engage themselves in meaningful
musical experiences to produce the best results (Hewitt, 2015). Helping students build positive self
efficacy is an important area of interest for music teachers. Oftentimes, music students spend
significant time practicing away from direct instruction or influence of their teachers, meaning that
self regulation plays a crucial role in music learning (Miksza, 2012). This paper will address important
factors like gender, examinations, and competition, and how these factors affect a student building self
efficacy in secondary music.
Effects of Gender There are many factors involved in creating musical self efficacy, and researchers
have noted that gender is among the most influential. Nielsen (2004) found that male students were
more likely to have higher self efficacy than female students in similar musical programs. He
administered a 50 item questionnaire to 130 first year music students in church music, performance,
and music education programs at six Norwegian

The assassination occurred on 28th June, 1914. The Archduke and his wife, Sophie, were travelling in
an open top car to a reception at the city hall. The Black Hand, a group of Serbian nationalists, had
previously attempted at assassinating Ferdinand, but failed. This second attempt was unplanned and a
coincidence. Gavrilo Princip happen to be waiting outside of the store he had just eaten from when he
saw the Archduke. He fired two shots killing each almost instantly. One hit Sophie and the other,
Ferdinand. (Eyewitnesstohistory.com, 2014) The Archduke was a target by Serbia and the Back Hand

Beowulf Themes
Beowulf is an epic story that relates well to the time that it was introduced by having the stories of the
epic battles and the defeats of the treacherous monsters that kept everyone entertained during this era.
Not only does Beowulf represent the era well, but it also has very interesting characters, themes and
symbols that help teach us lessons that are very much so needed in today s society.
When Beowulf arrives to the land of the Danes, as soon as they dock and get off of their ship Beowulf
shows his courage instantly by taking the lead and explaining to the guards that watched out for
raiders and enemy ships approaching who they were and where they were from so that they may
advance to the Heorot which he had heard much about. After they get inside Heorot Beowulf truly
shows his courage when he tells Hrothgar about all of the triumphs he had when he was younger and
how when he heard of their problem with Grendel and how he planned to be a match for him so that
he could be the one to bring peace back to Heorot. He also explains how he isn t afraid of death
because if he is going to die it will happen whether he wants it to or not and by doing this he gives
king Hrothgar peace by knowing that he is courageous enough to take on this challenge and not be
afraid by the terror that his people have been facing for the last 12 years.
Not only is Beowulf extremely courageous but he is the mold that hero s model themselves after he is
noble, true to his word and his unquestionable trust in his skills. When Beowulf gets to Heorot and
they begin to feast, Unfearth goes up to Beowulf, and questions the race that he and Brecca had in the
fierce open sea saying that no matter what he had done before that he would not be able to defeat
Grendel because many great warriors had come before him and his fate would be no different;
however, Beowulf has trust in his skills that God has graced him with just as he did when he raced
Brecca in the open sea. By Beowulf saying this, he is letting Unfearth know that now as well as when
he raced Brecca he is the best and will not be beaten. Beowulf then begins to challenge Unfearth s
skills by saying if he was really as courageous as he has been saying he is, then Grendel wouldn t be

Wuthering Heights And Thrushcross Knighte Analysis
Is Wuthering Heights as nice a place as Thrushcross Grange? (Brontë 329). That seems to be the
question quickly answered in the start of the novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, and the
answer is very clearly: No. In Wuthering Heights, contrast between the two main and unique places,
Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, helps to define and separate the lifestyles of the main
characters. Wuthering Heights is distinctively more dark and chaotic and is full of troubles that make
it seem a much darker place, while Thrushcross Grange is a brighter and more peaceful house. Brontë
is able to use the two contrasting places to help support the drastically different character personalities,
whether it be troublesome Catherine or her peaceful and calmer husband, Edgar. The use of the
drastically different places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, are vital to the novel because
they offer contrast in the physical houses and define the people living in them and are meaningful to
the novel by providing a deep and drastic connection to each place for the reader to separate and
understand the characters thoroughly.
The difference between Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange is literally like night and day in
the sense of drastic environmental differences that lead to a vivid contrast between the two places. As
Lockwood first comes upon Wuthering Heights, he was greeted by the dark contrast from the
surrounding town of Gimmerton. Wuthering Heights is notably

Human Relationships And The Social Psychological Theories...
Human relationships are the foundation of human life, they strongly influence other individual s
behaviour (Bercheid et al., 2000). There are different types of relationships such as co workers,
friendship, marriage which all involve a connection and therefore is an important characteristic of the
formation of human relationships (Salisch 1996). The purpose of this essay is to explore research
within human relationships and the relevant social psychological theories that have been linked with
this conflicting topic. The theories that will be discussed throughout this essay will be the attribution

To explain human relationships further, the social exchange theory can be another definite explanation
to help distinguish how we feel to be with other people and how one perceives to be with them, either
to rekindle their relationship or to question the decisions that make to be in a relationship (Kelley
1959). The social exchange theory can be defined as a term that allows behaviour to be exchanged to
allow a relationship between two people to happen (Huston et al., 2013). An individual social life
involves interactions between two people which can be viewed as social exchanges in terms of costs
and benefits (Nakagawa et al., 2013). By taking the view of human relationships the social exchange
theory argues that individuals engage in a cost benefit analysis which forms their relationship with
others (Milkie et al., 2004). When the costs and benefits are equal in a relationship, it is defined as
equitable (Siddiqui 2008). Moreover, romantic relationships may be difficult for some people as it
involves interpersonal skills in order to make them mutually satisfying therefore requires constant
maintenance. Recently, Psychologists have begun to look at the breakdown of relationships and the
characteristics which requires them to fail. The breakdown of relationship is a theory which explains
the failure of certain human relationships and the factors that may be involved such as lack

other birds that are free. Maya Angelou was an American author also a civil rights activist. When
Maya Angelou discusses the cage around the bird, that s racism. When compared to the free bird it
refers to the caged birds not having the same rights. The theme of The Caged Bird is race because it

Analysis Of The Mask Of Masculinity By Connor Beaton
It s a hard time to be male in America and that fact alone should make everyone want to change it. In
the Ted Talk The Mask of Masculinity by Connor Beaton, he described how men are faced with many
challenges throughout their whole life. This includes being taught not to have emotion and that their
highest value in life is to have dominance and control. If they portray any kind of feminine traits like
singing, dancing or love, they are automatically not a real man anymore. Beaton claims that the
biggest challenge men face is, . . . being able to overcome and move through some of the negative
stereotypes that surround masculinity. The biggest problem today is that men think in order to succeed
in life, they have to be in total control and

. Jettowyne, (The Compassionate Friends, 2011, November 4), stated, Friends don t want to say your
child s name, because they think it will make you feel bad . Being open and asking or commenting on
the child is essential in the healing process and showing support.
Other important ways to comfort a friend is by acknowledging the child s death. Crying with the
parent(s). Being available for additional childcare or rides to the funeral home. It is also important to
respect each parent s grief process.
The American Cancer Society (2015) reports some key ways to assist a friend when they are grieving:
Acknowledge the situation. Example: I heard that your_____ died. Use the word died That will show
that you are more open to talk about how the person really feels.
Express your concern. Example: I m sorry to hear that this happened to you.
Be genuine in your communication and don t hide your feelings. Example: I m not sure what to say,
but I want you to know I care.
Offer your support. Example: Tell me what I can do for you.
Ask how he or she feels, and don t assume you know how the bereaved person feels on any given day.
Being a good listener and being there is very comforting to a person in grief. Giving reassurance and
showing empathy are also key in helping a friend in need. This may be done by going on errands for
them, offering to do housework, shopping or bringing over food dishes. In addition, it is important to
remember that grieving parents may

Unit 1 Case Study Biometric Security
Biometric technologies have existed for quite some time. Recently, there has been a large increase in
the demand for more secure ways of confirming an individual s identity. Resulting from this, several
tests were created, which allow for a user to test another individual s personal characteristics and
behaviors, comparing them with the original. This allows for testing who an individual is , versus what
they know or carry. Biometric is defined as automated recognition of individuals based on their
biological and behavioral characteristics (biometrics institute). This is also a more reliable source of
verification because the user cannot simply lose their human characteristics. They also cannot be
faked or stole. Technology in these fields ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Extracurricular Activities
Extracurriculars Lead to Extra Success
Noah, an experienced employee, received a manager position at a big construction company after 24
years of working his way up the employment ladder. After receiving the position, he faced many
issues such as confrontations with co workers and issues with job production. As he faced these issues,
Noah was able to look back at his many years of wrestling, and remember how he handled
confrontations with teammates as well as handling the agony of defeat. Having gone through these
similar experiences, Noah was able to handle his work issues with confidence. This is an example of
how important extracurricular activities can be in a person s life. In order to completely prepare for
real life situations, children should participate in some form of extracurricular activity. In addition to
preparing children for real life situations, extracurricular activities are the best way to improve
students participation academically. The following statistic serves as an example. The probability that
the typical person in the sample would drop out of school is .0487, but if this same person participated
in athletics, the estimated probability would be .0299. (Holloway) When students participate in
extracurriculars, they are often forced to talk to others and form relationships with people. These
relationships will most likely improve academic participation because the kids will feel more
comfortable going to school with someone they know. The more comfortable a student feels during
school, the more likely they are to put in more work academically and ultimately be more successful.
Along with feeling more confident, extracurricular activities keep kids from getting in trouble. Kids
are less likely to be doing something they shouldn t if they focus on something like an extracurricular
activity. Holloway also writes: Recent research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities
may increase students sense of engagement or attachment to their school, and thereby decrease the
likelihood of school failure and dropping out . School pride is something that is promoted throughout
all of adolescence. Those students that feel more involved in their school, are less likely to drop out

Homosexuality By Andrew Sullivan Summary
In Andrew Sullivan brief essay What is a Homosexual Sullivan speaks of the relationship that society
has with the idea of someone being a homosexual. He also brings up the struggles and different coping
mechanisms that one will take to avoid being exiled by society. While some embrace their sexuality
like Sullivan s class mate who insisted on wearing full makeup to school, others for instance would try
to out jock the jocks (128) fight for respect for if they could only gain that then nothing else would

The Story Of Rubik s Cube
Today I want to share my particular story of Rubik s Cube with you. I had an interview with one
university admission office last November. It was a pleasant experience overall, however, when I
mentioned Rubik s Cube to the officer, he did not seem fascinated at all. It makes me reflect on my
affection of Rubik s Cube. Just like the interviewer, many people consider it as one type of the toys,
since they do not know much about it. In my opinion, I think Rubik s Cube is more than just a toy. It
has always been a brain sport and even part of life to me. After I got rejected from Cornell, I was not
disappointed but sad. I started to realize that the Rubik s Cube would be more influential if more
people know and understand it. As a result, I began

First Amendment and Right to Privacy
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and the first right guaranteed by the Bill of
Rights, declares that there will be no law made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances (First Amendment,
n.d.). An individual s right to privacy is not guaranteed in the United States Constitution or the Bill of
Rights, however, there have been amendments created that seek to protect specific and private rights
individuals. Even so, there are limitations to what type of freedoms are protected under the First
Amendment and to what extent an individual s privacy is protected. To begin with, there are three
types of speech that are not protected by the First Amendment: obscenity, libel, and slander. Obscenity
is anything which depraves or corrupts minds open to immoral influence (Freedom of Speech, 2003).
Despite the fact that the definition of obscenity has changed throughout the years, Congress, in
general, has reached a consensus in determining that obscenity covers anything that is directed
towards or involves youths, including child pornography. For example, in 1949, the Supreme Court
upheld, in Rosenberg v. Board of Education of City of New York, that the Board of Education did not
have the right to ban schools from carrying books such as Oliver Twist and The

Disadvantages Of Derivative Contracts
DERIVATIVE is a transaction or contract whose value depends on or, as the name implies, derives
from the value of underlying assets such as stock, bonds, mortgages, market indices, or foreign
currencies. One party with exposure to unwanted risk can pass some or all of the risk to a second
party. The first party can assume a different risk from a second party, pay the second party to assume
the risk, or, as is often the case, create a combination. Derivatives are normally used to control
exposure or risk.
DERIVATIVE CONTRACT is, generally, a financial contract the value of which is derived from the

his telling of the ever changing relations between Iran and the US in 1911. Anasari describes the

Analysis Of Tobias Wolff s The Bullet Of The Brain
Tobias Wolff uses imagery in his short story Bullet in the Brain provides a visual portrait that captures
attention. He clarifies in an interview with Sanford University what short stories require, You want
large results from it, and you re compelled by its very shortness to using all your resources of
language, form and understanding (Schrieberg 1998). He uses language in the story offering instances
of imagery to describe the media critic. Anders is portrayed as weary, and elegantly savage in his
reviews. In each scene of the story Anders observes and uses biting words to offer his approval or
distaste. He uses words to critique events while waiting with the customers at the bank, with the
thieves and with the shot starting his recollections. There is a deeper vision into his brain not only with
the speeding bullet but incite to words. The use of imagery in the short story provides a distorted
image of the character Anders, not the real image of a man with the passion for words and the
happiness they create.
The bank blooms the imagery of Anders. Standing in a long line behind annoying people creates a
murderous temper within his brain. His anger builds with the closing of the teller s line, yet does not
use his vicious sarcasm to the bank employees it is the customers around him that are witness to his
venom. Damned unfair, tragic. If they re not chopping off the wrong leg, or bombing your ancestral
village, they re closing their positions (Wolff 1995). The image

Over 3000,000 people a year are arrested because of it in our country. It s recreational usage boomed
in the 1960 s and by the 1980 s one half of all college students had tried it. Once a simple plant,

Although illegal for some time now in the United States, we know of its widespread availability and

serious problems of cocaine and heroin. But should we be taking a second look at it, cracking down on

of the story is filled with darkness and misery. The son suffers from a rare form of paranoia called

Slaughterhouse Five Delusions
From the very beginning of Slaughterhouse Five the biggest question is: is it real or delusion?
Throughout the book, Billy pilgrim claims to travel through time and be abducted by aliens, but until
the later chapters, there is no solid evidence as to whether it is real or just delusion. The truth about
Billy s tale is concealed until near the end of the book when he meets Kilgore Trout and finally some
solid evidence shows that Billy s unusual adventures are just delusions and insanity. In fact, the
technique Vonnegut uses to conceal the truth is called an unreliable narrator. An unreliable narrator is

Social Dilemmas In A Divergent
Living in the society, Tris ought to be obeying the law as she is part of it. But, when she finds out

not just and fair, it even does not reach the view of Mockus by recognizing of legal, moral and social
norms that may regulate citizens behaviour . Each faction is required to focus on the responsibility and
they have different values, they do not agree to each other core virtues; therefore, one faction is not
willing to communicate with the other faction. Although during the period of ruling, there is no war
but it certainly builds up the disapproval from the Erudite faction to the moral norm and social norm
which they think they should be the one ruling the society with the intelligence more than being a

selfless as he abused his own son which leading his child to turn away from the family. Consequently,
the Erudite tries to create new social norms; however, they did not succeed. They should see the life as

instead of hiding behind and deceive people to do their work. Another reason that the Erudite plan is

Bible Contradictions And Discrepancies In The Bible

Jovian Planets Research Paper I would have to say that the atmospheres of Jovian planets and the atmospheres of terrestrial planets similar because they are all part of the same primordial solar nebula. Another similarity is that, they both move around the Sun at an angle orbit with changing eccentricities. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college. I filtered my search to include colleges located within the United States. Furthermore, I did not look at any colleges that do not provide a cyber security or computer science degree. Following my investigation, the few colleges that did satisfied my prerequisites, were vetted once again. I had to consider which college could provide me the necessary resources to start a career. I found that most of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found many entries online from ivy league students who shared their campus experiences. The entries indicated that many of their students are stressed, constantly tired and in poor health due to stress of the academic standards. Their students are used to easy A s, but in the ivy league institutions, they are loaded with work and cannot deal with the unacceptable grades. I experienced that situation when I attended the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, a boarding school for juniors and seniors that provide college level classes. I was on antidepressants and went to therapy in an attempt to cope with the taxing environment. I did not want to go through that feeling again at Cornell. I hoped for the best as I investigated the lifestyle of OSU IT. I scheduled a campus tour and instantly felt at home. It is a small college in a rural town, and the environment felt warm. Even though the school is academically challenging, the school provides relaxation areas and counseling. Even though I did not visit Cornell, I knew from past research that the school did not provide such comfort as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Biochemical Approaches On The Import Of Genetics Essay Sociogenomics: Biochemical Approaches to Study the Import of Genetics in Social Behaviours Literature Review Sociogenomics is a relatively new research area that isn t very well understood. Scholarly articles (e.g., Roberts Jackson, 2008) describe it as a field that explores the following: the identification of genes that influence social behavior, the understanding of the influence of these genes on underlying neural and endocrine mechanisms, and understanding the effects of the environment, particularly the social environment, on gene action. Technological advances paired with impressive progress in molecular biology and genomics make this an appropriate time to attempt to understand the molecular basis of social life. In Psychology 241, we were introduced to the OPRM1 gene, which is a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). This gene can vary, in people, by a single nucleotide (A ↔ G). Ways et al. (2009) discovered that people with the G allele showed more pain activation after social rejection. In addition, these subjects show reduced opiate potency and, therefore, need more morphine to counteract both physical and social pain. Ultimately, from this study, scientists made the novel discovery that specific genetic mutations (i.e. OPRMI allele) can affect our social and psychological behaviors (i.e. tolerance to social rejection). Furthermore, scientists have recently claimed that the actual expression level of genes, at any given time, also affects our social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Isabella Baumfree, An African American Abolitionist And... In 1797, Isabella Baumfree, an African American abolitionist and women s rights activist, was born into slavery. Although her real name was Isabella Baumfree, the rest of the world knows her as Sojourner Truth. Throughout her childhood, she was traded and sold to several different families, in which she was separated from her family. Her father was a slave that was captured in Ghana and her mother descended from slaves, so it was typical for children of slaves to be sold separately from their families. Originally, her family was owned by Colonel Hardenbergh, but they were sold separately soon after his death. At the young age of nine, Truth was sold for the very first time at an auction for a measly $100 to John Dumont. She spent a total of two years with Mr. Dumont prior to being sold, in which she was treated very poorly. Although she was treated very poorly, she learned how to speak English during this time, which proved to be a valuable tool throughout her life. Not only did this help her as an itinerant preacher, but it also allowed her to fight for her rights against injustices. During her time at Mr. Dumont s, she fell in love with another slave named Robert from a neighboring farm. Although Robert s owner forbade the relationship, Truth became pregnant and the couple had one daughter together. After the birth of their daughter, Robert and Sojourner Truth never saw each other again. Out of spite, Truth s owner forced her to marry an older slave, Thomas, in which she ... Pglo Transformation Essay Connor Lauffenburger 3/17/13 pGlo Transformation Lab Report I Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to show the genetic transformation of E. coli bacteria with a plasmid that codes for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and contains a gene regulatory system that confers ampicillin resistance. A plasmid is a genetic structure in a cell that can replicate independently of chromosomes. In this lab, the Green Fluorescent Protein, which is typically found in the bioluminescent jellyfish Aequorea Victoria, was cloned, purified, and moved from one organism to another with the use of pGlo plasmids. • 15. Values And Values Of The Music Beliefs and values of oneself in music are essential to determining future musical decisions. A students self efficacy can be highly predictive in determining levels of performance achievement (Lehmann, Sloboda, Woody, 2007). Secondary music students who want to be quality musicians build a system of dispositions, skills, and abilities that enable them to self regulate their learning (Hewitt, 2015). These students generally have greater self efficacy and are more likely to engage themselves in meaningful musical experiences to produce the best results (Hewitt, 2015). Helping students build positive self efficacy is an important area of interest for music teachers. Oftentimes, music students spend significant time practicing away from direct instruction or influence of their teachers, meaning that self regulation plays a crucial role in music learning (Miksza, 2012). This paper will address important factors like gender, examinations, and competition, and how these factors affect a student building self efficacy in secondary music. • 17. Beowulf Themes Beowulf is an epic story that relates well to the time that it was introduced by having the stories of the epic battles and the defeats of the treacherous monsters that kept everyone entertained during this era. Not only does Beowulf represent the era well, but it also has very interesting characters, themes and symbols that help teach us lessons that are very much so needed in today s society. When Beowulf arrives to the land of the Danes, as soon as they dock and get off of their ship Beowulf shows his courage instantly by taking the lead and explaining to the guards that watched out for raiders and enemy ships approaching who they were and where they were from so that they may advance to the Heorot which he had heard much about. After they get inside Heorot Beowulf truly shows his courage when he tells Hrothgar about all of the triumphs he had when he was younger and how when he heard of their problem with Grendel and how he planned to be a match for him so that he could be the one to bring peace back to Heorot. He also explains how he isn t afraid of death because if he is going to die it will happen whether he wants it to or not and by doing this he gives king Hrothgar peace by knowing that he is courageous enough to take on this challenge and not be afraid by the terror that his people have been facing for the last 12 years. Not only is Beowulf extremely courageous but he is the mold that hero s model themselves after he is noble, true to his word and his unquestionable trust in his skills. When Beowulf gets to Heorot and they begin to feast, Unfearth goes up to Beowulf, and questions the race that he and Brecca had in the fierce open sea saying that no matter what he had done before that he would not be able to defeat Grendel because many great warriors had come before him and his fate would be no different; however, Beowulf has trust in his skills that God has graced him with just as he did when he raced Brecca in the open sea. By Beowulf saying this, he is letting Unfearth know that now as well as when he raced Brecca he is the best and will not be beaten. • 18. Wuthering Heights And Thrushcross Knighte Analysis Is Wuthering Heights as nice a place as Thrushcross Grange? (Brontë 329). That seems to be the question quickly answered in the start of the novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, and the answer is very clearly: No. In Wuthering Heights, contrast between the two main and unique places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, helps to define and separate the lifestyles of the main characters. Wuthering Heights is distinctively more dark and chaotic and is full of troubles that make it seem a much darker place, while Thrushcross Grange is a brighter and more peaceful house. Brontë is able to use the two contrasting places to help support the drastically different character personalities, whether it be troublesome Catherine or her peaceful and calmer husband, Edgar. The use of the drastically different places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, are vital to the novel because they offer contrast in the physical houses and define the people living in them and are meaningful to the novel by providing a deep and drastic connection to each place for the reader to separate and understand the characters thoroughly. The difference between Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange is literally like night and day in the sense of drastic environmental differences that lead to a vivid contrast between the two places. To explain human relationships further, the social exchange theory can be another definite explanation to help distinguish how we feel to be with other people and how one perceives to be with them, either to rekindle their relationship or to question the decisions that make to be in a relationship (Kelley 1959). The social exchange theory can be defined as a term that allows behaviour to be exchanged to allow a relationship between two people to happen (Huston et al., 2013). An individual social life involves interactions between two people which can be viewed as social exchanges in terms of costs and benefits (Nakagawa et al., 2013). By taking the view of human relationships the social exchange theory argues that individuals engage in a cost benefit analysis which forms their relationship with others (Milkie et al., 2004). When the costs and benefits are equal in a relationship, it is defined as equitable (Siddiqui 2008). Moreover, romantic relationships may be difficult for some people as it involves interpersonal skills in order to make them mutually satisfying therefore requires constant maintenance. Essay On Extracurricular Activities Extracurriculars Lead to Extra Success Noah, an experienced employee, received a manager position at a big construction company after 24 years of working his way up the employment ladder. After receiving the position, he faced many issues such as confrontations with co workers and issues with job production. As he faced these issues, Noah was able to look back at his many years of wrestling, and remember how he handled confrontations with teammates as well as handling the agony of defeat. Having gone through these similar experiences, Noah was able to handle his work issues with confidence. This is an example of how important extracurricular activities can be in a person s life. In order to completely prepare for real life situations, children should participate in some form of extracurricular activity. In addition to preparing children for real life situations, extracurricular activities are the best way to improve students participation academically. The following statistic serves as an example. The probability that the typical person in the sample would drop out of school is .0487, but if this same person participated in athletics, the estimated probability would be .0299. (Holloway) When students participate in extracurriculars, they are often forced to talk to others and form relationships with people. These relationships will most likely improve academic participation because the kids will feel more comfortable going to school with someone they know. The more comfortable a student feels during school, the more likely they are to put in more work academically and ultimately be more successful. Along with feeling more confident, extracurricular activities keep kids from getting in trouble. Kids are less likely to be doing something they shouldn t if they focus on something like an extracurricular activity. Holloway also writes: Recent research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities may increase students sense of engagement or attachment to their school, and thereby decrease the likelihood of school failure and dropping out . First Amendment and Right to Privacy The First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and the first right guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, declares that there will be no law made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances (First Amendment, n.d.). An individual s right to privacy is not guaranteed in the United States Constitution or the Bill of Rights, however, there have been amendments created that seek to protect specific and private rights individuals. Even so, there are limitations to what type of freedoms are protected under the First Amendment and to what extent an individual s privacy is protected. To begin with, there are three types of speech that are not protected by the First Amendment: obscenity, libel, and slander. Obscenity is anything which depraves or corrupts minds open to immoral influence (Freedom of Speech, 2003). Despite the fact that the definition of obscenity has changed throughout the years, Congress, in general, has reached a consensus in determining that obscenity covers anything that is directed towards or involves youths, including child pornography. For example, in 1949, the Supreme Court upheld, in Rosenberg v. Board of Education of City of New York, that the Board of Education did not have the right to ban schools from carrying books such as Oliver Twist and The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He clarifies in an interview with Sanford University what short stories require, You want large results from it, and you re compelled by its very shortness to using all your resources of language, form and understanding (Schrieberg 1998). He uses language in the story offering instances of imagery to describe the media critic. Anders is portrayed as weary, and elegantly savage in his reviews. In each scene of the story Anders observes and uses biting words to offer his approval or distaste. He uses words to critique events while waiting with the customers at the bank, with the thieves and with the shot starting his recollections. There is a deeper vision into his brain not only with the speeding bullet but incite to words. The use of imagery in the short story provides a distorted image of the character Anders, not the real image of a man with the passion for words and the happiness they create. The bank blooms the imagery of Anders. Standing in a long line behind annoying people creates a murderous temper within his brain. His anger builds with the closing of the teller s line, yet does not use his vicious sarcasm to the bank employees it is the customers around him that are witness to his venom. Damned unfair, tragic.
