Essay about Johnson VS Madison
Johnson became the 36th President of the United States a few short hours after the assassination of
JFK. Known as one of the greatest political persuaders of the times, he sought the Greater Good of the
people. James Madison was the fourth president of the United States. Although he was president, he is
better known as the father of the Constitution . He led our fledging nation through the difficult War of
1812. Lyndon Johnson s presidency was embroiled in foreign nations as was Madison s. An advocator
of the space program, Johnson and the leaders of Russia worked things out between their two nations.
During Johnson s presidency, Vietnam became his defining moment. Unfortunately, many people
believe this to be his greatest failure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This memorial brought about the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the first of many Civil Right Acts. In 1965,
Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act which did away with literacy voting tests. These literacy tests
prevented the African American citizen from voting. He went on to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1968,
the Equal Housing Act. Interestingly enough, Johnson appointed the first black Supreme Court Justice,
Thurgood Marshall. He even surrounded himself with colored advisors so as to not appear as a
hypocrite. All the Civil Rights Acts prompted Johnson to start his Great Society ideas.
Slavery still existed during Madison s presidency so there was no great reform there. However, in
1811, Madison vetoed two bills of Congress that tried to grant land to religious congregations. His
reasons for the veto were the bills violated the non establishment clause of the first Amendment that
Madison helped write. Later that same year, Congress passed a Religious Freedom Act that Madison
signed into bill. He wrote many statements concerning the fact that church and state should be
separate and continued to live by those statements throughout his Presidency. Interestingly enough,
Madison supported the Native American populations living on American soil. In fact, he ordered the
protection of their lands from foreign invasions. In order for him to pass his Great Society , Johnson
had to seek Congressional resolution. He was very persuasive in his arguments. After all, he was a

The Media Of Indigenous Australians
Part A Media Analysis
There is a populace of 18 million in Australia with Indigenous Australians making up roughly one
percent of the Australian population. Due to this, the closest that a non Indigenous Australians will
come to have contact with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is through representation in
the Australian media. Most media stories are viewed as one sided or racist with even the Prime
Minster Tony Abbott making comments that it is a lifestyle choice for the Indigenous peoples to live
the way that they do in small communities consisting of up to 8 people. These statements that he had
made is seen as racist, leaving him open to criticism by members if his own party, friends and his
opponents. The 2 articles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This article gives the reader an inequitable view of Indigenous Australians, defending Tony Abbot s
point of view and the audience is encouraged to agree with mainstream media in regards to whether or
not Tony Abbott is racist. Article B from the Koori Mail condemns Tony Abbott s viewpoint as not
only racist but he is insulting the very culture that he is representing. Article B states that Tony Abbott
does not understand Indigenous culture and how important land is to them Connection to country is
everything to Aboriginal people defines Aboriginal people and sustains us in a cultural and spiritual
sense and can play a vital role in building economic independence, self determination and healing
(Greg Cromelin, Article B). With Article B the audience is encouraged to get angry at Tony Abbott s
comments and make him out to be racist.
Misrepresentation of Indigenous Australians in the media, as seen in the Courier Mail (Article A) and
the Koori Mail (Article B), shows a different side of Tony Abbott s comments. Each with their own
biases and by comparing the two articles it shows that good representations in the media still have a
long way to go.
Part B Research Paper
In this essay I will be discussing how the Australian media affects Indigenous Australians through
negative and positive news reports, how journalists

Traveling Into The Jungle By Joe Kane
The story starts out in Coca, a city in Ecuador. The author Joe Kane is explaining how oil is
everywhere in this city and that every outsider wants to get their hands on it to make money. He
explains how the Ecuadorian government is in control of all natural resources even though certain
tribes own the land. This means that the tribes own the land but cannot profit from all of the oil on
their land. Joe mentions that among the different native groups the Huaorani consider themselves
never to have been conquered. The Huaorani are a very fierce group and have driven away invaders
time after time for many years. Joe is traveling with Enquiri and other Huaorani into the jungle. When
traveling into the jungle he sees major oil pollution and gets

Public Relations Tactics for New Balance
1. The case reports on New Balance s strengths and weaknesses in terms of CSR. If you headed public
relations for the company, what PR tactics (aside from the CSR Report) would you undertake to
promote New Balance s many good deeds and practices?
New Balance (NB) had some great deeds and practices to flaunt on, specifically in the four categories
of overall governance, community support, operations and products and services. New Balance was
also an industry leader in many of the initiatives they took and were ranked fourth largest footwear
brand in the world. (2010, Dr. Veleva.V. New Balance Developing an Integrated CSR strategy. Page
14.) However, they have been rather shy/reluctant about talking about their various initiatives they
have implemented. In fact, their employees were also not completely aware of what the organization
was doing from a CSR standpoint. If I headed public relations for the company, I would use tactics
and strategies that targeted both internally and externally to promote the various good deeds/doings of
the company. I have explained on them below:
Internal: First, I would target our employees, as I believe employees to be spokespeople for the
company. Imparting the good deeds of the CSR doings would boost employee morale, engage or be
part of the deeds and they would like to talk about it, as they are feeling good about themselves and
the company. Some of the tactics I would use for communication are:
Creating an internal blog/forum to help

The Excavation and Discovery of Tutankhamun s Tomb Essay
The excavation and discovery of Tutankhamun s tomb was as a result of the efforts of the
Archaeologist Howard Carter and his team. Carter s discovery of the tomb came by finding steps to
the burial near the entrance to the tomb Ramses VI. The subsequent excavated of the site by Carter
and his team revealed the greatest ever treasure found from an Egyptian tomb and showed the
existence of Tutankhamun. Carter s methodology for the excavation was that of maintaining records
for each artefact and that every artefact that was brought out of the tomb was preserved appropriately.
The discovery and excavation of the tomb was a long and complex process but with it revealed much

Spider Persuasive Speech
What s an arachnid, has eight legs, and shoot venom with its fangs? Spiders. Believe it or not spiders
are on every continent of this world and are practically inescapable creatures. There are more than
forty thousand different types of spiders roaming on this earth. To make matters worse, you find
yourself home alone heading straight for your bed and their it is: a creepy, crawly beast with a leg
span of 13 inches. You find yourself in a horrific panic and don t know how to eliminate it. Here s how
you do it in three simple steps: Killing a spider involves accessing the situation, gathering killing
material, and murdering it. First, to kill a spider you must assess the situation without scaring the
arachnid away. Once you identify that the spider is moving at the speed of a greased ninja, you take a
closer look at its limitations and surroundings. Identifying if the spider is even dangerous or not is an
essential component to this process. In the meantime, research common types of deadly spiders in
your city. Is it a harmless arachnid or is it perhaps a brown recluse or maybe a black widow? Although
most spiders are completely harmless, there is a chance it could be dangerous. If the arachnid turns out
to be deadly, take a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

grab the appropriate killing tool and strike. Attempt to swat, suck up, or violently spray the arachnid.
If the spider is squirming its legs it means it is suffering and on the verge of death. Keep attempting to
murder it until it no longer moves. Once it is completely paralyzed, put on gloves and grab paper
towels to pick it up. To prevent the spread of more arachnids forming immediately throw it away and
take out the garbage. In brief, the murdering process is the last step in killing a

The Key Ideal City In Plato s Republic
Plato s Republic book IV continues with the conversation between Socrates and Adeimantus on
creating what Socrates believes would be the ideal city. A key idea that he and Adeimantus debate
over is the wealth and poverty among each class. These classes are; Auxiliary (The warriors who
enforce the rules of the Guardians, they also protect the city), The Guardians (They are responsible for
ruling the city. They are chosen from among the ranks of the auxiliaries) and the Producers (The
largest class of society but no share in ruling, they focus exclusively on producing whatever it is that
they are best suited to produce). One concept in the republic is the Noble Lie which describes each
class being born with gold, silver or bronze and iron; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Extreme poverty, however would restrict people and prevent them from getting the tools they need to
their job successfully. This links back to the previous point as either extreme poverty or wealth would
damage the state as no one would do their job. If the guardians didn t do their job and over indulged in
wealth then they may care less for their duties and therefore rules begin to breakdown
This class idea has some similarities to today s society, with social inequality being a big ethical issue;
it raises some questions to whether this ideal world that has been created would work. For example
one possible issue with the class system that are both of them have the smallest group holding the
highest/ or all of the power. This is an issue as the top percentage will only understand their needs and
wants meaning the other classes like the producers/working class are losing

Behind The Beautiful Forevers By Katherine Boo Essay
In the Novel Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo, India has entered new age of
globalization that is causing growth the Indian people have never experienced before. The booming
economy creates immense prosperity for a select group of Indians citizens, but still lacks opportunity
for most of the poor population. With this globalization comes change to the community surrounding
the people of Annawadi. The upper class citizens of India continue gaining wealth and the poor are
trapped right where they have always been as stated, There were too many people in Mumbai for them
all to have jobs (Boo pg. 13). In the novel, Kristin Boo reveals the not so pretty side of globalization
by displaying the lives of the extremely poor that live next door to some of the wealthiest sections of
Mumbai. A man named Abdul from this area of Mumbai is one of the leading figures of his slum. He
has a sharp work ethic and runs his families recycling operation. Abduls family was one of the most
well of in the slum of Annawadi at this time of prosperity. As time progresses, he gets caught up with
troubles in his village and gets falsely accused of murder by a jealous neighbor. The corruption as a
result of this accusation brings Abdul and his family s lives to a major halt, leaving him with nearly
nothing after all the rubble is cleared. Abduls life takes an unexpected turn due to globalization when
he rises to the top, gets caught up in corruption, and has to look for new

Mexican War Research Paper
Wars and Revolutions happen all around the world. Every war and revolution started because of its
own reasons. Some are to gain power, land or freedom. One revolution that stands out to me was the
Mexican War of independence. It started in 1810 and ended 1821. The war is significant compared to
the other Latin American War of Independence. The American and French Revolution influenced this
war of independence. The Mexico cannot stay behind and still be controlled by the Spanish; they
decided to start their revolution to make themselves free. After 11 years of fighting, they finally
defeated the Spain and declared themselves free. This war was significant not only because they are
the first Mexican Empire to gains independence from Spain. Also ... Show more content on

The Mexico had been conquered by Spain for many years, Many of the Mayas and Aztecs were forced
into slavery. 300 years later, Father Hidalgo began the revolt that would eventually result in Mexico s
independence. (Softschools.com) Miguel stood up the rights and defeated the Spain. He is brave
enough to defeat the Spain and bring peace and freedom to the people in 1821. Now the Mexicans got
the freedom back, thanks to Miguel. Mexicans celebrated this event every year, almost all around the
world to remember how they were struggling in the beginning of the war. September 16th is an
important day to the Mexico, they gather together and celebrate the day as a country. Its like the
Fourth of July in America, people come together and celebrate with food, song, firework.... etc.
Miguel Hidalgo has since become an important icon in the history of Mexico and a source of
inspiration for people fighting for justice. (http://www.donquijote.org) because he is the general of this
war, he led everyone toward independent. Comparing the Mexican War of Independence to the
American War of Independence, the cause of both wars is different. The Mexican War of
independence started because Mexico doesn t want to be controlled by the Spanish and started the
revolution to have their freedom back. One the other hand, the American War of Independence was

America Is A Leading Political And Economic Superpower
America is a leading political and economic superpower, most known for being the largest democracy
and being founded with unreplaceable views of freedom, civil liberties, and the iconic American
dream. Despite these great accomplishments, there is a growing problem in America that if not
handled will be the greatest mistake in American history. Strict regulation on campaign contributions
is necessary because they go against core principles of democracy including, encouraging abuse of
power, decreasing political participation, and promoting an increase in political and financial
inequality between the extremely rich and the rest of Americans. Big campaign donations promote
corruption. This is known and yet nothing is done about these giant anti democracy rulings. In 2010
The Supreme court case Citizens United v. FEC ruled that campaign funding is protected as a form of
free speech which broadens an already ridiculously unclear policy. One giant problem with this is that
PACs and other individuals or organizations can receive and donate as much money as needed if they
vow to spend the money independently from campaigns. These donors expect reimbursement. In
America today, we are seeing a rapid increase of special interests infringing on the political process
and this has to stop.
Supporters of loose campaign finance regulations argue that donations are a form of protected free
speech. They believe regulation should not interfere with the general gratitude a candidate

Analysis Of The Gilded Age
New Spirits is a major text in Gilded Age historiography because Edwards encompasses social,
political, and economic history, weaving them together into a cohesive narrative. Critics mention her
lack of footnotes (but are quick to point out that her extensive for further reading sections help to
balance this) and that her emphasis on cohesion may be overstated. Edward s thesis is that the Gilded
Age was not a patently bad time in American history, but that America underwent tremendous change,
ushering it into what has laid the groundwork for the modern nation.

Anxiety And Anxiety Disorder
Fear and anxiety are feelings that are natural human responses. These feelings are necessary in
humans and animals for survival and to deal with dangerous and stressful events. They/such feelings
help individuals cope with adverse or unexpected situations. However, there are certain individuals
who will experience these feelings on a daily basis for long periods of time. The constant fear and
anxiety interferes with individual s daily lives and it is then when these feelings become a mental
health problem, identify as Anxiety Disorders (Steimer, 2002). One of these anxiety disorders is Panic
Disorder. Panic Disorder is characterized by individuals suffering from unpredicted and constant
attacks of fear which normally last between 10 to 20 minutes. These attacks are known as panic
attacks. Panic attacks are identified by fear of losing control even in situations where there is no real
danger. Some of the most frequent symptoms a person experience when having a panic attack are
chest pain, palpitations, sweating, feeling short of breath and the feelings of going crazy or having a
heart attack (National Institute of Mental Health, 2016). Furthermore, people who suffer from Panic
Disorder often develop other conditions such as depression, phobias and drug abuse. Many people
with Panic Disorder will avoid certain situations and environments because they fear they may suffer a
panic attack. Because of this, it is also very common for individuals with Panic Disorder to develop
agoraphobia (NIH, 2016). As a consequence of fearing a panic attack, people with this disorder often
engage in catastrophic and negative thinking. A common example is my heart is beating fast, I am
having a heart attack (Steimer, 2002). Therefore, Panic Disorder is a condition that have a negative
impact on people s family, social and working lives (Kessler et al., 2005). Panic Disorder is treatable,
and numerous treatments exist which help reducing the severity of the symptoms as well as decreasing
the number of panic attacks that occur in the disorder. These treatments are biological treatment,
which involve pharmacological drugs, psychotherapy or a combination of both (National Institute of
Health and Care Excellence, 2013). This essay

James K. Polk offered Mexico 30 million dollars for the land, but Mexico turned it down. Polk then
moves troops into a disputed zone between the Rio Grande and the Nueces Riverto. Mexico still upset
about Texas, responds by sending troops out and it results in the loss of 12 U.S. soldiers. Polk uses this
and gets Congress to sign off on a war and in the course of two years proceeds to defeat Mexico. It
ends with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed February 1848, which essentially was the
submission of all land north of the Rio Grande to the U.S. The U.S. erased Mexico s debt to them,
which was about 3 million dollars and proceeded to give Mexico 15 million dollars for the land now
acquired. This land would later be known as Texas (who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later on that year, the Mexicans evicted all Americans from their property in the disputed Mesilla
Valley. In response, Governor William Lane of New Mexico declared Mesilla Valley as apart of U.S.
territory of New Mexico. Mexican President Antonio Santa Anna responded by sending troops into the
valley. U.S. President Franklin Pierce sends James Gadsden to negotiate and resolve the issue. In need
of money to fund an army to fight rebellions in Mexico, Santa Anna agrees to 45,000 square miles for
15 million dollars. The treaty was later ratified by the U.S. Senate to 29,670 square miles for 10

The two countries were still in tense conflict but seemed to help the other in times of need. While the
U.S. was fighting in World War I, Mexicans were encouraged to migrate to help out with the labor
shortage. Mexicans also fought in the American Civil War and the U.S. accepted migrants and
refugees from Mexico during the Mexican Revolution (1910 1920). Also, times were changing and
farming was not a stable enough income so many Mexican migrant workers moved from rural areas to
those participating in mining and machinery. Along with the rapid increase of Mexican immigrants
into the U.S. for job opportunities and safe haven, were immigrants coming over from many other
countries for similar reasons. This higher density in population led to a rise in crime rate. This led to

Narcissism Research Paper
Introduction In this current society, an increasing number of people discuss one controversial debate
everywhere: Are younger adults more narcissistic than previous people? In fact, when people select
one side of this debate, they are supposed to know two essential questions: what is truly meaning
about narcissism? How does this debate originate from? In general, Narcissism, originated from the
Greek mythology, is used to describe the action or habit of someone s self complacence. Surprisingly,
it has a totally different explanation in psychology. As Jean M. Twenge (2006) mentioned in her article
named On Army of one: Me, Narcissism is one of the few personality traits that psychologists agree is
almost completely negative. Narcissists are overly focused on themselves and lack empathy for others,
which means they cannot see another person s perspective (para. 22). In other words, narcissistic
people, in åa psychological view, are self centered and grim rather than obsessed with self. Therefore,
this topic actually asks people that is the younger generation grimmer and more self centered than old

experiences. Psychologists use some specific example to prove this reason. Twenge (2006) stated that
two teenagers used their gun to kill thirteen innocent people and then committed suicide in the
Columbine high school. Before they did this horrible tragedy, they recorded a videotape and said some
narcissistic words and did some cold blooded actions, like making a shooting noise , said Isn t it fun to
get the respect we re going to deserve? (Twenge, 2006, para.27). This example clarifies that younger

Student Engagement And Learning Environment
The use of technology tools is one of the key components to preparing learners for the 21st century.
However, with the overwhelming abundance of technology tools and resources, educators are faced
with the challenge of selecting and implementing the most effective tools that lead to the highest level
of student learning. Although reading and writing text has been the focus of learning for thousands of
years (Myers, 1996), developments and changes in technology have made a vast impact on recent
literacy instruction and learning. Integrating technology into classrooms prepares students to be
successful learners in a dynamic world (November, 1998). During the last half of the 20th century,
technological innovations were introduced that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research shows that students are able to manage, store, and share their work in unique ways that
creates an increase in confidence and empowerment for independent learning (Toy, 2008). Students
have opportunities for inquiry, exploration, discovery, and evaluation while utilizing technology tools
and resources. Successful technology integration should be driven by the specific content and skills of
the adopted curriculum, guided by standards of best practice. Digital Learning World (2011) reports
the following:
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has developed National Education
Technology Standards (NETS) which are a set of benchmarks that help to measure competence for the
integration of technology in education. Originally conceived in 1998, NETS have now become the
internationally recognized standards for technology in education across all international curricula.
NETS are not subject content specific but address the skills students need for the digital literacy
required for success in the 21st century standards. (p. 1)
The NETS provide a guideline of standards for the best practices supporting the development of
technology literacy for students, teachers and educational leaders. Technology integration in the
elementary school classroom is imperative for 21st century learners. Students are accustomed to quick

Persuasive Essay On Pit Bulls
As people walk down the street they pass many different dogs, dogs of various breeds. People pass
these cute, loveable creatures walking with their owners and may even coo about them, or wish their
furry friend were with them. Suddenly, they see a vicious escape psycho killer mere feet away from
them. This killer is only a pit bull, but these people associate this breed with violence, danger, and
death. While only a few number of pit bulls are dangerous, an incredible amount of people believe that
this breed are the mass murderers of the dog realm. Pit bulls do not deserve the negative perceptions
they receive because, other dog breeds are more aggressive, their behaviors rely on their owners, and
the sensationalized media about the breed. A dog s temperament is the way the react in different
situations. A dog with a good temperament can react to various situations calmly and will not be
aggressive. The American Temperament Test Society holds an event a few times a year to collect data
about different breeds temperaments and how friendly these dogs are (ATTS). The test consists of
walking in an enclosed track where the dog will react to different strangers and noises. The percent of
pit bulls that passed the temperament test is 87.4 percent. This is a shockingly high percent
considering that many people think they are creatures from the devil. Pit bulls scored way higher than
Dachshunds, 68.8 percent, and Collies, 80.6%. Pit bulls even scored higher than on of

White Tailed Deer Essay
Hemorrhagic Disease of White Tailed Deer is a phrase that describes an infection of either Epizootic
Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) and/or Blue Tongue Disease (BT). These two diseases are clinically and
molecularly very similar. Since the symptoms of both diseases are indistinguishable molecular testing
is needed to specifically identify these viruses. Both viruses are spread by biting midges in the
Culcoides genus which is found in a majority of the US. Historically, there have been large outbreaks
in the US and all over the world which has lead to economic losses of various degrees. With current

This means that the viruses are not combated in any way, because the vectors are not active during the
cold months of the year. The cold temperature is also a limiting factor of the geographic regions of
where these diseases are found. In the US the primary vector is Culcoides sonorensis. Although other
species of the Culcoides genus are known to be able to transmit these viruses this specific species is
the most prominent. Cold weather associated with the distribution of the disease also contributes to its
impact on wildlife. These late summer and early winter months are vital for deer. This is generally
when female deer give birth in the summer and breed in the early winter. Currently there is no plan for
vector control. The change in land cover has been shown to increase habitat for these vectors.
Evaluating habitat for vectors is vital in identifying sources for monitoring of the diseases. (2) Change
in land cover is associated with urbanization and climate change (5) and current practices of habitat

Battlestar Galactic A Space Exodus
Battlestar Galactica: A Space Exodus
Battlestar Galactica an epic space opera about the last remnants of humanity, the few survivors of
nuclear attack banded together in fleet of spaceships, on an intergalactic journey to find there mythic
homeland of Earth. Though there are other versions of this television show this paper refers to the
2003 reimagining by showrunner Ronald D Moore. On the surface Battlestar Galactica might not look
like it has a lot in common with The Torah, the story of the Jewish people who after an exile from
their homeland ended up founding Israel, but when looked at closely these two stories share many
commonalities. The book of Exodus, found in The Torah as well as the old testament of the Bible, tells
the story of the enslaved Jewish people who are lead, by Moses, out of Egypt and after a long and
harrowing journey arrive at a divinely promised homeland. In the following books of Numbers and
Deuteronomy we learn that Moses is forbidden from entering the Promised Land after disobeying
God. Battlestar Galactica also features a people who have lost their home, the Colonist, who end up
living under an oppressive regime on New Caprica. Their leader, President Roslin, is prophesized
about in a holy text to have been predestined to lead the Colonist to their new home. Both the
narrative in The Torah and in Battlestar Galactica share many similar beats; they feature a long
suffering people, made up of twelve tribes, searching for a promised homeland,

Comparing The Three Abrahamic Religions
The three Abrahamic religions share not just the same Supreme Being but they also share several
common themes. Many people view these three religions as separate entities but are more related than
most people would expect.
A simple commonality between the Abrahamic religions is that they all have a center of worship and
traveling to these locations is a holy obligation to these faiths. Jerusalem and the nation of Israel is the

The Rolling Stones Analysis
Documentary Review As a Rolling Stones fan, I thought it would be very interesting to watch and
review the documentary Rock of Ages: Rolling Stones. This full length documentary was produced in
2008 and gives a detailed overview of The Rolling Stones story from the very to beginning to the
present. As with most documentaries, both the bands hardships and triumphs are portrayed. I really
appreciated how the documentary was very raw and shared the major battles the members of The
Rolling Stones had with drug addiction and how it effected them both personally and professionally.

Even though I m a fan of the Rolling Stones, I never really knew their history and how Brian Jones
was the member known for building their fame. It was unfortunate to learn of his personal battle with
drug addiction that lead to the end of his career and eventually his early death shortly after he left the
Rolling Stones. Despite their loss, The Rolling Stones continued on and performed a concert shortly
after in Brian s memory. Not to my surprise, the remaining members continued on a path of struggles
with addiction.
Though they were constantly in the media for all of their scandals, I found it interesting to learn that
their struggles actually helped contribute to their fame, especially with the younger generations. In my
opinion, this set the trend for all of the other rock and roll bands to come. Reflecting on some other
rock and roll bands that come to mind, it seems that they all have one thing in common. That one
thing usually involves drug addiction that opens the door for other unfortunate events. Oddly this
brings them attention from the media that helps create their story and builds

As strangers who know that they are never going to see each other again, and who have nothing to
lose by baring their souls out, they tell each other about their lives. Once locked in together all six
share their life stories, quite like the pilgrims do in Chaucer s Canterbury Tales and discover that they
have never been living for themselves, but for others, governed by societal pressures. In a sense each
story is separate but their being together in one compartment provides the framework and holds the
story together like a ribbon holding a bouquet of different kinds of flowers of different shapes, colours
and fragrances. (Khushwant Singh; Travelling in a women s compartment) Somewhere towards the
end each story illuminates the story of Akhila who listens to all other women and tries to apply their
views and justifications in comparison to her own life.
As women give more importance to relationships and affiliations, they always give priority to the
needs and demands of others and sacrifice their own needs and desires for the sake of their home,
merging their own identity in the process. In Ladies Coupe, Akhila is governed by societal pressures
and does not live for herself, but for her family and the society, though it means sacrificing her own
individual interests. She hails from a humble Tamil Brahmin family. Her father, a government servant,

Human Computer Interaction ( Hci ) Essay
Emotion is a distinguishing feature of human beings. It is not because other beings cannot express
emotions, but we are good at grasping emotions of our fellow beings. Emotions play an important role
in the decisions we make in our day to day lives. We express emotions in almost everything we do,
such as; we express anger when we face atrocities, we express sadness when we hear news of demise,
and we express happiness when we get what we want. Further, emotions are not just limited to our
personal lives. In fact, conservatively, we express emotions in our professional life as well. Likewise,
technology plays an irrefutable role in our lives. Our dependency on technology has increased over the
years, and at times, we feel its intrusiveness as well (Grint Woolgar, 1997). We are depending more
and more on the technology and further, we are hoping the technology to sense us and understand us
better, in order to serve us well. Human Computer Interaction (HCI) has emerged as a field to
understand and contribute more to the interaction between technology and humans. The adaptable and
interdisciplinary nature of HCI has spawned multidimensional topics. For instance, to understand the
collaborative nature between the machine and humans, mixed initiative systems emerged. To sense
and ease work of the human beings, intelligent systems came into existence. Affective computing field
talks about the myriad possibilities of understanding the emotions and operationalizing emotions for

Essay about Beowulf as a Messianic Narrative
Beowulf as a messianic narrative has been a subject of great controversy. Given the time period,
Christianity was not completely established, and it was entwined with cultural paganism, as seen
woven throughout the text. The definition of a messianic narrative (containing the ultimate messianic
figure) is found in Isaiah 53, a prophecy spoken by God through the Hebrew prophet Isaiah. This is
the standard to which Beowulf must be compared to determination the nature of the poem. Many
scholars such as Harold Bloom (quoting E. Talbot Donaldson), Roberta Frank, Rich Lawson, Seamus
Heaney, and J. R. R. Tolkien (quoting R. W. Chambers) have critically viewed Beowulf to determine
the nature of the epic, resulting in a diverse range of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bloom and Donaldson argue that whilst Christian elements are present, heroic paganism is more
prevalent in Beowulf. This is supported by the death of Beowulf, reading, of all the world kings, [he
was] keenest for fame, summarising Beowulf, and suggesting his life only amounted to self
glorification.
In assessing the Christianity of Beowulf, Frank suggests that, like King Alfred did of Remiguis s
commentaries, the author of Beowulf used pagan analogies for Christian concepts. Lawson explores
this in the role fate has throughout the poem. The Geat prince placed all his trust in...his Maker s
favour, Then Beowulf speaks, The Father...shall apportion the honours...to whichever side shall seem
to Him fit, . The poet wrote, Fate had not assigned him the glory of battle, . The composer s
personification of Fate portrays the place it has taken God s place. Lawson writes of this, The pagan
concept of fate...is tied to God, suggesting that Beowulf is resigned to fate, but the author is using this
to illustrate the nature of God. Frank also states, What matters is how the rulers...served God s
purpose, , also calling Beowulf a, Pagan prince of peace, . While Beowulf demonstrates a pagan trust
in fate, Lawson and Frank believe it was the author using paganism to convey the messianic narrative,
and that Beowulf was instrumental in doing so.
In analysing Beowulf, Lawson concluded it was a messianic narrative including a messianic figure,

Applying Economics Using An Example Of Economic Problem...
Section A Question One: a) Define economics using an example of economic problem from your own
life. Economics is the social science concerned with the production and consumption of goods and
services and the analysis of the commercial activities of a society. Economic problem is to match
resources to the unlimited wants and needs. For example: if you have $10 to spend, and you want to
buy a book which costs $10 each and a pencil that costs $1 each. Now buying a book mean the loss of
the benefit that would have been gained from the 10 pencils. b) Outline the steps needed to develop an
economic model. Explain how models help in economic decision making. An Economic model is
defined as a theoretical construct that represents economic processes through a set of variables and a
set of logical or quantitative relationships between the two. The steps needed to develop an economic
model are: 1. Identify the problem 2. Identify stakeholders in the problem 3. Identify alternate
strategies to solve problem 4. Identify resources to implement chosen strategy 5. Implement 6.
Evaluate what was accomplished 7. Modify or Disseminate problem Models help in decision making
as they focus to gain a better understanding of how things work, to observe patterns, and to predict the
results of stimuli. They help to simplify and abstract from observed data, and also serve as a means of
selection of data based on a paradigm of econometric study. b) Construct a Production Possibility

In Grandview Boulevard, completed in 1974 CE, the artist utilizes painterly brushstrokes. The
shadows of the trees that are painted dark purple appear to have more painterly aspects than the rest of
the composition. From far away, the painting seems smooth and sleek, but up close, the individual
thick brushstrokes can be seen. The implied texture of the leaves in the painting is sturdy and prickly,
and the texture of the yellowed grass appears to be dry and coarse, however, the actual texture of the
painting itself is smooth. The artist also uses both curvilinear and geometric lines. In looking at the
trees in the painting, they are composed of primarily geometric lines (excluding the leafy top) that run

The tree on the bottom right of the painting demonstrates modeling, which is the contrast between
light and shadow in a work. The shading on the left side of the tree is darker than the right side of the
tree. The tree s local color (true color) is a light tan (bark of the tree) in comparison to its perceptual
color (implied), which is a darker gray/brown. The painting demonstrates diminution of scale, for the
long palm trees at the top of the composition appear smaller than the long palm trees placed lower on
the page. Not only does the artist use diminution of scale, but they also use vertical location. The
bushier palm trees n the back left side of the composition all appear to be the same size, but because
some are placed higher on the page, they appear to be further away than the ones placed lower on the
page. The artist use of overlapping helps achieve perception of depth. By overlapping the trees it
makes it look like the painting has much more depth. Because of all of this, the painting portrays deep
depth, not only because of the multiple overlapping and diminution of scale, but also because of the
multiple horizon lines, causing the painting to look like the road goes on over the hills. This painting
is a narrative, and its focal point is down the road. As the roads begin large and gets smaller, the eyes
follow the road until it ends. The artist uses both thick and thin lines in

Symbolism Pappachi s Moth Pappachi s moth throughout the book is a symbol and marker for the
reader that earmarks Rahel s feelings, whether it be comfort or fear. When Pappachi loses the credit
for discovering a new species of moth, he is cranky for the rest of the novel. The repetition and
referral to Pappachi s moth draws contrast between Pappachi s emotions and Rahel s. Pappachi felt
that his life s greatest setback was not having had the moth that he had discovered named after him ,
this relates to how Rahel feels at certain points in the novel, in the sense that he feels fearful of a

yes. One of the main themes in the book; God of Small Things is guilt, and this passage is a fantastic
example of this theme in the book, it refers to Estha s betrayal of Velutha and Ammu, and the guilt that
he has to live with for the rest of his life, knowing that it led to his separation with Rahel and the death
of Velutha, and Ammu s love. This is supported by the text; But worst of all, he [Estha] carried inside

The case study Renovating Home Depot was the case of a leader who joined a successful business
only to discover that the company was running out of growth opportunities and also did not have the
basic systems needed for increased growth in place. Robert Bob Nardelli was chosen as the CEO of
Home Depot based on his proven ability to reenergize slow growth businesses. He was a leader that
went all out to achieve his goals and was identified as someone who was comfortable in his own suit ,
and believes in being successful his own way. He made several innovations which were used in

Nardelli was also quite weak in Human Resource (HR) and customer service which were the key
aspects of any retailing business that aspires to be successful. Looking at his personality, he was
someone that was full of pride, ego and always like to have his way. He failed to practice consultative
management and was driven by the fact that he wanted to prove Jack Welch (the then CEO, who did
not give him a shot at general management) wrong and he s ready to go to any length to achieve this.
According to one of the store managers that left, he said: after Nardelli arrived, things weren t
presented to you; they were told to you . Considering all of these, I would not hire Nardelli.
2) Describe Home Depot when Nardelli took over. What kind of place was it? Is Nardelli a tyrant or a
strong manager? Support your position.
A strong foundation for success and growth was already in place in Home Depot under Marcus
leadership. The company demonstrated a very strong culture, built on entrepreneurialism and customer
service. Abundant promotion opportunities were created due to rapid growth attracting carpenters,
plumbers and other building professionals as salespeople. Most of the non entry level jobs were filled
internally, and from the 400 department heads, just a dozen came from outside the company.

  • 2. Essay about Johnson VS Madison Johnson became the 36th President of the United States a few short hours after the assassination of JFK. Known as one of the greatest political persuaders of the times, he sought the Greater Good of the people. James Madison was the fourth president of the United States. Although he was president, he is better known as the father of the Constitution . He led our fledging nation through the difficult War of 1812. Lyndon Johnson s presidency was embroiled in foreign nations as was Madison s. An advocator of the space program, Johnson and the leaders of Russia worked things out between their two nations. During Johnson s presidency, Vietnam became his defining moment. Unfortunately, many people believe this to be his greatest failure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This memorial brought about the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the first of many Civil Right Acts. In 1965, Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act which did away with literacy voting tests. These literacy tests prevented the African American citizen from voting. He went on to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1968, the Equal Housing Act. Interestingly enough, Johnson appointed the first black Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall. He even surrounded himself with colored advisors so as to not appear as a hypocrite. All the Civil Rights Acts prompted Johnson to start his Great Society ideas. Slavery still existed during Madison s presidency so there was no great reform there. However, in 1811, Madison vetoed two bills of Congress that tried to grant land to religious congregations. His reasons for the veto were the bills violated the non establishment clause of the first Amendment that Madison helped write. Later that same year, Congress passed a Religious Freedom Act that Madison signed into bill. He wrote many statements concerning the fact that church and state should be separate and continued to live by those statements throughout his Presidency. Interestingly enough, Madison supported the Native American populations living on American soil. In fact, he ordered the protection of their lands from foreign invasions. In order for him to pass his Great Society , Johnson had to seek Congressional resolution. He was very persuasive in his arguments. After all, he was a former ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Media Of Indigenous Australians Part A Media Analysis There is a populace of 18 million in Australia with Indigenous Australians making up roughly one percent of the Australian population. Due to this, the closest that a non Indigenous Australians will come to have contact with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is through representation in the Australian media. Most media stories are viewed as one sided or racist with even the Prime Minster Tony Abbott making comments that it is a lifestyle choice for the Indigenous peoples to live the way that they do in small communities consisting of up to 8 people. These statements that he had made is seen as racist, leaving him open to criticism by members if his own party, friends and his opponents. The 2 articles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This article gives the reader an inequitable view of Indigenous Australians, defending Tony Abbot s point of view and the audience is encouraged to agree with mainstream media in regards to whether or not Tony Abbott is racist. Article B from the Koori Mail condemns Tony Abbott s viewpoint as not only racist but he is insulting the very culture that he is representing. Article B states that Tony Abbott does not understand Indigenous culture and how important land is to them Connection to country is everything to Aboriginal people defines Aboriginal people and sustains us in a cultural and spiritual sense and can play a vital role in building economic independence, self determination and healing (Greg Cromelin, Article B). With Article B the audience is encouraged to get angry at Tony Abbott s comments and make him out to be racist. Misrepresentation of Indigenous Australians in the media, as seen in the Courier Mail (Article A) and the Koori Mail (Article B), shows a different side of Tony Abbott s comments. Each with their own biases and by comparing the two articles it shows that good representations in the media still have a long way to go. Part B Research Paper In this essay I will be discussing how the Australian media affects Indigenous Australians through negative and positive news reports, how journalists ... • 5. Public Relations Tactics for New Balance 1. The case reports on New Balance s strengths and weaknesses in terms of CSR. If you headed public relations for the company, what PR tactics (aside from the CSR Report) would you undertake to promote New Balance s many good deeds and practices? New Balance (NB) had some great deeds and practices to flaunt on, specifically in the four categories of overall governance, community support, operations and products and services. New Balance was also an industry leader in many of the initiatives they took and were ranked fourth largest footwear brand in the world. (2010, Dr. Veleva.V. New Balance Developing an Integrated CSR strategy. Page 14.) However, they have been rather shy/reluctant about talking about their various initiatives they have implemented. In fact, their employees were also not completely aware of what the organization was doing from a CSR standpoint. If I headed public relations for the company, I would use tactics and strategies that targeted both internally and externally to promote the various good deeds/doings of the company. I have explained on them below: Internal: First, I would target our employees, as I believe employees to be spokespeople for the company. Imparting the good deeds of the CSR doings would boost employee morale, engage or be part of the deeds and they would like to talk about it, as they are feeling good about themselves and the company. Some of the tactics I would use for communication are: Creating an internal blog/forum to help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A key idea that he and Adeimantus debate over is the wealth and poverty among each class. These classes are; Auxiliary (The warriors who enforce the rules of the Guardians, they also protect the city), The Guardians (They are responsible for ruling the city. They are chosen from among the ranks of the auxiliaries) and the Producers (The largest class of society but no share in ruling, they focus exclusively on producing whatever it is that they are best suited to produce). America Is A Leading Political And Economic Superpower America is a leading political and economic superpower, most known for being the largest democracy and being founded with unreplaceable views of freedom, civil liberties, and the iconic American dream. Despite these great accomplishments, there is a growing problem in America that if not handled will be the greatest mistake in American history. Strict regulation on campaign contributions is necessary because they go against core principles of democracy including, encouraging abuse of power, decreasing political participation, and promoting an increase in political and financial inequality between the extremely rich and the rest of Americans. Big campaign donations promote corruption. This is known and yet nothing is done about these giant anti democracy rulings. In 2010 The Supreme court case Citizens United v. FEC ruled that campaign funding is protected as a form of free speech which broadens an already ridiculously unclear policy. One giant problem with this is that PACs and other individuals or organizations can receive and donate as much money as needed if they vow to spend the money independently from campaigns. These donors expect reimbursement. In America today, we are seeing a rapid increase of special interests infringing on the political process and this has to stop. These feelings are necessary in humans and animals for survival and to deal with dangerous and stressful events. They/such feelings help individuals cope with adverse or unexpected situations. However, there are certain individuals who will experience these feelings on a daily basis for long periods of time. The constant fear and anxiety interferes with individual s daily lives and it is then when these feelings become a mental health problem, identify as Anxiety Disorders (Steimer, 2002). One of these anxiety disorders is Panic Disorder. Panic Disorder is characterized by individuals suffering from unpredicted and constant attacks of fear which normally last between 10 to 20 minutes. These attacks are known as panic attacks. Panic attacks are identified by fear of losing control even in situations where there is no real danger. Some of the most frequent symptoms a person experience when having a panic attack are chest pain, palpitations, sweating, feeling short of breath and the feelings of going crazy or having a heart attack (National Institute of Mental Health, 2016). Furthermore, people who suffer from Panic Disorder often develop other conditions such as depression, phobias and drug abuse. Many people with Panic Disorder will avoid certain situations and environments because they fear they may suffer a panic attack. Because of this, it is also very common for individuals with Panic Disorder to develop agoraphobia (NIH, 2016). As a consequence of fearing a panic attack, people with this disorder often engage in catastrophic and negative thinking. A common example is my heart is beating fast, I am having a heart attack (Steimer, 2002). Therefore, Panic Disorder is a condition that have a negative impact on people s family, social and working lives (Kessler et al., 2005). Panic Disorder is treatable, and numerous treatments exist which help reducing the severity of the symptoms as well as decreasing the number of panic attacks that occur in the disorder. These treatments are biological treatment, which involve pharmacological drugs, psychotherapy or a combination of both (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, 2013). This essay ... In general, Narcissism, originated from the Greek mythology, is used to describe the action or habit of someone s self complacence. Surprisingly, it has a totally different explanation in psychology. As Jean M. Twenge (2006) mentioned in her article named On Army of one: Me, Narcissism is one of the few personality traits that psychologists agree is almost completely negative. Narcissists are overly focused on themselves and lack empathy for others, which means they cannot see another person s perspective (para. 22). Once locked in together all six share their life stories, quite like the pilgrims do in Chaucer s Canterbury Tales and discover that they have never been living for themselves, but for others, governed by societal pressures. In a sense each story is separate but their being together in one compartment provides the framework and holds the story together like a ribbon holding a bouquet of different kinds of flowers of different shapes, colours and fragrances. (Khushwant Singh; Travelling in a women s compartment) Somewhere towards the end each story illuminates the story of Akhila who listens to all other women and tries to apply their views and justifications in comparison to her own life. As women give more importance to relationships and affiliations, they always give priority to the needs and demands of others and sacrifice their own needs and desires for the sake of their home, merging their own identity in the process. In Ladies Coupe, Akhila is governed by societal pressures and does not live for herself, but for her family and the society, though it means sacrificing her own individual interests. She hails from a humble Tamil Brahmin family. Her father, a government servant, is the only breadwinner of the family, and who has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Human Computer Interaction ( Hci ) Essay Emotion is a distinguishing feature of human beings. It is not because other beings cannot express emotions, but we are good at grasping emotions of our fellow beings. Emotions play an important role in the decisions we make in our day to day lives. We express emotions in almost everything we do, such as; we express anger when we face atrocities, we express sadness when we hear news of demise, and we express happiness when we get what we want. Further, emotions are not just limited to our personal lives. In fact, conservatively, we express emotions in our professional life as well. Likewise, technology plays an irrefutable role in our lives. Our dependency on technology has increased over the years, and at times, we feel its intrusiveness as well (Grint Woolgar, 1997). We are depending more and more on the technology and further, we are hoping the technology to sense us and understand us better, in order to serve us well. Human Computer Interaction (HCI) has emerged as a field to understand and contribute more to the interaction between technology and humans. The adaptable and interdisciplinary nature of HCI has spawned multidimensional topics. For instance, to understand the collaborative nature between the machine and humans, mixed initiative systems emerged. To sense and ease work of the human beings, intelligent systems came into existence. Affective computing field talks about the myriad possibilities of understanding the emotions and operationalizing emotions for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Essay about Beowulf as a Messianic Narrative Beowulf as a messianic narrative has been a subject of great controversy. Given the time period, Christianity was not completely established, and it was entwined with cultural paganism, as seen woven throughout the text. The definition of a messianic narrative (containing the ultimate messianic figure) is found in Isaiah 53, a prophecy spoken by God through the Hebrew prophet Isaiah. This is the standard to which Beowulf must be compared to determination the nature of the poem. Many scholars such as Harold Bloom (quoting E. Talbot Donaldson), Roberta Frank, Rich Lawson, Seamus Heaney, and J. R. R. Tolkien (quoting R. W. Chambers) have critically viewed Beowulf to determine the nature of the epic, resulting in a diverse range of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bloom and Donaldson argue that whilst Christian elements are present, heroic paganism is more prevalent in Beowulf. This is supported by the death of Beowulf, reading, of all the world kings, [he was] keenest for fame, summarising Beowulf, and suggesting his life only amounted to self glorification. In assessing the Christianity of Beowulf, Frank suggests that, like King Alfred did of Remiguis s commentaries, the author of Beowulf used pagan analogies for Christian concepts. Lawson explores this in the role fate has throughout the poem. The Geat prince placed all his trust in...his Maker s favour, Then Beowulf speaks, The Father...shall apportion the honours...to whichever side shall seem to Him fit, . The poet wrote, Fate had not assigned him the glory of battle, . The composer s personification of Fate portrays the place it has taken God s place. Lawson writes of this, The pagan concept of fate...is tied to God, suggesting that Beowulf is resigned to fate, but the author is using this to illustrate the nature of God. Frank also states, What matters is how the rulers...served God s purpose, , also calling Beowulf a, Pagan prince of peace, . While Beowulf demonstrates a pagan trust in fate, Lawson and Frank believe it was the author using paganism to convey the messianic narrative, and that Beowulf was instrumental in doing so. In analysing Beowulf, Lawson concluded it was a messianic narrative including a messianic figure, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Applying Economics Using An Example Of Economic Problem... Section A Question One: a) Define economics using an example of economic problem from your own life. Economics is the social science concerned with the production and consumption of goods and services and the analysis of the commercial activities of a society. Economic problem is to match resources to the unlimited wants and needs. For example: if you have $10 to spend, and you want to buy a book which costs $10 each and a pencil that costs $1 each. Now buying a book mean the loss of the benefit that would have been gained from the 10 pencils. b) Outline the steps needed to develop an economic model. Explain how models help in economic decision making. An Economic model is defined as a theoretical construct that represents economic processes through a set of variables and a set of logical or quantitative relationships between the two. The steps needed to develop an economic model are: 1. Identify the problem 2. Identify stakeholders in the problem 3. Identify alternate strategies to solve problem 4. Identify resources to implement chosen strategy 5. Implement 6. Evaluate what was accomplished 7. Modify or Disseminate problem Models help in decision making as they focus to gain a better understanding of how things work, to observe patterns, and to predict the results of stimuli. They help to simplify and abstract from observed data, and also serve as a means of selection of data based on a paradigm of econometric study. b) Construct a Production Possibility ... • 33. Art History Katie Tran Paper #1 In Grandview Boulevard, completed in 1974 CE, the artist utilizes painterly brushstrokes. The shadows of the trees that are painted dark purple appear to have more painterly aspects than the rest of the composition. From far away, the painting seems smooth and sleek, but up close, the individual thick brushstrokes can be seen. The implied texture of the leaves in the painting is sturdy and prickly, and the texture of the yellowed grass appears to be dry and coarse, however, the actual texture of the painting itself is smooth. The artist also uses both curvilinear and geometric lines. In looking at the trees in the painting, they are composed of primarily geometric lines (excluding the leafy top) that run in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tree on the bottom right of the painting demonstrates modeling, which is the contrast between light and shadow in a work. The shading on the left side of the tree is darker than the right side of the tree. The tree s local color (true color) is a light tan (bark of the tree) in comparison to its perceptual color (implied), which is a darker gray/brown. The painting demonstrates diminution of scale, for the long palm trees at the top of the composition appear smaller than the long palm trees placed lower on the page. Not only does the artist use diminution of scale, but they also use vertical location. The bushier palm trees n the back left side of the composition all appear to be the same size, but because some are placed higher on the page, they appear to be further away than the ones placed lower on the page. The artist use of overlapping helps achieve perception of depth. By overlapping the trees it makes it look like the painting has much more depth. Because of all of this, the painting portrays deep depth, not only because of the multiple overlapping and diminution of scale, but also because of the multiple horizon lines, causing the painting to look like the road goes on over the hills. This painting is a narrative, and its focal point is down the road. As the roads begin large and gets smaller, the eyes follow the road until it ends. The artist uses both thick and thin lines in ... • 34. Pappachi s Moth Symbolism Symbolism Pappachi s Moth Pappachi s moth throughout the book is a symbol and marker for the reader that earmarks Rahel s feelings, whether it be comfort or fear. When Pappachi loses the credit for discovering a new species of moth, he is cranky for the rest of the novel. The repetition and referral to Pappachi s moth draws contrast between Pappachi s emotions and Rahel s. Pappachi felt that his life s greatest setback was not having had the moth that he had discovered named after him , this relates to how Rahel feels at certain points in the novel, in the sense that he feels fearful of a potential regret. When Rahel feels especially fearful, the moth seems to be creepily present; A cold moth with unusually dense dorsal tufts landed lightly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Preceding that, Sophie Mol had drowned and Velutha was accused and found by the police in the History House. After this takes place, the author seeks to explain what may have caused Estha to say yes. One of the main themes in the book; God of Small Things is guilt, and this passage is a fantastic example of this theme in the book, it refers to Estha s betrayal of Velutha and Ammu, and the guilt that he has to live with for the rest of his life, knowing that it led to his separation with Rahel and the death of Velutha, and Ammu s love. This is supported by the text; But worst of all, he [Estha] carried inside him the memory of a young man with an old man s mouth. The memory of a swollen face and a smashed, upside down smile. The use of vivid imagery conveys the sense that Estha can t forget about what he s done to cause so much pain, particularly the image of Velutha s physical pain. The passage goes on, emphasising this point even more; Of a spreading pool of clear liquid with a bare bulb reflected in it. Of a bloodshot eye that had opened, wandered, and then fixed its gaze on him. Estha. The descriptive language demonstrates the detail of Estha s memory, further showing that Estha has a clear feeling or regret and guilt for what has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to one of the store managers that left, he said: after Nardelli arrived, things weren t presented to you; they were told to you .
