How Did Nicholas II Contribute To The Russian Revolution
Nicholas II was the last tsar of Russia under Romanov rule. Nicolas II was to inherit the throne after
his father died, but he was not prepared to. You will soon read that if he was properly prepared then he
would ve had a magic life. Tsar Nicholas II aroused the Russian Revolution.
Alexander III died at the age of 49 in 1894; Nicholas II did not feel he was up to take the throne.
Nicholas had to take the throne, get marry and have children to secure the future heir. He married
Princess Alix of Hesse Darmstadt. The coronation was hugely celebrated by Russia that thousands
were stampeded to death, but Nicholas II and his wife did not notice, nor did they care. His wife,
Empress Alexandra, gave birth to four girls. He needed a boy and he finally

Stand And Deliver Themes
Stand and Deliver Relevancy Today The film Stand and Deliver follows math teacher Jaime Escalante
s determination to motivate underprivileged students and help them reach academic excellence. At the
end of this whole journey, the students are able to realize their full potential and grow from the
experience. There are several universal themes that the filmmaker is able to express through the use of
various impactful filmmaking techniques. I believe that the film s passion is still relevant today, as the
themes showcased throughout the film can very much be understood and empathized with by a diverse
range of students in modern times. One of the themes that stand out the most in the film is the struggle
to overcome adversity and push through problems in one s life that could otherwise get in the way
from achieving goals. In the film, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the film, various students are shown to be quite vocal about what they believe they cannot
accomplish, and this mainly revolves around Jaime Escalante s math class. Many students claim that
math is just not for them, that they do not understand it and are better off without it. The filmmaker
specifically shows this through a scene in the beginning of the film when Escalante asks different
students a simple question on a basic concept in math and given in return unsure answers. The
filmmaker gives close up shots of the students looking down at their desks, seemingly unconfident in
their own understanding of basic math. The students at first resist trying to take math seriously, but
with time Escalante eventually succeeds at sparking their interest and showing them that they are
capable of a lot more than they believe to be possible. Plenty of students today deal with low self
esteem and may even limit their own advancement and achievements simply because they do not

Spectacular Changes In Alpine Environment Essay
Introduction: Spectacular changes take place in alpine environments. An obvious observation is that
the tree line ends and peaks emerge. A more subtle change occurs within the plants. There are two
major ways in which plants adapt to survive in alpine environments; morphologically and
physiologically. Although, W.D. Billings, in his Adaptations and Origins of Alpine Plants , states that
there are also a few other manners in which they adapt including reproductive and ecological (1974).
However, the main focus of this essay is on the morphological and physiological adaptations plants
make.
Description of an Alpine Environment:
Before discussing what changes plants undergo to survive in alpine environments, a description of an
alpine environment is needed. A brief explanation would be that an alpine environment begins where
the tree line on a mountain ends (Frank Salisbury et al., 1968). Classic characteristics of this sort of
environment include low temperatures, short and instable seasons, as well as windy and snowy
conditions (Billings, 1974). The Latin word for alpine is albus which means white or snow covered
according to Korner in his Alpine Plant Life (1949). Korner also believes that there are only two main
categories of plants that reside in alpine environments that ought to be considered alpine plants. The
categories include those plants that are restricted to life in alpine environments and those found in
alpine environments as well as some lower altitudes

Candidiasis
Introduction
Candidiasis refers to the fungal infection caused by any Candida which is a form of yeast. There are
more than 20 species of candida yeast that might cause illnesses in people, but the common Candida
species is the Candida albicans (Hospenthal Rinaldi, 2015). However, the yeasts are found in small
amounts in the mucous membrane and skin, and they do not cause infection, but the overgrowth
would lead to infection. Specific drugs and health issues may cause the yeast to overgrow especially in
warm and moist body parts leading dangerous symptoms. The signs and symptoms of candidiasis
depend on the part of the human body that is infected (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). Health centers in
many nations have reported that Candida species cause fungal infections leading to hospitalization of
patients. The paper focuses on candidiasis by exploring its causes, epidemiology, types, diagnosis and
treatment as well as prevention measures and risk factors. The thesis of the paper is that candidiasis is
a fatal disease that can lead to defects and even death.
Epidemiology
In the United States, Candida is the third cause of nosocomial bloodstream diseases accounting for
about 8 10 percent of the cases. Moreover, three quarter of females in America experience vaginitis
during their life with 25 percent caused by Candida (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). The invasive
candidiasis is the prominent infection among all fungal diseases since it accounts 70 to 90 percent of

Aca Code Of Ethics Essay
Which code(s) might cause you difficulties when you are a practicing counselor and why?
Professional ethic codes designate the highest expectations of professional implications and describe
the potential situations that we can face in practice. Instead of these great efforts, one booklet cannot
include all we need when we encounter an ethical dilemma. Particularly, when the law and ethics code
conflicts, ethical decision making become highly critical and problematic. According to me, one of the
most challenging ethical dilemmas occurs while working with a minor client who demands for
keeping her/his information confidential. As far as I concern, this might not be uncommon in the
counseling field and ethical decision making does not seem to be easy. Besides the professional ethical
codes, counselors have to know laws and consider the best interest of the client. As a general rule,
parents and legal guardians are responsible for and have a right to be informed about their children
until these children reach the age of eighteen. Although there are some exceptions, this is the general
rule in the US and most of the countries around the world. Certainly, this is a reasonable rule
especially if parents and legal guardians are supportive and cooperative with the therapist. ACA Code
of ethics (2014) dealt with this issue with the codes of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of A Modified Barium Swallow Study At...
I had the opportunity to observe a Modified Barium Swallow Study at Arkansas Children s Hospital
this semester. It was informative, interesting, and sparked left me researching unfamiliar terms as I left
the study. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this observation experience and I feel as though it is
one of the most, if not the most, beneficial hands on experiences I have had thus far. The differences
between pediatrics and geriatrics have been discussed, taught, and even viewed through video in class,
but there is nothing quite like seeing all of those differences in person. I would like to start off
mentioning that I had pre conceived idea of what my experience was going to be with a 9 month old. I

There were various cups set out with different labels on the side. Legally they have to put labels on
everything used by the patient that has their name, D.O.B, and that barium was used. The SLP poured
barium into the cups, which she then flavored with Kool Aid and then barium was added to
applesauce. This allowed the SLP to test various consistencies and see how the patient tolerated them.
Thin, Nectar, and Puree consistencies were observed during the study. The study requires several
disciplines to be presented in the room in order for it to be completed. There was a radiologist,
radiology technician, nurse, an SLP, and the mother of the child. This made for a tight space during
the study itself. Once the room was prepped and all required personnel was ready the SLP went to get
the family.
The steps were explained in detail to the mother and then instructions were given to her on which way
the child should be facing while being fed the samples. I was surprised to learn that the child s mother
was actually the one feeding him the test consistencies and not a trained professional. There were so
things happening in the room all at once. The SLP was trying to watch the monitor for penetration and
aspiration all while trying to help the mother keep the baby s attention. Then the radiologist says deep
penetration and two seconds later silent aspiration . The nurse wrote this information down on a sheet
which specifies exactly when, where, and what consistency was

Hockey Lockout Analysis
Since the start of the twenty first century, there has been two different lockouts in the National Hockey
League. The first to happen was in the 2004 2005 season. The entire season was lost due to an
unsuccessful bargaining agreement. The second one to happen was in the 2012 2013 season. Over
sixty percent of the season was lost and the league had to cancel special events such as the Winter
Classic games and the All Star Weekend. They were able to salvage the tail end of the season and were
still able to have the Stanley Cup Playoffs (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013, 2013). Previously
before the mid 1990s, the stoppage of a sports season was usually due to a strike rather than a lockout.

The agreement seemed to be a victory for the owners, but they continued to pay big salaries to the
players. Average salaries grew and started to exceed revenue growth. In 2004, the National Hockey
League claimed that they had lost nearly two billion dollars in the past decade. In the negotiations, the
league was focuses on the idea of the costs being certain. They would make sure that costs are certain
by introducing a salary cap. The union was against the idea of a salary cap and insisted that salaries
were based on market conditions and it would not agree to capped team payrolls. As an attempt to
save the season, the league dropped the demand that the salaries would not exceed fifty five percent of
revenue. The union then reconsidered and became willing to accept a salary cap. The two parties
however, could not close the gap on how much the salary cap should be. Neither side would budge
and finally time ran out, resulting in the league cancelling the 2004 2005 season. The cancelation
caused an estimated two billion in revenue for the teams and roughly one billion in lost salaries from
the players. After the season was lost, the Nation Hockey League Players Association finally agreed to
a salary cap for the 2005 2006 season and onward (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013,

The Face Of Battle By John Keegan
John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the
face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently
articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for
over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught British
cadets military history, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar, nor seen the
aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be
like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has functioned simply as a
battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects followed by the outcome.
However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side of war, the experience of
battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit? What are the vital features in
determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run?
Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to
demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the main
interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies. He
examines, in detail, which aspects of war changed or remain constant between the three battles.
Keegan brilliantly and

Satire In A Modest Proposal
The Era of Hard Feelings Satire has been a common theme throughout modern culture, varying from
media, to a person s everyday demeanor or personality. Satire is defined as a way of using humor to
show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, or the weakness and bad qualities of a person,
government, and/or society (Webster s). It has become a natural occurrence in America s way of life,
even all around the world. It eventually evolved into a popular way of communication called sarcasm.
However, satire was not always widely accepted in popular culture. It was often shunned or
misunderstood as a crude outlook on life. For example, an infamous piece titled A Modest Proposal
used a very large amount of satire throughout the entire essay ... Show more content on

This is an extremely satirical idea simply because of the fact that it is ridiculing two types of people in
one sentence. The first, being the Irish Catholics, are made fun of quite obviously. The innuendo is
that, prior to the statement, it is suggested that there is a surplus of papist babies born nine months
after Lent, later supported by calling Catholics the principal breeders (Swift 622). This is seen as an
advantage to decrease the amount of Catholics in England, taking the opportunity and selling more
babies, but with a religious background. This idea is supported by the second, more hidden bash of
prejudice Englishmen with a Protestant religious background. The idea that the number of papists
would decrease is presented through Swift while the narrator is in the mindset of an English Protestant
just to make fun and to point out how foolish the idea of it all actually is.
The next example of extreme satire is when the author refers to an outside source. Swift goes on to say
that A very worthy person, a true lover of his country, and whose virtues I highly esteem, was lately
pleased in discoursing on this matter to offer a refinement upon my scheme (Swift 621). This
illustrates that another person is willing to support

Elements Of Democracy In Colonial America

It s is surprising that Colonial America had any democratic features. This is surprising because they
lived in a British monarchy. They lived their lives having other people (Kings, Queens, and royal
advisors) control their government actions. Some democratic feature they contained was a democratic
government and human rights. One democratic feature is system of government. In Virginia they had
the House Of Burgesses. Individual were chosen by the colonists to make laws. Eventually each
colony will have a legislator. (Document 3) This shows a democratic government by coming together
to make laws. This is different because they are from a monarchy. Associating with the House Of

What Is The Role Of Henry Clay In The Great Compromise In...
For so long, Robert Remini has been a significant player the political history. In the analysis of the
critical moment in the United States, Robert Remini paints a vivid picture of Henry Clay. Clay is
brought out as a man who was contradictory. He fought against the slavery, but on the other hand, he
equally owned slaves. He was a common man but unfortunately could not be elected as the president
of the country. Clay was an outstanding man who however was identified with lack of discipline. His
dedication to an idea that the nation was a continuous union of people was not certain. Robert Remini
explores the role of Henry Clay in the molding of the Great Compromise in 1850 (19). In as much as

Then the author outlines the situation of politics that cropped up due to the war between Americans
and Mexicans which seemed to be controversial that took place at around 1846. He then highlights of
the crisis that had threatened to bring the union to an end in a scramble of separation and the civil war.
Finally, the author paints vividly esteemed Clay who was determined to avert the catastrophe with the
great and last compromise. The credible and heroic portrait is what emerges throughout this book. All
along, Remini reminds the readers the advanced age and the illness of Clay that hindered his hard
work and lastly made him leave Washington before completing his task. In Remini s thesis, there a
robust, authentic element: starting with the convention of the constitution someone can argue that the
Union was able to be together because of many compromises made initiated by the leaders who were
aware for the need of a neutral standing position. Remini, however, transfers the point in extreme and
oversimplifies the debate to a point he ignores the six scholarship decades and goes back to the ham
handed group explanation. Robert Remini says of Great Triumvirate which he alludes to the era s great
men who passed away like Henry clay; the nation would lack men who will be devoted zealously to
be of service in the Union and men who possessed candid capabilities in leadership and

Romeo And Juliet Rhetorical Analysis
In Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare uses oxymora to help describe complicated human emotions. People
can have two opposing emotions such as love and hate. This is accuratly protrayed throughout the play
but mostly with the character of Juliet. For example Juliet uses the oxymoron fiend angelical in her
speech. This oxymoron means devil angle. Representing the fact that Juliet is struggling with her
interpation of Romeo character after he killed Tybalt. She thinks he may have the same traits as the
devil such as cruelness and wickedness. But her love for him makes her find it hard to belive that that
can be possible. She thinks of an angle in their love. Pure and happy is what she sees him as and
subconciously wishes he was.

Analysis Of An Epicurean Ideal By David Suits
n
An Epicurean Ideal (Suits 2008) is an article written by David Suits that deals with the discussion of
the understandings and teachers on Greek philosopher, Epicurus. The writer attempts to evaluate and
examine different aspects of Epicurean idealism. Epicurus goal was to build a society that would be
free from any social or personal anxiety and problems. Also known as ataraxia . This understanding
caused out of the importance on pleasure. Since the society involved women, a lot of individuals
believe that Epicurus were simply tranquil. However, this theory was contradicted by Suits. He states
that Epicurus established a different society free from any social limitation because he gave

Traditional war poetry gives the idea of patriotic idealism of war. This style of poetry implies that war
is patriotic and that people who fight for their country are honorable.
But many of the poets do not portray war as it really is, by glossing over the gory details with
attractive images. Many traditional war poems were written before the war to persuade and encourage
young boys to become loyal soldiers. Many of the soldiers were taught to believe that they were the

Economic Value Of The Good Life
The difference between back then and the society we live in today, is that there are now many things
that money can actually buy. By exploring the Good Life, the topic of economic value comes to mind
and the question that permeates is if that thing should or should not have an economic value. It is
crazy to think about some of the things that people charge others that do not have any real
significance. For instance, Michael Sandel pointed how in some cities, non violent offenders can pay
ninety dollars a night for a prison cell upgrade. That is an example to me that seems very pointless
because if a person is a criminal why should his or hers economic status put them to a greater
advantage than anybody else in that prison. Drawing from the content from this week s readings I
believe that certain things should contain more economic value than other. For instance things like the
internet, adoptions, health care, education, and parking are things to me that have economic value, but
really shouldn t. On the contrary, things that should have economic value are things like the
preservation of the environment, museums, and recreational and national parks.
Things that I believe should not have such an economic value are things that to me seem essential to
an individual s life. One thing that has monetary value and really shouldn t in my opinion is wifi.
Paying for wifi is something that gets me furious because I truly believe that there should be free wifi

Berry Strauss s The Trojan War a New History Book Review
Barry Strauss, professor of classics at Cornell University attempts to redefine a one of history s
biggest love affairs, the Trojan War. Strauss explains how certain events and characters from Homers
The Odyssey might have actually existed, but also uses modern discoveries from the Bronze Age to
compare Homers account to those of Egypt, the Middle East, and etc. While Homer s epic should not
be read as a historical document which recounts the Trojan War hundred percent accurately, it can still
be seen as document which embodies some historical truth. The novel as a whole explains the
customs, economic standing, fighting styles and beliefs of the Greeks. Strauss s writing style allows
for the book to be accessible to both students and historians. He argues that just like Franz Ferdinand
was the spark which ignited World War 1, Helen on the other hand was just a spark which escalated an
existing tension between the Greeks and Trojans. Strauss s personal input on the war itself gives the
novel a different outlook on the Trojan War because, it allows for readers to see beyond the facts and
make connections with ideas that Strauss had made with recent discoveries and Homers epic. Strauss
sectionalizes the book in 11 chapters, excluding the introduction and conclusion, and in each chapter
he covers a different aspect of the

The Gay Liberation Movement In The Civil Rights Movement
In 1965 during the Civil Rights Movement, was the first gay rights demonstration which led to the gay
liberation movement in the 70 s. Being such an impactful commemoration it inspired more liberating
groups in the growing gay and lesbian world such as: feminist movements, record labels, music
festivals and the National Organization for Women. This quickly evolved into acceptance in a place of
worship when the first gay minister was ordained in 72. Soon after, several large political groups
formed in support of the growing outing of a gay society in a stand for gay rights. (Morris, 2017) The
quickly increasing movement took a detrimental hit in the 80s ... as the gay male community was
decimated by the AIDS epidemic, (they) demand for compassion and medical funding leading to
renewed coalitions between men and women as well as angry street theatre by groups like AIDS

groups started campaigning against LGB, Churches started believing that AIDS were a damnation
from God and the military s Don t Ask, Don t Tell policy emerged in 94. Not to mention the appalling
hate crimes and backlash from society itself.

Multi Dynamic Range Of Video Game Essay
2016 Televisions
Of the latest generation in home television sets, High Dynamic Range (HDR) is the newest feature on
4K televisions. The LG B6 and the Samsung KS8000 televisions are two 4K television sets offered in

One of the main things the 2016 television will catch consumers eyes is the most recent marketing
technology buzzwords. In the past, there has been 3D, which was poorly executed in recreating the
theater experience. Recently there has been UHD and 4K stamped on the boxes of televisions that

outdoor lighting during sunsets shining on the crest of wakes in a river or ocean waves crashing onto a

The Ethical Debate On Prostitution
The ethical debate regarding the numerous views on prostitution dates back numerous decades.
Prostitution is seen by many as the absolute embodiment of patriarchal male privilege, clearly
disallowing feminist support or participation (Kesler, 2002, p. 219). However, views vary widely
when assessing different studies such as those that measure the possible harm risks inflected on
women working in the field. There are two main opposing views on this subject matter, the liberal and
the feminist. Those who view prostitution according to a liberal paradigm embrace the view that
prostitution, in its ideal form, must be viewed as a voluntary contract (Peterson Iyer, 1998, p. 25). On
the other hand, as Alison Jaggar points out, a liberal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The overall moral of her article is to sustain the raising of awareness regarding probable physical,
emotional or psychological harm in which prostitutes continue to experience. Also, she attempts to
find a middle ground in which feminists may still speak up without neglecting the real needs of
modern day prostitutes. It is important, however, to acknowledge the existing social divide between
feminists and prostitutes. Rebecca Whisnant and Christine Stark (2004) challenge this perception
through identifying the divide in which we assume that whoever we are, the prostitute is not (p. 296). I
will proceed by discussing the liberal views debated in this article.
Peterson Iyer claims that the most common approach taken by prostitutes organizations is to view
prostitution as a matter of individual free choice (p. 24). Furthermore, they emphasize the essential
autonomy of the prostitute and the client: they are two adult persons who agree to a mutually

additional book had surfaced but Forrester but fell off the face of the earth. Going into a reclusive

The Music Of Bali And Its History, Beliefs, And Values,...
Introduction
Gamelan is a term for various types of orchestra played in Indonesia. As Indonesia entails 17000
islands, there are many different styles of gamelan, and no gamelan orchestra is considered to be the
same as another (See Y S, 2000). The music of Bali a Hindu island afloat in a Muslim sea was
described by the American composer Colin McPhee as the stirring mystery of a thousand bells
(Gordon, 1994). Varieties of gamelan are distinguished through tunings, style, cultural context and the
collection of instruments used. The varieties are generally grouped geographically, with certain styles
being shared by nearby ensembles, therefore leading to a regional style (See Y S, 2000). Balinese
gamelan is the main element of Indonesian traditional music as well as belonging to the sacred
elements of their culture. Throughout the following investigation, the style of Balinese gamelan will
be analysed through its history, beliefs and values, musical elements, cultural effects and future
observations.

Bali is one of many islands which make up the Indonesian archipelago and is located between the

To Kill A Mockingbird And Persepolis Comparison Essay
Compare how the composers of To Kill a Mockingbird and Persepolis use characterisation to explore
the conflict between personal and public worlds.
Everyone is different, has their own personality and views but it is not an uncommon occurrence when
their way of thinking clashes or is challenged with others. Harper Lee s novel To Kill a Mockingbird
(T.K.A.M) and Marjane Satrapi s graphic novel Persepolis, while set in different time periods, explore
similar issues of discrimination which are shown through techniques used by the authors.
In both books, Harper Lee and Marjane Satrapi have built their stories around young female
protagonists, Scout a hard headed and impressionable tomboy from T.K.A.M and Marjane from
Persepolis. By having the stories be narrated from a child s perspective, it allows readers to understand
the characters unsophisticated and open minds. While living in different settings and having separate
values, both Scout and Marjane come across aspects of sexism and misogyny. From a young age,
Scout had learnt from her older brother, Jem, that things associating with girls are bad and things
associating with boys are good, Jem told me I was being a girl, that girls always imagined things, that
s why other people hated them so, and if I started behaving like one I could just go off and find some
to play with. (Ch.4, Pg.45) When Scout was two, her mother died of a sudden heart attack so she
never had any major female influences or role models growing up.

There are few cases with why the Guam has ended in the shortage of the water. The first reason is
because the Guam is located near to the equator, which makes the humidity very high leading to the
evaporation of the water into the air. The climate of Guam is average 80 degrees Fahrenheit and the
highest temperature ever recorded was 96 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning that Guam is very hot island
enough to evaporate the water. The second reason is the wastes created by the humans. According to
Pacific Daily News who wrote How to Conserve Water During the Drought it stated that the wastes
include overusing the water that are not needed, not turning off the faucet, not shutting off the nozzles
of the hose, and etc. These wastes creates a danger for a lot of the creatures around and the inside of

Roman Artists And His Influence On The Public s Opinion...
From 255 BC to 14 AD, Roman artists designed plays, poetry and sculpture with the intention to alter
the public s opinion on prominent figures and political issues of their time. Poetry and sculpture
altered Augustus s image positively. However, the reputations of political figures such as Caesar,
Pompey, and Mamurra were hammered through poetry. Plautus also brings to light the aggressive
nature and negative qualities of powerful figures.
Statues were not the only way that Augustus s image was promoted; Poetry was a prominent form of
literary work at the time and served to manipulate people s perspective on political figures. After

The line, Caesar Augustus, descended from God, who again shall a golden Age in Latium found is a
clear example of how the poem serves as propaganda. By saying that Augustus is descended from God
Vergil implies that Augustus is superior to other rulers because he has the gods on his side. Augustus s
descent from gods also implies that he had more ability to allow Rome to prosper, since he had the
gods on his side. Augustus s hope for the future is revealed when Vergil writes, Who again shall a
golden age in Latium found . This line implies that with Augustus as ruler Rome will prosper, and
thrive, culture will flourish, and a new golden age will emerge ((H) Historical Context for The Aeneid

Poetry was also used to negatively impact the view of political figures; Catullus, another Roman poet

Factors Affecting The Homeless Epidemic Essay
4. Different There are a lot of factors that construe the homeless epidemic. Factors the contribute to
homelessness includes job loss, divorce, domestic abuse, foreclosure of home, serious illness, mental
and physical illness, substance abuse and even natural disasters all help to contribute to homelessness.
Which shows it can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion and even social class.
Even with government regulations, there can occur a loss of financial sustainability by zoning
regulations resulting in eminent domain over people s properties when they have no place to go and
with the high cost of housing either for purchase or to rent have skyrocketed. These people really do
not have a choice but to be homeless and at the bottom of the caste system deemed the untouchables .
The homeless have become the hunters and gatherers of modern society. They feed themselves by
begging, scavenging, and raiding garbage for (particularly that of restaurants) food. (Kottak p234)
Even when factories relocate to other countries where labor is cheaper, cost families, their livelihood
and for some that is the only job skill they have, these people would eventually become homeless if
they cannot secure another job with the same or lower job skills that they possess. And also due to the
fact that the migrants are being housed first and been providing care over U.S. citizens with this
current administration. The Obama Administration has made it very clear that

Menace II Society Essay
Menace II Society, a film about a young Black man who has lived the hustler lifestyle and is
struggling to leave it, is a perfect example of deviance as the main character, Caine Lawson, and the
characters around him violate many of society s norms. Throughout the film, the characters swear
incessantly, carry around guns and drugs as most people would carry around cell phones, commit
street crimes, especially burglary and mugging, on a regular basis, and beat and kill people
unscrupulously. The following quote captures just how deviant Caine and the other characters in this
film were, [Caine] went into the store just to get a beer. Came out an accessory to murder and armed

However, he sees his only option of obtaining signs of wealth, like a nice car, are via street crime.
Thus, Caine s deviance can be attributed to Strain Theory as well. Caine takes the deviant path of an
innovator in order to achieve cultural goals. For instance, he makes and sells drugs for money and he
mugs a man in order to get nice rims for his new car. Caine rarely shows any intention of using
institutionalized means of achieving cultural goals he claims he was never fit for some boring job.
However, it must also be considered that Caine was born into a family that belonged to an urban slum
and whose way of life had crime woven into it. Caine grew up watching his father and his father s
friends deal drugs while rarely working normal jobs. He claimed that he even learned how to make
drugs from his father. As a result, it becomes evident that Caine had all the opportunity in the world to
be turned on to the life of a hustler since it was the same life his father led and that his friends would
later live as well. In this way, Caine s life is an ideal example of illegitimate opportunity theory since
crime was fused into his way of life.
Growing up a young black man in an urban slum certainly did not deter Caine from deviating either.
He grew up with the stigma of a young Black man. This master status led Caine to believe that other
people, specifically non Blacks, always thought that young black men were always in trouble. For
example, when Caine

The Current Public Education System
Better Schooling
The current public education system claims to have the student s best interest as a top priority, but in
reality, it is actually harming the students. Almost all are short changed the way education is set up
now. Boys and girls learn in different ways. They are not different merely because of how they are
treated in society, but because of how their brains function. However, when teachers try to teach
different genders at the same time, the majority of the time, it just will not work. Badly needed are
teachers that understand the differences between, and how to teach, boys and girls. Coed schools hurt
more than they help, not allowing children to reach their potential. Single sex schooling is more
beneficial to the student s learning.
Many claim that by separating young girls and boys, gender stereotypes are being enforced. In 2013,
UCLA put together findings of pros and cons to single sex education. Among the downsides, a
common fear was that this undermines gender equality. The thought is, because girls and boys are in
different schools, this means one can t do what the other can. Generally, this means girls can t be as
competitive, or independent, and boys can t be as caring, or artistic. These stereotypes are in the
current society, men holding higher paying jobs, and women being mothers or teachers, the more
nurturing jobs. But, today s men and women who fall into this common stereotype have grown up to
become how they are through coeducation. A new

The Jacksonian Era is often described as a time when the United States experienced the
democratization of politics. Is this accurate? How was democracy defined in this era? In a democracy
each and every citizen of the state is supposed to have an equal say in the government. Today
everyone has the opportunity to vote and has equal rights with no restrictions to American citizens. On
the other hand back in the Jacksonian Era this was different. Before his time this wasn t necessarily

Despite such improvements towards the contemporary ideal democracy many setbacks occurred in
achieving aspects of a true real democracy. As displayed in the graph in Document 2 the expansion of
the states was progressively growing while the racial exclusion progressively increased as well. The
rate of the racial exclusion grew more rapid than that of the state expansion indicating the growing
racial sentiments. These racial sentiments were what increasingly prevented minority races to vote and
be involved in the government, which reflected the goal at the time of white universal male suffrage.
Although this goal goes against today s common democratic ideal of universal suffrage, which was
not held at the time of Jackson. Andrew Jackson also attempts to Americanize the Native Americans to

Jonah Vs. Jonah In The Book Of Nineveh
The people simply humbled themselves before God and He had mercy on them cancelling His
judgment. Jonah had wanted Nineveh to be destroyed by God and this would prolong the life of the
kingdom of Israel. But instead he was the main source of them hearing the message of repentance. He
had preferred to die instead of fulfilling his divinely appointed mission. Now he had no one to blame
for Nineveh s survival except himself and God s mercy. This made Jonah so angry that he was
inconsolable and wanted to die.

The Most Important Elements In The Lion The Witch And The...
What are the most important elements in the creation of Narnia? Everyone in this class has answered
this question in a different way. Each of the elements are important, but only a few stand out to me.
Though all the events, people, and items found in Magician s Nephew were significant, I believe the
vital items in the making of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe were Digory Kirke, the apple of
protection, and the magic rings.
First of all, Digory Kirke is one of the essential elements in the creation of The Lion, the Witch, and
the Wardrobe. Digory contributed to many things that were vital in the creation of Narnia and the rest
of the books. Without Digory, Charn, the little silver bell, and the Witch would have never been
discovered. If the Witch had never come to Narnia, there would be no winter, no Tumnus, and no
meeting with Aslan. When Digory went to the garden, plucked the apple of protection from the tree in
the garden, and planted it, he protected Narnia from the Witch and gave Lucy the chance to happen
upon the wardrobe that he later made from one of the trees. When the tree from Narnia was struck
down by lightning, Digory, instead of chopping it up for fire wood, turned it into a marvelous
wardrobe, which on one stormy day, a little girl found and ventured into this new world. As noted, the
inquisitive magician s nephew played a crucial role in the previously mentioned tale.
As stated earlier, the apples of protection, the one in Narnia and the one

INTRODUCTION
The aim of this research was to look at the discrimination towards teenagers from certain family
backgrounds, like stepfamilies, ethnic families and single parent families in council housing estates.
The aim is to look at the age range of 13 18 years, as these youngsters have a tendency to be criticised
more by society. With no thought that they are individuals with different morals and personalities.
There is a high level of petty crime, recreational drugs, truancy and teenage pregnancy in this range of
younger people. There is also a higher level of social exclusions for this age group. There is always a
tendency to lay blame on their circumstances and backgrounds. It is not necessarily true that if you
come from a less adequate background, that you are more likely to be an underachiever. If you give
someone self esteem then they can always do better. People assume that they can pass judgement on
someone else s life, which is labelling them as inadequate.
Like traditional stereotypes, the teenager has been given a distorted image by the modern media (Int,
2003). Both young people and older adults deserve more choices in where and how they spend their
time. Others should not dictate them, how and where. The need is more acceptable for this to happen

Recommend Elements In The Design Of Audit Trails And Data...
Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring
programs With today s advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security plan
to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized personnel.
Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting up individual
passwords (Wager, Lee, Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the patient s information
for them to complete their job task. When an employee is entering information into the system, it
needs to be in real time as much as possible to keep human errors from occurring and for a correction
to be made there will need to be a note attached to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also need a more secure software to keep those who are not authorized from accessing the system.
One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only accessible by
the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011). The software
also needs to be designed that once the data has been retrieved for an audit, it can no longer be
changed unless it is approved through the chain of command.
Part 3: Recommend device selection based on workflow, ergonomic and human factors The current
system that we have is not effective for the staff and needs to be upgraded. When choosing a system
for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our
staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in
patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to work.
These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so visitors
cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the fingerprint
identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete real time
charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password and
forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to the
computer (Maksimov Kalkis, 2016).

Legion Inappropriate For Children
Before a film is released, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) sets strict guidelines for
the rating of the film, thoroughly reviewed to make sure that it is appropriate for the intended
audience. Depending on the severity of the content, the film is rated. Descriptions are listed about why
the film received a particular rating. With these ratings in place, one can easier decide if they wish to
view the film. These ratings help parents know what their children are watching. Parents often exert
this right when approving what their children watch. Parents often do not wish for their children to be
exposed to violence, sexual themes, pervasive language, drug and alcohol use, or terrifying images or
themes. For those reasons, children are not allowed to watch movies of the horror genre. The movie
Legion is one such movie. Due to the overwhelming depictions of violence, challenging and
disturbing psychological themes, and crass, profane language, I firmly believe that the movie Legion
is inappropriate for children and young teens.
While there is violence in the world, there is an overwhelming amount depicted in Legion. In the ...

The movie contains twenty four occurrences of the F word and its variants, eighteen uses of
scatological references, multiple times where God s name is used in vain, one use of c***, as well as
many other swears ( Legion (2010 ). Children may then go on to imitate the phrases used. This also
can unintentionally instruct that it okay to swear or use derogatory language towards another person or
situation. Kids may try to act out the movie while playing and use the language of the script. Younger
teens may emulate the language used to appear older or more mature around older teens or adults.
With as many outside influences there are to a child s terminology, watching Legion would only steer
children towards adding cusses to their

Nicolas II was to inherit the throne after his father died, but he was not prepared to. You will soon read that if he was properly prepared then he would ve had a magic life. Tsar Nicholas II aroused the Russian Revolution. Alexander III died at the age of 49 in 1894; Nicholas II did not feel he was up to take the throne. Nicholas had to take the throne, get marry and have children to secure the future heir. He married Princess Alix of Hesse Darmstadt. • 3. Stand And Deliver Themes Stand and Deliver Relevancy Today The film Stand and Deliver follows math teacher Jaime Escalante s determination to motivate underprivileged students and help them reach academic excellence. At the end of this whole journey, the students are able to realize their full potential and grow from the experience. There are several universal themes that the filmmaker is able to express through the use of various impactful filmmaking techniques. I believe that the film s passion is still relevant today, as the themes showcased throughout the film can very much be understood and empathized with by a diverse range of students in modern times. One of the themes that stand out the most in the film is the struggle to overcome adversity and push through problems in one s life that could otherwise get in the way from achieving goals. In the film, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the film, various students are shown to be quite vocal about what they believe they cannot accomplish, and this mainly revolves around Jaime Escalante s math class. Many students claim that math is just not for them, that they do not understand it and are better off without it. The filmmaker specifically shows this through a scene in the beginning of the film when Escalante asks different students a simple question on a basic concept in math and given in return unsure answers. The filmmaker gives close up shots of the students looking down at their desks, seemingly unconfident in their own understanding of basic math. The students at first resist trying to take math seriously, but with time Escalante eventually succeeds at sparking their interest and showing them that they are capable of a lot more than they believe to be possible. Plenty of students today deal with low self esteem and may even limit their own advancement and achievements simply because they do not believe in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Spectacular Changes In Alpine Environment Essay Introduction: Spectacular changes take place in alpine environments. An obvious observation is that the tree line ends and peaks emerge. A more subtle change occurs within the plants. There are two major ways in which plants adapt to survive in alpine environments; morphologically and physiologically. Although, W.D. Billings, in his Adaptations and Origins of Alpine Plants , states that there are also a few other manners in which they adapt including reproductive and ecological (1974). However, the main focus of this essay is on the morphological and physiological adaptations plants make. Description of an Alpine Environment: Before discussing what changes plants undergo to survive in alpine environments, a description of an alpine environment is needed. A brief explanation would be that an alpine environment begins where the tree line on a mountain ends (Frank Salisbury et al., 1968). Classic characteristics of this sort of environment include low temperatures, short and instable seasons, as well as windy and snowy conditions (Billings, 1974). The Latin word for alpine is albus which means white or snow covered according to Korner in his Alpine Plant Life (1949). Korner also believes that there are only two main categories of plants that reside in alpine environments that ought to be considered alpine plants. The categories include those plants that are restricted to life in alpine environments and those found in alpine environments as well as some lower altitudes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Types, Diagnosis, And Treatment Candidiasis Introduction Candidiasis refers to the fungal infection caused by any Candida which is a form of yeast. There are more than 20 species of candida yeast that might cause illnesses in people, but the common Candida species is the Candida albicans (Hospenthal Rinaldi, 2015). However, the yeasts are found in small amounts in the mucous membrane and skin, and they do not cause infection, but the overgrowth would lead to infection. Specific drugs and health issues may cause the yeast to overgrow especially in warm and moist body parts leading dangerous symptoms. The signs and symptoms of candidiasis depend on the part of the human body that is infected (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). Health centers in many nations have reported that Candida species cause fungal infections leading to hospitalization of patients. The paper focuses on candidiasis by exploring its causes, epidemiology, types, diagnosis and treatment as well as prevention measures and risk factors. The thesis of the paper is that candidiasis is a fatal disease that can lead to defects and even death. Epidemiology In the United States, Candida is the third cause of nosocomial bloodstream diseases accounting for about 8 10 percent of the cases. Moreover, three quarter of females in America experience vaginitis during their life with 25 percent caused by Candida (Contreras Fuentes, 2013). • 6. Aca Code Of Ethics Essay Which code(s) might cause you difficulties when you are a practicing counselor and why? Professional ethic codes designate the highest expectations of professional implications and describe the potential situations that we can face in practice. Instead of these great efforts, one booklet cannot include all we need when we encounter an ethical dilemma. Particularly, when the law and ethics code conflicts, ethical decision making become highly critical and problematic. According to me, one of the most challenging ethical dilemmas occurs while working with a minor client who demands for keeping her/his information confidential. As far as I concern, this might not be uncommon in the counseling field and ethical decision making does not seem to be easy. Besides the professional ethical codes, counselors have to know laws and consider the best interest of the client. As a general rule, parents and legal guardians are responsible for and have a right to be informed about their children until these children reach the age of eighteen. Although there are some exceptions, this is the general rule in the US and most of the countries around the world. Certainly, this is a reasonable rule especially if parents and legal guardians are supportive and cooperative with the therapist. ACA Code of ethics (2014) dealt with this issue with the codes of ... It was informative, interesting, and sparked left me researching unfamiliar terms as I left the study. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this observation experience and I feel as though it is one of the most, if not the most, beneficial hands on experiences I have had thus far. The differences between pediatrics and geriatrics have been discussed, taught, and even viewed through video in class, but there is nothing quite like seeing all of those differences in person. Legally they have to put labels on everything used by the patient that has their name, D.O.B, and that barium was used. The SLP poured barium into the cups, which she then flavored with Kool Aid and then barium was added to applesauce. This allowed the SLP to test various consistencies and see how the patient tolerated them. Thin, Nectar, and Puree consistencies were observed during the study. The study requires several disciplines to be presented in the room in order for it to be completed. There was a radiologist, radiology technician, nurse, an SLP, and the mother of the child. This made for a tight space during the study itself. Once the room was prepped and all required personnel was ready the SLP went to get the family. The steps were explained in detail to the mother and then instructions were given to her on which way the child should be facing while being fed the samples. I was surprised to learn that the child s mother was actually the one feeding him the test consistencies and not a trained professional. There were so things happening in the room all at once. The SLP was trying to watch the monitor for penetration and aspiration all while trying to help the mother keep the baby s attention. • 8. Hockey Lockout Analysis Since the start of the twenty first century, there has been two different lockouts in the National Hockey League. The first to happen was in the 2004 2005 season. The entire season was lost due to an unsuccessful bargaining agreement. The second one to happen was in the 2012 2013 season. Over sixty percent of the season was lost and the league had to cancel special events such as the Winter Classic games and the All Star Weekend. They were able to salvage the tail end of the season and were still able to have the Stanley Cup Playoffs (The hockey lockout of 2012 2013, 2013). In the negotiations, the league was focuses on the idea of the costs being certain. They would make sure that costs are certain by introducing a salary cap. The union was against the idea of a salary cap and insisted that salaries were based on market conditions and it would not agree to capped team payrolls. As an attempt to save the season, the league dropped the demand that the salaries would not exceed fifty five percent of revenue. The union then reconsidered and became willing to accept a salary cap. The two parties however, could not close the gap on how much the salary cap should be. Neither side would budge and finally time ran out, resulting in the league cancelling the 2004 2005 season. The cancelation caused an estimated two billion in revenue for the teams and roughly one billion in lost salaries from the players. • 9. The Face Of Battle By John Keegan John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught British cadets military history, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar, nor seen the aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has functioned simply as a battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects followed by the outcome. However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side of war, the experience of battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit? What are the vital features in determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run? Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the main interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies. • 10. Satire In A Modest Proposal The Era of Hard Feelings Satire has been a common theme throughout modern culture, varying from media, to a person s everyday demeanor or personality. Satire is defined as a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, or the weakness and bad qualities of a person, government, and/or society (Webster s). It has become a natural occurrence in America s way of life, even all around the world. It eventually evolved into a popular way of communication called sarcasm. However, satire was not always widely accepted in popular culture. It was often shunned or misunderstood as a crude outlook on life. For example, an infamous piece titled A Modest Proposal used a very large amount of satire throughout the entire essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an extremely satirical idea simply because of the fact that it is ridiculing two types of people in one sentence. The first, being the Irish Catholics, are made fun of quite obviously. The innuendo is that, prior to the statement, it is suggested that there is a surplus of papist babies born nine months after Lent, later supported by calling Catholics the principal breeders (Swift 622). This is seen as an advantage to decrease the amount of Catholics in England, taking the opportunity and selling more babies, but with a religious background. This idea is supported by the second, more hidden bash of prejudice Englishmen with a Protestant religious background. The idea that the number of papists would decrease is presented through Swift while the narrator is in the mindset of an English Protestant just to make fun and to point out how foolish the idea of it all actually is. The next example of extreme satire is when the author refers to an outside source. Swift goes on to say that A very worthy person, a true lover of his country, and whose virtues I highly esteem, was lately pleased in discoursing on this matter to offer a refinement upon my scheme (Swift 621). In the analysis of the critical moment in the United States, Robert Remini paints a vivid picture of Henry Clay. Clay is brought out as a man who was contradictory. He fought against the slavery, but on the other hand, he equally owned slaves. He was a common man but unfortunately could not be elected as the president of the country. Clay was an outstanding man who however was identified with lack of discipline. His dedication to an idea that the nation was a continuous union of people was not certain. Finally, the author paints vividly esteemed Clay who was determined to avert the catastrophe with the great and last compromise. The credible and heroic portrait is what emerges throughout this book. All along, Remini reminds the readers the advanced age and the illness of Clay that hindered his hard work and lastly made him leave Washington before completing his task. In Remini s thesis, there a robust, authentic element: starting with the convention of the constitution someone can argue that the Union was able to be together because of many compromises made initiated by the leaders who were aware for the need of a neutral standing position. Remini, however, transfers the point in extreme and oversimplifies the debate to a point he ignores the six scholarship decades and goes back to the ham handed group explanation. Robert Remini says of Great Triumvirate which he alludes to the era s great men who passed away like Henry clay; the nation would lack men who will be devoted zealously to be of service in the Union and men who possessed candid capabilities in leadership and ... By exploring the Good Life, the topic of economic value comes to mind and the question that permeates is if that thing should or should not have an economic value. It is crazy to think about some of the things that people charge others that do not have any real significance. For instance, Michael Sandel pointed how in some cities, non violent offenders can pay ninety dollars a night for a prison cell upgrade. That is an example to me that seems very pointless because if a person is a criminal why should his or hers economic status put them to a greater advantage than anybody else in that prison. Drawing from the content from this week s readings I believe that certain things should contain more economic value than other. For instance things like the internet, adoptions, health care, education, and parking are things to me that have economic value, but really shouldn t. On the contrary, things that should have economic value are things like the preservation of the environment, museums, and recreational and national parks. Things that I believe should not have such an economic value are things that to me seem essential to an individual s life. Strauss explains how certain events and characters from Homers The Odyssey might have actually existed, but also uses modern discoveries from the Bronze Age to compare Homers account to those of Egypt, the Middle East, and etc. While Homer s epic should not be read as a historical document which recounts the Trojan War hundred percent accurately, it can still be seen as document which embodies some historical truth. The novel as a whole explains the customs, economic standing, fighting styles and beliefs of the Greeks. Strauss s writing style allows for the book to be accessible to both students and historians. He argues that just like Franz Ferdinand was the spark which ignited World War 1, Helen on the other hand was just a spark which escalated an existing tension between the Greeks and Trojans. Strauss s personal input on the war itself gives the novel a different outlook on the Trojan War because, it allows for readers to see beyond the facts and make connections with ideas that Strauss had made with recent discoveries and Homers epic. Strauss sectionalizes the book in 11 chapters, excluding the introduction and conclusion, and in each chapter he covers a different aspect of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, views vary widely when assessing different studies such as those that measure the possible harm risks inflected on women working in the field. There are two main opposing views on this subject matter, the liberal and the feminist. Rebecca Whisnant and Christine Stark (2004) challenge this perception through identifying the divide in which we assume that whoever we are, the prostitute is not (p. 296). I will proceed by discussing the liberal views debated in this article. Peterson Iyer claims that the most common approach taken by prostitutes organizations is to view prostitution as a matter of individual free choice (p. 24). The music of Bali a Hindu island afloat in a Muslim sea was described by the American composer Colin McPhee as the stirring mystery of a thousand bells (Gordon, 1994). Everyone is different, has their own personality and views but it is not an uncommon occurrence when their way of thinking clashes or is challenged with others. Harper Lee s novel To Kill a Mockingbird (T.K.A.M) and Marjane Satrapi s graphic novel Persepolis, while set in different time periods, explore similar issues of discrimination which are shown through techniques used by the authors. In both books, Harper Lee and Marjane Satrapi have built their stories around young female protagonists, Scout a hard headed and impressionable tomboy from T.K.A.M and Marjane from Persepolis. By having the stories be narrated from a child s perspective, it allows readers to understand the characters unsophisticated and open minds. While living in different settings and having separate values, both Scout and Marjane come across aspects of sexism and misogyny. From a young age, Scout had learnt from her older brother, Jem, that things associating with girls are bad and things associating with boys are good, Jem told me I was being a girl, that girls always imagined things, that s why other people hated them so, and if I started behaving like one I could just go off and find some to play with. However, he sees his only option of obtaining signs of wealth, like a nice car, are via street crime. Thus, Caine s deviance can be attributed to Strain Theory as well. Caine takes the deviant path of an innovator in order to achieve cultural goals. For instance, he makes and sells drugs for money and he mugs a man in order to get nice rims for his new car. Caine rarely shows any intention of using institutionalized means of achieving cultural goals he claims he was never fit for some boring job. However, it must also be considered that Caine was born into a family that belonged to an urban slum and whose way of life had crime woven into it. Caine grew up watching his father and his father s friends deal drugs while rarely working normal jobs. He claimed that he even learned how to make drugs from his father. As a result, it becomes evident that Caine had all the opportunity in the world to be turned on to the life of a hustler since it was the same life his father led and that his friends would later live as well. In this way, Caine s life is an ideal example of illegitimate opportunity theory since crime was fused into his way of life. Growing up a young black man in an urban slum certainly did not deter Caine from deviating either. He grew up with the stigma of a young Black man. This master status led Caine to believe that other people, specifically non Blacks, always thought that young black men were always in trouble. For example, when Caine ... • 31. The Current Public Education System Better Schooling The current public education system claims to have the student s best interest as a top priority, but in reality, it is actually harming the students. Almost all are short changed the way education is set up now. Boys and girls learn in different ways. They are not different merely because of how they are treated in society, but because of how their brains function. However, when teachers try to teach different genders at the same time, the majority of the time, it just will not work. Badly needed are teachers that understand the differences between, and how to teach, boys and girls. Coed schools hurt more than they help, not allowing children to reach their potential. Single sex schooling is more beneficial to the student s learning. Many claim that by separating young girls and boys, gender stereotypes are being enforced. In 2013, UCLA put together findings of pros and cons to single sex education. Among the downsides, a common fear was that this undermines gender equality. The thought is, because girls and boys are in different schools, this means one can t do what the other can. Generally, this means girls can t be as competitive, or independent, and boys can t be as caring, or artistic. These stereotypes are in the current society, men holding higher paying jobs, and women being mothers or teachers, the more nurturing jobs. But, today s men and women who fall into this common stereotype have grown up to become how they are through coeducation. A new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How was democracy defined in this era? In a democracy each and every citizen of the state is supposed to have an equal say in the government. Today everyone has the opportunity to vote and has equal rights with no restrictions to American citizens. On the other hand back in the Jacksonian Era this was different. Before his time this wasn t necessarily the case though and during Jackson s era many improvements were made while many improvements that should ve been made weren t. Despite such improvements towards the contemporary ideal democracy many setbacks occurred in achieving aspects of a true real democracy. As displayed in the graph in Document 2 the expansion of the states was progressively growing while the racial exclusion progressively increased as well. The rate of the racial exclusion grew more rapid than that of the state expansion indicating the growing racial sentiments. These racial sentiments were what increasingly prevented minority races to vote and be involved in the government, which reflected the goal at the time of white universal male suffrage. Although this goal goes against today s common democratic ideal of universal suffrage, which was not held at the time of Jackson. Andrew Jackson also attempts to Americanize the Native Americans to supply the Indians an option for staying on their land. Jackson forces them to comply with his demands and if the Indians refuse they will be forced west. He abides by the belief at the time that Indians didn t fall under the white male description therefore they don t have the ability to remain in their lands since they our desired by the government. He had preferred to die instead of fulfilling his divinely appointed mission. Now he had no one to blame for Nineveh s survival except himself and God s mercy. • 37. The Most Important Elements In The Lion The Witch And The... What are the most important elements in the creation of Narnia? Everyone in this class has answered this question in a different way. Each of the elements are important, but only a few stand out to me. Though all the events, people, and items found in Magician s Nephew were significant, I believe the vital items in the making of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe were Digory Kirke, the apple of protection, and the magic rings. First of all, Digory Kirke is one of the essential elements in the creation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Digory contributed to many things that were vital in the creation of Narnia and the rest of the books. Without Digory, Charn, the little silver bell, and the Witch would have never been discovered. If the Witch had never come to Narnia, there would be no winter, no Tumnus, and no meeting with Aslan. When Digory went to the garden, plucked the apple of protection from the tree in the garden, and planted it, he protected Narnia from the Witch and gave Lucy the chance to happen upon the wardrobe that he later made from one of the trees. When the tree from Narnia was struck down by lightning, Digory, instead of chopping it up for fire wood, turned it into a marvelous wardrobe, which on one stormy day, a little girl found and ventured into this new world. As noted, the inquisitive magician s nephew played a crucial role in the previously mentioned tale. As stated earlier, the apples of protection, the one in Narnia and the one ... INTRODUCTION The aim of this research was to look at the discrimination towards teenagers from certain family backgrounds, like stepfamilies, ethnic families and single parent families in council housing estates. The aim is to look at the age range of 13 18 years, as these youngsters have a tendency to be criticised more by society. With no thought that they are individuals with different morals and personalities. There is a high level of petty crime, recreational drugs, truancy and teenage pregnancy in this range of younger people. There is also a higher level of social exclusions for this age group. There is always a tendency to lay blame on their circumstances and backgrounds. It is not necessarily true that if you come from a less adequate background, that you are more likely to be an underachiever. If you give someone self esteem then they can always do better. People assume that they can pass judgement on someone else s life, which is labelling them as inadequate. Like traditional stereotypes, the teenager has been given a distorted image by the modern media (Int, 2003). Both young people and older adults deserve more choices in where and how they spend their time. Others should not dictate them, how and where. The need is more acceptable for this to happen for older ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring programs With today s advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security plan to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized personnel. Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting up individual passwords (Wager, Lee, Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the patient s information for them to complete their job task. One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only accessible by the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011). The software also needs to be designed that once the data has been retrieved for an audit, it can no longer be changed unless it is approved through the chain of command. Part 3: Recommend device selection based on workflow, ergonomic and human factors The current system that we have is not effective for the staff and needs to be upgraded. When choosing a system for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to work. These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so visitors cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the fingerprint identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete real time charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password and forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to the computer (Maksimov Kalkis, 2016). ... Legion Inappropriate For Children Before a film is released, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) sets strict guidelines for the rating of the film, thoroughly reviewed to make sure that it is appropriate for the intended audience. Depending on the severity of the content, the film is rated. Descriptions are listed about why the film received a particular rating. With these ratings in place, one can easier decide if they wish to view the film. These ratings help parents know what their children are watching. Parents often exert this right when approving what their children watch. Parents often do not wish for their children to be exposed to violence, sexual themes, pervasive language, drug and alcohol use, or terrifying images or themes. For those reasons, children are not allowed to watch movies of the horror genre. The movie Legion is one such movie.
