* We wanted to check the initiative taken by the Consumers to fight against malpractices and its
effects?
* Does education level of people make them more aware about the unfair trade practices going in
the consumer market?
* Are people aware about consumer courts and consumer protection acts?
* Do people take the initiative to go ahead and fight against, raise voice against these malpractices?
Through our research we will try to find out all the above objectives and come to a conclusion
whether the steps and actions implemented by the government to raise the level of consumer
awareness among the masses is affective or not?
Limitations of the research * The project is not purely based on primary information but includes a
lot of information obtained from various sources.
* The sample size is small compared to the population of our country.
* The project has approximately 50% of primary data and rest of the data is secondary.
* The project is based on human assumptions and their self thinking as different persons thinking

Consumer vs. Customer
A consumer and customer are commonly used in the same context at times in business literature.
However, they are not the same. Consumers are just one sub group of customers. Consider this
example with the Philips Company. If a restaurant buys a Philips mixie (blender) for

Interview With Blanchefort Djimsa
To learn from another that is not like you, that is from another country, gives you the opportunity to
acquire knowledge that opens your eyes and lets you better understand the world around you. That
can definitely be said after conducting my interview for the Cross Cultural Interaction Report. I had
the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Blanchefort Djimsa, a Food Science major, who is from
the country of Chadwhich is located in Central Africa. Blanchefort is from the city of Moundou,
the third largest city, which is in the South of Chad. Here on scholarship, he is attending
Oklahoma State University to further his education. Blanchefort told me about his country and
gave me a different perspective about Chad. From the Saharan desert in the North, to the
savannah plains in the central region, to the more fertile soil and rivers that feed into Lake Chad
in the Southwest, Chad is the fifth largest country in Africa. According to the World Fact Book the
country is comparatively slightly 3 times the size of California . With two seasons, the rainy
season from late April to September (depending on the length of the rainy season which can vary),
and the summer season for the rest of the year, Chad is home to around 11.5 million people. With a
growing population the country has mostly a younger generation. With almost half the population
being under 18 years of age. The majority of the population is girls/women. Women also have a
higher life expectancy then men living to

The Contents of the Tomb and What They Suggest About Life in Ancient Egypt at the Time of
Tutankamun Archaeological evidence from the tomb of Tutankhamun provides substantial
information about life Kingdom Egypt in the eighteenth dynasty. From the archaeological evidence
gained from the tombs conclusions can be drawn about religion and the afterlife, the everyday life
of ancient Egyptians, of Government during the five hundred year period, and of the arts and
sciences of the time. The tomb paintings reveal the nature of the Egyptian belief concerning the
afterlife, and objects such as the golden burial mask, the miniature effigy of the king, the canopic

The idea that the in order to reach immortality, one must go through a journey, as symbolised by
a journey on a celestial boat through the heavens is another indication of their religious beliefs.
The portrait head of Tutankhamun rising out of a blue lotus flower, reflects the Egyptian belief
that life grew out of a primeval mound, as a result of observing the annual flooding of the Nile.
This creation myth is at the heart of many of their religious myths. The golden burial mask,
sheds light on the Egyptian belief in the afterlife, as one which in its initial stage as being
dangerous because the presence of the cobras (ureus) is there to spit venom into anyone who
might harm the king. The ornate quality of this mask reflects a deeply seated notion of the
afterlife. The fact that the mask is supposed to protect the body reflects the Egyptian belief in the
afterlife where bodies need to be preserved in order to unify the physical components of the body
with its ka. The ankh, which Tutankhamun holds, and the presence of the god Khephri is a
reflection of the belief that death is a rebirth into the next world. The wooden miniature effigy of
the king, placed in tombs as a substitute for the deceased in case the god Osiris orders him to
perform manual labour in the next life is indicative of a very strong belief in the afterlife. The
presence of the canopic shrine, protected by

Joel Feinberg Psychological Egoism Analysis
Psychological egoism is the interpretation that humans are always inspired by self interest, even in
what seem to be acts of altruism. It claims that, when people choose to help others, they do so
ultimately because of the personal benefits that they themselves expect to obtain, directly or
indirectly, from doing so. Psychological egoism, which was widely recognized by psychologists and
philosophers states that all human actions are motivated by selfish needs to benefit themselves.
According to psychological egoists true altruismdoes not exist because the consequence of such an
act leads to an increase in personal happiness. However, Joel Feinberg does not agree with that
theory and in his essay he disagreed with the thesis that altruism... Show more content on

He would have explained to me that even though some philosopher could argue that all of our
acts are considered as selfish since the main source of our action is us therefore it does make
sense that our only motif is to obtain pleasure for ourselves. As mentioned in the Internet
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Psychological egoists cannot establish their view simply by
pointing to the pleasure or self benefit that accompanies so many actions. After all, often self
benefit only seems to be what we ultimately desire, though a closer look reveals benefits like
pleasure are likely just byproducts while the proximate desire is for that which generates them (
Psychological Egoism). Joel Feinberg would explain that the acts that are generated to help
others even though we can receive pleasure for acting such way could be and should be
considered as an altruistic act. Pleasure can be a byproduct of a good deed but what matters is what
generated the good deed and if it s for a good reason and to help others it should be considered as
an altruistic

Keywords Photovoltaic (PV), Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Parallel power
processing (PPP),Power Plane Analysis(PPA), Direct energy Transfer(DET). INTRODUCTION In
recent years, Energy comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and
geothermal heat. These resources are renewable. Therefore, for all practical purposes, these
resources can be considered to be unlimited, unlike dwindling conventional fossil fuels. The
renewable energy sources are known to be much cleaner and produce energy without the harmful
effects of pollution unlike their conventional counterparts. Solar energy is converted into electrical
energy and the electrical power generation in PV systems is highly affected by the temperature
and the insolation level which makes it impractical to directly connect them to the load without
any storage devices or utility grid interface. The PV systems focused on the minimization of the
installation costs and the maximization of the energy capture and conversion efficiency. In order
to maximize the conversion efficiency, the PV system should be operated at its maximum power
point (MPP). This power is supplied to the load using parallel power processing topology to
reduce the amount of power processed through the converter and, hence, decrease the converter
size and increase the efficiency by means of direct energy transfer (DET).The concept of the PPP
topology is shown in Figure.

Tropical Rainforest
Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climates, and lots of rain. Rainforests are
typically found near the earth s equator. They receive anywhere from 60 to 160 inches of
precipitation that is normally distributed evenly throughout the year. Since there is a lot of rainfall
and heat, it is very humid in those areas. Humidity , however, is not a bad thing in that area. The
plants and animals in the tropical rainforestsurvive due to rainfall and humidity helping plants thrive
and providing food for animals.
In fact climate is such an important part of the rainforest that many species are currently
experiencing novel conditions because of habitat fragmentation and climate change (Low Potential
for Climate). This means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is the South American three toed sloth. This animal has fur covered with
green algae, which is perfect camouflage in the forest canopy. Other animals use camouflage to
hide to wait for their prey. One such predator is the Boa Constrictor. The Boa Constrictor s
uniquely patterned body allows it to camouflage itself. It s an interesting technique. They have
natural habits of camouflaging themselves. One adaptation quite the opposite of camouflage is
that of the brightly colored poison arrow frogs and poison dart frogs. The bright colors of these
species serve as a warning to predators not to eat them. These frogs are so poisonous that natives
wipe their arrow heads on them to make them more lethal.
The creatures and woodland are fed and nurtured by the trees in their environment. When it
rains, the rain knocks all the insects (food for other animals) out of the air and ends up on the
ground for the animals to then be fed. The woodland and shrubbery are fed by the rain and
humidity in the sky. Tropical rainforests provide a nearly constant supply of water and a wide
variety of food for the animals. There is still a lot to be discovered about the tropical rainforests.
However, the woodland and creatures still thrive because their environment and even the world
provide their lively

Hey Biz,
As you can tell this email is over 140 characters. My apologizes in advance.
I m about to enter my junior year at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and I don t really have any

1.Opportunity can totally be manufactured: I have learned this opportunity at numerous points in
my life, however, the opportunity that stands out the most for me is when I got the New York
Times (NYT) to give me a blog on their website. Every year, the NYT used to select 8 students
from around the world to blog for them during their college search. I read this blog series for a
number of years and when I became a high school senior, I decided that I wanted to try to be one
of the students selected. However, I realized that the NYT would never reach out to my small
underfunded NYC public school so I reached out to them. I told them about the perspective that I

study you were more likely to get a job if you mention the interviewer s name at least three times.
When it came time to interview, I threw out all my coding buzzwords, tried to keep up with the
coding problem, and kept repeating my interviewer s name. I spent that summer at Google s

Chihiro s Response To Sociology
Perhaps the most obvious example of change as a positive influence in the film can be observed
in Chihiro s maturation. Prior to entering the spirit realm, Chihiro behaves as a typical, stubborn
child unwilling to accept change; this can be observed in the way she responds to seeing her
new school as she and her parents drive into town: sticking out her tongue as she says, It s gonna
stink. I liked my old school. During the same scene, Chihiro s responses to her parents even
slightly suggest that she is a bit spoiled as she complains how depressing it is that this is the first
time she has gotten a bouquet of flowers and it s a goodbye present. When her mother reminds her
that her father had gotten a rose for her birthday before, Chihiro

Loss Of Identity In Alan Moore s Watchmen
Rorschach s journal from the grave: It has been sometime since the comedian died. From then on
nothing has been a laughing matter. Us watchmen have been through nuclear war, murder, and ice
cold twists and turns. I feel like our story could be influential to anyone s life.
Through Alan Moore s exquisite writing and plot twists he encompasses identity, real world
problems, and nonВsuperhero like storytelling.
Identity is one reason why Alan Moore s Watchmenis one of the most influential books of all time.
Each character in this novel has their own identity and viewpoint of the world. The most amazing
example of this is Rorschach. He is my favorite character in this book simply because his
viewpoint on the world is to lookout for himself and what he ... Show more content on

The fact that this takes place in USA late 1900s makes this book more relatable. Also this novel
has problems such as love, hatred, and violent crime. These real world problems are what makes
this novel even relatable. There is nothing like seeing superheros go through the same struggles we
go through daily. Finally, another reason why this book is very influential is that even though it is
a novel about superheroes it does not follow how, normally, a superhero story would be told. For
example, in
Superman comics, the clear villain is Lex Luthor and the clear hero is none other than
Superman. However in Watchmen Adrian Veidt was thought to be a superhero for most of the
novel until it was revealed that he was actually a villain. Also, the watchmen are supposed to be
heroes yet most of them come from terrible or violent backgrounds. This makes this novel that
much more riveting.
In Summation, Alan Moore s Watchmen is one of the best novels of all time. I believe it is
because this book is the embodiment of identity, real world problems, and nonВsuperhero like
storytelling. Identity in this novel is led by in my opinion the best character Rorschach

How Liberals Are Ruining College
My Thoughts on How Liberals are Ruining College This to me can be summed up in one word:
sad. It s truly saddening to me that we ve become this way. Where everything is taken to the most
extreme levels and assumed to be hate speech or that it of course must be meant in the worst
possible way. There are of course times where people do take things too far and mean them in the
worst of ways. Although, that is not what this is about. This is about the destruction of free speech
to the extent of teaching people to might as well not have free thinking. We might as well go
around apologizing to one another for the things we thoughtor even almost thought. Not to mention

It can almost be frightening. I know who I am and the things I say sometimes. After reading this
I know certain things I say or joke about would not be tolerated. Although I only ever talk to my
family and my small, sphere of friends who all mostly think the same way I do. It makes me
want to check the policies for the school I plan to go to. I hadn t even read NWACC s until a
good three or four weeks into the school year. Some might say that it would have been smart to
do this sooner, but I always thought if I used a little common sense I wouldn t end up
somewhere I wouldn t want to be. I ve survive this far, but obviously, that s what a lot of these
schools or professors were thinking as well. The worst part is that some of these schools, where
these incidents have happened, already had numerous policies and rules in place discriminating
against these things. Yet people still accidently said something that set someone off! There s no
end! The punishment is even more asinine than the act at times. There are occasions when there s
an outcry over a simple statement that was misunderstood and it is dealt with easily. For
example, in one case another email was sent out disregarding the last one and apologizing. In
other cases, they are removed, fired, or banned for a year. Over what is offending anywhere from

Charles Darwin s Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection...
Darwin collected and described thousands of animals and plants. In South America he observed the
adaptations of organisms to a variety of habitat from jungle to grassland to mountain habitats. In the
temperate regions the species resembled more closely the species of the tropical regions of South
America rather than the corresponding speciesof the temperate regions of Europe. For example, in
the grasslands of Argentina there are no rabbits, however, there are rodents that resemble rabbits;
these rodents are unrelated to European rabbits but are similar to other rodents in South America.
Moreover, the fossils in South America are dissimilar to European fossils but have similarities with
extant (i.e. currently living) plants and animals... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cuvier founded the science of paleontology and described the differences between the fossil flora
and fauna in different strata of rock: he observed that the more recent strata had fossils that more
closely resembled extant organisms. Cuvier believed that the discontinuities between fossils in
different strata were brought about by catastrophes such as floods which caused the extinction of
many species living at a particular time. This interpretation of earth s history is termed
catastrophism and was also held by many contemporary geologists. By contrast, Hutton and
subsequently Lyell held that geological processes are slow and subtle but that over prolonged
periods of time (millions of years) these can lead to major changes; implicit in this viewpoint is an
age for the earth radically different from the 6,000 years of the biblical creationists.
Other key influences on Darwin were Malthus who had concluded that war and famine were
inevitable as the human population grew more rapidly than available resources, and Lamarck who
had proposed a theory of evolution based on a continuous process of gradual modification due to
acquired characteristics. Both Darwin and Wallace brought together a multitude of facts including
the geographical distribution of organisms, comparative morphology of living organisms and their
fossil precursors. They postulated that long term environmental changes including movement of

A STUDY BASED ON ROSENBERG S RESEARCH (1979)
Abstract
The development of children s identity particularly their self perceptions, is of a widespread
interest. This small scale study was based on previous research by Rosenberg (1979). The aim was
to determine the differences between self descriptions and the shift of the locus of self knowledge
with age. The design involved semi structured interviews of two participants aged 8 and 16 years.
The participants wrote some statements about who they were, which were coded according to
Rosenberg s (1979) themes of self descriptions. The responses about the locus of self knowledge
were also analysed to assess the shift with age and other themes were also analysed. The results

Analysis Of The Entertainer By Scott Joplin
The Entertainer by Scott Joplin
The Entertainer composed by Scott Joplin, was created because, rag time in the 1902 was
extremely popular between 1897 1917 . Moreover this music piece is resurrected for our
entertainment in the 1973 Oscar winning movie The String
The famous song published by John Stark Son of St. Louis, in the summer of December 29, 1902
was an song created for the lovers of ragtime music and dancers of the two step piece that was
popular during this period. The original piece key signature is C Major but got transposed to F
major for Tenor Saxophone playing. Therefore, the time signature is 4/4 with a tempo of 77 BPM
with Mezzo Forte being the starting dynamic.
One of the many style that you could analyze this ragtime piece is by using AA, BB, A, CC and in
the second time DD. This technique was used in what many commentators would say African
Americans... use.... freedom of speech in order to enhance their identity and presence in the United
States of America , giving in those times a more inferior community, in America, a freedom a way
to communicate. Throughout the song, the tone of the piece gives off a relaxing sound but gets
tedious after a while since there is not much variation between the notes, and is quite repetitive all
through the piece. The rhythm of the song is 4/4 timing which makes the characteristic identity
with ragtime in its two step andate. Highlighted throughout the musical piece, there a waves of

Social Movements Essay
Social Movements
Social movements require a fairly complex and multi dimensional paradigm in order to adequately
explain the multiplicity of factors that contribute to their development and sustenance. Like both
McAdam and Costain, I believe that the political process model is a much more appropriate theory
for social movements than either the classical model (with its emphasis on psychology) or the
resource mobilization model (with its ultra capitalistic approach to all socio political interactions).
Indeed, unlike the classical and resource mobilization theories, the political process model
incorporates a number of different factors, making it significantly more realistic and versatile. Both

288). But what exactly constitutes this structure of political opportunity?
Costain argues that movements only emerge when the federal government becomes more favorable
and supportive towards the members and goals of the movement. Thus, according to Costain, the
mild support of the government was instrumental in the psychological preparation of the movement
s members; a favorable government encouraged women to realize that there was a possible political
solution to their discontent. In this way, at the base of every successful social movement, Costain
establishes a prerequisite of an increasingly favorable government (that spurs the psychological
state necessary for a large scale social movement). Thus, the government indirectly influences the
formation of the social movement, and the social movement then pressures its (oftentimes
reluctant) supporter to pass legislative or protective action. In Costain s model, the government is
the key figure in both the formation and the success of the social movement.
While the government clearly plays an important role in almost every stage of the formation and
proliferation of a social movement, I do not think that it is nearly so crucial to the birth of social
movements. Indeed, I find Costain s emphasis on government a sort of regression to the earlier
elitist theories concerning the resources necessary for the success of a social movement. The
national government is

Garage doors are among several largest moving objects close to your house. As such, it should be
maintained to ensure it won t trigger accidents and traumas. When maintaining your own door, take
your openers into consideration as well, just because a poorly installed opener could prompt
uncontrollable force in the actual door. For both what to work smoothly, they must both be set up

This is a fact that you ought to always consider: the opener seriously isn t always the first device

case you have an older opener, simply replacing it which has a newer model would help to ensure
the safety of all your family members. The cost from the item varies with respect to the style and
brand you want, but they can be available in house supply stores.
When choosing a great opener, you must take into consideration several factors, such as power,
quiet operations, safety and security. Make sure that the one you select has enough power to handle
the weight of this garage door. Additionally it is important to select an opener that features a quiet

Comment On Humanistic School Of Psychology
Comment on humanistic school of psychology.
Humanistic school of psychology gained importance in midst of 20th century. The limitations of
Sigmund Freud s psycho analytic theory and B.F Skinner s behaviourism formed the basis of
Humanistic school of psychology .
Humanistic psychologists start from the conclusion that every person has their own unique way of
understanding the world and that the things they do only make sense in this way. Consequently,
the kinds of questions they ask about people differ from those asked by psychologists from other
approaches. Whereas other approaches take an objective view of people, in essence asking about
them, what is this person like humanistic psychologists priority is understanding people s
subjectivity, asking what is it like to be this person As a result, they reject the objective scientific
method as a way of studying people. Humanistic psychologists explicitly endorse the idea that ...

Essay On The Chocolate War
The Chocolate War is a novel about a freshman boy named Jerry Renault going against the
normalcy of school life and deciding not to sell the chocolate bars. Jerry was given this
assignment by a boy named Archie Costello. Archie is a member of The Vigils, a group that
makes assignments for a certain person or group of people to do based on who they are and how
they act. The odd thing about Archie telling Jerry not to sell the chocolates is that Archie earlier
told Brother Leon that The Vigils would support the chocolate sellingactivity.
Brother Leon and the other students are clearly shocked by this, due to a student never refusing to
do so before. But eventually people realize that it was an assignment given by The Vigils. At first

Archie makes plans to get back at Jerry and get some kind of reward out of all the help he put into
the chocolate sales. He creates an assembly where only students can participate to raffle off the
tickets. The raffle is a special one though which puts Jerry in a fight against the school thug,
Emile Janza. Students who buy raffle tickets get to write a boxing move on them, which Jerry
has to do to Janza, or vice versa, and where to hit them. During the fight, Jerry and Janza are
hitting each other as the papers say to. Janza is a lot stronger, and his punches have much more
power even though Jerry is able to land a few good hits of his own into the fight. A member of
The Vigils draws a raffle ticket that says for Janza to hit Jerry in the groin. Jerry, however, blocks
the punch, and the fight becomes more violent. Janza decides not to follow the rules of the fight,
and repeatedly punches Jerry. Finally, once Jerry falls to the ground, the lights in the stadium turn

Benefits of Foreign Direct Investment for Nations in Sub Saharan Africa
Executive Summary
As developing nations continue to expand their economic systems and find their place within the
global market, the practice of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has become increasingly common.
In 2013, developing nations received nearly 800 billion dollars of FDI, accounting for 54% of total
global inflows (UNCTAD 2). Though many have elected to adopt a cautious approach, Foreign
Direct Investment has proven to have a multitude of positive effects on developing nations
collective labor rights and productivity. For these reasons, the Committee for Economic
Development in Sub Saharan Africa should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This, simply put, is false. Nations with large inflows of foreign direct investment still have a hold
over their nation, and are allowed to set the terms and conditions of foreign investment. Though
governments may have to enforce policies to make their nations more enticing to FDI, this decision
remains solely theirs. Sovereignty remains in the hands of leaders of the state, not leaders of
corporations. The inclusion of Foreign Investment into a nation s economy does not preclude it from
continuing its tradition of government, but rather allows them to collaborate with outside
organizations to help aid the creation and institution of a more stable state politically, socially, and
economically.
Context and Importance
For many nations with weaker economic systems, Foreign Direct Investment can seem like a
daunting, and perhaps even unnecessary facet of day to day economic happenings. In the face of
decolonization in the 1960s, many formerly colonized nations subscribed to two separate economic
models: Import Substituting Industrialization (ISI) or Export Oriented Industrialization (EOI).
Import Substituting Industrialization relies upon heavy taxation of agriculture, and a movement
towards autarky that hinges on the production of everything that may be imported within the
nation. The thinking behind ISI suggests that government investment into all industries of a

Separation Of Powers Dbq Essay
The founders of the Constitution had to make a document that would give powers to the people yet
also protect against one or more person getting too powerful. This is called tyranny, or a
government with absolute power. They protected against it by creating Federalism, Separation of
powers, Checks and balances, and Bicameral legislative. This allowed us to have a constitution that
guards against suppressive tyrants.
One of the guards against tyranny is Federalism. Federalism is the sharing of powers between
federal and state governments. This allows an equal balance of power that the states and the federal
governments have and share between one another. One example is that both state and federal can
tax money. Yet only the federal can coin... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

states shall be composed of two senators from each state (Document D). This means that the states
would be represented in different ways. This would make the big and little states still want to
ratify the Constitution. It protects against tyranny as it allows the voices of the people to be
heard. Whether that is from the house or the senate, or by big or little states, it will still be had by
voters. This makes it so the government doesn t forget the people and

Power In Antigone And The Bacchae
Greek dramas often contained a singular view on historical ideas or people. This is demonstrated in
the two Greek tragedies, Antigone by Sophocles and the Bacchae by Euripides V. The tragedy
Antigone, critiques a Kreon who rules with fear and pride and suffers a tremendous tragedy, while
the Bacchae praises Pentheus for attempting to regain control over his chaotic city yet still suffer an
undesirable fate. Both tragedies focus on different aspects of political power. The fashion, in which
both Kreon and Pentheus achieve their title as king, demonstrates the extent of power they both
believe they contain. In Antigone, Kreon manages to claim the throne, amongst the chaos from a
rebel attack. Kreon s succession of the throne through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hades of his rightful property. Antigone warns Kreon that his decision of refusing to provide the
burial will result in punishment, Since you, a mere man, imposed them have the force to trample
on the gods unwritten laws (Antigone 490 493). Antigone accuses Kreon, a mere man, of
dishonoring the laws written by the gods. As a result of denying Hades of his rights, Kreon
suffers a fate worse than death. As a payment of withholding the body, Kreon must witness the
death of his only son Haimon and accept the death of Eurydike, his wife. Kreon attempting to
protect his honor from Antigone, results in Kreon losing everything he considers important in his
heart. However, Kreon s lost results in the humbling of his personality. At the end of Antigone, he

For this report, I have read all three of Dave Pelzer s books about his life: A Child Called It , The

from that viewpoint. From his earliest recollections of a relatively happy life with the Mommy

Aerosols Of Rain Case Study
Nature of Aerosols Effect on Cloud Cover and Precipitation over Central Gangetic Plain during

Introduction Aerosols are one of the key factors responsible for the climate change and
influencing the radiation budget of the earth. Columnar Aerosol loading (amount in the
atmosphere) is usually quantified by mass concentration (PM Particulate Matter) or by an
optical measure (AOD Aerosol Optical Depth). The effects of aerosols on atmosphere are
mainly categorized into four types (Lau et al., 2008). They are 1) aerosol direct effects, 2)
aerosol Semi direct effects, 3) first Indirect effects and 4) the second Indirect effects. Direct effect
of aerosols is the manifestation of dimming of solar radiation by aerosols due to scattering and
absorption. Due to blockage of incoming radiations, the temperature in the lower levels of the
atmosphere decreases and therefore, the convection process is weakened which results in a
thermodynamically stabilized atmosphere layer. This in turn, reduces the humidity in the lower
layers delaying the cloud formation (semi direct effect). The first indirect effect, which is also
called Twomey Effect, explains the aerosol and cloud interactions at microphysical scale (Twomey,
1977). The changes in aerosol concentrations (aerosols act as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN))
can also alter the cloud albedo and reflectivity. The second indirect effect deals with the

A Seminar Essay
Socratic Seminar Essay There has been a drastic change in the way we perceive the world and
this can alter the way we see each other. We tend to jump onto a bandwagon because it seems
easiest or because of one personal scenario. This is one of the main causes for prejudice and
injustice. How a person reacts to being oppressed may bring out another side of them, but this
side is their true self. This reaction speaks of his or her morals, ethics, and values. To these
people, all the perpetrators appear the same, but it is known that while some may easily go
along with it, some may choose to stand above it all. The concepts referenced to earlier will be
soon elaborated on in further analysis as this essay goes on. It is human nature to assume certain
ideas about certain people and it is also human nature to love and trust wholeheartedly. These two
aspects of our species collide when the terms prejudice and injustice are involved. If one person
had a certain relationship with someone different than themselves in some way, they will most
likely come in contact with someone who they feel the need to share this event with. This person
will most likely be trusted and respected by the storyteller and listen to/believe everything they say.
This is lead to rumors and soon becoming a prejudice because there might be multiple acting this
certain way. Although it does very frequently, this should not lead people to jump to conclusions
about a general group. This soon leads to

The Search for America in Rip Van Winkle and The Legend...
The Search for America in Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
In the early to mid 1800 s, Washington Irving was an immensely popular writer heralded as one of
the great American writers. Irving s importance lies especially in Rip Van Winkle and The Legend
of Sleepy Hollow, the sketches in which he creates the vision of the alternate America(n). His
critique of American society through his main characters Rip and Ichabod and the towns in which
they live gives shape to an America not usually acknowledged by his contemporaries, and thus
crucial to American literary studies today. J. Hector St. JohnDe Crevecoeur, who created the most

In this light Crevecoeur, rather than belittling America, gives America a special importance.
Although Americans have European influences at their core, they will do more than simply act on
those European traits in a new setting. Rather, they will bring different traits from every aspect of
Europe to create [. . .] the most perfect society now existing in the world (642). While it could be
argued that Irving does just that in creating his stories, the stories themselves are a far cry from
calling America the most perfect society on earth..
By Crevecoeur s definition, the creation of Irving s work was very American. He wrote roughly
forty five short stories, and No less than a third are traceable [. . .] to German sources
(Pochmann, 1186 7). Among this third are Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,
which both draw heavily from German sources especially Musaeus Volksmarchen (Hoffman, 347
8). What Irving did, though, was to take the myths of Europe and create uniquely American
stories. But while the creation of the stories seems to fit Crevecoeur s mold of what American is,
the message in Irving s sketches far from endorses this notion of America as the perfect society
assimilating all of the good of Europe. For this to occur, America would have to assimilate
European ideas and ideas. Irving seems to take exception to this.

This paper should not only be of interest to P2P designers, but also to engineers at upper and lower
tier ISPs, who are interested in acquiring a thorough understanding of
P2P overlays and traВ±c. Because P2P ВЇle sharing systems can generate vast quantities of traВ±c,
networking engineers, who dimension the network and introduce content distribution devices such
as caches, need a basic understanding of how major P2P ВЇle sharing systems operate. Although
there has been recent work in analyzing the ВЇle sharing workload in KaZaA [8] and [18], to our
knowledge we are the ВЇrst to undertake a comprehensive study of a hierarchical unstructured

The paper focuses on the KaZaA overlay network and index management. It ad dresses neither
KaZaA s downloading protocol (for example, KaZaA s parallel down loading and request queuing)
nor its incentive scheme for encouraging uploading. The paper is complementary to [8] and [18],
which focus on KaZaA ВЇle sharing traВ±c. It is also complementary to a recent measurement

This paper is organized as follows. Section 2 provides an overview of KaZaA.

organisms such as humans differs. He uses the terms heterogeneous and homogeneous when trying
to determine evolution in humans and savages. Spencer identifies that humans have evolved from
an organism to what we are today. He uses examples like social evolutionto justify his answer as
the civilization as a whole has changed. This example justifies the evolution from savages to
humans. Why does Spencer use geological examples to come compare humans and savages as
being different?
In the reading, On the Relation of Man to the Lower Animals by Thomas Henry Huxley tries to
figure out the working functions of the brain. He compares the human brain

Hinduism The question of origin In order for us to completely understand Hinduism, we must first
understand that this a philosophical system of beliefs. To give a definite origin of Hinduism
would be very hard to address because there are no known origins. There are no beginning points
or a name of a founder. Hinduism can be traced all the way back to around 1500 B.C in what we
now call India and has a lot of different beliefs, philosophies and views that contradict each other.
All Hindus believe in one God, a supreme being known as Brahma. Brahma is an entity believed to
live in every single facet of reality and existence throughout the whole universe. Brahma is both
impersonal and unknowable and is often believed to exist in three separate forms: Brahma, the
Creator, Vishnu, the Preserver, and Shiva, the Destroyer. Followers of Hinduism refer to their
religion as tana Dharma, the perennial faith (Hindson Caner, 2008). This is ... Show more content on

Humans are accountable for actions and our lives are a result of our past actions. Humans are no
more important than animals. Many Hindu believe in reincarnation or the rebirth of the soul in a
new body. They may see an animal as someone reincarnated from a different life. When comparing
Hinduism and Christianity, they both believe in love for everyone. They both also control behavior
through either the ten commandments or through the eightfold path. When contrasting the two,
Hindu s worship multiple deities and Christians worship one God. Christians live one life on earth
and when they die they either go to heaven or to hell. Hindus believe that their soul is born as an
animal and by living the right way, they climb the ladder to a higher class throughout many

Case with Coleen Colombo and Colleagues Resisting Mortgage...
Week 5 Case Discussion
Explain if the fight or flight response is evident in this case. * In the case with Coleen Colombo
and colleagues resisting mortgage fraud there is evident of fight or flight present. When our fight
or flight system is activated, we tend to perceive everything in our environment as a possible threat
to our survival. By its very nature, the fight or flight system bypasses our rational mind where our
more well thought out beliefs exist and moves us into attack mode. This state of alert causes us to
perceive almost everything in our world as a possible threat to our survival. As such, we tend to
see everyone and everything as a possible enemy. Like airport security during a terrorist threat, we

If we didn t, we would have no need to communicate: something like extrasensory perception
would take its place. The following anecdote is a reminder of how our thoughts, assumptions
and perceptions shape our own realities. As stated in the reading the head of the maintenance
department explained the reason for inefficiency of the company was due to the lack of
qualified maintenance people in the area. * Cultural barriers exist when we join a group and
wish to remain in it, sooner or later we need to adopt the behavior patterns of the group. These
are the behaviors that the groups accept as signs of belonging. As stated in the reading once an
employee had five breakdown reports, he or she was taken off the machine and given a lower
paying job. Some of the managers don t believe that this is a productive practice but goes along
with it because has become the culture of the company with the previous vice president. *
Interpersonal barriers exist when closeness is the aim of interpersonal contact where there is a
high level of honesty and acceptance of yourself and others. As stated in the reading nobody knew
that Ellen bohn were hired until he showed up at the plant. The security guard didn t even know

Napoleon III s Impact On France And Germany
Napoleon III and Bismarck both had huge impacts on France and Germany respectively. Both
men had great diplomatic skills and strong personalities which lead to all sorts of reforms within
their nation. Both men are known for their leadership skills and for the Franco Prussian war, and
even though the war technically ended by military means, both of their diplomatic skills had major
impacts on the dynamic and outcome of the war. It is unclear to many how the war ended with a
Prussian victory; and this is an attempt to explain what led to the war, and how those factors
resulted into a Prussian victory.
Napoleon III was born on April 20th 1808 as Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte. His father is
Napoleon s younger brother, making him one of Napoleon s nephews. After the imprisonment of
Napoleon after Waterloo in 1815, he and his family were forced into exile by the French
returning monarchy. He was not born as the heir to the Bonaparte claim to the French throne, but
the premature death of Napoleon s only son and the death of his own older brother made him the
apparent heir to claim. He took the claim very seriously, and even attempted multiple coups to
gain power, all of which failed and sentenced to prison. His chance to power came when the last
king of France was forced to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Napoleon III first made agreements with the UK promising UK that France will not attempt to
annex Belgium. This was a lie, and Napoleon sent a secret message to Bismarck indicating to him
that France will not intervene in Prussia s land grabbing , if Prussia did not intervene in France s
goal to annex Belgium and the Western parts of some the South German States. Instead of
accepting these terms, Bismarck showed this to the UK and the different southern German nations.
This resulted in hurting France s relationship with the UK, and increased the Southern German
nations that the threat was Napoleon III, not Bismarck

The Fallibility Of Assumptions In Atonement By Joe Wright
Assumptions are necessary for us to function as humans, if we did not make assumptions we
would have died out as a species long ago. In the film Atonement , author Joe Wright tells the
story of a young Briony, who has chosen to tell such a terrible lie that will forever disconnect her
from her sister, happiness, and herself. This text begs the question of assumptions; why we need to
understand the fallibility of them, why we need to be able to accept the consequences of them, and
why we should not treat them as fact. The topic and overall meaning that this idea holds conveys a
message that resonates with the idea that assumptions are sometimes a major factor in how
individuals go about taking responsibility for themselves. Until an individual... Show more content

Briony at age seventy seven has decided that the final book she will write would be about herself,
the mistakes she has made, the lives she has ruined, and her attempted reconciliation; which
ultimately is all a result of her own childish, forced, and bluntly wrong assumptions. Briony writes
the book atonement with the intent of it being her last novel, and ends up writing a false ending,
which portrays a better ending for Robbie and Cecilia. That addition that she replaces with reality,
indicating the life they could have had if Briony had done things differently; and it is that
replacement in her novel that shows how Briony has taken responsibility for the actions caused by
her assumptions. And by finally accepting responsibility for her actions, she is now enlightened,
and can see how and why the events unfolded the way they did. And therefore, this consequently
leads to the broadening of her fundamental understanding of nearly all perspectives of the events
that took place. Leading her to being aware of the fundamental truth behind the events that not only
took place in her story, but in reality as

The Pros And Cons Of Inclusion For Special Education Essay
In this paper I am going to be talking about the pros and cons of inclusion for Special Education
children. By definition, Inclusion rejects the use of special schools or classrooms to separate
students with disabilities from students without disabilities. Special Education is a topic that is
important, even though people may not realize how important it is for the fact that they don t
understand what goes into Special Educationfor children in schools. Negative beliefs many people
have about individuals with disabilities may often be based on fear, misconceptions, and lack of
knowledge (Wright, 1998). There are many children who have Special Education in schools and
I feel that inclusion is something that parents think about for their children, weather it is positive
or negative thoughts. There is an issue weather inclusion is best for children or if it is hindering
the child s academic performance. I am going to explore if inclusion is better for children with
disabilities or if inclusion is not beneficial for children with disabilities. In my opinion, all
educators should have the knowledge they need when it comes to knowing what is best for these
children and what will truly benefit them throughout there life s. when it comes to Special
Education, there are parents with disabled children as well as non disabled children, who have so
multiple opinions about inclusion. By the end of this essay, I want to know what sincerely is
beneficial for Special Educational children.

In this project, Retaining Wall was designed to serve the purpose of supporting levelled ground.
The site mostly consisted of gravelly sand with 5 10% silt. This served as a backfill material to
the retaining wall. In addition to this, the backfill was filled with crushed boulders covered with
sand serving the levelling purposes.
CE 3.9
In the very beginning of this project, I collected soil samples from site to analyse the backfill
material and to determine the soil properties by conducting different laboratory experiments.
Various tests performed and analysed the back fill as follows:
* Standard compaction test (determined the dry density and optimum moisture content)
* Direct shear Test (evaluated C Г parameters)
* Sand replacement Test (determined the bulk density of soil).
With the laboratory results, I analysed the wall by considering the Rankine s Earth Pressure
theory for different failure conditions like Failure by Sliding, Failure by Overturning, Failure of
soil due to excessive pressure at toe or tension in the heel and Bending failure of stem or base.
Tasks assigned to me and how I accomplished them:
CE 3.10
The tasks I did in this project are analysis, design and execution of construction work. I
considered design of more economic section of retaining wall. For this design I adopted the
LIMIT STATE METHOD, considered all the possible economic iterations in the material of the
wall. I used to prefer M20

The Learning Style Inventory ( Lsi )
This assignment came to life because of the two theorists P. Honey and A. Mumford. They
researched on how to put together a project in order to identify the learning styles. The starting
point of this scheme was supported by the Kolb learning style inventory (LSI). Finally, they came
up with the idea of a questionnaire. They gathered eighty questions together, containing four
different learning stylesalong with characteristics of the person/s that might fit in. The image below
represents the theory along with the learning styles produced. (workpress.com, 2011)
Many people will argue that the theory discussed is `not a psychometric instrument, but a checklist
about how people learn`; furthermore, it could expose the `danger of labelling people as theorists
or pragmatists, when most people exhibit more than one strong preferences (F.Coffield, 2004, p. 28).
Perhaps that every individual from this Planet is different and unique, this is a fact. The same
like being different means that we have diverse ways of perception towards new concepts and
ideas (learning in general). However, we all have similar ways of approaching and understanding,
therefore learning. The two theorists did not necessarily intended to say that certain people have
certain learning styles; conceivably, they just wanted to help people recognize themselves and
other people around them in order to learn and work more efficiently. As we are so unpredictable,
at least to know from where to start (what

Outline Of The Workup Of Cervical Lymphadenopathy
Discuss the workup of cervical lymphadenopathy. How would your recommendations differ for
adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients? Cervical lymphadenopathy is the enlargement or swelling
of the cervical lymph nodes. Cervical lymph nodes are the lymph nodes located at the anterior and
posterior aspect of the neck and under the jaw. A thorough knowledge of the anatomy of the neck
is essential to formulate a differential diagnosis. Cervical lymphadenopathy is not uncommon,
especially in children and therefore differential diagnoses are broad (Lang, Kansy, 2014). The
causes of cervical lymphadenopathy can be infections, autoimmune disorders, or malignancy. What
test would you do first and why? First and foremost, thing to do when a patient comes with
cervical lymphadenopathy is to get a detailed history. The history should include questions such as
the onset of lump; pain on lump; if the lump is unilateral or bilateral and other lumps present
anywhere else in the body; any associated symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of
breath, hemoptysis, night sweats, weight loss, or poor appetite; and any recent foreign travel, upper
respiratory infection or TB exposure. It may be necessary to obtain a detailed sexual, smoking and
drug abuse history. Next step is the physical examination by palpating the nodes to assess the size,
shape, matting and consistency (Mohseni et al., 2014). In addition, check for tenderness, mobility,
erythema and warmth. It is important to

The Reptiles Respiratory Function and Procedure for Surgery
Reptiles are a unique animal for various reasons, but I find one of these unique qualities to be
especially fascinating. That is the respiratory system and how the reptile s spontaneous ventilation
rate is directly related to temperature and partial pressure of oxygen, whereas the mammal s
respiration is strictly related and driven by carbon dioxide. In veterinary medicine this is something
that comes up when it comes time to use anesthesia on a reptile for a surgical or other procedure in
which they will need to be anesthetized. Inhalants are somewhat of a contradiction as the lizard can

for gas exchange, really made me realize the combination of the two. I hope to one day do some

The Concept Of Reliability Within Measurement
The concept of reliability within measurement is often debated amongst health professionals, as it
is crucial to the recording of physiological improvements in active and passive range of motion
(ROM). In particular, different techniques such as observation, goniometry and inclinometry are
utilised in clinical settings to determine the ROM for elbow extension. It is noted that, reliable
methods are fundamental for providing quantitative relationships and an understanding of
musculoskeletal impairments.
Often overlooked, reliability is essential for the recognition and consequently the diagnosis of
abnormal elbow extension within physiotherapy. In particular, the diagnosis of impairments and
diseases such as septic arthritis, ulnar nerve entrapment, (Philippou, Maridaki Bogdanis, 2003)
osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (Bucala, 2011) affect a patient s elbow extension. Thus,
measurement methods during diagnosis must be accurate and reliable. In regards to patient
progress, the effectiveness of treatments can be recorded quantitatively with measurement. Thus, it
follows that a lack in reliability would dramatically compromise the integrity of elbow extension
measurements. It is argued that all measurements must be reliable to ensure accuracy and the best
possible care for patients.
Considered a worldwide detriment, particularly in the elderly, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
are some of the most common reasons for seeking treatment with a musculoskeletal

  • 6. Interview With Blanchefort Djimsa To learn from another that is not like you, that is from another country, gives you the opportunity to acquire knowledge that opens your eyes and lets you better understand the world around you. That can definitely be said after conducting my interview for the Cross Cultural Interaction Report. I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Blanchefort Djimsa, a Food Science major, who is from the country of Chadwhich is located in Central Africa. Blanchefort is from the city of Moundou, the third largest city, which is in the South of Chad. Here on scholarship, he is attending Oklahoma State University to further his education. Blanchefort told me about his country and gave me a different perspective about Chad. From the Saharan desert in the North, to the savannah plains in the central region, to the more fertile soil and rivers that feed into Lake Chad in the Southwest, Chad is the fifth largest country in Africa. According to the World Fact Book the country is comparatively slightly 3 times the size of California . With two seasons, the rainy season from late April to September (depending on the length of the rainy season which can vary), and the summer season for the rest of the year, Chad is home to around 11.5 million people. With a growing population the country has mostly a younger generation. With almost half the population being under 18 years of age. The majority of the population is girls/women. Women also have a higher life expectancy then men living to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Contents of the Tomb and What They Suggest About Life in Ancient Egypt at the Time of Tutankamun Archaeological evidence from the tomb of Tutankhamun provides substantial information about life Kingdom Egypt in the eighteenth dynasty. From the archaeological evidence gained from the tombs conclusions can be drawn about religion and the afterlife, the everyday life of ancient Egyptians, of Government during the five hundred year period, and of the arts and sciences of the time. The tomb paintings reveal the nature of the Egyptian belief concerning the afterlife, and objects such as the golden burial mask, the miniature effigy of the king, the canopic shrine and miscellaneous pieces of furniture... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea that the in order to reach immortality, one must go through a journey, as symbolised by a journey on a celestial boat through the heavens is another indication of their religious beliefs. The portrait head of Tutankhamun rising out of a blue lotus flower, reflects the Egyptian belief that life grew out of a primeval mound, as a result of observing the annual flooding of the Nile. This creation myth is at the heart of many of their religious myths. The golden burial mask, sheds light on the Egyptian belief in the afterlife, as one which in its initial stage as being dangerous because the presence of the cobras (ureus) is there to spit venom into anyone who might harm the king. The ornate quality of this mask reflects a deeply seated notion of the afterlife. The fact that the mask is supposed to protect the body reflects the Egyptian belief in the afterlife where bodies need to be preserved in order to unify the physical components of the body with its ka. The ankh, which Tutankhamun holds, and the presence of the god Khephri is a reflection of the belief that death is a rebirth into the next world. The wooden miniature effigy of the king, placed in tombs as a substitute for the deceased in case the god Osiris orders him to perform manual labour in the next life is indicative of a very strong belief in the afterlife. The presence of the canopic shrine, protected by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Joel Feinberg Psychological Egoism Analysis Psychological egoism is the interpretation that humans are always inspired by self interest, even in what seem to be acts of altruism. It claims that, when people choose to help others, they do so ultimately because of the personal benefits that they themselves expect to obtain, directly or indirectly, from doing so. Psychological egoism, which was widely recognized by psychologists and philosophers states that all human actions are motivated by selfish needs to benefit themselves. According to psychological egoists true altruismdoes not exist because the consequence of such an act leads to an increase in personal happiness. However, Joel Feinberg does not agree with that theory and in his essay he disagreed with the thesis that altruism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He would have explained to me that even though some philosopher could argue that all of our acts are considered as selfish since the main source of our action is us therefore it does make sense that our only motif is to obtain pleasure for ourselves. As mentioned in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Psychological egoists cannot establish their view simply by pointing to the pleasure or self benefit that accompanies so many actions. After all, often self benefit only seems to be what we ultimately desire, though a closer look reveals benefits like pleasure are likely just byproducts while the proximate desire is for that which generates them ( Psychological Egoism). Joel Feinberg would explain that the acts that are generated to help others even though we can receive pleasure for acting such way could be and should be considered as an altruistic act. Pleasure can be a byproduct of a good deed but what matters is what generated the good deed and if it s for a good reason and to help others it should be considered as an altruistic ... Keywords Photovoltaic (PV), Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Parallel power processing (PPP),Power Plane Analysis(PPA), Direct energy Transfer(DET). INTRODUCTION In recent years, Energy comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat. These resources are renewable. Therefore, for all practical purposes, these resources can be considered to be unlimited, unlike dwindling conventional fossil fuels. The renewable energy sources are known to be much cleaner and produce energy without the harmful effects of pollution unlike their conventional counterparts. Solar energy is converted into electrical energy and the electrical power generation in PV systems is highly affected by the temperature and the insolation level which makes it impractical to directly connect them to the load without any storage devices or utility grid interface. The PV systems focused on the minimization of the installation costs and the maximization of the energy capture and conversion efficiency. In order to maximize the conversion efficiency, the PV system should be operated at its maximum power point (MPP). This power is supplied to the load using parallel power processing topology to reduce the amount of power processed through the converter and, hence, decrease the converter size and increase the efficiency by means of direct energy transfer (DET).The concept of the PPP topology is shown in Figure. ... • 10. Tropical Rainforest Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climates, and lots of rain. Rainforests are typically found near the earth s equator. They receive anywhere from 60 to 160 inches of precipitation that is normally distributed evenly throughout the year. Since there is a lot of rainfall and heat, it is very humid in those areas. Humidity , however, is not a bad thing in that area. The plants and animals in the tropical rainforestsurvive due to rainfall and humidity helping plants thrive and providing food for animals. In fact climate is such an important part of the rainforest that many species are currently experiencing novel conditions because of habitat fragmentation and climate change (Low Potential for Climate). This means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is the South American three toed sloth. This animal has fur covered with green algae, which is perfect camouflage in the forest canopy. Other animals use camouflage to hide to wait for their prey. One such predator is the Boa Constrictor. The Boa Constrictor s uniquely patterned body allows it to camouflage itself. It s an interesting technique. They have natural habits of camouflaging themselves. One adaptation quite the opposite of camouflage is that of the brightly colored poison arrow frogs and poison dart frogs. The bright colors of these species serve as a warning to predators not to eat them. These frogs are so poisonous that natives wipe their arrow heads on them to make them more lethal. The creatures and woodland are fed and nurtured by the trees in their environment. When it rains, the rain knocks all the insects (food for other animals) out of the air and ends up on the ground for the animals to then be fed. The woodland and shrubbery are fed by the rain and humidity in the sky. Tropical rainforests provide a nearly constant supply of water and a wide variety of food for the animals. There is still a lot to be discovered about the tropical rainforests. However, the woodland and creatures still thrive because their environment and even the world provide their lively ... I m about to enter my junior year at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and I don t really have any idea what I want to do once I graduate from college. I recently read Things A Little Bird Told Me and I really related to your story (minus the part, where you co founded one of the world s most popular web tools). 1.Opportunity can totally be manufactured: I have learned this opportunity at numerous points in my life, however, the opportunity that stands out the most for me is when I got the New York Times (NYT) to give me a blog on their website. Every year, the NYT used to select 8 students from around the world to blog for them during their college search. I read this blog series for a number of years and when I became a high school senior, I decided that I wanted to try to be one of the students selected. However, I realized that the NYT would never reach out to my small underfunded NYC public school so I reached out to them. The night before the interview I learned a slew of technical terms like Java, Python, Syntax Error etc. and read an online article on interviews. The article said that according to a study you were more likely to get a job if you mention the interviewer s name at least three times. • 12. Chihiro s Response To Sociology Perhaps the most obvious example of change as a positive influence in the film can be observed in Chihiro s maturation. Prior to entering the spirit realm, Chihiro behaves as a typical, stubborn child unwilling to accept change; this can be observed in the way she responds to seeing her new school as she and her parents drive into town: sticking out her tongue as she says, It s gonna stink. I liked my old school. During the same scene, Chihiro s responses to her parents even slightly suggest that she is a bit spoiled as she complains how depressing it is that this is the first time she has gotten a bouquet of flowers and it s a goodbye present. Us watchmen have been through nuclear war, murder, and ice cold twists and turns. I feel like our story could be influential to anyone s life. Through Alan Moore s exquisite writing and plot twists he encompasses identity, real world problems, and nonВsuperhero like storytelling. Identity is one reason why Alan Moore s Watchmenis one of the most influential books of all time. Each character in this novel has their own identity and viewpoint of the world. The most amazing example of this is Rorschach. He is my favorite character in this book simply because his viewpoint on the world is to lookout for himself and what he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that this takes place in USA late 1900s makes this book more relatable. Also this novel has problems such as love, hatred, and violent crime. These real world problems are what makes this novel even relatable. There is nothing like seeing superheros go through the same struggles we go through daily. Finally, another reason why this book is very influential is that even though it is a novel about superheroes it does not follow how, normally, a superhero story would be told. For example, in Superman comics, the clear villain is Lex Luthor and the clear hero is none other than Superman. However in Watchmen Adrian Veidt was thought to be a superhero for most of the novel until it was revealed that he was actually a villain. Also, the watchmen are supposed to be heroes yet most of them come from terrible or violent backgrounds. This makes this novel that much more riveting. Where everything is taken to the most extreme levels and assumed to be hate speech or that it of course must be meant in the worst possible way. There are of course times where people do take things too far and mean them in the worst of ways. Although, that is not what this is about. This is about the destruction of free speech to the extent of teaching people to might as well not have free thinking. In South America he observed the adaptations of organisms to a variety of habitat from jungle to grassland to mountain habitats. In the temperate regions the species resembled more closely the species of the tropical regions of South America rather than the corresponding speciesof the temperate regions of Europe. For example, in the grasslands of Argentina there are no rabbits, however, there are rodents that resemble rabbits; these rodents are unrelated to European rabbits but are similar to other rodents in South America. Cuvier founded the science of paleontology and described the differences between the fossil flora and fauna in different strata of rock: he observed that the more recent strata had fossils that more closely resembled extant organisms. Cuvier believed that the discontinuities between fossils in different strata were brought about by catastrophes such as floods which caused the extinction of many species living at a particular time. This interpretation of earth s history is termed catastrophism and was also held by many contemporary geologists. By contrast, Hutton and subsequently Lyell held that geological processes are slow and subtle but that over prolonged periods of time (millions of years) these can lead to major changes; implicit in this viewpoint is an age for the earth radically different from the 6,000 years of the biblical creationists. Other key influences on Darwin were Malthus who had concluded that war and famine were inevitable as the human population grew more rapidly than available resources, and Lamarck who had proposed a theory of evolution based on a continuous process of gradual modification due to acquired characteristics. Both Darwin and Wallace brought together a multitude of facts including the geographical distribution of organisms, comparative morphology of living organisms and their fossil precursors. Like both McAdam and Costain, I believe that the political process model is a much more appropriate theory for social movements than either the classical model (with its emphasis on psychology) or the resource mobilization model (with its ultra capitalistic approach to all socio political interactions). Costain argues that movements only emerge when the federal government becomes more favorable and supportive towards the members and goals of the movement. Thus, according to Costain, the mild support of the government was instrumental in the psychological preparation of the movement s members; a favorable government encouraged women to realize that there was a possible political solution to their discontent. In this way, at the base of every successful social movement, Costain establishes a prerequisite of an increasingly favorable government (that spurs the psychological state necessary for a large scale social movement). Thus, the government indirectly influences the formation of the social movement, and the social movement then pressures its (oftentimes reluctant) supporter to pass legislative or protective action. In Costain s model, the government is the key figure in both the formation and the success of the social movement. While the government clearly plays an important role in almost every stage of the formation and proliferation of a social movement, I do not think that it is nearly so crucial to the birth of social movements. Indeed, I find Costain s emphasis on government a sort of regression to the earlier elitist theories concerning the resources necessary for the success of a social movement. In the face of decolonization in the 1960s, many formerly colonized nations subscribed to two separate economic models: Import Substituting Industrialization (ISI) or Export Oriented Industrialization (EOI). Two of the disabilities that were apparent to me while reading these books were the alcoholism of Dave s parents and Dave s developmental issues. Application of Developmental Theories Families are systems in which each individual has a unique relationship with the other individuals in the family. Dave s place in his family was, indeed, unique. The subsystem consisting of Dave and his mother had a foundation in the boundaries set by the mother. Dave s role in the family was, essentially, that he was not a part of the family. Not only that, Dave s identity was stripped away by his mother. At the onset of the abuse, she began referring to him as the boy. As the situation worsened, she referred to him as It , hence the title of the first book in this series. At the time of Dave s rescue, he exhibited two of the four behavioral indicators of abuse that were established in 1979 by the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Aerosols Of Rain Case Study Nature of Aerosols Effect on Cloud Cover and Precipitation over Central Gangetic Plain during 2012 2015 Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall: A Case Study by using Satellite observations Abstract: The effect of aerosol on cloud cover and precipitation is one of the hot topics in the current environmental scenario, especially during the drought conditions. The study presents the qualitative assessment of microphysical and radiative effects of aerosols on cloud cover during the Indian summer monsoon rainfall (ISMR) months of 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 over the highly polluted central gangetic plain by using the Absorption Fraction Feedback (the AFF) model. The results from the ancillary data analysis were also in agreement with results of the AFF model. Introduction Aerosols are one of the key factors responsible for the climate change and influencing the radiation budget of the earth. Columnar Aerosol loading (amount in the atmosphere) is usually quantified by mass concentration (PM Particulate Matter) or by an optical measure (AOD Aerosol Optical Depth). The effects of aerosols on atmosphere are mainly categorized into four types (Lau et al., 2008). They are 1) aerosol direct effects, 2) aerosol Semi direct effects, 3) first Indirect effects and 4) the second Indirect effects. Direct effect of aerosols is the manifestation of dimming of solar radiation by aerosols due to scattering and absorption. Due to blockage of incoming radiations, the temperature in the lower levels of the atmosphere decreases and therefore, the convection process is weakened which results in a thermodynamically stabilized atmosphere layer. This in turn, reduces the humidity in the lower layers delaying the cloud formation (semi direct effect). The first indirect effect, which is also called Twomey Effect, explains the aerosol and cloud interactions at microphysical scale (Twomey, 1977). The changes in aerosol concentrations (aerosols act as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN)) can also alter the cloud albedo and reflectivity. The second indirect effect deals with the ... • 35. A Seminar Essay Socratic Seminar Essay There has been a drastic change in the way we perceive the world and this can alter the way we see each other. We tend to jump onto a bandwagon because it seems easiest or because of one personal scenario. This is one of the main causes for prejudice and injustice. How a person reacts to being oppressed may bring out another side of them, but this side is their true self. This reaction speaks of his or her morals, ethics, and values. To these people, all the perpetrators appear the same, but it is known that while some may easily go along with it, some may choose to stand above it all. The concepts referenced to earlier will be soon elaborated on in further analysis as this essay goes on. It is human nature to assume certain ideas about certain people and it is also human nature to love and trust wholeheartedly. These two aspects of our species collide when the terms prejudice and injustice are involved. If one person had a certain relationship with someone different than themselves in some way, they will most likely come in contact with someone who they feel the need to share this event with. This person will most likely be trusted and respected by the storyteller and listen to/believe everything they say. This is lead to rumors and soon becoming a prejudice because there might be multiple acting this certain way. The Search for America in Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow In the early to mid 1800 s, Washington Irving was an immensely popular writer heralded as one of the great American writers. Irving s importance lies especially in Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the sketches in which he creates the vision of the alternate America(n). His critique of American society through his main characters Rip and Ichabod and the towns in which they live gives shape to an America not usually acknowledged by his contemporaries, and thus crucial to American literary studies today. In this light Crevecoeur, rather than belittling America, gives America a special importance. Although Americans have European influences at their core, they will do more than simply act on those European traits in a new setting. Rather, they will bring different traits from every aspect of Europe to create [. . .] the most perfect society now existing in the world (642). While it could be argued that Irving does just that in creating his stories, the stories themselves are a far cry from calling America the most perfect society on earth.. By Crevecoeur s definition, the creation of Irving s work was very American. He wrote roughly forty five short stories, and No less than a third are traceable [. . .] to German sources (Pochmann, 1186 7). Among this third are Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which both draw heavily from German sources especially Musaeus Volksmarchen (Hoffman, 347 8). What Irving did, though, was to take the myths of Europe and create uniquely American stories. But while the creation of the stories seems to fit Crevecoeur s mold of what American is, the message in Irving s sketches far from endorses this notion of America as the perfect society assimilating all of the good of Europe. For this to occur, America would have to assimilate European ideas and ideas. Irving seems to take exception to this. II. The Melting Pot For Crevecoeur, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both men had great diplomatic skills and strong personalities which lead to all sorts of reforms within their nation. By definition, Inclusion rejects the use of special schools or classrooms to separate students with disabilities from students without disabilities. Special Education is a topic that is important, even though people may not realize how important it is for the fact that they don t understand what goes into Special Educationfor children in schools. Negative beliefs many people have about individuals with disabilities may often be based on fear, misconceptions, and lack of knowledge (Wright, 1998). There is an issue weather inclusion is best for children or if it is hindering the child s academic performance. • 54. The Learning Style Inventory ( Lsi ) This assignment came to life because of the two theorists P. Honey and A. Mumford. They researched on how to put together a project in order to identify the learning styles. The starting point of this scheme was supported by the Kolb learning style inventory (LSI). Finally, they came up with the idea of a questionnaire. They gathered eighty questions together, containing four different learning stylesalong with characteristics of the person/s that might fit in. The image below represents the theory along with the learning styles produced. (workpress.com, 2011) Many people will argue that the theory discussed is `not a psychometric instrument, but a checklist about how people learn`; furthermore, it could expose the `danger of labelling people as theorists or pragmatists, when most people exhibit more than one strong preferences (F.Coffield, 2004, p. 28). Perhaps that every individual from this Planet is different and unique, this is a fact. The same like being different means that we have diverse ways of perception towards new concepts and ideas (learning in general). However, we all have similar ways of approaching and understanding, therefore learning. The two theorists did not necessarily intended to say that certain people have certain learning styles; conceivably, they just wanted to help people recognize themselves and other people around them in order to learn and work more efficiently. • 55. Outline Of The Workup Of Cervical Lymphadenopathy Discuss the workup of cervical lymphadenopathy. How would your recommendations differ for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients? Cervical lymphadenopathy is the enlargement or swelling of the cervical lymph nodes. Cervical lymph nodes are the lymph nodes located at the anterior and posterior aspect of the neck and under the jaw. A thorough knowledge of the anatomy of the neck is essential to formulate a differential diagnosis. Cervical lymphadenopathy is not uncommon, especially in children and therefore differential diagnoses are broad (Lang, Kansy, 2014). The causes of cervical lymphadenopathy can be infections, autoimmune disorders, or malignancy. What test would you do first and why? First and foremost, thing to do when a patient comes with cervical lymphadenopathy is to get a detailed history. The history should include questions such as the onset of lump; pain on lump; if the lump is unilateral or bilateral and other lumps present anywhere else in the body; any associated symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, hemoptysis, night sweats, weight loss, or poor appetite; and any recent foreign travel, upper respiratory infection or TB exposure. It may be necessary to obtain a detailed sexual, smoking and drug abuse history. Next step is the physical examination by palpating the nodes to assess the size, shape, matting and consistency (Mohseni et al., 2014). In addition, check for tenderness, mobility, erythema and warmth. It is important to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reptiles Research Paper Vett 2 Physiology Paper 4/2/16 The Reptiles Respiratory Function and Procedure for Surgery Reptiles are a unique animal for various reasons, but I find one of these unique qualities to be especially fascinating. That is the respiratory system and how the reptile s spontaneous ventilation rate is directly related to temperature and partial pressure of oxygen, whereas the mammal s respiration is strictly related and driven by carbon dioxide. In veterinary medicine this is something that comes up when it comes time to use anesthesia on a reptile for a surgical or other procedure in which they will need to be anesthetized. Inhalants are somewhat of a contradiction as the lizard can hold its breath for long periods of time during the induction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I find it so interesting that the lizard almost has a combination of the mammalian and the avian respiratory system. The lack of a diaphragm as well as the fact that there are two species of lizards that use the exact same respiratory physiology as the avian species show me the relation to them. Then the fact that most of the other lizards use two bronchi and basic alveoli structures for gas exchange, really made me realize the combination of the two. I hope to one day do some work with the lizard under anesthesia and help with the ventilation, as I find this to be interesting and really feel I have gotten a grasp on their ... • 57. The Concept Of Reliability Within Measurement The concept of reliability within measurement is often debated amongst health professionals, as it is crucial to the recording of physiological improvements in active and passive range of motion (ROM). In particular, different techniques such as observation, goniometry and inclinometry are utilised in clinical settings to determine the ROM for elbow extension. It is noted that, reliable methods are fundamental for providing quantitative relationships and an understanding of musculoskeletal impairments. Often overlooked, reliability is essential for the recognition and consequently the diagnosis of abnormal elbow extension within physiotherapy. In particular, the diagnosis of impairments and diseases such as septic arthritis, ulnar nerve entrapment, (Philippou, Maridaki Bogdanis, 2003) osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (Bucala, 2011) affect a patient s elbow extension. Thus, measurement methods during diagnosis must be accurate and reliable. In regards to patient progress, the effectiveness of treatments can be recorded quantitatively with measurement. Thus, it follows that a lack in reliability would dramatically compromise the integrity of elbow extension measurements. It is argued that all measurements must be reliable to ensure accuracy and the best possible care for patients. Considered a worldwide detriment, particularly in the elderly, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are some of the most common reasons for seeking treatment with a musculoskeletal ...
