The On The Soil Lacks For Life On Mars Essay
The soil lacks in nutrients. Therefore, greenhouses would have to be built and constructed in a way
that the plants can adapt to the environment in almost a similar way to Earth. This would allow the
plants to grow on Mars and over some time, create food for life on Mars. To have this greenhouse on
Mars it would help grow plants for food, recycling and for replenishing the air. The main disadvantage
to easily growing plants on Mars is the low atmospheric pressure that would make the plants act as if
they are quickly drying out and dying. To get around this issue on Mars, we would have to be able to
control the air pressure in the greenhouse. Scientists have stated that A hydroponics system allows the
plants to grow without soil, while artificial light ensures the plants are able to grow efficiently .
The food planted needs to have enough nutrients in its roots to be able to grow and have enough
nutrients for humans to survive. For human survival, we would have to plant enough plants for some
to be used as creating oxygen in the atmosphere and the edible portion to our nutrition. This would
keep us healthy on Mars and be able to survive. Surprisingly enough, the Martian soil contains
nutrients that is even more nourished than some of Earth s soils. This means that the soil doesn t lack
any nutrients to grow food, it is the excessive volume of Perchlorate chemicals which would cause
adverse effects on a human s health. On Mars, as the plant grows, it starts to absorb the

Sickle Cell Disease And Its Effects
Sickle Cell Disease Sickle cell disease affects approximately 100,000 Americans and millions across
the globe (Sobota, 2015). The three most common types of sickle cell disease are Hb SS (sickle cell
anemia), Hb SC, and Hb S beta thalassemia, with Hb SS being the most common type (Harris, 2001).
Sickle cell disease occurs in individuals who inherit the mutated hemoglobin gene, from one or both
of their parents. The mutated hemoglobin, known as Hb S, crystalizes and join together into many
small cords, which form chains that look like twisted wires (Harris, 2001, p. 20). Stretched to contain
the Hb S crystals, the red blood cells take on spike and sickle shapes; this is how the name for the
disease came about (Harris, 2001). Deformed, the sickled cells have a hard time moving through the
blood stream and can eventually pile up in the blood vessels, having life threatening consequences.
Although oxygen can reverse the sickling process in cells, turning Hb S back into a liquid, after a few
sicklings the red blood cells membrane is permanently damaged and the cell will remain sickled. The
History of Sickle Cell Disease American physician James Herrick was the first to describe sickle cell
disease. In 1910, Herrick observed peculiar elongated and sickle shaped red blood corpuscles in the
blood film of a West Indian student suffering from leg ulcers, shortness of breath, and jaundice
(Chakravorty Williams, 2015, p. 48). In 1922, three more similar case were observed and

Comparison Between Hard Rock And Postmodernism
Sociology Nate McDonald
Between a Hard Rock and Postmodernism 9/17/12
I. What is the sociological question?
What are the features of postmodern spaces? II. What is the analytical approach?
Borchard s approach at the opening of the Hard Rock was a participant observation approach.
Borchard wanted to get into the Hard Rock Café the opening night is Las Vegas because he wanted to
part of the concert, and the once in a lifetime experience like everyone else in line. The line expanded
around the 75ft spectacle of the Gibson guitar. Like everyone else, Borchard wanted to be a part of the
grand opening to the most iconic and well known Rock and Roll hot spot now known. Borchard was
looking to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world is depending less and less on the individual and wants people to be more like society to fit
in and be how the bigger picture sees it, they want people to be seen as the famous people are and
rebel or look a certain way. If a normal man tried to get into the Hard Rock concert (like the blonde
man s friend) they were denied because their look wasn t right for the concert and wouldn t be
acceptable. Another man that Borchard talked to showed a way that society changed. It s called a
microwave relationship and that was when the man just opened up and told Borchard his entire life
story and he has never met the man before in his life. The man talked about his whole crappy life to
Borchard but he didn t care, he wasn t interested but this proved another point of his. In the
postmodern world people are becoming more and more open with complete strangers. In result the
things in the world weren t lasting people couldn t keep secrets people just rambled on about anything
and everything from their own lives even to others, and didn t think twice about it. The new
postmodern world was departing from morals and individual expectations to gossip and looks. People
now want to know and are willing to tell, people are not individuals but seem to stray towards the
actions of those who society now says we should act like. The things in the world are

The Responsibility Of Protecting ´
The ´Responsibility to Protect´ (R2P) concept first came about in a 2001 report from the International
Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty (ICISS), which was set up after, then Secretary
General, Kofi Annan, said there needed to be some a change in the United Nations charter regarding
military forces in humanitarian interventions. This came following the criticism of the NATO
intervention in Kosovo in 1999. The report further evolved into the concept that was approved in the
UN s General Assembly in 2005 (Evans 2014; Zyberi and Mason n.d. 2013: 7, 513). In 2009 the UN
confirmed a continued endorsement of R2P under the formula of three pillars and four crimes (Zyberi
and Mason n.d. 2013: 10). The main issue with R2P has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The review will then conclude with an article from Evans, who goes over the use of R2P through the
years, where it stands today and compares the situations in Libya and Syria.
Even though R2P has been accepted in the UN General Assembly and is widely used in the literature
of humanitarian issues, Zyberi and Mason point out that R2P is not a binding norm of international
law although it does have a clear legal dimension to it. R2P is rather seen an international social,
political and moral norm and even though it doesn t prohibit unilateral humanitarian intervention it
does not grant States a legal right to intervene (2013: 13 14). According to Zyberi and Mason s
analyses of the State responsibility in the context of R2P, they find it to have several different
meanings and vary according to which perspective it s looked at from as the State and policies are
influenced differently and the scope of obligations is different for a State s individual and collective
responsibility (2013: 32 33). The political framework of R2P is therefore based on fundamental
principles of international law and epitomises the humanitarian character of those laws that have been
put in place to protect people in the world and their right to peace. The institutional efforts, however,
to operationalise R2P differ considerably from one organisation to another (2013: 511 512). Zyberi
and Mason say that along with the problem of different understanding

The Strike of the Eastover Mine Workers in the Movie,...
The Academy Award winning movie Harlan County USA is an emotional depiction of the events that
surrounded the strike of the Eastover Mine workers in 1973. Barbara Kopple directs a moving film
and gives an up close in depth look into the struggle for a livable wage, healthcare that covers the
ailments that arise from mine work and safer working conditions. While all of these were issues raised
by the striking workers; they were also striking for respect as human beings, an upgrade to the only
way of life they knew, and hope for their future. Most men understood that their family s destiny was
deeply rooted in coal and since leaving was unlikely, they would be best served by allowing the
United Mine Workers of America (UMW) to represent them instead of the company friendly Southern
Labor Union (SLU). Which side are you on is a song written to explain that the issue is as simple as
black or white, left or right and right or wrong. There is no doubt which side the film is created from
and the position is justified. Kopple makes no apology for the one sidedness of her documentary.
Kopple said We re pro union, this is a story about the union, and this is the way it is from our point of
view. The grievances of the miners were just and needed to be addressed. She does an excellent job of
creating sympathy and empathy for the deserving strikers and their families. To understand why the
miners decided to strike is to understand Appalachia. A young boy growing up in Harlan

1.5. Pre Bid Meeting The Following information is TBD
Pre bid meetings can be held after the RFP s are issued and prior to the bid due date. Pre bid meetings
may be referred to with other titles in RFP s such as a pre proposal conference in government RFP s. If
an owner intends to have a pre bid meeting, the Instructions provide the location, date, and time of the
meeting. The Instructions may also describe the purpose of the meeting and how answers to questions
from bidders will be handled. The answers to the questions from bidders are normally handled in a
formal manner since they are a supplement to the information provided in the RFP.
1.6. Owner Contact for Questions
It is important that an owner designate one individual to act as the contact person for questions from
bidders during the bid period. This organizational approach assures that questions are handled in a
consistent manner and that all bidders receive the same answers to questions. The answers to
individual questions from bidders during the bid period that are not responded to at a pre bid meeting
are also important supplemental information to the original RFP. The procurement group
representative assigned to a contract is often the designated contact person for an owner. The

Piecing It All Together By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Kyle McKeehan Ms. Davis English IV 20 February 2015 Piecing It All Together Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle, a failing physician, created an iconic fictional detective named Sherlock Holmes in 1887 with
the novel A Study in Scarlet. Sherlock Holmes is one of the most well known literary characters of all
time and that is why even until this day the character has kept our attention in pop culture and
entertainment. Holmes was praised for his attention to detail when in fact he may have had Aspergers
and in the novel The Hound of the Baskervilles there are plenty examples of his unparalleled wit as
well as his state of the art methods. Doyle was born on May 22, 1859 to his parents Charles Altamont
Doyle and Mary Foley Doyle. They lived in Edinburgh, Scotland after moving from London in hopes
of furthering Charles career and were a strict Irish Catholic family. His father, Charles, was an
architect, but he became a depressed alcoholic for most of his life and was institutionalized multiple
times while Doyle was a child. His mother, Mary, being the only stable parent he had became a huge
part of his life. She was well educated for the time and would read to Arthur all the time. His favorite
books to read as a child were wild west themed novels and his favorite was The Scalp Hunters written
by Thomas Mayne Reid in 1851. When he was nine his parents sent him to a England to attend a
Jesuit prep school in Stonyhurst. He attended that school from 1868 to 1870 during which he did not

The General Strain Theory, And General Integrated Theory
This final theory is an extension of Hirschi s (1979) original idea of micro and macro dimensions
which are called cross level or multilevel integrations (Barak, 2002). The general strain theory is also
known as cross level or multilevel integrations including the reintegrative shaming theory, power
control theory, control balance theory and general integrated theory (Barak, 2002). These theories
combine theories like social bonding and social learning theories with structural theories such as
social disorganization and strain theories but does not address macro level factors that influence crime,
and instead focus solely on criminal behavior at the micro level. So far, very little theories suggested
have encompassed all levels of explaining criminology (Barak, 2002). This is a social structure macro
model which states that differential opportunities are not only crime class specific, but also are
accompanied by motivations for both crime and punishment. The introduction of an integrative theory
that analyzes the traits of locations and the people in the locations, rather than the people themselves.
It claims that deviant behavior is more prevalent in areas that are poorer (Barak, 2002). Life has many
daily strains and most do not lead to criminality but the greater the negative reaction, the higher the
probability for criminality. Also, a negative reaction perpetuates further negative reactions which leads
to a higher probability of criminal activities,

Arguments In Dealing With Dragons
While reading the novel, Dealing with Dragons , by Patricia C. Wrede, one could ask if someone like
Cimorene, a princess in the story, should be justified if they go against what expectations are made of
them and why that should ever be approved of. However, Cimorene was completely justified in
ignoring the social norms of her day because it is very clear that she was never content with being a
princess in that kingdom, she was only truly happy in living an improper life away from her heredity,
and she is far more intelligent than most men, yet she is still treated like a lesser human being while in
her kingdom that proves to only be keeping her behind from accomplishing great things. In the novel,
Dealing with Dragons , it is made very clear that Cimorene immensely loathes being a princess in the
Kingdom of Linderwall because of the social norms that she is forced to abide by. The author states,
Then what, exactly is your problem? ... This! Cimorene gestured at the castle around her. Embroidery
lessons, and dancing, and and being a princess! . This event occurs when Cimorene fairy godmother
comes to the castle for a visit. Cimorene blatantly states that everything involved in her life is exactly
her problem and because that, one can find that she was justified to run away from a life that she
despises. Furthermore, this shows that Cimorene had a motive to run away from what would be an
inexorable marriage because of her parents and that she never wanted to hurt

Globalization And The Globalization Project
In this paper you will understand the shift of the development to the globalization project. In doing so
you will learn what globalization means as a project and as a process and why it is described as being
in crisis. Next you will learn about the financial and farming dimensions of the problems confronting
the globalization project. With that you will thirdly learn about how global warming presents multiple
challenges to globalization. I will also discuss the emergent sustainability project , with particular
attention to agricultural, green technology and environmental movements. Lastly I will analyze how
terrorism and the emergence of Trumpismo complicates all of this.

The debt crisis transformed the development project into a globalization project. In 1997 Asian
financial crisis, exposed Indonesian military regime in social rebellion against cronyism and neoliberal
austerity, called IMF policies into question. During this crisis the IMF had worsened the finical crisis
because of speculator fear. (Mc Michael 282). In 1997 Asian financial crisis had the government
control half of their industrial assets, and invest in infrastructure. With this the government was not
capable of meeting a number of demands from private economic sector. The free market economy was
opposed to state move to increase the profit of the free market economy and the government took this
step because it was being pressurized by people. The market induced crisis in Argentina reveled the
legitimacy crisis of the globalization project at the same time it exposed ambiguities of sovereignty
(Mc Micheal118). With this the market induced financial crisis, matched a disturbing democracy and
by a regime that surrounded the sovereignty in its financial policy, and citizens responded with forms
of direct democracy with violence. The crisis of globalization is as a manifested in both its material
and failures and resistances. (McMichael 119).
Next is the financial and farming dimensions of the problems confronting the globalization project? In
1955 the Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) advocated universal reductions in trade protections, farm

The Storm by Kate Chopin
The first thing I noticed about Kate Chopin s The Storm, is that it is utterly dripping with sexual
imagery and symbolism. Our heroine, if you will, seems to be a woman with normally restrained
passions and a well defined sense of propriety, who finds herself in a situation that tears down her
restraint and reveals the vixen within. I wonder if it was intentional that the name Calixta makes me
think of Calypso the nymph from Greek mythology. If half of the sexual symbolism I found in this
story was intentional, Chopin was a genius. I was quite taken with the sexual imagery of the colors
mentioned: white, and red. There is also mention a place called Assumption, while there s nothing
written on it in the bible, I believe it s the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s no secret that storms bring a unique energy, something that is almost primal in nature. Animals
react to coming storms because of this energy, I once had a cat who would pounce all over the house
in the hours before a storm arrived, when the storm hit, he would sprint from room to room, his tail
bushed out like a bottle brush and his pupils so large you couldn t see the iris. As the storm builds in
its fervor and ferocity, tension and passion build between Calixta and Alcée to match. It begins with
the gusts of wind that threatened to snatch away the clothing that was outside, hence Alcée grabbing
the trousers, and follows as the water beat in upon the boards in driving sheets, then the rain beat upon
the low, shingled roof with a force and clatter that threatened to break an entrance (Chopin 336). The
language grows more telling in that just after there is mention of something threatening to break an
entrance, Chopin describes Calixta s bedroom. The fact that it adjoins the room they re in is
completely unnecessary, unless there s a reason for the reader to be aware of the bedroom. As the
storm rolls on, Calixta goes to the window where she stands when the lightning bolt strikes a tree in
the field. Lightning is a glorified spark, I believe this symbolizes the spark of passion renewed in both
of our adulterers as the story

Analysis Of The Dinner Table By Judy Chicago
The Dinner Table (1974 1979) by Judy Chicago
1a. While viewing this piece of work, the emotions I feel are powerful and pride. I feel powerful
because I am a woman and here s this piece of art celebrating and embracing all the women who made
a difference and pathed a way for every other woman in this world. When I look at those work of art I
feel as if I can do anything I set my mind too. Many of the women printed on the art didn t have is
easy. They work hard for all their accomplishments and didn t let the men in this world intimidate
them to stop just because they are women. I feel pride because this piece makes me feel happy to be a
woman and that I am special because of that.
1b. The goal of The Dinner Party was to introduce women s heritage and the role they played in
throughout history. Mostly the history of women in Western civilization. Also, the goal was to show
the importance of women in this world. Many things wouldn t be if it weren t for women. At the time
this piece was made, the women s right movement was just beginning, so I believe this was made to
encourage equal rights for women.
1c. Judy Chicago chose to use the form of a triangle because it s the earliest signs for women, an
ancient symbol for the goddess, and the three equal sides represents the equalized world woman try to
create. Michelangelo s Pieta (1498 1499)

The Impact Of Globalization And The Involvement Of...
Introduction
The Sukuma people of northwestern Tanzania, resting on the southern shore of Lake Victoria, have
been greatly impacted by the increasing global markets in the region. While the Sukuma are dispersed
across Tanzania, those that live near Lake Victoria have greatly changed their ways of living because
of the impacts of globalization and the involvement of European countries with fisheries along the
Lake. Many of the Sukuma people work for the fisheries that export extremely high quantities of fish
to other countries, and yet they are barely able to provide for themselves and their families. The city of
Mwanza is made up of predominantly Sukuma people, and their culture here has greatly adapted due
to changes in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This global involvement has created a hostile environment from a beautiful and balanced culture, and
their lack of respect removes their right to have control over the region.
Background and Overview
First, according to Jenkins (1996) culture profile of the Sukuma people, the group has lived in their
current area of Tanzania since 1300 CE. During the first millennium, there were vast migrations of
early Bantu speaking people, and this is likely where the Sukuma culture is rooted from. As of 2005, it
is estimated that there are around 5.5 million Sukuma people, and they are thought to account for up to
90% of the population in the city of Mwanza (Jenkins 1996), which has a population of around 2.8
million. In addition to being the most prominent group of Mwanza, they are also the largest ethnic
group in Tanzania. Some Sukuma live in the infamous Serengeti Plain, and in Shinyanga, and some
have migrated further south into various other areas. The Sukuma speak a Bantu language that is
similar to the national language of Tanzania; Swahili, although it is tonal making it differ from Swahili
(Jenkins 1996). The Sukuma have historically relied on agriculture, and the women do the majority of
the work for the family. Sukuma farmers grow crops such as cotton, cassava, rice, and peanuts
(Jenkins 1996). Certain subgroups rely more heavily on herding cattle, as well. While most Sukuma

Robotic Milking Is Becoming A Huge Part Of The Dairy Industry
Robotic milking is becoming a huge part of the dairy industry today. Today, lactating cows are able to
choose a time in which they want to be milked, and how often they want to be milked. The robotic
milking machine will prep, milk, and post dip the cow without humans having to do the work
manually (Figure One). Robots also give the farmers additional information about each individual
cow. Farmers are able to choose which type of system flow they want for their animals, and what they
think is best for their herd. The labor for robotic milking is less intense than the labor in tie stall/
stanchion barn, and can reduce the amount of employees the farmer has, which in return may help
save the farmer money. Many farmers are switching to this new way of milking their cows, because of
flexibility and increase in milk quality. Robotic milking is growing in the dairy industry and becoming
more popular in the United States, and we are going to start seeing more farmers install them. When it
comes to robotic milking, the farmer has different options on how they want their cows to flow
through the milking machine. Cows who are milked through a robot can either have free access to the
robot, or can be forced trafficked (also known as milk first system), to the robot (Munksgaard et al.,
2011). When cows have free access to the robot facility, the cows are able to access the feed and robot
all hours of each and every day. They are able to walk into the robot freely whenever the robot is

Negative Effects Of Television Violence On Society
Television Violence
Television violence has a negative effect on society. Violence is everywhere on television. A question
people ask often does violence on television has negative influence on society. Majority of people
believe that violence on television does have negative influences on society. Television violence has a
negative effect on society because it can influence to become violent and take drugs in the future.
Scientist has also tested and proven that television violence has negative influence on society.
Television has many shows with violence with it like Power ranger, Criminal Mind, and The Walking
Dead. In the show The Walking Dead is a show where a group of people try to survive in a zombie
apocalypse and have to use guns to shoot down the zombies. A child mind is easily molded easily, so
when a child sees violence on a television show they can learn to do violent actions in the future. An
example of this is when a child watches a show with a lot of fighting in it. Shows with a lot of fighting
in it are Power rangers and The kids next store. Most children mimic what happens on television and
start learning violent actions. This can lead to the child to think that violence is tolerable and start to
do more violence actions in the future. Later when they become adult they are more likely to use
violence to solve their problems. An example of this happening is when an adult is teased and start a
fight with someone. Not all shows have violence in them, Dora the explora and Curious George are
shows that are educational. In Dora the explora a girl with her monkey friend go on adventure and
have to use problem solving to get to their destination. Scientists like Leonard Eron have tested that
television does have a negative effect on society. The study of human behavior is Anthropologist and
archeologist. The scientist tested if television had a negative effect on society. They tested this by
having parent volunteer their child to watch several type of shows. The children were separated into
two group, group A and group B. Group A were shown violent shows and group B was shown
educational shows. Eight years after the test children from group A were more likely to be more

Dumber Comfort is a freedom from pain or constraint. Comfort is state of ease not only to the body,
but to the human mind as well. People s minds were evolving and getting bigger and became highly
functional trying to find the best way to change the face of life. With all the new inventions people
passed the line of essentials. People acquired the comforts of life that took away the focus from what
is necessary. Are the comforts making people s lives exceedingly enjoyable? Or are they somehow

Huma Human Factors Or Ergonomics
Introduction When we think of user experience we think of it as how a person interacts with a product
but in fact it we should think deeper about how and why a product makes us feel the way it does. User
experience can be defined as the overall experience of a person using a product such as a website or
computer application, especially in terms of how easy or pleasing it is to use . For a company user
experience is at the forefront in why a product is being designed and manufacture in such a way. In
order to produce an exemplary user experience you must meet the exact needs of the customer. For a
company to achieve this with a product they have to give the customer much more than simply what
they were looking for. A product can achieve a high quality user experience by compiling the multiple
factors that contribute to a person s user experience; marketing, design, display and engineering. ...

look at all aspects of the population such as size, age, strength, manoeuvrability, shapes and other
characteristics that affect different people when they come into contact with a product. Applying
Ergonomic principles and research to a product can greatly change a person s views. The first initial

There are no plan as of now to add any other member to the group. (Morrow, 2002)
Bluetooth is named after the 10th century Viking king Harald Blatand, who conquered all of Denmark
and Norway and converted the Danes to Christianity. (Aardsma, 2001) The king was known for his
desire to snack on blueberries and his ability to unite the warring factions that is now known as
Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. (Newstex, 2012) The idea that the blueberries caused his teeth to turn
blue is not confirmed. But his ability to unite different people groups inspired the SIG to use the name
Bluetooth.
Development
Low cost communication technology that uses little power was the reason Bluetooth was developed.
Developers wanted to be able to connect devices from different manufactures and with different
purposes, such as computers from Apple and mice from Microsoft. At low cost and a secure
connection. (Newstex, 2012) The design was to remove cables so that virtually

Managing Internal And External Warehouse Traffic Essay
Uline is a growing company, adding more than 3,000 SKUs per year to the catalog (31,000 SKUs
total). As one of the company philosophies, all inventory items are stocked in all warehouses at varied
stock levels (10% of sales) even if ordered infrequently (Exhibit 1). To accommodate new inventory
and increased sales, each of the 11 branch locations (Exhibit 2) expanded their campus (Main shipping
warehouses and auxiliary buildings), sometimes exceeding 1 million ft2 by building or leasing new
warehouses (Exhibit 3). It takes about two (2) years to build, outfit and begin shipping from a
warehouse around one (1) year for purchase and administrative tasks (zoning, licensing, etc.) and one
(1) year for construction, equipment installation, hiring, and stocking inventory.
The increased inventories and warehouse expansions present three (3) major problems: logistics of
managing internal and external warehouse traffic, the ability to find qualified people to staff
warehouse operations, and excess inventory taking space in warehouses.
Two product categories have driven the space requirements: boxes (20% of Sales) and material
handling (22% of Sales). While only a small percentage of the catalog (1,400 SKUs), boxes require
more space than most other category products. Historically, smaller warehouses were leased,
purchased, or built as branch box depots to account for growth. Growth in the material handling
category (additional SKUs) increased sales overall, but requires

Anxiety And Other Mood Disorders
Charles Frankel said, Anxiety is the essential condition of intellectual and artistic creation and
everything that is finest in human history . There is some evidence to support this idea that anxiety and
other mood disorders are essential to many forms of art. In this article I will examine how mood
disorders influence art, as well as give multiple examples of how mood disorders are portrayed in the
following art forms: paintings, literature, and music. Before we can broach the topic of art and mood
disorders we need to have a good basis of what mood disorders are. Mood disorders are defined as a
perpetual and significant disturbance in a person s emotional state or mood (Lane, 2013). There are
two main types of mood disorders: depressive disorders and bipolar disorders. Depressive disorders
are characterized by frequent and persistent depressive states. Bipolar disorders, on the other hand, are
characterized by fluctuations between both depressive and manic episodes, or lows and highs. I am
also going to include generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in our mood disorder category because there
are lifetime diagnoses of anxiety and depression that show extensive comorbidity , or in more simple
terms, there is a high chance that someone who has anxiety will also have depression and vice versa
(Mineka, 1998, p.382).
Now that we know what mood disorders are we can look at their relationship with art and creativity.
There have been past studies done that have shown that

Theme Of Water In The Aeneid
The Aeneid presents various themes throughout the course of Aeneas s journeys, but I noticed that
particularly in Books I and VI the theme of water is very prevalent and important. First we see when
Aeolus stirs up the storm, water causes so much destruction and it is completely out of Aeneas s
control. Then as he is crossing over to the underworld, Aeneas encounters Charon and the river of
Styx, where the whirlpool is murky, unknown, and dangerous. Overall, water is depicted as a
dangerous uncertainty in Aeneas s world. It is extremely powerful and has the potential to do so much
damage, however it can also be still and murky. Vergil uses imagery and descriptive diction to enhance
the theme of water as perilous and unknown throughout The Aeneid.
The theme of water is prevalent from the opening lines of the Aeneid book 1, however it is best
expressed through lines 81 130 where we see Aeolus stir up a storm against Aeneas s ships. This idea
that the water is unknown, dangerous, and out of people s control is particularly evident throughout
this excerpt. Talia iactanti stridens Aquilone procella velum adversa ferit, fluctusque ad sidera tollit.
Franguntur remi; tum prora avertit, et undis dat latus; insequitur cumulo praeruptus aquae mons. Hi

Summary Of The Bobo Doll Experiment
In the Bobo Doll Experiment conducted by Stanford University s Dr. Albert Bandura the researchers
were interested in a few things. The researchers were interested in seeing whether or not, if social
behaviors such as aggression can be influenced and acquired by imitation and as well observation. In
this study the participants were composed of 36 boys and 36 girls from the nursery on campus, all
ranging in the ages from 3 to 6. In this study a tall inflatable plastic toy that were painted as clown,
also known as a bobo doll was used. The bobo doll was buoyant and had weight at the bottom which
allowed it to stand back up after being knocked down. Moving on the participants were all split into
three groups: in which one group observed aggressive

Cancer Practitioner Personal Statement
For many years now, Scientists have struggled to help medical practitioners treat their patients
according to their symptoms and provided customized healthcare on a personal basis. However, how
personal can medicine get? In 2003, researchers obtained a complete human genome from which the
sequence and map of all genes in the human body can be used as a reference. With this development
we are a step closer to treating cancer and other diseases.
Most cancer treatments engage in trial and error basis of treatment which puts so much of pain, and
risk on the patient. I worked on a similar problem in my role as a research assistant in a project funded
by the NIH XYZ Clinical Translational Research Center. It was on the use of metabonomics for the
early detection of ovarian cancer. We worked on the development of various multi class modelling
techniques like support vector machines, random forests, k nearest neighbours and partial least squares
using RNA seq data from PQR that helped estimate accurate sensitivity, specificity, and positive
predictive values of the tumour and develop predictive models for cancer.
I have worked on DNA methylation, RNA expression, clinical patient data based on the Pancreatic

Battle Of Caporetto Research Paper
Rommel then led his entire detachment up the camouflage path into the Italian position and expanded
the breach along the line fifty yards on either side and captured several dozen more Italians who were
seeking shelter within their dugouts. Rommel s breach of the Italian line was done without firing a
shot and created an opening for troops to poor into the rear of the second line and cut it off from any
support. This tactic was repeated up and down the Italian lines was great success and supported the
unprecedented advance of the Central Powers in the region. It is obvious that the Italian troops and
positions were not prepared for the Battle of Caporetto. The Italian Army had not changed its
defensive doctrine throughout the duration of the war. The Italian Army taught its troops to hold every
position to the last man no matter how insignificant the position. This doctrine and ideology amongst
Italian troops resulted in their inability to maneuver from being surrounded when confronted with the
German infiltration tactics. The Italian Supreme Command was completely caught off guard and their
only response was to order reserves to the front in the hope to ... Show more content on

With the introduction of target specific artillery barrage on the Italian infrastructure and the Infantry
tactic of infiltration versus the common mass wave frontal assaults commonly found on the Western
front, the Central power exploited the Italians unwillingness to change from their predictable
defensive posture. The unprecedented success of the Central Powers in a region, which typically saw
little to no movement of the front lines worried the Allied nations outside of Italy. It resulted in the
creation of the Allied Supreme War Council in the hopes of providing a joint Allied council to oversee
Allied military strategy and prevent another Battle of

Louisiana Cng ( Cng ) On Two Basic Principles
Louisiana CNG was formed on two basic principles; bring affordable CNG conversions to everyday
consumers and provide safe reliable service. Founded near Franklin, Louisiana by Wesley Verret in the
spring of 2015, Louisiana CNG has consistently lived up to its standards; converting light, medium,
and heavy automobiles to operate on compressed natural gas (CNG). Compressed natural gas, or
CNG, is natural gas under pressure, which remains clear, odorless, and non corrosive (Consumer
Energy Center, 2015, p.1). Based on recent calculations concerning transportation fuel cost regarding
gasoline and diesel fuel, Louisiana CNG has brought to the table an alternative, compressed natural
gas (CNG). Starting in 2008, after the nation s worst economic meltdown since the Great Depression,
fuel costs quickly sky rocketed. For the past six years until recently, price per gallon for diesel or
gasoline hovered around the three dollars per gallon mark. Because of the nations demand for oil, this
was the direct correlation in fuel prices. Over the course of this same time frame a new technology
evolved to offset oil prices, hydraulic fracking. While the benefit has been tremendous not only in
driving down oil prices, it also has provided huge troves of methane or what industry experts call
Natural Gas. Natural Gas per BTU is significantly cheaper than both diesel and gasoline. CNG sales at
the station less than two dollars per gallon. These prices have been consistent over the past six

The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives
1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and truth.
And is also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal s
movements. For example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the bones
were broken and how a lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a human,
but rather an criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus à posteriori. The murderers did escape
from one of these windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes from the inside,
as they were found fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its obviousness, to the
scrutiny of the police in this quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They must, then, have the power of
fastening themselves. There was no escape from this conclusion. I have seen the character of
detectives evolve from one author to the next by having a brilliant life in Doyle s novel The Sign of
the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows. In The Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live
without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the Beast in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for
her completely, sending her meaningless on a frequent basis. Doyle s, Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s,
and Borges s fiction character and plot were similar as Poe s detective and plot. Therefore, they do
depend on earlier models. In respect, Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the French police while it
said, Well done, Goulard! quoth the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous attitude towards
the agency. I believe that Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I see, I could
definitely tell that Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many
authors followed his example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact
others to write detective novels. 2A. Rule number 10: The culprit must turn out to be a person who has
played a more or less prominent part in the story that is a, person with whom the reader is familiar and
in whom he takes an interest. I think Christie played fair with this. The book she used this idea in with

Social Control Theory And Recidivism
This was a very in depth research project, particularly for a research essay. For the research provide
was well written and well organized. However, there should be more methodology when it comes to
the subject of recidivism. There were several theories that I have come across when doing my
research; Social control theory is a belief that society has a responsibility to maintain stability, make
sure that rules and responsibilities are easily understood, and provide activities to prevent criminal
activity. A common example occurs when, in poverty stricken areas, children may not have enough
food to eat and are left home alone. In this instance, it is society s obligation to provide activities after
school to prevent children from committing

Symbols In The Veldt, By Ray Bradbury
The Veldt was first published in 1951. Some other works of Ray Bradbury is The Martian Chronicles,
The Illustrated Man, and Fahrenheit 451. He is known for writing about science fiction. Ray Bradbury
likes to write about the future and how technology will corrupt humans. The Veldt is about a family
who lives in a technologically advanced house that corrupts the children to eventually kill their
parents. Bradbury adds many different symbols into The Veldt such as names to symbolizes the
character s personality traits. The author uses characterization to convey how dysfunctional the

, Bradbury adds that In this case, however the room has become a means of creating destructive

Domestic Violence Against Immigrant And Refugee Women
4. How can Canada protect and welcome refugees and newcomers? How can domestic violence
against immigrant and refugee women be prevented? Some of the ways Canada can protect and
welcome and protect refugees by; Making the status in Canada secure This means that Canada should
make permanent residency open to all including migrant workers. They should not restrict the
Permanent Residency to only those coming for high wage jobs. There should be a legislation and
enforcement to protect them effectively. The migrant workers should also be empowered so that they
can access to information and different services useful to them and access to justice. Permanent
Residency should also be opened to persons who have been trafficked. The law should provide
adequate protection to all trafficked persons so that they apply temporary resident permits, Can make
refugee claims and can file their application for humanitarian and compassionate consideration.
Canada should have broad, inclusive and effective refugee resettlement program The government
should resettle a significant number of refugees specially persons who are most likely to be abused.
They should resettle them without discrimination. Newcomers refugees should have access to
protection Canada should create opportunities for refugees to reach Canada. They should also have a

Resource Depletion And Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Lifecycle Analysis
Background
The content of analysis will examine paper. It will look at the harvesting of the materials, production,
distribution, and finally the waste. This lifecycle analysis is to explain a consumer product s life from
production to waste. This is to show the environmental effects that the products has during its life
time. A few of the environmental impacts that will be focused on is resource depletion and greenhouse
gas emissions. These were chosen because of the chain reaction they can cause. Greenhouse gases are
known to be linked to climate change, which is a global problem so the impacts of these emissions are
on a very large scale. Resource depletion is another problem because more than one species rely on
forest. Therefore, the depletion of it is not only bad to humans but the other organisms that use it for
their survival. If this resource was to be completely used up, then it could lead to a loss of biodiversity
which could be bad for the local ecosystem. In addition, since some ecosystems are linked together the
loss of one could have a huge effect on another causing a domino effect. LCA Inventory Trees are a
good source of paper; there are other materials that can work but for the scope of this paper I ll only
focus on trees. As described in figure 1, the first step is to harvest the trees. To do this, usually heavy
machinery or chainsaws are employed to do the cutting. But this process

  • 2. The On The Soil Lacks For Life On Mars Essay The soil lacks in nutrients. Therefore, greenhouses would have to be built and constructed in a way that the plants can adapt to the environment in almost a similar way to Earth. This would allow the plants to grow on Mars and over some time, create food for life on Mars. To have this greenhouse on Mars it would help grow plants for food, recycling and for replenishing the air. The main disadvantage to easily growing plants on Mars is the low atmospheric pressure that would make the plants act as if they are quickly drying out and dying. To get around this issue on Mars, we would have to be able to control the air pressure in the greenhouse. Scientists have stated that A hydroponics system allows the plants to grow without soil, while artificial light ensures the plants are able to grow efficiently . The food planted needs to have enough nutrients in its roots to be able to grow and have enough nutrients for humans to survive. For human survival, we would have to plant enough plants for some to be used as creating oxygen in the atmosphere and the edible portion to our nutrition. This would keep us healthy on Mars and be able to survive. Surprisingly enough, the Martian soil contains nutrients that is even more nourished than some of Earth s soils. This means that the soil doesn t lack any nutrients to grow food, it is the excessive volume of Perchlorate chemicals which would cause adverse effects on a human s health. On Mars, as the plant grows, it starts to absorb the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sickle Cell Disease And Its Effects Sickle Cell Disease Sickle cell disease affects approximately 100,000 Americans and millions across the globe (Sobota, 2015). The three most common types of sickle cell disease are Hb SS (sickle cell anemia), Hb SC, and Hb S beta thalassemia, with Hb SS being the most common type (Harris, 2001). Sickle cell disease occurs in individuals who inherit the mutated hemoglobin gene, from one or both of their parents. The mutated hemoglobin, known as Hb S, crystalizes and join together into many small cords, which form chains that look like twisted wires (Harris, 2001, p. 20). Stretched to contain the Hb S crystals, the red blood cells take on spike and sickle shapes; this is how the name for the disease came about (Harris, 2001). Deformed, the sickled cells have a hard time moving through the blood stream and can eventually pile up in the blood vessels, having life threatening consequences. Although oxygen can reverse the sickling process in cells, turning Hb S back into a liquid, after a few sicklings the red blood cells membrane is permanently damaged and the cell will remain sickled. The History of Sickle Cell Disease American physician James Herrick was the first to describe sickle cell disease. In 1910, Herrick observed peculiar elongated and sickle shaped red blood corpuscles in the blood film of a West Indian student suffering from leg ulcers, shortness of breath, and jaundice (Chakravorty Williams, 2015, p. 48). In 1922, three more similar case were observed and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Comparison Between Hard Rock And Postmodernism Sociology Nate McDonald Between a Hard Rock and Postmodernism 9/17/12 I. What is the sociological question? What are the features of postmodern spaces? II. What is the analytical approach? Borchard s approach at the opening of the Hard Rock was a participant observation approach. Borchard wanted to get into the Hard Rock Café the opening night is Las Vegas because he wanted to part of the concert, and the once in a lifetime experience like everyone else in line. The line expanded around the 75ft spectacle of the Gibson guitar. Like everyone else, Borchard wanted to be a part of the grand opening to the most iconic and well known Rock and Roll hot spot now known. Borchard was looking to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The world is depending less and less on the individual and wants people to be more like society to fit in and be how the bigger picture sees it, they want people to be seen as the famous people are and rebel or look a certain way. If a normal man tried to get into the Hard Rock concert (like the blonde man s friend) they were denied because their look wasn t right for the concert and wouldn t be acceptable. Another man that Borchard talked to showed a way that society changed. It s called a microwave relationship and that was when the man just opened up and told Borchard his entire life story and he has never met the man before in his life. The man talked about his whole crappy life to Borchard but he didn t care, he wasn t interested but this proved another point of his. In the postmodern world people are becoming more and more open with complete strangers. In result the things in the world weren t lasting people couldn t keep secrets people just rambled on about anything and everything from their own lives even to others, and didn t think twice about it. The new postmodern world was departing from morals and individual expectations to gossip and looks. People now want to know and are willing to tell, people are not individuals but seem to stray towards the actions of those who society now says we should act like. The things in the world are ... • 5. The Responsibility Of Protecting ´ The ´Responsibility to Protect´ (R2P) concept first came about in a 2001 report from the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty (ICISS), which was set up after, then Secretary General, Kofi Annan, said there needed to be some a change in the United Nations charter regarding military forces in humanitarian interventions. This came following the criticism of the NATO intervention in Kosovo in 1999. The report further evolved into the concept that was approved in the UN s General Assembly in 2005 (Evans 2014; Zyberi and Mason n.d. 2013: 7, 513). In 2009 the UN confirmed a continued endorsement of R2P under the formula of three pillars and four crimes (Zyberi and Mason n.d. 2013: 10). The main issue with R2P has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The review will then conclude with an article from Evans, who goes over the use of R2P through the years, where it stands today and compares the situations in Libya and Syria. Even though R2P has been accepted in the UN General Assembly and is widely used in the literature of humanitarian issues, Zyberi and Mason point out that R2P is not a binding norm of international law although it does have a clear legal dimension to it. R2P is rather seen an international social, political and moral norm and even though it doesn t prohibit unilateral humanitarian intervention it does not grant States a legal right to intervene (2013: 13 14). According to Zyberi and Mason s analyses of the State responsibility in the context of R2P, they find it to have several different meanings and vary according to which perspective it s looked at from as the State and policies are influenced differently and the scope of obligations is different for a State s individual and collective responsibility (2013: 32 33). The political framework of R2P is therefore based on fundamental principles of international law and epitomises the humanitarian character of those laws that have been put in place to protect people in the world and their right to peace. The institutional efforts, however, to operationalise R2P differ considerably from one organisation to another (2013: 511 512). Zyberi and Mason say that along with the problem of different understanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Strike of the Eastover Mine Workers in the Movie,... The Academy Award winning movie Harlan County USA is an emotional depiction of the events that surrounded the strike of the Eastover Mine workers in 1973. Barbara Kopple directs a moving film and gives an up close in depth look into the struggle for a livable wage, healthcare that covers the ailments that arise from mine work and safer working conditions. While all of these were issues raised by the striking workers; they were also striking for respect as human beings, an upgrade to the only way of life they knew, and hope for their future. Most men understood that their family s destiny was deeply rooted in coal and since leaving was unlikely, they would be best served by allowing the United Mine Workers of America (UMW) to represent them instead of the company friendly Southern Labor Union (SLU). Which side are you on is a song written to explain that the issue is as simple as black or white, left or right and right or wrong. There is no doubt which side the film is created from and the position is justified. Kopple makes no apology for the one sidedness of her documentary. Kopple said We re pro union, this is a story about the union, and this is the way it is from our point of view. The grievances of the miners were just and needed to be addressed. She does an excellent job of creating sympathy and empathy for the deserving strikers and their families. To understand why the miners decided to strike is to understand Appalachia. • 10. The General Strain Theory, And General Integrated Theory This final theory is an extension of Hirschi s (1979) original idea of micro and macro dimensions which are called cross level or multilevel integrations (Barak, 2002). The general strain theory is also known as cross level or multilevel integrations including the reintegrative shaming theory, power control theory, control balance theory and general integrated theory (Barak, 2002). These theories combine theories like social bonding and social learning theories with structural theories such as social disorganization and strain theories but does not address macro level factors that influence crime, and instead focus solely on criminal behavior at the micro level. So far, very little theories suggested have encompassed all levels of explaining criminology (Barak, 2002). This is a social structure macro model which states that differential opportunities are not only crime class specific, but also are accompanied by motivations for both crime and punishment. • 12. Arguments In Dealing With Dragons While reading the novel, Dealing with Dragons , by Patricia C. Wrede, one could ask if someone like Cimorene, a princess in the story, should be justified if they go against what expectations are made of them and why that should ever be approved of. However, Cimorene was completely justified in ignoring the social norms of her day because it is very clear that she was never content with being a princess in that kingdom, she was only truly happy in living an improper life away from her heredity, and she is far more intelligent than most men, yet she is still treated like a lesser human being while in her kingdom that proves to only be keeping her behind from accomplishing great things. In the novel, Dealing with Dragons , it is made very clear that Cimorene immensely loathes being a princess in the Kingdom of Linderwall because of the social norms that she is forced to abide by. The author states, Then what, exactly is your problem? ... This! Cimorene gestured at the castle around her. Embroidery lessons, and dancing, and and being a princess! . This event occurs when Cimorene fairy godmother comes to the castle for a visit. Cimorene blatantly states that everything involved in her life is exactly her problem and because that, one can find that she was justified to run away from a life that she despises. Furthermore, this shows that Cimorene had a motive to run away from what would be an inexorable marriage because of her parents and that she never wanted to hurt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Storm by Kate Chopin The first thing I noticed about Kate Chopin s The Storm, is that it is utterly dripping with sexual imagery and symbolism. Our heroine, if you will, seems to be a woman with normally restrained passions and a well defined sense of propriety, who finds herself in a situation that tears down her restraint and reveals the vixen within. I wonder if it was intentional that the name Calixta makes me think of Calypso the nymph from Greek mythology. If half of the sexual symbolism I found in this story was intentional, Chopin was a genius. I was quite taken with the sexual imagery of the colors mentioned: white, and red. There is also mention a place called Assumption, while there s nothing written on it in the bible, I believe it s the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s no secret that storms bring a unique energy, something that is almost primal in nature. Animals react to coming storms because of this energy, I once had a cat who would pounce all over the house in the hours before a storm arrived, when the storm hit, he would sprint from room to room, his tail bushed out like a bottle brush and his pupils so large you couldn t see the iris. As the storm builds in its fervor and ferocity, tension and passion build between Calixta and Alcée to match. It begins with the gusts of wind that threatened to snatch away the clothing that was outside, hence Alcée grabbing the trousers, and follows as the water beat in upon the boards in driving sheets, then the rain beat upon the low, shingled roof with a force and clatter that threatened to break an entrance (Chopin 336). The language grows more telling in that just after there is mention of something threatening to break an entrance, Chopin describes Calixta s bedroom. The fact that it adjoins the room they re in is completely unnecessary, unless there s a reason for the reader to be aware of the bedroom. As the storm rolls on, Calixta goes to the window where she stands when the lightning bolt strikes a tree in the field. During the first millennium, there were vast migrations of early Bantu speaking people, and this is likely where the Sukuma culture is rooted from. As of 2005, it is estimated that there are around 5.5 million Sukuma people, and they are thought to account for up to 90% of the population in the city of Mwanza (Jenkins 1996), which has a population of around 2.8 million. Today, lactating cows are able to choose a time in which they want to be milked, and how often they want to be milked. The robotic milking machine will prep, milk, and post dip the cow without humans having to do the work manually (Figure One). Robots also give the farmers additional information about each individual cow. Farmers are able to choose which type of system flow they want for their animals, and what they think is best for their herd. The labor for robotic milking is less intense than the labor in tie stall/ stanchion barn, and can reduce the amount of employees the farmer has, which in return may help save the farmer money. Many farmers are switching to this new way of milking their cows, because of flexibility and increase in milk quality. Robotic milking is growing in the dairy industry and becoming more popular in the United States, and we are going to start seeing more farmers install them. When it comes to robotic milking, the farmer has different options on how they want their cows to flow through the milking machine. Cows who are milked through a robot can either have free access to the robot, or can be forced trafficked (also known as milk first system), to the robot (Munksgaard et al., 2011). A question people ask often does violence on television has negative influence on society. Majority of people believe that violence on television does have negative influences on society. Television violence has a negative effect on society because it can influence to become violent and take drugs in the future. Scientist has also tested and proven that television violence has negative influence on society. Television has many shows with violence with it like Power ranger, Criminal Mind, and The Walking Dead. In the show The Walking Dead is a show where a group of people try to survive in a zombie apocalypse and have to use guns to shoot down the zombies. A child mind is easily molded easily, so when a child sees violence on a television show they can learn to do violent actions in the future. An example of this is when a child watches a show with a lot of fighting in it. Shows with a lot of fighting in it are Power rangers and The kids next store. Most children mimic what happens on television and start learning violent actions. This can lead to the child to think that violence is tolerable and start to do more violence actions in the future. Later when they become adult they are more likely to use violence to solve their problems. An example of this happening is when an adult is teased and start a fight with someone. Not all shows have violence in them, Dora the explora and Curious George are shows that are educational. In Dora the explora a girl with her monkey friend go on adventure and have to use problem solving to get to their destination. Scientists like Leonard Eron have tested that television does have a negative effect on society. The study of human behavior is Anthropologist and archeologist. To accommodate new inventory and increased sales, each of the 11 branch locations (Exhibit 2) expanded their campus (Main shipping warehouses and auxiliary buildings), sometimes exceeding 1 million ft2 by building or leasing new warehouses (Exhibit 3). It takes about two (2) years to build, outfit and begin shipping from a warehouse around one (1) year for purchase and administrative tasks (zoning, licensing, etc.) and one (1) year for construction, equipment installation, hiring, and stocking inventory. The increased inventories and warehouse expansions present three (3) major problems: logistics of managing internal and external warehouse traffic, the ability to find qualified people to staff warehouse operations, and excess inventory taking space in warehouses. Two product categories have driven the space requirements: boxes (20% of Sales) and material handling (22% of Sales). While only a small percentage of the catalog (1,400 SKUs), boxes require more space than most other category products. There is some evidence to support this idea that anxiety and other mood disorders are essential to many forms of art. In this article I will examine how mood disorders influence art, as well as give multiple examples of how mood disorders are portrayed in the following art forms: paintings, literature, and music. Before we can broach the topic of art and mood disorders we need to have a good basis of what mood disorders are. Mood disorders are defined as a perpetual and significant disturbance in a person s emotional state or mood (Lane, 2013). There are two main types of mood disorders: depressive disorders and bipolar disorders. Depressive disorders are characterized by frequent and persistent depressive states. Bipolar disorders, on the other hand, are characterized by fluctuations between both depressive and manic episodes, or lows and highs. I am also going to include generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in our mood disorder category because there are lifetime diagnoses of anxiety and depression that show extensive comorbidity , or in more simple terms, there is a high chance that someone who has anxiety will also have depression and vice versa (Mineka, 1998, p.382). • 26. Theme Of Water In The Aeneid The Aeneid presents various themes throughout the course of Aeneas s journeys, but I noticed that particularly in Books I and VI the theme of water is very prevalent and important. First we see when Aeolus stirs up the storm, water causes so much destruction and it is completely out of Aeneas s control. Then as he is crossing over to the underworld, Aeneas encounters Charon and the river of Styx, where the whirlpool is murky, unknown, and dangerous. Overall, water is depicted as a dangerous uncertainty in Aeneas s world. It is extremely powerful and has the potential to do so much damage, however it can also be still and murky. Vergil uses imagery and descriptive diction to enhance the theme of water as perilous and unknown throughout The Aeneid. The theme of water is prevalent from the opening lines of the Aeneid book 1, however it is best expressed through lines 81 130 where we see Aeolus stir up a storm against Aeneas s ships. This idea that the water is unknown, dangerous, and out of people s control is particularly evident throughout this excerpt. Founded near Franklin, Louisiana by Wesley Verret in the spring of 2015, Louisiana CNG has consistently lived up to its standards; converting light, medium, and heavy automobiles to operate on compressed natural gas (CNG). Compressed natural gas, or CNG, is natural gas under pressure, which remains clear, odorless, and non corrosive (Consumer Energy Center, 2015, p.1). Based on recent calculations concerning transportation fuel cost regarding gasoline and diesel fuel, Louisiana CNG has brought to the table an alternative, compressed natural gas (CNG). Starting in 2008, after the nation s worst economic meltdown since the Great Depression, fuel costs quickly sky rocketed. For the past six years until recently, price per gallon for diesel or gasoline hovered around the three dollars per gallon mark. Because of the nations demand for oil, this was the direct correlation in fuel prices. Over the course of this same time frame a new technology evolved to offset oil prices, hydraulic fracking. While the benefit has been tremendous not only in driving down oil prices, it also has provided huge troves of methane or what industry experts call Natural Gas. Natural Gas per BTU is significantly cheaper than both diesel and gasoline. CNG sales at the station less than two dollars per gallon. These prices have been consistent over the past six ... • 31. The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives 1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and truth. And is also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal s movements. For example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the bones were broken and how a lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a human, but rather an criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus à posteriori. The murderers did escape from one of these windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes from the inside, as they were found fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its obviousness, to the scrutiny of the police in this quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They must, then, have the power of fastening themselves. There was no escape from this conclusion. I have seen the character of detectives evolve from one author to the next by having a brilliant life in Doyle s novel The Sign of the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows. In The Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the Beast in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for her completely, sending her meaningless on a frequent basis. Doyle s, Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s, and Borges s fiction character and plot were similar as Poe s detective and plot. Therefore, they do depend on earlier models. In respect, Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the French police while it said, Well done, Goulard! quoth the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous attitude towards the agency. I believe that Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I see, I could definitely tell that Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many authors followed his example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact others to write detective novels. 2A.
