Conflict Management Styles At The Individual And Little...
Numerous questions remain unasked and unanswered: Is there any confirmation that conflict cultures
exist at the authoritative level? How do such unmistakable conflict cultures create? How do leaders
shape the advancement of conflict cultures? What are the results of conflict cultures for authoritative
level results? Answers to these inquiries can t be found in the psychological literature on conflict,
which has for the most part centered around conflict management styles at the individual and little
gathering level. In this paper, we begin with the reason that despite the fact that people have particular
inclinations for distinctive conflict management methodologies, associations give solid settings
(Johns, 2006; O Reilly and Chatman, 1996) that serve to characterize socially shared and regularizing
approaches to oversee struggle what we allude to as conflict cultures which decrease singular variety
in conflict managing strategies(De Dreu, van Dierendonck, and Dijkstra, 2004; Gelfand, Leslie, and
Keller, 2008). Since standards regularly create around major issues that should be overseen in any
social framework (Schein, 1992; Schwartz, 1994), and conflict is a characteristic issue in most if not
every authoritative framework (Argyris, 1971), we expect that conflict cultures can create in numerous
associations. We suggest that conflict cultures, similar to their individual level and little gathering
analogs (De Church and Marks, 2001), take the type of avoidant, commanding,

Mobile Phones And Pda s With Bluetooth Capabilities
NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION
ABSTRACT
Nowadays there is an abundant use of mobile phones and PDA s with Bluetooth capability and some
of the devices are even the NFC enabled devices. In order for NFC enabled devices, consumer
services and payment are rapidly adopted in the consumer market. NFC technology can help in
improving services at a higher efficiency.
1. INTRODUCTION
NFC is an extension of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). RFID combines the interface of a
smart card and a reader into a single device.
NFC is a short range wireless technology that provides secured two way interaction between
electronic devices. Here, the communications are established in a simple way i.e. it does not require
any special set up by the users which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NFC, due to its shorter range provides a higher security than Bluetooth. Thus it makes NFC suitable
for crowded areas where correlating a signal with its transmitting physical device might otherwise
prove impossible.
1.1 Evolution of NFC:
Sony and Philips have taken the lead and developed the technology. It follows from the proprietary
smart card protocols and can be seen as an initiative to move forward the contact less ticketing and
payment applications which can be seen as the next stage in this market. The standard for this
technology was approved on 8th December, 2003. Later this standard was approved as an ECMA
standard. The next stage in the standardization process came when Nokia, Sony and Philips formed
the NFC forum on 18th march, 2004.The NFC forum developed quickly.
In June, 2006 NFC forum formally outlined the architecture for NFC technology. In August 2006, the
NFC Forum released the first four forum approved specifications.
1.3 Differences between NFC and RFID:
NFC is different from other wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WI Fi, RFID etc.
Bluetooth: Although NFC and Bluetooth are used to transfer data but Bluetooth can enable users to
transfer the data over longer distances compared to NFC, which can only transfer data over shorter
distances.
Wi Fi: Wi Fi is designed for LAN, which is not a short range peer to peer technology.
RFID: RFID can be used in any frequency or standard that is being used but NFC

Arguments For And Against Gay Adoption
In a study of sexual abuse, 269 cases only two of those cases the offenders were gay. Adoption of
homosexuals should be allowed because they are no different from heterosexual parents, the only
difference is preference on gender of their partner. People still to this day deny service to these people
just because of that. Gay and lesbian adoption should be allowed because children would actually get
adopted, homosexual parenting has no disadvantages to heterosexual parenting, and their children
would be more accepting to differences. In today s world heterosexual couples don t adopt much and
the most common resort to having the children be adopted is with homosexual couples. Homosexual
couples are six times more likely to foster children and four times more likely to adopt (Davis 1). In
some areas homosexual adoption isn t common because they tend to deny them of the access to do so
due to their sexual preference. In the areas that allow it there have been over 65,000 children have
found homes in the U.S. because of gay adoption ( Arguments for and Against Gay Adoption ). In
many other cases people tend to find gay adoption a great thing because with it many more kids will
be adopted and they also find nothing wrong with it. According to Susan McConnell, the founder and
director of Let It Be Us a non profit adoption center Across the country and especially in Illinois, we
just do not have enough people who have stepped forward, and we think that the (LGBT) community

Randy May works for a small airline based on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. He recently won two
million in the New England Lottery and decided to invest his winnings, ultimately, in a chain of ice
cream shops in the Cape Cod area to gain potential future earnings. Figuring he had enough money to
open up ice cream shops in both islands of Nantucket and Martha s Vineyard, as well as two shops in
Falmouth and Buzzards Bay, he signed a contract with a local builder and began construction of the
shops. After beginning the process of construction, he was faced with the next task of hiring
employees to staff the four ice cream shops. Throughout his calculations, he estimated ... Show more

Baba Joon Essay
Baba Joon is the newly released movie by writer/director Yuval Delshad. With a film career that grew
from the documentary world, this is his first feature. Never one to shy from reality, Delshad turned to
a subject that spoke to his heart; the father/son relationship. To create authenticity, the movie is filmed
in the dusty village where Delshad grew up and the actors speak a blend of Hebrew and Farsi, just like
it was in the 1980 s of his childhood. Delshad loves the fact that life imitates art, My baby, Yitamar,
was conceived during the start of photography and he is already trying to crawl! Baba Joon centers on
the conflict of a traditional father, Yitzhak, whose life has been hard and demanding, and his gently
defiant son who, as a pre teen, is refusing to learn how to farm turkeys. The mother understands that
their son, Moti, has no passion for the family livelihood but Yitzhak takes the decision badly. And thus
ends the hopes of all good dreams; the father s desire to pass on his father s business is doomed by his
son s utter disinterest. Here is a kid who has no love of turkeys, no desire to learn the trade and no
appreciation of the art of poultry manufacture. More painful is the perceived lack of respect that the
father senses in Moti s lack of interest. This is the farm that his father built with sweat labor and was

How does Baba Joon play against this reality? Delshad sees the similarity of his movie with the
current crisis. The Palestinian Israel conflict is also a culture of difference and the culture is so
different. I have Iranian friends and some Palestinian friends and when I see the way things are, I have
a difficult time seeing the way they response to events. We must understand the culture before it can
be possible to be break down the conflicts. Also, education has to update the students and education

The Benefits Of Physical Fitness
Physical fitness is to the human body a general state of health and well being, and more specifically,
the ability to perform aspects of sports or occupations.
Being fit doesn t mean being a champion in a particular discipline, or having muscles that pop out
from clothes... being fit means living healthy and accordingly being a happy person. Physical fitness is
generally achieved through a correct nutrition and a regular training activity. The benefits for being fit
are countless, not only the training and the healthy diet will help you to achieve a good body, but it
will also clean your mind and make you more happy and relaxed.

You obtain this energy from nutrients in the food that you eat mostly, carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Minerals and vitamins are other nutrients that are also important in your diet to help your body stay
healthy. It is important to find the right balance between these different nutrients to achieve maximum
health benefits. A balanced diet generally contains food from each of the following food groups:
starchy foods (such as: bread, rice, potatoes, pasta...), fruit and vegetables, milk and dairy foods,
protein foods; these include meat, fish, eggs and other non dairy sources of protein (including nuts,
tofu, beans, pulses, etc.).
Fatty and sugary foods are the fifth food group that you eat.
However, only a small amount of what you eat should be made up from fatty and sugary foods. In
addition to the
above, having plenty of fiber and water in your diet is also important for your health.
The reasons that bring a person to be physically fit are numerous, from the benefits that offer to the
physical body till the ones that reach the brain and improve the general status of a person s mind at the
psychological level. Fitness may help prevent certain serious diseases such as high blood pressure,
diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. It may

manufacturing processes with aesthetic differences such as the use of less chrome and different paint
schemes that are easily changed at the factory level.
For customers seeking the ultimate in personalization, Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) produces
motorcycles that are hand made. Where the Kansas City plant can produce 50,000 V Rods per day in
standard production, each CVO technician produces 2 motorcycles per day. This level of production,

Naturalism Literary Period
Naturalist writing portrays individuality within a character allowing one to obtain humanistic themes
from these literary works. Naturalists utilize mundane monotonous lives and reveal the heroine within,
when all (environment, opportunities, intuition) seems out of control. This type of literature was found
relatable during the rapid urbanization and naturalization after the Civil War, where many in bustling
developing cities suffered from poverty and its poorly prevented consequences. The American
naturalist movement was important due to the introduction of themes involving popular apprehension
during this time period including; man vs. nature, man vs. society, sex trade, wasted potential due to
uncontrollable forces, and man s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also unlike romanticism, Zola uses his characters as a device for symbolism rather than a hero for
readers to look up to. In these naturalistic writing of Zola, there is also much emphasis of people
working together in groups, the literary references are greatly due to the labor wars that were taking
place during the turn of the century. Zola also took frankness about sexual functions much further than
the early Realists had dared; and it is this, combined with a pervasive pessimism about humanity,
which chiefly characterizes the Naturalist novel (Brians). Americans were attracted to this relatable
coarse naturalism, more than that of realism.
Though realism and naturalism were introduced through the protest against romanticism, without
these tragic tales of fiction, the stories we know today, such as the all American detective story would
not be a part of even our most elementary entertainment.
Naturalism s main attraction to the American people was due to the timeframe in which it introduced
its morals and themes to the population. The repugnant forces and perplexing relationships in life are
represented through naturalist literature. Plots in literary naturalism follow a prominent decline. These
plots often elaborate a character s general worsening. Naturalist stories tend to be written in an
omniscient third person point of view. This format presents an objective tale of a main

Research Paper On Acetonitrile
A number of physicochemical properties must be considered while choosing a solvent for
electrochemical work [35] like being in a liquid state at room temperature, capable of dissolving
electro active species of interests, having a large potential window and having required acid base
properties. The dielectric constant is the most important parameter for a solvent.
The cheapest solvent is water, which possesses many physico chemical properties. It can dissolve
ionic components and form highly conducting solutions. Water, deionized and repeatedly distilled with
alkaline KMnO4, is usually considered as pure. The purity is checked by conductivity measurements.
The volatile and organic impurities [36] are removed by passing the distilled water vapour through a
column containing Pt catalyst at about 800C over which oxygen also simultaneously passed.

1.7. Supporting Electrolytes All ionic salts or ionizable compounds in a solvent are defined as the
supporting electrolytes. It is very important to realize that they can influence the electrochemical
processes in a number of ways.
i. These electrolytes impart conductivity to the solvent and hence enable the continuous current flow
in solution. ii. They must remain electro inactive in the potential region of interest, if any useful

The Oldest Trade Prostitution Essay
Prostitution: The Oldest Trade
An Economic and Health Problem Prostitution by definition is described as sexual intercourse in
exchange for remuneration (Bhunu,C.P, Mushayabasa,S.S, 2012). Prostitution has a variety of forms:
Brothels, escorts, prostitution and street prostitution. Brothels are established buildings specifically
dedicated to prostitution; escort services can take place at the payer s residence or hotel room, and
street prostitution is usually seen in urban areas on street corners. Women involved in prostitution are
a cause for concern from both public health and economic perspectives (Murphy, 2010). The
promiscuity involved in the life of prostitution creates a high risk population for contractive sexually

The act of selling one s body for money is degrading. For radical feminism, prostitution is defined as
male domination, exploitation, and violence against women whether entered into voluntarily or not,
whether legal or illegal. As the most prominent radical feminist organization, the Coalition Against
Trafficking in Women, proclaims on its website, All prostitution exploits women, regardless of women
s consent (Weitzer, 2006). Prostitution is one of the more widely known and condemned forms of
sexual deviance (Goode, 2011). Prostitution touches all women, rationalizes the sale of any woman,
and condenses all women to sex.
In the area of public health, prostitution may play a decisive factor in the spread of STDs to third
parties. One should not reduce adverse health effects in prostitution to STDs (Adriaenssens, S.,
Hendrickx, J, 2012). Sexually transmitted diseases are without a doubt a significant part of the health
risks for the sex industry. Health and prostitution is often associated with dangerous sexual practices.
We consider interactions to be unsafe when they have a significantly higher risk of leading to an
infection with a STD with adverse consequences for the quality of life of the person infected
(Adriaenssens, S., Hendrickx, J, 2012). Studies show that a decline in sexually transmitted diseases

Use Of Parody In Dr Strangelove
To show satire in Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, director
Stanley Kubrick uses parody, exaggeration, and incongruity. One effective method Kubrick uses is
parody. In the movie, Kubrick plays on actors and typical stereotypes. Major Kong, as played by
Louis Burton Lindley, Jr. or Slim Pickens, is a play on the American Cowboy. When Major Kong goes
down to the bombs to open the doors he gets dropped with the bomb. As he is seen leaving the plane,
Major Kong rides the bomb as if it were a bull in a rodeo. From Major Kong s heavy accent to his
cowboy, Major Kong is the stereotypical American Cowboy. Kubrick also plays on the Nazi scientist
who were sought after in WWII. Dr. Strangelove is a play on Werhner von Braun, a Nazi scientist.
While in the war room, Dr. Strangelove suggests a backup plan for if the doomsday device was fired.
During his speech, his hand keeps doing a Nazi salute as he struggles to suppress it. This is a parody
because during this time the US looked passed their Nazi ways due to their intelligence needed for the
space program. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While naming the contents of the survival kit, Major Kong lists a gun, ammo, rations, antibiotics,
bible, money, chewing gum, lipstick, and stockings. The begining contents are reasonable but he then

the president if they fired all their missiles they would prevail and suffer only modest and acceptable
casualties. The general later describes these casualties as only ten to twenty million people killed. If
the president were to only kill ten to twenty million people he would be known as the greatest mass

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Biodiesel Fuel
Biodiesel Word count:
Introduction
Biodiesels are one way new energy sources are developed. Biodiesel refers to a vegetable oil or
animal fat based diesel fuel consisting of long chain alkyl esters. Biodiesel is typically made by
chemically reacting lipids (e.g., vegetable oil, animal fat with an alcohol producing fatty acid esters).
The origin of biodiesel fuel, the earlier engines worked so smoothly on earth nut or pea nut oil that
only a few people were aware of it. These engines were then worked on vegetable oil without making
any alterations.
Discussion
Biodiesel fuel is believed by many to be the fuel of the future. As a clean burning alternative, the bio
fuel comes from 100% renewable resources. Biodiesel can be used in pure form or may be blended
with petroleum diesel at any concentration in most injection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Disadvantages of biodiesel fuel
At present, Biodiesel fuel is bout one and a half times more expensive than petroleum diesel fuel.
It requires energy to produce biodiesel fuel from soy crops; plus there is the energy of sowing,
fertilizing and harvesting.
Another biodiesel fuel disadvantage is that it can harm rubber hoses in some engines.
As Biodiesel cleans the dirt from the engine, this dirt can then get collected in the fuel filter, thus
clogging it. So, filters have to be changed after the first several hours of biodiesel use.
Biodiesel fuel distribution infrastructure needs improvement, which is another of the biodiesel fuel
disadvantages. The environmental and economical impact of a biodiesel, and factors that are used to
evaluate a biodiesel
A number of environmental effects of biodiesel fuel are also surfacing associated with its use. These
biodiesel fuel environmental effects potentially include decrease in greenhouse gas emissions,
deforestation, pollution and the rate of biodegradation.

Post Independence, The Western Hemisphere
Post independence, the western hemisphere progressed away from European colonial power. This
authority shift led to the creation of nations, which are groups of people unified by common descent,
culture, or language, a particular country or territory. Consequently, the ideology of nation building,
which can be defined as the process of building or rebuilding state institutions to create a sustainable
and legitimate state, became widespread . When Latin America got involved in nation state building,
territorial expansion brought about social issues with the lingering Spanish Portuguese colonial
influence and hierarchical distinctions based on race. Colonial legacies were partially responsible for
why economic standing was associated with cultural background; this relationship contributed to
conserved inequality that favored elites. The best lands were distributed to the decedents of white
men, while people of other cultural backgrounds ended up as national minorities that faced
discrimination. With such a drastic gap in the social hierarchy because of disproportionate land
distribution, an ever more exclusive society, made of American born European descendants known as
creoles, emerged. The creoles undeservingly established economic and political dominance over the
mass population , and obtained power under conventional meaning: when a person or organization
that is strong or influential within a particular context; bearing in mind most people think of this type
of power

amounts. To see why this it, construct a temporary line on the Forecasting sheet to input the ratio of
Sales to Average Receivables and then compute the resulting ending Receivables forecasts. To
illustrate this point, input 15% as the ratio of Ending Receivables to Sales and then add a temporary

Out of all sports, football seems to be the one that builds the most vigorous bonds between its
teammates. The physical demands during a game and practice force each player to rely on one another
on the field. Think about the relationship between each offensive lineman. They all have to visually
examine each others backs while bulwarking their own. Even more vigorous than that is the
relationship between a quarterback and his offensive teammates. As mentioned afore, the offensive
line is there to forfend the quarterback. The quarterback needs to trust them to stop any defensive
player from getting to him, in order for him to do his job. Withal, the quarterback must have faith in
not only his o line, but his wide receivers and his running backs as well. He has to trust them that they
will be able to make plays if he gets them the ball. Discipline is shown in Remember the Titans. The
players of the team have to go through rigorous discipline. They are required to wear uniforms and act
as opportune as they can otherwise they are penalized for disobedience. They are required to revere
their elders. The players of the team have to reply with Sir after everything they verbalize. The team is

Food Apps And The Apple App
With technology nowadays, the production and use applications, or simply apps, have become widely
popular. Being that I am a Computer Science major, and have myself created a mobile application and
a handful of web applications, I know the power of this stuff and how they are able to reach and affect
millions of people all over the planet. As wise ones once said: With great power comes great
responsibility. We must create and use this technology boom and creation of applications to benefit
human life, not harm it. I believe we started to do this with the creation of food apps. The power to
spread beneficial knowledge about food can reach everyone with the tap of a finger. Healthy food
practices and the awareness of organic foods can change people lives through an app. However, some
food apps fail to do such. Some apps are more profit focussed rather than morality focused. I will
cover the strengths and weaknesses of three food apps in the Apple App Store, one Monterey Bay
Aquarium s Seafood Watch, EAT24, and Yummly. First we will go over Seafood Watch. The first
weakness I immediately notice (note this may be a biased opinion based on my app development
experience) is the user interface. The app is not all that pretty, and nowadays the top apps are also the
most beautiful. Besides that, the applications contents are really good. I am able to search for different
kinds of seafood, and also learn a lot about that particular breed of fish. On the home screen, there is a

One evening Jo goes upstairs to tend to Beth, when she realizes that Beth is no longer sleeping. Beth is
still, pale, has thin cheeks and is not breathing. As Jo quietly mourns by herself, she thinks about what
her life will be like without Beth as her arms instinctively tightened their hold upon the dearest

Relationship Between the Muscular System and Its...
Each body part has a specific role within the community of the human body. When working properly,
each system is contributing to maintaining homeostasis as well. The purpose of this essay is to discuss
the relationship between the muscular system and how it contributes to the overall health and balance
of the body it is placed within. The essay will discuss the function of the muscular system, the
organization of the system and how it contributes to homeostasis. The muscular system is the part of
the body that assists with motor function and movement. There are three types of muscles in the
human body that are included within this system. Smooth muscles are involuntary and are found
inside organs such as the stomach and throat. Skeletal muscles are voluntary and are located
everywhere throughout the body. The third type of muscles are cardiac muscles that are involuntary
and keep your heart beating. While most people associate muscles with strength, they do more than
assist in lifting heavy objects. The 650 muscles in the body not only support movement controlling
walking, talking, sitting, standing, eating and other daily functions that we consciously perform.
Muscles also help to maintain posture and circulate blood and other substances throughout the body,
among other functions. Muscles can also be identified by their function. The flexor group of the
forearm flexes the wrist and the fingers. The supinator is a muscle that supinates the wrist by rolling it

St Basil s Cathedral Essay
At the end of the Byzantine period of art and the beginning of the Romanesque era of architecture and
painting, the effects of the period could be seen all across Europe. The main focus of the period was
buildings of religious significance, structures like Katholikon and the Hagia Sofia. An area that
adopted the style later than the rest of Europe was that of modern day Russia. This was due in part to
the city of Constantinople being conquered, and as a result the seat of Christianity moved north
(Byzantine Lecture, Curtis). Though Russia may have adopted the style, many of its structures of the
time follow a unique style greatly influenced by its long history and geography, with aspects of
Byzantine buildings injected into it. One structure that exemplifies the Russian style is that of Saint
Basil s Cathedral in Russia s capital city of Moscow. Saint Basil s Cathedral is a testament to Russia s
own sense of style in architecture that formed from Byzantine roots. Saint Basil s Cathedral was

Students write on their mini whiteboards whether haloalkanes will have higher or lower melting /
boiling points than alcohols by identifying what type of bonding is present.
Place a haloalkane in a beaker of water and identify if it soluble. Students in pairs reason why the
observations are seen.

C1 C2 are gases at room temperature. C3 C4 are volatile liquids. C5 are solids at room temperature.
Amines have a lower melting / boiling point compared to alcohols as they have hydrogen bonding

alcohols are much stronger resulting in higher melting / boiling points.
Small molecule amines are soluble in water. As the alkyl chain increases the solubility decreases.
Primary amines can react with a haloalkane to form a secondary amine via a substitution reaction.
CH3NH2 + CH3CH2Cl (heat) CH3NHCH2CH3 + HCl
The secondary amines can react with a haloalkane to produce a tertiary amine.
For alkanes, alkenes, haloalkanes, amines and alcohols draw a mini reaction scheme that shows the
formation and reactions that they can produce. Schemes should identify that alcohols are oxidised to
aldehydes, carboxylic acids and ketones depending on the starting material and type of reaction used.

Van Gogh Essay
Van Gogh Essay
In this essay I am going to discuss Vincent Van Gogh and post Impressionism. Vincent Willem van
Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its
rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th century art. After
years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound,
generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to
only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.
France in the late 19th century was in the rule of the ambitious Napoleon III. Prussian prime minister,

Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh has risen to the peak of artistic achievements. Although Van Gogh
sold only one painting in his life, the aftermath of his work is enormous. Starry Night is one of the
most well known images in modern culture as well as being one of the most replicated and sought
after prints.
One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing popularity.
There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night sky filled with
swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the
features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel
comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes moving about the painting, following
the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved
in the painting while the other factors take hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a
small town. There is a peaceful essence flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and
the fiery windows spark memories of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what
exists in the night and dark starry skies. The center point of the town is the tall steeple of the church,

Chicago Police Department Essay
Leading up to the establishment of the Chicago Police Department, the first rank of constable was
created in 1830. Authorization of Chicago s very own police force occurred on January 31, 1835. On
August 15, 1835, the Chicago Police Department was born. The department s mission reads, The
Chicago Police Department, as part of, and empowered by, the community, is committed to protect the
lives, property, and rights of all people, to maintain order, and to enforce the law impartially. We will
provide quality police service in partnership with other members of the community. To fulfill our
mission, we will strive to attain the highest degree of ethical behavior and professional conduct at all

Nichols and John Shrigley. The three men served and protected a population of about 3,200. In the
year 1837, the Municipal Court of Chicago was created. It had co jurisdiction with the Cook County
Court within corporate limits of the city of Chicago. Between the years 1838 and 1854, the Chicago
P.D consisted of very few collection of officers, constables, and part time night watchers to maintain

The Slavery Of The Nineteenth Century Essay
When people today consider the lives of the slaves of the nineteenth century it is likely that their
thoughts would be focused on stereotypical southern plantation slaves. This picture is not all
encompassing, however. Slave experiences differed across the south as well as between the north and
south and produced a variety of different experiences. Sojourner Truth was born with the name
Isabella Baumfree as a slave in upper New York. Truth was sold between a variety of masters,
separated from her husband, and eventually escapes slavery in 1826 shortly before New York
emancipated all of its slaves. After spending several years of taking care of her family, Truth began to
speak as an advocate for abolition and women s rights at conferences and events. Her speech When
Woman Gets Her Rights Man Will Be Right was delivered at the annual meeting of the American
Equal Rights Association in New York in 1867. By this time, even the slaves of the south have been
effectively emancipated and the formerly enslaved have begun to search for equal rights beyond their
basic freedom. Her audience is presumably thirsting for further progress so her speech serves to
address her hopes for what is to come and for whom. She tells those in attendance of how she is not
done battling for equal rights in the wake of emancipation. The issues she highlights are wage
inequality and universal suffrage, which she puts into the broader context of the ultimate advantages
of giving women the rights that they

John Howard s Argumentative Analysis
Former prime minister, John Howard s contentious statement that Australians of this generation should
not be required to accept blame for the past actions and policies over which they had no control
(Howard statement, human rights report) contradicts Australia s character. This destructive comment
has deepened old wounds that are present from the genocide committed towards Aboriginals of the
Stolen Generation. Australia must accept liability for past policies as they have inflicted life long
impacts towards the victims, Australia continues to suffer division unless an apology is stated and
Australia has previously apologised for the past policies of former governments. If the nation

Australia has stalled the process of addressing the issues of former governments as the nation
possesses a narrow mindset of not being responsible for other people s actions. Many continue to deny
the existence of the Stolen Generation as Howard stated, I didn t believe genocide had taken place,
and I still don t. (Howard s statement, the Guardian) Due to the failure to act in a just and sympathetic
manner, it has resulted in 16,846 Aboriginal children in out of home care in 2016, in comparison to
2,785 Aboriginal children in 1997. Australia must remove the finger from the national pause button to
provide comfort for the deserving Aborigines who were exposed to prolonged suffering, abuse and
persecution. The past, present and future generations need to apologise as it is a continuous lifelong
struggle for Aborigines as it never goes away. Just cause we re not walking around on crutches, doesn
t mean we re not hurting. (Confidential Evidence 580, Queensland Bringing Them Home Report.)
Australia s patriotic society lacks nationalistic sorrow towards the victims affected by these policies.
This proves that Australians of this generation are obligated to feel remorse as the insensitivity
towards Aboriginals

Essay Similarities between Greek and Egyptian Mythologies
The ancient world was comprised of mysteries. There were no scientific explanations for the structure
of the world, the existence of humans, or the meaning of life. To explain these dilemmas they turned
to religion and mythology. However, as were often isolated geographically there was no universal
answer to any of these questions, though many cultures many have derived similar solutions to certain
questions, despite being separated by large physical distances, such as the Greeks and Egyptians.
Although there are minor differences, Greek and Egyptian mythologies share many similarities.
One parallel between Greek and Egyptian creation stories is that they both begin with a God or Gods
being created from the universe. The creation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Greek and Egyptian mythologies, there is a supreme God. In Greek tradition this was Zeus, Zeus
was now King of all the gods and lived on Mount Olympus. (Corsar, Reid Rooney, and Smith 9) In
Egyptian mythology, this position was first held by Osiris, and the other deities herald him by saying
He lives, the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, beloved of Ra, living forever! Heir of Geb, Osiris,
beloved of the gods, Osiris, given life, endurance, joy, health, all happiness, like Ra! (Kaster 81) After
being murdered by Set, he became ruler of the Netherworld, and was replaced as King of Upper and
Lower Egypt, by his son, Horus. The idea of a supreme deity is common in both Greek and Egyptian
traditions.
Some Greek deities can also be identified with Egyptian ones, in particular the Greek Dionysus and
the Egyptian Osiris. They both preside over fertility, in addition to their other duties. Another
similarity is that they are both twice born. Dionysus was born first from Semele s womb and then later
from Zeus s thigh. Osiris was the son of Geb and Nut and was resurrected by Isis after being murdered
by Set. (Livingston, Greek and Egyptian Religious Parallels) Other Gods and Goddesses that are
similar include Horus and Apollo, Isis and Demeter, Hathor and Aphrodite, Neith and Athena and Bast
and Artemis. (FOOTNOTE GREEK AND EGYPTIAN RELIGIOUS PARALLELS) There appears to
be an overlap between many deities in Greek and Egyptian mythologies.

Vibrio Natriegen s Generation Time
Title: Vibrio natriegens s generation time and optimal growth environment using a Closed Growth
System.
Abstract: The objective of this experiment is to find out what the optimal growth environment is for V.
natriegens out of three different environments. The first is a Brain Heart Infusion broth (BHI) that
contains 50 mM of NaCl. The second is BHI containing 250 mM of NaCl. The third is BHI containing
1000 mM NaCl. In order to obtain this, a growth curve graph must be constructed for each different
environment, and the generation time of the bacteria in each environment must be calculated. The
optimal environment for V. natriegens was found to be the BHI with 250 mM of NaCl.
Introduction: The type environment that bacteria live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the y value posted in the upper right hand corner. The following data was obtained from the
Closed System Growth experiment:
As shown in the figure above, it is evident that V.natriegens grew faster when the Brain Heart Infusion
(BHI) broth contained 250mM NaCl. The # of bacterial cells at each time point was measured
following the equation given in the How to generate a bacterial growth curve supplemental material
posted on D2L. (2) The data was then recorded in the table listed above. A growth curve graph was
constructed using the data above which illustrated the differences between each of the different BHI
mixtures. The graph was then used to determine the generation time of V.natriegens for each different
environmental condition. In order to calculate the generation time (g) the mean growth rate (k) must
be calculated. The formula to do this is posted in the supplemental material How to generate a
bacterial growth curve on D2L. The k value calculated for each condition goes as follows:
At 50 mM NaCl k= 2.2 generations per hour
At 250 mM NaCl k= 4.7 generations per hour
At 1000 mM NaCl k= 3.2 generations per hour
The generation time for each condition goes as follows:
At 50 mM NaCl g= .45 hours per generation
At 250 mM NaCl g= .21 hours per generation
At 1000 mM NaCl g= .31 hours per generation
With all of these calculations the environment that is optimal for V. natriegens was determined.

Listening For Information The Goal
When listening for information the goal is to gain and evaluate the information given to us. We get
this information from various places throughout our day to day lives. For example, in classes, new
stories, political debates, and more. We may need guidance during a doctor s appointment or when
given directions. During all of these cases we listen to gain and understand information in order to act
appropriately (Wood, 2015). Being mindful is an import first step. Staying focused when the
information gets complicated or confusing can be difficult however, don t let your mind wonder and
take in as much information as possible. You can always ask questions later and get a better
understanding about what you didn t understand. I sometimes struggle with this. As I lose interest or
get lost in what the other person is trying to tell me my mind then starts to give up. I can make little
notes about what was not clear so the person can elaborate further and allow me to get a better
understanding. When it is hard to concentrate on a conversation look around and see what is making it
hard to pay attention. Maybe there is too much noise from the T.V., or the room is too cold or hot.
These are things you are able to control by turning off the T.V. or setting the thermostat to a
comfortable temperature. With three kids in my house the T.V. is almost always on. This can be a huge
distraction for me at times. Another control obstacle I struggle with is trying to minimize

Cultural Diversity Of The Republic Of Indonesia
Within the cultural diversity of the Republic of Indonesia there are numerous artistic art forms that
have surfaced throughout this country. These genres give outsiders a glimpse into the cultural and
social context in which this society functions. Internationally this country is most recognized for its
traditional music ensemble known as gamelan. This art form serves as a significant part of the artistic
culture. It is used to accompany dances, puppet performances, rituals, and various ceremonies.
Furthermore, gamelan has always been an important part of the social construct within the different
provinces of Indonesia as it holds great recognition within its community. The different forms of
gamelan throughout the country in many ways have served as its own version of the Gesamtkunstwerk
within the culture of Indonesia and through provinces such as Bali we see how one of their own
genres of gamelan became the genesis for Balinese artistic culture.
Within the province of Bali, one of the most archaic genres within this region is known as Gambuh.
Gambuh is the oldest known surviving performing dance drama which dates back to the early
sixteenth century during the Majapahit era under the influence from classical Hindu Javanese court
culture and performing arts. According to ethnomusicologist Emiko Susilo she stated, When the dance
dramas of Majapahit came to Bali, they had the new task of preserving the tradition of a fallen

things that are going to get in your way to achieving them.
Before we go any further let s establish the use of language here. Goals can be substituted with
objectives, targets, outcomes, achievements, resolutions, aims, ambitions and any others you can think
of. For the purpose of this report, the writer will use Goal.
How often have you started off the year, or next phase of your development with good intentions, and
some goals of what you want to achieve, only to find that somehow you never see to achieve them?
What I will cover in this article is the 9 biggest obstacles that will get in your way. I will take each one
in turn and explore what is behind it, why it is there, and more importantly the action you can take to
put it to one side.
What I will also do is evidence this be using the responses of a survey conducted with Sole Traders,

1. How would you inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement proceses?
Mediums to be used in order to inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement
processes could be in the form of a soft copy such as e mail, sms, a power point presentation, or an
Intranet platform as well as in the shape of a hard copy like personalised letters and general

Case Study
The problems Mary is facing from when she takes on her new role as a manager in the call centre are a
growingly bad customer service caused by a low working morale. This has been accepted and even
fuelled by the former management as well as staff not willing to take responsibility for their work,
including follow ups on customer complaints. What is taking place here seems like the blame game ,
which refers to everyone pointing their finger to someone else if any issue or complaint occurs. The
staff is being left very insecure about what is expected from them and the specific requirements of
their job. The team leaders are not receptive for suggestions and ideas from the call centre operators
and they actually feel threatened if someone comes up with a better idea, so they refuse to act . Due to
this situation the company has already lost a major client as well as having call centre operators
resigning from their working contracts. Mary has been asked to help improving this situation.
Overlooking the situation in the call centre and Mary s position I would suggest that she has to act
immediately and before even considering any changes on the level of the call centre operators
(operational level), which have been blamed for most of the misery, she has to sit down with the
senior management or the CEO of the company to get really clear on the companies goals.

Doing Business In Nepal
I decided to do my research for values and beliefs on Nepal, because it gave me an opportunity to
share a positive experience for my pastor unlike the one Bush had with the shoes. When the first
earthquake in Nepal happened we sent a team to Nepal to help, and while they were there they handed
out white scarves. Several months later my church sent our pastor and while there the same scarves
that were handed out previously to the people got returned to our pastor. As he was leaving people
came by and hung the scarves around his neck, he was told that this was the highest respect the people
of Nepal could show. He was also handed a wooden drinking vessel, that had survived the earthquake,
it was 100+ years old and he was told that it was the highest valued ... Show more content on

I can not tell you what an awesome feeling it was to listen to my pastor tell the story of what he
experienced. So when reading about the disrespect of Bush and the shoes it reminded me of what our
pastor experienced. So I decided to search on Nepal business etiquette. According to the article Doing
Business in Nepal), it is a practiced custom when invited to someones home to give a gift (Doing
Business in Nepal). Something practiced at business meetings, I personally think is a good idea,
because it helps get to know the person you are doing business with and help break the barrier of
conversation is talking about your family, work, and life experiences are all good ways to establish
personal relationships (Culture Crossing). Which in my opinion is a good thing to help you in your
business meeting. Something I found interesting and is not practiced as it use to be in the US, if you
are invited for a meal then the host is expected to pay for it, and they consider it rude if you offer to
pay (Doing Business in Nepal). Now I don t know personally from a

  • 3. Conflict Management Styles At The Individual And Little... Numerous questions remain unasked and unanswered: Is there any confirmation that conflict cultures exist at the authoritative level? How do such unmistakable conflict cultures create? How do leaders shape the advancement of conflict cultures? What are the results of conflict cultures for authoritative level results? Answers to these inquiries can t be found in the psychological literature on conflict, which has for the most part centered around conflict management styles at the individual and little gathering level. In this paper, we begin with the reason that despite the fact that people have particular inclinations for distinctive conflict management methodologies, associations give solid settings (Johns, 2006; O Reilly and Chatman, 1996) that serve to characterize socially shared and regularizing approaches to oversee struggle what we allude to as conflict cultures which decrease singular variety in conflict managing strategies(De Dreu, van Dierendonck, and Dijkstra, 2004; Gelfand, Leslie, and Keller, 2008). Since standards regularly create around major issues that should be overseen in any social framework (Schein, 1992; Schwartz, 1994), and conflict is a characteristic issue in most if not every authoritative framework (Argyris, 1971), we expect that conflict cultures can create in numerous associations. We suggest that conflict cultures, similar to their individual level and little gathering analogs (De Church and Marks, 2001), take the type of avoidant, commanding, ... NFC, due to its shorter range provides a higher security than Bluetooth. Thus it makes NFC suitable for crowded areas where correlating a signal with its transmitting physical device might otherwise prove impossible. 1.1 Evolution of NFC: Sony and Philips have taken the lead and developed the technology. It follows from the proprietary smart card protocols and can be seen as an initiative to move forward the contact less ticketing and payment applications which can be seen as the next stage in this market. The standard for this technology was approved on 8th December, 2003. Later this standard was approved as an ECMA standard. The next stage in the standardization process came when Nokia, Sony and Philips formed the NFC forum on 18th march, 2004.The NFC forum developed quickly. In June, 2006 NFC forum formally outlined the architecture for NFC technology. In August 2006, the NFC Forum released the first four forum approved specifications. 1.3 Differences between NFC and RFID: NFC is different from other wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WI Fi, RFID etc. Bluetooth: Although NFC and Bluetooth are used to transfer data but Bluetooth can enable users to transfer the data over longer distances compared to NFC, which can only transfer data over shorter distances. Wi Fi: Wi Fi is designed for LAN, which is not a short range peer to peer technology. RFID: RFID can be used in any frequency or standard that is being used but NFC ... Adoption of homosexuals should be allowed because they are no different from heterosexual parents, the only difference is preference on gender of their partner. Gay and lesbian adoption should be allowed because children would actually get adopted, homosexual parenting has no disadvantages to heterosexual parenting, and their children would be more accepting to differences. In today s world heterosexual couples don t adopt much and the most common resort to having the children be adopted is with homosexual couples. Homosexual couples are six times more likely to foster children and four times more likely to adopt (Davis 1). • 16. Post Independence, The Western Hemisphere Post independence, the western hemisphere progressed away from European colonial power. This authority shift led to the creation of nations, which are groups of people unified by common descent, culture, or language, a particular country or territory. Consequently, the ideology of nation building, which can be defined as the process of building or rebuilding state institutions to create a sustainable and legitimate state, became widespread . When Latin America got involved in nation state building, territorial expansion brought about social issues with the lingering Spanish Portuguese colonial influence and hierarchical distinctions based on race. Colonial legacies were partially responsible for why economic standing was associated with cultural background; this relationship contributed to conserved inequality that favored elites. The best lands were distributed to the decedents of white men, while people of other cultural backgrounds ended up as national minorities that faced discrimination. With such a drastic gap in the social hierarchy because of disproportionate land distribution, an ever more exclusive society, made of American born European descendants known as creoles, emerged. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the relationship between the muscular system and how it contributes to the overall health and balance of the body it is placed within. The essay will discuss the function of the muscular system, the organization of the system and how it contributes to homeostasis. The muscular system is the part of the body that assists with motor function and movement. There are three types of muscles in the human body that are included within this system. Smooth muscles are involuntary and are found inside organs such as the stomach and throat. Skeletal muscles are voluntary and are located everywhere throughout the body. The third type of muscles are cardiac muscles that are involuntary and keep your heart beating. While most people associate muscles with strength, they do more than assist in lifting heavy objects. The 650 muscles in the body not only support movement controlling walking, talking, sitting, standing, eating and other daily functions that we consciously perform. Muscles also help to maintain posture and circulate blood and other substances throughout the body, among other functions. Muscles can also be identified by their function. An area that adopted the style later than the rest of Europe was that of modern day Russia. This was due in part to the city of Constantinople being conquered, and as a result the seat of Christianity moved north (Byzantine Lecture, Curtis). Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still. France in the late 19th century was in the rule of the ambitious Napoleon III. Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh has risen to the peak of artistic achievements. Although Van Gogh sold only one painting in his life, the aftermath of his work is enormous. Starry Night is one of the most well known images in modern culture as well as being one of the most replicated and sought after prints. One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing popularity. There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes moving about the painting, following the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved in the painting while the other factors take hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a small town. There is a peaceful essence flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and the fiery windows spark memories of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what exists in the night and dark starry skies. This picture is not all encompassing, however. Slave experiences differed across the south as well as between the north and south and produced a variety of different experiences. Sojourner Truth was born with the name Isabella Baumfree as a slave in upper New York. Truth was sold between a variety of masters, separated from her husband, and eventually escapes slavery in 1826 shortly before New York emancipated all of its slaves. After spending several years of taking care of her family, Truth began to speak as an advocate for abolition and women s rights at conferences and events. Her speech When Woman Gets Her Rights Man Will Be Right was delivered at the annual meeting of the American Equal Rights Association in New York in 1867. By this time, even the slaves of the south have been effectively emancipated and the formerly enslaved have begun to search for equal rights beyond their basic freedom. Her audience is presumably thirsting for further progress so her speech serves to address her hopes for what is to come and for whom. She tells those in attendance of how she is not done battling for equal rights in the wake of emancipation. The issues she highlights are wage inequality and universal suffrage, which she puts into the broader context of the ultimate advantages of giving women the rights that they ...
