Survival In Auschwitz by Primo Levi
There moments when people just look back in time how situation drastically changed to modern time.
But it wouldn t have become a lesson if no one looked at the issues people had affected society to
present and future. According to the well known book in 20th century written by Primo Levi, Survival
In Auschwitz, he explained about the time of his experience as a young 24 year old man being placed
in German camp since he was considered as Italian citizen and Jewish raced . During the holocaust, it
is one of the most horrible case of position to be part of because it is a matter of fact that there are
unfair controversy based on race, and how people were severely treated. There is a point when people
experiences the suffocation, but towards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were placed to work in camp. If they refuse to do what the Germans tell them to do, they ll just
kill them. Many Jews died by murder, starvation, or living with diseases living in camps. He survived
in camps for 10 months, and was known as greatest author and a survivor, throughout his life
experiences.
For all what Levi had gone through must be the scariest experience. It started off from Levi s life how
he was pursuing his career as a Chemist, then all of the sudden, Germans just had to take over Italy
and capture many Jews as possible to either send them to camps or get rid of their life. It is
unbelievable to think about before time of Holocaust, Germans and all only do is just kill people, force
them to do things they really don t deserve to do like working in factories. It is also unbelievable that
Germans who are in charge of looking after the Jews, they treat them like animals, not human being.
Hardly any food for them to eat, forced them to work, everyone looked the same by having their heads
shaved and getting their arms tattooed with code numbers. Just reading through Levi s partial life
experience living in Auschwitz, is just incredible how he manages to remember the worst times he had
seen and done. The greatest and worst times will always be glued into a human s brain. It s amazing
how he s able to tell a story to tell by just writing what he remembered from experience into a

India is the largest user of groundwater for irrigation in the world. India has around 432 cubic
kilometres of annual replenishable groundwater re sources. With a net annual groundwater availability
of 399 cubic kilometres, the net withdrawals in 2004 amounted to 58% of the net annually available
resource .The drawn amount of groundwater is estimated to be 210 billion cubic meters per year
compared to 105 billion cubic meters in China and 100 billion cubic meters in US. Indian agriculture
is sustained by groundwater. According to the 2005 06 Agricultural Census of the country, 60.4
percent of the net irrigated area is irrigated using groundwater. Agriculture is the source of livelihood
for majority of Indian population. Groundwater is contended to have ushered green revolution in the
country. Groundwater irrigation has ensured food security in times of deficit rainfall and facilitated a
manifold increase in agricultural productivity. The country has become a net exporter of food grains.
In 2009 10, agriculture employed 52.9 percent of the working population (National Sample Survey

Middle School Autobiography
In middle school, I was not popular. I was kind of an outcast. I hated the popular kids my whole life,
yet always aspired to be one. I hung out with the girls who listened to k pop, watched anime, and
loved alternative music more than life. I had popular friends, but they only spoke to me, when their
other friends were not around. I was typically a person who takes humiliation to heart, took way too
many jokes seriously. Most of the time it was because they were black jokes, which I didn t think were
funny. People have told me No you re black. or Why are you here? Africa misses you! You look like
Lil Wayne. I never did anything about it and people kept doing it. Everytime someone judged me for
being african american, my self esteem took a deep dive.
But 2015, was the year, the most embarrassing thing ever happened, and more than once. It was May,
the last month of 8th grade year, and I was more than ecstatic to get out of what felt like jail. I went to
school wearing my floral shirt, light wash jeans, and black converse. I contentedly walked out my
house, in 70 degree weather. After about 7 minutes, I was on the Signal Ditch Trail to school. I got to
school at 8:15 and the day got off to a great start.
I went into to Mrs. Wohlenberg s class, very nonchalant and irritated. She was awful at teaching,
which was her only job, and she choose favorites. All of her favorites were the popular kids, therefore
I never had a chance. She literally bought them nachos,

A Word Wall For Scientific Vocabulary
Science Class: A word wall for scientific vocabulary can be created for courses like Chemistry,
Physical Science, Earth Science, and Physics core classes. For example, in chemistry a word wall for
physical changes, chemical change, and periodic table vocabulary can be constructed by the students.
For Physics, words like speed, velocity, kinetic energy, and potential energy can be posted on the wall
for a lesson on forces and motion to help facilitate the acquisition of academic terminology for ELL
learners in the field of science. Also concepts that are opposite to each other like strong/weak,
long/short. Hot/cold, soft/hard, ect. allows students to develop critical thinking skills required for
comparing and contract analysis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
History Class: Pictures or actual replicas can fortify a timeline for a given period of history. For
example, scrutinize a photograph or an actual items from a specific place or time will bring meaning
to the ELL learner. If a video or movie rendition is presented and then a snap shot from the video is
affixed to the timeline then the students is to make multiple visual relationship between the video, the
picture, and the time in history.
English Class: A slideshow or power point presentation can create a visual representation for teaching
about similarities and differences between adjectives used to describe people. Or showing pictures of
characters in a novel will help the students put an image to a written discretion that may not have been
able to create with word only. This can also be used for other aspect within a novel like a setting, plot,
themes, and symbols to meet the language objectives and the core content objectives.

Growing Up In The House On Mango Street By Sandra Cisneros
In the novel, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, the theme of growing up is prevalent
throughout the book. Throughout the novel, a young mexican girl named Esperanza goes through
experiences as she matures that involve her friends, society, dangers that expose her to the outside
world and help her to realize what the real world is like.
The first time Esperanza makes an appearance in the book, she is younger and easily manipulated,
especially by her friends. Esperanza meets a girl named Cathy, a snobby girl that lived on Mango
Street. When Cathy tells Esperanza Okay, I ll be your friend. But only until next Tuesday. That s when
we move away. Then as if she forgot I had just moved in, she says the neighborhood is getting bad
(13) This was a racist statement towards Esperanza and her family, something she doesn t quite
understand yet because Esperanza thinks Cathy forgot they moved in, yet she was actually being
racist. This is the first time Esperanza is exposed to racism in the book, therefore exposing her to the
outside world. Later in the book, Esperanza meets Sally, a beautiful girl with shiny black hair, that all
she seemingly just wants is to love, and Esperanza wants to be just like her. I like your black coat and
the shoes you wear, where did you get them? I want to buy shoes just like yours. (82) Sally and
Esperanza become friends, but later in the story, in the chapter Red Clowns, Esperanza is put in a
dangerous situation where Sally walks off

Alternative Dispute Resolution In Court Cases
An Alternative Dispute Resolution not only is beneficial in the fact that it s a less expensive procedure
in comparison to filing for a lawsuit but also because it offers a process that is considered to be less
time consuming. A court system that enforces a plaintiff to have an
Alternative Dispute Resolution before proceeding with their lawsuit in court would benefit both the
plaintiff and court system tremendously. This new enforcement of having an Alternative
Dispute Resolution would give plaintiffs the luxury of not having to deal with all the hassles of having
to go to court. Also, plaintiffs wouldn t have to worry about all the expenses associated with having to
pay lawyers, especially if their cases were to be strung out due to over flow

Analysis of Bruce Dawe s Anti-War Poem, Homecoming Essay
An anti war poem inspired by the events of the Vietnam War, Homecoming inspires us to think about
the victims of the war: not only the soldiers who suffered but also the mortuary workers tagging the
bodies and the families of those who died in the fighting. The author, Australian poet Bruce Dawe,
wrote the poem in response to a news article describing how, at Californian Oaklands Air /Base, at one
end of the airport families were farewelling their sons as they left for Vietnam and at the other end the
bodies of dead soldiers were being brought home. Additionally, he wrote in response to a photograph,
publishes in Newsweek, of American tanks (termed Grants in the poem) piled with the bodies of the
dead soldiers as they returned to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These sections allow for a change in emotion as each represents a separate part of the homecoming :
Saigon describes the packaging of the bodies and how the soldiers are zipped up in green plastic bags;
the flight represents the travel home, which metaphorically could also be their souls to heaven; and the
third section is the arrival of the bodies in Australia. The use of pronouns gives the first two sections
an emotionless feel as we do not learn specific names or information about the victims. However,
when the scene changes to urban Australia in the final section the emotion changes to grief and regret
for the families. The emotion of the speaker is indicated by signature language, the poet describing
how telegrams tremble like leaves from a wintering tree and small towns where dogs in the frozen
sunset raise muzzles in mute salute . Comparing the telegrams fluttering to the ground to leaves falling
from a tree in winter reinforces our assumption of the tragic news contained within the telegrams: the
wintering tree is clearly a metaphor for death and hence we know that enclosed within the telegrams is
notification of the soldiers demise. Equally moving is the reference to man s best friend mourning its
loss, the poet describing how the dogs respectfully acknowledge the precious

Marge Piercy Barbie Doll Analysis
The standards of women since early history has always been set to an unrealistic bar, that make girls
around the world feel insecure and unworthy of being beautiful. Society has cemented views of
women and what they should look and act like based on things like makeup, body figure, clothing, etc.
Women from all places are urged to alter their appearances in order to fall into the category of
beautiful. The impulse for women to paint their face is due to the fear of other people not seeing them
as attractive (Warren par. 7). The perfect female is thought to have flawless skin, perfect make up, and
a slim body. Hiding behind a full face of makeup discriminates women themselves, as it hides their
genuine glamor and disguises their true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three examples link to basic female customs that all women are expected to exhibit. The baby dolls
allude to the stigma that all women are expected to have children and be the main care giver to them
throughout their childhood. Stay at home mothers were extremely common during the time Barbie
Doll was written, and second wave feminism was just a fresh idea that would soon begin to change the
discrimination of gender in the work force. This idea is linked to the GE stoves reference, portraying
how women s only importance was to stay home and cook for the men in the family, spending their
time in between tiding the house throughout the day. Andrei Cimpian, a psychology professor at New
York University, states in an article by the National Science Foundation that Not only do we see that
girls just starting out in school are absorbing some of society s stereotyped notions of brilliance, but
these young girls are also choosing activities based on these stereotypes. This is heartbreaking
(Margetta). The stereotype of brilliance that Cimpian mentions is the fact that most young girls believe
that boys will always be the smarter gender and will always outdo females in raw brainpower due to
the negative stereotypes that float around in society (Margetta). The reputation of this fact is only
shaming girls to end up as a stay at home mom, and not even give the effort to reach for their
aspirations (Margetta). Piercy s last item stated was

The Causes And Effects Of Marijuana
According to the United Nations, 158.8 million people around the world use marijuana that is more
than 3.8% of the planet s population (Marijuana statistics, 2017). These statistics indicate that
marijuana is frequently being used around the world without people knowing its positive and negative
effects. Marijuana is one of the most abused drugs in the world. There is an ever growing gap between
the latest science about marijuana and the myths surrounding it (drug facts, marijuana). A lot of people
around the world are still ignorant about marijuana and its uses. They do not even know about its
existence. Marijuana is a slow poison that deteriorates the body and the person consuming it loses the
ability to think about his own welfare. When a person loses the ability to think, that is when his
downfall starts. There are effective uses of marijuana, yet there are also serious issues that should be
considered and therefore, all this leads us to research more deeply into this matter and make all
possible efforts to understand the causes and effect of marijuana more effectively.
Marijuana can lead to a lot of genetic damage to our human body which can further result in other
ailments. Based on the results of an experimental study published in the journal Chemical Research in
Toxicology (2009), investigators reported that carcinogenic potential of marijuana is attributed to
compounds like acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde can change the structure of DNA in our body which can

Narcissism Research Paper
Introduction In this current society, an increasing number of people discuss one controversial debate
everywhere: Are younger adults more narcissistic than previous people? In fact, when people select
one side of this debate, they are supposed to know two essential questions: what is truly meaning
about narcissism? How does this debate originate from? In general, Narcissism, originated from the
Greek mythology, is used to describe the action or habit of someone s self complacence. Surprisingly,
it has a totally different explanation in psychology. As Jean M. Twenge (2006) mentioned in her article
named On Army of one: Me, Narcissism is one of the few personality traits that psychologists agree is
almost completely negative. Narcissists are overly focused on themselves and lack empathy for others,
which means they cannot see another person s perspective (para. 22). In other words, narcissistic
people, in åa psychological view, are self centered and grim rather than obsessed with self. Therefore,
this topic actually asks people that is the younger generation grimmer and more self centered than old

Columbine high school. Before they did this horrible tragedy, they recorded a videotape and said some
narcissistic words and did some cold blooded actions, like making a shooting noise , said Isn t it fun to

Enroll in a Closed Campus Essay
Internationally there are many college campuses that are closed so that the productivity as well as the
safety of the school are increased. A closed campus, in Asian countries such as China and South
Korea, are set up where walls are built around the college campus so that only students or faculty may
enter the premises. The students of closed campuses probably have less stress and higher grades, thus
higher productivity. Albeit students have more freedom to do whatever they wish to do on an open
campus, students are developing a need to enroll in a college with a closed campus due to, all needs or

Students who leave campus to go to retail stores for products can also find those goods on campus in
places such as the café, book store, or gifts shops. Common needs such as poster boards, pencils, pens,

campus to buy necessary school supplies. Commodities such as restaurants are available around the
clock. Many famous restaurants, though many being fast food, set up shops within college campuses.
Students can enjoy a wide variety of options ranging from pizza to ethnic cuisines right there on
campus all day long. College students eternally need a place to rest so that they may relax after a long
day s work. Often, students go to the quad and play a game of catch with friends. Students can go to
the recreational rec center where swimming pools, hot tubs, workout machines, and gaming stations
are available at the students disposal. Having areas where students may relax around campus is the
better alternative, opposed to having to leave campus to relax. Resources that students need or want
are better off located near students so that they may enjoy them immediately. Many four year

Thorny Lizard Research Paper
In today s time, it is not uncommon to see strange looking animals whether it be in a normal front yard
or the plains of Africa. Sometimes it is interesting to study these very different animalists and this is
by far one of the weirdest ones. The thorny devil lizard is one of the world s strangest lizards that is
not like the common green lizard. The Thorny Lizard is a unique animal that belongs in the kingdom
Animalia. It is apart of the phylum Chordata and the class reptilia, which contains snakes, turtles, and
other lizards. It is also a part of the order Squamata and the family Agamidae and finally, its genus is
Moloch. These lizards are not going to be found in a grassy backyard or on a fence but rather

Pros And Cons Of Child Beauty Pageants
Imagining if one day you saw your five year old daughter with a full face of makeup and high heels.
Now she looks like a miniature adult. Not only is she a miniature adult, but now she also is very self
conscious of herself and has an eating disorder at five years old. Child beauty pageants have some
pros and a of lot cons to them. Also, they can affect a child s development. One should consider that
child beauty pageants can lead to a lot of mental health issues for kids at a very young age. First, we
will talk about how child beauty pageants started. The upbringing of child beauty pageants is very
interesting. It started off with Pageants celebrating female beauty and charm being fixture at fairs and
festivals the U.S. since the 19th century (Hilboldt), and then Their rise in popularity probably dates
back to 1954, when the miss America pageants was first broadcasted on TV (Hilboldt). In 1960, a
miami broadcaster hosted the first locally televised pageant for children, Little Miss universes
(Hilboldt). Around The 1980 s child pageants had become an inextricable part of life in the South...
(Hilboldt). Pageants have dated back for centuries, but did not rise in popularity until it was first
broadcasted on TV. Furthermore, the number of kids that participate in beauty pageants is eminence. A
majority of little girls wanted to be in pageants, because They began dreaming of one day becoming
Miss America (Hilboldt). With so many kids in pageants It s estimated that 25,000 children compete in
more than 5,000 pageants in the U.S. each year (Hilboldt). It is crazy how many little girls participate
in beauty pageants each year just so they can hopefully become the next Miss America. While beauty
pageants are still relevant and legal in the U.S. France is trying to ban them. France is considering a
move to ban beauty pageants for girls under 16 as a way to fight the hyper sexualization of children (
France ). While, Under the proposal, organizers of beauty pageants aimed at young children...could
face up to two years in prison and fines of $40,000 ( France ). Also, The measure is a part of of a
wider law on gender equality and was approved by the French Senate after garnering 197 votes in

Role Of The Power Industry And The Services It Provides Essay
The main goal of DTL Power s cybersecurity strategy is maintaining data integrity and availability of
resources while ensuring that all systems and facilities exceed the industry standards. This strategy is
critically important due to the nature of the power industry and the services it provides. The
implementation of the controls falls in line with the cybersecurity strategy designated by leadership.
The hacktivist and virus attack were able to successfully penetrate our system causing downtime and
affecting system integrity. Cyberattacks are becoming more frequent and evasive therefore it is
imperative that strong security measures be enforced to not only secure network resources but to
prevent unauthorized access.
In order to prevent unauthorized access to DTL Power s data, the cybersecurity team has selected
strict filtering controls to secure the firewall with the strictest configurations to better control traffic
traversing the network and disabling all unnecessary open ports. A firewall with strict filtering rules
detects intrusions and prevents unauthorized access by policing the traffic and access requests to the
firewall. By disabling firewall ports that are not necessary for normal communication, attack
opportunities are greatly reduced. Devices use specific ports for communicating so it is important to
conduct a thorough inquiry into which ports need to remain open. An attacker can take advantage of
open ports, gain access and create a backdoor for

we grabbed our pets and jumped on a lifeboat. We were first to leave and we got further than anybody
else. That night we heard a creaking noise under water. It turns out to be a Sperm Whale then it
jumped up and ate everybody else. Day 3: Then drifting with a year s supply of food, we were told to

guardians, as its lifeguards from the raging tides of international conflict, as its gladiators in the arena
of battle, he shows that the cadets have many risks they sacrifice for their country. All of the people he
compares are protecting someone. Using parallelism in ideas makes his speech impactful by being
able to find a common theme throughout and a sense to revisit while in the gloomy battlefields of war.
The parallelism in structure used in his address is We are reaching out for a new and boundless
frontier. We speak in strange terms: of harnessing the cosmic energy; of making winds and tides work
for us; of creating unheard synthetic materials to supplement or even replace our old standard basics;
of purifying sea water for our drink; of mining ocean floors for new fields of wealth and food; of
disease preventatives to expand life into the hundreds of years; of

Hamlet And Ophelia In Shakespeare s Hamlet
In the Shakespeare play hamlet, Hamlet tries to hide a lot of emotions. In the play hamlet and ophelia
are said to be in love or that Ophelia loves hamlet. Although people believe they are in love, Hamlet
does not really act like he does love her. In the play, Hamlet has an unknown relationship with ophelia
that could be fake; But there could be some reasoning behind the relationship and why he would be
using her. Throughout the play Hamlet does not treat Ophelia well and sometimes even insults her. He
had said many times Get thee to a nunnery (III.I). He would often say this throughout this
conversation as another way to make her feel bad. That he was trying to hurt but still look as if he
loved her to others. Also later when Ophelia talks about what happened she said He took me by the
wrist and held me hard (II.I). That in the conversation between hamlet and Ophelia when Hamlet was
not verbally hurting her, he would sometimes get physical. Hamlet would often use this as a way to
show how insane he was getting. Also when Ophelia was talking to Polonius she said And thrice his
head thus waving up and down (II.I). This is another example of when Hamlet do things to make
himself seem more insane. Also he is using Ophelia again as a way to spread about himself that he
wants. So Hamlet would verbally and sometimes physically hurt her to get her to do what he wants.
Hamlet had felt that he would have a better connection to the people around him if he was with
Ophelia.

Fear In The Outliers By George Orwell
Fear s tendencies are much akin to that of a parasitic worm; forever burrowing with hunger insatiable,
altering and manipulating its host if given dominion. Fear did not fall unknown to him, for he shared
familiarity as one would with an age old friend, sans camaraderie. Did it guide him? Perhaps, but
within a world devoured by illness, where wolves lay with sheep, sometimes a touch of paranoia
interwoven with persistent foreboding kept you from the yawning endless maw of death itself.
Furthermore, in the outliers, there slinked more than the diseased to dread. Let the mindless tear him
asunder, let the infection render him free of his faculties or dig him six feet under, but, vehement, he
refused the allowance for the Cognizants to bring

The Most Convincing Justification for Private Property
The most convincing justification for private property provided by Ziff is that of economic efficiency.
Private property incentivises innovation, lowers the cost of dealing with externalities, and with
moderation, reduces the susceptibility of property to the tragedy of the commons. Economic efficiency
holds particular weight because of the significant amount of today s societies that rely on a market
based system to conduct business, trade and commerce. This system lists private property as one of its
founding tenets and therefore heightens the justification s persuasiveness. It is not suggested that a
fully privatised property regime would be ideal either, but a mixture of both private property and
communal property is seen as the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To the contrary Ziff argues that the cost of policing would also be more expensive under a private
property regime as the creation of boundaries would add costs that would not have otherwise have
existed. Conversely Grafton suggests that the cost of boundary erection is merely temporary, as after
the initial set up of boundaries, cost of negotiations and policing are comparatively reduced.
Communal property rights contrast this; as they hold long term economic costs to the interest owners
as negotiation costs will continue to increase exponentially, as policing costs are not one off, and
negotiation costs are comparatively higher . It is therefore evident that private property provides the
most economically efficient method of dealing with externalities in the short run and the long run, as
costs and reaction time are rapidly reduced.
Ziff also argues that the over distribution of private property may result in myopic view of
externalities, as each land owner would only care for their own property and not about the needs of the
wider community affected by externalities created by their land. This short term view, is an inherent
downfall of private property, but society has developed means and ways in which these costs can be
met, for example through regulatory authorities, and it is therefore argued that a fully privatise
property regime would not be preferable but a partly common and partly private alternative, as

Customer Satisfaction And Customer Engagement Essay
Customer Satisfaction and Customer Engagement.
For a business to prosper, the staff must ensure the customers are treated with respect. Any business
solely depends on the availability of its customers or clients. If the clients are not contented with the
type of service they receive from a specified firm, they will move to other places where they will be
satisfied. As such, it is important, as a manager of any business, to ensure customers are treated with
respect and are in turn happy. To make sure that this happens, the staff need to know how to engage
properly with a client and ensure the customer is satisfied with the type of service they get.
The following couple of paragraphs will help discuss and understand customer satisfaction and
customer engagement. The discussion will entail the differences between these two and how each can
be attained in any business. It shall also enlighten one on the importance of these two factors towards
a successful business.
Customer satisfaction refers to the feeling of gratitude a customer or client gets after purchasing goods
or services from a particular firm. Every business must have its tactics to ensure that their customers
are contented with the type of service offered or the goods sold and as such will come back anytime
when in need of the same type of goods or service. To ensure proper customer satisfaction, the staff
must practice good customer engagement.

Multi Touch Screen Essay
Multi Touch Screens vs. Mouse Driven Screens As the use of computers and other electronic devices
is growing by day, new and better technologies in the way that these devices are made are finding their
way into the computer world. The result of this has been an increase in computer related applications,
better electronics and more complex systems being developed for use (Norman, 2007). As such, this
has prompted different electronic designers to come up with the most appropriate technologies that
make it easier for different users to interact with the availed technologies. The result of this has been
the product of both the Multi Touch Screen and the Mouse Driven Screens interfaces. Differentiate
between the interaction types and styles that apply to multi touch screens and applications running on
them Generally, there are two key forms of monitor interfaces that should be highly considered in the
process of designing different computer applications namely the multi touch screen interface and the
mouse driven interface. The controlling actions that are carried out by different computer users tend to
have different preferences when it comes to the use of different computer applications uses (Dearden,
2008). As such, the application of the multi touch screen gives computer users an opportunity to
interact with the computer applications via a touch screen that will give them a chance to tap, swipe,

Standing The child stands upright with good postural stability and minimal sway if any. His knees are
slightly bent and the leg is in slight external rotation causing the feet to be splayed outward at about 30
degrees. The boys arms are slightly internally rotated and are help at his side.
Sitting The child is positioned upright in a legs crossed sitting pattern. Posture is good and sway is
nonexistent. The boys arms are bent at the elbows and his forearms are resting just proximal to his
knees on the medial thigh. The cervical spine maintains an upright position over time. The child
displays good postural control with upper extremity deviation from the aforementioned position.

To do so the child used his upper extremities to push his weight back and onto his lower extremities.
In doing so the child quickly and smoothly swung his right leg out in front of his body and left his left
leg crossed mostly bearing the weight of his upper body. In a large amplitude, smooth, quick
movement the child used both legs and neither upper extremity to stand upright turning his hips to the
left to compensate for the crossed leg underneath him (this squared his hips in such a way that his foot
was now facing directly in front of him as he came to standing). The movement ended with the child
in a stable standing position with a good base of support.
These positions and motion were all very well controlled and were executed smoothly. Beyond these
transitions and positions the child displayed multiple combinations of controlled movements during
play. This puts the child into the context specific category of development (ages 7 11). This child was
only 4 years old but displayed proficient movement control that can be considered above average

The Assassination of John F. Kennedy
November 22, 1963 is a day in which some Americans will remember and some won t. That Friday at
12:30 P.M the President of the United States was shot at Dealey Plaza, Texas. There have been
numerous theories on how the president was killed and how many shooters there were. However we
did catch a suspect named Lee Oswald who was a former U.S. Marine sniper, who hated Kennedy s
views, and fled the scene and shot a police officer with his revolver. Many people have the right to
blame Oswald but in my mind there were two shooters. In this essay I will explain why I believe this
and help support my theory. To explain the way Kennedy was shot we have to do some brief medical
background. Kennedy had a bad back which meant that he couldn t sit ... Show more content on

This is where people would disbelieve because they would think that it would hit someone in the
crowd. However there is a report in which a police motorcycle s windshield was cracked. The bullet
could have shot Kennedy and then hit the windshield. Our skulls are relativity dense making the bullet
slow down possibly tumbling afterwards and hit the windshield, and bounce off and land somewhere
where no one would have found it. I believe this because we caught Oswald and everyone knew he
was the killer. They probably didn t take a closer look of their surroundings. Instead they looked from
Oswald s point of view and based the Warren Commission of that evidence. Now let s take a look at
the prime suspect in jail and who killed him. Jack Ruby was the guy who killed Oswald while he was
being transferred to another jail. He weaved his way up front of the crowd and shot Oswald with his
.38 Caliber revolver. Police then arrested Jack right there and put him in jail. Let s look back on what
Jack was formerly and why I think he killed Oswald. First of all Jack was part of the U.S Air Force
when he was younger (Biography). So Jack Ruby could have been in the same base as Oswald and
heard about Communism from Oswald. Later after not seeing any action in war he was discharge from
the army. He then later became an owner of many clubs in

1950 1953. It has also been called the forgotten war, as people do not recognize it like the Second

My grandfather lived outside in a foxhole for two years. He stated that the winters were extremely
cold. Many soldiers were killed or severely injured. There was a lack of food and cold weather gear.
Consequently, the draft was enacted when the Korean War began. The response fell short. It was
during this time that women were asked to serve their country in time of need. The Army Nurse Corps
responded to the call. The Army Nurse Corps is an organization that provides health care for military
personnel, their families and also retirees. One of these brave nurses was named Anna Mae Hays. She
served in a hospital unit during World War II. Once the war broke out in Korea, she organized the 4th

25,000 patients during the next ten months, one night receiving 700 wounded men. On June 11, 1970

Analysis Of Signs Preceding The End Of The World
Signs Preceding the End of the World Signs Preceding the End of the World is an insider s look at the
mind and journey of an illegal immigrant. A Mexican young woman crossing the border story is what
challenges the ethics of readers. The main character in Signs Preceding the End of the World is
Makina. Makina is in charge of a small Mexican town s telephone. A reliable, messenger, she knows
how to keep a secret and when to keep her mouth shut. She is dangerous when threatened, quick to
defend herself against lecherous fools, and unafraid of speaking truth to power (Long). Makina is just
like an ordinary person. She is no different from an average American. Makina has a job and harmless
when not threatened. Americans act as if immigrants are so beneath them. Immigrants are hard
workers, just like Americans. Immigrants want better lives for themselves and their families, just like
Americans. Americans and immigrants are not the only ones who want these things. People all around
the world want what is best for everyone they know. Most people will do whatever it takes to get to
what they need; even if it is in life threatening conditions. Signs Preceding the End of the World
challenges our ethics by placing the reader in the mind of an illegal immigrant, allowing the reader to
know the true feelings and experience of the immigrant. The reader s ethics are first challenged when
Makina began her journey; when the reader finds out that Makina needs to find her brother that has

The simple answer to this question is no. However, many situations, history, and aspects, acts and
laws, need to be taken into consideration to have a full understanding of what the government has
done and has not done to help the indigenous people in Canada. It must also be noted that many of the
things the government implemented to help, actually backfired and caused more harm than good. The

tend to praise those who serve, but living a life centered on serving others is difficult. I decided to
implement the virtue of compassion this week. I decided to change the person I have control of, me. I

Canada s New Laws Regarding Doctor Assisted Suicide
According to the Criminal Code of Canada, physician assisted suicide is illegal in Canada. However,
due to the changing minds of Canadians and their values over a course of time, Canada created new
laws that directed the act of assisted suicide by a physician. However, it is an ongoing debate whether
these laws are problematic or beneficial. Canada s new laws regarding doctor assisted suicide are
effective because patients can die with dignity, there are benefits to the healthcare system and there
will be less emotional turmoil for patients and their families. To begin, patients can die with dignity.
Dying with dignity is the philosophical concept that a terminally ill individual should be allowed to
die naturally and comfortably instead of experiencing a life of deep unconsciousness prolonged by
mechanical support systems. (Death with Dignity) In 1993, Sue Rodriguez, a sufferer of ALS,
believed that the time and manner of her death should not be determined by her illness or by the law.
She expressed that it should be legal for a physician to end her life for her at a time she has chosen.
(Fenton) Rodriguez took her case to the Supreme Court of British Columbia, she argued that Section
241(b) of the Criminal Code, everyone who aids or abets a person in committing suicide commits an
indictable offence, violates her rights in the Charter under Section 7, that everyone has the right to life,
liberty, and security, 12, that everyone has the right not to be subjected to any

Collier support this by stating that development should deal with four aspects: the conflict, the natural
resources, the trap of being landlocked with bad neighbors, and the trap of bad governance in a small
country (Collier 2007, p.5).These issues can be obstacles to development because all of those aspects
are interconnected to each others. Economists and policy makers, especially the World Bank should be
acknowledged that different countries have different characteristics. Their one formula might bring
about different results. For instance, development experts adopted development policies from
successful countries such as the East Asian tigers to apply in Africa but it still fails to achieve
development ( Easterly 2007, p.328 ). For these reasons, development experts should consider other
aspects before applying their masterful policies to develop poor countries. Individual success stories
might become tomorrow s failures. Second, the author concludes that economic growth without
development assistance is generally involved in homegrown movement. With this statement, the
author seems to indicate the homegrown strategy as a potential for effective development in poor
countries. Rodrik (2001, p.45) maintains that economic development ultimately derives from a home
grown strategy, and not from the world market... . It can be said that his argument is reasonable.

Louisian A Compilation Of French And Spanish Culture
Louisiana is a compilation of French and Spanish cultures that merged with American ways of life to
create a state filled with rich history and potential. Founded in the early 1700s by European explorers,
Louisiana was viewed as a gold mine for traders who planned to take advantage of the state s
geographical closeness to the Mississippi River . The land of Louisiana is home to very diverse culture
clusters of people. These culture clusters include original Indian inhabitants, plus the descendants of a
variety of settlers, among whom were the French, Spanish, English, German, Acadians, West Indians,
Africans, Irish and Italians and now include almost every nationality on earth. The diversity of people,
languages, and cultures in Louisiana gives the state a southern uniqueness. Constitution of Louisiana
Early French and Spanish settlers influenced the legal system in Louisiana. The state constitution has
been amended nine times, with it last being modified in 1974. Like the constitution of the nation, the
Louisiana constitution includes a bill of rights and amendments that cater to a specific type of people
within this respective state. The French influence over government can explain why districts in
Louisiana are called parishes, which are simply territorial divisions of land that are equivalent to a
county within a state. There are currently 64 parishes in Louisiana. Within each parish there is: a
judicial system, a mayor, a board of education, and a varied

High on Health Group Work Assignment Essay
Since the formation of group 4 (High on Health), we have established that we would meet every
Tuesday at 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the library. There was a mutual agreement that I would book the
rooms and email the confirmation Monday or Tuesday nights for a room in Martin Luther Kind Jr
Library. On the very first day, we got together in class, and exchanged email addresses and numbers.
We wanted to be able to communicate outside the classroom not just in the classroom. On our first
meeting, we introduced ourselves and from there, we learn a bit about each other s cultures. We all
come from very different backgrounds, we talked about our culture, and how far along we are in our
degrees. We also took the time to get to know each other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, performing is the last topic in Tuckman s group formation; we are currently working on
collaborating our ideas into a presentation for our final group project. As for now, we are very
cooperative in working together to make it a very interesting and fun topic of choice because we feel
that there needs to be more studies out there. We split up the roles, and decided it would be best if we
include and spoke about parts of the research we did because some of us are more knowledgeable in
certain areas, as it is part of what we study. While for others, it s a topic of choice because it is
trending. As a group, we are working really well in getting together and putting our ideas out onto the
presentation because it is a topic we enjoy and a topic that is not spoken about, but is very popular in
our generation. Therefore, we have established certain criteria that we need to follow. The criteria
being that everyone understand the goals of our final presentation (ch11, pg 273). We decided together
that we want everyone to learn more about MDMA, and how we will assess that is by a game at the
end of the presentation (ch11, pg 273). We thought this solution to our objective would be effective
because it is entertaining and enjoyable. Before we thought about coming up with a game, we thought
about making a quiz at the beginning and end to assess the knowledge of our classmates, but decided
otherwise (ch 11, pg 274), we listed our the solutions in a pros

Essay On Paul In Bloor s Coming To Tangerine
Coming to Tangerine Middle was quite the ride for Paul. Paul was able to see how the Tangerine
students are really like to compare to the dirty image that they have on them. First of all, transferring
to this school has made Paul develop confidence in himself to speak the truth, which builds up a
strong relationship with his teammates. Yet Paul still can t get over his main fear, Erik. Although it
may look like Paul grew an enormous amount, mentally in the novel, he still has a long way to go in
order to face Erik. At the end of Part 2, Edward Bloor expresses Paul s growth, emotionally in a strong
way. Paul has constructed more self confidence to speak the truth compared to his antecedent self.
When Paul first meets Tino, Victor and Hernando, on page 108 he states My stomach started to knot
again. This reveals that Paul is obviously terrified of them because he s the reason for their
suspension. In Paul s mind, if he tells the truth they will tear him apart in millions of pieces, which
makes Paul refuse to speak the truth. Later, Paul finally had the courage to admit that he was the one
who ratted them out, however Tino reacted surprisingly calm about it. Paul realizes that they are
actually really great people, once you get to know them. After Paul took the truth off of his chest, their

Erik is the most perfect child, you could ever have, but Paul sees something else. He sees the truth,
that the whole community is oblivious about. On page 168, it states I ve been always afraid of Erik.
Paul sees this frightening predator ready to devouring him. According to page 113, Erik and Arthur
have been teasing Joey about his brother s death. Paul was angered by it, however he just ignored their
comment. This reveals that although they may have survived the sinkhole, Paul has no interest on
arguing with Erik because he still fears his own

Were Watching God Figurative Language
In William Shakespeare s The Tempest, A storm is responsible for creating an epoch in Prospero s life.
Likewise, the hurricane in Zora Neale Hurston s Their Eyes Were Watching God also represents a
watershed in Janie s life. Both Shakespeare and Hurston use the storm to symbolize creation and
regeneration among their protagonists. Hurston, however, uses figurative language to enhance features
of the storm, creating a mood for the reader. Hurston uses imagery and personifications to establish
varying moods throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God.
For example, Hurston s use of imagery helps to establish the varying moods within the novel. While
beginning to tell her story to Phoeby, Janie describes the growth of the pear tree that she grows fond of
throughout her childhood: From barren brown stems to glistening leaf buds; from the leaf buds to
snowy virginity of bloom (Hurston 10). Janie tells how the pear tree from a mundane tree to one
blooming with excitement. This also follows Janie s path from childhood to womanhood. The imagery
of the pear tree presents a serene mood the follow along the plot of the novel for some time. Word
choice such as glistening and snowy creates a peaceful situation in which suits Janie s childhood.
Later in her adult life, Janie becomes attracted to Tea Cake to the point where she can t bear to be
without him: He did not return that night nor the next, and so she plunged into the ... Show more

The author uses these types of figurative language to emphasize the importance of many key aspects
in character and plot development. Shakespeare, who writes more formally than Hurston, uses
imagery in the same way. They both use imagery in a storm scene, using it representing a change in
mood. Both writing styles share common characteristics, proving how figurative language can affect

Milpa Agriculture Research Paper
Mayan civilization underwent massive developments in agriculture and within their society.
According to historian Sylvanus Griswold Morley, Maya Maize agricultural practices have remained
the same as they were over three thousand years ago. (Morley 128) A uncomplicated process of felling
the forest, burning dried trees and bushes, planting, and switching up the spots of the cornfields every
few years. This system is known as the milpa agriculture, pulled from the Aztec word for cornfield.
Agricultural tools were fire hardened, the Maya xul, a pointed planting stick, the baat, a stone axe,
chim, a fiber bag for carrying the seed corn. At first, they used sticks to punch holes into the ground,
but progressively obtained more advanced farming techniques. Their main crops they grew were
maize (corn), beans, squash, avocados, chili peppers, pineapples, papayas, and cocoa, which was used

Maya milpa agriculture can be separated into eleven different stages: locating the field, the selection
of a plot of ground for the cornfield is a crucial step. The milpero, or corn farmer, spends a whole day
observantly searching for the precise type of soil. (Morley 129) Felling the forest and bushes, the
milpero starts to fell the bush after sunrise has occurred and would continue until early afternoon.
Felling the trees and bushes would consume a lengthy period of time and energy. (Morley 131)
Burning the dried bushes, the felled bush would normally be burned in March or April, after the hot
days of February and March have passed. The cornfield is set ablaze when the wind is blowing strong
enough, in order to thoroughly burn the cornfield. (Morley 132) Fencing the field was not required in
ancient Mayan times because the domestication of animals had not happened. Planting the field,
planting would occur right after the first rains, which the Maya believed it would fall on the Day of

The Role Of Richard III And The Disappearance Of The...
Historians have disagreed about the role of Richard III in the disappearance of the Princes in the
tower. Why has history judged Richard to be guilty of their murder?
Introduction
In 1483, the Yorkist king, Edward IV, died suddenly, leaving his young son Edward V to inherit the
throne. The late king s brother, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, was made Lord Protector of England
until Edward s coronation and majority, and as was the standard procedure at the time, the new king
and his brother Richard, Duke of York were taken into the Tower of London to await the coronation.
During this time, however, the marriage of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville was declared
illegitimate, along with their children. This meant Edward could no longer inherit the throne, and
Richard and Anne Neville were instead crowned. After the Princes were declared illegitimate, it is
claimed they were never seen again. Since then, historians have disagreed about the role of Richard III
in their disappearance, with the majority claiming only Richard could have done it. Other historians
have produced differing theories, with the most improbable being that Henry VII found the Princes
alive after his victory at Bosworth, and others claiming the Princes had never been killed at all.
Despite these other theories, history has judged Richard to be guilty of the young Princes murder,
mostly due to purely circumstantial evidence, as only a few records of the events survive, and those
that do are mainly biased being

Tissues and Cell Structures
Tissues are groupings of cells with similar functions. There are four main kinds of human tissues:
Muscle Tissue
Muscular tissue is made up of cells that have sliding protein (actin, a globular protein, and myosin)
filaments. As these filaments slide over each other, they cause the cell to contract. Cells are arranged
in cables within cables, twined around each other, so that when a muscle contracts, it is actually
millions of cells contracting synchronously. There are three types of muscle tissue; cardiac muscle that
operates in the heart; skeletal muscle which is used for locomotion (among other functions) and is
found all over the body; and smooth muscle which is found in a variety of organs (such as the stomach
and bladder) and in blood vessels. Smooth muscle also causes our hair to stand on end.
Nervous Tissue
Nervous tissue makes up the brain and nervous system. It is used to transmit information around the
body for a huge variety of tasks (for example, controlling muscles). Apart from in the brain, it is also
found in the spine and in sensory organs such as the eyes. It is made up of cells called neurons which
transmit electric chemical signals around the body and centrally to the brain. For example, when we
feel pain in our finger, it is caused by sensory input to the nerve cells in the finger, which transmit an
electric impulse to the brain. The brain then translates this impulse into what we call pain.
Epithelial Tissue
Epithelial tissue, among other things,

If they refuse to do what the Germans tell them to do, they ll just kill them. Many Jews died by murder, starvation, or living with diseases living in camps. He survived in camps for 10 months, and was known as greatest author and a survivor, throughout his life experiences. For all what Levi had gone through must be the scariest experience. It started off from Levi s life how he was pursuing his career as a Chemist, then all of the sudden, Germans just had to take over Italy and capture many Jews as possible to either send them to camps or get rid of their life. It is unbelievable to think about before time of Holocaust, Germans and all only do is just kill people, force them to do things they really don t deserve to do like working in factories. It is also unbelievable that Germans who are in charge of looking after the Jews, they treat them like animals, not human being. Hardly any food for them to eat, forced them to work, everyone looked the same by having their heads shaved and getting their arms tattooed with code numbers. Just reading through Levi s partial life experience living in Auschwitz, is just incredible how he manages to remember the worst times he had seen and done. I hung out with the girls who listened to k pop, watched anime, and loved alternative music more than life. I had popular friends, but they only spoke to me, when their other friends were not around. I was typically a person who takes humiliation to heart, took way too many jokes seriously. Most of the time it was because they were black jokes, which I didn t think were funny. People have told me No you re black. or Why are you here? Africa misses you! You look like Lil Wayne. I never did anything about it and people kept doing it. Everytime someone judged me for being african american, my self esteem took a deep dive. But 2015, was the year, the most embarrassing thing ever happened, and more than once. It was May, the last month of 8th grade year, and I was more than ecstatic to get out of what felt like jail. I went to school wearing my floral shirt, light wash jeans, and black converse. I contentedly walked out my house, in 70 degree weather. After about 7 minutes, I was on the Signal Ditch Trail to school. I got to school at 8:15 and the day got off to a great start. Analysis of Bruce Dawe s Anti-War Poem, Homecoming Essay An anti war poem inspired by the events of the Vietnam War, Homecoming inspires us to think about the victims of the war: not only the soldiers who suffered but also the mortuary workers tagging the bodies and the families of those who died in the fighting. The author, Australian poet Bruce Dawe, wrote the poem in response to a news article describing how, at Californian Oaklands Air /Base, at one end of the airport families were farewelling their sons as they left for Vietnam and at the other end the bodies of dead soldiers were being brought home. Additionally, he wrote in response to a photograph, publishes in Newsweek, of American tanks (termed Grants in the poem) piled with the bodies of the dead soldiers as they returned to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These sections allow for a change in emotion as each represents a separate part of the homecoming : Saigon describes the packaging of the bodies and how the soldiers are zipped up in green plastic bags; the flight represents the travel home, which metaphorically could also be their souls to heaven; and the third section is the arrival of the bodies in Australia. The use of pronouns gives the first two sections an emotionless feel as we do not learn specific names or information about the victims. However, when the scene changes to urban Australia in the final section the emotion changes to grief and regret for the families. The emotion of the speaker is indicated by signature language, the poet describing how telegrams tremble like leaves from a wintering tree and small towns where dogs in the frozen sunset raise muzzles in mute salute . Comparing the telegrams fluttering to the ground to leaves falling from a tree in winter reinforces our assumption of the tragic news contained within the telegrams: the wintering tree is clearly a metaphor for death and hence we know that enclosed within the telegrams is notification of the soldiers demise. Equally moving is the reference to man s best friend mourning its loss, the poet describing how the dogs respectfully acknowledge the precious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Society has cemented views of women and what they should look and act like based on things like makeup, body figure, clothing, etc. Women from all places are urged to alter their appearances in order to fall into the category of beautiful. The impulse for women to paint their face is due to the fear of other people not seeing them as attractive (Warren par. 7). The baby dolls allude to the stigma that all women are expected to have children and be the main care giver to them throughout their childhood. Stay at home mothers were extremely common during the time Barbie Doll was written, and second wave feminism was just a fresh idea that would soon begin to change the discrimination of gender in the work force. This idea is linked to the GE stoves reference, portraying how women s only importance was to stay home and cook for the men in the family, spending their time in between tiding the house throughout the day. Andrei Cimpian, a psychology professor at New York University, states in an article by the National Science Foundation that Not only do we see that girls just starting out in school are absorbing some of society s stereotyped notions of brilliance, but these young girls are also choosing activities based on these stereotypes. This is heartbreaking (Margetta). The stereotype of brilliance that Cimpian mentions is the fact that most young girls believe that boys will always be the smarter gender and will always outdo females in raw brainpower due to the negative stereotypes that float around in society (Margetta). The reputation of this fact is only shaming girls to end up as a stay at home mom, and not even give the effort to reach for their aspirations (Margetta). Piercy s last item stated was ... • 12. Narcissism Research Paper Introduction In this current society, an increasing number of people discuss one controversial debate everywhere: Are younger adults more narcissistic than previous people? In fact, when people select one side of this debate, they are supposed to know two essential questions: what is truly meaning about narcissism? How does this debate originate from? In general, Narcissism, originated from the Greek mythology, is used to describe the action or habit of someone s self complacence. Surprisingly, it has a totally different explanation in psychology. As Jean M. Twenge (2006) mentioned in her article named On Army of one: Me, Narcissism is one of the few personality traits that psychologists agree is almost completely negative. Narcissists are overly focused on themselves and lack empathy for others, which means they cannot see another person s perspective (para. 22). Role Of The Power Industry And The Services It Provides Essay The main goal of DTL Power s cybersecurity strategy is maintaining data integrity and availability of resources while ensuring that all systems and facilities exceed the industry standards. This strategy is critically important due to the nature of the power industry and the services it provides. The implementation of the controls falls in line with the cybersecurity strategy designated by leadership. The hacktivist and virus attack were able to successfully penetrate our system causing downtime and affecting system integrity. Cyberattacks are becoming more frequent and evasive therefore it is imperative that strong security measures be enforced to not only secure network resources but to prevent unauthorized access. In order to prevent unauthorized access to DTL Power s data, the cybersecurity team has selected strict filtering controls to secure the firewall with the strictest configurations to better control traffic traversing the network and disabling all unnecessary open ports. A firewall with strict filtering rules detects intrusions and prevents unauthorized access by policing the traffic and access requests to the firewall. By disabling firewall ports that are not necessary for normal communication, attack opportunities are greatly reduced. Devices use specific ports for communicating so it is important to conduct a thorough inquiry into which ports need to remain open. We all were going to move to Japan on the island of Okinawa. I don t know why we took a 15 day cruise to an island over 1,000 miles away. We were told to pack everything our hats, pets, sun block, money, phones, and even leaf blowers. Day 2: For some reason we hit an under sea volcano at full speed. and were told to stay close and raid the buffet. Next with our mouths full and our bags packed we grabbed our pets and jumped on a lifeboat. We were first to leave and we got further than anybody else. That night we heard a creaking noise under water. It turns out to be a Sperm Whale then it jumped up and ate everybody else. Day 3: Then drifting with a year s supply of food, we were told to stay positive and play DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS WHOOOOOOOOOO! I of course was a Cleric and my siblings chose pre made player cards. Day 20: We ran out of food, so we started fishing and we caught a mahi mahi also known as a dolphin. My father was the strongest of us all so he was the person who was fishing. • 20. Rhetorical Analysis Of General Macarthur s Speech Duty,... Soldiers should live Duty, Honor, Country, but what does that entail? The speech given in 1962 to the young cadets at Westpoint was an influential piece still referred to today. In General MacArthur s address Duty, Honor, Country Address at West Point, I will identify the rhetorical devices, persuasive appeals, perspective, and tone used, as well as the impact those devices have on the meaning of this speech. First, in this speech, there are no rhetorical questions given. Although, General MacArthur s speech contains parallelism in ideas. For example, he includes you stand as the Nation s war guardians, as its lifeguards from the raging tides of international conflict, as its gladiators in the arena of battle, he shows that the cadets have many risks they sacrifice for their country. All of the people he compares are protecting someone. Using parallelism in ideas makes his speech impactful by being able to find a common theme throughout and a sense to revisit while in the gloomy battlefields of war. The parallelism in structure used in his address is We are reaching out for a new and boundless frontier. We speak in strange terms: of harnessing the cosmic energy; of making winds and tides work for us; of creating unheard synthetic materials to supplement or even replace our old standard basics; of purifying sea water for our drink; of mining ocean floors for new fields of wealth and food; of disease preventatives to expand life into the hundreds of years; of ... • 25. Hamlet And Ophelia In Shakespeare s Hamlet In the Shakespeare play hamlet, Hamlet tries to hide a lot of emotions. In the play hamlet and ophelia are said to be in love or that Ophelia loves hamlet. Although people believe they are in love, Hamlet does not really act like he does love her. In the play, Hamlet has an unknown relationship with ophelia that could be fake; But there could be some reasoning behind the relationship and why he would be using her. Throughout the play Hamlet does not treat Ophelia well and sometimes even insults her. He had said many times Get thee to a nunnery (III.I). He would often say this throughout this conversation as another way to make her feel bad. That he was trying to hurt but still look as if he loved her to others. Also later when Ophelia talks about what happened she said He took me by the wrist and held me hard (II.I). That in the conversation between hamlet and Ophelia when Hamlet was not verbally hurting her, he would sometimes get physical. Hamlet would often use this as a way to show how insane he was getting. Also when Ophelia was talking to Polonius she said And thrice his head thus waving up and down (II.I). This is another example of when Hamlet do things to make himself seem more insane. Also he is using Ophelia again as a way to spread about himself that he wants. So Hamlet would verbally and sometimes physically hurt her to get her to do what he wants. Hamlet had felt that he would have a better connection to the people around him if he was with Ophelia. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fear In The Outliers By George Orwell Fear s tendencies are much akin to that of a parasitic worm; forever burrowing with hunger insatiable, altering and manipulating its host if given dominion. Fear did not fall unknown to him, for he shared familiarity as one would with an age old friend, sans camaraderie. Did it guide him? Perhaps, but within a world devoured by illness, where wolves lay with sheep, sometimes a touch of paranoia interwoven with persistent foreboding kept you from the yawning endless maw of death itself. Furthermore, in the outliers, there slinked more than the diseased to dread. • 29. The Most Convincing Justification for Private Property The most convincing justification for private property provided by Ziff is that of economic efficiency. Private property incentivises innovation, lowers the cost of dealing with externalities, and with moderation, reduces the susceptibility of property to the tragedy of the commons. Economic efficiency holds particular weight because of the significant amount of today s societies that rely on a market based system to conduct business, trade and commerce. This system lists private property as one of its founding tenets and therefore heightens the justification s persuasiveness. It is not suggested that a fully privatised property regime would be ideal either, but a mixture of both private property and communal property is seen as the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To the contrary Ziff argues that the cost of policing would also be more expensive under a private property regime as the creation of boundaries would add costs that would not have otherwise have existed. Conversely Grafton suggests that the cost of boundary erection is merely temporary, as after the initial set up of boundaries, cost of negotiations and policing are comparatively reduced. Communal property rights contrast this; as they hold long term economic costs to the interest owners as negotiation costs will continue to increase exponentially, as policing costs are not one off, and negotiation costs are comparatively higher . It is therefore evident that private property provides the most economically efficient method of dealing with externalities in the short run and the long run, as costs and reaction time are rapidly reduced. Ziff also argues that the over distribution of private property may result in myopic view of externalities, as each land owner would only care for their own property and not about the needs of the wider community affected by externalities created by their land. This short term view, is an inherent downfall of private property, but society has developed means and ways in which these costs can be met, for example through regulatory authorities, and it is therefore argued that a fully privatise property regime would not be preferable but a partly common and partly private alternative, as ... I believe this because we caught Oswald and everyone knew he was the killer. They probably didn t take a closer look of their surroundings. However, due to the changing minds of Canadians and their values over a course of time, Canada created new laws that directed the act of assisted suicide by a physician. Canada s new laws regarding doctor assisted suicide are effective because patients can die with dignity, there are benefits to the healthcare system and there will be less emotional turmoil for patients and their families. Collier support this by stating that development should deal with four aspects: the conflict, the natural resources, the trap of being landlocked with bad neighbors, and the trap of bad governance in a small country (Collier 2007, p.5).These issues can be obstacles to development because all of those aspects are interconnected to each others. Economists and policy makers, especially the World Bank should be acknowledged that different countries have different characteristics. Their one formula might bring about different results. For instance, development experts adopted development policies from successful countries such as the East Asian tigers to apply in Africa but it still fails to achieve development ( Easterly 2007, p.328 ). For these reasons, development experts should consider other aspects before applying their masterful policies to develop poor countries. Individual success stories might become tomorrow s failures. Second, the author concludes that economic growth without development assistance is generally involved in homegrown movement. With this statement, the author seems to indicate the homegrown strategy as a potential for effective development in poor countries. Rodrik (2001, p.45) maintains that economic development ultimately derives from a home grown strategy, and not from the world market... . It can be said that his argument is reasonable. • 45. Louisian A Compilation Of French And Spanish Culture Louisiana is a compilation of French and Spanish cultures that merged with American ways of life to create a state filled with rich history and potential. Founded in the early 1700s by European explorers, Louisiana was viewed as a gold mine for traders who planned to take advantage of the state s geographical closeness to the Mississippi River . The land of Louisiana is home to very diverse culture clusters of people. These culture clusters include original Indian inhabitants, plus the descendants of a variety of settlers, among whom were the French, Spanish, English, German, Acadians, West Indians, Africans, Irish and Italians and now include almost every nationality on earth. The diversity of people, languages, and cultures in Louisiana gives the state a southern uniqueness. Constitution of Louisiana Early French and Spanish settlers influenced the legal system in Louisiana. The state constitution has been amended nine times, with it last being modified in 1974. Like the constitution of the nation, the Louisiana constitution includes a bill of rights and amendments that cater to a specific type of people within this respective state. The French influence over government can explain why districts in Louisiana are called parishes, which are simply territorial divisions of land that are equivalent to a county within a state. There are currently 64 parishes in Louisiana. Within each parish there is: a judicial system, a mayor, a board of education, and a varied ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There was a mutual agreement that I would book the rooms and email the confirmation Monday or Tuesday nights for a room in Martin Luther Kind Jr Library. On the very first day, we got together in class, and exchanged email addresses and numbers. We wanted to be able to communicate outside the classroom not just in the classroom. On our first meeting, we introduced ourselves and from there, we learn a bit about each other s cultures. We all come from very different backgrounds, we talked about our culture, and how far along we are in our degrees. We also took the time to get to know each other ... Finally, performing is the last topic in Tuckman s group formation; we are currently working on collaborating our ideas into a presentation for our final group project. As for now, we are very cooperative in working together to make it a very interesting and fun topic of choice because we feel that there needs to be more studies out there. We split up the roles, and decided it would be best if we include and spoke about parts of the research we did because some of us are more knowledgeable in certain areas, as it is part of what we study. While for others, it s a topic of choice because it is trending. As a group, we are working really well in getting together and putting our ideas out onto the presentation because it is a topic we enjoy and a topic that is not spoken about, but is very popular in our generation. Therefore, we have established certain criteria that we need to follow. The criteria being that everyone understand the goals of our final presentation (ch11, pg 273). We decided together that we want everyone to learn more about MDMA, and how we will assess that is by a game at the end of the presentation (ch11, pg 273). We thought this solution to our objective would be effective because it is entertaining and enjoyable. Before we thought about coming up with a game, we thought about making a quiz at the beginning and end to assess the knowledge of our classmates, but decided otherwise (ch 11, pg 274), we listed our the solutions in a pros ... This reveals that Paul is obviously terrified of them because he s the reason for their suspension. • 48. Were Watching God Figurative Language In William Shakespeare s The Tempest, A storm is responsible for creating an epoch in Prospero s life. Likewise, the hurricane in Zora Neale Hurston s Their Eyes Were Watching God also represents a watershed in Janie s life. Both Shakespeare and Hurston use the storm to symbolize creation and regeneration among their protagonists. Hurston, however, uses figurative language to enhance features of the storm, creating a mood for the reader. Hurston uses imagery and personifications to establish varying moods throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God. For example, Hurston s use of imagery helps to establish the varying moods within the novel. While beginning to tell her story to Phoeby, Janie describes the growth of the pear tree that she grows fond of throughout her childhood: From barren brown stems to glistening leaf buds; from the leaf buds to snowy virginity of bloom (Hurston 10). Janie tells how the pear tree from a mundane tree to one blooming with excitement. This also follows Janie s path from childhood to womanhood. The imagery of the pear tree presents a serene mood the follow along the plot of the novel for some time. Word choice such as glistening and snowy creates a peaceful situation in which suits Janie s childhood. • 50. The Role Of Richard III And The Disappearance Of The... Historians have disagreed about the role of Richard III in the disappearance of the Princes in the tower. Why has history judged Richard to be guilty of their murder? Introduction In 1483, the Yorkist king, Edward IV, died suddenly, leaving his young son Edward V to inherit the throne. The late king s brother, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, was made Lord Protector of England until Edward s coronation and majority, and as was the standard procedure at the time, the new king and his brother Richard, Duke of York were taken into the Tower of London to await the coronation. During this time, however, the marriage of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville was declared illegitimate, along with their children. This meant Edward could no longer inherit the throne, and Richard and Anne Neville were instead crowned. After the Princes were declared illegitimate, it is claimed they were never seen again. Since then, historians have disagreed about the role of Richard III in their disappearance, with the majority claiming only Richard could have done it. Other historians have produced differing theories, with the most improbable being that Henry VII found the Princes alive after his victory at Bosworth, and others claiming the Princes had never been killed at all. Despite these other theories, history has judged Richard to be guilty of the young Princes murder, mostly due to purely circumstantial evidence, as only a few records of the events survive, and those that do are mainly biased being ... • 51. Tissues and Cell Structures Tissues are groupings of cells with similar functions. There are four main kinds of human tissues: Muscle Tissue Muscular tissue is made up of cells that have sliding protein (actin, a globular protein, and myosin) filaments. As these filaments slide over each other, they cause the cell to contract. Cells are arranged in cables within cables, twined around each other, so that when a muscle contracts, it is actually millions of cells contracting synchronously. There are three types of muscle tissue; cardiac muscle that operates in the heart; skeletal muscle which is used for locomotion (among other functions) and is found all over the body; and smooth muscle which is found in a variety of organs (such as the stomach and bladder) and in blood vessels. Smooth muscle also causes our hair to stand on end. Nervous Tissue Nervous tissue makes up the brain and nervous system. It is used to transmit information around the body for a huge variety of tasks (for example, controlling muscles). Apart from in the brain, it is also found in the spine and in sensory organs such as the eyes. It is made up of cells called neurons which transmit electric chemical signals around the body and centrally to the brain. For example, when we feel pain in our finger, it is caused by sensory input to the nerve cells in the finger, which transmit an electric impulse to the brain. The brain then translates this impulse into what we call pain. Epithelial Tissue Epithelial tissue, among other things, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
