Exhibitionistic Disorder Research Paper
Most people who suffer from Exhibitionistic Disorder do not seek treatment on their own even after
conviction. Exhibitionists will seek treatment because a judge enforces that they do so to prevent jail
time or more serious consequences. Reasons why exhibitionists do not seek treatment on their own is
because they are addicted to the arousal received when they expose themselves and because they are
too embarrassed of their loved ones finding out. There is a various amount of treatments for
exhibitionists. Therapies are a very common form of treatment for exhibitionists. There is different
type of therapies to treat this disorder. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a very common and effective
therapy used for exhibitionists. This therapy consists of changing the thoughts and behavior or the
exhibitionist to decrease thoughts and acts of exposing his/her intimate body parts. Another type of
therapy that is used to treat Exhibitionistic Disorder is Aversion Therapy. Aversion Therapy is a form
of behavior therapy that uses classical conditioning in which an adverse stimulus is combined with ...

Ways to decrease the diagnosis of paraphilias is to fund programs that offer treatment on disorders
such as Pedophilia, Exhibitionism, Voyeurism, and other dangerous disorders. Exhibitionists are very
unpredictable due to their biological state of being. Exhibitionists operate on uncontrollable impulses
and work [from] uncontrollable impulses (Indecent Exposure: Exhibitionism par: 15). Exhibitionists
have the highest recidivism rate of all paraphilias and it is important that this gets taken into account
to prevent these situations in society (Exhibitionism par: 29). Whenever encountered in situations like
these it is important to ignore the exhibitionist at the moment and report the case to officials as soon as

The Contribution of American Women to the Abolitionist...
The Abolitionist Movement changed the course of the nation. In addition to the eventual emancipation
of slaves, it transformed the role of women in American History. During the Abolitionist Movement, it
was thought that the duties of women were confined within the home (Boylan 363). While most
women of the time agreed with this statement, there were many who did not. This change of attitude
started during the Great Awakening (Baker 623). Eliza Wilkinson wrote, I won t have it thought that
because we are the weaker sex as to bodily strength we are capable of nothing more than domestic
concerns (Goldfield, et al. 171). During this time, society was against women leaving the home. Many
of the men who were against slavery were also opposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A racially integrated group of women formed the Boston Female Anti Slavery Society in October of
1833. This was uncommon for the time period. The society was made up of three different social
classes of women, which caused conflict of interest within the society. The different classes were
white, upper class women, white, middle class women, and elite black women. The upper class though
that the middle class were restricting the ideas of the society, while the middle class thought the
aggressive techniques of the upper class women was atrocious (Hansen 46). Upper class white women
used men s tactics like political protest and public action to spread their cause, while middle class
women used church based techniques, while focusing towards the needs of women and children
(Hansen 63).The elite black women were less interested in policy issues and instead advocated
programs that would provide direct care to the black community (Hansen 46). Slavery was thought of
as a sin by many people, causing many women to leave the church over this disagreement (Petrulionis
389). Many of these women in Boston formed the Anti Slavery Society, which became one of the
nation s biggest and most influential. To wash away the sin of slavery, it was customary for a minister
s wife to be the first president of the Boston Anti Slavery Society; Charlotte Phelps was the first to fill
this position (Hansen 47). Her

Set In The Antebellum South, Mark Twain’S Adventures Of
Set in the Antebellum South, Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn documents a landscape
that differs greatly from the poised and picturesque scene associated with the contemporary South.
Today s South is synonymous with with ice cold pitchers of tea, ceaseless etiquette exuded on
wraparound porches, and seemingly romantic drawls. However, the South that Huck resides in, tells a
different story. Specifically, his South is a place where suitable behavior is associated with the
acceptance of slavery, and racist slurs pepper every sentence. As a result, any deviation from these
behaviors leaves an individual ironically branded with a connotation of being uncivilized. Due to this
distorted view of ethics, any character with even a shred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurrence exhibits Huck s lack of moral fiber, and serves as an excellent basis for him to
develop an experience of human goodness (Nichols).
As evidenced in the introductory instances regarding death, Huck s morality is defective and his
sympathy is missing. Perhaps, Huck s flaws are due to his close contact with the iconic delinquent
Tom Sawyer, who is likely corroding Huck s ethics. Consequently, when Huck bonds with his new
partner in crime, Jim, a stark juxtaposition is evidenced between the ideals of Tom and Jim. However,
luckily youth is a time of greater potential for change than any other stage of life , and Jim s positive
influence proves beneficial (Trites 53) . Specifically, Jim is extraordinarily superstitious and attaches a
copious amount of meaning to just about everything, even a measly snake skin (Twain 162). Of
course, this means that Jim does not completely disregard the significance of death and importance of
sympathy, as Tom and his mischievous mates do. Consequently, Jim has proven himself as a morally
admirable figure (Bollinger). As a result, after prolonged exposure to Jim, Huck starts to exude more
concern for the life of others, as evidenced in quite a few scenarios that take place on his and Jim s
journey.
One example occurs within the thirteenth chapter of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, when Huck
is aboard a sinking

Hassan Sabbah s Influence On The World
Hassan Sabbah was born and raised in the city of Qom, Iran in the 1050s to a family of Twelver Shia.
Early in his life, his family moved to Rey, South Khorasan in the district of Tehran. Rey was a city
that had a history of radical thought since the 9th century. It was in this center of religious hub that
Hassan developed a keen interest in metaphysical matters and live by the Twelver code of instruction.
From the age of 7 to 17, he studied at home, and mastered palmistry, languages, philosophy,
astronomy and mathematics.
Rey was also home to the activities of Ismaili missionaries in the territory of Jibal located in western
Iran. At the time, Ismailism was a growing movement in Iran and other lands east of Egypt. The

This prompted his abandoning Rey and heading to Cairo in 1076.
Hassan took about 2 years to reach Cairo. Along the way he toured many other regions that did not fall
in the general direction of Egypt. Isfahan was the first city that he visited. He was hosted by one of the
missionaries of his youth, a man who had taught the youthful Hassan in Rey. His name was Resi
Abufasl and he further instructed Hassan.
From here he went to Caucasian Albania, current Azerbaijan, hundreds of miles to the north, and from
there through Armenia. In Armenia, Hassan was persecuted from the region, due to heated arguments
with priests.
He then turned south and traveled through Iraq, reached Damascus in Syria. He left for Egypt from
Palestine. Records exist, to date his arrival in Egypt at 30 August 1078. However, it is unclear how
long Hassan stayed in Egypt, it is said that the assumed amount of time is three years. After which he
attained the Grand Master status.
After achieving his status as Grand Master, Hassan began his claim over the fortress of the eagle s nest
also known as the fortress of Alamut in the Qazvin region in modern day Iran. The fortress of Alamut

Looking Out for Number One:
Conflicting Cultural Values in Early Seventeenth Century Virginia
By: T.H Breen
The main focus of Breen s essay the focus is on the fact that colonists in Virginia were driven and
motivated to come to the New World, predominantly for monetary reasons. Virginia s soil was found
to be unusually well suited for growing tobacco, which is why it drove such a variety of people to
migrate there. The colonists, though said to be religious, were extremely individualistic, selfish, as
well as primarily drawn in by the economic opportunity in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Breen clearly depicts the Virginians attitude by saying that if they would have landed in a cold, rocky,
inhospitable country...they would probably have given up the entire venture... Throughout this essay
Breen reiterates the fact that the Virginians were out for private gain. They took it to such an extent
that they isolated themselves throughout the land, which they exploited to all ends. Their relationships
between each other and social behavior clearly portrayed the individualistic attitude they had. Slaves
were used as a resource to increase profit. In Virginia you seemed to either be a resource used for
profit or an exploiter who utilized those resources.
In order to keep all people able to work on the fields working, the colonists discouraged church and
school within Virginia. The lack of emphasis on education and religion was disgraceful. Although
from time to time something might have been mentioned, nothing was done. The military was also
something of great importance, but belittled. It was despicable how the fixation of personal gain was
more persuasive than the idea of creating a reliable system of defense.
Due to the lack of military planning, in 1622 there was a massacre. The Indians attacked the clearly
defenseless colony, in which 347 colonists had been killed. After this attack the Virginians realized
something had to be done. They couldn t live so far

Takng a Look at Robert E. Lee
Robert Edward Lee was born January 19, 1807 at Stratford in Westmoreland County. Continuing in
the military tradition of his father, in 1825 Lee entered West Point and graduated second in his class in
1829, without getting single demerit in his four years there. Serving several military positions in
Georgia, Virginia, New York, Texas, and Mexico. Over the next 23 years, his reputation as a strong
military leader increased in recognition and respectability, and in 1852 he was named superintendent
of West Point. From February of 1860 until February of 1861, for one whole year,, Lee commanded
the Department of Texas the largest number of troops he had ever commanded. Lee had to evaluate his
position as a Whig devoted to the Union and as a Virginian. At this point, he did not agree with the
political and economic arguments for Southern independence. Though, unfortunate as the choice was,
if pressed to choose between fighting for Virginia or for the Union, Lee realized the decision would be
simple. Lee s loyalties proved to be on the side of the South because of his family tradition in and
association with the state of Virginia.
Lee was born on a Stratford Hall Plantation in Virginia. The fifth child of Henry Light Horse Harry
Lee, and his second wife, Anne Hill Carter, His birth date has traditionally been recorded as January
19, 1807, but according to a historian, Lee s writings indicate he may have been born the previous

Smuggling Cuban Baseball Players Essay
Major League Baseball (MLB) in America has an influx of players from across the world and many
come from Latin American countries. The country of Cuba has numerous players playing in the MLB
even though Cuban citizens are not allowed to leave Cuba without a permit that is very difficult to get.
Most young Cuban baseball players are forced to flea the country in order to enter the MLB. These
young men have to risk jail time and their lives in hopes of getting a payday in America. They are
smuggled out of their country by way of boat and often with help of the drug cartels. Hopefully one

agent, found a loophole in which he had his players establish residency in Dominican Republic for 6
months to establish residency. This way his players avoided the draft and were allowed to sign as free
agents. Since Fidel Castro has taken over Cuba over 200 Cuban ballplayers have defected.
The way Cuban Ballplayers leave Cuba is often a daunting task. Ballplayers who wish to leave want
to play with the best competition and want the million dollar contracts but in order to get them they
have to risk everything. Juan Miranda tried escaping Cuba 6 times and had to spend seven days in jail
before finally escaping the seventh. I left Cuba for the Dominican Republic. It s an experience that I
won t recommend to anybody else, said Miranda who made it by way of raft with 15 to 20 other
people and lasted five days. Cubans spend days under the hot sun and cold nights with little to eat or
drink. Miranda was rewarded however with a four year $2.7 million deal with the New York Yankees.
Yunel Escobar also escaped on a raft with a group of 24 journeying for 2 days. He however landed in
Miami instead of the Dominican Republic making him draft eligible. This made him miss out on free

Plebeian Families
In the early years of Rome, the less wealthy plebeian majority typically worked as farmers on a
patrician estate through a clientage, a social relationship in which wealthy landholders offer protection
and financial aid to lesser citizens in return for political and labor support. The plebeian families had a
small plot of land within the estate that was used simultaneously to provide for the families and to
provide for the landowner.
If not bound by a clientage, plebeians would live within the walls of a city and earn a living by selling
food that they had grown themselves on a small plot of land or run a shop that provided common
amenities to Roman citizens

Soon, Rome became an organized sprawl of paved roads that connected cities and farms. Despite this
it was still cheaper and more efficient to transport goods by sea rather than by river or land. Sea travel
could also be the riskiest, subject to the whims of weather and theft from piracy. It was restricted by
the seasons as the period between November and March was regarded as being too unpredictable for
safe passage.
During the era of Roman Trade a state control had to be sanctioned over trade in order to guarantee
supply. This was called the annona system and it was very strict, enforcing taxation on all vessels that
entered Roman ports, no exceptions. The state taxed the movement of goods between provinces and
also controlled many local markets, even the establishment of a market by a landowner had to be
approved by a member of the Senate.
The Roman military, with its members in the hundred thousands, was the most prominent reason to
maintain trade with other regions. The promise of land to well serving soldiers also facilitated
expanding conquest. In fact, close to seventy percent of all government spending was towards the

Here two assumptions may take birth from this study either zinc has genomic stability properties
directly or it does so by reducing the absorption of lead in the body which in turn may prevent DNA
damage. Several mechanisms involved in genotoxic response for example destabilization of chromatin
may indirectly involve DNA damage (Johansson and Pellicciari, 1988) and impair repairing process
(Hartwig et al. 1990). It is believed that not a single factor could be responsible for genotoxicity but
many factors including dietary could markedly influence the hostility of genotoxic agents (Hayatsu et
al. 1988; Fenech and Rinaldy, 1994). Diets rich in antioxidant can negatively reduce the risk of several
type of human cancer (Byers and Perry 1992). In addition, workers exposed to chemicals show a
significant decrease in chromosome aberration frequency when given multivitamin in dietary
supplements (Lazutka 1996; Emerit et al. 1997). Earlier studies regarding clastogenic effects of lead
are contradictory. Clastogenic effects of lead were shown in the form of chromosome gaps and breaks
by 1% lead acetate in culture mouse leucocytes (Muro and Goyer 1969). Lead acetate was also shown
to increase the frequency of chromosome aberration on human lymphocytes treated in vitro (Beek and

Gender Roles In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary
Madame Bovary is a novel by author Gustave Flaubert in which one woman s provincial bourgeois
life becomes an expansive commentary on class, gender, and social roles in nineteenth century France.
Emma Bovary is the novel s eponymous antiheroine who uses deviant behavior and willful acts of
indiscretion to reject a lifestyle imposed upon her by an oppressive patriarchal society. Madame
Bovary s struggle to circumvent and overthrow social roles reflects both a cultural and an existential
critique of gender and class boundaries, and her unwillingness to tolerate the banalities of domestic
life in a predetermined caste culminates in several distinct means of defiance. Emma Bovary exploits
traditional cultural values such as marriage, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

husband Charles is guiltless of cruelty or vice he is representative of a patriarchy that is entirely

result the LAS was applicable, we would arrive to the same conclusion because all the activities

The Impact Of The European Union On The Common Security...
Many of the institutions within the European Union play a substantial role in formulating EU foreign
policy. The Common Security and Defense Policy, often referred to as the CSDP, was created as a way
for the EU member states to develop defense, military and crisis management policies. The CSDP,
which began as a Franco British initiative in 1998, was created as a major component of the Common
Security Foreign Policy of the European Union. In the years since its inception, the CSDP has enabled
the EU to gain power and become a world leader in the realm of international security. Much of the
common security and defense policy s success is due to the capabilities and resources that are
provided by the EU member states and world partners such as NATO. As many of the European Union
member states are members of both the CSDP and NATO, the two organizations work side by side in
order to accomplish Western security goals. Britain had played a leading role in the EU common
security and defense policy since it was created. Since the vote in June 2016 to decide whether the
British exit from the EU would take place, many have wondered what Brexit would mean for the EU
and its institutions. This paper will examine and analyze the impact of Brexit on the EU Common
Security and Defense Policy. In order to truly understand how the UK s exit from the Union will
impact the CSDP and EU foreign relations, as a result of a change in the political landscape of the EU,

this down to the time of year and depth of water for each bait. Each one of these have brought me
mass quantities of bass.

All year long there will be some bass that hold up in the deep waters. No one knows why but some
bass just don t move around very much. With that said, nowhere does it say cold weather days are the
only time bass hang out in the deep. For my deep water I use mainly soft plastics. Worms to be
precise. Not that long ago the Senko worm came out and they have been hot ever since. There are so
many ways to fish with worms. Just to name a few you have the classic Texas rig, wacky worm and
the Neko rig. I am a firm believer in the Texas Rig. I am going to give let you know how to fish with
the Texas and Neko rig.
Got to Love some deep water worms!
The Texas rig is my favorite worm rig and most commonly used. I am pretty sure the Texas rig was
created around the time Texas became a state. As far as I know the Texas rig Is the oldest technique for
fishing with worms.

Dogs Have Strong Abilities Communicate With Other Species
Dogs have shown to have strong abilities to communicate with other species, especially humans. Ever
since dogs were domesticated close to 15,00 years ago, they have had a strong ability to communicate
and cooperate with people (Jensen et al., 2016). They re able to communicate with and understand
many human signs and words. They use things like gaze following and an ability to observe and then
act within accordance to their owner s attention (Jensen et al., 2016). Additionally, dogs have an even
more greater understanding of the human language. They use the various sounds they make, such as
barking, to communicate with humans. Through their social capabilities, dogs are able to form tight
bonds with their owners, facilitated by the mutual increase in levels of oxytocin, a neuropeptide
related to social bonding (Jensen et al., 2016). When faced with difficult problems, dogs also show
social interactions when facing problems, turning to a human for help rather than solving a problem on
their own. Through social interaction like these, dogs prove themselves to be close allies to the human
race. In order to understand these behaviors, researchers took a closer look at the genetics of both dogs
and humans. They aimed to perform a genetic analysis of behavior, but in order to perform this type of
testing, reliable and comprehensive phenotyping methods (Jensen et al., 2016). Trained observers test
the dogs and scores them on behaviors such as fear and sociality. The results

Conducting An In-Depth Interview With Tijuana
Interviews are often conducted in because we are interested in gathering information/ perspectives on
people s lives. According to Hoodnaard (2015), an in depth interview s main purpose is to provide the
opportunity for people to explain their experiences, attitudes, feelings, and definitions of the situation
in their own terms and in ways that are meaningful to them (p. 102). Conducting an in depth interview
involves employing the following three process: 1) easing a sense of control, 2) being open, and 3)
having the interviewee guide the direction that the interview will take. In the interview that I
conducted on my friend Tijuana Turner, I took an active approach, which allowed me to pay close
attention to how our interaction played out. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tijuana s, shared understandings of and interactions with the course waitlist are of extreme relevance
to my qualitative research (Hoodnaard, 2015). While conducting this interview, I forgot to take into
account the gestural (non verbal) forms of communication Tijuana was exhibiting as a social
behaviour. I was, however, open to the unexpected since I was conducting a qualitative research
assignment that follows an inductive approach. This means that I gathered up all of my data first such
interviewing Tijuana before formulating a theory (Hoodnaard, 2015). It was recommended by
Professor Bisaillon and author Hoodnaard (2015) that I design an interview guide (109), as a useful
tool for me to rely on during my interview. I did not get the opportunity to create one, and although
my unstructured interview was more flexible, with Tijuana determining the direction of the interview
allowing for me to Tijuana s topic of interest I still experienced a few common pitfalls. For example, I
did not completely avoid starting my questions with why and often asked double barrelled question
unintentionally. This error could have been avoided if I had written a comprehensive list of questions
beforehand, but since I did not, I soon ran out of questions to as Tijuana and

Three Year Trend
It is evidently by the graph that the amount of sassy comments significantly decreased over the three
week programme. The programme had an average of 10.7 sassy remarks per day compared to the
baseline data of 15.5, this shows an average decrease of 4.8 sassy comments. Consequently, the
programme data greatly fluctuates over the three weeks with the maximum number of sassy comment
made during the three week period was fifteen and the minimum was six. Unmistakeably, there are
several trends, both of which are also seen in the baseline data. Firstly, the general trend of sassy
comments decreases towards the end of the week and during the weekend (Friday to Sunday) similar
to that of the baseline data. In addition, my sassy comments largely peak ... Show more content on

Comparing the two data s, the baseline data had a positive correlation of 0.4048 whereas the
programme data had a negative correlation of 0.1513. This signifies that for the baseline data for my
sassy comments had a general increase in trend, in contrast to the programme data were it had a
negative trend. Although, the 0.1513 is a relatively weak decrease compared to a reasonably moderate
increase of 0.4048, it nevertheless demonstrates a small effectiveness of the programme. As seen on
the graph, the blue line (baseline data) is largely above the yellow line (programme date) in an upward
trend whereas the yellow line gradually declines. It is highly difficult to factor out the antecedents that
influence my behaviour; therefore understanding those factors is the second best option. I have noted
that my mood affects my amount of sassiness each day and that midweek my mood significantly
decreases and then increases in late week. Although, it impacts my data greatly it is too difficult to
change these controlling factors. A solution to the problem would be to control the amount of people I
see, thus, controlling my sassiness. Generally, I only express sassy comments as a response to a
cheeky or somewhat vacuous question/comment made by an acquaintance. Henceforth, restricting the
amount of people I see midweek when my sassiness peaks due to antecedents, such as mood, would to

The Amistad Essay
The Amistad
The Amistad was a Spanish ship built in Baltimore for the purpose of transporting slaves. For three
years, it sailed the high seas delivering its cargo to various locations. But in August of 1838, a
scandalous injustice was uncovered after the ship was seized by an American vessel, the USS
Washington, a coast guard ship under the command of Lt. Thomas R. Gedney. Lt. Gedney and his
crew towed the Amistad into a New England harbor in Connecticut where soon many controversies
amounted and drama would unfold.
For 63 days, the Amistad had been drifting toward the American shoreline. As conditions deteriorated
aboard the vessel, it s inhabitants at the time, Africans, sick and dying, were in need of food and water.

Green and Lt. Gedney, were claiming salvage rights to the ship. The value of the cargo was estimated
at $40,000, not including the Africans, who were an additional $20,000 $30,000 on the Havana
market. United States District Attorney for Connecticut, William Hollabird was called in.
Slave trade had been outlawed in the United States colonies for almost 30 years and in Spain for 19.
Feeling something was wrong with the stories surrounding this vessel, Mr. Hollabird ordered a judicial
hearing. The call for the hearing was not out of concern for the Africans, but, Mr. Hollabird, as a
representative of the law, had to follow legal procedures of an investigation. The matter of murder,
piracy, salvage rights and more sent this case to trial, and the Africans were placed in detainment
under the custody of the US Marshall. The case appeared before Judge Andrew Judson.
Abolitionists were very active during this time in history. After they became aware of this case, they
decided to become involved on behalf of the Africans. They were to use this case as a means of
publicizing the evils of the African slave trade and slavery itself.
Lewis Tappan, a descendant of Benjamin Franklin, wanted to change the world. As an admitted
Christian evangelistic abolitionist, he firmly believed slavery was a moral wrong and openly opposed
it. He called for many of the leading

Key Cultural Differences Paper
Key Cultural Differences Between the United States and Japan
A variety of key cultural differences shape the behaviors and attitudes within both the United States
and Japan. Key cultural differences as defined by the Hofstede model, such an individualistic society
versus a collective society, short term orientation versus long term orientation, as well as direct
communication style versus indirect communication style. This paper will focus on the key cultural
difference within business communication styles of both. Then, it will conclude with analyzing any
adjustments that would need to be made in order to conduct business in Japan.

When planning to do business with the Japanese being prepared, as well as understanding their
business culture and etiquette is a key (Commisceo, 2016). The Japanese are very formal in most
everything they do, specifically in business. Business greetings, business meetings, seating
arrangements, to the exchanging of gifts and business cards are all based on tradition and rituals. A
high value of importance is placed on these formal cultural behaviors.
Americans tend to be more casual when conducting business, particularly with informal greetings and
other business customs. In American business culture, everyone comes to the table as an equal, no
matter what your title may be. On the other hand, the Japanese are always conscious of leadership
hierarchy and act accordingly in social and business settings, according to Geert Hofstede (n.d).
Barrett (2014) suggests, the difference in how power and equality are viewed culturally leads to
tremendous difference... in how individuals interact with each other on a daily basis.

Peace Negotiations in International Security
Post Cold War era is marked by the dominance of peace negotiations in international security, and
Middle east (ME) being a conflict area for a long time, got adequate focus. Tale of oil rich ME is a
story of conflicts having Israel Palestine issue at the core, and the stability and peace of this region
largely hinged on to the solution of this issue. So far, a number of unsuccessful initiatives have been
taken by world community for the solution of the issue. Roadmap for peace was one of such initiative,
initially coined by USA, which calls for a two state solution. Like other past initiatives this also turned
into a failure. Though the share of blame for failure goes to all stake holders, however, USA got the
large share of blames from international community due to her bias stance towards Israel. This
biasness is driven from long drawn USA Israel relationship built upon factors like sympathy for Israel
within USA, mental alikeness, strategic importance of Israel, influences of Israeli Lobby etcetera.
Though all these factors have their role in shaping US foreign policy in ME but many argue that
Israeli Lobby plays the most dominant role. In this essay an endeavour will be made to discuss
biasness of USA towards Israel in Israel Palestine peace process and discuss USA Israel relationship
as the basis of such biasness, using Roadmap (2003) as case study. In the process, it will first discuss
peace negotiation in general, followed by discussions on Roadmap and the role and

Essay on Ritalin, Helpful and Harmful
Ritalin Helpful and Harmful
When 20/20 and Oprah did segments about ADD on television, many parents felt that they finally
knew what was wrong with their kids. They rushed to the doctor s office to find out how they could
fix the problem. Most soon discovered a drug called Ritalin. It sounded simple. All they had to do was
give their rambunctious or hyperactive child a pill three or four times a day, and magically he or she
would be a perfect little angel. Most were so happy to find a cure that they did not stop to contemplate
other methods of treatment, possible side effects, or get a second opinion. Dr. Sharon Collins believes
this is because, It takes time for parents and teachers to talk to kids. It takes ... Show more content on

Many experts feel physicians should be more aware of the side effects of the drug and look to alternate
solutions before prescribing Ritalin. Some experts also believe that Ritalin should be only part of the
treatment for patients with ADD or ADHD. The drug, which now saturates the market, produces the
same sensations as the narcotic speed if someone who is not ADD or ADHD takes it. Because of its
narcotic nature, Ritalin is considered by law to be a controlled substance, and its dosage and intake
must be carefully monitored. Parents see Ritalin as a quick fix and urge doctors to prescribe it for their
children, thus leading to premature or improper diagnoses, more people having adverse side effects to
the drug, and an increased availability of the drug for non medicinal purposes.
Many doctors do not take the time to perform a complete evaluation of the patient who is suspected to
have ADD or ADHD. They listen to the teacher or parent and assume because the child has a short
attention span or is very hyperactive that the child must have ADD. The doctors do not take time to
examine other possibilities for the child s behavior such as learning disabilities, depression, or anxiety
disorders that look like ADHD, but do not need Ritalin (Hancock 55).
This need to find a quick fix has

Criminological Theory Of Edwin Sutherland s Differential...
I. Introduction: Differential Association Theory is a criminological theory devised by Edwin
Sutherland asserting that criminal behavior is behavior learned through association with others who
communicate their values and attitudes (Walsh, 559).
Summary:
We live in a world that is full of choices and some individuals believe we have a choice that is made
by ourselves regardless of any influences from outside parties. We have the authority to determine
what is right or wrong for our own lives and we should be held accountable for those decisions.
However, one would believe it s safe to say we live in a world that approaches life with a black or
white perception. Meaning decisions in life are either morally right or morally wrong and ... Show

The world is full of self centered and self absorbed individuals. We are in a digital world where selfies
are more common than group photos and working alone for numerous hours are the latest trend. We
are forbidden to ask for assistance from others because one should be able to provide for themselves.
Walters lifestyle theory can be applied to our society today, in terms of crime isn t a behavior one
choices. Society has a pattern that can alter the course of someone s life and decisions leading them
down a path of criminal history full of irresponsible, impulsive and self indulgent behavior.
II. Differential Association Theory Differential Association Theory was created by Edwin Sutherland,
whose primary goal was to create a theory that could explain both individual criminality and collect
crime rates (Walsh, 186). For crime to occur conditions must be available, if not present crime does
not exist (Walsh, 186). In reading 13, it shows that individuals exposed to criminal activity are more
likely to become involved in criminal acts. Many empirical tests have relied on the number of criminal
associates as evidence of interaction with criminal members within an individual s primary group
(Walsh, 217). The reading on page 141 supports Sutherland s idea that behavior is learned. Kody Scott
was recently a graduate from an elementary school in Los Angeles whose sole purpose in life was to
become a part of a gang known as Eight Trey Crips. Many would argue

The Day Of My Father Essay
I was born in Leon, in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, Mexico, on August 15, 1999, at Saint Luis
General Hospital. The day of my birth, my father decided to name me Fabian. While growing up in
Wisconsin, some people found it difficult to pronounce my name correctly, so my friends shorten it to
Fab. My parents moved to Racine in 1999 because a lot of our relatives had already moved to Racine.
My father was born in Leon, Guanajuato. He never enjoyed school. He found school to be boring. So
he spent most of his time playing goalkeeper for his team. At the age of 15, my father was in his last
year of school, this was when he met my mother. My mother enjoyed school because she loved to
learn new things and she was in the top of her class. An unlikely pair formed when my mother was
appointed to tutor my father. After a while, they started to go out and within three years of dating, they
got married and my mother gave birth to my eldest brother. This meant my father had to get serious
about work since he had a child to raise. I have a great deal of respect for my parents for taking jobs to
raise me and my siblings, and I am thankful for their hard work. Their hard work pushed me to
become the best I could be. They sacrificed their stead life in Mexico for a high risk life that gave me
the opportunity to have a better life.
My eldest brother, Oscar, is now 25 years old, and his favorite thing to do is to play soccer and to
work out. He is currently a Marine officer. My second

The Disappearance Of The Lost Colony
In 1587, one hundred ten people, including seventeen women and nine children, sailed from
Plymouth, England, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to start a new life on the Outer Banks. This
colony of over one hundred people disappeared from the Roanoke Island region, never to be seen
again (Kramer 2). For over 400 years, historians and archeologists have attempted to determine what
happened. Although there are several popular theories regarding the disappearance of the Lost Colony,
the theory with the most evidence for being accurate is the migration theory. The two previous
expeditions that had been sent to this region by Sir Walter Raleigh had been unsuccessful in
establishing a settlement. The first group had simply returned to England. The second group had left
fifteen men to stay on the island to start a colony. The third group had expected to find these men
when they arrived, but the logs of Fort Raleigh had been pulled down. One corpse was found and it
became clear that the destiny of the others was not good, and none had survived ( The Lost Colony of
Roanoke 2). Prior to their departure from England in1587, the third group of colonists was misled
about the area they were sent to. The previous expedition had compared Roanoke to the Garden of
Eden saying, The earth bringeth forth all things in abundance, as in the first creation, without toil or
labor. The soil is the most plentiful, sweet, fruitful and wholesome of all the world. Soon after arrival

  • 2. Exhibitionistic Disorder Research Paper Most people who suffer from Exhibitionistic Disorder do not seek treatment on their own even after conviction. Exhibitionists will seek treatment because a judge enforces that they do so to prevent jail time or more serious consequences. There is a various amount of treatments for exhibitionists. Therapies are a very common form of treatment for exhibitionists. There is different type of therapies to treat this disorder. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a very common and effective therapy used for exhibitionists. • 3. The Contribution of American Women to the Abolitionist... The Abolitionist Movement changed the course of the nation. In addition to the eventual emancipation of slaves, it transformed the role of women in American History. During the Abolitionist Movement, it was thought that the duties of women were confined within the home (Boylan 363). While most women of the time agreed with this statement, there were many who did not. This change of attitude started during the Great Awakening (Baker 623). Eliza Wilkinson wrote, I won t have it thought that because we are the weaker sex as to bodily strength we are capable of nothing more than domestic concerns (Goldfield, et al. 171). During this time, society was against women leaving the home. Many of the men who were against slavery were also opposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A racially integrated group of women formed the Boston Female Anti Slavery Society in October of 1833. This was uncommon for the time period. The society was made up of three different social classes of women, which caused conflict of interest within the society. The different classes were white, upper class women, white, middle class women, and elite black women. The upper class though that the middle class were restricting the ideas of the society, while the middle class thought the aggressive techniques of the upper class women was atrocious (Hansen 46). Upper class white women used men s tactics like political protest and public action to spread their cause, while middle class women used church based techniques, while focusing towards the needs of women and children (Hansen 63).The elite black women were less interested in policy issues and instead advocated programs that would provide direct care to the black community (Hansen 46). Slavery was thought of as a sin by many people, causing many women to leave the church over this disagreement (Petrulionis 389). Many of these women in Boston formed the Anti Slavery Society, which became one of the nation s biggest and most influential. To wash away the sin of slavery, it was customary for a minister s wife to be the first president of the Boston Anti Slavery Society; Charlotte Phelps was the first to fill this position (Hansen 47). • 4. Set In The Antebellum South, Mark Twain’S Adventures Of Set in the Antebellum South, Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn documents a landscape that differs greatly from the poised and picturesque scene associated with the contemporary South. Today s South is synonymous with with ice cold pitchers of tea, ceaseless etiquette exuded on wraparound porches, and seemingly romantic drawls. However, the South that Huck resides in, tells a different story. Specifically, his South is a place where suitable behavior is associated with the acceptance of slavery, and racist slurs pepper every sentence. As a result, any deviation from these behaviors leaves an individual ironically branded with a connotation of being uncivilized. Due to this distorted view of ethics, any character with even a shred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This occurrence exhibits Huck s lack of moral fiber, and serves as an excellent basis for him to develop an experience of human goodness (Nichols). As evidenced in the introductory instances regarding death, Huck s morality is defective and his sympathy is missing. Perhaps, Huck s flaws are due to his close contact with the iconic delinquent Tom Sawyer, who is likely corroding Huck s ethics. Consequently, when Huck bonds with his new partner in crime, Jim, a stark juxtaposition is evidenced between the ideals of Tom and Jim. However, luckily youth is a time of greater potential for change than any other stage of life , and Jim s positive influence proves beneficial (Trites 53) . Specifically, Jim is extraordinarily superstitious and attaches a copious amount of meaning to just about everything, even a measly snake skin (Twain 162). Of course, this means that Jim does not completely disregard the significance of death and importance of sympathy, as Tom and his mischievous mates do. Consequently, Jim has proven himself as a morally admirable figure (Bollinger). As a result, after prolonged exposure to Jim, Huck starts to exude more concern for the life of others, as evidenced in quite a few scenarios that take place on his and Jim s journey. One example occurs within the thirteenth chapter of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, when Huck is aboard a sinking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Hassan Sabbah s Influence On The World Hassan Sabbah was born and raised in the city of Qom, Iran in the 1050s to a family of Twelver Shia. Early in his life, his family moved to Rey, South Khorasan in the district of Tehran. Rey was a city that had a history of radical thought since the 9th century. It was in this center of religious hub that Hassan developed a keen interest in metaphysical matters and live by the Twelver code of instruction. From the age of 7 to 17, he studied at home, and mastered palmistry, languages, philosophy, astronomy and mathematics. Along the way he toured many other regions that did not fall in the general direction of Egypt. Isfahan was the first city that he visited. He was hosted by one of the missionaries of his youth, a man who had taught the youthful Hassan in Rey. His name was Resi Abufasl and he further instructed Hassan. From here he went to Caucasian Albania, current Azerbaijan, hundreds of miles to the north, and from there through Armenia. In Armenia, Hassan was persecuted from the region, due to heated arguments with priests. He then turned south and traveled through Iraq, reached Damascus in Syria. He left for Egypt from Palestine. Records exist, to date his arrival in Egypt at 30 August 1078. However, it is unclear how long Hassan stayed in Egypt, it is said that the assumed amount of time is three years. After which he attained the Grand Master status. After achieving his status as Grand Master, Hassan began his claim over the fortress of the eagle s nest also known as the fortress of Alamut in the Qazvin region in modern day Iran. • 6. Looking out for number one Essay Looking Out for Number One: Conflicting Cultural Values in Early Seventeenth Century Virginia By: T.H Breen The main focus of Breen s essay the focus is on the fact that colonists in Virginia were driven and motivated to come to the New World, predominantly for monetary reasons. Virginia s soil was found to be unusually well suited for growing tobacco, which is why it drove such a variety of people to migrate there. The colonists, though said to be religious, were extremely individualistic, selfish, as well as primarily drawn in by the economic opportunity in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Breen clearly depicts the Virginians attitude by saying that if they would have landed in a cold, rocky, inhospitable country...they would probably have given up the entire venture... Throughout this essay Breen reiterates the fact that the Virginians were out for private gain. They took it to such an extent that they isolated themselves throughout the land, which they exploited to all ends. Their relationships between each other and social behavior clearly portrayed the individualistic attitude they had. Slaves were used as a resource to increase profit. In Virginia you seemed to either be a resource used for profit or an exploiter who utilized those resources. In order to keep all people able to work on the fields working, the colonists discouraged church and school within Virginia. The lack of emphasis on education and religion was disgraceful. Although from time to time something might have been mentioned, nothing was done. The military was also something of great importance, but belittled. It was despicable how the fixation of personal gain was more persuasive than the idea of creating a reliable system of defense. Due to the lack of military planning, in 1622 there was a massacre. The Indians attacked the clearly defenseless colony, in which 347 colonists had been killed. After this attack the Virginians realized something had to be done. They couldn t live so far ... • 7. Takng a Look at Robert E. Lee Robert Edward Lee was born January 19, 1807 at Stratford in Westmoreland County. Continuing in the military tradition of his father, in 1825 Lee entered West Point and graduated second in his class in 1829, without getting single demerit in his four years there. Serving several military positions in Georgia, Virginia, New York, Texas, and Mexico. Over the next 23 years, his reputation as a strong military leader increased in recognition and respectability, and in 1852 he was named superintendent of West Point. From February of 1860 until February of 1861, for one whole year,, Lee commanded the Department of Texas the largest number of troops he had ever commanded. Lee had to evaluate his position as a Whig devoted to the Union and as a Virginian. At this point, he did not agree with the political and economic arguments for Southern independence. Though, unfortunate as the choice was, if pressed to choose between fighting for Virginia or for the Union, Lee realized the decision would be simple. Lee s loyalties proved to be on the side of the South because of his family tradition in and association with the state of Virginia. Lee was born on a Stratford Hall Plantation in Virginia. The fifth child of Henry Light Horse Harry Lee, and his second wife, Anne Hill Carter, His birth date has traditionally been recorded as January 19, 1807, but according to a historian, Lee s writings indicate he may have been born the previous year ¬. After that Joe Cubas, a sports agent, found a loophole in which he had his players establish residency in Dominican Republic for 6 months to establish residency. This way his players avoided the draft and were allowed to sign as free agents. Since Fidel Castro has taken over Cuba over 200 Cuban ballplayers have defected. The way Cuban Ballplayers leave Cuba is often a daunting task. Ballplayers who wish to leave want to play with the best competition and want the million dollar contracts but in order to get them they have to risk everything. Juan Miranda tried escaping Cuba 6 times and had to spend seven days in jail before finally escaping the seventh. I left Cuba for the Dominican Republic. It s an experience that I won t recommend to anybody else, said Miranda who made it by way of raft with 15 to 20 other people and lasted five days. Cubans spend days under the hot sun and cold nights with little to eat or drink. Miranda was rewarded however with a four year $2.7 million deal with the New York Yankees. Yunel Escobar also escaped on a raft with a group of 24 journeying for 2 days. He however landed in Miami instead of the Dominican Republic making him draft eligible. • 9. Plebeian Families In the early years of Rome, the less wealthy plebeian majority typically worked as farmers on a patrician estate through a clientage, a social relationship in which wealthy landholders offer protection and financial aid to lesser citizens in return for political and labor support. The plebeian families had a small plot of land within the estate that was used simultaneously to provide for the families and to provide for the landowner. If not bound by a clientage, plebeians would live within the walls of a city and earn a living by selling food that they had grown themselves on a small plot of land or run a shop that provided common amenities to Roman citizens After the rapid expansion of Ancient Rome and the Punic Wars, slaves were rapidly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Soon, Rome became an organized sprawl of paved roads that connected cities and farms. Despite this it was still cheaper and more efficient to transport goods by sea rather than by river or land. Sea travel could also be the riskiest, subject to the whims of weather and theft from piracy. It was restricted by the seasons as the period between November and March was regarded as being too unpredictable for safe passage. During the era of Roman Trade a state control had to be sanctioned over trade in order to guarantee supply. This was called the annona system and it was very strict, enforcing taxation on all vessels that entered Roman ports, no exceptions. The state taxed the movement of goods between provinces and also controlled many local markets, even the establishment of a market by a landowner had to be approved by a member of the Senate. The Common Security and Defense Policy, often referred to as the CSDP, was created as a way for the EU member states to develop defense, military and crisis management policies. The CSDP, which began as a Franco British initiative in 1998, was created as a major component of the Common Security Foreign Policy of the European Union. In the years since its inception, the CSDP has enabled the EU to gain power and become a world leader in the realm of international security. Much of the common security and defense policy s success is due to the capabilities and resources that are provided by the EU member states and world partners such as NATO. As many of the European Union member states are members of both the CSDP and NATO, the two organizations work side by side in order to accomplish Western security goals. Ever since dogs were domesticated close to 15,00 years ago, they have had a strong ability to communicate and cooperate with people (Jensen et al., 2016). They re able to communicate with and understand many human signs and words. They use things like gaze following and an ability to observe and then act within accordance to their owner s attention (Jensen et al., 2016). Additionally, dogs have an even more greater understanding of the human language. They use the various sounds they make, such as barking, to communicate with humans. Through their social capabilities, dogs are able to form tight bonds with their owners, facilitated by the mutual increase in levels of oxytocin, a neuropeptide related to social bonding (Jensen et al., 2016). When faced with difficult problems, dogs also show social interactions when facing problems, turning to a human for help rather than solving a problem on their own. Through social interaction like these, dogs prove themselves to be close allies to the human race. In order to understand these behaviors, researchers took a closer look at the genetics of both dogs and humans. Walters lifestyle theory can be applied to our society today, in terms of crime isn t a behavior one choices. Society has a pattern that can alter the course of someone s life and decisions leading them down a path of criminal history full of irresponsible, impulsive and self indulgent behavior. II. Differential Association Theory Differential Association Theory was created by Edwin Sutherland, whose primary goal was to create a theory that could explain both individual criminality and collect crime rates (Walsh, 186). For crime to occur conditions must be available, if not present crime does not exist (Walsh, 186). In reading 13, it shows that individuals exposed to criminal activity are more likely to become involved in criminal acts. Many empirical tests have relied on the number of criminal associates as evidence of interaction with criminal members within an individual s primary group (Walsh, 217). The reading on page 141 supports Sutherland s idea that behavior is learned. • 32. The Day Of My Father Essay I was born in Leon, in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, Mexico, on August 15, 1999, at Saint Luis General Hospital. The day of my birth, my father decided to name me Fabian. While growing up in Wisconsin, some people found it difficult to pronounce my name correctly, so my friends shorten it to Fab. My parents moved to Racine in 1999 because a lot of our relatives had already moved to Racine. My father was born in Leon, Guanajuato. He never enjoyed school. He found school to be boring. So he spent most of his time playing goalkeeper for his team. At the age of 15, my father was in his last year of school, this was when he met my mother. My mother enjoyed school because she loved to learn new things and she was in the top of her class. An unlikely pair formed when my mother was appointed to tutor my father. After a while, they started to go out and within three years of dating, they got married and my mother gave birth to my eldest brother. This meant my father had to get serious about work since he had a child to raise. I have a great deal of respect for my parents for taking jobs to raise me and my siblings, and I am thankful for their hard work. Their hard work pushed me to become the best I could be. They sacrificed their stead life in Mexico for a high risk life that gave me the opportunity to have a better life. My eldest brother, Oscar, is now 25 years old, and his favorite thing to do is to play soccer and to work out. He is currently a Marine officer. My second ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Disappearance Of The Lost Colony In 1587, one hundred ten people, including seventeen women and nine children, sailed from Plymouth, England, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to start a new life on the Outer Banks. This colony of over one hundred people disappeared from the Roanoke Island region, never to be seen again (Kramer 2). For over 400 years, historians and archeologists have attempted to determine what happened. Although there are several popular theories regarding the disappearance of the Lost Colony, the theory with the most evidence for being accurate is the migration theory. The two previous expeditions that had been sent to this region by Sir Walter Raleigh had been unsuccessful in establishing a settlement. The first group had simply returned to England. The second group had left fifteen men to stay on the island to start a colony. The third group had expected to find these men when they arrived, but the logs of Fort Raleigh had been pulled down. One corpse was found and it became clear that the destiny of the others was not good, and none had survived ( The Lost Colony of Roanoke 2). Prior to their departure from England in1587, the third group of colonists was misled about the area they were sent to. The previous expedition had compared Roanoke to the Garden of Eden saying, The earth bringeth forth all things in abundance, as in the first creation, without toil or labor. The soil is the most plentiful, sweet, fruitful and wholesome of all the world. Soon after arrival it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
