Choices In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Choices are present in every aspect of society, and all humans are forced to make choices throughout
their lifetimes. One of those choices that must be made correlates with a theme that resonates
throughout all of William Shakespeare s plays. One of his works, A Midsummer Night s Dream, can
provoke his readers to significantly ponder on the idea of love. All individuals must decide for
themselves how love works. Is it a choice, or unavoidable feelings that can t be explained? It can be
debated that in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, individuals do not have the luxury of
being able to choose whom they love. Their hearts simply just love. This play has a rather symbolic
way of revealing its author s interpretation of this theme. Every

How Does Gordon Bennett Create An Indigenous Australian...
Good artists copy, great artists steal.
By borrowing key visual features of Colin McCahon s work Victory Over Death II (1970) Gordon
Bennett recontextualises the work in his piece Self Portrait (but I always wanted to be one of the good
guys) (1990) to create an alternative perspective on Indigenous Australian identity. Through
appropriation, Bennett also emphasises
Born in Timaru, New Zealand 1919, Colin McCahon is regarded as one of New Zealand s most
prominent and celebrated artists. He was passionate about art and painting from a young age, and is
accredited with introducing modernism to New Zealand art during the early twentieth century,
alongside fellow artists Toss Woollaston and Rita Angus. His artwork is generally classified into ...

He completed a Fine Arts degree at the Queensland College of Art, and was one of the first Aboriginal
artists to become successful in a predominantly white profession. He refused to let his race define his
success and often denied to be recognised as an exceptional artist simply because of his Aboriginality,
even to the point where he rejected offers to display his work in Aboriginal exhibitions. He spoke of
his wishes to avoid banal containment as a professional Aborigine, which both misrepresents me and
denies my upbringing and Scottish/English heritage, as well as his hopes that his daughter would be
able to grow up in a culture where her race would not define her life or success. It was for these
reasons and many more that racial confrontation became a common theme in his works. His work Self
Portrait (but I always wanted to be one of the good guys) an appropriated version of Colin McCahon s
Victory Over Death II reflects his statement that he was often confronted by images of Aborigines
depicted as being violent and volatile growing up. His use of a cowboy and a group of American
Indians in the painting, despite his aboriginal heritage, could be because of his desire to compare the
parallels between the two, and propose the idea that both Aboriginal and American Indians were seen
as the bad guys despite it being obvious that they were the marginalised

Death of a Salesman Family Relationships Essay
Battle between Father and Son Family relationships always have a way of playing a key role for the
duration of most literary pieces. According to Arthur Miller s novel, Death of a Salesman, the
interaction of Willy and his sons, Happy and Biff, shows that family ties usually are connected either
physically or emotionally in some way or another. Willy Loman is just like every father in a father/son
bond, yet all he wants is to be a part of his son s life. Even though Biff and Happy admire and have so
much love for their father when they are younger, later down the road when they are older suddenly
they realize he had failed to prepare them for the real society in life. Many people would say that in
the play that the father/son ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All Willy really wants is to be a part of his son s lives and, Miller shows this by the example of when
in the play Biff comes home to recollect himself, Willy seems to think this as a failure because he
would rather see his eldest son be likely more successful rather than his youngest, Happy. Hereafter,
Willy tries to take matter into his own hands, I ll get him a job selling, he could be big in no time , he
says to Linda (1215). Partially due to Willy s consistency in Biff s life conflicts start to erupt more
partially to do with the fact being that they had different ideas of what the American Dream really is.
With Biff believing that the most inspiring job to a man is working outdoors, his father disregarded by
saying that working on the road selling was the greatest job a man could possibly have (1276). The
boys are clearly not at all fully functioning adults because of their upbringing throughout their life.
Another major issue in the play with the father/son relationship between Willy and his sons is the
amount of love shown towards them. The continuous support from growing up had molded the
Lomans into men who always fled back home whenever a problem approached. Biff says to Willy, I
never got anywhere because you blew me so full of hot air I could not stand taking orders from
anybody! (1275). The Loman brothers were babied so much all through their

Working While Attending High School
I think that it is inconvenient for adolescent to work while attending high school. Although the really
is that many adolescents are obtaining part time employment while in high school. According
Santrock (2014) It is estimated that 80 to 90 percent of adolescents are employed at some point during
high school (p.387). I do agree that there are some potentially positive influences. Some of the
advantageous that a working adolescent may experience are the development of autonomy, social
learning, and intergenerational harmony and contribute to the continuity between adolescence and
adulthood (Greenberger Steinberg, 1981. p.691). However, I believe that there are much more
disadvantages than advantageous. One of the disadvantages is that they may not have time for school,
family, and friends. An adolescent s first priority should be obtaining a higher education. When they
work they may place more emphasis on their employment instead of their education. Also, they may
become stressed out to fulfill their numerous commitments. They will have to effectively balance their
time to study and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are absent more and reported that they did not enjoy school as much. If an adolescent works long
hours it may affect them both physically and mentally (Larson, 2009, p.387). For instance, one reason
is they will have to balance their school obligations and work obligations. One research study found
that it was not just working, but the long hours that affected their grades (Greenberger Steinberg,
1986. p.691). This can cause a great deal of stress in their life. For instance, if an adolescent works at
McDonalds waiting on customers they may feel stress in ensuring that they meet the expected time
frames and to provide customers with a quick and accurate service. Exposure to job stress is related to
alcohol and marijuana use for both boys and girls (Greenberger Steinberg, 1986.

Decision Analysis Task 1

Task 1
A.) Recommendation on how to improve current workflow.
It is my recommendation that Shuzworld change their facilities layout to create a better workflow. You
can accomplish this by breaking the current structure and reorganizing the workstations to accomplish
tasks in a more time efficient manner and maximizing an employees time spent on the product.
Utilizing the Case Study we can surmise that each eight hour shift must produce forty eight work
boots. 8 hours times 60 minutes equals 480 minutes. 480 minutes (The Work Shift) divided by 48 (the
number of work boots required) equals 10. One work boot must be completed in 10 minutes to meet
production goals. Let s take a look at the steps involved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

while providing the largest profit margin. The learning curve can be used and is based on the
assumption that as people continue to perform a task that will become more proficient at it and will
become more efficient as well. The coefficient approach of analyzing this learning curve seemed to be
the best option in this scenario. You can use a simple formula to calculate the hours needed for each
grouping my multiplying the required time of the first grouping by the coefficient of the grouping you
are trying to discover. This tool provided the most simple means to discover the required hours of each
grouping.

Essay on The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas
The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas
Throughout the beginning of the Aeneid Dido, the queen of Carthage, and Aeneas, son of Venus and
leader of the Trojans have an intimate relationship that ends in death. The relationship begins in Book
I when Venus, the goddess of love, has her other son Cupid fill Dido with passion for Aeneas, to
ensure Aeneas s safety in this new land. Meanwhile Venus/Plotted new stratagems, that Cupid,
changed/ In form and feature, should appear instead/ Of young Ascanius, and by his gifts/ Inspire the
queen to passion, with his fire/ Burning her very bones. (693) Venus did this to protect Aeneas and his
son, in fear that Dido would have otherwise been cruel to them.

They both do this for their own personal well being, but it does bring the couple together even more
then originally intended. Dido s passion has gone out of control, which causes physical and emotional
disorder. What woman/ In love is helped by offerings or altars?/ Soft fire consumes the marrow bones,
the silent/ Wound grows, deep in the heart. (67) This is an excellent example of Dido s inability to
control her passion, whereas she resembles the fire, and the wounds make the fire grow deeper. The
reference to her marrowbones is probably in place to reinforce the lust that cupid had burned within
her bones earlier. Her burning passion for Aeneas makes her grow physically sick.
Dido has realized that her relationship with Aeneas is over, and that her compelling passion for him
will bring her to an end, and she is still unable to change the course of events. When Dido learns about
Aeneas s departure she is overcome by rage, and despair, which brings her to the decision that she will
kill herself. Then Dido prays for death at last; (488). She has hoped that Aeneas would fall and die,
untimely, let him like unburied on the sand. (662). At this time she lies down on the funeral pyre and
stabs herself with Aeneas s sword.
Although Aeneas was a star struck lover, he is driven by fate to his only true love, Italy, and it appears
that he has replaced his love for Dido with the love for his future home. Shove off, be gone! A

The Marketing Of The Beer Industry
The U.S. beer industry is a highly concentrated industry since two large firms (Anheuser Busch InBev
and MillerCoors) occupy a significant market share. As the craft beer industry experiences an
explosive growth, the competition becomes fierce. As the largest craft brewery and the seventh largest
brewery in the United States, the Boston Beer Company is facing growing competitive threats from
larger breweries and premium imported beer companies, including Anheuser Busch InBev,
MillerCoors, Heineken, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium Brewing, and Crown Imports. More than that, it
has to face the competitive challenges from the small breweries, which are growing rapidly and want
to surpass the Boston Beer Company. Samuel Adams produced by the Boston Beer Company is one of
the most popular craft beer because it has won more awards in the beer tasting competitions than any
other brewery in the world since 2000 (Dess et al. C129). As the competition within the craft beer
industry, the Boston Beer Company has to figure out a way to maintain growth, increase customer
awareness, and continue to brew flavorful beers that customers enjoy.
Porter s Five Forces on the general Beer Industry
Industry rivalry is considered high because of the acquisition, the decline of the beer consumption, and
the rise of the craft brewing sector. Competition among the beer companies in the industry is based on
brand and quality. In recent years, the industry has also consolidated quite notably with the top two

High School Band Leadership
In the two years I ve spent in high school band, I ve learned that the best leaders are the ones who do
whatever needed to help the whole band succeed. Whether that be arriving at 6 in the morning to help
your section with marching and music, or just spending time with them at football games and section
parties. A great leader is someone who knows not only their own strengths and weaknesses, but the
organization s as well. The best leaders can also fully differentiate when it is time to work and when it
is time to have fun. I have been in many clubs and organizations where the leaders in charge led
through fear and not through respect, and it is the individuals such as those who have inspired me to
become a leader myself. There is a major

Diversity in Higher Education
Compiling a Case Study In higher education, diversity has many meanings and even more
implications. The Encarta World English Dictionary defines diversity as, social inclusiveness ethnic
variety, as well as socioeconomic and gender variety, in a group, society, or institution (Soukhanov,
1999). As important as diversity is tolerance. Encarta World English Dictionary defines tolerance as,
acceptance of different views the acceptance of the differing views of other people, e.g. in religious or
political matters, and fairness toward the people who hold these different views (Soukhanov, 1999).
The following is a definition of diversity in higher education, description of the diversity of the

Promoting Diversity and Tolerance
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center (2010), One in 10 students says that someone at school
has called them a derogatory word related to race, religion, ethnicity, disability, gender, or sexual
orientation in the past six months (as cited by Luther, Seeberger, Phelan, Simpson, p. 1, 2011). This
may be typical of traditional higher education organizations. However, online universities have the
unique ability to appeal to a wider population of students and staff without the common incidents of
racism, bigotry, and ageism experienced at brick and mortar universities. Following is a description of
how WGU appeals to a diverse student population and ensures a diverse population of faculty.
Student Stakeholders
There are multiple ways WGU appeals to a diverse student population. One way is through television
advertisement. Along with the main university, WGU has many state based universities that promote
their institution with local advertising. The advertising provided in each state varies based upon the
needs of the target students in that state. An example is an advertisement used by WGU Texas that
depicts graduation that features a pregnant mother who was able to finish her degree while being
pregnant and taking care of her other children. To add another element to the advertisement s appeal,
the pregnant mother is also African American.
Another method to increase diversity on the student side of the university

Richard Scrushy and HealthSouth Essay
Introduction HealthSouth is one of the nation s largest healthcare providers specializing in
rehabilitation. HealthSouth was founded by Richard M. Scrushy in 1984 and went public in 1986.
Scrushy served as its Chairman of the Board from 1994 to 2002. The company was incorporated in
January 1984 as Amcare Inc. before its name was changed to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Corporation
in May 1985. In January of 2003, Mr. Scrushy reassumed the position of CEO. HealthSouth grew
rapidly during the 1980 s and 1990 s. This growth was largely due to acquisitions. HealthSouth owned
more than 330 hospitals worldwide. It was also during this time that Scrushy became known as one of

The charges included conspiracy, money laundering, obstruction of justice and perjury (Johnson

behavior in Mr. Scrushy? Perhaps what we need is a scale for measuring the moral development or
character of the officers to whom the financial status and reports of the company are entrusted
(Jennings, 2005, p. 44 45). One measurement that can be used is a look into their personal lives. An
evaluation of the private conduct of the executive can often prove to be insightful and a predictor of
future behaviors. How we treat those who are the closest to us and, at least in theory, the most
important is telling (Jennings, 2005, p.45). Mr. Scrushy was married to wife number three and is the
father of eight children by three different women. Impact on Stakeholders
Richard Scrushy s management style was one that fostered intimidation and fear amongst his
employees. The weekly Monday morning meetings were often called Monday morning beatings when
the actual budget numbers did not meet the forecasted expectations. Every Monday morning he grilled
his division chiefs on the profits in their areas of responsibility and publicly berated any subordinate
who failed to meet his expectations (Solieri, Felo Hodowanitz, 2008, p. 342).

blood sugar levels which promotes weight loss and lowers the risk of diabetes. One study also showed
that regular supplementation with apple cider vinegar reduced body fat, triglyceride levels, and was

Helps Prevent Cancer
Apple cider vinegar slows the growth of cancer cells and possibly even kills cancer cells. The results
of studies have been somewhat contradictory on this subject but many possibilities are mentioned.
Some think that the acetic acid in vinegar could be the cancer fighting ingredient. Others have
proposed the pectin found in apples as well as polyphenols as possible anti cancer ingredients. The
true source is still a mystery but preliminary evidence has shown that apple cider vinegar is useful in
the prevention of some forms of cancer.

William Blake Thesis
Throughout recent decades there has been a clear shift in moral rationale with many of the practices
found within western society, particularly those involving children performing dangerous labor
intensive activities. Although child labor may seem like a thing of the past to those living in the first
world, it is well and alive around the globe. Child labor is prevalent in various developing nations
throughout Asia, Africa, and South America; where both child labor and child slavery run rampant
today. In his work The Chimney Sweeper, William Blake elucidates the experiences of young boys in
England who were sold off by their parents to work as chimney sweepers. Similarly, Sandy Tolan of

Modern society is troubled by remnants of the past that exist today, not only due the pervasive
exploitation of child labor in developing nations, but also because of the fact that child labor is
undeniably at an all time high.
The Chimney Sweeper is a poem by William Blake that attempts to shed light on the bleak and
dreadful experiences of children working as chimney sweepers. Blake integrates religion in his poems
to describe the salvation children desire while working brutal and agonizing jobs. In his poem, Blake
writes [that] thousands of sweepers... locked up in coffins of black ... by came an Angel who had a
bright key, And he opened the coffins set them all free (Blake, 11 14). The idea that a child of that era
was capable of thinking such grim dreams shows the tragic those children lived, and that these
children were hopeless. The purpose of the poem is relevant to what is occurring today in developing
countries throughout the globe. Tolan investigates the utilization of child labor in Bangladesh, a
country of 165 million in South Asia. Children are found working in Bangladeshi shipyards dissecting
steel and other metals off of decommissioned ships, often times without proper foot and hand

The Hiding Place Corrie Ten Boom Analysis
The virtue of forgiveness is one that Corrie ten Boom sometimes struggles with during her
experiences in her autobiography, The Hiding Place. The harrowing events of the Holocaust and Nazi
occupation of the Netherlands left little room for tenderness towards other people yet, as Betsie ten
Boom, Corrie s older sister showed time and time again, it is always possible to find it within oneself
to forgive another, especially with God s assistance. Betsie forgives Jan Vogel, the man who betrayed
the ten Boom family to the German army. In fact, Betsie feels sorry for him, she even tells Corrie that
she prays for him because he must be suffering dreadfully. This response makes Corrie feel guilty for

The family s strong Christian faith contributes to their treatment of others and their belief that God is
watching over them. The family was known for caring for others prior to their involvement in the

Corrie s other sister trusts that God will protect her and the young Jewish woman she is housing,

prisons in which Betsie and Corrie are held, Corrie gives her Gospels to other inmates when they are

places of darkness (161). Betsie always trusts that God has everything planned and everything is just
as it should be, even the fleas in the barracks at Ravensbruck. Later on the women come to understand
that the fleas are a blessing because their presence keeps the guards out of the barracks and makes
their little religious services possible (202).These moments of trust and kindness are closely linked to

I decided to pick the song Rico s Story Part II because of the intense story line. The song tells a story

Self Confidence and Determining One s Achievement
Nature verses Nurture, it is one of the most important topics in many areas of studies such as
psychology, medicine, developmental science, and so on. This concept leads to the well known topic:
Individual s innate talent or self confidence, which one functions as the crucial key to the road of
success? In reality, when people see a professional in a certain area instruments, compositions,
mathematics, etc., they say that person is so talented! Although those people would not deny the effort
factor, they still think that the innate talent is the essential element to succeed. However, scholars
already published gargantuan amount of research papers to inform that the self confidence functions as
the main factor in order to success (Bénabou). To verify the exact term self confidence from the
dictionary, it is the self assurance in one s personal judgment, ability, power, etc. (The Oxford
Dictionary, Chandra). But, research papers and dictionaries only illustrate the self confidence lead
people to achieve their goals, but not the intensity of the self confidence that is needed. My definition
of self confidence that leads to achievement is having less self assurance, and it can adjust one s goal
more feasible and pragmatic; therefore, it is the critical factor in determining one s achievement. It is a
cliché in common senses that people with high confidence tends to succeed in their career and life;
people often think that the high confidence is a blessing whereas the

Clever Tom Clinch Going To Be Hanged
Comparing A London Fete and Clever Tom Clinch Going to be Hanged
This essay will contrast the two poems A London Fete written by
Coventry Patmore and Clever Tom Clinch Going To Be Hanged by
Jonathan Swift. Both of these poems are about the hangings in the 17th 18th century. A London Fete
was written in the 18th century, whereas Clever Tom
Clinch was written in the 17th century. This could have made a slight variation in what the poet had
written because of the time variation.
For instance nowadays we are more civilised because of the new laws have been brought in.

I think that the crowd reacted the way they did is because everything adapts to its environment. So
going back to the title it s showing that the crowd is having a tremendous time.
The title Clever Tom Clinch is ironic because the word Clever is used to describe Tom Clinch. In
reality I believe that Tom Clinch is attempting to be clever whereas if he were intelligent he would
have never been caught in the first place. His waistcoat and stockings and breeches were white this
could have shown that he was witty because his garments were white which associates with an angel.
He considered that he could have swindled them into believing that he was innocent.
Jonathan Swift wrote the poem Clever Tom Clinch using swift and dexterous movements. He had also
used rhyming couplets throughout the poem. My opinion for why the poet decided to do this is
because when the reader is reading, he is reading in a continuous rhythm and flow.
This helps the reader to carry on reading. Clever Tom Clinch has been written in the form of a ballad,
which means that there is a narrator, which is telling you what is happening throughout the poem. For
instance, As Clever Tom Clinch, while the rabble was, rode stately through Holborn, to die in his
calling . The poet is telling us that
Tom Clinch was going through Holborn, and that the

Social and Reproductive Monogamy in Vole Rats
Social and Reproductive Monogamy in Vole Rats
Reproductive monogamy is defined as an exclusive sexual relationship between a female and a male
based on their sexual interactions. Social Monogamy refers to male and female s social living
arrangement without sexual interactions. It refers to the living patterns, raising offsprings, and
obtaining food. Monogamy is common in birds, but also occurs in invertebrates. Why would a male
mammal choose to mate with one female when he can mate with more than one? Why would the male
stay around instead of finding another female to live with? Many researchers have attempted to
answer this question of why some mammals prefer monogamy over polygamy. Vole rats, one of the
species that perform monogamous mating, demonstrate pair boding. Male and female pairs of vole
rats have been observed together over several months, and the males stay with females even when the
female is not reproductively active. A typical vole family in the wild is almost always consisted of one
male, one female, and their offspring. In addition, unlike other species in which females are the only
ones taking care of the offspring, vole rats share parental roles and even build nests together. Because
they show these monogamous behaviors, they have served as a good species/model to learn about
monogamy for neuroscientists. In this paper, monogamy, specifically in vole rats, will be explained
along with its proximate and ultimate causes of this adaptation.

Empirical Formula For Ag5o2
The empirical formula for silver oxide for trial one is Ag5O4 and for trial two is Ag3O2. For trial one
there is 0.451 grams of silver were produced from 0.504 grams of silver oxide. For trial two there is
0.456 grams of silver were produced from 0.500 grams of silver oxide. The difference between the
mass of silver oxide and mass of silver is the mass of oxygen that vaporized into the air. There are
0.053 grams of oxygen vaporized into the air for trial one and 0.456 grams oxygen for trial two.
The empirical formula is base on the ratio of moles of silver and the moles of oxygen. The empirical

Argo Navis Research Paper
My favorite constellation is the Pyxis due to its simplicity and how easy it is to spot and identify it
among other constellations. It lies in the Southern sky and is referred to as The Mariner s Compass . It
represents the magnetic compass used for directional navigation. It was originally name Pyxis Nautica
but later shortened to Pyxis for easier pronunciation.
At one time its stars were considered part of the ancient constellation of Argo Navis as the mast of the
great ship. In later years, Argo Navis was split into three separate constellations, Puppis , Vela and
Carina , by Nicolas Louis de Lacaille. In Greek mythology Argo Navis is the ship that was built by

Edward Abbey s Eco-Defense
The earth screams in terror as we rape and brutalize her daily! Red Woods in California are towering
and reaching towards the sky, proud and strong. Are they destined for a prominent man s floor?
Ancient redwood trees are enormous. They tower nearly three hundred feet into the sky, making men
look like ants as they scurry around their massive trunks. The redwood forest also has its own
ecosystem full of unique life. The earth is beautifully aged and teaming with magnificent life. Perhaps,
just maybe, saving our home, our natural resources, and the last remaining ancient giant redwoods is
worth breaking the law and using less than flattering tactics. A mind provoking, nonfiction piece of
literature, by Edward Abbey, called Eco Defense writes about the constant looting of the entire earth,
which could lead to the death of our world, and ultimately, ourselves. Through the use of bulldozers,
chainsaws, and dynamite, we as humans, are destroying our very home. Abbey poses the question, do
you have the right to defend your home if someone beats your door down with an axe and brutalizes
your family? He answers, yes, you have that right and obligation to protect yourself and your family.
Therefore, we have the right, and the duty, to defend our home, earth, from certain death and
destruction from abuse. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a living redwood is knocked down it will continue to grow, not just from the original tree root, but
from all the branches of the entire tree (Trees of Mystery). Would I break the law and pound nails into
every redwood tree I saw? Yes! Even if meant me paying a fine or spending time in prison. Destroying

Nuclear Physics Of The Society Development
Nuclear physics in the society development
Nuclear physics is the field of physics that studies atomic nuclei and their constituents and
interactions. The most commonly known application of nuclear physics is nuclear power generation,
but the research has led to applications in many fields, including nuclear medicine and magnetic
resonance imaging, nuclear weapons, ion implantation in materials engineering, and radiocarbon
dating in geology and archaeology. Nuclear physics has a lot of importance in general society
development. Ernest Rutherford (1871 1937): Known as the father of nuclear physics, the New
Zealand born scientist was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908 for his investigations into
the disintegration of the elements, and the chemistry of radioactive substances . Nuclear Physics as we
know it today is almost a hundred years old. In 2009, we celebrate the centenary of the publication of
the results of the Geiger Marsden (or gold foil) experiment performed at the University of Manchester.
Nuclear Physics positively influences our daily lives. There are many benefits to nuclear physics,
these benefits take many forms. When done properly it can encourage interest, develop support for the
research. From fighting cancer to assuring safety of food, to protecting our borders, nuclear physics
impacts the lives of everyone around the world every day. These applications include devices and
technologies for medical diagnostics and therapy, energy production

that the company is more favorable. The debt ratio and debt to equity ratio of MyToys is high, means
the company almost need to sell off all of its assets to cover its debts. Having more than 0.5 shows the
company is in a risky situation. MyToys do depend more on the bank loan because it is still a new

Leonardo Drew Research Paper
Raised in the projects of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where the city dump could be seen from every
corner of his apartment, a young Leonardo Drew was exposed to many raw and decaying sources of
inspiration which would later shape his creative and rustic style of composition. Drew would often use
materials from the city dump and repurpose them to create something beautiful. One of the biggest
reasons for his artistic success would be the youth group he attended which offered free supplies and
lessons from mentors. It is from this experience which led Drew to have his first exhibition at the age
of thirteen. This prodigy like image gained the attention of DC Comics and Marvel Comics talent
scouts. From then on, he further expanded his artistic abilities ... Show more content on

which he grew up in. When he sees his dark creation of scraps, roots, and twisted, oxidized metal, he

Erich Fromm
Erich Fromm in his novel To Have Or To Be argues that there are two forms of existence: having and
becoming. He believes that modern society is dominated by the to have mode, which is as a soul less
and selfish pursuit of material possessions. He also argues that neither capitalism nor communism
offer a way out of society s obsession with having because both economic systems have a materialistic
foundation. Therefore, Fromm attempted to synthesize capitalism and Marxist humanism to form a
society based on becoming. Fromm defined becoming as the mode of existence in which one neither
has anything nor craves to have something, but is joyous, employs one s faculties productively, is oned
to the world (16). The main difference between being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the poem Tennyson describes the reaction he had toward a flower he saw while taking a walk.
Instead of merely enjoying its beauty he wanted to have the flower and thus he plucked it. Tennyson,
even though he gained spiritual insight, ultimately killed the flower because of his interest in it.
Fromm s thesis is that society in its having mode of existence destroys the natural world in its pursuit
for knowledge and truth (plucking the flower). For example, scientists dismember natural systems to
understand their function and origin. Scientists may gain knowledge, but at the price of killing or
damaging the system they were observing. Overconsumption and pollution will always be a problem
for as long as mankind view the natural world as something to have or to own. An antithesis to Fromm
s assertion is that interfering with the natural world does not harm it (or plucking the flower will not
kill it). God created the world for mankind thus mankind can do with it as they please. I offer a
synthesis of both philosophies by suggesting that a passive appreciation of nature is good and is
needed, but manipulating nature is also needed for scientific advancement. However, science must not
be in the having mode, but rather it must be humble to avoid overconsumption and eventual
catastrophe. The purpose of science is to learn and to become better citizens of the world (or to
become one with the world). However,

Beggars Can T Be Choosers Analysis
Beggars can t be choosers. That s what I told myself. For years I ve been trying unsuccessfully to
watch films from the Coen brothers. So far, I ve managed to only catch up with their True Grit
remake, which I did not care for. Now, after scouring Netflix and TV for what seemed like ages, I
came across The Ladykillers. I knew this movie does not have a particularly upstanding reputation, as
Coen fanatics and regular moviegoers don t seem to like it. But I still need to educate myself on the
Coens. Beggars can t be choosers.
This remake of a 1955 film of the same name stars Tom Hanks as G.H. Dorr, a southern professor.
Dorr rents a room in Mississippi home of Marva Munson (Irma P. Hall), a religious old widow, on the

Hall as the landlady is serviceable in the role, bringing a certain honesty and genuineness to the
performance. J.K. Simmons does fine in his role, too, although I would not put this performance up
with his best work by any means. Lastly, since Tzi Ma and Ryan Hurst have smaller, one note/joke
roles, Marlon Wayans does his thing as a loudmouthed, foulmouthed black punk. His shtick quickly
becomes tiresome and annoying, though, as we have seen this character type too many times for it to
provide much amusement.
Though the performances are important, the main reason I watched The Ladykillers was to begin to
get a grasp for the Coen brothers. I was intrigued by the Coens from their work in this movie. Partly
because this is only the second film of theirs I ve seen, but also partly from their ingeniousness, I
never knew what to expect from the camera. This led to a more visually exciting experience as I
leaned forward in my seat in anticipation of the Coens next

Native Americans And The American Colonial Societies
Native Americans, English, Africans and other European settlers went through adversity in their plight
in trying to establish their own identity in North American Colonial societies. Trade and land were two
major components in the fight for power. The Native Americans and the settlers had turmoil; their
biggest conflicts were deciding how to delegate land and control trade. New France wanted to take the
fur trade away from the Iroquois Confederacy. The Native Americans valued the fur trade because it
was their primary forms of trade at the time. Over the span of twenty years New France and the
Iroquois Confederacy would have turmoil until they signed a treaty that made them neutral. Conflict
amongst the settlers and the Native Americans were also present in Virginia and New England. In
Virginia, Nathaniel Bacon led his people to use violence to push the Native Americans to the west; this
conflict became known as the Bacon Rebellion. They wanted to utilize their land for inhabiting their
community and for expansion of trade. In New England they tried to dismantle the Indian tribes such
as the Wampanoag s, Nipmucks, Narragansett s, and Abenaki s. This was accomplished through King
Phillip leading the New Englanders into war against the Native Americans. Eventually, the natives
supply of food and weaponry diminished greatly. After their resources declined many of the Natives
left were enslaved or passed away due to illness. Even though the Indians faced great adversity

something wrong? Why won t anyone help me? Is it because I m too much of a disgrace? Why was I
born? I remember back in kindergarden, I had a friend. Just one. His name was Rowley. I remember
his goofiness, his golden brown hair, his loyalty, and most of all, his gleaming smile. It all came to an

Comanche s Influence On Native Americans
Likewise, The Comanche Empire began forming alliances and agreeing to terms of peace with certain
tribes on the plains and were influenced by what these agreements and treaties would bring for the

and related tribes was the first agreement with the U.S. and plains Indians that kicked off treaties that
promised indigenous peoples goods in return for peace and land. Particularly in this respect was the
1835 treaty of Camp Holmes, in which Comanches granted Osages and the populous immigrant tribes
of Indian territory access to their lands in exchange for trading privileges. The Comanches agreed to

According to Rajendra Prasad, Improvements in agricultural technological advances in developing

Not too long ago, in 1984, it appeared as if the rate of population increase was decreasing everywhere
except near or in Africa and some parts of southern Asia. Today, the complication appears less
promising because progress created toward decreasing birth rates has been slower than wanted. The
world s population, now around five thousand three hundred million people, is increasing by around
two hundred fifty thousand people every single day. It is guessed that one thousand million people will
be born over the course of this current century. Over the course of the next ten years, the population of
the urbanized world will increase by around fifty six million, while the amount of people living in
developing places will expand to much over nine hundred million (United Nations Population

The Patient s Request For Euthanasia
INTRODUCTION
The right to end one s life based on individual terms instead of death occurring on its own time has
been highly controversial especially in palliative care. This term is called Euthanasia, which is defined
as the intentional termination of person s life, usually but not always at the person s request, and
usually the context of terminal illness or incurable suffering. Euthanasia has been categorized in terms
of active or passive actions, and voluntary, non voluntary, and involuntary actions. Active euthanasia
involves the killing of a patient instead of allowing the patient die passively by commissioning an
action that would directly cause the patient s death. The passive act of euthanasia is poetically
described as allowing nature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The possibilities of the patient to be coerced into the act due the inability to accurately determine the
level of sufferer s competency. Technical difficulties are also a concern for the anti euthanasia group.
If the medical professional make a diagnostic error and goes ahead with euthanasia, the patient would
not be given the chance to future treatment and procedures that would have offered a possibility of
living. The patient s suffering might be extended if there was a technical failure in administering an
easy death. This might be due to individual physiological difference that would cause a common
euthanasia procedure to produce a different account, hence prolonging the patient s suffering.
Opinions against euthanasia also defend their stance with the spiritual or religious belief of eternal
punishment for committing any act of suicide. For some, they encourage the principle of double effect
where treatment provided is aimed at elevating the pain but also causes death. The most dubious logic
of the anti euthanasia supporters is the Slippery Slope argument. This provides an ethical landscape
when making social changes in the society. It is a general belief that s socially and legally accepting
voluntary euthanasia would trigger the abuse of involuntary and non voluntary euthanasia. They
emphasize the morally relative difference when a person is

Human Pathogen That Is Responsible For Ulcers And Stomach...

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a human pathogen that is responsible for ulcers and stomach
inflammation. The organism had been researched by several scientists around the world since 1875;
however none of them was successfully culture it. Until 1982, Dr. Barry Marshall and Dr. Robin
Warren succeeded in observing the colonies, and thus became the first scientists to discover this
bacterium. By self testing, Dr. Marshall drank a liquid that contained H. pylori culture. A few days
later, he got sick with many symptoms such as vomiting and nausea. After ten days, by undergoing

Even though H. pylori is a neutralophile , it can survive in the very acidic environment in the human
stomach due to a variety of acidic adaptive mechanisms, such as the ability to utilize urease to break
down urea Nguyen 2 into ammonia, and thus neutralizing the surrounding acidic environment. Also,
H. pylori contains hydrogenase enzyme, which can oxidize molecules hydrogen being produced by
other gastric bacteria, in order to produce energy. Some other enzymes that can be utilized by H.
pylori are oxidase and catalase , which are also used to test for the presence of this organism. It can
also form biofilm on the gastric mucosa epithelium, which results in its ability to resist against many
antimicrobials. From spiral form, it is able to convert into coccoid form one of its advantage which
helps in its survival and epidemic potential [5].
H. pylori has 4 to 6 lophotrichous flagella which are its favor in motility. Usually, the
enterohepatic and gastric Helicobacter have really strong flagella. Its flagella filaments mainly are
FlaA and FlaB [10].
Like other organisms, its outer membrane is composed of phospholipids and lipopolysaccharide [7].

H. pylori is found in stomach, upper GI tract, intestines and other parts in the body but it usually
reside in stomach. Because it can only survive in neutral environment, once it penetrates the mucous

  • 2. Choices In A Midsummer Night s Dream Choices are present in every aspect of society, and all humans are forced to make choices throughout their lifetimes. One of those choices that must be made correlates with a theme that resonates throughout all of William Shakespeare s plays. One of his works, A Midsummer Night s Dream, can provoke his readers to significantly ponder on the idea of love. All individuals must decide for themselves how love works. Is it a choice, or unavoidable feelings that can t be explained? It can be debated that in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, individuals do not have the luxury of being able to choose whom they love. Their hearts simply just love. This play has a rather symbolic way of revealing its author s interpretation of this theme. Every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Does Gordon Bennett Create An Indigenous Australian... Good artists copy, great artists steal. By borrowing key visual features of Colin McCahon s work Victory Over Death II (1970) Gordon Bennett recontextualises the work in his piece Self Portrait (but I always wanted to be one of the good guys) (1990) to create an alternative perspective on Indigenous Australian identity. Through appropriation, Bennett also emphasises Born in Timaru, New Zealand 1919, Colin McCahon is regarded as one of New Zealand s most prominent and celebrated artists. He was passionate about art and painting from a young age, and is accredited with introducing modernism to New Zealand art during the early twentieth century, alongside fellow artists Toss Woollaston and Rita Angus. His artwork is generally classified into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He completed a Fine Arts degree at the Queensland College of Art, and was one of the first Aboriginal artists to become successful in a predominantly white profession. He refused to let his race define his success and often denied to be recognised as an exceptional artist simply because of his Aboriginality, even to the point where he rejected offers to display his work in Aboriginal exhibitions. He spoke of his wishes to avoid banal containment as a professional Aborigine, which both misrepresents me and denies my upbringing and Scottish/English heritage, as well as his hopes that his daughter would be able to grow up in a culture where her race would not define her life or success. It was for these reasons and many more that racial confrontation became a common theme in his works. His work Self Portrait (but I always wanted to be one of the good guys) an appropriated version of Colin McCahon s Victory Over Death II reflects his statement that he was often confronted by images of Aborigines depicted as being violent and volatile growing up. His use of a cowboy and a group of American Indians in the painting, despite his aboriginal heritage, could be because of his desire to compare the parallels between the two, and propose the idea that both Aboriginal and American Indians were seen as the bad guys despite it being obvious that they were the marginalised ... • 4. Death of a Salesman Family Relationships Essay Battle between Father and Son Family relationships always have a way of playing a key role for the duration of most literary pieces. According to Arthur Miller s novel, Death of a Salesman, the interaction of Willy and his sons, Happy and Biff, shows that family ties usually are connected either physically or emotionally in some way or another. Willy Loman is just like every father in a father/son bond, yet all he wants is to be a part of his son s life. Even though Biff and Happy admire and have so much love for their father when they are younger, later down the road when they are older suddenly they realize he had failed to prepare them for the real society in life. Many people would say that in the play that the father/son ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All Willy really wants is to be a part of his son s lives and, Miller shows this by the example of when in the play Biff comes home to recollect himself, Willy seems to think this as a failure because he would rather see his eldest son be likely more successful rather than his youngest, Happy. Hereafter, Willy tries to take matter into his own hands, I ll get him a job selling, he could be big in no time , he says to Linda (1215). Partially due to Willy s consistency in Biff s life conflicts start to erupt more partially to do with the fact being that they had different ideas of what the American Dream really is. With Biff believing that the most inspiring job to a man is working outdoors, his father disregarded by saying that working on the road selling was the greatest job a man could possibly have (1276). The boys are clearly not at all fully functioning adults because of their upbringing throughout their life. Another major issue in the play with the father/son relationship between Willy and his sons is the amount of love shown towards them. The continuous support from growing up had molded the Lomans into men who always fled back home whenever a problem approached. Biff says to Willy, I never got anywhere because you blew me so full of hot air I could not stand taking orders from anybody! (1275). The Loman brothers were babied so much all through their ... Although the really is that many adolescents are obtaining part time employment while in high school. According Santrock (2014) It is estimated that 80 to 90 percent of adolescents are employed at some point during high school (p.387). I do agree that there are some potentially positive influences. Some of the advantageous that a working adolescent may experience are the development of autonomy, social learning, and intergenerational harmony and contribute to the continuity between adolescence and adulthood (Greenberger Steinberg, 1981. p.691). However, I believe that there are much more disadvantages than advantageous. One of the disadvantages is that they may not have time for school, family, and friends. An adolescent s first priority should be obtaining a higher education. When they work they may place more emphasis on their employment instead of their education. Also, they may become stressed out to fulfill their numerous commitments. They will have to effectively balance their time to study and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, one reason is they will have to balance their school obligations and work obligations. One research study found that it was not just working, but the long hours that affected their grades (Greenberger Steinberg, 1986. p.691). This can cause a great deal of stress in their life. For instance, if an adolescent works at McDonalds waiting on customers they may feel stress in ensuring that they meet the expected time frames and to provide customers with a quick and accurate service. • 6. Decision Analysis Task 1 JGT2 Decision Analysis Task 1 A.) Recommendation on how to improve current workflow. It is my recommendation that Shuzworld change their facilities layout to create a better workflow. You can accomplish this by breaking the current structure and reorganizing the workstations to accomplish tasks in a more time efficient manner and maximizing an employees time spent on the product. Utilizing the Case Study we can surmise that each eight hour shift must produce forty eight work boots. 8 hours times 60 minutes equals 480 minutes. 480 minutes (The Work Shift) divided by 48 (the number of work boots required) equals 10. The learning curve can be used and is based on the assumption that as people continue to perform a task that will become more proficient at it and will become more efficient as well. The coefficient approach of analyzing this learning curve seemed to be the best option in this scenario. You can use a simple formula to calculate the hours needed for each grouping my multiplying the required time of the first grouping by the coefficient of the grouping you are trying to discover. This tool provided the most simple means to discover the required hours of each grouping. C. Essay on The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas Throughout the beginning of the Aeneid Dido, the queen of Carthage, and Aeneas, son of Venus and leader of the Trojans have an intimate relationship that ends in death. The relationship begins in Book I when Venus, the goddess of love, has her other son Cupid fill Dido with passion for Aeneas, to ensure Aeneas s safety in this new land. Meanwhile Venus/Plotted new stratagems, that Cupid, changed/ In form and feature, should appear instead/ Of young Ascanius, and by his gifts/ Inspire the queen to passion, with his fire/ Burning her very bones. (67) This is an excellent example of Dido s inability to control her passion, whereas she resembles the fire, and the wounds make the fire grow deeper. The reference to her marrowbones is probably in place to reinforce the lust that cupid had burned within her bones earlier. Her burning passion for Aeneas makes her grow physically sick. Dido has realized that her relationship with Aeneas is over, and that her compelling passion for him will bring her to an end, and she is still unable to change the course of events. When Dido learns about Aeneas s departure she is overcome by rage, and despair, which brings her to the decision that she will kill herself. Then Dido prays for death at last; (488). She has hoped that Aeneas would fall and die, untimely, let him like unburied on the sand. (662). At this time she lies down on the funeral pyre and stabs herself with Aeneas s sword. • 8. The Marketing Of The Beer Industry The U.S. beer industry is a highly concentrated industry since two large firms (Anheuser Busch InBev and MillerCoors) occupy a significant market share. As the craft beer industry experiences an explosive growth, the competition becomes fierce. As the largest craft brewery and the seventh largest brewery in the United States, the Boston Beer Company is facing growing competitive threats from larger breweries and premium imported beer companies, including Anheuser Busch InBev, MillerCoors, Heineken, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium Brewing, and Crown Imports. More than that, it has to face the competitive challenges from the small breweries, which are growing rapidly and want to surpass the Boston Beer Company. Samuel Adams produced by the Boston Beer Company is one of the most popular craft beer because it has won more awards in the beer tasting competitions than any other brewery in the world since 2000 (Dess et al. C129). As the competition within the craft beer industry, the Boston Beer Company has to figure out a way to maintain growth, increase customer awareness, and continue to brew flavorful beers that customers enjoy. Porter s Five Forces on the general Beer Industry Industry rivalry is considered high because of the acquisition, the decline of the beer consumption, and the rise of the craft brewing sector. Competition among the beer companies in the industry is based on brand and quality. In recent years, the industry has also consolidated quite notably with the top two ... A great leader is someone who knows not only their own strengths and weaknesses, but the organization s as well. The best leaders can also fully differentiate when it is time to work and when it is time to have fun. This may be typical of traditional higher education organizations. However, online universities have the unique ability to appeal to a wider population of students and staff without the common incidents of racism, bigotry, and ageism experienced at brick and mortar universities. Following is a description of how WGU appeals to a diverse student population and ensures a diverse population of faculty. Student Stakeholders There are multiple ways WGU appeals to a diverse student population. One way is through television advertisement. Along with the main university, WGU has many state based universities that promote their institution with local advertising. The advertising provided in each state varies based upon the needs of the target students in that state. An example is an advertisement used by WGU Texas that depicts graduation that features a pregnant mother who was able to finish her degree while being pregnant and taking care of her other children. To add another element to the advertisement s appeal, the pregnant mother is also African American. Another method to increase diversity on the student side of the university ... • 11. Richard Scrushy and HealthSouth Essay Introduction HealthSouth is one of the nation s largest healthcare providers specializing in rehabilitation. HealthSouth was founded by Richard M. Scrushy in 1984 and went public in 1986. Scrushy served as its Chairman of the Board from 1994 to 2002. The company was incorporated in January 1984 as Amcare Inc. before its name was changed to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Corporation in May 1985. In January of 2003, Mr. Scrushy reassumed the position of CEO. HealthSouth grew rapidly during the 1980 s and 1990 s. This growth was largely due to acquisitions. Were there any early warning signs that may have predicted this type of behavior in Mr. Scrushy? Perhaps what we need is a scale for measuring the moral development or character of the officers to whom the financial status and reports of the company are entrusted (Jennings, 2005, p. 44 45). One measurement that can be used is a look into their personal lives. An evaluation of the private conduct of the executive can often prove to be insightful and a predictor of future behaviors. How we treat those who are the closest to us and, at least in theory, the most important is telling (Jennings, 2005, p.45). Mr. Scrushy was married to wife number three and is the father of eight children by three different women. Impact on Stakeholders Richard Scrushy s management style was one that fostered intimidation and fear amongst his employees. The weekly Monday morning meetings were often called Monday morning beatings when the actual budget numbers did not meet the forecasted expectations. Every Monday morning he grilled his division chiefs on the profits in their areas of responsibility and publicly berated any subordinate who failed to meet his expectations (Solieri, Felo Hodowanitz, 2008, p. 342). William Blake Thesis Throughout recent decades there has been a clear shift in moral rationale with many of the practices found within western society, particularly those involving children performing dangerous labor intensive activities. Although child labor may seem like a thing of the past to those living in the first world, it is well and alive around the globe. Child labor is prevalent in various developing nations throughout Asia, Africa, and South America; where both child labor and child slavery run rampant today. Modern society is troubled by remnants of the past that exist today, not only due the pervasive exploitation of child labor in developing nations, but also because of the fact that child labor is undeniably at an all time high. The Chimney Sweeper is a poem by William Blake that attempts to shed light on the bleak and dreadful experiences of children working as chimney sweepers. Blake integrates religion in his poems to describe the salvation children desire while working brutal and agonizing jobs. In his poem, Blake writes [that] thousands of sweepers... locked up in coffins of black ... by came an Angel who had a bright key, And he opened the coffins set them all free (Blake, 11 14). The idea that a child of that era was capable of thinking such grim dreams shows the tragic those children lived, and that these children were hopeless. The harrowing events of the Holocaust and Nazi occupation of the Netherlands left little room for tenderness towards other people yet, as Betsie ten Boom, Corrie s older sister showed time and time again, it is always possible to find it within oneself to forgive another, especially with God s assistance. Betsie forgives Jan Vogel, the man who betrayed the ten Boom family to the German army. Self Confidence and Determining One s Achievement Nature verses Nurture, it is one of the most important topics in many areas of studies such as psychology, medicine, developmental science, and so on. This concept leads to the well known topic: Individual s innate talent or self confidence, which one functions as the crucial key to the road of success? In reality, when people see a professional in a certain area instruments, compositions, mathematics, etc., they say that person is so talented! Although those people would not deny the effort factor, they still think that the innate talent is the essential element to succeed. However, scholars already published gargantuan amount of research papers to inform that the self confidence functions as the main factor in order to success (Bénabou). To verify the exact term self confidence from the dictionary, it is the self assurance in one s personal judgment, ability, power, etc. (The Oxford Dictionary, Chandra). But, research papers and dictionaries only illustrate the self confidence lead people to achieve their goals, but not the intensity of the self confidence that is needed. My definition of self confidence that leads to achievement is having less self assurance, and it can adjust one s goal more feasible and pragmatic; therefore, it is the critical factor in determining one s achievement. It is a cliché in common senses that people with high confidence tends to succeed in their career and life; people often think that the high confidence is a blessing whereas the ... I think that the crowd reacted the way they did is because everything adapts to its environment. So going back to the title it s showing that the crowd is having a tremendous time. The title Clever Tom Clinch is ironic because the word Clever is used to describe Tom Clinch. In reality I believe that Tom Clinch is attempting to be clever whereas if he were intelligent he would have never been caught in the first place. His waistcoat and stockings and breeches were white this could have shown that he was witty because his garments were white which associates with an angel. He considered that he could have swindled them into believing that he was innocent. Jonathan Swift wrote the poem Clever Tom Clinch using swift and dexterous movements. He had also used rhyming couplets throughout the poem. My opinion for why the poet decided to do this is because when the reader is reading, he is reading in a continuous rhythm and flow. This helps the reader to carry on reading. Clever Tom Clinch has been written in the form of a ballad, which means that there is a narrator, which is telling you what is happening throughout the poem. • 20. Social and Reproductive Monogamy in Vole Rats Social and Reproductive Monogamy in Vole Rats Reproductive monogamy is defined as an exclusive sexual relationship between a female and a male based on their sexual interactions. Social Monogamy refers to male and female s social living arrangement without sexual interactions. It refers to the living patterns, raising offsprings, and obtaining food. Monogamy is common in birds, but also occurs in invertebrates. Why would a male mammal choose to mate with one female when he can mate with more than one? Why would the male stay around instead of finding another female to live with? Many researchers have attempted to answer this question of why some mammals prefer monogamy over polygamy. Vole rats, one of the species that perform monogamous mating, demonstrate pair boding. Male and female pairs of vole rats have been observed together over several months, and the males stay with females even when the female is not reproductively active. A typical vole family in the wild is almost always consisted of one male, one female, and their offspring. In addition, unlike other species in which females are the only ones taking care of the offspring, vole rats share parental roles and even build nests together. Because they show these monogamous behaviors, they have served as a good species/model to learn about monogamy for neuroscientists. In this paper, monogamy, specifically in vole rats, will be explained along with its proximate and ultimate causes of this adaptation. There are two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, Fromm attempted to synthesize capitalism and Marxist humanism to form a society based on becoming. For example, scientists dismember natural systems to understand their function and origin. Scientists may gain knowledge, but at the price of killing or damaging the system they were observing. Overconsumption and pollution will always be a problem for as long as mankind view the natural world as something to have or to own. An antithesis to Fromm s assertion is that interfering with the natural world does not harm it (or plucking the flower will not kill it). New France wanted to take the fur trade away from the Iroquois Confederacy. The Native Americans valued the fur trade because it was their primary forms of trade at the time. Over the span of twenty years New France and the Iroquois Confederacy would have turmoil until they signed a treaty that made them neutral. Conflict amongst the settlers and the Native Americans were also present in Virginia and New England. In Virginia, Nathaniel Bacon led his people to use violence to push the Native Americans to the west; this conflict became known as the Bacon Rebellion. They wanted to utilize their land for inhabiting their community and for expansion of trade. In New England they tried to dismantle the Indian tribes such as the Wampanoag s, Nipmucks, Narragansett s, and Abenaki s. This was accomplished through King Phillip leading the New Englanders into war against the Native Americans. Eventually, the natives supply of food and weaponry diminished greatly. After their resources declined many of the Natives left were enslaved or passed away due to illness. Even though the Indians faced great adversity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basically, biggest increases will most likely be in the least wealthy countries those countries that are least equipped to meet the requirements of the new arrivals and invest in their future. This term is called Euthanasia, which is defined as the intentional termination of person s life, usually but not always at the person s request, and usually the context of terminal illness or incurable suffering. Euthanasia has been categorized in terms of active or passive actions, and voluntary, non voluntary, and involuntary actions. The possibilities of the patient to be coerced into the act due the inability to accurately determine the level of sufferer s competency. Technical difficulties are also a concern for the anti euthanasia group. If the medical professional make a diagnostic error and goes ahead with euthanasia, the patient would not be given the chance to future treatment and procedures that would have offered a possibility of living. The patient s suffering might be extended if there was a technical failure in administering an easy death. This might be due to individual physiological difference that would cause a common euthanasia procedure to produce a different account, hence prolonging the patient s suffering. Opinions against euthanasia also defend their stance with the spiritual or religious belief of eternal punishment for committing any act of suicide. For some, they encourage the principle of double effect where treatment provided is aimed at elevating the pain but also causes death. The most dubious logic of the anti euthanasia supporters is the Slippery Slope argument. This provides an ethical landscape when making social changes in the society. It is a general belief that s socially and legally accepting voluntary euthanasia would trigger the abuse of involuntary and non voluntary euthanasia.
