France and Human Rights
The French judicial system was established by Roman codified law and founded by Napoleon I in
1804 (Aguilera, p. 4). The French Constitution was formally declared on October 4, 1958, under the
Fifth Republic. Similar to the United States Constitution, the French Constitution can be amended by
the chambers of Parliament or a referendum. The last amendment to the French Constitution took
place on July 18, 2008. The revision impacted judicial powers as well as civil rights; it provided the
judicial branch a meaningful structure to examine past legislation to verify constitutionality. Within
the judicial system there is a Constitutional Council, which operates in a different capacity than other
democratic Supreme Courts. The Constitutional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with caricatures of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. After selling out of all the normal issues, the

Death And The King Horseman Analysis
In an interview with The Guardian (2009) Wole Soyinka explained that the motivation behind writing
Death and the King s Horseman was a bust of colonialist, Winston Churchill. To Soyinka, Churchill
signified the breaking of the Yoruba culture and traditions. The idea for the play came from an
instance during the colonial period in Nigeria, when the British intervened in the traditional suicide of
a king s horseman.
The title itself already makes reference to a Nigerian ritual in which the horseman of a king must kill
himself after the death of the king (McNulty, 2011:2). The biggest event of cultural misunderstanding
is evident in Act II when the British Officer, Pilkings, orders that Elesin Oba (the horseman) be
arrested. Joseph (the stableboy) tells the Pilkingses how it is tradition for the king to be burried a
month after his death but, before he can be burried, his dog, his steed and his horseman must die to be
able to accompany him to heaven. For long this tradition is questioned and contested by the Pilkingses
because how can something like that make sense to anybody? It is only once Olunde shows up in Act
IV that the playwright changes the context. Olunde compares the suicide of the horseman to the mass
killing of soldiers. He judges the Western customs of war in the same way the Westerners criticized his
traditions and people. And when Simon manages to stop Elesin from killing himself, Olunde turns his
back on his father at first, after which all the people from the market insults Elesin. His failure in the
task is seen as a weak will.
Another custom that is present is when, in Act II, the officer and his wife are getting ready for a ball
and Amusa shows up. Amusa refuses to speak to Pilkings because of his costume, a uniform the
Yoruban culture believes brings death. He tells Pilkings to put on other clothes as It is a matter of
death. How can a man talk against death to a person in uniform of death? p25. The British officer
cannot understand the rubbish because it is not part of his customs. To him it is clothing a fun outift to
wear to the ball with no abilitiy to cause death. But no matter how he tries to explain it, Amusa keeps
strong in his belief.
A simple thing to a Westerner, such as a

The Pros And Cons Of Planned Parenthood
V) Planned Parenthood
To reiterate how important symbol creation and media framing are to modern scandals, look no further
than the allegations brought on family planning organization Planned Parenthood in 2015. In many
ways, the scandals themselves were nearly identical in composition. David Daleiden, a journalist and
founder of the pro life group the Center for Medical Progress, accumulated undercover footage at
eleven Planned Parenthood offices claiming to be a representative for a fetal tissue procurement
business. In the footage, abortion clinic doctors and executives [admit] that their fetal tissue
procurement agreements are profitable for clinics and help keep their bottom line healthy. A report
from the Center for Medical Progress goes into detail about Planned Parenthood works with
StemExpress, LLC, and several other companies which supposedly profit off of fetal tissue.
In fact, though the Center for Medical Progress does not seem to be affiliated with any larger
organization like biggovernment.com was with Breitbart, there is a relatively noticeable attention to
academic detail in his approach to investigative journalism. The report previously mentioned has full
citations (most of them are either references to small, conservative news sites or citations from their
own website) and there is a portion of centerformedicalprogress.org entirely dedicated to archived
documents taken from Planned Parenthood chapters, including fetus tissue invoices and pricing

Native American Blindness
This disease is one of the most used disease due to the product being developed for it and the product
actually being able to help restore the condition back to normal. Currently the Argus II is also being
tested for people with more common conditions like age related eye vision loss.
Even though the pictures patients saw that were produced by the artificial eye were way far from
being the ideal type to call someone not blind, they did let the patient see clear enough to allow them
to recognize faces who they would otherwise not be able to see. This breakthrough in the bionic eyes
is going to benefit lots of patients with common blindness, macular degeneration, all which affect

If humans can restore the full sight to a blind person what can they do to a person who is not blind and
is capable of normal sight. The possibilities are endless as many things can be done and many doctors
are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you
superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible
spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum,
from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even
look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing
topic of the future. With a camera as an eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and out
like a camera lens, have UV vision, record what we see, and even automatically be able to sync it to
the net with our Wi Fi connected eyes. This is all just speculation but there s no denying that this type
of technology as innovative as it is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. Having bionic
eyes will open up a broad array of applications in multiple fields such as studying microbes without
having to carry all the equipment needed to see under the microscope, soldiers will be able to detect
mines in a field, airports will be able to make their security stronger and more secure as

Ghana Middle Passage
1. Ghana, Mali, Songhai
The Kingdom of Ghana was the first of the great trading kingdoms that made iron which gave them an
advantage against other groups in West Africa whom the conquered. The Kingdom of Ghana was at
the center of African trade routes and the Ghana grew rich by taxing the traders and thus creating a
great empire.
A second great kingdom of Africa was the Kingdom of Mali. It was twice the size of the Kingdom of
Ghana. Mali had captured the gold producing areas and brought the trade of gold and salt to the area.
Like Ghana before it, Mali became rich and powerful. However, unlike Ghana (which did not accept
Islam), the Kingdom of Mali acceptance of Islam give them closer ties to the cities of North Africa. As

Amazon then uses this information and knowledge to market new product releases based on each
customer s unique interests. Possible data management issues may stem from the length of time it
takes Amazon to update information on their website. Invalid data can cause confusion on what
products are currently available. A customer s online shopping experience may end negatively, if
during checkout they discover some selections are unavailable due to a negative inventory. Another
concern is maintaining and updating security networks needed to verify personal information, and
protecting customers against identity theft. Amazon uses e business and e commerce for the buying

Secret And Forbidden Love In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The...

Title
Nathaniel Hawthorne s book The Scarlet Letter is a story of secret and forbidden love as well as the
cause and effect of this forbidden love, the setting is a Puritan colony in Boston, Massachusetts around
1750. The main character Hester Prynne, a God fearing Puritan living within this community, gets
caught in the act of adultery when she is discovered to be with child whilst having no husband. During
this era, the punishment for adultery forced the adulteress or adulterer to wear a scarlet letter A upon
their bosom. While staying in prison, following the discovery of her sin, Hester gave birth to a
beautiful baby girl, which she named Pearl. Although some may choose to look upon pearl as a gift
from the devil, or as a rotten curse, Pearl grows to become a reflection of both individual and
collective human conscience, a personification of the scarlet letter, and a symbol of light. Pearl
represents a physical form of many character s consciences throughout the novel. For instance, she is
the voice of the collective conscience within her community when she points the crooked finger at
Hester in the forest. Everywhere Hester goes, Pearl must follow and so she is a constant reminder to
Hester that she must wear the scarlet letter at all times, while on their walk in Chapter 16, Pearl tells
her mother that the sunshine does not (274) love her and it runs away and hides itself (274)because it
is afraid of the letter. However, after Hester has cast off the letter A Pearl refuses to come to her. Pearl
often highlights and brings attention to Hester s scarlet letter by inquiring about its purpose, this shows
that while she may represent the conscience of those around her, she is still a little girl trying to
understand the world around her. Pearl is not only of manifestation of a community conscience but she
is most importantly a physical manifestation of Arthur Dimmesdale s conscience. She sees most
clearly his inner desires and she is attracted to him from the beginning. During their first encounter
when Pearl is still practically a newborn, she reaches for Dimmesdale, and while he notices he does

Earth And The Solar System
Each and every planet, moon, and rock in our solar system is different in many different ways.
Surprisingly a lot of the known knowledge about our planets comes from guessing. Well not just
random guessing smart guessing. Studying Earth can tell us a lot about other planets and what they are
made of. Let s start at the core of planets, literally. Terrestrial planets like Earth and Mars have cores
made of Iron. While the Jovian planets like Saturn and Jupiter have rocky cores. Scientists have
multiple ways to probe the interiors of planets. The cores of each planet are a mixture of both solid
and/or liquid. Planets spin just like a top, they wobble. The wobble in a planet is called precession. If a
planet twists as it wobbles chances are it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you fly a spacecraft near a planet you can measure how it is affected by the gravity. When the
spacecraft flies closer to a planet it becomes more affected by the inner layers of the planets interior.
Chemical fractionation is the process early in the formation of a planet that influences its structure of
its interior is gravity. Gravity causes heavier elements to sink to the core of a planet. The thickness of
a planet s crust is directly proportional to the rate at which the planet cooled in the past. Smaller
planets cool faster. The cooling rate is proportional to the total mass of the planet. Large planets cool
slower and have thinner crusts. High cooling rates also determine the interior structure. Slower
cooling rates implies that planets still have warm interiors now. Warmer interiors imply more a
diversified structure. This is why mars is red, since it is smaller it cooled faster and elements like iron
stayed on the surface before sinking toward the core, which is why it also doesn t have a strong
magnetic field like
Earth. It is also worth noting that a thicker crust means less tectonic activity.
The best way to determine a terrestrial planets interior is by using seismology. A device called a
seismometer measures sheers from Earth quakes, or Moon/Mars quakes. When a planet quakes it
sends waves rippling through the planets interior, the denser the layer the shorter the wavelength. Of

Imperialism In India
Imperialism in India had many positive effects and negative effects. India was introduced to more
technology and ways of communication. It also lead to an increase of population and regular living.
But, it also lead to India being dependent on Britain and lead to famine. There were many positive
effects from this. Great Britain and other industrialized countries introduced more transportation
methods and communication like telephones. These things improved cars, roads that can now be
paved, postal networks, and trains. More advanced and high tech machines were made. This being
brought to India helped industrialize new colonies. These machines were made for manufacturing
goods, electricity, cars, vaccines, steel, guns, and steam engines. After colonization, education like

Britain taught herders the process of crop rotation to fertilize their land. Not only did Britain help
them with that, but they also connected India to the modern world through all of this technology,
medicine, and media. The last benefit was cleaning up. Sanitation was not very important until they
were taught cleanliness for health and basic hygiene. From all of the benefits I have talked about, you
might think Britain was great to India, but they also caused so many problems. Wars with Britain, also
against leaders by Great Britain, took money away from India. The East India Trading Company
would buy materials and goods at a very low price while selling their processed goods at a very high
price price. Britain also ruined India s previous economy and industries as a result of Britain making
them import their goods from Britain and not allowing them buy their own goods from India. Because

Hastings, Hercule Poirot s partner and assistant, returns to Britain, just as Poirot receives a sinister

Andover, on the 21st of the month.
Just as stated in the letter, something happens on the 21st. A woman in Andover, named Alice Asher,
turns up dead. On the crime scene an ABC railway guide is found, and Andover is marked. The police
believes that this is just a coincidence, and that the letter and the murder are not connected.

Analysis of Hercules Poirot:
Hercules Poirot is a cunning belgian private detective. He is a very plain character, and troughout the
film, he does not undergo any changes to his personality. His plain character is very characteristic for
the british crime fictions. This is aimed, towards keeping the puzzle in the center of attention.
Poirot would never engage in violence, instead he uses his famous little grey cells to solve the puzzles.
Poirot does not believe in coincidences, which is seen several times in the film. Even though he is
little, he stands tall.
From start to finish Poirot is teaching Hastings about being a detective, and how to catch the real
clues. This is very common in crime fiction, and it tends to happen quite often in crime novels and
films. This also happens in the Sherlock Holmes novels/films, where Sherlock Holmes is teaching Dr.
Watson how to think, and how to observe.
Poirot is very smart and guileful, in the way he plays tricks on the murdered peoples relatives. He is a
man of pride and dignity, and in his own eyes he is the best detective in the world.

Journey The Wardrobe Of Parallels
Journey the Wardrobe of Parallels The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is
a fantasy novel written by C. S. Lewis. The fairytale is set in a magical world with no limits to the
imagination. Endangered by World War II, four siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy
where sent by their mom to live with Professor Kirke in a big house in the countryside of London. In
the house there are many rooms and many doors. While playing hide in seek, the youngest child, Lucy
discovers a wardrobe that is a gateway that leads to another world called Narnia. Throughout the story
there are significant portrayals of Christianity and spiritual symbolism in this inspirational literary
masterpiece. The fairytale The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe reveal characters and events that
have symbolic similarities that are connected to the events described in the Bible. According to the
Oxford Dictionary, the definition of symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities: it
s a style using symbolic images and indirect suggestion to express mystical ideas, emotions, and states
of mind. A symbol is an ordinary object, event, person, or animal to which we have attached meaning
and significance. For instance, the wardrobe is to symbolize the magical world of Narnia. However,
nothing in and of the wardrobe independently represents the magical world of Narnia; the meaning is
attributed to the wardrobe symbolically. Symbolism plays an important role by being

Marine Corps Research Papers
The United States Marine Corps In the Bible it says that the greatest act of love is to lay down one s
life for one s friend, but most people would never have the courage to do so. The few, the proud , the
United States Marine Corps, sacrifice themselves for their country each and every day. They give up
their peace, prosperity, the people and possessions they love, so the rest of the world doesn t have to
feel the loss that they do. Because the Marine Corps is such an important part of our military,
Americans should understand its inception, its integration and introduction of women, its symbolic
uniforms, its perilous boot camp, its ranks, its achievements, and its terms. On November 10th, 1775,
Continental Congress called for two battalion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

they work on things like physical training, martial arts, history classes, and first aid classes. They also
learn weapons handling and complete the confidence course (an 11 station obstacle course). In phase
one they learn values like honor, courage, and commitment. Phase two (weeks 5 9) is where they
develop proficiency and confidence with rifles. They spend time on the field fire range and complete
their training and rifle qualifications. The recruits also undergo gas chamber training. Finally, at the
end of phase two, they complete the crucible. During the crucible the recruits get 8 hours of sleep
during a 54 hour exercise. They are responsible for their own food rationing. The crucible begins at 3
a.m., where they march 40 miles to the site. The march back after the completion begins at 4 a.m.
They sing Jody calls (military cadence calls) the entire way back and end at the Iwo JIma memorial.
The color guard raises the flag and the chaplain reads a prayer. Then, the sergeant addresses the
recruits and shakes their hands. They receive the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem and are finally

The Magna Carta Charter
na Carta Charter The Magna Carta charter has been credited as one of England s earliest attempts at a
semi democratic community following the dissipation of the Athenian democracy and the Roman
Republic, among others. The charter was drafted at Runnymede on 15 June 1215 in an attempt to
address long overdue socio economic and political problems that had plagued the region over a 500
year period. Despite the long standing history associated with the charter s spirit, some of the key
reasons for its drafting include King John s exploitation and destruction of the baron families through
over taxation efforts or scutage that were designed to fund and refund military campaigns in both
France and Normandy against King Philip II . His failures and eventual return to England in 1214
sparked a rebellion that would eventually facilitate the charter s ratification. There can be no doubt as
to the wealth of this history and its association with a free, democratic society. This, however, does not
legitimize the notion of England being the originator of modern democracy. In fact, the charter was
more about the devolution of power within the nobility than the citizenship. In this regard, while it
provided numerous provisions that would eventually protect the public, its main agenda was to limit
the chances of absolutism and improve the autonomy, rights, powers, and freedoms of barons. Its
longevity is another matter of concern as the charter would soon be revised in the course of King

Homework In High School
Now onto fourth grade when old friends were leaving and new friends were arriving, and our

given every week, and don t forget the multiple projects we had to do. One project we had to do was
the State Project , and so I picked Missouri because that summer before I went to St. Louis. At this
point in my life I was still growing, in height, but I was literally a string bean (really skinny) and very
dysfunctional; that didn t stop me from playing basketball though. I was ok at basketball in the fourth

When Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is called to The Louvre on account of Jacques Sauniere s

seems like randomly strewn numbers, but Langdon knows that Sauniere is a smart man, and that they
must mean something. Before he can possibly make any sense of it, Agent Sophie Neveu from the

Observation Of The Orme Pond
Introduction: Last week, we have a chance to do a lab experiment with the Orme pond in our school.
The purpose of this lab is to help us to have a closer look at an ecosystem and how things function in
it. Besides, it provides us a chance to observe organisms and work with the microscope. Previously in
class, we all read the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. In A Mother s Work , she
talked about her pond, and surprisingly, her pond is very similar to the pond we are observing and
writing about.

Many animals and insects live in and on the water surface such as bugs, dragonflies, spiders, snails,
fishes,...
The water was cold although under the hot weather.
The air temperature around the pond was mild.

The Island Of The Galapagos Archipeggio
Isabela Island, the largest island of the Galápagos archipeggio, seemed to rise straight out of the water.
The sedimentary rock cliffs were rusty brown, but were covered with life. Red and black crabs rested
on the surface, while blue footed boobies gracefully dived into the water to catch sardines. Baby nazca
boobies peered out of their nests to see a small inflatable boat, known as a panga, bobbing in the
water. Our guide, Christina, enthusiastically shared her knowledge of these animals to my family. This
wildlife viewing boat ride was our plan for the afternoon. But things changed. As things always
change.
The sun was starting to set in the west, over the Bolivar Channel. The sea seemed calm, but a bird
would occasionally skim the surface. My family and I watched the horizon intently. The Bolivar
Channel was known for having the best marine wildlife viewings in the Galápagos. In the far distance,
water was displaced. Mist flew in the air, forming the shape of a miniature fountain. Could it be a
whale spout? Or was it just my imagination? Quietly, I told my sister Raley. However, it was not quiet
enough. Christina heard and immediately started to scour the area with her binoculars. What if there
was no marine life in the area? I was convinced I would die of embarrassment.
Suddenly, Christina dropped her binoculars.
I see it! It s a whale spout!
Immediately, our panga raced off full speed to the location of the whale spout. However, as we inched

Examples Of Calvinism In The Devil And Tom Walker
The Devil and Tom Walker (1824) by Washington Irving is a faustian tale about a man named Tom
Walker who develops a relationship and strikes a life altering deal with the devil. The short story takes
place in the time period of 1727 near Boston, Massachusetts when Puritans were very prevalent and
the ideas of Calvinism were contemplated by many. A main aspect of Calvinism Washington Irving
disagrees with is called predestination. This belief is when one does not have control of their afterlife
because it is already chosen by God. I ll be exploring Calvinist and Puritan beliefs along with the
concept of the faustian deal to show why Irving had Tom Walker agree to such a lopsided pact with
the devil. To further understand Tom Walker s personality and how it contradicted Calvinism, I will
also be exploring what was the perception of death for Bostonian Puritans around 1727?
Understanding the Puritan perception of death is central to understanding why Tom easily sold his
soul to the devil. Through the encounter with the devil at the Native American stronghold, Tom s wife
dying and the faustian deal, Washington Irving shows he is against the Calvinist belief of
predestination brought to the Massachusetts Bay colonies. The nature of the Native American
stronghold and remarks said here by the devil are interesting examples of how Washington Irving
shows he is against the concept of predestination. Predestination is both introduced for the first time in
the short story and is

Health Of Achieving Health And Wellness
Achieving health and wellness is a highly individualized, dynamic process that is characterized by six
interrelated dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and environmental health.
The focus of this paper is my physical health as it relates to wellness.
Furthermore, the objective of focusing on my physical health is to identify current health behaviors
and factors that may be impacting and prohibiting me from achieving optimal physical health. Using
the Transtheoretical Model for Stages of Change1 as a guide, I will identify a specific health behavior
I am seeking to improve, and outline an action plan to achieve and maintain good physical health.
In assessing my health behaviors, I have identified three specific behaviors that have negatively
impacted my physical health: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and inadequate sleep. The factors
that I attribute to these current heath behaviors are: a lack of social support and guidance, the
nutritional value of foods consumed (as related to the culture in which I was raised), and time
management.
I attribute my lack of physical activity to an absence of social support and guidance in my life. For
example, my mother suffers with cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet rarely engages in physical
activity. Five years ago, my mother had a heart attack, and underwent an angioplasty2 in order to
receive a stent3. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Fallacy Paper
Fallacies are committed in every state, in every city and in every neighborhood. No race or gender is
impervious to committing a fallacy. So, what is a fallacy? Patrick J. Hurley defines a fallacy as, A
defect in an argument that consists in something other than false premises alone. These defects result
in misconception in an argument. Many times they are accidental, other times they are committed on
purpose. However, either way, fallacies can be very persuasive to the casual reader or listener. One in
particular, the false cause fallacy, is used quite often in today s society. Hurley states that, The fallacy
of false cause occurs whenever the link between premises and conclusion depends on some imagined

A remedy society knows as trial and error. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) use
fallacies in almost all of their advertisements. In fact, Veggie Love, a super bowl video ad by PETA,
claims that vegetarians have better sex. In the video, gorgeous women dressed in lingerie are groping
broccoli, asparagus and even a licking a pumpkin. This video commits the false cause fallacy because
it expresses that people are having great sex because they are vegetarians. In addition, if a person
wants to have great sex, they need to become a vegetarian. It is also possible that an argument commit
more than one fallacy at a time. This video also commits the hasty generalization fallacy, because it
states that if you eat vegetables you will have great sex with gorgeous women, therefore the obvious
conclusion is that all vegetarians have great sex! To tell these two different types of fallacies apart a
reader or listener must know what defines these two types of fallacies. Because Veggie Love focuses
on vegetarians and great sex, and PETA claims that there is a causal connection between the two, it
can be defined as a false cause fallacy. Because the video also claims that people who eat vegetables
have great sex, we can assume that all vegetarians have great sex which can be defined as

The Mythological Accounts of the Founding of Rome
The mythological accounts of the founding of Rome are:
Aeneas as Founder of Rome:
The Trojan prince Aeneas is sometimes credited with the founding of Rome as the culmination of his
post Trojan War adventures, but the version of the Roman foundation myth that is most familiar is that
of Romulus, the first king of Rome.
Birth of Romulus and Remus
Romulus and Remus were twin brothers, the sons of a virgin named Rhea Silvia ( also called Ilia) and
the god Mars, according to legend. The grandfather, Numitor, and the great uncle, Amulius, who
between them divided the wealth and kingdom of Alba Longa, a city founded by Aeneas son Ascanius,

Ascanius, son of Aeneas, decided to build a new city, which he named Alba Longa, under the Alban
Mountain.
Alba Longa was the hometown of Romulus and Remus, who were separated from Aeneas by about a
dozen generations
Aeneas was hospitably entertained at the house of Latinus; there Latinus, in the presence of his
household gods, cemented the public league by a family one, by giving Aeneas his daughter in
marriage. This event fully confirmed the Trojans in the hope of at length terminating their wanderings
by a lasting and permanent settlement. They built a town, which Aeneas called Lavinium after the
name of his wife. Shortly afterward also, a son was the issue of the recently concluded marriage, to
whom his parents gave the name of Ascanius.
Plutarch on Possible Founders of Rome:
... Roma, from whom this city was so called, was daughter of Italus and Leucaria; or, by another
account, of Telephus, Hercules s son, and that she was married to Aeneas, or ... to Ascanius, Aeneas s
son. Some tell us that Romanus, the son of Ulysses and Circe, built it; some, Romus the son of
Emathion, Diomede having sent him from Troy; and others, Romus, king of the Latins, after driving
out the Tyrrhenians, who had come from Thessaly into Lydia, and from thence into Italy.

Shoulder instability is commonly seen in rehabilitation settings. Many patients come in either with

Exercise is an effective key component in achieving stability of the shoulder. Therapeutic

For Tesco to set its goal and to satisfy all its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, employees, the

consist of:
The quality objective: want to do things right
The quality objective for Tesco means that the operation manager makes sure of that the store
environment looks good so that it attract customers, and that they provide customer service. If Tesco
provides good customer service and makes sure of keeping the environment looking good, the
customers are more likely to come back instead of going to Tesco s competitors.
The quality inside the operation is also important. If someone makes a mistake within the operation,
time and money must be spent correcting this mistake.
If the operation have not reordered all the goods they need, this can lead to irritated customers and
lower revenue for the operation.
The speed objective: want to do things fast
The speed objectives is concerned with how long time it will take the customer to get to the store, buy
the product and arrive back home again. The customers would like to do this as quick as possible and
Tesco s operation managers should try to make this process quicker than its competitors.
Speed is also important inside the operation. If the movement of materials and information is not

Summary Of Coach Fitz Management Theory
The essay Coach Fitz Management Theory was written by Michael Lewis and the stories mentioned
were based on past and present comparisons. Most of the ideologies strictly informed that the process
is essential, and while Fitz talks about winning, it is the desire and not the victory that is important.
There are many examples that refer back to the different statements about winning versus the process.
Valuing the process towards a particular goal and perfecting that process will provide you with the
success desired. On the other hand, the ability to provide the process, which includes self motivation
and hard work necessary. The different writing techniques used to give off different perspectives for
the reader to understand. The essay mainly intended the reader to understand the level of entitlement
that parents have with a team and the goals/process that must be met in order to win.
The various approaches to coaching and how much authority parents had depending on how involved
they were. Transitions, such as closers or openers most of the paragraphs cause readers to be lost in
the in the wrong areas and a quick switch of the setting hurt the initial and long term meaning of the
essay.
A firm belief Coach Fitz has throughout the essay is to win. You know what I think about second
place? he said. Here s what I think about second place. And he slammed the trophy against the floor
(Lewis). This ultimately shows that winning and getting in the first place is a big part

Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers
Literature Review:
The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the
concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts.
The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of
community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are undergoing
a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to two trends in
this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of community journalism
in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political transition on the
emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other words, while the
former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline, the latter shows an
adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition.
Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger
newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized
news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006).
During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by
focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche
product. So in addition to succeeding in gaining financial prosperity,

Jonah Quotes From 12 Unlikely Heroes
Lessons about God As A.B. Simpson once stated, All that God requires of [his children] is an
opportunity to show [them] what He can do. God is an omnipotent being, but some people doubt his
power; nevertheless, God will ensure that His plans are carried out despite the challenges placed
before Him. In the book Twelve Unlikely Heroes, John MacArthur retells the story of Jonah and
explains how God used him to deliver the Ninevites, regardless of his prejudices against them. Jonah s
story conveys three important lessons about God, but there are other remarkable biblical characters
which contribute to those lessons as well. The first lesson that the story of Jonah accentuates is that
God is the sovereign Creator, which is a lesson that can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jonah, for instance, is notorious for his rebellious thoughts and actions against the Ninevites for their
wickedness. Even though God punished Jonah by forcing him to undergo three days in the belly of a
fish, his myopic attitude toward the Ninevites remained unchanged. He despised them so much, that
he would have preferred death over [their] salvation (UH, Jonah 122). Jonah s exasperation with the
Ninevites was rooted in the fact that God would give them mercy as long as they repented; He knew
that God could rescue any sinner, but Jonah wanted nothing to do with divine pardon being extended
to Israel s hostile enemies (UH, Jonah 122). Although Jonah strongly opposed giving the Ninevites
salvation, God used the rebellious prophet to bring [the] rebellious people to faith in himself (UH,
Jonah 124). With the Lord s help, Jonah eventually approached the sinful people with diffidence and
helped hundreds of thousands of them gain salvation from God.
The book of Jonah communicates that God is an all powerful Creator, Judge, and Savior, which is also
conveyed in the books of some of His other children. Through their stories, it is evident that the Lord
overcomes all obstacles in order to offer mercy to those who deserve it and to carry out His plan. He
never fails those who trust in Him, because everything He does is for their own benefit, even though it

Alice And The Video Games
Alice and the Video Games Alice, an ignorant little girl from Alice and the Wonderland tumbled down
the rabbit hole into a world of meaninglessness (IMDb); today, proponents of banning violent video
games are following Alice, stumbling over themselves into a pitfall of a lack of substantial evidence
and reasoning. An exemplary example of such a proponent is Eric Roberts, the uncredentialed author
of the article Violent Video Games Produce Violent Behavior in Our Nation s Youth and Should Be
Banned . On top of making groundless claims against violent video games, Roberts lumps in unrelated
elements simply to appeal to pathos and vainly attempts to reel in his far fetched conclusions using a
plethora of fallacies to back up his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the latter half of his first argument, Roberts boldly claims Violent video games equate to violent
behavior, especially in children whose brains are not fully formed yet and a game rated MA (Mature)
doesn t stop a kid from playing it, yet there is utterly no evidence supporting these poor claims. In
reality, according to the Entertainment Software Rating Board s official website, a majority of parents
check the video game rating before purchasing it for their child (ESRB). Robert draws a hasty
generalization in hopes that readers will gloss over such details and ignorantly agree with Robert s
meaningless and false claims.
A vast majority of Robert s argument is based around women being portrayed as helpless victims or
sexual objects. Drawing on sympathetic feelings, Robert equates violent video games to sexual ones
and generalizes them as a whole. While attempting to indirectly attack violent video games, he utilizes
the straw man fallacy to prey on a vaguely associated, weaker target: sexual video games. He criticizes
these sexual games to coerce compassionate support, a mere gaudy bauble for naive readers to blindly
listen to Robert s argument. In fact, Roberts gives absolutely no evidence to state any link between
violent and sexual video games, much less a link between how sexual video games translate into sexist
or aggressive behavior in the modern world. Rather,

competitive advantage Essay examples
INTRODUCTION Competitive advantage(CA) is an advantage competitors gain by providing or
offering customers or consumers greater value for their money through product and service
differentiation or through lower prices. Maintaining competitive advantage is crucial to many
businesses or organizations success in order to survive in the market. Competitive advantage is
characterized by superior performance which could be an attribute to outperform the competitors
whether current or potential; or gaining a higher market share in a particular industry thereby ensuring
market leadership; or ultimately, maximization of profit.(JOBBER 2010) This essay will critically
analyze how competitive advantage is created i.e. Porter s 3 generic ... Show more content on

It is a no frill carrier. They were able to cut cost by operating a no frill carrier i.e. they don t use tickets
or travel agents. Focus Porter s focus strategy is a mix of both the differentiation and the cost
leadership strategies i.e. difference or cost leadership within a small target market segment. For
instance: a company should be able to differentiate its products based on a particular target market
segment because if the differences in products does not appeal to consumers in that target market as
opposed to consumers in broad market, there would be no basis for differentiation and competitive
advantage will not have been achieved. Selecting the Right Competitive Strategy There are two
schools of thought pertaining to how firms should choose the competitive strategy that best suits them.
One is of the opinion that firms should choose one of the generic strategies and commit all resources
to making it work. Porter belongs to this category. They believe that the value chain necessary for cost
leadership is quite different from that of differentiation strategy and that while differentiation deals
with better quality, cost leadership deals with lowering costs wherever possible.(DESS and DAVIES
1984) What porter articulated here is that there is need for strategic clarity. The 2nd school of thought
opines that the strategies may be combined together to achieve CA. They believe that superior quality

  • 2. France and Human Rights The French judicial system was established by Roman codified law and founded by Napoleon I in 1804 (Aguilera, p. 4). The French Constitution was formally declared on October 4, 1958, under the Fifth Republic. Similar to the United States Constitution, the French Constitution can be amended by the chambers of Parliament or a referendum. The last amendment to the French Constitution took place on July 18, 2008. The revision impacted judicial powers as well as civil rights; it provided the judicial branch a meaningful structure to examine past legislation to verify constitutionality. Within the judicial system there is a Constitutional Council, which operates in a different capacity than other democratic Supreme Courts. The Constitutional ... Abuse of Freedom of Expression, Advocacy of Racial Discrimination and Religious Intolerance . In September, the French magazine Charlie Hebdo issued publications with caricatures of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. After selling out of all the normal issues, the publisher decided to issue 70,000 additional copies to correspond with the mosque prayer held on Fridays. Additionally, a large number of raids were conducted resulting from concerns that protests would be held from the release of the film Innocence of Muslims. At the conclusion of the raids, some 50 people were detained, a large number of the detained included women wearing traditional Muslim veils (Makei, 2010). France has one of the largest Muslim populations in the world, consisting of approximately 10 percent of the country. With France being a secular nation since 1905, this became a large issue, for both the state and the Muslim population. Being a secular nation, France has a clear separation of church and state, with firmly held beliefs that religion is to be practiced in private. In 2004, France issued a law banning any religious symbols in public schools. This law was not created to single any one religion out, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Death And The King Horseman Analysis In an interview with The Guardian (2009) Wole Soyinka explained that the motivation behind writing Death and the King s Horseman was a bust of colonialist, Winston Churchill. To Soyinka, Churchill signified the breaking of the Yoruba culture and traditions. The idea for the play came from an instance during the colonial period in Nigeria, when the British intervened in the traditional suicide of a king s horseman. The title itself already makes reference to a Nigerian ritual in which the horseman of a king must kill himself after the death of the king (McNulty, 2011:2). The biggest event of cultural misunderstanding is evident in Act II when the British Officer, Pilkings, orders that Elesin Oba (the horseman) be arrested. Joseph (the stableboy) tells the Pilkingses how it is tradition for the king to be burried a month after his death but, before he can be burried, his dog, his steed and his horseman must die to be able to accompany him to heaven. For long this tradition is questioned and contested by the Pilkingses because how can something like that make sense to anybody? It is only once Olunde shows up in Act IV that the playwright changes the context. Olunde compares the suicide of the horseman to the mass killing of soldiers. He judges the Western customs of war in the same way the Westerners criticized his traditions and people. The Pros And Cons Of Planned Parenthood V) Planned Parenthood To reiterate how important symbol creation and media framing are to modern scandals, look no further than the allegations brought on family planning organization Planned Parenthood in 2015. In many ways, the scandals themselves were nearly identical in composition. David Daleiden, a journalist and founder of the pro life group the Center for Medical Progress, accumulated undercover footage at eleven Planned Parenthood offices claiming to be a representative for a fetal tissue procurement business. In the footage, abortion clinic doctors and executives [admit] that their fetal tissue procurement agreements are profitable for clinics and help keep their bottom line healthy. A report from the Center for Medical Progress goes into detail about Planned Parenthood works with StemExpress, LLC, and several other companies which supposedly profit off of fetal tissue. In fact, though the Center for Medical Progress does not seem to be affiliated with any larger organization like biggovernment.com was with Breitbart, there is a relatively noticeable attention to academic detail in his approach to investigative journalism. Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the future. • 12. Secret And Forbidden Love In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The... Jordan Hendrickson Mr. Foster AP English 11 2nd period December 15, 2017 Title Nathaniel Hawthorne s book The Scarlet Letter is a story of secret and forbidden love as well as the cause and effect of this forbidden love, the setting is a Puritan colony in Boston, Massachusetts around 1750. The main character Hester Prynne, a God fearing Puritan living within this community, gets caught in the act of adultery when she is discovered to be with child whilst having no husband. During this era, the punishment for adultery forced the adulteress or adulterer to wear a scarlet letter A upon their bosom. While staying in prison, following the discovery of her sin, Hester gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, which she named Pearl. Although some may choose to look upon pearl as a gift from the devil, or as a rotten curse, Pearl grows to become a reflection of both individual and collective human conscience, a personification of the scarlet letter, and a symbol of light. Pearl represents a physical form of many character s consciences throughout the novel. For instance, she is the voice of the collective conscience within her community when she points the crooked finger at Hester in the forest. Everywhere Hester goes, Pearl must follow and so she is a constant reminder to Hester that she must wear the scarlet letter at all times, while on their walk in Chapter 16, Pearl tells her mother that the sunshine does not (274) love her and it runs away and hides itself (274)because it is afraid of the letter. However, after Hester has cast off the letter A Pearl refuses to come to her. Pearl often highlights and brings attention to Hester s scarlet letter by inquiring about its purpose, this shows that while she may represent the conscience of those around her, she is still a little girl trying to understand the world around her. Pearl is not only of manifestation of a community conscience but she is most importantly a physical manifestation of Arthur Dimmesdale s conscience. She sees most clearly his inner desires and she is attracted to him from the beginning. Surprisingly a lot of the known knowledge about our planets comes from guessing. Well not just random guessing smart guessing. While the Jovian planets like Saturn and Jupiter have rocky cores. Scientists have multiple ways to probe the interiors of planets. The cores of each planet are a mixture of both solid and/or liquid. When you fly a spacecraft near a planet you can measure how it is affected by the gravity. When the spacecraft flies closer to a planet it becomes more affected by the inner layers of the planets interior. Chemical fractionation is the process early in the formation of a planet that influences its structure of its interior is gravity. Gravity causes heavier elements to sink to the core of a planet. The thickness of a planet s crust is directly proportional to the rate at which the planet cooled in the past. Smaller planets cool faster. The cooling rate is proportional to the total mass of the planet. Large planets cool slower and have thinner crusts. High cooling rates also determine the interior structure. Slower cooling rates implies that planets still have warm interiors now. Warmer interiors imply more a diversified structure. This is why mars is red, since it is smaller it cooled faster and elements like iron stayed on the surface before sinking toward the core, which is why it also doesn t have a strong magnetic field like Earth. It is also worth noting that a thicker crust means less tectonic activity. The best way to determine a terrestrial planets interior is by using seismology. • 22. The Magna Carta Charter na Carta Charter The Magna Carta charter has been credited as one of England s earliest attempts at a semi democratic community following the dissipation of the Athenian democracy and the Roman Republic, among others. The charter was drafted at Runnymede on 15 June 1215 in an attempt to address long overdue socio economic and political problems that had plagued the region over a 500 year period. Despite the long standing history associated with the charter s spirit, some of the key reasons for its drafting include King John s exploitation and destruction of the baron families through over taxation efforts or scutage that were designed to fund and refund military campaigns in both France and Normandy against King Philip II . His failures and eventual return to England in 1214 sparked a rebellion that would eventually facilitate the charter s ratification. There can be no doubt as to the wealth of this history and its association with a free, democratic society. This, however, does not legitimize the notion of England being the originator of modern democracy. In fact, the charter was more about the devolution of power within the nobility than the citizenship. In this regard, while it provided numerous provisions that would eventually protect the public, its main agenda was to limit the chances of absolutism and improve the autonomy, rights, powers, and freedoms of barons. Its longevity is another matter of concern as the charter would soon be revised in the course of King ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of this lab is to help us to have a closer look at an ecosystem and how things function in it. Besides, it provides us a chance to observe organisms and work with the microscope. Previously in class, we all read the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The sedimentary rock cliffs were rusty brown, but were covered with life. Red and black crabs rested on the surface, while blue footed boobies gracefully dived into the water to catch sardines. Baby nazca boobies peered out of their nests to see a small inflatable boat, known as a panga, bobbing in the water. Our guide, Christina, enthusiastically shared her knowledge of these animals to my family. This wildlife viewing boat ride was our plan for the afternoon. But things changed. As things always change. • 30. Examples Of Calvinism In The Devil And Tom Walker The Devil and Tom Walker (1824) by Washington Irving is a faustian tale about a man named Tom Walker who develops a relationship and strikes a life altering deal with the devil. The short story takes place in the time period of 1727 near Boston, Massachusetts when Puritans were very prevalent and the ideas of Calvinism were contemplated by many. A main aspect of Calvinism Washington Irving disagrees with is called predestination. This belief is when one does not have control of their afterlife because it is already chosen by God. I ll be exploring Calvinist and Puritan beliefs along with the concept of the faustian deal to show why Irving had Tom Walker agree to such a lopsided pact with the devil. To further understand Tom Walker s personality and how it contradicted Calvinism, I will also be exploring what was the perception of death for Bostonian Puritans around 1727? Understanding the Puritan perception of death is central to understanding why Tom easily sold his soul to the devil. Through the encounter with the devil at the Native American stronghold, Tom s wife dying and the faustian deal, Washington Irving shows he is against the Calvinist belief of predestination brought to the Massachusetts Bay colonies. The nature of the Native American stronghold and remarks said here by the devil are interesting examples of how Washington Irving shows he is against the concept of predestination. Health Of Achieving Health And Wellness Achieving health and wellness is a highly individualized, dynamic process that is characterized by six interrelated dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and environmental health. The focus of this paper is my physical health as it relates to wellness. Furthermore, the objective of focusing on my physical health is to identify current health behaviors and factors that may be impacting and prohibiting me from achieving optimal physical health. Using the Transtheoretical Model for Stages of Change1 as a guide, I will identify a specific health behavior I am seeking to improve, and outline an action plan to achieve and maintain good physical health. In assessing my health behaviors, I have identified three specific behaviors that have negatively impacted my physical health: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and inadequate sleep. The factors that I attribute to these current heath behaviors are: a lack of social support and guidance, the nutritional value of foods consumed (as related to the culture in which I was raised), and time management. I attribute my lack of physical activity to an absence of social support and guidance in my life. For example, my mother suffers with cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet rarely engages in physical activity. • 38. Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers Literature Review: The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts. The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are undergoing a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to two trends in this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of community journalism in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political transition on the emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other words, while the former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline, the latter shows an adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition. Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006). During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche product. Even though God punished Jonah by forcing him to undergo three days in the belly of a fish, his myopic attitude toward the Ninevites remained unchanged. He despised them so much, that he would have preferred death over [their] salvation (UH, Jonah 122). Jonah s exasperation with the Ninevites was rooted in the fact that God would give them mercy as long as they repented; He knew that God could rescue any sinner, but Jonah wanted nothing to do with divine pardon being extended to Israel s hostile enemies (UH, Jonah 122). Although Jonah strongly opposed giving the Ninevites salvation, God used the rebellious prophet to bring [the] rebellious people to faith in himself (UH, Jonah 124).
