To better understand this difference, a more in depth explanation of the art of tragedy is
necessary. Tragedy was unique of all the forms of Greek art; it was seen as the only combination
of the two classes of art. These two classes are named after Apollo and Dionysus, the two Greek art
deities (Nietzsche 1). The Apollonian influence was seen as the art of things of form and structure,
the molding or creation of something tangible. The Dionysian, on the other hand, was seen as the
more plastic arts, music in particular, where the art lies as much in the performance as the
conception. The Apollonian was seen as a creation brought on by a dream like state, perhaps
induced by a god or sleep, while the Dionysian is usually attributed to high spirits, such as
drunkenness (Nietzsche 1). As stated before, Tragedy was the unique combination of these two art
influences. The Apollonian influence is seen in the writing of the play, as well as in its tangible

Underaged drinking is becoming more of a problem every year. There are many negative
consequences that coincide with this risky activity; other than the obvious fact that it is illegal.
These consequences include: violent behavior, risky sexual activity, engaging in dangerous
activities putting oneself in harm s way, drunk driving, and long term effects such as brain damage
and depression. Whether the person engages in drinking regularly and simply believes nothing
bad will happen to them, or has been talked into drinking for the first time, both are put at equal
risk for any of these events to occur. Arguably some of the most devastating side effects of
drinking at a young age are changes in the way the brain develops. The human brain does not stop
developing until one is well into their twenties. Because of this, Young people that consume/abuse
alcohol, are put at a much higher risk of early onset depression and alcohol dependence into
adulthood. The more concerning aspect of this is teens that start having problems with depression,
due to drinking, often lie about their habits, thus not getting help until it is too late. More times
than not, young people do not confide in parents for fear of judgement and/or ridicule. Situations
like these often cause young adults to feel alone and isolate themselves from those who wish to

The account of the transfiguration as Matthew told it, states: After six days... (Matt. 17:1). When
Mark wrote about this same event he also said, After six days... (Mark 9:2). However, when Luke
told the story, he said, After about eight days... (Luke 9:28).
Seemingly, there are folks who read the Bible for no purpose other than to search for flaws. Of
course, there are no mistakes in God s Word; nonetheless, there are those who have tried to
discredit its message and they have used these verses, concerning the number of days, in support of
their claim of a discrepancy.
However, there is no contradiction here. Seldom does any event begin at exactly the same
moment a day begins. There is almost always a portion of a day preceding a certain number of
whole days and a portion of a day following the whole days.
Matthew and Mark counted only the whole days. Luke recognized a part of the day that proceeded
the six full days and a portion of the day, which followed them.
Was it six days or about eight days? Both are correct. It s simply a matter of observing the same
period of time from different viewpoints.
Anyway, Jesus took Peter, James and John upon a high mountain. Although, the Bible does not
name the mountain, logically there are only two possibilities; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon.
Peter called it The Holy Mountain (II Peter 1:18). Matthew and Mark both said they were up there
alone on a high mountain. (Matt. 17:1 Mark 9:2).
