The Acceptance Of The Green Girdle In Sir Gawain s
Sir Gawain s acceptance of the green girdle and refusal to hand it over to Bertilak is Sir Gawain
s first renege upon the rules of the game that he consented to, it again creates an awareness of the
weaknesses within the character of Sir Gawain. He was, up until the point where he accepted the
agreement with the lord s wife to leave Bertilak in the dark about the girdle, behaving as
chivalrous as would seem possible considering the curious circumstances of having to be courteous
to the lord s wife who is propositioning herself to him and also remain faithful to his host, coupled
with the rules of their game. It is Sir Gawains natural and human fear of death that causes him to
accept the invincibility rendering green girdle and agree to not tell the lord, it is his fear of death
that causes him to omit to surrender it to the lord, and it is his fear of death which causes him to...

This can be compared to the general desires of Sir Gawain and more particularly his flinch
during the beheading scene, Sir Gawain s fear of death is shown to be his primary weakness, he
is compared to that of an animal, again displaying the imperfections of Sir Gawain. The death
that the fox endures is contrasted with that of the boar, the fox is later regarded as ignoble, the
theefe dies panic stricken in the jaws of the pursuers (Burnley 1973: 3) Burnley draws parallels
between the sense of disappointment that is felt by the capturing of a mere fox when hunting with
the disappointment of Sir Gawain accepting the girdle as a gift, which we already see is supposed
to be compared with the disappointment in the beheading test where Sir Gawain

Essay On Clarissa And Septimus
Although both Clarissa and Septimus are treated for different medical reasons, their society shows
how people are treated and how the medical industry and the government do not care fully enough
on these issues. Both characters put the thought of death into their stream of conscious.
Unfortunately, Septimus choose the suicidal route. So, what s the difference then? Society played a
huge role on both Septimus and Clarissa s decision in their life. The government and their society
put little to no importance on Septimus and his issues which led to his death. In Virginia Woolf s,
Mrs. Dalloway, she portrays the outlook on shell shocked veterans in the twentieth century. As for
Clarissa, in the twentieth century, she was living the lavish... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Septimus s is viewed in society as a man who suffers from trauma from the war versus Clarissa,
who is described and an elegant woman that loves lavish parties and hanging around her friends.
Having both of the characters, Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, Virginia Wolfe presents
how two different sides of society, the upper class and the middle class, can have and face very
similar pressures. Each scene describing their outlooks from within Virginia s eyes show a very
similar effect on the people who dwell within themselves.
Woolf says that Septimus is a spitting image of Clarissa as both share the same feelings about
their history with the medical industry. The both share a dark side that cast out to the reader their
personality from within. Even though Clarissa showed many similar qualities in regards to
Septimus, she decided upon herself to live as she has things to take care of in her life. Like
Septimus, Clarissa too suffers from the war. Even though they were both emotionally beaten to the
bone, Clarissa decided to stay where she s at while Septimus chose another route.
In the book Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf wanted to cast the social system and bash it for how it
worked. Her intricate focus is focusing not on the people, but on the morals of a certain class at a
certain historical moment.

Techniques of Coding Theory
Bit strings composed of zeros and ones are the most usual way to represent, change and
communicate information. This data however s subject to errors due to a variety of factors,
such as deterioration of magnetic tape over time, or a scratch on a CD or DVD. Coding theory
uses techniques that can help find the errors. However if there are too many errors, the
techniques may not always work. One of the first techniques is the error detecting codes, which
adds a parity check bit to the end of the bit string. The idea is to add an extra bit to the end of the
code to make it either even or odd. For example, if there are an even numbers of 1 s, a 0 is added
to the end of the string, and if there are an odd number of 1 s then a 1 is added to the end of the
string. When reading the code, if the will use the parity bit to determine if the correct numbers
of 1 s are in the string. If an error is made, the number of 1 s will be odd. A downfall of this
technique is that only an odd number of errors will be detected by the technique because if an
even number of errors are made, the number of 1 s read will still be even and an error will not be
found. The next technique is the error correcting code, which take redundancy into account. It can
detect errors and then correct them. By using the triple repetition code, which repeats a message
three times, we can decipher a string using the simple majority rule which will compare the bits in
the original bit strings and use it to decide if an

Portrayal Of Women In Miss Representation
Miss Representation (2011) criticizes the media conglomerate s portrayal of women in film and the
disproportionate amount of women involved in the industry. Whether we accept it or not, media
consumption heavily influences our daily behavior and societal norms. When Hollywood casts
women in a monochromatic light, often sexualizing them for sensationalism, it is hard for women
to envision themselves in roles other than those portrayed and even harder for men to acknowledge
women as complex individuals greater than their film presence. By grouping common media
portrayals of women, Miss Representation emphasizes the lack of versatile of roles for women.
Although 50.8% of the population is comprised of women, the documentary cites only 16% female
protagonists in film that depict one of three generic, superficial, and stereotypical roles: the
career driven boss, the sex object, and the hopeless romantic. The career driven boss is typified
as solely career oriented. She sacrifices her family, friends, and even sometimes her own
happiness for the sake of her job. The entire plot revolves around diminishing her accomplishments
in a patriarchal world that only perceives her as bitchy. A prime example of this role would be
Meryl Streepas Miranda Priestlyin the Devil Wears Prada. The next role, more dehumanizing than
the last, is the sex object characterization that seeks only to use women as body props or eye
candy. While these women may appear to be empowered in the beginning

It is the minimum return a company needs to earn in order to satisfy its investor base (as weighted
for the amount of debt vs. equity in the target/capital structure), which is what the company must
pay investors to raise new financing to support new projects or ventures. WACC is particularly
useful here because Yeats has no debt, thus, it is an equity financed company. In the case of Yeats,
the company must have capital to continue to develop and market its new Widening Gyre Program.
The formula for WACC = Re (E/V) + Rd (D/V)(1 t)
However, because Yeats does not have debt, the second half of this formula, Rd(D/V)(1 t) is not
necessary. Being that Yeats has zero debt, the value of its equity is in full, which represents its
Enterprise Value. Tax (t) is determined in the case as 40% or .40 (p. 5).
We must then calculate the CAPM for the cost of equity (see Excel sheet for details):
Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf)
Re = Required Return on Equity
Rf = Risk Free Rate = 5.98 (p. 16)
Beta = Measure of Risk relative to the general market (volatility) = 1.5 (p. 5)
Rm Rf = Equity Market Risk Premium (EMRP) = 5.5 (p. 16)
Rm = Market Risk
Rf = Risk Free Assets (U.S. treasury security)
With Beta at 1, the stock price changes in precise tandem with the market, but with Yeat s beta at
1.5, it is more risky than a group of peer stocks.
Thus,
Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf)
Re = 5.98 + 1.5 x 5.5
Re = 14.23%, the cost of equity at for Yeats
Then calculate
WACC = Re

Exclusionary Rule And The Rule Of Law
Exclusionary Rule
Many constitutions all over the world provide basis for innocence until proven guilty. As such, the
courts of law must always factor in the provisions of criminal procedure and natural justice when
cross examining offenders. In light of this, the exclusionary rule allows a defendant to argue his
case if his privacy rights were violated before arraigned in court. In essence, the provisions of the
exclusionary rule prevent the government authorities and machinery such as FBI and CIA from
gathering evidence from an individual in a manner that disrespects the United States constitution.
Therefore, the exclusionary law protects an individual against unreasonable search or seizure in line
with the provisions of the Fourth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the freedom to information by government authorities must not exceedingly surpass the
rights and privileges that citizens enjoy (Re and Richard, pg. 1887).
What is more, the exclusionary rule provides that the extra evidence obtained because of
unreasonable search or seizure will not be used in a court of law, as it will be considered fruit of
the poisonous tree. In essence, the exclusionary rule excludes any evidence collected out of
unlawful searches. For instance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may infringe on one his
right to privacy by obtaining information from the individual his computer, as this will amount to
unreasonable search and disrespect to the individual his privacy rights. As such, it is unreasonable
for the government agencies such as the Department of Justice to obtain information from Google,
Yahoo, Facebook, or any other online service provide, as this may be presumed by a court of law
as unlawful and unreasonable search that amounts to infringement on one s privacy rights (O Brien
and Michael, pg. 1889).
There has been an argument among legal experts that the provisions of the exclusionary rule are
merely to deter the misconduct of the law enforcement personnel. In light of this, most courts do
not adhere to the provisions of the exclusionary rule as it is viewed as an extension of the Fourth
Amendment. Ideally, Police officers deem the law as an obstacle on their endeavors to

Gas Utilization Of Oil And Gas Technologies
Although the difficulty in storing processing, transporting and distributing gas makes it difficult to
utilise (Cost of transporting per unit energy is about 10 times higher than that of oil) (Thomas et al,
2000), the evolution in oil and gas technologies has presented many new ways for the
commercialisation of APG, Technological options for the monetisation of APG categorised into the
methods available for getting gas from production sites to consumers where it can consumed. In this
chapter the various methods would be briefly described, highlighting obtainable products and
benefits, challenges and limitations and viability conditions. These methods are summarised as
shown in figure 10. Figure 10: Paths to gas monetisation 4.1.1 Pipelines This is the oldest and
simplest form of gas utilization. It involves transporting treated gas from producers directly to its
consumers (Speight, 2007; Kidnay et al., 2006) 4.1.1.1 Products and Benefits The product is
pipeline quality gas for domestic, commercial and industrial use or for further processing. Utilized
mainly for power and heat generation. Once in place, this system aids the utilization of massive
amounts of APG a well planned out pipeline network could supply numerous consumers from
numerous producers 4.1.1.2 Challenges and Limitations The Pipeline system is inflexible. Once

piping diameters are decided, quantities that can be

Jay-Z s From The Frying Pan Into The Fire
Hip hop is a culture created by people who felt that some aspects of the culture of capitalism did
not fit them. Hip hop was able to give them a form of expression, a means of earning and a better
representation for themselves. In Jay Z s essay One Eye Open , Jay Z shares his account, as a
pioneer of the genre itself, of how hip hop started to gain its popularity and standing back when
he was a young child and how it provides the people means to support their needs. In her essay
From the Frying Pan into the Fire , Arlie Russell Hochschild shares what does it take to create a
culture, she focused on how the capitalist economic systembecame a culture itself instead of
supporting one. Although hip hop may have started out as an opposition to some of the values of
capitalism, a lot of aspects of the hip hop culture thrive from the capitalist economy, it just follows a
different set of rules.
Even though many might think that hip hop is a form of art and that capitalism is an economic
system, that is not all that they are, they can also be identified as cultural systems. A culture is
created when groups of people start to have unique social patterns, like their own food, cloth,
language and what not. Another way a culture is created is through rituals and an ideology that a
group of people start following. The culture of capitalism was created through the anxieties to
which it poses itself as a necessary answer (Hochschild 145). For this reason, what used to be just an

Analysis Of The Piano Lesson By August Wilson
Hans Christian Anderson one said that where words fail, music speaks. Nowhere is this truer than
in The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. The Piano Lesson tells the story of family that struggles in
the side and what do with a family heirloom that takes the form of an ornately carved upright piano.
Bernice wishes to keep the pianobut her brother, Boy Willie, wishes to sell the piano for land
because according to him Bernice is not doing anything but letting it sit there and rot because no
one is playing it. Yet despite what Boy Willie says the piano actually gets quite a bit of use in the
play. Along with playing the piano the characters can also be seen singing in the play. The songs
the characters sing and perform does a good job of relating the characters thoughts and actions to a
more musical medium. From songs such as Maretha s beginners piece on the piano to Wining Boy
s more experienced yet melancholic tune the music of The Piano Lesson tells us about the character
s pasts and presents.
Starting with the song Berta, Berta (which is initially sung by Boy Willie but soon joined in by
Lymon, Wining Boy, and lastly Doaker), the song tells the story of a man working on Parchman
Farm, known formally as the Mississippi State Penitentiary, who tells his sweetheart, Alberta, to
not wait for him and to go ahead and marry. The song itself is a prison work song typically sung
by those imprisoned who worked on Parchman. What this lets us know is a multitude of facts
about the people singing this song. For example the most glaring fact is that they have spent time
or know someone who spent time at Parchman Farm this show the racism faced by the Charles
family and countless other families in early 20th century America. With Boy Willie being the one
to initiate the singing of a song with such a history combined with his desire to purchase Sutter s
land, as seen in various pages, one can infer that he is an ambitious albeit brash man who choses to
take control of the situation the family has found itself in and honor the wishes of his father and
grandfather, Boy Charles and Willie Boy respectively.
Now focusing on two smaller songs you can still get a general grasp on the background of those
associated with them. The

Portrayal Of Gender In Media
Media today portrays gender in many different ways. Whether it s a women doing a man s job or
vice versa. Overall magazines, tv commercials or any type of advertisement for the most part
women are seen as a sex symbol while guys are the hard workers. I did a random you tube search
for Tv commercials. Many commercials I found were banned from tv for being too sexy for Tv .
A Carl s Jr. commercial shows a women walking through an outdoor garden shop and all the men

The commercial is between a couple. The husband is sleeping and she getting ready to go for a
run. She walks over to the laptop and sees that men have ran 3106 km and women have ran

between two other men that are running and ends up catching up to a few other women who are
also part of the challenge. Everything is becoming a race between the women and men even
though the men are outnumbered. Two women run pass a guy and pull out his headphones to
slow down his pace. Now the men are all checking online and see that the women are catching up
with their distant ran, so they all start to run including her husband that was sleeping. This
proves that women can do the same as men or even more. On Dorito commercial called If
Women s Roles In Ads Were Played By Men shows the roles reversed. Honestly to me it seems
kind of strange seeing men playing the sexy hot role, definably did not catch my attention.
Overall any time of advertisement will always have women as a sex symbol and men being
superb to women similar to the Nike commercial. I believe this is not an accurate portrayal
because women can do everything men do and vice versa. It is very uncommon to see men and
women switch roles in any type of

How Multiprocessing Is The Fastest And Most Reliable Way...
In the computer world, multiprocessing is currently the fastest and most reliable way to create
faster computing computers. This will remain so in the future and will only allow computers to
become faster and more reliable.
In order to understand the impact of multiprocessors, it is important to understand what they are
and what multiprocessing is. According to _________ Critcklow, author of _______________, the
definition of multiprocessing is independent and simultaneous processing accomplished by the use
of several duplicate hardware units. This definition is one way to look at what multiprocessing is;
however, __________ Baer, author of ___________, gives another definition of multiprocessing.
According to Baer, The ANSI Vocabulary of Information Processing defines multiprocessing as a
system, broadly, as a system composed of two (or more) processing units under integrated control.
Both definitions though slightly different align showing what multiprocessing truly is; the only
difference is the complexity of their explanations. The computer industry has been using
multiprocessors since computers were first introduced to the public. These were implemented so
early in computers because there are so many advantages using them. Even in the early stages of
multiprocessors, they were still faster than uniprocessors. According to _________ Barney, author
of _________, an advantage of using multiprocessors is that in theory, throwing more resources at a

The Threat Of The Terrorist Threat Essay
The terrorist threat is one threat that can not be taken likely and requires effort from all homeland
security stakeholders to prevent the consequence of such a threat. This threat can come in so many
different fashions that it requires a collaborative effort to prevent its effects. If a terrorist has access
to an item that can cause harm then it can be added to the vast list of threats. There have been
terrorist attacks that have occurred utilizing explosives, chemical weapons, small arms attacks,
toxic industrial chemical and if other threats are available then these threats would be used to cause
mass causalities. The terrorist threat may have a strong hold in certain parts of the Middle East but
the threat has traveled globally. Through the use of the internet, the terrorist organizations are able
to expand their propaganda and therefore spread their influence globally. The internet has caused a
change in the nature of the terrorist threat by not just associated this threat as foreign but one that
can inspire homegrown terrorism. In this paper, it will discuss how terrorists are able to spread
their influence globally and inspire followers to become homegrown terrorists. This paper will also
discuss how the internet is utilized as a means to get information to home grown terrorists that can

The Tension Of Racial Separation
The tension of racial separation is a driving factor in Ralph Ellison s Battle Royal . In the early
1940 s the Deep South decided to create Jim Crow laws in which were intended to prevent
blacks from voting. For the entirety of the narrators life he has being living acceptingly and
conforming to these laws. The narrator states On my graduation day I delivered an oration in
which I showed that humility was the secret, indeed, the very essence of progress. (Not that I

He believed that by beating the narrator he would relieve himself of the pain the white have
pushed upon him. We can see this when the narrator asked why are you fighting me and he
responds, For me, sonofabitch (231). Rather than dispensing his anger upon his oppressor the
brute of his attack was at his own community. This is exactly what the white men wanted. After
the fight was over and Tatlock won the boys were thrown into a group and called over to collect
their earnings for the night. To deepen the wedge separating them they throw the money on a
rug. Unknowingly the boys scram in a frenzy to collect all the pay they can obtain, only to learn
that they rug is electrocuted. Once again they were put at war with each other and struggled to
obtain what they all truly wanted. The naked woman is heavily symbolic of the lack of worth
the black community holds during this time period. She is the apple in the Garden of Eden, the
forbidden fruit of America, the item blacks see every day but will never be allowed to obtain.
She is a dream, an everlasting but never obtainable goal. Just the sight of this never obtainable
goal frightens the strongest and bravest of the boys in the room, many want to run away. All are
horrified of what the whites will do if they see them staring at the woman. I believe that this

Compare And Contrast Qin And Han Dynasty
After the Warring States Period, there were two major dynasties; the Qin and the Han. The Qin
dynasty ruled first and created many policies that were adopted and abandoned by the second
rulers, the Han dynasty.
One policy that was implemented from the Qin, by the Han was standardization. Shi Huangdi, the
ruler during the Qin dynasty, implemented the idea of standardization and executed his plans for
standardization in an orderly fashion. Huangdi standardized the following throughout China; the
Chinese language, the weights and measurements used, the currency of China, and the axes on

government leaders did not know what was going on in their society. Shi Huangdi created
provinces, which was divided into counties, and there were heads of the provinces who reported
to the emperor about what was going on within their province. In the counties there was a head

play Both Antigoneand Creon go at it expressing each others beliefs and whether one is right or
wrong.Throughout the play civil law is more significant and powerful. In Antigone the author
Sophoclesdemonstrates the how important one s moral beliefs is, through the actions of the
characters and how the beliefs impact the outcome of the play.

dislikes Divine law because he has no control(authority) over it. Creon believes that the state and

The Extraction Of Factors And Factors
The extraction of factors helps to determine the loading of factors. The factor loading matrix is
shown below and is estimated with two common factors. The first column of the matrix depicts the
first unrotated factor and it can be analysed that the first factor puts maximum and approximately
equal weights to the first, second and fifth variable. And, it puts the minimum weight to the third
variable, electricity. On the other hand, the second unrotated factor places the least weights to the
first and second variable, while putting the highest weight to the third variable.

Selecting an appropriate rotation is difficult task. Hence, it is preferable to perform both rotations
on the factors.
Varimax rotation technique results in high loading of each variable on a few number of factors,
ideally on one factor and hence resulting in better factor analysis. The Figure. 18 shows the biplot
of loadings of varimax rotated factors. It can be seen that in order to bring the loadings close to
zero or one, varimax has rotated the axes. The four variables are close to first factor axis. While,
the third variable lies approximately on second factor axis. Hence, the results of varimax rotation
are satisfactory because most of the variables are near to the factor axis. Figure. 17
Promax rotation can be used incase we are not able to obtain the satisfactory and simple set of
factors with an orthogonal rotation. The promax rotation allows the factor axes to have an
oblique angle between them. The Figure. 19 shown belows depicts the promax rotation. It can be
seen that the variables 1, 2 and 5 are close to the first factor axes and third variable is close to the
second factor axis. The data is better accomodated in an oblique rotation. The two latent factors can
describe variability of buildings and agriculture, which are having high impact on greenhouse gas
emissions.

Sanlu Milk Crisis Essay
Synopsis
There were many reasons why the Sanlu milk crisis occurred. Between 2000 and 2007, China s
dairy consumption increased an average of 23% per year. This large increase put pressure on the
dairy industry, which was having difficult time meeting consumer demand. The shortage of raw
dairy product prompted many companies to source from dairy farmers without properly conducting
due diligence and fully vetting their operations. Also, the cost structure of the dairy industry and
lack of government regulations incentivized dairy farmers to dilute their milk so they could sell
more of their product. The dairy industry adopted a crude protein test as a quality control measure;
however, many dairy farmers were able to cheat this test by ... Show more content on

This incentivized the dairy farmers to find ways to stretch their product further and increase
margins. Dairy farmers must be properly compensated for their product if the quality of the milk is
to be maintained.
The dairy industry must also do a better job at ensuring the quality of the product it receives from
its milk providers. Obviously the dairy farmers found a way to get around the protein test. The dairy
companies should instead follow the lead of their French and Australian counterparts and conduct a
true protein test prior to payment. This would eliminate the ability of the dairy farmers to cheat the
test as they had in the past.
The government also has a responsibility to fix this issue the dairy industry is facing. The
government failed to adequately monitor the quality of the milk being sold by dairy companies.
The Chinese government knew as early as 2004 that there was an issue with the milk supply when
the big head disease occurred yet there was little government action to determine the scope of this
problem. The government should have regulations the dairy industry must meet to protect its
citizens, similar to what is prevalent in developed countries today.
Conclusion
In order to regain consumer confidence and prevent another dairy crisis from occurring, there are
many issues the dairy industry along with the Chinese government need to resolve. Key to ensuring
this crisis does not occur in the future is

Influencing The Lives Of Non Human Animals
Influencing the lives of non human animals for centuries, animals have led to appreciable
advancement in society. The interactions that occur between people and non human animals,
particularly in the Appalachian region, has led to profound changes both on the local community
and the nation. The most significant interaction to take place and has influenced the area drastically
is domestication. Four types of domestication at the forefront of Appalachian cultureare livestock,
blood sports, pet keeping, and animal s prevalence in oral folklore. The introduction of
domestication previous to and after the Neolithic Revolution has harbored new relationships
between humans and animals that have altered the mountain face, culture, and economy of the
Appalachian region.
The most prevalent human animal interaction to be observed and widely practiced in the
Appalachian Mountains is the keeping of domesticated animals. The region was widely used as
hunting and gathering land previous to colonial expansion. Native Americans did not keep or
domesticate animals because of their animism beliefs, or the belief that all organisms and inanimate
objects possess a soul ( Constructing Animals ). However, it was not until the Neolithic Revolution
reached the Appalachians that sustainable agriculture became a standard way to obtain food. In
doing so domesticated animals, particularly livestock, became common in the mountains. Hogs
cattle, and chickens were kept on farms to allow for easier access

1. Why is risk mitigation and filling in critical security gaps an important next step after the security
assessment is performed?
During your security assessment you probably found some gaps, some of them may be critical
gaps, so naturally the next step should be to fix those gaps. Once you know you are exposed you
want to fix those gaps ASAP before they get exploited.
2. How do you align the results of the qualitative risk assessment to risk mitigation?
You align the results by how likely each risk is to be exploited. The critical security gaps should be
taken care of before the low level risks.

A Perfect Year in School
I will always will remember when I was 14 years old and I was in High School, freshman year,
we often got off earlier than what hour schedule show. What we usually did when that happened
was going to the houses of the school mates, go and play soccer in the courts, go to the movies
without the permission of our parents.
When we went to a house of a school mate we usually buy a lot of food, like fry food, play music,
video games, our favorite video game was soccer, if we didn t have electricity we used to play
dominoes like the old times. We hate when we didn t have electricity it was one day with
electricity and one day without electricity typically from my country. I think that we were already
accustomed to the day to day of our country, something crazy.
When we could spend some money we used to go to the movies, we always watch horror movies
to make fun of our faces. The movie theater was one hour from our school. We usually take taxis,
usually four taxis. When we arrived to the movie theater everybody will start yelling each other
and everybody was looking at us. Sometimes when people look at our group like What is wrong

The Impacts Of Premarital Sex And Cohabitation On Marriage

The Impacts of Premarital Sex and Cohabitation on Marriage
Becoming popular from the 1950s until now, premarital sex and premarital cohabitation have been
considered as the norms in the United States. While most people agree that premarital sex is one of
the ways to find out whether the couple is perfect for each other, others incline its consequences.
Because the United States is described as the Salad Bowl, in which numerous ethnicities, religions,
and cultures are not assimilable, it exists some different perceptions about sex out of marriage. By
reviewing the reasons and pointing the consequences of having sex and living together before
marriage, it is obvious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Defending the judgment that premarital sex and cohabitation is acceptable and permissible,
people who had sex before their marriage or just agree with it expound some reasons. First of all,
living together and sex outside marriage have been increasing because of social pressure. In a
community, a person who does not follow common norms is abnormal. According to the
research in 2011, Mashau learned that a person would be seen as stupid, rural, and sophisticated
without participating in premarital sex as his/her peers. It means that some people might
neither agree nor disagree with premarital sex, yet they try to simulate what most people do in
order to be normal . Giving another reason to protect their opinion, people believe having sex
and living together before marriage help them be ready for marriage. Marriage is the most
important event in a person s life; thus, everyone wants to find a fitting spouse with whom they
are going to live in the rest of the life. They worried a wrong decision will destroy their marriage,
even their life. The contribution of premarital sex and cohabitation is a suitable choice which not
only helps the couples understand each other but also gets their relationship closer. The couples
believe engaging in sex and living together before marriage are the processes which they are more
likely experience the needs of marriage than the couples did not. As a result, the couples that think

When my engineering teacher told my class we d be making prosthetic hands, many emotions ran

front of me and my group everything we needed was in this LEGO Mindstorms NXT kit. We
opened it, studying the motors, sensors, and seven hundred LEGO pieces neatly organized inside.
These materials were paired with simple instructions: create a prosthesisthat could replace a human
hand. Our grade depended on it s ability to pick up objects: it had to be strong enough to grab full
water bottles, but sensitive enough to pick up a potato chip without damaging it. Faced with this

Hack An Iphone Analysis
The articles of the constitution have withstood the change of time because our country founders
worded them in such a way so that principle ideas will never be questioned. The FBI in the case of
one of the California shooters, Syed Farook, pressured Apple to hack the phone without the search
warrant. The FBI shouldn t have pressured Apple to hack an iPhonebecause it breaches privacy, it
violates free speech, and it hurts apple s business.
From the business point of view of Apple, I have seen Arguments that Apple refused to unlock the

did force companies to provide services to violate personal privacy, freedom or speech, or

China. Unlike the U.S., these governments have no respect for individual rights or free speech.
On the other hand, many people may argue that by hacking into the shooter s iPhone it would
increase national security. But, The Fourth Amendment was meant to protect Americans from
illegal searches. This means that police or other law enforcement can t search your home, car, or
clothing without permission from a court. It also guarantees Americans right to privacy... It doesn
t say that a person s home or belongings can t be searched at all. It does say that the government
must have a good reason for the search, or probable cause. And the government must get
permission, in the form of a warrant from a judge by showing probable cause. (1) That is because
the fourth amendment gives us the right to privacy.
All in all, Apple did choose the right thing of refusing to hack into the iPhone. If Apple would
breach the Phone, then they would break the constitution by going against the first and fourth
amendment. Also, if Apple did violate the device, then it would have hurt the brand name. To avoid

Lies are one of the major things in which affects this world of wonders, the young and old do it

The Impact of Coaching on Adults with Obesity

Abstract
Obesity is a major issue in the United States. Not only is it a risk factor for other chronic diseases
such as hypertension and diabetes, but it also has a significant impact on a person s long term
health and wellness. Research has identified health coaching as an effective intervention for
decreasing obesity in adults. This paper described the purpose/need of health coaching, effective

Health coaching is client oriented and works to establish behavior changes in order to improve the
quality of a person s life (Kivela et al., 2014). This paper will describe the purpose/need of health
coaching, effective techniques involved in the coaching process, and its impact on adults with
obesity. It will also identify how the effectiveness of health coaching on obesity will impact the
author s coaching business, methods of practice, and the author personally.
According to Wong Rieger Rieger (2013), the addition of health coaching is significantly more
effective than health education alone. Health coaching involves motivating clients to identify and
achieve goals that can help them to improve their health and quality of life (Kivela et al., 2014).
Health coaches help clients to identify and overcome obstacles that affect their ability to make
positive health choices (Kivela et al., 2014). Health coaches are not experts, but rather they work
together with their clients to set goals, problem solve and hold the client accountable for their
actions (Wong Rieger Rieger, 2013).
Because of the significant increase of obesity in the United States, researchers believe that
behavioral factors play more of a vital role than biological factors in the development of obesity
(Newnham Kanas, Irwin, Morrow Battram, 2011). This is why an effective health coaching
approach combines several

group were ambiguous. The financial plans for the first year of operation projected total revenues
of FF 5,482 million and a net profit after taxation of FF 204 million. For the following years the
development should be even more impressive. At that time the plans were seen as a consequent
application of the concepts of the existing Disney designed theme parks.[1]
Just a short time after Euro Disney was opened in time on April 1992 it was obvious that reality
would not meet the plans. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reasons all conclusions given below should be evaluated carefully. For a more detailed
analysis additional information would be necessary[4].
To be able to make a general statement this report will compare the plans for the first and second
year of operation with the financial years ending September 30th 1992 and 1993. At least the last
one will provide the opportunity to compare two periods of twelve months of operation. This
comparison is provided in appendices 1 to 3. With a stress on the second year В– as explained
above В– the following conclusions can be drawn:
В· In the first year Euro Disney nearly met expectations for revenues and operating expenses of the
Magic Kingdom. With no operating profit from the resort and property development sector and
higher than planned general and administrative costs it failed to meet the profit projection by FF
392 Mio.
В· In the second year again revenues from the Magic Kingdom reached the planned level but
operating expenses for this exceeded plans so that the operating profit was below expectations.
В· Again there was no significant operating profit from the resort and property development
operations.
В· Lease, general and administrative expenses far exceeded plans.
В· As a result the profit before exceptional profit and taxation missed plans by FF 2,332 Mio.
A more detailed analysis is given in appendix 4.

Bottled Water Bottles In The United States
In the United States, it is estimated that humans consumed an average of 400 billion gallons of
water every day, while some countries can barely survive with the water they currently have. It is
also estimated that over 780 million people don t have access to clean safe water and have to rely
on other sources to survive. The main source for clean water is consuming plastic water bottles.
While there are many pros to purchasing and consuming bottled waterthere many cons and
possible risks. While over 50 billion plastic water bottles are produced each year, but only about
23 percent in the United States is recycled. That is roughly about 38 billion water bottles; more
than $1 billion worth of plastic are wasted each year. The majority of plastic bottles are made from
polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, which is produced from crude oil. The oil is then
extracted which releases greenhouse gases and harm... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can be safe to drink; it is available to any vendor that sells it and to some consumers bottled
water taste better. While advantages seem great there are some disadvantages to consuming
bottled water. Some companies will claimed that their water sources may come from natural
springs but in reality, its purified tap water or adding some chemicals claiming it s mineral
water. As mention before, only about 23% of the plastic water bottles are only recycled, the rest
end in landfills or water sources leading to being harmful to the environment. The last
disadvantage is the cost. A 12oz. bottled of water is estimated to cost between $1.30 to $2.30
(depending on the brand and location of sale) and in Campbell County in Kentucky it cost $4.25
for 7.5 gallons of tap water. You would have to purchase just over 10 bottles to equal 1 gallon,
costing an estimated $13.78 for 10 bottles of water for 1 gallon of tap

Social Dominance Theory
A major point of social dominance theory is that all humans belong to various groups. There are
powerful groups that provide status and authority and there are powerless groups as children that
are easy targets of violence. Some adults sexually abuse a child to feel the power and control they
don t feel in their relationships with other adults. Sometimes, adults who have intimate sexual
relationships with other adults may sexually abuse children in moments of unusual stress. Other
adults are primarily sexually attracted to children and act impulsively when presented with an
unexpected opportunity to sexually abuse a child. Each person who sexually abuses a child is
motivated by issues unique to that individual. Some adults who sexually abuse children recognize
that it is wrong and are deeply repentant. Other adults believe their behavior is okay and that what
they do shows their love for children. b.Psychological Explanation:... Show more content on

There is no single profile that accurately describes or accounts for all child molesters. There are
many variables among individuals in terms of their personal characteristics, life experiences,
criminal histories, and reasons for committing such offenses. One common misconception is that
molested children grow up to become child molesters themselves. Most adults who sexually use
or abuse children were, during their own childhoods, abandoned, abused sexually, physically, and
/or emotionally. In reaction to those experiences of abuse, neglect, betrayal and powerlessness,
they may have attempted to find feelings of power and control over others including sexual power
over children. Some people who sexually use or abuse children have high social status in a group
and become so confused by constant admiration or praise that they begin to think the rules are

Analysis Of Robert Frost s White
In 1922, Robert Frost wrote the poem In White. Frost then revised this poem fourteen years later
and published it under the title Design. On the surface, the speaker in the poem describes a
situation in which a spider has killed a moth on a heal all flower. But, as the layers are peeled
back, there arises a conflict between the speaker and him/herself. The internal conflict stems
from the world s design or lack thereof. Frost takes a simple thought on design and makes the
reader question life and the nature of creation through a random, haphazard occurrence of a
spider, a moth, and a flower. To start the poem, the speaker stumbles upon a fat and white spider
on a white heal all, holding up a moth (1 2). This doesn t tell the full story, but it does show the
reader that there is a random occurrence between a spider, a moth, and a flower. As shown in
the legend, a heal all flower is usually blue but in this case it is white. The spider, which is
generally dark colored, is white as well. And the moth that is in the spider s hands is like a white
piece of rigid satin cloth . (3) A rigid, satin cloth symbolizes a coffin which shows that the moth
in the spider s arms is dead. After the first three lines there are two conclusions to be made: (1)
There is a random occurrence of a rare, white spider climbing on a rare, white heal all flower; (2)
The spider represents darkness and evil. It is using the flower as camouflage to kill the moth.
Finally, showing the characters

Argumentative Essay On Medea
Commonly considered one of Euripides greatest pieces, Medea is an insightful depiction of how a
woman s love for her husband, churns into a gruesome revenge scheme against him. This tragedy
illustrates a tale of a woman who challenges Greek societal norms. In the era that the story takes
place; women are often seen in submissive roles. However, the play s main character, Medea,
challenges their customs through her actions against the Kingdom of Corinth and Jason.
When Medea s husband, Jason, plans to marry Glauce, a daughter of King Creon, for wealth and
power over the kingdom, Medea becomes angry with Jason for breaking their vows of eternal
love. She decides the best way to hurt Jason was by murdering his bride to be and their own two
children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several points in the play where Medea could have been stopped. For instance, in the
opening scene when the Nurse lectures Medea, she should have suggested for Medea to murder
her husband and immediately flee the land. At that point, the Nurse see s Medea s children s
lives at risk and has the opportunity to save them by reverting the vengeful act onto the
perpetrator and not innocent children. However, the Nurse was unable to stop her at that time
since she only had a feeling and no confirmation on Medea s exact scheme. Another time Medea
could have been stopped is when she was making a speech to the Chorus on her revenge against
Jason and the Kingdom of Corinth. If they organized as a group, they could have turned Medea
into the Kingdom s military authority s before she acted, thus, saving everyone in the play s life.
Unfortunately, this was not accomplished because Medea persuaded the Chorus to swear not to
speak on or act against her plan. Lastly, when Aegeus, the King of Athens, finds Medea on his
return to Athens, after hearing how Jason has wronged her, he could have persuaded her not to
commit murder and to flee to Athens with him a long with her children. This would stop Medea
from committing the murders by removing her from the country, including her children, which
would prevent them from her fear of slavery or execution. If I were in the play, I would have tried
to intercept the delivery of the diadem and robe by

African-American Literacy
According to the author, education was not bestowed upon African American by enlightened
citizens. Literacy is viewed as a valuable commodity that African Americans have had limited
opportunities to acquire. And for them becoming literate is perceived as continuous struggle. So
Literacy serves emancipatory function when appropriate to reconstruct a society, so it limits access
to those who are not literate to participate in all cultural institutions. According to Harris, European

Data/information is always a most important asset for any organization whose security cannot be
compromised. With the advances in technology, the risk to these valuable assets increases. So
their security is a big challenge. In [8] different database security layers are defined shown in
figure (2) below. These layers are: database administrator, system administrator, security officer,
developers and employee. For each layer some well defined security policies have been anticipated.
These policies ensure the security features, privacy, confidentiality and integrity.
This study mainly focuses on issues in databases security and measures taken to solve those issues.
Securing sensitive data from illegal access, theft and forging becomes a big challenge for different
organizations, like government, no government and privates sectors. Encryption of data in client or
server side where data is shared between different parties is not sufficient.
Basically the problem is to ensure that semi trusted database is secure or not. [6]

East of Eden vs the Kite Runner
The desire for love and the need for acceptance can create more than a feeling of rejection. In East
of Eden and The Kite Runner, many characters find the task of love daunting and insufficient to
their expectations. Love presents itself in every aspect of both novels and therefore is a major
theme. Whether it was lovefrom family or lovers, both novels explore the idea of unrequited love
and its consequences on the characters lifelong journeys. The theme of love is a major
underlying cause of many problems within East of Eden for it creates a feeling of rejection by
family and lovers. The idea that love is blind becomes the center of revolution for the feelings

the same as the opposites of good and evil, strength and weakness, love and hate, beauty and
ugliness (Aubrey 1). Aron was all that symbolized angelic whereas Caleb was everything you

Group Decision-Making Paper
Research by Kouzes and Posner (2012) indicated that competence is one of the most desired
characteristics in a supervisor. In addition, research by Brauckman and Pashiardis (2011)
confirmed the need for principals to be competent in promoting cooperation and trust with all
stakeholders. Decision Making Group decision making requires leadership from all members. Our
team s effectiveness was aided by accepting compromise and valuing all contributions throughout
the process. We made decisions by asking for agreement whenever a decision was necessary or a

Effective leaders can be developed over time through study and practical experience. Some
individuals may be born with a greater propensity towards leadership, but even these individuals
must take advantage of leadership experiences in order to hone their skills. The Bible gives us
examples of men and women who appeared to be unlikely leaders, but were molded by God to
guide God s people in times of need. Moses the murderer led the Israelites to the Promised Land
and David the adulterer became the greatest king of Israel (Exodus 2 Samuel). What set these
men apart was not their genius, speaking ability or military prowess but rather their dependence
on God. The kings that followed David failed to ensure that Israel remained faithful to the Lord
and this resulted in the division of the kingdom and exile of the nation (1 2 Kings). Christian
leaders of today can look to the example of Moses and David to encourage perseverance and
commitment to following God s leading. Indeed, God will always provide the means for His
people to succeed in the roles where He places them (2 Corinthians

Compare And Contrast Petruchio In The Taming Of The Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew is one of the earliest comedies written by William Shakespeare. Some
people believe it may have been his first work written for the stage as well as his first comedy .
In The Taming of the Shrew, Petruchio is the only suitor willing to court Kate, the more
undesirable of Baptista s two daughters. Kate is never described as unattractive, but is known for
her shrewish behavior around all of Padua. Bianca, on the other hand is very sweet and charming
and beautiful; for these reasons many suitors woo her. Kate is presented to be much more
intelligent and witty than Bianca, but, ironically, she cannot compete with Bianca because of these
witty comebacks and caustic remarks she makes. All of the men who desire Bianca need ... Show

The Soviet Union Of The 19th Century
The Beginning
The idea of having the RSFSR as a enemy towards the Soviet Union at the time of the 19th
century was one of the biggest reasons why the Soviet Union took such a big downfall when it
collapsed. The RSFSR was a opposing group that was branched off from the Soviet Union,
resulting from a argument over political standings and power for both groups.1 The RSFSR wanted
a representative to stand during the meetings of the Soviet Union, however the Soviet Union did not
grant that because the representative did not win in the voting, but candidate that was favored by
the USSR won. The RSFSR was one of the main reasons why the Soviet Union had collapsed by the
end of the 19th century, including a number of other factors as well. Despite the grudges, the Soviet
Union and the RSFSR were both branched together at one point. That point didn t last very long,
but starting from the beginning, the Soviet Union rose to its power throughout the 20th century.
The rise of the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union was officially established during December during the year of 1922, with the
union of the Soviet republics from Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, and Transcaucasia, which were all
each ruled by local Bolshevik parties. The foundation of the Soviet state where a federal entity of
many republics that were constituent, each with its own political and administrative entities, was
applied from these Soviet republics. The term Soviet Russia was only related to the Russian

Mystery In Coraline By Neil Gaiman
In these paragraphs I will show how the author of Coraline, Neil Gaiman, creates mystery. I will do
this by providing various quotes and analysing them.
Neil Gaiman creates mystery in the quote There was a cold, musty smell coming from the open
doorway, it smelled like something very old and very slow by making us want to know what this
smell. Also mystery is created in this passage with the adjective cold this links to mystery as in
most ghost films and books, whenever a ghost (or an undead creature is present) it always get s a
little bit colder. This is mysterious as this makes us think if this scent is coming from the dead.
Another interpretation is from the adjective musty this word means old or antique, and it is unusual
as we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly Neil uses the reflexive pronoun We this implies that no matter how small these creatures
are there are a lot of them, it s almost as if they have an army. He also uses the modal verb will
and this creates suspense as they are guaranteeing that Coraline will fall and that they will witness,
this makes us ask if these creatures have supernatural abilities. The word here implies that these
creatures could know where she will fall and they aren t telling her so that she will follow them.
Could they be spies from the other mother? Another interpretation is for the pronoun you. You
might be thinking that this doesn t mean anything, however this could specify to Coraline,
meaning that they have been watching her and they know everything about her... And lastly
mystery is caused using the dynamic verb fall this is mysterious as these creatures are telling her
when she will die, and in a way they are threatening her. This is mysterious as we want to know
why all of this is happening to Coraline and not any other

Citizen Kane Is A Quarry For Filmmakers
As esteemed film director William Friedkin once said; Citizen Kane is a quarry for filmmakers .
It is undeniable that Citizen Kane is the epitome of the great American film. It was initially
released in 1941 and was met with great criticism . However, since its release many years ago it is
evident that the film made advancements in cinema techniques which were well ahead of its time .
The foremost reason Citizen Kaneis considered one of the great American films ever created is due
to the innovative film techniques that director Orson Wellesbrought to life .These techniques include
new methods for cinematography, lighting, and sound . The cinematography in Citizen Kane is
one of the primary reasons it is viewed as one of the most celebrated works in cinema. The
initiation of new approaches to cinematography is greatly credited to cinematographer Greg
Toland. Toland who was known for his work as director of photography for such films as Dead
End (1937), Wuthering Heights (1939) which he won an academy award for, The Grapes of Wrath
(1940), and many more. The collaboration between Welles and Toland broke the traditions of
atypical 1940 s film. Essentially, this meant that there should not be great attention to participation
of the camera. However, Welles and Toland attempted to attract as much attention to the camera as
possible, by using dramatic angles and unusual shots. As Martin Scorsese said; Welles was not
afraid to be self conscious with the camera . To

Analysis on Atheism
To be honest with you I think some of McCloskey questions of the existence of God are based
and as a Christian I know I have questioned the existence of God at one point in my life. I had to
really learn the hard way. From the article one can see that McCloskey is trying very hard to
dismiss every claim of the theistic view. From the videos on blackboard, when someone decides to
prove something or someone, then that means there is certainty and assurance that thing is
absolutely true. The truth of the matter is that we cannot prove one hundred percent of the existence
of Godand that is why an Atheist like McCloskey would say that without evidence then there is no
God. McCloskey try s his best to scientifically prove that the creation of... Show more content on

I believe that every argument is defeasible. I think that the reason that McCloskey is saying this
is because he is arguing the God of the bible and not the minimalistic ideal of God. Everyone is
entitled to believe what he or she wants to believe, he saying that the cosmological argument, does
not entitle us to an all powerful and all perfect God but that still does not disvalue the rational of
there being a God in the first place and I believe that makes his statement meaningless in disproving
the necessity and presence of God.
When it comes to the teleological argument, McCloskey also claims that the teleological argument
lacks premises due to similar reasons as the cosmological argument. In short both arguments do not
prove God as a designer. In his mind, this argument is faulty because it does not show enough
evidence for the existence of God. What he means when he argues for a genuine indisputable
example of design of the universe is that he desired to see obvious proof for the existence of God.
He disagrees with the fact that it is impossible to proof something with one hundred evidence. In
Evans and Manis, when they talk about some noticeable evidences that prove the existence of God
in Philosophy of religion, they said that the way in which nature and the universe is organized and
structured there must be a

  • 2. The Acceptance Of The Green Girdle In Sir Gawain s Sir Gawain s acceptance of the green girdle and refusal to hand it over to Bertilak is Sir Gawain s first renege upon the rules of the game that he consented to, it again creates an awareness of the weaknesses within the character of Sir Gawain. He was, up until the point where he accepted the agreement with the lord s wife to leave Bertilak in the dark about the girdle, behaving as chivalrous as would seem possible considering the curious circumstances of having to be courteous to the lord s wife who is propositioning herself to him and also remain faithful to his host, coupled with the rules of their game. It is Sir Gawains natural and human fear of death that causes him to accept the invincibility rendering green girdle and agree to not tell the lord, it is his fear of death that causes him to omit to surrender it to the lord, and it is his fear of death which causes him to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be compared to the general desires of Sir Gawain and more particularly his flinch during the beheading scene, Sir Gawain s fear of death is shown to be his primary weakness, he is compared to that of an animal, again displaying the imperfections of Sir Gawain. The death that the fox endures is contrasted with that of the boar, the fox is later regarded as ignoble, the theefe dies panic stricken in the jaws of the pursuers (Burnley 1973: 3) Burnley draws parallels between the sense of disappointment that is felt by the capturing of a mere fox when hunting with the disappointment of Sir Gawain accepting the girdle as a gift, which we already see is supposed to be compared with the disappointment in the beheading test where Sir Gawain ... • 3. Essay On Clarissa And Septimus Although both Clarissa and Septimus are treated for different medical reasons, their society shows how people are treated and how the medical industry and the government do not care fully enough on these issues. Both characters put the thought of death into their stream of conscious. Unfortunately, Septimus choose the suicidal route. So, what s the difference then? Society played a huge role on both Septimus and Clarissa s decision in their life. The government and their society put little to no importance on Septimus and his issues which led to his death. In Virginia Woolf s, Mrs. Dalloway, she portrays the outlook on shell shocked veterans in the twentieth century. As for Clarissa, in the twentieth century, she was living the lavish... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Septimus s is viewed in society as a man who suffers from trauma from the war versus Clarissa, who is described and an elegant woman that loves lavish parties and hanging around her friends. Having both of the characters, Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, Virginia Wolfe presents how two different sides of society, the upper class and the middle class, can have and face very similar pressures. Each scene describing their outlooks from within Virginia s eyes show a very similar effect on the people who dwell within themselves. Woolf says that Septimus is a spitting image of Clarissa as both share the same feelings about their history with the medical industry. The both share a dark side that cast out to the reader their personality from within. Even though Clarissa showed many similar qualities in regards to Septimus, she decided upon herself to live as she has things to take care of in her life. Like Septimus, Clarissa too suffers from the war. Even though they were both emotionally beaten to the bone, Clarissa decided to stay where she s at while Septimus chose another route. In the book Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf wanted to cast the social system and bash it for how it worked. Her intricate focus is focusing not on the people, but on the morals of a certain class at a certain historical moment. Clarissa shares ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Techniques of Coding Theory Bit strings composed of zeros and ones are the most usual way to represent, change and communicate information. This data however s subject to errors due to a variety of factors, such as deterioration of magnetic tape over time, or a scratch on a CD or DVD. Coding theory uses techniques that can help find the errors. However if there are too many errors, the techniques may not always work. One of the first techniques is the error detecting codes, which adds a parity check bit to the end of the bit string. The idea is to add an extra bit to the end of the code to make it either even or odd. For example, if there are an even numbers of 1 s, a 0 is added to the end of the string, and if there are an odd number of 1 s then a 1 is added to the end of the string. When reading the code, if the will use the parity bit to determine if the correct numbers of 1 s are in the string. If an error is made, the number of 1 s will be odd. A downfall of this technique is that only an odd number of errors will be detected by the technique because if an even number of errors are made, the number of 1 s read will still be even and an error will not be found. The next technique is the error correcting code, which take redundancy into account. It can detect errors and then correct them. By using the triple repetition code, which repeats a message three times, we can decipher a string using the simple majority rule which will compare the bits in the original bit strings and use it to decide if an ... • 6. Portrayal Of Women In Miss Representation Miss Representation (2011) criticizes the media conglomerate s portrayal of women in film and the disproportionate amount of women involved in the industry. Whether we accept it or not, media consumption heavily influences our daily behavior and societal norms. When Hollywood casts women in a monochromatic light, often sexualizing them for sensationalism, it is hard for women to envision themselves in roles other than those portrayed and even harder for men to acknowledge women as complex individuals greater than their film presence. By grouping common media portrayals of women, Miss Representation emphasizes the lack of versatile of roles for women. Although 50.8% of the population is comprised of women, the documentary cites only 16% female protagonists in film that depict one of three generic, superficial, and stereotypical roles: the career driven boss, the sex object, and the hopeless romantic. The career driven boss is typified as solely career oriented. She sacrifices her family, friends, and even sometimes her own happiness for the sake of her job. The entire plot revolves around diminishing her accomplishments in a patriarchal world that only perceives her as bitchy. A prime example of this role would be Meryl Streepas Miranda Priestlyin the Devil Wears Prada. The next role, more dehumanizing than the last, is the sex object characterization that seeks only to use women as body props or eye candy. While these women may appear to be empowered in the beginning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the minimum return a company needs to earn in order to satisfy its investor base (as weighted for the amount of debt vs. equity in the target/capital structure), which is what the company must pay investors to raise new financing to support new projects or ventures. WACC is particularly useful here because Yeats has no debt, thus, it is an equity financed company. In the case of Yeats, the company must have capital to continue to develop and market its new Widening Gyre Program. The formula for WACC = Re (E/V) + Rd (D/V)(1 t) However, because Yeats does not have debt, the second half of this formula, Rd(D/V)(1 t) is not necessary. Being that Yeats has zero debt, the value of its equity is in full, which represents its Enterprise Value. Tax (t) is determined in the case as 40% or .40 (p. 5). We must then calculate the CAPM for the cost of equity (see Excel sheet for details): Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf) Re = Required Return on Equity Rf = Risk Free Rate = 5.98 (p. 16) Beta = Measure of Risk relative to the general market (volatility) = 1.5 (p. 5) Rm Rf = Equity Market Risk Premium (EMRP) = 5.5 (p. 16) Rm = Market Risk Rf = Risk Free Assets (U.S. treasury security) With Beta at 1, the stock price changes in precise tandem with the market, but with Yeat s beta at 1.5, it is more risky than a group of peer stocks. Thus, Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf)

As such, the courts of law must always factor in the provisions of criminal procedure and natural justice when cross examining offenders. In light of this, the exclusionary rule allows a defendant to argue his case if his privacy rights were violated before arraigned in court. In essence, the provisions of the exclusionary rule prevent the government authorities and machinery such as FBI and CIA from gathering evidence from an individual in a manner that disrespects the United States constitution. In addition, the freedom to information by government authorities must not exceedingly surpass the rights and privileges that citizens enjoy (Re and Richard, pg. 1887). What is more, the exclusionary rule provides that the extra evidence obtained because of unreasonable search or seizure will not be used in a court of law, as it will be considered fruit of the poisonous tree. In essence, the exclusionary rule excludes any evidence collected out of unlawful searches. For instance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may infringe on one his right to privacy by obtaining information from the individual his computer, as this will amount to unreasonable search and disrespect to the individual his privacy rights. As such, it is unreasonable for the government agencies such as the Department of Justice to obtain information from Google, Yahoo, Facebook, or any other online service provide, as this may be presumed by a court of law as unlawful and unreasonable search that amounts to infringement on one s privacy rights (O Brien and Michael, pg. 1889). There has been an argument among legal experts that the provisions of the exclusionary rule are merely to deter the misconduct of the law enforcement personnel. In light of this, most courts do not adhere to the provisions of the exclusionary rule as it is viewed as an extension of the Fourth Amendment. Gas Utilization Of Oil And Gas Technologies Although the difficulty in storing processing, transporting and distributing gas makes it difficult to utilise (Cost of transporting per unit energy is about 10 times higher than that of oil) (Thomas et al, 2000), the evolution in oil and gas technologies has presented many new ways for the commercialisation of APG, Technological options for the monetisation of APG categorised into the methods available for getting gas from production sites to consumers where it can consumed. In this chapter the various methods would be briefly described, highlighting obtainable products and benefits, challenges and limitations and viability conditions. These methods are summarised as shown in figure 10. Figure 10: Paths to gas monetisation 4.1.1 Pipelines This is the oldest and simplest form of gas utilization. It involves transporting treated gas from producers directly to its consumers (Speight, 2007; Kidnay et al., 2006) 4.1.1.1 Products and Benefits The product is pipeline quality gas for domestic, commercial and industrial use or for further processing. Once in place, this system aids the utilization of massive amounts of APG a well planned out pipeline network could supply numerous consumers from numerous producers 4.1.1.2 Challenges and Limitations The Pipeline system is inflexible. • 13. Jay-Z s From The Frying Pan Into The Fire Hip hop is a culture created by people who felt that some aspects of the culture of capitalism did not fit them. Hip hop was able to give them a form of expression, a means of earning and a better representation for themselves. In Jay Z s essay One Eye Open , Jay Z shares his account, as a pioneer of the genre itself, of how hip hop started to gain its popularity and standing back when he was a young child and how it provides the people means to support their needs. In her essay From the Frying Pan into the Fire , Arlie Russell Hochschild shares what does it take to create a culture, she focused on how the capitalist economic systembecame a culture itself instead of supporting one. Although hip hop may have started out as an opposition to some of the values of capitalism, a lot of aspects of the hip hop culture thrive from the capitalist economy, it just follows a different set of rules. Even though many might think that hip hop is a form of art and that capitalism is an economic system, that is not all that they are, they can also be identified as cultural systems. A culture is created when groups of people start to have unique social patterns, like their own food, cloth, language and what not. Another way a culture is created is through rituals and an ideology that a group of people start following. The culture of capitalism was created through the anxieties to which it poses itself as a necessary answer (Hochschild 145). For this reason, what used to be just an ... • 14. Analysis Of The Piano Lesson By August Wilson Hans Christian Anderson one said that where words fail, music speaks. Nowhere is this truer than in The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. The Piano Lesson tells the story of family that struggles in the side and what do with a family heirloom that takes the form of an ornately carved upright piano. Bernice wishes to keep the pianobut her brother, Boy Willie, wishes to sell the piano for land because according to him Bernice is not doing anything but letting it sit there and rot because no one is playing it. Yet despite what Boy Willie says the piano actually gets quite a bit of use in the play. Along with playing the piano the characters can also be seen singing in the play. The songs the characters sing and perform does a good job of relating the characters thoughts and actions to a more musical medium. From songs such as Maretha s beginners piece on the piano to Wining Boy s more experienced yet melancholic tune the music of The Piano Lesson tells us about the character s pasts and presents. Starting with the song Berta, Berta (which is initially sung by Boy Willie but soon joined in by Lymon, Wining Boy, and lastly Doaker), the song tells the story of a man working on Parchman Farm, known formally as the Mississippi State Penitentiary, who tells his sweetheart, Alberta, to not wait for him and to go ahead and marry. The song itself is a prison work song typically sung by those imprisoned who worked on Parchman. What this lets us know is a multitude of facts about the people singing this song. For example the most glaring fact is that they have spent time or know someone who spent time at Parchman Farm this show the racism faced by the Charles family and countless other families in early 20th century America. With Boy Willie being the one to initiate the singing of a song with such a history combined with his desire to purchase Sutter s land, as seen in various pages, one can infer that he is an ambitious albeit brash man who choses to take control of the situation the family has found itself in and honor the wishes of his father and grandfather, Boy Charles and Willie Boy respectively. Now focusing on two smaller songs you can still get a general grasp on the background of those associated with them. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overall magazines, tv commercials or any type of advertisement for the most part women are seen as a sex symbol while guys are the hard workers. I did a random you tube search for Tv commercials. Many commercials I found were banned from tv for being too sexy for Tv . A Carl s Jr. commercial shows a women walking through an outdoor garden shop and all the men are staring at her. She is walking around nude but in the commercial you are not able to see anything because there are objects that are cover her. She starts running outside and squeezes her way in between two other men that are running and ends up catching up to a few other women who are also part of the challenge. Everything is becoming a race between the women and men even though the men are outnumbered. Two women run pass a guy and pull out his headphones to slow down his pace. Now the men are all checking online and see that the women are catching up with their distant ran, so they all start to run including her husband that was sleeping. This proves that women can do the same as men or even more. On Dorito commercial called If Women s Roles In Ads Were Played By Men shows the roles reversed. Honestly to me it seems kind of strange seeing men playing the sexy hot role, definably did not catch my attention. Overall any time of advertisement will always have women as a sex symbol and men being superb to women similar to the Nike commercial. I believe this is not an accurate portrayal because women can do everything men do and vice versa. It is very uncommon to see men and women switch roles in any type of ... This will remain so in the future and will only allow computers to become faster and more reliable. In order to understand the impact of multiprocessors, it is important to understand what they are and what multiprocessing is. According to _________ Critcklow, author of _______________, the definition of multiprocessing is independent and simultaneous processing accomplished by the use of several duplicate hardware units. This definition is one way to look at what multiprocessing is; however, __________ Baer, author of ___________, gives another definition of multiprocessing. According to Baer, The ANSI Vocabulary of Information Processing defines multiprocessing as a system, broadly, as a system composed of two (or more) processing units under integrated control. Both definitions though slightly different align showing what multiprocessing truly is; the only difference is the complexity of their explanations. The computer industry has been using multiprocessors since computers were first introduced to the public. These were implemented so early in computers because there are so many advantages using them. Even in the early stages of multiprocessors, they were still faster than uniprocessors. The four variables are close to first factor axis. While, the third variable lies approximately on second factor axis. Hence, the results of varimax rotation are satisfactory because most of the variables are near to the factor axis. This large increase put pressure on the dairy industry, which was having difficult time meeting consumer demand. The shortage of raw dairy product prompted many companies to source from dairy farmers without properly conducting due diligence and fully vetting their operations. Also, the cost structure of the dairy industry and lack of government regulations incentivized dairy farmers to dilute their milk so they could sell more of their product. This incentivized the dairy farmers to find ways to stretch their product further and increase margins. Dairy farmers must be properly compensated for their product if the quality of the milk is to be maintained. The dairy industry must also do a better job at ensuring the quality of the product it receives from its milk providers. Obviously the dairy farmers found a way to get around the protein test. The dairy companies should instead follow the lead of their French and Australian counterparts and conduct a true protein test prior to payment. This would eliminate the ability of the dairy farmers to cheat the test as they had in the past. The government also has a responsibility to fix this issue the dairy industry is facing. The government failed to adequately monitor the quality of the milk being sold by dairy companies. The Chinese government knew as early as 2004 that there was an issue with the milk supply when the big head disease occurred yet there was little government action to determine the scope of this problem. The government should have regulations the dairy industry must meet to protect its citizens, similar to what is prevalent in developed countries today. The interactions that occur between people and non human animals, particularly in the Appalachian region, has led to profound changes both on the local community and the nation. The most significant interaction to take place and has influenced the area drastically is domestication. The introduction of domestication previous to and after the Neolithic Revolution has harbored new relationships between humans and animals that have altered the mountain face, culture, and economy of the Appalachian region. The most prevalent human animal interaction to be observed and widely practiced in the Appalachian Mountains is the keeping of domesticated animals. The region was widely used as hunting and gathering land previous to colonial expansion. • 44. Analysis Of Robert Frost s White In 1922, Robert Frost wrote the poem In White. Frost then revised this poem fourteen years later and published it under the title Design. On the surface, the speaker in the poem describes a situation in which a spider has killed a moth on a heal all flower. But, as the layers are peeled back, there arises a conflict between the speaker and him/herself. The internal conflict stems from the world s design or lack thereof. Frost takes a simple thought on design and makes the reader question life and the nature of creation through a random, haphazard occurrence of a spider, a moth, and a flower. To start the poem, the speaker stumbles upon a fat and white spider on a white heal all, holding up a moth (1 2). This doesn t tell the full story, but it does show the reader that there is a random occurrence between a spider, a moth, and a flower. As shown in the legend, a heal all flower is usually blue but in this case it is white. The spider, which is generally dark colored, is white as well. And the moth that is in the spider s hands is like a white piece of rigid satin cloth . (3) A rigid, satin cloth symbolizes a coffin which shows that the moth in the spider s arms is dead. After the first three lines there are two conclusions to be made: (1) There is a random occurrence of a rare, white spider climbing on a rare, white heal all flower; (2) The spider represents darkness and evil. It is using the flower as camouflage to kill the moth. Finally, showing the characters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He also uses the modal verb will and this creates suspense as they are guaranteeing that Coraline will fall and that they will witness, this makes us ask if these creatures have supernatural abilities. The word here implies that these creatures could know where she will fall and they aren t telling her so that she will follow them. Could they be spies from the other mother? Another interpretation is for the pronoun you. You might be thinking that this doesn t mean anything, however this could specify to Coraline, meaning that they have been watching her and they know everything about her... And lastly mystery is caused using the dynamic verb fall this is mysterious as these creatures are telling her when she will die, and in a way they are threatening her. This is mysterious as we want to know why all of this is happening to Coraline and not any other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is undeniable that Citizen Kane is the epitome of the great American film. It was initially released in 1941 and was met with great criticism . However, since its release many years ago it is evident that the film made advancements in cinema techniques which were well ahead of its time . The foremost reason Citizen Kaneis considered one of the great American films ever created is due to the innovative film techniques that director Orson Wellesbrought to life .These techniques include new methods for cinematography, lighting, and sound . The cinematography in Citizen Kane is one of the primary reasons it is viewed as one of the most celebrated works in cinema. The initiation of new approaches to cinematography is greatly credited to cinematographer Greg Toland. Toland who was known for his work as director of photography for such films as Dead End (1937), Wuthering Heights (1939) which he won an academy award for, The Grapes of Wrath (1940), and many more. • 56. Analysis on Atheism To be honest with you I think some of McCloskey questions of the existence of God are based and as a Christian I know I have questioned the existence of God at one point in my life. I had to really learn the hard way. From the article one can see that McCloskey is trying very hard to dismiss every claim of the theistic view. From the videos on blackboard, when someone decides to prove something or someone, then that means there is certainty and assurance that thing is absolutely true. The truth of the matter is that we cannot prove one hundred percent of the existence of Godand that is why an Atheist like McCloskey would say that without evidence then there is no God. McCloskey try s his best to scientifically prove that the creation of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that every argument is defeasible. I think that the reason that McCloskey is saying this is because he is arguing the God of the bible and not the minimalistic ideal of God. Everyone is entitled to believe what he or she wants to believe, he saying that the cosmological argument, does not entitle us to an all powerful and all perfect God but that still does not disvalue the rational of there being a God in the first place and I believe that makes his statement meaningless in disproving the necessity and presence of God. When it comes to the teleological argument, McCloskey also claims that the teleological argument lacks premises due to similar reasons as the cosmological argument. In short both arguments do not prove God as a designer. In his mind, this argument is faulty because it does not show enough evidence for the existence of God. What he means when he argues for a genuine indisputable example of design of the universe is that he desired to see obvious proof for the existence of God. He disagrees with the fact that it is impossible to proof something with one hundred evidence. In Evans and Manis, when they talk about some noticeable evidences that prove the existence of God in Philosophy of religion, they said that the way in which nature and the universe is organized and structured there must be a ...
