Edvard Grieg
Edvard Grieg was born in Bergen, Norway on June 15th, 1843. When Edvard was just six his
mother taught him how to play the piano. He studied at many different schools including Tanks
school and Norwegian private school when he got older. While he was at Norwegian private
school he met a violinist, who said that with his amazing talents, he should go to Leipzig
Conservatory which is a piano school. He decided that it wasn t for him. In 1860 Edvard survived
a lung disease this caused him to have problems throughout his life. He then made his grand

The Iron-Sulfur-Made Up Hypothesis
There are many different ideas of how life began on Earth, and it seems that people can not agree
on one. Scientists believe that life must have began as early as 3.8 billion years ago, but they still
can t decide on how it started. There are many theories that explain different ways it may have
began.
The Primordial Soup Hypothesis was presented by The Russian Chemist A.I. Oparin and English
Geneticist J.B.S. Haldane. They came up with this idea in 1920. In this theory, they thought that the
combination of some chemicals and a source of energy made amino acids, which later evolved into
the first life on Earth. They believed that life started in an ocean or pond. In 1950, Stanley Miller
and Harold Urey did an experiment to test this hypothesis by mixing gases from Earth and sparking
the mixture to represent lightning. The conclusion came to be amino acids. These scientists thought
that this hypothesis could be correct because the current scientific level did not show any problems
with their ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He thought that a metabolic cycle was capable of producing complex compounds. Over time,
lipids would have built up on the pyrite and made an enclosed membrane that may have evolved
into the first cell. Other scientists tested this theory by accumulating amino acids on a pyrite
surface. He believed that Chemoautotrophic organisms were the first organisms on Earth. This
theory was believed because it was supported by evidence as some of the other theories were not

Default Judgements Analysis
Respecting both human and cultural differences in a society is vital as a society can only
wholly prosper when respect is mutual among all parties. In order for respect to be mutual
among everyone, default judgements need to be fully brought to an end. It is important for the
issue of default judgements to be resolved as they negatively impact societies as a whole,
whether that be a group of people or even an individual person. As previously stated, default
judgements create just one singular story for an entire group of people. A person is more than just
what appears at face value as there is always more to one than a single label. As Adichie discussed
in her previously mentioned speech, a professor in the United States of America suggested... Show

The work of the likes of Anthony Bourdain and Iris Zaki have helped in overcoming the danger
of a single story in that they show true images of people in countries such as Iran, thus allowing
people to better understand them. If people develop a better understanding of Iranians, then
there is a great opportunity that any default judgements about them may be vanquished. In
Bourdain s work, the Iranian people are shown as overall friendly people, that enjoy conversing,
listening to pop music, as well as eating dishes such as chelow kebabs. It is also discussed in his
work how Middle Eastern countries, such as Iran, are all grouped into one by foreigners in that
they are all oppressive to women. It is stated in Bourdain s work that not all countries in the
Middle East are oppressive to women in the vein of how Saudi Arabia is. It is stated that unlike
in Saudi Arabia, women are able to partake in activities such as driving and voting in Iran.
Through watching Bourdain s work, one may be able to see Iranian people for who they truly are
rather than what they are portrayed as in one s own default judgement. As for Zaki s work, both
Arab and Jewish women eat and converse at a hair salon named Fifi s . Although both the Arab and
Jewish women come from very different cultures, they develop an understanding and respect for
one another through their time at the salon. They accept each other for who they are as they have a
clear understanding of one another through the conversations that they have had. Through these
understandings of one another, the danger of a single story can be

What Are The Reasons For The War Of 1812 Dbq
The war of 1812 appeared to be one of the most controversial wars in the history of the United
States. Among the reasons that are used to explain it one can identify Britain s disrespect of
American rights, the trade interference, and impressment of seamen. However, the cause of this
war is still disputed. One of the reasons for the war was the Washington administration s Embargo
of 1794 when the Congress declared a thirty day embargo on all ships and vessels in American
ports (Volume 15). Thus, the British lost a substantial amount of profit. Besides, the reasons for the
war include, for example, the wish of the Great Britain to use the Indian people as a means of
gaining more territories which led to the Shawnee tribe opposing the Americans

Essay about The Slave Trade and Britain Today
The Slave Trade and Britain Today The slave trade has no relevance in Britain today
It is difficult to agree with this statement, Britain hold a wide variety of race and for them and
their ancestor s slavery was only yesterday however For the British slavery is seen as being their
history. Within this essay I will explain the differences between race and racism, I will also include
the history of the slave trade and how it came about.

socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, geographic location. Traditional or chattel slavery (slave
trade) involves the buying and selling of people, they are often abducted from their homes,
inherited or given as gifts. (O Donnell 1992)
Its only the past hundred and fifty years or so that attempts have been made to put racism on a
scientific footing, before that discriminatory practices were usually justified or condemned on
religious beliefs, whites were seen as the offspring of Adam and Eve which in tern were classed as
the advantaged. (O Donnell 1992)
The roots of racial division lie within the expansion of the European empire during the eighteenth
and nineteenth centuries, after the Second World War the British Empireexpanded to the Far East
which is when the occupation of India, Pakistan and large parts of Africa along with several
islands in the West Indies took place. The exploitation of Africans (mainly West Africans) was a
key factor in laying the foundations for the future racial conflict. Slave traders were mainly from
Britain, Spain, France and Portugal; they kidnapped Africans and transported them to the southern
USA where they were forced to work on sugar, rum, tobacco and cotton plantations. (O Donnell

Trader Joe s Marketing Model
Introduction Founded in 1958 by Joe Coulombe and now established with more than 365 stores in
the United States, Trader Joe s has been serving customers with their unique business model.
Trader Joe s specializes in organic and natural food offering staples like milk, eggs, and other
foods with below average price points. Trader Joe s encourage their customers to buy the product at
a low price without having to be registered with the store. Once the company makes contacts with
the manufacturer of the particular foodproduct, it then establishes contracts with the producer to the
supply the food and allocates the space needed in their store (Trader Joe s, 2016).
Analysis
Trader Joe s sells gourmet foods to its customers with a low cost business model, which may
seem very difficult to maintain, due to the rising costs in the international markets and the United
States. However, with Trader Joe s long term experience in operations and limited variety of
products, this enables the company to reduce costs and transfer those savings to their customers.
Furthermore, Trader Joe s has a very efficient management process that allows keeping the product
costs down to keep their customers satisfied. The management process is very significant for
Trader Joe s in which they have planned marvelously to carry certain products which is obtained at
a discounted price from their suppliers. Additionally, Trader Joe s keep costs down to a minimum
by choosing non prime store locations. For

Divine Love In The Inferno
In Dante s masterwork, The Divine Comedy, Dante traverse through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise.
He is lead through the inferno by the ancient poet Virgil, and while Virgil is still present as a guide
through Purgatory, there is a defined shift in his role. Through Inferno, he is without a doubt a
knowledgeable guide, whilst in Purgatorio, Virgilwalks behind Dante and often relies on the souls
ascending Mount Purgatory to help led the way. Dante uses this shift, and the allegorical
representation of Virgil as human reason, to show that comprehension of pure love is beyond
human reason. Dante claims that Neither Creator nor his creatures move, / as you well know... but
in the action / of animal or of mind directed love (Dante, XVII.... Show more content on

52 54). This is the first distinct change in Virgil s role; he goes from confident leader in the first
Canto, to perplexed bystander, eventually following Dante s idea to ascend the ledge and seek
help from the souls of Purgatory. This can be explained literally, in that Virgil is an ancient to
whom the idea of Purgatory would be foreign, but it also serves an allegorical purpose to show
the tension between love and reason. While still on the first ledge, Virgil has the assurance to
lead Dante my Guide led and I followed (IV. 24) but is still in search of someone who may serve
as guide (IV. 39). It is possible for Virgil to understand how to ascend Mount Purgatory both
because in the literal sense, he is aware that the proper path must be upwards and because though
he lacks the conception of pure love, he is still able to reach after it. On the second ledge of Ante
Purgatory, Virgil and Dante find their first additional guide, not counting Cato, who, though he
does guide the poets by way of instruction, does not actually climb with them. Sordello, a Mantuan
like Virgil, is, in a similar manner to Cato, a false guide, as he leads the poets back down the
mountain (allegorically, further into sin), in order to ascend further. Even after this descent, it is
neither Virgil, nor Sordello who eventually lead Dante to the Gate of Purgatory,

The appearance of a situation, person or place may sometimes be at total odds with its actual
reality, and thus change previous conceptions held of a thing or person. In Sir Gawain and the
Green Knight and Chaucer s The Franklin s Tale, not only are there illusions throughout the tale s

to the initial idea the reader held at the onset. Sir Gawain and the Green knight is believed to be the

Perceptual Set
The aim of this study was to further investigate whether the interpretation of an ambiguous stimulus
is influenced by immediate past experience, and, therefore, by the establishment of a perceptual set.
It is based on an experiment conducted by Bugelski and Alampay (1961). It was hypothesized that
interpretation of an ambiguous stimuli that can be perceived as either a rat or a human face will be
influenced by the context under which they view the figure and their past experience with other
figures. That is they will be influenced by their perceptual set. The results from this study supported
the hypothesis with the results showing that 88.9% of the participants shown animals perceived the

Analysis Of The TED Talk Txtng Is Killing Language
The first text message was sent 25 years ago, on December 3, 2017, another leap forward in
communications technology. Texting, like the fax, email, or instant messages allowed people to
communicate nearly instantaneously through writing. As texting and other forms of instant
messaging have developed, so have new ways to abbreviate words used throughout instant
communication. These abbreviations feature phrases like, LOL which is laughing out loud,
THNX which is thanks, and BRB which is be right back. The essay, Texting by David Crystal

Malnutrition And Crohn s Disease
Malnutrition is a condition in which a person is not getting the right amount of nutrients that they
need to remain healthy. It can range from being mild to being detrimental to both physical and
mental health. It can occur because a person is not eating a diet that provides enough nutrients the
body needs, or the person is not absorbing the nutrients that the body is receiving. Even lacking one
vitamin from your diet is considered malnutrition. Malnutrition can also be a result of Crohn s
disease, cystic fibrosis, celiac disease, or persistent diarrhea or vomiting. Having anorexia is also a
cause of malnutrition because of the restrictive calorie intake. Drug addiction or being an alcoholic
can affect the body s ability to absorb the nutrients which will cause malnutrition as well. It is
possible to be obese and have malnutrition if they are not getting enough nutrients from all the food

Short Essay On Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal
The globalisation processes conduce to the blurring of boundaries between nations. The modern
life let us feel ourselves the global citizens, according to the concept of global citizenship. Every
year, tourists totalling two times the population of Agra pass through its gates to catch a glimpse of
one of the most magnificent and spectacular buildings in the world. Few leave disappointed after
seeing this beautiful site.
One of the most famous and beautiful architectural monument that attracts the masses from all over
the world is Taj Mahal. Built in the 17th century, a great example of the Mughal architecture. Its
marble dome, tilted minarets and majestic tombs has become a source of wonder and delight for
millions of people.
The Taj Mahal was ordered to be constructed by the Indian ruler Shah Jahan, from materials
including lapis lazuli, jade, amethyst, etc. The Taj Mahal complex includes a main gateway, a
garden, a red sandstone mosque, and a building called the jawab. Shah Jahan had desired to build a
second mausoleum across the river, to have his own remains buried there and the two mausoleums
to be connected with bridges. Unfortunately, these plans never took shape.

age that we live in, and I have found that a knowledge of some electronics has greatly helped my

The outer shell of electrons that orbit the nucleus of an atom is called the valance shell. This is
what makes a copper atom conduct. For a copper atom the number of electrons is one. When a
charge of electricity is placed in the end of a wire the electrons move into the wire. Since there is
only one electron in the valance shell of a copper atom it can be easily dislodged with a small
amount of energy causing it to jump to the next atom. This will then cause the valance electron of
that atom to jump to the next atom and so forth. This movement happens very fast making it
possible for a large number of electrons to move through the wire. An example of a conductive
atom is shown figure 1.
Now we will move onto other materials that are involved with electronics. The next group of
materials that will be discussed are insulators. An insulator is a material that does not conduct
electricity at all but will resist or stop it from traveling further. An insulating atom has eight
electrons in its valance shell which makes this shell complete. Eight is the most electrons that any
atoms can have in their valance shell this is why these are called insulators, no more electrons can
fit in the valance shell of these atoms.
We have now discussed the two extremes in electronic materials; a conductor, and an insulator we
will now move to a material that lies in between these two, a semiconductor. The

A Sociological Perspective On Homelessness
Currently, the rates of homelessness in America continue to drastically increase. The U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (2012) depicted how many people are
homeless in a single night in America. The findings revealed that there were approximately
633,782 people who are homeless in America or 20 out of every 10,000. Approximately 394,379
are single individuals and 239,403 are people in families with 77,157 homeless families in a
single night, and approximately 162, 246 are children. Veterans are more likely to be homeless
than those who are non veterans, approximately 29 out of every 10,000 veterans are homeless.
Unfortunately, 38 percent of those who are homeless are unsheltered, either living on the streets or
in places that are not suitable for human inhabitation. Most states account of for less than 1% of
homeless population, whereas Texas contains approximately 5.4% of America s homeless
population. In San Antonio, there are approximately 2,981 people who are homeless each day,
and 1,243 are unsheltered. Through a sociological perspective, the social problems of
homelessness can be analyzed through the concept of sociological imagination, the comparison of
the person blame approach and the system blame approach, and through the analysis of one s own
community s effort in helping those who are homeless. Firstly, C. Wright Mills concept of
sociological imagination is stimulated by a willingness to view the social worlds from the

If a person was taken hostage by the government to create a dangerous chemical and then it is
used to kill a species without you knowing are you a bad person? This is the circumstance that

In John Kessel s article I agree with the fact that Ender was manipulated from the beginning as he
says, The extreme situation Card has constructed to isolate and abuse Ender guarantees our
sympathy. After Ender is manipulated into entering Battle School. But after he makes this
statement, and draws a false conclusion. He believes this is all an attempt at sympathy and is the
reason we believe his actions are justified. The manipulation though was not for sympathy it was
cruel and lead him not have a choice in his life and doings. Such as In Ender s Game when at the
when when Ender was talking to Graff: Of course we tricked you into it. That s the whole point,
said Graff. It had to be a trick or you couldn t have done it. It s the bind we were in. We had to
have a commander with so much empathy that he would think like the buggers, understand them
and anticipate them.(298) There is no doubt that Ender was manipulated because Graff said it
himself he was tricked and really had choice for his future. This is another argument that disproves

... Divorced, Beheaded, Survived
The story, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived, takes place in two different settings. The first (The
flashbacks) setting we get introduced to is the childhood neighborhood of Sarah and her older
brother Terry. We hear about them and their friends, and how they used to play together in the
game of playing the Tudors (old English royal family). The flashbacks are between the years 1973
and 1974. The second setting is taking place in the present time, in the home of Sarah, with Sarah
as the main character. She has a family with her husband Lyle and together they have 2 children,
Coco and Mark. In both settings death is appearing. First there is the death of Terry and in the
present path we hear about the death of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first word, divorced, can be used to illustrate how she and her brother takes distance from
each other, when Sarah learns about her brothers illness. The second word, beheaded, can be
used to illustrate the death of Terry. Not only does Sarah lose him but the other children too.
They are avoiding Sarah. And at last the word survived, can be used to show the Sarah survives.
The title becomes a symbol on that even if someone close to us dies, we have to keep on with
our lives and not let it be a burden for the rest of our lives. Even though that it how Sarah s is
living her life.
In the story Sarah has a huge burden. She keeps the death of her brother a secret to protect the
childlike innocence of her children. But her attempt on hiding it is in vain, because Coco and
Mark already know about Uncle Terry. But it s not just to protect her children it s also about
protecting herself because the death of Terry still effect her. Maybe that s why that Mark reacts
the same way as her mother when Peter died. I can conclude from this story that the only way to
get over the loss of a loved one is through talking with another person.

Our Fantasies Can Be More Powerful than the Universally...
Whether fantasy can be more powerful than the universally accepted version of reality is debatable.
Phillip Dick had once claimed, reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn t go away,
suggesting the existence of things that are fundamentally and inevitably real. Conversely, Albert
Einstein s proposal that reality itself is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one, also seems
valid. Perhaps then, the extent to which fantasycan take precedence over any objective truth
depends on one s willingness to self delude and construct their ideal world. And only when
accepted by others or the need to feel in control of our lives is prominent, can it become almost real
and conquer.
It is true that the world we inhabit presents to us many situations from which there is no physical
escape. Where these lie on the scale of bad to good depends on our unique circumstances and of
course, how we perceive it to be. Our initial reality is set out for us, the time frame and place of
upbringing, culture, social class and gender being unchangeable factors. Similarly, there is a
common acknowledgement of things that are essentially real, those we can objectively sense. In a
Streetcar Named Desire, Stella has assumed the submissive role as Stanley s wife, required to
constantly tolerate his volatile nature, cater for his sexual needs and support his every decision.
This is her unusual reality. Although at times she appears to get by through optimism, he was as

The Neo-Assyrian Empire
The Assyrians were very successful as empire builders. Although the Sea People destroyed their
domain a couple of times, the Assyrians still managed to revive creating the Neo Assyrian
Empire, in which their realm expanded especially in the Middle East and took control over
Egypt. During the Neo Assyrian Empire, the Assyrians were able to master the skill at using
chariots and the proficiency of iron smelting. They developed iron weapons and the first true
cavalry force that gave them a huge advantage over their neighbors who still used copper and tin
weapons. Consequently, the Assyrians became an unrivaled power over the ancient Near East and
began exploring artworks and ways they could adorn their cities. The Assyrians were also famous
for building great roads that allowed them to move quickly from place to place. Likewise, they

The Persians were well known for their respect for other cultures and religious practices. Cyrus,
the Persian ruler had allowed the Jews to build the Second Temple in Jerusalem and worship as
they pleased. The Persians believed that individuals possess free will and can choose to sin or
not sin (Joshua Cole and Carol Symes 51). Additionally, as the Persians enforced a standardized
currency and a system of weights and measures, it contributed for the trade and commerce
growth. And with the accumulation of wealth, it improved the quality of life. Beyond that, when
Croesus, king of the kingdom of Lydia decided to attack Persia in order to preserve his own
realm from conquest, the Persians were able to counterattack and defeat Croesus forces. Yet,
Cyrus kept Croesus as an advisor rather than a prisoner. A similar action from Cyrus was evident
when he freed the Hebrews who had been held captive in Babylon since 586 B.C.E. These two
actions were enough to conquer people s trust and loyalty and maintain the Persians enormous

The Success And Success Of Thomas Farrow s Success
Thomas Farrow was a very smart man who had a great idea and followed through with it. He
decided to start a bank and run things in his own way without much oversight from other
banking professionals. His stubbornness and greed got in the way of what could have been a
very successful venture. He would not be the first person to make a mistake while taking on a
new venture. Mr. Farrow let early success cloud his vision of a long and success bankby not
listening to those who knew better. He knew that he was providing services that were not
available at other banks so he set out to capitalize on those endeavors. Mr. Farrow only saw
money, and this is clearly why he failed where other banks succeeded. By ignoring simply and
well established banking practices, Mr. Farrow set his bank up for failure. Thomas allowed his
hubris to cloud his judgment and in the end he would listen to no one.
Mr. Farrow had competitors that kept an eye on his success and wanted some of the same.

Self Reflexivity In Oral History
Sugiman illustrated four ways that self reflexivity was essential for an oral historian, those
being able to navigate opposing or contesting ideas, being open to critique, being aware of ones
own biases, and being conscious of self and personal choices and objectives (p. 301). In terms of
being open to critique, this is important for any type of work and it allows for growth as a
researcher but also as an individual. As mentioned in the previous question, shared authority is
important, but also means you are required to be open to critiques and have the ability to move
forward. Conducting oral historyis more personal than say looking through diaries in archives as

Social Issues Of Rap Music
Since its origin in the late 1970 s in the South of Bronx in New York City, hip hop has emerged
as a national predominant form of music in America. Also known as rap music, it is consistent
with fast rhythmic vocals that gained popularity for speaking the raw truth of matters many
people were scared to deal with. Artists originally used this creative platform in order to give a
voice to the urban poverty in America. However, the main issue in urban areas changed. The
matter became more about the increase in violence particularly towards the harassment black
communities faced by police. Consequently, rap music became more violent to this new racial
uproar in the streets. It developed a new subgenre of rap called gangsta rap. Moreover, racial abuse
continued to be present in the urban streets, such as the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Because of this
gangsta rap remained as the main component of hip hop to this day. Due to its explicit
presentation of violence, it is assumed to be a genre of unconscious vulgarity causing critics to
deem it as detrimental to society. However, rap music does not cause violence but instead brings
awareness to the violence already present to the world, specifically urban areas. Despite common
belief, rap music is beneficial to our society due to its creation of platforms for social injustices to
be addressed as an attempt to bring awareness to these issues. Rap music brings a new perspective
to social issues. Many of these social issues such

Importance Of The Second Vatican Council
What was the Second Vatican Council Church?
The second vatican council was the 21st representative of different catholic churches recognised by
the Roman catholic church. It was organised by Pope John the thirteenth on January 25, 1959 in
Saint Peter s Basilica, Vatican city, Rome and existed until 1965. It s purpose was to renew the
spiritual relations of the church so that they may reconsider the church practises and also pray with
other denominations (A religious denomination is a secondary group within a certain religion that
abides under a common name, tradition, and identity). The Second Vatican councilwas extremely
important as it offered change to the churches which allowed it to evolve and grow with the world.
Many documents had to be signed by an assembly of Roman Catholic church leaders.
The Vigil (aka Wake)
Before Vatican ll, the Vigil, commonly known as wake is a holy day when the family of the
deceased or others that were close, gathers around the dead one to pray for that person,
remember their loved ones life and comfort one another. It is an occasion of religious observance
where the family of the dead stays up during the night rather than sleeping, to keep watch on the
deceased. However, after Vatican ii came into play there were many changes to be made. These
changes meant the following: the Vigil could be informally arranged anywhere the family wanted it
to be, as long as the place was respectful. The church recognised that it was upto the family to

Appalachia Mountains are rich in natural resources, containing an abundant number of coal, timber,

Wine And Dating Research
In the 1900 s, dating was a felony. During the same time in history, BC had archaic liquor laws.
Thank goodness to progress! The similarities between wine and dating don t end at the turn of the
century. The two articles led me to notice the similarities between the stages of dating and learning
about wine.
After all, both have the same fear of looking stupid and worrying what the other thinks of us.
Since the reward for either is so good, we go ahead anyways. All those fears fade away the more
we practice and get comfortable with it. Somehow, we forge ahead thinking about all the promise it
may bring.

a strong grasp of what is important. You know why wine tastes the way it does in the same way
this person makes total sense in your life. Finally, either mate or grape feel like the norm. You talk
about the future with ease will you move in together or take a trip to Burgundy next year? Despite
the comfort that comes at this level, there is always more to learn about wine or a person.
For the purpose of this article I have shown the parallels between wine and dating, but dating is
much more complicated in real life. The level of dedication to learning about wine is more
flexible and personal. In the wine world, few will ever have the resource to try a Chateau Lafite

the path you choose is fun, interesting, and conceivably inebriating.

However, they do not actually realize the importance of practicing it in daily life.
On top of that, financial problems also contribute to the students misbehavior. Due to lack of
money, some students steal other students money or belonging . There have been many cases of
money being stolen and bags with new books lost too. Although they can be categorized as
underprivileged students, this does not give them the right to steal other peoples money and things.
They should however be given help by the school authority.
Apart from that, peer pressure is definitely one of the reasons why students are involved in
disciplinary cases. Nowadays, there is a current trend where good is bad and bad is good . The bad
guys in school are seen as cool and the good guys are seen as nerds . Thus, some students join
these bad gangs to be well known and if they do not join or do not carry out disciplinary
problems, they may be labeled as losers . This will demotivate them thus in the end, they feel that
they have no choice except for being a follower of the gangsters . If not, they may lose friends and
power.
On top of that, influence from mass media is also a factor. The mass media controls teenagers in
many ways and especially in terms of behavior. The students tend to copycat what they see in the

Comedy Of Errors Film Analysis
Hopeless and helpless doth Egeon wend. But to procrastinate his lifeless end. The Comedy of
Errors is one of Shakespeare s earliest and comedic creations, with inspiration drawn from the
Roman comedy Menaechmi. The Royal Shakespeare Company was founded in 1961 with the goal
to entertain and educate audiences on Shakespeare s works, by putting a modern twist on the
performances. Their version of The Comedyof Errors, co produced with Told by an Idiot,
manipulates the actor s movements, language and dramatic tension as well as the elements of theatre
in order to convey the comedy and irony of the play to a young audience.

The costumes lacked a time period, making them look very messy and mismatched, with people
wearing leg warmers while others wore bright blue mesh singlets. This mishmash of clothes created
a focus issue as the audience s concentration was turned towards the costumes rather than the acting
and dialogue. It is clear that the creatives were trying to the engage the younger, upper primary
audience with the crazy costumes, but they failed to do so and created confusion over their impact
to the dramatic meaning.
Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del Arte
performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was designed to be a
travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and educate students. Due to
this, the set had to be simple and transportable and Vale achieves this successfully by using a
simple square stage but managing to maintain many levels with seats behind the raised stage. Other
commedia elements, such as mask work, is also used in the production to some extent, with both
Antipoli wearing glasses that act as masks. The play also uses the idea of Master and Servants, a
noticeable feature of commedia performances. The creatives also used audience participation to tell
the story, by spraying water on them, getting them to direct actors to hidden

Overpopulation And Congestion In New York City
Traffic Doesn t Cause Congestion, People do
New York City has always had issues with overpopulation and congestion. As of July 2016, the
U.S. Census Bureau has estimated New York City s population at 8,537,673. That s an increase
of 362,500 residents (or 4.4 percent) over the April 2010 decennial census count of 8,175,133. The

Conformity Quotes In Fahrenheit 451
Don t step on the toes of the dog lovers, the cat lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs,
Mormons, Baptist, Unitarians, second generation Chinese, Swedes, Germans, Texans
,Brooklynites, Irishmen, people from Oregon, or Mexico. (Bradbury 57). This quote, a
statement from Captain Beatty, is an example of how conformity is a big ideology in the
society. His statement proves that they believe conforming removes conflict. Take away
opinions, likes, dislikes, and everyone is happy. Tell the people how they should feel and what
they should believe. Montag s society s idea of a utopia is that compliance is honing. Mildred
backed away as if she were suddenly confronted by a pack of mice that had come out of the floor.

of why she s apprehensive of the books, other than that because the society says she should be. If
a book, tradition, or common practice, anything human, doesn t conform to the societal standards,
then it is offensive, therefore in need of being burned, or forgotten. They erase books to erase the

Aging Out Movie Analysis
In the documentary Aging Out directed by Roger Weisber, it is noticeable how these three
teenagers (Risa, David, and Danielle) were trying to get out of the Foster Care System and
become independent adults. However, each one of them struggled with their task of becoming an
independent person. I will provide you with one of the sociological paradigms that I believe is
strong within the documentary. Structural Functionalism Theory, which attempts to focus on the
relationship between social institutions that are made up by society. The documentary gives
perfect examples of Functionalism because we can notice that those teenagers have all received
criticisms from all adults who are in their lives. Criticism is a big contributor to social change
(which they experienced) because people use repetitive behavior since they only do what they have
applied it, to overcome problems in the foster system, all they have accumulated from criticisms
and see no way to better themselves. Nonetheless, one big contributor to the way these teenagers
have felt with trying to enter into society is a sociological institute, which makes them meet social

Australia s Immigration Policy
Immigration, especially from Asia, was a contentious issue in Australia during the 1980s and
1990s. This was largely a direct result of Australia s involvement in the Vietnam War, and a
responsibility we had to help the large group of refugees that were a result of the war. The Blainey
debate also impacted heavily on public perception on immigration, as Professor Geoffrey Blainey,
began a critique of Australia s immigration policy. This paper is going to focus on the Blainey
debate and its impact on immigration, as well as the changes made to Australia s immigration
policy beginning in the 1970s, and the Vietnam War, which caused for the number of refugees and

As mentioned above, the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 was a key part in changing of attitudes to
how refugees were welcomed in Australia. This act, however, had its beginnings as an amendment
to the Migration Act in 1973, which introduced a non discriminatory immigration policy. This
vastly changed Australia s immigration policy, as well as changing Australia from a largely white
country, to a new multiethnic society. The way that immigrants were selected, to come to Australia,
also changed from the 1970s onwards. Stewart West, the Federal Minister for Immigration and
Ethnic Affairs, addressed this selection during a speech in 1984; Our first commitment is to honor
responsibilities to those migrants already in Australia, to honor international obligations and to
accept that humanitarian considerations apply to both these areas (Foster, 1988, pp.). One of the
new categories introduced, was the skilled migrant. This allowed immigrants with useful and
professional skills and trades to have an advantage over other immigrants when being considered
to gain visas. Family reunion is another one of these new categories, which gave priority to the
relatives of immigrants and refugees who have already relocated to Australia. The family reunion
policy also played a large role in the influx of Vietnamese refugees after the war, as those who had
escaped the communist regime, now were able to bring their families to safety in Australia as well.
Humanitarian migration is another of these categories, which specialised specifically in refugees
and providing both offshore and onshore resettlement programs. These new categories of
immigrants, as well as pressure from other countries, encouraged Australia to increase the amount

III Scene II Lines 340 350) He calls them out and tells them that he knows they are spying on him
for Claudius. The message Shakespeare is trying to portray is that if one is too rational in
making decisions, they can easily be manipulated. Lastly, Laertes develops Hamlet s view of
responsibility. Hamlet and Laertes are put in the exact same situation, but both their fathers are
murdered; yet they deal with it very differently. Laertes is quick to act when he finds out about
his fathers death. He comes back to Denmark with the idea of taking action from his father s
death. At first, he believes Claudius is behind it, and exclaims, That drop of blood that s calm
proclaims me bastard, cries cuckold to my father, brands the harlot, even here, between the chaste
un smirched brow of my true mother. (Act IV Scene V Lines 110 120) Laertes must punish his
father s murderer imminently, which contrasts to Hamlet s, who is indecisive about getting revenge
for his father s death. The message Shakespeare is trying to communicate is that people have
different ways of reacting to the same

Sir Francis Drake Essay
In 1577, Queen Elizabeth chose Sir Francis Drake as the leader of an expedition intended to pass
around South America through the Strait of Magellan and to explore the coast that lay beyond.
The queen s support was advantageous; Drake had official approval to benefit himself and the
queen as well as to cause the maximum damage to the Spaniards. This would eventually culminate
in the Anglo Spanish War. Before setting sail, Drake met the queen face to face for the first time
and she said to him, We would gladly be revenged on the King of Spainfor divers injuries that we
have received. [1] The explicit object was to find out places meet to have traffic. Drake, however,
acted as a privateer, with unofficial support from Queen Elizabeth.[2]... Show more content on

Her return and that of other investors came to ВЈ47 for every ВЈ1 invested, or a total return of
4,700%. [8]
After Drake s circumnavigation, Golden Hind was maintained for public exhibition in Deptford.
This is the earliest known example of a ship being maintained for public display because of her
historic significance. Golden Hind remained there for nearly 100 years before she eventually rotted
away and was finally broken up.
A table, known as the cupboard (pronounced cup board ), in the Middle Temple Hall (in London)
is reputed to have been made from the wood of Golden Hind, as is a chair in the Great Hall,
Buckland Abbey, Devon. Upon the cupboard is placed the roll of members of Middle Temple,
which new members sign when they are called to the Bar. The ship s lantern also hangs in the
vestibule of Middle Temple

Moving With Your Pet Cat Essay
Moving with your pet cat is harder than moving with other pets. This is because cats have hard
times adjusting. Cats have minds of their own and they are likely to stick closely to their usual
routines. You might always think that moving is very tiring and stressful but your cat is more
stressed. He doesn t know what s going on, of course. Even he is just a pet. You must consider his
needs in order to have a stress free moving. It will bring ease to your catand to you. To help your
cat understand what s going on, pack early. He will notice the things in your house kept little by
little and it will surely give him an idea that you ll be going to a new place soon. In a matter of
time, your cat will be adjusting to the boxes around your house that he ll start sniffing and
maybe even sleeping on them. Just like a human being, shocking your cat by packing only a few
days before moving will depress him and make him anxious. Never make any sudden,
unnecessary changes especially in your cat s daily routine. Feed him the usual time you feed
him. Let him find his place in the house where he ll be comfortable enough to sleep and play in
that area. Keep his toys near so that he won t wander. Make sure that he still gets the same
treatment that he gets before. These things will make him feel that no matter where you take him,
he still feels at home and secure. Don t forget to buy your cat a new Id tag with your latest home
address and you can also add your contact number. You

Lyndon B. Johnson s Involvement In The Vietnam War
The history of the Vietnam War had a violent beginning. Before the assassination of President
Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson had little to no involvement in the Vietnam conflict. Beforehand the
United States had mainly sent supplies and aid to South Vietnam against North Vietnam. After the
assassination of both president Kennedy and the President of South Vietnam, the war became
inevitable.
After becoming President, Johnson had to focus on Vietnam and the spread of communism. The
uprisings in South Vietnam after the assassination led Johnson to have more force than Kennedy
ever did. The tipping point was the gulf of Tonkin incident. Two destroyers were attacked in the gulf
of Tonkin off of Vietnam. This led to the gulf of Tonkin resolution. This joint resolution enacted by
Congress gave the President power to use military force without a declaration of war. After the gulf
incident Johnson s response to the public stated that he would not commit American troops to the
ground to fight a foreign war. Shortly after the president learned that South Vietnam was losing and
couldn t even protect United States establishments stationed there. After bombing key points in
North Vietnam, Johnson started to escalate and sent ground troops in. From that moment on
Johnson continued to escalate the war with more troops until president ... Show more content on

Under president Kennedy he advised that any escalation would turn out negatively. Ball recalled
that American would end up like the French defeat in the 1950 s in Asia. Like the French he
predicted that ground forces would be lost in the jungle and never come back due to the Vietnam
forces. American forces had never fought a war in such jungles and an enemy in there own country
with guerilla tactics. Balls main argument was that America needed to worry less about
relationships and take the time to think the situation

were done to the Jews. Over 250 synagogues and 7,000 Jewish business were burned. Any
business owned by a Jew wasn t allowed to reopen. 91 were dead and over 30,000 men were
arrested and sent to camps. The German people made Jews life a living hell and things became
harder and harder on the Jews causing them to be prohibited from certain areas of the city and
school. Only the real people and witnesses know what happened during the period of

  • 3. The Iron-Sulfur-Made Up Hypothesis There are many different ideas of how life began on Earth, and it seems that people can not agree on one. Scientists believe that life must have began as early as 3.8 billion years ago, but they still can t decide on how it started. There are many theories that explain different ways it may have began. The Primordial Soup Hypothesis was presented by The Russian Chemist A.I. Oparin and English Geneticist J.B.S. Haldane. They came up with this idea in 1920. In this theory, they thought that the combination of some chemicals and a source of energy made amino acids, which later evolved into the first life on Earth. They believed that life started in an ocean or pond. In 1950, Stanley Miller and Harold Urey did an experiment to test this hypothesis by mixing gases from Earth and sparking the mixture to represent lightning. The conclusion came to be amino acids. These scientists thought that this hypothesis could be correct because the current scientific level did not show any problems with their ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Default Judgements Analysis Respecting both human and cultural differences in a society is vital as a society can only wholly prosper when respect is mutual among all parties. In order for respect to be mutual among everyone, default judgements need to be fully brought to an end. It is important for the issue of default judgements to be resolved as they negatively impact societies as a whole, whether that be a group of people or even an individual person. As previously stated, default judgements create just one singular story for an entire group of people. The work of the likes of Anthony Bourdain and Iris Zaki have helped in overcoming the danger of a single story in that they show true images of people in countries such as Iran, thus allowing people to better understand them. If people develop a better understanding of Iranians, then there is a great opportunity that any default judgements about them may be vanquished. In Bourdain s work, the Iranian people are shown as overall friendly people, that enjoy conversing, listening to pop music, as well as eating dishes such as chelow kebabs. It is also discussed in his work how Middle Eastern countries, such as Iran, are all grouped into one by foreigners in that they are all oppressive to women. It is stated in Bourdain s work that not all countries in the Middle East are oppressive to women in the vein of how Saudi Arabia is. It is stated that unlike in Saudi Arabia, women are able to partake in activities such as driving and voting in Iran. Through watching Bourdain s work, one may be able to see Iranian people for who they truly are rather than what they are portrayed as in one s own default judgement. As for Zaki s work, both Arab and Jewish women eat and converse at a hair salon named Fifi s . Although both the Arab and Jewish women come from very different cultures, they develop an understanding and respect for one another through their time at the salon. They accept each other for who they are as they have a clear understanding of one another through the conversations that they have had. • 5. What Are The Reasons For The War Of 1812 Dbq The war of 1812 appeared to be one of the most controversial wars in the history of the United States. Among the reasons that are used to explain it one can identify Britain s disrespect of American rights, the trade interference, and impressment of seamen. However, the cause of this war is still disputed. One of the reasons for the war was the Washington administration s Embargo of 1794 when the Congress declared a thirty day embargo on all ships and vessels in American ports (Volume 15). Thus, the British lost a substantial amount of profit. Besides, the reasons for the war include, for example, the wish of the Great Britain to use the Indian people as a means of gaining more territories which led to the Shawnee tribe opposing the Americans ... • 8. Divine Love In The Inferno In Dante s masterwork, The Divine Comedy, Dante traverse through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. He is lead through the inferno by the ancient poet Virgil, and while Virgil is still present as a guide through Purgatory, there is a defined shift in his role. Through Inferno, he is without a doubt a knowledgeable guide, whilst in Purgatorio, Virgilwalks behind Dante and often relies on the souls ascending Mount Purgatory to help led the way. Dante uses this shift, and the allegorical representation of Virgil as human reason, to show that comprehension of pure love is beyond human reason. Dante claims that Neither Creator nor his creatures move, / as you well know... but in the action / of animal or of mind directed love (Dante, XVII.... This is the first distinct change in Virgil s role; he goes from confident leader in the first Canto, to perplexed bystander, eventually following Dante s idea to ascend the ledge and seek help from the souls of Purgatory. This can be explained literally, in that Virgil is an ancient to whom the idea of Purgatory would be foreign, but it also serves an allegorical purpose to show the tension between love and reason. While still on the first ledge, Virgil has the assurance to lead Dante my Guide led and I followed (IV. 24) but is still in search of someone who may serve as guide (IV. 39). It is possible for Virgil to understand how to ascend Mount Purgatory both because in the literal sense, he is aware that the proper path must be upwards and because though he lacks the conception of pure love, he is still able to reach after it. On the second ledge of Ante Purgatory, Virgil and Dante find their first additional guide, not counting Cato, who, though he does guide the poets by way of instruction, does not actually climb with them. Sordello, a Mantuan like Virgil, is, in a similar manner to Cato, a false guide, as he leads the poets back down the mountain (allegorically, further into sin), in order to ascend further. The outer shell of electrons that orbit the nucleus of an atom is called the valance shell. This is what makes a copper atom conduct. For a copper atom the number of electrons is one. When a charge of electricity is placed in the end of a wire the electrons move into the wire. Since there is only one electron in the valance shell of a copper atom it can be easily dislodged with a small amount of energy causing it to jump to the next atom. This will then cause the valance electron of that atom to jump to the next atom and so forth. This movement happens very fast making it possible for a large number of electrons to move through the wire. An example of a conductive atom is shown figure 1. Now we will move onto other materials that are involved with electronics. The next group of materials that will be discussed are insulators. An insulator is a material that does not conduct electricity at all but will resist or stop it from traveling further. An insulating atom has eight electrons in its valance shell which makes this shell complete. Eight is the most electrons that any atoms can have in their valance shell this is why these are called insulators, no more electrons can fit in the valance shell of these atoms. • 22. Our Fantasies Can Be More Powerful than the Universally... Whether fantasy can be more powerful than the universally accepted version of reality is debatable. Phillip Dick had once claimed, reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn t go away, suggesting the existence of things that are fundamentally and inevitably real. Conversely, Albert Einstein s proposal that reality itself is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one, also seems valid. Perhaps then, the extent to which fantasycan take precedence over any objective truth depends on one s willingness to self delude and construct their ideal world. And only when accepted by others or the need to feel in control of our lives is prominent, can it become almost real and conquer. It is true that the world we inhabit presents to us many situations from which there is no physical escape. Where these lie on the scale of bad to good depends on our unique circumstances and of course, how we perceive it to be. Our initial reality is set out for us, the time frame and place of upbringing, culture, social class and gender being unchangeable factors. Similarly, there is a common acknowledgement of things that are essentially real, those we can objectively sense. His stubbornness and greed got in the way of what could have been a very successful venture. He would not be the first person to make a mistake while taking on a new venture. Mr. Farrow let early success cloud his vision of a long and success bankby not listening to those who knew better. He knew that he was providing services that were not available at other banks so he set out to capitalize on those endeavors. Mr. Farrow only saw money, and this is clearly why he failed where other banks succeeded. By ignoring simply and well established banking practices, Mr. Farrow set his bank up for failure. Self Reflexivity In Oral History Sugiman illustrated four ways that self reflexivity was essential for an oral historian, those being able to navigate opposing or contesting ideas, being open to critique, being aware of ones own biases, and being conscious of self and personal choices and objectives (p. 301). In terms of being open to critique, this is important for any type of work and it allows for growth as a researcher but also as an individual. • 26. Social Issues Of Rap Music Since its origin in the late 1970 s in the South of Bronx in New York City, hip hop has emerged as a national predominant form of music in America. Also known as rap music, it is consistent with fast rhythmic vocals that gained popularity for speaking the raw truth of matters many people were scared to deal with. Artists originally used this creative platform in order to give a voice to the urban poverty in America. However, the main issue in urban areas changed. The matter became more about the increase in violence particularly towards the harassment black communities faced by police. Consequently, rap music became more violent to this new racial uproar in the streets. It developed a new subgenre of rap called gangsta rap. Moreover, racial abuse continued to be present in the urban streets, such as the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Because of this gangsta rap remained as the main component of hip hop to this day. Due to its explicit presentation of violence, it is assumed to be a genre of unconscious vulgarity causing critics to deem it as detrimental to society. However, rap music does not cause violence but instead brings awareness to the violence already present to the world, specifically urban areas. Despite common belief, rap music is beneficial to our society due to its creation of platforms for social injustices to be addressed as an attempt to bring awareness to these issues. Rap music brings a new perspective to social issues. Many of these social issues such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The second vatican council was the 21st representative of different catholic churches recognised by the Roman catholic church. It was organised by Pope John the thirteenth on January 25, 1959 in Saint Peter s Basilica, Vatican city, Rome and existed until 1965. It s purpose was to renew the spiritual relations of the church so that they may reconsider the church practises and also pray with other denominations (A religious denomination is a secondary group within a certain religion that abides under a common name, tradition, and identity). The Second Vatican councilwas extremely important as it offered change to the churches which allowed it to evolve and grow with the world. Many documents had to be signed by an assembly of Roman Catholic church leaders. The Vigil (aka Wake) Before Vatican ll, the Vigil, commonly known as wake is a holy day when the family of the deceased or others that were close, gathers around the dead one to pray for that person, remember their loved ones life and comfort one another. It is an occasion of religious observance where the family of the dead stays up during the night rather than sleeping, to keep watch on the deceased. However, after Vatican ii came into play there were many changes to be made. These changes meant the following: the Vigil could be informally arranged anywhere the family wanted it to be, as long as the place was respectful. Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del Arte performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was designed to be a travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and educate students. Structural Functionalism Theory, which attempts to focus on the relationship between social institutions that are made up by society. The documentary gives perfect examples of Functionalism because we can notice that those teenagers have all received criticisms from all adults who are in their lives. Criticism is a big contributor to social change (which they experienced) because people use repetitive behavior since they only do what they have applied it, to overcome problems in the foster system, all they have accumulated from criticisms and see no way to better themselves. This vastly changed Australia s immigration policy, as well as changing Australia from a largely white country, to a new multiethnic society. The way that immigrants were selected, to come to Australia, also changed from the 1970s onwards. Stewart West, the Federal Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs, addressed this selection during a speech in 1984; Our first commitment is to honor responsibilities to those migrants already in Australia, to honor international obligations and to accept that humanitarian considerations apply to both these areas (Foster, 1988, pp.). This allowed immigrants with useful and professional skills and trades to have an advantage over other immigrants when being considered to gain visas.
