Anterior Pituitary Gland
The Anterior Pituitary Gland is part of the Endocrine System and secretes six hormones. The Follicle
Stimulation Hormone is a hormone secrete by the Anterior Pituitary gland that promotes the formation
of ova and sperm. It is a peptide that is produce and stimulates the spermatozoa and regulates the
Graafian follicle in females. Follicle Stimulation Hormone is a gonadotropin, a glycoprotein
polypeptide hormone. A gonadotropin cell is produced in the anterior pituitary gland that then
regulates sexual development and reproduction function. The hormone is synthesized and also
regulates pubertal maturation. The production and release of this hormone is regulated by levels of a
number of circulating hormones in the ovaries and testes. This system is called a hypothalamic
pituitary gonadal axis. The hypothalamus releases the hormone that binds with receptors in the
anterior pituitary that stimulates and synthesis the release. The release is carried in the bloodstream
where it binds with receptors in the testes and ovaries. This system controls the functions of the testes
and ovaries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nerves in the hypothalamus sense when the levels rise and stop production of the FSH.As when
testosterone levels are low the opposite occurs. This is the negative feedback so that testosterone
remains steady. In women when hormone levels decline this is also sensed by nerves in the
hypothalamus, the cells are produced and sent to the pituitary gland to release into bloodstream. The
hypothalamus can also tell when there is too much in woman and signals the pituitary to stop releasing
a woman the FSH stimulates the release of an egg from a mature follicle for ovulation. The rise and
fall of the hormone level in a woman is the menstrual

Importance Of Abolition Of Child Labour
The effective abolition of child labour is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Today, we
have a better grasp of the size and the shape of the problem. More than 200 million child labourers
worldwide, some 180 million are now suspected to be toiling in the worst forms of child labour those
activities that the global community has unanimously agreed are inexcusable under any circumstances
and must be eliminated without de lay. The persistence on such a scale of this violation of children s
basic human rights casts a shadow over us all. The past decade has seen an unprecedented
convergence of thought and action around this cause, in recognition of the fact that the abolition of
child labour is an issue at the heart of social and economic development and not at its margins. The
ILO s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) has, over its ten years of
existence, become the largest single technical cooperation programme of the Organization. The ILO
will mark the first World Day against Child Labour on 12 June 2002. The physiological damage from
exposure to different substances and work processes is relatively well known for adult workers,11 but
more needs to be learned about the short and long term effects of different types of work on girls and
boys of various ages and health status.12 Such understanding is needed in order to decide what types
of work to prohibit for children under the age of 18 and to plan for appropriate

The Process of Gene Expression
The process of gene expression is used by all known life known as eukaryotes which include
multicellular organisms, prokaryotes like bacteria and Achaea, and viruses which generates the
macromolecular machinery for life. Gene expression is what turns on the genes and makes a product.
The products made could be an enzyme, a protein, or a control molecule. These products are often
proteins, but in non protein coding genes such as mRNA genes or tRNA genes, the product is a
functional RNA. The order of gene expression is transcription, RNA processing, then translation. The
control of transcription: this is the first step of gene expression when a particular segment of DNA is
copied into RNA by the enzyme RNA polymerase and is then a joined mechanism. During
transcription, a DNA sequence is read by an RNA polymerase, which produces a corresponding,
antiparallel RNA strand called a primary transcript. The order that transcription goes in would start
with the initiate transcription from a gene by binding the RNA polymerase to the promoter DNA. A
promoter is a region of DNA that initiates transcription of a particular gene. The RNA polymerase
then splits the double helix DNA molecule into two nucleotides. When doing this the breaking down
of the hydrogen bonds between DNA nucleotides occurs. The RNA and DNA helix s break apart and
the new RNA strand is complete. If the cell has a nucleus, it will then be processed again which will
then exits to the cytoplasm. During this process a

How Did The Collapse Of The Mayan Civilization
There is no conclusive evidence for what caused the collapse of the Mayan civilization during the
Classic Era. There are several historical theories supported by the historical evidence that is available.
Two of these claims are climate change based upon deforestation + drought and society s response to
environmental problems producing waves of decline exacerbated by social, political, and warfare
issues.
Deforestation + drought claims that the existing drought condition was worsened by the deforestation
to the point where cities became uninhabitable within 100 years. The Mayan s caused deforestation as
they used so many trees in in boiling lime plaster for the construction of their cities. Mayan s
consumed 20 trees per square meter for their

Technology s Impact On Technology And The Impact Of...
The Impact of Technology
Computers, laptops, cellphones, and eventually artificial intelligence? Technology has sure been
advancing rapidly, and will continue to advance for years to come. Think about all of the tasks that
once required a trip to the library that can now easily be done with a computer. Google s search
engine, for instance, significantly simplifies research you simply enter what you want, and the engine
spews out the relevant information. But the harmful effects are plentiful as well. Nicholas Carr
addresses popular concerns in Is Google Making Us Stupid, arguing that technology is molding the
human brain into an efficiency prioritizing machine, one less flexible, less artistic than the human
mind. Although technology inspires artists and informs authors, it is mostly making people stupid, for
it encourages a skimming mentality and cultivates impatience.
Before revealing technology s harmful effects, it is important to address its benefits. Proponents of
technology argue of its importance in artistic inspiration. For instance, websites like Soundcloud,
Youtube, and deviantArt allow users to share accomplishments, and many young artists are guided by
the social media of successful artists. While it is true that the internet inspires artists, it is equally true
that it limits them creatively. Commercialism creeps throughout the internet community music, art,
and film must all be popular enough to make a profit. Many young minds are robbed of their

Genetic Counseling
This disease is inherited from parents, and it is dominant, meaning only one copy of the gene is
needed to develop this disorder. It is extremely rare and it affects less than 0.01% of people of
European ancestry. See figure 2 for heredity patterns. Testing
If you want to get tested for Huntington s Disease, a genetic test can be given to see if you carry the
gene before symptoms begin. However, this test does not predict when symptoms will appear and
which ones will come first. If you decide to get tested for HD, you should contact a testing center. A
small blood sample is taken and tested for the defective gene. Samples from family members also at
risk of HD may be required to confirm the diagnosis.

Peach In Ruins
Peach Garden in Ruins! The ripe peaches in the Peach Garden were found missing when the Fairy
Maidens of the Queen of Heaven went to collect them for the Peach Festival. All evidence suggests
that the Great Sage, Equal of Heaven is the cause of this. He is suspected of eating the peaches when
they ripened. His assistants, Hoe earth, Draw water, Peach tender and Leaf sweeper, claim that the
Sage had deceived them. Draw water says, We were with him all the time. The only times we weren t

Difference Between Inorganic Growth And Organic Growth
Organic growth is where a company grows by increasing its turnover/sales revenues. (It can also be
defined as growth of a company by building on its existing knowledge or resources). With an
increased revenue the company can easily make profits, it then ploughs back the profits into the
business enabling it to grow. To increase turnover/sales revenue the company can do so through
increasing its customers (find new customers to add to existing ones) or developing new products. For
instance, Sunlight and Berendsen growth is attributed more to organic growth whereby they have been
able to increase their customers in existing locations and new EU operational areas. Inorganic growth
is growth generated through the company joining with other companies. Organic growth can be by
mergers or takeovers. A merger is where two companies through an agreement join. They agree on
how to conduct their operations, resource sharing among other aspects of their business. A takeover is
whereby a company buys/owns 51% or more of the shares of another company (The Times 100, n.d).
This gives it a right to majority voting power, it controls the management and financial decisions of
the business. Inorganic growth can take place via horizontal integration or vertical integration. Under
horizontal integration two companies or firms at the same stage of production or operating in the same
line of business join as was in the Sunlight and Berendsen which both had specialty in providing
textile services

The AIS
History speech AIS Today I will be speaking to you about the AIS or the Australian institute of sport
and how it influenced popular culture in Australia. First a brief introduction The AIS was founded on
the 26 Jan 1981 by Australia s Prime Minister at the time, Malcolm Fraser. The reason why Australia
felt the need to develop the sports program was because in the seventies Australia did not have a
strong national team of athletes. In the 1976 Montreal Olympics Australia finished 32nd overall. This
was a huge blow to a sports proud nation. The introduction of the AIS started to show results straight
away. During 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles Australia came 10th overall. This was a huge
improvement from the Montreal Olympics. The main focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The AIS has influenced the amount of people who participate in sport since 1981. The AIS started out
with only eight sports: soccer, track and field, weightlifting, tennis, swimming, netball, gymnastics
and basketball. Since then the AIS has joined with the ASC or the Australian sports commission. The
ASC looks over most sports. The AIS has promoted Australia s top athletes that they have developed.
This makes people more interested in spot. Firstly because since the introduction of the AIS the
Australian team has been very competitive and lest be honest who doesn t like to be on the winning
team and secondly people became aware that sport is an interesting activity that is everywhere. The
AIS has introduced top of the line training facility s to train specially selected athletes. For kids
watching professionals on TV or live they have seen where they started out. This helps kids set goals
of getting to the top of their game. This has also enhanced the level of skill in all sports because more
people are playing sports. The amount of people who watch sport The people in Australia put money
into sport. This is because of the Australian values witch the AIS helped enhance. The Australian love
of sport was enriched since the development of the

Chris Stapleton s Music Analysis
Chris Stapleton released his debut album, Traveller, in the Spring of 2015. This album is characterized
by what I would describe as a traditional country feel, but with a slightly more modern sound, or to be
more technical, a country rock meets blues album. This record, and Chris Stapleton himself, went
relatively unnoticed by the general public after initial release. It was not until the 2015 CMA awards
when Stapleton performed Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake that his album truly took off
(Welch). Since then, songs from Traveller can frequently be heard on national country radio stations,
as well as on tour, a show I will be attending in May. The reason I chose to review Traveller is because
Tennessee Whiskey sucker punched me in the best way possible. By this I mean that before I heard the
song, I had been ignoring most new country music and artists because I had not been connecting with
the music like I did in previous years. For the past seven years of my life I have been listening to
almost exclusively rock and metal music, music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time, Stapleton is singing with a strong, deep voice and at a slower pace, however he
displays his range full force on tracks such as Might As Well Get Stoned and Sometimes I Cry. On
Might As Well Get Stoned, Stapleton goes high in a broken manner, which would typically seem like a
mistake, however the brokenness of the notes only adds to Stapleton s emotional delivery of the song.
Sometimes I Cry is one of the most vocally profound country songs I have ever found. The first time I
listened to it, I genuinely got chills as the whole song is such an experience. The vocals of this song
are similar to Jackie Wilson s song Please Tell Me Why, as both are weeper style, though Stapleton s is
a more subdued version of it. This song best exemplifies his range on Traveller as it is easy to tell that
he puts everything into

Deer Hunting Descriptive Essay
The third Saturday of November was one filled with conflicting emotions: excitement, fear, optimism,
and nervousness. The screeching sound of the alarm at 4:00 a.m. initiated a sense of panic and thrill
throughout me; it was the opening day of the gun deer hunting season. Within minutes, I was dressed
from head to toe in bright, blaze orange that could be recognized from miles away. I reluctantly, yet
willingly, climbed into the truck to head to the hunting land in Adams County, Wisconsin. My stomach
felt like it was tied into knots. My mind was again flooded with conflicting emotions. I began to
wonder: will I get a deer? Will I not get a deer? Will I get a buck?

My eyes gravitated toward sudden movement in the right side of the binoculars. I instantly caught a
glance of a huge rack of antlers creeping out of the pine trees. Instinctively, I threw down the
binoculars, grabbed my gun, found the buck in my cross hairs, took the safety off, and fired. The deer
immediately dropped.
I followed my dad through the tall grass in the field to reach my deer. Excitement entered my body as
I thought about how big the deer was that I had just shot. The deer would have had to have been at
least an eight pointer, maybe even bigger, I thought. The distance between me and my deer began to
shrink. I could not wait to see how big my deer actually was. As I approached the deer, my heart sank
a little. My deer was an eight pointer but had a body that resembled a large sized dog.
The eight points on my deer did not proportionally match its small body. Sure, I was happy to have
shot a buck with big antlers, but I was disappointed to have shot such a young buck with little meat. It
was safe to say that my deer was significantly smaller than I expected it to be. I wondered whether any
restrictions could have been implemented to prevent me from shooting such a young deer.
Antler point restrictions (APRs) have been put in place by many states, including Pennsylvania,
Missouri, and New York, to prevent hunters from harvesting young bucks between the ages of 1.5 to
2.5 years. Some states require for a certain number of points to

Example Of Heroism In Beowulf
Question four
Beowulf is determined as a hero in my eyes, throughout the brave and heroic attributes that he had
undertaken within this poem. When defining a hero in our first week of class, we had come up with
the idea that a hero is someone who is: selfless, has strength, sacrifices everything that they have for
the greater good and shows confidence. Beowulf has shown all of these attributes beginning with
being selfless. Beowulf came to the Danes because he knew that he needed to not only keep his
kingdom safe, but surrounding kingdoms. Beowulf s heroism was defined on these next couple of
lines. On line 193, There was no one else like him alive. In his day, he was the mightiest man on earth,
high born and powerful. He ordered a boat that would ply the waves. He announced his plan (Heaney,
15, 193 196). Beowulf knew the dangers that fighting this demon could bring, but he sacrificed
everything he had. If Beowulf would have lost the battle, his Kingdom (Geats) would have been left
with nothing and Hrothgars kingdom would still be under attack. Beowulf also shows his strength
throughout the poem. When Beowulf arrives at the Danes, he shows no fear. Beowulf speaks with
Hrothgar to learn what is true about his threat. Beowulf speaks giving the Danes much hope, line 294
whatever it is, this danger abroad in the dark nights, I come to proffer my wholehearted help and
counsel (Heaney, 21, 294 298). Beowulf is a hero and a leader, even if we look at him within modern
times. Beowulf shows cause and reason to why he is at the Danes, he creates leadership upon his men
and he has shown devotion towards this cause of wanting to defeat Grendal the demon in the poem.
Every move Beowulf takes in this poem is what I believe we would want in the modern times of war.
We want a leader that will be able to take charge and follow through with the actions they speak upon.
In modern time, we also want a leader that protects our land and has their best opinion out for their
Country. We want a leader like Beowulf. There is times that as a reader one could think that he is only
completing these heroic attributes to uphold his overall reputation of himself, but isn t that everyone s
main goal when completing a monumental task?

Pygmalion And George Bernard Shaw s Views Of Language And...
George Bernard Shaw and John Edwards seem to share some quite similar beliefs regarding language
and identity. More specifically, how language alters one s identity. Edwards uses discussions involving
class, gender, and dialect; while Shaw uses his character, Eliza Doolittle to discuss these connections
between language and identity. Both authors debunk the stereotypical perception about language and
groups, just in two separate ways. Edwards explains it over several chapters of his text Language and
Identity , whereas Shaw demonstrates it through one person. One s class would be one the greatest
stereotypical perceptions pertaining to language and groups. In Shaw s Pygmalion, the storyline starts
with a horrible storm. This storm forces classes of all types to crowd together out to seek shelter.
Ideally, the higher class would not be caught associating with the lower class. However, a mother sees
Eliza talking with her son, Freddy, and immediately goes to investigate. As a mother of that time, it is
believed that Freddy should not associate himself with someone like Eliza. Eliza Doolitttle is roughly
eighteen years of age, speaks what is called gutter language , and she sells flowers illegally.
Appearance and actions ...reveal speakers memberships in particular speech communities, social
classes, ethnic and national groups (Edwards, 21). Due to her obvious state of being lower class, a
stereotype is immediately placed on her.

The Yellow Wall Essay
The Yellow Wall was published in 1892 by Charlotte Perkins Stetson. The story was written as a semi
autobiographical short story about an unnamed narrator that describes the treatment of women during
this time frame. It takes place in a county rental home where her husband has taken her for some
treatment from an illness that she supposedly has. Through ethos, pathos, and logos I will review the
story and show the reader that in fact the unnamed narrator was not mentally ill when she arrived at
the county home but did in fact become mentally ill through the treatment that was delivered. The
story starts with our no name narrator and her husband coming to a county home that he has rented for
three months to provide her with relaxation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It appears that her thought process is intake and she well articulates herself. It is seldom that mere

progresses the narrators sentence structure becomes erratic and short wither thoughts running rapidly
as evidenced not only in what she says, by how she says it, I quite enjoy the room, now it is bare
again. How those children did tear about here! This bedstead is fairly gnawed! But I must get to work
(Stetson 655).By using the sentence s and sentence structure the reader can validate that the narrators
mental wellbeing is deteriorating. We are told that her husband was a physician and was charged with
her care. The simple title of physician automatically conveys a sense of trust and knowledge that
others do not have. A higher authority if you will, If a physician of high standing, and one s own

Analysis Of Dennett s Qualia
memory has changed when comparing the two. Since qualia cannot be used to verify claims about
qualia, they are content less and incoherent or so Dennett s tale goes.
IV. Dennett contra Qualia Dennett is a man upset. A man upset about qualia he seems appalled that
something could exist which cannot be tested or used in some way to verify something. In fact,
Dennett seems so upset about qualia he created his own idea of it, and argued against that instead of a
more charitably (or correctly) understood definition. How, then, to prove the qualia Dennett uses is a
strawman? Let s start by discussing his two examples first, with pump 5/6 on neurosurgery. Recall that
Dennett believes the neurosurgeon showed that our qualia are less than private and immediately
apprehensible. The neurosurgeon knew our qualia better we could not tell what was changed between
our memory of past qualia and our current qualia. Dennett thinks pump 5/6 does particularly well in
undermining the apprehensibility of qualia after all, the qualia itself seems useless is telling us just
what has happened during the surgery. Except, qualia never could. The neurosurgeon, if he or she
changed our memory, would still change our qualia our qualia of the memory. Dennett didn t seem to
understand the scope of qualia here or that we produce it automatically from intending our
consciousness toward anything at all, including memory. We have qualia of remembering, qualia of
past states, real qualia

Essay On Night Of The Night
The eerie, soft but low wail of the dark figures around me echoed in the swirling wind as I dug my
claws into the frozen soil, staring longingly at the distant wooden house, my sharp, pale yellow eyes
barely able to see it through the thick sheet of descending snow. There I waited, alongside my allies,
watching every move from afar. The snowflakes came down quickly, speckling my light gray fur and
feeling as if a million tiny needles were piercing my bare nose. It had been hours since I started

illness brought us here. That scent meant weakness, therefore food. The human that seems to stay

act as if we are going to break down the door. Then, one of us tries to get through that small opening
beside the door, but be careful. It has an invisible wall. I nodded, immediately turning to the house
again. I finally spoke, Tinde, you get through the small opening first. Me? The light brown wolf

the door, beginning to take a small jog at it as we came closer. Tinde suddenly burst into a sprint,
barreling herself into the door first. As soon as we all got to the door, we began slamming our sides
onto the door, rattling the wood vigorously. The screams sounded up again from inside. As we kept

Night Lights By Peter Berg And Executively Produced By...
I find it essential to my being to embody the predictable role of an average college student and watch
various shows on Netflix during every free second of my day. Most shows available on Netflix are not
necessarily what is currently available on cable, but that doesn t mean the shows aren t worthy of
being watched on a continuous cycle for hours upon hours, until suddenly realizing that it s 12 am and
the paper due in two hours has yet to be submitted. One of the few shows I would consider worthy of
such procrastination is viewable via Netflix, and is called Friday Night Lights. Friday Night Lights
was developed by Peter Berg and executively produced by Brian Grazer, David Nevins, Sarah Aubrey,
and Jason Katims. The show ended after only five solid seasons in 2010, but continues to leave
everyone who watches hooked, and relating to the various tribulations within the plot line, including
football fanatics, academics, and housewives alike; all within a matter of episodes.
This American drama television series focuses on a small high school in a fictional town located in
rural Texas, called Dillon. This small town eats, sleeps, and breathes Dillon high school football. The
community in this town is tight knit and the show focuses on the football team: The Dillon Panthers, it
also zones in on the highly respected Coach: Eric Taylor. In each episode the only characters you re
guaranteed to see are Coach Taylor, along with his wife, Tami, and his daughters Grace and Julie. The

Strasberg Method Acting
Are you wondering what method acting is all about? Below are the basics of this acting method
developed by Lee Strasberg and practiced at the Actors Studio by actors like Marlon Brando and
Geraldine Page.
1) Relaxation
An important goal of this acting method is to get rid of the muscular tensions that keeps the actor s
instrument from being free. Lee Strasberg believed that actors who can relax their muscles reach a
higher state of concentration and responsiveness.
2) Sense Memory and Concentration
The actor develops concentration through sense memory exercises. As the name suggests, sense
memory is the use of the actor s senses to recall objects and experiences. A beginning method actor
will first explore a real object, like a cup of coffee, through all five senses, then put the object down
and try to recall the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exploring a place with all five senses.
Exploring a personal object with sentimental value.
Re creating the experience of being in private ( the private moment exercise , a great one to deal with
stagefright).
Eventually, an advanced actor will combine several sense memory exercises at once. Not only do
sense memory exercises help method actors believe in the given circumstances of the scene they re
working on, but they give them great focus and concentration.
3) Emotional Memory
Method actors learn to use sense memory to recall emotional experiences from their past. Instead of
trying to remember or force an emotion, the actor tries to re create with his senses the circumstances
surrounding the experience. For example, he would use sense memory to re create where he was at the
time, what he smelled, the sounds he heard, etc. With practice, an accomplished method actor can
trigger the right emotion for his character within seconds by simply recalling a single smell or sound.

The Australian Government s Youth Employment Package
The specific age for youth varies with many organisations using different age brackets however, it can
be described as the years of adolescent growth. The United Nations Educational Scientific and
Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) refers to youth as people aged 15 24 and this age bracket is one of
the most commonly used. Youth account for almost 20% of Australian s total population and this
equates to over 4.2 million people. In order for young individuals to achieve wellbeing their needs
must be satisfied. These needs consist of an adequate standard of living, health, education,
employment, sense of identity and safety and security. There are a variety of services that are targeted

A part of this is the Youth Employment Package, similar to the 2015 Youth Employment Strategy, it
aims to give youth the employability skills that employers want, opportunities for work experience
and the support to move from welfare support to employment. $840.3 million was allocated to the
Youth Employment Package and this is a $510 million increase from 2015. The increase of money
allocated to address the area of youth unemployment displays that the government recognizes the
extent of the issue and that more services will assist in addressing the issue. The Encouraging
Entrepreneurship and Self Employment Initiative is an outcome of the Youth Employment Package.
The initiative aims to assist young people create their own job by starting a small business. One
service that is provided is the Exploring Being My Own Boss workshop. The two week workshop
gives up to 1000 young people a taste of what is involved in self employment and entrepreneurship.
The strategies that the Australian Government have put forward to assist youth in gaining employment
are not guaranteed to solve youth unemployment however, by collaborating with and encouraging
youth they are much more likely to seek employment therefore improve youth unemployment. These
strategies should be viewed as a hand up rather than a hand out . By providing youth with employment

Bible Myths
The rich heritage of the Bible is passed down through the generations of Christians in the New
Testament as it was the Israelites in the Old Testament. These teachings are looked upon by outsiders
as simple biblical stories of old and not necessarily real life history. This leaves many with a mindset
that the Bible teachings are myths more so than even possible truths. Opening the generations of today
and yesterday up to the possibility that there are other gods that one can believe in and be just as
successful in achieving access into heaven, the afterworld of life on earth, or the favor of God and not
his wrath. However, the profits of the Old Testament teach against these very thoughts and actions of
the world. In particularly, looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theories Of Juvenile Delinquency
The most frequently asked question of criminologists is, what causes delinquency? There are many
explanations and theories of delinquency, especially in specific regards juvenile delinquency. For the
simplicity and length, this paper will be focusing on the strain theory, social learning theory, control
theory, labeling theory, and life course theory. First the theories will be explained and defined. After
the theories have been defined, a comparison of the five will be made. Next, some contrasts of the
theories. Finally, to wrap the paper together, an analysis of which theory is the most applicable to
juvenile delinquency, specifically. The first modern version of strain theory is Robert K. Merton
(1938) which involves the inability of individuals to achieve culturally prescribed success goals, or
goal blockage . In addition to this goal blockage Merton defines two types of strain; the failure to
achieve these goals and the loss of positive stimuli and/or a presence of negative stimuli. Focusing on
the goals that are culturally prescribed for success, specifically for juveniles, these could include
money, status or respect, autonomy from adults, and thrills or excitement. Autonomy from adults is a
key goal for juveniles because as a teenager, the juvenile strives to be independent and strives to be
treated as an adult. Agnew, another prominent theorist of strain theory, lists eight types of negative
treatment or presence of negative stimuli: parental rejection, parental supervision and discipline that is
very strict/erratic/excessive given the infraction and/or harsh, child abuse and neglect, negative school
experiences, abusive peer relations, criminal victimization, homelessness, and experiences with
prejudice and discrimination based on ascribed characteristics like gender and race/ethnicity. The
frustration that results from this goal blockage increased the likelihood of crime; individuals may try
to obtain money through acts such as theft and drug selling, may strike out at others in their anger or
may focus on alternative goals that are conducive to crime (e.g., masculinity goals emphasizing
toughness) (Agnew 2012).
Social learning theory is not a single theory but rather a family of theories

Critical Analysis Of Nelson Mandel Long Walk To Freedom
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom
Nelson Mandela, a leader within the South African society but furthermore throughout the whole
world, has spent his whole life pursuing fairness and freedom for all. The composed philosophical
quote presented within this assignment being, Our single most important challenge is to establish a
social order in which the freedom of the individual will truly mean the freedom of the individual.
appears to show a very calm and collected thought process. This quotation has an extreme importance
in the pursuit of true freedom, demanding not only rights, but true freedom to where the people can
experience life in an equal social order. Mandela s calmness throughout the people s and his struggle
for freedom in South Africa attributed towards the success eventually reached by Mandela, by not
only giving the depiction of a calm knowledgeable leader, but also giving the opportunity to truly
reflect on political unrest and make a decision that will in the end benefit everyone within the
situation, weather they are classified as black or white. Mandela always had the ability to maintain a
philosophical and calm mind set throughout the film. This gave him the ability, even when alone in
certain situations on certain topics, to push himself towards his true goal, achieving true freedom for
the colored people of South Africa. This idea can be portrayed through a specific scene in the movie,
in this particular scene Mandela and his colleagues are brought to

Race, Urban Poverty, and Public Policy
The problems of race and urban poverty remain pressing challenges which the United States has yet to
address. Changes in the global economy, technology, and race relations during the last 30 years have
necessitated new and innovative analyses and policy responses. A common thread which weaves
throughout many of the studies reviewed here is the dynamics of migration. In When Work
Disappears, immigrants provide comparative data with which to highlight the problems of ghetto
poverty affecting blacks. In No Shame in My Game, Puerto Rican and Dominican immigrants are part
of the changing demographics in Harlem. In Canarsie, the possible migration of blacks into a

educational system would be further buttressed by quality child care provisions which would also
included pre first grade/kindergarten nursery schools modeled after the French école maternelle.
Wilson s other policy recommendations include suburb city economic partnerships, many of which
coincide with Jargowsky s recommendations in Poverty and Place, as well as policies revolving
around the earned income tax credit (EITC) and public jobs of last resort, which are part of policy
recommendations shared by David Ellwood and Herbert Gans (see below).
In No Shame in My Game, anthropologist Katherine Newman attempts to draw greater attention to the
plight of the working poor rather than the jobless poor. She and her research team explore the lives of
Harlem s working poor, primarily focusing on the fast food industry or burger flippers as the subject
for her largely ethnographic study. One of the important insights articulated in her study is the
extended familial structures/networks that rely on wage and welfare income as a means of survival, in
addition to providing resources such as child care: networks she identifies in African American,
Dominican, and Puerto Rican working poor families in Harlem. Thus, welfare reform restructuring
will not only impact those families who rely solely on welfare for survival, but also on those working
poor families

Gay Families are Still Families Essay
While a popular catchphrase states that family is a circle of friends that love you , from a legal
standpoint, the word family requires definition. Traditionally, a family has been defined as a married
heterosexual couple and their children, but as more and more states are legalizing same sex marriage,
new questions arise. Regardless of one s position about whether gay marriage should be legal, it is
clear that the definition of family is changing and the legal system will need to address these changes.
Whether it is determining who should be a custodial parent, clarifying adoption processes, or
implementing legal protections in cases of divorce, family law must grow and change along with the
definition of family. Through my research, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This system was designed to capitalize on randomization and mobility while providing a modular
build design. The initial design and goal of the project was to develop a product that would increase
the effectiveness and the efficiency of current market technology to reduce damage to crops by
reducing habituation. Secondly, the objective of this project was to develop the prototype and
protocols into a useful system that can be scaled up for application at the end users level of skill.
Considering the target audience of farmers, who may not have a high level of understanding of
electrical and computer components, each component was designed to be easily set up and operated.
The ability of an average person to set up and configure the GPS system and the potential object
recognitions navigation system, which would make the robot fully and accurately autonomous, may be
a barrier. The use of in depth tutorials and visual aids may help some. However this may provide an
opportunity for developing a niche job market for qualified service representatives and field techs.

Zapata Class Divide
The Mexican muralist movement produced artwork on walls that defined the social and political
atmosphere of Mexico. Diego Rivera was an innovator in the muralist movement that helped depict
the Mexican Revolution for its violence and demand for equality among the lower class (Gonzales 240
45). Rivera s painting, Agrarian Leader Zapata, exemplifies the hardships of the revolution through a
group of rebel, lower class farmers led by Emiliano Zapata who is standing over a dead, elite soldier.
Agrarian Leader Zapata, utilizes the contrast of the soldiers, the focus on Zapata, and symbolism to
convey the idea that the class divide was the root of violence and the outbreak of the Mexican
Revolution. Rivera uses aesthetic disparities the farmers and the soldier to illustrate the class divide
present in Mexico. Rivera exhibits class divide, notably through the clothing and weaponry of the
figures. Rivera uses clothing to convey the motivations of the farmers. The farmers wear white while
the soldier wears a traditional dark, military uniform. The contrast of the white clothing of the farmers

between the elite and the poor. This emphasizes that equality in Mexico will be violent if not given
and implies that the sharing of material items and social status will aid in reaching an egalitarian
society. The horse in the painting is important to the class divide in the Mexican Revolution because it

  • 2. Anterior Pituitary Gland The Anterior Pituitary Gland is part of the Endocrine System and secretes six hormones. The Follicle Stimulation Hormone is a hormone secrete by the Anterior Pituitary gland that promotes the formation of ova and sperm. It is a peptide that is produce and stimulates the spermatozoa and regulates the Graafian follicle in females. Follicle Stimulation Hormone is a gonadotropin, a glycoprotein polypeptide hormone. A gonadotropin cell is produced in the anterior pituitary gland that then regulates sexual development and reproduction function. The hormone is synthesized and also regulates pubertal maturation. The production and release of this hormone is regulated by levels of a number of circulating hormones in the ovaries and testes. This system is called a hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis. The hypothalamus releases the hormone that binds with receptors in the anterior pituitary that stimulates and synthesis the release. The release is carried in the bloodstream where it binds with receptors in the testes and ovaries. This system controls the functions of the testes and ovaries. ... This is the negative feedback so that testosterone remains steady. In women when hormone levels decline this is also sensed by nerves in the hypothalamus, the cells are produced and sent to the pituitary gland to release into bloodstream. The hypothalamus can also tell when there is too much in woman and signals the pituitary to stop releasing a woman the FSH stimulates the release of an egg from a mature follicle for ovulation. • 3. Importance Of Abolition Of Child Labour The effective abolition of child labour is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Today, we have a better grasp of the size and the shape of the problem. More than 200 million child labourers worldwide, some 180 million are now suspected to be toiling in the worst forms of child labour those activities that the global community has unanimously agreed are inexcusable under any circumstances and must be eliminated without de lay. The persistence on such a scale of this violation of children s basic human rights casts a shadow over us all. The past decade has seen an unprecedented convergence of thought and action around this cause, in recognition of the fact that the abolition of child labour is an issue at the heart of social and economic development and not at its margins. The ILO s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) has, over its ten years of existence, become the largest single technical cooperation programme of the Organization. The ILO will mark the first World Day against Child Labour on 12 June 2002. The physiological damage from exposure to different substances and work processes is relatively well known for adult workers,11 but more needs to be learned about the short and long term effects of different types of work on girls and boys of various ages and health status.12 Such understanding is needed in order to decide what types of work to prohibit for children under the age of 18 and to plan for appropriate ... • 4. The Process of Gene Expression The process of gene expression is used by all known life known as eukaryotes which include multicellular organisms, prokaryotes like bacteria and Achaea, and viruses which generates the macromolecular machinery for life. Gene expression is what turns on the genes and makes a product. The products made could be an enzyme, a protein, or a control molecule. These products are often proteins, but in non protein coding genes such as mRNA genes or tRNA genes, the product is a functional RNA. The order of gene expression is transcription, RNA processing, then translation. The control of transcription: this is the first step of gene expression when a particular segment of DNA is copied into RNA by the enzyme RNA polymerase and is then a joined mechanism. During transcription, a DNA sequence is read by an RNA polymerase, which produces a corresponding, antiparallel RNA strand called a primary transcript. The order that transcription goes in would start with the initiate transcription from a gene by binding the RNA polymerase to the promoter DNA. A promoter is a region of DNA that initiates transcription of a particular gene. The RNA polymerase then splits the double helix DNA molecule into two nucleotides. When doing this the breaking down of the hydrogen bonds between DNA nucleotides occurs. The RNA and DNA helix s break apart and the new RNA strand is complete. If the cell has a nucleus, it will then be processed again which will then exits to the cytoplasm. During this process a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are several historical theories supported by the historical evidence that is available. Deforestation + drought claims that the existing drought condition was worsened by the deforestation to the point where cities became uninhabitable within 100 years. • 6. Technology s Impact On Technology And The Impact Of... The Impact of Technology Computers, laptops, cellphones, and eventually artificial intelligence? Technology has sure been advancing rapidly, and will continue to advance for years to come. Think about all of the tasks that once required a trip to the library that can now easily be done with a computer. Google s search engine, for instance, significantly simplifies research you simply enter what you want, and the engine spews out the relevant information. But the harmful effects are plentiful as well. Nicholas Carr addresses popular concerns in Is Google Making Us Stupid, arguing that technology is molding the human brain into an efficiency prioritizing machine, one less flexible, less artistic than the human mind. Although technology inspires artists and informs authors, it is mostly making people stupid, for it encourages a skimming mentality and cultivates impatience. Before revealing technology s harmful effects, it is important to address its benefits. Proponents of technology argue of its importance in artistic inspiration. For instance, websites like Soundcloud, Youtube, and deviantArt allow users to share accomplishments, and many young artists are guided by the social media of successful artists. While it is true that the internet inspires artists, it is equally true that it limits them creatively. Commercialism creeps throughout the internet community music, art, and film must all be popular enough to make a profit. Many young minds are robbed of their individual ... • 9. Difference Between Inorganic Growth And Organic Growth Organic growth is where a company grows by increasing its turnover/sales revenues. (It can also be defined as growth of a company by building on its existing knowledge or resources). With an increased revenue the company can easily make profits, it then ploughs back the profits into the business enabling it to grow. To increase turnover/sales revenue the company can do so through increasing its customers (find new customers to add to existing ones) or developing new products. For instance, Sunlight and Berendsen growth is attributed more to organic growth whereby they have been able to increase their customers in existing locations and new EU operational areas. Inorganic growth is growth generated through the company joining with other companies. Organic growth can be by mergers or takeovers. A merger is where two companies through an agreement join. They agree on how to conduct their operations, resource sharing among other aspects of their business. A takeover is whereby a company buys/owns 51% or more of the shares of another company (The Times 100, n.d). This gives it a right to majority voting power, it controls the management and financial decisions of the business. Inorganic growth can take place via horizontal integration or vertical integration. Under horizontal integration two companies or firms at the same stage of production or operating in the same line of business join as was in the Sunlight and Berendsen which both had specialty in providing textile services ... • 11. Chris Stapleton s Music Analysis Chris Stapleton released his debut album, Traveller, in the Spring of 2015. This album is characterized by what I would describe as a traditional country feel, but with a slightly more modern sound, or to be more technical, a country rock meets blues album. This record, and Chris Stapleton himself, went relatively unnoticed by the general public after initial release. It was not until the 2015 CMA awards when Stapleton performed Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake that his album truly took off (Welch). Since then, songs from Traveller can frequently be heard on national country radio stations, as well as on tour, a show I will be attending in May. The reason I chose to review Traveller is because Tennessee Whiskey sucker punched me in the best way possible. By this I mean that before I heard the song, I had been ignoring most new country music and artists because I had not been connecting with the music like I did in previous years. For the past seven years of my life I have been listening to almost exclusively rock and metal music, music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the time, Stapleton is singing with a strong, deep voice and at a slower pace, however he displays his range full force on tracks such as Might As Well Get Stoned and Sometimes I Cry. On Might As Well Get Stoned, Stapleton goes high in a broken manner, which would typically seem like a mistake, however the brokenness of the notes only adds to Stapleton s emotional delivery of the song. Sometimes I Cry is one of the most vocally profound country songs I have ever found. The first time I listened to it, I genuinely got chills as the whole song is such an experience. The vocals of this song are similar to Jackie Wilson s song Please Tell Me Why, as both are weeper style, though Stapleton s is a more subdued version of it. This song best exemplifies his range on Traveller as it is easy to tell that he puts everything into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Deer Hunting Descriptive Essay The third Saturday of November was one filled with conflicting emotions: excitement, fear, optimism, and nervousness. The screeching sound of the alarm at 4:00 a.m. initiated a sense of panic and thrill throughout me; it was the opening day of the gun deer hunting season. Within minutes, I was dressed from head to toe in bright, blaze orange that could be recognized from miles away. I reluctantly, yet willingly, climbed into the truck to head to the hunting land in Adams County, Wisconsin. My stomach felt like it was tied into knots. My mind was again flooded with conflicting emotions. I began to wonder: will I get a deer? Will I not get a deer? Will I get a buck? Instinctively, I threw down the binoculars, grabbed my gun, found the buck in my cross hairs, took the safety off, and fired. The deer immediately dropped. I followed my dad through the tall grass in the field to reach my deer. Excitement entered my body as I thought about how big the deer was that I had just shot. The deer would have had to have been at least an eight pointer, maybe even bigger, I thought. The distance between me and my deer began to shrink. I could not wait to see how big my deer actually was. As I approached the deer, my heart sank a little. My deer was an eight pointer but had a body that resembled a large sized dog. The eight points on my deer did not proportionally match its small body. Sure, I was happy to have shot a buck with big antlers, but I was disappointed to have shot such a young buck with little meat. It was safe to say that my deer was significantly smaller than I expected it to be. I wondered whether any restrictions could have been implemented to prevent me from shooting such a young deer. Antler point restrictions (APRs) have been put in place by many states, including Pennsylvania, Missouri, and New York, to prevent hunters from harvesting young bucks between the ages of 1.5 to 2.5 years. • 16. Example Of Heroism In Beowulf Question four Beowulf is determined as a hero in my eyes, throughout the brave and heroic attributes that he had undertaken within this poem. When defining a hero in our first week of class, we had come up with the idea that a hero is someone who is: selfless, has strength, sacrifices everything that they have for the greater good and shows confidence. Beowulf has shown all of these attributes beginning with being selfless. Beowulf came to the Danes because he knew that he needed to not only keep his kingdom safe, but surrounding kingdoms. Beowulf s heroism was defined on these next couple of lines. On line 193, There was no one else like him alive. In his day, he was the mightiest man on earth, high born and powerful. He ordered a boat that would ply the waves. He announced his plan (Heaney, 15, 193 196). Beowulf knew the dangers that fighting this demon could bring, but he sacrificed everything he had. If Beowulf would have lost the battle, his Kingdom (Geats) would have been left with nothing and Hrothgars kingdom would still be under attack. Beowulf also shows his strength throughout the poem. When Beowulf arrives at the Danes, he shows no fear. Beowulf speaks with Hrothgar to learn what is true about his threat. Beowulf speaks giving the Danes much hope, line 294 whatever it is, this danger abroad in the dark nights, I come to proffer my wholehearted help and counsel (Heaney, 21, 294 298). Beowulf is a hero and a leader, even if we look at him within modern times. Beowulf shows cause and reason to why he is at the Danes, he creates leadership upon his men and he has shown devotion towards this cause of wanting to defeat Grendal the demon in the poem. Every move Beowulf takes in this poem is what I believe we would want in the modern times of war. We want a leader that will be able to take charge and follow through with the actions they speak upon. In modern time, we also want a leader that protects our land and has their best opinion out for their Country. We want a leader like Beowulf. There is times that as a reader one could think that he is only completing these heroic attributes to uphold his overall reputation of himself, but isn t that everyone s main goal when completing a monumental task? ... • 17. Pygmalion And George Bernard Shaw s Views Of Language And... George Bernard Shaw and John Edwards seem to share some quite similar beliefs regarding language and identity. More specifically, how language alters one s identity. Edwards uses discussions involving class, gender, and dialect; while Shaw uses his character, Eliza Doolittle to discuss these connections between language and identity. Both authors debunk the stereotypical perception about language and groups, just in two separate ways. Edwards explains it over several chapters of his text Language and Identity , whereas Shaw demonstrates it through one person. One s class would be one the greatest stereotypical perceptions pertaining to language and groups. In Shaw s Pygmalion, the storyline starts with a horrible storm. This storm forces classes of all types to crowd together out to seek shelter. Ideally, the higher class would not be caught associating with the lower class. However, a mother sees Eliza talking with her son, Freddy, and immediately goes to investigate. As a mother of that time, it is believed that Freddy should not associate himself with someone like Eliza. The story was written as a semi autobiographical short story about an unnamed narrator that describes the treatment of women during this time frame. Through ethos, pathos, and logos I will review the story and show the reader that in fact the unnamed narrator was not mentally ill when she arrived at the county home but did in fact become mentally ill through the treatment that was delivered. • 19. Analysis Of Dennett s Qualia memory has changed when comparing the two. Since qualia cannot be used to verify claims about qualia, they are content less and incoherent or so Dennett s tale goes. IV. Dennett contra Qualia Dennett is a man upset. A man upset about qualia he seems appalled that something could exist which cannot be tested or used in some way to verify something. In fact, Dennett seems so upset about qualia he created his own idea of it, and argued against that instead of a more charitably (or correctly) understood definition. How, then, to prove the qualia Dennett uses is a strawman? Let s start by discussing his two examples first, with pump 5/6 on neurosurgery. Recall that Dennett believes the neurosurgeon showed that our qualia are less than private and immediately apprehensible. The neurosurgeon knew our qualia better we could not tell what was changed between our memory of past qualia and our current qualia. Dennett thinks pump 5/6 does particularly well in undermining the apprehensibility of qualia after all, the qualia itself seems useless is telling us just what has happened during the surgery. Except, qualia never could. The neurosurgeon, if he or she changed our memory, would still change our qualia our qualia of the memory. Dennett didn t seem to understand the scope of qualia here or that we produce it automatically from intending our consciousness toward anything at all, including memory. • 27. Theories Of Juvenile Delinquency The most frequently asked question of criminologists is, what causes delinquency? There are many explanations and theories of delinquency, especially in specific regards juvenile delinquency. For the simplicity and length, this paper will be focusing on the strain theory, social learning theory, control theory, labeling theory, and life course theory. First the theories will be explained and defined. After the theories have been defined, a comparison of the five will be made. Next, some contrasts of the theories. Finally, to wrap the paper together, an analysis of which theory is the most applicable to juvenile delinquency, specifically. The first modern version of strain theory is Robert K. Merton (1938) which involves the inability of individuals to achieve culturally prescribed success goals, or goal blockage . In addition to this goal blockage Merton defines two types of strain; the failure to achieve these goals and the loss of positive stimuli and/or a presence of negative stimuli. Focusing on the goals that are culturally prescribed for success, specifically for juveniles, these could include money, status or respect, autonomy from adults, and thrills or excitement. Autonomy from adults is a key goal for juveniles because as a teenager, the juvenile strives to be independent and strives to be treated as an adult. Agnew, another prominent theorist of strain theory, lists eight types of negative treatment or presence of negative stimuli: parental rejection, parental supervision and discipline that is very strict/erratic/excessive given the infraction and/or harsh, child abuse and neglect, negative school experiences, abusive peer relations, criminal victimization, homelessness, and experiences with prejudice and discrimination based on ascribed characteristics like gender and race/ethnicity. The frustration that results from this goal blockage increased the likelihood of crime; individuals may try to obtain money through acts such as theft and drug selling, may strike out at others in their anger or may focus on alternative goals that are conducive to crime (e.g., masculinity goals emphasizing toughness) (Agnew 2012). Wilson s other policy recommendations include suburb city economic partnerships, many of which coincide with Jargowsky s recommendations in Poverty and Place, as well as policies revolving around the earned income tax credit (EITC) and public jobs of last resort, which are part of policy recommendations shared by David Ellwood and Herbert Gans (see below). In No Shame in My Game, anthropologist Katherine Newman attempts to draw greater attention to the plight of the working poor rather than the jobless poor. She and her research team explore the lives of Harlem s working poor, primarily focusing on the fast food industry or burger flippers as the subject for her largely ethnographic study. One of the important insights articulated in her study is the extended familial structures/networks that rely on wage and welfare income as a means of survival, in addition to providing resources such as child care: networks she identifies in African American, Dominican, and Puerto Rican working poor families in Harlem. Thus, welfare reform restructuring will not only impact those families who rely solely on welfare for survival, but also on those working poor families ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Gay Families are Still Families Essay While a popular catchphrase states that family is a circle of friends that love you , from a legal standpoint, the word family requires definition. Traditionally, a family has been defined as a married heterosexual couple and their children, but as more and more states are legalizing same sex marriage, new questions arise. Regardless of one s position about whether gay marriage should be legal, it is clear that the definition of family is changing and the legal system will need to address these changes. Whether it is determining who should be a custodial parent, clarifying adoption processes, or implementing legal protections in cases of divorce, family law must grow and change along with the definition of family. Through my research, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article The Peculiar Mechanics of Gay Divorce is a wealth of anecdotes and pull quotes from field authorities. Because these articles are for mass consumption magazines, their tone is generally neutral, and journalistic practice has established them as credible sources. One specific resource upon which I have been heavily reliant in developing my thesis has been The Future Impact of Same Sex Marriage: More Questions Than Answers. This paper, written by a Professor of Law at Georgetown University, delves into the historical background of marriage in America, provides statistics on same sex couples, and introduces questions on how legalization of gay marriage will impact American law (Hunter). Its sources provide a wealth of additional information, to be explored further during the research process. I have found several portals to information regarding same sex marriage, and will be utilizing these as a method to uncover more anecdotal and statistical information that relates to my topic. These sources will allow my point/counterpoint to have a much broader range than if I were to rely on direct field research, as they will allow me to cover a diverse spectrum of cases and demographics. The initial design and goal of the project was to develop a product that would increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of current market technology to reduce damage to crops by reducing habituation. Secondly, the objective of this project was to develop the prototype and protocols into a useful system that can be scaled up for application at the end users level of skill. Considering the target audience of farmers, who may not have a high level of understanding of electrical and computer components, each component was designed to be easily set up and operated. The ability of an average person to set up and configure the GPS system and the potential object recognitions navigation system, which would make the robot fully and accurately autonomous, may be a barrier. The use of in depth tutorials and visual aids may help some. However this may provide an opportunity for developing a niche job market for qualified service representatives and field techs. • 34. Zapata Class Divide The Mexican muralist movement produced artwork on walls that defined the social and political atmosphere of Mexico. Diego Rivera was an innovator in the muralist movement that helped depict the Mexican Revolution for its violence and demand for equality among the lower class (Gonzales 240 45). Rivera s painting, Agrarian Leader Zapata, exemplifies the hardships of the revolution through a group of rebel, lower class farmers led by Emiliano Zapata who is standing over a dead, elite soldier. Agrarian Leader Zapata, utilizes the contrast of the soldiers, the focus on Zapata, and symbolism to convey the idea that the class divide was the root of violence and the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. Rivera uses aesthetic disparities the farmers and the soldier to illustrate the class divide present in Mexico. Rivera exhibits class divide, notably through the clothing and weaponry of the figures. Rivera uses clothing to convey the motivations of the farmers. The farmers wear white while the soldier wears a traditional dark, military uniform. This then questions the integrity of the farmers because is killing and stealing justifiable if it is the name of equality? This emphasizes that equality in Mexico will be violent if not given and implies that the sharing of material items and social status will aid in reaching an egalitarian society. The horse in the painting is important to the class divide in the Mexican Revolution because it reveals the violence and the societal gap between the upper and lower ... Rene Descarte s Dualism In The Matrix Foremost, apart from all the action, special effects and hidden messages, the movie The Matrix poses the question, What is reality? as the main character Neo is revealed the answer and scape s the trap of an artificial reality. Nerveless, the reality of The Matrix correlates to the explanation of reality by the great philosopher Rene Descartes, whose famous epistemology, leads him to doubt everything is nonexistent, in order to find an indubitable fact. Additionally, in the matrix, in order to harness the biochemical electricity that the human bodies produces for fuel, the machines must deceive the human mind by uploading it, in to a program where it can use a virtual body, therefore leading to the conclusion that the physical body cannot survive without the mind. Although, the mind can survive without a physical body, without a body, the mind has no purpose. Nerveless, this idea, explained further through the matrix when Neo is revealed that if he dies in the matrix, he dies in real life, Morpheus explains this by stating, The body cannot live without the mind (The matrix 55:24 55:34) Cogito Ergo Sum Rene Descartes (Palmer, 6th edition, pg. 62).
