blue/violet then proteins where present within the solution.
A cuvette was filled with distilled water and place within the colorimeter to calibrate it before the
solutions were placed in if there was a colour change. If a colour change was present (blue/violet
protein is present) the solutions was then transferred into separate cuvettes and placed in the
colorimeter. The colorimeter was set at 580nm and then the readings from it were recorded within a

On December 13, 1927, James Arlington Wright was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio. His mother left
school at fourteen to work in a laundry and his father worked for over fifty years at a glass factory.
Both of James s parents never attended school after the eighth grade. While in high school in 1943
James suffered a nervous breakdown and missed a year of school. When he graduated in 1946 he
decided a year later to joined the army and then he was stationed in Japan during the American
occupation. later on in his life He then attended Kenyon College on the G.I. Bill, and studied under
John Crowe Ransom. James witnessed a lot of human suffering which profoundly influenced his

Approximately 80 years ago, women were often objectified and not treated correctly. Today in society,
there are many new standards that we commonly try to live up to. We would like to have equality with
many things, rather it be race, gender, etc. But, early in the 1900s, many women were not treated
equally. Their Eyes Were Watching God, written by Zora Neale Hurston, is about a woman, named
Janie, growing up attempting to find true love. She wants a man who will treat her unlike most
women, for she doesn t want to feel like she is a person of ownership. Women were often seen as
owned property. Hurston shows us how women are often viewed as objects of ownership.
Every woman dreams of finding the right guy that will treat her amazing and equal; Many women will
