Michael Jordan s Five-Star Football Team
Michael Jordan attended Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. High School is where
Michael Jordan s journey to stardom began, but the beginning of Michael Jordan s High School career
got off to a rocky start. As a High School sophomore he was cut from the varsity basketball team, and
instead his 6 7 friend Leroy Smith made the team. Varsity head coach, Fred Lynch decided that the
varsity team needed Leroy Smith s size, and thought Michael at 5 10 was too short and needed to
develop his skills in order to be a reliable contributor to the varsity team. Michael had no choice but to
play on the junior varsity team, which greatly frustrated him, because he felt like he was good enough
to make the varsity team. It was embarrassing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He scored 35 points in his first varsity game and averaged a team leading 20 points per game. His
impressive and stellar play for the varsity team during his junior year led to him being invited to the
Howard Garfinkel s Five Star Basketball Camp. Where He dazzled college scouts while playing head
to head against the other top high school players in the country. The Five Star Basketball Camp was
also where North Carolina head coach Dean Smith first noticed the talented and skilled Michael
Jordan. He was so impressed with Michael s skills, that he decided to target him as a priority recruit
and signed him to be a future North Carolina Tarheel before Jordan s senior season began.
Michael Jordan had a spectacular senior season playing for the Laney High School varsity basketball
team. He led Laney to the No. 1 state ranking, while averaging a triple double ( 29.2 points, 11.6
rebounds, and 10.1 assists ). He wasn t able to lead his team to a state title, with his team losing to
their rival New Hanover in the conference championship game, 56 52. But because he had a great
senior season, he was rewarded with the opportunity to play in the 1981 McDonald s High School All

Wheelchair Stereotypes
Myth 1: Wheelchairs Summary: According to the article 6 Stereotypes of Disability from Disabled We
Stand, one of the misconceptions was, if you re in a wheelchair, that can mean either that you re deaf,
dumb and stupid, or that you re a goddess on wheels. People approach you when they usually wouldn
t approach anyone else. Furthermore, others are drawn to people in wheelchairs because they
automatically feel pity and interest in the difference in lifestyles. Rather than letting a wheelchair
define someone s character, personality, or life, perhaps getting to know the individual would be a
more accurate representation of who they are as a person. Example(s) Dispelling or Perpetuating: In

The fact that she was able to create easily accessible clothing for individuals with disabilities was
astounding and I was, frankly, blown away by her accomplishments. She was able to travel to New
York City to participate in fashion shows and had a little bit of difficulty when operating the ramps,
but as she said, she figured it out. She relied on an interpreter to explain to us what she was saying, but
as the interpreter said, she learned how to understand Delaina by repetition, as Delaina would make
certain shapes with her mouth when she would talk and the interpreter figured out how to understand
her over time. Delaina is the perfect example of an individual with a disability who does not need
help. She comes up with her own sketches, operates her own wheelchair, and can type into her
computer to let us know what she is thinking. Her brilliance was apparent when she talked about how
dedicated she was to her sketches and how she was honored to attend the University of Florida.
Instead of seeing Delaina as an individual who needs help opening the door, or crossing the street, I
saw her as a peer with much more amazing capabilities than myself. She put into perspective fact that
people who have disabilities are perfectly capable of managing their own lives and doing it

According to NAMI (), schizophrenia is a long term mental illness that interferes with a person s
ability to think clearly, make decisions, and relate to others, impairing a person from functioning to
their full potential when left untreated. For these persons affected, it is many times difficult to
distinguish what is real from what is not. Unfortunately, no single simple course of treatment exists.
Research has linked schizophrenia to a multitude of possible causes (NAMI).
As stated by NIHM, the prevalence of schizophrenia is about 1 in every 100 people in the general
population. Ten percent of the people who have first degree family members with the disorder, such as
a brother, sister, or parent, also have schizophrenia. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some people, schizophrenia appears suddenly and without warning (HELP GUIDE). This would be
considered an acute onset. For most though, the onset comes slowly with subtle warning signs and a
gradual decline in functioning long before the first severe episode. (HELP GUIDE). This on the other
hand is considered chronic onset.
A study was conducted to determine whether severe adverse events in childhood might contribute to
the specific symptoms of schizophrenia and not merely to increased risk for the psychosis
(CHILDHOOD STRESSORS). This study is believed to be the first of its kind. It took 134 patients
discharged from Norristown State Hospital in Pennsylvania between 1984 and 1990. According to
(CHILDHOOD STESSORS), there is a connections between active childhood abuse with positive
symptoms of schizophrenia and childhood neglect with negative symptoms. (THE AUTHOR) did
caution that more research needed to be conducted.
Another study was conducted to see how childhood and adolescent risk factors predict the age of onset
of psychosis in patients with and without a familial component (ENVIRNMT RISK FCTRs). They
took 100 patients with a 55 men and 45 women. (AUTHOR), results found that birth complications
and cannabis use are predictors for an earlier onset of schizophrenia when the person had non familial
schizophrenia. No environmental risk factors were found for an earlier onset in familial

Social Media Influence On Sports Research Paper
The evolution of sports media and the technology used to promote sports products over the past two
decades has changed the way the public views sport products. With the increased popularity of social
media anyone can have access to their favorite sport. The public is using more on line tools to receive
their information instead of the traditional ways two decades ago. This gives the audience a new
platform, which will increase viewers and perhaps product revenues. In today s society everything is
digital, and the equipment the athletes use and wear are more advance than ever. Each item that is
manufactured is designed with the player s safety and increased performance in mind. This was not a
concern two decades ago, it was more about developing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The positive advantages are that the majority of the public can watch any sporting event on smart
phones, computers, or tablets. The results of the games are easily found and advertisement can reach a
bigger audience. The negative side of media is the lack of privacy. Also the media can influence the
outcome and even have the rules changed. With podcasting to several million people, it can show the
violence and the darker side of sports. In return sports can influence the media just as well. The fast
pace action that takes place forces the media to keep up and evolve technology. As the sport grows in
popularity the audience expands which will increase the amount of viewers. This will drive social
media, blogs, and twitter followers. Now a days the public wants to have their information when they
want it. Sporting events will dictate how the media will cover the event. The one improvement in
sports media over the past twenty years is the development in social media. The instant information
that the public can receive is just a click away. Now a days it is a real time reporting for the fans. The
other development that has improved sports is the technology. Most stadiums are equipped with Wi Fi,
so the fans can stay in touch with other events going on. The score boards are bigger and have the
ability to be displayed in a higher resolution like 4K. Also the fan experience has change with ordering
food electronically form your seat. The biggest part with technology is keeping the fans safe. With the
ability to use a smart phone to report any incident will decrease safety violation. Both media and
technology has improved sports today, and with another twenty years it will just keep

The Charter Of Rights And Freedom
Many Canadians of the 21st century still often wonder, was the creation of the Charter of Rights
Freedoms a mistake? It is believed that the Charter s creation was a significant benefit as it guarantees
certain political rights to Canadian citizens and civil rights of everyone in Canada from the policies
and actions of all areas and levels of government. However, many believe the Charter makes Canada
more like the United States, especially by serving corporate rights and individual rights rather than
group rights and social rights. Also, there are several rights that should be included in the Charter,
such as a right to health care and a basic right to free education. With this, by guaranteeing certain
political rights and civil rights to every Canadian citizen, it is evident that the creation of the Charter
of Rights Freedoms was not a mistake, and was truly a benefit to all Canadian citizens for many
important reasons. One important reason is that Charter guarantees all Canadians their legal rights as it
promises rights of people in dealing with the justice system and law enforcement are protected. In
addition with the guarantee of Canadians legal rights, is their language rights which is to assure people
have the right to use either the English or French language in communications with Canada s federal
government and certain provincial governments. As well as guaranteeing all Canadian s equality rights
to promise equal treatment before and under the law. The

Double Indemnity Adaptation Essay

Dr. V. Hromulak
10 December 2015
The Adaption of Double Indemnity Although adaptions are not a new form of entertainment, recent
trends show that the many books that are forced to change to film tend to provoke criticism and
debate. This type of attitude was definitely prevccalent in the film Double Indemnity directed by Billy
Wilder. This was because it was adapted from the novella by James Cain which held the same title.
Substantial differences from the novella made the film a richer and better depicted story for the
audience. It is agreeable that the nature of the adaption was made so that it would be easily understood
by the audiences it was going to be viewed by. The novella Double Indemnity was first published in
1934 and was James Cain s second novel. The entire novella is told in first person point of view, by
the criminal Walter Huff in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film was similar to the movie in the point of view aspect because both were told by first person
criminal, Walter Neff. The film keeps the confessional criminal aspect of narration, but changes the
order of events by revealing that Walter is a murderer from the beginning. This makes the film
adaption depict a different view of the story from the very beginning rather than letting it unfold like
in the novella. This serves to angle audiences in a way that Wilder wanted as well as emphasizing the
despair at the center of the story. The characters in the film are basically unfolding their predetermined
destiny which is different from the novella. Walter Huff and Phyllis Nirdlinger, the main characters of
the book, become Walter Neff and Phyllis Dietrichson in the film. In the film, they do devise a scheme
to murder Phyllis s husband and cash out on the rewards of his life insurance policy. The actual dollar
amount varies, but there are far more important differences than that.

The Health Care Reform Act
The Health Care Reform Act was designed to benefit the citizens of the United States. Thanks to the
Affordable Care Act, 3.1 million more young adults have health insurance on their parent s plan, three
million seniors have received a 50 percent discount on their prescription drugs, and millions of
Americans now have access to no cost preventive services to help them stay healthy. Abusive
insurance practices are becoming a thing of the past. Additionally, the Affordable Care Act helps small
businesses with the cost of providing health insurance for their employees and helps doctors and other
health providers care for their patients more effectively.

3590) and the Health Care Education Reconciliation Act 2010 (H.R. 4872). When President Obama
signed these two bills, they became Public Law. The purpose of the ACA is to make health care more
accessible to all residents of the United States by three means: mandating all U.S. residents to select a
health insurance plan, forbidding insurers from denying coverage based on a pre existing condition,
and expanding program. The ACA states that the federal government will pay 100% of the cost of a
newly enrolled Medicaid participants until 2016 for all states that expand their Medicaid program up
to 138% of the federal poverty level and will pay90% by 2020 (Kincaid, 2013). Other concerns
include whether the federal government will give state enough flexibility to manage Medicaid
program, whether hospitals will receive adequate compensation to care for more patients and whether
the physician workforce can accommodate the increased demand for care (Kincaid, 2013). The ACA is
affected by two things, one is payments of hospitals and providers. The ACA does not provide fee for
service towards a bundled payment. This type of payment, a set amout is paid for all services rendered
and treatment related sickness. The ACA emphasizes pay per performance, meaning that the providers
will not receive payment based on the patient outcome. For example, if the patient has shown no
improvement there will be penalties. Also, there will be penalties if the patient has to be hospitalized

According To Carl Jung s And Keirsey Tespogical Approach...
According to Carl Jung s and Isabel Briggs Myers typological approach to personality, I was
characterized as having an INTJ personality type. The analysis of the Jung Typology Test data
indicated that I have a slight preference for Introversion over Extraversion (19%), moderate
preference of Intuition over Sensing (50%), moderate preference of Thinking over Feeling (28%), and
moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (25%). Interestingly, the INTJ personality is of one of
the scarcest of the 16 psychological types and it does not manifest too often in the population. As
shown by the Center for Applications of Psychological Type, in the United States is estimated that the
INTJ personality accounts for only 2 4% of the population. However, in the second test, according to
Keirsey Temperament Theory, my Keirsey Temperament Sorter results indicated that my personality
type is that of the Guardians (SJ s). Guardians (SJs) seem to be a common personality type which I
seem to share with the largest segment of the population more specific with about 40 50% of the
population. Even though the INTJ personality seems more unique than the Guardians, I agree with
both of Carl G. Jung s theory of psychological types and Keirsey Temperament Sorter results.
Furthermore, I took the Jung Typology Test over seven years ago and got the same results. I consider
myself so self aware of my personality type that if I was asked to read each description for the

Jalen Life Insurance
Life insurance plays a critical role in an individual s estate planning. One of the main reasons for this
is to create liquidity or cash flow. Traditionally, assets in an estate are non liquid assets such as
business interests or personal property, including real estate. At the time of death, expenses and estate
taxes, can be overwhelming for heirs to find the cash to pay. If this is the case, then the estate assets
must be either sold or used as collateral in taking out a loan to pay the taxes. Another factor is that
estate taxes must be paid within a certain time frame, typically 6 9 months after the estate payout.

Careful planning must be done in using life insurance to pay for estate taxes. Ownership of the policy

the compound effect and that exercising his rights to take the money out will change the terms of the

Picasso when it became a distinctive part of the modern art world, it is created by using materials such
as paper, card, newspaper and magazine clippings, tissue paper and photographs placed together onto
a piece of paper or canvas and stuck down to create a completely new image. Collages have also often
been used in different types of art such as cubism and wood work and other types of paintings. It was
first introduced around 200 BC when the invention of paper came around in China; however it wasn t

Effects Of Overpopulation
With the fast paced and growing world that we live in today, we are overpopulating, over consuming
and a significant amount of our resources are being used up. Malthusian focuses on bringing
importance to the issue of overpopulation and how it strains many aspects of our lives such as the
environment, and economy. Therefore, Thomas Robert Malthus theory of overpopulation is a prime
example of the dangers overpopulation can have on our planet if there are no measures taken to ensure
that there will be a sustainable future. For instance, we are going through a crisis in many parts of the
world where overpopulation is an issue and is resulting in poverty. Additionally, many countries are
suffering economically due to the very limited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also present in Kenya since AIDS and HIV are a critical issue in the country and it doesn t help
when families are having a lot of children that they cannot provide for. Northern India is an example
needs help controlling their population since the negative aspects are going to continue to increase
overtime if it continues to grow at the current rates. China and the one child policy is an example of
how population control helped keep the country more sustainable. It s crucial to keep in mind that the
more people that there are, the more resources are needed and is very difficult to create a sustainable
society when the members are having many children that they cannot provide for.
Furthermore, there are inconsistent population to food growth in many countries and this can be very
damaging to the economy. For instance, there has been a rapid growing population in India but
agricultural production has slowed down. Which means that there is a scramble for increasingly scarce
resources. This does not only affect the economy exports but it also negatively impacts the citizen of
the country since it can get more expensive for large families to provide food for their children. This is
very similar to Thomas Robert Malthus theory of overpopulation since he stated that there would be a
gap between population and food sources since population would significantly outweigh food sources.
In addition to that, many developing

Land Rights In Indigenous Australian History
Arguably one of the most notable cases conducted in the Australian High Court, Mabo and others v
Queensland (No2) (1992), or shortened to Mabo 2, holds prominent significance in Indigenous
Australian history as being the first legal recognition of land rights for Indigenous Peoples under the
common law system. Despite the court ruling in favour of Mabo, and additional legislation protecting
First Peoples native title claims, little buffer presently exists to prevent land claims from being

Symbolism In William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying
There are many symbols in As I Lay Dying. William Faulkner is known for symbols in his novels. The
character s names in this novel even have a meaning. Although they are hard to decipher, once the
symbol is revealed, it makes the novel much more interesting. Throughout the novel, we see that
almost every person s name in the Bundren family has a meaning, and every person has a symbol. The
last name has a meaning itself. Bundren sounds like burden, and that is exactly what the family is to
almost everyone. Starting with Anse, Faulkner uses his name to define the word anserous . Anserous
means resembling a goose; silly; simple. In Addie s chapter, she describes him as a tall bird hunched
in the cold weather (pg. 170). This explains Anse s goose like stature. His symbol throughout the
novel is self greed. Anse states after Addie s death, But now I can get them teeth (pg. 111). This just
proves how selfish he is and does not care about his wife s passing, only about his new teeth. Addie s
name is very simple and does not have a meaning, but her symbol is deep. She is always looking out
of the window at her coffin being built while she is lying in her bed. I believe Faulkner was showing
how badly Addie wants to go to the other side. Faulkner uses powerful imagery, It was nigh toward
daybreak when we drove the last nail and toted it into the house, where she was laying on the bed with
the window open and the rain blowing on her again (pg. 73). This shows how sad Addie is

Beowulf and Modern United States Essay
Beowulf and Modern United States
Many people who read the poem Beowulf would probably find it hard to find similarities between the
poem and life in modern America. How could one compare an ancient Anglo Saxon culture with the
sophisticated world that we are living in today? But, if we look closely, we may be able to pinpoint
some parallel between the two societies. This essay will discuss the topics of warrior life, the bad guy,
and social similarities. One might wonder how a warrior culture might be similar to our own? But if
we consider American culture, we are actually still very war like. We have a strong military system
built to protect our country and the people that make it up. We are also known for going to the aid of

There have been anti war protests because people are not so sure who the bad guy is. In Beowulf, I felt
that same idea. Even though Grendel is doing bad things, I don t think that he is so different from the
humans. He is killing people for his own reasons, which is the same attitude I saw in Beowulf.
Grendel is jealous of the humans and his inability to be like them causes him to kill those same people
he envies. Murders are acts of revenge in some cases in the story such as the death of Aeschere by
Grendel s mother for her son s death. Killing occurs in the story for very simple or petty motives.
There is also a social similarity in the cultures. There is the same idea of people coming together to
relax and talk while drinking alcohol. Many times the alcohol can lead to negative conversations. This
can be seen in Beowulf. Unferth says to Beowulf, Are you that Beowulf who contended with Breca,
competed in swimming on the broad sea, where for pride you explored the water, and for foolish boast
ventured lives in the deep? (Norton 11) He is trying to put Beowulf down here, and I m sure the
alcohol made it easier for him to say what it is he is thinking. In Beowulf, the mead hall is a hub for
this type of social interaction, a way to relax from the pressures of the warrior life. This is very similar
to American society now. Bars and similar establishments have replaced the mead halls, but

Legal Aspects of DNA Testing and the Scientific Expert in Court
DNA testing like many other tools in forensics to identify suspects has been through various

can help to exclude, include, and can even be used to convict suspects. The weight of DNA testing is
heavy in that can be used to alter a person s life forever, hence, the legal movements for it to be

The proper training certificates, proficiency test results, curriculum vitae, employment history are
some of the documents the courts use to qualify someone as a Scientific Expert. Through the
education and experience they receive, a scientific expert should be able to explain and teach both
lawyers and jurors how DNA testing work and how they were able to arrive at their results and
conclusions. Their explanations and teachings may involve the use of presentations, literary
references, and even scenarios that would help to view the advantages of evidence in every aspect
without bias.
One reason for exploring and determining the legal aspects of DNA testing is that there are so many
factors involved. From sample collection to analyzing results, every step in processing must be
handled with the greatest of care. Because DNA testing is now something that is looked for by jurors,
the defense attorneys will go through every process used to make sure that proper procedures were
followed and that there are no bias elements involved. For this reason, DNA testing procedures must
be documented. Notes should be taken before, and during processing. A chain of custody document
should also be used to keep an accurate log of the evidence.
All of the burdens involved in the legal aspects of DNA testing however, does not fall on the Scientific
Expert. The courts must also follow proper procedures to ensure a solid conviction. The proper
channels should be investigated

My Career Pl Paulo Coelho
My Career Plan
As Paulo Coelho puts it, When you want something, the entire universe conspires in helping you to
achieve it . The moment I read this line in the book The Alchemist, I thought it did not make any
sense. However, I later realized that what this quote means for me is that when I decide what I want, I
just go for it. It took me some time to realize I wanted to be an accountant. I first had to learn about
my weaknesses and strengths before knowing what career was right for me. My love for number,
attention to details among other strengths made me conclude that forensic accountancy is the prefer
career. It is a long way before I become one and I still don t have the details of where I want to work
five years from now nor what specific role. In these regard, I am very open minded. In order to detail
my career plan, it is important to mention where I am today, how I decided to choose forensic
accountancy, and where I want to be in five years.
Where do I stand today in my career path?
I am a first generation immigrant and college student. I received my associate s degree of accounting
in New Jersey at Hudson County Community College in December of 2014. I transferred to Pitt in the
fall of 2015. Then, the spring of 2016, I transferred to the College of Business Administration, where I
officially resumed my bachelor s degree in accounting. I intend on becoming a forensic accountant,
but to do so, I need to at least be a Certified Public Accountant and gain extensive

Mark Antony s Strengths
In Julius Caesar there are many noble Romans that come about throughout the play. The most noble
Roman that was in the whole play is Mark Antony. Mark Antony is the most noblest because he has
both strengths and weaknesses. The two major strengths he has is holding it together and telling his
people that Caesar is dead and who has killed him, also he is strong when he gets an army together to
fight Brutus. The only weakness he has is being very angry and falling apart when he finds out that
Caesar is dead. Mark Antony was very noble when he had to tell his people at Caesar had been
stabbed by his own best friend and they bathed themselves in his blood after. He gives Brutus thanks

Acquiring Political Power under a Principality Essay
In The Prince, Machiavelli writes his analysis of how to acquire and sustain political power under a
principality. It is his understanding of human nature and the ability to maintain control over people
that make up the base for all of the other theories he puts forth. Machiavelli is able to recognize what
it takes to balance the citizens somewhere between happy and scared, so to keep them from revolting
while appearing united and strong discouraging others form invading. Thucydides shares a similar
view of human nature, as he sees all people as being motivated by fear, honor, and self interest.
Machiavelli and Thucydides both demonstrate how a ruler can use many aspects of human nature to
their advantage when ruling a state.

This passage provides the reasoning why leaders are safer feared than loved. When danger is close at
hand, people will turn on you if they do not fear the punishment they will be handed.
Thucydides shared a very similar view of human nature using different reasoning as to why humans
are of a self centered, amoral nature when faced with tragedy. Thucydides showed the similarities in
human nature during the plague and during the war. He observed that in the plague and in wartime,
humans become self serving individuals and give up their morality and reason. Although Thucydides
and Machiavelli wrote their books two thousand years apart, the similarity in their views showed that
human nature had not changed. The fact that their works are still refered to today suggests that human
nature has not in fact even changed much today.
Machiavelli s first focus has to do with the changing of rulers in a state and what the most effective
strategy of taking over is. The ideal way of taking over is dependent on what the situation in the state
was before and how the new ruler came into power. Thucydides states for a private citizen to become
prince through their own ability is very tough to do, but when they are successful it is easy to keep
their power. On the other hand

My Dorm Room At The Pennsylvania State University
Staying cool is something we all strive to do when it is too hot, and vice versa when it is too cold.
Being to hot or too cold is an extreme nuisance in every day lives, but I d much rather be too cold than
too hot. It is quite simple to keep warm: either put on more layers of clothing or wrap yourself in a
blanket. To keep cool is another story; one could strip off layers of clothes until they are naked and
have no more layers to go, then they resort to a fan, which in turn is just blowing more hot air at them.
Coming to The Pennsylvania State University I was excited to learn, meet new people and have fun,
and I have been able to do most of those, however, it is sometimes difficult with the scalding oven that
is my dorm room. To help fix the problem that my fellow students and I are experiencing, I propose
that the university either install central air conditioning in all dorms, or, barring that, install air
conditioning units in dorm rooms, in order to allow students to get more sleep, better grades, and have
an overall better and healthier college experience. Sleeping for as long as you want! Sounds like
paradise, but it is quite unrealistic. Instead I would ask to sleep for as long as I could until my alarm
wakes me up for class. That should not be too much to ask for, nonetheless, it takes great effort on my
part to do the actual sleeping. It is hard enough to go to bed with thoughts of grades and of life little
stresses in general, but is remarkably difficult when

My School For High School
Years have passed and now I have reached Junior High School. I should be happy because of my
smartness ; I was chosen to go to a special school for student enrichment. However, I am not happy
because the school my mother selected for me is far away from the neighbor, and the school district
where I lived had just built a brand new school within walking distance from my home; most of my
friends are attending there, and I could not understand why my mother chose to send me across town.
However, my mother enrolled me in a different district, which meant I had to travel either by city bus
or walk. The bus trip would take about an hour and the walk was at least 10 15 miles. My mother had
this brainy idea to enroll me in this school for enrichment; somehow this was supposed to be good for
me. It didn t make sense, nor did I care to share her enthusiasm of starting over in a new learning
environment. I was thrust out my comfort zone and probably would not have protested as much if the
change wasn t so drastic. It ll become clearer what I mean by this. The first day of school was filled
with the normal awkwardness; however, it was also permeated with amplified anxiety as I realize this
school was not in a great neighborhood. Some would call this the hood. I thought I was attending a
school for smart people. Now I am getting the meaning of some of my early teachings that there are
two types of smart; street smart and book smart. I am realizing that these two types of people

The city had rapidly fallen into a state of inner city decay.
The first step taken by the Councils was to carry out Comprehensive Redevelopment. This means
demolishing and rebuilding slums. Many slums were removed from areas such as Gorbals, and roads
new roads were also built to improve transport links. To re house all of the people made homeless
from the demolishing of the slums, many cheap tower blocks were erected for people to live in.
However these came with their own set of new problems.
They were put up very rapidly, and so they were very badly built. They soon became damp, and walls

The tower blocks also brought with them crime, as they are extremely hard to police.

A business may possess inferior employees but the huge amount of loyalty would have can send a
very insignificant business to amazing heights. Likewise, those employees with unsubstantial amount
of loyalty may cause tremendous business to collapse.
DuPont being one of the largest chemical company in the world, it is a necessity for them to continue
to work as effective and efficient as possible. To help them with such we have conducted a study on
employee loyalty. With this study, we aim to come with an output that will be able to assist DuPont to
design different programs to help improve the employee organizational loyalty. Through this we as
well want to prove that the amount of loyalty of the employees of a business plays a significant role in
the success of the corporations.
Theoretical Framework
John Meyer and Natalie Allen proposed the Three Components of Commitment model, which
explains how organizational commitment is a psychological related idea. They suggested three factors
that affect how an employee sees his/her organization. With this knowledge and better understanding,
one can increase not only the engagement of the employees, but their well being and job satisfaction
as well. By using these components together with various appropriate approaches, a manager now has
the ability to effectively motivate and work with his/her team.

How People Make Economic Decisions The economic decision an individual, household, or even a

good or service, the demand of that good or service and ultimately the price of that good or service.
This paper will focus on how individual decision making affects an economy, how understanding the
marginal benefits from the marginal cost affects economic decisions, and the three major types of
economic systems. The main principle of individual decision making is utility. Utility is the enjoyment

3 31). A key factor in economics such as scarcity, which is defined as a situation in which unlimited
wants exceed the limited resources available to fulfill those wants, effects how much money an
individual will spend or how many goods a country can produce. Since the majority of people have a
limited income, their decision to buy what they want and need is limited due to budget constraints.
Because resources are limited, a country must decide what goods it can produce to help progress the
economy as a whole. The country has to determine the opportunity cost of that activity of producing
that good or service. Opportunity cost is the highest valued alternative that must be given up to engage
in an activity (Hubbard O Brien, 2010, pp. 3 31). The three major economic systems are centrally
planned economy, market economy and mixed economy. Centrally planned economy is an economy in
which the government decides on how resources will be used. Market economy is an economy in
which individuals, households, and firms participating and interacting in markets determine how
economic resources are used. Mixed economy is primarily a market economy because most economic
decisions are a result of the interaction of buyers and seller in markets. However, the government
plays a significant role in the allocation of resources (Hubbard O Brien, 2010, pp. 3 31). By

Controversy Surrounding the Use of Contraception
Introduction
From the time when it became available the near the beginning of the 1960s, oral contraceptives,
commonly called the pill, have opened possibilities that had were shut to females for all of times gone
by. Possibly more than any other sole factor, the pill has made it likely for women to be in charge of of
their own lives and to attain their prospects. Nowadays, 100 million women all over the world use the
pill. Nonetheless, there are emergencies ensuing from rape or failure to use contraceptive plans. There
are in addition emergencies ensuing from accidental consensual sex. In spite of everything, the human
sexual desire was fashioned by evolution to guarantee procreation, and it works extremely fine. Given
the correct psychological stimulants, pretty much everyone, counting presidents of the United States
and well known religious leaders, will jeopardize it all for an illicit sexual rendezvous (Drazen, et al.
2004). To be adamant that society rely exclusively on self restraint more willingly than contraception
is to refute a nature beside which the gods themselves are unable to compete. The whole history of
humanity can be interpreted as evidence to the influence of that nature.
Plan B was produced to cover emergencies, no matter what their reason. It turned out to be obtainable
by prescription in 1999. Millions of women have ever since found Plan B to be harmless and efficient

Lenin s Revolution Essay
Lenin s Revolution
At the start of the 20th century, the ruling Tsar of Russia had absolute power and his Government was
corrupt, hence, the majority of the people were against him. Vladimir Ilich Lenin, the leader of the
Bolsheviks Socialist Party wanted a revolution to overthrow the Government. Relative to these times,
it was Lenin who directed the course of the oncoming Russian October Revolution.
The outbreak of the unrest, in January 1905, found Lenin anxious to set down a novel strategy for

Placing revolution above party unity, Lenin would accept no unity compromise if he thought it might

not been a revolution. He clearly pushed its commencement.
Ten years in exile had not swayed Lenin?s determination to create and direct a powerful revolution.
Lenin returned to Russia from exclusion in February 1917, believing that the time was ripe to seize
power. The Russian economy was in ruin after the army was nearly defeated and the people exhausted
as a result of the First World War. The country was in an unstable state, suitable for a revolution
(Levinthal 119). Around October 20, Lenin, in disguise and at considerable personal risk, slipped into
Petrograd and attended a secret meeting of the Bolshevik Central Committee held on the evening of
October 23. Not until after a heated 10 hour debate did he finally win a majority in favour of preparing
an armed takeover. Now steps to enlist the support of soldiers and sailors and to train the Red Guards,
the Bolshevik led workers militia, for an armed takeover proceeded openly under the guise of self
defense of the Petrograd Soviet. Even at great personal risk, Lenin was adamant in spurring a
successful revolution.

Link between ideology and media
The ideology of the media is broad and manifests in the communicativity of the media. To facilitate
ideological analysis, however, the key is the fit between the images and texts in a specific media
output, plus the manner thought and discussion on social and cultural issues. Questions, however, arise
as to how the media content (shaped by ideologies) depict real life. This begs the question of function
and ethics. The ideological analysis further attempts to answer questions about what the media
messages depict of the society and its people.
This underscores why politicians have long perceived mass media as a veritable channel of
disseminating an ideology so that the society can mirror itself against what the media feeds it and thus
be manipulated. This further begs the question of whether the media is a contributor or otherwise to
societal problems in the face of political ideological dissemination.
Furthermore, the media and ideology are interconnected in the following ways (Asemah, 2011):
i. The media serves as a channel for communication of ideologies ii. Media function requires its
representation of concepts of reality within and without the local environment to the

When a person is 18 they are considered to be more independent, and they are no longer supported by
their parents. The law may say that you re an adult at 18, but when reaching your 20s you have already
been away from your parents long enough to learn more about taking care of yourself, and how the
world works around you. People may argue that when you turn 18 you have more responsibilities as
an adult, and are no longer considered a teenager anymore. Some of the rights you earn when you turn
18 should be earned when your brain is fully developed at 25 and you can think for yourself. The
rights of an 18 year old is different than the rights of people in their 20s because at that age is when

Physics Of Crumple Zones
Crumple zones are structural areas in the front, sometimes rear of a vehicle that are designed to absorb
energy upon impact in a predictable way.
When a car crash occurs, the goal is for the structure to crush in a relatively gradual, predictable way
that absorbs much of the impact energy, keeping it away from the occupants in what is termed a
controlled crush.
Physics of car crumple zones
Newton s first law indicates that an object in motion will remain in motion with the same speed along

Symptoms And Treatments Of A Stroke
According to the Center of Disease Control Stroke is a leading cause of death in the United States,
killing nearly 130,000 Americans each year that s 1 of every 20 deaths. America s population is
around 320 million according to government census. The statistics of 130,000 may not seem like a lot
compared to America s population, but clearly it is a significant amount. This statistic only counts the
stroke victims that die, but many stroke victims survive with few as well as major issues leading to a
compromised life after. So what is a stroke? A stroke also known as Cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
happens when there is a loss of blood supply to the brain. In the following we will be looking at the
history of the disease, suspected causes, symptoms and treatments. Before we go into the history of a
stroke take some time to look at the population chart in the back (pg. 8 image. 1) to see where strokes
occur most. As you can see, the chart shows statistics of where strokes occur most and least around the
U.S. and the number varies per 100,000 in the U.S. At this time there is no correlation between
location and stroke numbers. Though by looking at the Stroke Death Rates around the country clearly
wherever you live there is no place or person that is immune from the possibility of getting a stroke.
So what is a stroke? A stroke according to the Saladin Anatomy and Physiology text book is the
sudden death of brain tissue caused by ischemia. Ischemia is a lack of

Since the 1990 s, Spain has entered the global market to claim its position as a high quality value wine
producer (www.winesfromspain.com). Spain s rich wine history together with it s relatively new
global market entry and cost leadership strategy makes an interesting blend of old world and new
world characteristics. State of the Industry Wine is a significant part of Spain s cultural identity and
economy. The sector represents Spain s third largest agriculture crop after cereals and olives, and it
leads the world in vineyard land with 1.16 million hectares (www.foodswinesfromspain.com).
However, most the land is arid and sparsely planted. Yet, it holds third position globally in wine
volume produced (Rubio, 2010). Although Spain has a traditional wine and food culture, domestic
consumption continues to decline. The decreased consumption is attributed to strict drunk driving
laws impacting restaurant sales and the rise of alternative drinks such as mineral water (Carrion and
Albaladejo, 2010). Also, millennials tend to not drink wine. In fact, the characteristic Spanish wine
drinker is an older male with a preference for high quality aged DO red wines that drinks at home, an
aging demographic. Spain s domestic market consumes 28.2 liters per capita compared to France at 50
liters per capita necessitating an aggressive export strategy (Mtimet and Albisu; Minjares). Exports

The Martial Arts School Program
The aim of this paper is to make the proposition and methodological defense to evaluate program
planning in reference to the organization selected from module 2.
Based to implementing the Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts Association s program; the
program implementer must commence by learning about the martial arts school program; its mission
statement, goals, and objectives must be understood. These elements are capital when interested to
implementing an organizational program. 1 Many methods can be utilized to implement any program.
In the case of the martial arts school, the program implementer can utilize the quantitative or
qualitative methods, or both as mixed method for collecting data. The selection of quantitative ...

This methodology helps design the studies scientifically. In quantitative research methodology, data
can be collected without the participants, Rudestam Newton (2007) noted that Quantitative research
seeks objectivity by standardizing the procedures and measures as much as possible data and by
distancing the researcher from the participants. When proceeding for the implementation of the martial
arts school, the implementer can also applicate the qualitative research method to gather data. This
method requires a series of interviews, observations, and open ended questionnaires. Effectively,
qualitative research method in program evaluation allows rapid surveys, direct and indirect
interactions with participants, and feedbacks from stakeholders and clients are necessary.
Questionnaires or likers reports are also necessary, since feedback from clients, employees,
stakeholders, and others individual willing to learn about the program that is being implemented
within the organization would bring a plus in terms of modifying, implementing, or discontinuing the
program. Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative method to develop the martial arts school program
is a good bet since both method would work. The optimization of the quantitative method may
promote slow data collection procedure; this process involves standardized assessment, statistical

Cyber Bullying Persuasive Essay
Inspirational speaker, writer, and community leader Anna Maria Chávez once said Cyber Bullies can
hide behind a mask of anonymity online, and do not need direct physical access to their victims to do
unimaginable harm. Cyberbullying is negatively taking over technology and adults aren t aware of the
potential dangers it has on their children. To start, children and teens do not talk to their parents about
the acts of cyberbullying that occur on their technology. Over half of young teens do not tell their
parents when cyberbullying occurs. (Webstar, 2017) This is a big problem. This means that children
are hurting, the result of cyberbullying, and they are afraid to talk to their parents, or any adult for that
matter. They are keeping their emotions bottled up inside them, and parents have no idea this is
happening. In fact, only 1 in 10 teens tell an adult if they have been a cyberbully victim. (Webstar,
2017) These numbers should not be the effect of cyberbullying. Children have to seek help from
adults and stop the cyber bullies hiding behind their screen. Might I add, it should not be all on the
children s shoulders. They are the victim, and they should stand up for themselves, but why should it
be all on them? Parents have to be on the lookout for cyber bullying these days. Only 32% of parents
actually monitor their children s social networking activities, while 28% admitted they only
occasionally, rarely or never monitor activity. (Anderson, 2016) This 28% of

What qualities and experiences do you have that best prepare you for the demands of the Chicago
EYES on Cancer program? (250/250) After I had taken AP Biology during my junior year, I decided
that I wanted to become a researcher. The topics that I have learned from the class will be a great base
for the program. The summer after the class, I participated in a program called Junior Research
Scientists, where I became familiar with the research process. With a group, I conducted an
experiment on which form of light concentration produces the most power from pv cells. I also
learned about robotics, electricity, and made biodiesel. I am currently taking Biochemistry and AP
Computer Science A to better prepare me as a researcher. Knowing how to code will allow me to
better manipulate data from experiments and will improve my problem solving skills overall. ... Show

George Wesley Bellow s Rain On The River
The artist George Wesley Bellow s oil painting, Rain on the river, 1908, 15 is s a famous piece of art
located in the Rhode Island School of Design Museum. In the RISD Museum George Wesley Bellow s
oil painting is located in the modern and contemporary gallery. The colors used by the artist help tell
the story of the painting. While observing the painting the smoke from the train stood out the most,
this seems to be the most important part for the curator. The bright modern building makes George
Wesley Bellow s painting stand out because of his use of dark colors. George Wesley Bellow focuses
on the white smoke from the train and the dark colors in his oil painting, Rain on the river. The smoke

What Is The Theme Of Freedom In Lord Of The Flies
In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, Golding is conveying that when there is no jurisdiction over
humans, things are bound to get out of hand. Freedom has no limits and gives many options for one
without chains binding and restricting their every movement. Golding shows us that humans are likely
to change when there is no authority over them. Firstly, without knowing that there are regulations or
rules, anyone is known to think that they can do whatever they want. They believe that all their
wrongdoings will be bypassed. Secondly, the eventual loss of order in the boys leads them to separate
paths and different tribes. Without a guardian figure guiding them and keeping together, some
individuals believe they can live on their own. Thirdly, humans are savage by nature and may go back
to their roots when the body thinks it needs to. There are several ways in which Golding illustrates the
change in the behaviours of the boys with their new found freedom; however, the most significant
thing is how they now act as people in general on the island.
First and foremost, when children are unsupervised, they tend to think that they can do anything
because they will not receive any inconvenience. For example, the British Naval Officer on shore
states that I should have thought that a pack of British boys would have been able to put up a better
show than that (page 202). This statement from the Officer illustrates that without an adult figure on
the island, the boys became mad and

High School is where Michael Jordan s journey to stardom began, but the beginning of Michael Jordan s High School career got off to a rocky start. As a High School sophomore he was cut from the varsity basketball team, and instead his 6 7 friend Leroy Smith made the team. Varsity head coach, Fred Lynch decided that the varsity team needed Leroy Smith s size, and thought Michael at 5 10 was too short and needed to develop his skills in order to be a reliable contributor to the varsity team. Michael had no choice but to play on the junior varsity team, which greatly frustrated him, because he felt like he was good enough to make the varsity team. It was embarrassing ... The Five Star Basketball Camp was also where North Carolina head coach Dean Smith first noticed the talented and skilled Michael Jordan. Wheelchair Stereotypes Myth 1: Wheelchairs Summary: According to the article 6 Stereotypes of Disability from Disabled We Stand, one of the misconceptions was, if you re in a wheelchair, that can mean either that you re deaf, dumb and stupid, or that you re a goddess on wheels. People approach you when they usually wouldn t approach anyone else. Furthermore, others are drawn to people in wheelchairs because they automatically feel pity and interest in the difference in lifestyles. Rather than letting a wheelchair define someone s character, personality, or life, perhaps getting to know the individual would be a more accurate representation of who they are as a person. She was able to travel to New York City to participate in fashion shows and had a little bit of difficulty when operating the ramps, but as she said, she figured it out. She relied on an interpreter to explain to us what she was saying, but as the interpreter said, she learned how to understand Delaina by repetition, as Delaina would make certain shapes with her mouth when she would talk and the interpreter figured out how to understand her over time. Delaina is the perfect example of an individual with a disability who does not need help. She comes up with her own sketches, operates her own wheelchair, and can type into her computer to let us know what she is thinking. Her brilliance was apparent when she talked about how dedicated she was to her sketches and how she was honored to attend the University of Florida. According to NAMI (), schizophrenia is a long term mental illness that interferes with a person s ability to think clearly, make decisions, and relate to others, impairing a person from functioning to their full potential when left untreated. For these persons affected, it is many times difficult to distinguish what is real from what is not. Unfortunately, no single simple course of treatment exists. Research has linked schizophrenia to a multitude of possible causes (NAMI). As stated by NIHM, the prevalence of schizophrenia is about 1 in every 100 people in the general population. A study was conducted to determine whether severe adverse events in childhood might contribute to the specific symptoms of schizophrenia and not merely to increased risk for the psychosis (CHILDHOOD STRESSORS). This study is believed to be the first of its kind. It took 134 patients discharged from Norristown State Hospital in Pennsylvania between 1984 and 1990. • 5. Social Media Influence On Sports Research Paper The evolution of sports media and the technology used to promote sports products over the past two decades has changed the way the public views sport products. With the increased popularity of social media anyone can have access to their favorite sport. The public is using more on line tools to receive their information instead of the traditional ways two decades ago. This gives the audience a new platform, which will increase viewers and perhaps product revenues. In return sports can influence the media just as well. The fast pace action that takes place forces the media to keep up and evolve technology. As the sport grows in popularity the audience expands which will increase the amount of viewers. This will drive social media, blogs, and twitter followers. Now a days the public wants to have their information when they want it. Sporting events will dictate how the media will cover the event. The one improvement in sports media over the past twenty years is the development in social media. The instant information that the public can receive is just a click away. It is believed that the Charter s creation was a significant benefit as it guarantees certain political rights to Canadian citizens and civil rights of everyone in Canada from the policies and actions of all areas and levels of government. However, many believe the Charter makes Canada more like the United States, especially by serving corporate rights and individual rights rather than group rights and social rights. Also, there are several rights that should be included in the Charter, such as a right to health care and a basic right to free education. With this, by guaranteeing certain political rights and civil rights to every Canadian citizen, it is evident that the creation of the Charter of Rights Freedoms was not a mistake, and was truly a benefit to all Canadian citizens for many important reasons. One important reason is that Charter guarantees all Canadians their legal rights as it promises rights of people in dealing with the justice system and law enforcement are protected. In addition with the guarantee of Canadians legal rights, is their language rights which is to assure people have the right to use either the English or French language in communications with Canada s federal government and certain provincial governments. Hromulak 10 December 2015 The Adaption of Double Indemnity Although adaptions are not a new form of entertainment, recent trends show that the many books that are forced to change to film tend to provoke criticism and debate. This type of attitude was definitely prevccalent in the film Double Indemnity directed by Billy Wilder. This was because it was adapted from the novella by James Cain which held the same title. Substantial differences from the novella made the film a richer and better depicted story for the audience. It is agreeable that the nature of the adaption was made so that it would be easily understood by the audiences it was going to be viewed by. This serves to angle audiences in a way that Wilder wanted as well as emphasizing the despair at the center of the story. The characters in the film are basically unfolding their predetermined destiny which is different from the novella. The purpose of the ACA is to make health care more accessible to all residents of the United States by three means: mandating all U.S. residents to select a health insurance plan, forbidding insurers from denying coverage based on a pre existing condition, and expanding program. The ACA states that the federal government will pay 100% of the cost of a newly enrolled Medicaid participants until 2016 for all states that expand their Medicaid program up to 138% of the federal poverty level and will pay90% by 2020 (Kincaid, 2013). Other concerns include whether the federal government will give state enough flexibility to manage Medicaid program, whether hospitals will receive adequate compensation to care for more patients and whether the physician workforce can accommodate the increased demand for care (Kincaid, 2013). The ACA is affected by two things, one is payments of hospitals and providers. The ACA does not provide fee for service towards a bundled payment. This type of payment, a set amout is paid for all services rendered and treatment related sickness. The ACA emphasizes pay per performance, meaning that the providers will not receive payment based on the patient outcome. For example, if the patient has shown no improvement there will be penalties. Interestingly, the INTJ personality is of one of the scarcest of the 16 psychological types and it does not manifest too often in the population. As shown by the Center for Applications of Psychological Type, in the United States is estimated that the INTJ personality accounts for only 2 4% of the population. However, in the second test, according to Keirsey Temperament Theory, my Keirsey Temperament Sorter results indicated that my personality type is that of the Guardians (SJ s). If this is the case, then the estate assets must be either sold or used as collateral in taking out a loan to pay the taxes. • 18. Symbolism In William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying There are many symbols in As I Lay Dying. William Faulkner is known for symbols in his novels. The character s names in this novel even have a meaning. Although they are hard to decipher, once the symbol is revealed, it makes the novel much more interesting. Throughout the novel, we see that almost every person s name in the Bundren family has a meaning, and every person has a symbol. The last name has a meaning itself. Bundren sounds like burden, and that is exactly what the family is to almost everyone. Starting with Anse, Faulkner uses his name to define the word anserous . Anserous means resembling a goose; silly; simple. In Addie s chapter, she describes him as a tall bird hunched in the cold weather (pg. 170). This explains Anse s goose like stature. His symbol throughout the novel is self greed. Anse states after Addie s death, But now I can get them teeth (pg. 111). This just proves how selfish he is and does not care about his wife s passing, only about his new teeth. Addie s name is very simple and does not have a meaning, but her symbol is deep. She is always looking out of the window at her coffin being built while she is lying in her bed. I believe Faulkner was showing how badly Addie wants to go to the other side. Faulkner uses powerful imagery, It was nigh toward daybreak when we drove the last nail and toted it into the house, where she was laying on the bed with the window open and the rain blowing on her again (pg. 73). There have been anti war protests because people are not so sure who the bad guy is. In Beowulf, I felt that same idea. Even though Grendel is doing bad things, I don t think that he is so different from the humans. He is killing people for his own reasons, which is the same attitude I saw in Beowulf. Grendel is jealous of the humans and his inability to be like them causes him to kill those same people he envies. Murders are acts of revenge in some cases in the story such as the death of Aeschere by Grendel s mother for her son s death. Killing occurs in the story for very simple or petty motives. There is also a social similarity in the cultures. There is the same idea of people coming together to relax and talk while drinking alcohol. Many times the alcohol can lead to negative conversations. This can be seen in Beowulf. Unferth says to Beowulf, Are you that Beowulf who contended with Breca, competed in swimming on the broad sea, where for pride you explored the water, and for foolish boast ventured lives in the deep? (Norton 11) He is trying to put Beowulf down here, and I m sure the alcohol made it easier for him to say what it is he is thinking. In Beowulf, the mead hall is a hub for this type of social interaction, a way to relax from the pressures of the warrior life. This is very similar to American society now. Through the education and experience they receive, a scientific expert should be able to explain and teach both lawyers and jurors how DNA testing work and how they were able to arrive at their results and conclusions. Their explanations and teachings may involve the use of presentations, literary references, and even scenarios that would help to view the advantages of evidence in every aspect without bias. One reason for exploring and determining the legal aspects of DNA testing is that there are so many factors involved. From sample collection to analyzing results, every step in processing must be handled with the greatest of care. Because DNA testing is now something that is looked for by jurors, the defense attorneys will go through every process used to make sure that proper procedures were followed and that there are no bias elements involved. For this reason, DNA testing procedures must be documented. Notes should be taken before, and during processing. A chain of custody document should also be used to keep an accurate log of the evidence. All of the burdens involved in the legal aspects of DNA testing however, does not fall on the Scientific Expert. The courts must also follow proper procedures to ensure a solid conviction. Thucydides showed the similarities in human nature during the plague and during the war. Although Thucydides and Machiavelli wrote their books two thousand years apart, the similarity in their views showed that human nature had not changed. The fact that their works are still refered to today suggests that human nature has not in fact even changed much today. The ideal way of taking over is dependent on what the situation in the state was before and how the new ruler came into power. Being to hot or too cold is an extreme nuisance in every day lives, but I d much rather be too cold than too hot. It is quite simple to keep warm: either put on more layers of clothing or wrap yourself in a blanket. To keep cool is another story; one could strip off layers of clothes until they are naked and have no more layers to go, then they resort to a fan, which in turn is just blowing more hot air at them. A key factor in economics such as scarcity, which is defined as a situation in which unlimited wants exceed the limited resources available to fulfill those wants, effects how much money an individual will spend or how many goods a country can produce. Since the majority of people have a limited income, their decision to buy what they want and need is limited due to budget constraints. Because resources are limited, a country must decide what goods it can produce to help progress the economy as a whole. The country has to determine the opportunity cost of that activity of producing that good or service. Opportunity cost is the highest valued alternative that must be given up to engage in an activity (Hubbard O Brien, 2010, pp. 3 31). The three major economic systems are centrally planned economy, market economy and mixed economy. Centrally planned economy is an economy in which the government decides on how resources will be used. Market economy is an economy in which individuals, households, and firms participating and interacting in markets determine how economic resources are used. Mixed economy is primarily a market economy because most economic decisions are a result of the interaction of buyers and seller in markets. Moving out and being independent is hard, and a lot of people don t move out until after they are 18 because it s difficult to find a stable source of living. Being at the age when the brain is fully mature is at the age of 25 along with the rights that you earn as your brain starts to grow and develop more. If kids continue to be considered adults at 18, it can be more stressful for a young mind because their brain isn t fully ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Physics Of Crumple Zones Crumple zones are structural areas in the front, sometimes rear of a vehicle that are designed to absorb energy upon impact in a predictable way. When a car crash occurs, the goal is for the structure to crush in a relatively gradual, predictable way that absorbs much of the impact energy, keeping it away from the occupants in what is termed a controlled crush. Physics of car crumple zones Newton s first law indicates that an object in motion will remain in motion with the same speed along with the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. As a result, if a vehicle is going 70mph, the bodies inside are as well. If the vehicle collides with a solid wall and stops immediately, the bodies will want to continue going in the same ... The engine also contributes to effective defamation due to its space saving transverse installation and that all main components in the engine bay have their own predetermined positions even after a frontal collision in order to help reduce component intrusion into the cabin and provide the occupants with optimum ... • 44. Symptoms And Treatments Of A Stroke According to the Center of Disease Control Stroke is a leading cause of death in the United States, killing nearly 130,000 Americans each year that s 1 of every 20 deaths. America s population is around 320 million according to government census. The statistics of 130,000 may not seem like a lot compared to America s population, but clearly it is a significant amount. This statistic only counts the stroke victims that die, but many stroke victims survive with few as well as major issues leading to a compromised life after. So what is a stroke? A stroke also known as Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) happens when there is a loss of blood supply to the brain. In the following we will be looking at the history of the disease, suspected causes, symptoms and treatments. Before we go into the history of a stroke take some time to look at the population chart in the back (pg. 8 image. 1) to see where strokes occur most. As you can see, the chart shows statistics of where strokes occur most and least around the U.S. and the number varies per 100,000 in the U.S. At this time there is no correlation between location and stroke numbers. Though by looking at the Stroke Death Rates around the country clearly wherever you live there is no place or person that is immune from the possibility of getting a stroke. So what is a stroke? Since the 1990 s, Spain has entered the global market to claim its position as a high quality value wine producer (www.winesfromspain.com). Spain s rich wine history together with it s relatively new global market entry and cost leadership strategy makes an interesting blend of old world and new world characteristics. State of the Industry Wine is a significant part of Spain s cultural identity and economy. The sector represents Spain s third largest agriculture crop after cereals and olives, and it leads the world in vineyard land with 1.16 million hectares (www.foodswinesfromspain.com). However, most the land is arid and sparsely planted. Yet, it holds third position globally in wine volume produced (Rubio, 2010). Although Spain has a traditional wine and food culture, domestic consumption continues to decline. The decreased consumption is attributed to strict drunk driving laws impacting restaurant sales and the rise of alternative drinks such as mineral water (Carrion and Albaladejo, 2010). Also, millennials tend to not drink wine. In fact, the characteristic Spanish wine drinker is an older male with a preference for high quality aged DO red wines that drinks at home, an aging demographic. Spain s domestic market consumes 28.2 liters per capita compared to France at 50 liters per capita necessitating an aggressive export strategy (Mtimet and Albisu; Minjares). Exports now ... • 46. The Martial Arts School Program The aim of this paper is to make the proposition and methodological defense to evaluate program planning in reference to the organization selected from module 2. Based to implementing the Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts Association s program; the program implementer must commence by learning about the martial arts school program; its mission statement, goals, and objectives must be understood. These elements are capital when interested to implementing an organizational program. 1 Many methods can be utilized to implement any program. In the case of the martial arts school, the program implementer can utilize the quantitative or qualitative methods, or both as mixed method for collecting data. The selection of quantitative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This methodology helps design the studies scientifically. In quantitative research methodology, data can be collected without the participants, Rudestam Newton (2007) noted that Quantitative research seeks objectivity by standardizing the procedures and measures as much as possible data and by distancing the researcher from the participants. When proceeding for the implementation of the martial arts school, the implementer can also applicate the qualitative research method to gather data. This method requires a series of interviews, observations, and open ended questionnaires. Effectively, qualitative research method in program evaluation allows rapid surveys, direct and indirect interactions with participants, and feedbacks from stakeholders and clients are necessary. Questionnaires or likers reports are also necessary, since feedback from clients, employees, stakeholders, and others individual willing to learn about the program that is being implemented within the organization would bring a plus in terms of modifying, implementing, or discontinuing the program. Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative method to develop the martial arts school program is a good bet since both method would work. The optimization of the quantitative method may promote slow data collection procedure; this process involves standardized assessment, statistical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Cyber Bullying Persuasive Essay Inspirational speaker, writer, and community leader Anna Maria Chávez once said Cyber Bullies can hide behind a mask of anonymity online, and do not need direct physical access to their victims to do unimaginable harm. Cyberbullying is negatively taking over technology and adults aren t aware of the potential dangers it has on their children. To start, children and teens do not talk to their parents about the acts of cyberbullying that occur on their technology. Over half of young teens do not tell their parents when cyberbullying occurs. (Webstar, 2017) This is a big problem. This means that children are hurting, the result of cyberbullying, and they are afraid to talk to their parents, or any adult for that matter. They are keeping their emotions bottled up inside them, and parents have no idea this is happening. In fact, only 1 in 10 teens tell an adult if they have been a cyberbully victim. (Webstar, 2017) These numbers should not be the effect of cyberbullying. Children have to seek help from adults and stop the cyber bullies hiding behind their screen. Might I add, it should not be all on the children s shoulders. They are the victim, and they should stand up for themselves, but why should it be all on them? Parents have to be on the lookout for cyber bullying these days. Only 32% of parents actually monitor their children s social networking activities, while 28% admitted they only occasionally, rarely or never monitor activity. (Anderson, 2016) This 28% of ... • 51. What Is The Theme Of Freedom In Lord Of The Flies In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, Golding is conveying that when there is no jurisdiction over humans, things are bound to get out of hand. Freedom has no limits and gives many options for one without chains binding and restricting their every movement. Golding shows us that humans are likely to change when there is no authority over them. Firstly, without knowing that there are regulations or rules, anyone is known to think that they can do whatever they want. They believe that all their wrongdoings will be bypassed. Secondly, the eventual loss of order in the boys leads them to separate paths and different tribes. Without a guardian figure guiding them and keeping together, some individuals believe they can live on their own. Thirdly, humans are savage by nature and may go back to their roots when the body thinks it needs to. There are several ways in which Golding illustrates the change in the behaviours of the boys with their new found freedom; however, the most significant thing is how they now act as people in general on the island. First and foremost, when children are unsupervised, they tend to think that they can do anything because they will not receive any inconvenience. For example, the British Naval Officer on shore states that I should have thought that a pack of British boys would have been able to put up a better show than that (page 202). This statement from the Officer illustrates that without an adult figure on the island, the boys became mad and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
