The Ethics Of Sports Apparel
Founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank, a former University of Maryland football player, Under Armour is
an innovative company in the sports apparel industry. Under Armour s founder Kevin Plank came up
with a ground breaking idea that changed the way that sports apparel is looked at today. Plank wanted
to originate an apparel that would help athletes like him keep cool and dry when they engaged in
vigorous activities during high temperature condition, so he created sports apparel using synthetic
materials as an alternative to natural fibers such as cotton. Being a former athlete allowed Plank to
understand the discomfort of wearing a sweat cotton fiber shirt during sport practice, or work out, and
he worked relentlessly to develop a shirt that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Provide a five forces analysis to support your answer.
I believe that bargaining power of customers and threat of new entrants are the three main key forces
that have the potential to impact negatively Under Armour s growth stability. Under Armour relies
mainly on Dick s Sporting Goods and The Sports Authority for more than 20% of its revenues and
problems at these retailers could affect its growth pace. While Under Armour faces rigid competition
from Adidas and Nike, they could also see the competition go up from other companies as it does not
hold process or fabric patents. Furthermore, Under Armour s hard core competitors, Nike and Adidas
Group, are continuously coming up with new ideas in order to fight for that number one spot and to
earn the customers loyalty to their brand.
Five Porter Analysis
Competitive Rivalry within the Industry Nike and Adidas pose threat and Under Armour does not hold
patents.
Bargaining power of suppliers Diverse supplier base limits their bargaining power.
Bargaining Power of Customers Wholesale customers such as Dick s Sporting Goods and The Sports
Authority hold leverage.
Threat Of New Entrants Existing sports apparel companies could enter the performance apparel
market.
Threat of substitute products Demand for Under Armour s products is expected to continue.

War Stories
Tim O Brien got his inspiration from multiple instances of his time served in Vietnam. O Brien was
against the war like most of the people in the United States were at the time. He was a college student
looking forward to a different future. Like many others, he received a draft noticed on June 17th,
1968. He felt he was too good to go to war and tried to get out of being drafted with no luck. This
angered him greatly. He was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the 3rd Platoon, A CO. 5th
Battalion, 46th Infantry, as a foot soldier. His tour of duty was from 1969 to 1970. The unit he was in
deployed in with went to a part of Vietnam that they called Pinkville . His time in Vietnam gave him,
along with others, many stories to tell.
The Vietnam War was the longest conflict America has been involved in. The main reason for U.S.
involvement in Vietnam was to help stop the spread of communism. The theory at the time was the
Domino Effect which predicted that if Vietnam fell to communist control that all of Asia would. ...

O Brian explains how to tell the difference in the two. A real story has no moral to it; it doesn t have a
feel good ending. It will have a large amount of gore in it along with the use of obscenities. He says It
comes down to gut instinct. A true war story, if truly told makes the stomach believe (O Brien 72) in
the chapter titled How to Tell a True War Story he explains how we add things to something that
happened to help add clarity to the story or to make it better. Like when Sanders a member of his
platoon tells him a story, he wants him to believe not by facts but by feeling. So Sanders admits to
adding details to the story that were not true but made it a better story because the actual facts were

Stroop Lab Report
Animals surround the human population on a daily basis. Whether this is in the wild, a zoo, or a
household pet. Animals come in variations shapes, sizes, and colors and are generalized by
attractiveness. For example, when putting in cute animals into Google search engine pictures load of
puppies, kittens, bunnies, baby animals, and other animals deemed cute. This attribute is used in
emotional Stroop. The original Stroop test was word and color congruence and incongruence (Stroop,
1935). With this experiment many more have popped up using the general guidelines of the test to
create new Stroop tests.
One form of Stroop is an Emotional Stroop using pictures. In a study by Russell Constantine and his
colleagues, they used pictures of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kahan and Charles D. Hely in testing the valence and frequency and their role in emotional stroops.
Although this is not necessary approached on in the present experiment Kahan and Hely show that
there is an interaction between the two independent variables when choosing words for a Stroop task
with lower frequency causing more interference than higher frequencies. This could help in choosing
words to use for this particle Stroop (Kindt and Hely, 2008). The goal of the research is to determine if
the attractiveness of the animal will affect response times in naming words on a screen with an animal
blown up behind it. The question will be tested by setting up two tests one with noninterfering stimuli
and one with interference (i.e. ugly animal with the word cute centered on image). These conditions
will be timed to measure how fast the participants get through each condition. The experiment will be
done with college aged participants of Indiana University or Ivy Tech because of the heavy density in
college aged students in Bloomington, Indiana. The expected results are that it will take longer for
participants to get through the interference condition providing results that attractiveness of animal
affects reaction times for reading words.
Methods
Participants The participants in the experiment were either friends or acquaintances who were selected
based on availability at the time the data was collected. The experiment took

Speckled Band Conflict
In The Adventure of the Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes uses his
inquisitive skills to solve a mystery. Along with Sherlock is his companion, Dr. Watson, who works
with Sherlock to protect Helen Stoner from Dr. Roylott. To begin, the story takes place in April, 1883,
at the Roylott Stoke Maron Manor. Troubled, Helen Stoner explains her case in vast detail to Sherlock
and Dr. Watson. The main conflict of the story is that Helen feared for her life and was suspicious
about Julia s death on the eve of Julia s wedding. After that, Sherlock and Dr. Watson begin their
investigation at the Roylott Stoke Maron Manor.
Before setting off, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are confronted by the ruthless Dr. Roylott. Dr.
Roylott threatens Sherlock and tells him bot to investigate the case. This event is an interwoven
conflict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sherlock took account of Dr. Roylott s worn down chair, the small saucer of milk in Dr. Roylott s
room, the mysterious metal safe, as well as the bell string in Julia s room. This case was a foul play
mystery because the author led the audience to believe a variety of red herrings throughout the story.
Firstly, Helen Stoner suggested that the Gypsies outside had something to do with the death of Julia.
Additionally, Helen told Sherlock that the metal clang she heard could have been the creaking of the
timeworn building. Lastly, the fact that Dr. Roylott owned a baboon and a cheetah had nothing to do
with the death of Julia Stoner. The last mood shift of the story is happy because Helen could go in life
and marry the man she desired. Furthermore, the final tone of the story is uplifting because Helen was
relieved to be able to live without fear in her life again. Most likely, Helen would leave her current
area to marry her lover in peace. All in all, due to Sherlock, the mystery of Julia s death had been
solved and Helen Stoner would no longer live in fear

He was the Napoleon of China. At just four feet eleven inches tall. Deng Xiaoping set China on a sky

backwards state , also in the early 1980s more than 80% of China was in poverty, but two decades
later after the massive reforms of Deng Xiaoping, the poverty level drastically decreased. This
incredible task could have only been done though the outstanding leadership and policies of people

In 1978 when Deng came into official power China had greatly suffered economically. This was the
result of the orthodox socialist and communist policies implemented largely during the Cultural
Revolution. China s economic growth in the 1960s and 1970s was very slow, almost stagnant (World
Bank), this lead to the expected result of being left in the dust by many countries in Asia, such as
Japan. Also in 1978 the population of China living in a rural situation was at least 76.3% (Reuters) of
the total Chinese population, equivalent to around 743,463,800 people living in China. However when
Deng took over and put his economic policies in place, which included, but were not limited to:
opening China to foreign trade. His other economic policies eased the government control over
economics and it resulted in a large boost of economic growth, this economic growth extended even
past the time he resigned in the 1990s. For instance the GDP (Gross Domestic Product, a determiner
of the quality of life) per capita in 1978 was 154.07 billion U.S dollars (World Bank), just 30 years
later the Chinese GDP per capita in 2008 skyrocketed to 3,170 billion U.S dollars (World Bank). This
increase from 154.07 billion U.S dollars to 3,170 billion U.S dollars represents an approximate
whopping 20.57% increase in its GDP in only 30 years after Deng implemented his reforms and

In an era that has seen numerous business scandals and a need for accountability, The Speed of Trust
is a nurturing guide to build and grow trust in both our professional and personal lives. Recalling on
anecdotes and several business experiences, the author constantly reinforces the fact that there is
plenty of room for improving trust. The book provides many practical examples of how higher trust
can lead to greater speed and lower cost and vice versa. The book talks about low trust taxes and high
trust dividends. One of the example the author gives is about security issues at the airport after the
9/11 attack. He says before security had been tightened he would arrive at the airport 20 minutes
before departure and still made it on the plane.

Political Issues In Joyce Carol Oates Black Water
There are many political issues that have occured that are considered disgraceful. Some incidents pass
without a thought or opinion to say about it, while other times there is a public outcry. The death of
Mary Jo Kopechne by Senator Ted Kennedy was a public political issue that inspired Joyce Carol
Oates to write the dark grim novel Black Water . Oates s had brought attention to the incident with her
book and even included her stance on the issue throughout her writing. The Chappaquiddick incident
not only inspired the plot of the novel but also the stylistic choices that were used. Joyce Carol Oates
uses specific tone, diction, and other stylistic additions to further develop the novel. Her unique style
of writing was used because of her

Family guy, a bad influence on children?
Family guy is a dysfunctional family that lives in Quahog, Rhode Island. The parents: Peter and Lois.
The children: the oldest, Meg, the middle child, Chris and the baby is Stewie. Last but not least, the
dog Brian. This TV show exhibits crude, adult humour. There are many different opinions on this
show, many parents are ok with letting there children watch it and other refuse to do so because of the
kind of humour some parents are on edge. So is family guy a negative influence on children? I believe
it does have a negative influence on kids. To start the language they use, secondly the violence and

This is just a tiny bit of what happens in the show. This show is very negative on children and they
way they will interact with other in public. They also make fun of amputees, this can be very harmful
to the way children interact with other kids that have this kind of problem example Joe is Peter
Griffins neighbour and there is an episode that says no legs no service.
Also, this show is a very sexist show, they always make reference to women being in the kitchen and
that is all they re good at for example, in one episode peter tells Louis that making sandwiches and
babies are the only thing she is good for. This kind of behaviour shows to young children that women
are no good for anything because that is how the men on this show treat the women. There s also lots
of coarse language towards women, for example Quagmire a neighbours always has many women
over to his house for pleasurable reasons and you hear him call them names like whores, bitches, sluts
and more this foul language towards women is another bad influence. Also peter has a teenage
daughter Meg, everyone in the show is mean to her. This girl is treated very badly for example in an
episode she had sexual intercourse with a guy and a little after that the guy Brandon, broke up with
her, in another episode she has another boyfriend Luke and Louis, her mother stole

Role Of Cancer As A Genetic Disease

Prahelika Reddy
ROLE OF ONCOGENES IN CANCER RESEARCH
1. Introduction
The idea that development of cancer as a genetic disease was first postulated by Cavenee et al and
developed by Fearon and Vogelstein. According to COSMIC (Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in
Cancer) database, the current list of known somatic genetic mutations leading to cancer is 522. Genes
which undergo mutations leading to cancer can be classified into two groups Proto Oncogenes and
Tumor Suppressor genes. Proto Oncogenes are the genes that are responsible for cell proliferation i.e.
they code for the proteins that are responsible for growth of cell. Tumor Suppressor genes have an
opposite effect and code for proteins that regulate cell cycle and ... Show more content on

The first oncogene targeted anti cancerous agents are Gleevec and Herceptin. Gleevec is a small
molecule designed to target tyrosine kinase (enzymes that activate many proteins by signal
transduction cascades) encoded by bcr/abl oncogene. Herceptin is a monoclonal antibody which
interferes with the receptors responsible for activation of proteins which signal cell proliferation.
It was earlier thought that up to seven independent genetic hits are necessary for the development and
progression of a malignant cancer[Fearon ER and Vogelstein B, 1990], but recent studies suggest that
abnormal expression of only three genes might be sufficient for normal cells to convert to cancer cells
[Hahn WC et al 1999]. In one such case (H ras, hTERT, SV40LT) the cancer causing genes were all
dominant and transformed proto oncogenes. Also, in this case inactivation of a single oncogene (e.g.,
mutant ras) can result in tumor regression which implies that in some cases (e.g., mutant ras)
continuous expression of oncoproteins is functionally important, non redundant and indispensable for
sustained tumor growth despite a great number of genetic and epigenetic complexities associated with
tumor formation. This phenomena is called Oncogene Addiction and it provides a rationale for
targeted therapy. Thus, Oncogenes have attracted a great deal of interest as molecular targets for
cancer therapy in recent years.

impressions of people hastily without thought and consideration. Lee does so by revealing that Mrs.
Dubose was not necessarily as vicious as the reader first thinks. In fact she asks that Jem read to her,
and he does so every day for an entire month. However Jem continues to strongly dislike her because
she still continues to criticize him and his family; however, he persists. Despite his personal hatred for
Mrs. Dubose, Jem battles his emotions and continues going to read to her. Jem learns from Atticus that
Mrs. Dubose passed away and she had left him a camellia flower inside the candy box she gave him;
his initial reaction is one of utter confusion and he is unable to understand the reason behind her
actions because he had always believed that Mrs. Dubose disliked him. He is surprised when she

behavior was a result of withdrawals. Jem never knew this, and this information overwhelms him both

Female roles in fifth business Essay

Robertson Davies: Fifth Business
Dorothy L. Sayers states Wherever you find a great man, you will find a great mother or a great wife
standing behind him. Man is a societal construct that is structured and molded by maternal influences
and female insight. Typically one is a product of its environment, however Robertson Davies in Fifth
Business, deliberately uses female roles to display the impact that women have on the psychological
growth of a man. Davies chronologically traces the psyche of Dunstan Ramsay as he matures with the
guidance of significant female characters in his life. In Fifth Business, Robertson Davies uses the
characterization of Mrs. Ramsay, Diana ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, Diana Marfleet plays a significant role in the novel as Dunny s first meaningful and realistic
love, and a second maternal female in Dunny s life. Diana nursed Dunny back to life, after he was
nearly left to die in the war. Diana is characterized as Dunny s second mother, as she brings him back
to life, re teaches him the essentials of life, and renames him, Dunstan. Diana catalyzes Dunstan s
maturing process, as she initiated him into the world of manhood, sexually, and mentally as he began
to form his own decisions. Moreover, to complete his transformation she decides that he should
change his name to Dunstan, which mentally gives him the psychological ambition to complete and
realize his transformation into a new person in stating I liked the idea of a new name; it suggested new
freedom and new personality (Davies 90). Distinctly, being with Diana has made him think about
himself for once in life and made him realize that he loves her unconditionally, however, Dunstan
states she was too much of a mother to me. (Davies 81). This motherly attraction to Diana drives
Dunstan away from her, as he knows that their relationship could not have lasted.
Finally, throughout the novel, Mary Dempster has an impactful role in the growth of Dunstan Ramsay.
Mary teaches Dunny to disregard the moral rules of society, and to behave in a manner that is
unselfish and for the betterment of others. Dunny admires Mary

American Film and Movies from the 1950’s to Present Essay...
American Film and Movies from the 1950 s to Present
Today, American film is among the most internationally supported commodities. Financially, its
contributions are enormous: the industry is responsible for the circulation of billions of dollars each
year. Since its explosion into the new media markets during the mid twentieth century, film has
produced consistently growing numbers of viewers and critics alike. Sparking debate over the nature
of its viewing, film is now being questioned in social, political, and moral arenas for its potential
impact on an audience. Critics claim that watching films is a passive activity in which the viewer
becomes subconsciously absorbed, and creates a reliance or addiction to the medium, and thus ...

As described by Francis Couvares, films needed to be censored precisely because they arouse strong
desires and strong antipathies in an untrustworthy public. Advocates of censorship insisted that movies
directly affected behaviour, usually for ill, creating general crisis and confusion over the moral
implications of the medium. Charting movie attendance rates, for example, the WCTV (Women s
Christian Temperance Union) of the 1950s argued that youths were in a greater danger of becoming
addicted to movies than they were of becoming addicted to alcohol.
An examination of the film by decade reveals that although advocates of censorship insisted that
movies directly affected human behaviour, usually for the ill, the following fifty years of film
discourse in America was further enhanced by the blurred lines over the social and moral
accountability of the medium. The 1950s were rife with paradoxes: they were a time of prosperity and
poverty, and of freedom and discrimination. The Cold War, the civil rights movement,
suburbanization, the Beat generation, rock and roll, and the rise of television were all landmarks of the
mid century decade. Filmmakers interpreted the era s most provocative and often contradictory issues
for a mass audience; McCarthyism, optimism and pessimism about the future, women s consciousness

Quetzalcoatl The White Alien-God Essay
Who Was Quetzalcoatl, the White Alien God? How did the human race manage to pass the test of time

extraterrestrial beings willing to help us grow and prosper in their own image ? According to
numerous legends and beliefs, the White Gods came to Earth once and helped humanity develop and
prosper, by offering them knowledge in many ways. Quetzalcoatl is believed to be one of the first
white gods to visit our planet. He was one of the most important Gods from ancient Mesoamerica. He
was also known as Kukulkán to the Mayans, Gucumatz to the Quichés of Guatemala, and Ehecatl to

He is also considered the patron god of merchants, as he managed to discover corn with the help of a

planet. Also, according to Mayan paintings and sculptures, anything that arose in that period and a
good part of the structures looked like spaceships from the 21st century. Sculptures and other

according to the BC Environmental Plan Program , The best current option for manure disposal is in
application to crops as a fertilizer to provide nutrients or to improve soil conditions but it can also be
sold to the public or other farms. Odour control can easily be stopped by vegetative barriers between
the farm and it s neighbours. Farmers have to be considerate of their neighbours and attempt to lower
the odour. Again, the BC Environmental Plan Program has suggestions for solving odour problems

Manure also poses a threat for water contamination. Farmers must be sure to build their manure
storages away from water and try to keep vehicles transporting manure away water sources too.
Manure gets in the water and contaminates it. Farmers must watch out for leaks in their storage
systems and if any manure were to spill, the BCEPP instructs farmers to construct berms or other
containment measures to prevent its spread. . Other concerns people have with manure management
are air pollution and greenhouse

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime
The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time by Mark Haddon is a sad book because Christopher
goes through a lot in this book. He finds out Mother cheated on Father by Ms. Alexander, his
neighbor, telling him that his mother was very good friends (pg.60), with Mr. Shears and that meant
they had a sexual affair. Christopher always thought Mother had died of a heart attack (27), because
that s what Father had told him. Days later Christopher finds letters going to his name and were from
his mother, he first was confused because Mother had died so then he thought it could ve been to
another person (pg.99). Later on he reads other letters he finds and finds out his mother wasn t dead

All No Boy By John Okada
What does it mean to be American? Do you have to be born in the country or just hold loyalty in your
heart to the land of the free and the home of the brave ? In John Okada s novel No No Boy, these
questions are repeatedly asked, exposing the varying patriotism among the different ages of Japanese
Americans. The main character, Ichiro Yamada, struggles with trying to recover his lost American
identity while also defying his parents differing ideals. Throughout the book, he resents his parents for
convincing him to put Japan over his own homeland, by his refusal to be drafted into the Army.

Their selfish purpose for moving to America was to seek riches that they could bring back to Japan.
Once thy realized that the American Dream was merely an illusion, they still refused to appreciate the
resources and opportunities that America was realistically able to offer. Ichiro describes his contempt
concerning the older generation s trepidation to accept American culture and lifestyle. They continued
to maintain their dreams by refusing to learn how to speak or write the language of America and by
living only among their own kind and by zealously avoiding long term commitments such as the
purchase of a house (25 26). Not only do Ichiro parents personally reject the American life, but they
also attempt to isolate their children from that life as well. Ichiro s mother would not allow radio, a
record player, or any other item representing American culture, in her house. All she wanted from
America for her sons was an education, learning and knowledge which would make them better men
in Japan. To believe that she expected that such a thing was possible for her sons without their
acquiring other American tastes and habits and feelings was hardly possible and, yet, that is how it
was (205). The parents and their generation believed that the younger generation had to choose
between being Japanese or being American and not both. Ichiro s mother s approval of him stems
from whether or not she considers him to be her version of

The US department of defense defines a non lethal weapon as a discriminate weapon that is explicitly
designed and used so as to incapacitate personal or material while minimizing fatalities and undesired
damage to property and environment. (Nick Lewer) In the 21st century, we have various effective non
lethal weapons to combat and subdue riots. In order to protect rioters from their self s and others, the

Seeing how affective these projectiles could be, the police in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong
eventually made a more sophisticated wooden bullet. By the 1970s, the British brought the idea back
to England, where they replaced wood with rubber. Eventually this idea trickled down to many other
countries including the United States. These rubber bullets can be shot from a standard police
handgun. The bullet has a metal shell casing but instead of a metal bullet it is replaced by a black thick
rubber projectile. In riots, the police will attempt to aim for any area below the neck; when the bullet
hits an object it flattens out in order to cause no permanent damage. Rubber bullets travel up to 950
mph, and if hit by one of these rubber bullets a rioter will experience an extreme stinging pain. Some
people describe the pain as being hit with a baseball bat (Norman). Although not intended to be deadly
doctors warn, rubber bullets are unsafe and should never be used by authorities to control riots . But
when it comes down to controlling hostile crowds, rubber bullets are the most effective and instant
way to turn rioters away. These are just a few non lethal weapons used by police in riots all across the
United States. Non lethal weapons come in a variety of devices that can be used to subdue rioters if

Summary Of Eliza And Her Monsters
Outside Reading Book Essay: Eliza and Her Monsters Ignoring fame was my rebellion, in a funny
way. I was insistent on being normal and doing normal things. It probably wasn t advisable to go to
college in America and room with a complete stranger. And it probably wasn t wise to share a
bathroom with eight other people in a coed dorm. Looking back, that was crazy, Emma Watson. Fame
is something that consequently cannot be ignored once gained without bearing great consequences and
risk to its owner. The longer someone attempts to pretend it s not there, the further one will fall into
the trap of losing one s own reality by refusing to acknowledge fame, because it quickly becomes

Palm Oil And Heart Disease
What is the relationship between rates of consumption of palm oil and incidence of heart disease? A
huge niche in the grocery market is occupied by products designed to stay fresh for surprisingly long
periods of time, such as cookies, chips, chocolate, which have some type of vegetable oil incorporated
in them . We consume these snacks everyday, they are always in demand. Previously, sunflower oil
was one of the most popular oils to be used. It is relatively expensive, but harmless to some extent.
Not so long ago palm oil became a well known component in many market products intended for
consumption. It is ideal for baking, as well as for confectionery, especially those that are designed for
long term storage. It will improve the appearance

Economic Policy Change in Soviet Union From 1941 to 1986...
Economic Policy Change in Soviet Union From 1941 to 1986 The period 1941 1986 saw little change
in the Russian economy, although attempts were made at reform by Khrushchev, for example, with his
Virgin Lands scheme. I believe that economic policy did not change between the years 1941 1986 but
the change was often quickly reversed and change was not carried out to a great enough extent to have
any significant bearing on the development of the Russian economy. Russia was almost destroyed by
the efforts needed to sustain a war. Even though the first, second and third Five Year Plans had been
heavily concentrated on the heavy industries such as coal and steel, which proved to be ... Show more

The need for labour and troops was intense and between 1941 and 1944 the gulag population
decreased by two fifths. Able bodied men were conscripted from the collectives and women were left
to care for the farms. Grain production fell from 95 million tons in 1940 to 30 million tons in 1942.
This was a huge drop, and famine was common, particularly in the Ukraine and Siberia, where loss of
life was most severe. The more relaxed attitude of Stalin during the wars years had nurtured a belief
that life would be easier and less repressed after the war. However, this proved not to be the case. The
Fourth Five Year Plan was intended to restore Russia s pre war reputation as an industrial power.
Industrial production recovered quickly, mainly through the use of over 2 million slave labourers. The
rigid centralised economy imposed by Stalin was useful in this instance as it became easier to organise
workers and factories. The Fifth Five Year Plan was concentrated slightly more on the consumer
industries, helping to improve living conditions in Russia. The relaxation of Stalinist policy meant that
although rigid central control was retained, Party power was weakened in the countryside. When
Khrushchev came to power in 1953, he inherited the rigid centralised economy symbolic with the
Stalinist era. In 1956

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( 1756-1791 )
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 1791) is without a doubt one of the most influential composers to
have ever lived. From his piano works to his symphonies, Mozart never ceased to amaze people with
his music. He had a very exciting career that began in his childhood that involved traveling to different
cities and performing and writing music for a number of large and well respected audiences. Along
with Mozart s obviously notable works, his sacred music was also exceptionally popular at the time,
as he adopted and further adapted the sacred writing styles of composers before him. Mozart s Mass in
C minor, K427 is arguably his most well known sacred work, as it incorporates virtuosity, a large
ensemble, and is also an unfinished work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After returning from his tour of Europe, it is said that Mozart needed time to recover from the various
illnesses he had received while traveling. While in Salzburg, it is unknown whether or not Mozart
attended a school, but it is known that his father taught him much of what he knew early on in life. It
is said that his father helped him write compositions at the beginning, and by 1767 they had an
extensive list of keyboard works. Unfortunately, none of these early works for Mozart s Salzburg
childhood remain. It wasn t until 1768 that Mozart composed and premiered his first major work.
Mozart at just twelve years old wrote his first full opera La Finte Simplice, and had it premiered in
Vienna. Many opera critics realized that Mozart s early works were up to par, if not better than the
similar works written at the time. After the operas s success in Vienna, Salzburg s archbishop wanted
to showcase the native Austrian and scheduled a performance of La Finte Simplice in 1769. Since this
work is an opera buffa, special performers were brought in to correctly portray the roles and style as
Mozart wanted them to be. In 1773, Mozart decided to leave his father and his home of Salzburg to try
and further his career as a court musician and composer. In 1777, he went on another European city
tour,

Environmental And Humanitarian Issue Of Climate Change
One of the clearest and foremost environmental and humanitarian issue the world faces today is
climate change yet, you would almost not seem to know given the little attention major News
Corporations, such as ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS spend on addressing, or even acknowledging for
that matter, the issue. Just last year in 2015, all four of these major networks together spent a grand
total of 146 minutes of airtime discussing climate change. To put that into perspective, all four of
those major networks together spent less than one percent of one percent of the year talking about
climate change, or just over two hours of the year between all four major networks. To make matters
worse, not every minute of the time consuming 146 minutes between all four major news networks
that was allot to cover climate change were engaged in any serious discussion about the ramification
or future implications it will have on the very near future. There are networks that find it in their best
interest (FOX news in particular) to somehow argue against the science of climate change, to argue
against the science backed liberal conspiracy that wants to destroy the American homeland (or
something as radical as that, I m not too sure exactly what they [crazy evangelical Christian
conservatives] believe in). However, there is a bigger, more serious underlying issue here that is not
fully concerned with the media coverage that climate change unfortunately receives. The underlying
issue is perhaps why

Satire Of Shake It Up
I recognize that, even coming from a father of two preteen daughters, that headline might sound
alarmist, so let me elaborate the Disney Channel and its prime competitor, Nickelodeon s Teen Nick,

s retrograde princess films (and attendant merchandising). If the Mouse House s recent, quickly
reversed decision to beautify Brave s redheaded warrior heroine, Merida, was a sad commentary on
pop culture s continuing endorsement of ridiculous feminine ideals, that incident remains a minor blip

The Payday Loan Information System
As soon as the information for the project was given to us, as a group, we took the initiative to gather
the information as soon as possible. The play we went to gather our payday loan information was from
Approved Money Center that is located on 700 S 14th Street, Suite B Kingsville, Texas 78363. The
number to Approved Money Center is (361) 592 8300 and we spoke with Courtney Candelara,
Associate, who has been working there for a year. This is her first time working at this type of
business. She is 24 years old and is form Annaville, Texas which is located in Corpus Christi. This
was all the information we could grab at the moment because she was busy and allowed us to take a
picture of the different types of loans they offered and it contained all the information we needed.
The payday loans available include: A 14 day term payday loan. This means that the loan is repayable
after a period of 14 days. At the end of 14 days, the borrower is considered to have default on the loan
and subsequent charges come along with default. Default for less than 10 days upon the end of the 14
days incurs charges that amount to no less than 5% of the loan. If the default is more than 10 days, the
borrower will have to pay an interest amount equivalent to $7.50.

BEL722 Term Paper
Mechanical Methods of Homogenization in Proteomics
1. Introduction
Proper sample preparation is an integral part of all omics approaches, and can drastically impact the
results of a wide number of analyses. One of the key components of sample preparation is
homogenization. The term Homogenization can be understood in various aspects and some of its most
common usages can be to describe mixing and dispersing. But, in essence, the aim of homogenization
is to obtain a homogenous mixture i.e. the sample obtained has same composition throughout its total
volume.
Now, homogenization for sample preparation in proteomics can be done by the following 5 ways:
1. Mechanical methods
2. Sonication
3. Use of pressure
4. Use of Temperature
5. Osmotic and detergent lysis

This was the result of the orthodox socialist and communist policies implemented largely during the Cultural Revolution. China s economic growth in the 1960s and 1970s was very slow, almost stagnant (World Bank), this lead to the expected result of being left in the dust by many countries in Asia, such as Japan. Also in 1978 the population of China living in a rural situation was at least 76.3% (Reuters) of the total Chinese population, equivalent to around 743,463,800 people living in China. However when Deng took over and put his economic policies in place, which included, but were not limited to: opening China to foreign trade. His other economic policies eased the government control over economics and it resulted in a large boost of economic growth, this economic growth extended even past the time he resigned in the 1990s. For instance the GDP (Gross Domestic Product, a determiner of the quality of life) per capita in 1978 was 154.07 billion U.S dollars (World Bank), just 30 years later the Chinese GDP per capita in 2008 skyrocketed to 3,170 billion U.S dollars (World Bank). One of the example the author gives is about security issues at the airport after the 9/11 attack. He says before security had been tightened he would arrive at the airport 20 minutes before departure and still made it on the plane. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, this show is a very sexist show, they always make reference to women being in the kitchen and that is all they re good at for example, in one episode peter tells Louis that making sandwiches and babies are the only thing she is good for. This kind of behaviour shows to young children that women are no good for anything because that is how the men on this show treat the women. There s also lots of coarse language towards women, for example Quagmire a neighbours always has many women over to his house for pleasurable reasons and you hear him call them names like whores, bitches, sluts and more this foul language towards women is another bad influence. Introduction The idea that development of cancer as a genetic disease was first postulated by Cavenee et al and developed by Fearon and Vogelstein. According to COSMIC (Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in Cancer) database, the current list of known somatic genetic mutations leading to cancer is 522. Genes which undergo mutations leading to cancer can be classified into two groups Proto Oncogenes and Tumor Suppressor genes. Proto Oncogenes are the genes that are responsible for cell proliferation i.e. they code for the proteins that are responsible for growth of cell. Tumor Suppressor genes have an opposite effect and code for proteins that regulate cell cycle and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first oncogene targeted anti cancerous agents are Gleevec and Herceptin. Gleevec is a small molecule designed to target tyrosine kinase (enzymes that activate many proteins by signal transduction cascades) encoded by bcr/abl oncogene. Herceptin is a monoclonal antibody which interferes with the receptors responsible for activation of proteins which signal cell proliferation. It was earlier thought that up to seven independent genetic hits are necessary for the development and progression of a malignant cancer[Fearon ER and Vogelstein B, 1990], but recent studies suggest that abnormal expression of only three genes might be sufficient for normal cells to convert to cancer cells [Hahn WC et al 1999]. In one such case (H ras, hTERT, SV40LT) the cancer causing genes were all dominant and transformed proto oncogenes. Also, in this case inactivation of a single oncogene (e.g., mutant ras) can result in tumor regression which implies that in some cases (e.g., mutant ras) continuous expression of oncoproteins is functionally important, non redundant and indispensable for sustained tumor growth despite a great number of genetic and epigenetic complexities associated with tumor formation. This phenomena is called Oncogene Addiction and it provides a rationale for targeted therapy. Thus, Oncogenes have attracted a great deal of interest as molecular targets for cancer therapy in recent years. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Financially, its contributions are enormous: the industry is responsible for the circulation of billions of dollars each year. Since its explosion into the new media markets during the mid twentieth century, film has produced consistently growing numbers of viewers and critics alike. Sparking debate over the nature of its viewing, film is now being questioned in social, political, and moral arenas for its potential impact on an audience. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As described by Francis Couvares, films needed to be censored precisely because they arouse strong desires and strong antipathies in an untrustworthy public. Advocates of censorship insisted that movies directly affected behaviour, usually for ill, creating general crisis and confusion over the moral implications of the medium. Charting movie attendance rates, for example, the WCTV (Women s Christian Temperance Union) of the 1950s argued that youths were in a greater danger of becoming addicted to movies than they were of becoming addicted to alcohol. An examination of the film by decade reveals that although advocates of censorship insisted that movies directly affected human behaviour, usually for the ill, the following fifty years of film discourse in America was further enhanced by the blurred lines over the social and moral accountability of the medium. The 1950s were rife with paradoxes: they were a time of prosperity and poverty, and of freedom and discrimination. The Cold War, the civil rights movement, suburbanization, the Beat generation, rock and roll, and the rise of television were all landmarks of the mid century decade. To put that into perspective, all four of those major networks together spent less than one percent of one percent of the year talking about climate change, or just over two hours of the year between all four major networks. To make matters worse, not every minute of the time consuming 146 minutes between all four major news networks that was allot to cover climate change were engaged in any serious discussion about the ramification or future implications it will have on the very near future. There are networks that find it in their best interest (FOX news in particular) to somehow argue against the science of climate change, to argue against the science backed liberal conspiracy that wants to destroy the American homeland (or something as radical as that, I m not too sure exactly what they [crazy evangelical Christian conservatives] believe in). However, there is a bigger, more serious underlying issue here that is not fully concerned with the media coverage that climate change unfortunately receives. The underlying issue is perhaps why ... • 29. Satire Of Shake It Up I recognize that, even coming from a father of two preteen daughters, that headline might sound alarmist, so let me elaborate the Disney Channel and its prime competitor, Nickelodeon s Teen Nick, are a pox upon our tween nation, corrosive forces that impart more awful messages than any of Disney s retrograde princess films (and attendant merchandising). If the Mouse House s recent, quickly reversed decision to beautify Brave s redheaded warrior heroine, Merida, was a sad commentary on pop culture s continuing endorsement of ridiculous feminine ideals, that incident remains a minor blip compared to the loathsome lessons being taught on a daily basis, in 22 minute form, by Disney Channel sitcoms such as Shake It Up, Jesse, Wizards of Waverly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Farm and Shake It Up are showcases for stylish fashion, those designer threads often have an adult sexiness that unsuccessfully straddles the line between tasteful and trampy. Worse, that imagery is accompanied by endless strutting, hair tossing and sensual stage moves all of it performed, of course, by preternaturally tall, skinny, perfectly coiffed mini beauties. While guys are allowed to be quirky and weird looking, girls are (save for a few, random exceptions, like Raini Rodriguez on Austin Ally) uniformly cast from the same Bratz doll mold. They re singing and dancing robots designed to exude youthful, tacky sexuality that s safe and subtle (first kisses are the extent of the stories huffing and puffing) yet absolutely omnipresent. Following the lead of contemporary tween oriented pop music a link made depressingly plain, and unholy, by an episode of Victorious featuring Ke$ha the shows eroticized elements are intrinsically linked with coolness. Conveying the irresistible to girls notion that acting older than one s age is attractive and desirable, the shows function like boob tube narcotics, pushing all in good fun pleasure while silently corrupting from ... • 30. The Payday Loan Information System As soon as the information for the project was given to us, as a group, we took the initiative to gather the information as soon as possible. The play we went to gather our payday loan information was from Approved Money Center that is located on 700 S 14th Street, Suite B Kingsville, Texas 78363. The number to Approved Money Center is (361) 592 8300 and we spoke with Courtney Candelara, Associate, who has been working there for a year. This is her first time working at this type of business. She is 24 years old and is form Annaville, Texas which is located in Corpus Christi. This was all the information we could grab at the moment because she was busy and allowed us to take a picture of the different types of loans they offered and it contained all the information we needed. The payday loans available include: A 14 day term payday loan. This means that the loan is repayable after a period of 14 days. At the end of 14 days, the borrower is considered to have default on the loan and subsequent charges come along with default. Default for less than 10 days upon the end of the 14 days incurs charges that amount to no less than 5% of the loan. If the default is more than 10 days, the borrower will have to pay an interest amount equivalent to $7.50. At a bank the 14 day pay term period is also eligible to pay a fine of $30 for dishonoring the time frame set to settle payment of automated clearing house debit. Upon of a guaranteed loan, the collateral will be sold and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Advantages Of Homogenization In Proteomics Parth Garg (2011BB50032) BEL722 Term Paper Mechanical Methods of Homogenization in Proteomics 1. Introduction Proper sample preparation is an integral part of all omics approaches, and can drastically impact the results of a wide number of analyses. One of the key components of sample preparation is homogenization. The term Homogenization can be understood in various aspects and some of its most common usages can be to describe mixing and dispersing. But, in essence, the aim of homogenization is to obtain a homogenous mixture i.e. the sample obtained has same composition throughout its total volume. Now, homogenization for sample preparation in proteomics can be done by the following 5 ways: 1. Mechanical methods 2. Sonication 3. Use of pressure 4. Use of Temperature 5. Osmotic and detergent lysis Mechanical Methods Mechanical methods are generally used for hard and filamentous cells such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comparison of various mechanical methods Method Pros Cons Rotor Stator Can homogenize wide array of samples. Very homogenous end product. Initial cost is high. Different shafts for different size of samples. Shaft cleaning is difficult. Blender Easily available. Can process large samples very quickly. Easy to sterilize. Creates vortexes, which cause foaming resulting in denaturation. Simple Mortar and Pestle type Easy to use and inexpensive. Can generate very fine particles Low throughput. Contamination issues. Glass Homogenizers Inexpensive, generate fine homogenate. Easy to clean and decontaminate. Fibrous and membranes are left as it is. Low throughput and prone to breakage. Dounce Homogenizer Inexpensive, easy to clean and decontaminate. Low throughput. Solid tissue cannot be processed directly Vortexer Bead Beating Easily available in lab. No additional cost of homogenization. Multiple machine can vortex full rack of tubes Less powerful as compared to other homogenizers. Homogenization around 50% of other methods. 4. Three variables coefficient as follows: This measure of reliability is based on 199 target customers which repeated questionnaire surveys in time interval. Based on this equation =k/K 1(1 ∑Si2/ST2), to calculate Cronbach s alpha coefficients. If Alpha s value range between 0.7 and 1, this research will have a enough reliability. However, If Alpha below 0.7, this research needs to write new questionnaire surveys again. It is lack of reliability. Three variables Alpha values are 0.92, 0.90 and 0.89. Therefore, this research has a strong reliability. 2) To test fit indices of SEM models Fit index value Degree of freedom 95 Chi square(X2) 220.687 Comparative fit index (CFI) 0.975 Normed fit index (NFI) 0.92 Non normed fit index (NNFI) 0.92 Root mean square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) 0.065 Average square(AGFI) 0.813 P value 0.05 Table2:Composition of goodness fit indices in SEM model ...
