Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Dracula And Bram Stoker s...
For the past century, Walt Whitman has inspired people with his literary work by addressing his views
and expectations to the future generation. Not only was his circular connection relating the reader to
his poems, but the realistic truths and observations in these poems revealed deep confessions, which
affected the reader s personal feelings and opinions. Expanding further than American readers and
writers, Whitman had established an impact worldwide. Writers such as Oscar Wilde and Bram Stoker,
two Irishmen that know of Whitman s writings through the poet s popularity growing up as children
and young adults, had become advocates of the controversial topics Whitman wrote about. Wilde and
Stoker s writing styles differ from Whitman s: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The simplest, most natural, and strongest character I have ever met in my life , in his biographical
review (116). Throughout Wilde s literary career, reflections of Whitman can be seen by the more
philosophical pieces created by Wilde, which stray away from his typical beauty over content persona.
More specifically, Whitman like ideas can be seen in Wilde s poem Humanitad in comparison to
Whitman s Song of Myself . Humanitad begins with the contrast of the seasons of spring and winter,
but goes in depth with the contrast of the Greek Gods and the Christian God, leaving readers in
philosophical questioning about religious beliefs. Though Humanitad does remain true to Wilde s
common, beautiful writing style, there is deeper meaning to his words. Song of Myself discusses the
importance of finding one s self through observation and nature, as well as the connectivity between
all types of people in the continuous circle life makes. The writing style of Wilde s Humanitad do not
reflect Whitman s, but the topics of nature, death, and life are all the main focuses of both pieces. In
comparison, Song of Myself and Humanitad both use nature as a way to link main ideas together for
the reader. For example, Whitman uses nature in a metaphysical sense to explain his place in the
world, while Wilde uses nature as an aesthetic tool that

Essay On My Birthday
When a person´s birthday comes around does he/she ever wonder what happened on his/her birthday
before he/she was even thought of? Do they ever wonder about the special events that happened on
that day besides their birth? I was astonished to have found out how much had happened on October
19. I was born on October 19, 2000. My parents are Billy and Teresa Summerlin. I was born in
Mission Hospital on a Thursday morning. It was fifty eight degrees and it was dark outside. My doctor
was Dr. David Cobb, and he said that I was a miracle baby. I weighed four pounds and thirteen ounces
because I wasn t getting the nutrition that I needed because the umbilical cord was wrapped around
my stomach, and I couldn t breathe well. My grandmother had a gall bladder attack the same day I
was born and was also put in the hospital. My family said that I looked like a naked squirrel when I
was born. My first name, Alexis is a Greek name that means defender or helper. My last name,
Summerlin is a Scottish name that means mariner, viking, or wander. On October 19, 2012 the statue
¨Big Tex was destroyed by fire during the State Fair of Texas. Another thing that happened on my
birthday was that Henry Ford made his first radio speech in 1932. One thing that interested me the
most was in 1960, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested at an Atlanta sit in at ¨The Magnolia Room¨ On
this day, 52 protesters, including King, were arrested for violating the legislation. They were charged

Presidential Election Campaign Analysis
Four years have past and it is time for yet another presidential election. Presidential campaigning for
this election started as early as February, approximately 21 months prior to the actual Election Date.
The Republican party had originally 17 candidates, 16 of them dropped out leading Donald J. Trump
to be the Republican Nominee. The fight for the Democratic nomination was neck and neck. With
originally 6 candidates, 5 whom dropped out, lead Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic Nominee.
Alongside the Republican and Democratic nominations we have the Green Party whose candidate is
Jill Stein and Libertarian Party, Gary Johnson.

all about, which candidate best represents the issues you want to be changed (or keep.) Donald Trump
is talking about how America would be better off if we kept everyone out of it, not letting anyone
from mexico entering by building a wall. Trump thoroughly believes that this wall is how we will
make America great again. There are many people who are for trumps immigration stance, wanting to
send back any illegal immigrants to their country. However what if being failed to be noted is that
building a wall is only regressive. Building this wall with one of America s closest allies will only put
a strain in our relationship with not only Mexico, but the rest of the world. Trump wants to alienate
and attack all Mexicans legal and illegal in the United States, as opposed to Jill Stein who wants to be
able to provide for them. Stein support immigrants rights and wants to create a welcoming path to
citizenship for immigrants.Wanting to put the discrimination to an end, Stein wants to provide
everyone with equal rights and access to health care. Her platform on Health Care as a Right states,
No restrictions based on pre existing illness, employment, immigration status, age, or any other
category. Donald Trump wants to kick people out of America thinking that is how America becomes
better again, but he is wrong. Jill Stein wants to halt deportations, including the shameful practice of
night raids being used to terrorize refugee families. People come to the United States to seek help. So
why should we refuse them entry or kick them out if they re already

SAP offers front and back office software and services for rent or purchase through its mySAP.com
exchange, which hosts transactions between SAP clients and their vendors. To catch up with rivals in
this sector, SAP has launched a US subsidiary to build online marketplaces for large companies and
their suppliers. HISTORY Software engineers Hasso Plattner (co chairman and co chairman and co
CEO), Hans Werner Hector, Dietmar Hopp, and Klaus Tschira started SAP in 1972 when the project
they were working on for IBM was moved to another unit. The four agreed to write a program for
IBM customer Imperial Chemical Industries, and SAP (named for the IBM project they left Systems,
Applications, and Projects) was formed. While rival software companies made many products to
automate the various parts of a company s operations, these engineers decided to make a single system
that would tie a corporation together. In 1973 they launched an instantaneous accounting transaction
processing program called R/1. By 1981, with 200 customers already on board, they had adapted the
program to create R/2, mainframe software that linked external databases and communication
systems. The company went public in 1988. That year, Plattner began a project to create software for
the computer network market. In 1992, as sales of its R/2 mainframe

Policy In Pakistan
US policy in Pakistan largely centres around expending military aid to combat regional terrorism and
facilitate peace in Afghanistan. However, it has hardly achieved any tangible results.
The Pakistani army, which supersedes it s elected government, diverted these funds towards anti India
terror factions for covert proxy wars due to it s historic rivalry with India. These terror factions carried
out the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, attracting censure from Pakistan s civilians and international
condemnation at a time when US strategic convergence with India was growing. Simultaneous
changes in Pakistan s military leadership led to attempts to dissolve these groups, who turned on it
instead. They subsequently allied themselves with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fundamental problem was a lack of leverage : Pakistan had no interest in a peaceful Afghanistan
but the US had no other partner to turn to.
Eventually, the Pakistan army lost control over some of these terror groups, who linked up with al
Qaeda, Taliban and more recently, the Islamic State, across the porous Afghanistan border. In light of
pressure from the US and it s growing non state actors, the Pakistan military attempted to curb these
groups but failed. Consequently, these groups pledged alliance to one of al Qaeda, Taliban or the
Islamic State and amped up terror attacks within Pakistan. This reached the tipping point in December
2014, when members of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan killed 243 children in an army school. In
response, the Pakistani army killed 3500 terrorists of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan and other internal
terror factions in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) near the Afghanistan border, over the
last two years. Simultaneously, the Pakistani media blamed the US for Pakistan s thriving internal
violence and anti American sentiment amongst civilians grew.
While this was a major counter terrorism initiative, Pakistan has an episodic history of reverting to
proxy terrorism. It continues to harbour anti India terror groups, which could be refocused towards
India, once tensions with the Tehrik i Taliban subside and Pakistan could resume double crossing the
US. However,

Terry Tempest Williams Refuge Essay examples
Terry Tempest Williams Refuge
In Refuge, Terry Tempest Williams weaves together her experiences and relationships with family and
nature, two major themes of Refuge, as well as two apparently important aspect of Williams life. The
book is the story of the destruction of her family and the nature surrounding her, but it is these places
that are being destroyed are the same places where Terry Tempest Williams finds comfort before,
during and after cancer started to consume her life. I believe on the surface it is nature and family that
provides her with comfort, but in actuality, it is something beneath the surface. As a young child,
Williams was taught through the Mormon teachings to appreciate nature and family, finding God in ...

essential in helping her mother cope with cancer.
Williams family support network eased her own pains caused by witnessing her mother s and
grandmother s suffering with cancer, being a potential cancer patient herself. This support network,
which the Williams family demonstrates, gives patients release of emotions that accompany cancer.
The week after Williams mother was diagnosed with cancer, she stated, I ve experienced every
possible emotion this week (Williams 34). This build of emotion can be overwhelming for any one,
making the release of emotions critical. A study done by the American Cancer Society found that
releasing emotion is beneficial during treatment and can help patients and family members cope (ACS

place to release this emotion, which is described in Refuge. On one such occasion, Williams mother
states, I feel abused when describing chemotherapy (Williams 77). The close family connection

Seven Approaches to Studying the Human Body Essay
When studying the human body, there are seven organizational approaches. Each approach studies the
body in a different yet unique way and is used in the health care field. The approaches consist of; body
planes and directions, body cavities, quadrants and regions, anatomy and physiology, microscopic and
macroscopic, body systems and medical specialties.
There are three body planes which use different directions: coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes.
Coronal plane slices the body from head to toe giving a front and back view. There are two directions
that are related with it; anterior posterior, moving from the outside of the body through the anterior
part then the posterior section, and posterior anterior, which is its reverse. ... Show more content on

For instance, in the left lower quadrant is the lower part of the kidney, part of the colon, and the left
ovary for women. This type of diagram would help with position the organs. In the health field,
physicians refer to this during an internal exam.
According to Degreedirectory.org (1999), anatomy studies the structure of organs and cells. Since
cells are a microscopic size the best way to study, using this approach is with a microscope, which is,
a tool used to examine cells. Physiology is the study of the function of organ and cells. Organs are of a
macroscopic size that means it can be seen with the naked eye. These approaches can be used in many
ways in health care. An orthopedic would study muscles and tendons or an immunologist would study
blood cells using a microscope.
The human body is made up of several different types of systems. This means that each system is
made up of a few organs, which synchronize with one another and work as a unit. Organs are unable
to perform without the help of the other organs in their unit. All of the organs support one another to
perform their functions.
The gastrointestinal system breaks down the foods we eat into protein, vitamins, fats and
carbohydrates, which is used for energy, growth and repair. The organs in the respiratory system are
the nose, trachea and lungs. These organs help bring air into the body and eliminate the

The Center Of Philadelphi The Tower Of Terror
If you have ever been to Philly, you have probably passed it at one time an old abandoned building,
which at one time was the center of Philadelphia attention. I have travelled through Philadelphia many
times and have passed this impressive Victorian style building. Despite its abandoned and rundown
appearance, I have always said that this building had so much beauty and potential. The outside of the
building has intricate arching and architecture, and has eye catching brick and stone detailing. Driving
down Broad Street, going from North Philly towards the center of downtown, my eyes always drifted
to the left to stare at this building a structure somewhat resembling the Tower of Terror from Disney
World. After passing this building various times, my mind began to question if this building was at
one time a well kept and prosperous place. As I passed this building once more, I took note of the
rickety sign that sits on top of the building that reads Divine Lorraine Hotel . I began research on the
hotel and had never envisioned the history which stands behind that old desolate building. At one
time, the Divine Lorraine Hotel was the place to live in Philadelphia. Broad Street was a populated
and flourishing area in the city. So what is the history behind this building and what ever happened to
the Divine Lorraine Hotel? The hotel of striking architecture, through years of history, fell to shambles
after being one of the most successful hotels in Philadelphia.

Angels Are Creatures With Wings
Introduction: Angels are creatures created by Allah (swt) and they are in paradise (jannah). Angels are
creatures with wings that worship Allah (swt) only, AllaH (swt) said in the Qur an: Praise be to Allah,
the Originator of the Heavens and the Earth, the creator of angels having wings two, three and four.
(Qur an 35:1). It is not mentioned in the qur an when the Angels were created nobody knows and
Angels were created centuries ago even before human Allah (swt) mentions this in the Qur an: Behold,
thy Lord said to the angels: I will create a vicegerent on earth. They said: Wilt Thou place therein one
who will make mischief therein and shed blood, whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy

and Day: they do not halt. (Qur an 21:19 20) and They are honoured servants, who do not precede
Him in speech, and they act according to His command. He knows what is ahead of them, and they do

DNA Chip
DNA Chip Genetic Testing of the Future
Many, if not most diseases, have their roots in our genes. Genes, through the proteins they encode,
determine how efficiently we process foods, how effectively we detoxify poisons, and how vigorously
we respond to infections. In the past 20 years, amazing new techniques have allowed scientists to
learn a great deal about how genes work and how they are linked to disease. This rapid pace of
discovery of genetic factors, responsible for certain diseases, has allowed scientists to genetically test
asymptomatic individuals and predict their risk of certain diseases. In this paper, I am going to discuss
the following areas pertaining to the topic of genetic testing:
The definition and purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information from genetic tests can help provide people and families with answers to their
questions: why did this happen to my child or why do I have to suffer from this disease? Genetic tests
also provide scientists with information regarding disease pathogenesis. For instance, by studying the
genetic makeup of individuals with breast cancer, scientists can find out what particular mutation in
the DNA, or in several genes, is causing the cancer and use that to screen high risk individuals.
Researchers are also taking advantage of genetic tests to find gene mutations that make bacteria or
viruses resistant to drugs.
Screening Techniques
The immediate challenge in genetic testing is being able to design an effective mutation analysis
method that offers a rapid, accurate, cost effective, and user friendly test for scanning several
susceptibility genes at once. According to the article in Nature Biotechnology, by Charis Eng and Jan
Viig, genetic testing techniques are grouped into two main categories: screening and scanning.
Screening methods involve probing specific genes for previously identified mutations. These methods,
however, are unrealistic for such diseases which are characterized by a large number of disease
causing mutations that can be virtually anywhere in the gene s coding region or regulatory region (3).
For example, in breast cancer, mutations can be found anywhere within the large

I loved this essay. It was beautifully written, and the voice and reading of it was equally as majestic.
Each time I finished, I felt fuller, enriched. C.S. Peirce s four methods for arriving at beliefs are
tenacity, authority, a priori, and the scientific method. Tenacity reminded me of The Tao of Poo. This
method is the one I most respect. It has a sort of je ne sais quoi, that alludes to an idea that ignorance
is bliss, yet elite among the masses, and therefore perfected by those that use it for the betterment of
society. There is humility amidst this quality and it reveals a design of humanity in the power of
learning and the potential value of embracing many points of view, albeit the tenacity method seems to
not see the forest for the trees or budge from it s idealistic approach. By habit the tenacity method is
sort of like an ambivalent teenager. Authority is the ultimate battalion captain assessing matters from a
perspective of order and rigid reform and manufacturing a powerful sway over the masses. It seems to
be captivated in power trips and self centered control, totally oblivious to the bigger picture of reality

I found it refreshing to understand what Peirce meant by being tormented about succumbing to other s
propositions. Rebellion was the way in which I handled bullying authority figures in my life; if they
were unwilling or incapable of coping with my questioning and probing of whys , I rebelled. Because
I did not want to be micromanaged by someone that was not equipped to handle the direction I was
most interested in pursuing, I left home very young, on my own in a different country at 14 and paying

Older Workers Stereotypes
The global workforce is aging. Despite research largely showing no performance differences between
older and younger employees, or that older workers even outperform younger employees,
discrimination against older workers can be evident (Malinen Johnston, 2013). First we have to define
older workers. Opinions differ as to when workers cross the bridge from middle age. Professional
football players grow old in their 30s; air traffic controllers face mandatory retirement at 56, pilots at
65 and federal law enforcement officers at 57(Grossman, 2008). Although many positive stereotypes
of older workers exist (e.g., they are dependable and loyal to organizations), numerous negative
beliefs are also evident. For example, older workers are commonly

The Kidnappinging Of The Lindbergh And The Kidnappings
March 1, 1932 just after 10:00 pm Betty Gow, a nursemaid for the notorious Lindbergh family,
approached Anne Lindebergh asking if she had taken the baby from his nursery room. Moments later
it was discovered that the baby had been kidnapped directly from the second story of the Lindbergh s
home and a ransom note for 50,000 dollars left on the windowsill. News Fig. 1 traveled fast and soon
Newspapers alike were reporting on the kidnapping on the Lindbergh s infant child(Fig1) where the
only evidence left was the ransom note, the ladder, a chisel, and the absence of the child. All hope
seemed lost when even after the ransom was paid the infant came up dead in the woods not far from
the home with few evidence leading to who might have done this terrible act, but little did they know
the evidence found was just enough to catch the kidnapper. On September, 1934 Bruno Richard
Hauptmann, a carpenter from the Bronx, was discovered using a ten dollar gold note ransom bill to
pay for gas linking him directly to the crime. Following the Incarceration police found $14,000 of the
Lindbergh s money stashed in the suspect garage and various other evidence linking him to the

The Big Bang Theory By Sheldon Cooper

I will be analyzing The Big Bang Theory, a popular TV show which features the lives of four gifted
scientists working at Caltech. I will be analyzing the communication issues that Sheldon Cooper, a
revered physicist faces on a day to day basis. It is safe to say that every character has been frustrated
with Sheldon at one point or another mainly down to his style of communication. Being extremely
gifted and unexposed to various groups of people, Sheldon s communication style has been a difficult
one for friends and strangers to get used to. Sheldon isn t rude or difficult to deal with on purpose. It is
due to his lack of experience with human interaction in different scenarios that makes him socially

This shows that Sheldon is not constructing his dispositions on cold hard facts, but rather because he
feels superior through the groups he belongs to. On countless occasions Sheldon can be caught
making fun of his friend Howard who is an engineer from MIT, Penny who is a simple waitress at the
Cheesecake Factory and other colleagues from his workplace. However, upon meeting Amy, Sheldon
begins to transition from his predisposed mindset to a more accepting one. This can be attributed to
Sheldon altering his spiritual self and finally knocking down barriers that were due to association by
similarity (Adler, 6). At first, Sheldon only wanted to communicate with people like himself because
his attitudes reflected that anyone unlike him was unworthy. However, through interacting with Amy,
her influence of biology (which he previously determined as a worthless field) accompanied by her
choice of friends (Bernadette and Penny) creates a major impact on Sheldon. He becomes able to
speak with people unlike himself and portray respect for their field, even if deep down he doesn t care.
Being able to present a social self that displays respect even if your beliefs are different shows that
you are in control of your communication and dialogue. That may seem like very little progress

Analysis Of Howard Gardner s Theory Of Multiple...
Scholar Howard Gardner is famous for developing a pedagogical theory detailing seven different ways
that humans learn about the world around them. All human beings are different. We all learn
knowledge and use our educations in a variety of ways. One flaw found in the educational system is
that it doesn t always recognize different learning styles and instead teaches students using limited
methods. According to Gardner s theory, this is a problem that needs to be fixed. He details seven
different types of intelligence to show the various ways human beings learn. Howard Gardner says

Business Combinations
Business Combination Amendments
November 29, 2008
Introduction There have recently been a number of significant accounting changes due to FASB and
the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) making modifications for the accounting
treatment of business combinations in SFAS 141(R) and IFRS 3. Business combinations have
implemented the newly created accounting treatment called the acquisition method. It will replace of
the current purchase method strategy effective January 1, 2011. The major changes in the acquisition
method involve variations to fair value measurement, goodwill recognition, and non controlling
interests.
Purchase method The purchase method was recommended for all business combinations ... Show

A requirement of this method is that the acquirer must be clearly identified in every business
consolidation. Below are several key component changes in the acquisition method:
Fair Market Value treatment Measurement of the subsidiary s net identifiable assts is based on the fair
value of the subsidiary as a whole, rather than based on the cost of purchase at the acquisition date.
The acquisition date is the closing date that the purchaser obtains control of the acquired business. For
example, the parent will still have full control of the entire subsidiary even if they purchased less than
100% of the net identifiable assets. The parent includes the full fair value of the subsidiary in the
consolidated financial statements and then allocates to the non controlling interest. The key difference
between the purchase method and the acquisition method is that in the acquisition method, all of the
FMV increment and all of the goodwill is recognized, including the portion attributable to the non
controlling interest.
The justification behind this idea is that a business in control of another entity should be able to fully
control all of their assets and

Essay On Food Waste
The everyday American on average wastes an astonishing twenty pounds of food each month
(Gunders). Food waste is defined, as food that was intended for human consumption but was never
eaten. Food waste in America is a massive problem; perfectly edible food is spoiled and discarded at
every section of the food supply chain, which causes severe consequences for the environment and the
economy. If Americans wasted 5% less food, the country as a whole would save fifty million dollars
yearly (Hall). Not only would reducing food waste help save money but also it would immensely help
climate change, as decomposing food in landfills creates methane gas. CO2 is known as the main
culprit of climate change however; although methane gas is less talked ... Show more content on

Besides the growing shortage of field workers in America, false food scares is another problem that
leaves ready to pick fruits and vegetables on the plant. A food scare is when a contamination spreads,
the public is informed, and thus stays away from purchasing that particular infected plant. For
example, in 2008 a warning was issued by the Food and Drug Administration of possible salmonella
contamination in tomatoes. The warning was eventually discovered to be unfounded, but in the
meantime it created a negative perception among consumers and decreased overall demand. As a
result, some 32 percent of total U.S. tomato acreage went un harvested (Gunders). Food scares similar
to the tomato crisis are not uncommon; with the rise of social media, information about food scares
spreads faster (Desmarchelier, Fang). These food scares are not only waste food but they also are bad
for the economy. As a result of food scares, companies experience costly consequences, their stock
may fall, and perhaps they will have to pay a fine, in addition to having to purchase ads to regain their
base s trust (Duggan). For large food companies it is a simple annoyance to regain the consumer s
trust, however for small businesses or farms it can drive them bankrupt.
Unavoidable losses happen and farming can be a risky industry because of natural disasters such as;

swinging three bats in the on deck circle. The reaction to him doing so indicates that he
may have been one of the first players to ever swing multiple bats in the on deck circle.
He showed determination and character in his first major league at bat, driving a two

The rest of his rookie season did not go as smoothly for Cobb, however. The very next
day he slid head first into second base, only to have Kid Elberfeld, the Highlander second

was the last time Cobb slid head first into a base. Cobb had consistency problems with

Finding Dory In Disney Pixar
Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would be reprising her role as the charming yet forgetful fish
Dory in Disney Pixar s Finding Dory animated film, and if there s one thing DeGeneres wants fans to
learn when watching the long awaited sequel to Finding Nemo, then it would have to be the
importance of ocean preservation and valuing the creatures that live in it.
This was what DeGeneres discussed when talking to Yahoo! Movies during the D23 Exposition event
held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
I think that fish should be in the ocean. It s what this whole sequel is about: It s about rehabilitation
and putting them back in the ocean ... And we have to protect our oceans. Hopefully that discussion

Despite his initial dislike of Dory, Marlin soon grows to appreciate Dory s friendship and the two
make fantastic strides in finding Nemo. In the sequel, the story will focus on Dory and her family as
the forgetful fish struggles to find her roots.
Dory is searching for her parents she realizes she has parents and comes across some characters who
are somewhat helpful, DeGeneres shared.
Some of these characters include Bailey the beluga whale, to be voiced by Modern Family star Ty
Burrell, an angry octopus named Hank voiced by another Modern Family star Ed O Neill. Then there
is a kind hearted whale shark named Destiny, who is the adopted sister of Dory, and she will be voiced
by It s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actress Kaitlin Olson.
Meanwhile, Nemo and his dad Marlin, voiced by Albert Brooks will also return in the sequel, and
other stars who will lend their voices in the animated film include Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, and
Idris Elba.
It has been 13 years since Finding Nemo hit theaters, but DeGeneres admitted that the hype
surrounding the movie still has not died down, with several of her friends often requesting that the talk

Why have you chosen to apply to the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business? What are your short and
long term career objectives? How will the program assist you in pursuing your career objectives?
Since deciding to attend law school, I have sought a position at a large company where I could utilize
my education and work ethic to build a career. Additionally, I have looked for an environment that
would allow me to continue to develop both personally and professionally. In working as an attorney
for the past two years, I have found a great interest in the field of taxation. Though approaching
taxation from a legal perspective has exposed me to a variety of tax issues, I have realized that my
interest lies in the numbers behind the taxes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his basis for claiming abuse. In order to address the issue, I explained to the client the consequences,
both legal and moral, to making false claims. I also reminded him of the philosophy that we agreed to
at the start of the representation. The client said that he understood but thought that making the claim
would be the only way to gain custody of his child. When I explained the other, more ethical options
available, he insisted that he continue with the claim. At that point, I informed him that I would have
to end my representation and that he would have to seek the assistance of another attorney. Although I
was able to terminate the representation without violating any of my ethical obligations, the situation
taught me some important lessons that I utilized later in my career. Primarily, I learned that potential
issues could be identified early and addressed before they escalated. In this case, the requests being
made by the client should have been an indication of his overall intention to conduct the divorce in an
unnecessarily aggressive manner not conducive to the health of himself and his family. When issues
are taken care of promptly, their magnitude is reduced and their impact on the relationship is

Observation Of The Environment In A Preschool Classroom
Classrooms environments are very important at the time of learning. According to our textbook, the
environment is viewed as an established behavioral place that forms how we act and behave (Vukelich
Christie, 2016). The environment in the classroom I visited was adequate for learning because it has
all the things a preschool classroom has to have according to the textbook. The classroom has a
bulleting board, a dramatic play center, a writing center, tables for manipulative and games, whole
group meeting area, a computer area and an art area. There was also on a wall a picture of every single
child with his and her names. My visit was from 10:30 to 12:30. When I first arrived, children were in
a transition from one activity to another. The next activity was to watch an ABC phonics video. All the
children knew what they have to do. They had to sit nicely and quiet on the floor. Every single child
knew how to sit. They crossed their legs and put their hands in their laps. When the teacher saw that
all the children were sitting properly, she assumed that they were ready to learn. During this activity I
observed that Matthew and Jose were not engaged with this activity because they were looking to
other children instead to look to the screen. For the next activity the children had to take a tablet from
a cabinet. I was surprise because every single child knew the number of the tablet they have to take.
Later I noticed that it was because in the classroom every child has a

removal of poisonous bacteria, directly aids the lymphatic system to work more efficiently in its fight
against illness.
Surya Namaskara, when done correctly, accentuates the exchange of air to and from the lungs, opens

A Gap of Sky
English essay A Gap of Sky
Amalie Thomsen
Introduction:
The title of the short story is A Gap of Sky and is written by Anna Hope in 2008. Anna Hope is an
English actress and writer. She is from Manchester and was educated at Wadham College, Oxford.
The short story is fiction, but could still take place in real life. The main theme is identity formation.
Analysis:
The story is written with a 3rd persons view: Ellie reaches a hand out [...] She takes the glass,
stumbles forward... The narrator therefor has an omniscient point of view, and knows everything about
the main character, Ellie.
Characters:
In the story we have the main character, Ellie, her friend Toby (who we do not meet, but hear about)
and the mother (we do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How the fuck did she manage to sleep for so long?
The negative words have great influence on how the reader understands and interprets the story. The
MILJØ becomes very dark, and the whole short story is read in another way than it would have been
otherwise.
Theme/Message:
As I wrote in the introduction, the main theme is identity formation. Ellie is a lost teenager who lives
her life on coke and other narcotics. She has some problems with her parents, and she blames them for
everything: To whom? To what? To why? To God? To Mum? To Dad? Not then especially not them. It
was their fault she was doing this bloody course in the first place.
When she suddenly finds the stone she is reminded of her mothers love, and she starts to think about
life and her parents. Especially her mothers love is a thing she realizes she has taken for granted. Ellie
suddenly sees everything, life, in a new perspective: It is filled with people, and everyone, everyone
Ellie sees has the same substance within them, around them, connecting them, looping between them
in great bonds of love.
The title A Gap of Sky is specifically chosen and also appears in the story itself: [...] a gap of sky to
her right, an emptiness, a vacancy that she doesn t remember seeing before, something destroyed, or
being built [...] In this beautifully written piece of the story, Ellie discovers she is missing something
in her life. Conclusion
Ellie er blevet voksen og opdager, at hun har taget

Movie Like Ghostbusters And Harry Potter Essay
Growing up it is common to come across some kind of superhero that completely fascinates us, not
only do we try to mimic their appearance but also the high moral standards they live by. This can
range from only fighting evil, always being polite to the most important factor, consistently saving the
day. Now this action does not have an age limit, superhero fanatics range from all ages, shapes and
sizes this is shown to be true every Halloween and of course comic con. Among today s society the
fixation over an extraordinary human overcoming all adversities and obstacles for the simple purpose
of defending human kind has begun to increase over the years. Films like Ghostbusters and Harry
Potter to name a few reflect just that, this concept is known as the hero myth. Overshadowing an
indirect correlation to society with the use of the hero myth further projects the tangent the public
creates when confronted with unexplainable evils of their own.
Superheros, we are constantly seeing different variation of them on the big screen, but the concept
hero myth brings them all together. Now what exactly is the Hero Myth , In the book Sings of Life in
the USA by Sonia Massik and Jack Solomon, a women by the name of Linda Seger provides the
infamous concept of the hero myth. In the section Creating the Myth , she explains what Hero Myth

Factors Affecting The Development Of A Corporation Essay
There are many factors that play a role in the development of a corporation. One being its initial raise
of funds. Weather it s through investors, lenders, stocks or bonds corporations must somehow find a
way to increase their revenue. A firm that raises capital through lenders or investors must first
convince potential investors of its profitability. They do this by releasing valuable information about
their finances through a series of lengthy financial statements. Due to the Securities Exchange
Commission (SEC) disclosure Laws and Regulations companies, that are publicly owned, are required
to disclose detailed information about their financial condition, operating results, management
compensation, and other areas of their business to all potential investors. Doing so reduces the cost
investors receive while collecting company information. Although these disclosure obligations are
primarily linked with large publicly traded companies, many smaller companies choose to raise capital
by making shares in the company available to investors. (1) These financial statements are also
displayed in the form of a business plan. Through the use of income statements and balance sheets
corporations are able to successfully record their financial flow. An income statement also known as
the statement of revenue and expenses reports a company s financial performance over a specific
accounting period. Corporations use this to provide investors with information about their revenue
costs

The Discovery Of X Rays
X rays is one of the many discoveries that revolutionized the way the humanity functions
technologically, economically and socially in a fast changing world. This invention was thanks to Dr.
Rontgen. His invention changed the medical and astronomy field drastically and therefore he was
awarded the first Nobel prize in physics. He was awarded this incredible and highly valued award in
the year 1901 after producing, detecting and then discovering these high frequency wavelengths
produced by electromagnetic radiation. This Physicist and scientist later to be recognized as doctor
gave the world the gift of this amazing, invisible and powerful rays that would change the world for
ever. Willhelm Conrad Rontgen was born in March 27 on the year 1845, at Lennep, in the big city of
Remscheid which is located in Germany. He was an only child. His father was a merchant who sold
and manufactured cloth. His mother, Charlotte, came from family in Amsterdam. When he was very
young his family and him moved to the Netherlands. There he assisted the Martinus Herman van
Doorn institute, which was a school. A few years later he entered another school at Utrecht but was
unfairly expelled. As he got older Dr. Rontgen studied at ETH Zurich which was Sencherman 2. also
known as the Federal Polytechnic institute in Zurich. He started his career as a mechanical engineer.

Essay On Intracellular Trafficking
Research Strategy
A. Significance
Intracellular trafficking is an essential cellular communication process in which membrane vesicles
carrying lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids are taken up and transported through endosomes to
lysosomes (termed endocytosis) and vesicles carrying macromolecules are delivered to the plasma
membrane and outside of the cell (exocytosis) {Oka, 2005 #5437}. Uptake of external particles
through endocytosis is required for prolific growth and differentiation. For example, uptake of
transferrin provides iron necessary for growth and parasitism of the parasite Plasmodium falciparum

and serotonin exemplifies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By sharing only the N terminal EH domains and CC region with ITSN1 plus a proline rich (PR)
region, Pan1 has a role in endocytosis and the organization of cortical actin through interactions with
additional partner proteins, including EH proteins Ede1 and End3 {Wendland, 1998 #5492;Huang,
2007 #5510;Miliaras, 2004 #5491}. Pan1 homologs were identified from Candida species and
Magnaporthe oryzae (Mo), but not Cn, indicating that Pan1 mediated endocytic trafficking is not
universal among fungi ({Martin, 2007 #5481}, ZG Zhang and P Wang, unpublished data).
Cn is an encapsulated basidiomycetous fungus infecting both immunocompromised and healthy
individuals causing life threatening meningoencephalitis {Mitchell, 1995 #878}. It produces virulence
factors including melanin, the polysaccharide capsule, and extracellular ureases and phospholipases
{Kozel, 1995 #1696;Buchanan, 1998 #2608;engeler, 2000 #3148}. Previous studies showed that
secretory transport is important in virulence {Rodrigues, 2009 #5368;Jesus, 2009 #5368} and that Cn
contains proteins with a conserved function in exocytosis, such as Sav1, Sec6, and Sec14 {Yoneda,
2006 #5408;Panepinto, 2009 #5385;Chayakulkeeree, 2011 #5686}. We identified cryptococcal

The BRIDGE trial, conducted by Douketis and associates,1 was a randomized, multicenter, double
blind, placebo controlled trial that questioned the need for anticoagulation bridging in patients with
atrial fibrillation, who are undergoing an invasive procedure that requires interruption of warfarin
therapy. The primary efficacy outcome was arterial thromboembolism, which includes stroke,
transient ischemic attack, and systemic embolism, whereas the secondary efficacy outcomes were
acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and death. The primary and
secondary safety outcomes were major and minor bleeding, respectively. Patients eligible for this trial
must have been 18 years or older, had chronic atrial fibrillation or flutter, been on warfarin therapy for
at least 3 months, had an international normalized ratio (INR) of 2.0 to 3.0, were undergoing an

  • 2. Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Dracula And Bram Stoker s... For the past century, Walt Whitman has inspired people with his literary work by addressing his views and expectations to the future generation. Not only was his circular connection relating the reader to his poems, but the realistic truths and observations in these poems revealed deep confessions, which affected the reader s personal feelings and opinions. Expanding further than American readers and writers, Whitman had established an impact worldwide. Writers such as Oscar Wilde and Bram Stoker, two Irishmen that know of Whitman s writings through the poet s popularity growing up as children and young adults, had become advocates of the controversial topics Whitman wrote about. Wilde and Stoker s writing styles differ from Whitman s: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The simplest, most natural, and strongest character I have ever met in my life , in his biographical review (116). Throughout Wilde s literary career, reflections of Whitman can be seen by the more philosophical pieces created by Wilde, which stray away from his typical beauty over content persona. More specifically, Whitman like ideas can be seen in Wilde s poem Humanitad in comparison to Whitman s Song of Myself . Humanitad begins with the contrast of the seasons of spring and winter, but goes in depth with the contrast of the Greek Gods and the Christian God, leaving readers in philosophical questioning about religious beliefs. Though Humanitad does remain true to Wilde s common, beautiful writing style, there is deeper meaning to his words. Song of Myself discusses the importance of finding one s self through observation and nature, as well as the connectivity between all types of people in the continuous circle life makes. The writing style of Wilde s Humanitad do not reflect Whitman s, but the topics of nature, death, and life are all the main focuses of both pieces. In comparison, Song of Myself and Humanitad both use nature as a way to link main ideas together for the reader. For example, Whitman uses nature in a metaphysical sense to explain his place in the world, while Wilde uses nature as an aesthetic tool that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay On My Birthday When a person´s birthday comes around does he/she ever wonder what happened on his/her birthday before he/she was even thought of? Do they ever wonder about the special events that happened on that day besides their birth? I was astonished to have found out how much had happened on October 19. I was born on October 19, 2000. My parents are Billy and Teresa Summerlin. I was born in Mission Hospital on a Thursday morning. It was fifty eight degrees and it was dark outside. My doctor was Dr. David Cobb, and he said that I was a miracle baby. I weighed four pounds and thirteen ounces because I wasn t getting the nutrition that I needed because the umbilical cord was wrapped around my stomach, and I couldn t breathe well. My grandmother had a gall bladder attack the same day I was born and was also put in the hospital. My family said that I looked like a naked squirrel when I was born. My first name, Alexis is a Greek name that means defender or helper. My last name, Summerlin is a Scottish name that means mariner, viking, or wander. On October 19, 2012 the statue ¨Big Tex was destroyed by fire during the State Fair of Texas. Another thing that happened on my birthday was that Henry Ford made his first radio speech in 1932. One thing that interested me the most was in 1960, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested at an Atlanta sit in at ¨The Magnolia Room¨ On this day, 52 protesters, including King, were arrested for violating the legislation. • 4. Presidential Election Campaign Analysis Four years have past and it is time for yet another presidential election. Presidential campaigning for this election started as early as February, approximately 21 months prior to the actual Election Date. The Republican party had originally 17 candidates, 16 of them dropped out leading Donald J. Trump to be the Republican Nominee. The fight for the Democratic nomination was neck and neck. With originally 6 candidates, 5 whom dropped out, lead Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic Nominee. It s all about, which candidate best represents the issues you want to be changed (or keep.) Donald Trump is talking about how America would be better off if we kept everyone out of it, not letting anyone from mexico entering by building a wall. Trump thoroughly believes that this wall is how we will make America great again. There are many people who are for trumps immigration stance, wanting to send back any illegal immigrants to their country. However what if being failed to be noted is that building a wall is only regressive. Building this wall with one of America s closest allies will only put a strain in our relationship with not only Mexico, but the rest of the world. Trump wants to alienate and attack all Mexicans legal and illegal in the United States, as opposed to Jill Stein who wants to be able to provide for them. Stein support immigrants rights and wants to create a welcoming path to citizenship for immigrants.Wanting to put the discrimination to an end, Stein wants to provide everyone with equal rights and access to health care. Her platform on Health Care as a Right states, No restrictions based on pre existing illness, employment, immigration status, age, or any other category. Donald Trump wants to kick people out of America thinking that is how America becomes better again, but he is wrong. SAP offers front and back office software and services for rent or purchase through its mySAP.com exchange, which hosts transactions between SAP clients and their vendors. To catch up with rivals in this sector, SAP has launched a US subsidiary to build online marketplaces for large companies and their suppliers. HISTORY Software engineers Hasso Plattner (co chairman and co chairman and co CEO), Hans Werner Hector, Dietmar Hopp, and Klaus Tschira started SAP in 1972 when the project they were working on for IBM was moved to another unit. The four agreed to write a program for IBM customer Imperial Chemical Industries, and SAP (named for the IBM project they left Systems, Applications, and Projects) was formed. While rival software companies made many products to automate the various parts of a company s operations, these engineers decided to make a single system that would tie a corporation together. In 1973 they launched an instantaneous accounting transaction processing program called R/1. By 1981, with 200 customers already on board, they had adapted the program to create R/2, mainframe software that linked external databases and communication systems. The company went public in 1988. • 6. Policy In Pakistan US policy in Pakistan largely centres around expending military aid to combat regional terrorism and facilitate peace in Afghanistan. However, it has hardly achieved any tangible results. The Pakistani army, which supersedes it s elected government, diverted these funds towards anti India terror factions for covert proxy wars due to it s historic rivalry with India. These terror factions carried out the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, attracting censure from Pakistan s civilians and international condemnation at a time when US strategic convergence with India was growing. Simultaneous changes in Pakistan s military leadership led to attempts to dissolve these groups, who turned on it instead. They subsequently allied themselves with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fundamental problem was a lack of leverage : Pakistan had no interest in a peaceful Afghanistan but the US had no other partner to turn to. Eventually, the Pakistan army lost control over some of these terror groups, who linked up with al Qaeda, Taliban and more recently, the Islamic State, across the porous Afghanistan border. In light of pressure from the US and it s growing non state actors, the Pakistan military attempted to curb these groups but failed. Consequently, these groups pledged alliance to one of al Qaeda, Taliban or the Islamic State and amped up terror attacks within Pakistan. This reached the tipping point in December 2014, when members of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan killed 243 children in an army school. In response, the Pakistani army killed 3500 terrorists of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan and other internal terror factions in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) near the Afghanistan border, over the last two years. Simultaneously, the Pakistani media blamed the US for Pakistan s thriving internal violence and anti American sentiment amongst civilians grew. While this was a major counter terrorism initiative, Pakistan has an episodic history of reverting to proxy terrorism. It continues to harbour anti India terror groups, which could be refocused towards India, once tensions with the Tehrik i Taliban subside and Pakistan could resume double crossing the US. There are three body planes which use different directions: coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes. Coronal plane slices the body from head to toe giving a front and back view. I have travelled through Philadelphia many times and have passed this impressive Victorian style building. Despite its abandoned and rundown appearance, I have always said that this building had so much beauty and potential. The outside of the building has intricate arching and architecture, and has eye catching brick and stone detailing. Driving down Broad Street, going from North Philly towards the center of downtown, my eyes always drifted to the left to stare at this building a structure somewhat resembling the Tower of Terror from Disney World. After passing this building various times, my mind began to question if this building was at one time a well kept and prosperous place. As I passed this building once more, I took note of the rickety sign that sits on top of the building that reads Divine Lorraine Hotel . I began research on the hotel and had never envisioned the history which stands behind that old desolate building. At one time, the Divine Lorraine Hotel was the place to live in Philadelphia. Genes, through the proteins they encode, determine how efficiently we process foods, how effectively we detoxify poisons, and how vigorously we respond to infections. In the past 20 years, amazing new techniques have allowed scientists to learn a great deal about how genes work and how they are linked to disease. This rapid pace of discovery of genetic factors, responsible for certain diseases, has allowed scientists to genetically test asymptomatic individuals and predict their risk of certain diseases. The information from genetic tests can help provide people and families with answers to their questions: why did this happen to my child or why do I have to suffer from this disease? Genetic tests also provide scientists with information regarding disease pathogenesis. For instance, by studying the genetic makeup of individuals with breast cancer, scientists can find out what particular mutation in the DNA, or in several genes, is causing the cancer and use that to screen high risk individuals. Researchers are also taking advantage of genetic tests to find gene mutations that make bacteria or viruses resistant to drugs. Screening Techniques The immediate challenge in genetic testing is being able to design an effective mutation analysis method that offers a rapid, accurate, cost effective, and user friendly test for scanning several susceptibility genes at once. According to the article in Nature Biotechnology, by Charis Eng and Jan Viig, genetic testing techniques are grouped into two main categories: screening and scanning. Screening methods involve probing specific genes for previously identified mutations. These methods, however, are unrealistic for such diseases which are characterized by a large number of disease causing mutations that can be virtually anywhere in the gene s coding region or regulatory region (3). Created by Faye Lynn on Sep 13, 2015 11:58 PM Subscribe Previous Next I loved this essay. It was beautifully written, and the voice and reading of it was equally as majestic. Each time I finished, I felt fuller, enriched. C.S. Peirce s four methods for arriving at beliefs are tenacity, authority, a priori, and the scientific method. Tenacity reminded me of The Tao of Poo. This method is the one I most respect. It has a sort of je ne sais quoi, that alludes to an idea that ignorance is bliss, yet elite among the masses, and therefore perfected by those that use it for the betterment of society. There is humility amidst this quality and it reveals a design of humanity in the power of learning and the potential value of embracing many points of view, albeit the tenacity method seems to not see the forest for the trees or budge from it s idealistic approach. By habit the tenacity method is sort of like an ambivalent teenager. Authority is the ultimate battalion captain assessing matters from a perspective of order and rigid reform and manufacturing a powerful sway over the masses. Below are several key component changes in the acquisition method: Fair Market Value treatment Measurement of the subsidiary s net identifiable assts is based on the fair value of the subsidiary as a whole, rather than based on the cost of purchase at the acquisition date. The acquisition date is the closing date that the purchaser obtains control of the acquired business. For example, the parent will still have full control of the entire subsidiary even if they purchased less than 100% of the net identifiable assets. The parent includes the full fair value of the subsidiary in the consolidated financial statements and then allocates to the non controlling interest. The key difference between the purchase method and the acquisition method is that in the acquisition method, all of the FMV increment and all of the goodwill is recognized, including the portion attributable to the non controlling interest. • 32. A Gap of Sky English essay A Gap of Sky Amalie Thomsen Introduction: The title of the short story is A Gap of Sky and is written by Anna Hope in 2008. Anna Hope is an English actress and writer. She is from Manchester and was educated at Wadham College, Oxford. The short story is fiction, but could still take place in real life. The main theme is identity formation. Analysis: The story is written with a 3rd persons view: Ellie reaches a hand out [...] She takes the glass, stumbles forward... The narrator therefor has an omniscient point of view, and knows everything about the main character, Ellie. Characters: In the story we have the main character, Ellie, her friend Toby (who we do not meet, but hear about) and the mother (we do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How the fuck did she manage to sleep for so long? The negative words have great influence on how the reader understands and interprets the story. The MILJØ becomes very dark, and the whole short story is read in another way than it would have been otherwise. Theme/Message: As I wrote in the introduction, the main theme is identity formation. Ellie is a lost teenager who lives her life on coke and other narcotics. She has some problems with her parents, and she blames them for everything: To whom? To what? To why? To God? To Mum? To Dad? Not then especially not them. It was their fault she was doing this bloody course in the first place. When she suddenly finds the stone she is reminded of her mothers love, and she starts to think about life and her parents. Especially her mothers love is a thing she realizes she has taken for granted. Ellie suddenly sees everything, life, in a new perspective: It is filled with people, and everyone, everyone Ellie sees has the same substance within them, around them, connecting them, looping between them in great bonds of love. The title A Gap of Sky is specifically chosen and also appears in the story itself: [...] a gap of sky to her right, an emptiness, a vacancy that she doesn t remember seeing before, something destroyed, or being built [...] In this beautifully written piece of the story, Ellie discovers she is missing something in her life. Conclusion Ellie er blevet voksen og opdager, at hun har taget ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Factors Affecting The Development Of A Corporation Essay There are many factors that play a role in the development of a corporation. One being its initial raise of funds. Weather it s through investors, lenders, stocks or bonds corporations must somehow find a way to increase their revenue. A firm that raises capital through lenders or investors must first convince potential investors of its profitability. They do this by releasing valuable information about their finances through a series of lengthy financial statements. Due to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure Laws and Regulations companies, that are publicly owned, are required to disclose detailed information about their financial condition, operating results, management compensation, and other areas of their business to all potential investors. Doing so reduces the cost investors receive while collecting company information. Although these disclosure obligations are primarily linked with large publicly traded companies, many smaller companies choose to raise capital by making shares in the company available to investors. (1) These financial statements are also displayed in the form of a business plan. Through the use of income statements and balance sheets corporations are able to successfully record their financial flow. An income statement also known as the statement of revenue and expenses reports a company s financial performance over a specific accounting period. Corporations use this to provide investors with information about their revenue costs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Discovery Of X Rays X rays is one of the many discoveries that revolutionized the way the humanity functions technologically, economically and socially in a fast changing world. This invention was thanks to Dr. Rontgen. His invention changed the medical and astronomy field drastically and therefore he was awarded the first Nobel prize in physics. He was awarded this incredible and highly valued award in the year 1901 after producing, detecting and then discovering these high frequency wavelengths produced by electromagnetic radiation. This Physicist and scientist later to be recognized as doctor gave the world the gift of this amazing, invisible and powerful rays that would change the world for ever. Willhelm Conrad Rontgen was born in March 27 on the year 1845, at Lennep, in the big city of Remscheid which is located in Germany. He was an only child. His father was a merchant who sold and manufactured cloth. His mother, Charlotte, came from family in Amsterdam. When he was very young his family and him moved to the Netherlands. There he assisted the Martinus Herman van Doorn institute, which was a school. A few years later he entered another school at Utrecht but was unfairly expelled. As he got older Dr. Rontgen studied at ETH Zurich which was Sencherman 2. also known as the Federal Polytechnic institute in Zurich. He started his career as a mechanical engineer. In 1869 he graduated with a Ph.D. from that same Polytechnic after having and outstanding academic result. Thanks to his immense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Essay On Intracellular Trafficking Research Strategy A. Significance Intracellular trafficking is an essential cellular communication process in which membrane vesicles carrying lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids are taken up and transported through endosomes to lysosomes (termed endocytosis) and vesicles carrying macromolecules are delivered to the plasma membrane and outside of the cell (exocytosis) {Oka, 2005 #5437}. Uptake of external particles through endocytosis is required for prolific growth and differentiation. For example, uptake of transferrin provides iron necessary for growth and parasitism of the parasite Plasmodium falciparum {Rodriguez, 1986 #5445}. In contrast, the synaptic release of neurotransmitters, including dopamine and serotonin exemplifies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By sharing only the N terminal EH domains and CC region with ITSN1 plus a proline rich (PR) region, Pan1 has a role in endocytosis and the organization of cortical actin through interactions with additional partner proteins, including EH proteins Ede1 and End3 {Wendland, 1998 #5492;Huang, 2007 #5510;Miliaras, 2004 #5491}. Pan1 homologs were identified from Candida species and Magnaporthe oryzae (Mo), but not Cn, indicating that Pan1 mediated endocytic trafficking is not universal among fungi ({Martin, 2007 #5481}, ZG Zhang and P Wang, unpublished data). Cn is an encapsulated basidiomycetous fungus infecting both immunocompromised and healthy individuals causing life threatening meningoencephalitis {Mitchell, 1995 #878}. It produces virulence factors including melanin, the polysaccharide capsule, and extracellular ureases and phospholipases {Kozel, 1995 #1696;Buchanan, 1998 #2608;engeler, 2000 #3148}. Previous studies showed that secretory transport is important in virulence {Rodrigues, 2009 #5368;Jesus, 2009 #5368} and that Cn contains proteins with a conserved function in exocytosis, such as Sav1, Sec6, and Sec14 {Yoneda, 2006 #5408;Panepinto, 2009 #5385;Chayakulkeeree, 2011 #5686}. • 38. Bridging Trial Case Study The BRIDGE trial, conducted by Douketis and associates,1 was a randomized, multicenter, double blind, placebo controlled trial that questioned the need for anticoagulation bridging in patients with atrial fibrillation, who are undergoing an invasive procedure that requires interruption of warfarin therapy. The primary efficacy outcome was arterial thromboembolism, which includes stroke, transient ischemic attack, and systemic embolism, whereas the secondary efficacy outcomes were acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and death. The primary and secondary safety outcomes were major and minor bleeding, respectively. Patients eligible for this trial must have been 18 years or older, had chronic atrial fibrillation or flutter, been on warfarin therapy for at least 3 months, had an international normalized ratio (INR) of 2.0 to 3.0, were undergoing an elective invasive procedure that required discontinuation of warfarin therapy, and had at least one CHAD2 stroke risk ... The analysis also demonstrated no significant difference between the groups when it came to the secondary outcomes: acute myocardial infarction (p=0.1), deep vein thrombosis (p=0.25), pulmonary embolism (p=0.25), and death (p=0.88). However, the bridging group had a significantly higher risk of major (p=0.005) and minor ( 0.001) bleeding than the placebo group. Overall, the authors concluded that, in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing invasive procedures, forgoing bridging was noninferior to bridging with a low molecular weight heparin for atrial thromboembolism prophylaxis and that there was a clinical benefit in forgoing bridging due to the lower risk of major and minor ...
