Working the Crowd and Room Arrangement
Working the Crowd and Room Arrangement Either you work the crowd, or the crowd works you. This
is repeated over and over by Jones. He leads into the video with a section on proximity and working
the crowd. He compared classrooms to a stoplight. Red is the fews feet around you, where the least
amount of issues are bound to creep up, yellow is a few feet beyond that, where the middle ground is
and students may be off task, and the green is the section where off task behavior will start. He
stressed the importance of working the room. He said it is important to be able to go through all three
colors within steps. He drew a diagram on the board of a typical classroom set up found in most any
classroom in the United States. He stressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have rearranged the direction of my desk to put it flat against the front wall, due to my computer
setup. He also suggests trying out the student seats in the classroom to get a feel for what the students
will be experiencing.
Praise, Prompt, and Leave: The Verbal Modality In the video Jones re enacts a typical classroom
scene. The assignment is first modeled on the board by the teacher, guidelines are outlined and there is
a brief question and answer period. The teacher then tells the group, OK I am going to have you work
some problems on your own while I walk around and help those of you who are having issues. If you
have a problem or question, please raise your hand. He asked the group, What happens now? Every
hand goes up. He comments that that is usually what happens, everyone wants help, but you can t help
everyone at once, so he demonstrates what happens when you assist students. He then walks over to a
participant in his session and shows what happens when you help a student. What happens with the
session attendees is what happens in most classrooms. It started out with a small amount of talking,
and then the noise level grew and grew. He doesn t address how to handle the talking yet, but
describes the stop and yell most teachers do. Okay everyone stop talking, get to work, raise your hand,
be on task..... He goes one to the one on one helping. He said most students when asked what they
need help with and they

Swot Analysis Of The Biggest Internal Strength For...
MY SWOT analysis of the industry:
Internal Strengths: The biggest internal strength for airlines is being able to transport large quantities
of people to a variety of destinations in a efficient (usually) and safe (we hope) manner. A similar
strength is being able to segment the people flying and provide different pricing options. For example,
providing an airport lounge or extra legroom for the higher spenders or providing discounts or flight
bundling options for the more frugal spenders.
Internal Weaknesses: The biggest internal weakness for airlines is pricing. Because there are a variety
of different airline qualities and a variety of different types of seats and add ons you can purchase, the
price of a flight can vary widely. Many people look to save the most money, which makes it
challenging for the more expensive airlines. Another weakness is location. Because the whole point of
airlines is to travel all over the world, you have to factor in the number of people involved in the
industry, including but not limited to pilots, flight attendants, baggage carriers, TSA agents, the people
monitoring the flights from the airport towers, the airplane maintenance crew, the air marshalls, etc.
Given the constant nature of flight travel, dealing with a short notice employee absence, especially in
the case of a pilot, can be difficult.
External Opportunities: The biggest external opportunity for airlines is to introduce new flights to new
destinations. Just this year, the

Literary Analysis Of Rome Fever, And Edith Wharton sRoman...
Roman Fever: W, A New Leaf: L Critical literary analysis can be used in many ways: simply to
understand a story s purpose, the story s characters, and many other aspects to understand a story fully.
Critical literary analysis can also be used to try to determine an opinion between two books and their
value as a story. In the case between Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton and F. Scott Fitzgerald s
A New Leaf , Roman Fever is the superior story between the two. After in depth analysis of both
stories, Roman Fever deserves the higher ranking simply because of its literary elements. Roman
Fever written by Edith Wharton has a more complex plot structure than A New Leaf . The plot
structure in a Roman Fever is more complex because it is not simply chronological. The story does
use a chronological structure to describe how long the two characters have been sitting together, and
to further the story, but there are mentions of the past that divert from the chronological order. These
glimpses into the past from the characters, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, add artistic unity to the
story, meaning that these flashbacks cannot be removed, otherwise the story would not be
comprehendible. The purpose of Roman Fever is not the plot but the characters and their relationship,
and the change and develop of Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley. This alone rank Roman Fever above A
New Leaf because A New Leaf relies heavily on chronological plot structure and the plot to truly drive
the story. The plot also ties in heavily the stereotype of the pattern of three s. Julia rejects both Dick
and Phil twice before accepting them both on the third time. Many of the analysis questions for A New
Leaf focus on the plot rather than anything else, including two about Phil and Dick and plot, 4. What
causes Julia to reject Dick, twice? What in his behavior causes her rejections, and what in her
character causes them? 5. What is the function of Phil Hoffman in the plot? Why does Julia reject him,
and why does she finally marry him? The characters of Roman Fever are dynamic in a literary way
and are the main focus of the story. If the relationship between the two characters, and the characters
themselves, were not made

Labeling Theory And Strain Theory
Michael Byrnes Cindy Moore Theories of Criminal Behavior 11/16/14 Labeling Theory and Strain
Theory: John Dillinger Introduction: Throughout history there have always been many different
theories of crime and why people commit crimes. In the late 1930s a new theory rose to the forefront;
this theory was called the anomie theory. Anomie means a lack of ethical standards. The anomie
theory was proposed by Roberton Merton. It stated that society, as a whole, generally shares the same
goals relating to having success in life; whether that is having a family, wealth, power, or just
happiness. Society generally agrees that these are things that are to be sought after. Furthermore,
Merton proposed that society, as a whole, also has a list of generally accepted ways to achieve such
goals (Merton, 1938). Criminal activity, such as robbery, murder, and corruption, are among the things
that are not accepted by society as appropriate means to achieve these goals. Merton s anomie theory
was built upon in 1992 by Robert Agnew who developed the general strain theory. General strain
theory argues that when members of society are unable to achieve the general goals that society has
set forth, they will, in order to avoid further rejection, further alienate themselves from society. Agnew
also argued that if these individuals feel as if their shortcomings were a result of their environment
failing them they will likely develop very negative feelings towards society, causing them to

Duality Between Nature and Society in The Tempest
One of the essential themes of The Tempest is the duality between nature and society. This is made
evident through the character of Caliban: the disfigured fish like creature that inhabits the island upon
which the play takes place. Caliban lacks civility because he was born on the island deprived of any
social or spiritual morality other than nature and instinct. He is literally man untamed. Caliban is not
monstrous simply for the sake of being frightening; his ghastly appearance is intended to literally
depict the essential differences between civilization and natural instinct.
Caliban represents man, instinct, and nature in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are present because life is easier with rules like this. Human beings no longer had to worry
about being killed or being looted as much as long as they were within the confines of a civilization.
People started to be able to take up specialized professions and be able to count on other people to
perform tasks such as carpentry, cooking, etc. Governments were formed to organize the people and
efficiently run a civilization. Now the individual was not responsible for every aspect of survival but
contributed to the overall survival of a civilization. From this economies were born either through
trade or currency. However, the cornerstones of human civilizations (money and power) have lead to a
whole new form of evil and brutality that was never present in nature. Its almost of a blind perversion
of human nature. Through bettering our situation, we have corrupted ourselves to an extent (greed).
Civilization can produce more savage and evil beings than nature. While Caliban is perceived as being
evil and monstrous, he really is not. He just does not know any better. However, Antonio is much
more malicious than Caliban because he knows what he has done is evil This goes back to the concept
of nature vs. society.
Caliban is Shakespeare s representation of natural instinct and how it collides with society. Of course
Caliban could have simply been a man raised in nature,

Economic Globalization Is The Growing Integration Of World...
Economic globalization is the growing integration of world markets and the intensifying
interdependence of global economies. The process has social and economic costs as well as benefits.
The process is both critiqued and lauded by scholars. On one hand it provides opportunities and
growth while on the other hand it creates an unequal distribution of wealth also while hurting workers
rights. At the conclusion of World War II, Harry White and John Maynard Keynes aimed to create a
financial strategy to liberate the world economy from the extensive restrictions and controls levied
during the war. At the Bretton Woods conference, they provided proposals which strengthened
American economic hegemony (Rodrik). This happened because both White and Keynes recognized
that domestic economic needs outranked global economics (Rodrik). The goal of the Bretton Woods
conference was to stimulate moderate economic globalization.
Dani Rodrik praises the unification of global markets and trade liberalization after the Bretton Woods
conference. He especially lauds Keynesian globalization, which gives states discretion in trade policy
and regulation. According to Rodrik, the Bretton Woods conference was successful in fostering
economic trade after years of war and rivalry. However, he does critique trade liberalization and
multilateral international institutions that emerged out of Bretton Woods, such as the International
Monetary Fund (IMF), General Agreements on Tariffs and Trade

All My Sons Research Paper
On September 1, 1939 Hitler invaded Poland which caused one of the worst wars ever known to man.
This war is known as World War Two. Many men who were born in 1923 in the Soviet Union, lost
their lives during the battle. Since most of the men left to fight, the women stayed behind and took
care of the factories and their homes. In a play called All My Sons by Arthur Miller, he wrote about
the struggles of a family who was greatly affected by the war.
One key member of the Keller family was Joe Keller. Joe and his business partner Steve Deever
owned a factory that sold cylinder heads to the military during the war. Unfortunately, not all of these
cylinders were flawless, and several faulty ones were sold to the military. As a result of the flawed
cylinders, Twenty One Pilots lost their lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Annie s brother George comes to the Keller s house he brings trouble. George has always
believed that Mr. Keller was aware of the cracked cylinder heads and that he was the one who told Mr.
Deever to fix them up and ship them off. When George was asking Mr. and Mrs. Keller how they have
been, Mrs. Keller made a mistake. Mrs. Keller accidentally said, He hasn t been laid up in fifteen
years... (Miller 55). Since, the war just ended a couple of years ago, that would mean Mr. Keller was
never sick. George wishes he could reopen the case and convict Mr. Keller of his wrong doing, but he
can not prove the phone call that happen between Mr. Keller and Mr. Deever. Chris was so upset by
the news, he got in his car and drove off. At the end of the play Chris was going to take Mr. Keller to
jail, but before he had the chance to something horrifying happened. As Chris waited for Mr. Keller to
get his jacket from the house, they heard a noise. Mr. Keller could no longer live with the guilt of
killing Twenty One Pilots and having the death of his son on his hands. He committed suicide, on a

Essay on Technology in Headrick´s Power over People
As we progressed through the course, Modern World, the students were able to see various incidences
of how technology either enhanced or deteriorated a civilization or a nation. One of the primary reads
in the course was Headrick s book, Power over Peoples. It is important to look at Headrick s work and
see just what is meant by his title, Power Over People. From what students have gathered, this means
the use of technology as a means to gain an edge over another civilization, hence, using your power or
technology to dominate another group of people. Furthermore, it is important to note just what is
meant by the term technology. According to Headrick, technology is all the ways in which humans use

The Albanians were the majority and the Serbians being the minority. In this situation, the Serbians
oppressed the Albanians. In retaliation, the Albanians formed a terrorist group known as the Kosovo
Liberation Army (KLA) which was a terrorist group that fought for the rights of the Albanians. The
various actions taken by the KLA caused NATO involvement. Their involvement required a series of
air raids and bombings to flush the Serbian people out of Kosovo. However, the story gets much
deeper than that. As we delve deeper in to the situation, it becomes evident that negotiations were
close to being met; however, they failed due to NATO military annex (Gibbs). Once the negotiation
agreements failed, the US sided with the Albanians and proceeded to attack the Serbians. In their
attack, the US used it superior technology (planes) to gain an advantage over the Serbs. Rather than
constantly sending men in to harm s way, the US released a series of air raids to flush out the Serbians.
Now, from reading this one may think that the US fully achieved its goal by flushing out the Serbians
which they did, but there is more as well. According to Dr. Grant Hammond, the US can say that they
met their goal by purging Kosovo of the Serbians; however, can t say [they] won because [they] did
not accomplish the established goals. As stated by President Bill Clinton, these [goals] were to
demonstrate the seriousness of NATO s purpose so

A Brief Note On Canada s Labour Force
Collective bargaining was not just a means of raising wages and improving working conditions. It was
a demand by organized workers for a new status, and the right to participate in decision making both
in industry and government (Macdowell, p.175). Canada s economy has gone through many changes
in the last century. From the crash of the stock market to the end of the second World War, many new
oppourtunities were brought into Canada s labour force. Women began to gain recogniation for their
contribution in the labour force during the war and were also joining men in the labour force. Unions
were also introduced following many upgrades to the health and safety laws in the labour force. In
today s modern world, Canada has become an econmic globalized economy. In the past, trading of
goods and services were done with local communities but with the introduction of economic
globalization, the trading of goods services is now done between neighbouring provinces, nations, and
countries. Many different workplace sectors have been affected by econmic globalization and the one
that will be focused on in this paper will be the retail sector. Canada s retail workplace and the
workers, who work in retail stores, have been transformed due to economic globalization in regards to
economic integration and interdependence between the economies within the state and around the
world. This results in more jobs and services that would created, and more up to date workplace and
worker

Rigoberta Menchu Literary Analysis
The Guatemalan Civil War was a period filled with constant battles between the national government
and the indigenous Maya population. In I, Rigoberta Menchu: An Indian Woman in Guatemala, we
witness Menchu s compelling narrative highlighting indigenous life during the Guatemalan Civil War.
Since publication, her narrative has achieved world acclaim as it was awarded the Nobel Peace in
1992. Such acclaim, however, has incited critics to question her narrative, as does anthropologist
David Stoll in Rigoberta Menchu and the Story of All Poor Guatemalans. Although the questioning of
historical accounts is valid, David Stoll s challenge of Menchu serves no purpose other than to
discredit Menchu s personal narrative. Therefore, I find Menchu ... Show more content on

She recollects earning only a meager 20 centavos for picking 35 pounds of coffee a day. However,
Stoll claims that Rigoberta never experienced working on the plantations as her father was not poor by
local standards . Yet, regardless of her level of poverty, Menchu was still impecunious as she was
living at the edge of the Altiplano mountains cultivating crops for the entirety of her day to simply
provide for her family. Stoll continues to say that Menchu provides an inaccurate representation of her
village as it was a more fluid society than conveyed . He states that the indígenas were learning better
ways to make a living and were not working in plantations as much, instead, they were going to
school in record numbers . Therefore, Stoll attempts to discredit the persona of Menchu as a humble
indigenous woman who overcame a multitude of obstacles in order to tarnish her entire narrative as a
false account in his desperate search for public recognition. Lastly, to disrepute Menchu, Stoll
attempts to disgrace the peasant movement she and her family were heavily involved with. He
denounces the protesters from Comité de Unidad Campesina (CUC), by criticizing their decision of
carrying Molotov cocktails in their occupation of the Spanish embassy. Stoll asserts that it should not

STRATEGIC APPROACH TO REDUCING VEHICLE EMISSIONS IN NIGERIA: ROLE OF
FLEET OPERATORS.
BEING A LECTURE PRESENTED BY ENGR. BG IBRAHIM fwc ACM (SED) AT SAFETY

AUGUST,2009.
INTRODUCTION
1. In developed and developing countries, the history of air pollution problem has typically been high
levels of smoke and sulphur dioxide arising from the combustion of sulphur containing fossil fuels
such as coal for domestic and industrial purpose.[i] Industrial development and the use of fossil fuels
have affected the world climate adversely. In Nigeria epileptic power supply has brought about the use
of diesel and petrol powered generators virtually in all homes
2. The transport ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also revealed that in 1998, a single car in Nigeria emitted 29,600kg of hydrocarbons, 34,000kg
of Nitrogen Oxides and 4,029 kg of different carbonate gasses over its average lifespan.[iii]
CAUSES OF POLLUTANTS IN VEHICLE
5. Motor vehicle use is now generally recognised as the source of more air pollution than any other
single activity in cities around the world. The internal combustion engine of a vehicle produces power
by burning fuel and changing the chemical energy of fuel into heat energy. The heat energy is then
converted into mechanical power. Cars and trucks do not burn all of the fuel that goes into the
combustion chamber. In fact, most vehicles only burn about 85% of the fuel and as the vehicle gets
older less and less fuel is burned. It is this unburned fuel that produces some harmful products which
are discharged from the engine and become air pollutants.[iv] Therefore, an engine s fuel system, and
its emission controls are closely interrelated. That is why attention is given to the requirements of
emission control in the design and operation of all parts of the fuel system in a vehicle.
EFFECTS OF POLLUTANTS IN VEHICLES
6. Adverse effects to human health include; a. Reduction in the amount of oxygen that can be
delivered to our body s organs and tissues, which can be life threatening caused by particles of carbon
monoxide. A mild

Free Range Salmonella
In my opinion, world wide should have free range hens so there are healthier hens and eggs resulting
in less salmonella spread, if they were free range they would be less stressed and they would not be so
close together which would cause fights. If they were free range they would be healthier, and their
eggs would be healthier for humans to eat because it would not carry salmonella, and the environment
would benefit in many ways. Also the costs of free range living would be distributed onto the
consumers in many ways.
Free range would cause less fights, dead hens, and feces covered eggs. Which would make it harder to
spread salmonella. Versus caged breeding, which causes trampling, dead hens and salmonella spread.
If free range was world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
consumers would want to know what their product is fed, so organic is the way to go. Free range is
also around cleaner environment. Where as caged are around chemicals which can cause salmonella
spread. antibiotic resistant diseases, food poisoning, polluted waters these are all issues with caged
hens and the environment around them. salmonella has caused about seventy deaths each year since
year 2000. More deaths can accumulate due to water and air pollution due to chemical use. Free range
uses no chemicals and uses all organic products, which overall is healthier for environment, humans
and animals. which will lead to world wide free range hens.
In conclusion world wide should have cage free hens so there is healthier hens and eggs resulting in
less salmonella spread. Which would make death rate plummet. If free range became world wide it
will lower the cost down the road. It can lower the cost because there would not be any competition
between organic and non organic products if everyone was well educated on where their food comes
from. Which will benefit all hens and humans in a positive way. There will be no more chemical use
for a healthier environment, which will benefit future generations to

Agile Software Architecture Written By Christine Miyachi
The first article I focused on was Agile Software Architecture written by Christine Miyachi. This
article mainly focused on the concept of agile software development. The concept of agile
development is mainly based on interactions between the software developer and the consumer of the
software. An agile software is something that can be fixed at the last minute due to sudden changes
(Miyachi, 2011). With the ability to change the developing software at any moment in the process, it is
widely believed that the cost to do this would be very high but agile method experts say that with
changing software the cost will actually level out over time (Miyachi, 2011). In order for this method
to work, a development team must accept a process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article mainly focused on comparing an evolutionary method to the waterfall method. The author
of the article believed that the waterfall model is very unrealistic and dangerous to use as a primary
development tool for any project (Gilb, 1985). The waterfall method is scheduled for a single finished
date and all planning, design and analysis is done in the very beginning before the software coding
begins (Gilb, 1985). The evolutionary model is based on delivering to a real user, measuring the added
value to the user, and adjusting any issues (Gilb, 1985). A key difference emphasized in the article was
that a system built in the evolutionary model is real and always changing while the waterfall method is
not (Gilb, 1985). The waterfall method is more focused on what the software will do as compared to
the evolutionary method which is more focused on how well the software will work for the client
(Gilb, 1985). Gilb had the opinion that the waterfall method is no longer a method to follow (Gilb,
1985). Back in 1985, Gilb wanted to show readers that the evolutionary method was the way software
should be developed and that the clients were more interested in a technology that was perfected for
them (Gilb, 1985). As seen in the waterfall approach, it was very common to have a software
developed for a client and the client would not even know who the developer was (Gilb, 1985). The
waterfall method was effective but it is a method

Intrusion Detection Systems And Data Fusion
In this part we will talk more deeply about this intrusion detection systems and data fusion.
Coming to intrusion detection systems it is defined as the problem of detecting the intruders who are
accessing the company s networks or systems without authorization. ID systems are categorized as:
1. Signature based detection: In this type the detection is based on signature or pattern of attacks
because any attack is targeted on vulnerabilities of a system
2. Anomaly based detection: In this type detection is based on looking for the anomalous behavior
based on reviewing the audit files and log files.
After categorization coming to the classification they are classified as:
1. Host based systems: In these systems they collect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ideal characteristics of an Intrusion detection system are:
It must work continually with minimal human interference
It must be error free by being able to recover from system crashes, either accidental or by malicious
activity.
Upon startup, the intrusion detection system must be able to recover its previous state and resume its
operation unaffected.
It must resist subversion. The intrusion detection system should be automated by monitoring itself
weather it has been compromised by an intruder
It must impose a minimal overhead on the system where it is running, to avoid interfering with the
system s normal operation.
It must be configurable according to the security policies of the system that is being monitored.
It must be adaptable over time to the advances. For example, new applications being installed, users
changing from one activity to another or new resources being available can cause changes in system
use patterns.
As the number of systems to be monitored increases and the chances of attacks increase we also
consider the following characteristics as desirable:
It must be scalable to monitor a large number of hosts while providing results in a timely and accurate
manner.
It must provide graceful degradation of service. If some components of the intrusion detection system
stop working for any reason, the rest of them should be affected as little as possible.
It must allow dynamic reconfiguration, allowing the

There were bars on the windows and the bed bolted to the floor. Just the description of the room takes
on the meaning of how the woman felt; she could not escape from societies view and that she herself

Interracial Marriages
Christianity Race is a religious based website dedicated to spreading the word of God based on the
teachings of the Bible. The authors value ethno nationalism and believe racial mixing is a sin. They
have an elaborate website that covers a wide array of topics and they back up their opinions with
quotes from religious texts as well as studies and research from several peer reviewed journals. They
use facts from the New Scientist and the Department of Health and Human Services. Their particular
concern is that there are fundamental religious and scientific objections to marriage between people
who are of different ethnicities. The concern stems from a primary concern for the well being of
potential children resulting from these unions.

They quote a study that states white females/black males have divorce rates 200% higher than white
females/white males (National Council on Family Relations, 2008). They follow this statistic with
provoking questions such as Would God have Christians encouraging risky marriages? These
intimidating questions discourage people from questioning data if they wish to remain connected with
their religious counterparts. The same study stated that divorce rates for all couples had increased and
that divorce rates depended on a variety of non racial factors. It concluded that age at marriage and
educational level had a greater impact on marriage dissolution. It also found that depending on the
race and gender of the couple involved, divorce rates varied as some interracial marriages had lower
rates of divorce than same race marriages. In the future, if the authors of Christianity Race wished to
scientifically prove the notion that interracial marriages will more likely result in marriage instability
and divorce, they should attempt to conduct surveys of same race and various different race couples of
the same age group, religion, and socioeconomic status and ask about their marriage satisfaction in a
neutral way. This study could be combined with or compared to more recent longitudinal studies
regarding different race couples. They should also consider which races and genders should be
included in the study or if all data collected would be categorized accordingly. By following these
suggestions, Christianity Race authors may report findings that indicate interracial marriage is
increasing in America and that depending on the race of the couple, divorce could be predicted at the
same rate as same race couples as shown in the aforementioned

The Main Theme of Tennyson s The Charge of the Light...
The Main Theme of Tennyson s The Charge of the Light Brigade
From the first few lines of The Charge of the Light Brigade, Tennyson plunges you into the poem,
creating an awesome, in depth feeling of reality. His words are so powerful, that they make you feel as
if you are one of the Light Brigade. With this war language he uses he gives the reader a feeling of
heroism and bravery, an inexorable feeling.
Charge for the guns! Into the valley of death rode the six hundred. This illustrates the great irony or
war, as they are marching into the valley on a misinterpreted command. The actual command that was
given was to ret rite from the valley and not to go into it.
Forward the Light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In verse three it exclaims that there was a;
Cannon to the right of them,
Cannon to the left of them
Cannon in front of them.
This is an audio image of bombardment, which almost allows you to hear the cannons being set off.
This draws the reader in, making them think as if they were there.
Into the jaws of Death, into the mouth of hell . In this line I have come across personification, as the
valley has been brought to life by being given human attributes. This highlights the horror, torture and
suffering the soldiers uncovered and shows the wicked darkness of war.
In verse four there is a dramatic pause, All the world wondered. This line suggests that the whole
world knew of their bravery and that they would be always remembered as heroes of their era.
Reeled from the sabre stroke, in this short line you can nearly hear the sabres slashing through the air
violently.
Shattered and sundered tells us that they were beaten, but beaten as warriors of war.
Then they rode back, but not, Not the six hundred . This statement is very emphatic and stark, which
makes the reader dwell on their unfortunate defeat.
In the next verse Tennyson uses repetition of the cannons this brings them to life and makes the reader
reflect back on the previous verse in which

allowing this discrimination or what they see as religious expression , religious organizations will be
permitted to discriminate against the LGBT community, this belief is supported through specific
examples such as church based engineering, civil marriage, and faith based initiative. Firstly, these
religious organizations have the right to overturn the ban on Church Based electioneering. By
removing the ban on church electioneering would allow for these groups to guide resources toward far
right candidates who oppose diversity such as the same sex marriages or the LGBT community. No

Criticisms On Porter s Theory
4) Criticisms on Porter s Theory There have been many different reactions towards Porter s theory on
how nations ought to compete. Some responses were validated while others rebutted his theory.
Firstly, the positive response will be discussed before focusing on the criticisms of Porter s theory. Oz
(2002) implemented Porter s Diamond model to analyse the competitive advantage of five Turkish
industries and the outcome was favourable and thus validated Porter s theory. For example, the
uncompetitive Turkish automobile industry resulted in uncompetitive companies, while the presence
of demanding buyers and hence intense local rivalry in Turkish construction and leather clothing
industries pushed the companies to innovate and become globally competitive. The Turkish findings
by Oz thus validated Porter s theory that indeed, competitive industries of a nation are inclined to
cluster together. On the other hand, the criticisms of Porter s theory vary widely from doubts on his
theory s originality (Dunning, 1993; Grant, 1991; Rugman and D Cruz, 1993) to the over reliance on
global export shares as the measure of global competitiveness (Cartwright, 1993; Grant, 1991;
Rugman and D Cruz, 1993). Porter s methodology was also denounced by several academics, which
will be discussed below (Dunning, 1993; Rugman and D Cruz, 1993; Rugman and ... Show more

The Bible Vs The Bhagavad
The Bible Vs The Bhagavad
The Bible Vs The Bhagavad are the sacred books of Christians and Hindus respectively. There are
several similarities as well as differences found between these the bible text and the Bhagavad text.
The Bhagavad Gita is often called as the Bible of Hindus. The similarities between them can be
analyzed from the facts that Bhagavat Gita and the Bible has emphasized on the love for man. The
texts from both Holy books indicate the fact that God says that he loves those who love the mankind.
Further, both the books have cleared that only God guides people, which can be analyzed from texts of
both books. In Bhagavad Gita, It is mentioned that I am the way, supporter, lord, witness, abode,
refuge, friend (Davies), while in the Bible, He dwelleth in me and I in Him (Venden).
Further, both the books have emphasized on the worship of God such as it is mentioned in Bhagavad
Gita that They who worship me with true devotion are in me and I in them (Davies), while it is
mentioned in Bible that I in them, thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one (Venden). These
texts clear the fact that both Bhagavad as well as Bible emphasized on the worship of God. Further,
both the books point out towards the fact those who worship God will never be left alone, as it is
mentioned in Bhagavad that Be assured that he who worships me, perishes not (Davies), while the it is

The traveler is keen enough to pick up on the timber jams in the river. He shows that he does have
skills even though he is inexperienced in the Yukon, and that he is well focused on his objective to
travel the Yukon to see his friends. He was keenly observant, and he noticed the changes in the creek,
the curves, and bends and the timber jam, and always he sharply noted where he placed his feet (563).
Also, he picks up on other hot springs and things within the terrain from being observant and careful.
The traveler starts to show just how inexperienced he is and how he really lacks the street smarts in
the Yukon, when he builds the fire underneath a spruce tree along the edge of the tree line. He had to
build the fire because the cold was getting to him and he needed to warm up after falling through the
ice. HE was not smart, instead of putting the fire out in the open or further out without anything to
come down on it to put it out, it was a lack of common sense. It was as though he had just heard his
own sentence of death. For a moment he sat and stared at the spot where the fire had been. Then he
grew very calm (565). He then tries to move the fire out into the open, but knows that the kindling is
saturated with water from the snow falling on the fire, it became useless. He now realizes he is in
trouble. Well, it was up to him to

Shelley Black OL620 Total Rewards August 4, 2017 Summary According to the case study, Consumer
Health Care: Medtronic s Health Insurance Options, by Herzlinger, Hurwich and Bokser, I have come
to the conclusion that Medtronic was trying to offer an array of services to their employees but yet
really didn t analyze what they were providing. Currently, Medtronic offers three distinct health plans
that are comparable with their employee s as well as industry competitors. However, there were
several areas that I found concerning that is in regards to cost where the company is spending more
money than they need to. Within this paper, I will be addressing some factors in areas such as where
money could be saved so that they may be able to use this additional money in other areas for the
company. Restrictions At the time, Medtronic made decisions what they thought would be good for
the company as well as their employees. However, there are several areas of concern that could be
redesigned to help accommodate cost as well as the company. One area that I saw right away that
needs attention immediately was the redesign of the part time employee s hours. Currently, Medtronic
considers part time as those who work 32 or less hours per week. According to the Affordable Care
Act (ACA), if an employee works a minimum of 30 hours per week, they are considered full time and

To help you answer this question, allow us to explain briefly what a breast lift and breast
augmentation does. Once you have the basic idea of what each procedure does, you can determine by
yourself if a combined breast lift with implants is suitable for you.
In summary, a breast lift will surgically fix breasts that are pendulous, nipples and areolas that droop
below the breast crease, and the breast shape that is asymmetric. Breast lift doesn t add volume to the
breast, though, so this is appropriate for you if you re already satisfied with your breast size.
Breast augmentation, on the other hand, is a surgical procedure that increases breast size with the use
of implants. It doesn t correct sagging breasts or drooping nipples.
Both procedures can provide stunning results even when performed independently. However, if your
goal is to make your breasts fuller, perkier, and more youthful, you may want to combine both
procedures. You ll not only enjoy beautiful results but also undergo one period of a lengthy

World War I Was The First Major War
World War I was the first major war where technology was relied on more than the troops themselves.
After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries started to create new
technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These technologies ranged from the
most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of weaponry to be used in specific
scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war, developed from common civilian or
household items, these could only result in better use in war. These machines of war are so vast and
expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would have needed to have been used to bring the
war to a close. Not only were machines a large part but so was Scientific technologies, and
innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many European countries two major types of
transportation reigned over the newer types, these being ships and trains. Both were used extensively
and the usage of them would carry into World War I, changing tactics armies took and the speed of
their movement as well as their survival. Ships were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to
Europe ) where Trains were only able to carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals
to the front itself. The usage of the trains allowed for the movement of shells that were continually
made in factories on the home front, the shells could be run along from the Factories to the shelling

Essay on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was probably the greatest genius in Western musical history. He was born
in Salzberg, Austria on January 27, 1756. The son of Leopold Mozart and his wife Anna Maria Pertl.
Leopold was a successful composer and violinist and assistant concertmaster at the Salzberg court.
At the age of three, Wolfgang showed signs of remarkable musical talent. He learned to play the
harpsichord, a keyboard instrument related to the piano, at the age of four. Wolfgang began composing
minuets at the age of five. When he was only six years old, he and his older sister, Anna Maria,

Several of his twenty two operas gained worldwide recognition soon after his death, and they still
please audiences all over the world. The Marriage of Figaro (1786) and Don Giovanni (1787) are
operas he composed with words in Italian. The Magic Flute (1791) has German words. Each of these
contains arias (beautiful melodies for singers), recitative (Rapidly sung dialogue), ensembles in which
several people sing at the same time, and choruses. The orchestra provides an ever changing
expressive accompaniment. The drama ranges from comedy to tragedy. Mozart wrote over forty
symphonies, many of which are performed today. Some originally were overtures (orchestral
introductions) for operas, and last only a few minutes. His later symphonies, which are the most
popular, are full length orchestral compositions that last twenty to thirty minutes. Most of them consist
of four sections. Mozart s last and most famous symphony, Number 41 (1788), is nicknamed the
Jupiter.
Mozart composed a great amount of church music, most of it for performance at the Salzburg
Cathedral. He wrote Masses and shorter pieces called motets; and he set psalms to music, especially
for the afternoon or evening service. The music is beautiful and varied. It includes choral and solo
parts, usually with accompaniment by organ and orchestra. Mozart s best known sacred work is the
Requiem (Mass for the Dead). He began it in the last year of his life and

Airline Deregulation Act Of 1978 Signed
INTRODUCTION
Airline deregulation was the process of removing the government imposed regulations on the entry of
new airlines as well the airline fare limiting the competition and growth of the airline industry. In the
United States, airline deregulation mainly refers to the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 signed by
President Carter. President Carter signed the Act, but the act was proposed initially during Nixon s
administration, and carried through Ford administration. The airlines industry was growing
dramatically during 1960s and mid 1970s. Due to the steady increase in air travel, and strict
regulations imposed by the Civil Aeronautics Board, the industry faced three major difficulties lack of
free and stable market, high ticket prices leading to poor productivity, and rising labor and fuel costs.
Airlines have adopted many new strategies ever since the industry has been deregulated. The path
since the deregulation has been challenging, as the airlines have faced various hurdles such as
terrorism, war, recession, high fuel prices over the years impacting the economic structure of the
United States. These challenges have raised the question concerning whether the deregulation should
be considered or even reversed.
I will start with providing a short history about the deregulation process of the airline industry, in the
next section. The history will assist in understanding the free market that exists today. In the third
section, I will explain the key factors behind

The Sumarians Essay
Sumarians, an ancient group of people who lived in southern Mesopotamia around 3500 BC, are
attributed with the very first attempts to transcribe symbols onto moveable materials. The Sumarians
developed a cuneiform alphabet, which were then etched into clay tablets with a triangle shaped stylus
called a calamus and then allowed to dry or fired in a kiln to make them last as long as possible. The
Sumarians are speculated to be the earliest people to ever use the first known written system in the
world. The earliest surviving Papyrus scrolls that contain written text originate in Egypt and date back
to around 2400 BC during the Fifth Dynasty of King Neferirkare Kakai, although historians have
suggested papyrus could have been used as early as 3100 BC during the First Dynasty. Papyrus is a
very thick paper like material that is made from the pith , center of the stem, of the papyrus plant, a
reed like swamp plant that used to be found in abundance along the Nile river. This pith was cut into
thin strips, pressed together, and then glued and dried to form a thin flat surface that could be written
on. A calamus, like the Sumarians used, was cut from the stem of a reed and then sharpened to form a
writing utensil, but bird feathers were also used. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Essay On The Lovely Bones
Compare and Contrast of the remediation of Novels to film with reference to The Lovely Bones.
The Lovely Bones is a 2002 novel by Alice Sebold about a teenage girl called Susie Salmon, a 14 year
old girl who was raped and murdered by her neighbour George Harvey in 1973. She then watches
from her own personal Heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she
comes to terms with her own death. We follow Susie Salmon throughout the story as she witnesses the
events on the earth, experiencing hopes and longings for the everyday things she can no longer do. In
2005 Director Peter Jackson secured the books film rights and created his own film adaptation in 2009
which was met with mixed reviews but overall was well received. The film relatively stays faithful to
the novel by Alice Sebold but major themes of the story are glanced over or emphasized, characters
aren t as developed and some major plot points are missing entirely.
The novel The Lovely Bones has many characters who each have their own subplots which contribute
to the overall story in minor ways and gives the reader the opportunity to learn about each character.
For example one of the biggest elements of the story is Heaven and its depiction. In the novel Sebold
who was raised Episcopalian intended the heaven to be simplistic in design and not to be the focus of
the story. Unlike in Peter Jackson s film where heaven is ultimately a large proportion of the film,
focusing more on spectacle

Imports are goods that are brought in from a foreign country to sell here. The people or firms import
goods are usually manufacturers that produce apparel in another country, and wholesalers and retailers
acting as importers. Retailers want to give their customers the best quality products at the lowest
prices. Therefore, ever increasing amounts of textiles, apparel, and accessories are being imported into
the United States and the European Union (EU) because of the availability of cheaper labor in low
wage countries. American and European manufacturers compete with labor rates of 69 cents per hour
in parts of China and 60 cents or less in India. Traditionally, imports were fashion merchandise
designed and produced by foreign designers and manufacturers and purchased by domestic retailers at
international markets. The United States has long imported fashion from Paris, woolens in the British
Isles, sweaters from Scandinavia, and leather goods from Italy. Currently, the European Economic
Community, followed by the United States, is the largest importer of consumer apparel in the world.
Manufacturers source the best fabrics available at low cost to make into garments. U.S. textile and
apparel imports increased from $10 billion in 1982 to $96 billion in 2006. This corresponds to the
enormous growth of the textile industries of China, Korea, Taiwan, and India. One reason for this is
that U.S. manufacturers contracting production overseas tend to use fabrics from

  • 2. Working the Crowd and Room Arrangement Working the Crowd and Room Arrangement Either you work the crowd, or the crowd works you. This is repeated over and over by Jones. He leads into the video with a section on proximity and working the crowd. He compared classrooms to a stoplight. Red is the fews feet around you, where the least amount of issues are bound to creep up, yellow is a few feet beyond that, where the middle ground is and students may be off task, and the green is the section where off task behavior will start. He stressed the importance of working the room. He said it is important to be able to go through all three colors within steps. He drew a diagram on the board of a typical classroom set up found in most any classroom in the United States. He stressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have rearranged the direction of my desk to put it flat against the front wall, due to my computer setup. He also suggests trying out the student seats in the classroom to get a feel for what the students will be experiencing. Praise, Prompt, and Leave: The Verbal Modality In the video Jones re enacts a typical classroom scene. The assignment is first modeled on the board by the teacher, guidelines are outlined and there is a brief question and answer period. The teacher then tells the group, OK I am going to have you work some problems on your own while I walk around and help those of you who are having issues. If you have a problem or question, please raise your hand. He asked the group, What happens now? Every hand goes up. He comments that that is usually what happens, everyone wants help, but you can t help everyone at once, so he demonstrates what happens when you assist students. He then walks over to a participant in his session and shows what happens when you help a student. What happens with the session attendees is what happens in most classrooms. It started out with a small amount of talking, and then the noise level grew and grew. He doesn t address how to handle the talking yet, but describes the stop and yell most teachers do. Okay everyone stop talking, get to work, raise your hand, be on task..... He goes one to the one on one helping. He said most students when asked what they need help with and they ... • 3. Swot Analysis Of The Biggest Internal Strength For... MY SWOT analysis of the industry: Internal Strengths: The biggest internal strength for airlines is being able to transport large quantities of people to a variety of destinations in a efficient (usually) and safe (we hope) manner. A similar strength is being able to segment the people flying and provide different pricing options. For example, providing an airport lounge or extra legroom for the higher spenders or providing discounts or flight bundling options for the more frugal spenders. Internal Weaknesses: The biggest internal weakness for airlines is pricing. Because there are a variety of different airline qualities and a variety of different types of seats and add ons you can purchase, the price of a flight can vary widely. Many people look to save the most money, which makes it challenging for the more expensive airlines. Another weakness is location. Because the whole point of airlines is to travel all over the world, you have to factor in the number of people involved in the industry, including but not limited to pilots, flight attendants, baggage carriers, TSA agents, the people monitoring the flights from the airport towers, the airplane maintenance crew, the air marshalls, etc. Given the constant nature of flight travel, dealing with a short notice employee absence, especially in the case of a pilot, can be difficult. External Opportunities: The biggest external opportunity for airlines is to introduce new flights to new destinations. Just this year, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Literary Analysis Of Rome Fever, And Edith Wharton sRoman... Roman Fever: W, A New Leaf: L Critical literary analysis can be used in many ways: simply to understand a story s purpose, the story s characters, and many other aspects to understand a story fully. Critical literary analysis can also be used to try to determine an opinion between two books and their value as a story. In the case between Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton and F. Scott Fitzgerald s A New Leaf , Roman Fever is the superior story between the two. After in depth analysis of both stories, Roman Fever deserves the higher ranking simply because of its literary elements. Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton has a more complex plot structure than A New Leaf . The plot structure in a Roman Fever is more complex because it is not simply chronological. The story does use a chronological structure to describe how long the two characters have been sitting together, and to further the story, but there are mentions of the past that divert from the chronological order. These glimpses into the past from the characters, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, add artistic unity to the story, meaning that these flashbacks cannot be removed, otherwise the story would not be comprehendible. The purpose of Roman Fever is not the plot but the characters and their relationship, and the change and develop of Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley. This alone rank Roman Fever above A New Leaf because A New Leaf relies heavily on chronological plot structure and the plot to truly drive the story. The plot also ties in heavily the stereotype of the pattern of three s. Julia rejects both Dick and Phil twice before accepting them both on the third time. Many of the analysis questions for A New Leaf focus on the plot rather than anything else, including two about Phil and Dick and plot, 4. What causes Julia to reject Dick, twice? What in his behavior causes her rejections, and what in her character causes them? 5. What is the function of Phil Hoffman in the plot? Why does Julia reject him, and why does she finally marry him? The characters of Roman Fever are dynamic in a literary way and are the main focus of the story. If the relationship between the two characters, and the characters themselves, were not made ... • 5. Labeling Theory And Strain Theory Michael Byrnes Cindy Moore Theories of Criminal Behavior 11/16/14 Labeling Theory and Strain Theory: John Dillinger Introduction: Throughout history there have always been many different theories of crime and why people commit crimes. In the late 1930s a new theory rose to the forefront; this theory was called the anomie theory. Anomie means a lack of ethical standards. The anomie theory was proposed by Roberton Merton. It stated that society, as a whole, generally shares the same goals relating to having success in life; whether that is having a family, wealth, power, or just happiness. Society generally agrees that these are things that are to be sought after. Furthermore, Merton proposed that society, as a whole, also has a list of generally accepted ways to achieve such goals (Merton, 1938). Criminal activity, such as robbery, murder, and corruption, are among the things that are not accepted by society as appropriate means to achieve these goals. Merton s anomie theory was built upon in 1992 by Robert Agnew who developed the general strain theory. General strain theory argues that when members of society are unable to achieve the general goals that society has set forth, they will, in order to avoid further rejection, further alienate themselves from society. Agnew also argued that if these individuals feel as if their shortcomings were a result of their environment failing them they will likely develop very negative feelings towards society, causing them to ... This is made evident through the character of Caliban: the disfigured fish like creature that inhabits the island upon which the play takes place. Caliban lacks civility because he was born on the island deprived of any social or spiritual morality other than nature and instinct. He is literally man untamed. Caliban is not monstrous simply for the sake of being frightening; his ghastly appearance is intended to literally depict the essential differences between civilization and natural instinct. Human beings no longer had to worry about being killed or being looted as much as long as they were within the confines of a civilization. People started to be able to take up specialized professions and be able to count on other people to perform tasks such as carpentry, cooking, etc. Governments were formed to organize the people and efficiently run a civilization. Now the individual was not responsible for every aspect of survival but contributed to the overall survival of a civilization. From this economies were born either through trade or currency. However, the cornerstones of human civilizations (money and power) have lead to a whole new form of evil and brutality that was never present in nature. Its almost of a blind perversion of human nature. Through bettering our situation, we have corrupted ourselves to an extent (greed). Civilization can produce more savage and evil beings than nature. While Caliban is perceived as being evil and monstrous, he really is not. He just does not know any better. However, Antonio is much more malicious than Caliban because he knows what he has done is evil This goes back to the concept of nature vs. society. • 7. Economic Globalization Is The Growing Integration Of World... Economic globalization is the growing integration of world markets and the intensifying interdependence of global economies. The process has social and economic costs as well as benefits. The process is both critiqued and lauded by scholars. On one hand it provides opportunities and growth while on the other hand it creates an unequal distribution of wealth also while hurting workers rights. At the conclusion of World War II, Harry White and John Maynard Keynes aimed to create a financial strategy to liberate the world economy from the extensive restrictions and controls levied during the war. At the Bretton Woods conference, they provided proposals which strengthened American economic hegemony (Rodrik). This happened because both White and Keynes recognized that domestic economic needs outranked global economics (Rodrik). The goal of the Bretton Woods conference was to stimulate moderate economic globalization. Dani Rodrik praises the unification of global markets and trade liberalization after the Bretton Woods conference. He especially lauds Keynesian globalization, which gives states discretion in trade policy and regulation. According to Rodrik, the Bretton Woods conference was successful in fostering economic trade after years of war and rivalry. Many men who were born in 1923 in the Soviet Union, lost their lives during the battle. Since most of the men left to fight, the women stayed behind and took care of the factories and their homes. In a play called All My Sons by Arthur Miller, he wrote about the struggles of a family who was greatly affected by the war. One key member of the Keller family was Joe Keller. The various actions taken by the KLA caused NATO involvement. Their involvement required a series of air raids and bombings to flush the Serbian people out of Kosovo. However, the story gets much deeper than that. As we delve deeper in to the situation, it becomes evident that negotiations were close to being met; however, they failed due to NATO military annex (Gibbs). Once the negotiation agreements failed, the US sided with the Albanians and proceeded to attack the Serbians. In their attack, the US used it superior technology (planes) to gain an advantage over the Serbs. It was a demand by organized workers for a new status, and the right to participate in decision making both in industry and government (Macdowell, p.175). From the crash of the stock market to the end of the second World War, many new oppourtunities were brought into Canada s labour force. Since publication, her narrative has achieved world acclaim as it was awarded the Nobel Peace in 1992. Such acclaim, however, has incited critics to question her narrative, as does anthropologist David Stoll in Rigoberta Menchu and the Story of All Poor Guatemalans. It was also revealed that in 1998, a single car in Nigeria emitted 29,600kg of hydrocarbons, 34,000kg of Nitrogen Oxides and 4,029 kg of different carbonate gasses over its average lifespan.[iii] CAUSES OF POLLUTANTS IN VEHICLE 5. Motor vehicle use is now generally recognised as the source of more air pollution than any other single activity in cities around the world. The internal combustion engine of a vehicle produces power by burning fuel and changing the chemical energy of fuel into heat energy. The heat energy is then converted into mechanical power. Cars and trucks do not burn all of the fuel that goes into the combustion chamber. In fact, most vehicles only burn about 85% of the fuel and as the vehicle gets older less and less fuel is burned. It is this unburned fuel that produces some harmful products which are discharged from the engine and become air pollutants.[iv] Therefore, an engine s fuel system, and its emission controls are closely interrelated. That is why attention is given to the requirements of emission control in the design and operation of all parts of the fuel system in a vehicle. EFFECTS OF POLLUTANTS IN VEHICLES 6. Adverse effects to human health include; a. This article mainly focused on the concept of agile software development. The concept of agile development is mainly based on interactions between the software developer and the consumer of the software. An agile software is something that can be fixed at the last minute due to sudden changes (Miyachi, 2011). With the ability to change the developing software at any moment in the process, it is widely believed that the cost to do this would be very high but agile method experts say that with changing software the cost will actually level out over time (Miyachi, 2011). The article mainly focused on comparing an evolutionary method to the waterfall method. The author of the article believed that the waterfall model is very unrealistic and dangerous to use as a primary development tool for any project (Gilb, 1985). The waterfall method is scheduled for a single finished date and all planning, design and analysis is done in the very beginning before the software coding begins (Gilb, 1985). The evolutionary model is based on delivering to a real user, measuring the added value to the user, and adjusting any issues (Gilb, 1985). A key difference emphasized in the article was that a system built in the evolutionary model is real and always changing while the waterfall method is not (Gilb, 1985). The waterfall method is more focused on what the software will do as compared to the evolutionary method which is more focused on how well the software will work for the client (Gilb, 1985). Gilb had the opinion that the waterfall method is no longer a method to follow (Gilb, 1985). Back in 1985, Gilb wanted to show readers that the evolutionary method was the way software should be developed and that the clients were more interested in a technology that was perfected for them (Gilb, 1985). As seen in the waterfall approach, it was very common to have a software developed for a client and the client would not even know who the developer was (Gilb, 1985). • 27. Criticisms On Porter s Theory 4) Criticisms on Porter s Theory There have been many different reactions towards Porter s theory on how nations ought to compete. Some responses were validated while others rebutted his theory. Firstly, the positive response will be discussed before focusing on the criticisms of Porter s theory. Oz (2002) implemented Porter s Diamond model to analyse the competitive advantage of five Turkish industries and the outcome was favourable and thus validated Porter s theory. For example, the uncompetitive Turkish automobile industry resulted in uncompetitive companies, while the presence of demanding buyers and hence intense local rivalry in Turkish construction and leather clothing industries pushed the companies to innovate and become globally competitive. The Turkish findings by Oz thus validated Porter s theory that indeed, competitive industries of a nation are inclined to cluster together. On the other hand, the criticisms of Porter s theory vary widely from doubts on his theory s originality (Dunning, 1993; Grant, 1991; Rugman and D Cruz, 1993) to the over reliance on global export shares as the measure of global competitiveness (Cartwright, 1993; Grant, 1991; Rugman and D Cruz, 1993). Porter s methodology was also denounced by several academics, which will be discussed below (Dunning, 1993; Rugman and D Cruz, 1993; Rugman and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several similarities as well as differences found between these the bible text and the Bhagavad text. The Bhagavad Gita is often called as the Bible of Hindus. The similarities between them can be analyzed from the facts that Bhagavat Gita and the Bible has emphasized on the love for man. The texts from both Holy books indicate the fact that God says that he loves those who love the mankind. Further, both the books have cleared that only God guides people, which can be analyzed from texts of both books. In Bhagavad Gita, It is mentioned that I am the way, supporter, lord, witness, abode, refuge, friend (Davies), while in the Bible, He dwelleth in me and I in Him (Venden). Further, both the books have emphasized on the worship of God such as it is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita that They who worship me with true devotion are in me and I in them (Davies), while it is mentioned in Bible that I in them, thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one (Venden). These texts clear the fact that both Bhagavad as well as Bible emphasized on the worship of God. Further, both the books point out towards the fact those who worship God will never be left alone, as it is mentioned in Bhagavad that Be assured that he who worships me, perishes not (Davies), while the it is mentioned in Bible that He that believeth in me shall never perish, but shall have eternal ... He was keenly observant, and he noticed the changes in the creek, the curves, and bends and the timber jam, and always he sharply noted where he placed his feet (563). Also, he picks up on other hot springs and things within the terrain from being observant and careful. The traveler starts to show just how inexperienced he is and how he really lacks the street smarts in the Yukon, when he builds the fire underneath a spruce tree along the edge of the tree line. He had to build the fire because the cold was getting to him and he needed to warm up after falling through the ice. HE was not smart, instead of putting the fire out in the open or further out without anything to come down on it to put it out, it was a lack of common sense. It was as though he had just heard his own sentence of death. For a moment he sat and stared at the spot where the fire had been. Then he grew very calm (565). He then tries to move the fire out into the open, but knows that the kindling is saturated with water from the snow falling on the fire, it became useless. He now realizes he is in trouble. DECOLORIZATION OF SOME TEXTILE DYES BY PLEUROTUS CITRINOPILEATUS AND ASPERGILLUS NIGER IMMOBILIZED ON WHEAT STRAW Abstract: The potential of wheat straw immobilized Aspergillus niger and Pleurotus citrinopileatus were studied for biodegradation ability of different types of textile dyes. Non exposed and exposed tested immobilized fungi to (1 KGy and 2 KGy) of gamma irradiation were used. The tested textile dyes were Reactive red Bx, Direct Brown BN, Direct yellow 5G, disperse orange 2 RLS, Disperse Violet 3 RS, Sulpher Black Br and Sulpher Brown SG. It was found that immobilized P. citrinopileatus exposed to (2 KGy) had more efficiency for decolorization of direct brown and direct yellow dyes. Decolorization percentage of immobilized P. citrinopileatus in Direct Brown and Direct yellow reach to 95% and 90% respectively after 8 days at 28oC. Peroxidase activity for (1 KGy) irradiated P. citrinopileatus is more than peroxidase activity of unirradiated P. citrinopileatus. RAPD.PCR has been performed to know the effect of gamma rays on P. citrinopileatus; RAPD profile shows change between unirradiated and irradiated Pleurotus citrinopileatus. After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries started to create new technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These technologies ranged from the most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of weaponry to be used in specific scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war, developed from common civilian or household items, these could only result in better use in war. These machines of war are so vast and expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would have needed to have been used to bring the war to a close. Not only were machines a large part but so was Scientific technologies, and innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many European countries two major types of transportation reigned over the newer types, these being ships and trains. Both were used extensively and the usage of them would carry into World War I, changing tactics armies took and the speed of their movement as well as their survival. Ships were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to Europe ) where Trains were only able to carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals to the front itself. The usage of the trains allowed for the movement of shells that were continually made in factories on the home front, the shells could be run along from the Factories to the shelling ... Each of these contains arias (beautiful melodies for singers), recitative (Rapidly sung dialogue), ensembles in which several people sing at the same time, and choruses. The orchestra provides an ever changing expressive accompaniment. The drama ranges from comedy to tragedy. Mozart wrote over forty symphonies, many of which are performed today. Some originally were overtures (orchestral introductions) for operas, and last only a few minutes. His later symphonies, which are the most popular, are full length orchestral compositions that last twenty to thirty minutes. Most of them consist of four sections. Mozart s last and most famous symphony, Number 41 (1788), is nicknamed the Jupiter. Mozart composed a great amount of church music, most of it for performance at the Salzburg Cathedral. He wrote Masses and shorter pieces called motets; and he set psalms to music, especially for the afternoon or evening service. The music is beautiful and varied. It includes choral and solo parts, usually with accompaniment by organ and orchestra. Mozart s best known sacred work is the Requiem (Mass for the Dead). • 36. The Sumarians Essay Sumarians, an ancient group of people who lived in southern Mesopotamia around 3500 BC, are attributed with the very first attempts to transcribe symbols onto moveable materials. The Sumarians developed a cuneiform alphabet, which were then etched into clay tablets with a triangle shaped stylus called a calamus and then allowed to dry or fired in a kiln to make them last as long as possible. The Sumarians are speculated to be the earliest people to ever use the first known written system in the world. The earliest surviving Papyrus scrolls that contain written text originate in Egypt and date back to around 2400 BC during the Fifth Dynasty of King Neferirkare Kakai, although historians have suggested papyrus could have been used as early as 3100 BC during the First Dynasty. Papyrus is a very thick paper like material that is made from the pith , center of the stem, of the papyrus plant, a reed like swamp plant that used to be found in abundance along the Nile river. This pith was cut into thin strips, pressed together, and then glued and dried to form a thin flat surface that could be written on. • 37. Compare And Contrast Essay On The Lovely Bones Compare and Contrast of the remediation of Novels to film with reference to The Lovely Bones. The Lovely Bones is a 2002 novel by Alice Sebold about a teenage girl called Susie Salmon, a 14 year old girl who was raped and murdered by her neighbour George Harvey in 1973. She then watches from her own personal Heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she comes to terms with her own death. We follow Susie Salmon throughout the story as she witnesses the events on the earth, experiencing hopes and longings for the everyday things she can no longer do. In 2005 Director Peter Jackson secured the books film rights and created his own film adaptation in 2009 which was met with mixed reviews but overall was well received. The film relatively stays faithful to the novel by Alice Sebold but major themes of the story are glanced over or emphasized, characters aren t as developed and some major plot points are missing entirely. The novel The Lovely Bones has many characters who each have their own subplots which contribute to the overall story in minor ways and gives the reader the opportunity to learn about each character. For example one of the biggest elements of the story is Heaven and its depiction. In the novel Sebold who was raised Episcopalian intended the heaven to be simplistic in design and not to be the focus of the story. Unlike in Peter Jackson s film where heaven is ultimately a large proportion of the film, focusing more on spectacle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Imports are goods that are brought in from a foreign country to sell here. The people or firms import goods are usually manufacturers that produce apparel in another country, and wholesalers and retailers acting as importers. Retailers want to give their customers the best quality products at the lowest prices. Therefore, ever increasing amounts of textiles, apparel, and accessories are being imported into the United States and the European Union (EU) because of the availability of cheaper labor in low wage countries. American and European manufacturers compete with labor rates of 69 cents per hour in parts of China and 60 cents or less in India. Traditionally, imports were fashion merchandise designed and produced by foreign designers and manufacturers and purchased by domestic retailers at international markets. The United States has long imported fashion from Paris, woolens in the British Isles, sweaters from Scandinavia, and leather goods from Italy. Currently, the European Economic Community, followed by the United States, is the largest importer of consumer apparel in the world.
