2. Comparing Genesis And The Flood Story Of Genesis Vs....
Throughout human existence, different cultures share stories that may have many meanings; from
explaining why mankind exists to how a hero defeats a forest monster. Two well known stories are
Genesis and Gilgamesh. Both stories contain a part where there is a flood that wipes out mankind.
Although two different stories, the flood story from Genesis and the flood story from Gilgamesh share
a plethora of similarities that connect the two stories. Some key similarities include the cause of the
flood, the animals on the boat, and the way of how each hero in the two stories find dry land. Firstly,
the reason for the floods in both stories involve the wiping out of mankind. In the story of Genesis,
God believed the mankind became lawless. The Lord saw how great was man s wickedness on earth,
and how every plan devised by his mind was nothing but evil all the time. (Genesis). Although God
created mankind, the actions of them did not please him and he no longer believed they were worthy
living on earth any longer, which concluded him creating a massive flood to wipe them out. In
comparison, the flood story in Gilgamesh shares a similar storyline. The gods believed that the
humans were too loud and wild; resulting to their lack of sleep. In those days the world teemed, the
people multiplied, the world bellowed like a wild bull, and the great god was aroused by the clamour.
(The Story of the Flood). Therefore, the flood was constructed to wipe out humankind so that the gods

3. Georges Seurat s Young Woman Powdering Herself
At the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston I choose Georges Seurat s painting, Young Woman Powdering
Herself . Seurat s painting portrays Seurat s mistress who Georges kept a secrete relationship with for
about 3 years. Georges Seurat carries out Young Woman Powdering Herself during the 19th century.
Majority of Georges Seurat s work is considered to have a French/ Impressionist style. The medium
and technique used for Young Woman Powdering Herself is an oil on canvas. By using oil paints on
his work, Seurat is able to make the colors as well as the vivid colors on his work standout, which
ultimately reinforces the subject.
There were no evident clues in which showed why Georges Seurat painted Young Woman Powdering
Herself. However, one can infer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two elements Seurat s uses in his work are light and pointillism. The use of theses two elements
help brings femininity and beauty to his painting. Georges is known for bringing out light in how it
appears in nature in his work. Through the of the medium of pointillism, Seurat is able to create a
bigger picture in his work. Seurat use of the element light helps show hoe light bounce around. For
instance, the way the light travels through the open window and bounces off of the young woman s
skin shows the light that is being presented. Through this, Seurat reveals the light in places where the
light hits first.
Through Georges Seurat s use of numerous shades of color such as tint, value, warms colors, and cool
colors he is able to create a certain mood/feeling. His use of tint in multiple areas helps bring depth to
the painting. The use of value of the colors is used to portray the lightness and darkness in the
painting. The usage of warm colors in the painting, which is primarily around the woman in the center
create a mood of warmth toward her. Lastly, the use of cool colors in the background aid in allowing
the viewer to focus more on the woman and the

5. What{s Catatonic Schizophrenia
Catatonic Schizophrenia is a specific type of schizophrenia, or brain malfunction, which is
distinguished by extreme, yet direct opposite behaviors. Its symptoms focus on movement and motor
skills. You might be more familiar with the catatonic stupor , where the individual is incapable of
movement, speech or response to external stimuli.
Oppositely, catatonic schizophrenia manifests as voluntary bizarre movements, repetitive nonsensical
words and/or sounds. Basically, an individual gets stuck either in a trance like state or in a hyper
excited state. Both types are serious, but treatable.
To receive a diagnosis of catatonic schizophrenia, an individual must first be diagnosed with
schizophrenia. Once all the symptoms are evaluated, it will become obvious whether or not they
qualify for the specific catatonic diagnosis.
What are Symptoms Specific to Catatonic Schizophrenia?
Malfunctioning Motor Skills Incapable of body movement. Mutism. Body clenched in a stiff position.
No awareness of environment.
Waxy Flexibility Person appears like a wax figure, remaining immobile, but body is flexible. For
example, if a limb is repositioned, the individual will hold it in that position and stare, barely blinking
until the limb falls back down from fatigue.
Excessive, Constant Mobility Frenzied pacing, spinning in circles, flailing of arms, constantly moving
but going nowhere.

6. Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee
Daddy Bee
When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we
follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how the
law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of Americas
civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man named Sonny
Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend dumps him so he
decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment when a five year old kid
name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the father. Nevertheless, Julian
is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of torts,
negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the
analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media.
Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of
common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an
awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee Movie
the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it was not his
intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still someone who
got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result, having torts provide
incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides compensation, and fairness in
the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with Adam committing the injury he
has to take responsibility for an action that he did.
Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for the
fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping the kid
was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that Sonny
did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his

7. Reflection On The Indian Boarding School Gathering
I was able to attend the Indian Boarding School Gathering conference at the Turtle Mountain
Community College. Listening to the stories, you could really feel the affection and how it affected
our elders. I was saddened to hear the many awful stories about how our people survived this terrible
event, let alone how the children had to grow up. However, according to the stories, there was both
good memories and bad. As I recall Mrs. McCleave mentioning, the saying Kill the Indian and save
the man , was from the federal government. This was Pratt s motto. It was stressed that civilizing the
Indians by teaching them English, and then converting them to Christianity and allowing them to

brush it under the rug. Although they may feel broken, they are warriors for overcoming everything
and remaining strong. Children were not able to speak their native tongue, or wear their clothing attire

9. Description Of Personality Testing And Assessment
Introduction Personality testing and assessment refers to investigate into the features of a person s
aspects of character and psychosomatic make up. This is majorly done in organizations for numerous
reasons. As recorded in Frank (2004), the initial making of personality assessment was to aid in easing
the process of selecting workers for the army. Since this initial invention, much development has been
experienced in personality assessment. This is apparent through the existence of timely mechanisms
that have been simply invented to help in individuality assessment. The major tests that are in use up
to this century are the five factor models, the MMPI and the MBTI by Meyers that uses Briggs
indicators (Harwood, Beutler Groth Marnat, 2011). Above all, the important mechanisms that come
with personality are meant to test the intention of doing the assessment. Conclusively, the ideal factor
of doing assessment is the application of the basic details as the line of making decisions. This is why
it has been crucial to put together both trait and psychological aspects as the primary elements of
appraisal. As time goes by, one may want to ask a significant query of whether the activity of
personality testing is taking a new dimension. This is to do with the discernible shift in personality
classification variables in the entire activity of assessment. The variables have become highly dynamic
providing need for an analysis of this topic.

16. The Silk Road Essay
The Silk Road was an intricate and evolving network of overland trade routes that linked China, India,
and western Eurasia for centuries. The trade route was key to the diffusion and transportation of
technology, goods, religions, and language throughout Asia, the Mediterranean, Africa and southern
Europe. As the strongest link between major population centers in the largest landmass on earth, the
Silk Road was one of the most important of all long distance trade routes in human history.

Inner Eurasia now had channels of communication across Eurasia.
Early evidence of trade along the Silk Roads comes from the so called Oxus civilization, a group of

leans toward the idea of cooperation between urban merchants and pastoralists. Over time,
sophisticated systems of trade emerged that was organized in caravans sometimes with hundreds of

The first person/character is Rodrigo. Rodrigo is blinded by his love for Desdemona and is prepared to
try anything to win her heart. This makes him an easy target for Iago, as Rodrigo will do anything to

How does the development of core competencies provide both advantages and disadvantages for an
organisation? What steps can managers take to prevent core competencies becoming core rigidities? In
today s world competition among firms becomes globalized and more intense. In order to become
superiorly competitive, companies should enhance its competencies in a way that will allow them to
achieve dominant position in a market. One way of accomplishing it is by development of core
competencies. Competencies are considered core if they are skillfully performed and are principal to
company s strategy and its competiveness (Thompson et al, 2013). They are result of collective

For instance, mentioned by some participants in the discussion, Nokia lost its leadership in production
of mobile phones as they were unable to adapt to the new era of phones pioneered by Iphone. There
has been general consensus throughout the discussion that applying dynamic capabilities approach can
prevent core competencies becoming core rigidities. The idea of dynamic capabilities lies in a
necessity of a company to create, extend and modify its resource base, whether it would be minor
continuous improvements; creation of new resources or combination of existing ones in new ways; or
a complete renewing of the resource base, depending on how dynamic the environment is, in order to
sustain competitive advantage and address external changes. What is important here is the managers
perception of the environmental dynamism that providesthe basis for their ability to identify the need
for changes and extend those changes when necessary. According to Amrosini et al (2009), managers
who fail to identify correctly the environmental dynamism may react not accordingly to the actual
environment and, thus, apply insufficient changes (risk of strategic shift), prefer predictability of

The title of Wallace Stevens poem, Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird, is misleading, because
he does not only offer thirteen ways of looking at blackbird, but the poem offers us many insights on
how humans think. Blackbird , written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, has many similarities
with Thirteen Ways of Looking at A Blackbird other than just their titles. They use many poetic
conventions to explain their poem s ideas, both writers use a blackbird to compare to humans and
human nature, and imagery plays a big role in getting across their points. Sometimes poets use
different conventions to give the poem a better flow. Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird , by
Wallace Stevens uses assonance to make the poem have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But how does a glass coach cast a shadow? Why are there now multiple blackbirds? Poets have many
tools to convey what they are trying to say, but the most effective and interesting way is by using
imagery. This puts a picture in the mind of the reader to go along with the words. Imagery is used
many times in both Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird and Blackbird. The best example of
imagery from Wallace s poem is found in stanza six: Icicles filled the long window With barbaric
glass The shadow of the blackbird Crossed it, to and fro... This stanza portrays a feeling of being
enclosed in a room. The icicles that fill the window remind us of bars on a jail window, which portrays
a closed in feeling. How does this affect how we see the blackbird? Through the window we cannot
see the blackbird itself, possibly referring to the beauty of inflections in stanza five. We can, though,
see the blackbirds shadow, possibly the beauty of innuendoes? This closed in feeling depicts how,
many times, we limit ourselves to our own preferences and opinions. As you can see, Stevens uses his
imagery to present symbolic elements in his work. In the song Blackbird, Lennon and

25. Argumentative Essay On Student Debt
Student Debt. Few words drive more fear into the hearts of parents and teenagers alike.
With college graduates now owing more than $1.5 trillion in debt and nearly five million Americans in
student loan default, borrowing for higher education is quickly spiralling out of control. Universities
are one of the best places for wholesome instruction, but what good are these institutions when no one
can pay for their resources? In order to alleviate the problem, many politicians have proposed plans to
make all public college tuition free for students under a set income threshold. Although it may seem
like just the solution that is needed, making college tuition free, even for a select group of students, is
not the best option and would fail to solve the fundamental cause of the student debt crisis in the first
place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In just fiscal year 2014 alone, public colleges collected over $58 billion in tuition, nearly double the
$31 billion the government already spends on grants for institutions. To simply waive $58 billion
would necessitate a dramatic increase in government spending to compensate, and, by extension, a
dramatic increase in taxes. Not all students at all colleges have troubles with debt, either. The majority
of students who have problems paying off their student loans are those who attended small for profit
schools or community colleges, as those who attend more expensive schools, despite borrowing more,
often end up with higher salaries once they enter the job market. Moreover, what would be done about
those who have already graduated from community college with debt on their shoulders? Waiving
tuition for all public universities would not resolve these problems; instead, the burden would merely
be shifted to taxpayers, hindering economic growth and leaving those with existing debt out of

27. Respectful Relationship Theory
Introduction
In this reflection journal I will be discussing Ata growing respectful relationship theory, which I chose
to use for Kate s case study, and Ecological systems theory, which was used for Hone s case study. I
will further reflect on the appropriateness of the two theories in relation to these given case studies.
Lastly I will look at the application of these theoretical frameworks.
Theories
Reflecting back on Kate s case study I feel that Pohatu s ata growing respectful relationship I m
unsure if ata was the most suitable model to use with Kate. I personally felt then that initially I needed
to develop a rapport with Kate first to build an effective and trusting relationship if we were to work

Therefore I felt that Urie Brofennbrenner ecological systems theory was best suited for Hone as it
looks at the environment that surrounded the individual and how the impact of each system could
affect them. The ecological systems perspective looks at the bigger picture of the individual. it
regonises the relationship between environment and individual, for example the relationship between
Hone and his school. In social work practice it helps to regonise the influence of the environment on
the individual weather it be directly or indirectly. The application of the ecological systems theory
enables me to identify the factors from each of Hone s system, which was causing an impact on him.
Through the applying the systems theory I was able to gain to a better knowledge of understanding to
his erratic behaviour and awareness that there were some underlying issues that needed to be
addressed as well. Hone s mother leaving him when he was born is one the many or not root of the
underlying issues. Again like Kate s case study I feel that another model would be working in
conjunction with systems theory such as Freud s psychodynamic theory. I feel that the individual
needs to be explored also and why they are behaving in such manner. The psychodynamic theory is
about the exploration of the inner self and how the unconscious forces drive human behavior, how the
clients identify the conflicts and their experiences. This will help to understand the hidden meanings
in things that Hone say, think, or is engaging in such as smoking or cutting

The Role of Economic Theory Economic theory is an essential part in economic research, and even
more so when discussing the development of city projects. The idea that the implementation of
policies in budgetary issues would improve people s lives is attractive to budget administrators and
city administrators alike (Varian, 1989). In fact, it is most useful for evaluating the answers to
common problems faced by local organizations. The determining factor is based on the approach
taken to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. The use of Cost Benefit Analysis in City Projects ,
such as the Sanford Riverwalk, provides strategic analysis and planning of the recreational incentives
for city residents. The city is based around surrounding popular cities known for their parks and
recreation. The City of Altamonte Springs, Daytona Beach, and the City of Orlando are known for
their state parks and touristic areas. Because the development of such a project would contribute to a
competitive market and enhance the face value of the city, it is part of the overall analysis of the
research conducted on this particular project. Influence of Economic Theory Economic theory was

Although our modern society would be more convenient and comfortable compared with 30 years

impacts forest ecology system is significant developing recently however, human activities are also
damaging the global environment almost the same as development of new technology. Human
activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, agriculture and increased deforestation are contributing to
climate change. It is clear that people have to protect forests to decrease the climate change. In
addition, it requires not only national commitment but also individual actions solutions.
The technology of transportation is one of the typical issue for climate change due to carbon dioxide

So you want to know what the title means stay here and you can see. My grandparents decided to
surprised me with a trip going to Scotland, London, then Paris. When this happened I was overjoyed
because I was going to be able to see my cousins and one was getting married when we were there.
This trip was a two week trip from Aug. 31 to July 12. Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift
card so I would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in the USA.
When we got there, we got settled in at our family s place. The first night we had fish and chips on the

My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for her. They had their
wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was perfect, but it rained when we were
walking to the after party where we had a fun time. On the wedding day, my third cousin, named
Hannah, did my hair for the wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding wore kilts.
We walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar. The castle I
liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa could not wait for bangers and
mash. When we were shopping and walking around Edinburgh we saw Scottish bagpipe player.

38. America s Tax Policy Is Not Appropriate For The United...
A very controversial topic in today s society is America s tax policy. Currently, there is three different
solutions to the current tax system. One is lowering the rate for progressive tax, our current tax
system, which is progressively higher tax rate with more income. The second is fair tax, which is
where people are only taxed for buying goods, not their income. The most suitable solution, is where
everyone is treated fairly and must pay the same percentage of tax; this is known as flat tax. Our
current tax policy is not appropriate for the United States of America.
The current tax system is named progressive tax. Progressive tax is established off the people who
make more money pay more in taxes while the people who make less money pay less in taxes. This
system does not fit in well with today s society because the more compensated are charged much more
than the less compensated, the top 1% of taxpayers have consistently paid more in federal income
taxes than the bottom 90% since 2003 and that share has increased almost every year since 1980
(Phillips). Having the top 1% of taxpayers pay more than the super majority of the country is
extraordinarily unfair to the 1%. A main principle of the United States is equality, so the tax policy
should be more equal. With flat tax enacted every person would be paying the identical percentage of
tax. With this in mind, it is not exactly equal, but very close. On the flip side, it does give the lower
income people a break while
