Universal Preschool System
Questions of Need: Universal Preschool Would Duplicate the Existing Preschool System
The Heritage Foundation report noted that 45 early childhood education programs already existed,
costing an estimated $45 million each year, and that many of the programs are duplicative and
ineffective, failing to serve the needs of children from low income families (Burke and Sheffield,
2013). In addition, the evidence showing that the public sector is a good provider of early childhood
education is lacking. The 2001 Gilliam study reviewed state run preschool programs and found that
less than half of the current state funded preschool programs have, or are currently conducting, impact
evaluations of the effectiveness of their programs and that of these ... Show more content on

Practitioners always want to search for the best possible therapy to achieve the best care to patients.
Also, therapists want to ensure possible way of treatment to achieve the most effective to patient care.
One of the best approaches is an integrative medicine. The integrative medicine is a term that is used
to explain a different method of treatment and care in the medical field. Everyone needs to understand
that there is a different prospective between the alternative medicine, western medicine and integrative
medicine. In my opinion, the integrative medicine is a combination therapy that consists of alternative

Argumentative Speech On Athenian Republic
I Eryximachus am here at the assembly today to speak to you all about an important issue regarding
all Athenians. I came here today to revise the citizen franchise by giving credit to those who deserve
it. Athens, right now, is experiencing hardships from the war. We the citizens of Athens must unite the
people of our great polis to join together in returning our polis back to the mighty Athens. The only
way to do such is by resigning the law granting any resident of Athens citizenship with an Athenian
born father. We discredit most of our Athenian residents who in all our ways earn the deserving credit
and political stance in our polis. The most important discredited being women and metics. Granting
them political rights is only for the benefit of Athens which is why I am speaking here today. I am sure
to get many opposed looks and thoughts at first, but please hold your opinions until you hear what I
have to say. Athens well being is my only concern, and I hope, as I look at all of you, that it is yours as
well.
The first item of agenda is the women population and what they do offer us. Hold back your confusion
and look not on what we always believe to be right but what I have to tell you today about women and
their value. Think about fertility, the ritual of peplos, civic cults, and funerary rites. Think about
yourself, your uncles, and sons and remember that without women s abilities to bear children Athens
would not be able to produce soldiers or philosophers the

Bridge Science
Science Questions
Identify and discuss the design elements that you incorporated into your bridge.
Design Elements: While building this bridge, the first design element, was the deck design. We took
around one horizontal length of vertical popsicle sticks and lined them side by side, and repeated.
Later we connected them together with a horizontal popsicle stick. I then took two lines and placed
them ontop of eachother to create a flat surface. This way it will carry a lot of weight, and it will also
run smoothly. After this I created trusses to put on the side, so that the weight would be evenly
distributed amongst the bridge, instead of all the weight on one part. This would help stop the bridge
from immediately bending once weights were put into the bucket. To make the trusses I had to take
popsicle sticks and glue them into a triangle shape, and then glue them together from the bottom. This
way they wouldn t break apart. I then doubled them up so that it would be able to sustain more weight.
Under the bridge I placed a lot of beams, so that the bridge would hold together from the bottom,
instead of immediately bending once I placed a weight. I made the beam from gluing ... Show more

Aristotle on Friendship Essay
Aristotle On Friendship
Philosophical Ethics December 6, 1995
Friendship is undoubtedly one of the most important elements in the books of Aristotle s ethical
principles. Aristotle takes the idea of friendship to a serious degree. He categorizes them into three
groups or types of friendships. This report will attempt to define each type of friendship as well as
identify the role of friendship in a society. Aristotle considers friendship to be a necessity to live. He
claims that no individual would chose to live without friends even if the individual had all of the other
good things in life. He also describes friendship as a virtue and as just. Given the above statements on
friendship, it is safe to say ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are quick to create and destroy friendships because their affection changes as fast as the things
that please them do.
Aristotle felt that this sort of pleasure changes rapidly. The young also have a tendency to fall in love,
thus creating an erotic friendship which is swayed by the feelings and based on pleasure. Finally, we
have what is considered the by Aristotle as the perfect friendship. This is called the friendship based
on goodness. This kind of friendship is between those that desire the good of their friends for their
friend s sake not their own. Each friend loves the other for what he is, not for a particular quality. This
type of friendship can last as long as the friends remain good. The friendship just might last forever.
Aristotle considers it a permanent friendship because in it are all of the attributes that friends ought to
possess. This friendship differs than the others mentioned because all the parties involved have each
other s qualities. There is no need to use the other for pleasure or utility. They are in it for each other.
As you can see, Aristotle held friendship in high regard. He considered it something to better the
society as well as the individual. His definitions of the types of friendships can make one relate to his
or her own friends. One can try to determine the type of friendships that one may have or wish to have
with his or her friends. It would certainly be a challenge in today s day

John Milton Satan Quotes
Paradise Lost is a re telling of the well known story of Adam and Eve. John Milton begins Paradise
Lost by formally stating his poem s subject: humankind s first act of disobedience toward God and the
fall of humanity which followed after. The act is Adam and Eve s consumption of the forbidden fruit
from the Tree of Knowledge, which is told in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. However, their
actions were in response to a serpent s trickery. According to many Christian traditions, this serpent is
Satan, the angel who rebelled against God and fell from heaven to hell where he became pitted against
God and all humanity. However, in Paradise Lost, Milton complicates this set role of Satan. Milton s
Satan is an extraordinary and majestic figure that we find difficult to avoid feeling sympathy towards,
and impressed by his pride and leadership skills. (unafraid of being damned eternally, prideful, a
strong leader, comparable to the size of a Titan, and ingeniously develops his own heaven out of hell.)

However, he is also the most likeable character in Paradise Lost. OK, maybe likeable is going a bit too
far, but many readers of the poem have found it difficult to not identify with him and to avoid
sympathizing with him. When he wakes up in Hell, chained to a burning lake, how can we not feel a
bit sorry for him (put sad quote of him chained to the lake). All Satan wanted to achieve was to
overthrow God, which is impossible anyways because God has universal power. But he doesn t give
up when he fails/falls. (find quote about Satan destroying humanity) this is a another admirable trait
that Satan has because he wont give up once he starts something, he goes and finishes it. A lot of
readers can identify with him because it is a characteristic we see in

Essay about The Extent to Which Tudor Rebellions Have...
The Extent to Which Tudor Rebellions Have Similar Causes
Tudor rebellions were caused by one or more of the following factors: dynastic, political, religious,
and social and economic. There was an element of both similarity and continuity in the period as most
of the rebellions were politically motivated starting with Warbeck s rebellion in 1491 until the end of
the period with Essex s rebellion in 1601. This displays clear political motives across the period.
During the reign of Henry VII, many of the rebellions were dynastically motivated with a series of
challenges from pretenders to the throne, Simnel and Warbeck and rebellions due to heavy taxation;
Yorkshire and Cornish anti tax riots. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, dynasty was still a cause of Tudor rebellions but was replaced by succession especially
as Henry VIII did not have an heir and he himself did not have a legitimate claim to the throne. This
occurred with the political coup of Lady Jane Grey in 1553 and Wyatt s rebellion in 1554 because of
Henry VIII s reinstatement of both Mary and Elizabeth who had both been previously removed from
succession. The treason acts help to reduce rebellion as it became easier to convict people of treason
but by the end of the period the Tudor dynasty itself was far more secure meaning that Wyatt never
made public his desire to overthrow Mary as the Tudor regime was now accepted.
Politically motivated rebellions always involved faction. Simnel and Warbeck s rebellion were both
politically motivated due to Yorkist and Lancastrian faction. Faction was of low importance in Henry
VII s reign as Henry Tudor limited it by control of patronage unlike both Elizabeth and Henry VIII
who advocated it. They had a divide and rule policy. The most common theme that ran throughout all
the politically motivated rebellions was resentment of lowborn ministers, for example, Wolsey in
1525, Cromwell in 1556 and Essex in 1601 wanted to rid parliament of Cecil the

Taking a Look at the Human Eye
The human eye is an organ that reacts to light and has several purposes. As a conscious sense organ,
the eye allows vision. Rods and cones in the retina allow light perception and vision including color
differentiation and the conscious perception of depth. The human eye can distinguish 10 million
colors. The eye is composed of three layers, enclosing three transparent structures .
The outer layer , called the fibrous tunic is comprised of the cornea and sclera . The middle layer ,
called the vascular tunic or uvea is the choroid , ciliary body and the iris. The innermost part of the eye
is the retina , which gets its circulation from the vessels of the choroid and retinal vessels , which can
be seen in an ophthalmoscope .
The blood vessels can be seen in the sclera , and a strong ring around the iris limbo . Within these
coats are the aqueous humor , vitreous humor and the flexible lens . The aqueous humor is a clear
fluid that is contained in two areas: the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris and the
posterior chamber between the iris and lens.
The lens is suspended in the ciliary body in the suspensory ligament , composed of transparent fibers .
The vitreous is a clear gel that is larger than the aqueous humor is behind the lens , and the rest is
enclosed by the sclera , zonule , and lens. They are connected by the pupil .
As the eyes of other mammals, the ganglion cells of the human eye is not sensitive image forming on

Social Media And Its Impact On New Media
The widespread use of social media and the resulting transition to a system dependent on new media
has fundamentally changed the ways in which we communicate. One significant aspect of
communication that has been drastically altered is the news media and their presence on social media
sites such as Twitter primarily as a result of our changing interactions with and procurement of the
news. Over the course of the last semester, I worked as an Assistant Producer for both Unify and
Activism Media, which are sister companies. One of the most significant experiences I had during my
internship was in my work as a journalist for Activism Media. I was assigned to cover the public s
responses to the death of Michael Brown and the subsequent protests following the failure to indict
both Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo (also known as the Shut it Down protests). My experiences
during this assignment illustrated a number of theoretical concepts in the media studies field chiefly:
citizen journalism, agenda setting, and framing. The creation of the printing press and news media
significantly altered the world s ability to communicate. Many scholars have argued that with the
printing press came a transformation of the public sphere and the public s ability to discuss and
identify societal issues. Jürgen Habermas, a German sociologist and philosopher, posits that early
modern capitalism created conditions for this bourgeois public sphere to emerge. Numerous
conditions permitted

Lessons Learned In My Writing
I have learned that in order to write a good, meaningful essay I have to always be prepared so I can
never be caught off guard with my writing. I learned that organization is always helpful when it comes
to writing. Mark Twain said, Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out the wrong words. One has
to first write and then see the errors, so they can fix them and end up with the best piece of work. I
learned that making a list of things I know about my topic before writing my essay is going to help me
out with the structure and facts in my writing. Donald Barthelme said Writing is a process of not
knowing, a forcing of what and how. And I would have to disagree with him. Like I said, making a list

Orwell also said, Sheer egoism. Desire to seem clever, to be talked about, to be remembered after
death, to get your own back on the grown ups who snubbed you in childhood, etc., etc. Readers not
always get the humor and sarcasm that some authors include in their writing but that s what makes the
readers wonder if the author is really being serious or not. Sarcasm makes the readers come back and
wanting more. Now that I learned all this new techniques, I can use them on my writing and hope for
the best. Now I know I should write the list of things I know about my topic before writing my essay
only after my sugar daddy is done telling me one of his stories about the party he once went with
Hugh Hefner, and not write the list the thing I know while he is telling me his story and I m not paying

Jealousy In Eli Bodeen s The Compound
There are many actions the characters make in the book The Compound. For example, Eli tricked his
brother, Eddy, into going with their grandma to go get Eddy s meds so Eli could get the first airplane
ride. This action shows some competition and maybe a little jealousy. Some jealousy because Eddy
always got to do things first and was popular. Eli wanted to be the head of the show this time. Because
he did this, it caused Eddy and their grandma to be left out of the compound (Bodeen, 2008, p. 2). If
Eli didn t act like this, the entire family would be in the compound. There are many things that can be

Clea, could produce milk. But the kids were Eli s siblings. The yellow room is symbolic because it
represents the experiments Rex created. The room locks in the supplements. It shows protectiveness
and danger for the supplements. Another reason it is symbolic is it is where Eli saved the supplements
and met them. On one hand it might have been a good choice, but now I think it was a horrible idea
and they should treat Lucas, Cara, and, Quinn like part of the family. I think Rex and Clea made a bad
decision. If Eli never walked in that room, Eli would never have seen them or been close to them. This
decision in the world today wouldn t be noticed because many people become pregnant and send their
children away. Many don t take care of their children or they abuse them. This is definitely not right.

In the ninth century, Vikings began to raid Ireland, eventually conquering and settling on the island.
The strong Irish culture influenced the Viking conquerors way of life, rather than an invader s long
term domination would suggest. Anglo Norman invaders arrived in Ireland in 1169, attempting to
colonize the island over the next 500 years. The invaders began to expand their influence across the
island by means of force. These attacks caused rebellions from the Irish people, as they were no
strangers to aggression from the East. Religious persecution of Catholic Irish grew in particular after
the accession of Elizabeth I, a Protestant, to the throne in 1558. Oliver Cromwell s subsequent siege of
Ireland in 1649 ended with massacres of Catholics at Drogheda and Wexford and forced the
resettlement of thousands, many of whom lost their homes in the struggle. By 1691, with the victory
of Protestant English King William III over the Catholic forces of James II, Protestant supremacy in
Ireland had become complete. Catholics in Ireland suffered greatly in the subsequent period of British
occupation, enduring laws that prevented them from bearing arms, holding public office and
restricting their rights to an education. While many of those rights were eventually restored, the
animosity between Catholics and Protestants remained. (Washington Post, 1999). A group of Irish

Poor university students would search the markets for the best price on radio parts and then use said
parts to create a radio to resell (DrSenbei). However, the black market craze did not last too long
because open air markets were banned in 1949 to stop the unregulated trades. Stall owners fought
back by rallying with the Vendors Union at government buildings. The government s response was to
allot space for the merchants on the station grounds. Many merchants went around this by building
their own stores, some of which were seven stories tall. They used these stores to capitalize the post
war economy through the sale of household electronics (DrSenbei). The next generation had unlimited
luxuries because of their fathers large salaries. Their time was occupied with any new gadget that
came out, and they sparked the beginning of the otaku (diehard fan) revolution that has now taken

With the creation of computers and the internet, the building blocks for a new Akihabara were set in

families to young men looking to set up shop. Personal Computers were being sold more often than
household electronics by 1994. This is what truly changed the future of the Akihabara district

which citizens of Germany and Austria were influenced to join in Nazi ideology and policies or to
resist them.
In this assessment, you need to research the influence of the different individuals and organisations

Captain Americ The American Dream
Captain s Duty From Captain America s birth, he symbolized America. In and out of costume, Captain
America, AKA Steve Rodgers, exemplifies all the best qualities of America. He embodies the
American dream. America continues to grow more diverse every day, yet still Steve remains the
undying patriotic example of what it means to be American.
The American dream in simple terms is the fulfillment of the ideals the America was founded on with
equal respect. To go into more detail, the American Dream allows all people the rights of liberty,
autonomy, justice, dignity, the pursuit of happiness, and the ability to hold the country s leaders
accountable when they fail to uphold these rights. Because the American dream applies to all people

The patriotic symbol of the American dream has numerous times dissented from the ruling political
powers. Steve Rodgers lives the life of a patriot through and through, but it is important to understand
what it means to live patriotically. Captain America s patriotism doesn t hinge on blind passion of one
s country right or wrong or on the us versus them mentality produced during war times. These types of
patriotisms prevent the betterment of the world at large. These exclusionary patriotisms neglect the
dignity of other peoples and creates the illusion that anyone who thinks differently belongs to the them
party. Instead, Cap s patriotism lies of Stephen Nathanson s philosophic moderate patriotism, which
balances devotion to one s country with ethical demands to care for all (White 147). Captain America
embraces the shared humanity of people across national borders. He would strongly support
Nathanson s claim that so long as devotion to one s country do not lead to immoral actions, then
patriotism can be laudable. When concern for the own country blinds people to the legitimate needs
and interests of other nations, then patriotism becomes a vice (White147). Captain America believes
countries have the right to pursue its interest, but this should be done with consideration of other
nations and peoples and not at the cost of the countries principles. Captain America s cosmopolitan
patriotism puts him at odds with the government three

A Brief Note On Tackle Complex Policy Issues
The most interesting part of the article to me is how it explains how to tackle complex policy issues
and exactly what the hardest problems are to agree on how to mitigate/combat most efficiently. The
paper discusses the most complex policy issues and their characteristics, how to tackle them with
possible strategies, avoiding the narrow approach and instead the need for flexible approaches, the
importance of working across organisation boundaries, reviewing the framework, effectively engaging
with stakeholders, and the importance of achieving behaviour change within the citizens. I have not
come across anything similar to this before, and so I feel indifferent towards the attitude of the paper; I

Discussion: Public transport services can have social and environmental impacts; these include air and
noise pollution, land disturbance (train tracks), and traffic congestion. According to the Australian
Bureau of Statistics (2003), there is concern that current technology for powering transport systems
may be unsustainable in the long term , which is why funding is needed to upgrade to renewable trains
and trams. Although public transport emits carbon dioxide (CO2), the emission is significantly lower
compared to private vehicles; public transport such as trains use 2%, whilst private vehicles (cars) use
43% (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2003).
Resources required: According to the Government of South Australia in Department of Planning,
Transport, and Infrastructure (n.d.), recent upgrades to one of the train lines to be electrified cost $2
billion. It is expected other lines will estimate to cost around the same budget.
Risks: The risks associated with this proposal revolve around political, legal, economic, and
environmental risks. Recently, Adelaide Metro employees were on strike due to low pay; if the
Government were to build more train tracks and improve the services by creating more routes, the
employees may go on strike again, creating a political and legal risk. An economic risk is

Social Media Interaction Effects on Relationships Social media have become integrated deeply in

Discuss the Symbolism and Motifs in the ‘Rabbit Proof...
Rabbit Proof Fence Discuss the symbolism and motifs in the Rabbit Proof Fence . What do they
represent and how do they contribute to the story? The film Rabbit Proof Fence conveys the
importance of family, belonging and country to the Aboriginal people and provides the audience with
an insight of the division between the Europeans and the Aboriginal people. The Director, Philip
Noyce displays these themes by the use of symbolism and motifs. Symbolism is the use of one object
to represent a notion or other object, whereas a motif is the recurrence of an object, theme, and subject
throughout the film. The Rabbit Proof Fence is based on a true story on how Aboriginal families were
treated by politicians and government. It follows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bird is also seen in Molly s flashback whilst at the Moore River Settlement, the use of a close up
of her face in bed fading to an undershot of the eagle in the sky, brought back memories and is
followed by a close up of Molly and Maude giving her the determination to escape and find their way
home. Again, when the girls are struggling on their long journey home and they collapse, Noyce uses
an extreme close up shot of Molly s eyes as she hears the sound of the eagle, her eyes slowly open and
then the film uses a low angle shot of the eagle flying above the girls in the sky. The audience senses
their vulnerability and the challenge that lies ahead. This is followed by a high angle shot of Molly
standing and looking at the eagle providing her with the inner strength to continue the journey home.
As they continue, there is an aerial shot of trees, the sound of an eagle, an example of diegetic sound
and the audience has a sense that the bird is guiding the girls home. The rabbit proof fence is the
central motif. It runs from North to South of Western Australia and was built to keep rabbits away
from farmland. It is very symbolic as when it was built it kept the Aboriginals in one place and
therefore shows how they were restricted in their movement, unlike the freedom of the spirit bird. It
symbolises the division between the Aboriginals and the Europeans. The girls are pictured as
frightened rabbits trapped on the wrong side of the fence, the same feeling as

The King Who Was Well Bred Rose And Went To Meet Her Analysis
Consider the word see in line 606, as Lanval s love enters the room she is immediately noticed. This
prompt response to her entrance straightaway reveals the implications of her beauty and the
importance it has on Lanval s trial along with the male relation the females in this time period. Women
are objectified to a certain extent yet also essential to the inner workings of society. This can also be
observed in the context of this passage due to the fact that the queen made the accusations against
Lanval and though they were lies the extensive reach of her authority is notable. Also consider the line
607 The king who was well bred rose and went to meet her (166). This line directly relates aspects of
the chivalric code to a woman s beauty due to the fact that the king was well bred he did not make her

While at the same time as exemplifying masculinity through chivalry this line also begins the
subversion of gender roles by putting the woman in the more dominant position she is now in control
of this situation. In the following line it is stated that all the others honored her and offered to serve
her (166). The use of the verbs honor and offer are direct effects of the way they see her which
continues to implicate the importance of her beauty while also putting her in a dominant role. This is
emphasized once again in lines 611 612 When they had looked at her well, when they greatly praised
her beauty (166). This is another instance in which a verb, praised, is a direct result of seeing her
beauty. This direct relation between such verbs and her presence helps to demonstrate her force and
impact as a woman along with her characterization as a sovereign being. In lines 613 614 it is stated
that she spoke in this way, she didn t want to wait

Using The Conventional Shopping Processes
Abstract With an increasingly consumerist society, the crowds and queues at the markets and stores
using the conventional shopping processes, are inevitable, our aim is to change that by making the
shopping at a store and maintaining a warehouse easy through Near Field Communication. The system
that we are going to implement cuts down the costs of maintaining a product serial number based
database and most importantly saves time in the checkout process and hence an expanding customer
base for the store that it is implemented in. We intend to make the system as intuitive as possible so
that it can be easily used by people who are not very technologically aware. We have also decided to

Manufacturing Methods For Producing Mass Production
MANUFACTURING METHODS Pistons have been used by man for 100 s of years now, for different
purposes (started with pumping). The concept of engine pistons came later, and that required the
piston s quality to change and hence the methods of manufacturing them had to be changed. Pistons
have been manufactured all these years for automobiles by the use of subtractive manufacturing
methods. A casted Aluminium or steel piston would be machined to the required surface finish,
followed by forging Aluminium or steel into rods which are cut into an approximate size and
machined thoroughly to give the shape and finish that was required. Figures As technology has

manufacturing that is highly automated using CAD/CAM programs. CAD files are converted into the
commands needed to operate a particular machining center. These commands then dictate what tools
to use and when to use them in order to properly create the features of the desired part. Combining the
use of CNC with 3D CAD, the manufacturing turnaround time for the part has dropped from 4 6
weeks to 1 2 weeks in some instances.

Education For Students With Disabilities
Educators continue to determine the best way to teach students with disabilities. As more children
with various disabilities, and other impairments learn with typical children, educators continue to learn
how to include these students in their classroom. There are challenges and benefits that continue to
emerge for educators, children with disabilities, and their non disabled peers. However, the
educational system would agree that education for students with disabilities has improved greatly.
Students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms have shown an increasing number of academic gains
in a number of areas, including better test scores, completing IEP goals, grades, behavior and
inspiration to learn. Placement in an inclusive classroom does not disrupt the academic performance of
students without disabilities; it actually enhances students performances in and outside of the
classroom. Inclusion helps students build relationships, improve social skills and much more.
According to Kathleen (2013), the types of instructional strategies found in inclusive classrooms,
including peer tutoring, cooperative learning groups, and differentiated instruction, have been shown
to be beneficial to all learners (p.2). In my classroom, I have used peer tutoring to help assist the
students who have IEPs, this teaching strategy has led to students achieving their IEP goals and
increased learning confidence in both students.

Diary Of Anne Frank Essay
he Diary of Anne Frank is a nonfiction drama by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett; it is about the
sadness of the two families, the Van Daans and the Franks in hiding with another person, Dussel. They
hide in the spice company that Mr. Frank used to own, inside a door covered by a bookcase that leads
to their secret annex. As the families stay in hiding for approximately two long years, they try to find
happiness within the cramped space that they are living in. For the most part, those hiding in the annex
are not able to find happiness because they are worried that they will get caught by the Nazis. The
inhabitants of the annex have a small amount of time where they can move around the house to avoid
being heard. As they continue to live in hiding, they realize that they had taken many things for
granted and greatly miss their lives before the Nazis came. One s sorrow comes after one realizes that
what they had previously taken for granted is gone. First, Anne demonstrates sadness through her
diary entries, actions, words, and fate. When Anne is writing in her diary during Act II, Scene I of the
drama, she talks about how she is longing for friends to talk with and how much she misses her life

Building Up Their Savings Over The Years
A good strategy that many use to build up their savings over the years, is to spend less than you earn
and put aside the money that is not used. This applies to expenses such as food, housing, vehicles, as
well as other expenses on one s budget. Rob Russell, a writer for Forbes Magazine, writes in his
article with the topic of investing mistakes, During your peak earning years you should live below
your means so you can set aside enough income each and every year that if your career comes to a
screeching halt that you ll be able to survive (Russell 4). Establishing a savings account or retirement

With higher pays, comes more things to be taxed on. It is crucial for athletes to investigate all options
that will help them to save money. Their salaries are high, but with many people after their money,
such as family, friends, and investors, it is important to know the facts and exercise safe money saving
strategies. There are a host of strategies for reducing your tax bill from tax free muni binds, to tax
deferred retirement accounts, and even investments that offer tax shelters to reduce the amount of your
income that is actually being taxed (Russell 5). Taxes affect everyone in different ways and with
changes occurring with the United States leader and new laws being considered, it is important to
know what these taxes mean and as many ways to reduce them. With taxes comes the tax return. The
problem is that most financial advisors fail to take your tax return into account when offering
investing advise, so whether you ve signed a multi million dollar recording contract or you re the
millionaire next door, it s critical to have an investment advisor that is also tax savvy (Russell5). With
financial advice from a bank or advisor, one will find that there are ways to keep from having many
taxes deducted from their salaries, which in turn will help the athlete s money to grow even more.

Universal Preschool System Questions of Need: Universal Preschool Would Duplicate the Existing Preschool System The Heritage Foundation report noted that 45 early childhood education programs already existed, costing an estimated $45 million each year, and that many of the programs are duplicative and ineffective, failing to serve the needs of children from low income families (Burke and Sheffield, 2013). In addition, the evidence showing that the public sector is a good provider of early childhood education is lacking. • 5. Argumentative Speech On Athenian Republic I Eryximachus am here at the assembly today to speak to you all about an important issue regarding all Athenians. I came here today to revise the citizen franchise by giving credit to those who deserve it. Athens, right now, is experiencing hardships from the war. We the citizens of Athens must unite the people of our great polis to join together in returning our polis back to the mighty Athens. The only way to do such is by resigning the law granting any resident of Athens citizenship with an Athenian born father. We discredit most of our Athenian residents who in all our ways earn the deserving credit and political stance in our polis. The most important discredited being women and metics. Granting them political rights is only for the benefit of Athens which is why I am speaking here today. I am sure to get many opposed looks and thoughts at first, but please hold your opinions until you hear what I have to say. Athens well being is my only concern, and I hope, as I look at all of you, that it is yours as well. The first item of agenda is the women population and what they do offer us. Hold back your confusion and look not on what we always believe to be right but what I have to tell you today about women and their value. Think about fertility, the ritual of peplos, civic cults, and funerary rites. Think about yourself, your uncles, and sons and remember that without women s abilities to bear children Athens would not be able to produce soldiers or philosophers the ... • 6. Bridge Science Science Questions Identify and discuss the design elements that you incorporated into your bridge. Design Elements: While building this bridge, the first design element, was the deck design. We took around one horizontal length of vertical popsicle sticks and lined them side by side, and repeated. Later we connected them together with a horizontal popsicle stick. I then took two lines and placed them ontop of eachother to create a flat surface. This way it will carry a lot of weight, and it will also run smoothly. After this I created trusses to put on the side, so that the weight would be evenly distributed amongst the bridge, instead of all the weight on one part. This would help stop the bridge from immediately bending once weights were put into the bucket. To make the trusses I had to take popsicle sticks and glue them into a triangle shape, and then glue them together from the bottom. This way they wouldn t break apart. I then doubled them up so that it would be able to sustain more weight. Under the bridge I placed a lot of beams, so that the bridge would hold together from the bottom, instead of immediately bending once I placed a weight. I made the beam from gluing ... • 7. Aristotle on Friendship Essay Aristotle On Friendship Philosophical Ethics December 6, 1995 Friendship is undoubtedly one of the most important elements in the books of Aristotle s ethical principles. Aristotle takes the idea of friendship to a serious degree. He categorizes them into three groups or types of friendships. This report will attempt to define each type of friendship as well as identify the role of friendship in a society. Aristotle considers friendship to be a necessity to live. He claims that no individual would chose to live without friends even if the individual had all of the other good things in life. He also describes friendship as a virtue and as just. Given the above statements on friendship, it is safe to say ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are quick to create and destroy friendships because their affection changes as fast as the things that please them do. Aristotle felt that this sort of pleasure changes rapidly. The young also have a tendency to fall in love, thus creating an erotic friendship which is swayed by the feelings and based on pleasure. Finally, we have what is considered the by Aristotle as the perfect friendship. This is called the friendship based on goodness. This kind of friendship is between those that desire the good of their friends for their friend s sake not their own. Each friend loves the other for what he is, not for a particular quality. This type of friendship can last as long as the friends remain good. The friendship just might last forever. Aristotle considers it a permanent friendship because in it are all of the attributes that friends ought to possess. This friendship differs than the others mentioned because all the parties involved have each other s qualities. There is no need to use the other for pleasure or utility. They are in it for each other. As you can see, Aristotle held friendship in high regard. He considered it something to better the society as well as the individual. His definitions of the types of friendships can make one relate to his or her own friends. One can try to determine the type of friendships that one may have or wish to have with his or her friends. • 10. John Milton Satan Quotes Paradise Lost is a re telling of the well known story of Adam and Eve. John Milton begins Paradise Lost by formally stating his poem s subject: humankind s first act of disobedience toward God and the fall of humanity which followed after. The act is Adam and Eve s consumption of the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, which is told in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. However, their actions were in response to a serpent s trickery. According to many Christian traditions, this serpent is Satan, the angel who rebelled against God and fell from heaven to hell where he became pitted against God and all humanity. However, in Paradise Lost, Milton complicates this set role of Satan. Milton s Satan is an extraordinary and majestic figure that we find difficult to avoid feeling sympathy towards, and impressed by his pride and leadership skills. (unafraid of being damned eternally, prideful, a strong leader, comparable to the size of a Titan, and ingeniously develops his own heaven out of hell.) We can argue that ... All Satan wanted to achieve was to overthrow God, which is impossible anyways because God has universal power. But he doesn t give up when he fails/falls. • 11. Essay about The Extent to Which Tudor Rebellions Have... The Extent to Which Tudor Rebellions Have Similar Causes Tudor rebellions were caused by one or more of the following factors: dynastic, political, religious, and social and economic. There was an element of both similarity and continuity in the period as most of the rebellions were politically motivated starting with Warbeck s rebellion in 1491 until the end of the period with Essex s rebellion in 1601. This displays clear political motives across the period. During the reign of Henry VII, many of the rebellions were dynastically motivated with a series of challenges from pretenders to the throne, Simnel and Warbeck and rebellions due to heavy taxation; Yorkshire and Cornish anti tax riots. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless, dynasty was still a cause of Tudor rebellions but was replaced by succession especially as Henry VIII did not have an heir and he himself did not have a legitimate claim to the throne. This occurred with the political coup of Lady Jane Grey in 1553 and Wyatt s rebellion in 1554 because of Henry VIII s reinstatement of both Mary and Elizabeth who had both been previously removed from succession. The treason acts help to reduce rebellion as it became easier to convict people of treason but by the end of the period the Tudor dynasty itself was far more secure meaning that Wyatt never made public his desire to overthrow Mary as the Tudor regime was now accepted. Politically motivated rebellions always involved faction. Simnel and Warbeck s rebellion were both politically motivated due to Yorkist and Lancastrian faction. Faction was of low importance in Henry VII s reign as Henry Tudor limited it by control of patronage unlike both Elizabeth and Henry VIII who advocated it. They had a divide and rule policy. The most common theme that ran throughout all the politically motivated rebellions was resentment of lowborn ministers, for example, Wolsey in 1525, Cromwell in 1556 and Essex in 1601 wanted to rid parliament of Cecil the ... • 13. Taking a Look at the Human Eye The human eye is an organ that reacts to light and has several purposes. As a conscious sense organ, the eye allows vision. Rods and cones in the retina allow light perception and vision including color differentiation and the conscious perception of depth. The human eye can distinguish 10 million colors. The eye is composed of three layers, enclosing three transparent structures . The outer layer , called the fibrous tunic is comprised of the cornea and sclera . The middle layer , called the vascular tunic or uvea is the choroid , ciliary body and the iris. The innermost part of the eye is the retina , which gets its circulation from the vessels of the choroid and retinal vessels , which can be seen in an ophthalmoscope . The blood vessels can be seen in the sclera , and a strong ring around the iris limbo . Within these coats are the aqueous humor , vitreous humor and the flexible lens . The aqueous humor is a clear fluid that is contained in two areas: the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris and the posterior chamber between the iris and lens. The lens is suspended in the ciliary body in the suspensory ligament , composed of transparent fibers . The vitreous is a clear gel that is larger than the aqueous humor is behind the lens , and the rest is enclosed by the sclera , zonule , and lens. They are connected by the pupil . • 15. Social Media And Its Impact On New Media The widespread use of social media and the resulting transition to a system dependent on new media has fundamentally changed the ways in which we communicate. One significant aspect of communication that has been drastically altered is the news media and their presence on social media sites such as Twitter primarily as a result of our changing interactions with and procurement of the news. Over the course of the last semester, I worked as an Assistant Producer for both Unify and Activism Media, which are sister companies. One of the most significant experiences I had during my internship was in my work as a journalist for Activism Media. I was assigned to cover the public s responses to the death of Michael Brown and the subsequent protests following the failure to indict both Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo (also known as the Shut it Down protests). My experiences during this assignment illustrated a number of theoretical concepts in the media studies field chiefly: citizen journalism, agenda setting, and framing. The creation of the printing press and news media significantly altered the world s ability to communicate. Many scholars have argued that with the printing press came a transformation of the public sphere and the public s ability to discuss and identify societal issues. Jürgen Habermas, a German sociologist and philosopher, posits that early modern capitalism created conditions for this bourgeois public sphere to emerge. Numerous conditions permitted ... For example, Eli tricked his brother, Eddy, into going with their grandma to go get Eddy s meds so Eli could get the first airplane ride. The film Rabbit Proof Fence conveys the importance of family, belonging and country to the Aboriginal people and provides the audience with an insight of the division between the Europeans and the Aboriginal people. The Director, Philip Noyce displays these themes by the use of symbolism and motifs. Again, when the girls are struggling on their long journey home and they collapse, Noyce uses an extreme close up shot of Molly s eyes as she hears the sound of the eagle, her eyes slowly open and then the film uses a low angle shot of the eagle flying above the girls in the sky. The audience senses their vulnerability and the challenge that lies ahead. As they continue, there is an aerial shot of trees, the sound of an eagle, an example of diegetic sound and the audience has a sense that the bird is guiding the girls home. The rabbit proof fence is the central motif. It runs from North to South of Western Australia and was built to keep rabbits away from farmland. It is very symbolic as when it was built it kept the Aboriginals in one place and therefore shows how they were restricted in their movement, unlike the freedom of the spirit bird.
