Evaluating Kant s Intentions For Each Premise
Here I hope to reflect Kant s intentions for each premise in the order presented above. (P1): I am
conscious of my experience as determined in time. P1 can be interpreted a few ways. Dicker in his
first interpretation takes his second premise to mean, (P2): I am aware that I have representations in
experience that occur in temporal succession (Dicker 195). In other words, I am not only conscious of
my experiences; I am also in a position where I recognize the order of my experiences presented by
my own mental representations. Ordering representations is only possible if these representations are
determined in time.
A thing which merely persists in perception does not itself reveal whether the persisting object
occurred in any particular order. (B275). So, seeing that I can determine the order in time of my own
subjective experiences, then there needs an additional capacity other than my own experiences
allowing me to do so.
Currently, we have rested the first two premises as possible. Accordingly, I will maintain subjective
experiences do not expose the determinate time order alone. This conclusion is not explicitly stated in
Dicker s reconstruction.
In the B version, Kant introduces a revised third premise (included above). Kant writes, that
representations need a second party persisting distinct from the representations. This idea illustrates
what information from representations might be sufficient in determining time orders. there seems to
be something other than the

Antarctica Ufos Research Paper
Antarctica UFO sightings are aliens flying around their old pyramid bases. After all, the remote
landmass has mysteries buried in up to three miles of ice in some areas. Maybe alien secrets are under
the ice? UFO theorists believe aliens colonized an ice free Antarctica long ago. There has been a lot of
alien activity surrounding the icy landmass, therefore suggesting it to be true.
Aliens made ancient pyramid long ago; Top officials and Nazi s knew
An ancient pyramid made by UFO aliens has been found as YouTube channel UFOvni2012 explains.
And recent research has found odd magnetic anomalies under the ice as well. These odd signals could
be the research focus that fuels the continent s mysteries beneath the ice. Officials continue to focus ...

There have been several UFO sightings around this remote area of Earth. And these UFO sightings
could be aliens visiting their old bases. An image from Google Earth may show proof of UFOs there.
The image also shows evidence of military presence. The zoomed in image shows tanks guarding an
alien crash site. There is, of course, doubts about the image. However, former officials have come
forward with alien activity.
Navy official says rescued scientists made contact with aliens
A former Navy officer came forward about aliens and UFO activity on Antarctica. He was there
between 1983 and 1997. Brian (fake name) flew cargo and rescue missions. He said he saw several
UFOs during his flights. However, the craziest stories were that of lost researchers. Brian believes the
lost researchers made contact with aliens. He said they were ghost white and in shock. Like they had
seen a ghost. Are humans alone?

How Does Mary Oliver Use Imagery In Crossing The Swamp
In Crossing the Swamp , Mary Oliver uses the Swamp as a metaphor for life s struggles when she
states Here is swamp, here is struggle and continues to expound on this metaphor throughout the
poem. She relates the physical characteristics of the swamp to going through a struggle and her use of
literary devices helps to drive this metaphor. Through her use of tone and imagery, Oliver is able to
show the transition of the relationship between the speaker and the swamp(struggles) from one of
hopelessness to one of hopefulness. At the beginning of the poem, the tone is very hopeless. The
swamp seems endless to the speaker, suggesting that they think the struggles they are facing will never
be overcome. Similarly, the swamp is thick and

Peppered Moth Essay
The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that involves
the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the 1800s. One
important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light, medium, and dark
color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor widgets can also track
these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information that were collected, not just
the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it works by using several pen update
commands which execute the global variables (light, medium, dark color moths, and population) that
were already created in the code section ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The setup and go button would help prepare the world with the specific amount of moths, and run the
stimulation respectively. The mutation slider would control the mutation rate of the moths changing
color. A lower mutation rate establish a correlation between the color of the parent moth and the color
of the offspring, whereas a high mutation rate like 100% represent that the color of the parent moth
and the offspring do not necessary have to be related. Moreover, the selection slider determine the
survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0 percent, the ever moth
have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the moth to camouflage is very
important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution levels in the environment, much
like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to manually manipulate the pollution levels of
the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider would control the rate at which the pollution
level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100 being the fastest. Lastly, the monitors would
document either the total amount of moths, the number of moths for each three types of color, the
pollution rate, or the time as shown by the number of

Analysis Of The Poem The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight
Many characters in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven show beneficial traits, physically
and mentally from telling their stories. The author of this book, Sherman Alexie, portrays that the art
of telling stories opened new avenues for native Indians to preserve or, more or less perceive their
historical and cultural traditions. One of the main characters, Thomas Builds The Fire tells stories that
had historical settings and viewpoints. They offered knowledge on tribal insights and how Indians
have experienced change over the years. Victor, the other main character in the story also tells many
stories about his past, but unlike Thomas Builds the fire, his stories are more bleak and realistic.
Storytelling helped show how the White people treated Native Indians, and how they fared against
each other. In one of the short stories The Trial of Thomas Builds the Fire , the main character Thomas
tells a very interesting story about all of the native Indians past. Thomas closed his eyes and began to
tell his story, It all started September 8, 1858. I was a young pony, strong and quick in every
movement. I remember this. Still, there was so much to fear on that day when Colonel George Wright
took me and 799 of my brothers captive, Imagine, 800 beautiful ponies stolen all at once. It was the
worst kind of war crime. But Colonel Wright thought we were too many to transport, that we were all

The Chimney Sweeper Essay
The Chimney Sweeper by William Blake In William Blake s poem, the reader will read about the first
person point of view of a child going through a neglected life of child labour and slavery. In the poem,
The Chimney Sweeper , Blake s use of onomatopoeia conveys the emotions of the character in the
poem. William Blake uses symbolism in his poem which gives the reader a better understanding of the
message he is trying to convey. As well, Blake s use of colors and adjectives provides the reader
contrast between innocence, freedom and death. William Blake puts all these factors together in his

Carbon Dioxide And The Rate Of Photosynthesis
Abstract Photosynthesis is directly affected by specific factors such as the level of carbon dioxide and
the amount of light. In this study, we try to prove whether or not there is a significant statistical
difference between the level of carbon dioxide and the rate of photosynthesis. To do this we
investigated an aquatic plant, Elodea. A test was conducted to study the rate of photosynthesis which
in this case was by observation of the number of gas bubbles produced when the plant was placed in
different concentration of NaCHO3. The data obtained was used to calculate and plot standard
deviation graphs for each test. By observing error graphs, it was evident that the P value obtained was
lower than the significant value of 0.05%, resulting in the rejection of the hypothesis.
Introduction
Photosynthesis is an essential process for plants to prevent enthalpy, maintain metabolism and sustain
to its environment. Photosynthesis allows plants to convert carbon dioxide to organic molecules using
light as a source of energy. The key elements that are required for the process of photosynthesis are
carbon dioxide, water, and light. All the components needed for photosynthesis are used in small
quantities as they have adverse effects on the plant, for example, if there is too much carbon dioxide,
the spores of the plant reduce in size thus affecting respiration and evaporating (Carnegie Institution,
2010).
The objective of this study is to prove the relationship between carbon

land is flat, and most of that land already has people living there. The Japanese people didn t have a
written language, until they learned the Chinese language. Seafood, was and is a main part of life due
to living surrounded by the sea. Japan had different cast or societies. Life for the Emperor, Shogun,
daimyo, Samurai, and peasants were all different; it was hard for some and easy for others. The
emperor s life was fairly easy and simple. The emperor appeared at ceremonies, celebrations, and
parades, but had no real control over the people. All the emperor had to do was care for his family and

Breaking Rules In Private Peaceful By Michael Morpurgo
Throughout my exposition I will be covering the inquiry question Are there some contexts where it is
acceptable to break the rules? . In the novel Private Peaceful written by Michael Morpurgo, there are
occasions when the rules are broken and I will be discussing them on the view that breaking rules is
acceptable in certain circumstances. These occasions are very much reasonable because of the
outcome if they didn t break the rules. Three of the occasions are... 1, When Charlie lied and told the
recruiting sergeant that both Charlie and Tommo were born on the 5th of October and both older then
17. 2, Charlie broke the rules because he didn t want to look cowardly by hiding his face from the
gunman, instead he decided to face the gunman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like I stated in my introduction Charlie joined the army so that they wouldn t be kicked out of their
house. Tommo wanted to join the army too and wasn t going to let others talk him out of it. Charlie
lying to the sergeant is acceptable in this circumstance and also helps prove breaking the rules in
certain scenarios is okay. Page number is 107. Charlie was asked to put a bag over his head however
he didn t want to lose his dignity or honour. Breaking the rules here showed the courage he had at that
certain. It was important for that Charlie didn t wimp out and put a bag over his head. Also, Charlie
left the bag off his head to remind the gunman of what he has done and give him a sense of remorse.
Page number is 184. Breaking the rules in this circumstance was important because it he was
protecting his brother Tommo. He did it because the Sargent was working Tommo too hard to the
point of unconsciousness. Breaking the rules here is certainly okay because his was protecting his
brother, however if it wasn t his brother the circumstances wouldn t change. This incidence helps my
overall argument Are there some contexts where it s acceptable to break the rules GET PAGE

The Body as a Site for Enquiry in Art and Fashion
The body as a site for enquiry in art and fashion Introduction Dressing defines the outward
arrangement of materials and objects in the body of human beings. Dressing does not only include
clothing but also other accessories, makeup and hairstyle. Dressing is an important feature to
humankind. Over the ages dressing has evolved to various designs and styles to meet the desires of
man and trends. The basic reason for dressing/clothing is protection and warmth, although dressing
functions to communicate our identities and cultures. Apart from the basic need of clothing, other
purposes of dressing are beauty, modesty, ritual purposes and style. Dressing makes us look attractive
and confident over a period. Cultural practices and beliefs define what a society view as modesty in
dressing. Some cultures dressing does not require covering of the whole body and still people view it
as a modest way of dressing. Other cultures view modes as covering most of the body parts when
dressing. Dressing also specifies rituals and ceremony to express the outward meaning of the
ceremony. Most people in societies today view dressing as a form of expressing a sense of fashion.
Fashion is a way in which a certain accepted form of dressing transforms to meet the requirements of
people, environment and trend. Fashion can be an art but art cannot be fashion. An individual can
express his art in fashion, but an artist cannot do so. There is, however, a big connection between art
and fashion.

Gender Stereotypes In America
Whether it is watching a show on the television at home, or being outside in the real world, it is pretty
self explanatory that every person wants to feel represented and supported, felt like they are noticed or
acknowledged in today s society. No one wants to feel as if they are an outcast or are inferior to
someone or some group. Lately, there have been cases of certain groups of people being excluded
from TV. Specifically, African American women. Is this really just a coincidence, or is something
going on? Does TV really represent the diversity of Americans yet? It is evident that TV is not that
diverse, but should be more diverse because people should be integrated with each other instead of
separated, it forms stereotypes, and because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, directors wanting to make their shows centered on people in the LGBT community can
sometimes over exaggerate the idea, tinting the proposition of what people have in their minds of this
community. From this, stereotypes can form, especially in the minds of children that are easy to sway
because they are still forming opinions. People who only go off of the media s portrayal of gays can
have skewed ideas about them. For example, there was a show called The L Word. The L word they
are talking about is Lesbian. With a name like this, you know what the show is about and most likely
what it is going to say. A more familiarized show, Good Luck Charlie does in a small way also taint
minds, geared towards the younger crowd. As you can see, these shows can also form stereotypes for
you. A lot of people, however, would argue that there is more diversity in TV than there ever was. For
example, TV shows such as How to Get Away With Murder and Master of None help to stimulate the
idea of diversity. There are more TV shows now with more than just whites, and no one can argue
with that, but after closer analysis you have to think how many shows are there not featuring them in a
staged way, but everyone is just together in a natural setting? Why can t people just learn to get over
things that happened in the past? Diversity in TV exists more, but there is still a lot more progress to
be

Aloha ʻĀina While exploring different readings and watching numerous films about the meaning of

The Border Cities Of El Paso And Ciudad Juarez
Along the Texas/Mexico border there are many border cities, and among the border cities there is a
trend that points to an advantage of prosperity on the US side compared to the Mexican side of the
border. The border cities of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez show an example of the US advantage over the
Mexican side; El Paso is a Texas city on the Texas/Mexico border, and in 2014 it was the city with the
lowest crime rate in the US ; Ciudad Juarez, on the other hand was known as one of the deadliest cities
in Mexico . Along with the differences in crime rates, El Paso and Ciudad Juarez have many
differences that make them clear examples of the advantage that Texas border cities hold over
Mexican border cities.
Crime
In 2010, Ciudad Juarez was one of the most violent cities in all of Mexico with 3,057 murders .
Ciudad Juarez became an example of the extent of the drug war that was occurring in Mexico in the
2000s. Death had become a common occurrence in Ciudad Juarez. At the height of the drug war in
Mexico, between the years of 2007 and 2012, around 11,078 people were murdered in Ciudad Juarez .
In contrast to Ciudad Juarez, El Paso had the lowest crime rate in the US in 2014 . According to the

low, but near the border there is a high crime rate. The higher crime rate found along the border is
probably due to the ongoing drug trade and illegal immigration that occurs along the

Summary Of The Book The Big Wave
Pearl S. Buck wrote the book called The Big Wave in 1948. A big wave killed many people and
washed important things away, changing villager s lives including Jiya, Kino, and Setsu. Most of the
people in the village hesitated to go back to the sea but Jiya hoped to go there again. In the end, Jiya
and some other people get over the disaster and start their new lives. Although many people hesitate to
go back, the key to overcoming terrible experiences for Jiya and others is to start a new life with
family and to confront disasters. After the big wave, both Jiya and Kino were afraid of the ocean. The
narrator says, two boys, now two young men, did not visit the deserted beach very often (Buck 1).

However, Setsu makes him laugh by teasing him. She heals and fills Jiya s emptiness of his family. In

the cold, deep bottomless ocean and worries about the water. He cannot conquer the anxiety of the sea
but he decides not to tell Jiya. He does not want to destroy Jiya s joy by mentioning the big wave.
Therefore, Kino is still struggling to wipe off his fear because he does not have any opportunity to

Dementia With Lewy Bodies ( Dlb ) Essay
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), when cognitive symptoms appear within a year of movement
problems, is a complex and challenging neurodegenerative disorder. (Pervin, Edwards Lippa, 2016). It
is complex because the DLB pathology and its impact on certain brain regions are unclear. The
pathology includes Lewy bodies, senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. It is challenging because
its many core features make it difficult for individuals to perform activities of daily living. The core
clinical features comprise of declining and fluctuating cognition, behavioural and psychotic
behaviours and spontaneous signs of parkinsonism.
DLB main neuropathological structures are Lewy bodies, nevertheless it also has the Alzheimer s
disease (AD) pathology of senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles (Pervin, Edwards Lippa, 2016).
Astonishing up to 80 percent of individuals can show AD pathology (Colom Cadena et al., 2013).
Lewy bodies are located in cell cytoplasm, spherical in shape, eosinophilic, neuronal attachments,
with a compressed hyaline centre and clear halo. They are made of unusual shortened and
phosphorylated proteins and alpha synuclein is the main component (Hancock, 2011). The alpha
synuclein accumulations, termed Lewy bodies (LB) and Lewy neuritis (LN), disturb brain chemicals
resulting in complications with movement, thinking, mood and behaviour. In a fit brain, alpha
synuclein is essential in brain neurons, especially at presynaptic part, where cell

An Analysis of Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
Is texting contemporary soma?: Teens and distracted driving Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
portrays a future dystopia in which all the inhabitants merely live for pleasure. All of the characters
focus on enjoying things in the moment rather than allow themselves to experience unpleasant truths
regarding the past or future. The society even denies death and encourages children to laugh and play
around dying people to desensitize the next generation. However, as awful as Huxley s vision may be,
some of the warped thinking of the characters in the book can be paralleled with the real life mentality
of teens who engage in distracted driving. Teens who text while driving are solely focused upon their
own pleasure, and show no concern for the needs of others. They do not show care, compassion and
concern for other drivers on the road, but are solely obsessed with their own needs. They believe that
their need to know about what the cute guy in Latin class said is more important than sparing the
person s life in the car in front of them. Nearly nine in 10 teenage drivers have engaged in distracted
driving behaviors such as texting or talking on a cellphone although most of them know that their
actions increase their risk of crashing (Copeland 2010). Nearly one in four crashes involve cell phone
conversations, and texting drivers contribute to more than 100,000 crashes each year overall ( Takata
joins forces, 2011). Most teens who engage in distracted driving do not

A Report On Tesla Motors
Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers in Silicon Valley who wanted to prove that
electric cars could be better than gasoline powered cars. With instant torque, incredible power, and
zero emissions, Tesla s products would be cars without compromise. Each new generation would be
increasingly affordable, helping the company work towards its mission: to accelerate the world s
transition to sustainable transport.
After reading about Tesla Motors, the CEO Elon Musk describes his strengths as the Special Forces,
such as the navy seal. The comparison is like the Special Forces and they only recruits the best, so

One of the Weaknesses that Tesla Motors might have is the fact that the CEO Elon Musk is not only
the CEO for Tesla Motors but he s also CEO and CTO of SpaceX making his schedule a busy one.
Another weaknesses are that people are still not sure of buying an electric car. The company is had to

infrastructure around electric cars does not exist. Tesla Motors are doing their best to change this by
building Superchargers, which are like gas stations but for electric vehicles only. Another weaknesses
is that Tesla Motors only build the Model S car, so people really don t have different options in
choosing different cars. In the near future the company is designing an SUV called Model X, with
plans to design a cheap electric car, a new sports car, and even an electric truck to give it s customers
options when buying a vehicle. One thing that is not good for the company is that the batteries have no

Not Guilty By Reason Of Insanity
Not guilty by reason of insanity is defined as a verdict rendered by a jury in a criminal case that finds

This means that someone who has committed a crime cannot be tried as guilty for the crime at hand

question at hand is: When is a criminally insane person able to be apart of society and apart of the real
world after they are determined not guilt by reason of insanity? Criminally insane persons are a threat
to society, which is why they are hospitalized. The criminally insane must reach a certain point or

Axial View Of The Trial Of Socrates
In Plato s account of the trial of Socrates he wrote, It is intimation that what has happened to me is
good, and that those of us who think death is an evil are in error (Plato 112). Socrates, a philosopher in
Athens, was tried and executed, but did not fear death. Athens, like other cities around the world, took
part in an axial transformation in which the people valued compassion and finding the truths of life.
The execution of Socrates emphasizes the regression of Athenian values. [Need another sentence

Athenian government who wrongly charged him because of their societal regression.
Body Paragraph 1 (Socrates beliefs):
Topic sentence: Socrates embodied axial beliefs and the intention to always ask questions and find

Evidence 1: Socrates often compared himself to a gadfly sent by the gods to question everyone. Don
Nardo wrote in his novel The Trial of Socrates that Socrates, after he received a prophecy from an
oracle, decided it was his destiny to question his fellow citizens about what they knew in life, to
criticize them where they erred, and to remind them when they were not being true to themselves

The expansion of its polyethylene capacity in Bahia Blanca would require the company to build a

Therefore, Dow had to not only consider what to bid for PBB in the privatization, but also develop an
overall plan for the development of Dow s polyethylene business. Dow had to incorporate the terminal
value of each stage of the project. Question 3: The followings are the arguments that support the
acquisition of PBB: 1. The whole project will increase Dow shareholder s wealth. As a public

Ted views love as being romantic and fulfilling the dream that love can bring. Ted s goal and
motivation is to find the perfect woman, so he can get married, then buy a house in the suburbs, then
have kids, and then grow old with his wife until they die. This vision that Ted has portrays the
romantic side in love, although he has to jump through many hoops in order to find his idealistic
woman through dating. The romantic love that Ted has redefines what Katz is saying in his video.
Katz says that men are tough, know that violence is the answer to everything, and that love is not
relevant in a man s mind. An example of Ted realizing that violence is wrong is when he fights with
Doug the bartender, and realizes that violence is not the answer to everything. Doug gives Ted and
Barney (excluding Marshall) free drinks, for thinking that he helped him by fighting guys who took
the booth . But once a restraining order is present in a lawsuit against Ted and Barney, they sell Doug
out because Ted and Barney were not involved in the fist fight. Once Doug finds out, he hits Ted and
Barney runs off. Ted realizes that violence is wrong because fighting really hurts your fist and face.
From Katz s view on men s characteristics, Ted is redefining the traditional man by his ways of non
violence and realizing that love is not sex. From this example, Doug reveals the traditional male
aspect of strength, and Ted revealing the modern aspect on violence as being kind and friendly. Ted s
views on love and views on violence are similar to Marshall s

The Complexity of the United Nations
I choose this topic to reflect more about the complexity of the UN as an organization. In this paper I
want to present an overview standpoint of documents, publications, databases and websites to show
the history and the different branches in the organization and raise some of the accusations behind the
peacekeepers.
After the First World War, people felt the necessity of an international organization with the task of
maintaining global peace. After the 1st World War the League of Nations was the outcome of that
feeling, but it was found that nations were unwilling to give any international authority the jurisdiction
over their lands. But after the result of these selfish policies the Second World War started. At the
close of this second catastrophic war, the minds of men turned again to evoke a more effective world
organization, to establish peace and mutual understanding.
Chapter I of the United Nations Charter lay out the purposes and principles of the United Nations
organization. These principles include the equality and self determination of nations, respect of human
rights and fundamental freedoms.
This organization was planned at a Conference of Nations held at Dumbarton Oaks, U.S.A., and at
another held a few months later at San Francisco. It was named the United Nations Organization
(UNO) and was inaugurated on October 24, 1945. Now, membership has doubled since its
inauguration with 192 member states. New members are admitted if the five sponsoring nations, USA,

Perry And Bussey s Theory Of Sex Essay
Perry and Bussey s (1979) study was motivated as a rebuttal to Maccoby and Jacklin s (1974) claim
that research and studies done up until then failed to give significant support to the theory that sex
differentials based on same sex model imitation as a mechanism for sex role development was
unimportant. Perry and Bussey contended this notion on two fronts. They repute current design
models used to test imitation of same sex models, stating that children are oftentimes given a single
stranger as a role model, male or female, who preform mundane tasks and are then tested for imitation
of the model s response (Perry and Bussey, 1979, p.1700). This is nowhere near reminiscent of real
life scenarios in which a child has multiple examples of both same and opposite sex models to
compare and contrast sex appropriate social and cultural responses. They also re examined how
children code sex typing displays into long term memory by looking at how children respond to
models they found themselves to be similar to. To that end, Perry and Bussey set up two related
experiments that where designed to determine a) how might a child s endorsement of an item be
influenced by the frequencies with which same versus opposite sex models display similar preferences
and b) does the child imitate said same sex model more often when they believe the model s behavior
is appropriate due to a clear indication that the model is behaving typically for his or her sex. In the
first experiment Perry

why single gender schools, don t promote as much gender stereotyping as co ed schools do, and are a

This is because it is easier for students to concentrate, this makes it less complicated for students to

Examples Of Irony In The Plague
The main irony in The Plague is the way Camus treats freedom throughout the book. The people of
Oran become prisoners of the plague and the whole city becomes quarantined by the Prefect when
death tolls hit 30 people a day. It can be questioned whether they were really free before the plague,
considering the way they lived out their lives from day to day. Every day the populace would wake up
work and then gamble in the evenings and a lot of people in Oran take their loved ones for granted.
Only when the plague becomes really bad and people start to die or are ultimately separated by
quarantine from their friends, lovers and families do they realize how they should have loved and
cared for them.
In the very beginning of the epidemic, the citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Camus was an atheist and didn t believe that death, suffering, and human existence has any real
rational meaning. Since Camus didn t believe in God or the devil, Camus saw humans as mortals,
living under a crazy and completely absurd death sentence. However, Camus did believe that people
are capable of giving their lives meaning hence when the people of Oran were starting to give up, they
banded together and worked to end the death and suffering of those that have been infected or affected
by the plague. Although Camus was an atheist, in The Plague religion can be found in the book
coming from the Jesuit priest, Father Paneloux. He preached that this was God s way of separating the
good from the bad, saying that this only happened because God s compassion for the evil doing in the
town ran out and it was time for the people there to realize the real meaning behind their lives.
(Malcolm 26) Paneloux basically believed that the plague was for the good of the townspeople.

difficult Robin Yount. Professional athletes are away from their family a lot and they deserve to be
paid what they earn. Athletes have to pay taxes. Athletes have to pay taxes in every state they play in.

April to October and traveled non stop. Think about how much money that is. Overall, athletes have to
pay a lot during their season and they need the money for that. Athletes give back. Athletes give

knowing that Lourdes would soon become a place of pilgrimage.
The vision also knew it would bring a great impact when meditating there because Christians may feel

with crutches, disabled people and people who were fine. Most of them were holding signs saying
where they had travelled from.
I joined in the daily procession and enjoyed every moment. We all held lit candles that were placed in
plastic cups to protect the flame. They symbolised God s grace within each and every one of them.
(The light)
We were also singing the hymn Ave Maria meaning Praise to Mary.
I felt great being a part of this tremendous

  • 2. Evaluating Kant s Intentions For Each Premise Here I hope to reflect Kant s intentions for each premise in the order presented above. (P1): I am conscious of my experience as determined in time. P1 can be interpreted a few ways. Dicker in his first interpretation takes his second premise to mean, (P2): I am aware that I have representations in experience that occur in temporal succession (Dicker 195). In other words, I am not only conscious of my experiences; I am also in a position where I recognize the order of my experiences presented by my own mental representations. This conclusion is not explicitly stated in Dicker s reconstruction. In the B version, Kant introduces a revised third premise (included above). Kant writes, that representations need a second party persisting distinct from the representations. This idea illustrates what information from representations might be sufficient in determining time orders. there seems to be something other than the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Does Mary Oliver Use Imagery In Crossing The Swamp In Crossing the Swamp , Mary Oliver uses the Swamp as a metaphor for life s struggles when she states Here is swamp, here is struggle and continues to expound on this metaphor throughout the poem. She relates the physical characteristics of the swamp to going through a struggle and her use of literary devices helps to drive this metaphor. Through her use of tone and imagery, Oliver is able to show the transition of the relationship between the speaker and the swamp(struggles) from one of hopelessness to one of hopefulness. At the beginning of the poem, the tone is very hopeless. The swamp seems endless to the speaker, suggesting that they think the struggles they are facing will never be overcome. Peppered Moth Essay The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the 1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light, medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it works by using several pen update commands which execute the global variables (light, medium, dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section ... Moreover, the selection slider determine the survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0 percent, the ever moth have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the moth to camouflage is very important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution levels in the environment, much like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to manually manipulate the pollution levels of the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider would control the rate at which the pollution level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100 being the fastest. Analysis Of The Poem The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight Many characters in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven show beneficial traits, physically and mentally from telling their stories. The author of this book, Sherman Alexie, portrays that the art of telling stories opened new avenues for native Indians to preserve or, more or less perceive their historical and cultural traditions. One of the main characters, Thomas Builds The Fire tells stories that had historical settings and viewpoints. They offered knowledge on tribal insights and how Indians have experienced change over the years. Victor, the other main character in the story also tells many stories about his past, but unlike Thomas Builds the fire, his stories are more bleak and realistic. Storytelling helped show how the White people treated Native Indians, and how they fared against each other. In one of the short stories The Trial of Thomas Builds the Fire , the main character Thomas tells a very interesting story about all of the native Indians past. Thomas closed his eyes and began to tell his story, It all started September 8, 1858. I was a young pony, strong and quick in every movement. I remember this. Still, there was so much to fear on that day when Colonel George Wright took me and 799 of my brothers captive, Imagine, 800 beautiful ponies stolen all at once. It was the worst kind of war crime. • 8. Carbon Dioxide And The Rate Of Photosynthesis Abstract Photosynthesis is directly affected by specific factors such as the level of carbon dioxide and the amount of light. In this study, we try to prove whether or not there is a significant statistical difference between the level of carbon dioxide and the rate of photosynthesis. To do this we investigated an aquatic plant, Elodea. A test was conducted to study the rate of photosynthesis which in this case was by observation of the number of gas bubbles produced when the plant was placed in different concentration of NaCHO3. The data obtained was used to calculate and plot standard deviation graphs for each test. By observing error graphs, it was evident that the P value obtained was lower than the significant value of 0.05%, resulting in the rejection of the hypothesis. Introduction Photosynthesis is an essential process for plants to prevent enthalpy, maintain metabolism and sustain to its environment. Photosynthesis allows plants to convert carbon dioxide to organic molecules using light as a source of energy. The key elements that are required for the process of photosynthesis are carbon dioxide, water, and light. All the components needed for photosynthesis are used in small quantities as they have adverse effects on the plant, for example, if there is too much carbon dioxide, the spores of the plant reduce in size thus affecting respiration and evaporating (Carnegie Institution, 2010). The Body as a Site for Enquiry in Art and Fashion The body as a site for enquiry in art and fashion Introduction Dressing defines the outward arrangement of materials and objects in the body of human beings. Dressing does not only include clothing but also other accessories, makeup and hairstyle. Dressing is an important feature to humankind. Over the ages dressing has evolved to various designs and styles to meet the desires of man and trends. The basic reason for dressing/clothing is protection and warmth, although dressing functions to communicate our identities and cultures. Apart from the basic need of clothing, other purposes of dressing are beauty, modesty, ritual purposes and style. Dressing makes us look attractive and confident over a period. Cultural practices and beliefs define what a society view as modesty in dressing. Some cultures dressing does not require covering of the whole body and still people view it as a modest way of dressing. Other cultures view modes as covering most of the body parts when dressing. Dressing also specifies rituals and ceremony to express the outward meaning of the ceremony. Most people in societies today view dressing as a form of expressing a sense of fashion. Fashion is a way in which a certain accepted form of dressing transforms to meet the requirements of people, environment and trend. Fashion can be an art but art cannot be fashion. An individual can express his art in fashion, but an artist cannot do so. There is, however, a big connection between art and fashion. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specifically, African American women. Is this really just a coincidence, or is something going on? Does TV really represent the diversity of Americans yet? From this, stereotypes can form, especially in the minds of children that are easy to sway because they are still forming opinions. People who only go off of the media s portrayal of gays can have skewed ideas about them. For example, there was a show called The L Word. The L word they are talking about is Lesbian. With a name like this, you know what the show is about and most likely what it is going to say. A more familiarized show, Good Luck Charlie does in a small way also taint minds, geared towards the younger crowd. As you can see, these shows can also form stereotypes for you. A lot of people, however, would argue that there is more diversity in TV than there ever was. For example, TV shows such as How to Get Away With Murder and Master of None help to stimulate the idea of diversity. There are more TV shows now with more than just whites, and no one can argue with that, but after closer analysis you have to think how many shows are there not featuring them in a staged way, but everyone is just together in a natural setting? The society even denies death and encourages children to laugh and play around dying people to desensitize the next generation. However, as awful as Huxley s vision may be, some of the warped thinking of the characters in the book can be paralleled with the real life mentality of teens who engage in distracted driving. Teens who text while driving are solely focused upon their own pleasure, and show no concern for the needs of others. In this paper I want to present an overview standpoint of documents, publications, databases and websites to show the history and the different branches in the organization and raise some of the accusations behind the peacekeepers. After the First World War, people felt the necessity of an international organization with the task of maintaining global peace. After the 1st World War the League of Nations was the outcome of that feeling, but it was found that nations were unwilling to give any international authority the jurisdiction over their lands. But after the result of these selfish policies the Second World War started. Perry And Bussey s Theory Of Sex Essay Perry and Bussey s (1979) study was motivated as a rebuttal to Maccoby and Jacklin s (1974) claim that research and studies done up until then failed to give significant support to the theory that sex differentials based on same sex model imitation as a mechanism for sex role development was unimportant. Perry and Bussey contended this notion on two fronts. They repute current design models used to test imitation of same sex models, stating that children are oftentimes given a single stranger as a role model, male or female, who preform mundane tasks and are then tested for imitation of the model s response (Perry and Bussey, 1979, p.1700). This is nowhere near reminiscent of real life scenarios in which a child has multiple examples of both same and opposite sex models to compare and contrast sex appropriate social and cultural responses. They also re examined how children code sex typing displays into long term memory by looking at how children respond to models they found themselves to be similar to. To that end, Perry and Bussey set up two related experiments that where designed to determine a) how might a child s endorsement of an item be influenced by the frequencies with which same versus opposite sex models display similar preferences and b) does the child imitate said same sex model more often when they believe the model s behavior is appropriate due to a clear indication that the model is behaving typically for his or her sex.
