2. Animal Farm Essay on Utopia
THE UTOPIAN DREAM, WHILE NOBLE, IS SHORT SIGHTED BECAUSE IT FAILS TO
ACCOUNT FOR THE FLAWS IN HUMAN NATURE. George Orwell s allegorical novel Animal
Farm demonstrates the rapid shift from hopeful Utopian Dream, to reproachful dystopian nightmare
as a result of fundamental flaws in human nature, such as avarice, selfishness and the thirst for
power over others. In the novel, the animals are promised a better life if they revolt and institute
the system of Animalism, then they are promised a better life if they build the windmill and, if all
else fails, the raven promises a better afterlife on Sugarcandy Mountain . However, the animals
ultimately never achieve their utopia because of the avaricious and power hungry nature of
Napoleon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The resigned apathy and passivity of some of the animals allows for faster erosion of the dream
of equality and allows for the pigs to maintain the power that wasn t rightfully theirs. A typical
example of general passivity towards the pigs actions was Benjamin, the old donkey. Having
knowledge of the pig s hypocrisy, Benjamin consciously decided against actions of rebellion
against the pigs, instead resigning himself to the fact that he could not help the situation. After
Boxer s death, Clover is so emotionally destroyed by his sudden disappearance that she ceases to
do anything. In accepting his death as the pigs tell her, she is being passive and not searching
for her own conclusions, even though she had doubts about it. It these, plus many more
examples of passivity towards the pig s reign, that concludes in the animals having to forfeit any
hope of the once so real, Utopian Dream. Animal Farm is the story of the animals that rebel
against their master in order to achieve their dream of a utopian society. The book opens in an
optimistic mood as Old Major in his speech describes a simple, natural farm in which all the
animals are free and equal. But gradually this energetic and positive mood disappears, as the
animals difficulties become progressively

3. The Psychodynamic Theory
In my opinion, the psychodynamic theory makes most sense because it gives the background of
sexual drive as far as the id, ego, and superego. Freud came up with a theory which explained the
desire to want to do something and having balance. With this theory, most child molesters use their
id and not their ego. They think about their wants and needs and not what is morally right. Also,
cognitive distortion makes sense too because it breaks down the thoughts of a child molester.
According to the research, molesters think if a person did not resist, then they wanted it and a lot
of sexual offenders think like that by taking it as consent sex when it is not. For example, if a child
just lays there and do not say stop they think the child must want

1.0Introduction
The UK coaching framework was revised in 2012/2013 and a more concise document based
around Excellent Coaching Every Time for Everyone which provided a focus on four main key
objectives, these were:
More appropriately qualified and skilled coaches
A more diverse workforce
A culture of self improvement
A better supported workforce.
This report will discuss the current status of coach education and coach learning in the UK. These
findings will then be used to identify and recommend to the management board of Sports Coach
UK and the Minister for sport where the investments from the central Governments for coach
education and development should be placed.
2.0Current status of Sports Coaching in the UK
Gray (2011) said that coaching needed to become a profession; this is because of the widening
participation of young people in sport, community involvement and social responsibility and that
the health in Britain has gone down. Sports Coach UK (2008) agreed that it was in need of
professionalization because of Britain

5. Essay on Setting in Hills Like White Elephants, by Ernest...
In the short story by Ernest Hemingway, Hills Like White Elephants, a couple is delayed at a
train station en route to Madrid and is observed in conflict over the girl s impending abortion. In
his writing, Hemingway does not offer any commentary through a specific character s point of
view, nor, in the storytelling, does he offer his explicit opinions on how to feel or think about the
issues that emerge. The narrative seems to be purely objective, somewhat like a newspaper or
journal article, and in true Hemingway form the story ends abruptly, without the couple s conflict
clearly being resolved. The ambiguity of the ending has been a subject of much debate; however,
the impact of what is not said in words can be gleaned through the... Show more content on

The pair is sitting outside at a table facing the dry hills. The girl looks out at the bleak, arid

trying to find some good in it, perhaps to convince herself to heed her partners wishes and go

pacifying tactic fails. His callous response to her attempt at finding beauty only furthers the

Final Year Project 1 Web based micro crowdfunding system for startup company
Chapter 1
Introduction
Background
Crowdsourcing is an alternative of solving problems and getting something done by connecting
with a large targeted group of people online via Internet whether look for extra knowledge,
resources or expertise in advanced. Crowdsourcing is not new with the time being as beforehand we
often look for collaboration with a specific group of people verbally.
In other hand, crowdfunding is a new internet based alternative to raise the amount of capital from
investor and crowd that have believe in your cause. This approach is very attractive for a startup
company whereby it not only allows the startup company raising for capital needed, which they are

them to earned credit and reference or just sometimes, people just wanted to help you to grow.
There are many existing crowdfunding platforms that have their own uniqueness and specific
purpose to serve the community. These crowdfunding website targeted the community that

8. Telemachus Treatment Of Women In The Odyssey
In Homer s The Odyssey Penelope is shown to uphold the patriarchal Greek societal values.
Penelope, Odysseus wife and the queen of Ithaca, is often overshadowed and ruled by people
that have less authority. In the beginning, there is a gathering at the palace. A bard begins to
sing and Penelope starts to sob after being reminded of Troy. Telemachus immediately steps in
and orders his mother to go up to her room and tells her that he is the man of the house now,
saying, So mother, go back to your quarters, tend to your own tasks...I hold the reigns of power in
this house (Homer 89). When Telemachus says I hold the reins of power in this house Homer is

Telemachus exclaims that he has the power, he further illustrates how he has power over his
mother because he is a male in a male dominated society. Additionally, he has direct control over his
mother despite the fact that she is older. Penelope is cast aside and dominated by her son and
conforms to the patriarchal values, despite plotting schemes against some of the men. She upholds
the Greek values, as her role as a woman is clearly defined, as shown through how she does what
Telemachus tells her to do and does not come between the males problems and affairs. Another
instance in which Penelope upholds the patriarchal Greek values is in The Penelopiad, an account
of The Odyssey, which shows the events of The Odyssey in the eyes of Penelope. In the beginning,
Odysseus and Telemachus kill the maids, Penelope was mentioned to had slept through the
mayhem because she had been given a drug by Eurycleia to keep her out of the action and stop her
from interfering. To further ensure that Penelope does not get in the way of the killing of the
maids, Odysseus made sure that all the women were locked securely into the women s quarter ,
including Penelope.

11. Corporate Governance And Regulation In Australia
it might be said:
I Introduction
The primary problem with the current approach to regulation in Australia is that it predominantly
links corporate interests to those of the shareholders, with little or no consideration given to the
employees, the community, consumers and other stakeholders. This essay will explore the concepts
of corporate governance and regulation and then critique the hard law, soft law and hybrid
approaches to regulation. An explanation will then be provided as to why the hybrid approach
remains the most appropriate regulation mechanism, followed by an explanation of the hybrid
solution identified to get corporations to consider the interests of key stakeholders.
II Discussion
A Defining corporate governance and regulation
Over the past few decades the term corporate governance has become quite commonplace, with
considerable debate arising as to the intersection between corporate governance and regulation. The
scope and content of corporate governance in and of itself is quite wide, capturing the structures,
processes and systems, both formal and informal, by which power is exercised, constrained,
monitored and accounted for in the management of a corporation .
Similarly, the definitions provided of regulation in literature are broad ranging, but they ultimately
highlight the role of regulation in controlling corporate conduct. Nonetheless, it should be noted
that these mechanisms of control are not limited to legislation, administrative

Autobiography Essay on Benjamin Franklin God helps those who helps themselves is a famous
quote by Benjamin Franklin. He exemplifies this in The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. In
this book, Franklin gives an account of his personal life to show others how he improved
throughout his life. He first started writing the autobiography for his son, but eventually turn it
into a story for others to imitate. He describes his life, virtues, and public service to others. The
Autobiography opens with a letter to Ben Franklin s son, William Franklin, who was the royal
governor of New Jersey at the time. Franklin writes the letter while on vacation in Twyford.
Franklin says to William, Imagining it may be equally agreeable to you to know the
circumstances of my life, many of which you are yet unacquainted with... I sit down to write
them to you (5). His purpose of writing his son would be to tell him personal accounts of his life
that could benefit him in ways of motivation, wisdom, and simply to show him how far he has
improved in his life. He wishes to tell him how he rose from poverty and obscurity to a higher
degree of reputation in the world. Furthermore, this would not be his only purpose, which changes
with the tone and style of his writing Franklin decides to write a complete autobiography to
exemplify his self improvements. He shares with him how he enjoyed his life, and if the

Fall of the Roman Empire
The Roman empire was one of the most powerful and greater empires of its time during the late
antiquity period. The Roman empire was divided into an east and west. The Western Empire would
last until 467 C.E., while the Eastern Empire would stand through the next century. Although the
Western Empire outlasted the Eastern Empire it still faced its own challenges and would collapse
in 1453. Many historians have considered the fall of the Roman Empire and the reasoning behind
it. Edward Gibbon would be the first to propose his theories about the topic. Other historians such
as Peter Heather, Peter Brown, and Henri Pierenne have studied many sources and have come up
with their own theories. Considering all historians points of view, I think that Peters Heather s
ideologies make the most plausible case. Heather s used a wide spread of sources when he looked
at the fall of the Western Roman Empire. He took into consideration government and cultural stand
points. He also considers outsiders influence to be one of the main reasons the Western Empire fell.

14. High Noon Symbolism
The stasis of High Noon is introduced through the opening scene at the outskirts of Hadleyville
in the plains and the film is shot in a high contrast black and white. It is in the morning and the
sun is high in the clear sky. In the dry plains, seemingly located in the middle of nowhere, we see
the cowboy James Pierce with his horse, who waits on top of a rock, near several trees. In the
distance, we see another cowboy, Jack Colby, riding his horse through the plains towards the
waiting cowboy. Jack Colby arrives, gets off his horse, and sits on top of a rock as both
cowboys see a third rider, Ben Miller, coming towards them. When Ben Miller arrives, all three
of them ride their horses through the plains and we hear distant bells of a church, as they ride
towards Hadleyville. As the cowboys pass through the church and town, many civilians stare at
them as they recognize these gang members. Some are afraid while others are astonished and
could not believe that they are intruding the town. One female even performs hand gestures that
symbolize a silent prayer to God for protection as she sees the men pass by the town. In a
courtroom, a wedding is in progress, Marshal, Will Kane, and Quaker, Amy Fowler, face Judge

16. Creon As A Tragic Hero In Antigone, By Sophocles
A tragedy is a relative term for great sadness, but in the times of the Greeks and the Romans, the
word tragedy had a slightly different meaning. Aristotle defined a tragic hero as one who has a
major character flaw and experiences a tragedy leading to that character s downfall. The character
must experience a loss in fortune and suffer beyond what they deserve. In the story Antigone was
written by Sophocles, Creon can be defined as a tragic heromore so than Antigone. Creon is the
king of Thebes; he is stubborn but loyal. His loyalties lie with his city, and he believes that
personal affairs come second to the city of Thebes. After the rebels, atack Thebes Creon enacts a
law stating that Polynices, one of the rebels, is forbidden to be buried. Furthermore, he declares
that burial of Polynices will be punishable by death. In Ancient Greece a burial determined
entrance into the afterlife. Creon reckoned that Polynices was an enemy of the state who did not
deserve entrance into the afterlife. However, Polyneices sister, Antigone, wants to bury her
brother. Antigone believes that family matters should take priority over conflicts of the state.
Additionally, because the gods did not proclaim this law Antigone believes she should not have
to follow Creon s law. Creon argues the point of civil law while Antigone places power in moral
law. Civil law is the idea that the person in a position of power makes the laws and that no one, not
even the king is above the law. Moral law is

The admired biologist and conservationist E.O. Wilson once said, we should preserve every scrap
of biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it means to
humanity. This quote seems to encompass the overall main goal of zoologists: to preserve
biodiversity, and while we have it, study and examine it, and make discoveries that could help save
all those on this planet. Dr. Tim Cockerel, in a published interview with BBC, defined his job as a
zoologist as someone who studies species from anything to the diversity of animals, to how animals
interact with other living things, to how animals and humans interact with each other, and how we
can make plans to save threatened or endangered species for the future years to come (Cockerill).
The typical zoologist observes animals in a variety of settings, while studying behavioral
tendencies, their natural habitat, and how their acquired traits are passed down from generation to
generation. Some daily activities of a zoologist include dissection of animal specimens, preparation
of slides of disease tissue under microscopes, studying aggression or mating behaviors, testing the
effects of drugs on animals, and directing biological technicians who work alongside them. They
may write scientific reports, inventory or estimate wildlife populations, consult with management
systems, must articulate well and understand others. Many people who are involved in this field
publish articles about their recent research. The typical employers of zoologists include government
departments, universities, private research firms, biotechnology companies, zoos, wildlife
sanctuaries, pharmaceutical agriculture, or food research companies, environmental consulting

our real jump we could possibly hit the ground at a fairly high speed and that only by mastering
this rolling technique would we be able to avoid breaking an ankle, a leg, or even worse.
With this dire message still ringing in our ears, we proceeded to line up, one behind the other, and

20. Social And Political Views Of Democracy
Democracy offers people the chance to be involved citizens rather than unreceptive subordinates.
However, this right doesn t come unchallenged. Citizens are required to assess a broad range of
political subjects (such as candidates, parties, and policies) and then combine and simplify their
likings in a way that allows them to choose on voting decisions. So, how are these challenges met?
In the United States, some citizens are conservative Republics, some are liberal Democrats, and
others fall in between or outside the two. Recent studies have proposed that these recognitions play
an important part in voting behavior and political perception. Recently, however, more studies have
accumulated advocating for two meager assumptions in regards to this study: that liberal
/conservative identifications are bipolar in meaning and that underlying this bipolarity is cognitive
meaning based on political issues (Conover, Feldman, 265). These variances in political positions
are called political attitudes, and fall on a spectrum between extremely liberal and extremely
conservative. Broadly speaking, this spectrum distinguishes what someone believes about social
issues and governments role in society. These beliefs are formed by a variation of aspects, which
can include family, gender, religion, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and region. Even things
like behavior, core ideals and values, and ideologycan affect people s political attitudes.
However, these opinions are not set in

21. Essay Sports Massage- Case Study
This essay will explore the value of massage in the overall management of an athlete with lateral

the relevant supporting evidence.
The relevant anatomy will be discussed as well as the proposed influences of massage on these
structures using current literature to support these hypotheses.
Massage has been used around the world for thousands of years for rehabilitation and relaxation

Miller et al (2007) showed greater knee flexion and internal hip rotation in runners with ITBS at
heel strike. Using a simple biomechanical they showed that both factors increased stress on the ITB.
Biomechanical studies show that maximum compression of the ITB over the lateral femoral
condyle occurs at 30 degrees flexion of the knee (Orchard, 1996) hence it has been assumed that the
band actually moves over the condyle.
MRI findings in a study by Nishimura et al (1997) suggest soft tissue inflammation and /or
oedema rather than focal fluid collection. This study also showed no alteration to the structure of
the ITB itself, and that the posterior fibres are tighter against the femur. A further study involving
cadavers and MRI by Fairclough et al (2006) show ITBS is more likely to be highly innervated fat

One of the commonly quoted conservative interventions for ITBS is massage or more precisely

September 11th of 2001 is a day in history that will be remembered forever. What was first
thought to be a freak accident turned into a horrific nightmare for our country, America was under

Nearly thirty minutes after the terrorists launched their take over, the passengers charged the

the hijacker knew they were about to break through. The flight was going over Shanksville,
Pennsylvania and the pilot decided to aim the airplane going 580 miles per hour into an
abandoned field only about twenty minutes from its original target, Washington, D.C. where they
planned on attacking the White House (CNN). After the attack all that was left was death and
wreckage. Shortly after the demolition many engineers, contractors, ironworkers and rescue
workers went to help the police and firefighters with volunteer work to help the victims. All of
these people were very concerned with recovering any survivors that were trapped within the
soldering wreckage. Large pieces of iron that fell from the wreckage needed to be moved from
the scene and required larger machines to do so. Over 108 thousand trucks were used to transport

23. Essay on Importance of Nothing in Shakespeare s King Lear
Importance of Nothing in William Shakespeare s King Lear
The Tragedy of King Lear has many important themes. One major theme concerns nothing. The
main focus around the discussion of nothing is that nothing is a many things. Nothing is what
binds everything.
The first mention of nothing is when King Lear asks his daughters to profess how much they love
him. The eldest daughters shower compliments upon him tickling his ears. Yet the Lear s favorite
daughter Cordelia will only speak the truth. When asked what she can say to gain her a portion of
land better than her sisters, she replies, Nothing, my Lord (1.1. ) He exclaims, Nothing! (1.1. ) and
she responds, Nothing (1.1. ). Lear s answers, Nothing will come of ... Show more content on

Then he asks Lear, Can you make no use of nothing, nuncle (1.4. )? This question should prod
Lear to think of his earlier mistake of making a big ordeal out of Cordelia s nothing. Ironically he
responds, nothing can be made out of nothing (1.4. ), echoing what he said to Cordelia in 1.1. The
Fool then tells Kent to tell him so much the rent of his land comes to (1.4. ). The answer to this, of
course, would be nothing. The King has given all his land to Goneril and Regan.
After Goneril walks into the room, he tells Lear thou art an O without a figure (1.4. ). An O
without a figure would be a zero. Thus the Fool tells Lear that he is nothing. He continues by
saying straightforwardly, I am a Fool, thou art nothing
(1.4. ). Remarks like this provide ample opportunity for Goneril to rebuke Lear for having an all
licens d Fool (1.4. ). In addition, the Fool calls Lear a sheal d peascod (1.4. ). This is another way
of saying he is empty. He is nothing.
These remarks provide a theme continuing throughout the story. The main theme is that nothing is
what binds everything together. If Cordelia had not responded nothing then the King would be
happy. He would have moved in with Cordelia and she would have supported him. Moreover,
Cordelia would have kept her portion and would have married the Duke Burgundy. Thus, her
nothing changed everything.
In addition, this nothing gives the play comic relief. The Fool

proactive is part of human nature and humans are responsible for their own lives. He indicated the
details of a social map which consist of Genetic determinism (Ancestors), Psychic determinism
(Parents) and Environment determinism (Boss or something in the environment). The proactive
concept was explained further using the Stimulus and Response relationship and the catalyst story
of Viltor Frankl. Between Stimulus and Response, man has the ability or freedom to choose. This
means one can decide how to reactive to thing or how to handle each situation. What matters most

independence is an achievement. Interdependence is a choice only independent people can make.
So the place to begin building any relationship is inside ourselves, inside our Circle of Influence,
our own character. Stephen further recollected an incidence he had with his two sons to explain
what attending to little things meant. To him, Small discourtesies, little unkindnesses, little forms
of disrespect make large withdrawals in our lives. In relationship for instance, the little thing are the
big things. Keeping commitments, Clarifying expectations, showing personal integrity,
apologizing sincerely when we make a withdrawal from our emotional bank are important things
to do to make deposits in to our emotional banks. Covey mentioned that, with the paradigm of the
Emotional Bank Account in mind, we re ready to move into the habits of Public Victory, or
success in working with other people. Habit 4: Think win win (Principles of Interpersonal

25. Propose An On Demand Qos Routing Algorithm Essay
The main objective of this paper is to propose an on demand QoS routing algorithm. Since the
requirements for various applications may vary time to time, the approach for QoS routing may
not be proactive. The proposed approach has two phases namely route discovery phase and
route maintenance phase. When a source node has to pass data to a destination node with QoS
requirements it starts with the route discovery phase. Once the route is found, the data transfer
will take place. While data transmission is going on, it is also required to maintain the path to
the destination. This is very much desirable and required in mobile ad hoc networks and hence
is done in the route maintenance phase. Introduction In Mobile presence service is a vital
component of a social network applications due to mobile user s presence details such as global
positioning system location, network address, and online/offline status are continuously apprise

environments, for the reason it keeps an up to date list of presence information of mobile user. If
presence updates occur often the number of messages distributed by presence server may lead to

overcome the scalability problem proposed an efficient and ascendable server architecture called

26. Overview Of Embryonic Stem Cells
Stem cells play a fundamental role during all stages of development and have the potential to
study and treat disease (Spitalieri et al., 2016). Embryonic stem cells (ESC) are pluripotent cells
that emerge from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst and can give rise to various cell types
(Liang and Zhang, 2013). Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) have similar characteristics but
are derived from adult differentiated somatic tissue (Liang and Zhang, 2013). This review will
briefly compare ESC and iPSC in the context of celltherapy and disease modeling.
The human ESCs have long been considered the gold standard for modeling disease and have
served as the basis for developing cell therapies (Spitalieri et al., 2016). However, the use of ...

That is, ESC line are often exposed to fetal bovine serum or other animal based media for
culturing purposes (Desai et al., 2015). This increases the likelihood of activating the immune
response and tissue rejection. It is, therefore, necessary for some receipts of ESC to take
immunosuppressants and mitigate the immune response (Odorico et al., 2001). In recent years,
researchers have developed ESC parthenogenetic lines that could provide HLA histocompatibility
for the majority of a given population (Revazova et al., 2008). Moreover, ESC lines are currently
being cultivated in systems that are free of animal contamination (Fu et al., 2010). Such
improvements could advance the clinical application of hESC for the treatment of disease.
Furthermore, iPSCs are in theory more ideal than ESCs for the modeling of disease due to two
reasons. First, iPSC can capture the genotype of a particular individual and reproduce the
severity of a disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015) Second, iPSC can take into account variations
within different ethnic groups (Merkle and Eggan, 2013). This is not easily achieved in human
ESC lines, which have thus far had limited success in modeling complex disease. In contrast,
iPSCs can more closely recapitulate the genetic hallmarks of a disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015).
This may prove beneficial for toxicity testing and development of new drugs for the treatment of
disease (Pappas and Yang, 2008).
Nonetheless, iPSCs suffer from

Teenage drinking is one of the largest social issues among young people today. Although about
half of high schools today drink on a regular basis. (CDC) Most of them will say they only drink
when they are at parties with their friends. If they started drinking at the age of fifteen there is a six
percent chance that they will depend on alcoholwhen they get older. There are so many different
problems with teen drinking that I can talk about. The big one I want to talk about is when teens
drive when drinking. Ways to try and stop teen drinking is maybe by bring back Dare or have
SADD in schools again. The CDC reports that about ten percent of teens in 2013 have drove
after drinking alcohol. They even reported that twenty two percent have ridden with a driver
who had been drinking alcohol. Having shown these stats will make this even more probable
that car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, and about a quarter of those crashes
involve an underage teen that was drinking and driving. Any teen that gets in a car after drinking
puts more than just their self at risk of getting injured or even worse dying. As a teenager
myself, I know how hard it is to say no to someone that has been drinking when they want to

The Role of Environmental Monitoring at Symrise
Sources of potential microbial contamination can exist in all parts of a manufacturing plant, from
the air and water supply to the operator working on his latest assigned batch of material. Ineffective
cleaning programs can potentially result in pathogenic outbreaks in a manufacturing facility. An
environmental monitoring program is typically used to help a company determine how effective
their sanitation program is. The FDA recommends an environmental monitoring program designed
to detect areas of pathogen harborage and to verify the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitizing
programs in preventing cross contamination (2008). Even though pathogen hits are rare in the
production facility at Symrise, environmental monitoring is necessary to document the state of
control of the plant to ensure food safety and to confirm that good manufacturing processes are met.

others finish school in Europe and attend collegein the United States to play at a university. The
United States is one of the few countries worldwide to emphasize education before professional
sports. In fact, in our country, college athletics are promoted to high school athletes as a way of
paying for their education not as a pathway to become a professional athlete. Student athletes are
encouraged to play sports in college to advance their academic future, not necessarily for a future

Immigration is defined as the act of leaving your country of origin and going to another different

others just take the step for fun purposes. A reform is a change from the way things were done

political talks that refer to the alteration of the immigration policy of the nation. The debate is

immigrants that are in the country. A recent poll shows that about 35 percent of the Americans
oppose the move of reforming the immigration law (ThinkProgress). If the government represents
the people, then this poll could be used to show the

(2001). These researchers argue that job embeddedness is a direct antecedent both of intent to quit
and voluntary turnover. A number of studies have followed this research direction and found that
job embeddedness explained significant incremental variance in turnover beyond that explained
by job satisfaction and organizational commitment (e.g., Lee et al., 2004; Holtom and O Neill,
2004; Besich, 2005; Holtom and Inderrieden, 2006). However how job embeddedness is
developed or what factors cause employees embedded in their jobs to keep them from leaving the
organization still requires investigation. This study attempts to partly answer that question by
testing whether job embeddedness is a mediator of the relationship between human resource
practices and employees intention to quit. Research background and hypotheses Efforts to
elucidate the causes of the intention to quit of employees have focused on individual level
factors, such as personal preferences, and organizational level factors, such as human resource
practices (Deutsch et al., 2000). Individual level explanations stress the differences among people,
often by examining the process by which jobholders consider other employment possibilities (Lee
and Mitchell, 1994; Deutsch et al., 2000). Individual level studies traditionally link employees
interest in changing jobs to their level of job satisfaction (Brayfield and Crockett, 1955; Vroom,
1964; Price, 1977; Mobley et al., 1979). However, empirical

39. Teaching Reading Comprehension And Fluency
Reading comprehension and fluency are explored in chapters three and four. The authors of chapter
three review what they feel to be ten essential elements of teaching reading comprehension. It only
stands to reason that a child s knowledge of the world around them greatly affects their
comprehension, especially while readingexpository text. However, not all students enter the
classroom with the same amount of this world knowledge . I have had students who have
summered in Europe and students who have never left the state all in the same classroom. Teachers
must provide differentiation in instruction, as well opportunities to engage in a wide variety of
texts to build domain and world knowledge to support readingcomprehension. As a STEM lab
instructor and lover of children s literacy, I am intrigued by the, Seeds of Science/Roots of
Reading, program referenced in chapter three. I am continuously looking for ways to use literature
to introduce my STEM topics. Not only are world knowledge and exposure to various genres
essential elements in reading comprehension, but students should also be motiviated! Students
should enjoy what they read. I appreciate how the authors refer to this as the will and thrill, not just
the skill . Before we can teach strategies, text structure, and engage students in meaningful
discussions, they need to get hooked on the idea of reading. By keeping a reading journal, students
can have the opportunity to write about their favorite

40. Brazil And Its Impact On America
Brazil is located in Eastern South America and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is very
comparable to the USA, being only slightly smaller in size. The economy is well developed in
agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, and it has an expanding middle class.
Brazil was under Portuguese rule until it gained independence in 1822 and maintained a
monarchical system of government until the abolition of slaveryin 1888.
The African Diaspora is based upon a globalized notion of blackness and is a community and
identity for those who identify as black and see relation between themselves and others in the
Black Diaspora. Brazil ties into the African Diaspora because millions of enslaved Africans were
dispersed in Brazil. Brazil was the center of the European slave trade before it gained independence
in 1822. Rio de Janeiro and Bahia had more slaving voyages than any other port in all of Europe.
Brazil was consistently the largest home for slaves between North America and South America.
Instead of encouraging natural reproduction to increase the slave population in Brazil, masters
choose to work their slaves to death and buy a new replacement because they were cheap. Four
and a half million enslaved Africans were taken to Brazil and even today, just 125 years after
slavery was abolished, Brazil is still struggling with a form of control sex trafficking.
The African Diaspora has created a large culture of African Brazilians in Brazil. Many Africans did

41. Essay On Roe V. Wade
Prior to the landmark case of Roe vs. Wade, abortion was legal in the United States under
common law and with several stipulations. It was legal under the advice of medical personnel or in
the attempt to save a mother s life. Though abortion were widely available it was considered a
secretive and back alley procedure that threatened the life of the patient and the persons conducting
the abortion. In 1965, illegal abortions made up one sixth of all pregnancyand childbirth related
deaths. A survey conducted between 1965 and 1967 found that 8 in 10 low income women in New
York City who had an abortion attempted a dangerous self induced procedure
(planedparenthood.com).
Jane Roe (not her real name) was an unmarried woman from Texas. At the time, Texas state law
declared it a felony to conduct an abortion without the direct approval of a medical doctor. The
District Attorney of Dallas at the time was a man named Henry Wade. Roe filed a suit against Mr.
Wade and Texas State law that it was violating her Constitutional rights to choose.
It was the Supreme Court decision to overrule not only Texas s law but all laws that prohibited the
abortion of a fetus after the first trimester of a pregnancy. In a 7 2 decision they declared it was in
violation of the person s right to privacy and the Fourteenth Amendment, among others.

since to me that the decisions made are the right ones. It cannot be proven otherwise. Research can
show that planned but not executed abortion resulted in people that greatly contributed to society
and greater good. But the same argument can be said that some of the ones that were follow

42. Comparing Galileo And John Calvin s Institutes Of...
In the text of Galileo Galilei and Francis Bacon, it s plain to see that the main idea of the two
pieces would be the separation of faith and science. From reading John Calvin s Institutes of
Christian Religion there is a huge parallel of Calvin and both Bacon and Galileo s works. Calvin s
fundamental idea of scripture being authority and predestination, it ultimately leads him to two
points of government, being spiritual and the external world. Bacon and Galileo also both highlight
two points as well, significantly being two forms of knowledge, faith and science. I consider science
to be apart of the external world and I believe the two philosophers were able to strike the historical
path with this new perception on life right before the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This previous revolution caused much more controversy than desired, but to finally accept it, it
required a generous amount of open mindedness. This liberality seems to be what Galileo is
really yearning to get out of his Western audience. Essentially, this infamous letter really kicked
off the start of the Scientific Revolution; Galileo proves this by being the first to acknowledge
the idea of questioning the reason of what is inside the bible, something Descartes more than
likely looked at as he was creating his own discourse approximately 20 years later. Although
Galileo is still is a Christian and believes the bible is indeed true, as Galileo reiterates ...the Holy
Bible can never speak untruth. (57), this query seemed to be one that would pop up sooner or
later, it just happened to be sooner. To be clear, this idea to separate faith and science is in fact
based off of the foundation of the bible, which Galileo claims as well in his letter. Galileo even
promptly says, nor is God any less excellently revealed in Nature s actions that in the sacred
statements of the Bible. (58) First of all, these ideas and questions couldn t have been assumed at
all without the Nature included in God s Word Himself, and the realization to divide the two had to
have derived from inquiries about unknown logic within the pair. This separation isn t necessarily a
bad thing, it s just unheard of which would give it that negative

43. Strategic Plan For EHR
When implementing a new EHR, departments need to have a plan in place when the system
causes change to the process and design within the organization. Often times, regulations and
policies need to be changed to coincide with a new system in place, such as a new EHR program
(University of Scranton, 2017). A way to mitigate this situation is to start at the federal level s
regulations and work down the scope from there. This will guarantee that mandatory rules are still
being followed and there is successful transition into future policies. Additionally, funding will be
crucial to the organization s ability to have a new EHR system. Each department needs to ensure
they are properly tracking funds and that they can afford to upgrade.... Show more content on

By using the procurement process, the administrator can ensure they are making the right decisions
on goods and services at the right price (Purchase Control, 2017). When an administrator is
required to follow specific policies and guidelines, the steps in the process need to entertain the best
EHR system vendor without causing any delays with implementation of the new program. There
are 7 steps to the procurement process, beginning with identifying the need to purchase the goods
and services. During step one, the administrator would supply potential vendors with a request for
proposal (RFP). The RFP is a bidding technique used by the identity requesting the procurement for
the vendor s business. By doing this, the administrator has made it known that they have finances
available for the EHR system they are looking into (Wikipedia, 2017). The second step in the
process is exploring possible vendors. During this step the administrator is using the request for
information (RFI) to investigate the ability of the vendor to follow through with the needs of the
EHR system they are supplying. The RFI is used to receive hard copy information about the
vendors and their supplies. The format allows the administrator to compare multiple suppliers
(Wikipedia, 2017). At this point, the administrator would supply possible vendors with a request for
quotation (RFQ)

44. Biology Reflection
As the bell rung for the end of first period, I gathered my things and began to walk to my second
period class, Biology. Biology was always to me the hardest subject I had ever dealt with
because there was so much to learn, study, and truly understand. I walked through the door into
the classroom and I ll never forget the words I heard my teacher say that caught me so off guard.
Get out your notes and study because you have a test today , he said. As I heard him finish his
sentence, my eyes widen and I quickly moved towards my seat and began to skim over my notes
as fast as I could. I had completely forgot that I had a test in biology.
While reading over my notes, I kept thinking to myself that I just knew I was going to fail this
test. After a couple of minutes of studying, I heard the teach yell 5 more minutes . I began to
skim even faster over my notes. It felt like time was moving so fast because when I heard my teach
yell times up , it seemed as if only 2 minutes had passed by. He passed out the answer sheet around
the classroom and instructed us to fill out our student ID numbers. I looked over the unfilled
answer sheet and counted the amount of questions. There were 30 questions in total which
frightened me even more because I had to answer 30 questions on information that I barely studied.
Then he handed out the test and I became extremely nervous because not only did I barely study
and there were 30 multiple choice questions, but the classroom was so cold that
