Leon Trotsky And The Decline Of George Orwell s Animal Farm
A. Hook: The momentum of mindfulness can transform temporary thoughts into long lasting
lifestyles. B. Thesis Statement: Through his depiction of the downfall of Leon Trotsky as the eviction
of Snowball, George Orwell suggests the cyclic nature of oppressive regimes caused by societal
torpidity against dictatorships, such as the government of modern day Pakistan after the ousting of
politician Benazir Bhutto. II. Historical Background Topic Sentence: Leon Trotsky s demise despite
his revolutionary actions after the Russian Revolution reveals a tendency to resist social
transformation. A. Social acceptance of falsified evidence led to international controversy about Leon

Even though the growth of Napoleon s empire saw the increase of lies, manipulation, and deceit, the

Casablanc An Analysis Of The Movie Casablanca
Casablanca, a city home to over 3 million people located in the country of Morocco in Africa, but it
would seem that most people in America when they hear Casablanca they think of the 1942 classic
movie; Casablanca. Rather remarkable when you think about it. Anyways, onward to the film;
Casablanca.
The renowned classic romance/drama Casablanca (1942), is nearly always seen on top ten lists of
films. It is a expertly told tale of two men jockeying for the same woman s love in what some may call
a love triangle . Casablanca is a story of both political and romantic espionage and is set in the time of
war between democracy and totalitarianism. Speaking of the time period, Casablanca premiered in
1942, but was not released nationally until 1943. The black and white film is comprised of a cast of
very memorable characters, supposedly actors and actresses from 34 different nationalities were
included in it s cast. Throughout the film, there are some very memorable lines of dialogue, in fact
Casablanca is the most quoted movie according to the American Film Institute s list of it s top 100
movie quotations, it had six quotations out of the list of 100. Likewise, Humphrey Bogart was the
most quoted actor of all time with five quotations in the top 100, four of which were from Casablanca.

Differences Between The Northern And Southern Regions...
Civil War Compare and Contrast What are the differences between the Northern and Southern regions
during the Civil War? The North and the South had many differences in their regions and in their
strategies to help them win the war. The things that stood out the most were the geography, economy,
and transportation, and advantages. The Climate in the North consisted of frozen winters and hot
summers. The climate in the South consisted of short winters and long humid summers. The economy
in the North consisted of large factories and mass productions. The economy in the South consisted of
large plantations. The North s transportation was the use of railroads, which was the fastest
transportation at that time. The South s transportation was water.

The State Of Nature Is An Important And Relevant...
Erich Harkema
Prof. Wolfe
10/1/14
Intro: The state of nature is an important and relevant philosophical idea that has been discussed and
debated for a long time. The reason it is such a key topic in philosophy is it delves into the reasoning
behind why man had to create political society. In order to properly understand the philosophy of the
state of nature it is important to look at conflicting viewpoints about it in order to understand it with
less bias. Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rosseau both have differing viewpoints regarding the
state of nature. Hobbes feels that man s natural state is cowardly, fearful, almost paranoid, so man
created political society in order to protect himself. Rosseau, on the other hand, feels that man was
much happier before political society was created. Their viewpoints differ regarding the state of
nature, man s phase after leasing their state of nature, and the basis and legitimacy of the social
contract.
Hobbes and Rousseau s views on man s state of nature are quite different. Hobbes feels that man is
naturally brutish, and constantly in a state of misery due to the fact that everyone else is your
adversary and may act as they see fit. Due to this natural state, anyone could simply kill you in your
sleep, like the coward that they naturally are. Hobbes felt that because man did not understand good
and evil, man responds with violence or panic: Hobbes maintains that man is naturally intrepid and
seeks only to attack and fight...And

Marketing Mix of Ea Sports
ASSIGNMENT OF MARKETING MANAGEMENT TOPIC : MARKETING MIX MARKETING
MIX OF EA SPORTS INTODUCTION : EA Sports is a brand name used by Electronic Arts since
1993 to distribute games based on sports. Formerly a gimmick inside Electronic Arts sports games,
that tried to mimic real life sports networks, calling themselves EA Sports Network (EASN) with
pictures or endorsements of real commentators such as John Madden, it soon grew up to become a sub
label on its own, releasing game series such as FIFA, NHL, Madden NFL, and NASCAR. EA Sports
early motto, If it s in the game, it s in the game, (later abbreviated to just It s in the game.) reflects the

Hawkins was determined to sell directly to buyers. Combined with the fact that Hawkins was
pioneering new game brands, this made sales growth more challenging. Retailers wanted to buy
known brands from existing distribution partners. Despite this, revenue was $5 million in the first year
and $11 million the next. [Former CEO Larry Probst arrived as VP of Sales in late 1984 and helped
the company sustain growth into $18 million in its third full year. Teaming with the existing sales staff
that included Nancy Smith, David Klein, and David Gardner, Probst built the largest sales force of any
American game publisher. This policy of dealing directly with retailers gave EA higher margins and
better market awareness, key advantages the company would leverage to leapfrog its early
competitors. Net revenue was $3 billion up 19 percent. Gross margin was at an all time high of 62.7
percent. Operating income was up 70 percent to $776 million while operating margin reached 26
percent. Their operating cash flow was $669 million and their return on invested capital was a record
70 percent yet as successful as EA is today, the biggest opportunities are still ahead... Promotion : EA
has adopted a strategy of platform agnostic development and the creation of strong multi year

Kellogg s Special K Advertising
arketing and the media effect on young people s decisions significantly. This is largely through the use
of marketing strategies and advertising techniques which play on several key factors in order to win
over their intended audience. These factors include trends, bandwagon, claims, association,
promotion, as well as appeal and many others. By employing these strategies companies aim to coax,
even sometimes completely mislead young people into buying their products. This is evident in the
Kellogg s Special K advertisement.
Throughout the advertisement, a variety of techniques are used to entice the audience in this case
young women into buying the product. For instance, in the ad bright colours such as red and pink are
worn by the female actors in contrast with dull, fruitless white walls. This captures/retains the viewer s
attention, directing it towards the actors slim, idealistic physiques. Consequently, the advertisement
creates an image that those who eat Special K enjoy an ideal body, thus establishing appeal for the
product from many young women.
Another example of marketing strategies during the ad is the use of pathos (emotional appeal). For
instance, the ad slogan you don t just wake up looking fabulous implies that the viewer needs Special
K to do so, appealing yet again to the viewer s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Character Of King Arthur
King Arthur was a legendary hero who is known for his brave acts of kindness and his courageous
actions in battle. He was a man of honor. Unfortunately, his character makes some drastic changes
throughout his tales. These changes can lead the reader to have different opinions of Arthur s
character. For example, he never wanted to accept that his Queen was having an affair with his most
celebrated knight, Lancelot. However, he does end up in battle with Lancelot but only after the death
of Sir Gawain s unarmed brothers at the hands of Sir Lancelot. Arthur uses Gawain s grudge to justify
battle with Lancelot to not make himself appear as a fool for knowing what was happening between
Guinevere and Lancelot and not doing anything about their actions. In the beginning, Arthur was not
ruthless, yet after having many people test his kindness, he became focused on revenge. Many
powerful dukes and barons resisted King Arthur s effort to unify Britain (King Arthur 431). King
Arthur spent many of his first years in power downsizing the dukes of northern Britain, Scotland, and
Wales because no one took him seriously. He was forced to become a ruthless leader to achieve the
goals he had set forth.
Lancelot was one of Arthur s bravest knights and the lover of Arthur s queen Guinevere. Lancelot
defended Guinevere multiple times in her acts of treason. Lancelot also became the head of the
roundtable. However, Lancelot betrayed his king and thereby lost his proficiency and skill to

Musical Theatre Analysis
Musical theatre is a cherished topic of interest across the cities of Australia with each production
touring, rehearsing and performing with passion, talent, determination, zest and undeniable gratitude
of their place on the stage. This comparison of mass media will explore two reviews of Annie the
musical; one performed by the Adelaide Youth Theatre and the other by the Australian Touring Cast.
Each performance was critiqued with an aim to inform the audience about the shows quality. The
Adelaide Theatre Guide reviewed an amateur performance by the youths of South Australian, whereas
the Brisbane Times critiqued the professional Touring Australian Cast.

the review in a feisty manner, stating Annie being incredibly dated, so very of its era . Adelaide
Theatre Guide reviewer, Kylie Pedler used an inviting tone; style and vocabulary which engaged the
audience to believe Pedler thoroughly enjoyed the show and formed a relationship with the audience
and cast. A key example of this connection is the closing statement of a production deserving high
praise great family entertainment and an opportunity for youth . This statement automatically allows
the audience to feel confident in Peddlers judgement and expertise in live musical theatre. As recently
mentioned the Brisbane Times introduced this fun loving musical in a sort of feisty manner, a reason
for the experienced style and tone could have been influenced by the Great Depression occurring
during Annie s original days. The Brisbane Times publishes their reviewer as The Usher . Towards the
end of the review The Usher did make a connection with the audience. Similarly to Pedler, Usher
provided a statement those who know and love and live for Annie should really get a kick

Compare And Contrast The Movie And Beowulf Essay
Comparative Essay: Beowulf The Book and The Movie
Beowulf, a hero, which is a savior figure. He stands up for a cause and belief against great odds. When
Beowulf was composed, England was changing from a pagan to a Christian culture. Beowulf reflects
both pagan and Christian traditions. In this essay, I will compare the 2007 British American 3D
motion film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Neil Gaines And Roger Avary, and also the
book version mentioning the personality of Beowulf, Grendel, Grendel s mom and the battle with the
dragon. In the movie and poem Beowulf s personality is shown differently and expressed in a different
form. In the movie and poem Beowulf there was many differences and similarities that were
noticeable such as the portrayal of Grendel s mother, Grendel being the son of Hrothgar, and Beowulf
s battle with the dragon.
In the 2007 movie, other than the setting and plot, it was totally different from the original poem, It
was very entertaining but didn t follow the original poem. Grendel s mother was a beautiful Angelina
Jolie while in the book she was very often described as a grimy slimy monster. The similarities were
when Beowulf s heroic characteristics and the severing of Grendel s arm ; however, the movie
mentioned the seductive scene of Grendel s mother and how the product of this sin is his son the
dragon, while in the text this beast is regarded as a rogue monster. As mentioned in the poem, Beowulf
arose, with his men around him,

Creating Security Polices And Controls
Creating Security Polices and Controls
An organization s security plan comprises of security approaches. Security approaches give particular
rules for ranges of obligation, and comprise of arrangements that give steps to take and standards to
take after to implement the policies.
Policies must be in such away that which we consider more important and what are the steps we are
going to take to safe guard them.
Different types of Security Policies
Security policies can be characterized for any range of security. There could be approaches for the
entire organization or strategies for different segments inside of the organization. The different sorts of
policies that could be incorporated are:
1. Responsibilities of users
2. Responsibilities of administrators
3. Internet policy
4. Restore and back up
5. email
In the part of our network project development we are using security policies such as group policy,
firewall configurations and backup and disaster recovery plan.
Group Policy
Group Policy is a method for driving guidelines about PC design and client behaviour. It is
conceivable to have diverse policies all through the organization. As a client interfaces with a
Windows 2012 area controller that has Group Policy settings empowered, the strategies are naturally
downloaded to the client s PC and put away in the registry. A portion of the settings include:
a. Addition or deleting of things from the control panel and desktop.

Susan Glaspell s A Jury Of Her Peers And Flannery O ...
The oppression of women has occurred all throughout history across the world in the thousands of
years that patriarchy has existed. During recent times as social standards have progressed, the voices
of women are heard more often than long ago. Nonetheless, it is often overlooked that women of
decades before used their voices in other ways in order to speak out against oppression. One of the
ways these women did this was in their literary writing. Despite the progress made today to stand up
against oppression of women, there is much that can be learned by looking back at problematic
situations portrayed by women writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Out of all of the texts written by
women only three will be discussed; Rebecca Harding Davis s Life in the Iron Mills, Susan Glaspell s
A Jury of Her Peers and Flannery O Connor s Good Country People, in which specific symbols are
used as representations of the ways in which women were oppressed and how important it is to study
these texts today. By narrowing down the number of literary texts to three as well as discussing only
one literary device from each, one can begin to understand the importance of learning about the
American women s literary tradition. Beginning with Rebecca Harding Davis s Life in the Iron Mills,
readers can find within the text a clear oppression of lower class peoples that is also an indirect
oppression of women as lower class individuals. Davis tells this story with a man named Hugh Wolfe

Can the Subaltern Speak Summary
Can the Subaltern Speak? Summary Gayatri Spivak Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak is an unsettling voice
in literary theory and especially, postcolonial studies. She has describes herself as a practical
deconstructionist feminist Marxist and as a gadfly . She uses deconstruction to examine how truth is
constructed and to deploy the assertions of one intellectual and political position (such as Marxism) to
interrupt or bring into crisis another (feminism, for example). In her work, she combines passionate
denunciations of the harm done to women, non Europeans, and the poor by the privileged West with a
persistent questioning of the grounds on which radical critique takes its stand. Her continual
interrogation of assumptions can make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As poststructuralism would have it, human consciousness is constructed discursively. Our subjectivity
is constructed by the shifting discourses of power which endlessly speak through us, situating us here
and there in particular positions and relations. In these terms we are not the authors of ourselves. We
do not construct our identities, we have it written for us; the subject cannot be sovereign over the
construction of selfhood. Instead the subject is decentered, in that its consciousness is always being
constructed from positions outside of itself. It follows then that the individual is not a transparent
representation of the self but an effect of discourse. Spivak argues that surprisingly for these figures,
when Foucault and Deleuze talks about oppressed groups such as the working classes they fall back
into precisely these uncritical notions of sovereign subjects by restoring to them a fully centred
consciousness. In addition they also assume that the writing of intellectuals such as themselves can
serve as a transparent medium through which the voices of the oppressed can be represented. The
intellectual is cast as a reliable mediator for the voices of the oppressed, a mothpiece through which
the oppressed can clearly speak. Spivak articulates her reasons for her worries in the first part of the
essay, applying MICHEL FOUCAULT s understanding of epistemic violence to the remotely
orchestrated, far flung, and heterogeneous project to

questions about how to prevent the slaughter of civilians by their own government, or to stop a civil
war whose violence and suffering can engulf an entire region (Scott U.S. Intervention). Sometimes to
achieve total peace, one must engage in violence to bring tranquility to the world. Since the late 1800

Some may think that this War on Terrorism has been a waste of time, however as the war drove on the
American military, along with a coalition of other countries, helped drive out the Taliban and rebuild
Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran (Tindall America A Narrative). Without America s aid, the
Taliban would still be plaguing the Middle East. Also the U.S. intervention helped keep the peace
throughout the rebellious countries. The quote stated in the opening paragraph by President Obama
means that U.S. intervention is the best option because it helps stop the threat of other revolutions in
the neighboring countries (Scott). With the presence of a bigger more powering military looming in
the distance then the rebellions and revolutions would be minimized because of the fear of facing the
superior force with inferior power.
Even though majority of America s interventions in other countries have been for the greater good,
America has gotten involved in places that they should not have gotten involved in. In the late 1800 s
America had gone to war against Spain with no justification except for the fear of political backfire.
With the sinking of the Maine, America sought out retribution even after Spain denounced that they
had any part in the sinking of the naval ship. As a result of the war, America had

She was tall, lovely and beautiful. She had a complex personality. In some myth she was peaceful and

String Quartet No. 4
The setting of this performance was just in the classroom. It was very informal, which was nice. The
audience was mostly students from our class as well as being students from a theory class. The first
piece String Quartet No. 5, Op. 18, by Beethoven, was very upbeat. It felt like I was in at formal dance

pace, but then went to a tone that was a little darker and then followed with some happy again. The
second song was String Quartet No. 4 by Leon Kirchner was quite interesting. The song had many

The third song String Quartet No. 4 by Henry Cowell was very interesting as well. This song gave a

Economic And Political Policies During The First World War...
The four decades prior to World War One (WWI) and the three decades after World War Two (WWII)
can be characterized as periods of great globalization and economic integration. As different parts of
the world grew more interconnected, and the prosperity of one nation became tethered to the
prosperity of another, many world actors searched for the right recipe of economic and political
policies to help them weather the turbulent global market. In the first era, we see a focus on three
pillars as the foundation for the world economic order. This included the gold standard, free trade, and
the growth of international finance. In the second era, which proceeded WWII, similar policies were

However, they fail to cover the distinct differences between the two time periods. For one, the second
era focused more on a harmonious application of these policies through the use of social welfare
programs and mixed economic systems. To counteract the unpredictable nature of the business cycle,
many governments began to provide safety nets for their citizens. Governments chose to protect

major distinction between the two eras, which was increased autonomy to pursue polices conducive to
domestic prosperity after WWII. In addition, in the second era differnet groups such as political and
economic elites as well as capital and labor work together to figure out solutions that are more
utilitarian. Finally, as mentioned before, two major camps formed after WWII and they each proposed
their own world economic order. This differs from the golden age which only offered global
integration or economic retardation. In the post WWII period, the second world and the third world

New Jersey History
When people think about New Jersey in todays time they think of beautiful beaches, good diners, and
its nickname the garden state . But what most people don t know is its history. Some don t even know
it was one of the thirteen original colonies. New Jersey also has a few sports teams that people may
recognize like the New Jersey Devils and the Atlantic City Cardsharks. New Jersey one of the thirteen
original colonies, was founded in 1664 by Lord Berkley and Sir George Carteret because the king of
France wanted to explore the unknown land in between Newfoundland and Florida, the Dutch,
Swedes, and the Finnish wanted to settle there because of trading, and because the British took over
because they wanted to add it to their colonies. Giovanni Da Verrazano was the first European that
traveled across the ocean in 1524 (Tamara Orr). He was looking for an unknown area between Florida
and Newfoundland. He ended up in what people know today as New Jersey. He anchored off in Sandy
Hook. The colonial history of New Jersey started after Henry Hudson sailed through Newark Bay in
1609 (A Short History of New Jersey). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Collier Irony
The Darkest Form of Irony
Part One: Analysis
I thought the introduction was a good one. When I read an introduction, I want to be introduced to the
characters and learn a little about the setting of the story and brings in the reader using just the right
amount of description and makes the ask for more. When Collier writes and peered about for a long
time on the dime landing before he found the name he wanted written obscurely on one of the doors.
What he wrote there said more than just the words on the paper, he sets the scene to a group home or
apartment building. He also sets the tone to a very spooky scenario, the third thing he did with in this
sentence by giving a brief and subtle description of who Alan has come to see, this is ... Show more

From his style to his commonly used literary devices he uses a lot of irony, from dramatic to dark
irony. It is very present in much of his work from the short blurbs for some of his other work like
Elephant Boy and Married to a Chimp ironic humor is very present within his work. He is also very
sneaky with his irony in the short story The Chaser the final thing the old man says is Au revoir the
direct translation of this is until we meet again. He also hints at this in the title The Chaser in the
context I believe he is using it in is a drink weaker drink taken after a strong one. In the case of Alan
the love potion is the strong drink, only costing one dollar to purchase. And the chaser is the glove
cleaner which costs 5000 dollars. Because the buyer of the love potion will most likely be poor at the
time he must later return to buy the glove cleaner to rectify his previous purchase of the love

Australia Does Not Have Its Own Culture Essay examples
Australian culture has vanished and turned into multiculturalism. There is no longer a typical
Australian culture, but it has been replaced by a melting pot of diversity. There is no longer a typical
Australian food, instead it has imported and embraced cuisines from around the world. There is no
longer a typical Australian life instead each immigrant can have their own culture in Australia. There
are few national holidays and festivals that are unique to Australia, but rather have come from other
cultures. To get a better understanding of this, culture is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as:

So what s so unique about that? Therefore, there is no longer a typical Australian food as the foods
have come from many various cultures.
Secondly, Australia consists of many cultures where each cultural group is allowed to have their own
unique culture without integrating with Australian people. One could come from China and not even
have to speak English because there are so many Chinese people in Australia over 1,950,000 Chinese
live in Australia. Since Australia has many mixed cultures one could have their own culture in
Australia. So many immigrants have come in a short space of time from over 226 different cultures
thus diluting Australia s original culture. Migrants have enriched almost every aspect of Australian
life, from business to the arts, from cooking to comedy and from science to sport. Australia s laws
allow immigrants to express their own culture here. This all the more showing that Australia consists
of many diverse cultures and that immigrants have changed the lifestyle in Australia.
Lastly, most, if not all of Australia s national holidays and festivals, have come from diverse cultures.
Six of the main festivals celebrated in Australia are Chinese New Year, Oz Asia festivals, Christmas
pageant, Brisbane s French Experience, St Patrick s Day, and Australia Day. Quite frankly not one of
those festivals can teach someone a single thing about Australian culture but rather other cultures. Out
of those six

Andrew Carnegie Industrial Capitalism Outline
Denise Liu History 17B Mary Ignoffo Writing Assignment Industrial Capitalism I. Introductory
Nineteenth century was the golden time of the United States, author Mark Twain named this period of
time: Gilded Age. There was a fast quick way to get rich, which could be told from the success of
Andrew Carnegie, who owned the empire of steel, and John D. Rockefeller, who was the king of his
oil kingdom, but also made many people suffer from their wealth, and some of them faced bankrupt
because of the promising lure. The power boom of industrialists made the rich happy, and made the
poor sad. The Supreme Court stood with the rich, but apparently some groups did not like the forced
monopoly game, they tried to fight back. Unfortunately, this game has not stopped yet, America is
finding a way to shift the economic justice today. II. What is industrial capitalism Industrial capitalism

Control Mechanisms in the Workplace Essay
Control mechanisms in the workplace will assist in the planning development for customer

determine whether these mechanisms are effective by examining the positive and negative reactions to
these control mechanisms, and explain how these control mechanisms influenced the four functions of

Albert Camus The Stranger, is told by narrarator, Meursault . Our speaker seems to be a person
detached from feelings, he shows no emotion. Neither the external world in which Meursault lives nor

emotional events do not even seem to effect him as they would for most people. They don t even make

disappointed in him but loves him and still wants to marry him. She is loyal to Meursault and stands

onto hope in her life. She believes in an upside in things. She shows emotion. For these reasons she is
not like Meursault. She can t just be so indifferent like her lover. They are on different mental levels
and have different views of the world around them. For these reasons I believe that Marie is a free

think this is part of the reason she likes Meursault. He doesn t question her about what she does when
he is not around(even though its because he doesn t care).

he would be. I use the term friend loosely because with such and indifferent personality, a real friend

How would you rate Xi Jinping s visit to the US (Sept.24 25) on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is utter

On September 25th, 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to the United States in a
gesture meant to reciprocate United States President Barack Obama s trip to Beijing last November in
2014. The visit served as an opportunity to bolster US China relations and cooperation among a
variety of global and bilateral issues, endeavoring to close their discord and strive for progress. It also
served as a strategic move to improve the relationship between America and China so that they stay on
track with their Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations. The two leaders both addressed issues such
as China s alleged cyberespionage, military relations, people to people exchange, and China s act of
intimidation in the off the Alaskan coast. Moreover, Xi Jinping intended to meet with American tech
leaders with a desire to boost the economies of both nations. The question at hand is the measure of
success this visit and to what extent it lived up to its intention of expanding and deepening cooperation
. If I were to put this visit up to a scale of 1 to 10, I d rate it a 7/10 which is what I d like to call
success with caution . There are many aspects of the visit that I believe greatly improved US China

What is the effect of Endometriosis on In Vitro Fertilisation success rates?
INTRODUCTION
Endometriosis is a condition that affects around 6 10% of the female population12 and can have
distressing effects on the lives of these women. The exact cause of endometriosis is unknown3 but it is
thought that genetics play a role as daughters or sisters of women are at higher risk.13 Endometriosis
is also a cause of infertility2 with around 30 50% of women with endometriosis also being infertile.12
Endometriosis can affect any woman regardless of age or ethnicity14 and can affect children as young
as eight. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is one of the most common methods used in artificial

DISCUSSION
What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a common condition1 recognised by the growth of endometrial tissue outside of the
uterus. This tissue is then found in a variety of sites such as the ovaries, the outside surface of the
uterus, the cervix, the abdominal wall, the sigmoid colon and the urinary bladder.2 It is unknown what
exactly causes endometriosis but it is thought to occur when some cells from the endometrium (the
lining of the uterus) travel outside the uterus via the uterine tubes during a period3. Even outside the
womb, these cells, will still respond to the presence of hormonal oestrogen each month and with each
menstrual cycle the cells will multiply, swell and break down in similar fashion to the endometrial
cells inside the uterus.2 As the cells are in the pelvic cavity rather than the uterus, they cannot escape
during the period and instead form patches of tissue called

Nighthawks Communication Analysis
The value of communication allows one to notice things apart from one another. When emphasizing
something one draws attention to it, this emphasis is a principle in art. Another principle similar to
emphasis is focal point, which highlights certain part of an artwork. Subordination draws this attention
away, these principles: emphasis, focal point, and subordination define an artwork s design and its
artist sentiment. Artist, Edward Hopper, and his painting Nighthawks, support the increment of these
principles within the painting. The utilization of emphasis, focal point, and subordination create a
fascination to the eye to define the artwork and its significance. In the painting Nighthawks, the area
of emphasis in the picture is on the

My Experience In High School
Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises
us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program
you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom
and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that
moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my
grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam.
Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was
crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers.
Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school
offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam.
Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the
exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last
name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The
spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the
boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed
in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is
sitting in the far front.
During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was
coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a
few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am
going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I
so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he

consensual sex can result in harm and radical feminists and queer theorists have failed to acknowledge

are not the same because there is a difference in the qualitative experience. (p.8) In the non consensual

So ultimately company adopted alternate thinking of cutting prices involved and these measures were

been replaced by BOPP paper to reduce cost. With entry of competitors like Britania, HUL and ITC

can have daring consequences for their flagship product Parle G.
The dilemma of December 2009:
A price hike seemed like a necessity to restore the margins; a hike in the price had the potential to

  • 5. The State Of Nature Is An Important And Relevant... Erich Harkema Prof. Wolfe 10/1/14 Intro: The state of nature is an important and relevant philosophical idea that has been discussed and debated for a long time. The reason it is such a key topic in philosophy is it delves into the reasoning behind why man had to create political society. In order to properly understand the philosophy of the state of nature it is important to look at conflicting viewpoints about it in order to understand it with less bias. Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rosseau both have differing viewpoints regarding the state of nature. Hobbes feels that man s natural state is cowardly, fearful, almost paranoid, so man created political society in order to protect himself. Rosseau, on the other hand, feels that man was much happier before political society was created. Their viewpoints differ regarding the state of nature, man s phase after leasing their state of nature, and the basis and legitimacy of the social contract. Hobbes and Rousseau s views on man s state of nature are quite different. Hobbes feels that man is naturally brutish, and constantly in a state of misery due to the fact that everyone else is your adversary and may act as they see fit. Due to this natural state, anyone could simply kill you in your sleep, like the coward that they naturally are. Hobbes felt that because man did not understand good and evil, man responds with violence or panic: Hobbes maintains that man is naturally intrepid and seeks only to attack and fight...And ... This is largely through the use of marketing strategies and advertising techniques which play on several key factors in order to win over their intended audience. These factors include trends, bandwagon, claims, association, promotion, as well as appeal and many others. By employing these strategies companies aim to coax, even sometimes completely mislead young people into buying their products. This is evident in the Kellogg s Special K advertisement. Throughout the advertisement, a variety of techniques are used to entice the audience in this case young women into buying the product. For instance, in the ad bright colours such as red and pink are worn by the female actors in contrast with dull, fruitless white walls. This captures/retains the viewer s attention, directing it towards the actors slim, idealistic physiques. Consequently, the advertisement creates an image that those who eat Special K enjoy an ideal body, thus establishing appeal for the product from many young women. • 8. Character Of King Arthur King Arthur was a legendary hero who is known for his brave acts of kindness and his courageous actions in battle. He was a man of honor. Unfortunately, his character makes some drastic changes throughout his tales. These changes can lead the reader to have different opinions of Arthur s character. For example, he never wanted to accept that his Queen was having an affair with his most celebrated knight, Lancelot. However, he does end up in battle with Lancelot but only after the death of Sir Gawain s unarmed brothers at the hands of Sir Lancelot. Arthur uses Gawain s grudge to justify battle with Lancelot to not make himself appear as a fool for knowing what was happening between Guinevere and Lancelot and not doing anything about their actions. In the beginning, Arthur was not ruthless, yet after having many people test his kindness, he became focused on revenge. Many powerful dukes and barons resisted King Arthur s effort to unify Britain (King Arthur 431). King Arthur spent many of his first years in power downsizing the dukes of northern Britain, Scotland, and Wales because no one took him seriously. He was forced to become a ruthless leader to achieve the goals he had set forth. Lancelot was one of Arthur s bravest knights and the lover of Arthur s queen Guinevere. Lancelot defended Guinevere multiple times in her acts of treason. Lancelot also became the head of the roundtable. However, Lancelot betrayed his king and thereby lost his proficiency and skill to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He stands up for a cause and belief against great odds. When Beowulf was composed, England was changing from a pagan to a Christian culture. Beowulf reflects both pagan and Christian traditions. In this essay, I will compare the 2007 British American 3D motion film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Neil Gaines And Roger Avary, and also the book version mentioning the personality of Beowulf, Grendel, Grendel s mom and the battle with the dragon. In the movie and poem Beowulf s personality is shown differently and expressed in a different form. In the movie and poem Beowulf there was many differences and similarities that were noticeable such as the portrayal of Grendel s mother, Grendel being the son of Hrothgar, and Beowulf s battle with the dragon. In the 2007 movie, other than the setting and plot, it was totally different from the original poem, It was very entertaining but didn t follow the original poem. Grendel s mother was a beautiful Angelina Jolie while in the book she was very often described as a grimy slimy monster. The similarities were when Beowulf s heroic characteristics and the severing of Grendel s arm ; however, the movie mentioned the seductive scene of Grendel s mother and how the product of this sin is his son the dragon, while in the text this beast is regarded as a rogue monster. • 13. Susan Glaspell s A Jury Of Her Peers And Flannery O ... The oppression of women has occurred all throughout history across the world in the thousands of years that patriarchy has existed. During recent times as social standards have progressed, the voices of women are heard more often than long ago. Nonetheless, it is often overlooked that women of decades before used their voices in other ways in order to speak out against oppression. One of the ways these women did this was in their literary writing. Despite the progress made today to stand up against oppression of women, there is much that can be learned by looking back at problematic situations portrayed by women writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Out of all of the texts written by women only three will be discussed; Rebecca Harding Davis s Life in the Iron Mills, Susan Glaspell s A Jury of Her Peers and Flannery O Connor s Good Country People, in which specific symbols are used as representations of the ways in which women were oppressed and how important it is to study these texts today. By narrowing down the number of literary texts to three as well as discussing only one literary device from each, one can begin to understand the importance of learning about the American women s literary tradition. Beginning with Rebecca Harding Davis s Life in the Iron Mills, readers can find within the text a clear oppression of lower class peoples that is also an indirect oppression of women as lower class individuals. She has describes herself as a practical deconstructionist feminist Marxist and as a gadfly . She uses deconstruction to examine how truth is constructed and to deploy the assertions of one intellectual and political position (such as Marxism) to interrupt or bring into crisis another (feminism, for example). In her work, she combines passionate denunciations of the harm done to women, non Europeans, and the poor by the privileged West with a persistent questioning of the grounds on which radical critique takes its stand. Her continual interrogation of assumptions can make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As poststructuralism would have it, human consciousness is constructed discursively. Our subjectivity is constructed by the shifting discourses of power which endlessly speak through us, situating us here and there in particular positions and relations. In these terms we are not the authors of ourselves. We do not construct our identities, we have it written for us; the subject cannot be sovereign over the construction of selfhood. Instead the subject is decentered, in that its consciousness is always being constructed from positions outside of itself. It follows then that the individual is not a transparent representation of the self but an effect of discourse. Spivak argues that surprisingly for these figures, when Foucault and Deleuze talks about oppressed groups such as the working classes they fall back into precisely these uncritical notions of sovereign subjects by restoring to them a fully centred consciousness. In addition they also assume that the writing of intellectuals such as themselves can serve as a transparent medium through which the voices of the oppressed can be represented. The intellectual is cast as a reliable mediator for the voices of the oppressed, a mothpiece through which the oppressed can clearly speak. Spivak articulates her reasons for her worries in the first part of the essay, applying MICHEL FOUCAULT s understanding of epistemic violence to the remotely orchestrated, far flung, and heterogeneous project to ... The four decades prior to World War One (WWI) and the three decades after World War Two (WWII) can be characterized as periods of great globalization and economic integration. This could be a possible result of her father and mother having an abusive relationship while she was growing up. After only two short years of the school being open, they were forced to shut it down, due to it being unsuccessful. Provide detailed reasons in support of your answer On September 25th, 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to the United States in a gesture meant to reciprocate United States President Barack Obama s trip to Beijing last November in 2014. The visit served as an opportunity to bolster US China relations and cooperation among a variety of global and bilateral issues, endeavoring to close their discord and strive for progress. It also served as a strategic move to improve the relationship between America and China so that they stay on track with their Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations. The two leaders both addressed issues such as China s alleged cyberespionage, military relations, people to people exchange, and China s act of intimidation in the off the Alaskan coast. Moreover, Xi Jinping intended to meet with American tech leaders with a desire to boost the economies of both nations. The question at hand is the measure of success this visit and to what extent it lived up to its intention of expanding and deepening cooperation . Endometriosis is a common condition1 recognised by the growth of endometrial tissue outside of the uterus. This tissue is then found in a variety of sites such as the ovaries, the outside surface of the uterus, the cervix, the abdominal wall, the sigmoid colon and the urinary bladder.2 It is unknown what exactly causes endometriosis but it is thought to occur when some cells from the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) travel outside the uterus via the uterine tubes during a period3. Even outside the womb, these cells, will still respond to the presence of hormonal oestrogen each month and with each menstrual cycle the cells will multiply, swell and break down in similar fashion to the endometrial cells inside the uterus.2 As the cells are in the pelvic cavity rather than the uterus, they cannot escape during the period and instead form patches of tissue called ... My Experience In High School Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam. Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers. Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam. Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is sitting in the far front. During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he will stop talking, he didn t.
