Essay Volcanoes
Affects of Volcanoes
The plates which are about 20 miles thick, make up the earth s crust and are a chief cause of volcanic
activity. These plates are always in motion. They move very slowly, however some at times bump in
to each other. These movements put a lot of pressure on the surface rock. Volcanoes obtain their
energies from such movement and pressure. Volcanoes form at the boundaries of these plate where
two types of movement occurs, two plates will collide with each other or the plates will move apart
from each other. Some of these plates layers are cooled and are made up of rigid rocks.

Also lava flow is more life threatening but can produce a lot of property damage as well as economic
loss. Volcanic ash can collapse roofs and damage crops, especially if they become wet from rainfall.
Debris flows called lahars that are mixtures of volcanic debris and water made from melted snow or
ice or heavy rainfall. If anything comes in the path of lahar can destroy and also travel quickly through
valleys.
Indirect hazards are usually non volcanic effects that accompany or follow eruptions. Examples are
rainfall caused debris flow, and post eruption disease and famine. Tsunamis are large seismic sea
waves generated by sudden movement of the seafloor. This sudden seafloor movement can be caused
by a large earthquake or by the collapse of an island volcano during or after an eruption. Tsunamis can
devastate low lying coastal areas and can be deadly if people living in such areas are not evacuated.
Indirect hazards also include volcanic deposits from large eruptions. These deposits can blanket farm
fields and grazing lands, leading to the loss of crops and livestock and ultimately to the starvation of
people dependent on them for life. During the period from the 17th century to the 19th century,
tsunamis and posteruption starvation and disease caused most eruption related deaths.

Essay On Apology By Plato
The Apology by Plato provides a deep credible account of Socrates defending of himself against the
accusation of corrupting the young before the Athenian Council. Within the text, the words of Socrates
are delivered as they are remembered by Plato. It is important to note that previously Plato was both a
student and a disciple of Socrates, therefore his rendition of the trial could have been considerably
biased towards the man he viewed as a tremendous hero. Ultimately, Plato s account describes what he
holds to be true about his hero, even though Socrates teachings are somewhat idealized by his pupil.
There also may be a possibility that Socrates defense of himself may be stronger than the argument
that is originally perceived and understood.
The dialog consists of a number of different parts. Socrates begins with an introductory statement
which deals with his manner of speaking: One of the many lies they told, one in particular surprised
me, namely that you should be careful not to be deceived by an accomplished speaker like me . This
indicates the defensive tone of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and the second is known as the contemporary denunciation which was made by Anytus, Meletus and

of the interlocutors in Plato s early dialogues. Cambridge University Press. This book outlines that for
Socrates: His defense is prompted by his recognition that these charges have not arisen in a vacuum
and by his belief that his conduct has been misconstrued by his accusers . This indicates that for Plato,
as a student of Socrates and writer of The Apology , all accusations and rumours made about Socrates
are due to a false impression of his work and

Industrial Revolution and Social Changes
Introduction:
Between 1760 and 1860, technological progress, education, and an increasing capital stock
transformed England into the workshop of the world. The industrial revolution, as the transformation
came to be called, caused a sustained rise in real income per person in England and, as its effects
spread, the rest of the Western world. Historians agree that the industrial revolution was one of the
most important events in history, marking the rapid transition to the modern age, but they disagree
about various aspects of the event. Of all the disagreements, the oldest one is over how the industrial
revolution affected ordinary people, usually called the working classes. One group, the pessimists,
argues that the living standards of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Britain emerged from the Napoleonic Wars as the only European nation not ravaged by financial
plunder and economic collapse, and possessing the only merchant fleet of any useful size (European
merchant fleets having been destroyed during the war by the Royal navy Britain s extensive exporting
cottage industries also ensured markets were already available for many early forms of manufactured
goods. The conflict resulted in most British warfare being conducted overseas, reducing the
devastating effects of territorial conquest that affected much of Europe. This was further aided by
Britain s geographical position an island separated from the rest of mainland Europe.
Another theory is that Britain was able to succeed in the Industrial Revolution due to the availability
of key resources it possessed. It had a dense population for its small geographical size. Enclosure of
common land and the related agricultural revolution made a supply of this labour readily available.
There was also a local coincidence of natural resources in the North of England, the English Midlands,
South Wales and the Scottish Lowlands. Local supplies of coal, iron, lead, copper, tin, limestone and
water power, resulted in excellent conditions for the development and expansion of

The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The...
Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They
have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives.
Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating
financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on the
consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions that
support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and increase
in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve energy access
by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international price volatility
and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for sustainable development,
2012). In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA, 2002) and (UNEP, 2008)
identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support the production and
consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants to producers, low
interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax treatment: tax credits,
tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates, deferred tax liabilities and
accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions: tariffs, tariff rate import
quotas

Corinthian Religion
The church that Paul had established in Corinth was all sorts of controversies and divisions such as
division among themselves, lawsuits before unbelievers, moral disorders etc... Paul addressed the
Corinthian believers but also it seems his letter is relevant to all followers of Christ up to this date. I
therefore would like to choose one issue which is moral disorder sexual immorality happened in
Corinth. Besides other issues, Paul also had to deal with the problem of sexual immorality (1Cor. 6:12
20). Clearly that some of the Corinthians were going to prostitutes. It seems like the Corinthians
wanted to justify themselves in saying, Food for the stomach and the stomach for food (6:13) or just
simply say when you are hungry, you eat. However, in regarding to this, Paul addressed that the body
is the members of Christ (6:15) and the temple of the Holy Spirit (6:19); not to be used for immorality,
but for the Lord (6:13). He also argued that For the two, it says, will become one flesh (6:16). This
implied to the human marriage where the love of husband and wife reflect the love of Christ for his
Church. No one is allowing separating them. Also, he asserted that our bodies no longer belong to us
but to Christ. Then we should not do anything to harm them for if we are united to prostitutes are
actually harmful to the body.

following all the tasks and then will provide Recommendations by analyzing the problems given in the
task prompts. We will also apply the appropriate decision analysis tool to make reliable and valid
Recommendations.

The profitability problem is one of the most important problems of future profitability when opening a
new store process and is the important content of the course of operation management. By
recommending the use of this crucial tool, we need to understand, that this will give Shuzworld a
direction, to which one of the three options is the best (the stand alone option, opening of a brand new
store or to do nothing now) for the most cost effectively and profitability option.
Also I am recommending this tool, because the decision tree analysis process, which are of great
importance in the industrial production of high quantity standardized products (Shoes, sandals, etc)
and lately has gained importance in the low volume production of customized products. Due to the
high capital requirements when looking for the opening of a new store, decision tree analysis is of
great relevance for the manufacturing business. Because of it, this attracted the attention of the
manufacturing industry, who tried to support practical cost effectively analysis by using the proper
profitability models.
Now, we will analyzed, which one of the three options is the most cost effective and profitable, than
the other two. To finally be able to make the proper recommendation. We need to find out, which one
of the exact EMV, in which process (option), will become more cost effective and

Age Of Enlightenment Research Paper
The Late 17th and 18th century was a time of many changes. With the new era becoming the Age of

of John Locke, Voltaire, Adam Smith and Mary Wollstonecraft. These thinkers (Philosophers) had
many general ideas in common but all had unique ideas. With so many philosophers in the 17th

Men and Women Were Created Equ Essay

Men and Women were Created Equal Men are not superior to women, they are equal in every way.
Although it is true that society has stereotyped women into traditional roles, this preconceived notion,
is totally false. Action to promote the concept of equality in our society needs to be taken. Women
have been fighting for equality for many decades. As a result of this battle, some amazing
transformations have taken place amongst the female gender. Women have become educated and over
the last few decades have started to take active roles and their rightful place in society. They have

2 Another example of women sharing an equal role in today s society is demonstrated in the military.
Today s women joining the Canadian Armed Forces are equally eligible with men for combat roles.
Over 229,000 women serve on active duty in the military services of the Department of Defense. This
monumental step allows women to become takers, as well as producers of life. Women now have
equal rights and responsibilities in the defense of our country. These advances have been made, not
only on the ground but in the air as well. In 1988, Deanna Brasseur became Canada s first female
fighter pilot. That same year, the defense department appointed their first female general, Sheila
Hellstrom. The department also stated that women often do better at riflery than men due to the fact
that they listen to instruction while men tend to think they know it all. A male veteran sergeant, proud
of his work with female recruits, says that: Today s women won t find anything that hard to adjust to
in the military. The facts are telling a tale. Many doors are opening for women and they are barreling
through with boundless energy and determination. The 21st century is here and the traditional role of
the stay at home mother is all but disappeared. Marriage and children are still signs of the successful
women, however women are less willing to accept exclusive roles of housewife and mother. More and

Informative Essay On Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras, first introduced to New Orleans in the early 1730s, is now one of the most celebrated
holidays by many natives in Louisiana. Several events are planned for the celebration, beginning in
late October or November, which leads into the Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras involves a series of
events and products like Mardi Gras Balls, delicious cakes that are famously known as King Cakes,
and parades every day beginning in January and ending on the day that is designated Mardi Gras Day,
also known as Fat Tuesday. Fat Tuesday is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, the Catholic holiday
that marks the beginning of Lent. During the parades, the people riding on the floats throw beads,
candy, and stuffed animals, sometimes even other things, to those who have come from all around the
world to witness a true New Orleans Mardi Gras. Some companies will even shut down their
businesses to celebrate this holiday, even though it is not a national holiday. By ... Show more content

White Privilege In Education Essay
The education system is notorious for teaching its own agenda, and not necessarily all the facts of a
situation. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it means
to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the subject of
privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without privilege. White
privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes to the power and
superiority white people feel over everyone else. When the Michael Brown shooting occurred, it
opened up many people s eyes to the inequalities that are being perpetrated by the very education
system meant to teach students how to live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum
works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming
practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to disadvantage
certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et. al. 2004. 94).
First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This curriculum would consist
of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one side of the story. In many
history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective, and that perspective is of
white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts. It also includes the way the
teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement impacts the students psych in a
way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white student constantly for doing a job
well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way, that will leave the impression that
the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum
works to re inforce the problems society already has. In the work force, it is a common known fact
that

Ellen, Harry and her husband went home that day with enough supply line equipment to last two
weeks. I was confused as to how a supply line provided Ellen and Harry with breastfeeding
independence. It was not until I spoke to the Antenatal educator and a casual midwife did I realise why
I had uneasy feelings about what we had done to (not for) Ellen. The antenatal educator highlighted to
me that the postnatal ward is not baby friendly and not to participate in the breastfeeding practices
they promote. She encouraged me to allow extended skin to skin time and use a hands off approach. A
casual midwife further validated and labelled my bad feelings when she mentioned that she has never
seen so many mothers with breastfeeding troubles then at our hospital and if we were a baby friendly
hospital we would not be able to practice the way that we do. She also stated that in all her years as a
midwife in the Northern territory she had not seen a baby that couldn t suck. These two women
verbalised what I could not, and made me realise that we had done the wrong thing and that there is a
better way to assist women to breastfeed then constant hurried intervention. What follows is a critical

Aggression In Nursing
The incidence of aggression is all too common and most healthcare workers have experienced it at one
point or another in their career. Nurses have a 3x higher risk for encountering aggression/ violence
than any other health care worker and they have a 1 in 10 chance of being injured by a patient during
their careers. (Delaney, J., Cleary, M., Jordan, R., Horsfall, J. 2001)
The objective of both of the studies was to review current evidence for managing aggressive patients
behaviors, and the definition that was used in both studies was: aggression is defined as any verbal,
non verbal or physical behavior that was threatening to the self, others or property, or physical
behavior that actually harmed self, others or property. (Foster, C., ... Show more content on

According a study done by Delaney, Cleary; Horsfall (2001), prevention and management of
aggression is priority and should be the focus for all nursing staff. According to the evidence,
prevention requires special skills and knowledge that staff can learn to utilize to predict and prevent
aggression in patients, and there needs to be a more organized approach to data collecting and patient
assessment to really understand the extent of the problem of aggression.
Some of the important processes that are discussed in Delaney, Cleary; Horsfall s study that help to
manage aggression are: de escalation skills, risk assessments, communication skills, and when needed,
restraint skills. The study also mentions the importance of continued education and training for
nursing staff in preventing and controlling violent

Child Labor During The Progressive Era
During the progressive era the conditions of the factories that children worked in were extremely

factories. This means that there were sweaty, hot children working 16 hours a day. In the book

Atticus Finch Real Courage Quotes
Atticus Finch is a lawyer in Maycomb County. He took a stand for Tom Robinson during the trial
against Mayella Ewell. Despite him knowing that he is going to lose the case, he still has the courage
to take a stand for him. Because of his great acts, it makes sense for Atticus Finch to take stand for
Tom Robinson. The first reason it makes sense for Atticus Finch to take a stand for Tom Robinson.
The trait that I believe describes Atticus Finch the best is that he is very courageous. Atticus goes to
the jailhouse when Tom Robinson is moved there to protect him. When a group of men shows up,
Atticus stands his ground. He is afraid though. (201 207). In this quote, it shows that Atticus was
courageous by standing up for what he believed in, even though he was afraid. Atticus says, I wanted
you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand
(148). This saying from Atticus is teaching the kids what real courage is. He wants to let them know
that he is someone with real courage, that is actually doing something that can help someone else and

Understanding the Prohibition era, the prosperity it brought, and it s effects on the American society
during the 1920s enhances my interpretation of The Great Gatsby. Having knowledge about the
Prohibition era allows me to experience the novel through a lens that shows how Fitzgerald portrayed
the 1920s as a time of decayed values. The Prohibition era, dated between mid 1920 to early 1933,
was period in American history when the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquors
were banned and forbidden because of the increase in violence and illegal activities. During the
Prohibition, there was a sudden rise in capitalism through illegal sale and production of liquor, which
is known as bootlegging . The character of Jay Gatsby is an example of how Fitzgerald depicted the
decayed values of the 1920s. In the novel, Tom Buchanan accused Gatsby of having little stunts in his
drug stores , he was adamant that Gatsby sold grain alcohol over the counter arguing that its probably
where all of his wealth came from and picked him for a bootlegger (page 109).

The First Utilized Schiff Bases 3a K Towards Mild Steel
3. Results and discussion 3.1. Identification of inhibitors In the view of the aforementioned remarked
values of inhibition efficiency of this class of organic inhibitors, this paper aims to study the
concerned function of the first utilized Schiff bases 3a k towards mild steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution.
N aryl (Sb_a g), N heteryl (Sb_h j) , and the Schiff base Sb_k have been obtained condensation of N
aminophthalimide (S) with the corresponding aromatic aldehydes 2a e, heterylaldehydes 2f j and
isatine 2k, respectively. This study takes into account the beneficial role that could be played by the p
electrons of the heterocyclic aldehyde or ketone N and O atoms present in the heterocyclic aldehyde
and ketone moieties. The name of products and symbols were listed in Table 2. The melting point,
yield, time of reaction and IR spectra of products were listed in Table 3. Spectral study has been used
to characterize the structure of the novel synthesized Schiff bases (Sb_f k) which to our knowledge
have not been previously reported as shown in Table 4. The structure of the Schiff bases Sb_a e was
confirmed by identity of melting point and spectral data in the literature 25 27. The infrared spectra all

Cuban Culture Research Paper
Inside the Cuban Culture
When one thinks of Cuba, often a negative imagine comes to mind. This is no surprise, as most
accounts of Cuba that we hear are horrible atrocities of the government of Cuba. As with most things
in life, there is more than meets the eye with Cuba. At surface value, yes Cuba seems bad, but that is
just because of the way the Cuban government and countless political struggles that the country has
faced are portrayed. The Cuban people are actually a very proud people with a strong culture. if you
looked past the communist nature of the country, Cuba is a vibrant and colorful place with a lot to
learn about and a diverse culture to experience.
The Cuban culture is a mix between traditional Caribbean s with Europeans (Countries). ... Show

Families are very important to the Cuban community they are very close. They are so close that they
try to live close to each other. Since they are very family oriented and hard working people
grandparents often raise their grandchildren so the parents could work. But before someone could
have a family they first must meet their significant other. Traditional dating for Cubans is a thing in
the past its not very common for males to ask for permission to date a girl. Instead people are dating
and being sexually active because religion isn t very important in Cuba waiting for marriage isn t
really practiced. When it comes to marriage most people marry in there early 20 s. For those that aren
t religious they marry through a civil ceremony. A judge or even a priest could do these ceremonies.
People that are religion marry in a catholic church by a priest. For both wedding it s appropriate to be
dressed in a long white dress for the female. Males on the other hand could wear a nice long sleeve
dress shirt with slacks (Dating). Once a woman is married it is her job to feed her household. Common
foods eaten in Cuba are rice beans, sweet potatoes, tortilla, and cornmeal. Most foods Cubans eat are
locally grown which is very common in Cuba because of its rich soil. Due to its rich soils tropical
fruits are very easy to grow (Lifestyle: Diet). Cubans eat very healthy and they are able to stay fairly
active and they participate in many recreational activities. Cubans stay active in sports such as
baseball, volleyball, and boxing along with other activities. Staying active in Cuba is also

Advantages and Disadvantages of Stocks and Bonds
Introduction
Stocks and bonds qualify as the two major classes of assets that are used by investors in planning their
portfolios for investment. Stocks offer the investors an opportunity to have a stake in the company,
whereas the bonds are affiliated to the loans that are made to a company. Generally stocks are
considered to be very volatile and much risky to invest in as compared to the investment in bond
(Alexieff, 2014). However there exist different stock and bond types that have with them varying
volatility levels and the risks also vary.

A stock holder has the right vested upon him to sell the stocks at a much higher price as compared to
what he paid for, whenever he or she deems it necessary.
A stock holder has a voice in the company as they are in a position to contest for the post of being the
directors in the organization, depending on the share capital that has been invested by a shareholder in
the company.
A shareholder in a company has the right to get involved in the bonus shares that have been declared
by the company. Bonus stocks are the additional stocks that are assigned to the stock holders apart
from the dividends (Alexieff, 2014).
Investing in stocks enables one to increase the chances of obtaining credit facilities from financial
institutions like banks and the macro financing institutions. The share certificate is used as collateral
for the loans.
Stocks are inheritable, this means that one can assign the shares to the next of kin who is entitled to
the stake in the company once the shareholder deems necessary to exit the company.
Stocks are also advantageous as the holders are only subjected to the limited liability in cases of a loss
(Mobius, 2012). Therefore, in the event of liquidating the company, the shareholder is only liable up to
the capital limits invested in the company.
Stocks can again be used as leverage for investment.
Disadvantages of Stocks

Beneficial Properties of Edible Weeds
All too often, homeowners and gardeners wage war in their lawns and gardens against the plants that
grow incredibly well there, but that aren t intentionally planted, and many times, the justification for
these battles all comes down to the words we use to describe them.
When we buy and plant packets of common flower, vegetable, or herb seeds, we spend a lot of time,
energy, and water in our efforts to get those seeds to germinate and grow, and take pride in our green
thumb and homegrown food supply.
But when a plant that we identify as being a weed is found growing in our lawn or garden, out comes
the trowel and hoe (or for the ruthless and impatient gardeners, weedkillers such as RoundUp), and we
may spend the entire growing season keeping these opportunistic and resilient plants at bay, in order to
have neat and tidy garden beds and uniform lawns. And it s too bad, really, as many of the common
garden weeds are not only edible and nutritious, but can be a great homegrown (and free) addition to
our meals.
Part of the resistance to eating plants that we believe to be weeds, in my opinion, is that we are
conditioned to only consider the items we find in the grocery store as food, and not things that the rest
of the neighborhood sees as unwelcome invaders in lawns and gardens. And unless we ve been
exposed to eating plants that are seen as common garden weeds, and had them prepared for us, we re
probably not likely to try to eat them on our own. Once in a while, we might

Deaf Ethnic Groups
In the article should the Deaf Be Considered an Ethnic Group? By Susan Seligson the author
examines the attitudes towards the deaf community and their classification in society. The author
claims that the deaf community has major hurdles to over come to become a ethnic group including
the medical industries affection toward technology like cochlear implants which are usually implanted
into infants who may have hearing difficulties with doctors medical advice. Seligson maintains the
belief in which these implants are actually harmful to children because they can only marginally hear

Insurance and Risk Management
INSURANCE AND RISK
1.0 Definition of insurance.
Insurance is the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another in exchange for
payment. It is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent,
uncertain loss.
An insurer, or insurance carrier, is a company selling the insurance; the insured, or policyholder, is the
person or entity buying the insurance policy. The amount of money to be charged for a certain amount
of insurance coverage is called the premium.
Categories of risk include:
1. Financial risks which means that the risk must have financial measurement.
2. Pure risks which means that the risk must be real and not related to gambling
3. Particular risks which means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6.Large Number of Insured Persons : To spread the loss immediately, smoothly and cheaply, large
number of persons should be insured. The co operation of a small number of persons may also be
insurance but it will be limited to smaller area. The cost of insurance to each member may be higher.
So, it may be unmarketable. Therefore, to make the insurance cheaper, it is essential to insure large
number of persons or property because the lesser would be cost of insurance and so, the lower would
be premium. In past years, tariff associations or mutual fire insurance associations were found to share
the loss at cheaper rate. In order to function successfully, the insurance should be joined by a large
number of persons.
7. Insurance is not a gambling: The insurance serves indirectly to increase the productivity of the
community by eliminating worry and increasing initiative. The uncertainty is changed into certainty
by insuring property and life because the insurer promises to pay a definite sum at damage or death.
From a family and business point of view all lives possess an economic value which may at any time
be snuffed out by death, and it is as reasonable to ensure against the loss of this value as it is to protect
oneself against the loss of property. In the absence of insurance, the property owners could at best
practice only some form of self insurance, which may not give him absolute

Crime Statistics And Juvenile Crime
Juvenile Crime Statistics
The paper will focus and highlight some details of the statistics of juvenile crime statistics and
juvenile crime itself. Is an aim to evaluate the reduction in national juvenile arrest, narcotics offenses,
minor assaults, and the allegations regarding minor females, with the incousion of ethnic and racial
classes. Additionally, data will be shown on the increase in arrest for minor females, the contrast in
decrease for their male delinquent counterparts and voilent crimes and lastly, the method of gathering
trends for arresting data of juveniles. According to the (Juvenile Justice Bulletin, 2000). Determining
juvenile crime statistics the arrest data report the amount of arrest made by law enforcement in a
precise year nor the amount of individual arrested nor the amount of crimes committed. Data about
juvenile crime, in particular violent crime, and statistics about the size and characteristics of the
juvenile population have played an important part in the policy debates (Zimring, 1998).
Overall Decrease in Juvenile Arrest
Juvenile crime rates are a significant portion of the UCR statistics. (Uniform Crime Report). Most of
the crimes in which juveniles committed were in fact violent crimes. The main crimes that were
committed were drug abuse and simple assault. According to the FBI, juveniles accounted for 17% of
all arrests, while 15% of those arrests were considered violent crimes . (Juvenile Crime 2001, 2003)

Sarbanes-Oxley s Code Of Ethics
First, we need to grasp how Codes of ethics were created and if formulated from a standard boilerplate
Ethics program. As stated by FindLaw.com under Corporate Ethics and Sarbanes Oxley, in order to
create code of ethics, an organization must define its most important guiding values, formulate
behavioral standards to illustrate the application of those values to the roles and responsibilities of the
persons affected, review the existing procedures for guidance and direction as to how those values and
standards are typically applied, and establish the systems and processes to ensure that the code is
implemented and effective. (Navran, 2003) A company can work to promote ethical behavior;
however, the process is not easily created from boilerplate. (Navran, 2003) The process has been
broken into five sections which can be seen below from Corporate.FindLaw.com, on the same page by

fairness while organizational: excellence and sustainable development. III. Behavioral examples

Good Credit Score Essay
You work hard to maintain a good credit score by paying your bills on time and keeping payments low
enough to manage your monthly budget. Unfortunately, some things may adversely affect your credit
and you may not even realize it.
1. Paying Fines Late
Ooops! You got a parking ticket and you asked the judge for more time to pay it. He agreed to let you
have a payment arrangement, but make sure you honor the agreement. If any of those payments are
late, the court system may send your bill to a collection agency.
2. Paying Nondebt Items Late
Your credit score takes into account more than just your debt. A landlord could report a late rent
payment to a credit bureau, and so can your utility company. These types of nondebt payments don?t

Getting a Lot of Credit All at Once
On a big shopping trip, you decide to open four credit accounts at various stores so you can take
advantage of discounts on merchandise purchased with the in store credit during the winter holiday
shopping blitz. Unfortunately, those discounts at the register may cost you interest in the long run
because credit bureaus could lower your credit score. That?s because the stores make what?s called a ?
hard inquiry? into your credit.
When agencies make too many inquiries over a certain period of time, credit bureaus might dock your
credit score. Hard inquiries also happen when you pay for a rental car using a debit card, buy a new
cellphone, request a credit limit increase, open a new bank account and apply for a finance plan on a
big ticket item.
4. Canceling Cards You Paid Off
Paying off a credit card is great, just don?t cancel it. Canceling a line of credit damages your credit
score because it lowers the total amount of credit in your name. Getting rid of the account could also
lessen the time of your credit history, and that can affect whether you get a loan in the future. Keep
your oldest credit card active as it creates a longer credit history, even if you don?t plan to use the card
again once you pay it

Who Is Shrek An Anti Hero
DreamWorks Oscar winning movie from 2001, Shrek is a computer animated adventure comedy film
that cleverly and humorously corresponds with traditional fairy tales while criticizing the impossible
standards that are negotiated through them. Although children oriented, some of the jokes in the movie
were clearly adult oriented.
The green ogre is an anti hero who want nothing more than being left alone in his swamp, but his life
is turned upside down when other fairy tale characters are banished from Lord Fraquaad s realm and
find refuge on his property. In his quest to become a king, the lord decides he will marry Princess
Fiona, who is locked away in a tower and guarded by a dragon. Farquaad agrees to take back the fairy
tale characters if Shrek delivers Princess Fiona to him, and the ogre along with his new friend donkey
accept the quest. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wedding and get his true love. Getting to the wedding just in time and confessing his true love, he

beautiful in Shrek s eyes.
The witty dialogue and the innovative moral of the movie are equally responsible for the huge
popularity it enjoys, and reminding your children that bravery and honesty are more important than
appearance and will be rewarded with true love is easier than ever when you buy them a Shrek

  • 2. Essay Volcanoes Affects of Volcanoes The plates which are about 20 miles thick, make up the earth s crust and are a chief cause of volcanic activity. These plates are always in motion. They move very slowly, however some at times bump in to each other. These movements put a lot of pressure on the surface rock. Volcanoes obtain their energies from such movement and pressure. Volcanoes form at the boundaries of these plate where two types of movement occurs, two plates will collide with each other or the plates will move apart from each other. Some of these plates layers are cooled and are made up of rigid rocks. The affects on the landscape is lava that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Volcanic ash can collapse roofs and damage crops, especially if they become wet from rainfall. Debris flows called lahars that are mixtures of volcanic debris and water made from melted snow or ice or heavy rainfall. If anything comes in the path of lahar can destroy and also travel quickly through valleys. Indirect hazards are usually non volcanic effects that accompany or follow eruptions. Examples are rainfall caused debris flow, and post eruption disease and famine. Tsunamis are large seismic sea waves generated by sudden movement of the seafloor. This sudden seafloor movement can be caused by a large earthquake or by the collapse of an island volcano during or after an eruption. Tsunamis can devastate low lying coastal areas and can be deadly if people living in such areas are not evacuated. Indirect hazards also include volcanic deposits from large eruptions. These deposits can blanket farm fields and grazing lands, leading to the loss of crops and livestock and ultimately to the starvation of people dependent on them for life. During the period from the 17th century to the 19th century, tsunamis and posteruption starvation and disease caused most eruption related deaths. • 3. Essay On Apology By Plato The Apology by Plato provides a deep credible account of Socrates defending of himself against the accusation of corrupting the young before the Athenian Council. Within the text, the words of Socrates are delivered as they are remembered by Plato. It is important to note that previously Plato was both a student and a disciple of Socrates, therefore his rendition of the trial could have been considerably biased towards the man he viewed as a tremendous hero. Ultimately, Plato s account describes what he holds to be true about his hero, even though Socrates teachings are somewhat idealized by his pupil. There also may be a possibility that Socrates defense of himself may be stronger than the argument that is originally perceived and understood. The dialog consists of a number of different parts. Socrates begins with an introductory statement which deals with his manner of speaking: One of the many lies they told, one in particular surprised me, namely that you should be careful not to be deceived by an accomplished speaker like me . This book outlines that for Socrates: His defense is prompted by his recognition that these charges have not arisen in a vacuum and by his belief that his conduct has been misconstrued by his accusers . • 4. Industrial Revolution and Social Changes Introduction: Between 1760 and 1860, technological progress, education, and an increasing capital stock transformed England into the workshop of the world. The industrial revolution, as the transformation came to be called, caused a sustained rise in real income per person in England and, as its effects spread, the rest of the Western world. Historians agree that the industrial revolution was one of the most important events in history, marking the rapid transition to the modern age, but they disagree about various aspects of the event. Of all the disagreements, the oldest one is over how the industrial revolution affected ordinary people, usually called the working classes. One group, the pessimists, argues that the living standards of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Britain emerged from the Napoleonic Wars as the only European nation not ravaged by financial plunder and economic collapse, and possessing the only merchant fleet of any useful size (European merchant fleets having been destroyed during the war by the Royal navy Britain s extensive exporting cottage industries also ensured markets were already available for many early forms of manufactured goods. The conflict resulted in most British warfare being conducted overseas, reducing the devastating effects of territorial conquest that affected much of Europe. This was further aided by Britain s geographical position an island separated from the rest of mainland Europe. Another theory is that Britain was able to succeed in the Industrial Revolution due to the availability of key resources it possessed. It had a dense population for its small geographical size. Enclosure of common land and the related agricultural revolution made a supply of this labour readily available. There was also a local coincidence of natural resources in the North of England, the English Midlands, South Wales and the Scottish Lowlands. Local supplies of coal, iron, lead, copper, tin, limestone and water power, resulted in excellent conditions for the development and expansion of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The... Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives. Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on the consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions that support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and increase in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve energy access by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international price volatility and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for sustainable development, 2012). In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA, 2002) and (UNEP, 2008) identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support the production and consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants to producers, low interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax treatment: tax credits, tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates, deferred tax liabilities and accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions: tariffs, tariff rate import quotas ... • 7. Corinthian Religion The church that Paul had established in Corinth was all sorts of controversies and divisions such as division among themselves, lawsuits before unbelievers, moral disorders etc... Paul addressed the Corinthian believers but also it seems his letter is relevant to all followers of Christ up to this date. I therefore would like to choose one issue which is moral disorder sexual immorality happened in Corinth. Besides other issues, Paul also had to deal with the problem of sexual immorality (1Cor. 6:12 20). Clearly that some of the Corinthians were going to prostitutes. It seems like the Corinthians wanted to justify themselves in saying, Food for the stomach and the stomach for food (6:13) or just simply say when you are hungry, you eat. However, in regarding to this, Paul addressed that the body is the members of Christ (6:15) and the temple of the Holy Spirit (6:19); not to be used for immorality, but for the Lord (6:13). He also argued that For the two, it says, will become one flesh (6:16). This implied to the human marriage where the love of husband and wife reflect the love of Christ for his Church. No one is allowing separating them. Also, he asserted that our bodies no longer belong to us but to Christ. Then we should not do anything to harm them for if we are united to prostitutes are actually harmful to the body. ** Now a day, we all admit that our society is somewhat has sexuality disorder in terms of premarital sexual, sexual active, living together before marry. Because of it, this attracted the attention of the manufacturing industry, who tried to support practical cost effectively analysis by using the proper profitability models. • 10. Men and Women Were Created Equ Essay By: Robert E mail: an@cancom.net Men and Women were Created Equal Men are not superior to women, they are equal in every way. Although it is true that society has stereotyped women into traditional roles, this preconceived notion, is totally false. Action to promote the concept of equality in our society needs to be taken. Women have been fighting for equality for many decades. As a result of this battle, some amazing transformations have taken place amongst the female gender. Women have become educated and over the last few decades have started to take active roles and their rightful place in society. They have made major inroads in working opportunities, including government, science and even the military. They are reshaping world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2 Another example of women sharing an equal role in today s society is demonstrated in the military. Today s women joining the Canadian Armed Forces are equally eligible with men for combat roles. Over 229,000 women serve on active duty in the military services of the Department of Defense. This monumental step allows women to become takers, as well as producers of life. Women now have equal rights and responsibilities in the defense of our country. These advances have been made, not only on the ground but in the air as well. In 1988, Deanna Brasseur became Canada s first female fighter pilot. That same year, the defense department appointed their first female general, Sheila Hellstrom. The department also stated that women often do better at riflery than men due to the fact that they listen to instruction while men tend to think they know it all. A male veteran sergeant, proud of his work with female recruits, says that: Today s women won t find anything that hard to adjust to in the military. The facts are telling a tale. Many doors are opening for women and they are barreling through with boundless energy and determination. The 21st century is here and the traditional role of the stay at home mother is all but disappeared. Marriage and children are still signs of the successful women, however women are less willing to accept exclusive roles of housewife and mother. • 11. Informative Essay On Mardi Gras Mardi Gras, first introduced to New Orleans in the early 1730s, is now one of the most celebrated holidays by many natives in Louisiana. Several events are planned for the celebration, beginning in late October or November, which leads into the Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras involves a series of events and products like Mardi Gras Balls, delicious cakes that are famously known as King Cakes, and parades every day beginning in January and ending on the day that is designated Mardi Gras Day, also known as Fat Tuesday. Fat Tuesday is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, the Catholic holiday that marks the beginning of Lent. During the parades, the people riding on the floats throw beads, candy, and stuffed animals, sometimes even other things, to those who have come from all around the world to witness a true New Orleans Mardi Gras. • 12. White Privilege In Education Essay The education system is notorious for teaching its own agenda, and not necessarily all the facts of a situation. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it means to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the subject of privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without privilege. White privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes to the power and superiority white people feel over everyone else. When the Michael Brown shooting occurred, it opened up many people s eyes to the inequalities that are being perpetrated by the very education system meant to teach students how to live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to disadvantage certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et. al. 2004. 94). First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This curriculum would consist of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one side of the story. In many history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective, and that perspective is of white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts. It also includes the way the teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement impacts the students psych in a way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white student constantly for doing a job well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way, that will leave the impression that the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum works to re inforce the problems society already has. In the work force, it is a common known fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Contract manufacturers are serving a growing range of product markets from Personal Computers and servers, over Internet routers and switching gear, to communications equipment (especially mobile phones), consumer products such as computer game or television sets, industrial and automotive electronics, as well as space and aircraft electronics. The wide range of manufacturing services and products that contract manufacturers provide distinguishes them from traditional subcontractors, or board stuffers , in the electronics industries. Whereas such firms perform labor intensive assembly processes strictly controlled by the brand name owner (also called OEM), CM companies develop and manage complex production processes, often cross national in scope (Sturgeon 1997 and 1999). Breastfeeding Critical Incident Essay This essay explains, reflects and analyses a critical incident which occurred on a postnatal ward during my first clinical placement as a student midwife. The incident relates to breastfeeding practices on the ward and is classed as critical because it triggered an instinctual response in me which made me feel it was not right or helpful. My response and feelings at the time were not grounded in theoretical knowledge but rather an instinctual feeling. As a result of this instinctual feeling, the incident was explored. This exploration opened up a flood gate of information regarding what could be learned from this incident and ways to improve practice. Ellen, Harry and her husband went home that day with enough supply line equipment to last two weeks. I was confused as to how a supply line provided Ellen and Harry with breastfeeding independence. It was not until I spoke to the Antenatal educator and a casual midwife did I realise why I had uneasy feelings about what we had done to (not for) Ellen. The antenatal educator highlighted to me that the postnatal ward is not baby friendly and not to participate in the breastfeeding practices they promote. She encouraged me to allow extended skin to skin time and use a hands off approach. A casual midwife further validated and labelled my bad feelings when she mentioned that she has never seen so many mothers with breastfeeding troubles then at our hospital and if we were a baby friendly hospital we would not be able to practice the way that we do. She also stated that in all her years as a midwife in the Northern territory she had not seen a baby that couldn t suck. These two women verbalised what I could not, and made me realise that we had done the wrong thing and that there is a better way to assist women to breastfeed then constant hurried intervention. The Prohibition era, dated between mid 1920 to early 1933, was period in American history when the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquors were banned and forbidden because of the increase in violence and illegal activities. During the Prohibition, there was a sudden rise in capitalism through illegal sale and production of liquor, which is known as bootlegging . A shareholder in a company has the right to get involved in the bonus shares that have been declared by the company. Bonus stocks are the additional stocks that are assigned to the stock holders apart from the dividends (Alexieff, 2014). Investing in stocks enables one to increase the chances of obtaining credit facilities from financial institutions like banks and the macro financing institutions. The share certificate is used as collateral for the loans. Stocks are inheritable, this means that one can assign the shares to the next of kin who is entitled to the stake in the company once the shareholder deems necessary to exit the company. Stocks are also advantageous as the holders are only subjected to the limited liability in cases of a loss (Mobius, 2012). • 24. Beneficial Properties of Edible Weeds All too often, homeowners and gardeners wage war in their lawns and gardens against the plants that grow incredibly well there, but that aren t intentionally planted, and many times, the justification for these battles all comes down to the words we use to describe them. When we buy and plant packets of common flower, vegetable, or herb seeds, we spend a lot of time, energy, and water in our efforts to get those seeds to germinate and grow, and take pride in our green thumb and homegrown food supply. But when a plant that we identify as being a weed is found growing in our lawn or garden, out comes the trowel and hoe (or for the ruthless and impatient gardeners, weedkillers such as RoundUp), and we may spend the entire growing season keeping these opportunistic and resilient plants at bay, in order to have neat and tidy garden beds and uniform lawns. And it s too bad, really, as many of the common garden weeds are not only edible and nutritious, but can be a great homegrown (and free) addition to our meals. Part of the resistance to eating plants that we believe to be weeds, in my opinion, is that we are conditioned to only consider the items we find in the grocery store as food, and not things that the rest of the neighborhood sees as unwelcome invaders in lawns and gardens. And unless we ve been exposed to eating plants that are seen as common garden weeds, and had them prepared for us, we re probably not likely to try to eat them on our own.
