Unnatural Events In Macbeth Essay
Macbeth, a once courageous warrior, consequently became a tyrant dictating over the people of
Scotland. His tragic flaw, ambition, forces him to become power hungry leading to his decision to
murder King Duncan. This sends the kingdom into an immediate spiral of unnatural events and
eventually leads to an upset of political and social discombobulation. The severed link between
King Duncanand God ultimately changes the kingdom of Scotland from a prosperous country into
a kingdom ruled by fear. Macbeth, a thrilling tragedy, is more than a tragic play, but rather a story of
ramifications caused by the severed link between God and King Duncan, which is shown through
unnatural events, social upset, and political reign. Directly after the... Show more content on

This power, Macbeth gains leads to his intense paranoia, which eventually deteriorates his entire
persona. Macbeth begins to hire murders to kill anyone who questions him or is seen as a threat
to the king. This leads to many deaths such as Banquo, Macduff s family, and more. During the
murder of Banquo, his son Fleance escapes and the news that there s one down, [and] the son
fled travels to Macbeth making him even more paranoid (pg 97). Later he proceeds to hire
another set of murders to kill Macduff s entire family, in order to stop him from trying to
overthrow him. Macbeth becomes very violent and the entire kingdom of Scotland slips into
uneasiness. The people of Scotland become sacred and anxious that Scotland is not a safe
country, negatively affecting the social aspect of the kingdom. With everyone on the edge of the
next turn of events, Macbeth s reign alters the community s perspective of the Thane of Cawdor.
With the entire country of Scotland submerged in fear, Macbeth does a poor job of dealing with
politics. Once he becomes the Thane of Cawdor he does not deal with political issues in the correct
manner. With his spontaneous actions he is quick to solve issues with violence and murder rather
than logical solutions. Macbeth s lack of political reign proves to be very disheartening for
Scotland. In one instance when Malcom and Macduff are talking about the hurt Macbeth is causing

Technology In The Book 1984 By George Orwell
An average American citizen can be caught on camera more than 75 times a day. (Crime Feed)
Cameras are everywhere, from the time someone leaves their home to the time they arrive to
work, and surveillance becomes a natural way of life. Today s advance in technology has thrust
the universe nearer to the world of Big Brother, a symbol in George Orwells novel 1984, written
after World War 2 with foreshadows of the world s technological future, and imitates the novel
through the government s abilities to spy on individuals. Orwell s prediction for the year 1984 is
faultless because it directs the future toward an imprisoned world through technology as today,
although the novel was published in 1949. When Big Brother s world and today are compared,...

Accordingly, Big Brother inspects civilians utilizing a variety of technological tools, for example

their homes, they are unable to sense an object scrutinizing their privacy, before realization, their
privacy is withdrawn. Comparably, a helicopter is the basis to drones, Orwell states, In the far
distance a helicopter skimmed down between the roofs...It was the police patrol, snooping into
people s windows. (P.1) Presently, helicopters seek lives in immense districts, additionally drones
substituted helicopters assembling an efficient way to detect citizens in microscopic zones, as

Arranged marriage
Arranged marriage 1
Do you want get married with the one you love or do you want to find someone who has many
commons in a various elements with you? Do you want to have a wonderful marriage? Or how
can people avoid their marriage from divorce? Young people nowadays can have a chance and
freedom to get married by two main ways: love marriage and arranged marriage. A lot of people in
Western countries think that arranged marriage avoid people having the chance to explore their
own personalities , getting the freedom to get marriage with the one they love or expressing
themselves creatively through dating. They assume that an arranged marriage will fail when the
potential spouse is an awful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to that, the couple might end up with suffering and divorce. In case of love marriage, people
might expect more from their partner, largely because they have fallen in love before marriage.
This leads to lesser compromises, as the person expects more from his or her partner. On the other
hand, this shows that in an arranged marriage, the couple will not expect anything from the partner
instead give a full commitment to adjust themselves with their partner. Furthermore, world divorce
statistic illustrates that India records the lowest rate of divorce which is 1.1% compared to the
other countries such as United States which records 54% of divorce rate leading the most high
divorce rate (American for Divorce Reform, 2002. Retrieved from: http://divorcerate2011.com
/divorce statistics/ ) As arranged marriage is a common practice in Indian culture but it is
impractical in Western countries, the practice of arranged marriage may become one of the factors
that contribute to this significant statistic. In fact, arranged marriage somehow reduces the divorce
rate. Therefore, these prove that arranged marriage is more stable than love marriage.

How Does The United States Violate Human Rights
Amnesty International is the biggest non governmental organization engaged in the protection of
human rights. Through the years states became parties to many different international conventions
and by their ratification promised to protect fundamental rights and freedoms. However, this is not
always the case. One of the leading countries, which violate human rights, is the United States.
Although United State is signatory to many different international agreements they do not follow
their promises. The United States consistently violates Right to life incorporated in the International
Covenant on the Civil and Political rights and much more.
Generally, there are numbers of mentally retarded people in America through the year whose rights
are not protected and they are sent to death.
One of the happier stories is the story of Earl Washington. Earl is a mentally retarded man with an

Analyzing The Bonds Of Friendship Within Of Mice And Men
Analyzing the Bonds of Friendship Within Of Mice and Men Of mice and men by John
Steinbeck narrates a story of two friends, George and Lennie, and their lives together as farm
workers in California in the 1930s. Steinbeck chose the setting to empathize the effects a simple
friendship can have on someone living during that time period. In the 30s, in California, jobs were
hard to get and most jobs for unlettered men like George and Lennie, was farm work. Because
income was scarce, farm workers rarely had companions. When someone is both working and living
with little to no human interaction, they begin to feel lonely which grows into hatred for
themselves and others. Steinbeck uses the setting to distinctly show readers what friendships...

It reveals to readers one of the many ties of George and Lennie s friendship, this example being
trust. George asks for the mouse, give it here! (Steinbeck 6), and Lennie s hand slowly obeyed
(6). Giving George the mouse presents to readers the amount of faith Lennie has in George,
because even after George rudely asks for the mouse Lennie still hands George the mouse. The
faith Lennie has for George is what causes him to give up his dead mouse since he knows that
George wouldn t purposely do something to deject him but that George may be protecting him
from the unknown. The trust in their relationship allows George and Lennie to confide in each
other about what no one else knows of them and to act like their true selves around each other. In
the story readers see that most farm workers don t befriend others easily because they don t have
the trust that George and Lennie have for one another. Throughout the story, Steinbeck continues
demonstrating the trust between the two friends, showing readers how trust can strengthen an
already sturdy friendship. Referencing to the same quote, readers not only see the trust Lennie
has for George, but also the care George has for Lennie. As previously stated, George takes on the
role of protecting Lennie as a parent would a child, which also impacts the care George has for
Lennie. Any other person who knew that Lennie was keeping and constantly touching a dead

Human Infectuous Disease
Human infectious diseases are diseases caused by pathogens, disease causing microorganisms.
These diseases can range from mild to fatal and have different modes of transmission and modes of
action. It is the potential negative implications of such diseases that has made many of them among
the main targets for the World Health Organization. Since the human body does not have B cells
that produce antibodies specific to all types of antigenic pathogens, the body can t fight all types of
infectious diseases. Hence, vaccinations and forms of treatment that may employ inducing artificial
immunity are sometimes needed, immediately. Infectious human diseases can be transmitted in
many ways depending on the type of the disease, these include skin contact, breathing, water, blood
transfusion, sexual intercourse, transmittance through other organisms, most commonly a
mosquito, and many other modes of transmission. These diseases may also range n symptoms and
Signs and may even develop latently in the body. In this research paper an infectious diseasewill be
explored in depth from its cause, to symptoms to virulence, to forms of treatment and prevention.
The Disease Among the most widely known and feared human infectious diseases comes Cholera.
Cholera is an infectious disease that has had 7 recorded pandemic outbreaks over the past 2
centuries, taking away millions of lives from across the globe. It is an acute ( critical) intestinal

To avoid unintended implicature in dispreferred responses (invitation/declination) we often add
something to them. We can not respond to the invitation by saying no as this could be considered
as inappropriate and would create implicature. That is why in the case of declining an invitation
we have to add an apology, explanation or an excuse why we refused the offer. There are also
examples when we have one adjacency pair embedded within another
Dispreferred or complex responses can also be:

Same sex marriage should be legalized
The same sex marriage has been widely debated in many countries for a long time. It is
an important issue because it concerns basic moral and human rights. People all over the world
come to the United States in search of freedom and equality. Being able to marry anyone, no
matter the gender, is a freedom of right, but if that freedom of right is taken away from people
than there is no equality. Homosexual people in the United States are people that deserve
freedom and equality and taking away their right to marriage is taking away their equality with
the rest of Americans. Even though certain religions are against same sex marriage, same sex ...

Writing for the majority, Justice
Anthony Kennedy states that no union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the
highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. Kennedy goes on to say that gay
and lesbian couples ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them
that right. ( Nasci1). I think this amendment protects the rights of homosexuals. Same sex
marriage should be legal because all individuals have the same right in society; same sex couples
can constitute a good based family. It is just a way to make official a common union nowadays,
even there are religious issue; because it is not related to polygamy; and because love matters
and it does not differ in nature according to the sex of its object or the person who experiences it.
Prior to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling, same sex marriage is only legal in some states.
Some states do not agree with same sex marriage. Same sex marriage was legal in 36 states and
the District of Columbia. In 19 of those states. (Nascri). I think same sex marriage should be
legal. The state should not say anything about agreeing to an adult s way of life. If two people
love each other and want to get married, regardless of their partner s color, religion, nationality or
gender, they should be allowed to do so love and marriage should be purely a personal choice.

Mixed Market Systems In The United States
In a society that values a wide range of customs, traditions, and hierarchies, a thorough

government. This type of economy encourages equality between all citizens and many
restrictions are placed on individuals, including the inability to own a private business. In
America, however, most of the economy is controlled by the citizens, and we are able to start or
own a business if we so choose. Because of this freedom, it allowed Gates to start a business
alongside his close comrade, Paul Allen. They would not have been able to accomplish this feat if
they lived in a country which supported a command economy. Also, in a MME, free enterprise is
supported, which allows for economic control by the people and their privately owned businesses. It
allows individuals to completely regulate their businesses, such as the price of a product, which lets
businesses compete fairly. Although Mr. Gates thrived in his business, the opportunity of
competition with other technological companies contributed to his success. It allowed him to learn
and improve his product. An example of competition Microsoft had to face was Apple, the
company that developed and produced the idea of all Apple products such as the iPhone and the
iPad. Microsoft also shared a bit of competition with Google. In the early years, Apple and
Microsoft were close allies, but because of continued technological innovation and similarities
between the two platforms, both companies were drawn apart. The strive to provide a better
product for consumers allowed for learning opportunities which contributed to the success of both
companies. But the influence of free enterprise, which only exists in a mixed

Abstract
Metamaterials have been a subject of increasing interest due to their ability to manipulate the flow
of EM waves. We analyse the mechanism by which metamaterials are able to exhibit this property
which is exploited to develop the Harry Potter esque invisibility cloaks. We briefly discuss the
whole new branch of optics called Transformation Optics developed for this purpose, and comment
on the extent to which these materials can cloak.
Introduction
Metamaterials are artificially designed materials which have properties that cannot be found in
natural materials.[1] They were first theoretically proposed by Veselago in 1968 as materials
having negative permeability and permittivity. This is why these are also known as Left Handed
Materials (LHM) or Negative Refractive Index materials (NIM). The first discovery in this domain
was done by Sir Pendry et al in 1996, who discovered a wire medium with negative permittivity.
This was followed by other significant discoveries like negative permeability by Pendry in 1999
and LHM by Sir Smith in 2001.
Metamaterial structures can either be periodic (homogenous) or non periodic (inhomogenous). Their
properties depend on the construction and arrangement of their constituents. These con stituents are
usually smaller

American mythology who represent the underside of human nature (Sinnaeve, 2012). In this
literary critical context, a trickster uses sleight of hand and tongue to evade, manipulate, and
subvert the colonial world (Cox, 2005, p. 252). In the poem My Father s Song written by Simon
Ortiz, the poem speaks of the importance of creation. The creation of life, land, and plantation, the
story is about a boy who is learning to planet corn. We planted corn one spring at Acu we planted
several times but this one particular time I remember the soft damp sand in my hand (Ortiz, 1981

social and political event was the education of young Native Americans. In 1879, many Native

Macrophage Research Paper
Usage of Growth Factors Loaded Macrophage Derived Microvesicles in Wound Care
Background
Microvesicles are fragments of Cell ranging from 50 nm to 1000 nm shed from almost all cell
types. MVs are also known as micro particles, shedding vesicles and exosomes.
Microvesicles play a role in intracellular communication and transport mRNA, miRNA, and other
proteins between the cells.
Microvesicles are released by exocytosis through a mechanism dependent on cytoskeleton activation
and under the regulation of p53 protein. This release is enhanced by different environmental stimuli
like oxidative stress, injury or hypoxia.
Extracellular MVs circulating in body fluids are functional and could serve as potential biomarkers.

Klara Alternate Ending
Having explored most of Berk already, Klara forced herself to venture past the safety and travel
into the rest of the Barbaric Archipelago. It was the Gryffindor Pride Month after all, and she
figured she should embrace her inner braveness, however deeply it was hidden. Somewhat
hesitantly, she mounted Bellona. The little dragon was just big enough that Klara could ride on
top of her without falling over; she soothingly stroked her dragon s ginger fur, tightening her legs
around the dragon s frame. There was something almost comforting about flying with Bellona; she
wasn t as afraid of falling as she was with a broom. She trusted Bellona. One couldn t really trust a
broom, now could they?
Leaning back on her haunches, Bellona launched herself into the air, and Klara laughed aloud.
She held onto Bellona s slender neck, feeling the wind blowing on her face. It was a good thing
she d tied up her long red hair, as otherwise it d definitely be in her face. Klara had no particular
destination in mind, simply absorbing the feeling of being in the air. Bellona, on the other hand,
instantly seemed attracted to one of the larger islands. Klara was not one to tell a creature that
could roast her what to do, so she allowed Bellona to slowly descend onto the island. She was glad

The Impact Of Fashion On The Fashion Industry
In the 21st century, the fashion industry remains prominent as it continues to rise in an era of
global trade. Developing in the late 19th and early 20th century, the fashion industry was on the rise
with newer technologies that stimulated new manufacturing practices and further improved the
growth of a soon to be multibillion dollar global enterprise (Major). Fashion is a an art that conveys
human expression through clothing, in which many individuals are willing to spend money on and
experience whether upscale or simple. Therefore, parts of the fashion industry affect and influence
the quantity and quality of clothing as shown by the many manufacturing processes of both the
ready to wear and haute coutureindustries, the many types of commercial advertisements and media
produced by the marketing branch, and by the profit margins of different companies within the
fashion industry.
It is evident that the quantity and quality of clothing is affected and influenced by the fashion
industry as shown by the many manufacturing processes of the haute couture branch of the fashion
industry. Originating in Europe, haute couture is defined as high sewing, in which clothing is made
with expensive fabrics and is hand tailored by professional artisans skilled in dressmaking,
embroidery and many more (Major). In the mid 19th and the early 20th century, the haute couture
branch of fashion was at its peak with the invention of fashion houses, companies that specialize in

The Affects of Temperature on Amount of Oxygen, Mung Beans...
Title:
Amount of Oxygen, Mung Beans (Vigna Radiata) Consume during Cellular Respiration
Introduction:
Cellular respiration is a catabolic reaction that refers to the process of converting chemical energy
of organic molecules into a simplify form so it can be used immediately by organism. Glucose may
be oxidized completely if sufficient oxygen is available, by the following equation:
C6H12O6 + 36 ADP + 36Pi + 6O2(g) 6 H2O + 6 CO2(g) + 38 ATP + heat
All organisms, including plants and animals, oxidize glucose for energy. Often, this energy is used
to convert ADP and phosphate into ATP. The process of complete oxidation involves glycolysis,
Krebs cycle and electron transport chain. Besides ATP, pyruvate molecules, NADH and FADH2

For accuracy purposes, the measure in the control tube, that had deviated from zero, was added and
deducted, from the data of the Mung bean seeds. The syringe was then adjusted so that KOH was
seated at zero, at all times (Daynk, 2012).
When the final readings were recorded, the stoppers were removed. The Mung beans seeds were
carefully removed as well and weighed on the scale. All data from the 5 minute interval at 40

Mary Barton Essay
Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell serves as a portrait detailing industrial life during the Victorian
period. The Victorian period was the highest point for industrialization in England. With the
increase of industry and growth of urban areas there was social and political unrest within these
areas primarily, in working class people who had suffered through great mistreatment and unfair
distribution of power. Mary Barton is a story that embodies the political philosophy of its author,
Elizabeth Gaskell: The effect of urbanization and industrialization within urban and rural areas, the

Gaskell also uses not only her own political ideas to formulate her characters and setting, but, she
also uses different opposing political ideologies, such as communism, to create greater character
dynamics and more complex characterizations such as John Barton and Mr. Carson. John Barton,
the father of Mary Barton, is truly the main character in the novel. The primary function of John
Barton s character is to serve as Gaskell s advocate for better communication between the social
classes. He served as the manifestation of class conflict. Also, he embodies the political philosophy
of Gaskell with religious ideology and the communistic ideology of Karl Marx. This duality of
political ideologies can be seen in John Barton in him being a chairman at many a Trades Union
meeting, a friend of delegates, and ambitious of being a delegate himself; a Chartist (25).
The Chartist movement and those involved advocated for the right to vote to be extended to
working class men. So, that working class people could have a voice in parliament. They also
advocated for the elimination of the secret ballot to eliminate voter intimidation. And the narrator
states that John Barton became a Chartist, a Communist, all that is commonly called wild and
visionary (169). This meant that he wanted more representation for the workers in working
environments such as in the factories. Another thing that he wanted

What Is The Similarities Between Animals And Animals In...
People may think that humans and animals have many differences, but when comparing and
contrasting, a person s existence can relate to an animal s existence in many ways. Life of Pi is
about a religious man and his physical and spiritual journey. Also, he knew a lot about animals and
definitely cared for them. He tended to visit his father s zoo which extended his knowledge about
animals. However, Pi ends up stuck out in the middle of the ocean with animals. He is then
essentially put to the test on his knowledge and how a person will become when constantly with
savage animals. Yann Martelstructures Life of Piin such a way to show the beginning intelligence
of how one may act when under pressure, all the way to the desperate low of one when under
pressure.
In the beginning of Life of Pi, Pi had a very strong love for animals. As he was vegetarian, and he
knew lots of interesting facts about different types of animal, In zoos, as in nature, the best times to
visit are sunrise and sunset. That is when most animals come to life. They stir and leave their
shelter and tiptoe to the water s edge. They show their raiments. They sing their songs. They turn
to each other and perform their rites. The reward for the watching eye and the listening ear is
great. I spent more hours than I can count a quiet witness to the highly mannered, manifold
expressions of life that grace our planet. It is something so bright, loud, weird and delicate as to

Similarities Between Equality And Inequality
The social issue of equality and inequality, has dated back to the beginning of time. Although there
is no way to find out, would one really think that cavemen would not fight about who got the most
food? Even children would argue if someone else has more crayons, or more toys. Everyone has
demanded equalityat least once in their lifetime. Unfortunately inequalityoccurs more often than
equality, and this will never change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur
most often in today s society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely
see global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be discussing the
similarities and differences of equality and inequality through race, sex, and religion.
When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social setting, they
might think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and the main one is humans.
Humans either have equality, or they do not have it, and want it. Usually people have more
courage in a group, rather than alone. This is also a similarity with equality and inequality. It is
often groups that rightfully raise the issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of
society (Gosepath). The rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality,
which connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is race. Both
sides deal with all kinds of people

What Is The Value Of Life In This Beautiful Life
Remember that time when you were just too lazy to make dinner so you just went through the
drive through of a fast food place? Or when the push ups in your workout got too hard so you
arch your back and start doing some wimpy pulses to make them easier? Or even back in
highschool when you chose to take the easy classes such as Yoga or Underwater Basket Weaving
instead of the AP/College classes such as Calculus 2 or HumanAnatomy? Yeah, me too. Humans
these days rely heavily on taking the easy way out of things. Almost everyday in our lives we have
the option to face a challenge and/or do things the longer way and it is almost an instinct to find the
easier incentive. As technology advances and more inventions keep coming about, life gets easier

In our Milky Way galaxy, there are over a hundred billion stars, and within the universe there are

techniques to make their jobs easier. One important technique in, not only astronomy but science

stars in a single galaxy, astronomers must find methods for organization. Stars are not all the same,
they vary in size, temperature, and brightness. To keep track of all these different characteristics,
astronomers had to come up with a diagram. The Hertzsprung Russell diagram is one of the most

Diversity In American Language
America is well known as the land of opportunity, an advocate for multiculturalism, a salad bowl.
People from hundreds of different origins reside in the United States, practicing diverse religions,
sharing culinary traditions, and most importantly, speaking a myriad of languages. On the surface,
America s cultural integration is a model framework; plenty of the country s inhabitants happily
accept its diversity, especially when compared to other regions around the world. However,
historically, such diversity has also been met with resistance, particularly regarding language. The
concept of English purification first appeared in the language s Early Modern period, long before
America even established itself as an independent nation. The effort... Show more content on

Namely, the internet provides millions of people access to nearly every inch of the world, thus
exposing gamers, bloggers, and mere web browers to foreign sources. As a result, English, whether
intentionally or not, borrows words from these sources to the point that dictionaries struggle to keep
up. For example, an American online poker player explained how his opponent, a Romanian, used
the term fish a bad poker player who gets lucky . Donkey already held the same meaning in English,
but this American player began to use fish with other American players, therefore spreading its use
(Millward 325 326). Furthermore, heavy immigration prevents English purification efforts as well.
In the 19th century, German immigration to the United States increased, contributing educational
loanwords such as semester and kindergarten, food and beverage terms like pretzel and lager, and
accordion and yodel for music. An influx of Yiddish speaking Jews also introduced familiar words
like bagel, pastrami, and matzo (Millward 326 327). Immigrants continue to flock to the United
States from all over the world, bringing their vocabulary with them and consequently squelching
purification attempts. Finally, the constant exchanges of products, information, and research have
contributed to certain cultures gaining recognition for their successes, leading English to adopt
words that reflect such achievements. For example, France is famous for its so called superiority in
fashion and food, so we see loanwords such as chef, gourmet, and restaurant, as well as blouse,
lingerie, and suede in English (Millward 325). Therefore, modern global communication prevents
English purification and renders any attempt ineffective, for loanwords continue to enter the
language at significant

Private Ryan Ethical Dilemma
Ethical Dilemma Paper
In the movie, Saving Private Ryan , by Steven Spielberg, there are a lot of moments in the video
that would raise an ethical dilemma issue. The one that stands out the most is when a squad of
Army Rangers that was involved in the Omaha Beach invasion, is ordered to cross through Nazi
occupied France to search and bring home the last surviving brother of the Ryan family, Private
First Class Ryan.
It raises an ethical dilemma because many would ask, why risk the lives of many for one? Does
risking the lives of a squad of United States (US) Army Rangers justify the means to save just one
US Private? What if you add that this one US Private is the last surviving member out of four

Do I send in more men into danger to risk their lives to save one? Before I commit to a decision,
I would have to evaluate the situation, identify the ethical and moral conflicts involved in this
decision. Giving the order to send out the Rangers would not be in violation of any rules or
regulations, in fact, would back up the Army standards of leaving no person behind. Private Ryan
went in behind enemy lines as a paratrooper. As his platoon went into heavy fire, they lost
communication. The Army has a standard of sending in reinforcements to help fellow soldiers.
Now, seeing that family is important to the Army, and Private Ryan is the last in the family s
lineage, you can rule out moral conflict in the decision. You know that by saving this Soldier, would
alleviate the burden on the family. I would say that the family has contributed to the Army values,
selfless service, honor, and duty. They risked their lives in the goal of completing the mission.
I would give the order to send in a squad of Rangers to search and retrieve Private Ryan, based on
family virtues. Rangers are trained to go behind enemy lines undetected. They are highly skilled
soldiers, able to take on unconventional

Essay about The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Dollar has undergone a significant depreciation over the past 10 years. The drop in
relative value of our currency has caused a great deal of consternation not only among economists
but also in the media and consequently the general public has well. Ordinary citizens experience
first hand the effects of such depreciation every time they go to our most frequented vacation spot,

exchange rate trend has even permeated our most beloved conversation topic, professional hockey.
Despite the popularity of the subject, consensus and clarity are rarities. What has happened to the

The value of our currency is most reflected in the price of the US dollar. This paper will therefore
use the price of a US dollar in terms of Canadian dollars as the value of the Canadian dollar.
In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based
on foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a
particular level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the
perceived excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that
the price remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the
fixed price or move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant
in post world war II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada
like many other nations, moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume
that because the currency is not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play
a role in determining its price. The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the
price at a certain level, but rather to prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. This type
of exchange rate regime is known as a dirty float.
Over this past decade, the value of a Canadian dollar has dropped nearly 25%. In 1990, a US dollar

Reaction (rate) between magnesium ribbon and hydrochloric...
Aim
It is to tell how the reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid will be effected if we
change the concentration of hydrochloric acid.
Introduction
In the experiment the magnesium reacts with the hydrochloric acid to create magnesium chloride
and hydrogen. The balanced formula for this is:
Mg(s) + 2HCL(aq) MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)
Magnesium + hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen
Magnesium will react with hydrochloric acid, because it is higher in the reactivity series than
hydrogen. The magnesium displaces the hydrogen in the acid, so it forms magnesium chloride and
hydrogen gas.
There are many variables that I can change, which are the temperature and concentration of the
hydrochloric acid, and the mass and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of hydrogen I will end up with when the reaction has completely finished will be the
same for all the concentrations, but if a reaction is too slow and exceeds the set time I will stop
taking results and it might not finish reacting.
Preliminary experiment
I was suggested to use 20cm3 of hydrochloric acid and 5cm of cleaned magnesium ribbon, and
take the volume of hydrogen in the syringe every 10 seconds for the preliminary experiment to. I
tried this but the reaction happened very quickly and the results of the volume of hydrogen were
very spread out. The results for each 10 second interval were not accurate enough and there was
not enough magnesium to get a high level of hydrogen. To solve this I increased the amount of
magnesium strip to 8cm, and decreased the time interval to 5 seconds each. I tried this and the
results were much more reliable to use and analyze.
Fair Test
To keep a fair test I will have to look into all the variables surrounding the experiment and only
change the variable that I am testing on. The other variables are the temperature of the acid at the
beginning, the volume of acid, the surface area of the magnesium strip, the length of the
magnesium strip and if the magnesium strip is cleaned or not.
The magnesium strips were cleaned and cut correctly by the lab technician and I measured and
inspected the strip each time I started the experiment to make sure it was ok for the experiment.
Most of these variables

The phrase racial tension is a small description of the main theme in Dutchman by Amiri Baraka.
While race is a vital part of the underlying messages in the play, it stems to a much broader term. In
Dutchman Amiri Baraka attempts to grasp the attention of the African Americansociety. Baraka
uses Clay s character to show readers that complete assimilation into another culture is wrong. He
wants to awaken the African American men and women in a predominately Caucasian American
culture to subconsciously kill the person that is portrayed by Clay in the play. Not only does
Baraka want readers and audience members to kill their inner Clay, but refuse to conform to ...

Clay, you liver lipped white man. You would be Christian. You ain t no nigger, you re just a dirty
white man. Get up. Clay. Dance, with me, Clay. Clay: Lula! Sit down, now. Be cool. Even
through Lula insulted him and spoke badly about his mother clay still responded in an
apprehensive way. Lula s aggressiveness in her speech angers Clay to the point where he curses at
her, that is after she calls him an Uncle Tom Wooly Head. (Martin 62)(Kumar 276)
At the end of scene one Lula says You re a murderer, Clay, and you know it. (Baraka 2751)This
quote could be thought of as a subliminal way of saying that Clay killed the black man inside of
him. All throughout the first scene Lula has the more aggressive and dominant role, but in scene
two Clay takes on the more authoritative role, while Lula ends up being the actual murderer at
the end of the play. Lula s plot to kill Clay is in some way foreshadowed when the other
passengers board the train and she says we ll pretend that people cannot see you . (Baraka 2751)
Clay tries to defend himself all throughout the play but doesn t succeed because he can t defend
something that he is not. While Lula is insulting the stereotypes and behavior of black men, Clay
cannot fully defend them because he himself isn t truly black . (Klinkowitz 123 124)
Baraka used a sense of satire because instead of directly inputting his opinion about Clay he played
off of Lula s character,

Jensen Farm Cantaloupes Case Study
Jensen Farm Cantaloupes In August October 2011 there was an outbreak of the Bacteria
Listeriosis coming from a Colorado farm called Jensen Farm. Jensen farm held a press conference
on September fourteenth and voluntarily recalled their cantaloupe. The cost associated with just
one food borne illness shocked me. The symptoms of this outbreak were the same for many of the
victims which included: fever, muscle aches, and diarrhea. The causalities were extremely high in
this outbreak. There were 146 total infections, 30 deaths, and even a miscarriage roaming over 28
states in total. Most People who became ill were over sixty and fifty eight percent were female

The cost in this specific case was great and even forced the farm owners to file for bankruptcy
before it was over. The outbreak led to three documented press conferences. Aboutmoney.com
estimates a press conference costing seven hundred and fifty dollars an hour. Some of the PR
firms require a retainer for large or ongoing cases (Public Relations: Time, Money and Words,
N.D). There were two other companies that used their fruit and they recalled as well. Jensen
farms had to replace the bad fruit on top of refund to original cost so that came to 10,778 pounds
of cantaloupe that had to be paid for. In 2011 the price per pound of cantaloupe was fifty six
cents (Cantaloupe, N.D). To replace all the fruit would add up to $6,041.28. They also recalled
their fruit from stores but I could not find how many pounds that was, but that would be an
additional cost. Out of the 146 total infections 143 of the patients reported being put in the
hospital. On average per day in the US a patient in the hospital paid $1,960 in 2011 (Hospital
Adjusted Expenses per Inpatient Day, N.D). There was no information on how long they were in
the hospital but one would assume it would be a couple days. If you do two days per patient the

  • 2. Unnatural Events In Macbeth Essay Macbeth, a once courageous warrior, consequently became a tyrant dictating over the people of Scotland. His tragic flaw, ambition, forces him to become power hungry leading to his decision to murder King Duncan. This sends the kingdom into an immediate spiral of unnatural events and eventually leads to an upset of political and social discombobulation. The severed link between King Duncanand God ultimately changes the kingdom of Scotland from a prosperous country into a kingdom ruled by fear. Macbeth, a thrilling tragedy, is more than a tragic play, but rather a story of ramifications caused by the severed link between God and King Duncan, which is shown through unnatural events, social upset, and political reign. Directly after the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This power, Macbeth gains leads to his intense paranoia, which eventually deteriorates his entire persona. Macbeth begins to hire murders to kill anyone who questions him or is seen as a threat to the king. This leads to many deaths such as Banquo, Macduff s family, and more. During the murder of Banquo, his son Fleance escapes and the news that there s one down, [and] the son fled travels to Macbeth making him even more paranoid (pg 97). Later he proceeds to hire another set of murders to kill Macduff s entire family, in order to stop him from trying to overthrow him. Macbeth becomes very violent and the entire kingdom of Scotland slips into uneasiness. The people of Scotland become sacred and anxious that Scotland is not a safe country, negatively affecting the social aspect of the kingdom. With everyone on the edge of the next turn of events, Macbeth s reign alters the community s perspective of the Thane of Cawdor. With the entire country of Scotland submerged in fear, Macbeth does a poor job of dealing with politics. Once he becomes the Thane of Cawdor he does not deal with political issues in the correct manner. With his spontaneous actions he is quick to solve issues with violence and murder rather than logical solutions. Macbeth s lack of political reign proves to be very disheartening for Scotland. In one instance when Malcom and Macduff are talking about the hurt Macbeth is causing Scotland, Malcom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Technology In The Book 1984 By George Orwell An average American citizen can be caught on camera more than 75 times a day. (Crime Feed) Cameras are everywhere, from the time someone leaves their home to the time they arrive to work, and surveillance becomes a natural way of life. Today s advance in technology has thrust the universe nearer to the world of Big Brother, a symbol in George Orwells novel 1984, written after World War 2 with foreshadows of the world s technological future, and imitates the novel through the government s abilities to spy on individuals. Orwell s prediction for the year 1984 is faultless because it directs the future toward an imprisoned world through technology as today, although the novel was published in 1949. When Big Brother s world and today are compared,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accordingly, Big Brother inspects civilians utilizing a variety of technological tools, for example telescreens, helicopters, or microphones; the government exercises similar appliances upon citizens constructing an alike atmosphere today. In this age, drones overshadow the nation while helicopters overpowered life in 1984, it seems Orwell foretold 2017 not 1984. In case of love marriage, people might expect more from their partner, largely because they have fallen in love before marriage. This leads to lesser compromises, as the person expects more from his or her partner. On the other hand, this shows that in an arranged marriage, the couple will not expect anything from the partner instead give a full commitment to adjust themselves with their partner. Furthermore, world divorce statistic illustrates that India records the lowest rate of divorce which is 1.1% compared to the other countries such as United States which records 54% of divorce rate leading the most high divorce rate (American for Divorce Reform, 2002. Analyzing The Bonds Of Friendship Within Of Mice And Men Analyzing the Bonds of Friendship Within Of Mice and Men Of mice and men by John Steinbeck narrates a story of two friends, George and Lennie, and their lives together as farm workers in California in the 1930s. Steinbeck chose the setting to empathize the effects a simple friendship can have on someone living during that time period. In the 30s, in California, jobs were hard to get and most jobs for unlettered men like George and Lennie, was farm work. Because income was scarce, farm workers rarely had companions. When someone is both working and living with little to no human interaction, they begin to feel lonely which grows into hatred for themselves and others. It reveals to readers one of the many ties of George and Lennie s friendship, this example being trust. George asks for the mouse, give it here! (Steinbeck 6), and Lennie s hand slowly obeyed (6). Giving George the mouse presents to readers the amount of faith Lennie has in George, because even after George rudely asks for the mouse Lennie still hands George the mouse. The faith Lennie has for George is what causes him to give up his dead mouse since he knows that George wouldn t purposely do something to deject him but that George may be protecting him from the unknown. The trust in their relationship allows George and Lennie to confide in each other about what no one else knows of them and to act like their true selves around each other. In the story readers see that most farm workers don t befriend others easily because they don t have the trust that George and Lennie have for one another. Throughout the story, Steinbeck continues demonstrating the trust between the two friends, showing readers how trust can strengthen an already sturdy friendship. Referencing to the same quote, readers not only see the trust Lennie has for George, but also the care George has for Lennie. As previously stated, George takes on the role of protecting Lennie as a parent would a child, which also impacts the care George has for Lennie. We analyse the mechanism by which metamaterials are able to exhibit this property which is exploited to develop the Harry Potter esque invisibility cloaks. We briefly discuss the whole new branch of optics called Transformation Optics developed for this purpose, and comment on the extent to which these materials can cloak. Introduction Metamaterials are artificially designed materials which have properties that cannot be found in natural materials.[1] They were first theoretically proposed by Veselago in 1968 as materials having negative permeability and permittivity. This is why these are also known as Left Handed Materials (LHM) or Negative Refractive Index materials (NIM). The first discovery in this domain was done by Sir Pendry et al in 1996, who discovered a wire medium with negative permittivity. This was followed by other significant discoveries like negative permeability by Pendry in 1999 and LHM by Sir Smith in 2001. Metamaterial structures can either be periodic (homogenous) or non periodic (inhomogenous). Their properties depend on the construction and arrangement of their constituents. It was the Gryffindor Pride Month after all, and she figured she should embrace her inner braveness, however deeply it was hidden. Somewhat hesitantly, she mounted Bellona. The little dragon was just big enough that Klara could ride on top of her without falling over; she soothingly stroked her dragon s ginger fur, tightening her legs around the dragon s frame. There was something almost comforting about flying with Bellona; she wasn t as afraid of falling as she was with a broom. She trusted Bellona. One couldn t really trust a broom, now could they? Leaning back on her haunches, Bellona launched herself into the air, and Klara laughed aloud. She held onto Bellona s slender neck, feeling the wind blowing on her face. It was a good thing she d tied up her long red hair, as otherwise it d definitely be in her face. Klara had no particular destination in mind, simply absorbing the feeling of being in the air. Developing in the late 19th and early 20th century, the fashion industry was on the rise with newer technologies that stimulated new manufacturing practices and further improved the growth of a soon to be multibillion dollar global enterprise (Major). Fashion is a an art that conveys human expression through clothing, in which many individuals are willing to spend money on and experience whether upscale or simple. Therefore, parts of the fashion industry affect and influence the quantity and quality of clothing as shown by the many manufacturing processes of both the ready to wear and haute coutureindustries, the many types of commercial advertisements and media produced by the marketing branch, and by the profit margins of different companies within the fashion industry. It is evident that the quantity and quality of clothing is affected and influenced by the fashion industry as shown by the many manufacturing processes of the haute couture branch of the fashion industry. Originating in Europe, haute couture is defined as high sewing, in which clothing is made with expensive fabrics and is hand tailored by professional artisans skilled in dressmaking, embroidery and many more (Major). Title: Amount of Oxygen, Mung Beans (Vigna Radiata) Consume during Cellular Respiration Introduction: Cellular respiration is a catabolic reaction that refers to the process of converting chemical energy of organic molecules into a simplify form so it can be used immediately by organism. Glucose may be oxidized completely if sufficient oxygen is available, by the following equation: C6H12O6 + 36 ADP + 36Pi + 6O2(g) 6 H2O + 6 CO2(g) + 38 ATP + heat All organisms, including plants and animals, oxidize glucose for energy. The Victorian period was the highest point for industrialization in England. With the increase of industry and growth of urban areas there was social and political unrest within these areas primarily, in working class people who had suffered through great mistreatment and unfair distribution of power. Gaskell also uses not only her own political ideas to formulate her characters and setting, but, she also uses different opposing political ideologies, such as communism, to create greater character dynamics and more complex characterizations such as John Barton and Mr. Carson. John Barton, the father of Mary Barton, is truly the main character in the novel. The primary function of John Barton s character is to serve as Gaskell s advocate for better communication between the social classes. He served as the manifestation of class conflict. Also, he embodies the political philosophy of Gaskell with religious ideology and the communistic ideology of Karl Marx. This duality of political ideologies can be seen in John Barton in him being a chairman at many a Trades Union meeting, a friend of delegates, and ambitious of being a delegate himself; a Chartist (25). The Chartist movement and those involved advocated for the right to vote to be extended to working class men. So, that working class people could have a voice in parliament. They also advocated for the elimination of the secret ballot to eliminate voter intimidation. And the narrator states that John Barton became a Chartist, a Communist, all that is commonly called wild and visionary (169). People may think that humans and animals have many differences, but when comparing and contrasting, a person s existence can relate to an animal s existence in many ways. He tended to visit his father s zoo which extended his knowledge about animals. However, Pi ends up stuck out in the middle of the ocean with animals. He is then essentially put to the test on his knowledge and how a person will become when constantly with savage animals. Yann Martelstructures Life of Piin such a way to show the beginning intelligence of how one may act when under pressure, all the way to the desperate low of one when under pressure. Everyone has demanded equalityat least once in their lifetime. Unfortunately inequalityoccurs more often than equality, and this will never change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur most often in today s society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely see global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be discussing the similarities and differences of equality and inequality through race, sex, and religion. When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social setting, they might think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and the main one is humans. Humans either have equality, or they do not have it, and want it. Usually people have more courage in a group, rather than alone. This is also a similarity with equality and inequality. It is often groups that rightfully raise the issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of society (Gosepath). The rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality, which connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is race. Since there are so many stars in a single galaxy, astronomers must find methods for organization. Stars are not all the same, they vary in size, temperature, and brightness. People from hundreds of different origins reside in the United States, practicing diverse religions, sharing culinary traditions, and most importantly, speaking a myriad of languages. On the surface, America s cultural integration is a model framework; plenty of the country s inhabitants happily accept its diversity, especially when compared to other regions around the world. However, historically, such diversity has also been met with resistance, particularly regarding language. The concept of English purification first appeared in the language s Early Modern period, long before America even established itself as an independent nation. The effort... Namely, the internet provides millions of people access to nearly every inch of the world, thus exposing gamers, bloggers, and mere web browers to foreign sources. As a result, English, whether intentionally or not, borrows words from these sources to the point that dictionaries struggle to keep up. For example, an American online poker player explained how his opponent, a Romanian, used the term fish a bad poker player who gets lucky . Donkey already held the same meaning in English, but this American player began to use fish with other American players, therefore spreading its use (Millward 325 326). Furthermore, heavy immigration prevents English purification efforts as well. In the 19th century, German immigration to the United States increased, contributing educational loanwords such as semester and kindergarten, food and beverage terms like pretzel and lager, and accordion and yodel for music. An influx of Yiddish speaking Jews also introduced familiar words like bagel, pastrami, and matzo (Millward 326 327). Immigrants continue to flock to the United States from all over the world, bringing their vocabulary with them and consequently squelching purification attempts. Finally, the constant exchanges of products, information, and research have contributed to certain cultures gaining recognition for their successes, leading English to adopt words that reflect such achievements. For example, France is famous for its so called superiority in fashion and food, so we see loanwords such as chef, gourmet, and restaurant, as well as blouse, lingerie, and suede in English (Millward 325). Therefore, modern global communication prevents English purification and renders any attempt ineffective, for loanwords continue to enter the language at significant ... The value of our currency is most reflected in the price of the US dollar. This paper will therefore use the price of a US dollar in terms of Canadian dollars as the value of the Canadian dollar. In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based on foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a particular level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the perceived excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that the price remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the fixed price or move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant in post world war II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada like many other nations, moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume that because the currency is not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play a role in determining its price. The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the price at a certain level, but rather to prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. This type of exchange rate regime is known as a dirty float. Over this past decade, the value of a Canadian dollar has dropped nearly 25%. In 1990, a US dollar could be ... The balanced formula for this is: Mg(s) + 2HCL(aq) MgCl2(aq) + H2(g) Magnesium + hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen Magnesium will react with hydrochloric acid, because it is higher in the reactivity series than hydrogen. The amount of hydrogen I will end up with when the reaction has completely finished will be the same for all the concentrations, but if a reaction is too slow and exceeds the set time I will stop taking results and it might not finish reacting. Preliminary experiment I was suggested to use 20cm3 of hydrochloric acid and 5cm of cleaned magnesium ribbon, and take the volume of hydrogen in the syringe every 10 seconds for the preliminary experiment to. I tried this but the reaction happened very quickly and the results of the volume of hydrogen were very spread out. The results for each 10 second interval were not accurate enough and there was not enough magnesium to get a high level of hydrogen. To solve this I increased the amount of magnesium strip to 8cm, and decreased the time interval to 5 seconds each. I tried this and the results were much more reliable to use and analyze. Fair Test To keep a fair test I will have to look into all the variables surrounding the experiment and only change the variable that I am testing on.
