Rhetorical Analysis Of Brother Dean
Jackeline Aguilar
Rhetorical Analysis on Brother Dean
Brother Dean is a campus preacher that is talking about controversial topics like rape, feminism,
and gay people. He uses the bible to back up the statements that he makes. Brother Dean walks
around the campus of the University of Arizona wearing shirts with the statements you whore and
signs that say you deserve rape . He is walking around and essentially slut shaming women
because he states that they get raped because they wear revealing clothes. The day that he was
being filmed by Vice was the release of Brave Miss World, a movie about a women named Linor
Abargil who was abducted, stabbed and raped weeks before she won a pageant . He was protesting
the release of the film ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He does not talk in long speeches about his beliefs because a lot of the students on campus do not
have the time to stop and listen to him. Instead he talks really fast and attempts to persuade people
to believe in his statements as they pass by. His preachings are mostly based on christianity and the
bible. He never uses anything else to back his believes besides the bible. Brother Dean is using the
bible as a weapon to persuade others to join him, proving that he is cultured.
The reason Brother Dean is going on campus and preaching is so that he can get people to
convert. As Nissi Powell, a student on campus said, he is only trying to get people s attention
with his remarks. He is doing it in a wrong way because a lot of people do not respond well when
they are being attacked with words. He could have tried a more effective way to get people to
listen to him if he talked about the religion itself. He could have mentioned what a day in mass
was like or passages from the bible that were positive. Due to his strident approach, he has caused
chaos and violence towards him. People have started to rip his shirt, throw away his signs, and has
had a smoothie thrown at him. His hobby has had a lot a controversy but some women do agree
with him like his friend Sarah. She claims that women put themselves in situations without needing
to be there. She also states that she agrees with everything brother Dean

Essay On Black History Month
There are countless examples of how African Americans have transformed history or made a mark
on our country. African Americans have displayed heroism and bravery for what we believe in.
Without Black History Month as a holiday, these people would not have been recognized for all of
their many achievements. We must continue to celebrate the achievements of African Americans,
and we must correct the inconsistences of the past. Black History Month should be kept as a
national holiday as long as we are the United States of America. Black History Month was not
intended to last an entire month. In fact, it was not even meant to last until the twenty first century.
Carter G. Woodson was the founder of Black History month, but at the time, it... Show more content

For over one hundred years, textbooks have been leaving out critical information about our
history, and then feeding it to our children. Currently, when a child is taught history, the
information typically consists of many white people fighting white people and one side losing.
Although the textbooks represent the whites more than the blacks, it was not always the whites
who led our side to victory. Many blacks people have been responsible for contributing to the
United States great name of the most powerful nation in the world. One example of black
individuals who have been left out and led our country to battle was The War of 1812. A group
called the Battalion of Free Men of Color played a significant role in this historic battle. The
group consisted of black slaves who wished to defend their country in combat. According to Sam
Houston State University (SHSU), the battle ended up being the worst defeat suffered by British
arms in years . This may be true, however, the blacks were not and still are not credited for being
such an asset to our country. Ironically, the black role was soon overlooked, as black veterans were
not permitted to march in the annual parades celebrating the victory (SHSU). Another example of
African Americans who were not recognized for their support to an historical event was the
American Revolution. At the 1876 Centennial Celebration of the Revolution in Philadelphia, not a
single speaker acknowledged the contributions of African

Qualitative Data Collection Methods Paper
Qualitative data collection method is the method I would use to answer my research question:
How does text messaging effect teen literacy? I would choose this method over quantitative
because qualitative methods are lead with first hand observations for a wide range of behaviors.
The hypothesis is broad and looks to describe the entire picture. It helps us to understand the world
we live in and explains why things are the way they are. This type of researchis primary gathering
information for the early stages of a question. One of the major reasons for doing qualitative
researchis to become more experienced with the phenomenon you are interested in.
Qualitative data collections are particularly helpful when the event is not of importance, but rather
how the event may influence a sequence of other actions. Describing the complicated phenomena
is not the goal of a qualitative research, but rather to distinguish ideas as to why and how a specific
phenomenon operates as it does in a precise situation.
Qualitative research involves capturing the complexity of behavior that occurs in natural settings
while the opposite goal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the purpose of this paper, field research will be used in an association with participation
observation. The purpose of this method is for the researcher to go into the field to observe the
phenomenon.
Although qualitative field research collection has two methods, interviews, and focus groups, for
my study, I will us the use direct interaction with individuals on a one to one basis. Even though
collecting qualitative data is more time consuming than quantitative due to the use of smaller
groups, the benefits are that the information collected gives a more profound insight into the
phenomenon under study. I would not only conduct individual interviews but perform some
observation as

Street Daylight Kevin Peterson Analysis
Kevin Peterson is a Houston based figurative painter. He has done many works of graffiti art such
as Into the Light, Rooster Brand, Cold, Angel, and Street Light. The urban environment plays a
huge roll in his provoking visual subject matter. He prefers to set children against a backdrop of
harsh streets and graffiti covered surroundings. The painter claims his inspiration leaps from this
juxtaposition, the purity and innocence that the youth present contrasted with the weathered and
decayed areas of the metropolis. In Peterson s moving works, there is a contrast that suffices as
both a metaphor and a recurring composition. At one point the walls and backdrops in my paintings
were shiny and new, untouched, just like we were as kids, he says.... Show more content on

The figures are Caucasians dressed in shades of grey and are almost lacking in color. The wall is
covered in vibrant, angular graffiti known as wildstyle. With bright tones of orange, red, blue, and
yellow throughout, the stylized scrawl is unreadable. It motions the eye throughout the background
of the art piece. Wildstyle is known for its intricate letterforms as well as directional arrows, stars
and other shapes (Manley). The graffiti is hard to read. Peterson purposely chopped off the
beginning and end of the name or word on the piece so it cannot be read at all. This cropping
technique strengthens the variation between rendered figures and their setting therefore contrasting
illegible to legible, part to whole. This increases the tension in the

Loyalty In The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton
The silence grew heavier, and I could hear the harsh heavy breathing of the boys around me. Still
Darry and the Soc walked slowly in a circle (Hinton, 143). The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a
realistic fiction novel taking place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. The story informs the reader of a
rivalry between two gangs, the Socials (Socs) who are the rich people that have nice cars, clothes,
and have a bright future ahead of them. The Socs live on the West side. The Greasers are the other
gangwho weren t rich, weren t known to have bright futures and always had grease in their hair,
hence the name Greasers. Throughout the story many themes have been applied to our society
today. Two themes that I have chosen were that loyalty is a thread that holds people together and to
not judge people based on how society labels them.
Being loyal is to have a strong feeling of support or allegiance for someone or something.
In The Outsiders, Ponyboy and all the other Greasers had to assist each other in order not to get
pushed around by the Socs. An example of loyalty involves Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry, Since
Mom and Dad were killed in an auto wreck, the three of us get to stay together only as long as we
behave. So Soda and I stay out of trouble as much as we can (Hinton, 3). This quote shows how
the Curtis boys had to be more trustworthy and dependable to each other since their parents died or
if not, they would have to be separated. Another loyalty quote I found says, You take up

Mattel s Stereotypes
Barbie has been a household name for decades and many kids around the world love and adore
her greatly. Through the years Barbie has been at the top without any challengers to bring her
down. Executives and shareholder love the way in which Barbie conquers all of the competition.
Since its inception in 1945, Mattelhas been collecting market intelligence in some form (Nash
Duvall, 2005). As a man, I even understood the importance of Barbie to little girls growing up.
Around Christmas, Barbie had all the commercials appealing to the little girls and tweens. Like
any superpower, including countries and toys, there is sure to be challenges out there with
someone looking to dethrone the best. Mattel somehow felt that there was no way anyone could
dethrone Barbie, or steal much of her profits. They were quite wrong in their thinking and paid for
it with their bottom line. Although Mattel has focus groups and professionals who sampled the
pool of kids to define what they like, they failed miserably in seeing that things were changing
significantly. When companies are caught on their heels, it takes a while to react and that can cost
millions. In this case, a sluggish reaction by Mattel executives cost them in excess of 20 million,
over a short period of time. Girls who wanted attitude and ethnicity, not pert and pale, bought $20
million worth of Bratzdolls in the first six months they were out, and the doll line went on to win
the People s Choice Toy of the Year award from

The Story Of A Bedroom
In a bedroom, a girl lies still on her bed. She is clothed in her pajamas and a robe as if she didn t
quite finish getting ready for bed. She is rolled over on her side, her arms and legs bound with
rope and her eyes staring blankly at the pink wall in front of her that is now speckled with
blood. Her blood. There is a hole in the back of her head where a bullet pierced through her skull.
In another room, a woman has her hands and feet bound tightly with rope. She is also dressed in
her pajamas, but she has adhesive tape wrapped around her mouth. Her dead eyes look horrified
as if they are staring at the killer who took her life away. She has a bullet wound on the side of
her head. In the basement, a boy is found lying on a couch. He is gagged and bound like the
woman upstairs. His head is propped up by pillows and a ghastly hole decorates the middle of
his forehead where a bullet embedded itself in his skull. In the furnace room, a man is found lying
on top of a mattress box. He is bound and gagged like two of the previous victims. However, his is
the most gruesome murderthe most macabre murder. He did have a gunshot wound on the front of
his head, but he was probably already dead (or at least dying) when that deadly injury was

Affordable And Adequate Health Insurance For Children
History
Affordable and adequate health insurance for children in the United States a vital public good.
Research indicates that children who have health insurance have better health outcomes in their
childhood, adolescence and adulthood. (cite). During the mid 1900 s there were more 11 million
uninsured children in the United States (Institute of Medicine, 1998). In what yr Senators Edward
Kennedy and Orrin Hatch worked together to introduce a bill to provide healthcare insurance for
children (Milliigan, 2009). Initially, their bill was not passed because it did not work in accordance
with the existing Balanced Budget Act. After much deliberation, in 1997, Congress enacted State
Children s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) in order to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Funding for SCHIP is from both the federal government and the state government. To finance the
policy it was based on Federal Medical Assistance Program (FMAP) Explain this part better I don t
understand). FMAP was deisigned as an incentive for the states to expand the health insurance for
children based on Medicaid, Congress came up with an enhanced federal matching rate for SCHIP
at 15% points higher than the Medicaid rate. For example, if a state has a 50% match rate for
Medicaid, it would receive a 65% match rate for Medicaid for SCHIP. (cite) The policy has cost
the federal government almost $40 million over a ten year span. The federal government grants
and allocates the funds for SCHIP based on the number of uninsured children in families whose
income is below the federal poverty level (FPL). The individual states are responsible for
implementing the program based on analysis of ineligibility, enrollment and disenrollment.
Strengths
SCHIP has made notable achievements. An important strength is the flexibility afforded to the
states in executing the policy which led to positive reception and acceptance of the program. The
significance of states latitude over program design, gives states the ability to design the program
based on the inordinate needs of children in that state. Additionally, not every state has the same
needs and political realities to overcome.

Arguments Against Animal Testing Essay
Animal Testing There is much debate over whether animal testing should be allowed or not.
Some people think that it is not essential to sacrifice animals for human benefits because they are
being abused and tortured severely during experiments. Some others who stand against animal
testing claim that humans eliminate many lives on earth in order to safe humans lives, so there
is no justice because even animals have the right to live on earth, yet these people do not
consider the truth that animals are being used in the food industry or in the laboratories. Thus, if
someone asks how many animals are being used in the laboratory experiments around the world
every year, who can give an accurate answer? It can be one, ten, or fifty million. It is difficult to
find the exact figure on this question because people only read news through mass media such as
having a new vaccine which can help human avoid uterus cancer or a new medicine help humans
cure strokes, but they also need to know how many lives of the animalswould have to take in order
to get theses vaccines. Therefore, some organizes think that animal testingis one of the most
disturbing experiments ever, and it should be banned. Despite many controversies with opposing
opinions, a compromise can be made in order to reduce the use of animals in the laboratory
experiments. In the problem, there are always opposite sides which can create the debate about
using animals in the laboratory experiments. Some people want to

Frederick Douglass And Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels
Both authors Frederick Douglass and Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels focus on the topic of
freedom. Both authors argue that they are being oppressed. However, this is where the
similarities end. Engels and Marx believed that capitalism was a social system used by the
proletariats to oppress the bourgeoisie, and that the only way to be free was to fight back
against the system. On the other hand, Frederick Douglass focuses more on his individual story
and his struggle for freedom, while he tries to appeal to his audience from an ethical point of
view. Frederick Douglass biography revolves around the idea of freedom. After seeing a
traumatizing incident as a child, Douglass slowly begins to realize that he is not a free human
being, but is a slave owned by other people. He is surrounded by a society that devalues him and
people like him, and systematically worked to keep them ignorant and submissive. In this
society, it is made clear that no slave is special, and everyone is replaceable. Rather than accept
this, Douglass struggles to maintain what little autonomy he was allowed to have. When his one
of his masters, Thomas Auld, bans his mistress, Sophia, from teaching Douglass how to read,
Douglass learned from the young boys on the street. His biography shows him transforming from
an ignorant child into his older, more learned self. Douglass sees the idea of slaves in a country
that is as passionate as about its revolution as America hypocritical; in fact, this is the basis

Analysis Of The Movie The Manchurian Candidate
On the surface, the movie The Manchurian Candidate presents a parallel universe inspired by the
paranoid right wing illusions of people who believed in the Red Scare. The film itself crosses
over into several different dramas: war film, political satire, paranoid science fiction, black comedy,
suspenseful intrigue, and horror. The notion that the Russian and Chinese Communists were
working together to take over the U.S. by infiltrating them was a common idea. Because of the
communist brainwashing when captured, Raymond Shaw s lack of agency allows him to be
controlled by outside influences in order to infiltrate the United States. The paranoia and fear of
losing control to the communists during the Red Scare is paralleled in the film to a fear of the
power that women had over men. The relationship that Raymond Shaw has with the women in his
life is in complete opposition of the normal relationships men had with women during the Cold War
. This opposition is analogous throughout the entire movie, especially in the dream sequence and in
relation to Eleanor Shaw. Distorted representations of both men and women, which are not of the
customary gender roles during this time, contribute to the formation of a pubic spectacle.
The relationship between Eleanor and Raymond Shaw is not detailed in the movie, however her
explicit control over him is evident. The Jocasta complex presented in the novel creates a conflict
for the remainder of Raymond s life. His mother controls Raymond

While Flint has a significant industrial history, the location of possibly manufacturing plants that

there is no known alternative source for the increased lead exposure during this time period, the

the change in water source as the apparent cause of the increase in EBLL percentage. Children in
Flint Michigan already suffer from risk factors that increase their lead exposure such as poor

Business Intelligence ( Bi )
Introduction How much will organizations spend on business intelligence (BI) in 2016?
According to Gartner, organizations are projected to spend almost $16.9 billion in 2016. That is
an increase of 5.2% over 2015 sales . Business Intelligence plays a big role in today s business, it
now used in every part of the organization from supply chain to human resources
(www.gartner.com). This paper will compare two business intelligence software tools. First, I will
define business intelligence (BI). Then, I will examine the features of each of the BI tools. Next, I
will discuss the pros and cons of each software. This paper will focus on the capabilities and costs
for each BI software. Lastly, this paper will indicates which choice was made and an explanation of
that choice. Business Intelligence (BI) According to Sauter (2010), business intelligence is defined
as a goal, information is provided to decision makers in a timely manner to solve organizational
problems or to act on opportunities for the organization. The business intelligence system aids
decision makers in better understanding problems through data. Business intelligence has become
necessary due to globalization and the rate of speed in which business is conducted today, 24/7.
Information alone, is not business intelligent. The information must be intelligent (p. 56).
Intelligent information is information that is important to the organization and aligns with the
organization s goal (Sauter, 2010). It

Types Of The Human Host
All bacteria require certain amounts of transition metals to sustain life. These metals are necessary
to carry out important metabolic processes in the cell. Among other things, transition metals can act
as cofactors and they can be incorporated into metalloenzymes, transcription factors and storage
proteins (10). A. baumannii requires efficient mechanisms to acquire these transition metals,
especially when confined in a human host. The human host carries an abundant amount of metals
that can be harnessed by invading pathogens. To hinder a bacterium s exploitation of these metals,
the human host employs a variety of techniques collectively termed nutritional immunity (10). For
instance, calprotectin (CP) in the host chelates intracellular stores of manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn)
to inhibit bacterial growth [5]. All pathogens require essential metals such as iron to sustain life.
Iron is a significant component in oxidative phosphorylation, contributing to ATP production (21).
The human host also sequesters iron via various mechanisms in an attempt to further inhibit
bacterial growth. These iron limitation strategies include storing iron intracellularly by
complexing it to ferritin, serum transferrin and lactoferrin in mucosal surfaces (10). In the blood,
iron is also complexed to heme (10). Even when a red blood cell is lysed, hemoglobin is quickly
bound by haptoglabin and free heme is bound by hemeopexin (Hpx), further limiting A. baumannii
s access to iron (10).

Twitter currently have over 328 million active users, which rank them 9th within the social network

Tale Of Two Cities Women
Throughout history, women have been viewed as inferior to men, being portrayed as weak, less
intelligent, and dependent on men. This point of view has been exemplified in many literary works
by creating a male dominant society. In A Tale of Two Cities, written by Charles Dickens, the
female characters unlike the male, are all created as if to say that women are not capable of being
well rounded people. Dickens portrayal of women in A Tale of Two Cities is problematic because
rather than craft well rounded characters, as he does with many of the male characters, he portrays
them as beautiful but stereotypically weak, clever but crazy, and unattractive yet brave.
One of the first female characters introduced, Lucie Manette, is depicted as being

HISTORY OF TCM REFLEXOLOGY THROUGHOUT TIME
Ancient China has a history of foot therapy; in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the feet have
held symbolical importance for both spiritual and physical well being for many centuries in the
Orient.
Many Civilizations have practiced Reflexology. Evidence of this has been documented on four
continents, Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. The most common theory is that the earliest
form of reflexology originated in China as much as 5,000 years ago. Part of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM), Chinese Reflexology is the ancient art of working pressure points on the feet,
hands and ears that correspond to different parts of the body. The Chinese are also known to have
used Reflexology in conjunction with acupuncture. Dr. Wong Wei, a Chinese Doctor in the fourth
century BC evidently used to position acupuncture needles in the patient s bodies and then apply
very firm pressure with his thumbs to the soles of their feet. This pressure was maintained for
several minutes until the desired therapeutic effects were achieved. Dr. Wong Wei maintained that
as the pressure was applied and held healing energy was released into the patient s body.
Reflexology traveled across India, Japan, Asia and China. Many changes took place in Zone

Reflective Commentary On Alison Bechdel s Fun Home
Creative Response Reflective Commentary
I reworked Daniel Defoe s Roxana in the graphic novel style of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home.
Initially, the reason I chose the two novels was to see how well the oldest text on the course could
be adapted into the newest. Interestingly the texts proved to be quite similar in narrative; both are
versions of autobiography (although one fictional and one true), both feature a retrospective first
person, self conscious narrator (Booth 155), and both centre around a female protagonist deviating
from societal norms of the time. Fittingly enough Roxana also mentions her father in the beginning,
although she leaves him dead quite quickly. Adapting a novelinto a graphic novel is a drastic
stylistic change, and my biggest concern was to keep my adaption steadily tied with the two texts,
whilst trying not to get too carried away in the creative process.
I based my process of making the comic on an interview with Alison Bechdel, where she explains
how she planned the text in Adobe Illustrator, sketched and inked by hand, and finally rendered
the panels digitally ( Alison Bechdel ). Like Bechdel, I relied extensively on Google images for

The italicised words and German capitalization gets lost in the all caps form of the graphic
novel, yet something lingers in terms of autonomy of the author. It has a disregard of normal
stylistic considerations affected not only by Defoe as a writer but also a progress towards a
more factual prose in the late seventeenth century (Watt 105). Nowadays, the fixed structure of
grammar allows for little waywardness in format, apart from in the graphic novel. Like Defoe, the
individual artist has a certain freedom of choice, affected only by general conventions, of where to
place the text and how to guide the reader it is an interesting case of a rare anarchic individuality in

The Invisible Man Analysis
The story The Invisible Man is written by Ralph Ellison. The author takes his personal
experiences as an ignored man and creates this character that shows the characteristics of a man
whom few people would stop to acknowledge. This story can be seen as a symbol of an educated
black man whose life has been controlled and oppressed by a white society. Throughout the story
one will notice that the man is nameless. The is because the narrator in The Invisible Manis invisible
not only to others but himself as well because of racismand trying to live up to expectations of
others. There are certain tools that are given to him by outsiders and things he will use that will
ultimately develop him into student and man. The author has written about events that made the
invisible manwho he was. It is important to notice that the invisible man has been searching for his
identity the whole time and will later discover that his identity is in those things he has always had.
This story also uses appeal of pathetic to grab the reader s attention. Throughout the story the
author, Ralph Ellison, struggles to attempt to uncover the invisible man s identity that is buried
beneath oppression. It is important to understand that the invisible man is an African American
male who sates that he is only looked down on because of his skin color (Ellison). Ralph Ellison
goes in detail by showing us how lies can be seen as an obstacle to anyone s journey of finding
himself and his true identity. These obstacles are expressed in Ralph Ellison s usage of symbols
and imagery portrays those obstacles. The man is faced with these obstacles of deception in his
ability to make his own life, but instead is confined to live the life in white men s society. The
purpose calls for action to the public to open their eyes to realize that racism is a problem that
will not go away; it is something that must be forced to an end whereby men are willing to be
themselves in the process.
In the story, the narrator has set out to search for his true identity, but this idea of why he is blind
to the world leads him to become blind in the process. I believe that it is important to focus on the
significance of the man s living situation. The invisible man lives

NiccolГІ di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469 1527) is one of history s most renowned political
theorists. Truly a Renaissance Man , he excelled in many disciplines and was an avid scholar of the
ancients, but his most enduring legacy has been his political theories, particularly those outlined in
The Prince. Popular culture, however, has a skewed perception of Machiavelli s own personal

Although he does say that these princes have achieved their power and status through immoral
means, he also states that whether or not they are justified depends on whether cruelty be well
or badly used. Well used are those cruelties (if it is permitted to speak well of evil) that are
carried out in a single stroke, done out of necessity to protect oneself, and are not continued but
are instead converted into the greatest possible benefits for the subjects (Machiavelli, 106). He
indicates that often times the prince, as a ruler of his people, cannot make the same choices that
would be considered moral for a normal person. As a ruler, he must consider the good of all of
the people, and in doing so must sometimes choose the route which on the surface appears to be
immoral and evil, but will in theory create the most good for his people while also maintaining or
bolstering the prince s power over the people.
In spite of these statements, not all of his instructions are as unethical as his critics have made
them out to be. Later, in Chapter IX, he states that a prince must have the friendship of the
common people; otherwise he will have no support in times of adversity (109). It is out of
pragmatism, and not morality, that he makes this assertion. The good will and well being of the
people are conducive to maintaining order and may help preserve the prince s position of power.
First and foremost, however, is that preservation of power for the

Documentation in Software Engineering An Overview of Documenting Software Engineering in

an integral part of the software development process. For many different kinds of systems, different

Nevertheless, I never realized that the things we purchased on the one side was produced from
elsewhere and packed in another, preserved and treated also in another country.
When I moved back to the East from the West I had focused more attention on the origin of the
products that we took for granted. For instance, Samoans love coconut cream, therefore made their
own from the many coconut trees in their backyard. The Samoans that were not so fortunate had
to purchase these creams from the store when needed. The difference between the two is the
degree of Scarcity changing with lifestyle. Perchance, the only two reasons for the Western side
to hit bottom rocks is due to laziness and when mother nature is in rage. Eastern side, on the
other hand, would perhaps have more than just two reasons. Either resources are scarce or the
production value is just not worth a couple of dollars, or natural resources were there but did not
have the capability or essential skills to utilize it. Resources were within a simple grasp.
However, changes brought more demand. When the boys took off for the night to fish they would
make and gather so much that giving them out within one day was impossible. Nevertheless, with
the rituals came to give some away for free, certain Samoan beliefs made it harder to utilize the
buy and sell scheme. Older folks were more disposed to giving, embracing the value of open hands .

part of an exponentially growing economy as they are unfortunately marked as the less prosperous
part of the country. This evidently leads to unemployment. Unemployment is defined as the people
of working age who are without work, available for work and actively seeking employment. This
effectively contributes to the prevalence rate as due to being unemployed people are unable to
afford necessities, such as Hepatitis C treatment, since there is no government system in place in
aid of the unemployed. However, if an individual is employed and earning an income, the income
may not be sufficient enough to accommodation an appropriate and successful course of treatment.

Hieronymus Bosch Research Paper
Hieronymus Bosch was an artist who was alive during the middle of the Renaissance time period,
yet his real name is Jeroen Anthoniszoon, the other is what we ve taken to call him. He was born
circa 1453 and died in the year 1516, both in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. The artist didn t travel out
of his hometown very often, and it is thoughtthat he was taught artistry locally, possibly by his
grandfather and father, who were both painters. Not much is known about Bosch s personal life, so
historians have tried to make educated guesses about his early years and what had happened
throughout his life
Hieronymus Bosch s most significant piece was The Garden of Earthly Delights. This is because
it was so large, about seven feet tall and over double

The Proximate Causes Of Violence In The Yanomamo Culture
In the Yanomamo culture, warfare is practiced as a way to demonstrate the strength of a village,
or individual. Overall, warfare is practiced in the Yanomamo culture because of a combination of
factors. One of the proximate, or indirect, causes of the violence include seeking revenge for
villagers who have been killed. Another proximate cause of violence that it is used to steal
women from other villages in order to increase the number of available wives. Also, villages
must appear intimidating and tough so that other villages do not raid them. These are a few of
the proximate causes of violence. Competition over scarce resources is one ultimate, or root,
cause of violence. Men who are violent may gain greater social status, which encourages violence
overall. Another ultimate cause of the violence is the lack of strong political leadership within the
villages. These villages do not have leaders to stop violence or structure violence in productive
ways. Without such leaders, villagers are more likely to rely on violence in impulsive ways.
Hostility between villages often results in violence, as there are no leaders to resolve the hostility.
In addition, another ultimate cause of violence is the geographical environment of the Yanomamo.
Since the Yanomamo territory is restricted, and often invaded by outsiders, available land becomes
more scarce. This causes competition for land to increase, which increases violence. Since people of
the Yanomamo cannot move into areas

Key Purpose Behind The Dobb- Frank Act
Very often than not there are regulations implemented as a means to dissolve an issue that needs to
be resolved as soon as possible and is implemented immediately. However these needed resolutions
end up affecting the little man such as community banks.
The main purpose behind the Dobb Frank act was to lend a hand to consumers and make the market
more financially stable. The majority of commercial banks are in fact community banks and tend to
serve in suburban, and rural communities. A huge difference between the larger banks in a
metropolitan area and a community bank is the way they make decisions on the customer that
come in to obtain a loan. Community banks use a means of relationship banking, which is when
the representative of the bank attempt to meet the needs of the customer by attempting to find a
means to meet these needs. Finding the best means through financial services with the customer
and working with them builds a relationship that might even be for a long term. Larger banks in
a metropolitan area are more likely to impose a less relationship minded means of dealing with
their customers. More than likely they ll turn to transactional banking. Transactional banks has no
input from customers and relies on the facts about the customer s history information, such as
credit scores. This type of banking is very affective when dealing with customer s on a wider scale,
because this serves as a cheaper option for a wider scale customer base. While this is great

The Colonialization Of Italy And The Colonization Of Libya
Italy, like most countries, conquered other countries for the purpose of benefitting their economic
and political needs. According to Martin Moore, What in effect is taking place is a State financed
and officially organised mass migration of Europeans, from an over crowded temperate Europe, to
a barren non European country overseas (Moore 1). However, Italywas the last country to explore
and conquer the land in Africa, which limited the amount of land available to them. This was shown
in the colonization of Libya. Libya was not a country that was ideal to colonize because of their
stationary civilization and monotheistic religion. Regardless, Italy was determined to conquer this
land for the benefit of the natives and Italy itself. Carlo Schanzer writes, In short, Italy wishes to
govern her African colonies by introducing her surplus man power among backward populations
and integrating the two, never by unnecessarily substituting the former for the latter (Schanzer 448).
Italy intended to do this through focusing on giving justice, order, hygiene, communications, and
education to Libya. In order to further their goal, Italy wanted to focus on the sanitation issue
facing Libya. According to the Italian Colonial Policy in North Africa, it states, Italy colonizes not
only with her sword, however, but also with the aid of her doctors and her teachers (Schanzer 449).
Statesman, Francesco Crispi, built many Italian schools and hospitals on the Mediterranean coast,

Homeric Gods
Homeric Gods Lecture Summary
The lecture on Homeric gods by Professor Carolyn Anderson provided information about the
Odyssey, ancient Greek culture, and the gods presiding in the culture. During the time period of
the ancient Greeks, much was unexplainable. The numerous gods were a way to explain
occurrences and their religion was a way of regulating the world and having structure, and the
gods played a large part in the Greek culture. The religion was also heavily influenced by narratives
about causality such as the Odyssey and the Iliad. The Odyssey and Iliad are not divine texts, but
they are foundational. These stories originated as oral poetry and to create a fixed text people
from all over came together with their best versions and piece by piece the epic poems were put
together. There is a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Zeus came Poseidon, Hades, Helios, and Aphrodite to name a few. Poseidon was the god
of the sea, and Hades was the god of the dead. Then there was Helios who was the god of the sun,
and Aphrodite was the god of love. The gods had to obey the fates, and necessity. They were
reflections of man in the sense that they had good and bad impulses. They could be distracted
and hold grudges. These beings were not what we would expect from divinity now. There were
multiple origins of the gods. Small worship towns had different ideas of what each god was. In
one town Artemis, the god of hunting and the moon, was a virgin to some people, but in other
areas she was sexualized. It also was common for there to be a masculine religion of sky gods,
and feminine religion of Earth gods. The purpose of the gods was to inforce the difference
between mortality and immortality. Heroes were humans that were favored by the gods and some
heroes were offered immortality. Many declined because in the culture the people preferred to live
a short heroic honorable life than a long one that will not be

Online Classroom Vs. Traditional Brick And Mortar Classroom
The first distinction between learning in an online classroom versus that of a traditional brick
and mortar classroom is that of time. Students log into their virtual classroom at times of their
choosing to learn and complete assignments. The virtual campus that we use has click functions
that are set up like a regular classroom. These functions mimic interactions between course
facilitators and students in traditional settings. V camp has an announcements section like a
bulletin board on a campus. We receive short notices from the facilitator such as reminders,
updates to schedules or other need to know information that doesn t require an email campaign
from the faculty. The attend section allows you watch your professor or facilitator deliver the
lesson in lecture format. This, in particular, will remind traditional learning students of sitting in
a classroom. One thing that is good about a recorded lecture is you can immediately replay a
section that you failed to understand and gain the knowledge that you require which may have
been missed in a regular classroom setting. The profiles section allows you meet your classmates
and see if any live near you to see if you can study together. The discuss section of the program
lets you carry on open dialogue with your classmates. Each student is required to answer the same
question regarding a section of the course in a certain format and reply to two other classmate s
posts. This requirement allows for a dialogue between

Mental Health Research Paper
Importance of Mental Health When selecting my topic I tried to think of something i m good at,
a sport, a certain subject in school, or even my place of employment. Only one thing came to my
mind that has affected me over the past few years and that has been mental illness. I m very
dedicated to removing the negative connotation on mental illness, by talking openly about it. In
order to remove the stigma on mental illness it is very important to view it like you would if
someone had a physical injury, don t view it as an embarrassment or a weakness, and that patience
is the key when talking to someone suffering from a mental illness. Mental illness is just about as
serious, if not more serious than any other medical illness. The difference... Show more content on

You can visibly see when someone has some sort of physical issue, like a broken bone, but you
can never tell when someone is mentally in pain. This is why it s very important for mental
illness to be accepted by the public and talked about in our everyday lives. Talking about it
openly should become a normality. One in four people in the world will be affected by mental
or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer
from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill health and
disability worldwide. ( World Health Report 2001 Press Kit. WHO, World Health Organization,
www.who.int/whr/2001/media_centre/en/.) This may not affect everyone and disrupt their lives,
but it has been a very impactful factor in my life. I ve lost some good friends to mental illness
and one last year to suicide, which is why I think it s very important to not stigmatize people who
are suffering from one whether it s depression, anxiety, bipolar, ocd, or schizophrenia. It s important
not shame someone because they are mentally sick, because it could make them resist seeking help.

Self-Acquaintance And John Winthrop s City Upon A Hill
For our second week of school, we learned about the different Puritan ideals and how they
influenced our society today. In this essay, I will discuss one of those many ideals and provide
evidence to defend that it is, indeed, a Puritanical ideal that can be found in many early colonial
pieces of literature, such as Self Acquaintance by William Cooper, Here followes some verses
upon the burning of our house, July 10th, 1666 by Anne Bradstreet, and John Winthrop s City
Upon A Hill, 1630. Loyalty to God, or faith, is a Puritanideal.
Faith is a Puritan ideal as shown in many early colonial works. In Self Acquaintance by William
Cooper, the speaker begins to question his faith before stating, Oh, cleanse me in a Saviour s
blood,/Transform me by thy pow r,/And make me thy beloved abode,/And let me rove no more.
As he begins to wander from his faith, he cries out to God, his Saviour, to cleanse him from the sin
of doubting his faith. In Anne Bradstreet s Here followes some verses upon the burning of our
house, July ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Kremlin s Report On Energy Security In Post-Soviet Eastern...
In 2007, the Helsinki Commission held a congressional hearing focusing on energy security in
Post Soviet Eastern Europe. The hearing took place in the wake of the first major Ukrainian
Russian gas dispute in 2006 that not only demonstrated the Kremlin s motives to use its energy
resources, natural gas in particular, as a weapon to meddle in its immediate neighbors domestic
affairs, but also show the rest of Europe s, especially Central and Southeastern Europe s, extreme
dependency on Russias energy supplies. Back then, experts and policy makers focused and made
recommendations primarily on the enhancement of security of supply through the construction of
new energy infrastructure, namely pipelines, which would allow the diversification... Show more

The most important Kremlin sponsored projects have been the planned Nord Stream 2 and
TurkStream pipelines which both intend to carry gas to EU countries by circumventing Russia s
immediate post Soviet neighbors.
According to Doran, the Kremlin s motive is clearly to end the role that Ukraine, and to a lesser
extent Moldova, currently plays in the transit of gas to the EU through the Brotherhood and the
Trans Balkan pipelines. The success of Nord Stream 2 could potentially result in the loss of
billions of dollars in transit revenues for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as diminishing their
geopolitical importance for Europe, while subsequently enabling Russia to reassert its old influence
over them by exploiting their diminished energy security.
As a result of massive infrastructure projects promoted by the EU to develop reverse flow
capacities on existing pipelines and create new interconnections, Ukraine is now capable of
purchasing gas from a Western direction and, for the first time, since November 2015 has ceased
buying gas contractually from Russia altogether. New pipeline infrastructure projects, namely the
planned expansion of the IaЕџi Ungheni pipeline, as Lyndon Allin, Associate at Baker Mackenzie,
pointed out at the same briefing, might enable Moldova in the medium run as well to reduce its

Huck Finn Superstition

religion for him and Jim. Superstition remain in the thoughts of Huck no matter what he goes

learns something new from the experience. Superstition creates a solid foundation for everything
done in the book. Superstition acts as a religion for the large majority of people at this time period

Rhetorical Analysis Of Brother Dean Jackeline Aguilar Rhetorical Analysis on Brother Dean Brother Dean is a campus preacher that is talking about controversial topics like rape, feminism, and gay people. He uses the bible to back up the statements that he makes. Brother Dean walks around the campus of the University of Arizona wearing shirts with the statements you whore and signs that say you deserve rape . He is walking around and essentially slut shaming women because he states that they get raped because they wear revealing clothes. He does not talk in long speeches about his beliefs because a lot of the students on campus do not have the time to stop and listen to him. Instead he talks really fast and attempts to persuade people to believe in his statements as they pass by. His preachings are mostly based on christianity and the bible. He never uses anything else to back his believes besides the bible. Brother Dean is using the bible as a weapon to persuade others to join him, proving that he is cultured. The reason Brother Dean is going on campus and preaching is so that he can get people to convert. As Nissi Powell, a student on campus said, he is only trying to get people s attention with his remarks. He is doing it in a wrong way because a lot of people do not respond well when they are being attacked with words. He could have tried a more effective way to get people to listen to him if he talked about the religion itself. He could have mentioned what a day in mass was like or passages from the bible that were positive. Due to his strident approach, he has caused chaos and violence towards him. People have started to rip his shirt, throw away his signs, and has had a smoothie thrown at him. His hobby has had a lot a controversy but some women do agree with him like his friend Sarah. She claims that women put themselves in situations without needing to be there. She also states that she agrees with everything brother Dean ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

African Americans have displayed heroism and bravery for what we believe in. Without Black History Month as a holiday, these people would not have been recognized for all of their many achievements. We must continue to celebrate the achievements of African Americans, and we must correct the inconsistences of the past. Black History Month should be kept as a national holiday as long as we are the United States of America. Black History Month was not intended to last an entire month. For over one hundred years, textbooks have been leaving out critical information about our history, and then feeding it to our children. Currently, when a child is taught history, the information typically consists of many white people fighting white people and one side losing. Although the textbooks represent the whites more than the blacks, it was not always the whites who led our side to victory. Many blacks people have been responsible for contributing to the United States great name of the most powerful nation in the world. One example of black individuals who have been left out and led our country to battle was The War of 1812. A group called the Battalion of Free Men of Color played a significant role in this historic battle. The group consisted of black slaves who wished to defend their country in combat. According to Sam Houston State University (SHSU), the battle ended up being the worst defeat suffered by British arms in years . This may be true, however, the blacks were not and still are not credited for being such an asset to our country. Ironically, the black role was soon overlooked, as black veterans were not permitted to march in the annual parades celebrating the victory (SHSU). • 4. Qualitative Data Collection Methods Paper Qualitative data collection method is the method I would use to answer my research question: How does text messaging effect teen literacy? I would choose this method over quantitative because qualitative methods are lead with first hand observations for a wide range of behaviors. The hypothesis is broad and looks to describe the entire picture. It helps us to understand the world we live in and explains why things are the way they are. This type of researchis primary gathering information for the early stages of a question. One of the major reasons for doing qualitative researchis to become more experienced with the phenomenon you are interested in. Qualitative data collections are particularly helpful when the event is not of importance, but rather how the event may influence a sequence of other actions. Describing the complicated phenomena is not the goal of a qualitative research, but rather to distinguish ideas as to why and how a specific phenomenon operates as it does in a precise situation. Qualitative research involves capturing the complexity of behavior that occurs in natural settings while the opposite goal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Street Daylight Kevin Peterson Analysis Kevin Peterson is a Houston based figurative painter. He has done many works of graffiti art such as Into the Light, Rooster Brand, Cold, Angel, and Street Light. The urban environment plays a huge roll in his provoking visual subject matter. He prefers to set children against a backdrop of harsh streets and graffiti covered surroundings. The painter claims his inspiration leaps from this juxtaposition, the purity and innocence that the youth present contrasted with the weathered and decayed areas of the metropolis. In Peterson s moving works, there is a contrast that suffices as both a metaphor and a recurring composition. • 6. Loyalty In The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton The silence grew heavier, and I could hear the harsh heavy breathing of the boys around me. Still Darry and the Soc walked slowly in a circle (Hinton, 143). The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a realistic fiction novel taking place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. The story informs the reader of a rivalry between two gangs, the Socials (Socs) who are the rich people that have nice cars, clothes, and have a bright future ahead of them. The Socs live on the West side. The Greasers are the other gangwho weren t rich, weren t known to have bright futures and always had grease in their hair, hence the name Greasers. Throughout the story many themes have been applied to our society today. Two themes that I have chosen were that loyalty is a thread that holds people together and to not judge people based on how society labels them. Being loyal is to have a strong feeling of support or allegiance for someone or something. In The Outsiders, Ponyboy and all the other Greasers had to assist each other in order not to get pushed around by the Socs. An example of loyalty involves Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry, Since Mom and Dad were killed in an auto wreck, the three of us get to stay together only as long as we behave. So Soda and I stay out of trouble as much as we can (Hinton, 3). This quote shows how the Curtis boys had to be more trustworthy and dependable to each other since their parents died or if not, they would have to be separated. Since its inception in 1945, Mattelhas been collecting market intelligence in some form (Nash Duvall, 2005). As a man, I even understood the importance of Barbie to little girls growing up. Around Christmas, Barbie had all the commercials appealing to the little girls and tweens. Like any superpower, including countries and toys, there is sure to be challenges out there with someone looking to dethrone the best. Mattel somehow felt that there was no way anyone could dethrone Barbie, or steal much of her profits. They were quite wrong in their thinking and paid for it with their bottom line. Although Mattel has focus groups and professionals who sampled the pool of kids to define what they like, they failed miserably in seeing that things were changing significantly. When companies are caught on their heels, it takes a while to react and that can cost millions. In this case, a sluggish reaction by Mattel executives cost them in excess of 20 million, over a short period of time. Some others who stand against animal testing claim that humans eliminate many lives on earth in order to safe humans lives, so there is no justice because even animals have the right to live on earth, yet these people do not consider the truth that animals are being used in the food industry or in the laboratories. Thus, if someone asks how many animals are being used in the laboratory experiments around the world every year, who can give an accurate answer? It can be one, ten, or fifty million. It is difficult to find the exact figure on this question because people only read news through mass media such as having a new vaccine which can help human avoid uterus cancer or a new medicine help humans cure strokes, but they also need to know how many lives of the animalswould have to take in order to get theses vaccines. Therefore, some organizes think that animal testingis one of the most disturbing experiments ever, and it should be banned. • 14. Frederick Douglass And Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels Both authors Frederick Douglass and Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels focus on the topic of freedom. Both authors argue that they are being oppressed. However, this is where the similarities end. Engels and Marx believed that capitalism was a social system used by the proletariats to oppress the bourgeoisie, and that the only way to be free was to fight back against the system. On the other hand, Frederick Douglass focuses more on his individual story and his struggle for freedom, while he tries to appeal to his audience from an ethical point of view. Frederick Douglass biography revolves around the idea of freedom. After seeing a traumatizing incident as a child, Douglass slowly begins to realize that he is not a free human being, but is a slave owned by other people. He is surrounded by a society that devalues him and people like him, and systematically worked to keep them ignorant and submissive. In this society, it is made clear that no slave is special, and everyone is replaceable. Rather than accept this, Douglass struggles to maintain what little autonomy he was allowed to have. When his one of his masters, Thomas Auld, bans his mistress, Sophia, from teaching Douglass how to read, Douglass learned from the young boys on the street. • 17. Analysis Of The Movie The Manchurian Candidate On the surface, the movie The Manchurian Candidate presents a parallel universe inspired by the paranoid right wing illusions of people who believed in the Red Scare. The film itself crosses over into several different dramas: war film, political satire, paranoid science fiction, black comedy, suspenseful intrigue, and horror. The notion that the Russian and Chinese Communists were working together to take over the U.S. by infiltrating them was a common idea. Because of the communist brainwashing when captured, Raymond Shaw s lack of agency allows him to be controlled by outside influences in order to infiltrate the United States. The paranoia and fear of losing control to the communists during the Red Scare is paralleled in the film to a fear of the power that women had over men. The relationship that Raymond Shaw has with the women in his life is in complete opposition of the normal relationships men had with women during the Cold War . This opposition is analogous throughout the entire movie, especially in the dream sequence and in relation to Eleanor Shaw. Distorted representations of both men and women, which are not of the customary gender roles during this time, contribute to the formation of a pubic spectacle. The relationship between Eleanor and Raymond Shaw is not detailed in the movie, however her explicit control over him is evident. • 20. Types Of The Human Host All bacteria require certain amounts of transition metals to sustain life. These metals are necessary to carry out important metabolic processes in the cell. Among other things, transition metals can act as cofactors and they can be incorporated into metalloenzymes, transcription factors and storage proteins (10). A. baumannii requires efficient mechanisms to acquire these transition metals, especially when confined in a human host. The human host carries an abundant amount of metals that can be harnessed by invading pathogens. To hinder a bacterium s exploitation of these metals, the human host employs a variety of techniques collectively termed nutritional immunity (10). For instance, calprotectin (CP) in the host chelates intracellular stores of manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn) to inhibit bacterial growth [5]. All pathogens require essential metals such as iron to sustain life. Iron is a significant component in oxidative phosphorylation, contributing to ATP production (21). The human host also sequesters iron via various mechanisms in an attempt to further inhibit bacterial growth. These iron limitation strategies include storing iron intracellularly by complexing it to ferritin, serum transferrin and lactoferrin in mucosal surfaces (10). In the blood, iron is also complexed to heme (10). Even when a red blood cell is lysed, hemoglobin is quickly bound by haptoglabin and free heme is bound by hemeopexin (Hpx), further limiting A. baumannii s access to iron (10). ... The rash will first form blisters, then scab over, and finally clear up over a few weeks (WebMD, 2015). Pain and the rash are the telltale signs of shingles. Usually the rash is more painful than it is itchy. The shingles virus attacks the nerve roots in the skin. Nerve roots in the skin are located on both sides of the body. The rash usually affects the middle of the back towards the chest. It may affect the face around one eye. It is possible to have more than one area of rash on the body. This point of view has been exemplified in many literary works by creating a male dominant society. In A Tale of Two Cities, written by Charles Dickens, the female characters unlike the male, are all created as if to say that women are not capable of being well rounded people. Dickens portrayal of women in A Tale of Two Cities is problematic because rather than craft well rounded characters, as he does with many of the male characters, he portrays them as beautiful but stereotypically weak, clever but crazy, and unattractive yet brave. Many Civilizations have practiced Reflexology. Evidence of this has been documented on four continents, Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. The most common theory is that the earliest form of reflexology originated in China as much as 5,000 years ago. Part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chinese Reflexology is the ancient art of working pressure points on the feet, hands and ears that correspond to different parts of the body. The Chinese are also known to have used Reflexology in conjunction with acupuncture. Dr. Wong Wei, a Chinese Doctor in the fourth century BC evidently used to position acupuncture needles in the patient s bodies and then apply very firm pressure with his thumbs to the soles of their feet. This pressure was maintained for several minutes until the desired therapeutic effects were achieved. • 33. Reflective Commentary On Alison Bechdel s Fun Home Creative Response Reflective Commentary I reworked Daniel Defoe s Roxana in the graphic novel style of Alison Bechdel s Fun Home. Initially, the reason I chose the two novels was to see how well the oldest text on the course could be adapted into the newest. Interestingly the texts proved to be quite similar in narrative; both are versions of autobiography (although one fictional and one true), both feature a retrospective first person, self conscious narrator (Booth 155), and both centre around a female protagonist deviating from societal norms of the time. Fittingly enough Roxana also mentions her father in the beginning, although she leaves him dead quite quickly. Adapting a novelinto a graphic novel is a drastic stylistic change, and my biggest concern was to keep my adaption steadily tied with the two texts, whilst trying not to get too carried away in the creative process. I based my process of making the comic on an interview with Alison Bechdel, where she explains how she planned the text in Adobe Illustrator, sketched and inked by hand, and finally rendered the panels digitally ( Alison Bechdel ). Overall, warfare is practiced in the Yanomamo culture because of a combination of factors. One of the proximate, or indirect, causes of the violence include seeking revenge for villagers who have been killed. Another proximate cause of violence that it is used to steal women from other villages in order to increase the number of available wives. Also, villages must appear intimidating and tough so that other villages do not raid them. These are a few of the proximate causes of violence. Competition over scarce resources is one ultimate, or root, cause of violence. Men who are violent may gain greater social status, which encourages violence overall. Another ultimate cause of the violence is the lack of strong political leadership within the villages. These villages do not have leaders to stop violence or structure violence in productive ways. Without such leaders, villagers are more likely to rely on violence in impulsive ways. Hostility between villages often results in violence, as there are no leaders to resolve the hostility. In addition, another ultimate cause of violence is the geographical environment of the Yanomamo. However, Italywas the last country to explore and conquer the land in Africa, which limited the amount of land available to them. This was shown in the colonization of Libya. Libya was not a country that was ideal to colonize because of their stationary civilization and monotheistic religion. Regardless, Italy was determined to conquer this land for the benefit of the natives and Italy itself. Carlo Schanzer writes, In short, Italy wishes to govern her African colonies by introducing her surplus man power among backward populations and integrating the two, never by unnecessarily substituting the former for the latter (Schanzer 448). Italy intended to do this through focusing on giving justice, order, hygiene, communications, and education to Libya. In order to further their goal, Italy wanted to focus on the sanitation issue facing Libya. • 47. Online Classroom Vs. Traditional Brick And Mortar Classroom The first distinction between learning in an online classroom versus that of a traditional brick and mortar classroom is that of time. Students log into their virtual classroom at times of their choosing to learn and complete assignments. The virtual campus that we use has click functions that are set up like a regular classroom. These functions mimic interactions between course facilitators and students in traditional settings. V camp has an announcements section like a bulletin board on a campus. We receive short notices from the facilitator such as reminders, updates to schedules or other need to know information that doesn t require an email campaign from the faculty. The attend section allows you watch your professor or facilitator deliver the lesson in lecture format. This, in particular, will remind traditional learning students of sitting in a classroom. One thing that is good about a recorded lecture is you can immediately replay a section that you failed to understand and gain the knowledge that you require which may have been missed in a regular classroom setting. The profiles section allows you meet your classmates and see if any live near you to see if you can study together. The discuss section of the program lets you carry on open dialogue with your classmates. Each student is required to answer the same question regarding a section of the course in a certain format and reply to two other classmate s posts. This requirement allows for a dialogue between ... • 48. Mental Health Research Paper Importance of Mental Health When selecting my topic I tried to think of something i m good at, a sport, a certain subject in school, or even my place of employment. Only one thing came to my mind that has affected me over the past few years and that has been mental illness. I m very dedicated to removing the negative connotation on mental illness, by talking openly about it. In order to remove the stigma on mental illness it is very important to view it like you would if someone had a physical injury, don t view it as an embarrassment or a weakness, and that patience is the key when talking to someone suffering from a mental illness. Mental illness is just about as serious, if not more serious than any other medical illness. The difference... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can visibly see when someone has some sort of physical issue, like a broken bone, but you can never tell when someone is mentally in pain. This is why it s very important for mental illness to be accepted by the public and talked about in our everyday lives. Talking about it openly should become a normality. One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill health and disability worldwide. ( World Health Report 2001 Press Kit. WHO, World Health Organization, www.who.int/whr/2001/media_centre/en/.) This may not affect everyone and disrupt their lives, but it has been a very impactful factor in my life. I ve lost some good friends to mental illness and one last year to suicide, which is why I think it s very important to not stigmatize people who are suffering from one whether it s depression, anxiety, bipolar, ocd, or schizophrenia. It s important not shame someone because they are mentally sick, because it could make them resist seeking help. Be someone they can confide in when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Self-Acquaintance And John Winthrop s City Upon A Hill For our second week of school, we learned about the different Puritan ideals and how they influenced our society today. In this essay, I will discuss one of those many ideals and provide evidence to defend that it is, indeed, a Puritanical ideal that can be found in many early colonial pieces of literature, such as Self Acquaintance by William Cooper, Here followes some verses upon the burning of our house, July 10th, 1666 by Anne Bradstreet, and John Winthrop s City Upon A Hill, 1630. Loyalty to God, or faith, is a Puritanideal. Faith is a Puritan ideal as shown in many early colonial works. In Self Acquaintance by William Cooper, the speaker begins to question his faith before stating, Oh, cleanse me in a Saviour s blood,/Transform me by thy pow r,/And make me thy beloved abode,/And let me rove no more. As he begins to wander from his faith, he cries out to God, his Saviour, to cleanse him from the sin of doubting his faith. • 50. Kremlin s Report On Energy Security In Post-Soviet Eastern... In 2007, the Helsinki Commission held a congressional hearing focusing on energy security in Post Soviet Eastern Europe. The hearing took place in the wake of the first major Ukrainian Russian gas dispute in 2006 that not only demonstrated the Kremlin s motives to use its energy resources, natural gas in particular, as a weapon to meddle in its immediate neighbors domestic affairs, but also show the rest of Europe s, especially Central and Southeastern Europe s, extreme dependency on Russias energy supplies. Back then, experts and policy makers focused and made recommendations primarily on the enhancement of security of supply through the construction of new energy infrastructure, namely pipelines, which would allow the diversification... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important Kremlin sponsored projects have been the planned Nord Stream 2 and TurkStream pipelines which both intend to carry gas to EU countries by circumventing Russia s immediate post Soviet neighbors. According to Doran, the Kremlin s motive is clearly to end the role that Ukraine, and to a lesser extent Moldova, currently plays in the transit of gas to the EU through the Brotherhood and the Trans Balkan pipelines. The success of Nord Stream 2 could potentially result in the loss of billions of dollars in transit revenues for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as diminishing their geopolitical importance for Europe, while subsequently enabling Russia to reassert its old influence over them by exploiting their diminished energy security. As a result of massive infrastructure projects promoted by the EU to develop reverse flow capacities on existing pipelines and create new interconnections, Ukraine is now capable of purchasing gas from a Western direction and, for the first time, since November 2015 has ceased buying gas contractually from Russia altogether. New pipeline infrastructure projects, namely the planned expansion of the IaЕџi Ungheni pipeline, as Lyndon Allin, Associate at Baker Mackenzie, pointed out at the same briefing, might enable Moldova in the medium run as well to reduce its ...
