Water Recycling Reduces Drinking Water Scarcity Essay
Water Recycling
A Regional Administrator named Felicia Marcus once stated, Water recycling is a critical element for
managing our water resources. Her statement symbolizes modern technological ideals to increase the
reuse of water. Also known as water reclamation, water recycling is the process of extracting
previously used water and treating it for reuse. Currently, modern technologies have allowed the
application of recycled water to enter many different areas. Reclaimed water is cleaned and
redistributed for land irrigation, to recharge ground water, for industrial applications (cooling the
water for power plants and oil refineries), for toilet water, to irrigate golf courses and to create
artificial snow. By utilizing the many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recycled water not only helps decrease human habitat destruction, it also is considered more effective
than natural water for agricultural irrigation. At first, farmers were skeptical of using a previously
contaminated water to irrigate their food crops. However, when studied in further detail it was
determined that reclaimed water actually contributed to plant growth. The added nutrients in the
recycled water improve crop quality and development, without polluting the crops themselves.
Farmers and others that use recycled water regularly also appreciate the dependability of receiving the
reused water. Use of reclaimed water decreases the chance of future drought and insures farmers a
more stable source of water than ever before.
In contrast, there are also many problems and questions linked to the reuse of water. Economically, the
initial installation to supply recycled water to an area can be expensive, and complicated. Separate
pipes and specific labeling is required for all reclaimed water distribution. Another concern in using
recycled water is its potential health risks. A study done by three Bay Area scientists was conducted to
search for Salmonella, Cyclospora and E. Coli 0157:H7 within water after it had been disinfected in
the tertiary stage of recycling. Fortunately the scientists did not find any of the three bacteria within
the reclaimed water, further

Hot Lanes Case Study
Why HOT Lanes?
High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes have been a central part of the commuter strategy for Northern
Virginia since the late 1960s and early 1970s. Northern Virginia recognized the need to have dedicated
high occupancy vehicle to facilitate the large growth in the region s population. In 1969 the nation s
first HOV lanes opened up on I 395, initially bus only lanes in an attempt to encourage mass
transportation. In the early 1970 s the lanes sat empty most of the time, consequently the decision was
made to open the lanes for passenger vehicles with two or more people, the HOV lane as we know it
was operational.
In the Washington Metro area, there has been very little change how the area handles vehicular traffic.

Benefits
Primary beneficiaries of the Hot Lanes are the commuters. Secondary benefits include a large influx of
construction work, improved road conditions, $250 M worth of road infrastructure improvements not
financed by tax dollars among others. A majority of the Northern Virginia region benefits from the
HOT lanes in one form or another. The long term benefits of the program have yet to be realized as
this is an 85 year project.
Value of Time
The estimated value of time in the Washington DC Metro area is $17.67 per hour. With 45% of vehicle
miles during peak hours traveled during the 5.4 hours per day that are considered congested .
Estimates vary one study from California reported that the individual value of time for a commute to
work is between 50 90 percent of the average wage rate . Local economic dynamics play a role in the
equation. A study on the HOT Lanes in Texas determined that Katy Freeway traveler s value of time
was approximately 42% of their equivalent hourly wage . It demonstrates the fact that the more one
values their time, the more likely they are to use the toll

Concepts Of The Anomie Theory
Theoretical framework
Anomie Theory For the purpose of the study, anomie and planned behaviour theory have been applied
since they bear relevant to the analysis of impact of solid waste on environment and health. The
French sociologist Emile Durkheim introduced the term Anomie in his study of suicide (1897). He has
also borrowed the word from the French philosopher Jean Marie Guyau. According to Emile
Durkheim, anomie is an absence of social values and norms. The anomie theory explains various
forms of deviance. It is also called strain theory. When a social structure or system is in the state of
abnormal or deviant, the common values, norms and meanings are no longer understood or accepted,
and the new values, norms and meanings have not emerged or developed. According to Emile
Durkheim, social facts are the subject issues of sociology. It is also defined as the patterns of
behaviour that are capable of exercising some power upon individuals. The social facts guide and
control conducts external to the individual in the form of norms, folkways and mores. Emile ... Show

Who Is Crazy In A Midsummer Night s Dream
In William Shakespeare s play, A Midsummer Night s Dream there is Makeups,Breakups and Love.
The characters go through a roller coaster of emotions throughout the play. Many emotions of the
characters are made confusing by the king of fairies Oberon and his servant Puck/Robin. The drama
throughout the play creates many problems for the characters. One of those characters is Helena, she
shows that love is crazy when she talks to Hermia, gives Demetrius permission to beat her and when
she talks to Demetrius in the woods. In the beginning of the play Helena is introduced with being in
love with Demetrius. The audience knows from the text that Demetrius is in love with Hermia. While
talking with Hermia, Helena says, The more I love, the more he hateth me (Shakespeare 199). Helena
is talking about Demetrius in this instance. She is saying that the more she loves him the more he
hates her. This is the first introduction of the theme that love is crazy. Love is making ... Show more

This is where Oberon sends Puck to put the love potion on Demetrius s eyes. Oberon gives Puck a
very vague description of who he is supposed to put the love potion on. Puck ends up putting the love
potion on Demetrius s and Lysander s eyes. The love potion works where whoever the person sees
first they will fall in love with. Lysander and Demetrius both happen to see Helena first when they
wake up, so they both fall in love with her. Helena thinks they are playing a joke on her and doesn t
believe what they are saying. Hermia comes into the mix and Helena thinks she is joking with her too.
While talking to Hermia, Helena says, Wherefore speaks he this, To her he hates? (Shakespeare 230
231). In this line Helena is saying, Why would he speak to me like this if he hates me? She is referring
to when Demetrius was calling her beautiful and a goddess. This shows how love is crazy, because it
started with Demetrius hating her to now being in love with

Tommy Vladek
According to many different philosophers such as Descartes and Locke there has to be more to the
mind than just the materialistic view. There are many different parts to the brain which make it a
whole according to science, so thinking about the brain from a philosophical standpoint, there must be
different parts to make up the minds identity. According to John Perry, the memories and personality
traits as well as beliefs and intellectual skills make up a personal identity and the body is just a vessel
that holds this identity (TP, 197). Certain people might believe that if one were to get a brain
transplant they would wake up the same person they were before they went in for the surgery. I, on the
other hand concur with Perry and the idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a legal standpoint, Tommy would still be Vladek s son based on physical attributes and his
genetics. It could be argued that he is still Tommy just with a change of parts; it would be like he was
getting a new kidney or a heart with the only downfall being that he developed a physiological change
(TP, 194). Given this perspective Tommy would have to remain with Vladek because he is technically
still legally and genetically his son. The legality of this situation would be especially complicated
because there is hypothetically two boys in one. Although I have to disagree with the legal side
because if the boy were to wake up as Sam it would be traumatizing for him to not only look like
another boy but be torn from his previous home and be forced to live with a stranger. Do you think
that the parents made the right decision not only legally but ethically as

Case on Maggi
Summary
Think about noodles and the first name comes to the mind is: Maggi. At one point of time, it had a
market share of 90%. But, in June 2015, it was reported that tests found high amounts of lead and
MSG in Maggi noodles, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India ordered country wide
withdraw and recall for all the variants of Maggi Instant Noodles and Oats Masala Noodles. What will
Nestlé do to bring Maggi back and gain the trust of the consumers in Maggi, once again?
This case discusses the various phases in the life cycle of Maggi noodles in India. It talks about the
various strategies employed by NIL to keep the Maggi brand fresh in the minds of Indian consumers
and how Maggi can bounce back and take back its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That trust will take a knock, but on balance, the brand has done well enough to deserve a second
chance, if it handles the current crisis with utmost honesty and transparency. NIL, during the tough
time, took the help of social media to keep connected with the consumers. And the reaction and
support by the consumers was overwhelming. People still ask when Maggi will be back and they can
enjoy it all over again. People share a lot of memories with Maggi and in order to relive those
moments, they want Maggi to be back.
All these things confirms the strong consumer loyalty for the Maggi noodles. It will not be very
surprising that Maggi again gained its original market share in a short time once it comes back on the
shelves. The need of the hour is to take the right path to reach the consumers. This will be done by
taking the help of promotions and keeping the consumers connected and updated of the latest
developments in bringing Maggi back to stores.
In 2003, when worms were found in some Cadbury chocolate bars in Maharashtra, the company had
to undertake a high profile marketing campaign, change its outer packaging and provide explanations
to the consumers and the government before its brand perception was restored.
In August, tests performed by the US health regulator FDA showed no presence of dangerous lead
levels in the products.

One of the qualities that a good teacher should possess is to help and ensure that our students develop
skills that will last a lifetime. One way we can do this is to help students develop good organization
and note taking skills. Using graphic organizers is an easy and effective way to deliver information
and demonstrate new techniques to students. Graphic organizers are also great tools that help students
focus on what they are learning and also aid in learning the information.
Because there are so many different types of organizers and a variety of uses for them, the way each

Personal Narrative Of My Life
Personal Narrative One day in mid November, I thought that one of the worst days in my life had
come. I walked into my parent s room, and I found my mother rushing to gather things to go
somewhere. Curiously, I asked my mom where she was going, and why she was in such a rush. My
mom said, Julia was in a bad car accident on the way home from school and is headed to the hospital.
I m going up there to see if there is anything I can do to help. Immediately many questions came to
my mind, but I knew that it would be best to not ask until she was sure of the answers and had more
information. Julia was family to me, but not my blood. I have known her since I was born, and she has
always been around since. Her Aunt is my mother s best friend as well as my Godmother. She has
known Julia s family for over 30 years. I wasn t as close to Julia as I would ve liked to be, but I still
knew her very well. She was only 17 years old and it was her Senior year in high school. Since my
mom is a Pediatric nurse at Baptist, it was no surprise to me that my mom was going there to help. I
told her to update me as soon as she found out anything. After my mom left to go to the hospital, I sat
on the couch anxiously waiting for any information from her. Eventually my mom texted me saying
that she was in critical condition and in a coma. She also said that she had to be on a ventilator and
wasn t responding to anything. With that information, I knew that this was something very serious and

Tropical Rainforest Crisis Research Paper

SO WHAT WE NEED TO DO FIRST IS GRACE COPY AND PASTE THE 1500 WORDS :)))
Why is the tropical rainforest in crisis and what can be done about it?
The tropical rainforest is located all around the world. For example, the Amazon Rainforest, the
Colombian Rainforest and other small rainforests located in Central America. In 1990, rainforests
were plentiful however until 2010, around an eighth of all the rainforests were cut down. The
rainforest is mostly endangered by human interaction and climate change. Forests are undergoing
deforestation and are changed into non productive forests which are forests that are cut in such a way
they produce minimal trees per year. Also, mining usually occurs in the rainforest which causes
erosion on the trees and its growth. Dams can be found in tropical rainforests which causes flooding.
As stated, there are many reasons why the rainforest is under crisis but one of the ... Show more

percent of light reaches the bottom layer. This means that it will slow the growth of those that need

sunlight. The plants that are lush only need so little light like the Dwarf Palm which is approximately

many animals and has the largest amount of insects. Canopy: Second highest layer of the rainforest.
This is the layer that allows only a little sunlight for the Forest Floor and the Understorey. The

Strand At Lough Beg And Mametz Wood
Poets are the record keepers and moral consciences of their times. In response to this view, explore
connections between the ways in which Heaney and Sheers write about memories.
As poets are known to be record keepers memories are a key theme that poets often write about due to
it being a theme with such a wide range. Heaney and Sheers have both written poems about memories.
The two poems that i have chosen to focus on for this essay are Mametz Wood by Owen Sheers and
The Strand at Lough Beg by Seamus Heaney. Both of these poems talk about the memories of death
so they will no doubt share the same themes and ideas throughout. In the poem Mametz Wood by
Owen Sheers we can see that the title of the poem is the name of a place. Mametz Wood is known as
the place where the Battle of the Somme took place in July 1916. This gives us the connotation that
the poem will have themes of war and death throughout. The use of the place name makes people see
that this was a real event that took place. The use of the place name also ... Show more content on

These suggest to me again the idea that death and the fear of death slow everything down and heighten
things around you. These are all things that Colum would have been experiencing in that moment, the
terrifying imagery and sound paint us a picture of the fear that would have coursed through his veins
at that moment. However there is a difference between Sheers and Heaney s poems here, as the
soldiers were together and although they were going into something horrific they were set out to do
that and had a team with them. Colum on the other hand was isolated and had no expectations of being
shot at let alone killed. A key link between these two poems is that both Colum and the soldiers were

Compare and Contrast Essay of Two Neighborhood

Two Neighborhoods
The convenience of living in an urban or suburban neighborhood can be appealing to many people.
Choosing between areas can sometimes be overwhelming for some individual. People are not only
concerned about the safety of a community, but they are also concerned about the environment.
Although some neighborhoods might look attractive, people should consider the expense that comes
with it, and how commuting will affect them in the long run. Nevertheless, both neighborhoods have
their specific advantages and disadvantages. When choosing between an urban or suburban
neighborhood, it is important for people to research the community, the expense, and convenience ...

Another key point is commuting. People who live in the urban community have better access to public
transportation. Citizens can easily get around by walking, taking a bus, and riding the train at a lower
cost. In contrast, owning a home in suburb can be costly for many people. Not only do people have to
keep up with their mortgages, but they sometimes have to pay a yard maintenance fee and their Home
Owners Association (HOA) dues for the up keeping of the neighborhood which can be very costly.
Besides the home cost, people who live in suburban neighborhoods do have the convenience of
traveling in the comfort of their own vehicle, and they do not deal with the concerns of public
transportation. However, they still have to deal with the cost for long commuting and the wear and
tear of the vehicle.
Living in the inner city and suburban neighborhood can be challenging and beneficial for some
individuals, especially for career opportunity. Many people who live in the urban communities have a
better advantage in finding a job of their choice. Most corporations are located in the inner city which
makes it easier for people to find a job. Despite the job opportunities in the inner city, many of these
corporations do not provide parking for their employee which makes it difficult for many individuals.
On the other hand, employment in the suburb is very limited and many of the professional jobs are

A Different View From Just Banning Guns
There have been problems with gun laws in the past. Most of them are ineffective or they never get
passed. Recently, gun laws have been surfacing around the news. President Barack Obama wants to
ban certain guns and attachments, but Obama is taking the wrong approach. Instead of banning guns
outright, which he cannot do because it is our second amendment right to own guns, he should
approach reducing gun violence in a different way. Here is a quote from John Ashman saying that
eliminating certain guns does not stop gun violence: All firearms by nature are deadly, so eliminating
certain kinds of firearms doesn t directly address the issue in any meaningful way (Ashman para. 2).
This is why we need to take a different view from just banning guns. I m here to propose a better bill
that will affect our citizens for a long period of time. This bill will decrease gun violence in the United
States without taking guns out of the equation. Gun laws that are ineffective have had a large impact
on this age. More school shootings and more violence has happened due to the horrible laws in place.
The laws are not stopping any violence at all. Try imagining people getting murdered with guns, the
shooter with total disregard for life. He brutally shoots people many times to release his frustration
upon the world. This is why we need better laws to stop this kind of tragedy from happening. People
can get easy access to guns anywhere in the United States. The problem is that someone

The History Of Western European Religious Landscape
During the 15th and 16th century, Western Europe was a cauldron of mixed ideas and emotions. The
enlightenment and cumulative effort of individuals of that time produced different ideas contributing
to the renaissance or re birth of religious doctrine. Change was instigated by various Italian humanists
or Popes of the era, norther humanists such as Desiderius Erasmus, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Henry
VII, and Queen Elizabeth I were some of the participants that changed the paradigm of Western
European religious landscape. Like the secular despots, popes engaged in war and, when that failed,
diplomacy. They brought artistic riches to the church but also lowered its moral tone by accepting
bribes for church offices and filling positions with kinsmen. But above all, these popes patronized
Renaissance culture. Three of the most aggressive and successful of these popes were Nicholas V. who
founded the Vatican Library. Pius II often considered the most representative of the renaissance popes
because of his interest in Greek and Roman classics he practiced both war and diplomacy with
astounding success and Sixtus IV who came from a powerful family and increased his personal power
through nepotism. Unlike the Italian humanists, the northern humanists were preoccupied with the
condition of the church and the wider Christian world. These northern thinkers researched and studied
both Christian writings and the Greco Roman classics, and their scholarship was meant to further the

Revenge and Vengeance
Revenge More Important than Oedipus Complex in Hamlet
A boy s streak of vengeance is not always merely Oedipal. Hamlet s revenge, and the situations that
spur it, are not based on his love for his mother, but on the need to avenge his father s death. Although
Hamlet is the only one who hears the ghost talk, others experience the sight. This proves that he does
not subconsciously create the hallucination in order to rid his mother of her new lover. Once learning
that his father was murdered, and that no one witnessed his death, Hamlet feels compelled to punish

Although no other character hears the ghost speak, the ghost had a message for Hamlet alone
concerning his father. The ghost informs Hamlet that Old Hamlet has been murdered by Claudius and
did not die a natural death. Upon learning that his father had been killed, Hamlet becomes inclined to
revenge his foul and most unnatural murder (I;v;25). Although he dislikes his uncle for marrying his
mother so quickly after his father s death, saying that Claudius was a little more than kin, and less than

not on Hamlet s feelings towards Claudius new wife.
After learning that his beloved father had been murdered, Hamlet decides to seek revenge against his
uncle. All of Denmark has been led to believe that Old Hamlet died a natural death, and, having
learned that this was not the case, and that the serpent that did sting [Hamlet s] father s life now wears

was jealous of Claudius for marrying his mother so quickly after his father s death, but because he
feels compelled to honour his father, whom he felt was so excellent a king (I;ii;139), and punish his
killer, his uncle, who was no more like my father than [Hamlet] to Hercules (I;ii;152 3). Even before

Taking a Look at Castle Clinton
National Monuments
National monuments were originally designed to protect things that were of historic or scientific
interest. Although now and days we tend to perceive national monuments as part of our countries
heritage; they allow us to display the respect and recognition that we have towards our country and the
individuals who sacrificed a great deal in order for us to live comfortably in this wonderful country.
The antiquities grant of 1906 gave the president the authority to designate national monuments and
since then the president and congress have created more than 100 national monuments. The various
agencies that manage national monuments are the National Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and
Wildlife Service, or BLM.
Castle Clinton formerly known as Castle Garden is a monument that symbolizes America as a country
that welcomes people from all over the world to come for better opportunities. Castle Clinton is
located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island and represents the growth of the city and also the
growth of the country. It was initially built to prevent the British from invading in 1812; Castle
Clinton never saw combat but it did provide a way for the military to have a strategic presence at the

A Report On Flight Training
Abstract
Flight Training Devices or commonly known as simulators, are frequently used in military aviator
training and is an important training tool for safely teaching flying skills in a controlled environment
that is normally too dangerous, or costly to acquire through the use of an actual aircraft. The U.S. Air
Force and Army typically use simulators to safely train new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
operators on critical tasks performed for proficiency and certification without the use of costly flyable
aviation resources. Research has discovered there is a lack of conventional standardized training for
any of the armed services, but an inter service roadmap is planned for combining future training
programs. The researcher will analyze multiple military and civilian aeronautical based articles on the
subjects of simulator use for operator training including Army and Air Force future requirements for
UAVs, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Findings will be clear
regarding the need for cost saving initiatives and standardized UAV training, including the
implications of new FAA regulations. Research will also delve into the fact that inconsistent operator
training is a problem for incorporating different types of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) into the
National Airspace (NAS). It is also determined that future military training will be affected by FAA
research and findings on this subject. Finally, the results will reveal the need for

Erikson and Personal Psychosocial Stage
Renowned psychologist Erik Erikson is best known for his theory of psychosocial stages of
personality development. Unlike Freud, Erikson s theory spans a person s entire lifespan, from
childhood to old age. One of the main elements of Erikson s psychosocial stage theory is the
development of ego identity (Cherry, 2013). Ego Identity is the conscious sense of self that we
develop through social interaction (Cherry, 2013). Erikson believed that our ego identity is constantly
changing due to new experiences and information we acquire in our daily interactions with others
(Cherry, 2013). The stages of Erikson s theory are concerned with becoming competent in an area of
life (Cherry, 2013). Erikson believed that if a stage is handled ... Show more content on

Prison In To Kill A Mockingbird
Prisons are defined as buildings in which people are legally held as a punishment for a crime they
have committed or while awaiting trial. Prisoners are usually convicted of a crime, such as shoplifting

answer lies within Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird. Written by Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
is a novel that was first published in the 1960s during the Civil Rights Movement. Thus, it is logical
that the novel is set in 1930s Maycomb, Alabama, a setting that contains deep rooted racism and social

Latin American Culture
A culture is a porous entity, composed of both tangible and intangible elements. Every country seeks
to possess a culture that is unique unto itself. A culture that is recognized and respected the world over.
But due to the permeability, cultures cannot be solely confined to any one particular territory or
region, any more than they can remain static. They flow and transform across borders and decades,
altering and being altered by the already established culture. One example of this interweaving is the
cultural exchange that occurred between the United States and Argentina during the early to mid

Ageism, By Robert Butler
According to Dittman (2003), A survey of 84 people ages 60 and older, nearly 80 percent of
respondents reported experiencing ageism such as other people assuming they had memory or
physical impairments due to their age. What exactly is ageism? Ageism, termed by Robert Butler in
1969, is a form of discrimination or prejudice based on age. This can be emotionally or physically
abusive for the individual. Elder adults are the majority that receive this kind of abuse. The elder
population is continuously growing as death rates fall. This means that ageism will be a growing
problem in years to come. One example of ageism that you can expect to see is stereotyping. There are
many different stereotypes, which is just one of the forms of discrimination used against elders that
younger people associate with seniors. For example, younger people joke about how slow older
people are in their various activities. Most people consider elders a burden, which is part of what
causes this negative association with them. There are so many ways people can discriminate against
elders, but where does this take place? Ageism in the elder population can take place in employment,
healthcare, and social media. In an American society, almost everything you do is based on

The Rape Laws Against Sex
Beginning in the 10th century, a man who raped a virgin was sentenced to death, and his land and
money were given to the victim (Richards Marcum, 2015, p. 16). However, since times were different,
if the victim decided to marry her attacker, he would ultimately evade the legal repercussion of his
heinous actions. During the 12th and 13th century laws against sex, crimes began to change. The first
law change assisted virgins that were raped. They were able to file a civil suit against the perpetrator.
Therefore, this process would evolve into a trail by a jury. Finally, during the 13th century the criminal
definition of rape changed, yet again due to society changing. This new law stated that the rape of
matrons, nuns, widows, concubines, and prostitutes, as well as the statutory rape of children (Richards

Taking a look at the United States, the rape law here consisted of five elements that must be met
before it was considered rape in a court of law. The act had to be criminal, involve carnal knowledge,
victimize a woman, and be committed using force, and the force has to be against the will of the
victim (Richards Marcum, 2015, p. 17). The United States law had many restrictions that did not
consider rape against spouses. This common law definition of rape was used until the mid 1900 s. It
was not until 1962 when the Model Penal Code established a broader definition of rape. This

Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates
In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air normally inhaled, while
the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In this experiment, a round balloon is utilized
to measure both the tidal volume and the lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible
factors impacting the vital capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an
impact on vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more room
for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled, resulting in increased lung
capacity.
Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position, expansion
Introduction
In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located in the chest cavity
and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia
Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and
out of the lungs can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as
Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be established. Lung capacity
can be measured either using a spirometer (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round
balloon. The amount of air inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult,
tidal volume is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs

John Foster s Celebration Of Discipline
Celebration of Discipline In this chapter of Celebration of Discipline, Foster expands on the idea of
service within Christianity. Toward the beginning of the chapter Foster brings to light what self
righteous service versus true service looks like. Overall self righteous service seeks to please ones self
and desires, not the person they should be serving. Another main point that is brought up is the
relationship between humility and service. Foster says, Service is the most conductive to the growth of
humility. Humility is not something to be focused on, but something that comes when we engage in
true service. The chapter then goes on the list all the different ways to serve including the service of
small things, guarding the reputation of others, common courtesy, hospitality, listening, bearing
burdens, and sharing the word of Life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I listen to pastors preaching in church, but sometimes neglect the everyday conversations through
which God might be trying to communicate with me. I was really able to connect with idea because it
challenged me to be more open to what people have to say about spirituality, because God might have
revealed something to them that I haven t learned yet. Another point that I connected with was when
Foster talks about the service of hospitality. I believe this is something we do in our home and it has
been such a blessing to my family. Our want to be hospitable to people who are traveling or need a
place to stay has been an incredible experience. It was not something we really thought about doing
because it was an act of service, but more of a gifting I believe God has given our family to be able to
make people feel welcome and relaxed in a new

Political Scenario in India
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
India is heading for the 2014 General Election, which will decide which party is going to get the clear
majority in the Parliament. As a part of preparation for the big political battle, all the parties seem to
be ready with their campaigning strategy and issues.
The recently rally by Congress in New Delhi and JD(U) in Patna are the best set example that parties
have already geared up for the battle 2014. There are many issues like corruption, inflation, subsidies
on LPG, and hike in Petrol prices which could put voters in puzzles to decide their right candidates to
send to the Parliament.
The year 2012 was full high voltage political activities, since the beginning of the year the Jan Lokpal
Bill has been in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The national government has the power to dismiss state governments under specific constitutional
clauses or in case no majority party or coalition is able to form a government. The central government
can also impose direct federal rule known as president s rule (or central rule). Locally, the Panchayati
Raj system has several administrative functions and authorities.
For most of the years since independence, the federal government has been guided by the Indian
National Congress (INC). The two largest political parties have been the INC and the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP). Although the two parties have dominated Indian politics, regional parties also exist. From
1950 to 1990, barring two brief periods, the INC enjoyed a parliamentary majority. The INC was out
of power between 1977 and 1980, when the Janata Party won the election due to public discontent
with the corruption (promulgation of Emergency with stringent forces) of Prime Minister Indira
Gandhi. In 1989, a Janata Dal led National Front coalition, in alliance with the Left Front coalition,
won the elections but managed to stay in power for only two years.
Central and State Governments
The central government exercises its broad administrative powers in the name of the President, whose
duties are largely ceremonial. The president and vice president are elected indirectly for 5 year terms
by a special electoral

Dell Computers Case Study
Analysis of the current situation:
The Environment:
Economy State:
Over the decade of 1980 till 1990; the personal computer industry in the United States has grown to a
$40 billion dollar industry fueled by remarkable advancements in the technologies of both storage and
data processing.
However, these breakthroughs have caused this rapid growth to come to an end. As the vast spread of
these technologies made personal computers become a commodity, where customers are looking for
the best bargains in terms of price from mass dealers; rather than looking for professional advice on
what s best for them from a certified computer dealer.
Cultural and Social Values:
Dell believes that maintaining direct and trusty relationships with ... Show more content on

 Compaq:
A clone manufacturer of IBM who entered the market in 1982.
IBM concentrated its efforts on making their personal computers the rightful option for corporations;
which resulted in a rapid increase in the demand that IBM couldn t satisfy.
This was a great opportunity for Compaq to enter the market and prosper using retail dealers to reach
customers. In 1987, Compaq was witnessing tremendous growth in sales which led Compaq to be
recognized as an important player in the personal computer market. And since then it is one of the
firmly established companies in the computer industry. Compaq holds 71% of the branded desktops
used by the fortune 1000 companies (since it s a clone of IBM so naturally they would target the same
segment). And only 19% of the retail personal computers.
In addition to other competitors who imitated Dell in their successful direct distribution strategy such
as Gateway2000 and CompuAdd companies.
Threat of new entrants:
Rapid advancements in technology have created a low entry barrier for new competitors to enter the
market as long as they know how to market their computers.
Threat of substitute products:
There isn t any substitute for personal computers so the threat of substitute products doesn t really
exist.
Bargaining Power of Suppliers:

Francisco De Goya Research Papers
Francisco de Goya y Lucientes was conceived on March 30, 1746, in Fuendetodos, a town in northern
Spain. The child of a guilder, Goya spent the vast majority of his childhood in Saragossa. There he
started considering painting around the age of fourteen. He was an understudy of José Luzán
Martínez. At to begin with, Goya learned by impersonation. He duplicated the works of incredible
experts, discovering motivation in progress of such craftsmen as Diego Rodríguez de Silva y
Velázquez and Rembrandt van Rijn.
Later, Goya moved to Madrid, where he went to work with siblings Francisco and Ramón Bayeu y
Subías in their studio. He looked to further his specialty instruction in 1770 or 1771 by heading out to
Italy. In Rome, Goya concentrated on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At some time between late 1792 and early 1793, a serious illness, whose exact nature is not known,
left Goya deaf, and he became withdrawn. During his recuperation, he undertook a series of
experimental paintings. His experimental art that would encompass paintings, drawings as well as a
bitter series of aquatinted etchings, published in 1799 under the title Caprichos. French forces invaded
Spain in 1808, leading to the Peninsular. Goya s involvement with the court of Joseph I, the brother of
Napoleon Bonaparte, is not known: he did paint works for French patrons, but upon the restoration of
the Spanish king, Ferdinand VII, in 1814, Goya denied any involvement with the intruder. In 1819,
with the idea of isolating himself, he bought a country house by the Manzanares river just outside of
Madrid. It was known as the Quinta del titled after the previous owner and not after Goya himself.
There he created the Black Paintings with intense, haunting themes, reflective of the artist s fear of
insanity, and his outlook on humanity. Several of these, including Saturn Devouring His Son, were
painted directly onto the walls of his dining and sitting rooms. Goya left Spain in May 1824 for
Bordeaux, where he settled, and Paris. He returned to Spain in 1826, but returned to Bordeaux, where
he died in 1828 at the age of

Similarities Between Monty Python And The Holy Grail
The movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a parody of the King Arthur s quest for the Holy grail.
The film mocked what a true noble quest was like and made it seem like a joke. Most importantly,
Monty Python and the Holy Grail satirized the chivalric code and behavior of knights by making them
and their practices look foolish and nonsensical. During the middle ages, a knight was expected to
follow the chivalric code like their life depended on it, because , in reality, it did. The code included
(but was not limited to): fearing God, respecting women, never backing down from a challenge from a
peer, and fighting to the end of anything started (Knights). In the film, the idea of fighting to the end
was mocked when the knight in the forest

  • 2. Water Recycling Reduces Drinking Water Scarcity Essay Water Recycling A Regional Administrator named Felicia Marcus once stated, Water recycling is a critical element for managing our water resources. Her statement symbolizes modern technological ideals to increase the reuse of water. Also known as water reclamation, water recycling is the process of extracting previously used water and treating it for reuse. Currently, modern technologies have allowed the application of recycled water to enter many different areas. Reclaimed water is cleaned and redistributed for land irrigation, to recharge ground water, for industrial applications (cooling the water for power plants and oil refineries), for toilet water, to irrigate golf courses and to create artificial snow. Recycled water not only helps decrease human habitat destruction, it also is considered more effective than natural water for agricultural irrigation. At first, farmers were skeptical of using a previously contaminated water to irrigate their food crops. However, when studied in further detail it was determined that reclaimed water actually contributed to plant growth. The added nutrients in the recycled water improve crop quality and development, without polluting the crops themselves. Farmers and others that use recycled water regularly also appreciate the dependability of receiving the reused water. Use of reclaimed water decreases the chance of future drought and insures farmers a more stable source of water than ever before. In contrast, there are also many problems and questions linked to the reuse of water. Economically, the initial installation to supply recycled water to an area can be expensive, and complicated. Separate pipes and specific labeling is required for all reclaimed water distribution. Another concern in using recycled water is its potential health risks. A study done by three Bay Area scientists was conducted to search for Salmonella, Cyclospora and E. Coli 0157:H7 within water after it had been disinfected in the tertiary stage of recycling. Fortunately the scientists did not find any of the three bacteria within the reclaimed water, further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many different parts to the brain which make it a whole according to science, so thinking about the brain from a philosophical standpoint, there must be different parts to make up the minds identity. According to John Perry, the memories and personality traits as well as beliefs and intellectual skills make up a personal identity and the body is just a vessel that holds this identity (TP, 197). Given this perspective Tommy would have to remain with Vladek because he is technically still legally and genetically his son. The legality of this situation would be especially complicated because there is hypothetically two boys in one. In response to this view, explore connections between the ways in which Heaney and Sheers write about memories. As poets are known to be record keepers memories are a key theme that poets often write about due to it being a theme with such a wide range. Heaney and Sheers have both written poems about memories. The two poems that i have chosen to focus on for this essay are Mametz Wood by Owen Sheers and The Strand at Lough Beg by Seamus Heaney. Both of these poems talk about the memories of death so they will no doubt share the same themes and ideas throughout. In the poem Mametz Wood by Owen Sheers we can see that the title of the poem is the name of a place. Mametz Wood is known as the place where the Battle of the Somme took place in July 1916. Recently, gun laws have been surfacing around the news. President Barack Obama wants to ban certain guns and attachments, but Obama is taking the wrong approach. Instead of banning guns outright, which he cannot do because it is our second amendment right to own guns, he should approach reducing gun violence in a different way. Here is a quote from John Ashman saying that eliminating certain guns does not stop gun violence: All firearms by nature are deadly, so eliminating certain kinds of firearms doesn t directly address the issue in any meaningful way (Ashman para. 2). This is why we need to take a different view from just banning guns. I m here to propose a better bill that will affect our citizens for a long period of time. This bill will decrease gun violence in the United States without taking guns out of the equation. Gun laws that are ineffective have had a large impact on this age. More school shootings and more violence has happened due to the horrible laws in place. The laws are not stopping any violence at all. Try imagining people getting murdered with guns, the shooter with total disregard for life. He brutally shoots people many times to release his frustration upon the world. A Report On Flight Training Abstract Flight Training Devices or commonly known as simulators, are frequently used in military aviator training and is an important training tool for safely teaching flying skills in a controlled environment that is normally too dangerous, or costly to acquire through the use of an actual aircraft. The U.S. Air Force and Army typically use simulators to safely train new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operators on critical tasks performed for proficiency and certification without the use of costly flyable aviation resources. Research has discovered there is a lack of conventional standardized training for any of the armed services, but an inter service roadmap is planned for combining future training programs. The researcher will analyze multiple military and civilian aeronautical based articles on the subjects of simulator use for operator training including Army and Air Force future requirements for UAVs, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Findings will be clear regarding the need for cost saving initiatives and standardized UAV training, including the implications of new FAA regulations. Research will also delve into the fact that inconsistent operator training is a problem for incorporating different types of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) into the National Airspace (NAS). However, since times were different, if the victim decided to marry her attacker, he would ultimately evade the legal repercussion of his heinous actions. During the 12th and 13th century laws against sex, crimes began to change. The first law change assisted virgins that were raped. They were able to file a civil suit against the perpetrator. Therefore, this process would evolve into a trail by a jury. Finally, during the 13th century the criminal definition of rape changed, yet again due to society changing. This new law stated that the rape of matrons, nuns, widows, concubines, and prostitutes, as well as the statutory rape of children (Richards Marcum, 2015, p. 16) was now considered a criminal act. Taking a look at the United States, the rape law here consisted of five elements that must be met before it was considered rape in a court of law. The act had to be criminal, involve carnal knowledge, victimize a woman, and be committed using force, and the force has to be against the will of the victim (Richards Marcum, 2015, p. 17). Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air normally inhaled, while the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In this experiment, a round balloon is utilized to measure both the tidal volume and the lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible factors impacting the vital capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an impact on vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more room for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled, resulting in increased lung capacity. Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position, expansion Introduction In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located in the chest cavity and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and out of the lungs can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be established. Lung capacity can be measured either using a spirometer (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round balloon. The amount of air inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult, tidal volume is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. John Foster s Celebration Of Discipline Celebration of Discipline In this chapter of Celebration of Discipline, Foster expands on the idea of service within Christianity. Toward the beginning of the chapter Foster brings to light what self righteous service versus true service looks like. Overall self righteous service seeks to please ones self and desires, not the person they should be serving. Another main point that is brought up is the relationship between humility and service. Foster says, Service is the most conductive to the growth of humility. Humility is not something to be focused on, but something that comes when we engage in true service. The chapter then goes on the list all the different ways to serve including the service of small things, guarding the reputation of others, common courtesy, hospitality, listening, bearing burdens, and sharing the word of Life. ... I was really able to connect with idea because it challenged me to be more open to what people have to say about spirituality, because God might have revealed something to them that I haven t learned yet. Another point that I connected with was when Foster talks about the service of hospitality. I believe this is something we do in our home and it has been such a blessing to my family. Our want to be hospitable to people who are traveling or need a place to stay has been an incredible experience. It was not something we really thought about doing because it was an act of service, but more of a gifting I believe God has given our family to be able to make people feel welcome and relaxed in a new ... There are many issues like corruption, inflation, subsidies on LPG, and hike in Petrol prices which could put voters in puzzles to decide their right candidates to send to the Parliament. The national government has the power to dismiss state governments under specific constitutional clauses or in case no majority party or coalition is able to form a government. The central government can also impose direct federal rule known as president s rule (or central rule). Locally, the Panchayati Raj system has several administrative functions and authorities. For most of the years since independence, the federal government has been guided by the Indian National Congress (INC). The two largest political parties have been the INC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Although the two parties have dominated Indian politics, regional parties also exist. From 1950 to 1990, barring two brief periods, the INC enjoyed a parliamentary majority. The INC was out of power between 1977 and 1980, when the Janata Party won the election due to public discontent with the corruption (promulgation of Emergency with stringent forces) of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In 1989, a Janata Dal led National Front coalition, in alliance with the Left Front coalition, won the elections but managed to stay in power for only two years. • 46. Similarities Between Monty Python And The Holy Grail The movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a parody of the King Arthur s quest for the Holy grail. The film mocked what a true noble quest was like and made it seem like a joke. Most importantly, Monty Python and the Holy Grail satirized the chivalric code and behavior of knights by making them and their practices look foolish and nonsensical. During the middle ages, a knight was expected to follow the chivalric code like their life depended on it, because , in reality, it did. The code included (but was not limited to): fearing God, respecting women, never backing down from a challenge from a peer, and fighting to the end of anything started (Knights). In the film, the idea of fighting to the end was mocked when the knight in the forest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
