How I Spent My Summer Vacation Essay For
Kids
Writing an essay on the topic "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" for kids might seem like a
straightforward task, but it comes with its own set of challenges. Crafting a compelling narrative
that engages young readers while effectively conveying the experiences of a summer break
requires a delicate balance of creativity and simplicity.
Firstly, it demands the ability to vividly describe the various activities and adventures
undertaken during the vacation. This involves not just listing events chronologically but infusing
the narrative with descriptive language to make the account more appealing to a younger
audience. Striking the right tone to maintain the interest of children, while also ensuring clarity,
is no small feat.
Moreover, the challenge lies in capturing the essence of the vacation in a way that resonates with
the target audience. It's not merely about detailing activities but also about conveying the
emotions, lessons learned, and the overall impact of the experiences. Balancing entertainment
with subtle educational elements is crucial, making the essay both enjoyable and meaningful for
young readers.
Furthermore, the essay must be structured logically, with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Transitioning between different aspects of the vacation smoothly and ensuring a cohesive flow
adds another layer of difficulty. Ensuring that the language and vocabulary used are suitable for
a young audience while still maintaining a sense of narrative sophistication is a delicate task.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" for kids requires a
nuanced approach. It is not just about narrating events but also about engaging the reader,
evoking emotions, and conveying the significance of the experiences. The complexity lies in
combining creativity, simplicity, and educational elements to produce a well-rounded and
enjoyable piece for young minds.

Code Of Ethics And Ethics
It is essential for the organization to have a strong code of ethics to ensure all
employees understand the ethical expectations of the organization. The code acts as a
guide for employees to ensure they apply ethical decision making in the workplace.
As the manager you will play an essential role in disseminating this information to
employees as well as ensuring they are in compliance with the code. Employees must
understand the consequences of failing to uphold the code and the importance of
reporting ethical failures. To ensure your complete understanding of the importance
of the ethical codeI have selected a code of ethicsfrom three different organizations.
These examples are a good guide for the code that will be established for the
organization. The first example is the code of ethics established by the Society of
Professional Journalists. This code upholds justice and supports a democratic
process which would be beneficial to any American organization. The code of ethics
establishes the abiding principles for all members of the organization. This includes
ensuring the free exchange of information that is accurate, fair, and only seek to tell
the truth (SPJ, 2014). If all employee seek truth it will support the creation of a
moral and ethical work culture. By requiring journalist to take responsibility and
accountability for being accurate it creates values. These values can support the goals
of any organization. This ethical code also requires

The DNA found on the crime scene matches the one from suspect 3 through same

shows that two samples of DNA have identical restriction sites that produced
identical patterns. When also calculating the number of base pairs of all samples, we
find that there is a 97.76% match with Suspect 3 s DNA with the crime scene DNA ...

Reaction to Everyday Use Everyday Use is a short story written by Alice Walker
about a family of three, Mama, the narrator, Maggie her youngest daughter, and
Dee, her eldest daughter. Both daughters are completely different, Maggie is a
simpler person and Dee is high maintenance. Dee has always the home she was
brought up in and everything to do with her childhood. She always wanted more and
Mama gave her the best she could. One day, years after Dee has ... Show more content

would like to use the quilts as pieces of artwork for her own home because it is
something that would be stylish and argues with her mother that Maggie would be
backward enough to put them to everyday use. Dee says this as if it were a bad
thing to use the quilts as they were intended to be used but Mama believes that the
everyday use, is the best way to value the past, to keep the spirit of the family going
and not putting the items up for display as if they were in a museum or separating
oneself from his or her family. This is something that I can identify with. When I
was younger my great grandmother had always crocheted afghans for each of her
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. My cousins had when we were
little looked down at these beautiful afghans and wanted instead store bought
blankets. I treasured the afghan that my great grandmother had made me and used
it often. When we were older, and she had passed away, my one cousin was going
through a phase similar to Dee s, she was suddenly very interested in our family
history, and she now wanted the last afghan that my great grandmother made. She
ended up being the one to receive the afghan because I did not feel like fighting
over it. I did not want to receive it with a fight because I knew that it would tarnish
the meaning for me but I always
Cedaw Women s Rights
Although many places in the world have made many advancements in granting
women rights equivalent to those of men, there are still far too many places that
refuse to recognize that women s rights is still an issue, and an important one at that.
Many developing countries in the world have caused outrage in the population of
women as a whole and rifts in society and its social order. Worldwide, people are
done with the fact that women are still not treated as equals. Although advancements
have been made for the population of women globally in places like the US, Canada,
and many parts of Europe; many developing countries throughout the world have
refrained from allowing women equal opportunity politically, economically, and

In the U.S. women make up almost half of the work force and 40% of women are
the bread winner of the family; yet, they still make 79 cents to every mans dollar.
This is a gender wage gap of 21% and occurs in virtually every single occupation
that offers a sufficient amount of earnings for the year. According to the World
Economic Forum there is no country in the world where a women earns equally as
much as a man and it will take over 50 years for that to even progress. Women in
the work force in Italy and Israel don t even make half as much as men do;
however, one of the poorest countries in the world, Burundi, is the closest in women

What Is The Theme Of My Last Duchess By Robert
Browning
The thesis I choose is love. In our course book, I choose My last duchess , by
Robert browning, Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare, and If by Rudyard Kipling.
My poem from outside is Longing by Matthew Arnold, Life in a love by Robert
browning, and Love and a question by Robert Frost. My Last Duchess, is
absolutely Browning s most famous dramatic monologue, with some good reason.
It engages the reader on a number of levels historical, psychological, ironic,
theatrical, and more. The most engaging element of the poem is probably the
speaker himself, the duke. It is easy to identify him as a freak like monster, since
he had his wife murdered for what comes across as fairly not purposed crimes. And
yet he is charming, both in his use of language and his affable address. The ironic
disconnect that colors most of Browning s monologues is particularly strong here. In
fact, the duke s excessive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator longs to be well during the day when he is without his love, he longs to
be comforted by her, he longs for her to show love to those she is with now, and he
longs to see her once again. It uses rhythm and rhyme. Each stanza consists of two
lines, which rhyme with each other: this is part of the rhythm and structure. The
rhythm has an emphasis on the end word of each line because it s the one that
rhymes. The narrator or voice of this poem is Matthew Arnold himself. He lost
three of his children and possibly other people he loved in his life, which this
poem could be addressing. It is unclear, as it is never stated however. The tone of
this poem is hopeful. It displays his emotions in a way that brings hope to his
depressed condition. The mood is slightly pitiful. The reader feels pity for the
narrator and also wishes he could be with her to please him and ease the pain that he
is clearly suffering without her. The poem almost gives the reader a longing for her as

Boeing Australia Limited Executive Summary My decision is to continue on the
same course that Boeing Australia Limited (BAL) is on. I feel, after reading this
case study that BAL has been on the correct path with regard to building their
systems architecture. There is a need for a more sophisticated procurement process
and the issue of a procurement application may be easily found. The key is the
process by which BAL has implemented all other IT applications, they have been
very successful. They are thorough and have processes in place to rationalize
whether a new by in application or an in house developed program would be best.
My thought is that at least one, if not more; of the current systems have an

There would be a learning curve and possible displacement of staff to new
positions and or layoffs. The view may be that they are effective and they will not
understand the need for a streamlined process. The job of management will be to
proceed with caution to ensure that the knowledge base and people who have the
historical knowledge of the department are not alienated or lost. They are an
important piece of the puzzle and their experience will be critical to deciding
which system or processes are valuable. The selection of a new or add on program
is contingent on budgetary requirements. How much money would have to be laid
out for training of staff or does the knowledge already exist in the IT department.
BAL is a small company with 400 employees. The budget that would be required to
purchase a new software package could seriously outweigh the need. I believe that
a procurement program will be found within the legacy programs that are in use at
BAL. Specifically within the ERP program already being used, Compass Contracts.
There appears to be a procurement module already included and perhaps the
expansion module would suffice for BAL s current needs. BAL already has the
interfaces for this program and it is a natural progression for an existing system.
Existing program will cost
Taking a Look at the Cold War
Prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and United State s involvement in World War II,
we remained an isolationist country. Once World War II ended, the United States left
isolationism behind and began a quest to abolish communism during the Cold War,
involving many nations. Although the success of the containment policy in South
America and Asia was not identical, each were beneficial in decreasing communism
during the Cold War. Throughout the Cold War, communistic governments were
rising all over the world. In South American and Asia, blood was shed by those on
both sides of communistic views. Attempts were made on the lives of non
communistic leaders, some which did succeed, in an attempt by the communistic to
take over a countries government. With the help of neighboring countries; the United
Statesaided South America and Asian countries were supported by neighboring Asian
countries; most protestors were able to overthrow their communist governments and
gain their county back. In 1979, thick communism was brewing for the United State
s neighbor, Central America. A leftist group, called Sandinistas, had overthrown the
long reigned dictator of Nicaragua. Carter was president at the time and had turned a
blind eye to the event in order for a good relationship to remain between the United
States and the new Nicaraguan government. President Reagan, however, was not so
sycophant and accused the Sandinistas of recreating Nicaragua to be a military base
for communistic forces

The Effects Of Malaria On African Continent And Is...
Malaria is a life threatening disease that is caused by plasmodium parasites
transmitted from female mosquitos when they bite a human. The plasmodium
parasite can also be transmitted by blood products like unclean needles or
unscreened blood. There are five parasite species (Plasmodium, falciparum, P. vivax,
P. ovale, and P. malariae) that cause malaria
in humans, and two of these species, P.
falciparum and P. vivax, are the greatest threat (see Figure 1). The severity of malaria
is based on the species of plasmodium. The symptoms people experience include
chills, fever, and sweating usually occurring within a few weeks after being bitten.
In the United States, it is a very rare disease with fewer than 20,000 cases per year,
and is treatable by a medical professional. However, Sub Saharan Africa is home to
88% of malaria cases and 90% of malaria deaths. P. falciparum is the most prevalent
parasite on the African continent and is responsible for most malaria related deaths
globally. P. vivax is more widely distributed than P. falciparum and predominates in
most countries outside of Africa. In the 1970s and 1980s, resistance of P. falciparum
started in medicines, such as chloroquine and sulfadoxine pyrimethamine (SP). Drug
resistance has been implicated in the spread of malaria to new areas and re
emergence of malaria in areas where the disease had been eradicated. Population
movement has introduced resistant parasites to areas previously free of drug
resistance. Resistance is

Nintendo s Influence On The Video Game Market Essay
In 1985, Nintendo launched what would become one of its most successful games
in all of video gaming history. Super Mario Brothers; released for the Nintendo NES,
became on of the best selling games in the world, and put Nintendo on the map as the
Grandfather of Modern Video Gaming (Nintendo, 2016). Nintendohas seen a dozen
of its products dominate the market from the Gameboy to the Wii, the company s
products are iconic and unique to the industry and are easily accessible worldwide.
Despite Nintendo s stronghold on the video game market, the company has done
more than put games out on the market over the last decade, Nintendo has inspired
millions of amateur developers and gamers to leave their home countries and flock
to Japan in hopes of starting a career with big name Japanese gaming companies. For

foreign company, I will then devise a cultural adaptation plan that will address
cultural adaptations in order to ensure success not only with the company, but with
transitioning and adjusting to the cultureas well. Before delving into the cultural
dimensions of this report, it would be helpful to look at the Japanese workplace as a

The Invention Of The Braille Alphabet
Most ideas take off with great aspirations, great faith and support but only result in
disappointment. Then there s those few and far between ideas that leave marks in
history and prove themselves successful something that will change the world.
Braille is one of those rare inventions. It is a written form of language that allows the
blind and visually impaired to be literate. The invention of the BrailleAlphabet had a
significant impact on world by allowing the blind and visually impaired to act
competitively and successfully in society, making buildings more accessible for all
people, and also reducing the number of homeless. Its invention has impacted society
in such way that must be noted.
Louis Braille is the man who invented Braille. He was born in Coupvray, France on
January 4, 1809. He was born sighted, but at the age of three he became fully blind.
His blindness was the aftermath of playing with a sharp tool in his father s
workshop (who had been the local harness maker), where he injured himself.
Although his parents, Simon RenГ© Braille and Monique Braille, provided him
with the best care available, the early 1800 s lack of medical advancement proved
itself true. His injury created an infection in his one eye, and soon lead to the other,
leaving him completely blind. Prior to attending a school specifically for the blind,
Louis was an eager student at a public school, learning solely through listening. Later,
at the age of 16, Louis attended Royal Institute for

concentrates on a particular community full of Sicilian immigrants. This community
has responsibilities towards one another, they look out for each other, but soon a
character s betrayal casts a shadow on the rest of the community, the same character
that is led by fate towards a destiny that cannot be escaped.

This tells us that Eddie wants to face up to Marco, that he s not afraid of him, even
though we found out that Marco is stronger than Eddie in the past scenes.
Just before Marco comes in, Beatrice plays an interesting role. Miller uses her
character to make the tension, by her trying to get Eddie to calm down and to play
the peacemaker, but the main role she plays in this scene is that what she tries to
get out of Eddie. She comments on how Eddie wants something. Eddie yells that
Marco s got my name , but Beatrice realises that Eddie wants something else. The
tension breaks out when Beatrice yells to Eddie, you can never have her! This is
what Eddie really wanted, Catherine, to be his and not anyone else s, including
Rodolfo, even though she id his niece. The way Eddie is shocked, horrified and has
his fists clenching , shows that he is angry with Beatrice for saying that. At this point,
the audience are shocked and worried to how Eddie will react to this.
As Marco enters calling for Eddie, we can feel the tension mount up, because when
Marco calls out for Eddie, all characters stand transfixed for an instant , as if they
don t know how to react to this. But as the characters realise what is going on, Eddie
emerges from the apartment to get back his name and show the neighbourhood what

Immunodiagnostic tests are relatively simple to use, inexpensive and easy to

A new rapid test that overcomes many of the current operational difficulties was
recommended for use by WHO in December 2010: the Xpert MTB/RIF assay

A workshop will be developed to focus on prevention burnout among mental health
workers by implementing mindfulness. Studies have found that mental health
workers have a high risk of developing burnout, which impacts the client s quality of

caseloads, monthly productivity demands, policies, administrative responsibilities,
and low wages (Franco, 2015). The process of burnoutinvolves failure, wearing out,
exhaustion due to high demands on the workers resources, energy, and strengthens

Runaway Juveniles Are Not A Serious Problem
National surveys suggested that 6% 7% of adolescents run away from home in the
United States (Sanchez, Waller, Greene, 2006; Tyler Bersani, 2008). Most
runaways rarely stay away from home for long periods and stay within 50 miles of
home (Hammer, Finkelhor, Sedlak, 2002). Although runaway juveniles are not a
serious problem (Kim, 2006) and eventually return to parents or guardian (Milburn
et al., 2007), they are victimized and exposed in deteriorate circumstances while
away. There were many problems for runaway juveniles, in spite of returning after a
short period of time, such as increasing their likelihood of engaging in high risk
behavior, being exploited or victimized by others, and resorting to illicit activities
(Chen, Thrane, Whitbeck, Johnson, Hoyt, 2007; Kipke, Simon, Montgomey, Unger,
Iversen, 1997; Wagner, Carlin, Cauce, Tenner, 2001). However, few researchers
explained the reason of why adolescents run away from home (Andres Lemay,
Jamieson, MacMillan, 2005; National Runaway Switchboard, 2008; Safyer,
Thompson, Maccio, Zittel Palamara, Forehand, 2004; Van der Ploeg Scholte, 1997;
Welsh, 1995). They claimed that the most common reason is negative family
environment. Safyer et al. (2004) found that 41% of the adolescentsattributed their
runaway behavior to a poor relationship dynamic with their parents. Poor parenting
practices and physical abuse increase the likelihood that a child will run away

Detroit Urban redevelopment Essay
DETROIT, known as the Automotive Capital of the World, is the largest city in the
state of Michigan. The city sits at the heart of an official three county metropolitan
region comprising Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
As we look at the current condition of Detroit Michigan, you would ponder what
made the city look so ran down and why did everyone abandoned a once known as a
beautiful city. If one were to look at older pictures of the city back in its earlier
years they wouldn t be able to tell that the city used to have life with in it. Detroit was
founded on 24 July 1701, by Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, a French military officer
and explorer, as a base to block British expansion. The permanent outpost system did

It was then that the city started to regain its vivacity. Then others decided they too
could build cars, thus giving the city the nick name of the motor city . If one were
to look at the current conditions of Detroit compared to the way it was a hundred
years ago one may question how could a city be so full of decay and emptiness.
Before one could answer that question they have to really look deep within the
history of Detroit and the reasoning for so many buildings. When Henry Ford
decided to make the horseless carriage it became an evolution which spun into the
first automobile the model T. As ford was the originator and the first to offer five
dollars per day. It wasn t long afterwards that other manufacturers like General
Motors came along. As mentioned on Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, one of
the largest buildings built for the automotive era was the Packard Plant which
closed its doors in 1956 at one time employed 33,000. It is now one of the 80,000
abandoned buildings in Detroit. The factory is over a mile long and has one of the
best views of the city (Bourdain). Charles La Duff a guest on the television show a
long time resident clearly points out that Detroit was built on wealth from the whites,
as they moved to the suburbs so did their money. The middle class blacks moved in
and made it their own until it became too rough for them to survive and
Railroad Workers Case Study
Railroad Workers Resolution
1. What is important to your client?(Howard Reinbold)
The pe would get to use the railroad to get to places like a market or another
homestead. Your family could visit you and vice versa. We connect the two coasts,
farmers to stores and ranchers to Chicago. We also connect towns and states
together and make it safer and quicker to travel west or back east. Think about it,
would you rather spend weeks or months exposed to the ruthless weather trying to
get to your homestead, or would you get there in a few days riding in a railroad car
that protects you from the weather? The railroad workers will ship things to you so
you can receive the things you need as quick as possible! We bring people to the
west such as merchants, suppliers, homesteaders, fur trappers, miners, bankers, and
basically anyone going west. We will also ship your crops or cattle to where they
need to go. For example, the Cowboys get your cattle to Kansas, and they ll take the
cattle to Chicago. This is what is important to our clients, the railroad workers.
2. Why do we need Colorado and Wyoming?
Our client, the railroad workers think that Colorado and Wyoming are going to be
beneficial because if we use that land, we can just build straight on over to
Promontory, Utah instead of going all the way around. We could cut straight
through to Utah if we had that land. Once we do this, people will have easier access
to the West, so it s a win win situation. Giving people access to the
Negative Impact On Aging
America is aging. By 2033, people aged 65 and above who comprise 14.5 percent
of the US population in 2014 will more than double by 2060. However, as early as
2033, they will outnumber people younger than 18 for the first time in the country s
history.
However, the images celebrated in popular culture are almost all youthful, The Town
Talk observed in an opinion piece. The op ed explained it to people seeing youth as
beautiful and being old as something less desirable.
Changing the stereotype
The website pushed to change that stereotype because, in reality, America is aging. It
laments the perception that old age is not ideal because only the lucky ones get old.
People who reach that age have lived and gained wisdom, while their collective
knowledge must be cultivated, appreciated, and used.
But because of the deep bias against aging, most people view their own aging as
something to fight, deny, or dislike. At a recent National Academies of Science
Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence, Becca Levy, a professor at Yale
University, shared a 2016 study.
The research had a positive subliminal message about aging shown to older adults in
15 minute weekly sessions. Levy shared that after one month, all the seniors showed
improved mobility and balance.
When people see aging solely about deterioration and loss, it becomes a self fulfilling
prophecy, a report by Kaiser Health News, said. The tendency is for people who have
that point of view tend to walk slower and

August 12th/2015
Amongst the most important documents in Canadian politics, the Charter of Rights
is always near the top. The establishment of this document was spearheaded by Pierre
Trudeau, it is the embodiment of a society that Pierre Trudeau wanted in a
document. The Charter of Rights had many effects, from giving the people a list
of freedoms that they continue to enjoy on a daily basis to the ability of the
government to take them away, given the right circumstances. While the list of
effects is long, what this paper is going to focus on can be split into two categories.
First and probably most critical is the change in roles of the judicial branch.
Specifically, how the increase in their power as affected Canadian politics. Second
area of discussion is Section 33 and 27. They are going to be analyzed in their
influence on politics and future policies.
The first point of discussion is about the court s role. Since the Charter, countless
discussions about the court s responsibilities have occurred. Regardless of whether it
is benefitting Canada or not, it is undeniable that Canada has experienced the
judicializing of its government . The effect of having the some of the power of
Parliament shifted into the hands of the Judiciary. Previously, the judicial branch s
duty is to deal punishments to those who break the law. It was up to
The History of the Chicago Skyway
The history of the Chicago Skyway began in 1928, when the City Council of Chicago
motivated by the desire to strengthen connections between the city and the country s
Midwestern industrial base requested a study for an elevated roadway to be
constructed above the Pennsylvania Rail Road s right of way. Although this proposal
did not ultimately come to fruition, the planning set the stage on which the roadwould
be built adjacent to this railroad. Concurrently, the ChicagoPlan Commission had
begun researching a southern extension of Lake Shore Drive beyond Jackson Park
as a means to connect the city with Indiana. This study resulted in two possibilities
for extending the roadway. The first possibility was to extend Lake Shore Drive
along Stony Island Avenueto the Pennsylvania Railroad Right of way where it
would proceed in the same manner as proposed in the 1928 plan; the second
possibility was to simply extend the roadway along lake fill to Rainbow Beach Park,
where it would then merge onto South Commercial Avenue which would carry it to
Indiana Avenue.
A subsequent study in 1939 championed the Stony Island Avenue plan; however, the
project was ultimately shelved because Lake Shore Drive does not permit commercial
traffic, and because the roadway fell under the jurisdiction of the Parks Department
which lacked a mechanism to finance infrastructure investment. Due to these
constraints, the City decided to drop its roadway connection plan in 1945.
The project was revitalized

Great Expectations The Growth of Pip in Society When Joe visits Pip in London,
he stays with him at Mr. Jaggers house. Pip says that he had little objection to his

being seen by Drummle (218). This shows that after time had past without Joe, Pip
has become self conscious of him and does not want his friends to meet him, afraid
that they might think less of him. Since Pip has made such good friends with
everyone in his quest to becoming a gentleman, he is afraid of what they might

teens. The first time that Pip actually got to have any kind of a social life was
when he went to London to become a gentleman. Even though Mrs. Joe did not

her speech. Thereafter her temper was greatly improved, and she was patient (122)

Herbert first met at Miss Havisham s house, where Herbert launches into a fist fight

In The Time Of The Butterflies And Antigone
In the Time of the Butterflies Essay
The novel In the Time of the Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez and the play Antigone by
Sophocles, both include similar characters, situations, and actions that react to the
idea of a dangerous growing authority. The characters Dede from the Time of the
Butterflies and Ismene from Antigone both strive to stay out of trouble with the
government; however Dede s approach is more effective as she becomes an oracle
character by the end of the novel, for she lives to tell the story of the Mirabal sisters.
Dede uses her relationship with her sisters and her own family to survive through the
dangerous reign of Trujillo. When facing a regime such as Trujillo s regime, the
survivors who live to tell their story, like Dede, are crucial to understanding and
analyzing important historical moments. These survivors live through real tragedies,
so they are primary resources with personal opinions and experiences.
To begin, Dede s ability to support and stay in contact with her sisters without
getting too involved with the dangers of the government allow her to stay safe, as
well as tell accurate stories from the time of Trujillo s reign. Through all the
struggles her sisters undergo, Dede still supports and cares for them. Even after
her sisters are freed from jail, Dede still finds herself in the habit of staying over the
nights before our visits. She said she had to be at Mama s early the next day anyhow

The Kite Runner Character Analysis
In the book The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini writes about the life of a boy in
Afghanistan named Amir. Throughout the book Amir experiences unfortunate
events that causes the reader to question whether he is a moral person. Driven by
his guilt, he longs to redeem himself leading him to do selfish things. Although
Amir may begin a self centered person he is still a good person. Amir always feels
regretful when hurting others and also soothes people when he recognizes they
are upset. Whenever Amir does something bad he feels guilty and needs to make
up for it. One of the most prominent examples of this, in the book, is the scene
where Amir and Hassan are at the pomegranate tree. I hit him with another
pomegranate, in the shoulder this time. The juice splattered on his face. Hit me
back! I spat (92). This quote shows that Amir wants Hassan to hurt him, for not
defending Hassan from Assef in the alley. Amir feels blameworthy and needs to be
hurt back to redeem himself. The week after Amir didn t stand up for Hassan in
the alley you can see his immense amount of regret. An hour later, I still couldn t
sleep. I kept tossing and turning as my relatives grunted sighed and snored in their
sleep,... I understood the nature of my new curse: I was going to get away with it
(86). This quote shows that he is so upset with himself that it makes him restless.
Just the thought of knowing what s he s done and living with himself is
distressing. Later in the book, when Amir is an adult, he returns to Kabul to save
Sohrab, Hassan s son. He must fight Assef and win to be able to rescue Sohrab.
What was so funny was that, for the first time since the winter of 1975, I felt peace.
I laughed because I saw that, in some hidden nook in a corner of my mind, I d even
been looking forward to this... My body was broken just how badly I wouldn t find
out until later but I felt healed. Healed at last (289). This quote shows that as Assef is
beating Amir, it makes him feel like he s finally getting what he deserves for running
instead of fighting Assef. Similarly, when Amir isn t focusing on benefiting himself,
he has the ability to comfort others and recognize when others are upset. At the very
beginning of The Kite Runner Amir and

culinary and business, with the former being slightly more interesting due to the

combines aspects of business with the culinary arts, making it an attractive option for
someone like me.
So what does a food service manager do? In short, they manage the entire restaurant.
Typical obligations include employee management, food/supply procurement,
equipment inspection, financial record keeping, and complaint address. Other
duties including overseeing food preparation, scheduling, and establishing
personnel and customer service standards also fall on a food service manager. To

growth elevates the demand for various places to dine out. Advancement in the
field is also possible, as an individual gains more experience, they have a greater
likelihood of being employed at an upscale restaurant. However, in an effort to save
costs, many of these establishments will hire less employees as time goes on, and
consequently fewer food service managers.
So how will culinary help me advance my career goals? Taking the shop will
provide me with a valuable introduction to restaurant basics. With the skills I learn I
will then be able to get hired in a restaraunt, and accumulate work experience before
eventually becoming a food service manager. And if I can successfully become a
food service manager, I will have a career that combines both my interest in the

The Protestant Information
The protestant information is one of the most significant historical heritages the
religious community value. The event of this transformation was violent and
interesting at the same time. Religious institutions that exist today are the result of
the war and transformation of people s ideology. The history and the reason behind
the formation are well documented and analyzed based on the events. The
explanation behind the reformation is detailed and expansive enough to provide the
reader a wider perspective on the origins of Christian churches. People can now
understand how their ancestors have transformed their world today and their
religious believes. Also the inspiration of the reformation is well noted and the
ideology of the European people was taken into consideration. The article outlines

THE HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY
In order to understand the protestant reformation, it is important to recap the history
in details and get a good grasp of the protest. The Catholic Church was once the
only church that exists in Western Europe. Led by the pope in Rome, the church
was mostly considered a governing body for the country and priests were the
authorities. The church was mostly engaged in political and spiritual affairs of the
country and the pope was viewed like a king of England. The pope, at that time, was

The Eucharist according to Catechism of the Catholic Church
The Eucharist is one of the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic faith. For some it is the
most important sacrament of the faith. What is the Catechism of the Catholic
Church? What does it say about the Eucharist? This is what will be discussed during
this paper.
To start off the answering the first question, the Catechism is a according to the

Argumentative Essay On Halloween Costumes
In recent years, Halloween costumes have created controversy because they touch on
the issue of cultural appropriation. Children are simply not aware of how their
costumes can unwittingly offend certain cultures or ethnic groups, and parents are
also often unsure as to which costume ideas qualify as culturally respectful . In the
LA Times opinion editorial, On Halloween, parents have no choice but to wade into
fraught cultural politics, Oppenheimer argues that picking a Halloween costumeis a
challenging task with many grey areas as to what is considered offensive to various
religious or ethnic groups who are often the inspiration behind Halloween costumes.
He asserts that all individuals should take care to avoid culturally appropriating, but
that there are also grey areas in costumechoice where appropriation isn t as clearly
defined. In order to illustrate the nuanced challenge of picking costumes,
Oppenheimer utilizes an anecdote to show how societal values have changed
within his lifetime. He shares, When I was 10, I was in love with a musical
theater; if you d forced me to dress up for Halloween, I might have been chosen a
character from Dreamgirls, a play about African Americans (Oppenheimer 3). It is
evident that he was not aware of what was socially acceptable in society being that
he was merely 10 years old. Considering that much time has passed, by reflecting
back to his past self, he is able to realize that dressing this way could have touched
many sensitive areas of cultural appropriating a race. As there are no specific set of
standards established in society, individuals follow and adhere to what is presented
in front of them. It is utterly challenging for all individuals to identify what is
permitted in society despite the diversity in ethnic groups and age. While the youths
are struggling to find the perfect balance to avoid cultural appropriating a group, it is
also difficult for adults to distinguish the difference. To advise the individuals in
recognizing the difference in regards to the significance of certain Halloween
costumes, Oppenheimer utilizes an appeal to authority with an Yale scholar and
former preschool teacher, Erika Christakis. It is ideal that, ...when it comes to the

`` Garnering The Youth Vote, By Terry Ryan
Another key overlap in these campaigns has to do with trust. According to a 1972
article written by Terry Ryan of The Associated Press, entitled Garnering the Youth
Vote is Critical to McGovern Success, when interviewed, young people expressed
the importance of trust and a desire for change, The interviews disclosed some pro
McGovern attitudes widely held among young people. A desire for change was
mentioned by many supporters...Young people will vote for McGovern because
they do not like or trust Nixon and think McGovern is more sincere and honest
(Ryan, 1972). This desire for a change away from the status quo existed during the
McGovern campaign and exists today with the Sanders campaign. While Hillary
Clinton speaks of patience and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sanders movement can also be compared to the earlier time period and
McGovern s campaign from an economic standpoint. In 1968, following Martin
Luther King s death, The Poor Peoples Campaign led the Poor People s March on
Washington. This multiracial campaign demanded economic justice for all
Americans (Willis, 2015). This is not surprising given that estimates from the 1960
U.S. Census Bureau, suggested that, despite President Lyndon Johnson s War on
Poverty, anywhere from 40 to 60 million Americans, as much as 33 percent, lived
below the poverty line (U.S. Census Bureau, 1960). McGovern advocated for
widespread economic reforms to try to reduce poverty and inequality and ensure a
higher quality of life in the United States. Some of his progressive positions included
a guaranteed job for all Americans and a guaranteed family income above the
poverty line (Vittoria, One Bright Shining Moment). Sanders also advocates for the
creation of a more fair and equal economic system with higher wages and greater
employment. One of Sanders main points is increasing the minimum wage to what
he calls a living wage of $15. He frequently discusses the need to create more jobs for
Americans and also the economic inequality in America today and how the wealthiest
Americans, the 1 percent as he calls them, have been getting richer while the rest of
Americans, and the middle
The Rise of American Imperialism Essay
The Rise of American Imperialism
The idea of American Imperialism had both its advocates and its critics. One only
needs to look at a map to see which side won. America has greatly expanded since its
own phase as a colony of the greatest European Empire of the time. America became
her own Empire through the accusation of vast territories through many different
mean. Sometimes she purchases the mighty morsel, sometimes she forms it #8230;
by the natural increase of her own people, sometimes she annexes, and sometimes she
conquers it ( Manifest ).
The rise of American Empire received support because in many ways it seemed a
proper product of past American history and tradition (Healy 47). Several American
ideals such as: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are unfit even for themselves and need our direction and government. Without
a sense of equality between them and us, we can do anything without a sense of
guilt and, in fact, must do everything. According to American, races as well as
individuals must follow Social Darwinism s laws of survival of the fittest (Brinkley,
606). American imperialism also possessed the solution to several arising problems
in that time (Healy 34). America desired to keep up with the imperialist fever that
was raging through the European countries (Brinkley 604). Europe had already
conquered and possessed a vast majority of Africa and other uncivilized lands. This
provided these countries with new raw materials and foreign markets. America was
falling behind. America had already practiced transcontinental imperialism for
decades, but without extra territorial imperialism America was being left out. The
closing of the frontier had produced widespread fear that America s natural resources
would dwindle, necessitating foreign alternatives (Brinkley 605). The prolonged
business depression in 1893 also encouraged the economic interest in the foreign
markets available through imperialism (Healy 45).
Imperialism was supported by beliefs and current events, but also by numerous
people of power. Business was interested in imperialism because of the possibility of
new markets. The majority of the population,

In our course book, I choose My last duchess , by Robert browning, Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare, and If by Rudyard Kipling. My poem from outside is Longing by Matthew Arnold, Life in a love by Robert browning, and Love and a question by Robert Frost. My Last Duchess, is absolutely Browning s most famous dramatic monologue, with some good reason. It engages the reader on a number of levels historical, psychological, ironic, theatrical, and more. The most engaging element of the poem is probably the speaker himself, the duke. It is easy to identify him as a freak like monster, since he had his wife murdered for what comes across as fairly not purposed crimes. And yet he is charming, both in his use of language and his affable address. The ironic disconnect that colors most of Browning s monologues is particularly strong here. He lost three of his children and possibly other people he loved in his life, which this poem could be addressing. It is unclear, as it is never stated however. The tone of this poem is hopeful. Once World War II ended, the United States left isolationism behind and began a quest to abolish communism during the Cold War, involving many nations. Although the success of the containment policy in South America and Asia was not identical, each were beneficial in decreasing communism during the Cold War. Throughout the Cold War, communistic governments were rising all over the world. In South American and Asia, blood was shed by those on both sides of communistic views. Attempts were made on the lives of non communistic leaders, some which did succeed, in an attempt by the communistic to take over a countries government. With the help of neighboring countries; the United Statesaided South America and Asian countries were supported by neighboring Asian countries; most protestors were able to overthrow their communist governments and gain their county back. In 1979, thick communism was brewing for the United State s neighbor, Central America. A leftist group, called Sandinistas, had overthrown the long reigned dictator of Nicaragua. • 11. The Effects Of Malaria On African Continent And Is... Malaria is a life threatening disease that is caused by plasmodium parasites transmitted from female mosquitos when they bite a human. The plasmodium parasite can also be transmitted by blood products like unclean needles or unscreened blood. There are five parasite species (Plasmodium, falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae) that cause malaria in humans, and two of these species, P. falciparum and P. vivax, are the greatest threat (see Figure 1). The severity of malaria is based on the species of plasmodium. The symptoms people experience include chills, fever, and sweating usually occurring within a few weeks after being bitten. In the United States, it is a very rare disease with fewer than 20,000 cases per year, and is treatable by a medical professional. However, Sub Saharan Africa is home to 88% of malaria cases and 90% of malaria deaths. P. falciparum is the most prevalent parasite on the African continent and is responsible for most malaria related deaths globally. P. vivax is more widely distributed than P. falciparum and predominates in most countries outside of Africa. In the 1970s and 1980s, resistance of P. falciparum started in medicines, such as chloroquine and sulfadoxine pyrimethamine (SP). Drug resistance has been implicated in the spread of malaria to new areas and re emergence of malaria in areas where the disease had been eradicated. Population movement has introduced resistant parasites to areas previously free of drug resistance. Resistance is

Most runaways rarely stay away from home for long periods and stay within 50 miles of home (Hammer, Finkelhor, Sedlak, 2002). Although runaway juveniles are not a serious problem (Kim, 2006) and eventually return to parents or guardian (Milburn et al., 2007), they are victimized and exposed in deteriorate circumstances while away. There were many problems for runaway juveniles, in spite of returning after a short period of time, such as increasing their likelihood of engaging in high risk behavior, being exploited or victimized by others, and resorting to illicit activities (Chen, Thrane, Whitbeck, Johnson, Hoyt, 2007; Kipke, Simon, Montgomey, Unger, Iversen, 1997; Wagner, Carlin, Cauce, Tenner, 2001). However, as early as 2033, they will outnumber people younger than 18 for the first time in the country s history. However, the images celebrated in popular culture are almost all youthful, The Town Talk observed in an opinion piece. The op ed explained it to people seeing youth as beautiful and being old as something less desirable. Changing the stereotype The website pushed to change that stereotype because, in reality, America is aging. It laments the perception that old age is not ideal because only the lucky ones get old. People who reach that age have lived and gained wisdom, while their collective knowledge must be cultivated, appreciated, and used. But because of the deep bias against aging, most people view their own aging as something to fight, deny, or dislike. At a recent National Academies of Science Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence, Becca Levy, a professor at Yale University, shared a 2016 study. The research had a positive subliminal message about aging shown to older adults in 15 minute weekly sessions. Levy shared that after one month, all the seniors showed improved mobility and balance. When people see aging solely about deterioration and loss, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, a report by Kaiser Health News, said. The tendency is for people who have that point of view tend to walk slower and

The Charter of Rights had many effects, from giving the people a list of freedoms that they continue to enjoy on a daily basis to the ability of the government to take them away, given the right circumstances. The History of the Chicago Skyway The history of the Chicago Skyway began in 1928, when the City Council of Chicago motivated by the desire to strengthen connections between the city and the country s Midwestern industrial base requested a study for an elevated roadway to be constructed above the Pennsylvania Rail Road s right of way. Although this proposal did not ultimately come to fruition, the planning set the stage on which the roadwould be built adjacent to this railroad. Concurrently, the ChicagoPlan Commission had begun researching a southern extension of Lake Shore Drive beyond Jackson Park as a means to connect the city with Indiana. This study resulted in two possibilities for extending the roadway. The first possibility was to extend Lake Shore Drive along Stony Island Avenueto the Pennsylvania Railroad Right of way where it would proceed in the same manner as proposed in the 1928 plan; the second possibility was to simply extend the roadway along lake fill to Rainbow Beach Park, where it would then merge onto South Commercial Avenue which would carry it to Indiana Avenue. A subsequent study in 1939 championed the Stony Island Avenue plan; however, the project was ultimately shelved because Lake Shore Drive does not permit commercial traffic, and because the roadway fell under the jurisdiction of the Parks Department which lacked a mechanism to finance infrastructure investment. Due to these constraints, the City decided to drop its roadway connection plan in 1945. The project was revitalized

Throughout the book Amir experiences unfortunate events that causes the reader to question whether he is a moral person. Driven by his guilt, he longs to redeem himself leading him to do selfish things. Although Amir may begin a self centered person he is still a good person. Amir always feels regretful when hurting others and also soothes people when he recognizes they are upset. Whenever Amir does something bad he feels guilty and needs to make up for it. One of the most prominent examples of this, in the book, is the scene where Amir and Hassan are at the pomegranate tree. I hit him with another pomegranate, in the shoulder this time. The juice splattered on his face. Hit me back! I spat (92). This quote shows that Amir wants Hassan to hurt him, for not defending Hassan from Assef in the alley. An hour later, I still couldn t sleep. I kept tossing and turning as my relatives grunted sighed and snored in their sleep,... I understood the nature of my new curse: I was going to get away with it (86). This quote shows that he is so upset with himself that it makes him restless. Just the thought of knowing what s he s done and living with himself is distressing. Later in the book, when Amir is an adult, he returns to Kabul to save Sohrab, Hassan s son. He must fight Assef and win to be able to rescue Sohrab. What was so funny was that, for the first time since the winter of 1975, I felt peace. I laughed because I saw that, in some hidden nook in a corner of my mind, I d even been looking forward to this... My body was broken just how badly I wouldn t find out until later but I felt healed. • 41. Argumentative Essay On Halloween Costumes In recent years, Halloween costumes have created controversy because they touch on the issue of cultural appropriation. Children are simply not aware of how their costumes can unwittingly offend certain cultures or ethnic groups, and parents are also often unsure as to which costume ideas qualify as culturally respectful . In the LA Times opinion editorial, On Halloween, parents have no choice but to wade into fraught cultural politics, Oppenheimer argues that picking a Halloween costumeis a challenging task with many grey areas as to what is considered offensive to various religious or ethnic groups who are often the inspiration behind Halloween costumes. He asserts that all individuals should take care to avoid culturally appropriating, but that there are also grey areas in costumechoice where appropriation isn t as clearly defined. In order to illustrate the nuanced challenge of picking costumes, Oppenheimer utilizes an anecdote to show how societal values have changed within his lifetime. He shares, When I was 10, I was in love with a musical theater; if you d forced me to dress up for Halloween, I might have been chosen a character from Dreamgirls, a play about African Americans (Oppenheimer 3). It is evident that he was not aware of what was socially acceptable in society being that he was merely 10 years old. Considering that much time has passed, by reflecting back to his past self, he is able to realize that dressing this way could have touched many sensitive areas of cultural appropriating a race. As there are no specific set of standards established in society, individuals follow and adhere to what is presented in front of them. It is utterly challenging for all individuals to identify what is permitted in society despite the diversity in ethnic groups and age. While the youths are struggling to find the perfect balance to avoid cultural appropriating a group, it is also difficult for adults to distinguish the difference. To advise the individuals in recognizing the difference in regards to the significance of certain Halloween costumes, Oppenheimer utilizes an appeal to authority with an Yale scholar and former preschool teacher, Erika Christakis. American imperialism also possessed the solution to several arising problems in that time (Healy 34). America desired to keep up with the imperialist fever that was raging through the European countries (Brinkley 604). Europe had already conquered and possessed a vast majority of Africa and other uncivilized lands. This provided these countries with new raw materials and foreign markets. America was falling behind. America had already practiced transcontinental imperialism for decades, but without extra territorial imperialism America was being left out. The closing of the frontier had produced widespread fear that America s natural resources would dwindle, necessitating foreign alternatives (Brinkley 605). The prolonged business depression in 1893 also encouraged the economic interest in the foreign markets available through imperialism (Healy 45). Imperialism was supported by beliefs and current events, but also by numerous people of power. Business was interested in imperialism because of the possibility of new markets.
