Framing The Operational Environment
When we discuss the operational environment, all factors tie in to each other in some way. The
physical environment and infrastructure, while intertwined, can sometimes leave items off the table
when planning for the operational environment. As we see in our Lesson 2, Framing the Operational
Environment1, culture is listed in every critical variable. Items of cultural interest can include tribal
boundaries, religious burial grounds, and historically significant areas. These may not fall into the
infrastructure category, but must be respected and taken into account when planning. Planners must
take care to map out these culturally sensitive places to avoid potential conflict. The physical
environment includes terrain analysis in order to avoid danger areas that could impede ingress and
egress, choke points and defilades, climate and weather to name a few. ... Show more content on

The list in FM 6 0, Appendix A, table A 12 gives examples of sub variables and each one can affect
the mission or campaign in significant ways. With regards to infrastructure, we spoke about the need
to preserve existing water supplies, electrical grids and sewage removal/treatment plants. We talked
about the repair of these items if we were to damage them. Repair parts and technical expertise to
repair or replace affected systems can be a challenge we don t need to face. Great care to avoid
urbanized areas will have to factor in as these are outside of traditional combat planning. After ten
plus years of war in the Middle East, we have learned to avoid these areas as they are very dangerous
and difficult to patrol, clear and conduct

During times of disorder, it is natural to feel a sense of fear and loneliness that requires you to search

believe if you do so, you have control over your life. In Alfred Hitchcock s 1963 psychodrama film

Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay
Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and spectacular stories or
deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and many other cultures, the birth of these
heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets them, apart often even before birth, from common mortals
in Greek mythology. Birth is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into the world
(Leeming). For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. A mundane birth
is simply not an option for a hero, whether by the machinations of the gods or prophecies from an
oracle, even the events surrounding their conception must be spectacular. From Perseus and Danaë to

Theseus, born of Aethra and Poseidon, grew up secretly in Troezen keeping him protected from those
who would harm him. Thus, claiming the items his father left him and setting out for Athens, he
started on the path leading to many great and heroic adventures. Hercules, born of Alcmena and Zeus,
was conceived when Zeus took the form of Alcmena s husband and lay with her. Her true husband lay
with her again later that night and she conceived twins. One would be born to her human husband, and
the other fathered by Zeus himself (Hamilton). Zeus bragged about his soon to be born son alerting
and infuriating Hera to Hercules existence. Hera was notorious for tormenting her husbands
illegitimate offspring since she couldn t harm Zeus outright for his infidelity (Hamilton). Hera
persuaded Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piqué, almost killing her (Hamilton). Alcmena
in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in some accounts Hermes) stole him away to
Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast while she lay sleeping, granting him immortality
(McLeish). When Hera awoke during the suckling she pushed Hercules away and the milk that
sprayed out formed the Milky Way (Leeming). Zeus took the infant and placed him back in his crib
before departing to Olympus again. Enraged Hera sent two massive serpents to kill Hercules and his
brother as they lay sleeping

Looking For Alaska Essay
Looking for Alaska Mortality/Death theme:
Summary: Looking for Alaska is the story of a young boy named Miles Halter who leaves his
hometown in Florida in order to attend Culver Creek Preparatory High School in Alabama for his
junior year. This boy loves reading biographies and especially memorizing last words of famous
people. At Culver Creek, he meets new friends such as Chip his roommate also called Colonel,
Takumi and Alaska a beautiful young girl with whom he will fall in love but cannot have since she
already has a boyfriend named Jake. Unfortunately, under their influence, Miles starts smoking and

he is obsessed with what happens after dying. This shows us that while thinking of death, people
cannot stop thinking about what will happen to them after they die. Furthermore, this quote hints us
about how responsible Miles will be of Alaska s death since he will always think of the fact she is
dead and of what may have happened to her after it.
Page 119: The quote which refers to Alaska s mom s death shows how young Alaska had been faced to
this situation when she was eight years old. For all this time she has felt the guilt about it because she

event in her life may have a link with her death since she dies on the night that her mother died which
is a January 10th and on that night, Alaska was on her way to visit her mom s grave. This shows that
the guilt she felt may have had a consequence on an eventual suicide in order to join her mom on the

Why Is Elvis Costello Essay
Elvis Costello a brilliant singer and songwriter came onto the new wave scene in the late 1970s. When
you looked at him he resembled the late great Buddy Holly who also had nerdy looking spectacles and
of course his name reminded one of the King of Rock and Roll. Therefore it seemed destined that
Costello would be a success in the world of music.
Inborn Talent
He came into this world as Declan Patrick Macmanus on August 25, 1954 in Paddington, London,
England. I say he had inborn talent because his dad was a successful big band singer and trumpet
player. Costello went to Catholic school and tried out a variety of different instruments among them
the violin. Then at the age of 15 he took up the guitar and at this point was already interested ... Show

Songs on the album included Sweet Dreams and A Good Year For the Roses .
He came out with some really haunting ballads on his album Imperial Bedroom in 1982. Songs here
included Beyond Belief and Tears Before Bedtime .
In 1983 his song Every Day I Write the Book became a Top 40 hit in the U.S. and in 1984 he was
noted for Goodbye Cruel World .
Changing Trends
Along with changes in his personal life Costello temporarily traded his band The Attractions for a
pickup band called The Confederates which included former Elvis Presley musicians. With these
musicians he recorded the album King of America in 1986 with songs like Don t Let me Be
Misunderstood .
Costello followed up this album with Blood and Chocolate and set on a tour that featured The
Attractions, The Confederates and Costello singing solo. Songs from this album were Uncomplicated
and I Want You .
Costello designed the Spinning Songbook which allowed the audience to choose by luck of the draw,
songs from his very vast repertoire.

Smart Dog Collar
Introduction
Most of the nation s dogs are overweight, and a majority of their owners are blind to this issue.
According to the latest research of Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, Veterinarians assessed
more than half of the dogs are overweight or obese. However, their owners do not aware their dogs are
overweight. Dogs are less healthy, as the problem of overweight is often associated with chronic
health problems like hypertension, heart disease and diabetes. However, dogs do not tell owners
directly when they are suffering from common canine problems even tent to hide by nature. It may
delay the treatment of the dog.
There is a need to provide a complete and holistic monitor for dogs. Smart dog collar which consists
of many sensor elements which used to measures the vital signs of the dogs and synchronizes that data
wirelessly with a Smartphone is a wearable technology for dogs. It provides a real insight into their
activities and overall wellness also helps pet parent take better control of the dog s weight and health

How Does Temperature Affect The Height Of Basketball
Based on the surface a basketball collides with, it does affect the height of the bounce of the basketball
when dropped from one meter. In this case the surfaces that we investigated were a table top, the
classroom floor, grass, pavement, and dirt. The average height of bounces for each of the surfaces that
were tested was the table top with 60 cm, the classroom floor with 66.4 cm, the grass with 63 cm, the
pavement with 68.8 cm, and the dirt with 71.4 cm. The type of surface the basketball was bounced on
affected its height because when a basketball bounces off of a surface, some of its energy is absorbed
by that surface. More energy is absorbed by some surfaces more than others. A soft surface, such as
the table top, absorbs more energy when

Edward Taylor Prologue Poem Analysis
In Edward Taylor s Prologue he seeks to demonstrate the inferiority of man in respect to God s glory.
Taylor begins his piece by creating a metaphor in which his own subsidiarity to God is described in
terms of physical stature and uniqueness. He then purposefully includes phrases with erroneous meter
and imperfect rhymes to demonstrate that his inferiority extends to his abilities as a writer. Taylor
further attempts to establish his lack of authorial skills by including repetitious words, implying that
he lacks an extensive vocabulary. When combined these tactics serve to support the idea that Edward
Taylor has many shortcomings, both as a human and a poet, especially in comparison to the greatness
of God. Taylor begins demonstrating his meagerness by describing the vast inequity between physical
standing of God and man by employing a metaphor. In this metaphor, Taylor is but a mere Crumb of
Dust in comparison to the glory of God s creation (line 1). This contrast firstly demonstrates Taylor s
inadequacy when examined from a physical perspective; Taylor is but the smallest piece of dust, while
God s glory is, comparatively, almost endless in size and scope. God being larger than Edward Taylor
serves to suggest that God is thus innately superior to Taylor, as greater size implies superiority over
those with smaller builds. Therefore, Taylor is not simply seeking to suggest that God is physically
larger than himself, but instead aiming to use their difference in bodily

What Is A Tomboy
The definition of a tomboy, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is a girl who behaves in a
manner usually considered boyish. (Merriam Webster) Tomboys are quite common nowadays, but in
the 19th century, when Louisa May Alcott s novel Little Women took place, being a classy, elegant
woman was the ordinary. The main character, Jo March, matches the definition of a tomboy perfectly.
Alcott writes about the lives of four little women, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, and their experiences as
they grow up. Three of these girls grow into the traditional type of woman. While, on the other hand,
Jo goes against these customary ways. Specifically, Jo March defies the traditional domestic

Back in Jo March s time, most women would marry either for social reasons or financial situations.
Throughout the novel, Alcott creates an unrequited love story between Laurie and Jo. Laurie falls
deeply in love with Jo while Jo thinks of him strictly as a friend. The reader sees Jo explaining this to
Laurie in chapter 35 when she says, You, you are, you re a great deal too good for me, and I m so
grateful to you, and so proud and fond of you, I don t see why I can t love you as you want me to,
(Alcott 352). Although in that time it is seen as if a man loves a woman, the woman loves him back,
but this is not Jo s thinking. Instead Jo falls in live and eventually marries Mr. Bhaer although he will
not financially help her in any way. Their love for each other goes unannounced until chapter 46 when
Jo states she will be very upset if Mr. Bhaer leaves and he is exhilarated by this. Mr. Bhaer says ...that

Should Electoconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Be Used in...
Should ECT Be Used in Psychiatric Treatment? In 1938 two Italians neuropsychiatric introduced a
new form of treatment involving the use of electroshock to patients diagnosed with different types of
metal disorders covering major depressive disorders, catatonia, mania and schizophrenia, gaining
popularity in the 1940 and 50 s as an option treatment for mental disorders (Shorter, 2007). The
treatment consist of a series of electric shocks directly aimed at the brain for the sole intention of
triggering brief sessions of seizures, changing the chemistry inside the brain and hopefully reversing
the symptoms of certain mental disorders (MayoClinic, 1). The treatment is used as the last result
when other forms of treatments do not help in treating mental illness, and involves the use of high
electric shocks under general anesthesia 2 to 3 times a week for 3 weeks, and with maintenance once a
week for up to a year in order to reduce relapses (MayoClinic, 13). With most medical treatments
there are positive results and negative results, therefore in the case of Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
is not an exception. The positive side of ECT treatment is the rate of success and the satisfaction of the
patients treated with ECT, alleviating the sign and symptoms of major mental illness like depression.
Additional positive outcomes are the control and safer environment in which the procedure is
performed, the used of general anesthesia reducing most side effects and the low cost of the

Amazon s Product And Service
Amazon is using different operating models to provide products and service to customers. There are
three distinct models that Amazon.com offers, each with a different supply chain. The three models
are Amazon.com as seller, Amazon.com as intermediary, and Amazon.com as full service e commerce

Amazon as Seller
The basic Amazon sales channel is the web store front end which serves as their core business.
Customers go to the Amazon.com website, browse products, and place orders. Amazon is responsible
for all front end customer relationships and back end logistics in this model. Once an order is placed,
Amazon decides which internal distribution center or drop shipper should be responsible for shipping
the order to the customers. After that, Amazon will responsible for coordinating the fulfillment of the
order. When products are sourced from its internal distribution centers, then Amazon start to picks,
packs, and ships the order. When products are sourced from a drop shipper, such like a book
distributor, the distributor packages the products by using the Amazon box delivers it to the customer
(Maltz et al., 2004). This model requires Amazon to maintain or purchase inventory for immediate
selling. In this model, Amazon owns the customer relationship, provides the technology, owns or
purchases the inventory, and executes the logistics as well.

The Social Determinant Of Health
Introduction:
This research paper will focus on the social determinant of health involving access to clean water. We
have focused our research on the accessibility of safe water intake on First Nations Reserves in
Canada, we all know of the issues with limited access to safe water in other countries but we often
forget about our own issues at home here. Over a billion people in the world lack safe drinking water,
something that many of us in the Canada take for granted on a daily basis. As pointed out by Peter
Gleick, nearly three billion people live without access to adequate sanitation systems necessary for
reducing exposure to water related diseases 5. Throughout this paper we will explore different solution
options in order to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases through unsanitary water conditions. Our
research is going to express the importance of focusing on the issue we have at hand here in Canada
and increasing awareness for the issues here before worrying about other countries over seas.
Outbreaks of water borne infections include but are not limited to; E coli, Salmonella, Schistosoma,
Cholera vibrios and Hepatitis A. Thousands of people die every day worldwide from water related
diseases; these deaths include mostly children and elderly, with some of these incidents taking place in
Canada.

Significance Of The Zoot Suit
There are three iconic symbols of the presence of Mexican Americans in the history of the United
States: The role of Mexican Americans in the WWII, the Bracero movement, and the Zoot Suit Riot.
All three moments provide insight on the participation of Hispanics in the construction of the
American society and more importantly, on the way the Mexican American identity has been
constructed and on the ways this community has been considered, in general terms, a group of
domestic aliens. As a consequence, Mexican Americans have been segregated and denied equal

who wanted to contest the life conditions and the social and economic situation of their community.
Wearing the Zoot Suit became a symbol of identity that would later be criminalized. The soot suit
consisted of an oversized suit, a very long jacket and exaggerated pants; with very especial
characteristics. One of the most distinctive accessories was the watch chain hanging from the pants,
between the legs, a symbol of their manhood. The other significant element was the real leather soled
shoes. These two traits were especially shocking for those who did not accept the community: They
were symbols of a more open sexuality and a disregard for the rationing policy that reign in the

Weathering In Lehman Cave
Weathering is the when rocks break down physically or chemically into smaller particles called
sediments. Physical weathering is the breakdown of rocks and minerals without changing the chemical
composition. Examples of physical weathering include frost wedging, biological activity/root
weathering, mining/burrowing, exfoliation, and abrasion. Chemical weathering is the breakdown of
rocks into smaller pieces by changing the chemical composition of the sediments. Examples of
chemical weathering include oxidation, hydration, carbonic acid reacting with calcite to form caves,
and biosphere (plant acids). Erosion is taking the material that has been weathered and is ready to be
moved or eroded, and transports those loose sediments or rocks that ... Show more content on

The acidic ground water was necessary due to the fact that pure water could not dissolve the limestone
and marble. The acidic ground water absorbed some carbon dioxide from the air and the decaying
vegetation located in the soil and formulated carbonic acid. The carbonic acid was able to dissolve out
cavities (3) in the bedrock and when the level of the water dropped, the passageways were ready for
the next step of the development of caves. There is water that seeps into the cave at a slower rate. The
acid is weak but it is able to dissolve the bedrock above the cave and is able to redeposit the minerals,
which in this case is calcite, on the floors, ceilings, and walls of the Lehman Caves in the form of cave
decorations (3). These are still growing today, and because of it they are very

design their house with thoughts of nature, of love, of ancient inspiration... Many of them are
successful in making their own property attractive and large. However, there are also many of them
making the house unexpected. People must understand that the main element making the building
strange, different, bright large is design and they must make sure that the drawing is suitable with land

One tip that all architects advise their customers is skylight. Let s leave a blank for skylight and where

PCB Contamination
Essay #1: PCB Contamination on Warren County
Had I had the strength to do something, I would have tremored every part of my body as I witnessed
the atrocity committed by the midnight dumpers . As burns and the Ward Transformer Company laid
waste to me and my body, I saw how the people that reside on me were harmed by the contamination
of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). Though Burns and his business men were arrested soon after,
they still had managed to get the last laugh. Since the late 1970s I became a toxic landfill full of
contaminated byproducts where legislation and government failed to manage my wellbeing as well as
protect the health of nearby residents. State officials were slow to react and I had to succumb to this
contamination until finally, someone spoke up for me. With the unjust actions that happened against

Anti Federalist Paper Pros And Cons
The Federalist and Anti Federalist papers were created in response to the United States Constitution.
In 1787, the Second Continental Congress called for a federal convention. This meeting in
Philadelphia came to create the U.S Constitution. It originally was held to revise the Articles of
Confederation, but due to the mindsets of many proponents present at the convention, like Alexander
Hamilton and James Madison, and the vision of creating a new government rather than fixing the old
one, the United States Constitution was formed. Once this was sent to congress it was submitted to the
states for ratification. In response, many articles and letters were submitted to the public criticizing the
proposition. These articles and letters are where the Anti Federalist papers are derived from. Although
there was opposition to the Constitution, many were in its favor. In response to these criticizing
papers, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison wrote papers in the constitutions defense.
These were come to be known as the Federalist papers. Two papers in particular, Federalist 51 and
Anti Federalist 51, are written on the topic of checks and balances and how this relates to a separation
of powers within the national government. These arguments were successful due to their primary
points of contention and strong arguments proposed.
The primary point of contention in Federalist 51, written by James Madison, was to support the checks
and balances system in the United States

The Role Of Management Accountants And The Past And Recent...
The role of management accountant has been attracting a lot of interest since the principle of scientific
management was published by Frederick Winslow Taylor in 1911, which marked the birth of
management accounting theory. When researching the roles of management accountant in both past
and recent years, it is obvious to find that things have changed a lot. This essay is going to briefly
introduce both the past and the recent roles of management accountants first. Then discuss the reasons
for management accountants changing role. After that the analysis of the advantages this changing role
will bring about and the limitations it has will be given. Finally, some suggestions about how to treat
this changing role in today s economic environment will be offered.
In past years, traditional management accountants are score keepers , they provide information to
facilitate the process of assessing organization s actual performance against its planned activity
(Burns, Quinn, Warren, Oliveira, 2010). They mainly make people do what they are expected to do.
While now they are acting as internal consultants of the company. They spend less time on routine
tasks and more time on giving advice to managers to help them to develop a business sensitivity in
making decisions.
There are many factors facilitating the change in the role of management accountants. From external
aspects, firstly, with the rapid development in science and technology, more and more advanced and

How Did Montesquieu Influence The French Revolution
Montesquieu was officially known as Charles Louis de Secondat, Baron de La Brede et de
Montesquieu. He was a French lawyer as well as political philosopher. Most famous for his opinion on
the theory of separation of powers, he wrote Lettres Persanes, a book which criticizes the absurdities
of the current French society. The Spirit of the Laws was published anonymously in 1748 and it
profoundly influenced political thought in Europe and America. The Catholic Church banned it along
with many other books by Montesquieu in 1751 but it received high praise from the rest of Europe.
Jean Jacques Rousseau was a philosopher, as well as a writer and composer. He wrote Discourse on
Inequality and The Social Contract which influenced not only the Enlightenment in France, but and
aspects of the French Revolution along with the overall development of modern political and
educational thought. Rousseau belief was that the freedom of man was one of the most important
things that people possess. He also believed that the government was required to protect these rights.
It was this mindset that acted as the driving force behind the American Revolution. Rousseau s ideas

Yeast Glycolysis Lab Report
I believe that one factor that contributes to the rate of glucose consumption and respiration in yeast is
the glycemic index of the added sugar or sugar substitute. I have drawn these conclusions based on the
data collected by my classmates and I in addition to my prior knowledge of glycolysis.
During the testing process, some novel treatments were experimented with, including the replacement
of sugar in the experiment with maple syrup, honey, and an artificial sweetener. Because these sugar
replacements are different types of sweeteners, they have a difference in glycemic index. The
glycemic index of a food is a number that represents the number of carbohydrates in a food and how
these carbohydrates affects a person blood glucose level. A higher glycemic index means the food can
be metabolized faster. Basically, glycemic index is a representation of how easily a cell can metabolize
the sugar found in a food into glucose. Glucose can then, in turn, be converted to pyruvate through the
process of glycolysis. Pyruvate is then metabolized into acetaldehyde, and this metabolization gives
off a byproduct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a baseline, the sugar used in the original experiment was basic table sugar, composed mostly of
sucrose. Sucrose has a glycemic index of 68. However, the sugar substitutes have different glycemic
indexes. Maple syrup has a GI of 54, honey has a GI of 50, and the artificial sweetener is mostly
comprised of dextrose, which has a GI of 100. As you can see in the graph, the trend lines show that
honey had the lowest amount of collected CO2, then the maple syrup and sugar are fairly close
together, and then that the artificial sweetener experiment produced much more CO2 than any of the
others, and appears to be climbing at a more aggressive rate. This makes sense, because the artificial
sweetener had the highest glycemic index of any of the sugar

Legalization Of Cannabis In Scotland

provides information and statistics about the potential medical benefits from cannabis use. However,
in turn it shows research indicating the mental and physical harm the drug can cause. The aim of this
report was to answer the question: Should cannabis be legalised in Scotland? . Through the
information presented and questioned, Scotland or the UK in general should look to legalise or

in pain. Substances such as alcohol and tobacco are legal, yet they are behind a substantial number of

The Scottish National Party announced their backing of the decriminalising of cannabis for medical
use in Scotland last year, the members of the party sought to gain the authority over cannabis from the

1928, medical prescriptions however were still permitted until the introduction of the 1971 act. In
between those two years, the growing of cannabis was outlawed in 1964. Thus, making cannabis a

Asian American Actors In Modern Media Deal With Whitewashed
Asian American actors in modern media deal with whitewashed film and television,
underrepresentation in major works, and casting in stereotypical roles. These three problems are
rooted in the history of Asian American actors in film and television, and have been perpetrated by
stereotypes that continue to this day. The purpose of this memo is to examine the modern industry of
film and television through the eyes of Asian American actors, viewing the stereotypes and stigmas
these actors face, and looking forward to see what can be done by casting directors to reduce harmful
stereotyping and increase diversity in film and television.

As economic and political tensions faded, a new stereotype replaced Yellow Peril in film and
television. This stereotype, known as the model minority, is believed to have come around in the
1960s during the civil rights movement as an attempt to create resentment and tension within America
s minority groups (Huh 13).
The model minority stereotype characterized Asian Americans as immigrants that valued hard work,
family, and determination (Mok 192). This appears to be a positive stereotype that exemplifies the
values of the American Dream; however, academic scholars like Teresa Mok disagree. Mok argues
that the model minority stereotype emphasizes the similarities of Asian Americans and white
Americans. In this sense, the model minority might be seen as assimilating to American culture by
acting whiter (Mok 193). This stereotype was most notably seen in the first all Asian musical, Flower
Drum Song. The plot exacerbated the idea of the model minority, centering the story around the
benefits of assimilation in lieu of keeping with traditional ways. (Mok 193).
One of the most controversial stereotypes was yellowface. White American actors often donned
yellowface to portray Asian characters: one notable example is that of Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at
Tiffany s. Rooney s performance was characterized by taped eyes, fake teeth, and painted skin (Huh

speech development for school aged children. The study had two different parts, the first study
involved two children with ASD, and the study wanted to increase the amount of independent
manding, displayed when a child exchanges a picture symbol for an object without prompting. The
researchers followed the PECS guidelines in a delayed multiple baseline design study, where
participant one was taught phases I IV of PECS and participant two was taught phases I and II of
PECS. Both participants greatly increased their independent manding over the course of the study,
especially as they advanced through the phases of PECS. Participant two required more than twice as
many sessions as participant one to meet the acquisition criteria for phases I and II and therefore did
not have the opportunity to learn subsequent phases before the experiment ended. Participant two did
not use any measurable speech during the study and therefore was not used for study two. Participant
one demonstrated only vocal approximations (vocalization that was clearly not the name of the item
the participant was manding) instead of word vocalization and participant two did not use any
measurable speech during the study. Therefore, neither participant qualified to participate in the
second part of the study. (Tincani, Crozier, Alazetta, 2006). The second part of the study performed by

How often have you started off the year, or next phase of your development with good intentions, and
some goals of what you want to achieve, only to find that somehow you never see to achieve them?
What I will cover in this article is the 9 biggest obstacles that will get in your way. I will take each one
in turn and explore what is behind it, why it is there, and more importantly the action you can take to
put it to one side.

The Number Of Mobile Cellular Networks Operators Who Can...
The work has been able to verify that the number of mobile cellular network operators who can
effectively share infrastructure on a base station is limited by the following parameters:
Sensitivity degradation threshold
E field threshold or radiation limit
Allowable BTS noise floor limit
Require antenna isolation
Interference level (from spurious emission, leakages, etc.)
Tower wind loading
From the result, it was observed that six (6) GSM operators can share infrastructure for a passive
infrastructure sharing scheme without severe and unacceptable degradation of system performance.
For number of BTS operators greater than six (6), the noise floor becomes larger than 110dB, which is
not acceptable. However, as the number of users of a tower increase, the wind loading and tower
bending moment increases. Therefore, when designing towers, wind loading analysis for collocation
scenario should be carried out.
Among the parameters, the level of sensitivity degradation should be monitored closely, since its value
aid in determining system performance for a specific interference level and BTS noise floor, which
depends on the number of collocating operators. When the sensitivity degradation is greater than 3dB
it indicates that the interference threshold is larger than the noise floor limit, which is temperature and
bandwidth dependent.
It was also observed that the higher the antenna gain, the longer the antenna separating distance.
The coverage radius is affected by

It s a brass artwork made using a process called wax casting which involves creating molds into the

A close examination of this piece concluded that this artwork is a form of propaganda; which serves

second. In fact, it has been reported that 200 billion water bottles are sold globally collecting 60
billion dollars. Additionally, bottled water was created for being portable, because of ordinary tap
water quality, safety and health concerns, and as a substitute for sugary drinks. In contrast, bottled
water shouldn t be around anymore because they have become a health and environmental issue.
Water bottles have been proven to be hazardous to human health due to the large number of chemicals
found in them. Most of the bottles are not biodegradable, which damages the environment. Despite
them being portable, alternative to tap water, and a substitute for sugary drinks bottled water shouldn t
be used anymore because they are hazardous to the environment, human and animal life.
It is ironic that water bottles were brought up for safer and purer water, but retains an exceedingly
number of chemicals. In the U.S, there are an abundance of organizations that deem what are harmless
for humans to consume. The Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulate bottled water,
however tap water is overseen by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which has higher
standards than the FDA meaning some bottles aren t even approved to rinse your hands with. More
importantly, bottled waters contain contaminates, chemical contaminates, pesticides, disinfectants, and
radioactive materials. Equally important, bottled water has contaminants of Coliform (rod shaped
bacteria), Arsenic (poison), Chloride (a compound of chlorine), Iron, Manganese (resembles iron and
is used in fertilizer), phenols (Poisonous acidic compounds), Zinc, and Fluoride (deliberately added to
some bottled water). Not to mention the most popular chemical BPA, the chemical applied to form the
plastic solid and transparent. Some water bottles contain about 15 milligrams of chemical
contaminants from 10 different chemicals. The FDA did not band pesticides from the bottled water,
but they arrayed the levels and limits for each of 29 different pesticides. As well as disinfection
byproducts, a chemical compound formed by the reaction of a water disinfectant with a

Marquis de Lafayette Essay
Marquis de Lafayette The Marquis de Lafayette is best remembered for the part he played in the
American War of Independence. He contributed in helping the Americans gain free control over the
colonies by breaking away from British home rule. For sixty years he fought with consistency and
insight for political ideals and social reforms that have dominated the history of the nineteenth and
early twentieth centuries. Hence, Lafayette can be attributed to the spreading of liberty and freedom
throughout America and France. Therefore, he is viewed as a symbol of liberalism in a once absolutist
world. Born on September 6, 1757, Gilbert Montier de Lafayette lived in the Chateau de Chavaniac.

First, he wanted to distinguish himself as a soldier. Second, he detested England and the English. As
victors in the Seven Year s War, the English humiliated France and took away the French territory in
Canada. Being a very proud Frenchman, He wanted to see England get a beating; he wanted her to
lose her American colonies and he had come to help the Americans win, gain their independence, and
lower the pride of the insolent English nation (Woodward 4). Thus, he sailed in his new boat Victoire
onto the shore of South Carolina, along with fourteen other French army members, with plans in
becoming a volunteer officer for the American revolutionary army. The marquis pursued his ambitions
and left his home in secrecy even after his father in law, the Duc de Noailles, forbid him to leave
France. Lafayette s strong will and excitement to be in charge of an army was too much to hold back.
He left his young, pregnant wife with nothing but a letter saying good bye. Unfortunately, it would be
years before he would make his way back to his homeland again. Ten days after their arrival into
Charleston, Lafayette and the others made their way to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was the 27th of
July and Congress was still in session. At first, they were rejected and told to go back to France
because there were already plenty of French officers employed in the army. However, after much
consideration, congress

Confidentiality, integrity and availability, also known as the CIA triad. It is a model which is designed
to monitor policies for information security within an organization. This model is also called as the
AIC triad (availability, integrity and confidentiality) to evade confusion with the Central Intelligence

Alteration with the handset using a software or a hardware is also possible. There exists more cases of
integrity issues in connection to economic frauds which involves cell phones. In the initial phases of
GSM, duplicating the SIM cards was possible. For duplicating, physical possession of SIM card that is
to be cloned and special software for doing so which could extract the subscriber s authentication key
that has to be written to another SIM card and effectively duplicate it. Pointless to say that the
communication bills from the duplicated SIM would be charged to the actual owner as it would appear
to the network as the user makes the calls. Further improvements in the authentication procedures or
algorithms has made this kind of attack outdated. It is still possible with the help of insider to obtain
the authentication key of the subscriber. Along with bills, the duplicate or cloned SIM card would
receive the caller id of the target too which enables the attacker / hacker to liftoff the attack against
integrity, masked as another

Theodore Roethke The Slough Analysis
The Slough, by Theodore Roethke, spoke to me in a way I could relate. Based on my experience, I felt
a sense of random reverie ending with a search for answers to timeless, unanswered questions.
Furthermore, I have a passion for nature and I like how the poet used association with flora and fauna
to provide a visual display among the confusion.
The other deciding factor was I found this poem easy to read at a nice steady pace with rhythm, rhyme
and minimal variations in pitch and volume required. The poet refers to himself in a third person;
therefore, leads me to believe he was pondering life within his thoughts, rather than actually speaking
aloud. The words came across as random thoughts, a daydream of sorts. Therefore, with just slight

Egyptian hieroglyphics is an old text of their society. Many believe their symbols are similar to aliens.
Persia Assyrian culture does not share this. The Egyptians were the first to have animal rights, they
were the first for plumbing and skyscrapers. The Egyptians were very spiritual and their symbols
represent their beliefs. For instance, Anubis represents as the Sun God, born from Nephthys. Anubis
means guardian of the veil. He is the ultimate protector of the underworld, all evil stays in Hell. He
represents morning and protection of the dead. Persians do not share any Ancient Egyptian beliefs,
traditions and religious customs what so ever. The Egyptians had many wives from many Cultures,
known as Keys of Passage. They all married their eldest sisters, to keep their blood pure. You may
have a slight chance of Persians marrying into Egyptians since women from all nations were just
property given away as gifts. The Egyptians also created the famous N word, which means man with
burnt face . It has no racial hatred to it. Persia is today s Iran, they have not changed as much as Egypt

The Pros And Cons Of Abusive Relationship
What it really means to be in an abusive relationship
Society is very familiar with the terms physical and emotional abuse, whether it is personal or a term
heard in passing. The majority of people want a happy, beneficial relationship not one that is going to
cause more harm than good, yet so many people find themselves in harmful relationships. Why?
People do not just find themselves in repressive relationships, there are many factors in one s life that
contribute to the reasons one may find themselves victims in repressive relationships. When people
think of tyranny what first comes to mind is some of the world s darkest events and the tyrants
responsible for them. More often than not, tyrants are at the forefront to blame for the suffering and
death of so many innocent people. Some historical tyrants that come into mind include Adolf Hitler
and a person he worked closely with, Benito Mussolini. Hitler ruled Germany with absolute authority
in the years leading up to world war two, took advantage of the German people s suffering in the wake
of world war one. He was able to manipulate the German people transforming himself a symbol of
hope at the time, offering the German people a way out of the crippling poverty the country was
stricken with as a result of the loss of world war one. By 1998 Hitler has established a strong support
system and threatened to invade Austria (tyranny citation pg 18). Austria allowed the invasion to
transpire with no objections to the Nazi

  • 2. Framing The Operational Environment When we discuss the operational environment, all factors tie in to each other in some way. The physical environment and infrastructure, while intertwined, can sometimes leave items off the table when planning for the operational environment. As we see in our Lesson 2, Framing the Operational Environment1, culture is listed in every critical variable. Items of cultural interest can include tribal boundaries, religious burial grounds, and historically significant areas. These may not fall into the infrastructure category, but must be respected and taken into account when planning. Planners must take care to map out these culturally sensitive places to avoid potential conflict. The physical environment includes terrain analysis in order to avoid danger areas that could impede ingress and egress, choke points and defilades, climate and weather to name a few. ... • 5. Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and spectacular stories or deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and many other cultures, the birth of these heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets them, apart often even before birth, from common mortals in Greek mythology. Birth is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into the world (Leeming). For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. A mundane birth is simply not an option for a hero, whether by the machinations of the gods or prophecies from an oracle, even the events surrounding their conception must be spectacular. Hercules, born of Alcmena and Zeus, was conceived when Zeus took the form of Alcmena s husband and lay with her. Her true husband lay with her again later that night and she conceived twins. One would be born to her human husband, and the other fathered by Zeus himself (Hamilton). Zeus bragged about his soon to be born son alerting and infuriating Hera to Hercules existence. Hera was notorious for tormenting her husbands illegitimate offspring since she couldn t harm Zeus outright for his infidelity (Hamilton). Hera persuaded Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piqué, almost killing her (Hamilton). Alcmena in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in some accounts Hermes) stole him away to Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast while she lay sleeping, granting him immortality (McLeish). When Hera awoke during the suckling she pushed Hercules away and the milk that sprayed out formed the Milky Way (Leeming). Zeus took the infant and placed him back in his crib before departing to Olympus again. Enraged Hera sent two massive serpents to kill Hercules and his brother as they lay sleeping ... • 14. Edward Taylor Prologue Poem Analysis In Edward Taylor s Prologue he seeks to demonstrate the inferiority of man in respect to God s glory. Taylor begins his piece by creating a metaphor in which his own subsidiarity to God is described in terms of physical stature and uniqueness. He then purposefully includes phrases with erroneous meter and imperfect rhymes to demonstrate that his inferiority extends to his abilities as a writer. Taylor further attempts to establish his lack of authorial skills by including repetitious words, implying that he lacks an extensive vocabulary. When combined these tactics serve to support the idea that Edward Taylor has many shortcomings, both as a human and a poet, especially in comparison to the greatness of God. Taylor begins demonstrating his meagerness by describing the vast inequity between physical standing of God and man by employing a metaphor. In this metaphor, Taylor is but a mere Crumb of Dust in comparison to the glory of God s creation (line 1). This contrast firstly demonstrates Taylor s inadequacy when examined from a physical perspective; Taylor is but the smallest piece of dust, while God s glory is, comparatively, almost endless in size and scope. God being larger than Edward Taylor serves to suggest that God is thus innately superior to Taylor, as greater size implies superiority over those with smaller builds. Therefore, Taylor is not simply seeking to suggest that God is physically larger than himself, but instead aiming to use their difference in bodily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1938 two Italians neuropsychiatric introduced a new form of treatment involving the use of electroshock to patients diagnosed with different types of metal disorders covering major depressive disorders, catatonia, mania and schizophrenia, gaining popularity in the 1940 and 50 s as an option treatment for mental disorders (Shorter, 2007). The treatment consist of a series of electric shocks directly aimed at the brain for the sole intention of triggering brief sessions of seizures, changing the chemistry inside the brain and hopefully reversing the symptoms of certain mental disorders (MayoClinic, 1). The positive side of ECT treatment is the rate of success and the satisfaction of the patients treated with ECT, alleviating the sign and symptoms of major mental illness like depression. Power Quality problems can be take up using Shunt Active Power Filters. A simulation model based on mathematical model of a three phase shunt active power filter has been developed. The results show an inherent power quality improvement in terms of reduced Total Harmonic distortion (THD) of source current. It also betrays power factor correction (PFC) properties to a large extent as the source current and source voltage are in phase. Keywords shunt active power filter (SAPFs), Total harmonic distortion (THD), Proportional integral (PI) and Hysteresis current controller (HCC). INTRODUCTION In the present era of advanced technologies, power electronics devices have wide applications. Physical weathering is the breakdown of rocks and minerals without changing the chemical composition. Examples of physical weathering include frost wedging, biological activity/root weathering, mining/burrowing, exfoliation, and abrasion. Chemical weathering is the breakdown of rocks into smaller pieces by changing the chemical composition of the sediments. Examples of chemical weathering include oxidation, hydration, carbonic acid reacting with calcite to form caves, and biosphere (plant acids). The acidic ground water was necessary due to the fact that pure water could not dissolve the limestone and marble. The acidic ground water absorbed some carbon dioxide from the air and the decaying vegetation located in the soil and formulated carbonic acid. The carbonic acid was able to dissolve out cavities (3) in the bedrock and when the level of the water dropped, the passageways were ready for the next step of the development of caves. There is water that seeps into the cave at a slower rate. The acid is weak but it is able to dissolve the bedrock above the cave and is able to redeposit the minerals, which in this case is calcite, on the floors, ceilings, and walls of the Lehman Caves in the form of cave decorations (3). In 1787, the Second Continental Congress called for a federal convention. This meeting in Philadelphia came to create the U.S Constitution. It originally was held to revise the Articles of Confederation, but due to the mindsets of many proponents present at the convention, like Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, and the vision of creating a new government rather than fixing the old one, the United States Constitution was formed. Once this was sent to congress it was submitted to the states for ratification. In response, many articles and letters were submitted to the public criticizing the proposition. These articles and letters are where the Anti Federalist papers are derived from. Although there was opposition to the Constitution, many were in its favor. In response to these criticizing papers, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison wrote papers in the constitutions defense. These were come to be known as the Federalist papers. Two papers in particular, Federalist 51 and Anti Federalist 51, are written on the topic of checks and balances and how this relates to a separation of powers within the national government. The role of management accountant has been attracting a lot of interest since the principle of scientific management was published by Frederick Winslow Taylor in 1911, which marked the birth of management accounting theory. When researching the roles of management accountant in both past and recent years, it is obvious to find that things have changed a lot. This essay is going to briefly introduce both the past and the recent roles of management accountants first. Then discuss the reasons for management accountants changing role. After that the analysis of the advantages this changing role will bring about and the limitations it has will be given. Finally, some suggestions about how to treat this changing role in today s economic environment will be offered. In past years, traditional management accountants are score keepers , they provide information to facilitate the process of assessing organization s actual performance against its planned activity (Burns, Quinn, Warren, Oliveira, 2010). They mainly make people do what they are expected to do. While now they are acting as internal consultants of the company. They spend less time on routine tasks and more time on giving advice to managers to help them to develop a business sensitivity in making decisions. • 32. Yeast Glycolysis Lab Report I believe that one factor that contributes to the rate of glucose consumption and respiration in yeast is the glycemic index of the added sugar or sugar substitute. I have drawn these conclusions based on the data collected by my classmates and I in addition to my prior knowledge of glycolysis. During the testing process, some novel treatments were experimented with, including the replacement of sugar in the experiment with maple syrup, honey, and an artificial sweetener. Because these sugar replacements are different types of sweeteners, they have a difference in glycemic index. The glycemic index of a food is a number that represents the number of carbohydrates in a food and how these carbohydrates affects a person blood glucose level. A higher glycemic index means the food can be metabolized faster. Basically, glycemic index is a representation of how easily a cell can metabolize the sugar found in a food into glucose. Glucose can then, in turn, be converted to pyruvate through the process of glycolysis. Pyruvate is then metabolized into acetaldehyde, and this metabolization gives off a byproduct ... As you can see in the graph, the trend lines show that honey had the lowest amount of collected CO2, then the maple syrup and sugar are fairly close together, and then that the artificial sweetener experiment produced much more CO2 than any of the others, and appears to be climbing at a more aggressive rate. As economic and political tensions faded, a new stereotype replaced Yellow Peril in film and television. This stereotype, known as the model minority, is believed to have come around in the 1960s during the civil rights movement as an attempt to create resentment and tension within America s minority groups (Huh 13). The model minority stereotype characterized Asian Americans as immigrants that valued hard work, family, and determination (Mok 192). This appears to be a positive stereotype that exemplifies the values of the American Dream; however, academic scholars like Teresa Mok disagree. Mok argues that the model minority stereotype emphasizes the similarities of Asian Americans and white Americans. In this sense, the model minority might be seen as assimilating to American culture by acting whiter (Mok 193). This stereotype was most notably seen in the first all Asian musical, Flower Drum Song. The plot exacerbated the idea of the model minority, centering the story around the benefits of assimilation in lieu of keeping with traditional ways. (Mok 193). One of the most controversial stereotypes was yellowface. White American actors often donned yellowface to portray Asian characters: one notable example is that of Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany s. Another study by Tincani, Crozier, and Alazetta (2006) looked at the effects of PECS on manding and speech development for school aged children. The study had two different parts, the first study involved two children with ASD, and the study wanted to increase the amount of independent manding, displayed when a child exchanges a picture symbol for an object without prompting. The researchers followed the PECS guidelines in a delayed multiple baseline design study, where participant one was taught phases I IV of PECS and participant two was taught phases I and II of PECS. Both participants greatly increased their independent manding over the course of the study, especially as they advanced through the phases of PECS. Participant two required more than twice as many sessions as participant one to meet the acquisition criteria for phases I and II and therefore did not have the opportunity to learn subsequent phases before the experiment ended. Participant two did not use any measurable speech during the study and therefore was not used for study two. Participant one demonstrated only vocal approximations (vocalization that was clearly not the name of the item the participant was manding) instead of word vocalization and participant two did not use any measurable speech during the study. • 40. The Number Of Mobile Cellular Networks Operators Who Can... The work has been able to verify that the number of mobile cellular network operators who can effectively share infrastructure on a base station is limited by the following parameters: Sensitivity degradation threshold E field threshold or radiation limit Allowable BTS noise floor limit Require antenna isolation Interference level (from spurious emission, leakages, etc.) Tower wind loading From the result, it was observed that six (6) GSM operators can share infrastructure for a passive infrastructure sharing scheme without severe and unacceptable degradation of system performance. For number of BTS operators greater than six (6), the noise floor becomes larger than 110dB, which is not acceptable. However, as the number of users of a tower increase, the wind loading and tower bending moment increases. Therefore, when designing towers, wind loading analysis for collocation scenario should be carried out. Among the parameters, the level of sensitivity degradation should be monitored closely, since its value aid in determining system performance for a specific interference level and BTS noise floor, which depends on the number of collocating operators. When the sensitivity degradation is greater than 3dB it indicates that the interference threshold is larger than the noise floor limit, which is temperature and bandwidth dependent. It was also observed that the higher the antenna gain, the longer the antenna separating distance. The coverage radius is affected by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hence, Lafayette can be attributed to the spreading of liberty and freedom throughout America and France. Therefore, he is viewed as a symbol of liberalism in a once absolutist world. First, he wanted to distinguish himself as a soldier. Second, he detested England and the English. As victors in the Seven Year s War, the English humiliated France and took away the French territory in Canada. Being a very proud Frenchman, He wanted to see England get a beating; he wanted her to lose her American colonies and he had come to help the Americans win, gain their independence, and lower the pride of the insolent English nation (Woodward 4). Thus, he sailed in his new boat Victoire onto the shore of South Carolina, along with fourteen other French army members, with plans in becoming a volunteer officer for the American revolutionary army. The marquis pursued his ambitions and left his home in secrecy even after his father in law, the Duc de Noailles, forbid him to leave France. Lafayette s strong will and excitement to be in charge of an army was too much to hold back. He left his young, pregnant wife with nothing but a letter saying good bye. • 46. Theodore Roethke The Slough Analysis The Slough, by Theodore Roethke, spoke to me in a way I could relate. Based on my experience, I felt a sense of random reverie ending with a search for answers to timeless, unanswered questions. Furthermore, I have a passion for nature and I like how the poet used association with flora and fauna to provide a visual display among the confusion. The other deciding factor was I found this poem easy to read at a nice steady pace with rhythm, rhyme and minimal variations in pitch and volume required. The poet refers to himself in a third person; therefore, leads me to believe he was pondering life within his thoughts, rather than actually speaking aloud. The words came across as random thoughts, a daydream of sorts. Therefore, with just slight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
