Crafting an essay on the topic of "House On Mango Street" can pose several challenges due to
the intricate nature of the subject matter. Firstly, exploring the nuances of Sandra Cisneros' novel
requires a deep understanding of the characters, themes, and cultural context embedded within
the narrative. This involves careful reading, analysis, and interpretation to extract the subtle
layers of meaning.
Furthermore, addressing the socio-cultural aspects presented in the novel adds complexity to the
essay. The themes of identity, belonging, and the portrayal of gender roles demand thorough
research and critical thinking to provide a nuanced perspective. Unraveling the symbolism and
poetic elements in Cisneros' prose requires a keen literary analysis, making the essay-writing
process both intellectually demanding and time-consuming.
Moreover, forming a coherent and structured argument while maintaining a fluid writing style is
essential. Balancing the exploration of personal reactions with scholarly insights can be
challenging but is crucial to delivering a well-rounded essay.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "House On Mango Street" requires a blend of
literary analysis, cultural understanding, and the ability to articulate complex ideas. It is a task

Nikko Jenkins Case Study
One current event that I see very often in the newspaper is the case about Nikko
Jenkins. Jenkins was deemed mentally incompetent for sentencing and the decision
was made because of the seriousness of his crimes that he would housed in the prison
instead of the state s psychiatric hospital. This hospital does not have proper security
to ensure that he couldn t escape. He could get psychiatric treatment in prison. This to
me shows that a mental hospital is not for everyone even if they are mentally ill. The
crimes that Jenkins committed right after he got out of prison for another crimewere
very evil and we should ensure the safety of our citizens. It is my opinion that Jenkins
might not have gotten the proper treatment in prison before he
The Crack Of The Bat Short Story
The Crack of the Bat Crack!! Leah just loved the feel of the vibrating bat, but to
start this story right you have to start from the beginning. Leah was a loveable,
spunky, happy girl who was nervous about trying out for the softball team. Leah
was so excited she loved to play sports, but before Leah could do that she had to focus
on her school work. You see she was having trouble in Math.
The next day she went to the smelly school and the day went on like any other. First
period which was Tech, second and third period which was Star, fourth period which
was Science, fifth period which was Language Arts, sixth period which Lunch,
seventh period which was Social Studies, and was eighth period, Math. Leah was

Hand exclaimed empathetically, Do you want to stay after and make them up
tomorrow? I will have to talk to my parents, Leah said unhappily. Oh no! They will
be really mad at me. I will just have to tell the truth. On the bus she was running a
bunch of ideas through her head of just what to say. For example, Mom and Dad I
need to talk to you, I took some math tests and I didn t do so well I will retake them
tomorrow if you are okay with that. I am sorry I will take a consequence if you are
going to give me one. Or Mom and Dad I took some tests and didn t get a good grade
I will retake them tomorrow and get a better grade, I am sorry. Leah got home and
said, Mom and Dad I need to talk to you, I took some math tests and I didn t do so
well, I will retake them tomorrow if you are okay with that. I am sorry, I will take
any consequence if you are going to give me one. Her Mom and Dad said, Okay we
will not be giving you a punishment but you better get those grades up!
Leah s mother went off to make supper and her father asked, What are you working

The Value Of Taking Responsibility Essay
The Value in Taking Responsibility During the late 1800 s and early 1900 s a
series of laws and campaigns were instated to prevent forest fires. It was believed
that forest fires would greatly damage the timber industry due to the loss of trees the
forests would suffer as a result. The longer these campaigns persisted, the worse the
forest fire breakouts became, and the forests continued to degrade. Many animals
were also displaced and threatened as a result of these intense fires. Eventually
forestry researchers and conservationists started looking at what fires did to the
various ecosystems. They found that fires actually promote the growth of healthier,
stronger trees by burning the weak trees and providing more nutrients for the soil. By
suppressing fires, the forests experienced large amounts of degradation, and many
animals were threatened by the loss of sustainable habitats. Controlled burns every
few years actually benefits all the organisms living in that ecosystem, however, in
some places it s nearly impossible to burn. After so many years of fire suppression
the leaf litter has accumulated to such large amounts that any fire started would burn
to hot and high for the forest to survive. Humaninterests often times have profound
affects on the world around them. There are many instances like the above example
in which peoples own self interests end up hurting and degrading the environment
around them. In the aftermath of events such as this, there are many
The Nsa s National Security Agency
The National Security Agency s (NSA) warrantless collection of metadata has been
questioned on constitutional grounds. Specifically, the NSA s program has been
argued to be in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, which states
that all citizens are to be free from any unreasonable search or seizure. Proponents of
the NSA s collection of metadata believe that it is a crucial tool in preventing terrorist
attacks, while opponents of the program believe that its questionable constitutional
validity, along with its lack of clear success in preventing a single terrorist attack,
leaves the NSA s metadata collection program in desperate need of reform or outright
abolishment.
I.THE NSA S PURPOSE AND THE EVOLUTION OF GOVERNMENT
SURVEILLANCE It is important to note what the NSA is tasked to do before
discussing the constitutional arguments against its metadata program. As
Abdulmajeed Alhogbani, in his work, Going Dark: Scratching the Surface of
Government Surveillance, informs, the agency has two tasks: 1) information
assurance, which prevents foreign agents from obtaining classified information, and
2) signals intelligence, which collects and analyzes foreign intelligence (475).
Metadata collection does not fall under either of these tasks.
Prior to the establishment of the National Security Agency in 1952, the earliest
surveillance measure enacted in the United States was the Communications Act of
1934, which centralized the regulatory process of
Finding My Identity Essay
Having an identity and finding yourself isn t always the easiest task to do, luckily I
think I ve found myself and I m proud with the way I am and carry myself. Now,
most people might not think that my outlook is the best way to go through life but
fortunately I don t care what people think of me.
I like standing out and being different but not in a very noticeable way; I am a
regular guy, I m weird, random, odd and extraordinary and I ve really embraced the
fact that I m pretty apathetic. I ve become this individual that really doesn t care
about any outside opinions; as long as I feel comfortable with myself and what I m
doing, everything s okay. I ll listen to your thoughts but I won t pay much attention to
it afterwards.
My way of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I m not really a religious person, my family is Catholic and although I do go to
church every now and then, I don t consider myself to be devoted to a higher
power. I don t even believe we will all be judged when we die and let into a nice
place called heaven. I think that whenever a person dies they re just reborn in a
hospital somewhere in the world, I don t know where I picked up this idea but it
seems about right to me.
Education is a very important factor in the lives of many people but, personally, I
think everyone in the world should rely on their basic instincts. When teachers try
to get through to me, I think that blocks them out. I learn better and get a good
grasp on things when there s no one around. I can concentrate better and get the
work that needs to be done finished. Work should be handed to each person equally
because everybody needs money. Everybody should be given a shot at a job without
being judged on their appearance or their way of life.
In my life, I haven t accomplished a lot except I passed the CAHSEE on my first try,
if you can count that as an accomplishment. Right now I am set on getting my high
school diploma because even though people should use their natural instincts, I think
I ll really need a diploma to have a better life.
In conclusion, the way I live my life is very particular, I don t give much attention to
anyone and I don t like to receive much
Minority Teachers
This article whose focus was on minority teacher candidates in teacher education
programs presented an argument that schools with increased numbers of minority
teachers will have a richer multicultural knowledge base, stronger roles models, and
more shared experiences between students and teachers, and greater numbers of
insider experiences that help build bridges between cultures (Szecsi Spillman, 2012).
The article touched on a few of the hindrances , like low pay and standardized test
difficulties, but the purpose the article was to help readers gain an understanding of
how minorities in teacher educationprograms feel about their journey to becoming a
teacher. The article showcased a study of three minority students in a teacher
education... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The interaction with students that looked like me and shared experiences like me
was one of the most awesome times of my college career. It was also nice to have
professors that looked like me and speaking with them about their personal
experiences of things many of us can only read about in history books. My
experience in college is what students need to experience in their schools and in
their classrooms. The participants in the study noted the same feelings as well.
There was a connection that they could make with the students and their parents.
This by far was the best article that I read because it was personal and I was able to
connect more with what these students felt while going through the program. It made
me think of all the things that I would have to do in order to recruit minority students
to my building when I have one. How would I or would I be able to change the
demographics of my building to mirror the demographics of my students? In my
opinion the information contained in this article is reliable because it is authentic
information from minority teachers during their time and struggle while learning
how to become a teacher. I thought the article remained objective throughout and the
points presented not only need to be heard by school leaders but by non minority
teachers. The goal of this source is to inform schools, both secondary and post
secondary, how and what should be done to attract and retain minorities to teacher

Hitler s Early Life During World War II
World War II was one of the most destructive wars in history (Online, World War II
1). Hitler s army conquered many different European countries. Hitler was the
leader of the Holocaust, which killed 11 14 million people including six million
Jews. All these things together gave World War II the nickname, The Cold War and
Hitler s War . Hitler was significant because of his early life and his actions in World
War II.
To begin, Hitler s early life was the start of his war and army leadership. First,
Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. Second, Hitler
clashed with his father. Hitler s father wanted Hitler to become a civil servant,
while Hitler wanted to be an artist. Also, when Hitler s grades went down, it
angered his ill tempered father. Third, Hitler started his career. On August 1914,
Hitler was accepted into the German Army. Hitler s early life was significant to how
he became a leader. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, on September 1, 1939 German forces invaded Poland. In response to the
invasion, Britain and France declared war on Germany. Hitler didn t want to invade
Britain. He told his generals that Britain would never surrender. Second, Hitler soon
became dictator of Germany. He built military strength, and lead Germany into many
wars. The wars included war against Britain, France, Soviet Union, and the United
States. Third, the Nazis were created in 1919. Hitler thought Germany belonged to
the Aryan race. He thought Jews threatened that race. Hitler created concentration
camps which killed 11 14 million people. They were killed mostly by poisonous

The Change Of Unhealthy Lifestyle
The Change in Unhealthy Lifestyle Many children and adults these days live
unhealthy lifestyles. They are eating more processed food and fast food. Lack of
sleep and alcohol are also common in unhealthy lifestyles. Some people are even born
into families that have unhealthy habits such as smoking. The most common causes
of an unhealthy lifestyle are an unhealthy diet, substance abuse and sexual
promiscuity. To improve life, those unhealthy ways should change to eat healthy,
avoid substance abuse, and promiscuity. First, American people nowadays have
unhealthy diets, especially teenagers, children and young adults. Some eat too much
junk food, and there are so many fast food restaurants on every corner. Then later on,
they confront with obesity. According to Kevin Fernandez et.al, author of Study
Regarding Overweight/ Obesity among Medical students of a Teaching Hospital in
Pune, India states, Obesity is a multi factorial disorder, which is often associated
with many other significant diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, other
cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis and certain cancers (Kevin, 279). Girls are
afraid of getting fat and worry about their body size. As Janet Polivy, author of
Psychological Consequences of Food Restriction points out, the decision of limit in
eating or diet is an example of self improvement (Janet, 589). People think that
restrain their eating and get weight loss would help them achieve improvement health

Race In America
Race is one of many key factors that influence the historic relationship between
classes, ethnicity, immigrants, bodies, and the state, specifically when it comes to
notions of citizenship. The articles, Perils of Degeneration, Hygiene and The Indian
Problem , Nationalizing Children through Schools and Hygiene, Puffy, Ugly, Slothful
and Inert , and The Vice Trust, all point to the function of popular perceptions of race
in society, specifically how individuals are classified based on certain racial markers.
All of these articles surround the theme in which notions of race influenced political
and social responses in both the United Statesand Latin America.
More often than not, these articles help us discover that, citizenship tends to be
confused and misidentified with race. Ann Zulawski highlights this particularly well
in her account of late nineteenth century Latin American and its conversations
surround public health in the public sphere. In doing so, the political elite can easily
exclude certain races, such as Indians from the political ... Show more content on

analysis of the urban culture, racist overtones, and much more. The Scare highlighted
particularly white men and their domination over African Americanwomen. Thus,
not only increasing the mulatto population but it also institutionalized a new form
of modern slavery trafficking. With Keire s focus on the Vice Trust she emphasizes
a key shift away from morality and into economics and introduced a set of strategies
and legislation of which she argues shaped the discourse of the urban reformers.
Keire s account of prostitution and trafficking, illustrates that discourse on racial
degeneration is far from over as it is still deeply ingrained in our contemporary
Oklahoma City Bombing Essay
On April 19th, 1995 a homemade bomb made of a concoction of agricultural
fertilizer, fuel, and other dangerous chemicals was left in a truck parked outside the
Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City. At 9:02 in the morning, it s
blast damaged over 300 buildings surrounding the vehicle and even flattened a third
of the federal building. (Strom, 2015) The bomb took the lives of 168 people,
including 19 children. It was found that two men, Timothy McVeighand Terry Lynn
Nichols were the ones who planted the device. Both men were found to be
associated with a radical militia movement that sought revenge for a siege in Waco,
Texas two years prior. The siege killed 82 Branch Davidians, of whom, multiple were
related to the militia movement.
McVeigh and Nichols saw an opportunity to destroy a building full of innocent
people, because of their extremist mindset. They decided tp destroy a building full
of innocent people who work because of their extremist ways. Something that was
seemingly odd was that McVeigh was a Persian Gulf war veteran and Nichols was
his military friend. A third man whose name was Michael Fortier also had
information regarding the detonation of the bomb at the building, Fortier later plead
guilty for harboring information of the explosion.
In the days following the explosion, the Federal Bureau of Investigation had little
trouble finding the ones responsible. Though it would prove incomprehensible to the
families who lost loved ones to move on

Chairman Dennis Chip Wilson founded Lululemon Athletica Inc. in 1998. The
Vancouver, Canada based Lululemon Athletica Inc. designs and sells yoga

athletic consumer. Their mission statement is to create components for people to
live longer, healthier, fun lives. They operate in 250 company owned stores in
North America alone in 2015; they also have other stores around the world.
Lululemon has 8,628 people employed as of 2015. They primary design apparel is
for women that like to run, do yoga, or dance. But the company also offers a line
for men. A third party in Taiwanese constructs the attire, which is then distributed to
the different stores in Canada, North America, and all over the world. Geographic
Reach and Operations Sixty percent of Lululemon s sales come from the United
States, which has stores in about 35 states and in the District of Columbia. One of
the largest markets in the US is California; where almost 20% of the US stores are
located. Canada reports for about one third of the company s sales with Australia
and New Zealand bringing in the rest. About $1.5 billion or 95% of Lululemon s
revenues came from North America in 2014. Outside sales account for about five
percent or $0.1 Billion of the revenue for 2014, these outsides sales do not include
US or Canada. But the share for international revenue
Comparing The United States Postal Service And The Pony...
The United States Postal Service and the Pony Express are similar in many ways,
but also have their differences. The Pony Express was the way people in the 1800
s got their mail, but was retired when telegraph lines started to sprout in the
American West. Our United States Postal Service is how people now receive their
letters, packages, and cards. The term Pony Express recieved its name because
mail was delivered by horses traveling for hundreds of miles. Only 180 men were
hired for this very important job. The route of the Pony Express stretched from
Missouri to California. Obstacles encountered were the drastic changes of weather.
Sandy deserts, ridgid mountains, and grassy plains were few types of the different
landscapes. Nearly
Character Analysis Of Johnny In The Outsiders By S. E.
Hinton
Can you imagine the guilt and heroism? The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is about the
fighting between the Socs and Greasers, which takes place in Oklahoma. It tells
the story of the struggles among the groups and what they think is right and wrong
with society. One character that stands out in the story is Johnny, because he is a
dynamic character who changes from being shy and quiet, to being a hero and a
round character because he has many personality traits such as being shy, quiet,
and heroic. Johnny can be described as scared, quiet, and heroic. Johnny can be
described as scared for many reasons. An example is when he was in the hospital
and was scared of dying. On page 121, he says I don t want to die now. It aint long
enough. Sixteen years aint long enough. This shows Johnny was scared and not
ready to die, because his sixteen years on the streets he had learned and seen all the
wrong things. Another example is when Johnny gets scared when the Socs come
down the road in their mustang. Page 31, Ponyboy tells how Johnny started
breathing heavily and was staring at the Socs hand, who was wearing three rings.
Therefore, that is why Johnny is scared everywhere he goes because he fears getting
jumped by the Socs again. From these examples it is clear that Johnny is scared of
dying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is apparent when Two Bit said he wondered why Johnny and Ponyboy were
such good friends because neither of them talked. On page 39, it says You must
make such interesting conversation, Ponyboy keeping his mouth and you not saying
anything. This shows that Johnny is quiet and doesn t talk much. Another example
is when he was with Ponyboy at the movie and they were sitting by the Soc girls
and he was being quiet. On page 24, it says Johnny managed a shy Hi to the girls
and tried to watch the movie. This means Johnny was quiet and always nervous
around strangers. As you can see Johnny is extremely quiet and doesn t say much

Alan Turing s Enigma Code
During World War II, Nazi Germany killed around 20,946,000 men, women, and
children from multiple countries and backgrounds (R.J. Rummel). This war was just
as horrid and unthinkable as any other. Millions of people suffered, towns were
destroyed, and society lived in an all consuming fear. Germany was successful with
most of their plans of destruction, and part of that came from their unsolvable Enigma
code. Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician, worked with other intellectuals to figure
out how to crack it. They were triumphant. Although the end of WWII can be
attributed to many things, Alan Turing s solving of the Enigma code was what
allowed the Allies to have the ultimate advantage because they could understand

With German invasion imminent in 1939, the Poles opted to share their secrets
with the British, and Britain s Government Code and Cipher School (also known
as GC CS) Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire, became the centre for Allied efforts to
keep up with dramatic war induced changes in Enigma output. (Andrew Lycett,
BBC.co.uk) If the Allies had access to decoded German communication, then they
would have the upper hand. The Germans were so confident in the Enigma code
that they used it to encrypt most all of their messages during the war. Since it was
a difficult and sensitive task, Bletchley Park needed Britain s best minds to work
together. He (Alan Turing) was already working part time for the British
Government s Code and Cypher School before the Second World War broke out. In
1939, Turing took up a full time role at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire (Imperial
War Museums). Alan Turing was a very intelligent mathematician and at this point,
he was proving this to many others. His genius was exactly what this problem
needed. After Britain declared war on Germany, they immediately sent people to
work on cracking the Enigma. It was believed to be an impossible task, and yet they
put their best efforts into working on it with the help of
Essay about Creation Science
Creationism is a religious metaphysical theory about the origin of the universe. It is
not a scientific theory. Technically, creationism is not necessarily connected to any
particular religion. It simply requires a belief in a Creator. Millions of Christians and
non Christians believe there is a Creator of the universe and that scientific theories
such as the the theory of evolutiondo not conflict with belief in a Creator. However,
fundamentalist Christians such as Ronald Reagan and Jerry Falwell, have co opted
the term creationism and it is now difficult to refer to creationism without being
understood as referring to fundamentalist Christians who (a) take the stories in
Genesis as accurate accounts of the origin of the universe and... Show more content

That theory is quite distinct from the fact of evolution. Other scientists have different
theories of evolution, but only a negligible few deny the fact of evolution. Gish is not
doing science when he argues against the fact of evolution. He has no interest in
scientific facts or theories. His interest is in apologetics: defending the faith against
what he sees as attacks on God s Truth. All his arguments are defensive; they are
attempts to show that the evidence does not support the scientific fact of evolution.
Creationists, mistaking the uncertain in science for the unscientific, see the debate
among evolutionists regarding how best to explain evolution as a sign of weakness.
Scientists, on the other hand, see uncertainty as simply an inevitable element of
scientific knowledge. They regard debates on fundamental theoretical issues as
healthy and stimulating. Science, says evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould, is
quot;most fun when it plays with interesting ideas, examines their implications, and
recognizes that old information may be explained in surprisingly new ways. quot;
Thus, through all the debate over evolutionary mechanisms biologists have not been
led to doubt that evolution has occurred. quot;We are debating how it happened, quot;
says Gould (1983, p.256).
Creation science, on the other hand, is not science but pseudoscience and it is
connected to a particular group of fundamentalist Christians. Most Christians,

and the impacts of Traditional Land Use on the aboriginal community in Canada. The
primary purpose of Traditional Use Studies is to examine the Canadian First National
and indigenous people around the world, and used in gathering knowledge about the
contemporary and traditional land uses of the communities. For the last quarter of the
century, Canada?s Aboriginal peoples have long documented the extent in which they
have used traditional resources and lands both since and before the settlement of

Interest in better forest management, consultation requirements, the protection of
Aboriginal and treaty rights, forest certification, and government policies
requirements all contribute to the expanding interest in traditional land use. However,
collecting knowledge and information about Aboriginal peoples land use, and forest
management?s integration has not been straightforward. While recognizing the
benefits of this process of information collection, the Aboriginal peoples have been
increasingly concerned about the ways in which their knowledge is being utilized.
Financers, supporters, and forestry companies are increasingly concerned about
guaranteeing access to this data and efficient methods of integrating it into forest
planning and management. Traditional land use is a means for governments to
protect the interests of land for the Aboriginal peoples but have been apprehensive
about their probable impact on their capability of using and controlling access to
Crown lands. All parties involved recognized that Traditional Land Use studies have
become a vital instrument for Aboriginal peoples striving to declare priori claims to
the lands the Aboriginal peoples have variably occupied, and to generate avenues in
which the Aboriginal peoples can negotiate roles in the management of the land. In
spite of the numerous studies to be developed, there has yet to be a
Of Pico Della Mirandola s Oration On The Dignity Of Man
Pico della Mirandola was an Italian philosopher who mastered many languages and
traditions. He wrote the Oration on the Dignity of Man, which explores the idea
that men have the ability to control their destiny. He introduces the idea that God
has bestowed the gift of free will upon men; this was a new idea in the 15th
century. Mirandola speaks of a new and different God; a God unlike the medieval,
punishing, and cruel one portrayed in earlier times. This work was written for the
public even though it was not published during Mirandola s lifetime. It is
historically significant because of its opposition to the societal norms of God as the
controller of destiny and proved to be a very influential and revolutionary work.

Mirandola makes this point most specifically in the last paragraph of his work by
stating, To him it is granted to have whatever he chooses, to be whatever he wills.
Beasts as soon as they are born bring with them from their mother s womb all they
will ever possess (Mirandola 9). This passage is significant because it is stating
that when man is born, he possesses all he can ever possibly be, and that it is up to
him to decide the type of person he will become. God has planted the seeds for his
life and it is within his free will to decide if he will be happy or rational or brutish.
This idea of choosing one s own happiness was revolutionary during the 15th century
because it was previously though that God controlled man s happiness, and if a man
was unhappy it should be interpreted as God s punishment. This free will gave men
the ability to create their own environments and systems without the hand of God,
therefore granting them the ability to change things and choose their own

Social Class In The Great Gatsby
In this movie it is very revealing that the characters feel as if they are totally limited
by the amount of money that they are worth, so their perspective on being successful
and widely known is predominantly based on their financial status, and/or worth. The
story that this movie carries along with it portrays what can happen when social class
and money come into act. The movies setting takes place approximately around the
early 1900 s. During this time frame, people were focusing on trying to live the
American Dream, and the dream illustrated how easy it is to lose contact with the
important things in life, and how people are bound to make it to the top. The Great

Managing Diversity in the Workplace Essay
There is no doubt that the business world is changing rapidly and that many factors
are also simultaneously interacting. Perhaps these factors are created by cultural
diversity.
The online dictionary source, http://en.wiktionary.org defines diversity in the social
context as a business strategy encouraging differences in order to compete in a
marketplace with a heterogeneous customer base. Diversity in the general
population, the work force and the market place give many benefits for
organizations. Global managers gain more knowledge on internal diversity in order
to maximize the efficiency of their workforce and increase profit margins for their
companies.
Diversification of the American workforce has changed the way managers ... Show

An organization is affected by cultural factors on many levels. The top
management forms the basic foundation of an organization when they set the
primary goals for that organization, the reason the organization is in business. An
example might be an American car company with the goal of producing vehicles
for the public and bringing in large profits for the shareholders. This goal is
derived in the root cultural tenant of capitalism. The United States was founded
with capitalist ideas and so American managers will have capitalist ideas. Now the
same type of company in the Soviet Union, before the end of the cold war, may
have had the goal of producing efficient military vehicles, not being concerned about
the profit margin rather the purpose of the product. This goal would have been
derived from the socialist belief of all things are for the good of the state.
As the influence of culture affects the direction of the company, it also affects the
interaction between the managers and the employees. In the example of the
American auto plant, the interaction between manager and employee was one based
on western ideas of supervision and motivation. Today these ideas are changing. As
people of other races and other ethnic groups continue to emigrate, they will bring
even more diversity and lifestyle changes to the United States.

Meeting the general standards that constitute sufficient public education is a
continuing urban challenge for many cities. Of particular interest is the city of
Detroit, who s deteriorating school buildings have become a national focus in
recent years. The public education system in Detroit has continued to disappoint,
and stands as a strong example of some the problems with public education that
inner city residents face. However, is it the inner city itself that is the cause of the
problem? Or a host of other institutional and social factors related to city life? In
part, we can answer this question by comparing and contrasting Detroit s urban
school district with Johnston Iowa s suburban school district. One way to assess
the overall productivity of a particular school district is to evaluate the results of
annual standardized testing enforced by the No Child Left Behind Act. The results
of these tests are measured the same across the country using the National
Assessment of Education Progress (336). Because the results are calculated against
the same standards across city and state lines, it is easy to compare and contrast
annual results across districts. In Detroit, for the academic year of 2014 15, only
17.2 percent of all 8th grade students scored proficient in reading and only 6.9
percent of all 8th grade students scored proficient in mathematics ( Annual education
report Detroit city school district M STEP grades 3 8, 2016). This is compared to an

The Bombing Of The Attack Bombers
On 12 October 2000, a 505 foot Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer named
the USS Cole, was attacked by two suicide bombers while anchored in the port of
Aden, Yemen for refueling. The U.S. Navy destroyer, manned by a crew of 293,
had been in transit from the Mediterranean Sea to the Arabian Gulf to support
United Nations Security Resolutions involving Iraq. The suicide bombers had
utilized a small motorboat laden with explosives to move in close to their intended
target. Within seconds, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated, ripping a
40 foot hole in the half inch reinforced steel plated port side of the hull. While the
heroic actions of the crew saved the vessel, seventeen U.S. Navy sailors were killed

Further, CI investigations play a vital role in resolving acts that are considered to be a
threat to national security. Then Secretary of Defense William Cohen immediately
launched an investigation into the attack on the Cole. Within hours of the deadly
blast, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence
Agency (CIA), and a contingent of individuals from the Pentagon s Fleet Anti
Terrorist Support Team were dispatched to investigate the scene. In addition, U.S.
Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) sent a task force to conducted a
separate investigation into the bombing. While in Yemen, these agents developed a
close working relationship with the Yemeni government and in the process,
orchestrated one of the largest ever investigations regarding a crime that was
committed outside of the U.S. It was discovered through the course of these
investigations that the bombing was conducted by al Qa ida, which had considered
the Cole to be a symbol of American power and policy in the Middle East.
Investigations by the NCIS task force found solid evidence that linked the attack to
Osama bin Laden.
In addition, the Department of Defense (DoD) USS Cole Commission Report
discovered that the DoD had failed to allocate enough resources to all source

counterterrorism. It further stated in transit units need adequately manned CI

Essay on The Fall of the Western Empire in the Fifth
Century
In the year 330 Constantine founded a new imperial city in the east, which became
known as Constantinople. Accompanying Diocletian s system of tetrarchy, the
creation of this new city affirmed the separation of the Roman Empire into the east
and the west. The Eastern Roman Empire held a series of advantages over the west
both socially and economically. The Western Roman Empirewas the weaker empire
and a bad leadership and government along with attacks from barbarians led to the
demise of the Western Roman Empire.
However the Roman Empire was severely weakened by the fourth century and the
government was less capable of withstanding the barbarian attacks.

His murder in AD 192 was followed by a civil war by rivals to the throne. A series
of rulers under what was known as `The Severan Dynasty ensued. Lucian
Septimius Severus who became emperor in AD 193 severely weakened the
imperial defenses when he disbanded the Praetorian Guard and replaced them with
his own troops. While Rome remained a large empire there was a complete lack of
constitution. After Septimus Severus all power derived from the army, which led to
corruption in a quest for power. Between 235 and 284 there was a series of insane
emperors who were frequently assassinated.
Farmers who could not afford to pay the high taxes of the government fled their
land. Barbarians occupied this abandoned land. Anarchy and the decaying of trade
routes resulted in the decline of commerce. There was a devaluation of the currency,
which reduced the state to a barter economy. The burdens of taxation and poverty
crushed both the rural and urban masses resulting in widespread revolts. During the
third century there was a series of renegade armies, rebellions and foreign invasions.
This chaos brought the social and economic system to the point of collapse.
Extraordinary leadership came from Diocletian who ruled from 284 305. He
implemented a series of reforms such as his `Edict on Prices . He created what was

I Am A Woman With Amniotic Band Syndrome
For many years, my identity was fluid and varied on how I was perceived socially
and physically. There are various characteristics that attribute to my identity; I am
a Latina, I am a woman, and I also have a physical limitation. I was born with
Amniotic Band Syndrome, which is a Congenital Limb Deficiency. I wear a
prosthetic on my right arm every day. The word disabled implies that a person is
limited in movements, sense, or activities. I have never considered myself to truly
be disabled , but I do believe that I am the person that I am today because of the
barriers and challenges that I have overcome due to my physical limitation.
Growing up, there was always a physical difference between myself and my peers.
Many children wanted to put me in the category as the girl with one arm. I have
long strayed from that label, but I continue to struggle with the relationship
between my own identity and how I am perceived within society. When someone
who cannot see is labeled a blind person, for example, it creates the impression that
not being able to see sums up the entire person. Reducing people to a single
dimension of who they are separates and excludes them, marks them as other , as
different from normal (white, heterosexual, male, nondisabled) people therefor as
inferior. (Adams, 2013, p.15 21) Now that I am older, most people I meet do not
seem to describe who I am solely based on my physical difference. This was always
my biggest fear, I never

Well, this brings me to my second point, symptoms of procrastination. One of the
worst aspects of procrastination is postponement. When one is postponing an

What Is OCRA Is A Challenge-Response Algorithm
The initial one time password can be generated using an algorithm called OCRA
(OATH challenge response algorithm). OCRA is a challenge response algorithm
developed by Open Authentication (OATH) which generates a value, i.e. password

Plate Tectonics Essay
A plate tectonic is defined as a solid rock mass that builds up the Earth s surface.
The plate tectonic theory is a theory that geologists use to help explain the surface
processes and events. The word plate means large pieces of the earth that are always
in motion, lithosphere plates. Tectonics means how the continents formed and move
over time. This is the theory that most geologists accept as to what happened to our
continents. It states that Earth is made up of two layers, the lithosphere, outer, and
the inner asthenosphere. Lithosphere is made up different chemicals and uneven
rocks. They are however, very rigid and brittle. The lithosphere is made up of ten
major plates. Its major plates are the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When looking at this, it appears like two cars crashing into each other very slowly.
The front ends fold and bend with the edge of the continental plate folding into a
mountain range. You will also notice that the edge of the oceanic plate has bent
down. This makes the rock in both plates break and slip, causing earthquakes. As
the edge of the oceanic plate digs into Earth s hot interior, some of the rock in it
melts. Convergent boundaries are dangerous places to live. Some insist that with
careful planning and preparation, this land is livable. There are also divergent
boundaries where plates seem to come apart. When the lithosphere of Earth is
pulled apart, it tends to break and separate along the boundary. This is a slow
process. The block between the faults cracks and drops down into the
asthenosphere. The sinking of the block forms a rift and liquid rock fills the cracks.
New crust is formed along the boundary. Earthquakes occur near the faults with
volcanoes forming where the magma reaches the surface. When a divergent
boundary crosses the land, the rift valleys created are usually between 30 50 km
wide. One can see this in the East Africa rift in Kenya. There third boundary that
occurs is the transform boundary. This boundary is the least spectacular of them. This
boundary happens when plates slide past each other. This means that plates are not
tearing each other apart. The sliding motion of them does cause a lot of earthquakes.

Waste Land Assessment
Report
In this task we were required to collect, process and analyse field data, to investigate
the biological impact of trampling on two ecosystems, wastelands area and the
athletics track area. I found that on the athletics track where there was trampling and
mowing the plant organisms were short and in the quadrat 1 2 of the wasteland area
where there was no mowing the plant organisms were tall. In the wasteland area there
was more of a variety of organisms, was densely populated and a clear pattern of
distribution with more organisms being there. The light intensity was higher and the
pH was stronger on the athletics track.
We found on the grass on athletics track and wasteland was fescue. This is because it
has adaptations such as a deep root, that spreads with rhizomes. Fescue is adapted to
drought, wet soils, trampling, acid and can survive under limited fertility conditions.
Fescue has the adaptation that its growth point is close to the ground, therefore when

The wasteland area is surrounded by a fence and a tree, this provides shade, but on
the athletics track there is no objects that provide shade. The light readings in our
quadrats, with shade in the wasteland area were 26 lux and 77 lux and on the
athletics track, it was 478 lux. Because on the athletics track there is not shade, the
water evaporates and the chlorophyll dies because there is too much sunlight. This
means the fescue cannot absorb energy from the light and as much water, to
complete photosynthesis. The waste land has direct sunlight for some parts of the
day, but at some times of the day, the fence or the tree will provide shade. This
therefore means that the fescue and other organisms can grow easily as the water
will not evaporate and the chlorophyll will not die. This also explains why there are
more varieties of plants and more densely populated in the wastelands area then the

Literary Devices In A Small Place
Gentle waves, lush greenery, and sun soaked beaches, Antigua embodies your ideal
holiday destination. But Jamaica Kincaid turns your paradise upside down in her new
memoir A Small Place. Using her pen as a sword, Kincaid slashes Antigua s façade
of perfection into shreds and presses the blade against the throats of tourism,
colonialism and corruption. Many denounce Kincaid s latest book as an over attack,
her gaze too penetrating and intimidating. The tone of voice continuously shifts
throughout the memoir, starting from sardonic, manifesting into anger, to slowly
conclude in melancholy. Though particular accusations, such as when the narrator
cruelly rejects you as an ugly thing , may upset the readers, Kincaid purposely
provokes reactions of defensiveness and guilt to challenge us... Show more content on

The autobiographical novel maintains its poetic form through repetition, alliteration,
and rhythm. As Kincaid writes, ...for no real sunset could look like that; no real
seawater could strike that many shades of blue at once; no real sky could be that
shade of blue... This charm lulls and immobilizes the reader, such that Kincaid s
narration graduates from the victim of such transformative power to a practitioner in
her own right. The mystical form powerfully mixes with historical content, opening
up new possibilities for discussions that extend the political argument beyond the
metaphysical. Indeed, the deceptive simplicity of diction and the finely controlled
syntax examine Antigua s clouded process of existence with incisive clarity. An
emotionally truthful, intimate, and poignant piece, A Small Placedemonstrates the
author s conflicting attitudes of love and disappointment towards her birthplace. As
Covi praises, Reading A Small Place is like looking at the sea: the message is carried

Analysis Of Body Like A Back Road
Throughout history, there has always been some form of music; however, the form
and style have changed over time. During the twentieth century, the gap between
classical music and the popular music widened, as people picked more of what
they thought sounded pleasant. One of the popular styles today is country and an
example is Body Like a Back Road by Sam Hunt, which was released in February
2017 as a single from his upcoming album. Body Like a Back Road is a song that
has a complex and changing texture which is created by varied musical elements and
composition throughout the piece. Throughout Body Like a Back Road, the texture
shifts depending on the section and the topic. Texture in musicis defined as the
combination of musical parts to compose the overall feeling and sound of a piece.
The first portion of the song has a texture that is average for the piece, which sets
the overall jovial mood for the whole song. This mood is caused by the overlapping
of instruments and the rhythm. The main melody is played by an electric guitar,
which is then layered with the acoustic guitar. There is also an organ, drums, and
some background chatter which hooks the listener to listen to the song and makes
them want to join whatever else is going on. As the song goes into the first verse,
extra percussion and some bass was added which makes it a more dense texture.
Also, the tune shifts to a more hip hop feel rather than a classic country feeling
which draws in the listener as
Figurative Language In Yeats s The Wild Swans At Coole
Mysterious, beautiful are words that spring to mind in regard to Yeats poetry. There
is no denying the complexity of some of his poetry much like this quote from the
Wild Swans at Coole many of his poems have both a literal and figurative meaning. I
found some aspects of Yeats poetry quite challenging at times, on the other hand, I
found that he also had the ability to get complex ideas across using both direct and
accessible language.
Yeats use of figurative language and metaphor baffled me at first. His poems are
bursting with symbols, which must be deciphered in order to get to the core of the
poem. There is no doubt that this can be difficult, but it can also be very rewarding.
An apt example of this is Sailing to Byzantium (SB), ... Show more content on

This predominant autobiographical quality of his work makes his poems thought
provoking it gives the reader an insight into the reality of the poets life. The poet also
talks about his life with a determined honesty, sometimes resulting in an unflattering
portrait of himself, adds to this appeal. The final section of the second stanza in E16
deals with Major John MacBride. Yeats despised this man. He was married to Maud
Gonne, the loves of Yeats life. Despite the personal animosity, which Yeats had
towards MacBride, he admires his actions and sacrifices. He had done most bitter
wrong to some who are near my heart, yet I number him in the song . This adds a
personal aspect to the poem E16. The poem WSC is a deeply personal poem that
discusses unrequited love. This poem evoked a sadness in me as I sympathised
with Yeats. There s something terribly tragic about the fact that in nineteen short
years he has gone from being a young man who trod with a lighter tread , a man
with all the possibilities of the world stretching before him, to one whose heart is
sore . I definitely felt like there was a lesson for me there

Be A Positive Influence There are many significant events in my life I could write

Sophomores. It was PD2, or Health, and it was best for my schedule to take this

letter for our dream jobs, all to prepare for mock interviews (a fake job interview).
Going into this interview I was pretty nervous just because I had to make

who I pictured he d be. He was very old, probably late 60 s, retired, and I could see
the wisdom in his eyes. He began with asking me the interview questions and I

marriages. Today, more than ever, young Chinese wish to seek true love with a
partner of their choosing, rather than the old tradition of a mate being selected for
them by the individuals parents. This new adaptation of the old Chinese tradition
has not set well with the older generations. The older generation suggests upon
hand picking their children s mates, because they believe it will provide a sense of
the financial stability ; specifically for young Chinese females. This idea is
expressed in the video by a young lady named Wei Zhanyan. This young Chinese
individual is struggling to live on her own, forced to make ends meet with a mere
salary of forty cents an hour at a cellular phone factory. Although out on her own, it
doesn t stop her parents from pushing an arranged marriage on Wei. Like many other
young Chinese today, she feels extremely pressured to oblige her parent s wishes. to
heed the old . As a result, young Chinese are becoming very confused when they see
other cultures and countries marrying for love. They see how content these
Facts On Cocaine Essay
Cocaine is a powerful central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that heightens
alertness, inhibits appetite and the need for sleep, and provides intense feelings of
pleasure. It is prepared from the leaf of the Erythroxylon coca bush, which grows
primarily in Peru and Bolivia.
Street dealers dilute it with inert (non psychoactive) but similar looking substances
such as cornstarch, talcum powder, and sugar, or with active drugs such as procaine
and benzocaine (used as local anesthetics), or other CNS stimulants such as
amphetamines. Nevertheless, illicit cocaine has actually become purer over the years;
according to RCMP figures, in 1988 its purity averaged about 75%.
With repeated administration over time, users experience the drug s ... Show more

A gram of powder cocaine may cost between $20 $100, while crack rocks can be
found for as little as $5 10 each.
Powder cocaine is processed with many volatile solvents, such as kerosene, benzene,
and gasoline, and these poisons can remain in the cocaine found on the street. In
addition, dealers on the street may cut or combine the cocaine with other substances,
like talcum powder, amphetamines, anesthetics, and other substances that may bring
the purity down and cause unwanted side effects.
Cocaine use can cause dilated pupils, nausea, headaches, sweating, increased heart
rate, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, loss of appetite, and seizures. Cocaine speeds
up the heart by stimulating the same nerves that cause fear causing the heart to beat
erratically or stop.
Cocaine also shrinks the peripheral blood vessels and places extra pressure on the
heart and circulatory system. These effects can lead to heart attacks, strokes, brain
seizures, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure in otherwise healthy people. New and
chronic users can die suddenly. In Texas, 200 300 cocaine overdose deaths due to
cocaine use have been reported each year.
Chronic use of cocaine can
The Importance Of The Second Amendment To The
United...
Do you know what function the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution
actually serves? No, it is not so that people can go hunting or protect themselves
against personal assault. Neither is it a stupid, brainless provision that some
lamebrain slipped into the Constitution.
Like a shield of freedom, it is one of the primary reasons that the United States
Constitution still stands.
As one who is not a gun owner, I treasure the Second Amendment. It is one of our best
safeguards against tyranny, not from foreign governments, but from our own.
This amendment reads, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a
free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The militia written of here is a volunteer army that basically provides its own
weapons. That is, these are soldiers who are already armed, who already have their
own guns.
In The Federalist Papers, the authors wrote of concerns that a standing army could
lead to tyranny (loss of freedom), so the Second Amendment was conceived in such a
way that the U.S. could have an army at need, and would not have to have a large
standing army. This was so that the national government would not threaten our
freedom. (Trust me; it s in there.)
There are historical examples of governments wanting to tighten their controls over
the people, so they went out and disarmed the people (like the sword hunt in Japan),
or made it illegal for them to own weapons (there are
Alice In Wonderland Essay
As we read Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and The Island of Dr. Moreau, we
enter into two unique worlds of imagination. Both Lewis Carroll and H.G. Wells
describe lands of intrigue and mystery. We follow Alice and Prendick into two
different worlds where animals speak, evolution is tested, and reality is bent until it
nearly breaks. It is the masterminds of Lewis Carroll and H.G. Wellsthat take these
worlds of fantasy and make them realistic. How do these two great authors make the
unbelievable believable? Both Alice s Adventures in Wonderlandand The Island of
Dr. Moreaufloat in between a dream world and reality, which makes the real seem
unbelievable and the unbelievable seem real.
In H.G. Wells s The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is later in the story, where reality really becomes deformed. First, Prendick is
locked out of the inner rooms of the enclosure, because of their little secrets.
Second, Prendick walks out into the woods to get away from the puma s crying. It
is hear that he gets a good look at one of the deformities for the first time. Then I
saw it was a man, going on all fours like a beast! (pg. 38). It is this sight that sends
Prendick s imagination wild. The thicket about me became altered to my
imagination. Every shadow became something more than a shadow, became an
ambush, every rustle became a threat. Invisible things seemed watching me (pg.
39). It is these emotions of Prendick s that make the unbelievable seem real. He has
gone from a sane man with some studies in science to a man who fears the shadows
and sees men walk on all fours. The dream state of everything at this time keeps us
believing that anything is possible.
This is the same technique that Lewis Carroll uses in Alice s Adventures in
Wonderland. The story begins with Alice getting tired, which implies that she is
falling asleep and going to enter the fantastic world of dreams. Immediately, she sees
a white rabbit in a waistcoat. This puts the reader directly into the world of fantasy
and imagination. It is Carroll s use of explanations that makes this unbelievable world
seem real. No matter how strange something appears it has a
The Key University ( Tku ) Data Breach Case Study
Introduction
This analysis discusses some issues and requirements to correct these issues that are
outlined in the Turn Key University (TKU) data breach case study. In addition to
these issues and requirements, some applicable laws will be discussed and some
controls will be suggested for implementation.
Issues
Currently there are virtually no information security policies in place. Additionally,
there are no formal processes or procedures in place for many tasks that are
performed on the network. There is also no formal training for anyone, including the
administrators and basic users.
1. Governing Policies
There are no policies governing the TKU network except for one policy relating to
printing reports and that policy is routinely ignored. Without policies to guide the
users and administrators of the system it is impossible to discourage unwanted
behaviors such as users routinely sharing network credentials. Additionally, the
administrators have been inconsistently managing the network due to differences in
knowledge, training, and requirements that can only be addressed with direct
guidance in the form of policies.
2. Administrator Transitions
At this time there is no formal transition process or training for new system
administrators. This combination of poor administrator training and a lack of
guidance perpetuated a weak security posture that is still an issue. The three current
administrators have a year or less of experience managing the TKU system and
received
Free Association And Dream Analysis Essay
In addition, psychoanalysis underlines the unconscious and conscious mind by using a
technique called free association. Free association is when a patient verbalizes
whatever comes
to mind in that exact moment (Freud Bonaparte, 1954). Freud mentioned that this
will eventually lead to thoughts, feelings, and emotions associated with unconscious
conflict (1954).
The analyst is expected to help the patient interpret content to free association and
reflect them
back to the client (Freud Bonaparte, 1954). Both free association and dream analysis
are
techniques used to discover a person s unconscious urges. Freud was convinced that
dreams
represented unsatisfied wishes that may be unacceptable to the conscious mind and

He lived the majority of his life
in Vienna and when his family relocated, he was only four years old (Sigmund Freud
Biography,
2015). His main focus was treating patients who suffered from psychological
disorders. This
started him on his journey of human experiences and understanding dreams with the
unconscious
and conscious mind. He defined consciousness as the state of someone knowing they
are awake
and active in the movement of memories and sudden impulses (Sigmund Freud
Biography,
2015). He define unconsciousness as a holder of thoughts, desires, feelings, and
memories
outside of one s conscious awareness (Sigmund Freud Biography, 2015). Combining
the
unconscious and conscious mind led him to better grasp the ideology of dreams.
As we already know, Freud made the greatest contribution to understanding dreams.
The
theories began when both he and Carl Jung worked together to investigate and
contribute in the
dream theory. Carl Jung was also an original founder of psychology who gave
constructive interpretations about dreams. Sigmund Freud was his mentor or so
called teacher who advised
him throughout his psychological journey. Jung examined dreams and made them a
Gopher Tortoise Research Paper
There are four species of tortoise that are located on the North America continent
only the gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) can be found in the southeastern
portion of the United States. The gopher tortoise reside only from the south end of
South Carolina to the eastern side of Louisiana (McCoy et al, 1993). They are
federally protect because they are on the brink of extinction. A collaborate piece
published by the University of Notre Dame found, in the past decade about 80% of
the gopher tortoise has cease to exist starting form urbanization to natural disasters

gopher tortoise s eggs are eaten by coyotes, snakes, cats, and some other
carnivorous animals. Gopher tortoise can live as long as 60 years. They are
ectothermic so they favor places with direct sunlight. Joan E. Diemer agrees that the
gopher tortoise most optimal habitat would consist of loose soil for digging
burrows, vegetation for food, and plenty of sunlight (as cited in Auffenberg and
Franz, 1982; Hallinan, 1923; Landers, 1980). Besides, being ectothermic their diet

Acne Research Paper
cne cases are an exceptionally typical and distressing condition which impacts the
skin s oil glands. The small holes within your skin (pores) connect to oil glands
beneath the skin. These glands create an oily compound called sebum. The pores
get connected to the glands by a canal known as a follicle. In the follicles, oil carries
dead skincells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle
and out to the skin. Once the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, the pimple begins
developing. Most pimples are found normally on the face, neck, back, chest and
shoulders but they can develop practically anywhere. Acne can be unsightly and in
rare cases permanent skin damage however it s never deadly. Acne develops once the
hair, sebum and skin cells clump with each other to form a plug. A bacterium
develops inside the plug which causes inflammation. When the plug starts wearing
down, a pimple comes out.

The Use Of Nanopolymers For Biomedical Purposes
Statement of the problem:
The driving forces behind this work are related to the increased use of nanopolymers
for biomedical purposes. Charged and neutral polymers are routinely used for gene
and drug delivery. However, limited studies are performed to test their safety.
Therefore, the originality of this work lies in its attempt to evaluate the toxicity of
three widely used polymers for delivery of chemotherapeutic agents. Furthermore, we
aim to establish efficient methods for nanotoxicity testing through comparing the
results of three different models ( 2D, 3D invitro cell cultures and invivo zebrafish
embryo)preparing these materials for clinical application.
Abstract
Nanomaterials exhibit a wide range of applications in different aspects of human
life . In biomedical fields, nanoparticles are packaged into different nanocarriers for
drug and gene delivery especially for improving the delivery of chemotherapeutic
agents to tumors. However, no sufficient data that detect their toxicity. In the present
study, the toxicity of three different polymers that represent promising drug carriers
will be evaluated using 2D, 3D cell cultures and zebrafish embryos. The polymers to
be studie include the well known cationic transfection agents Poly(ethylenimine)
(PEI) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) for their established cytotoxicity as well as
the uncharged drug carrier material pHPMA (i.e. poly(N 2 hydroxypropyl)
methacrylamide), Poly(ethylene glycol) b poly(N (2 hydroxypropyl)

Jefferson s Expedition On The Louisiana Territory
The Louisiana Purchase
While Thomas Jefferson was president, France and Spain secretly signed a treaty
which returned ownership of the Louisiana Territory, back to France. When word
reached Jefferson, the entire state of Washington erupted, because of the fact that the
United States had spent thousands of dollars, in food goods, and shipped them into
New Orleans located in the Louisiana Territory.
Jefferson urged and instructed James Monroe and Robert Livingston, to offer $10
million to Napoleon, the French militia commander and chief of France, in an
attempt to purchase New Orleans from France. However, due to financial bankruptcy
and on the verge of war with Britain, Napoleon offered a proposition to Jefferson,

The president and congress authorized for army officers Meriwether Lewis,
Jefferson s personal secretary, and William Clark, to head an expedition. Lewis and
Clark would need a guide, someone who knew the lands and one who could bring
them home safely.
While visiting an Indian village near modern day Bismarck in North Dakota, Lewis
and Clark s expedition crossed paths with a young Indian woman named Sacajawea,
Who had been kidnapped from her home land plantation called the Shoshones, in the
Western Territory. Lewis and Clark offered Sacajawea and her husband to join their
expedition as their guide, and to gain friendships with the different Indian tribes; she
saw it as an opportunity to see her people once again, and accepted.
May 14, 1804, finally the expedition, with approximately fifty companions, departed
from St. Louis. The party followed the Missouri River, through Dakota, Montana,
and over the Rocky Mountains. By December 1805, they had travelled the Colombia
River and reached the Pacific Sea. Lewis and Clark saw wonders that no other
American had seen before. On their journey home Sacajawea and her husband stayed,

The Virgin Atlantic Essay examples
The Virgin Atlantic is providing jobs to wishful applicants that were interested in
joining them. But before proceeding further, let we explain what the definition of
employed and unemployed is. In this sense, the employed are the one who currently
have job meanwhile, the unemployed are those who currently do not have jobs, and
together with the unemployed, they create the labor force (O Sullivan, Sheffrin,
Perez, 2010). From the micro economical perspective, the company is contributing to
the country production in terms of providing employment through their airline
business. In fact, the more that they employ, the more they contribute to the
marginalization of the employed and the unemployed. For example, a successful

For example, the flight that Virgin Atlantic provides to Asian countries will
contribute to the nation tourism aspects. Foreign tourist from the Europe and all
perhaps from all over the world will come to Asian countries. This will boom the
tourism industry in the particular country. This will develop the infrastructure of
the country itself (Tucker, 2010). In terms of employment, especially that rely on
tourism industry, more and more labour will be needed. Hence, the requirement for
workers will increase. Job seekers around the world will come to that country to
seek for job. In fact, the local people themselves will need to compete with foreign
workers to get the job. Hotels for example, will be built and increased from time to
time.
Other than that, there s another effort that has been doing by Virgin Groupon aviation
industry especially Virgin Blue. They was looking as far and give attention to the side
of work management as their low cost airlines strategies. The implementation of the
works management strategies was included to all among the staff which was to

Effectiveness Of A Volunteer Team Group Structure
Our intervention occurred at the group level, where we also needed to consider the
inputs, design components and outputs in order to do group level diagnosis. Here
we looked at goal clarity, task structure, functioning of the group, composition, and
performance norms. Ward s volunteer team group structure deviated widely from
most for profit companies: the design components are all loosely defined. Because
Ward teams depend on volunteers it is more challenging to hold teams to any kind of
performance measures. We also looked at the individual level design components:
tasks identity, significance, autonomy, variety, and feedback. Here, too, it is difficult
to hold members to performance standards. Although we concluded that the group
level performance gap was largely a result of inadequate communication, individual
outputs were also not as desired. Volunteers varied in performance; however, you
couldn t fire them. There were no repercussions for absenteeism. They lacked KSA s
and often motivation to do a good job. Showing up was the highest expectation.
Understanding all of the organizational, group and individual inputs, design
components and outputs is critical to determine effectiveness. In most companies
with HR, the OD professional would likely need to work with HR to gain this
knowledge. HR is a source of data and has experience working with line managers
and staff, or at least offers a different perspective. Here is one area where the push
pull between the OD

  • 2. Nikko Jenkins Case Study One current event that I see very often in the newspaper is the case about Nikko Jenkins. Jenkins was deemed mentally incompetent for sentencing and the decision was made because of the seriousness of his crimes that he would housed in the prison instead of the state s psychiatric hospital. This hospital does not have proper security to ensure that he couldn t escape. He could get psychiatric treatment in prison. This to me shows that a mental hospital is not for everyone even if they are mentally ill. The crimes that Jenkins committed right after he got out of prison for another crimewere very evil and we should ensure the safety of our citizens. It is my opinion that Jenkins might not have gotten the proper treatment in prison before he
  • 3. The Crack Of The Bat Short Story The Crack of the Bat Crack!! Leah just loved the feel of the vibrating bat, but to start this story right you have to start from the beginning. Leah was a loveable, spunky, happy girl who was nervous about trying out for the softball team. Leah was so excited she loved to play sports, but before Leah could do that she had to focus on her school work. You see she was having trouble in Math. The next day she went to the smelly school and the day went on like any other. First period which was Tech, second and third period which was Star, fourth period which was Science, fifth period which was Language Arts, sixth period which Lunch, seventh period which was Social Studies, and was eighth period, Math. Leah was getting ready to leave when her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hand said sadly. I am so sorry. Why? she asked. On the last 3 tests you got a 1, Mrs. Hand exclaimed empathetically, Do you want to stay after and make them up tomorrow? I will have to talk to my parents, Leah said unhappily. Oh no! They will be really mad at me. I will just have to tell the truth. On the bus she was running a bunch of ideas through her head of just what to say. For example, Mom and Dad I need to talk to you, I took some math tests and I didn t do so well I will retake them tomorrow if you are okay with that. I am sorry I will take a consequence if you are going to give me one. Or Mom and Dad I took some tests and didn t get a good grade I will retake them tomorrow and get a better grade, I am sorry. Leah got home and said, Mom and Dad I need to talk to you, I took some math tests and I didn t do so well, I will retake them tomorrow if you are okay with that. I am sorry, I will take any consequence if you are going to give me one. Her Mom and Dad said, Okay we will not be giving you a punishment but you better get those grades up! Leah s mother went off to make supper and her father asked, What are you working on maybe we can
  • 4. The Value Of Taking Responsibility Essay The Value in Taking Responsibility During the late 1800 s and early 1900 s a series of laws and campaigns were instated to prevent forest fires. It was believed that forest fires would greatly damage the timber industry due to the loss of trees the forests would suffer as a result. The longer these campaigns persisted, the worse the forest fire breakouts became, and the forests continued to degrade. Many animals were also displaced and threatened as a result of these intense fires. Eventually forestry researchers and conservationists started looking at what fires did to the various ecosystems. They found that fires actually promote the growth of healthier, stronger trees by burning the weak trees and providing more nutrients for the soil. By suppressing fires, the forests experienced large amounts of degradation, and many animals were threatened by the loss of sustainable habitats. Controlled burns every few years actually benefits all the organisms living in that ecosystem, however, in some places it s nearly impossible to burn. After so many years of fire suppression the leaf litter has accumulated to such large amounts that any fire started would burn to hot and high for the forest to survive. Humaninterests often times have profound affects on the world around them. There are many instances like the above example in which peoples own self interests end up hurting and degrading the environment around them. In the aftermath of events such as this, there are many
  • 5. The Nsa s National Security Agency The National Security Agency s (NSA) warrantless collection of metadata has been questioned on constitutional grounds. Specifically, the NSA s program has been argued to be in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, which states that all citizens are to be free from any unreasonable search or seizure. Proponents of the NSA s collection of metadata believe that it is a crucial tool in preventing terrorist attacks, while opponents of the program believe that its questionable constitutional validity, along with its lack of clear success in preventing a single terrorist attack, leaves the NSA s metadata collection program in desperate need of reform or outright abolishment. I.THE NSA S PURPOSE AND THE EVOLUTION OF GOVERNMENT SURVEILLANCE It is important to note what the NSA is tasked to do before discussing the constitutional arguments against its metadata program. As Abdulmajeed Alhogbani, in his work, Going Dark: Scratching the Surface of Government Surveillance, informs, the agency has two tasks: 1) information assurance, which prevents foreign agents from obtaining classified information, and 2) signals intelligence, which collects and analyzes foreign intelligence (475). Metadata collection does not fall under either of these tasks. Prior to the establishment of the National Security Agency in 1952, the earliest surveillance measure enacted in the United States was the Communications Act of 1934, which centralized the regulatory process of
  • 6. Finding My Identity Essay Having an identity and finding yourself isn t always the easiest task to do, luckily I think I ve found myself and I m proud with the way I am and carry myself. Now, most people might not think that my outlook is the best way to go through life but fortunately I don t care what people think of me. I like standing out and being different but not in a very noticeable way; I am a regular guy, I m weird, random, odd and extraordinary and I ve really embraced the fact that I m pretty apathetic. I ve become this individual that really doesn t care about any outside opinions; as long as I feel comfortable with myself and what I m doing, everything s okay. I m not really a religious person, my family is Catholic and although I do go to church every now and then, I don t consider myself to be devoted to a higher power. I don t even believe we will all be judged when we die and let into a nice place called heaven. I think that whenever a person dies they re just reborn in a hospital somewhere in the world, I don t know where I picked up this idea but it seems about right to me. Education is a very important factor in the lives of many people but, personally, I think everyone in the world should rely on their basic instincts. When teachers try to get through to me, I think that blocks them out. I learn better and get a good grasp on things when there s no one around. I can concentrate better and get the work that needs to be done finished. Work should be handed to each person equally because everybody needs money. Everybody should be given a shot at a job without being judged on their appearance or their way of life. In my life, I haven t accomplished a lot except I passed the CAHSEE on my first try, if you can count that as an accomplishment. Right now I am set on getting my high school diploma because even though people should use their natural instincts, I think I ll really need a diploma to have a better life. In conclusion, the way I live my life is very particular, I don t give much attention to anyone and I don t like to receive much
  • 7. Minority Teachers This article whose focus was on minority teacher candidates in teacher education programs presented an argument that schools with increased numbers of minority teachers will have a richer multicultural knowledge base, stronger roles models, and more shared experiences between students and teachers, and greater numbers of insider experiences that help build bridges between cultures (Szecsi Spillman, 2012). The article touched on a few of the hindrances , like low pay and standardized test difficulties, but the purpose the article was to help readers gain an understanding of how minorities in teacher educationprograms feel about their journey to becoming a teacher. The article showcased a study of three minority students in a teacher education... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The interaction with students that looked like me and shared experiences like me was one of the most awesome times of my college career. It was also nice to have professors that looked like me and speaking with them about their personal experiences of things many of us can only read about in history books. My experience in college is what students need to experience in their schools and in their classrooms. The participants in the study noted the same feelings as well. There was a connection that they could make with the students and their parents. This by far was the best article that I read because it was personal and I was able to connect more with what these students felt while going through the program. It made me think of all the things that I would have to do in order to recruit minority students to my building when I have one. How would I or would I be able to change the demographics of my building to mirror the demographics of my students? In my opinion the information contained in this article is reliable because it is authentic information from minority teachers during their time and struggle while learning how to become a teacher. I thought the article remained objective throughout and the points presented not only need to be heard by school leaders but by non minority teachers. The goal of this source is to inform schools, both secondary and post secondary, how and what should be done to attract and retain minorities to teacher education

Lack of sleep and alcohol are also common in unhealthy lifestyles. Some people are even born into families that have unhealthy habits such as smoking. The most common causes of an unhealthy lifestyle are an unhealthy diet, substance abuse and sexual promiscuity. To improve life, those unhealthy ways should change to eat healthy, avoid substance abuse, and promiscuity. First, American people nowadays have unhealthy diets, especially teenagers, children and young adults. Some eat too much junk food, and there are so many fast food restaurants on every corner. • 11. Race In America Race is one of many key factors that influence the historic relationship between classes, ethnicity, immigrants, bodies, and the state, specifically when it comes to notions of citizenship. The articles, Perils of Degeneration, Hygiene and The Indian Problem , Nationalizing Children through Schools and Hygiene, Puffy, Ugly, Slothful and Inert , and The Vice Trust, all point to the function of popular perceptions of race in society, specifically how individuals are classified based on certain racial markers. All of these articles surround the theme in which notions of race influenced political and social responses in both the United Statesand Latin America. More often than not, these articles help us discover that, citizenship tends to be confused and misidentified with race. Ann Zulawski highlights this particularly well in her account of late nineteenth century Latin American and its conversations surround public health in the public sphere. • 12. Oklahoma City Bombing Essay On April 19th, 1995 a homemade bomb made of a concoction of agricultural fertilizer, fuel, and other dangerous chemicals was left in a truck parked outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City. At 9:02 in the morning, it s blast damaged over 300 buildings surrounding the vehicle and even flattened a third of the federal building. (Strom, 2015) The bomb took the lives of 168 people, including 19 children. It was found that two men, Timothy McVeighand Terry Lynn Nichols were the ones who planted the device. Both men were found to be associated with a radical militia movement that sought revenge for a siege in Waco, Texas two years prior. The siege killed 82 Branch Davidians, of whom, multiple were related to the militia movement. McVeigh and Nichols saw an opportunity to destroy a building full of innocent people, because of their extremist mindset. They decided tp destroy a building full of innocent people who work because of their extremist ways. Something that was seemingly odd was that McVeigh was a Persian Gulf war veteran and Nichols was his military friend. A third man whose name was Michael Fortier also had information regarding the detonation of the bomb at the building, Fortier later plead guilty for harboring information of the explosion. In the days following the explosion, the Federal Bureau of Investigation had little trouble finding the ones responsible. Though it would prove incomprehensible to the families who lost loved ones to move on

The Pony Express was the way people in the 1800 s got their mail, but was retired when telegraph lines started to sprout in the American West. Our United States Postal Service is how people now receive their letters, packages, and cards. The term Pony Express recieved its name because mail was delivered by horses traveling for hundreds of miles. Only 180 men were hired for this very important job. The route of the Pony Express stretched from Missouri to California. Obstacles encountered were the drastic changes of weather. Sandy deserts, ridgid mountains, and grassy plains were few types of the different landscapes. Nearly

Hinton is about the fighting between the Socs and Greasers, which takes place in Oklahoma. It tells the story of the struggles among the groups and what they think is right and wrong with society. One character that stands out in the story is Johnny, because he is a dynamic character who changes from being shy and quiet, to being a hero and a round character because he has many personality traits such as being shy, quiet, and heroic. Johnny can be described as scared, quiet, and heroic. Johnny can be described as scared for many reasons. An example is when he was in the hospital and was scared of dying. On page 121, he says I don t want to die now. It aint long enough. Sixteen years aint long enough. This shows Johnny was scared and not ready to die, because his sixteen years on the streets he had learned and seen all the wrong things. Another example is when Johnny gets scared when the Socs come down the road in their mustang. Page 31, Ponyboy tells how Johnny started breathing heavily and was staring at the Socs hand, who was wearing three rings. Therefore, that is why Johnny is scared everywhere he goes because he fears getting jumped by the Socs again. From these examples it is clear that Johnny is scared of dying... Another example is when he was with Ponyboy at the movie and they were sitting by the Soc girls and he was being quiet. On page 24, it says Johnny managed a shy Hi to the girls and tried to watch the movie. This means Johnny was quiet and always nervous around strangers. As you can see Johnny is extremely quiet and doesn t say much around
  • 16. Alan Turing s Enigma Code During World War II, Nazi Germany killed around 20,946,000 men, women, and children from multiple countries and backgrounds (R.J. Rummel). This war was just as horrid and unthinkable as any other. Millions of people suffered, towns were destroyed, and society lived in an all consuming fear. Germany was successful with most of their plans of destruction, and part of that came from their unsolvable Enigma code. Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician, worked with other intellectuals to figure out how to crack it. They were triumphant. Although the end of WWII can be attributed to many things, Alan Turing s solving of the Enigma code was what allowed the Allies to have the ultimate advantage because they could understand German plans and war... With German invasion imminent in 1939, the Poles opted to share their secrets with the British, and Britain s Government Code and Cipher School (also known as GC CS) Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire, became the centre for Allied efforts to keep up with dramatic war induced changes in Enigma output. (Andrew Lycett, BBC.co.uk) If the Allies had access to decoded German communication, then they would have the upper hand. The Germans were so confident in the Enigma code that they used it to encrypt most all of their messages during the war. Since it was a difficult and sensitive task, Bletchley Park needed Britain s best minds to work together. He (Alan Turing) was already working part time for the British Government s Code and Cypher School before the Second World War broke out. In 1939, Turing took up a full time role at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire (Imperial War Museums). Alan Turing was a very intelligent mathematician and at this point, he was proving this to many others. His genius was exactly what this problem needed. After Britain declared war on Germany, they immediately sent people to work on cracking the Enigma. It was believed to be an impossible task, and yet they put their best efforts into working on it with the help of
  • 17. Essay about Creation Science Creationism is a religious metaphysical theory about the origin of the universe. It is not a scientific theory. Technically, creationism is not necessarily connected to any particular religion. It simply requires a belief in a Creator. Millions of Christians and non Christians believe there is a Creator of the universe and that scientific theories such as the the theory of evolutiondo not conflict with belief in a Creator. However, fundamentalist Christians such as Ronald Reagan and Jerry Falwell, have co opted the term creationism and it is now difficult to refer to creationism without being understood as referring to fundamentalist Christians who (a) take the stories in Genesis as accurate accounts of the origin of the universe and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That theory is quite distinct from the fact of evolution. Other scientists have different theories of evolution, but only a negligible few deny the fact of evolution. Gish is not doing science when he argues against the fact of evolution. He has no interest in scientific facts or theories. His interest is in apologetics: defending the faith against what he sees as attacks on God s Truth. All his arguments are defensive; they are attempts to show that the evidence does not support the scientific fact of evolution. Creationists, mistaking the uncertain in science for the unscientific, see the debate among evolutionists regarding how best to explain evolution as a sign of weakness. Scientists, on the other hand, see uncertainty as simply an inevitable element of scientific knowledge. They regard debates on fundamental theoretical issues as healthy and stimulating. Science, says evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould, is quot;most fun when it plays with interesting ideas, examines their implications, and recognizes that old information may be explained in surprisingly new ways. quot; Thus, through all the debate over evolutionary mechanisms biologists have not been led to doubt that evolution has occurred. quot;We are debating how it happened, quot; says Gould (1983, p.256). Creation science, on the other hand, is not science but pseudoscience and it is connected to a particular group of fundamentalist Christians. Most Christians,

The Traditional Use study Traditional Use Studies have been developed in research to study mainly the land occupancy laws and the impacts of Traditional Land Use on the aboriginal community in Canada. The primary purpose of Traditional Use Studies is to examine the Canadian First National and indigenous people around the world, and used in gathering knowledge about the contemporary and traditional land uses of the communities. For the last quarter of the century, Canada?s Aboriginal peoples have long documented the extent in which they have used traditional resources and lands both since and before the settlement of Europeans. Interest in better forest management, consultation requirements, the protection of Aboriginal and treaty rights, forest certification, and government policies requirements all contribute to the expanding interest in traditional land use. However, collecting knowledge and information about Aboriginal peoples land use, and forest management?s integration has not been straightforward. While recognizing the benefits of this process of information collection, the Aboriginal peoples have been increasingly concerned about the ways in which their knowledge is being utilized. Financers, supporters, and forestry companies are increasingly concerned about guaranteeing access to this data and efficient methods of integrating it into forest planning and management. Traditional land use is a means for governments to protect the interests of land for the Aboriginal peoples but have been apprehensive about their probable impact on their capability of using and controlling access to Crown lands. All parties involved recognized that Traditional Land Use studies have become a vital instrument for Aboriginal peoples striving to declare priori claims to the lands the Aboriginal peoples have variably occupied, and to generate avenues in which the Aboriginal peoples can negotiate roles in the management of the land. In spite of the numerous studies to be developed, there has yet to be a
  • 19. Of Pico Della Mirandola s Oration On The Dignity Of Man Pico della Mirandola was an Italian philosopher who mastered many languages and traditions. He wrote the Oration on the Dignity of Man, which explores the idea that men have the ability to control their destiny. He introduces the idea that God has bestowed the gift of free will upon men; this was a new idea in the 15th century. Mirandola speaks of a new and different God; a God unlike the medieval, punishing, and cruel one portrayed in earlier times. This work was written for the public even though it was not published during Mirandola s lifetime. It is historically significant because of its opposition to the societal norms of God as the controller of destiny and proved to be a very influential and revolutionary work. Mirandola makes this point most specifically in the last paragraph of his work by stating, To him it is granted to have whatever he chooses, to be whatever he wills. Beasts as soon as they are born bring with them from their mother s womb all they will ever possess (Mirandola 9). This passage is significant because it is stating that when man is born, he possesses all he can ever possibly be, and that it is up to him to decide the type of person he will become. God has planted the seeds for his life and it is within his free will to decide if he will be happy or rational or brutish. This idea of choosing one s own happiness was revolutionary during the 15th century because it was previously though that God controlled man s happiness, and if a man was unhappy it should be interpreted as God s punishment. This free will gave men the ability to create their own environments and systems without the hand of God, therefore granting them the ability to change things and choose their own

The top management forms the basic foundation of an organization when they set the primary goals for that organization, the reason the organization is in business. An example might be an American car company with the goal of producing vehicles for the public and bringing in large profits for the shareholders. This goal is derived in the root cultural tenant of capitalism. The United States was founded with capitalist ideas and so American managers will have capitalist ideas. Now the same type of company in the Soviet Union, before the end of the cold war, may have had the goal of producing efficient military vehicles, not being concerned about the profit margin rather the purpose of the product. This goal would have been derived from the socialist belief of all things are for the good of the state. As the influence of culture affects the direction of the company, it also affects the interaction between the managers and the employees. In the example of the American auto plant, the interaction between manager and employee was one based on western ideas of supervision and motivation. Today these ideas are changing. As people of other races and other ethnic groups continue to emigrate, they will bring even more diversity and lifestyle changes to the United States. Three factors have

  • 26. Public Education Is A Continuing Urban Challenge For Many... Meeting the general standards that constitute sufficient public education is a continuing urban challenge for many cities. Of particular interest is the city of Detroit, who s deteriorating school buildings have become a national focus in recent years. The public education system in Detroit has continued to disappoint, and stands as a strong example of some the problems with public education that inner city residents face. However, is it the inner city itself that is the cause of the problem? Or a host of other institutional and social factors related to city life? In part, we can answer this question by comparing and contrasting Detroit s urban school district with Johnston Iowa s suburban school district. One way to assess the overall productivity of a particular school district is to evaluate the results of annual standardized testing enforced by the No Child Left Behind Act. The results of these tests are measured the same across the country using the National Assessment of Education Progress (336). Because the results are calculated against the same standards across city and state lines, it is easy to compare and contrast annual results across districts. In Detroit, for the academic year of 2014 15, only 17.2 percent of all 8th grade students scored proficient in reading and only 6.9 percent of all 8th grade students scored proficient in mathematics ( Annual education report Detroit city school district M STEP grades 3 8, 2016). While Rome remained a large empire there was a complete lack of constitution. After Septimus Severus all power derived from the army, which led to corruption in a quest for power. Between 235 and 284 there was a series of insane emperors who were frequently assassinated. Farmers who could not afford to pay the high taxes of the government fled their land. Barbarians occupied this abandoned land. Anarchy and the decaying of trade routes resulted in the decline of commerce. There was a devaluation of the currency, which reduced the state to a barter economy. The burdens of taxation and poverty crushed both the rural and urban masses resulting in widespread revolts. During the third century there was a series of renegade armies, rebellions and foreign invasions. This chaos brought the social and economic system to the point of collapse. This is the theory that most geologists accept as to what happened to our continents. It states that Earth is made up of two layers, the lithosphere, outer, and the inner asthenosphere. The front ends fold and bend with the edge of the continental plate folding into a mountain range. You will also notice that the edge of the oceanic plate has bent down. This makes the rock in both plates break and slip, causing earthquakes. As the edge of the oceanic plate digs into Earth s hot interior, some of the rock in it melts. Convergent boundaries are dangerous places to live. Some insist that with careful planning and preparation, this land is livable. There are also divergent boundaries where plates seem to come apart. When the lithosphere of Earth is pulled apart, it tends to break and separate along the boundary. This is a slow process. The block between the faults cracks and drops down into the asthenosphere. The sinking of the block forms a rift and liquid rock fills the cracks. New crust is formed along the boundary. Earthquakes occur near the faults with volcanoes forming where the magma reaches the surface. When a divergent boundary crosses the land, the rift valleys created are usually between 30 50 km wide. One can see this in the East Africa rift in Kenya. There third boundary that occurs is the transform boundary. This boundary is the least spectacular of them. This boundary happens when plates slide past each other. This means that plates are not tearing each other apart. The sliding motion of them does cause a lot of earthquakes. Transform boundaries

One of the popular styles today is country and an example is Body Like a Back Road by Sam Hunt, which was released in February 2017 as a single from his upcoming album. Body Like a Back Road is a song that has a complex and changing texture which is created by varied musical elements and composition throughout the piece. Throughout Body Like a Back Road, the texture shifts depending on the section and the topic. Texture in musicis defined as the combination of musical parts to compose the overall feeling and sound of a piece. The first portion of the song has a texture that is average for the piece, which sets the overall jovial mood for the whole song. This mood is caused by the overlapping of instruments and the rhythm. The main melody is played by an electric guitar, which is then layered with the acoustic guitar. There is also an organ, drums, and some background chatter which hooks the listener to listen to the song and makes them want to join whatever else is going on. As the song goes into the first verse, extra percussion and some bass was added which makes it a more dense texture. Also, the tune shifts to a more hip hop feel rather than a classic country feeling which draws in the listener as

There is no denying the complexity of some of his poetry much like this quote from the Wild Swans at Coole many of his poems have both a literal and figurative meaning. I found some aspects of Yeats poetry quite challenging at times, on the other hand, I found that he also had the ability to get complex ideas across using both direct and accessible language. Yeats use of figurative language and metaphor baffled me at first. His poems are bursting with symbols, which must be deciphered in order to get to the core of the poem. There is no doubt that this can be difficult, but it can also be very rewarding. An apt example of this is Sailing to Byzantium (SB), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This predominant autobiographical quality of his work makes his poems thought provoking it gives the reader an insight into the reality of the poets life. The poet also talks about his life with a determined honesty, sometimes resulting in an unflattering portrait of himself, adds to this appeal. The final section of the second stanza in E16 deals with Major John MacBride. Yeats despised this man. He was married to Maud Gonne, the loves of Yeats life. Despite the personal animosity, which Yeats had towards MacBride, he admires his actions and sacrifices. He had done most bitter wrong to some who are near my heart, yet I number him in the song . This adds a personal aspect to the poem E16. The poem WSC is a deeply personal poem that discusses unrequited love. This poem evoked a sadness in me as I sympathised with Yeats. There s something terribly tragic about the fact that in nineteen short years he has gone from being a young man who trod with a lighter tread , a man with all the possibilities of the world stretching before him, to one whose heart is sore . I definitely felt like there was a lesson for me there

For example, getting baptized, starting High School, or watching my sister get married. Honestly, the event I am going to write about seems very insignificant compared to those other events, but it had the biggest influence on me, and it happened last year. As a Junior, I was displeased to be in a class with mostly Sophomores. It was PD2, or Health, and it was best for my schedule to take this class as a Junior instead of a Sophomore. Towards the end of the semester, we started the career unit. We all had to create a resume, reference page and a cover letter for our dream jobs, all to prepare for mock interviews (a fake job interview). Going into this interview I was pretty nervous just because I had to make conversation/brag about myself to a complete stranger. My interviewer was not who I pictured he d be. He was very old, probably late 60 s, retired, and I could see the wisdom in his eyes. He began with asking me the interview questions and I answered them with honesty and confidence. Despite the fact that I was nervous, his sarcasm and jokes quickly made me feel like I could tell him anything and he would keep my secrets safe and locked away forever.... Facts On Cocaine Essay Cocaine is a powerful central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that heightens alertness, inhibits appetite and the need for sleep, and provides intense feelings of pleasure. It is prepared from the leaf of the Erythroxylon coca bush, which grows primarily in Peru and Bolivia. Street dealers dilute it with inert (non psychoactive) but similar looking substances such as cornstarch, talcum powder, and sugar, or with active drugs such as procaine and benzocaine (used as local anesthetics), or other CNS stimulants such as amphetamines. In addition, dealers on the street may cut or combine the cocaine with other substances, like talcum powder, amphetamines, anesthetics, and other substances that may bring the purity down and cause unwanted side effects. Cocaine use can cause dilated pupils, nausea, headaches, sweating, increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, loss of appetite, and seizures. Cocaine speeds up the heart by stimulating the same nerves that cause fear causing the heart to beat erratically or stop. Cocaine also shrinks the peripheral blood vessels and places extra pressure on the heart and circulatory system. These effects can lead to heart attacks, strokes, brain seizures, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure in otherwise healthy people. New and chronic users can die suddenly. In Texas, 200 300 cocaine overdose deaths due to cocaine use have been reported each year. Chronic use of cocaine can
  • 44. The Importance Of The Second Amendment To The United... Do you know what function the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution actually serves? No, it is not so that people can go hunting or protect themselves against personal assault. Neither is it a stupid, brainless provision that some lamebrain slipped into the Constitution. Like a shield of freedom, it is one of the primary reasons that the United States Constitution still stands. As one who is not a gun owner, I treasure the Second Amendment. It is one of our best safeguards against tyranny, not from foreign governments, but from our own. This amendment reads, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The militia written of here is a volunteer army that basically provides its own weapons. That is, these are soldiers who are already armed, who already have their own guns. In The Federalist Papers, the authors wrote of concerns that a standing army could lead to tyranny (loss of freedom), so the Second Amendment was conceived in such a way that the U.S. could have an army at need, and would not have to have a large standing army. This was so that the national government would not threaten our freedom. (Trust me; it s in there.) There are historical examples of governments wanting to tighten their controls over the people, so they went out and disarmed the people (like the sword hunt in Japan), or made it illegal for them to own weapons (there are

The Key University ( Tku ) Data Breach Case Study Introduction This analysis discusses some issues and requirements to correct these issues that are outlined in the Turn Key University (TKU) data breach case study. In addition to these issues and requirements, some applicable laws will be discussed and some controls will be suggested for implementation. Issues Currently there are virtually no information security policies in place. Additionally, there are no formal processes or procedures in place for many tasks that are performed on the network. There is also no formal training for anyone, including the administrators and basic users. 1. Governing Policies There are no policies governing the TKU network except for one policy relating to printing reports and that policy is routinely ignored. Without policies to guide the users and administrators of the system it is impossible to discourage unwanted behaviors such as users routinely sharing network credentials. Additionally, the administrators have been inconsistently managing the network due to differences in knowledge, training, and requirements that can only be addressed with direct guidance in the form of policies. 2. Administrator Transitions At this time there is no formal transition process or training for new system administrators. This combination of poor administrator training and a lack of guidance perpetuated a weak security posture that is still an issue. The three current administrators have a year or less of experience managing the TKU system and received

Free association is when a patient verbalizes whatever comes to mind in that exact moment (Freud Bonaparte, 1954). The analyst is expected to help the patient interpret content to free association and reflect them back to the client (Freud Bonaparte, 1954). • 50. Acne Research Paper cne cases are an exceptionally typical and distressing condition which impacts the skin s oil glands. The small holes within your skin (pores) connect to oil glands beneath the skin. These glands create an oily compound called sebum. The pores get connected to the glands by a canal known as a follicle. In the follicles, oil carries dead skincells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. Once the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, the pimple begins developing. Most pimples are found normally on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders but they can develop practically anywhere. Acne can be unsightly and in rare cases permanent skin damage however it s never deadly. Acne develops once the hair, sebum and skin cells clump with each other to form a plug. Charged and neutral polymers are routinely used for gene and drug delivery. However, limited studies are performed to test their safety. Therefore, the originality of this work lies in its attempt to evaluate the toxicity of three widely used polymers for delivery of chemotherapeutic agents. Furthermore, we aim to establish efficient methods for nanotoxicity testing through comparing the results of three different models ( 2D, 3D invitro cell cultures and invivo zebrafish embryo)preparing these materials for clinical application. Abstract Nanomaterials exhibit a wide range of applications in different aspects of human life . In biomedical fields, nanoparticles are packaged into different nanocarriers for drug and gene delivery especially for improving the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to tumors. However, no sufficient data that detect their toxicity. In the present study, the toxicity of three different polymers that represent promising drug carriers will be evaluated using 2D, 3D cell cultures and zebrafish embryos. The polymers to be studie include the well known cationic transfection agents Poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) for their established cytotoxicity as well as the uncharged drug carrier material pHPMA (i.e. poly(N 2 hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide), Poly(ethylene glycol) b poly(N (2 hydroxypropyl)

Effectiveness Of A Volunteer Team Group Structure Our intervention occurred at the group level, where we also needed to consider the inputs, design components and outputs in order to do group level diagnosis. Here we looked at goal clarity, task structure, functioning of the group, composition, and performance norms. Ward s volunteer team group structure deviated widely from most for profit companies: the design components are all loosely defined. Because Ward teams depend on volunteers it is more challenging to hold teams to any kind of performance measures. We also looked at the individual level design components: tasks identity, significance, autonomy, variety, and feedback. Here, too, it is difficult to hold members to performance standards. Although we concluded that the group level performance gap was largely a result of inadequate communication, individual outputs were also not as desired. Volunteers varied in performance; however, you couldn t fire them. There were no repercussions for absenteeism. They lacked KSA s and often motivation to do a good job. Showing up was the highest expectation. Understanding all of the organizational, group and individual inputs, design components and outputs is critical to determine effectiveness.
